Summary: A night-hunt goes wrong, and Wei Wuxian is scapegoated for the death of the Jiang Sect Leader and the destroyed core of the Jiang Sect Heir. As punishment, his core is taken and given to Jiang Cheng, and he is stripped of his cultivation credentials and expelled from the sect. What everyone forgot was that Wei Wuxian was wearing the standard issue body camera that each cultivator wore on training missions and high-risk night-hunts. Struggling to make ends meet, Wei Wuxian finds his way to Caiyi Town with the doctor who performed the surgery, a partial core still secretly in place. His application to work at Cloud Recesses is summarily rejected by the hard-edged Second Jade of Lan after an unfortunate initial encounter. But things change when someone hacks into the Jiang systems and releases the footage of what happened. Kay's comments: The series is still a WIP, but the main story is complete! I am so weak for Kizu's modern AUs with cultivation, they are great. Especially the world building and how the cultivation society might function in a modern AU shines in this story. Definitely not a story for fans of the Jiang family, but a story for everyone who wants to see some retribution for the things Wei Wuxian went through. Here, Jiang Fengmian dies during a night-hunt accident where Jiang Cheng's golden core gets destroyed and Madam Yu makes Wei Wuxian give his golden core to him, unfortunately for her, his body-cam is still filming everything. Wei Wuxian finds himself taken in by Wen Qing and her family and we get the sweetest found family and Dadxian vibes here and then meets Lan Wangji as well, who's highly judgemental at first but soon finds himself drawn to Wei Wuxian as well. This story really got it all, the drama, the horny, the softness, the restitution & humor. Excerpt: Still Wei Wuxian forced himself to at least try one last time. “You could also interview me. Have me talk to your best talisman experts,” Wei Wuxian said, forcing himself to keep the desperation out of his voice. “Interviews are scheduled based on receipt of proper credentials and references.” “I don’t have any, at least not right now. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be a great teacher.” “No references, no interview.” “Come on. Look, ask me anything about talismans. You’re an experienced cultivator, right? So you must know enough to at least interview me to see if I know what I’m talking about.” “Simply ‘knowing about something’ is not sufficient. Our lecturers are renown cultivators, and masters in their fields. No references, no interview.” Wei Wuxian felt frustration well up in him, especially at the reminder that Lan Wangji didn’t see him as a cultivator. No one would, in his current condition. Because it would be impossible for someone who wasn’t born to the fucking clan nobility to ever actually be good at something, and the cost of taking the mastery test makes sure that other people can’t do it!” Lan Wangji’s lips parted slightly, like he might say something, but his expression was as opaque and emotionless as before. Wei Wuxian didn’t need to sit around and listen to him defend the clan system. “Good to know that the Lan are just the same as all the other sects,” Wei Wuxian continued, his lips twisting into a sarcastic smile. “Thanks for making that clear.”

Summary: Wei Wuxian accidentally sends a slightly dirty-sounding email to one of the teachers at the school he is principal of, and it ensures in some sexy times.

Wei Wuxian already decided he was moving to a new country and changing his name. He was royally fucked, and the worst part is he didn’t know what he could do to change what happened. Staring at him from his computer was the reason he was definitely about to lose his job.

“Come in,” he said hesitantly, and of course in walked Lan Wangji himself. Wei Wuxian felt his heart stop as Lan Wangji shut the door behind him. “Ah, Lan Zhan! I am surprised you are still here this late on a Friday night. Most teachers have already gone ho-” Before Wei Wuxian could finish his sentence, Lan Wangji pulled him into a bruising kiss. Wei Wuxian let out a gasp before he was pulling Lan Wangji against him. Lan Wangji let out a groan and he flipped them around to press Wei Wuixian against his desk. “Ah! Lan.. Lan Zhan wait.” Lan Wangji pulled away, and Wei Wuxian tried to catch his breath. “As much as I am enjoying this, and trust me... I am fully onboard with whatever happens... but I am slightly confused.” Lan Wangji raised his eyebrows at Wei Wuxian, and he stepped back slightly. Wei Wuxian tightened his grip on Lan Wangji’s waist, and Lan Wangji relaxed marginally.

“I... I saw your email and assumed..” He paused, and Wei Wuxian raised his eyebrows. “I assumed it was you attempting to flirt with me?” Wei Wuxian let out a chuckle, and Lan Wangji narrowed his eyes. Waving his worry off, Wei Wuxian pulled Lan Wangji in for a quick kiss.

“Ah, Lan Zhan... I am fearful to admit that it was a case of sending the email too early. But, I am starting to thank the universe for the outcome of this error if it means I get to do this.” He reached up to pull Lan Wangji back into a crushing kiss, and Lan Wangji groaned into it. Testing the limits, Wei Wuxian slipped his tongue between Lan Wangji’s lips and felt the other shiver at the motion. Shifting so he was sitting on his desk, Wei Wuxian pulled Lan Wangji closer by wrapping his legs around his waist. Lan Wangji ran his hands up Wei Wuxian’s back as they continued to kiss fiercely, and Wei Wuxian pulled Lan Wangji’s tucked in shirt out in retaliation. With his shirt free, Wei Wuxian ran his hands up Lan Wangji’s back under the shirt. They pulled apart after a moment, both panting in the space between them.

“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji panted out. Oh, Wei Wuxian thought, I could get used to hearing him say my name like that , “does your door lock?” Wei Wuxian nodded, and Lan Wangji pulled away momentarily. Walking over to the door, he flicked the lock, and for good measure pulled the blind down over the window. The window behind Wei Wuxian’s desk faced out into the parking lot below, and it was moments like this he was extremely grateful for a third floor office. Coming back around, Lan Wangji crowded back into Wei Wuxian’s space and started working the belt off of his pants. Wei Wuxian did the same, until both of their pants were unbuttoned enough that he could properly get his hands on Lan Wangji.

“Lan Zhan, in my bag on the ground there is lube and condoms.” Lan Wangji quirked his eyebrow as he pulled out the little bottle and condom. "Wei Ying, this does not resolve the issue of my third period being empty." Wei Wuxian paused and thought about that. Suddenly he grinned.

"Well, we will just have to have those meetings I proposed. This one was informative enough, we may need to have more." Lan Zhan groaned and shook his head at Wei Wuxian who simply laughed and kissed his cheek in response.

happy mid-autumn festival!!! i hope it's a day of good fortune and reunion for everyone! i yearn for the day in which i am able to eat a mooncake.

3. I'm tryibg to find a wonderful Wangxian fic i read a few months ago, which I don't seem to have bookmarked or saved. Wei Ying & Lan Zhan travel one of the Silk Road caravan routes all the way to the outpost near the Jade Gate. I think Wei Ying was the one who wanted to go there, but he was vague about why. There are all kind of sub plots going on - i think some of the Wen are blending in out there, there's also a bit about ghosts (i think) of the Tarim Basin mummies - one of their resting places was violated. I’m looking for a fic I read some time ago (can’t even say I liked it, just in the mood). It was a modern AU where WWX and JC are raising JL together, but have to work at a sex line (JC) and strip club (WWX, not sure about this one) to make ends meet (there was also a scene of JL finding out). Then, they bump into the Lan brothers in separate incidents the same day and give them their cards.

I remember there was a seen where Wei Wuxian recited everything Lan Xichen said to him to Lan Wangji. It points out how unfair it was to expect Wei Wuxian to realize Lan Wangji was in love with him, and that even if he did, he shouldn't be expected to drop everything je was doing (you know, like protecting the Wens) just to make Lan Wangji "happy."
