kris ngvot but he looked so unenthusiastic about it and only did it after talking to bojan who I guess talked him into it? sorry kris, you were amazing though

bojan loved the shirt @zadig-fate made for him ❤️ he's such a nerd for being obsessed with eurotrip and was so excited to be like “this is a eurotrip quote!!!” lmao

bojan got a harmonica, said he couldn't play it, and then still played the wedding march on it because of course he was able to do that

the guys were very confused about the berlin flag 😂 jan was kinda holding it, very unsure, then went over to kiki, then went over to nace and they were just kind of. looking at the flag and then jan turned to kris and mouthed "berlin??" and kris signalled him a yes which was very funny

just. the vibes of the crowd. everyone was so respectful and we genuinely had an amazing energy. berlin crowd I love you so much

vita said they got the stage measurements beforehand and knew that racik's art wouldn't fit on the stage lmao. she's also super sweet and so easy to talk to. love u vita thanks for all the photos (selfishly glad she's pausing her studies for this)

hugged teya before she had to leave and didn't get to talk to nace and kris but managed to catch jan afterwards and had him sign in my gig book and it was? such a nice crowd? everyone was waiting and chatting for a bit and then when we were all finished jan was hovering there a bit awkwardly before saying bye and leaving. it was amazing and so chill (again. berlin crowd I love you.)

jure was walking by and we waved and a person turned around to see who we were waving at and let out a very loud “oh my god” after spotting jure. absolutely hilarious, we all burst out laughing

while the queue was being organised, kris, jc stewart with jure, vita, and nace behind them were walking down the street next to the queue and nace waved at us but no one paid attention (busy with the queue) so he kinda. stopped lmao

literally like ten minutes after that, jan seemed to try catching up to them but didn't know where to go so he just stared very intently at his phone and stopped in the middle of the street, turned left and walked right by us, then apparently went to far and had to turn back. top ten janči moments

kris walked into the soundcheck with a mug in his hand and left pretty quickly again after soundcheck was finished, he's just so funny to me

bojan said that it was a nice change that the EA crowd were mostly germans which like. ok.

the boys came down to us to talk and take pics with us after the soundcheck??? so nice of them but it confused the hell out of me (I wasn't prepared and was very intimidated by suddenly having a bojan directly in front of me)

a friend I was with asked bojan about the jo travel curse and munich because it's been horrible at least for us living in germany (snow chaos for munich, snow chaos when trying to travel to esns in january, train strike on the day of the berlin gig) and he just kinda forgot about munich until he was like “oh yeah right. it was still an amazing gig though.” 🥺

okay so. now we come to what was an absolutely insane concert

first we saw the eyeliner jure pic and went “oh my god??” and then he actually came on stage like that and we lost it. and then bojan came on stage with that lace shirt and we lost it again. not kidding when I say my favourite insane moment was me turning around to grip @itskrejsaitsparty's hand as I was trying to comprehend what I was seeing. Just. jfc.

bojan asked who had never been to a JO gig before and from what I could see it was around 50%? so there were a lot of new people which is probably also one reason why the energy was insane like that

bojan couldn't stop holding his belt and thrusting his hips, what the fuck 🫠

since I was in the middle I was also privvy to many cute jance looks and moments, they really are just like that on stage

the nace solo because someone requested a bass solo?? and how nace started and everyone joined and then bojan's “let's go nace” just. what even was happening at that point

everything surrounding metulji. first bojan giving jan that pic to “get him in the mood.” jan pretending to kiss it. it falling down making us all giggle and bojan already being on the brink of losing it and then losing it completely and jan stopping to just play different chords on the piano while bojan was trying to get it together. we really broke him 😭 and he was trying so hard to get back into the sad metulji mood and then he apologised for it afterwards like “i'm sorry this was so unprofessional of me” like dude. the was the best moment I've ever seen on stage

bojan was so keyed up that when kiki came to him to switch guitars he just bounced around him and started saying stuff to kiki and leaned his face towards him (I wouldn't be surprised if he expected another cheek kiss but shhhhh)

bojan AGAIN because he was jumping over the barrier and back on stage right next to me after umazane misli and I was like. what do I do. Do I, like, help him??? Can he do it by himself??? what if he topples over and I'm right next to him. Gah. In the end I just pressed myself back into @braveheart1418, stared at the back of bojan's lace shirt in slight horror and let Kiki do his thing 🫠 (I need a bojči break now I'm too anxious for any of this)

the gig went by so quickly because of all the stuff that happened that it was such a surprise when they said it was nearly over

I literally sank onto the floor after the gig because I couldn't understand what had just happened. so many memorable moments. I'm glad everyone just went down onto the floor with me, love you ❤️

everyone (except kris) came out to talk and take pics afterwards but bojan left quickly because of his health. and also, you know. damon baker. what a sweetheart. with all the stuff that happened, being able to talk to him about his art was such a lovely moment and I still can't believe that he was there

In the most funniest turn of events I managed to have everyone including damon baker sign in my gig book except for kris which is hilarious to me and so very fitting for him

Well look at that it's 2024, and my new years resolution is to stay an unbothered icon queen, and hope the hater's die mad. But I also thought I'd take a second to shout out to the people who make the shit show of a year 2023 bearable, and even enjoyable in some cases.

As trash as the rpc has a tendency to be there are still a lot of you that make this place more than worth it. I clearly cant shout out to all 900 something followers but I can highlight some of you. If you're not listed don't worry I still appreciate you immensely for being here, these are just the people that have really impacted my time here so far.

@unsettledspirits / @zoomingupthathill what can i say that I already haven't. There's 3 months worth of daily reasons to love you. You built the one ship that beat Steferine with me, honestly it was a surprise to everyone. Happy to see you back on Max ruling over your ST kingdom.

@hybrid-royalty-main Damon you piece of shit, I hate you the absolute most, and I'm so glad youre here with all the boys tbh. You bring such a unique quality to each one of them. Especially were-jer, it has been an absolute HOOT watching you take on the challenges of a teenaged were pup.

Beth Canon, VP of Development, Dreamworks Animation Television: I was a child of the 80s, and I grew up watching She-Ra. I was just a huge fan of the property, because honestly there wasn't that much for girls at the time. Because I had that--that personal connection to the show, it was so important to really do it right, if we were gonna reboot it. A lot of my friends and I were having conversations about female empowerment. I think we just started to feel like it was the right time, like there was something happening, we felt like young girls really needed a new sort of… superhero to look up to.

ND Stevenson, Executive Producer: Beth was awesome to work with. She was interested in uh, especially my take on female characters. She wanted to go a little bit deeper than the typical 'girl power' show would go, which was really exciting to me, that was exactly what I wanted to do. I didn't quite find myself relating to princesses when I was a kid. They were always very pretty, they were always very dainty, they were too perfect. And that wasn't my experience. As a girl. And so I really wanted to see a version of that that rang true to me.

Filmation She-Ra: [kicks in a wall] Now to take care of a few things.

?Elizabeth Kresin?: Welcome to the rough pitch of episode 114, we have boards from uh, Mickey, Angela, Jasmine, and Kiki

Josie Campbell, Story Editor: We have a lot of women, we have a lot of people from different backgrounds. The fact that we wanted to make a show that reflected what we wanted to see, and who we were as people, I think really spoke to everybody. It was like another reason we all really care about She-Ra.

ND Stevenson: We have a first time art director, first time directors, first time story editor, so we really relied on each other, and we really relied on the support from each other in order for this show to be possible at all. So much of that ended up going into the show, even just the story about all these characters working together to like, solve this problem, to save the day. It felt like a lot of what was going on with us, as well.

Josie Campbell: I think the biggest message of She-Ra is sort of a combination of, "No one can do this alone"--She-Ra is a strong hero, she's got the sword, she's got the mystical background, but she still needs her friends to come and help her.

[as herself] Girl power isn't like explicitly stated in our show, but it's implied and I think it's because Noelle has created a post-misogynist world, which is like very refreshing to live in because obviously as soon as we walk out of this room we're faced with things on a daily basis. But in this world, a woman in power is not something that's commented on. A woman's shape is not commented on.

Karen Fukuhara: [as Glimmer] Why isn't it attacking the woods?

Aimee Carrero: [as Adora] It's still just a Horde bot. We know how to handle these--[screams]

ND Stevenson: It was very important to me from the start that our characters represented a diversity of body shape, diversity of ethnicity, and a diversity of, I guess… romantic and gender expression. We wanted our characters to fall along these spectrums in so many different ways.

Karen Fukuhara, voice of Glimmer: The reaction on this show has been absolutely nuts, it's amazing. I--I've gotten phone calls from friends that have said, "Thank you for being part of a show that--that I see myself on."

Glimmer: Iiiiiiit's makeover time!

ND Stevenson: To see yourself reflected in that way, it's hugely important, because if you only see one type of body type in that role you start to think, "Maybe that's just what a protagonist looks like."

Marcus Scribner: [as Bow] Did you learn anything new from Light Hope?

Marcus Scribner, Voice of Bow: Bow back in the old days of She-Ra was like this middle-aged white man who was like, "Hah, She-Ra, let's save the day!"

Marcus Scribner: I feel like new Bow is obviously different, in that he's an African American character, and I think he's a really cool male character in an animation we haven't seen too often.

Bow: Do we have a new addition to the Best Friend Squad?

Glimmer: Shut up.

Marcus Scribner: He's there to support his female leads, and I think a lot of young boys can learn a lot from watching Bow does and how he treats the women around him.

Sea Hawk: Can I be this miniature painted model of Bow?

Adora: No! Those represent Bow and Glimmer. And this one's mine. [fields incredulous stares] … Bow made them for us. Okay, just--! Everyone focus!

Marcus Scribner: My little cousin Jackson and my little cousin Timothy both watch the show. They watched all thirteen episodes super quick, I was getting really excited 'cause I was like, "Oh, we're gonna get you guys Bow action figures and Bow pins and all this stuff--" and they were like, "Nah, we want She-Ra figures!" which I think is super dope. And kind of like the motive of the show is really opening people's eyes and--and getting people to see a strong female lead in an animation, which I don't think is done too often.

ND Stevenson: I think we were all sort of making the show for ourselves, in the past. So, when I look back and I see myself as this kid, and I think, "What does she need to see right now?" and, "How can I be the person that I needed when I was that age?" and hopefully that rings true to the kids who are watching it now.

i talk so much here. like a lot more than normal. sillies,,

for rhea i think one of my favorite things is actually how i imagine a novelization of their save file. since i think it would be so cool if taka dies, (but technically speaking either taka route can work for them. the choices are both in character for her so it's basically a 50/50 chance she'll lean one way or the other) i want to show just how absolutely fed up and tired of team meteor rhea is, so instead of the usual tone of narrative showing the reader how rhea feels on the inside at the moment, rhea stands up while holding taka's scarf, and the tone changes. from something like, say:

rhea blinked at cain through the window they made in the blanket cocoon they were in. of course he was right. there were more important things than feeling sad over something in the past. that could wait until later.

it would become this if it took place after taka dies:

they blinked at him. “right. there's more urgent things than this. what's the plan?”

i think i can explain a lot better with demonstration than describing it but i'm completely obsessed with this style choice. basically it shuts out about 90% of their inner monologue that is usually in what i write. most feelings and thoughts would be shown through actions and words, but i have not had too much luck with writing that style quickly since i'm so used to adding a “they sighed, irritation ..yadayadayada” to some part of an interaction. i still love it, just takes longer since i would need to go back and filter things out. also i get rid of things like the 'felt' in “she felt the wind on her face” to become “wind blew on her face.” makes it seem less casual and more tense. past me may be a little silly but that was one of the better ideas for them.

also after taka dies they go apeshit because they grew as close friends whole they got lost traveled through the desert. like team meteor killed kiki, someone i imagined rhea would be close to, kidnapped the kids, tried to kill them multiple times, and probably more i can't think off off the top of my head, but then taka? a good friend? nah i think i would be done too lol

that's just the narrative as well. rhea as a character i adore so much. like how they blush at the smallest complement or gravitates towards citrus fruit. or how koa (espeon) evolves to save them again, since they did that on the train too, so rhea returns the favor and ends up with a cool lightning scar as a result. and how they just squeeze their heirloom as a stress response. sometimes she bleeds. sometimes she does not notice. thank you twitter mutual that was an amazing idea

ALSO ALSO ALSO their relationship with amaria. i have a whole draft talking about this. what really sold me on the don't fight taka route was amaria attempting to drown the player. i don't know how the scene goes exactly but i was not about to let that opportunity go. rhea finds themselves looking up to amy and is like "wow. strong trainer. i wanna be like that sometime maybe." and i imagine they got along too. which makes it hurt more when they're both underwater and rhea can't get air. (i like to hc that the dive tm just enhances the trainer's ability to hold their breath underwater depending on how strong the pokemon using it is and at that point it's been a hot minute since resurfacing) so rhea, afterwards, goes from enjoying being underwater and surfing to being anxious when there's other people around. they're okay when alone but is usually on high alert anyway.

nia?!?! nia. so rotten over her. i love how she's just playing pretend basically. she's very hurt on the inside even before nancy dies but she just acts very extroverted and hyper to distract herself. she is still generally a friendly and generous person but it's like, she's pretending it isn't affecting her, when it is. little things like how she flinches when people begin to argue around her or how she has less faith and trust in authority figures, even being a little less obligated to do what they say. (see the time where i think it was crescent told her and ren not to go after melia and nia straight up told them, "nah we just didn't care what you said to us") i haven't thought of too many more but they will be there!!

the biggest thing i've been obsessed over with her is how she deals with the "death" of herself. at first her favorite color is red, since pink is a shade of red and nia and nancy were super close. but that shifts from red to orange and yellow after she comes back. ironically the same color as lava. hm. but it's not just the colors!! she likes wind. and rain to an extent, but not too much rain. her hair type and rain is not a good combination when she just got her hair done. but mostly wind. she can feel the wind. it reminds her she's still there. and that breaks me because she's learning to notice smaller things she didn't before. go girl go enjoy life as much as you can within the circumstance. the relationships with other characters too. it really made rejuvenation for me. playing fetch with aelita. i was dying of fun. nia smiled for the first time after mom died there. playing with her bestie and a cute doggo. goodest boy ever. hanging out with melia. nia found hapi and her meeting very sweet.

also erin saying that nia fidgets a lot in her sleep. makes sense, since nia has bad nightmares. twisted endings to things scare her to the point she dreads going to bed. i like to think melia catches her awake and they talk a little before nia thanks her for what she told tesla at terajuma.

nia may not have an "oh my god. i'm not straight" moment but she will have multiple instances of "wow. i am really gay. shameless even" just like me. should've seen my reaction to medalis' art smh

oh boy. emo girl. kisaragi. she's not nearly as developed as nia and rhea but i still adore her and her seriousness and parental issues

do you know how excited i was when valkyrie gave me the go ahead to make them. went feral. absol aura wielder beloved. i never figured out their hair color since red eyes go well with both white and black hair. they developed some trust issues a lot earlier than the other two ocs because they already experienced fake friends so many times. i was like, it would be cool if sara was from aevium, where most of that au is, and went on the desolation boat with the help of their friends because they were so done with their parents.

so sara tends to come off as sort of mean at first, because she defaults to “this person might just want something from me and leave afterwards, so why get attached in the first place anyway” so it takes a while for them to fully trust anyone, really. they're super soft on the inside though. mega soft. see when they interact with their absol, hasumi. i'm such a heckin sucker for mean/rough exterior but soft characters. they are so shaped. hug shaped. i like how they'd just melt if you say something like how you think they're so cool. they have some self worth issues thanks to their parents comparing them to their siblings often and disregarding what they might want to study at school for whatever they think is better. which is never better for sara.

i also really like what i have for their current dark type behavior (since soul bonded with absol, they can display characteristics similar to the type):

gets a headache that can turn to a migraine with too much exposure to artificial lights.

low sugar tolerance

feels connected to night/darkness as a whole, but in sara's case specifically the moon or a dark forest

can see better in the dark

unusual stealthiness. literally walks silently most of the time

hates bugs, would never admit to being scared of certain ones

practically nocturnal, does better at night but can handle the day fine.

i still don't know how the fighting type weakness can manifest? there's also the general effects an aura wielder has. like being resistant to illness, which i find funny because i hardly ever get sick. i woke up sick one day and was better in 2 hours. why is my immune system made of steel? i've been joked about because of it kashahhasja

also she likes ghosts since like absol, they think they're generally misunderstood. sort of like them. maybe people think they're stuck up or rude or something when that's not who they really are, like how people can think all ghost types are malicious when most aren't. also finds them fascinating how there's no scientific explanation for some of the cool things they can do!! and that's even cooler. how do you phase through the wall haunter do it again. again. again!

Clouds on the Horizon-Initial thoughts

Final is next week. This was part 1 of the 2 part finale and oh boyyyyyyyyyy. There's a lot to unpack.

I’m gonna try going topically.

SPOILERS BELOW!

Lumity:

Luz has carved her palisman and all signs point to a bluebird once that egg hatches. Luz wants to go check on her girlfriend before everything gets crazy and Darius has arranged that, with Hunter, Gus and Willow going to escort the couple. Willow has an amazing new outfit and Gus is keeping Adrians illusion amplifier artifact. Great on all fronts. Meanwhile, Amity is trying to convince her parents that the Day of Unity is secretly evil, and they should stop supplying Abomitons to the Emperor's Coven. Odelia happens to be the worst and promptly grounds her children. I was not expecting how much the worst she truly is but wow.

Team Hexside breaks into the Blight manner in a great fight scene, and Amity and Luz reunite after a week in universe and for the first time since Reaching Out, 5 episodes ago. And it is cute. Luz shows up on her balcony as framed by flowering vines. Amity is reassuring herself in a bad spot by talking about how Luz would react to her situation only for Luz to actually show up like a dashing romantic hero. And drumroll please……they get their first kiss!!!!! We don’t actually get to see the kiss thanks to the homophobic mouse but they kiss, in what might be one of the most over animated sequences in the series thus far. Every detail is on display, you can see their eyes dilating, the lighting is incredibly rich. Honestly it seems like overkill, but this is an historic moment. They deserve that slice of life date so much.

Team Hexside proceeds to go over to Blight Industries in order to…..I’m actually a bit lost on that one. Talk sense into Amity’s dad? I’m not sure how much of this was part of the broader plan and how much was just Amity’s personal agenda, but I don’t entirely mind. The Team infiltrates under Gus’ illusions to make them look like coven scouts. Amity gets smacked in the face with her mother being the literal worst. Well ok Odelia isn’t as bad as Belos, but she’s close. She’s the second worst. Team Hexside goes to bubble prison, and Odelia trashes on Lumity. You don’t trash on Lumity. The whole fandom will kill you. Amity fights back and gets nowhere till her dad shows up to help. Alador steps up to be a good parent and supports Lumity only to find that Luz has been replaced by Hunter and Plot has interceded. All and all Lumity continues to be great.

Huntlow:

Willow got a new outfit and she looks amazing. She is wearing that confidence and long coat like a boss. Her and Hunter are so in sync this episode, coordinating their attacks and generally being cute. Willow is terrifying when she rises in a thorny plant creature behind Kiki, and then stops because she doesn't want to hurt Hunter. I ship these two a totally normal amount. They are so good together.

When it looks like Hunter has been taken by Kiki, she immediately tries to figure out how to fly the airship to rescue him. We are being ship-teased, and I love it.

Reada:

Eda has an important part to play in the actually ludicrous plan. ​​This is a terrible plan. It is way too straight forward and would never work, at least in part because they told it to us, on screen. Eda has to join the bard coven, and substitute Raine’s part in the Day of Unity. It’s all far too straight forward. But they make it emotionally charged. Raine is very conflicted about tying Eda down to anything and they can clearly tell that Eda does not want to do this. But Eda is being so mature about everything because literally everything depends on it. She’s still capable of making jokes and keeping the mood light. This will not end well on account of Belos knowing what's up but it's a valiant try and we get some cute couple moments along the road to disaster.

King:

King is dealing with the whole Titan thing. He wants the fact that he is a juvenile god to be helpful. He so badly wants to be helpful, but he is a baby and must be protected. He’s able to overhear the Collector, now while awake. The Collector is really just an overgrown child. They want to play games, and want friends, and they think Belos needs to believe more firmly in the power of pinky-promises. They’re starting to worry about Belos betrying him, and he’s getting bored with playing the ‘genocide’ game for the past hundred years, but he thinks Belos couldn’t be lying to him because he’s his friend. I’m firmly coming down on side ‘the Collector will betray Belos or vice versa, and King will befriend him’. King is getting a great headstart on befriending people into being allies, by talking Alador into being a better part by listening to him and kicking him with ‘there is no after the Day of Unity’. King is doing great on the caring benevolent god thing already. He knows how to listen to and interact with his subjects.

Alador really shows up at the end and fights Odelia, who is, as I said above, the wooooorst. She fully knows about the genocide plans, and is perfectly willing to go along with it if it means her family gets prestige when the dust settles. She also really talks like Alador is strictly a business partner and not her husband. That relationship did not seem healthy but did seem absolutely toxic from her end. I now want Darius and Alador to have been exes and to then get back together, and Amity and Hunter have to be step-siblings. That sounds wonderful. They can unite over childhood trauma and loving their girlfriends.

I do enjoy getting to see more oracle magic with Odelia.

Overall, we get more villain information with the Collector/Belos scene, great shipping material, amazing fight scenes, and the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers with Luz being taken off to Belos. My only hopes for the final are Terra/Willow fight and King/Collector talk. I am so looking forward to where this show takes us next, and I curse the Mouse for shortening things.

Zemo hissed through his teeth at the stinging pain that erupted from his arm as you started to dab the antiseptic cloth upon his bleeding wound. He thought he had been careful when on the mission with Sam and James, careful to avoid most fights, only taking out the people he could, but it seems not careful enough.

While his attention had been distracted, a shot went right through his arm, damaging not only his prized coat and turtleneck but causing a tremendous about of blood to start to spill out of him. He knew he couldn't go back to Sam and James, for they would treat him, but then they would have no more used to him as he was injured and he would be sent back to prison and he couldn't afford that, so he went to the one place he knew he could go.

Yours.

Before he started his mission to take down the Avengers after Sokovia fell he found you. You took him in, looked after him and though he still felt the pain of losing his family, his wife, he fell hopelessly and adamantly in love with you.

But he had to leave you, so you wouldn't be caught up in this mess he was creating. But now the only person he trusted to help him, was you. And if his life was to slowly ebb away due to blood loss, at least he could be within your arms one last time to do so.

It was quite the journey to yours, and without being able to contact his butler, he had to stagger his way along, clutching his injured hand in the hope of preventing as much blood loss as he could. But finally, he found himself in front of your home, safe at last.

You had such a shock opening the door to find Zemo leaning against it, his clothing soaked with blood and a pained expression in his eyes as he groaned your name and then fell forward, unable to support himself much longer.

You caught him and had to push away the shock of seeing the man after all these years to drag him into the living room and grabbed your first aid kit. He wasn't much help and so you had to pull his coat and turtle neck off yourself, leaving him bare-chested before you, but you couldn't focus on that due to the bloodstains trailing down his arm.

The bullet had gone through his arm, thankfully not getting lodged within it and so you didn't have to worry about getting the bullet out, but you needed to make sure the wound wasn't infected. and so you poured out the antiseptic and started pressing it over his wound.

Through Zemo hissed and groaned in pain, he didn't flinch away from the pain, and his eyes stayed upon you, unwavering. It helped him focus less on the pain, observing after how all these years you still looked as beautiful as the time he first laid eyes upon you.

After you were done with the antiseptic you got the bandages out and started to wrap them around his arm, having to apply a few so the blood didn't leak out. The whole time neither of you said a word to each other, but when you finished tying the last knot on his bandage and looked up at him, his eyes held sincerity as he said,

"Thank you"

You fixed him up dinner, and then awkwardly you two sat, eating soup till finally, you had to break the silence.

"I saw you on the news. I saw what you did"

Zemo sighed, placing his spoon down into his half-empty bowel to address the lingering situation.

"You must think the worst of me"

"I'd just wish you had told me"

"I didn't want to see you get involved in it because of me"

"I wouldn't have cared about that!" you finally cried, feeling a few tears swarm your eyes, "I just wanted to be with you Helmut"

Zemo could feel his heartbreaking at the sight of you, feeling your pained and broken face before him. You watched the way his face fell in forward, and you had to push yourself away from the table, to look away from that pitying gaze as you turned your back to him.

"You should probably go home" you whisper, not baring to turn around and see if he took your word and left. But after a few seconds, you felt a hand upon your shoulder, gently forcing you to turn around.

Zemo stood right behind you, looking down with an unreadable expression. His hand left your shoulder to cup the side of your face instead, brushing his fingers over your cheek to push away the tears that were falling.

"But I'm already home"

His lips pressed against yours, and he realised what a fool he had been to leave the place he found a home in the hope to avenge his last one, but now he was back again, and this time, he was determined to stay.

The End Of My Candy Love

Warning!

Alright, so. This post will contain a lot. First of all, it's gonna be really sloppy. I'm very emotional person and I easily get attached to games, movies and stuff. I know it's a bit weird, but yeah, I'm a weird person. Anyway, that's why there's a warning: there's gonna be a lot of sloppiness, grammar mistakes (at least I think so, specially since english isn't my native languange) and it's probably going to be long. So, if you're intrested in reading my thoughts about everything - good luck.

First Adventure

I first heard about "My Candy Love" in 2015, six years ago. So, I was basically a baby (I'm pretty young). And I started playing a year after, I got totally obssesed with Lysander and I fell in love, seriously, haha. I was into writing back then, but I couldn't find any ideas on "what to write?" and MCL gave me just that - inspiration (that's most likely why I'm just a romance freak).

My Story

You know, I was a child so I couldn't really pay for AP, but I always found some kind of way to get them. But then I got my phone I just used money from that, geez, I was nuts. The old AP system was so iconic, looking for Nathaniel, finding Kiki, I'm gonna miss it.

Anyway, I got along with Castiel pretty well (which suprises me 'cause I found about walkthroughs in 2017, like year after, so maybe it was because I was a brat?), but I adored Lysander. Oh, I also loved Ken (I was so sad when he went away) and Nathaniel. After I met Armin, I liked him too.

Again, being a child and playing a game like this I came across all diffrent kinds of emotions. I was laughing, crying, dying from embaressment (this thing with Nath and locker room, aaa) and getting seriously mad (Deborah's arc, Priya, Charlotte). I remember impatiently waiting for new episode to come out or crying my eyes out during Lysander's amnesia plot. Jesus. I loved the way Castiel was teasing Candy, I loved this cute-clumsy Kentin, I loved the old Nathaniel, I loved Armin and most of all - I loved my precious Lysander. I adored the interactions between characters, how funny or cringy they were and how much fun I had. I even like this secret-dating plot even when it got on my nerves. I still remember staying up late to watch videos like "lysander illustrations" and stuff. I also really enjoyed reading MCL manga and I spent hours trying to translate it from Spanish to English or my native languange (funfact: I still haven't finished it! I don't know where to find those mangas) or trying to draw something from the game up ending up terribly failing. Anyway, I was crying during the prom thing, my Candy was so grown-up, I got emotional, haha. So, 40 episode came in. I was pretty excited 'because, me, being extremely naive (I got to say, I've never had a problem with Beemoov before, I started playing MCL in 2016 and Eldarya in 2017, so there were no major issues with them, only the price of PA, I think) thought that my Lysander is going to propose (I was a child, ok?) and maybe, there's going to be a second season with us living together. Haha, how naive I was. Whole episode 40, really got me tearing up, I was a wreck, seriously (When Kentin couldn't take Candy's bra off I lost it or this whole ananas thing in Castiel's route, omg). But I finished it feeling happy. I truly enjoyed spending my time on this game. But, then this whole university thing came out. And the fact, that Lysander, Armin and Kentin won't be with us foe the next season. I spent entire vacation crying (I was a kiddo, ok?) and being mad at everyone. I felt like I got robbed. It was horrible.

"A New Chapter"

I was one of these people who just couldn't accept the change. Not in the world. Never. They stole my Lysander, Kentin and Armin from me and changed AP system to some kind of bullshit. God, I was mad. Really mad. Seeing Castiel was quite nice, but I didn't fill the void of my baby. But, oh, my, God. When I saw Nathaniel I just couldn't believe. I said I was mad? Then I was furious. I really liked the old Nathaniel, he had his own vibe, his backstory, his character and it was just, damn, amazing. But they changed him completely, for what? They wanted the second Castiel? Yeah, they got it. Priya as a love interest was quite a good move, tho. I even though I didn't like her (in highschool or in university) I liked the idea of adding a female interest. But the thing that hurted me, was the fact that Lysander was taking care of the farm. Like, no! He didn't want that. He didn't like the countryside. He had such a potential to become a author and Beemoov didn't let him. God, that broke my heart. Anyway, I didn't spent a single penny on MCLUL, but I have to say - I kinda enjoyed it. You know, it was the guily-pleasure kind of thing. I didn't like it as much as I liked highschool, but there were some good or funny moments. I loved Rayan's kiss scene. I adored Chani. Or Hyun making us watch "Toy Story". Nathaniel's ulgy green hair or all these crazy threesomes. I liked it. Kinda. I hated Nath tho. The ending, hm, it was okay, I guess? I do feel sort of nostalgic thinking about it 'cause I got some nice memories from it, in the end. But yeah, going on.

Love Life

Oh. My. Lord. I was so sceptical about it. Like, I was sure that, at this point they're going to do "My Candy Love Mid-Life Crises" next or some other shit. But in the end, I "kinda" like it. It wasn't good like highschool or fresh like university, but I was nice to see new chapters with our annoying-cringy Candy, that I love (btw, I started playing other otome games and I realized that Candy wasn't that bad). Meeting Eric was nice, even tho, this whole cheating plot really got me ragging. Like, damn, Beemoov, seriously? And if you going this, why not with old LIs? Just kidding. Anyway, I truly enjoyed meeting Dan and Eric, the two of them were quite a characters. I won't forget them, hah. I was happy with single ending, 'cause I think about it as a "open ending" when my Candy can go back to my baby and everything's going to be alright.

Regrets & Complaints

Now, now. Where do I start? AP system was a freaking nightmare. Replacing old Nathaniel with some kind of weird Castiel was a nightmare. Removing Lysander, Nathaniel, Armin and Kentin was a nightmare. Not finishing plots was a nightmare. And why in the whole Love Life I haven't seen Amber once? Why Alexy never mentioned Evan like they're not brothers? Why Castiel doesn't care that I was dating his bestfriend? And why, in the world, after changing the system finding Kiki is so damn easy? Why AP is so expensive? So many questions!

All The Good Times

But, I got to say. I will never forget this bitchy Castiel, cookie-monster Ken following us around. Or cute Nathaniel. Castiel buying Candy some kind of weird McDonald's. Or Lysander's parents exposing him having crush on Candy. Or seeing Kentin kissing Amber (ew). This super akward-funny sex ed lesson. Deborah's arc and losing my shit over it. Or Thomas (this weird child) stalking my Candy and her LI in the park. And Lysander asking us how to hide a body, aaa. Or Armin telling us he loves us. Or Kentin. And Cookie ripping this huge teddybear apart. Or the water fight in Kentin’s spin off. And crushing on Alexy and later on finding out he’s gay. Or spin-the-bottle game and Lysander getting jealous. Or Dake, being a creep for entire game straight. Or guessing what was guy's surnames. And for sure, I will never forget this demonic Kiki dog.

What it worth it?

In the end, yes. Have I ever told you that I want to become a professional writer? Silly dream, I know, but writing is a huge passion of mine, and well, my first story was based off My Candy Love (it is cringy as hell, but I feel kinda nostalgic thinking about it). All these years spending on playing game that I wasn't supposed to be playing was amazing. It was one of the best experiences I had in life and I will never, ever forget that.

What now?

Well, Beemoov is working on a new game and I'm kinda optimistic. I know, it's really naive of me, but I want to believe that they won't f*ck this up, this time. And going back to Sweet Amoris, well, I truly missed this place! And the teachers... And Kiki. I wonder, when it will be released and will Beemoov finally open up about telling us surnames and ages of love interests. Anyway, I want to believe they learnt from their mistakes.

In the end. Thank you, My Candy Love, for creating so many memories. I will be forever grateful.

Season 2 Intro!!!

           Dear Titan… It’s beautiful… The animation, the COLORS, the magic, it really is a step-up from Season 1’s intro! I love it so much…!

           We start with a single eye! There’s fire burning within it… Perhaps related to the portal and Belos’ influence? Will his Day of Unity involve fire, like the age-old trope of burning witches at the stake? A cleansing, purifying fire, allegedly? Or is it another eye, still related to Belos… I’ve seen that ONE speculation of the Portal Eye being just one of two for the Titan; Perhaps this is the Titan’s other eye! Perhaps we’ll get a scene where Belos tries to resurrect the Titan, and from the flames sprouts this giant yellow eye from its eye socket! That would be METAL…! Maybe it’s related to that cyclops Owl Deity; Perhaps IT has the other eye that Belos is looking for and needs! Or maybe Belos will release the eye from the Portal with his device?

           LUZ WITH HER CLOAK!!! Please telling me we’re getting more Luz with her cloak, the one Eda made JUST for her, that she makes full use of to add to her ever-growing arsenal! Maybe not every episode, but for important events… Cloaks can be hard to animate. But having her with it 24/7 would be AMAZING!

           Eda! EDA! She’s wielding Owlbert, she can still cast magic with him, she doesn’t have to worry about that at least! And of course King, hijacking her spotlight, the little gremlin!

           Willow, Gus, and Amity! And in their casual attire, I much prefer those clothes over the Hexside uniforms, not that those outfits are BAD, but the casual clothes are just so much THEM, y’know? Willow being all-powerful with her terrifying green eyes, Gus sprouting illusions from a book! Will we see him use a book, delve into magic from paper, kind of like what we saw Emira and Edric use to enter the library, maybe Bard magic? Multi-track learning is a thing and even if it wasn’t, we know Gus gets expelled from Hexside thanks to Odalia and Alador, and later tries to impress kids at Glandus… Hmm…

           Also! He does look a tiny bit older, which fits with how his VA is growing up! Dana did give us two truths and a lie; Gus’ growth spurt, Hooty leaving the Owl House, and Camila beating someone up! Alas, based on the intro and the synopsis of Echoes of the Past, it seems that Camila beating someone up is the lie… Disappointed but not surprised, I kinda saw it coming with the portal dilemma and all!

           Amity… AMITY, that precious gay child, literally twirling into frame and looking all stoic, but we know you’re an utter nerd! As she summons Abomination goop… Looking so CONIFDENT and strong, you go girl! You’ll need it for your confrontation with your parents, here’s hoping this alludes to you becoming even more of your own person after this!

           Then, we get it- The much-speculated and looked forward to, the Season 2 intro teaser! IT… Is exactly what we expected, but more! We have Lilith as her Season 1 self, acting all menacingly and on behalf of the Emperor’s Coven… Owl Mask wielding a staff similar to Belos’, but with a smaller wing! Are they an apprentice, a child of Belos perhaps? Small wing, bigger wing; Reminds me of the Emperor’s Coven insignia… And of course, Kikimora, hiding her face, appearing all tiny and dainty and weak…

           But then the panels flip around and we get a new look! Lilith in her Season 2 attire, ashamed and depressed, not wanting to associate with the Emperor’s Coven, but still having those connections and ties that pull back and haunt her, as she’s next to the Owl House… Owl Mask in-between as a liason! We get a closer look and they do look young, indeed- Them being a kid or young adult makes sense with their shorter stature in Season 1! Will they be a depressed, overworked millennial teen? And Kikimora is ANGRY… Her eye is red, is it always like that when hidden, or does it become like that when she loses it???

           I wouldn’t be surprised if Kiki had a bit of a Hulk mode where she just LOSES it and goes red with anger, perhaps even transforming! THAT would be interesting… Her pretending to be all tiny and dainty, not a threat, but it’s just a façade; Trying to suppress that ‘savage’ part of her, that Belos taught, before she inevitably lets loose every now and then! Aren’t you tired of being nice? Don’t you want to go ape-shit? If King and Kiki have parallels, then… What does this say of King?

           We also get a slightly better look at the icons for the Coven Heads… More or less the same, but Bard looks different? Like they have a cloak obscuring them… A new leader for the Bard Coven, or just an updated design for Season 2? I’m getting Diamond murals from the Moon Base flashbacks, circa Steven Universe…

           BBBEEEELLLOSSSS!!!! As we predicted, Belos replaces King in this transition, which of course lends to the potential parallels, with HIM as the new ruler! His armored gauntlet, sexy, tears into frame, burning with red fire- Red magic for Belos just FITS and is so aesthetical, it matches his bloody, organic vibes, but also this idea of demonic power, purifying rage, etc. It also reminds me of Isaac from Castlevania, and how he forges night creatures; Which just further endears me to Belos, and gives me hope for the idea of Belos creating monsters from scratch! I’d love that…

           We get a dynamic shot of Belos posing dramatically in front of his castle, red lightning- Will there be a storm? Can he summon storms and lightning, will a storm arise on the Day of Unity? In the background, we see his castle… And through the clouds, it appears to be a red source of light breaking through… A blood-red moon? Sun? Will Belos make the sky and sun go red on the Day of Unity as a portal, as he takes over?

           Then the rest is the same as the Season 1 intro, for a bit- The same flying sequence, but with a darkened light like evening, reminiscent of Agony of a Witch… That gives me shudders. I think the Day of Unity will perhaps begin with the skies going dark, perhaps? Ironic given its name, more like a NIGHT really… Night, Knight, who knows? We get the trio with Eda’s updated design, Luz’s light spell…

           But we get the title sequence and it’s different! We get bone patterns resembling the Titan’s skeleton… But instead of just light flashing across, we get spells of fire, ice, plant, and light bursting around, before converging in the middle and disappearing! A wonderful nod to Luz’s current arsenal and skillset… Which makes me wonder- Will she learn more spells? Maybe a teleportation glyph, hence why those spells flash out of existence? It’d suck if she didn’t… And if Luz DOES learn new spells, will they be included at the end, or is it just going to be the main four from Season 1?

           All in all, I am HYPED and looking forward to Season 2- And being given this delicious treat of an intro before every episode is just the cherry on top!

i WILL say... i really am fond of my older fics!!! they have a lot of sentimental value for me. but i am also very hard on myself in general... i really am my own worst critic JSSDKJ. i know my older fics aren't horrible, but i'm just the kind of person who will pick my work apart over and over. i'm constantly striving to improve SO every time i read an older fic of mine i'm thinking "i should have phrased x another way, the plot should have included x, the writing is too repetitive," etc etc. but ultimately, i DO look back on my old fics fondly (even if the writing makes me cringe at times KSJDAJD) because they're a testament to who i was at the time i wrote them. and being hard on myself over things like this is rough sometimes but i think it is also very necessary for me to improve !!!
