Giving Lackadaisy characters Jojo Stands.

I will assign them pre existing Stands according to what I think better fit them.

A bit of context for people who don't watch JJBA:

Stands appear in Part 3 and are described to be a manifestation of the user's soul. Depending of the individual, the stand can have different characteristics by either having abilities that revolve around close combat, ranged combat, deception, etc.

Another thing that can change depending on the user is the level of sentience a Stand can have (this enters a a more speculative territory). Some Stands are more like objects, others like pets, some have quirks that are similar to the user's or have entire personalities of their own.

WARNING: Some spoilers for the backstories of many JJBA characters and their Stands abilities, nothing about their fate in the story though.

Stand: Emperor | User: Mordrcai Heller

First appearance: Part 3 'Stardust Crusaders'

Emperor is a long raged Stand in the form of a revolver. This Stand can change the trajectory of the bullets it fires, being shown breaking windows that were behind Hol Horse (user).

It has no nock back and it's bullets are infinite permitting the user to fire as many shots as they desire without needing to refocus on the target.

It's inspired on the Tarot Card of the same name.

This is pretty obvious, at first I was thinking of giving him Guido Mista's Sex Pistols but it didn't feel right. Sex Pistols is one of the most sentient Stands in all of JJBA and Mordecai would not be able to handle it (if you know you know). So, the non- sentient gun it is.

In JJBA, The Emperor represents the desire of controlling one's surroundings via strategy and planning ahead. Mordecai's personality does not match Hol Horse's at all, but the way they think does. They plan ahead and know what enemies they can take on their own and who they can't. They both collaborate with people they don't necessarily like in order to assure they succeed on their job while keeping themselves safe.

Both Mordecai and Hol Horse take priority on being on the winning team regardless if they like who is in charge or not. A simple, straightforward Stand with one job that is executed perfectly.

Stand: Moody Blues | User: Mitzi May

First appearance: Part 5 'Golden Wind'

Moody Blues is not a Stand that excells in combat. What it can do is transform into people who were present in an area and recreate their past actions perfectly, changing their body to match the person's appearance. Like rewinding a tape up to a certain moment and then pressing 'play'.

It can still hold itself well in a fight, being able to land very strong punches, but the user will have to rely more on quick thinking and clever strategies if they actually want to win.

That doesn't mean it's not very valuable, Moody Blues is vital for the story of Golden Wind since it reveals crucial information to the gang apart from saving multiple members on different occasions.

The Stand itself isn't very sentient but it is considered one of the most pretty Stands in all of JJBA (mostly because it has wide hips and lovely colors).

Mitzi and Abbacchio have one similarity: a previous death has marked a before and after on their lives that led to them going dipper into the criminal life they only knew on a surface level. For Abbacchio, a corrupted cop, it was the death of a co worker by the hands of a criminal he was bribed into letting escape, for Mitzi it was her husband.

Both of them are characters who are stuck on a single moment of their lives and constantly repeat it, a perfect match.

Stand: Hey Ya! | User: Ivy Pepper

First appearance: Part 7 'Steel Ball Run'

Hey Ya! Is one of the most sentient Stands in all of Jojo and has no optimal use in hand to hand combat.

Instead, Hey Ya!'s ability revolves around cheering the users and boosting their moral into the roof, making them believe in themselves to the point their determination pushes them into achieving goals that previously seemed unreachable.

It is thought that the Stand can actually improve the user's luck but this is wrong, the user is cheered with positive reinforcement until the build up the courage to succeed in their goals.

I don't know much about Pocoloco's (user) personality so I cannot tell you if it matches Ivy's but that doesn't mean she can't have his Stand.

Ivy pushes herself into a life of crime that is filled with more bloodshed she could ever imagine and is constantly told by the people around her it would be better for her to return home and stay away as much as possible.

Despite this, she stays in the speakeasy determined to return it to its former glory and is able to push through all the hardships and survive. She might still be a bit blinded, she might still not want to acknowledge all the blood that covers her father's fortune but it's very clear she is strong enough to face the truth.

Stand: Purple Haze | User: Calvin 'Freckle' McMurray

First appearance: Part 5 'Golden Wind'

Purple Haze is one of the most dangerous Stands in all of JJBA, it also is one of the most sentient ones since it's very difficult for Fugo (user) to fully control it.

The Stand is very physically strong but most of their damage comes from six purple colored crystal orbs located on each of his knuckles. When he punches something and causes the orb to break, a deadly virus is released with the ability to kill anything that breathes it in thirty seconds. The infected will start to slowly melt, bubbles forming on their skin, until a liquid starts to pour out of their eyes and wounds until they fall apart on the ground.

Purple Haze has this little quirk were it likes to keep itself clean at all times, a desire that gets frustrated due to his own saliva constantly dripping from his mouth.

Purple Haze can't be control since it's the manifestation of Fugo's anger and violent tendencies. A very traumatized individual that keeps all of his anger build up deep inside of him that sometimes lashes out when provoked.

Calvin might not be as violent as Fugo or lash out as much as he does but he definitely has some screws loose, his manic episodes now accompanied by something far more dangerous than a Tommy Gun.

Both man came from nice families and had a safe future that was ruined by the people running the show and their reactions to it. Fugo had to endure his parent's demands and secual assault form one of his professors which led to him beating the man up with a huge encyclopedia. For Calvin's case, it's speculated it was due to racism since people weren't very kind to Irish folk in that time period, maybe that led to some anger outburst or a quiet, unfair dischargement.

After being rejected from the safe life that was promised to them, a world filled with death and blood opened its arms to them and welcomed the violence they keep inside.

Stand: Greatful Dead | User: Serafine Savoy

First appearance: Part 5 'Golden Wind'

Greatful Dead is not very useful in face to face combat forcing the user to rely on a partner, the Stand's ability taking a much supportive role.

Greatful Dead has the ability to release a smoke that covers a wide area. When you inhale said smoke, you start aging faster to the point were your body starts to decay and you die due to organ failure.

The speed of its effect depends on the body heat of the individual, if they consume cold drinks or stay in contact with ice then Greatful Dead's ability will have little to no effect on them as long as their body temperature is low.

Since women have more body fat than males do (according to Araki) they will start to feel the effects of Greatful Dead much slower than a man. The Stand's ability affects everyone but the user and if someone touches them, they will suffer the effects almost instantly.

I think this Stands really fits her from the way it kills its enemies to how it seems to spare girls from the effects. The fact the Stand isn't the best on hand to hand combat does not mean the user cannot engage on it, Prosciutto (user) prefers to kill his enemies with a gun to make sure the job is done correctly rather than wait for them to die, using his Stand as an strategic advantage.

In terms of personality, Prosciutto has more similarities with Mordecai than with Serafine but it still is a creepy Stand that I think matches her really well.

2/7/2022-Knepp: Blog 2 of 2: Birds, mammals and some more landscape photos

Birds were such a key part of today too as they have become for our Knepp trips that we first did due to butterflies because of the Purple Emperors, and that’s mostly down to the White Storks. It was so amazing to see these gigantic birds again today, seeing three nests and getting fantastic views of chicks with one seen testing its wings by flapping and they all looked well. They are so mesmerizing to watch. It’s still quite surreal seeing them flying around too and we did so much of that today. There was a large shadow on the floor at one point and there could only be one thing making it and I looked up to see a White Stork. The pleasant collection of flying White Stork views was headlined today by a moment that felt tropical when we looked up and saw five of these in the air, sensational. Britain’s wildlife and landscape feels that bit richer with White Storks back and I am loving them. I took the first, second and fourth pictures in this photoset of them today.

Brilliant red Bullfinch and a Whitethroat seen well were other key birds to see today. As was a Great Crested Grebe with adorable humbug chicks, smaller than those at Lakeside. It was lovely to watch these for a bit and as we did last year enjoy some Great Crested Grebe chicks outside of Lakeside too where I follow them so much. It’s my first really young Great Crested Grebe photos I took of them outside of Lakeside I believe. I took the final two pictures in this photoset of these birds. Moorhen with young stood out today too an there is an interesting mix of waterbirds here in the pond areas too. I also enjoyed a quadruple of seeing raptors with excitingly another Hobby for me this year I can see why they’d be here with the amount of their prey the dragonfly encountered, Kestrel hovering, Buzzard seen well especially at the car park at the start and one that had been spoken about by others day and in this habitat one I thought was something I just thought we might see today which we did soaring over when back at the car park before leaving at the end the Red Kite with it landing in a tree the other side of the road briefly too which is notable to see.

It was nice to see Fallow Deers and catch up with the Tamworth pigs key mammals and pioneers of the landscape here today I took the eighth picture in this photoset of one of the latter seen. I took the third, fifth, sixth and seventh pictures in this photoset of more views here today.

It was a fantastic day of flowers with so many species seen. This was headlined as well as all the ragwort by seeing my first centaury and common toadflax of the year the former a bright looking pink one I liked learning last year and the latter also one I have a lot of time for, have really liked seeing over the last few years and saw when we came to Knepp last year. I also saw today; a nice mix of viper’s-bugloss, lady’s bedstraw, possible white campion, knapweed and oxeye daisy all looking great in and around the verge in bloom at the camp site car park always a highlight to see here each year, tiny speedwell and scarlet pimpernel, a yellow one possibly silverweed, possible chickweed type flower a little one, mallow, rose, St. John’s-wort, lots of lovely self-heal one I’ve had a nice few weeks for, lots of hedge woundwort a star of my year, I seem to recall a spotted orchid, foxgloves fitting in well in the views with the distinctive purple way markers of the Purple Emperor trail, lots of white clover with them making a great impression on the area painting it white, marsh bedstraw, bindweed and lots of dock too.

Wildlife Sightings Summary for Knepp: My first ever Leopard moth, my first of two of my favourite butterflies the Purple Emperor and Purple Hairstreak of the year, my first Gatekeeper of the year, my first of one of my favourite dragonflies the Southern Hawker of the year, my first Scarce Chaser of the year, four more of my favourite butterflies the Large Skipper, Silver-washed Fritillary, Red Admiral and Marbled White, five of my favourite birds the Red Kite, Buzzard, Hobby, Jay and Great Crested Grebes, two more of my favourite dragonflies the Broad-bodied Chaser and Black-tailed Skimmer, one of my favourite mammals the Fallow Deer, lots of Comma on a great run I am on for seeing them, Peacock, Ringlet, Meadow Brown, Small Skipper, possibly another of my favourite butterflies the White Admiral, another white butterfly quickly I couldn’t quite tell which, Kestrel, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, House Sparrow, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Whitethroat, a fair few Long-tailed Tits, Blue Tit, Wren, Swallow seen really well over the water, Swift, White Stork, Herring Gull, Moorhen, Mallard, possibly woodpecker, Rabbits which was nice, Roesel’s bush cricket, another moth, a fish jumping out of the water briefly and I heard Chaffinch and Chiffchaff and Yellowhammer well a highlight today.

There really was so much we saw today. On the journey there and back it was nice to see a Little Egret closely from the car near some water, hollyhock, other flowers and some stunning views of the River Arun and the South Downs passing through especially in the sweet evening sun on the way back when at service station we got some splendid views of a fair few Rooks. I saw a Grey Silverfish and took a photo my first for a while before bed tonight and enjoyed nice sky scenes when home tonight. What a phenomenal day of walking and wildlife watching and enjoying taking photos so much. Leaving me positively worn out, a smashing summer Saturday. I hope you all had a nice day.

Honestly, I'm surprised there really aren't any canon iterations of Mr. Mind With spines of any sort. Or with any basis in any more unique real life caterpillars??

Maybe part of it is wanting to keep the joke of Teehee Funny Cute Little Worm Is Evil, but there's SO many caterpillars in this world that are just absolutely wacky and weird and alien looking. There's so much potential inspo to use!

My design is incredibly simplified because... I do want him to look like a goofy and cute little cartoon character. But for his monster form I used a few real life caterpillars as ref, and for his actual final instars (which I still need to draw).

What I'm saying is I'm obsessed with caterpillars and there's so much potential for canon Mr. Mind designs to run with this but they never do.

My Favorite Books I Read in 2023

I read a ton of good novels last year- 36 in all (and uh, 78 manga/graphic novels, but we'll examine that in another post). Here's a link to my Goodreads year in books (the manga is at the beginning, the novels start with Siren Queen) and my storygraph wrap up.

I reread a ton of Discworld this year, and it's as spectacular as ever. But what about new reads?

Well, here are my favorite books I read in 2023!

In the Dream House by Carmen Maria Machado

This is an autobiographical memoir about the abusive relationship the author went through with her ex-girlfriend. It's absolutely gut-wrenching, and at times, achingly beautiful. Machado uses the house she shared with her girlfriend, which she calls the "dream house", as a back drop. It's a place she always wanted and also a place she became trapped in, Machado's language is beautiful as she explores the relationship from different lenses-- The Dream House as Lesbian Cult Classic, the Dream House as Noir, the Dream House as Creature Feature, the Dream House as Stoner Comedy....All facets of the relationship are explored in a way that grips you by the throat and makes you remember everyone who ever tried to suffocate you-- but it also explores the hard work of moving on, of picking up the pieces, of living and embracing tenderness along with hardship.

I especially related to Machado's struggle to talk about abuse between queer lovers because of her fears of giving homophobes more ammunition...and when she says "we deserve to have our wrongdoing represented as much as our heroism, because when we refuse wrongdoing as a possibility for a group of people, we refuse their humanity", I felt that deeply.

This wasn't just one of my favorite books this year, it goes on the list of all-time favorite books. I wish I had this kind of writing style. I'll be returning to this again and again.

Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao

A middle-grade novel about a Chinese-American teen who feels a bit alienated from his heritage, which becomes a bit of an issue once he finds out the First Emperor of China has possessed his A.R. Gaming Headset. Now he needs to close a portal to the underworld with the help of other kids possessed by emporers.

This was a whole lot of fun, and often quite poignant. I was unsure if I could really enjoy middle-grade books as an adult, and this absolutely proves I can. There's a lot of really interesting Chinese history blended with action-packed fantasy, and exploration of the complicated feelings a kid can have about their own heritage . The dynamic between Zachary and Qin Shi Huang was so entertaining with the Emperor being villainous, heroic, charismatic, detestable-- and Zachary realizing how his complicated feelings about him mirror his relationship with his culture at large. There was also a lot of fun with other historical figures, and Xiran's take on Wu Zetian is a joy. (Also, if you like Yu-Gi-Oh!, you'll probably like this, since Xiran says it was one of their influences).

Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle

Rose is young woman who's raised in a fundamentalist Christian household, and she's a devout, obedient daughter. But some weird things are happening. She's seeing a terrifying demon everywhere, insects are coming out of her mouth....and she's possibly having feelings about other girls. What's going on?

Yes, this is by the Chuck Tingle who makes all those Tinglers. But THIS one... will make you tingle with fear! It's a great horror novel! It's skin-crawlingly creepy at times, but also does a great job digging into how fundamentalist dogma harms queer people, and the hypocrisy of such beliefs. The conversion camp aspect is handled tastefully, and overall it was a great spooky read that's also ultimately very affirming, cathartic, and hopeful.

Qualia the Purple by Hisamitsu Ueo

You might go into this thinking it's just a quirky yuri light novel about a schoolgirl and her crush who sees everyone around her as robots (like literally, when she looks at someone she sees a robot instead of a human). But it quickly becomes surreal queer psychological horror steeped in absolutely wild applications of quantum mechanics and thought-provoking time travel. Some of the quantum mechanics exposition dumps were a bit much but I deeply enjoyed having my mind cracked open by this book.

It's one of the most interesting takes of time loop stories I've seen. But it definitely covers a lot of rough subject matter, including a relationship with a serious age gap and extremely messed up relationships, so be cautious if you have triggers.

Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield

This book follows Miri, whose wife goes missing on a deep-sea submarine mission for six months. Miri thought her wife dead, but she miraculously returns one day...but her wife has changed. She's like a stranger. She may have bought the horrors of the sea home with her.

This is a gripping exploration of grief and loss combined with a delicious, slow horror that creeps under your skin. There's excellent Lovecraftian and body horror elements to the novel, but it works very effectively as a metaphor for a loved one going through trauma, and a relationship starting to crumble because everything seems different. A moment that really stuck out to me is when Miri copes with her wife's disappearance by frequenting an online community where women roleplay as wives with husbands missing in space. The way the online drama of the community interacted with her grief was both funny and heartbreaking.

This is another example of a book that makes me deeply jealous with its lyrical writing, and another one for the ever-lengthening all time favorites list.

Otherside Picnic Volume 8: Accomplices No More by Iori Miyazawa

The latest entry in a series about two girls exploring an alternate dimension full of creepypasta monsters, while also falling in love with each other. See my other reviews here and here.

This volume has the payoff to a lot of careful character work and relationship building, and it was completely satisfying. In fact, it was...show-stopping. Spectacular. Incredible. I loved the exploration of how love, sex, and romance are so different for different people and it's impossible to put it in neat boxes. The frank and messy conversation our leads have about their relationship was perfect and so was that absolutely bonkers, wonderful finale. This is another one for the all times favorite list, and I loved it so much I wrote a extremely long review/recap here.

Queer Ducks (and Other Animals): The Natural World of Animal Sexuality by Eliot Schrefer

This was a well-researched, well-crafted, easy to read book that explores queerness (mainly homosexuality, bisexuality, trans and genderfluid expressions in animals, and even the question of if and how animals can related to gender) in the animal kingdom. Though it's definitely aimed at teens, I learned a lot from it (who knew female bonobos were such life goals) and it presented its information in a fun way. It included some interesting examinations of how proof of homosexuality and bisexuality in animals was historically suppressed and filtered through homophobic assumptions. If you want to learn a little animal science in an accessible format, definitely check this out.

Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin

The story follows Mia, a woman in her 20's living with her vampire mother. Her whole life revolves around not drawing suspicion towards her Mom. She also has to make sure to feed her Mom some of her blood every night--lest her mother fall back in with her abusive boyfriend and start hunting humans. But when Mia meets a cute girl, she starts to dream of living her own life...

It was a really interesting use of vampirism as a metaphor for both living with a parent struggling with addiction and having an abusive parent. It's just a well-told, heartwrenching tale that got deep into the character's mindsets. I thought the ending was bit abrupt and rushed, but it did make more sense once I realized this was the first in a duology. It's a fascinating take on vampires, and I'm interested in seeing more.

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty

This novel follows a middle-aged Muslim female pirate living around the Arabian Peninsula. She's supposed to be in retirement, but wouldn't you know it, she's lured in for one last job! I she rescues a kidnapped girl, she'll have all the riches she needs to set her family up for life. So Amina begins her adventure of fighting demons and monsters and ex-husbands. But the job might not be all it seems.

This novel is full of all the entertaining swashbuckling action and shenanigans that any pirate story should have. It's a rollicking good time, and feeds my craving for middle aged women going on quests and kicking ass. Amina's journey is a fun, wild ride full of dynamic characters and interesting mythology!

Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

Juniper is friends with a successful Chinese-American author, Athena Liu, and has always been deeply jealous of her. When Athena dies in front of her, Juniper decides to steal her manuscript rooted in Chinese history and claim it as her own. But plagiarism might catch up with her...

This is a strong example of a book I thought was really well-done, but one I'm probably never going to read again. The way it depicted Twitter drama is just too accurate and I got anxiety. It did such a good job putting you in Juniper's awful shoes so you can feel the pressure close in along with her. The book's commentary on the insidious racism of the publishing industry was effective, and it made a horrible character's journey fascinating to follow. I was so intrigued yet anxious I had to force myself to finish the last few pages.

Bonus read:

Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldtree

A very cute novel about an orc named Viv who decides to retire from the violent life of a bounty hunter and run a coffee shop instead. She ends up getting a lot of assistance from a succubus named Tandri...and my, is that a slow-burn coffee shop romance brewing? This book reminds me a lot of various cozy slice-of-life anime, and it's nice to be getting more of that feeling in book form. I wish there was a little more specific to the fantasy world rather than making it a coffee shop that line up 1 to 1 to a modern day shop, but it was definitely a sweet read.

HAP VALENTINES DAY

2024 Valentines are here!! Last year I did a set of punny kids classroom style Valentine cards, and this year I made a whole new set! They were a ton of fun to paint, and I'm really in love with each one XD

Note: Okay, this brought some good things to my mind...

This was actually an online novel based on Record Of Ragnarok, the story was about Hades and the author's own character, and you couldn't help but read it.

Of course, the author made Persephone the villain, it wasn't something that surprised you. After all, who can tolerate the wife of their favorite character?

And here you are, sure you're not dead, but one morning you woke up and you were in Persephone's body! It was unbelievable, but it was real.

In the original story, Persephone was being executed, you should have gotten rid of that.It was always said that there was no escape from the underground, but Hades made sure of this by feeding the pomegranate to Persephone, but...

You tamed a King and escaped.

To another King.

Leaving great destruction behind.

You were stunned at first, Mythology had always been your interest and you had watched Ragnarok with great pleasure, you had even had a love affair with fan fiction written but... This was crazy!

Hades was a kind man no matter what, and the original novel was 2 months away from starting, which was based on the end of Ragnarok and an unknown.

So, in the same bed with your husband, you started to prepare your escape plan. You lived in your own little world, away from Hades' love, touch and attention.

Of course he noticed, how could it not matter? His lovely wife was getting further and further away from him, and there was nothing he could do.

Time was working in your favor, Hades watched painfully as his wife treated him step by step like a stranger. Then one day news was heard that violently shook the entire underworld.

They say bad news comes quickly. The impact of his escape was far more jarring than he had anticipated. Poseidon's seas rippled with tsunamis, lightning flashed in the sky as if it were pouring down on people, and the underworld was enveloped in the agonized screams of demons.

12 The Greek Gods and all the Gods they dragged with them searched for you in every inch of the land, and with each news he received that they could not find, Hades lost more and more of his cold fortitude.

With equal timing, the person you ran away from was Qin Shi Huang. Who can deal with a King? Another King.

In the last seconds of your life, your eyes touched your eyes, which contained all the glory of purple. He smiled apologetically, not even knowing what he was apologizing for.

"And great warriors saved them all."

"Mama, are they real?"

She smiled weakly, "do you think they are?"

"Yeah, yeah I do. I hope they come for us one day..." Her mother held her hand as the caged walls separating didn't allow close contact between parent and child. All her siblings held their mama's hand as they slept.....

"I-its okay...m-mama's here..." She choked as her children cried, holding her hand from the cage as she struggled to breath, barely able to see them as her bruised swollen face from their master's beating. She looked away as said Master, an four armed reptilian xenos, was being beaten by an white armored Giant. The master begging for mercy as the giant kept beating him, each fist covered in purple blood.

"Avez-vous montré sa pitié ?!" ("Did you show her mercy?!")

Bring down both fists onto the master's face, caving it in as blood splattered onto the warriors armor as the master went limp, arms falling to the side as he stopped moving. The giant looked at her, she held her children's hands as she feared the worst. But he didn't raise a hand against her, kneeling down to her as he took off his helmet, she gasped as she saw a face like her people. With the color of blue sky she saw only once in her youth in his eyes, his eyes were warm as she placed his large armored hand out for her to reach. More warriors came in,

"Est-ce qu'elle ira bien ?" (Will she be alright?) He asked one as a small light washed over her from a machine on his arm.

She watched as the warrior nodded to him as the warrior slowly and carefully began to lift her up, she held onto her children's hand tightly as they did. Her children screaming for her, but the warrior smiled at her, a reassuring smile as she let go. She watched as he gripped the cage doors and effortlessly ripped it off, kneeling down to her frighten children as he too extended his hand to them, they were hesitant till her brave child walked forward.

"Are you the warriors our mama told us about?" He didn't speak their language, but he smiled at her and slowly each child accepted his hand. Carefully and slowly picking all five of them up as she carried them in his arms. Some climbing to his shoulders or head as they left.

She looked, the best she could see as more and more bodies of the slain masters laid strewn about. More giant warriors walked by, followed by smaller warriors as she heard small explosions and screams of her masters fill the halls. She saw her fellow slaves, women and their children as they were led out of this place...

Eventually they neared the exit, something she hadn't seen since she was a child, all were nearly blinded by the light as they hadn't seen the sun in so long, but as their eyes adjusted, ready to see the warships of her masters that filled the skies before she was thrown down here. The huge flag that waved way off distance in the capital above the Palace, but she didn't. No. She saw something else, huge warships she's never seen before! Hundreds of them in the sky as she watched one of the masters ship slowly fall from the sky, exploding as it crash landed in the distance.

The warrior looked at her before they were all gestured to look at something he was pointing at. Soon a giant face of a man appeared in yhe sky above, he had long hair that was the same color as the sun with the same colored eyes as the warrior that held her.

"Les gens de ce monde ! Vous ne me comprenez peut-être pas, mais laissez mes actions vous montrer, vous montrer que nous ne sommes pas là pour des conquérants ! Mais en tant que libérateurs !" (People of this world! You may not understand me, but let my actions show you, show you that we are not here to conquerors! But as your liberators!) He spoke as the flag that once reminded them all who their master's were fell,

"Tu es libre!" (You are free!) He exclaimed, holding the Symbol the Emperor of the master's, it was nothing but pieces as it fell from his hand.

"M-mama! The warriors! There the warriors you told us about!" Her daughter exclaimed happily as the people around them began to weep, falling to their knees. She too crying as the warriors around them began to cheer as well.

the surviving xenos of the World known as Rylk were being rounded up, brought to their knees as their Emperor was dead. Slain by the Primarch Jaune arc. The 11th Legion had freed another world from the darkness, their sacred duty as the defenders of the weak will never cease.

2023: What’s on the horizon for you?

Happy New Year, everyone! 🎆 Giving you all virtual high-fives and energetic hugs. I’ve been seeing in my timeline a lot that people are getting into their soft eras. I liked that so much, I picked out this set of purple-pink skies I captured that I initially had for a different pick-a-card topic. Makes you slow down and watch in awe.

Pile 1

The Emperor (back of the deck), 6 of Swords, The Tower, 9 of Wands

2022 has been all about control and structure in your life. You've created a routine that enables you to complete your day-to-day tasks seamlessly. It could even be that you’ve perfected some kind of system for yourself. You’ve been handling things in a practical approach more than anything. Once you have set your mind to something, you don’t budge.

None of the knowledge you have absorbed has gone to waste. You’ve learned so much because of this dedication. “Bulletproof” came to mind. Any attempts to thwart your plans probably bounce off you, as if you’re made of steel. I have a feeling that there was a need for you to instill such discipline in your life, but at this point, you may have been taking these rules a little too seriously.

Seeing how you like to keep your feet planted on the ground, I believe you need to buckle up for a change, Pile 1. You may not be the type to shake things up from time to time, but there will be a lot of movement in your life this year. It may feel like a rug pulled from under your feet. There is an element of surprise. I feel that most of you may not like to hear that, and I apologize if it causes you distress.

You must know that this change is inevitable and it will manifest one way or another. Despite everything, though, I can see you riding it out. You will make this transition, even if you had to endure some strong discomfort for it. I assure you that you won’t be alone in this. Please don’t be afraid. The ways of the past are about to crumble because they won’t work anymore in contrast to the blazing potential ahead of you. It’s time to learn how to use your determination and willpower without letting them get the best of you. I have complete faith in you, Pile 1. I never see you back down and that already speaks volumes. Hang in there.

Splendid work getting to know who you are on a deeper level for the past year. It’s not an easy journey to go within but kudos to you, Pile 2, because I can see that you’ve learned to trust yourself and let go of the need to control every little thing. Balancing the burden of knowledge with self-compassion is key in this development. You may have spent a great deal in solitude, and look at you having thrived in it! Your Higher Self is radiant and they thank you for taking action, Pile 2.

Now, having shifted into the new year, your focus on your inner world is about to shift as well. The universe encourages you to get back out there. It’s time to get your head out of the clouds and come back down to earth. You know what you want now, having realized them during your period of reflection, and the next step is to turn them into a concrete action plan. I can see that manifesting them in a swift and bold way, owning exactly how you want things to be, is what would work wonders for you.

I really love your energy so far, Pile 2. Dazzling opportunities come your way precisely because they mirror you. There’s so many to choose from, all you have to do is take your pick. You’re a boiling pot of creativity and innovative ideas by yourself.

It doesn’t even stop there because I can see you becoming a source of inspiration for many others. People who may have struggles that are similar to yours in the past will see how amazingly in touch you are with yourself now. What a balm to their soul. An embrace of assurance and a breath of fresh air. You have filled your own cup by putting yourself first. This has then enabled you to help others by sharing yourself, led by the right mind and the right heart.

Knight of Wands (back of the deck), 6 of Wands, 8 of Swords, Queen of Cups, Justice

You’ve made 2022 your oyster, Pile 3. You worked hard and played hard– this would differ for each person, of course, depending on your definition of work and play. It doesn’t have to be related to your job or your studies. It could also mean that you have broken through your confines and started something new in your life, or pursued what you’re passionate about. Whatever it was, it has given you a lot of freedom. So much fearless exploration, and it’s like all those months flew by so fast. What a rich year it has been for you!

You’re coming out on top, and as the new year ushers in, your achievements will be in plain sight. You did it, Pile 3! You’re gonna make it! The world will see how you flourished and admire all the progress you’ve made. Bask in it as you deserve. Remember, though, that gratitude goes a long way in helping the seeds that you have planted grow fruit. Be careful not to let your confidence tip into arrogance.

There is a message here about you not being in touch with your intuition. You may have been ignoring something your gut has been telling you, or you may have deemed any time of quiet and introspection unimportant. King of Pentacles (back of the deck), The Empress, Knight of Swords, 8 of Pentacles Rx

I swear, this year has been all about the hustle for so many of you. If you felt like looking at Pile 1, its message has some similarities to this pile. Anyway, it goes without saying that you’ve been really getting that bread. Congratulations! In a fast-paced and competitive world where it’s hard enough to put one foot in front of the other, you got yourself out there with a discipline that wasn’t easy to cultivate, and you’re rewarded for it. Well done, Pile 4.

This year, it’s time for you to stop and take some time off to smell the roses. Go on a walk, eat something delicious that fills your stomach, and indulge in the luxuries you’ve set aside for so long. Create something with your hands that follows no criteria other than to please yourself. Relax! Relaaax. I say it like that because even though you’re fully entitled to this R & R, you still seem to be quite restless. Your guard is up as if you’re ready for some kind of combat. It’s like, you’re on your phone, waiting and mildly dreading the next thing to do even though it hasn’t come up yet, instead of clicking it shut and turning it face down.

Pile 4. You may have forgotten to live your life, but life hasn’t forgotten about you. You’re being called to freshen up and let your material pursuits and burdens take a rest for a while. Frolic into that imagination of yours and explore the more pleasurable side of your life. It doesn’t have to be extravagant. I bet you can get into the mundane and find the simple things that can make you smile, or remind you of the bigger picture. If it helps, you can still think of keeping your time of play and health in tiptop shape as a form of progress, too. Never mind if society tends to downplay it. Take it easy, Pile 4. You’ll thank yourself later.

Pile 5

The Devil (back of the deck), Strength, Queen of Pentacles, The Sun, The Emperor, Ace of Wands

2022 may have been one of the most nerve-wracking years of your life. I’ll go ahead and say that for some of you, it may have even been the worst. In several ways, you’ve felt trapped, empty, and powerless to change it. You may have been just waiting for it to drag along, putting your hopes into the new year. I’m so sorry to hear that, Pile 5. All you wanted was a little peace in so much chaos. For some, this year you came face-to-face with your demons.

You handled it with so much courage, Pile 5. I can see it shining from you like a ray of light. From the dark night and into the bright morning, you saw your vices illuminated before you and then gently, but firmly, held yourself accountable to them. Working with blockages isn’t an overnight thing. Still, as the Strength card depicts, you tamed that lion not with force, but with grace. It wasn’t easy at all, but you did it. You have no idea how much progress you made. I’m so, so proud of you.

If only I could properly convey the magnitude of blessings coming to you, Pile 5. Whatever it is, it’s gonna make you so happy. I’m telling you, the goods will be flowing and your aura’s gonna shine. “Money can't buy happiness?” Not for you, because this will surely open doors for you. For a few, it doesn’t have to be about finances, but a state of being grounded and surefooted enough to let your hair down. If you think it’s too good to be true, the cards clearly indicate a stability that will take its sweet time, but it will ultimately ease you into experiencing, more easily, a renewed life force. This pile is unbelievable. I only meant to pull three cards, but five fell and three of them are the big Major Arcana energies. Honestly so extra (and I mean it as a compliment). Going back. You’ll have the time of your life, but it doesn’t just stop there. You’ll be building such an enterprise for yourself, you will end up being the boss of something. I think that, when you’ve been revitalized, your visions and creative ideas will also be brought into the light. Promising action plans and strong executions. Hot damn, you’re on fire. You’ll probably surprise yourself a lot throughout this. Blaze that trail, Pile 5. Believe me, it’s happening.

Pile 6

2 of Cups (back of the deck), Queen of Wands, The Tower, The Magician

You’ve found love this 2022. Whether it’s a romance, a trustworthy friend, a promising partnership, or an activity that makes you happy to be alive, you gained genuine connection with someone or something this year. This came at the right moment, when you needed it most, and brought you out of the dumps. A balance of give-and-take that you rarely encounter in your life. Your synchronicity with one another is effortless.

You make quite the force to be reckoned with together. I see that this connection encourages you to come out of your shell. The presence of the other party (whether an individual or an activity) strengthens your will to make a reality out of your wishes. You find new and surprising ways to make use of your resources, and your manifestation skills are skyrocketing. The possibilities are infinite. You may feel unstoppable.

This connection is not without trials and tribulations, though. There’s something significant about change here– not just a simple, day-to-day change, but radical change.
