Sam Wilson, Black Panther and Scarlet Witch are standing on the pile of destroyed Stark Sentinels when they hear a distress call from Impossible City. They figured out that someone is Orchis is smart enough to come up with a dirty trick by sending the Stark Sentinels to attack Impossible City the temporary shelter for mutant refugees, instead of attacking the Avengers. Iron Man gets a distress call from a girl called Yuna Yang who tells him that Impossible City is under the attack. Yuna Yang is the girl who obtained the Nega-Bands which allows her to swap places with Carol Danvers by clanging the bands together like the previous wearers used to do on other Captains Marvels (e.g. Rick Jones used the bands to swap places with Mar-Vell a long time ago) and Yuna is from the recent Alyssa Wong's Captain Marvel series.

Anyways, the other Avengers - Iron Man, Thor, Vision and Scarlet Witch go out to destroy the Stark Sentinels in space. Yuna Yang clangs her Nega-Bands to let Carol take her place so that she could join her teammates. Meanwhile, the other two Avengers - Black Panther and Sam Wilson go to Orchis space station to confront Delroy Garrett Jr, a.k.a. 3-D Man the former Avenger. 3-D Man had joined Orchis because he believed that the Avengers were ungrateful for his actions with the Skrull invasion (actually 3-D Man killed Crusader the good Skrull who helped the heroes and this pissed a lot of heroes off), even claiming they threw him out of the Initiative instead of him actually leaving on his own. Sam Wilson and Black Panther fight 3-D Man until the latter (Black Panther) utters his Old Wakandan language to seemingly deprogram him from brainwashing. Black Panther manages to get into 3-D Man's mind and tells him that he's needed to help in shutting down the Stark Sentinels. It turns out that 3-D Man is an undercover agent and the hypnosis was planted into him to keep M.O.D.O.K from probing his mind and getting suspicious. Once 3-D Man regains himself, he manages to shut down the Stark Sentinels.

you trudged out of the elevator of your apartment complex and heaved a heavy sigh when you reached the door that read 143. unlocking the door, you kicked off your shoes before walking in and immediately searching for any sign of Yuna in the living area to no avail. exasperatedly, you head to her room where you find the girl lying under her duvet, scrolling through her phone. it was now 12:27pm as you crawl beside her huffing loudly as you do so all while you curl up into her side.

"how was the cafe?" she asked, not looking up from her phone. you pondered on her question, "okay.. I guess." she cocks an eyebrow as a small smile graces her lips, "just okay? what happened?"

"well, the other day, I met this guy at the cafe and I ran into him again today. we sat and talked for about an hour and swapped numbers but it was weird. not weird but we talked like we've known each other our whole lives. then I was walking around campus and I got lost. and this guy came and walked me back here but guess what? he was cafe boy's friend!" you rambled, eyes widening.

Yuna stayed silent for a few seconds, seemingly trying to process what the hell you were talking about. " do you think you like him? either one of them actually?" you quickly shook your head, "I felt really comfortable around them though. y'know I hate being around people but when I was talking to them I felt at ease. and when I talked to cafe boy's friend, I realized he's just like me."

"speaking of which.." your voice trailed as you turned on your puppy dog eyes. yuna's eyes widened slightly, "oh God what did you do?"

"why must you always assume that I'm the one doing something? anyway I wanted to ask you something."

"you're always doing something dumb so it wouldn't be off brand for you." she shrugs.

you stick your tongue out at her prior to taking a deep breath, "do you wanna go to cafe boy's party with me later? his friends are having a party in their dorm and he invited me and a few friends."

yuna slowly nods, "oh. yeah, for sure. I'll come with." you gave her a lopsided grin before pulling your phone out of your pocket.

you : why did it take so long to text me back???

felix 💟 : im playin league of legends

you : oh you : computer nerd you : anyway wanna come with me and yuna to Christopher's party?

felix 💟 : im goin felix 💟 : seungmo already invited me felix 💟 : ohhh he told me to extend the invite to you but I forgot. so. you're invited.

you : ... I should block you

"Felix is going too. Seungmin invited him. I didn't know Seungmin was friends with Christopher.."

"Seungmin's an.. odd creature. love him for it though." yuna giggled. you bite your bottom lip, looking up at Yuna. "you think I should invite Jeongin?" she shrugs, like she always does when she doesn't wanna answer a question.

"useless" you mutter while she throws you a scowl.

you : innie you : inniee you : jeongin

innie <3 : hey what's up?

you : wanna go with us to a party tonight?

innie <3 : I would love to but I can't. I gotta meet up with Soojin tonight to help finish her essay. tonight is the only time she isn't working this week.

right. of course he was busy with Soojin.

you : oh alright. we can hang out another day 💟

the overwhelming feelings of jealousy and anger began to arise in you once again as tears brimmed your eyes. of course he'd be with soojin. of course he wouldn't be able to make time for his best friend for a girl that ignored him until two days ago.

once the anger and sadness began to sink in, so did fatigue. espresso can really only do so much. you felt yourself begin to drift off to sleep while you buried yourself further into Yuna's bed.

"sorry JJ, I'm hanging out with Soojin right now." "can't, I'm with soojin." "helping soojin right now, I'll call you back." "I really like Soojin. she's so pretty and smart and..." "I just like being with Soojin. I'm sorry." "sometimes I just enjoy Soojin's company better than yours." "my god JJ why can't you just accept that I don't like you anymore?" "JJ I don't think you're a good friend or have the mindset of one."

you woke up gasping, a thin sheen of sweat plastered across your forehead. these reoccurring nightmare of Jeongin replacing you were taking a toll on you. it was as though his words were clawing at your throat, rendering you speechless. at first, when jeongin would show up in your sleep, you felt safe. happy. you felt like it only went to show further that the two of you were soulmates. soul tied.

but now, every time Jeongin would appear in one of your dreams, you felt a lump in your throat. the way he looked - no, glared - at you with disgust and hatred felt like someone had punched you in the gut. and what was even worse was that sometimes you felt like these dreams were becoming a reality. like the one person who had provided you a shelter from the cruel world had now thrown you to the wolves.

when you looked around focusing your eyes, you realized you were still in Yuna's bed but she wasn't beside you; she wasn't even in her bedroom anymore.

not to mention that it broke you, feeling like you couldn't talk to anyone about your suppressed feelings for Jeongin. about the nightmares. of course, you already had two friends who knew about your feelings for your best friend. but you couldn't tell them about the nightmares. they'd judge you. then they'd leave you. they'd expose you and you would become a laughingstock. a joke.

you picked up your phone with a shaky hand and the screen read 2:13pm. it also read a message from Yuna, 14 minutes ago.

yuna <33 hey babes, I went out for a walk (aka I was forced to go outside by Lia.) ill be back in a bit !!

you chuckled a bit at the message. you only met Lia a handful of times - at game nights, Yuna's showcases, etc. you thought she was really cool but had never actually become her friend.

you laid and sulked some more in yuna's bed until some time had passed and the front door to your apartment clicked. yuna called out for you and you responded in some incoherent words, indicating that you were still right where she left you. "so what time is this party?" Yuna asked as the bed dipped and she laid down. you quickly texted Christopher and he gave you all the information, including when the party started. "so if the party starts at 7pm.. and its 3:32 right now.. do I have time to take another nap?" you tilted your head, as much as you hated the nightmares, you needed to sleep. desperately. "yeah. but I'm gonna start getting ready now. perfection takes time, y'know." yuna grinned. you nodded, already dozing back off to sleep.

why had it suddenly gotten so hot? you opened your eyes and was surrounded by nothing but darkness. it engulfed you, no matter where you turned. then the heat made sense. fire. was the apartment on fire? why couldn't you move? what was happening?

then a figure appeared. you couldn't make out his face; the flames warbled his features and the room was too dark.

"this is all your fault."

your eyes snapped open. what the fuck was happening to you? did that qualify as a jeongin nightmare? you weren't even sure if it was jeongin. you glanced around the room and inhaled deeply, thankful that your nose wasn't attacked by the smell of flames. you sort of rolled off Yuna's bed, grabbing your phone in the process, as you exited her room, walking into your own and releasing yourself back onto your bed.

holding the phone up to your face, it now read 5:24pm. you shouted for Yuna and she came scrambling into the room, "help me find something to wear. pretty please?" you smiled.
