Was kind of quiet at first but settled in eventually and opened up a bit

Was still kind of reserved but that’s to be expected from him

Really liked the salad your mother made and asked for the recipe

Did give him a discount code for some random protein powder that he’s sponsored by though

GOJO SATORU

Solid 7/10

Goofs around a lot but he did come so he gets points for that

Your parents hated him at first but then he showed them the album of cute Megumi pictures he has saved on his phone and they switched up

“He’s so responsible for raising a kid so young! And it’s not even his!”

Bullshit

He does NOT raise Megumi and you were the one who sent him half of those pictures

Demoted to a 6/10 just for that but at least your parents like him

Also the fact that he had an album was cute

Somehow managed to keep the dirty jokes to a minimum

Your brother kept making fun of his eyes being so blue so halfway through he had to switch the glasses out for the blindfold

Honestly really a fun guy!

He did compose himself and came back to eat

Can handle spicy food quite well

Complimented your mother’s cooking

Was super sweet and grateful to be invited at all

INUMAKI TOGE

Everyone was really excited to meet him

Let your cousins play with his hair and do his make up and paint his nails

Was your partner for Charades and you two won by a LOT

Kept sneaking treats to your dogs

Your mother ordered seafood for him because he could only speak in rice ball ingredients and she thought he really wanted salmon

He did eat it though

Somehow lit the grill on fire

Managed to put it out but he did lose his eyebrows in the process unfortunately

Looked stupid without eyebrows

Spent most of his time hanging out with the little kids

He’s too sweet to dislike

Helped wash the dishes and did not break any

Showed up an hour late

Was friendly but kinda nervous and awkward at first

Loved the food

Some people might say that Oscar and y/n aren't well paid. Those people would be wrong. And Oscar will tell them as much.

Before he met y/n, admittedly his world was a lot more quiet and held a lot less philosophical questions to think about. But he's also say it was boring and y/n's perspective on the world, which she tells him all about because sharing her thoughts with him is a way that she shares her love, is one of the best thing he can listen to during his day.

Zak has overhead y/n talking before and joked that y/n is like Oscar's own personal podcast.

"Did you know that some the stars we see are dead? Because the speed of light means that we're seeing them how they were 4000 years ago." Y/n states making Oscar smile since he does sometimes wonder not only where y/n learns this stuff but where she stores it all. "A lot of them are still alive but some of them are dead."

"I hope your favourites aren't dead." Oscar comments making her turn and grin, and it's the grin she gets when she's about to make an awful cheesy comment. Something she does often just because it makes Oscar all flustered, no matter how bad it is.

"Well my favourite and brightest star is definitely very fit and alive. Aren't you?"

Oscar groans shaking his head at her while she just grins proudly at him then stealing a kiss while his face is flushed.

"Baby, that was bad." Oscar laughs lightly before smiling as she just shrugs unapologetic about it.

"I think one day we should go to one of those astronomy places where they project the sky onto the ceiling and just talk about the stars."

Y/n would get bored after 10 minutes and Oscar would probably fall asleep, it also won't happen because y/n has a million and ten date ideas that have been suggested and then never mentioned again.

"Can we go to the beach now we're back in Melbourne?" Y/n asks making Oscar smile.

"Yes, of course we can." Oscar confirms making her grin.

Y/n starts to ramble about going to the beach and suggests taking some of the team.

Obviously Oscar in Australia means that he's getting most of the attention from the fans. Most of them support him or Daniel. Right now, primarily him because he's the new young talent who is showing promising potential for a big future in F1.

Sitting in the McLaren unit on the Thursday for media, a lot of it isn't filled with a whole lot. They get to have a lot of breaks between media duties.

"I love your helmet." Y/n comments as she lies on the sofa with his helmet on her stomach then she gasps sitting up making Oscar raise his eyebrows at her. "I just had the most amazing idea-well if you like the idea-"

"I will." Oscar assures her since he's never not liked an idea she's came up with.

"We could both design one side of a helmet. Even if you don't use it, it sounds fun."

He does love it. Mainly because at the beginning of his F1 career, y/n was really scared to be overly involved. It didn't take him long to notice she was really sort of dodging being involved with it.

"Which race are you thinking? Or do you want to do it for the next home race?" Oscar questions making her smile a little. "Go on, I know you have a race in mind."

"Well, since you've asked. I think it'd be fun to design your helmet for Singapore." Y/n states earning a smile from Oscar. "It's one of my favourite races and you had such a cool helmet last year, so it wouldn't be unusual to have a special helmet. I just like the idea of it. I don't know what my half would be but Singapore is quite a while away."

"That's true." Oscar confirms then smiling lightly at her. "I love you."

"I love you too. So much. Like...a lot." Y/n grins then grinning as she moves over and kisses the Aussie only for Lando to walk in.

"Ah! My eyes! My poor innocent eyes!" Lando exclaims earning a laugh from the young woman while Oscar just smiles.

"I know you're not trying to convince me that your eyes are even the slightest bit innocent." Y/n snorts earning a dramatic gasp from the Brit with his hand going to his chest.

"Alright, but Oscar is innocent." Lando states earning a smirk from the young woman.

"For your sanity-"

"Yeah, going to stop you there." Oscar smiles covering her mouth while Lando laughs.

Sometimes Oscar likes to hear y/n talk for hours on purpose. Like he says something to trigger her into a mass of thoughts that she can't filter and shares with him just speaking everything she thinks.

One of his favourite things to listen to her talk about is how she pictures their future.

"Baby." Oscar mumbles making her look up at him since they're in the hotel, a couple days earlier than the race weekend required purely to adjust to the timezone a bit more. "How do you picture our future?"

"Short or long term?" Y/n asks already excited to talk about it.

There's something so comforting about the fact that y/n really feels secure enough to not fear talking about how confident she is in their future together and how she has plans for it already.

"Both." Oscar smiles gently before he watches her shift a little purely out of being excited to do this.

"So short term, my Oscar Piastri is going be champion within a couple years." Y/n grins earning a hum of approval from him. "And possibly within 5 years we might be engaged."

5 years is a stretch. It's a generous window for him, her way of trying to not put any pressure on him about it and he knows it. But she'll be lucky to get out of 2025 without a ring on her finger from him.

"Then a wedding somewhere warm, preferably Australia because it's home." Y/n goes on practically gushing over the idea of their wedding. "As much as I'd love to see you as a girl dad with too many daughters to comprehend. I think I'll get pregnant and we'll have a little boy and then two girls."

"A boy and two girls ok." Oscar nods earning a grin before she flaps her hand excitedly at him.

"We'll be the best parents, not just parenting but we'll just be the milf and dilf of F1." Y/n beams earning a small laugh. "That's short term, there's just going to be F1, marriage and raising kids. Long term, when you eventually retire, we'll just live full time in Australia. The kids will be hitting the teen years, getting into whatever hobbies they've got. Maybe karting, maybe biking-maybe anything! We'd obviously be the type of parents who support any endeavour."

"Obviously."

"And they'd get to brag about their dad."

"Oh I'm a bragging right?"

"I brag about you."

Oscar grins at that because he knows she absolutely spends a lot of time bragging about him and she's unapologetic about it.

"What else is in our future?"

"Mmm...I think we'll travel a lot outside of work. I also think we'll keep our kids to us. They don't need to be in the limelight unless whatever they want to pursue requires it." Y/n hums earning a nod from Oscar since he knows she's yet to delve into what she wants to talk about with him.

"Names?"

"Boy is going to be called Connor. Because Connor Piastri because I've always like the name Connor. Then we're going to have Eden and Mabel Piastri. Because they're pretty names even if they're for old women."

"So they'll be Piastri's?" Oscar questions though he's only joking since he knows y/n loves his last name.

"We'll all be Piastri's."

Fuck did he say by the end of 2025? No. He's getting a ring before the end of the month.

Last night, as part of my 31 nights of Halloween movies I watched Crimson Peak (with my parents btw) because I was so convinced it was a vampire movie that I literally wrote it into something before I saw the movie thinking "heehoo people are going to enjoy this little reference" and then it wasn't. I was so so ready for vampire Tom Hiddleston to get stabbed with a stake and maybe drink someone's blood. I'm not going to say I was disappointed because I don't think that's the right word (the production design is absolutely beautiful) but I think I will say "hey. What the fuck did I just watch".

If I had a nickel for every time Tom Hiddleston played a rich soft goth anti-hero little-brother character who has a dead mother, shitty dead father, and a weirdly incestuous relationship with an insane woman who likes knives, and also stabs someone without the intention to kill but instead just out of convenience, then I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's really weird that it happened twice.

I'm sorry I still can't get over how funny his whole character twist is.

They build up this character as Mr. Perfect (he's rich! He's fancy! He's new in town!) And his big twist is that he's a huge fucking nerd getting pegged by his sugar-sister-mommy-dommy who's killing the women he "marries" for him for money so he can play with his trinkets and build a machine.

#it didn't convince them that I don't have a crush on Tom Hiddleston #he had his FULL ASS OUT in that one scene what the fuck #Like him and the practical production pieces (the cgi ones were not as good) seriously carried the movie #Ok ok but like full review though:#it tried and kind of failed to do the whole 'Misery' thing and relied on way too many tropes for the story to really land #as scary or disturbing IMO. Like for me it was in this awkward state between Pride and Prejudice/Beauty and the Beast and The Shining #and neither element really felt right or shined through enough to make the movie great #most of the rest of the dialogue was awkward or flat and didn't land properly unless it was mr. Tom Hiddleston speaking #and many pieces tried to do that weird edgy thing that almost never works #The set design and practical gore effects are really the thing that let the movie shine #there's all this symbolism and these interesting motifs throughout that you can pick out of the Victorian sets that are just amazing #but it's pretty mid #a select few scenes absolutely rock and go extremely hard #but they're so few and far between idk if it makes it worth it #also I wanted more gore less sex but that's a personal gripe #oh and one last thing #I fucking loved 'the machine'' it's my favorite Victorian trope it has such good noises and makes a really horrible atmosphere #anyway... um... idk what to give this movie.... 6/10?#fun but pretty average #goat talk #crimson peak #crimson peak spoilers

Rating Non-Disney Animated Horse Designs

I’m back by popular demand/well not really but my optimism’s grand

A sequel to my Disney horse Rating post for all the other random non-Disney horses. Dreamworks, Bluesky, random cartoons, anything I could find. Featuring: Altivo, Spirit, some Barbie horses, and a few abominations.

Horse (Sing)

6/10 I don’t hate it and I feel like I should because it’s really hard to anthropomorphize horses that much without making them into the stuff of nightmares.

Shadowfax (The Lord of the Rings)

5/10 There’s nothing WRONG with him per se, but it’s SHADOWFAX. Lord of all horses. He should wow me, and he doesn’t. Check out Gandalf’s weird sock-boots though.

Hervé (Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper)

-6/10 Horses' mouths don’t look like that. Horses’ mouths should not look like that. This thing wants to eat human flesh but can’t because it has two solid curved huge teeth with no physical relationship with its jaw. Also this horse has the beginnings of male-pattern baldness.

Princess Brietta (Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus)

1/10 Her eyes are flat like they’ve been painted onto her socketless skull. And there’s something very off-putting about this shade of pink.

Beauty, Merry Legs, Ginger (Black Beauty)

4/10 Ginger isn’t ginger. That is not a sorrel horse. There’s ONE requirement. Beauty’s the best of the three which is I guess what counts.

Hans, Klaus and Greta (Ferdinand)

2/10 I hate them so much. The core design isn’t that bad but the way they move and pose is. No horse should make that face. The one on the left is stretched putty.

The Grand Chawhee (All Dogs Go to Heaven)

I know what you’re thinking-- “isn’t that a mule or a donkey of some sort?” No. He’s a racehorse. Maybe a thoroughbred. And it’s his birthday so the other horses let him win.

Stella (All Dogs Go to Heaven)

1/10 She gets one point for being nice to Chawhee. But she’s clearly some sort of alien giraffe hybrid.

Odette’s horse (Swan Princess)

7/10 Just a nice little palomino design.

That little shaggy pony (The Quest for Camelot)

12/10 Amazing. Look at the determination.

Buck (Barnyard)

2/10 See this is what that horse from Sing COULD have looked like.

The Horse in the Back, Not Klaus But I Couldn’t FInd a Better Picture (Klaus)

9/10 He matches his owner and I respect that

Leah (The Star)

4/10 This is horse is voiced by Kelly Clarkson. That has nothing to do with her rating, I just thought you should know.

8/10 for both. I have questions but I do not want answers. It’s better this way.

Fred (Over the Garden Wall)

7/10 don’t love that his head is a different color than his body in a weird way but he looks neurotic and fun.

The Chariot Horses (Prince of Egypt)

8/10 I’ve just always liked these guys with their square faces and fun hats.

Altivo (The Road to El Dorado)

7/10 Look at the little curl in his mane. Good personality. A little too much “Dreamworks Face”

Donkey in Horse Form (Shrek 2? one of the Shreks)

3/10 Look at his face. I DREAD what he might have to say.

Esmeralda, Esperanza, Ernestina (Madgascar 3)

2/10 They’re coming for you. Coming to drag you into the Abyss.

Police Horse (Madagascar)

7/10 I like his face shape. Compare him to the Madgascar 3 horses-- look how much more identifiable as a horse he is.

Melvin (The Lorax)

10/10 He’s not a horse, but he’s so fluffy I love him.

Babieca (Puss in Boots)

4/10 This horse has dead eyes.

Onyx (Rise of the Guardians)

13/10 She’s the leader of the nightmares and I would fully support her terrorizing the dreams of children. I’m pretty sure she and her mares ate the boogie man. A true Girlboss.

Yi Min (Kung Fu Panda but I think just an online game)

-20/10 Just from a design perspective there’s far too much going on so it’s hard to even make it all out. Also I would have zero idea that this was a horse if the wiki page didn’t tell me it was. It has split hooves?

Spirit Jr. (Spirit: Riding Free)

8/10 Objectively I know the design is good but my heart rebels against this show’s existence.

Boomerang Thomas Stone (Spirit: Riding Free)

8/10 I’m not doing all the horses from this show but I had to throw him in because he’s cute and he has a middle and last name for some reason.

Horse (Centaurworld)

Why are there two distinctly different designs for her? This one gets a 9/10. The round one is like... a 5. All the other creatures in this show are eldritch abominations that will haunt me in my sleep now.

Esperanza and all the other horses from this movie (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron)

10/10 No notes. Perfect horses.

Rain (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron)

15/10 I don’t have a joke here I just really like the way they differentiated her and made her pretty without too much anthropomorphizing. I like that she has a roman nose. I like her feather.

Spirit (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron)

100/10 He’s everything. He shaped me as a person. No other animated horse can compare.

So Carmilla knew who Vaggie really was and just, didn’t give a shit? Love her for that

I love Rosie. Her design, her personality, she’s amazing. She was so sweet to Charlie when she didn’t have to be and actually listened to her and encouraged her (points for the relationship advice)

So Alastor is on someone’s leash and he’s trying to wiggle his way out of it, the Vees are plotting (of course they are), and LUTE KNOWS LILITH?! THEY MADE SOME KIND OF DEAL?!

I’m so so curious about how Lute and Lilith know each other and why Lute would want her to deal with her daughter

But this implies that Adam had a previous deal with Lilith regarding something we don’t know yet, since Lute said she was in charge now that he was dead and that their deal pertained to her now

ALSO?! You’re telling me that’s what Adam looked like under his mask?! (I still loathe him but lowkey he was hot I’ll be honest right now)

Sir Pentious telling Cherri he loved her was so sweet

I soaked up every single scrap of Huskerdust I could within those last two episodes they own my soul and I’m so excited to see more of them in season 2

So it looks like Vox thinks Alastor is missing again which is why he’s plotting with the other Vees, but Alastor showed back up at the hotel during repairs so that might not last long

Alastor’s fight with Adam was so good holy shit omfg plz give me more of Alastor’s powers that shield was so cool and his verse in that final song gave me chills like, oh my god he was so mad and I’m here for it

And Lucifer showing up and telling Charlie she changed his heart and mind about the sinners? He is so precious plz protect this duck loving man at all costs

Charlie and Vaggie’s More Than Anything Reprise? Please I am sobbing they love each other so much it hurts

To top it all off- Alastor having beef with literally everyone will never not be funny. Fucking Susan? Are you kidding me. I was laughing so hard. Rosie seems like she deals with Susan a lot and Alastor calling her an Ornery Bitch was so fucking funny for no reason.

Everyone has beef with Susan now.

There is so much I have to say about this show and I could literally talk about it for years but for now I will be repeatedly listening to the soundtrack and impatiently waiting for season 2 because I no longer have the will to live after I sobbed on my bedroom floor over this show. VIVIENNE I AM IN YOUR WALLS-

It wasn't often that Blade strayed outside the mission.

Just as the sword he wielded, Blade cut through his missions with precise cuts, following Elio's script like law. While Kafka and Silver Wolf would take liberties with their scripts, going off to shop or to fight, Blade stayed at his designated spot, staring blankly at the clock until he was called upon once more. He never did more, never did less.

So to see him gazing off into the distance, a hint of a smile on his face, was definitely out of the ordinary.

"What's on your mind, Bladie?" Kafka asked, her pupil-less eyes peering at her partner from behind her drink. "It's rare to see you so... restless. Has the mara been bothering you?"

Blade shook his head, a disgruntled sigh escaping him. His gaze reached past Kafka, focusing on the silhouette of your person as you chatted away with Dan Heng.

Kafka hummed, tilting her head as she played with her straw, mindlessly stirring her beverage. "Hm... Then is it them?"

Blade's fingers stilled. Kafka smiled, knowing she had hit the spot.

"So it is," she mused, stifling a giggle as Blade shot her an annoyed look.

"They're talking to him," Blade muttered, laying his hand flat against the table. Surprisingly, the mara did not strike, nor did Blade become irritated. His voice was gentle, soft like the breeze.

"Indeed they are," Kafka took a sip, licking her lips at the burn of alcohol. "Do you wish that was you, Bladie?"

Her teasing wasn't lost on the man, but he didn't bother with a reply.

"No," Blade murmured, resting his head in the palm of his hand. The artificial sunlight of the Xianzhou bathed you in a heavenly glow, your carefree laughter a sweet symphony. "I wouldn't dare disturb such beauty."

And yet, it seemed as though fate had glanced his way, just as you had. Your eyes met with his, and you smiled, waving at him. Blade's heart thudded in his chest, and for a moment, life returned to him.

His hand twitched, wanting to return your greetings, but the rough drag of his bandages stopped him. Blade averted his gaze, hiding his slowly flushing skin behind his palm.

Kafka snickered at his predicament, quickly snapping a photo of his flustered state and sending it to the other Stellaron Hunters. Instantaneously, Silver Wolf sent back a vomiting emoji, while Sam excitedly congratulated Blade on his newfound emotions. Elio didn't reply, he never does.

"Aren't you adorable," she cooed, turning her phone off and tucking it away. "You know, I doubt they'll mind if you just walked up to them."

Yes, you certainly wouldn't mind. However, your very disturbed friends would.

"What are you doing?" Dan Heng hissed as you waved to the Hunter, grabbing your wrist and snatching it down. "You know how dangerous that man is."

"But isn't he so cute?" you chuckled, the tips of your ears flushed. "Besides, he hasn't done anything to hurt me yet."

"Yet being the operative word," Dan Heng sighed in exasperation. "I hope you didn't forget how he threw a sword through me."

"I try not to think about it." You stretched back your arms. "Don't get your tail in a twist, Dan Heng. I'm just being friendly."

"That's not what your face says," Dan Heng commented, poking your cheek. "I can still see you mooning over him."

"I am not- mooning over him!" you objected, swatting his finger away. "I was just... thinking."

"Of course you are. Thinking of the man who stabbed me, that is."

"And he looked good doing it- Dan Heng!" you yelped as Dan Heng elbowed you. Your friend only crossed his arms, raising a brow at you as you glared at him. "Alright, alright, fine. I just- I know I shouldn't like him, but..."

"There's a but in this?"

"His arms are really toned, okay? Have you seen his muscles?"

Dan Heng gagged, pretending to throw up over the railing. "Far closer than I'd like to admit- Point being, he's a wanted criminal."

You stared blankly at him. "So?"

Dan Heng stared back. "What do you mean, 'so'?"

"I can fix him."

The only words you could use to describe Dan Heng's face was pure disappointment. Swiftly, he turned on his heel, and promptly walked away from you, quickening his steps as you chased after him.

"Hey! Where're you going so quickly-"

Dan Heng stopped for only a moment, his expression unreadable as he glanced back at you. "I don't talk to people who kiss wanted criminals."

Once they Finally found out that it was you, it could’ve made anyone slap their heads because the only fashion shows Nanami would be seen at were yours. There’s clips of you and him talking after shows yet, no one could’ve guessed that you were married to the famous actor.

. You didn’t necessarily pay much attention towards your and Kentos little “outing”. You had other things to focus on, such as your new fashion line. This line to months to make and you’d be damned if you let Kentos littles fans distract you.

After pushing through the rest of the dinner, and simultaneously creating a new plan inside his head, he’s currently slowly waking up again.

The bed in this home truly is amazing, and he makes a mental note to ask Maria after this trip what kind of mattress she uses here. One look to the side offers him a good look at you still fast asleep, hugging one of the pillows while your legs are very much thrown entirely over his lower body. You always sleep this close to him- and he loves it, wouldn’t have it any other way if ever asked. Even his hand is still holding yours- something you do even if you end up fighting. Or rather, most of the time.

During your biggest low yet, he’d only been able to latch his hand onto the hem of your shirt maybe, and even then, only if you were asleep already.

But right now, you’re fine again- and he can hold you as much as he sees fit once more. So he sleepily reaches over to pull you close, just to freeze halfway through it, remembering yesterday’s dilemma he’s had to face. He’s got to make sure it’s there this time, because if it isn’t he’s royally fucked, and everything was basically for nothing.

He slowly unravels himself from the covers and you as well, before he walks towards his travel bag, just to find it zipped shut. Fuck. There’s no way he can open this without you waking up- so he has to find a different moment to check on it later, possibly after a good breakfast. Yeah, that makes sense- perfect plan!

He jumps on the bed again, this time absolutely with the intention to wake you up, body covering yours above the covers as he presses kisses to your neck and cheek until you begin to stir awake. “Jungkook.. What the fuck..” You mumble, turning away from him to hide your face into the pillow you’re holding.

“Come on baby, let’s go have some overpriced breakfast somewhere!” He beams down at you, arms pushing and lifting from the mattress to make your body shake. “Baby~!” He whines, hands moving towards your sides-

“Jeon Jungkook, tickle me and I’ll kick your balls I swear.”

His hands move away again, fairly quickly, as he moves to sit up properly and have you turn over, just so his hands can pull you up by your wrists into a sitting position. “Come on, I’ll go get ready first while you wake up-” He smiles, pecking your lips before he gets out of bed. “-and you can try and wake up a little.” Your boyfriend laughs, before he disappears into the bathroom close by.

You’re not a morning person. In fact, you’re not a waking-up person at all. Especially considering that he kept you occupied in bed until 4 AM this morning, and it’s now not even close to 10 AM. How he can work on such little sleep is beyond you- but you’d love to sleep the entire day away, if he’d let you.

And if you wouldn’t get a raging headache from it.

But a few hours later, after both a good shower and some physical love during that shower, you’re now at a random restaurant that’s not very fancy at all- but the burgers online looked great, so you insisted on going. Jungkook isn’t sulking either, excited as he spotted other people’s food around you at other tables looking just as portrayed in the web search earlier. “Do you want to go to that museum later?” He asks, as someone puts down your food for both of you.

“I don’t know?” You shrug. “It was just a suggestion.. It looked pretty cool.” You say, and he nods.

“Listen, this trip is mainly for you baby.” He smiles, watching how you happily beam at your food. “So whatever you say is what we’ll do.” Jungkook urges, making you nod happily.

“Oh, by the way-” You say while he’s starting to eat. “-did you bring some of your equipment to the trip?” You wonder, and he frowns a bit in confusion, shaking his head. “Cause there was a small box on the bed yesterday, and I thought I’ve seen it on your table at home before, so I put it in your bag just to not have you forget it or something-” You mumble between bites of fries, and his blood runs cold.

Fuck. He completely forgot about that.

“Uh-” He coughs from trying to talk too quickly after swallowing, needing a sip of his soda to calm down again. Think Jungkook, think! “Yeah, it’s the uh, box from my smart watch.” He offers.

“Oh?” You say, drinking as well. “But you never really wear it.” You chat away, making him sweat.

“Yeah but like, I thought it was pretty expensive you know, I should probably wear it more often.” He tries to wiggle himself through his web of lies he’s creating right now, hoping that you’ll drop it.

“Huh, makes sense.” You shrug, much to his relief. “Should I remind you to wear it more often? I mean, you’re literally not wearing it right now either.” You laugh, and he nods, trying to keep it in mind that it’s safe, in his bag, everything’s fine.

“Ah, yeah!” He nods, before biting into his burger just to have an excuse not to talk about it much further. He’s got no clue how to make his next move again- the restaurant was supposed to be the perfect moment and place for it, and now that it got fucked over, he’s got to improvise.

And he’s not good at being spontaneous. Not at all.

Especially not when later, on the way back to the house he’s rented out for the week, you’re busy riding him in the driver’s seat, car parked somewhere where you both can’t be easily seen, and his brain is just empty once more as he holds your waist. You fail to make it home in time to get ready and really visit the museum, instead lounging around in the large living room area drinking wine and eating all the different snacks that Maria had stocked up on, while watching trash TV.

And only later, back in bed, does he realize that none of what you both did today was any different to your normal days off back home. Another day, another wasted opportunity.

How the hell is he supposed to make his move now, with only three days left to go?

Thank God Joel still treated you the same way before he confessed his love to you that night. You acted like nothing happened and he did the same.

“Thank you for walking me home, Joel.” Joel always walked you home even though your house was exactly next to his.

“Anytime, darlin’.” This was the second time he called you darling. Your heart jumped.

“I-uh-I forgot to tell you. Sarah’s birthday is coming. I was wondering if we could celebrate together.” He put his hand behind his neck.

“Oh really? It’s her first birthday! We should hold a party!” You jumped excitedly.

“A party? I don’t know (y/n). I mean-I don’t have anyone to invite beside my brother.” Joel put his hands in his pocket.

“I can invite my friends from the cafe. Let’s give Sarah the best first birthday ever. She deserves it.” You bumped Joel on the upper arm.

“Yeah, she deserves the best.” Joel nodded.

“So, what should we do?” He crossed his arms.

“I’ll think about it and we can talk about it again tomorrow.”

“Okay. Thanks. Good night, darlin’.” Joel kissed your cheek.

“Good night, Joel.” You kissed him back.

You shrieked as you closed the door. Joel Miller just called you darling. After what you said to him and he still called you darling? His words made you sway. And the kiss on the cheek felt different. Joel kissed your cheek every night but today definitely felt different. It felt more loving if you had to describe it. Was it because he called you darling? Was it because he was still nice to you even though you broke his heart? Then you remembered you told him that you weren’t ready for a relationship. You were the one who asked him not to fall in love with you but why were you swayed now? You hit your head to get a grip of yourself. You spent your night thinking about how you could make Sarah’s birthday special. You took out your notebook and wrote your ideas about the cake design, colors, decorations and everything. Trying to neglect your thoughts about how perfect Joel was.

It was another day and you prepared dinner at Joel’s house just like usual. You and Joel had dinner together almost every night since you babysat Sarah. Either you cooked for the two of you, ordered deliveries, Joel brought takeouts, or ate out. But tonight you decided to cook.

“You’re home early.” You turned to look at Joel who just got home from work.

“Today was peaceful.” He chuckled.

“Dinner will be ready in 10. So you can take a shower first, sir.” You bowed, acting like a maid.

“I’ll be back.” Joel chuckled as he shook his head at your joke.

*10 minutes later*

Joel went down the stairs looking fresh after a shower.

“Smells good.” Joel sniffed.

“You always said that.” You scoffed.

“I’m being honest.” Joel glared at you.

“Well, thank you.” You smiled.

You and Joel dug in and ate the meal you cooked.

“So, I’ve got some ideas for Sarah’s first birthday party.” You took out your notebook.

“Uh-huh. What do you got?”

“I was thinking of a pink themed kind of birthday party. What do you think?” You squinted your eyes.

“Hmm, how about purple? I’m seeing Sarah as a purple girl.” Joel voted purple.

“Yes sir. Purple it is.” You wrote purple on your notebook.

“About the cake, I have talked to my baker and he has this amazing design in mind. You’ll love it.”

“I’ll leave it to you, miss.”

Sarah’s Birthday D-1

You and Joel decorated the house with purple flowers and purple balloons. You used helium for the balloon so it could fly to the ceilings.

"Never meant to cause you any sorrow~"

Joel sang as he held the balloon pumper as a microphone near his mouth.

You turned your head right away as you heard a high-pitched voice singing.

"Seriously?" You put your hands to your waist staring at him.

"Never meant to cause you any pain" Joel closed his eyes and continued singing.

You inhaled some of the helium and jumped to the couch.

"I only wanted to one time to see you laughing.."

You sang and Joel stopped because he was impressed by you.

"I only wanted to see you in the purple rain"

You started to sing like a real singer on the stage but you were just on Joel's couch.

"Purple rain

Joel inhaled another helium and sang with you together. The two of you burst into laughter. You couldn't stop laughing, your stomach hurts.

"Okay, okay. Stop it. My stomach hurts from laughing." You pressed your stomach.

"I didn't know you like Prince." You bumped Joel's arm.

"Purple rain is like my jam." Joel squinted his eyes.

"Wait, did you choose purple because of the song? Purple as in purple rain?" You furrowed your brows confused as you joined the dots. He shrugged.

"I..may have chosen purple because of purple rain." He admitted.

"You're sooo predictable." You shook your head and poked his chest with your index finger.

D-day

The birthday cake was big and purple. It was a two tier cake with pearls and sparkly butterflies around it. You thanked your baker for making Sarah a beautiful birthday cake.

Sarah wore a purple dress with a purple bow tie bandana headband around her head. You and Joel had bought them a few days ago at the mall.

"Happy birthday, you cute little girl!" One of your employees from the cafe shook her little hand gently.

"Whoaa, who is this pretty little girl here?" Another friend from your cafe came to her while baby Sarah was in Joel's arms.

"Happy birthday, purple girl." Flo came and stroked her head.

"Say thank you, babygirl." Joel bounced Sarah and she babbled.

"You're welcome." Flo gave you a gift box for Sarah and you put it on the table piled with presents.

Everyone was happy to celebrate Sarah's birthday. They were like a second family to her. She spent every day with them and you at the cafe. And they loved her too.

“Hey, you old fucker. And hey there you, babygirl. Happy birthday, my sweet little niece.” An unfamiliar man approached the two of you and kissed baby Sarah’s head.

“Tommy!” Joel hugged his younger brother.

“(y/n), this is Tommy, my younger brother. Tommy this is (y/n). She’s uh-she’s my neighbor. She’s the one who came up with all of these.” Joel introduced you to Tommy and pointed around the house.

“Hi, Tommy. I’m (y/n). Nice to meet you. Joel helped a lot too.” You shook Tommy’s hand.

“So you guys-uh-together?” Tommy asked.

“We’re neighbors.” You answered and Joel nodded.

“Okay. If you want to say it that way. I’m sure you guys are more than that anyways.” Tommy raised both of his opened palms in the air.

“Okay, now I’m gonna mingle and see if I can talk to that pretty girl.” Tommy walked away and talked to a girl, who was apparently to be Flo.

“I didn’t know you had a brother.” You chuckled.

“Well, you know about it now.” Joel kissed Sarah’s cheek.

“He seems..” You pouted as you were looking for the right word.

“Friendly. Very much friendly.” You smirked.

“Yep, he is.”

“Why don’t we gather everyone and sing happy birthday?” You rested your hand at Joel’s shoulder then to Sarah’s head.

"Everyone! Joel here has something to say." You gathered everyone's attention.

"What? I thought you were the one who-" Joel whispered to you and bumped your arm.

"Shh.. come on do the speech." You whispered back to him.

"I didn't prepare anythin'." He panicked.

"You can do it. Come on." You patted his back.

"Hi-uh-I'm Joel. I'm sure you all know Sarah. She's turning one today. Thank you for takin' care of her every day at the cafe. I really appreciate it. You are all a second family to her. Why don't we-uh-sing happy birthday to my little girl?" Joel was sweating. You could see it dripping to the back of his neck but you just chuckled. You found him cute this way.

*Everyone started to sing*

Joel sang half way and he stopped singing so you turned to him. His eyes were locked to a woman who just came into the house. She was his ex-wife and her current boyfriend.

"Joel.." You stroked his upper arm.

"Hold Sarah for me?" He passed Sarah to your arms.

"Okay." You took her from his arms and held her, bouncing her a bit.

Joel sighed as he walked towards his ex-wife. He didn't let her see Sarah. He dragged her outside the house avoiding everyone to see the drama that would happen.

"Everything's gonna be okay, baby. Your dad got this. Let's just be happy and celebrate your birthday. Today's your special day." You talked to baby Sarah and kissed her forehead.
