Dark! Percy Jackson Reverse Harem x Reader|| Chapter Five
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
<<< Chapter Four
"My back hurts so bad right now"
"It must be the seats...There is no way this is what sacred smells like"
Percy whines, as all four of you sit in the back of the bus.
The blond boy feels bothered for not being able to sit beside you.
"We’re soldiers on a mission. It’s not a vacation." Annabeth shoots back.
You start scratching your back from the itchness and the pain.
"I will go to the bathroom in the store, be right back"
You announce and leave before they can say anything to you.
Percy stands up to follow you, but Annabeth forces him back in his seat.
"No, you will stay right there, I'm going to go check on her"
°°°
The moment Annabeth enters the toilet, she is shocked to see white wings on your back.
"Are those wings? And your eyes, they are red"
"Yes" you answer nervously.
"Oh...wow"
"I know, do you think I can fly with them?" you ask excitedly.
I mean it's every child's dream to have wings to fly.
And now you got the chance to do that.
"Your wings might cause a huge problem it will attract monsters"
"Don't worry, my dad gave me a music box to keep the monsters away"
You pull out the music box from your bag.
"Also, can humans see my wings?"
A woman enters the toilet after you ask that question.
She only washes her hands then walks out.
"No, they don't" Annabeth says after the woman leave.
"We need to leave, I sense that we are being followed by a monster"
You turn on the music box as a beautiful melody begins to play.
"This will keep us safe"
°°°
You and Annabeth walk into the bus with Annabeth shouting to the two boys to open the windows.
Percy only stares at you in surprise at your new appearance, then hurries off to break the window with Grover when he sees Mrs. Dodds.
As the passengers get off the bus when the driver announces emergency, one of the furies fly into the bus through the broken window.
The monster looks at you ready to approach you.
But the melody makes it scream in pain when it was close to touching you.
Annabeth takes her chance and throws her dagger at the fury, killing it as it turns into dust.
All four of you escape quickly.
°°°
"Hades has kidnapped your mother, (Y/n)"
Annabeth says, as you walk all together in the Satyr path.
"What? Why would he do that!" you exclaim, worried for your mother.
"Who told you that?" Percy inquires, looking at her in suspicion.
But before she could answer, Grover sniffs the air.
"Do you guys smell that?"
"Grover, I’m not kidding..." Percy asserts.
"No, neither am I. Just shush."
"Hamburgers" you sigh at Grover, causing him to blush.
"I think you are just hungry, Grover"
"No, I'm not, somebody's making hamburgers in the middle of nowhere, on a satyr path. Whoever it is... they’re from our world."
°°°
You don't know what made you trust Percy and go inside Medusa's house along with Grover and Annabeth.
Probably because Mrs.Dodds is outside waiting to snatch you and Percy away.
"You're concerned I would hold a grudge against you simply because you are a daughter of Athena?"
You don't dare to look at Medusa even if she is hiding her eyes.
Medusa continues speaking to Annabeth.
"You shouldn’t be. We're not our parents after all. And you and I might have more in common than you think. Please, sit and eat."
Letting out a nervous breath after Medusa starts speaking to you.
"You must be the daughter of Calista, you look like her when she was your age."
Medusa notices that you are not looking at her, she could feel your fear.
"Your mother was a friend of mind, she visited me and told me about her encounters with the gods, poor thing, they wouldn't leave her"
"...They" you inquire.
"Your mother is the daughter of Nyx, her beauty attracted the attention of many gods including Poseidon, Hades, Apollo, Hermes, and Eros"
Percy shivers at the thought that his father loved your mother.
Maybe he can succeed where his father failed.
"Your mother is an enchanteress not a demigod"
Grover jokes, but stops when Annabeth glares at him.
That must be why Hades kidnapped your mother.
Little do you know that you might up having a similar fate like your mother.
But with demigods instead.

Hello! I hope my request won’t bother you but can i ask for a funny scenario where Hades, Poseidon, Hercules, and Thor, falling in love with goddess reader who is the child of Nyx and Erebus? Like the reader is the goddess of stars and her hair would kinda flow in the air with stardust and her eyes sparkles like twinkling stars? She’s also very kind and beautiful and that’s why her powerful parents adore her and refuses to let her get married? If you can, can you add Zeus, Aphrodite, and Odin’s reaction to the gods proposing to reader but reader’s parents won’t allow it. Thank you ^~^
-You were the light of your parents, Nyx and Erebus’ eyes, quite literally, being the goddess of stars, you were so bright, so cheerful, and so beautiful.
-Long flowing dark hair that looked to have stars interwoven, sparkling and shimmering in the light, and your eyes twinkled as if you had diamonds in them.
-Your kindness and gentle heart matched your beauty, making you truly a beautiful goddess, inside and out.
-However, with pretty daughters come big responsibilities and your parents had their hands full with the number of suitors coming for your hand since you became of age.
-They had refused all offers, refusing to let you be taken away by any of these other gods whom they deemed not worthy of someone so wonderful as you.
-Still, despite their efforts, a few managed to get by them to you while you were out and about, to approach you with marriage in mind.
-Hades- Knew he couldn’t ask you to marry him outright, as you didn’t know each other, but when he approached you, kneeling down and handing you a red rose, asking for the dance to court you, to take you out on a date. You were surprised that the king of the underworld was vying for your affections but before you could answer you heard, “NO!!!” and instantly you were in your father’s arms, “Nobody’s dating my baby!!” before running off with you. Hades did realize shortly afterward, that you had accepted his rose.
-Poseidon- You were perfect, beautiful, kind, and extremely powerful, no other would do as his queen, and he immediately approached when he saw you were alone for one, “Will you marry me?” you were going to refuse, having heard that numerous times, but your eyes widened, seeing Poseidon there of all gods, stunned that he was asking you. His eyes were soft and kind looking, unlike his normal iciness, and you smiled gently up at him but before you could saw anything your father immediately ran over, throwing you over his shoulder, “Not today!!” Poseidon’s eyelid twitched in annoyance, staring after you.
-Hercules- He approached you with the intentions of asking you to marry him, but as you turned to face him, hearing his footsteps, his voice failed him as his face turned bright red. He held up a simple daisy to you, making you smile softly as his approach had surprised you, but to see the simple gift, it made you so happy. Hercules managed to stutter out a question, asking you on a date, as he wimped out asking you to marry him and you were surprised, as none had asked you on a date before, just jumping straight to marriage. You took his hand which stunned him before you heard your parents, “How dare you hold my baby’s hand?!” your mother hugged you close while your father was yelling at Hercules, who looked a bit defeated by their declination.
-Thor- It was shocking to look up at Thor after he had cleared his throat, wanting to speak with you, but you smiled softly up at him, greeting him warmly. Your kind smile and warm glow made his brain flat line, he couldn’t remember what he was supposed to say as he handed you a red rose. Your eyes lit up with surprise before you took it, “Thank you for this! You’re so sweet!!” He instantly kneeled, spooking you as he took your hand, “Will you marry me, Y/N?” your mother instantly ran over, roundhouse kicking Thor away from you, “No she will not!!” Thor was okay, a bit stunned, as your mother picked you up over her shoulder and dashed off with you.
-Zeus- Approached your parents later that same day after seeing his brother/son try to propose, “May I inquire why you are so against your daughter marrying Hades/Poseidon/Hercules?” your father scowled, “Nobody is good enough for my baby!” Zeus chuckled warmly, stroking his beard, but his aura was threatening, “Are you calling my brother/son not good enough? Who is good enough then?” you ignored the shouting adults as you managed to sneak out, going out to the garden where you saw Hades/Poseidon/Hercules waiting for you with a smile.
-Aphrodite- Your mother was suspicious of her arrival, “Why are you here Aphrodite?” the goddess of love just smiled, “I’ve come to inquire why you won’t let Y/N get married. I saw the proposal of Hades/Poseidon/Hercules and I thought it was cute!” Father crossed his arms, pouting, “Nobody is good enough for her!” Aphrodite, having dealt with situations like this before, smiling, “Then if nobody is good enough, will your daughter be forever alone then? The love of a parent and the love of a partner are very different.” her words made them freeze, realizing this before she tried prying again, seeing you sneaking out behind them, which made her smile, as you went out to meet up with Hades/Poseidon/Hercules.
-Odin- If your parents were intimidated, they tried not to show it, “Why is my son not allowed to marry your daughter?” your father glared harshly, “Nobody is marrying my precious baby!” Odin was annoyed at their words, trying to keep calm, to reason with them, “Then will your daughter be alone for the rest of her life?” Mother flinched lightly, not liking that as your father tried to defend their actions, not wanting you to be with anyone unworthy of you. Odin’s powerful aura shook your whole house, “Are you calling my son unworthy?” the two men glared at each other, the three of them unaware you had snuck out, leaping down from your balcony from your bedroom into Thor’s waiting arms, smiling brightly at him, which made him smile as you snuck off.

Back with event with Crewel daughter after the guys trying to steal Persephone gem/crown, she still invite what limited guests she can for the Plentiful Harvest at her school, where her dorm and villainess school ( Black Cat Academy) have plenty of harvest of Persephone and Nyx as the two dorm from opposite schools are in a good relationship for centuries, and also Crewel daughter is very popular with the villainess school to the point she sometimes get invitation to go there
Let's say Ruggie, Malleus, Lilia, Idia, Rook, and Vil went to the harvest festival
( now separately pls for this ask )
Let's say they see her wearing a toga that looks liked a wedding dress as it's represented how Persephone return to the underworld with Hades, and they teases her making her blush, but she did admit she wanted to married someone who she love and doesn't mind if the person who she love have flaws, rich, or poor, as long as he's educated, able to listen, and make her happy and to not cause her harm she be happy to married them, just need her father and grandparents approval as it's custom for her home
Well first and foremost Crewel’s daughter doesn’t blush and if you do it's only lightly because you can keep your cool like that
Who’s daughter do you think are
And the Princess academy you attend would not be welcoming to your Night Raven friends
Especially friends that have already been found to cause trouble
Hence your own punishment and double crossing in the first place
But let's say we pick a different venue
A neutral ground for both the Black Cat and the Princess Academy
inviting RSA and Night Raven as well (and maybe Noble Bell if their students cough cough Rollo behave)
To celebrate a day for a Plentiful Harvest the schools will choose their patrons to represent a greek goddess or god depending on the artifact or descendent that’s present
While Harvest isn’t the typical time period to celebrate Persephone you still maintain her image
If only to honor the surviving relative of Demeter who is the main focus of the event
Thus you fashion yourself in a form fitting white dress only slightly modernized from the Ancient Greek bridal dress
Finally able to pull away from the various rituals and festivals
You sit and relax as you watch different students compete in a retelling of Demeter and Persephone’s story letting the lucky few from Night Raven slip:
Tumblr media
Ruggie Bucci
“Nishishshi is the lucky bride not happy with her groom? Maybe trading him out for me?”
As happy as he is that he’s getting free food all throughout the event he’s not happy you’re wearing the equivalent of a wedding dress and hanging on the arm of someone who can barely stand to look you in the eye Idia
You tell him about your preliminary wants in a husband
skillfully dancing around who in your circle could fit that description
He’s slick in his own way and notes that you weren’t necessarily excluding him
It bothers him but he’s not discouraged
You quite clearly informed him that you have options and last he checked he fit all those things just fine
Not that he wouldn’t mind changing anything about himself to do that
But it seems he won’t have to
“Well if you ever decide to really be a bride one day it wouldn’t be too much trouble for the lucky guy to be me.”
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia
“You look divine, (Y/n) more so than usual. In truth I plan to see you in the position of a bride, any requirements suggestions?”
Unlike you he has one requirement and that's you
He takes you telling him this as an obvious sign that he’s allowed to court you
Blatantly revealing your requirements automatically has him especially excited
He’s heard humans recently haven’t been fond of long term commitments so this is reassuring
It helps with any lingering desires to burn the the crops away out of sheer spite
He doesn’t love that you're pretending but if it means the real wedding is with him he can stomach it
“Then for the future do you favor this style? Me? I could hardly care what you wear for that day it’ll look gorgeous because its on you…but in the end it will be coming off anyway.”
Tumblr media
Lilia Vanrouge
“Enjoying your play-marriage?”
He’s a seasoned fae and he’s pleased that you know what you want
Not to worry about your family’s approval that he’s sure he can easily win
A general knows how to negotiate
a parent knows how to offer the illusion of choice
He knows how to do both on the daily
Not to mention the fact he knows he’ll be a good husband for you
Or at least he will make sure you believe that before he gets that ring on your hand
Either way is fine
it's up to you
not really
“Hmm do you want a Winter wedding or a Summer one?“
Tumblr media
Idia Shroud
“Uhhh-so being married, huh? Like the highest tier in a love simulator, huh?”
He’s been overwhelmed with all the extrovert activities he’s had to take part in today and all without getting to rely on Ortho
You were there but he could barely think straight before his hair was turning pink and he felt like passing out
Too many times had he actually touched you today within the rituals of the Plentiful Harvest
So to hear you so easily lay that out…he’s writing that down
This obviously means he’s gaining favor with you for you to so clearly lay out what you desire from him
He’s most definitely the smartest guy you know
And he’s well-versed in how to respect women cringe compilations told him so
Now to marry your teacher’s daughter that's like the pinnacle of the forbidden lovers trope
The perfect game with Professor Crewel as the mega boss
It wouldn’t be easy but it sure will be interesting
He just has to get the right strategy down
And Idia Shroud is never one to back down from a good game
“Just wait for it, (Y/n)! I can be the ultimate groom for you!”
Tumblr media
Rook Hunt
“Madamoiselle Crewel you resemble a goddess in all your beauty!”
Ever prepared to listen to you he’s pleased with what he’s hearing
It's been euphoric watching you all throughout the day for the event
Your beauty is next to ethereal when you reveal something about yourself
And he’s swooning
Despite his incessant devotion to you he can’t help but watch stalk from afar only to discover something new about you
Its always exhilarating
It’ll be even more so when he makes you aware that that's exactly his prerogative
“Madamoiselle Crewel your hand is a prize for those who should earn your love! Those willing to persist in the hunt for the beauty you hold within and out. Shall we commence in a life-long chase?”
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit
“As expected you look gorgeous, I only wish I could have taken the my place by your side.”
He’s already on it
Even working your family relations has been something he’s working to gain
His beauty stems deeper than just looks
All he’s waiting for is you
And while that may take awhile he’s aware this is a marathon
not a race
So as long you stay within reach and never forget how perfect you both are for one another
He’ll be fine with that
“Surely, you’re aware of what your words mean to a young man like myself? Now I can’t have you off with anyone lesser, now can I? Not that I’d let you anyway but decorum is something we both have an affinity for.”

To say you were careful would be an understatement; you were FUCKING paranoid. Miguel had come to study a spider woman from a newly found Earth. But you had no idea he was there; all you felt were eyes on the back of your head and your spidey senses all over the place. You were changing at your apartment after returning from a patrol. Miguel was watching you from outside your window, a noticeable bulge developing with each second he looked.
Finally, you removed your suit from the top of your bed while wearing your pajamas. Scratching could be heard coming from your bedroom door when you hung your suit in your closet. With a sigh, you opened your door to see your pets waiting for you. Nyx purred the moment she spotted you, while Hades' tail waggled in anticipation of being let in. You opened the door completely to let them in, and before you knew it, both your cat and dog snarled at your window. You opened your window, perplexed, to find nothing except the serene New York night sky. Closing your window and dismissing the incident as a bird or anything.
Miguel climbed the stairway before you could see him when he noticed the pets at your window and soon your following shape. When your upper body came into view, you were seeking whatever had made your companions nervous. He was captivated by your ethereal appearance, the multi-color lights giving your skin and eyes a wonderful sheen. He entered your room via the window as you were sleeping, your dog next to your bed, and your cat on a little bed on top of your bedside table.
He reached out a clawed hand and softly touched your face, removing a strand of hair. He moves his finger slowly to your slightly open mouth. He imagined how soft your lips would be over his finger, your tongue giving him love strikes softly but steadily. The mere thought of it sent shivers down his spine and a little shock up his cock. You let out a small groan as his finger was about to enter your lips. "mm…Nyx…don't do that," you mumbled. His hand slid away from you like it was on fire, and he watched as you shifted over and became more at ease. He only gazed at his fingers; he was correct, your lips were soft. How will they feel on his dic-
He shook his head, realizing that he shouldn't be thinking such things. He was only here for one reason and one reason only, let alone act on his thoughts. To determine if you were a threat that needed to be annihilated or whether you may be of use to the spider society. He returned to the window, and as quickly as he was in your room, he was gone; he didn't want you to wake up to discover him creepily staring at you with his glowing eyes.
The following day, while you were on patrol. While on top of a towering structure, you had the similar sense that you were being watched. When you turned around, you saw a towering man in a Spiderman suit staring down at you. Your immediate desire was to run, but your feet remained firmly planted on the earth. He removed his mask, revealing a gorgeous man with a strong jawline and wild curly hair. When he talked, his voice was deep and made your heart skip a beat.
" Is your Y/n correct?" he asked. You nodded, still a little affected by him. He had a watch on his wrist, began to type, and a golden doorway emerged. "My name is Miguel O'Hara from Earth-928, please join me." You stared at him before you spoke, he remarked, extending his hand to you. "Why should I trust you?" you questioned nervously. He sighed and rested his hand on his hip. " Mira, I will not harm you. "I'm taking you to the spider society, where there are many people like you." He informed you quietly that he was telling the truth. He was taking you to the spider society and would never harm you, he thought that you were stunning and needed to be protected.
You're not sure how or when he convinced you to accept his hand and lead you to the portal and into the Spider Society. When you entered this building, you were greeted with a dimly lighted chamber with dark blue and red illumination. Miguel called out, "Lyla," and a holographic lady materialized next to him. " Give me a report." He stated You zoned out while Miguel and Lyla chatted and gazed around the room. When the door opened and a group of individuals entered the room, you froze and gazed at them. When you noticed the young kid sitting in her carrier, they also stopped and stared at you. You could hear small laughter and chattering. You thought to yourself as you approached the group that the tiny person was cute.
"How might you be?" asked a young man dressed in a back and red Spider uniform. " Miles " "Don't be rude," the girl next to him murmured as she poked him with her shoulder. " How was I rude, Gwen?" While stroking his shoulder, he said. " It's impolite to point at someone." Gwen, the girl, chastised him, "Am Hobie, by the way." He reached out to shake your hand. " My name is Y/n, and it's nice to meet you. " You said. you were worried because meeting new people wasn't your strong suit. But simply by looking at them, you could tell they were kind and laid-back folks.
"I'm Pavitr, nice to meet you Y/n," the young guy approached you, and you nodded and shook his hand. You felt a weight on your shoulders, little hands on your face, and a small happy face looking down at you. You couldn't help but laugh. " And how are you doing, little one?" You asked the infant in your arms while gently tapping her on the nose, and she shrieked with delight. " Mayday, sorry about that. "I'm Peter B," he introduced himself. "No, it's all right, it's nice to meet you," you said, continuing playing with Mayday.
While all of this was going on, Miguel stood there with a heavy scowl on his face, watching the spectacle. Why were you smiling so brilliantly at everyone but him? His chest tightened as he observed the scene. What was this sensation he was having? The more he stared, the more it hurt, till they found it out when you drew closer to Hobie to get a better look at the outfit he was wearing. JEALOUSY was the culprit. He was envious of all the attention they were receiving from you, while he received none. Lyla photographed his face and labeled it # Jealous he didn't get more attention # Lame # Lmao # Ain't got no bitches.
They rapidly became your friends, and Hobie even began to teach you how to play the guitar. Gwen and Miles began swinging around New York with you, and you even invited them to your place, where they met your pets. Hades adores Mayday and Pavitr, whilst Nyx adores Hobie and will not let him go, she will bite and hiss at you. Miguel has been bringing you on patrol with him, and everything has gone swimmingly. But with every rise, there has to be a fall, and every time she goes to headquarters, someone is following her. They were following her from room to room, hall to hall at first, and suddenly it was much worse.
They began with little, discreet touches. They caressed her hair as though she had unintentionally brushed into someone only to find no one there. It felt like she was being pursued by a ghost, a particularly nasty ghost. But now they're squeezing her side while she's walking, or even hitting her ass. They seemed to be trying to get a rise out of her. They'd do it even if she was in public! She and Hobie were going down the corridor, Hobie's hands behind his head, while she showed him images of Nyx. She'd purchased a suit similar to his for Nyx, and the cat adored it.
Hobie was discussing how he should come to your place and customize the suit so that it appeared ever more stylish like his. You giggled as he grinded. You felt a strong grip on your chest all of a sudden. You virtually leaped out of your skin and spun around like a lunatic. Realizing there was no one around, Hobie came to a halt and glanced at you. He knew something was amiss the moment he saw your face; you were pale and slightly shivering, and your arms wrapped about your chest. "Are you all right? "What's the matter?" He asked. But you were absolutely paralyzed and terrified. That was the end of it; you couldn't take it any longer.
You glanced at Hobie and asked him, trembling, to take you to Miguel's office. He threw his arm over your shoulder and led you to Miguel's office, where you thanked him and stepped inside. Miguel had his back to you and was staring at many screens. others had abnormalities and others were within the building, although it appeared to be the latter. " Miguel," you said to him. He turned to view you, taking in the many expressions on your face, which was pale and on the edge of breaking down.
He sighed and walked up to you, softly caressing your face. "What's wrong, Hermosa?" "T-there is s-someone stal-stalking me," you said, on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Miguel embraced you, pressing your face to his chest as you sobbed gently. Miguel caressed your back while his head lay on top of yours. What you couldn't see was his big smile, and how much he enjoyed your vulnerability. It was your fault for not paying attention to him and his love for you, but the outcome is exactly what he desired.
He drew you away from him and kissed you passionately. He tightened his grip on you as he intensified the kiss. His tongue swiftly overtook yours, and he moved his mouth away from yours, taking a breath and licking his lips. You were gasping and trying to catch your breath as you stared up at Miguel, his eyes half-closed and burning red. His suit was incredibly tight, particularly on his bottom half, where a bulge was fast developing. His outfit dematerialized, leaving him in his boxers. He peered down at you and said in hushed tones, "Strip, and on your knees, Muñeca."
You did what he said, as if in a drunken stupor, and your suit crumbled off your body. Miguel smirked as your knees crumbled in front of his sight. "Open your mouth and stick your tongue out." He stated this while touching your lips with his finger. He tapped once, and with the second tap, your mouth opened, your tongue hanging out. He added a second finger to his slide up and down your tongue. He commanded you to "close your mouth and suck." You did as he said and began sucking on his fingers.
You swirled your tongue over his fingers, doe eyes on him. With an 'mmm', he removed his fingers from your mouth, glancing at the small string of saliva joining his digits and your tongue. You felt dizzy simply looking at Miguel, and when you heard him talk again, it was as if he was holding you on a tight leash. Miguel grabbed your jaw and innocently asked, "Won't you help with this, Cariño?" referring to the bulge in his boxers that was now generating a wet area from his excitement at having you beg under him.
You had lost all reasonable thought, and your mind had just become mush with desire, need, and Miguel. You pulled his boxers with trembling hands and saw as his dick sprung to life, completely erect and dripping little drops of transparent cream. "Well, don't just sit there and look, " he was huge and thick. Why don't you have taste, Mi Amor?" Inching your face closer and closer till you were kissing the base of his dick, he said. You put out your tongue and gave him a lengthy lick that ended with you kissing his tip. Taking him into your mouth and circling his dick with your tongue. Miguel groaned and buckled his hip.
"Ahh~ No, Y/n, don't use your hands." Show me how you like to be pleased." He stated. You followed his instructions with tears in your eyes. Your right hand squeezed your right breast and pinched your nipple. Your left hand instantly found your sex, easily locating the little bundle of nerves. You were drooling and feeling a knot form in your gut as Miguel drove into you, circling your clit with great yearning. The quicker you continued moving, the faster he pushed into your mouth, hitting the back of your throat, and the knot got tighter and tighter until it eventually snapped and you came. Miguel followed with one more powerful thrust and let in out onto awaiting your tongue.
Your eyes were half-closed from crying and coming down from your high. He grabbed your limp body and carried you to his hair. He sat down on it with you in his arms, and you sat tiredly on his lap, staring at him. His second hand came to assault your already mistreated clit as his thick fingers tenderly touched your entrance, accumulating your fluids. You shuddered as if lightning had shot up your spine. "Noo…I can't, s'too much," you moan, struggling to break free from his grip. He cradled you in his arms and whispered into your ear, " Shhh… Won't you be a good girl and take it, Mi Amor? I'll give you the reward shortly."
He shoved his fingers inside you, thrusting them in and out of you. He placed your clit in between his pointer and middle finger, giving it a small pressure, and made your back arch and lips drop open in a hushed moan/scream as your sinful song resonated through the room. You're not sure if it was your extremely sensitive sex or Miguel's deft manipulation of your climax. He drew his hand away from your sex, wet threads stuck to his fingertips. His lustful eyes locked onto yours as he licked each finger clean on his tongue.
They came out again as he wrapped your creamy thighs around his waist and you bucked against him frantically. You can hear him chuckle at your brattiness. "Patience~," he sang, kissing your lips lightly. He elevated your hips to the point where your sex was aligned with his dick. " Miguel… i-I won't fit," you whimpered as he forced you down onto his tip. He sank you into his dick, your cervix, and his pelvis joining as he pulled your face onto his palm and tilted it to the side to give you a deep passionate kiss. You moaned into his lips, and he swallowed them all. His hand let go of your jaw and came to a stop at your throat, wrapping his hand around it and giving it a light squeezed.
You were so full, and you could feel his dick imprint in your stomach, that it made your toes curl as all the ecstasy rushed over you. "mm, am going to fill up so much-nnn- you won't be able to think of anything but my dick." His cock twitched when your wall flapped slightly. Your moans became louder and louder, and you couldn't stop yourself from being engrossed in the sensation. A conversation could be heard getting closer to the door, as could footsteps. Miguel covered your lips with his palm to keep you silent.
"Shh~, you wouldn't want people watching you get slit on my dick-nnn- would you?" He breathed and thrust into you, your walls tightening at the notion of being observed while Miguel Fucks you stupid. The approaching footsteps came to a complete halt in front of the door, but the person's conversation continued. Your wall fluttered as much as your heart pounded in your chest. Miguel continued to pound into you, his dick digging deeper till it kissed the entrance of your womb. The prospect of being caught and Miguel furiously thrusting into you shattered your already frail strand of sanity, causing you to come undone on his dick.
Miguel continued to push into you while you babbled nonsense until he totally emptied out on you with one final thrust that kissed your womb. keeping you seated nicely on his dick, milking him out to the last drop "That's it, you took it like a good girl, Que Hermosa." He spoke into your ear. Miguel helped you put your clothes back on after pulling you from his lap. " Hermosa, go to your room and rest." "I'll be there soon," he said as he kissed you goodbye and sent you on your way. Hobie greeted you as the door opened. "I was waiting for you." He said.
" What happened to you?" He questioned. "Huh?" You replied out of it, gradually descending from your high. "You look like you've been crying." He stated. "Oh, yeah… But don't worry, Miguel helped me; he said he would help me." You told him, still feeling the heat radiate from your face. You started walking, only to slip and almost fall. "Are you sure you're all right?" he worriedly questioned. " I'm just tired." "Could you help me to my room?" you said shyly.
He merely chuckled as he took your arm and placed it over his shoulder and assisted you in walking to your room. When you arrived, you tiredly thanked him. "Not a problem." He stated this as he walked back to his room, waving to you over his shoulder. You were so exhausted that as soon as you got into bed, you fell asleep. Unaware of the glowing red eyes, that were possessively watching you as you slept not long after you came to your room.
" 𝖄𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝕸𝖎𝖓𝖊, 𝖄/𝖓, 𝕽𝖊𝖒𝖊𝖓𝖇𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖆𝖙," Miguel said to your sleeping figure.

Feel Better pt 1/?
Been playing a lot of Hades recently so I wanted to write something for it.
Reader is gn, a minor god of decay, decomposition, grief, pests, and graveyards. Basically what happens after death but in the mortal realm plus disease and stuff.
This part is more of an intro/prologue but ya know. gotta start somewhere. Second part should be out soon
This all started with a few simple pomegranates. They were bruised and cut, a few ants and mice had stolen some seeds. You didn't really care. You came around to collect them, as they'd been left for you like most rotten food was. Any other god would be offended, but you didn't mind. It was your fault after all. Besides, it beats wasting food.
But these were no ordinary pomegranates, and you were not in an everyday place. In fact if you weren't so stubborn you never would have found it. It was like it was hiding something.
And it was.
As you entered, looking around for your fruit, you spotted them. A kind, older looking woman, a concerned look on her face. She held a basket of fresh produce, which she had grown herself if the gardens thriving around her cottage were to be believed. She was speaking to a young man, much younger than her but in someway very similar, his presence at least.
You knew who she was, and though you had no idea who the boy was you had several guesses.
"Persephone." You called out. It was almost a question, testing to see if this was real. She turned to you startled, then paled. The boy turned as well giving you a better look at his face. His black hair framed his features nicely, mostly of note his mismatched red and green eyes. The same green as hers. He was pretty, a figure fit for a warrior. He must have been, with the finely crafted sword sitting on his shoulder. You looked down and saw his feet were burning the grass. Beside the hem of Persephone's dress was one of the broken pomegranates. The other was on a table next to the cottage.
"Y/N, I... how did you find me? I thought Nyx had hidden me where no one could possibly..." she trailed off, muttering and worrying.
"Well my dear, you know how my friends are." You said crouching down and holding your hand out. A mouse popped out of the hard shell, covered in seeds. It ran over to you, squeaking excitedly and settled in your palm. She followed the trail and cursed herself.
"Meant to throw that in the river."
"Mother, who is this?" The boy asked, staring incredulously at the situation infront of him. Ah, his mother. She sighed and shifted the weight of the basket on her hip.
"Zagreus. This is Y/N, one of the Olympians. Y/N, this is my son, Zagreus." She sighed while explaining which made you laugh.
"You must be who Athena was talking about last time I was up there. She seemed awfully worried about you..."
"So, you're one of my cousins?" His tone was excited, like a puppy or a child. It almost made you want to lie.
"Afraid not, no. I used to be a nymph, and through a complicated series of events I'm sure would bore you, the Olympians made me one of there own. But I know your family well, if you have questions." You both smiled at each other, before Zagreus clutched his chest and groaned.
"Ah, apologies Y/N... I'll have to ask you some other time..." Persephone ran to her son as he began to collapse, helping him stumble to the river where he promptly collapsed and disappeared. She stood slowly, pointedly not turning to face you.
"I trust I can count on your discretion, my dear friend." Letting her have a bit of air, you picked up the fruit that brought you here, brushing it off. All this trouble...
"Of course, your secrets are safe with me. I must ask however... it seems like such an interesting story." She turned back, smiling but wiping at her eyes.
"Thank you, and yes, all shall be explained but... you're not going to eat that. I swear child you need to expect more with your offerings." You sheepishly grinned at her and set it in your bag for later.
"Come on in. I've a long story to tell you."
-----
"Blood and- urgh" The prince groaned, shaking the remaining residue of the Styx off of him.
It was frustrating, he had been up there a few times now. He never had enough time to talk with his mother, a cruelty worse than anything his father could think up.
Hypnos woke up with a start, grabbing hold of his list as he did.
"Ha, wow.. says here you made it all the way to the surface! You're getting quite good at that you know. Now if only you could stop dying!" Zagreus rolled his eyes, smiling a bit at the sleepy gods antics.
"Yes, I imagine that could be quite helpful, I'll work on that." Hypnos barked out a laugh and he made his way towards Achilles. The warrior could usually be found in the same place, nearby his father's chambers, today being no different.
"Sir. I was wondering something." The prince began, unsure of how to phrase his questions.
"That's a dangerous thing, especially for you. What's on your mind lad?" The shade softly spoke.
"Do you know of a god by the name of Y/N? I uh, may or may not have seen them at my mother's cottage..." at his words the shades expression became slightly alarmed.
"Goodness lad, is she alright? Is she sick?"
"What, no, my mother isn't sick. I don’t think, she seems fine." Achilles shifted his weight, thinking deeply about something Zagreus couldn't guess.
"I certainly hope so. Listen, Y/N is the god the men and I used to pray to to get over sickness, to let wounds heal well, and to let our dead remain undisturbed. At a touch of their hand all of the wood of a ship would rot, they sent a massive wave of locust through and destroyed all of the Trojans food. They may not be a major figure in the pantheon but they are terrifying nonetheless. I am thankful they were on our side but..." this surprised Zagreus. You had seemed so nice and calm. He just nodded and hummed, hoping to find more information about you. He turned to dash back to his room, before spotting Thanatos. Surely he would know more, he often visited the mortals to collect souls. Perhaps he'd run into them.

Wake Me From This Dreaming
Part 13.5
(Hypnos POV)
Word counts: 3.2
Hypnos x WMFTD!Y/N
Warnings: Trauma, abuse, kissing, cursing, implied intimacy, no beta.
Notes: First off, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been waiting for WMFTD. You are the most patient readers ever. This part is shorter but I hope you guys enjoy it. Will try to have the next part out sooner.
The Masterlist
A star took a single trembling breath and Hypnos was born.
His hand was already in his twin’s. Somehow he already knew their name. Thanatos. Brother.
A cool hand brushed his curls off his face and he looked up to his mom’s face, pale and cool but softened with a warm smile. Her golden eyes were brighter than the stars that surrounded them.
“Hello, little Hypnos.” She whispered.
That was what Hypnos remembered at the start of everything.
~
The armband felt too heavy for him, too big for his small arm. The golden flowers -poppies, Hypnos reminded himself. His mom called them poppies.- gleamed in the candlelight. Thanatos grabbed his arm with a frown, his brow furrowed in concern.
“It's supposed to help.” Hypnos said with a nervous giggle. Lord Hades didn’t stop yelling for what seemed forever after Hypnos had accidentally put him to sleep.
Again.
He wasn’t aware that even his soft humming could do that. At least, the look Queen Persephone gave him made him stop yelling. The young goddess was the only one who could do that.
“Okay.” Thanatos said quietly. There was a hint of doubt but he didn’t voice it.
Then he tilted his head, his hair falling into his eyes. “Mom- mother Nyx says that we are growing into our powers. She is going to take me to the surface soon. So I can see what mortals are like when they are alive.”
Hypnos blinked and his smile grew. “Do you think I can come?”
Shades or mortals were so odd. Many looked like themselves, others were broken apart bodies or just void. He wondered if said something about the shades’ souls, who they were in life.
It amused Hypnos. Such odd beings.
Charon didn't like them. His oldest brother would sigh, tipping his hat up with a finger in thought.
The weeping. He told them, it just never stops.
Thanatos perked up, looking less nervous.
He and Hypnos never knew what to do about the crying either but at least they could look at each other with faint confused smiles and a shrug before returning to playing or sleeping.
Thanatos took Hypnos' hand, his palm clammy and not as small as it used be and tugged Hypnos along the long winding halls. It bugged Hypnos a little that his twin was getting taller and bigger than him.
It only started once they came to the house.
Hypnos still didn't know how he felt about the house. It felt too big and too small at the time. He missed the stars and cool darkness.
He wanted to return to it - but his mom-mother Nyx, he reminded himself. Hypnos was always having to remind himself of stuff now. And he didn't like it- had said this was their home now.
His mom used to hold them close in her arms, her pale skin cool against his cheek. She hadn't since they came here. He missed it.
Hypnos was leaning towards not liking the house.
"My children." Mom said quietly, her hands clasped as she watched them approach. Her painted lips pursed as the sight of their hands together.
It was Thanatos who asked. They both knew she was more giving toward him. There was a moment Hypnos thought she would say ‘yes’ then her eyes flicked to the band she placed on him.
The golden poppies gleamed in the candlelight.
“No. You’re both growing up and need to learn not to rely on each other.” Her voice was firm. Hypnos flitched, tightening his hand around Thanatos’.
“But mom-“ her golden eyes snapped toward him, hard and cold and nothing like his mom. Hypnos swallowed. “Mother Nyx.” He corrected himself quietly.
“My word is final.” Mother Nyx said, watching them. Judging them for these next moments. “I will not have needy and helpless children.”
Hypnos opened his mouth to disagree, hurt bubbling up but Thanatos yanked his hand away without any warning, leaving Hypnos’ small hand grasping air. He blinked down at his hand then watched Thanatos float away.  It was just a few paces but it felt like a gap formed unseeing but painfully, obviously there.
Hypnos made a small hurt sound. Thanatos didn’t look at him even as he flinched at the sound.
“Hypnos.”
He looked up at the sound of her low voice, tears burning in his eyes.
“Learn from Thanatos’ example.”
Hypnos sniffed, unable to hide the tears spilling down his face. His cheeks burned as she sighed loudly. He wanted Thanatos’ hand in his, his mom’s arms around them. He didn’t want to be here.
“Yes mom- Mother Nyx.” Hypnos whispered, looking across to Thanatos. Hoping for even a single glance.
Thanatos still didn’t look at him.
~
Everything changed. Too fast for him to keep up, dizzy with the winding halls and silence.
Thanatos was gone all the time. Charon as well.
His powers grew and grew but unlike his twin, he was learning to live with it, letting it become a part of him, not something to dominate. He thought it was rather funny, how he slept like mortals. Dreamed like mortals.
His mom’s mouth only tightened in disappointment, not even looking at him anymore. Hypnos told himself that it didn’t make his heart ache.
Hypnos was alone. He told himself it was fine.
And It was fine.
Really.
~
Thanatos finally had returned home, freed of his chains and proud once more. The moral would only know pain now, never to see the skies or feel the breeze on their skin. A just and fair punishment as far as Hypnos cared.
But this wasn’t the Thanatos Hypnos knew. His brother was always the more quiet one, Hypnos was more than happy to fill in the silence but at least he used to smile. He used to be able look people in the eye.
Thanatos wouldn’t even let their own mother touch him.
The gap between them grew, grew, grew and grew.
The only thing Hypnos was ever able to get out of him was a single response.
“What did those chains feel like?” Hypnos asked in a moment of weakness, his horrified curiosity winning over his mother’s warning.
“Like fire.” Thanatos said after a long pause. “It was so cold, it burned.”
~
There was a beat of silence and Hypnos let out a slow breath, his eyes on the spear tip. It was a mortal weapon in the hands of a god yet it was him who trembled.
Then a pair of hands, broad and calloused, very gently curled around his wrists. You stood in front of him, shifting his hands’ position. One of your hands slides along his wrist to his elbow to adjust it, causing goosebumps on his skin.
Hypnos fought down a blush. And tried to think of something to say. Something clever.
“I guess it is a good thing I don’t actually want to fight, huh?” Hypnos jokes, his voice only cracking a little. You blinked at him, hand still on his elbow. You kept there, seemingly obvious to it or its effects on Hypnos.
“If you don’t want to, then why are you training?” You asked.
Hypnos swallowed nervously but you didn’t sound upset, like Hypnos had been wasting your time. Thanatos would have sharp words if Hypnos did this to him, ending with a long painful talk with their mother. You should have been upset with Hypnos yet he couldn’t put a name to what your tone was.
Your hand still lingered and when you stood this close, it made his belly flip flopped. Hypnos shrugged, glancing away from you, his cheeks still flushed.
“I- I think I just want to understand what it's like. I’m more a lover than a fighter, you know?” Hypnos said finally, biting down on his bottom lip as he peeked back at you.
“You’re getting better, you know that right?” You said simply. Like it was nothing. His whole body responded to the praise, perking up. You must realize your hands were still on him because you dropped your hold and stepped away. He tried not to mourn at the loss of contact, his body wanting to follow you.
“Besides, not everyone should be a fighter. It would make for a very obnoxious place.” You said with a nod.
“Like Elysium?” Hypnos said mindlessly then he winced. He had just insulted you and every hero in the underworld. He needed to learn to control his mouth. He felt the faint ghost of his mom’s disappointment.
You gave him a surprise look then a very real and beautiful smile grew on your face, a flash of white teeth and eyes bright with amusement and Hypnos forgot how to breathe. His stomach dropped like he was falling from a great height.
“Just like Elysium.” You agreed with a low chuckle. Hypnos beamed, not even caring about how flushed his face was. He did that. He got you to smile again. He liked to think that you smiled like that only for him.
“Now, try again.”
~
Nightmares didn’t scare Hypnos. Just as dreams were almost mindless creatures, so were nightmares. They were only a fractured reflection of the soul dreaming them.
Oily black shadows darted between his feet. If he had bothered to shine a light on them, he would be able to see the green and purple and red shades of their forms.
Another one brushed against his fingers, and he saw or rather he felt a hand pressing down on his mouth, sharp nails digging in his cheeks. Hypnos shook his head, his own hand rubbing his mouth in annoyance and the feeling disappeared.
He debated if he should let the nightmare go . It belonged to one of the shades in construction but he supposed that wasn’t his choice. He watched the nightmare leave his realm with a heavy rolling guilt in his belly.
Hypnos could be cruel in his own ignorance. It was something he was working on. He still hated that he joked about killing all mortals, especially now since there was one in his bed that he would give anything for.
However just like death, nightmares had their place in the world.
With that in mind, he turned to one of the lingering shadows, looking up at it with a frown. Ares’ face stared back at him. It wasn’t Ares, but the shadow did alright. It certainly got that horrible blood thirsty grin down, Hypnos thought with a frown.
One of these days, he would explain it to his mortal and selfishly take comfort that you will understand. That you will forgive him for the times that weren't an accident. He always made a point of not looking into his family’ dreams or nightmares. An attempt to give them some privacy of their own thoughts.
He wanted that for his mortal as well. But he just started to get you to go to sleep sometimes. However, every single time he did, you woke up from nightmares. Eyes wide and a faint trembling in those strong hands.
Hypnos shooed it away and the shadow went back to the dark, bearing its teeth but it was already giving up the shape it chose. There was no real anger from the shadow, it would have its chance again and knew it.
He couldn’t do this every time even if he wished otherwise, it wasn’t healthy for the mind. All had to rest, all needed to dream and all must face their nightmares.
So just for now, he will send them away.
Until you were strong enough. And if you ever need him again, Hypnos would be there to send the nightmares away.
~
It took Hypnos a moment to realize that Megarea was coming over to him. Once it used to cause a nervous flutter in his chest but not anymore. The quirk of her full lips told him she had noticed.
“Hypnos.” She greeted lightly, watching him sign her name in. He put a little smiley face by her name, mostly out of habit.  He wondered if she would be amused by it.
“Meg! Zagreus got lucky again, huh?” Hypnos replied with a beaming smile. “Man I remember when you used to send him packing with a single crack of that whip.”
Meg rolled her eyes but she didn’t seem too upset. “Achilles trained him well. Your mortal did a fine job as well.”
The quill almost snapped in his finger and the smile froze on his face. He blinked at Meg, hating that he already could feel a flush forming on his cheeks. He laughed nervously. “My mortal? I-“
“Don’t.” Megarea warned gently. “I heard about him from Zagreus and Thanatos.”
“Oh.” Hypnos bit his thumbnail. It was one thing to him to call you that privately in his own mind; it was another to hear it outloud. Thanatos only called you ‘that mortal’ and Zagrues only used your name. Hypnos wondered sometimes if Zagreus forgot you and Achilles were shades. Hypnos did sometimes.
Then he spoke up, “Yes, I’ve seen some of their training. Makes me want to take a nap just watching them.”
The joke worked, lightening the air between them. Meg smiled and Hypnos knew his past self would have been overjoyed to see it but now, it just felt like he made a friend happy and only that. It had nothing on your rare smiles. Or your low, warm laugh. Or how your hand would linger on him, like you didn’t want to let go.
“I’m glad for you. You and him suit each other well.” Megarea said. And it sounded like she meant it.
“Thank you.” Hypnos repiled, his shoulders relaxing. “I don’t think I told you but I am glad for you guys as well.”
“Thank you. And I will talk to your brother. “ Meg glanced at where Nyx was, out of sight and hidden by her roses. “I know he hasn't been supportive.”
Hypnos opened his mouth then closed it. He sighed and kept his voice low, not wanting others to overhear. “It’s fine. Really. I understand why.”
“So do I. But he is only hurting himself and you at this rate.” Megarea said quietly.
“Have you told your mortal why he is this way?”
“Not really.” Hypnos lied. It should have been Thanatos’ story to tell, not Hypnos. “My mortal knows something obviously happened but he doesn’t have all the details.”
Meg’s pink lips pursed but she let it go. Before leaving she did say, “I am happy for you, Hypnos.”
Hypnos could only offer her a beaming smile.
~
“What is this?” Hypnos took the note from the messenger shade who only offered a shrug before they moved on.
It was a single page.
Hypnos, Lord of Sleep
Meet me outside the house’ doors, I need to speak to you. It is urgent.
Y/N
Hypnos reread it, the dread he already had before you and his twin left grew even more in the pit of his stomach. The handwriting was neat. Too neat. And you never had ever used his title.
Your waiting was more thin, and the letters tended to merge together when you wrote quickly. Often you had to pause to crack your knuckles, muttering to yourself how tiny and useless the house quills were.
It was ridiculous how easily he could imagine you in his mind. How the way your fingers curled around the quill, how your mouth moved soundlessly when writing sometimes.
He read again. His title stuck out like a sore thumb. It was wrong. You would never write like this.
Under the dread, something else came forward, sharp and burning. Hypnos inhaled sharply, mouth thinning. He felt like he was choking on it. It was rare for him to feel pure rage. Even when you and him had that fight, anger was the last thing he felt.
Pyrrhus had caused enough pain. Hypnos never brought into the whole ‘mortals need to know their place’ thing but he will happily make an exception for Pyrrhus. Just like he did for Sisyphus
“Fine.” Hypnos said quietly to himself. “So be it.”
Pyrrhus wasn’t the first to underestimate Hypnos.
~
You placed the spear next to the bed, within reach.  Hypnos eyed it, the metal tip freshly sharpened.  He sat up, letting the blanket pooled on his lap, biting down on his lip.
“You know, you are safe here right?” Hypnos asked quietly. You paused, staring at him for a moment then toward your weapon.
“Ah.”  You hesitated. “I can put it somewhere else.”
Hypnos shook his head and beckoned you to come join him. You tugged off your tunic, and Hypnos’ mouth went dry. Even scarred, you looked strong. When you joined him on the bed, his hand went to your jaw, cupping it and leaned up for a kiss.
It was quickly becoming one of his favorite things, kissing you. He didn’t realize there were so many wonderful and different kinds of kisses, the deep ones that lingered even after or the hard, passionate ones that made him burn.
He quickly became fond of the soft kisses the most, the slowness made his mind quieten just a bit, and you were so, so gentle with him.
Your hands landed on his waist, one of your thumbs rubbing circles on his stomach. The kiss broke but you pressed one more in the corner of his mouth. You watched his face carefully.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to move it?” You asked, one of your hands moving to press against the small of his back.
“I’m sure. It. I don’t know. It's just- do you not feel safe? Master Hades has a spell out though the whole house. No fighting allowed.” Hypnos said.
Your mouth twitched, eyes unfocused just for a split second. Then you sighed, pressing into his palm.
“It's not a matter of feeling safe.” You paused. “It's just even with all the security, even with my training. I know just how quickly things can get dangerous.”
Hypnos frowned, wanting to tell you were wrong but he couldn’t. You saw the expression on his face and kissed his forehead.
You lingered and kept your voice low. “I am safe here and it comforts me to know that you feel safe, that you are safe here. I cannot tell you how much relief that brings me.”
Hypnos shifted, meeting your eyes. The lean in was slow, and the kiss spoke for him and for you, saying more than words could. He hoped that you knew that even if he didn't understand everything, he understood you.
~
It was rare for Hypnos to leave the house, but he knew something was wrong when he saw no other shade outside the doors. So he waited, not moving farther out. His fingers twitched, a powerful sleep spell at the ready. He was sure your his magic and the training you gave him would be more than enough.
Only it wasn’t enough.
Hypnos knew such things could happen quickly. He had read battle accounts. He remembered your words.
A faint sound came from behind Hypnos, of rushing footsteps and harsh breathing.
Pyrrhus was Achilles’ son as well, a warrior himself and just as swift.
His red hair was like a war banner in the green light of Tartarus. His eyes were wild, bloodshot. Those burning blue eyes were the last thing Hypnos saw before the metal clasped around his hands.
It felt like ice formed in his very being, sharp and jagged, digging into the warmth of a star.
So cold, it burned.
Hypnos tried to scream but nothing came out.

D&D Quotes Without Context
Ravenloft Edition, Fundertainment Land Arc FINAL
GM: A deep and dark hole, darker and deeper than any hole seen before, and at the bottom lays the ultimate horror; a stillborn dead godling, a true lord of the dead. One that has never been alive. Jonni: “Yeah, yeah, we’ve all seen Pat Sajak.” And suddenly, Gusto, Marshal's griffin mount, is there, gnawing on his head. Again. "Nope, nope. There has to be another way down there. I can't see the bottom, if there is a bottom.” “Maybe it’s a leap of faith? Eddie, you jump first.” You suddenly hear deep and ominous laughter from the hole. “Yeah, no.” GM OOC: Rule number 1 of evil baby hole. Do not mock evil baby hole. OOC: Unless say, you wanted evil baby to come out of its hole. Gorbash: “Okay flight options: Poom and I have our brooms, Marshal has a griffon gnawing on his head, Jonni has rocket feet.” Nyx: "You nasty thing, if that was a friendly warning it was disgusting. You really are just a big baby.” Nyarlathotep: "Probably of the ‘man’ variety.” Jonni: “Please. Do you how many ominous red lights in dark holes I’ve seen?” Poom: "Why are there red lights in said holes? Wait, I don't want to know.” Poom gets on her broom. Azathoth: "And your little dog, too.” GM OOC: So you guys are heading down the murder hole. “Go with your nerd heart.” “Just remember, what happens in the vessel, stays in the vessel.” There's a lot of bones, and heads on pikes, mostly elves and Tabaxi. Poom: "Homey decor.” GM: No sign of Danzi. "Danzi either ran, or got absorbed by the dead godling.” “Or the death tyrant.” GM: Or maybe he was never here at all. OOC: No, he was here. I mind-crushed him. "Gorbash. You are NOT eating the Atropal.” "This isn't your average everyday cold...This is...Advanced cold.” A giant rotted corpse of a baby, bigger than any of you, its milky dead eyes starring right through you. Jonni: “Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen Danny DeVito.” "I am the Atropal. But you may call me SUPER KAMI ATROPAL.” The hooded figures pull back their hoods, revealing horrible faces twisted in horror with black empty eyes. Poom: "It's like kindergarten all over again.” Holy flame lights up the chamber as Marshal's slab-sword ignites. It gets even brighter as Gorbash ignites his Sunblade. And just slightly brighter as Poom puts on mirrored shades. “Beacon of Hope!” Marshal shouts, as each of his allies feels the warmth of a blue corgi trying to give them kisses. OOC: Can't smite the shit out of them if I don't get closer. OOC: I think Stav made them so dead they are alive again. "If you want someone murdered right, DO IT YOURSELF!” GM: *rips off shirt* Come on. I CAN TAKE IT. I CAN TAKE IT. Kentucky fried Atropal. Sadly not even in the bottom 5 of Marshals worst dishes. Gorbash: “I needed practice for the next god-bomination on my shit list. You were an okay warm-up.” Suddenly the room is full of spectral figures; Park patrons, workers, elvish and Tabaxi nobles. Jonni: “Ladies.” "You all are fired. Go in what peace you can find in the Domains of Dread.” "Why do so many bosses rig their places to collapse after they are defeated?” "Scab labor.” "Hey Jonni, when’s the last time we did it on top of a pile of our vanquished enemies?” “What day is it? Friday? So last week I think.” “Damn, that long?” Jonni vaporizes a guard beating an ice cream mascot. Edmund: "This is insane!” Poom: "Do you mean more than usual?” "...." Edmund gestures with one hand, like weighing a scale. Gunder: ”THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” Jonni: “I need you to be more specific.” Poom: “Why?" And they proceed to choke each other before the YetiTarrasque steps on them. Poom: "They tied.” Jonni: “Guys, we’ll catch up. Vesh ‘n me are gonna do it on that burning carousel to warm up for later.” Poom pees on something. Marshal: "My Lord HADES! the great evil upon the Domains is banished. but many need a new home worth living. In thy great name, I would lead this exodus." Jonni leans over to Gorbash, “He knows where his boss works, right?” Gorbash: “He's on a roll, let him have this.” Gorbash: “So Marshal, you just razed the birthplace of your nightmares to the ground... How do you feel?” "I'm pretty sure eating there gave me a parasite, and I'm a genie. My stomach is a literal furnace.” “It’s true. She got acid reflux once. Thirteen people died.” As you watch, a huge metal tripod suddenly emerges from the forest, moving slowly towards you, it emits a deafening noise. Azathoth: "B-movie territory, woohoo!” It looms over, and fires a blast of concentrated heat at Vesh, which....does nothing. Vesh: ”HA! You think thats gonna hurt me? I bathe in hotter shit than that. You're gonna have to do a lot better....” Then it tries stepping on her. Vesh: ”OH CRAP ITS DOING BETTER.” Jonni: “No one steps on my wife but me! And maybe Crushinator, if she’s into it!” Poom, broom, vroom. OOC: Exchange at work: Co-worker: Are you a licensed professional? Me: No, but I am an enthusiastic amateur! OOC: Ever sell any haunted houses? OOC2: That’s Realtors. OOC: Ah.....Ever appraise any haunted houses? OOC2: None that anyone told me they thought were, but I know someone that did. Fun fact, you can be sued if you sell a house you believe to be haunted and you don’t disclose it. OOC: You can’t kill Real Estate. Realtor: “So how was the home?” Family: “Oh it was fine except for the HORRIBLE MONSTER HAG NEXT DOOR.” Realtor: “Oh right, her. But aside from that it’s fine right?” Guy: “Alright real talk, my boss caught me writing inappropriate comments about him in the bathroom stall so now I get all the creepy nightmare houses. Believe me when I say that this is the least terrible place I could have showed you. Be grateful I didn't show you the pig house. I lost three people giving a tour of that house.” OOC: I'm here. What'd I miss? GM OOC: The evil hole cabbage burped on you.

Clarisse had finally come to visit you, temporarily leaving Camp Half-Blood and rejoining the human world. She was almost finished with her chosen quest, and your girlfriend managed to schedule time with you before she returned back to camp. Her other friends, Chris and Luke went to visit their mortal friends and families, taking the opportunity, not knowing when they’d see them again.
At first, Clarisse reunited with her mom who was overall shocked and slightly concerned by the surprise visit of her daughter. The Ares girl had ensured her mom that she was on a quest, which was soon done, and there was nothing to worry about.
“I bet, y/n, your girlfriend misses you too.” Her mom teases her daughter, laughing when Clarisse intensely blushes at the mention of you. “Come on, I’ll drop you off at her apartment.”
A few hours ago, you talked with Clarisse’s mom over the phone, briefly catching up with your ongoing lives. Little did you know that Clarisse was there, listening to the conversation, an easygoing smile rested upon her face at your voice. Clarisse wanted to surprise you, and with her mom’s help, they conjured up a plan.
It was a regular Friday night for you, watching cheesy romantic movies and eating greasy pizza. The thought of your girlfriend made the movie a little worthwhile, but not enough to actually be blessed with her presence.
You refused to live with adoptive families, and your parents agreed in a consensus, aware that you were mature enough to have the decency to live alone. Living in an apartment by yourself, granted by your parents, they paid the bills and gave you money to spend on necessities for both life and school, with a monthly allowance for your pampering.
Like concerned godly parents, they randomly checked up on you, just to make sure you’re doing alright, with no school-related stress whatsoever. An unforgettable visit was when you told them about Clarisse, your secret girlfriend at the time, and they were so ecstatic that you felt annoyed. Since then, your parents laid down some ground rules for whenever Clarisse spent quality alone time with you.
Maybe, it would have been less embarrassing for you if Clarisse wasn’t right there beside you, intimidated by your parents and Aunt Nyx. At least, the first dinner wasn’t as awkward as that encounter, you kept the conversation light and your beloved girlfriend was too nervous. Her anticipation withered away by seeking comfort from your conjoined hands underneath the table, squeezing your hand every so often.
Your mother, Persephone saw a bit of Clarisse in her, the constant need to protect her loved ones, already viewing Clarisse in a different light. Neglecting the formalities of the ‘meeting your girlfriend’s parents’ dinner stereotype, classifying the Ares girl as her future daughter-in-law, causes your girlfriend to be a blushing mess.
Aunt Nyx watched Clarisse’s every move, silently and curiously, trying to decipher something about her. Whether she was good enough for her favorite niece or to predict if Clarisse was an immediate threat to you, and needed to be terminated. Whenever your girlfriend attempts to converse with her, the goddess keeps her words brief, not interested in small talk.
Worth noting that your girlfriend seemed to make a positive impression on Hades, your father, despite having just met her a few minutes ago. Surprisingly, he may have felt a certain fondness towards her, adoring that she’s dating his youngest daughter.
By the end of the night, all Clarisse wanted to do was go to sleep, cuddled up all into your arms, completely exhausted by trying to impress your parents and aunt.
“My parents love you, Clary,” The curly-haired places her face in your lap as you scratch her head, avoiding some noticeable knots. “I don’t get it, what’s the problem?”
“What about your aunt? She seems skeptical of me throughout the whole dinner.”
“It takes some time for my Aunt Nyx to open up, but I’m sure you’ll manage.” You explain to her, “Besides you didn’t even meet my siblings yet.”
“There’s more of you?!”
“Clary!” you exclaimed at her boldness, shoving her away from your lap. Her tone was sarcastic, intending it to be hilarious to ease the tension.
“Nico and Bianca had other plans. They’ll attend the next one.” You chuckle at her sense of humor.
“This next dinner isn’t anytime soon right?”
As you remained quiet and averted your gaze, her expression gradually transformed into one of fear and apprehension. The silence that lingered between you two grew increasingly uneasy, and her face began to take on an unnerving stillness like she was anticipating the worst possible outcome from this interaction.
“Y/N, this dinner isn’t anytime soon, right?”
“Baby, you know I love you right.”
Yeah, you were taking the easy way out of this, hoping she’d catch on quickly and she did.
“Pretty girl…” she whined, flinging her head back into your lap. “Why do you insist on doing this to me?”
“Because you love me and want to make me happy.”
“Totally uncalled for…” she mumbles, annoyed that you were right once again.
“But am I wrong?”
Shaking her head in disagreement your smile widened at her answer.
“Will a kiss make you feel better?” At that, Clarisse’s head whipped up, pouting her lips out, waiting for your lips to press onto hers. Rolling your eyes at her childishness, you press your lips against hers in a gentle manner and her arms secretly wrapped around your waist, during the kiss. She pulled you on top of her, as you both fell on the bed in a fit of giggles.
That was three months ago, and Clarisse went back to camp, leaving you with vivid memories of her.
There was a knock on the door, you rolled your eyes and ignored it, thinking it was your landlord coming to complain about nonsense again. However, when the knocking became more persistent and frantic, you groaned agitated as you lazily got up from the couch, heading towards the door.
You swing open the door, sighing heavily as you roll your eyes at the unknown visitor, “What? What do you seriously want?”
It took a minute for you to come to your senses and your eyebrows furrowed in surprise, as you recognized the familiar face.
Clarisse greets you with a teasing tone, "I was expecting a more happy hello!" Her lips curl into a genuine smile, which you know is reserved only for you. You can see the warmth in her eyes as she playfully pokes fun at your initial greeting.
Your sulky attitude is replaced with a joyous grin that overtakes your face, “Clary!” you exclaim excitedly, instantly bringing her in for a bear hug. Your girlfriend smiles at your familiar warmth as she wraps her arms around you too.
The Ares girl stumbles into your apartment without breaking the long overdue hug, closing and locking the door behind her. Guess, it was true, distance really makes the heart grow fonder.
“I missed you so much,” you whined, allowing her to pull you closer by the waist, staying in the hug for a minute longer.
“I’ve missed you too…” she admits, pulling away from the hug.
You guided her throughout your apartment, hands interlocked together when you reached your bedroom.
“So when did you arrive back to the human world?”
“A few days ago…”
“And now you’re just visiting me!” you playfully hit her shoulder. “Was I even on your mind?”
“Of course you were. You’re on my mind 24/7.” she cooly replies, leaning her forehead against yours, entrapping you by the waist.
You lick your lips slowly, jutting out your bottom lip and you start to speak again, “That’s how it should be,”
“Trust me, angel, it definitely is.” she grins at you sheepishly.
“Do you think you can stay here tonight? I’m so lonely without you.”
Dragging her towards the bed, still clasping on her rough hands, you look up at the girl staring down at you. Staring piercingly from her eyes through yours, seemingly being taller when you sit on the bed.
“I told you, babe, if you just come back to camp with me then you wouldn’t feel so alone.” She joins you on the bed.
“And besides I’ll see you all day every day, that’s the biggest blessing I could ever get!”
“Hmm, I’ll think about it…” you ponder on her suggestion. Making immediate eye contact, you flush under her loving gaze and her smile never falters. Smoothly she placed her finger underneath your chin, swooning just by her simple touch as she lifted your face to meet her eyes.
“Why are you staring at me like that?” you shyly smile, ducking your head down. Your face turned hot as you shyly smiled at her compliment. Clarisse was certainly smitten by you, her beloved girlfriend, and this was just hardcore proof.
Thankfully, your brown complexion hides your blush, resisting to ignite any more sort of teasing from her.
“How can I not? You’re just so gorgeous, the moonlight radiates your beauty even more.” Her eyes twinkle underneath the moonlight, adoration roaming in her eyes, sweetly staring at you with an innocent smile placed on her lips.
“Stop, teasing me like that..” you meekly reply, getting up, breaking the intense eye contact. You had been dating for a few months now, and the butterflies in her stomach were still just as strong as when you first met.
Clarisse rises, balancing her upper body weight on her elbows, “I’m not teasing if you know it’s true.” she bites down on her lower lip, checking you out.
“You’re such a flirt, La Rue,” you gush over your girlfriend.
“And you love me being a flirt, don’t you?”
“If you’re being a flirt only towards me.”
“Who else would I flirt with? I’m dating the most generous, amazing, gorgeous, and talented girl. There’s no need for me to flirt with anyone else because you’re my everything. You’re my soulmate, the love of my life, what else could I search for when you already have everything I ever dreamed of.”
“Wow, Clarisse La Rue getting sappy with the words for me.” you feign indifference, completely getting up from the bed and Clarisse is quick on your trail. “If I didn’t know any better then I’d think you were Aphrodite’s daughter, you already have unmatchable beauty, what else don’t you have?”
The curly-haired girl sighed, arising from the bed, standing on her two feet as she ventured closer to you.
“Stop playing with me,” she lightly squeezes your hips dips, moreover your girlfriend’s so-called love handles, maintaining serious eye contact, “Only you can make me say these words, nobody else but you.”
Your fingers gently move around her arms, admiring your girlfriend’s muscles slightly glistening from the moonlight that peeked in from the windows. She smirked, realizing your lack of words was currently silenced. You were too stunned to reply, immensely captivated by her muscles, softly tracing across the multiple scars on her arms.
“Hey, princess.” her tone was sensitive and soft, similar to a whisper, a smirk coiling at her lips. Gaining your attention again with your touch still lingering onto her muscles, “You still here with me?”
“Not really,” you clear your throat, embarrassed that you’d been caught. The smirk on your girlfriend’s face only grew larger by the minute as your hands remained on her muscles. There was no way she was gonna let you live this down.
"Seems like someone can’t get enough of these muscles," she teases, noticing that you haven't released your grip just yet.
“Yeah, so, what?!” you grumble, rolling your eyes, and dropping your hands from Clarisse.
“Don’t take that attitude with me, angel.” And yet, her tone was still sensitive and sweet, and slightly demanding.
You huff, avoiding her gaze, and cross your arms in annoyance.
“Babe, look at me.” she kindly inquired and you begrudgingly listened, shifting your eyes onto her.
“I guess I also missed your muscles and how they used to comfort me at night.”
“That’s good to know because I miss holding you with them,”
“Sure you do.” She brings a kiss to your temple.
“Great, now what were we talking about?”
“Did you seriously forget our conversation?”
An eyebrow raised was aimed in your direction.
“I didn’t!?” You protested against her false accusations, eyebrows bunching up in astonishment. Come to think of it, you realized that your brain had blocked out Clarisse’s voice, absolutely too mesmerized by her muscles instead. “Well, maybe I did, I kinda sorta was zoning out for a bit…but can you blame me, like look at your muscles!”
“No worries, babe,” she chuckles, “We were talking about how I’m only vulnerable towards you.”
“Oh, that’s what I like to hear…” you smile cheekily at the curly-haired girl. Her serious demeanor doesn’t fade away and you notice it, your smile changing to a firm line.
“Pretty girl, I’m serious. No one else can compare to you in my eyes, whether it’s appearance or personality. I will always have eyes for you, no matter what, that’s a promise.”
Highly aware of the fact that you were insecure about your relationship, quick to recognize your flaws, and berate yourself for things beyond your control. Luckily, you were blessed to have a caring girlfriend who never failed to comfort you with her daily affirmations. Her thoughtfulness and unwavering support were a source of comfort and reassurance for you.
You bop her nose, causing a small smile to erupt on her face as she bursts into laughter. From the moment Clarisse met you, she never knew how hard she’d fall for you, and if she could unconditionally fall in love harder with every moment spent with you. No one else made her feel like this before, completely smitten and in love, vaguely expressing her softer side, the vulnerability that weighs heavy in her heart can wither away just as easily. Only you could achieve this and Clarisse was determined to keep it that way.
“In that case, I’m gonna need some help packing.”
“And all hands will be on deck.” Clarisse enthusiastically cheers.
“You’re something else, La Rue.” you shake your head.
“And you love me regardless.”
You playfully scoff at her coyness.
“Great when this quest is over, you’re coming back with me.” Clarisse urges, nudging at your side, “You’re never leaving my side again.”
“Won’t we be in different cabins?”
“I’ll sneak out to you at night,” she suggested, “We need privacy anyway, I have too many siblings.”
Clarisse sat beside you, invading your personal space but you didn’t mind. The curly-haired girl kept you balanced, maintaining eye contact as you moved over to straddle her lap. Your girlfriend bites down on your lower lip, observing your sudden movements, and trails her hands downwards to your hips.
You smiled at her, pressing your lips against hers softly as she kissed you back. Her kisses were inviting and gentle which always made you swoon over intensely. During your first kiss with her, her lips were rough, harshly touching yours but as she progressed with the loving idea of being in a relationship with you, her kisses became more intense and soft.
She could kiss you a billion times, and that still wouldn’t suffice for you, Clarisse made sure you know that on numerous occasions, often being the one to overextend your kisses.
Desperately needing her by your side without any complications was deemed necessary, and luckily you’ve had some time on your hands to waste. So what was a better way to bypass time than making out? Nothing, exactly…and nobody stopped you…with your girlfriend’s attitude, it’s nearly impossible to even attempt. Well, unless they were looking for an ass-beating from Clarisse.
An infuriated Clarisse wasn’t someone you wanted to mess with, but you found it quite tolerable, sometimes getting her to calm down. Of course, your girlfriend was concerned whenever her anger displayed in front of you but shrugged it off, knowing you’d be her peace every time.
You felt your girlfriend’s smile in the kiss as she deepened it, her grip on your waist tightening.
It was one of those slow and steady kisses that you cherished with her. There was no need to rush your makeout, a calm chaste kiss sealed the deal and got the point across. You missed her dearly throughout the summer season when she was at camp only further divulging and so did she. Clarisse was just drowning in your lips, radiating her 3 months of yearning for you, putting all of her passion into these kisses, just like she promised to achieve in those phone calls she’d make daily for you.
Yes, to others, it could be acknowledged as small, passing it off as nothing, only to be forgotten. But not for you.
You adored the tiny detail that Clarisse attempted to improve for both of you, mainly for you. Seeking the desperation of needing your approval of her kissing techniques. She was persistent in making you know that she cared about passion and intimacy, just as you did. She practiced, and over time she majorly progressed, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world and Clarisse could still feel it when you kissed her. Other times, you’d found her hot in her enraged state, mindlessly admitting that, engaged in the intense make-out, which only boosted her ego, yet calmed her down.
Sucking in a breath as the kiss intensified, one of Clarisse’s hands traveled to your lower back as the other remained on your hips, lightly squeezing the flesh there. You moaned in the kiss, spurring your girlfriend further on as she tugged at your lower lips, biting down gently, hardly enticing any discomfort from you.
Clarisse gave you time to adjust yourself again as she stared at you in contentment. Your hand teasingly runs down from the crevices of her breasts down to her toned abdomen and her breath hitched at this. However, she gains dominance as her hands grip the flesh of your thighs, squeezing down on them as you shuffle slightly.
She couldn’t go on with another minute without your loving kisses. Those kisses shared with you, your soft and sweet lips, were like nicotine to her, a special type of drug, stupidly yearning for your lips even more. Insanely addicted to your lips making her act crazy, practically begging on her knees for an ounce of your attention, wondering if you saw her in the same light she perceived for you.
Eventually leading up to where she can get insanely high, and resist the temptation to become sober. Never take the risk of being sober if it means that she gets to be high off of you every day, obsessed by everything you achieved. Like hell was your girlfriend was gonna waste the chance of losing your touch once more, she’d be crazy enough to beat those allegations.
The Ares girl was known for her impatience, nothing certainly new there, even timing you with barely a minute to spare.
As a matter of fact, she hastily grabs your face, with a decent amount of force, connecting your lips with hers, creating another powerful kiss. With one hand lightly caressing your face and her other hand still squeezing your thighs with much-added force. Taken by surprise, your eyes slightly widened but ferociously captured hers again in a luscious manner. Clarisse’s back crashes on the bed, dragging you down with her, not breaking a sweat, keeping you close and connected with her.
‘Gods, I’m so crazy about my girl,’ Clarisse thought.
‘I’d do anything to protect her, she’s the love of my life,’ you thought.
Either way, you two were utterly obsessed with each other, and nothing or nobody could ruin it, not if both of you had anything to say.

Can I have a script between Hermes and Apolo managed to brake in their missing sister room that been locked?
I imagine that the room is full of gifts from her mother and older brother and the color is mostly of Uncle hades colors with a mix of white, but what if they found a wooden box full of love letters from one of Nyx sons, and seeing how the two of them are in love for a longest time before the separation
[Midnight - Mount Olympus]
[The moon shined brightly upon the kingdom above the clouds as the constellations conversed with each other in harmony but in the halls of the palace - there were two individuals on a mission. Hermes poked his head around the corner, making sure that the hall was clear before looking behind him at Apollo who clinched a key in his grasp. The two of them stealthfully marched to the large grand door that was placed at the end of the hall.]
Apollo (Looks at Hermes): That was too close, I thought I was going to wake Hera when I went into her room to get the key.
Hermes: Sorry about that, brother, but I was too chicken to go in there. You have the key, right?
Apollo (Holds the key up with a smile on his face): Yes, let's do this.
[Apollo placed the key into the lock, turning it under the sound of the door unlocking rung in their ears. Apollo removed the key from the now unlocked door, sliding it into his pocket as Hermes reached up to the knob, grasped it, and turned to it before pushing the door open and the two of them crept into the room. Inside the room looked like storage but well put together - it was [Y/n's] Room after she left.]
Hermes: Whoa... Look at all this stuff. (Picks up a box) 'To: [Y/n], From: Mother'. This stuff is from Hera.
Apollo (Holding another box): This one is from Ares. (Looks around the room) Looks like the two of them have been gathering gifts for when [Y/n] returns... If [Y/n] returns.
Hermes: I don't think she will. After all the crap the other put her through, I highly doubt that she would return here. (Looks at all the gifts) No matter how many gifts Hera and Ares get for her.
Apollo: There are also some banners with Hades and Posideon's Colors on them. I know she was close to them, I also heard from Father's conversation with Hera that Hades had something to do with [Y/n] leaving.
Hermes (Looks around): Really? How so?
Apollo (Leans against the wall with his arms folded): I think he told her about the Staff of Separation and told her how to use it.
Hermes: I just he was looking out for her... Hm? What's this? (Picks up a small wooden box)
Apollo (Walks over to Hermes and looks at the box): That doesn't look like a gift.
Hermes: No... I think this belongs to [Y/n]. (Opens the box and sees it's full of letters, he picks one up and opens it before reading it):
"My Dear Deathbell,
I long for the touch of your skin. The sound of your voice. The scent of your fragrance. I know that you are struggling with your siblings and it pains me to hear that you wish to leave godhood to become mortal but I cannot say that I do not understand - with family like that, who needs foes? While it would break my heart not to have you for all eternity as we planned all those years ago, it would break my heart even more if you continue to live in such displeasure. If you need anything of me, please, do not halt yourself in asking me; I shall aid you no matter what. You are the light of my life and I shall protect that light no matter what...even if that light is no longer mine.
~ Your Loving Death, Thanatos"
Apollo: [Y/n] was involved with a Son of Nyx?!
Hermes (Covers Apollo's mouth): Shhhh! Are you trying to get us caught?!
Apollo (Behind Hermes' Hand): Sorry.
Hermes (Places the letter back in the box before closing it): Ya know, I haven't heard about Thanatos in a while. Do you think he left with her?
Apollo: I don't know, he's a minor god and you don't really hear much about him.
Hermes: Maybe... Wherever she is, I hope she's okay.
[Unaware to either of them, a massive figure stood outside the door with his arms folded and tears in his eyes.]

Tangled starlights
(working title)
Also hc that Hypnos is also working when he sleeping, he does his job as God of sleep. He can also do a normal sleep so he can get rest. But he doesn't get nearly as much he needs.
Part four of marriage AU
No beta.
🌙💤💤🌙
You stood in the dusty room as Hypnos floated around, lighting the candles on the walls.
You didn't think you would return to this room. Not after what happened a few days ago. Your stomach twisted in anxiety. You weren't upset exactly but you didn't expect such a strong response.
"And no one has kept up with the library?" You asked. You didn't want to think about *it* right now.
You walked along the shelfs, the scrolls seemed to be calling for you.
"Mother made this place before Hades took over the house for her and he didn't deem any of this stuff important." He replied, and pointed to a door at the far end of the room.
Hypnos waved a hand around. "There are more in that room also. When she was younger, she used to collect as many stories and knowledge as she could. But she never took the time to actually organize it."
Hypnos lit the last candle and floated down to stand. He kept some distance between You and him. Only his bright eyes followed you around the room as you wondered.
"If you don't want to, it's totally fine. This is a lot-"
"N-no. I want to!" You shook your head. "I helped Athens with her library the few times she needed to update it."
You stopped and turned with a smile. "Also I like a good story and I don't doubt that your mother has some great ones in here."
Hypnos returned your smile and you tried not to think about how close he was last night.
"Great! I'll get Dusa to help you clean up the dust in here."  He glanced around the room, "And maybe some chairs and tables."
"Yes. Might be helpful." You teased him. And felt a little warm at his laugh.
🌙💤💤🌙
Several hours in and you were bone tired and dusty.
So.Very.Dusty.
"Hey Dusa! How is it looking up there?" You called out.  Dusa quickly floated to You. Her green, shiny skin was now dark gray with dust but that didn't stop the beaming smile.
You smiled back, already so fond of Dusa. It felt like You had spent a day with one of your sisters.
"I think we got all the dust! I'm just sorry we had to remove all the scrolls out of their place."  She glanced at the piles of scrolls in the corner, carefully stacked together.
You shook your head, "It's okay. I've been told it was already a bit of a mess so no harm done."
"O-oh good!" She bobbed in the air. " I think-"
"Oh wow, I didn't realize we had so many scrolls."  An male voice drifted through the door.
You and Dusa both turned toward the door, surprised at the visitor.
Zagreus stood, hands on hips as he looked at the pile that loomed over him.
"O-oh Prince! Be careful!" Dusa rushed over to him. You followed, of course he will show up when you and Dusa were both a mess.
"Don't worry, I won't touch it." Zagreus smiled at You. " Sorry for coming at a bad time. I heard from Mother Nyx that Hypnos' wife was taking over the library. And I realized I haven't induced myself yet. I'm Zagreus.
"My name is Y/N and I would shake your hand but…" You held up your hands, covered in dust and grime.
"Of course. If you ever need anything, just let me know." Zagreus' mismatched eyes studied your face as he said it.
"Thank you, Prince Zagreus. Dusa has been an amazing help already."  You tilted your head to Dusa who blushed.
"O-oh it is not a problem! I'm happy to help!" Dusa murmured.
"Dusa is amazing isn't she? Our hardest worker for sure." Zagreus praised, he sounded so proud of her.
"Oh oh my, excuse me! I- I need to get cleaned up." Dusa rushed out, her blush visible even with the dust
"Oh dear." Zagreus said. "We might have been a bit much. But it is good that she hears it. Goodness knows Father doesn't understand how hard she works for this house."
You weren't quite sure what to say. You didn't want to take sides yet or ever if it can be avoided. You have seen too many times what happens when two gods get into a fight with each other.
"You'll have to forgive me but Dusa is right. A hot bath sounds like a dream right now." You smiled at him, glad for the excuse.
"Of course! I will leave you to it, Y/N!" Zagreus nodded and waved goodbye as he left.
You sighed. Hopefully this room will be worth the trouble.
🌙💤💤🌙
You couldn't remember the last time you felt so relaxed. There was nothing like a hot bath, you mused.
You tore off a part of the warm bread and popped it into your mouth. You eyed the pomegranate but went for the olive. Save the best for last you thought.
You laid on top of the covers, feeling like the most spoiled being alive. You went for another olive.

What a day.  But at least you were moving forward and now there was a job for you to do.
inevitably, you thought about Hypnos. He was still at work, you last heard. You knew he slept on the job but that wasn't a rest. Not really.
You thought about what he said before. How being more powerful than your sisters. No one ever said that, why would they? It is clear what the gods liked.
Hermes may have the only exception (at least until Hypnos) that enjoyed her powers but even then he never said what Hypnos did.
Hermes had always pushed a little more, made her try harder to be a little more quick and clever. Your older brother in everything but blood. Hermes had been one of the few people You missed other than your sisters.
He did travel to the underworld sometimes. Maybe you could see him again. Give him letters for your sisters.
Your eyes drifted closed, the dark red
canopy were the last thing you saw before sleep overtook You.
🌙💤💤🌙
There were sounds outside your door. You blinked at the candles by your bedside. They were much lower than before you went to sleep. The only sign that any time had passed at all.
You frowned at your door. It sounded like an argument. You stood and quietly walked to the door. You pressed your ear against it.
But the bloody thing was so thick, you weren't sure what was being said.
But you weren't going to just stand there especially after being woken up so rudely. You looked around your chambers for a weapon. Just in case.
You frowned when you realized there was nothing. You would just have to be ready to slam the doors.
With a deep breath, you pushed your bedchambers open.
The two men outside went quiet. Hypnos and another man You didn't know stood before you.
"Great, just great. Now look at what you did." Hypnos snapped at the other man.
"Me?" The man snapped back. He was about the same height as Hypnos but unlike Hypnos he wore only dark colors. His scythe loomed over all three as it gleamed even the candlelight.
"Yes you!" Hypnos grumbled. He turned to You, his normal smile gone. And you couldn't help but notice how much deeper the black circles have gotten.
"Y/N, I'm sorry. You will have to forgive us for our lack of manners. You can go back to sleep now." Hypnos turned back to the man. "Brother, I think our 'little talk' is done for now. You should be getting back to work right?" Hypnos' tone was sharp.
You didn't realize he could sound like that. Also brother?
The man frowned, and looked at You then at Hypnos.
"Fine, but you have a duty to the house. You need to grow up at some point."
Then he turned on his foot and walked away.
Once he was out of sight, Hypnos sighed as he looked at you. He was floating, the candles highlighted his face.
"I didn't know you had a brother." You stepped out of your bedchambers. You were only in a draped linen gown, a little inappropriate but you were too curious not to know.
"Two brothers, Thanatos and Charon. You just 'met' my twin, Thanatos." Hypnos said.
You could hear the exhaustion in his voice and your heart twisted. You will ask more about his brothers later.
"Have you gotten any sleep?" You felt silly asking the god of sleep if he got any rest.  But those dark circles were all the proof you needed.
"Sure, I fall asleep on all time especially on the job!" Hypnos' smiled meanly, his hands spread out in a mock shrug.
"I mean real sleep." You crossed your arms. "Surely, the naps you take aren't enough."
Almost out of nowhere, a thought came.
"Wait, what exactly are you doing when you napping?" You asked.
Hypnos raised an eyebrow and silent took over.
"Does it matter?" He finally responded.
"It matters. At least to me." You didn't know what to make of this whole argument. There was something you were missing but you don't know what.
Hypnos was silent as he stopped floating. He walked closer, his light golden eyes not leaving your own eyes. You resisted stepping back, staying in place with your arms crossed. You cursed how warm you felt when Hypnos stopped in front of you.
"My brother is the God of Death. He gets those last few minutes of a human's life. Unbelievably terrifying for those poor humans I imagine." Hypnos leaned forward, his hand pressed against the wall, next to your waist.
You could feel a blush crawl up your neck and cheeks. "And what do you get?" You asked, hating the small tremble in your voice.
"One third. Sometimes more than that. Slowly over the years. When I sleep, I can go to humans and give them sleep or take away any sleep they want."

Hypnos' eyes were beautiful and you felt so exposed.
"So you haven't been getting much real sleep at all." You said, tearing your eyes away. On impulse, you reached up to touch the obol. You heard his breath hitched.
You had to put a stop to this. Or you would do something very foolish.
"Right then come along." You grabbed his wrist and pulled him into your bedchamber.
"Ah…" Hypnos sounded unsure.
"You need some sleep. I can't trust that you will if I leave you alone in your bedroom." Your blush was getting worse.  "Also I doubt I will be able to get any more sleep. So I'm just going to keep an eye on you while I finish up some letters."
You cleared off the bed and gestured towards your bed.
Hypnos just stood there. "You don't-"
You waved his words away. "No one will bother you in here, so just try to get a nap in."
You sat down at your desk, feeling very foolish. You grabbed a blank paper and started writing down tasks for the library.
You heard Hypnos moved around and settled in your bed. You thought you heard him murmured something but didn't turned around to look.

Eventually you heard his soft breathing. This time you did look. He didn't get under the cover but did take one of the pillows and was on the opposite side you slept on.
If anyone asked why you allowed this, you just say you were helping your husband as a wife should.
Nothing more, nothing less.
You nodded, and tried not to think how your heart fluttered earlier.
🌙💤💤🌙
Your eyes blinked open. Frowning in confusion, you looked down at your papers.  A blanket slipped off your shoulders and pooled around your feet.
Last night ( or day) memories flooded back. You had fell asleep at your desk.
You turned to look at your bed but Hypnos was gone. You didn't like how disappointed you felt. No need for that for that, you scolded yourself. You grapped the blanket to return it.

Only when you got closer, did you see what Hypnos left behind.
On the bed, a bottle of nectar and a note was tucked under the bottle.
'Thanks.' No name or anything, not that You needed one.

There was however a picture of an smiling face next to it.
"Oh Hypnos." You laughed.
Oh...
Oh dear what have You gotten yourself into to?

Death Doesn’t Await
Tumblr media
Pairing: Cassandra Dimitrescu x (Fem!Demigod)Reader
Summary: You didn't particularly hate your dad like your cousins do with their fathers. You just wanted to explore the outside world. Little did you know that little exploration would have your willingness to be up there, more consuming.
Warnings: Fighting, Blood, Family Argument, Broken Heart
A/n: N/a
“Teeth” - 5 Seconds of Summer [Play this when Achlys shows her ‘berserk’ form during a fight]
“A Thousand Years” - Christina Perri [Play this when Achlys leaves small gifts to Cassandra and when they meet face to face]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You could hear them...
Those poor souls...
The constant moans, groans and screaming from the souls that have passed from the world above. You were never allowed to see the world above. You were only meant to see the world through the souls that would pass by you.
“It’s not the most fun job mother...” You sigh
“I know,” Persephone coos
“But, at least you get to go up there... Why can’t you bring me with you one of these seasons?” You ask, turning to your strikingly beautiful mother
“Because, your father will get lonely down here,” She answers you, “I don’t want him getting lonely...”
She kisses the side of your head as you let out a frustrated sigh.
“When will he let me up there?” You ask her, looking up to the entrance of the underworld, Nyx coming through on his ferry boat
“When he deems you are ready Achlys,” Persephone kisses the side of your head once more
You watch your mother begin taking the stairs up to the surface world.
I wish I could go up there... I want to go explore...
After the dead count, you go to your father’s castle to join him.
“Hello father,” you greet him, walking into the throne room
Unlike your cousin; Cordelia, you didn’t have a strained relationship with your father. Yeah, it wasn’t easy being daughter to the king of the underworld but, you loved him.
“Hello deary,” He slightly smiles, “You look down... What’s going on in that mind of yours?”
“Do you know how you allow mother to go up there every spring?” You recall how he told the story of how Hades found the love of his life
“Achlys,” Hades sighs, standing from his throne
“Father, I know we’ve talked about this,” You continue to try to talk to him, following behind him as he continues to walk further into the estate
"Achlys Blakely!" Hades raises his voice
His raised voice prompts you to stop speaking. You stood in front of him; stiff as a board.
“You don’t belong up there,” He says
Your body eases as your head begins slumping to the ground. You turn your heel and begin walking to your bedroom to lounge about.
“Do you think I was too hard on her?...” Hades turns to Pain and Panic
“I believe you’re only protecting your only daughter,” Pain inputs his opinion
“What he said!” Panic agrees
“We can only raise them for so long...” Hades states, “It’ll only be so long before they want to explore beyond home.”
You sit on your bed, reading a book, music plugged into your ears as you waste the remaining day away.
“Achlys?” Hades knocks on your doorframe
You unplug your music and look up.
“Dad?” You call out to him, “What is it now?”
“Listen kiddo,” He sighs, coming to sit at the edge of your bed, “I know what I said earlier... And... I’m sorry... I know I can’t keep you here forever.”
“Dad... What are you saying?” You ask him
“You may go up to the living world,” He reluctantly smiles
“You’re being serious?” You ask
He nods. You immediately break into a smile as you jump onto him, giving him a hug. Once you pull away however, you pull away from his embrace and see his somber expression.
“Aren’t you going to give me some kind of curfew?” You ask him, at first as a joke
“I would only want you back here before the sun rises up there, got it?” He asks
“Got it.” You say
“You... Can go up there now if you want,” He says
Your face contorts into a ridiculous smile as you leap out of bed and begin running out of the estate and up the nearest staircase.
Don’t know where it’ll lead me.. But who cares?!
You rushed through the other end of the stairs. When you emerge, you look around and see a giant castle.
Did... Did I go back in time? No... That’s physically impossible...
You climb out of the stairwell you had just emerged from and begin making your way towards the castle, there, you began climbing the walls. There was a slight breeze, but it wasn’t freezing outside. You knew how to scale a castle when you saw one that was deemed climbable. You reach a balcony and your eyes widen. You see a beautiful brunette, sitting at her vanity. She was wearing a sheer nightgown; showing an obvious yellow lace pattern lingerie set underneath. You adjust yourself so that your arms aren’t the ones holding you up.
I’m not built for this...
You manage to secretly find a way onto the balcony floor without getting detected by the brunette. From where you were standing, you had gotten a better view of her facial features. She had ember eyes, her skin was pale. Paler than yours. She was wearing a choker with a gem that matched the color of her lingerie. You were so enticed by the brunette you didn’t even realize she was staring right at you through the mirror until you saw her stand up. You were frozen.
Oh shit... Shit shit shit...
However, the other woman’s demeanor didn’t scare you. You felt... Further drawn to the woman. That was when you finally gained feeling back into your legs and you consciously found yourself falling over the edge of the balcony. However, instead of making contact with the ground, you found yourself falling through a ‘rabbit hole’. you hit something comfy.
“You’re not dying that early kiddo,” Hades jokes
“Dad!” You say in astonishment, “Were you the one that opened up that hold when I fell through?”
He nods, “You would have died if I didn’t open a portal back to home.”
“True...” You sigh, scratching the back of your head
“So... What did you find up there kiddo?” He asks
“Dad.. It was an interesting time...” You say, your memories recalling the mental photos of the brunette you watched through the window, “There was this castle...”
“Tell me more,” He says, truly invested in your short time in the world above
“There was this... Woman I simply laid my eyes upon.. It was like love at first sight for me..” You say, slightly smiling
“Ohhh I see how it is,” Hades teases you, “Did you get to talk to her?”
“No because by the time I realized that she saw me I panicked... That’s when I fell,” You say
“Well, there’s tomorrow night,” Hades states, “Rest up kid.”
You had awoken early the following evening to figure out what you should leave for the other woman.
There’s barely anything down here other than black roses...
You rush up towards the world above as you rush around the forest grounds for some kind of small gift to give to the brunette.
“Looking for something in particular?” A male voice asks
You turn to the direction to where the voice was coming from. You see a carriage.
“Who the hell are you?” You ask
“I am but a humble merchant,” He explains, “Now, back to my question: looking for anything in particular?”
“A rose... Well, Red Rose,” You answer him, “Where I live, we don’t have those around..”
“Hmm... Let me see child...” He says
He leans back into his carriage and pulls out a seemingly perfect reserved red rose.
Perfect.
“Oh... I just realized... I have nothing to give..” You sigh
“This is on the house child,” He says, handing it to you, “I could tell when one is in love.”
You give him a warm smile as you turn to the castle walls. You break into a run as you leap and begin climbing the intricate exterior lining of the castle.
“Good luck my child!” the merchant calls from his carriage
You use one of your hands to wave him off as you continue climbing up to the woman’s balcony. With time, you managed to reach her balcony. As silent as you could, you place the rose right at the base of the balcony door. You hop above the balcony door and take a small pebble and toss it against the window. You couldn’t tell what was happening, but you saw the door slowly open.
“Hello?” The woman’s voice calls
Oh.. My... God...
You see her look down and pick up the rose.
“Cassandra!” A woman’s voice calls her
You wish you could see the smile on your face as she walks back into her bedchambers with it. You wait out for a couple of minutes and you see her bedchamber lights go out. You stare up at the moon; illuminating the night. For the first time, you genuinely smile. You leap off of the roof and you smile from ear to ear as you enter back into the world below; right into your bedroom.
“Someone sure is happy,” Your dad smiles as he waits for you on the couch from the other side of the room
“You have no idea,” You smile
It continued. For awhile. You’ve brought a single red rose to Cassandra’s bedchambers via her balcony. You’ve always wanted to meet her face to face. But, you could never gain the courage to do so.
“You’re a little bit of a coward kiddo,” Hades laughs
You punch your father in the shoulder and he slightly winces in pain.
“But, she’s kept the roses,” You say, I see them in a vase on her vanity every night I go visit.”
“Maybe tonight is the night you’ll finally show your face to her,” Hades says, “Do better than me kid...”
“Dad,” You say, “Mother did fall in love with you. It took her time to figure that out.”
“I know,” He sighs, “But, I just don’t want you repeating the mistakes I did...”
“It’ll be okay dad,” You reassure him, “I’ll be okay.”
You make your way to the world above like always. The Duke, you had learned of his name, waiting for you in the same spot like usual.
“Back again I see?” He asks you
“Like clockwork,” You smile
“Shall I provide the usual red rose Achlys?” He asks, pulling out a similar red rose
“Yes sir,” You smile, happily taking the rose from his gentle grasp. You climb the castle wall again
But, you’d finally gain the courage to reveal yourself to Cassandra. You prop yourself on the balcony ledge and your shadow had been casted along the window, making Cassandra notice you immediately. She turns towards the window and stands up. The moon's reflection was from behind you, so she couldn't see your face. She stands and opens the balcony door and begins walking toward you. Once she had gotten close enough, she observes your facial features closely. Her cold fingers trace your cheek as she continues to observe you.
"Hi... Cassandra," You smile, handing her a red rose
Tumblr media
A small look of surprise wipes across her bloodied face as she stares at the rose that was in between your fingers.
"So... It was you leaving roses on my balcony every night?" She smiles, taking the rose
"I was... Not confident enough to reveal my face to you.." You chuckle
“Would you like to come in?” She asks
“I’d like to,” You smile
You hop off of the ledge and follow behind Cassandra as you close the door behind you. You look over to her vanity and notice the same vase you have seen every time you would leave a red rose.
“You’ve kept them I see,” You smile
“I like them,” Cassandra says
“I’m glad you do,” You say, “Can’t find them where I’m from.”
“Where you’re from huh?” Cassandra asks
“Yeah... Down... South,” You lie
I’m not sure how well this girl would take it when I would tell her that I’m a Demigod...
Cassandra doesn’t answer you, instead takes a sharp object and slashes at your arm.
“Ow!” You yelp, “What was that for?!”
Cassandra continues to not answer your questions and looks down at your now bleeding arm.
“You’re like the other two huh?” Cassandra asks
“What.. Other two?” You ask
“Daniela and Bela’s little lovers.. Joan Arc and Cordelia Luna,” She states
Those two?...
“Just... I ooze...” You joke
“Black...” Cassandra says, unenthusiastically
Tumblr media
It suddenly became an awkward silence between the both of you. You never really gotten the social interaction part down growing up.
"Why are you here anyway?" Cassandra asks
"You've caught my eye deary," You flirt
"Oh... Did I now?" She asks, slowly pacing her way towards you
"You did," You clear your throat, backing into a wall
Cassandra picks up your still-bleeding forearm and licks the blood right off of your arm. You let out a light gasp as you watch her gulp down your blood.
“Not bad,” Cassandra states, smiling, wiping blood off of the corner of her lip
You blush as she continues getting closer to you. She smiles as coils her gloved hand around your neck and brings your head down to hers. Despite the dried blood along her face, the kiss was soft.
Her lips are soft.. Even with all of that blood on her face...
You could hear Cassandra’s muffled giggles as you lift her off of the ground. You smile as your forehead remains on hers. From the corner of your eye, you could see the sunrise begin going over the horizon. Your happy expression drops after you make the realization.
“I have to go now Cassandra..” You say, sorrowfully
“But... But why?” Cassandra pouts as she holds onto your arm
“Curfew...” You sigh, “But, I’ll be back the same time tomorrow night. I promise.”
You walk back over to Cassandra and place a gentle kiss onto her cheek as her grip on your arm ceases.
“What’s your name?” Cassandra finally asks
“Achlys... Achlys Blakely,” You smile, hopping over the balcony edge
You had promised Cassandra that you’d visit every night. You continuously lived up to that promise. Your father was ecstatic for you that you finally found someone.
“Dad... Can I have one full day up there?” You ask him out of the blue
“Achlys... I’ve already given you this much freedom to be out every night,” Hades explains, “You agreed to return before sunrise each time.”
“I know but, each time I leave, Cassandra becomes sad,” You say, “I just at least want one full day up there and then I’ll return the next evening.”
“No,” Hades gives his answer, “That’s final. You can continue going to visit your little lover every night, nothing more.”
You slump into your bed as you hear the door open and then close.
One full day shouldn’t hurt...
You meet Cassandra like clockwork. However, instead of greeting her with the usual kiss, you just think about how your dad told you that you couldn’t even have one full day in the world above.
“Achlys?...” Cassandra calls out to you, putting her hand upon your cheek, “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m fine,” You sigh, leaning into her gloved palm
The both of you sit on her bed as the both of you talk, like you always have been the last several nights.
“Your father rules the underworld?” Cassandra asks, “Your mother comes up here every spring to... Well, bring spring?” Cassandra concludes
“That’s right,” You say, “My mother believed my father would be lonely, so... She bore him a daughter... Me...”
“Kind of sucks if you tell me,” Cassandra sighs
“Sister!” a red-head bursts into her room, “Oh, hey Achlys.”
“Hi Daniela,” You slightly smile, giving her a small wave
“Anyway, Cassandra! There’s a man-thing in the building!” She screams in joy
“Hold that thought little twig,” Cassandra leans close to your face, giving you a small kiss
Little Twig...
Was Cassandra’s pet name for you. You basically came from the underworld: it’s full of dead people and dead things. You watch Cassandra dissipates into her fly swarm and round the corner to her door.
“Don’t worry, I’ll protect your girlfriend,” A blonde tells you
“Thanks Bela,” You slightly smile
You wait for an awful long while... You didn’t like it...
Maybe I’ll go explore some of the castle.
So you do. The castle was quiet as hell...
Where is Cassandra and the others?...
You suddenly hear a gunshot. Along with a scream.
That sounded like... Daniela?!
You break into a run as you continue following to where the voices were coming from.
“What kind of bullets are those?!” Bela asks, standing in front of her two sisters
*Cassandra’s POV* She runs to Daniela’s side as she clutches at her side.
“The kind to kill you three and then that 9 foot tall bitch!” The man yells
“Like hell I’ll let that happen!” You scream
“Cassandra!” You yell, scrambling up to your feet
*Achlys’ POV* You ram yourself into the man as he is knocked onto the ground, letting go of the mysterious weapon. The both of you scramble against each other to gain the upper hand to reach for said weapon. However, he gains the upper hand and grabs the weapon back. He aims for..
Instead of trying to get the weapon knocked out of his hands again, you instinctively jump in front of Cassandra and Daniela, taking the bullet for her. You slide across the floor, your black blood smearing across.
“Achlys!!” Cassandra yells, hovering her body over yours, “No no no no no no...”
She tries to wake you up, to no avail. She stands and looks up at the man.
She charges past Bela and Daniela as she begins acting primal... Cassandra growls and continuously tries to slash at the man.
*Cassandra’s POV* “You hurt my lover... You’re going to pay... With your life!” Cassandra growls
“Cassandra! Get a grip!” Bela tries to stop her sister
Cassandra doesn’t listen to her sister and simply pushes her aside. Daniela crawls over to Bela as she tries to help her up.
“Are you okay?! How does your side look sis?” Bela tries to comfort her sister
“I feel like shit,” She groans
Bela and Daniela hear other footsteps as they look up at the staircase: Joan, Cordelia and Alcina come running down the stairs.
“What is the meaning of this?!” Alcina helps Daniela up and immediately begins observing Daniela’s wound
Daniela leans on Joan’s side as Alcina attempts to bandage her wound
“I’m going to end the Dimitrescu bloodline once and for all!” The man yells
“Not if I have anything to do about it!” Cassandra continues to try and fight him off
However, the man easily gains the upper hand on Cassandra and knocks her onto the ground.
“Cassandra!” Alcina screams
Alcina dives in front of her daughter just as the man pulls the trigger. The bullet lodges into Alcina’s shoulder, causing her to let out a dragon-like growl.
“You’ve... Stained my dress!” Alcina growls
“Mother!” Bela and Daniela both yell
They kneel at their mothers’ side.
“All at once, perfect,” The man smiles wickedly
“No!” Joan yells
“Stop!” Cordelia yells
The two Demigods were about to charge when they noticed something on the man; a bright blue outline on his hand, preventing him to pull the trigger on his weapon.
“Like... Hell I’d let you kill them,” You groan
*Achlys’ POV* Everyone turns to look at you. You were still on the ground however, your sole arm was raised, the same color illuminating from your hand.
You struggle to lift yourself onto your two feet. However, when you did, your veins had glowed blue. When you had looked up at them all, your eyes no longer hand their irises and pupils; the bright blue color had filled them. The under part of your hair was on fire, the top part was in a half-up, half-down hairstyle. The bullet wound didn’t seem to phase you in the slightest as you began advancing towards the man.
“What... Achlys?...” Cassandra calls out to you
She noticed a mark on the side of your neck; glowing bright blue.
Tumblr media
“What... What are you kid?!” The man asks
“I am Achlys Blakely,” You announce
There was another voice that harmonized with yours when you spoke.
“You will be punished heavily for simply trespassing on this land,” You continue speaking
“You’re-you’re a freak!” He screams, raising the gun and pulling the trigger more than once
“Achlys!” Cassandra screams
The bullets stop just before they would have reached you.
“What the hell?!” He asks
“Did I forget to mention?” You ask, a wicked smile swiping across your face, “I am the Daughter of Hades.”
The bullets fall onto the ground as your break into a run, your fists bursting into the bright blue flames that matched your veins. You square punch the man in the jaw as the flame grew.
“OW!” He screams, “I see you’ve grown stronger in such a short time...”
You don’t answer him as you continue advancing towards him. This time, you punch him in his gut, making him cough up blood. He attempts to raise the gun towards your face.
Not falling for that trick again...
You grab the barrel of the gun and crush it; rendering it no longer useable. He tries to yank it out of your grip. But, it doesn’t budge.
“Let go!” He yells
So you do. The amount of strength it took him to attempt to yank the heavily damaged gun away from your grip sends him sliding across the floor.
“Ahhh... You say you’re a Demigod yeah?” He asks, staggering to stand on his feet, “Don’t expect me to cower in fear of a kid that has a ruler of the underworld as a father.”
You glide over to him and make him kneel before you. He looks up and notices a crown forming along your forehead.
“The only person you should really fear is my father,” You smirk, “He doesn’t take souls... Too lightly for hurting his kid...”
You place your palm over his face.
“P-please!” He begs, “Please don’t kill me! I’ll do anything! I’ll leave and I won’t come back!”
“And you won’t,” You say
He lets out a scream of agony as you see an outline of his soul descend. The corpse falls back onto the ground with a loud thud. You turn to Cassandra and the others. Cassandra was about to stand and run to you. However, her gut feeling told her not to.
“Achlys?” Cassandra calls out
You wickedly smile at her. But, burst into a run.
“Achlys!” Cassandra yells, jumping out of the way
You let out a wicked, maniacal laugh as you continue advancing your way towards them.
“Achlys calm down!” Cordelia says
Both her and Joan attempt to hold you back in order for you to calm down. However, to no avail. You easily toss them aside as they land with an unpleasant thud.
“Cordelia!” Bela yells
“Joan!” Daniela continues to crawl over to her lover
Alcina stands and makes her way towards her daughter. She wasn’t sure what to do, but protecting her daughters is her priority. You were about to raise your flame emitting fist before you felt the ground below you give way.
“You used your powers... Didn’t you?” Hades asks
“Dad?...” You shake
“You aren’t meant to use that power for personal gain Achlys,” Hades growls
“Dad... I know I wasn’t supposed to but... That man.. He.. He said he was going to kill the entire bloodline of House Dimitrescu... Meaning, he would have killed Cassandra...” You explain
“You know you can’t control it yet,” He says
“I know...” You sigh, finally calming down, “But, they would have died if I didn’t use it...”
“Fine...” Hades sighs, “I’ll let it slide this time. But, you can never go back to the world above...”
“WHAT?!” You ask, your voice raised high, your other form coming back
“They’ve seen you for what you truly look like,” Hades states calmly, “I don’t want anyone looking at you any differently...”
You calm down after hearing the calmness in his voice...
Cassandra wouldn’t see me any different... Right?...
“Can I at least check on Cassandra?” You calmly request, “I need to make sure they’re all okay... I’ll come back after then...”
He gently nods as you give him a slight smile.
*Cassandra’s POV* Cassandra sits on her bed, reading a book. She was deathly worried about you as you were just dragged back to the underworld. She jolts her head up after hearing something knock onto her window. Like the first time the both of you met, Cassandra sees an outline of someone on her balcony ledge. She immediately stands up and runs over to the door, opening it immediately.
*Achlys’ POV* “Hey... Cassandra,” You sigh, leaping onto the floor of her balcony, “You’re... Not hurt... Are you?”
She shakes her head, “Thanks to you, no one was killed today.”
“Daniela?” You ask
“Girl’s resilient, it’ll take a lot more than a simple bullet wound to kill her,” Cassandra says
You sigh in relief.
“You sure I didn’t hurt you right?” You ask, placing your forehead against hers
Cassandra sighs as she puts her hands on your cheeks, “I’m sure you didn’t harm me...”
You smile, but then it drops.
“I have to leave...” You sigh, pulling away from her embrace
“What?!” Cassandra asks, “Why?!”
You were on the ledge once more when she grabbed you by the arm.
“I’m from the underworld Cassandra,” You sigh, “No one would accept me if they saw my true form...”
Your head turns to the outside world, preparing to let gravity take you.
“Me seeing your true form doesn’t change the fact that I love you!” Cassandra exclaims
Your eyes widen. You turn your head back towards Cassandra, who was still holding onto your arm for dear life.
“So please... Stay...” Cassandra begs, “I can’t take another night of being alone..”
You leap back down onto the floor of the balcony and pick her up into your arms. Cassandra lets out a gasp as her eye contact doesn’t break from yours as you carry her back into her bedchambers. You finally break the distance between your faces as you put her back against the bed and you settle yourself between her hips.
“You’re beautiful,” You compliment your lover
When you wake up the following morning, you try to move but a weight kept you from moving. You look down and see a peacefully sleeping Cassandra. You slightly smile to yourself and kiss her forehead. She lets out a small moan as she begins to stir. You were ready to greet her a good morning until you once again felt the ground below you give way.
“Achlys!” Cassandra screams
“Cassandra!” You call back to her
You land on the cold, hardwood floor as you groan in pain. Gaining your bearings, you realize where you were. You immediately turn onto your back and see your dad.
“You completely disregarded our agreement to come back here!” Hades yells
“Dad...” You say, “Cassandra told me herself. Her seeing my true form doesn’t change the fact that she loves me!”
“What if she’ll take it back one day?!” Hades asks you
“She won’t!” You yell, “I could tell when she means what she says!”
“What about the rest of the world?!” He asks
“I don’t care about the whole world!” You say, “I only care what Cassandra and her family think of me!”
“Doesn’t matter,” He says, “You’re to never go back up there again.”
You open your mouth to say something else, but nothing came out. You turn your foot and immediately beeline it to your bedroom. Hades leans back into his throne as he lets out another sigh...
“She’s growing up,” Hades tells himself, “I can’t keep her down here forever...”
Hades knocks on your door and allows himself in. Days turned to weeks since you were dragged back to the underworld... You were sure Cassandra was either deathly worried about you or moved onto some new soul.
“Achlys?..” Hades asks, “Are you okay?..”
You don’t answer him as your back continues to face him. He sighs.
“I only do this to protect you... You know that right?” He asks
He could tell that you answered by your nod. But, you still face away from him. You weren’t sure how to face him after the argument not too long ago.
“You really did find your love up there... Didn’t you?” He asks
You nod.
“It’s obvious. You’re no longer happy down here...” He sighs
You finally gain the energy to turn to him, who was sitting at the edge of your bed.
“What are you saying?” You ask him, sitting up and facing him
“If you’ve truly found your love up there, go,” He says, “I’m only holding you back...”
He turns to you and you engulf him in a tight embrace, slightly crying.
“You weren’t holding me back...” You say, “You’re only trying to protect me...”
I realized that slightly too late...
“But, I am serious...” He says, looking at you, “Go up there...”
Tears fall down your eyes as you feel your dad’s finger wipe away your tears.
“My little black rose,” He smiles
Cassandra paces around her room, trying to figure out how to get you back. However, she wasn’t sure. She knew going down to the underworld would mean she could never come back, but she knew she had to try. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she had heard a familiar sound against her window.
“Achlys?...” Cassandra calls out to you, breathlessly
You leap down from the balcony ledge and smile at her. you make your way to her. As soon as you opened the door, she immediately jumps into your arms, making you fall backwards onto the concrete floor.
“It’s me..” You reply
You tighten the embrace as you bury your face into the crook of Cassandra’s neck.
Persephone makes her return to Hades as she finished with spring.
“Where’s Achlys?...” She asks her husband
“She’s found where she belongs,” He answers, showing his wife a visual of you embracing your lover

Tumblr media
By the time you wake up, he is gone— not that you had known he sat next to you. But when you rose up from your slumber, a coat fell from your shoulders.
His..?
You looked at it and wondered if he had given it to you. It was a thoughtful gesture, and a necessary one as your hands were getting numb. Before wrapping it around your shoulders, you stretch your hands above you. Blinking the drowsiness out of your eyes and sitting up a little further, you yawned and decided to stand up. Your feet hit a softer material that you weren’t expecting, making you look down. The cold floor that was there yesterday was covered by a soft gray rug and you moved your toes to feel it more.
Him and his dark colors.
You rolled your eyes at the color palette of the entire room and thought that maybe the guy hadn’t decorated in a while. It made you think of Yoongi's liking for dark colors even though he was viewed as basically the opposite— the god of love. If you were going to live here for the rest of your life, a thought that made you sigh, might as well change the place a bit. Adding tones of lighter colors would not be so bad, maybe brighten up the room and seem less like a cave and more like a palace. You looked around the room to the lanterns on the wall and decided that you would have to do something about that.
It didn’t even light up the room! What was the point of lights if you can’t even see the floor?
The air seemed less tense than when you entered the palace and you were definitely feeling it. The entire palace was suffocating when you walked inside, cold and sharp as if to hurt you. But now, it seemed different. Maybe not soft or lush like your home— or what was your home in the mortal realm. It was rather empty instead of spikes, a little bit better, but not great either.
You continued to look around the room before your eyes landed on a small nightstand and saw a few warmer clothes. You walked towards it and with one hand, as the other was tightly holding his coat, you felt the material. It was a lot thicker than your chiton and was a dark green, reminiscent of the forest trees back home. Your lips lifted up in a light smile at the thought and decided to change into it. Before removing your current dress, you saw that there was a flower. You didn’t understand how flowers could grow in the Underworld, and when you picked it up and realized it was a silver color, but fake. Not the color of jewelry that you often saw other mortals wearing, but like a coin. It was pretty.
A piece of paper fell on the floor that had been next to the flower. Picking up to read it, you were surprised by the penmanship.
My apologies, Persephone. I have some duties I must attend to in Olympus. This palace is yours as well, ask for anything to the ghosts and they shall bring it.
You grimaced. While it was a thoughtful gesture in any other circumstance, you still were wary of this God. Putting the flower back on the table, you changed. The dress made you feel a lot warmer and the cloak was quickly discarded.
What time was it in the mortal world?
You wondered how time seemed to simultaneously slow down and speed up. Slowly tip-toeing out the room, you closed the door behind you very softly and continued through the hall. The hall seemed a little more lit up but it was still darker than usual. You wondered if you could use your powers to grow a bioluminescent lily, and light up the hallway. But after squeezing your eyes shut to concentrate, holding your palms out, and thinking heavily about life, you could not do it. You couldn’t even produce a regular lily. You didn’t understand.
Where did my powers go? How would I go back home? Was I.. not a goddess anymore?
You took a few deep breaths and reminded yourself, relax, it’s fine. But it seemed far from fine, you would just have to ask Hades when you saw him. You roamed around the hallways, finding winding staircases, huge rooms, empty rooms, rooms that weren’t empty but you wished they were when you saw inside, and all filled with the scent of death. You quickly turned away from those rooms and opted to keep walking.
It seemed that minutes turned into an hour, an hour and a half, then two. You brought your hands together and rubbed them together. The hallway seemed to never end and you wondered where the door was. You just wanted some fresh air, you tried convincing yourself. It’s not like I’m trying to escape..
“Excuse me,” a voice called out. Your eyes widened and you whipped your head back to only see more darkness, and heard it continue, “but who are you?”
“Don’t come closer! I might seem weak but I could knock you out with one punch.” Your voice was a lot steadier than you let on. You were tired of being afraid all the time.
“..I’m sure you can but you didn’t answer my question. I don’t care what type of hero or princess you were as a mortal but you’re dead now. Listen up, I’m in charge here.”
“Mortal?”
“Yes, didn’t your mother ever tell you not to get a God angry?”
“..I’m Kore, the daughter of Demeter. Goddess of the Spring, flora, and fauna. Whoever you are, know this. I am in charge here.”
The hallway suddenly brightened up and you lifted yourself with your head held up high. While the light was too bright for your eyes, you tried not to let it phase you and faced the figure that revealed itself in the light. You glared at the man in front of you, he was wrapped in a black cloth— seriously, what was up with the color scheme here?— and wouldn’t meet your eyes. He quickly glanced at you with a grimace but kept his head down for the remainder of the time as he felt utterly embarrassed. His scythe that was on his back made your eyebrows raise.
“Well?”
“Look, I’m sorry—“
“You better be, and you better tell me quickly why you tried to trick me before I turn you into a cactus.”
“..I’m Thanatos, the God of Death, the one who reaps the souls. I..I come here to report to Hades. I didn’t know his wife was here.”
At the word wife, you twitched. You weren’t just someone’s wife, you were your own goddess. Styx, the gods needed to learn some manners. You stepped up close to him, still with a serious gaze. Grabbing his shoulder, you speak coldly.
“Don’t call me just his wife. I’m more than that.”
“R-right, sorry. Kore.”
“No, not Kore. That is reserved for my mother and the nymphs. Call me, Y/N.”
Thanatos looked at you quizzically. You seemed so calm and usually this was where the other gods would punish him. You gave a small smile before complimenting on his scythe. He had never encountered any god that was so carefree and kind. You looked young, maybe a few eons old, yet your eyes held a soft wise look that could only come with experiences.
You asked curiously, “Did you make it so that these hallways are so dark?”
Thanatos answered quickly and rushed over his words, “Um, yes. I apologize. It’s much brighter because Hades sometimes mirrors the daytime of the mortal world.”
“Hm, so you’re the one who made me lost!”
Thanatos tried to test his luck, he was a God he couldn’t possibly die, right?
“..You’ve been wandering in circles for the last half an hour.”
“..And?”
You scoffed at his continued rudeness but it seemed more playful than last time. It was better than being alone all the time, sure, but you wanted to ask someone who didn’t know what was going on like you. Couldn’t the Fates just help you out here? But truly, you were happy to smile and have a friend.
“It gets kinda lonely here, doesn’t it?”
“..Yes. Hades often works until he collapses.”
“You don’t have to be so formal with me, please let us walk.”
You pondered over Thanatos’s words, did he really work like that? That wasn’t healthy but you wouldn’t fret over it for too long, he could take care of himself. Switching to think about yourself, you realized you didn’t have any contact with Jimin, your mother, or anyone else you knew. It was just you in this huge palace, and the guy in front of you of course.
“Hm, Thanatos?”
“Yes?”
“Is it.. just you here?”
“Well, mortal souls come and go. Some heroes test their luck with Hades but he’s colder than Hera.”
“In that case, mind being my companion until I go home?”
Thanatos didn’t understand your request. Not only had you just asked the personification of death, the son of Nyx, to be your friend, but you proposed it as if you were leaving. No one but himself and Hades left the Underworld. Thanatos was baffled beyond measure and his face showed it completely. You tried not to get frustrated at his obvious confusion and waited patiently.
“Oh, um. Sure.”
“Awesome, now onto more important matters. Why the fuck am I here?”
“W-What? What do you mean? Didn’t Zeus—”
“Namjoon? I haven’t seen that old man in ages!”
Thanatos stuttered, understanding that you were a powerful Goddess was one thing but talking about the King of all Gods so casually was a whole other. “Well, Hades has visited you once, when you were younger. He asked Zeus for your name and Zeus told him that you and your mother would have wanted this union.”
“When I was younger? OH!”
Suddenly you remembered when you had first come down to Earth to live with your mother. She was busy the first few months and had let you wander off (with nymph supervision of course) but as the mischievous child you were, you had run fast away until you hit a river. At the river you distinctly remembered a young man, the same age as you practically, that held out a purple flower. Entranced by the dark petals— usually only bright yellows and oranges were flowers— and by the dashing young man, you had become friends. Rarely speaking about yourselves, you would talk about flowers. Something both of you really liked. Now that Thanatos mentioned it, the black messed up hair seemed to resemble Hades, and his love for dark colors— something that you didn’t quite agree with— was evident too.
“Oh..I see. Well, my mother would never give me off to someone! She’s wonderful and very protective so Joon’s lied to you. But I guess that’s something to settle with Hades himself. Now, what’s something fun we could do around here?”
Thanatos slowly smiled at your enthusiasm, it was like a breath of life into his life. He had lived most of his life in the shadow of his mentor, Hades and although he enjoyed Hades’s company..it was hurting him. Thanatos wanted to be known for his own thing, why didn’t he have altars or temples in the mortal realm? Though that question was probably fruitless since mortals didn’t know what they were doing most of the time.
For the next few days, or weeks— you couldn’t really tell— you spent your time with Thanatos when he was free. He was free almost all of the time, showing many new rooms and how to not get lost through the hallways. He also let you vent about your worries. You worried that your mother must have been saddened without your presence, and maybe even Jimin was missing your short talks. Hopefully the flowers in the meadow had fully bloomed by now. All of these things, and more, kept running through your head and you liked that Thanatos had basically nothing else to do but give you advice. You appreciated his company but you wanted to see the person that brought you here too. Hades— Seokjin you figured out from Thanatos— was apparently extremely busy with human deaths. Maybe there was a new sacrifice that Zeus was putting them through? Or maybe another war? You didn’t really care too much until you realized that Seokjin would have to stay up there, counting and making sure that everyone and everything that died was in place before coming back. That’s supposed to be Thanatos’s job but apparently even he couldn’t round that many people. Strange.
A conversation with Thanatos also raised your frustration.
“So Tan-Tan.”
“No.”
“Tosy?”
“Nope.”
“Tanny?”
“..Can you please just call me Thanatos, Y/N.”
“You call me Y/N! Come on, let me give you a nickname.”
“Y/N is the name you chose. That’s different and no.”
“You’re literally so boring. Anyways, when’s Hades coming back? I’m getting tired of your face.”
“I am literally not boring! I’m Death, how can I be boring? aND MY FACE IS PRETTY WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!”
“You talk like— never mind. Ignoring your pretty obvious questions, I asked, why is Seokjin taking so long?”
Thanatos paused, Zeus had warned the minor god that if he told Y/N what was happening in the world above, he’d be cursed. Being cursed as a God was the farthest from good.
“Mortals..have been in a war recently.”
“Oh, whatever for? They have food, warm weather, sunshine, and plentiful water. There shouldn’t be anything missing…Right?”
Good thing that he would be able to escape your line of questions by just disappearing in a fit of smoke. You glared at Thanatos and when you started seeing smoke forming. You lifted your hand to stop him but it passed through the air like nothing was there.
Stupid Thanatos, thinking he can trick me. I’ll figure out what’s happening up there!
You tried to be determined but you were scared too.
You reached for the front door of the palace, somehow making itself very easy to find, and you pulled on the handle. It didn’t budge. You pulled harder, it stayed the same. Realizing that you were still stuck here, you tried punching the door. But that only left you with a hurt pride and a bruised knuckle. Groaning loudly, you dragged your feet back to your bedroom and decided to take a nap.
Better than waiting for him to come back.
By the time you woke up, an empty gold plate was left on your nightstand. You rubbed the drowsiness out of your eyes and reached for it. Ghost servants usually came to give you your meals this way. An empty plate where you can think about what you want and it’ll appear. It was pretty nice but you were getting more tired about the fact that no one would eat with you.
You finished your lunch? Dinner? You didn’t know and didn’t bother figuring out. A few days ago, Thanatos had shown you a library and you had been encouraged to use it. You had picked out a few books and was still reading it. (F/G) was by far the best genre and you always liked authors that wrote about it.
While reading on the bed, you decided to move around for a change of scenery. Wandering the hallways alone, you stopped in front of your favorite room. The throne room. Also the room that was “off limits” but you lived here so you didn’t really care.
The warning was for a reason. Hades didn’t think you would be there and so when he first shadow travelled there, he was surprised. Finally, the person that plagued your days and nights had come home. But he didn’t look great.
You had heard his footsteps before seeing his face, thinking it was just Thanatos. You sat on Hades’s throne, as it was the only one there. It looked a lot like a hard brick of marble, and definitely felt like it, but it was a lot softer than you imagined too. Not nearly as soft as the meadows back home. It was cold and smooth, like the freshwater rivers.
Wonderful.
Soft footsteps grabbed your attention from the book and up to the person in front of you. Your feet that were haphazardly thrown over the throne quickly turned around to the front. The book once in your hands dropped to the floor but you didn’t rush forward to meet him.
Hades.
“What happened?” You asked breathlessly, your hands fumbling with each other but your feet didn’t move. Hades’s shirt was soaked with gold and he was limping towards you.
Was this a trick? To make you vulnerable?
He looked at you and you could only comprehend the soft murmur of your name on his lips before he fell forward, his eyes closing shut.
You’re here...Y/N..
Running towards his side, you caught him as he landed on your chest. You felt a blade handle on his back and held back a scream.
Tumblr media
Hades had gone up to Mount Olympus the very next morning after your arrival into the palace. His brother Namjoon had looked at him in confusion, Seokjin never came late to their monthly briefings, opting to come on time and leave as fast as he could, but usually they would take a few weeks to finish. His hair had been tousled through several times and he kept clutching his feather necklace when listening to Namjoon, Hermes, and the other gods and goddesses’s discussion of famine, war, and other things that were troubling mortals.
They only knew this because mortals just loved to blame the gods for not being able to do anything to save them. But, when in peril, their curses turned into prayers and while it annoyed the everliving Styx out of all them, it made sense. Deities that were supposed to be all powerful couldn’t even get rid of a simple plague or bug that was absolutely destroying the population and food? Seemed sketchy.
Namjoon wanted to ask what his brother was thinking about but whenever he looked at the feather dangling from his neck, he shut his mouth. When the Gods were first born to take care of the world, Namjoon had banished Seokjin to the Underworld. Only giving a necklace with a black feather before doing so, saying that his miseries would be fulfilled when the necklace was put on its rightful owner. What authority did he have on his brother’s life if he was the one who made it so horrible?
No, Namjoon would keep his bruised ego to himself and stay silent. He did not get the right to ask him what the matter was— it just seemed wrong and distasteful. So, he turned a blind eye and let Seokjin leave in a rush. Jin always left in a rush, he didn’t like sleeping in Olympus for so long. Namjoon was so preoccupied with his thoughts, that he didn’t notice his brother stopping at the foot of Olympus and meeting her.
Unfortunately for Seokjin, it was only the mother of who he was so concerned about. He wondered if the Fates had just thought it would be funny to pair the quietest god with you. He had heard wonderful stories of you, Kore. The original reason he was so attracted to you. Zeus himself had told him that you were the strongest and kindest Goddess there was, sprinkling in your humor and beauty to try and make you seem more appealing. But Seokjin had met you once, you had mistaken him for a minor god. That was eons ago, you probably didn’t even remember but the way you had walked towards him, with such confidence and power.
God, he really liked you.
He felt bad at the same time, here he was, this lovestruck God, for a Goddess that probably despised him from taking you away from your home. Did the Fates hate you so badly to let Zeus convince him to take you? Jin was about to greet your mother but the slap to his face certainly made him backtrack.
Demeter slapped him and the fury she brought with her made all present in Olympus tremble. She spoke with such power, it was clear where you inherited your confidence.
“Are you happy? Now that you have my daughter all to yourself?”
Jin gently touched his red cheek, confused at the sudden aggression and onslaught of questions.
Didn’t Zeus say that Demeter and you were glad to be offered a proposal from him?
“She’s the only thing that kept me alive, the world spinning, and here you are, not even at her side! You fool! Don’t take my status among the Olympians lightly, I am still powerful and if you cross me I will make you regret it.”
Demeter yelled out in one breath, as if she had been waiting years to say it. Her frustration and anger was evident and the icy tone could easily cut harshly into the heart, “Does it bring you so much joy to have Persephone all to yourself? My most precious possession—?”
“She is not an object.”
Demeter paused, then scoffed at Seokjin’s quiet but confident interjection. She glanced up at him and almost gasped at his eyes which had a purple fire burning in them.
Instinctively taking a step back and crossing her arms around her shoulders, she continued, “..Obviously. But you’re still in the wrong. How dare you take her! I’m her mother, you are nothing.”
The fire in Seokjin’s eyes simmered down but were still clearly there, and he responded with a level tone, “It doesn’t matter who I am or will be to Y/N. You or any other living, dead, or immortal being can not talk about her like that.”
“Stop talking like the hero, you stole her!”
“Stole her? Zeus said—”
“Zeus is a liar. You, of all people, should know this.”
Seokjin fell quiet and his eyes returned to their normal color, he couldn’t bring himself to disagree now that he knew the truth. He had stolen you, and he laughed at himself in his thoughts. Who was he to defend you like this when he treated you the same way?
He was not your husband, whether or not the Fates tied your strings together, whether or not Zeus had assured him that you were happy to be with him. He had witnessed the marriages of his siblings and their respective significant others. The Olympians were famous for their affairs, demigod children, and stupidity. He had promised himself that he wouldn’t end up like that, or force his significant other to love him. No, that would be your decision and your decision only. But the moment you step into the Underworld, there was a rule that applied to everyone except himself and Thanatos. No one could leave.
“..Goodbye Demeter.”
Seokjin kept his head down and vanished with only a black smoke left behind in his wake. Demeter folded her arms and tapped her foot impatiently.
“You’ll regret this, God of Death. Mark my words, she is not yours.”
Tumblr media
Seokjin appeared in the middle of Demeter’s palace, somewhere completely different to where he was aiming. He should work on his powers.
What type of god (a bumbling idiot for sure) couldn’t even control his powers? He wasn’t a few eons on for Styx sake! But he definitely acted like a blushing teenager when around you— again, another thing he sincerely had to work on.
He looked around the white, marble balcony he was standing in. He could feel you. But you weren’t here…right? Where was he? He willed himself to shadow travel again and landed in the middle of a town. If he could still call it that.
It was destroyed.
By war, famine, or a plague, even Seokjin would never know. It was barren, but he heard coughing in a few huts. The crops in the field nearby had dried up and the river that used to flow was only a trickle. He walked through the paths and found a family of two bundled together trying to fight off the cold— cold?
Now that he thought about it, it was freezing. There was frost on the ground. Usually the mortal realm was flourishing in either Spring or Summer but it was neither right now. What was this cold, soul-less feeling? Something was terribly wrong and Seokjin was sure Demeter should have fixed it back to Spring.
Was this her anger?
Seokjin shook his head in confusion. Obviously, Demeter was angry that her only daughter was taken from her. The thought made Hades nauseous, how would he fix this? Better question, shouldn’t Namjoon have said something in the meeting?
Seokjin’s ears burned red when he realized that they probably did. It’s just that he was too preoccupied by the thought of you and your enchanting eyes, and soft lips— oh shit, shit, shit. Trying to snap out of it, Seokjin failed to hear the small footsteps of a child behind him.
Not that it should matter, mortals couldn’t see him. Right? The Fates were probably laughing at him, one of the Big Three yet he was dumber than a skeleton.
“Sir?”
Seokjin whipped his head around so fast that he was sure he heard a crack. But he was more focused and confused on the little child staring up at him in curious wonder. The kid had matted hair and a cloth dress that was barely thick enough to keep her from getting goosebumps on her arms. She was staring up at him but the dagger in her hand radiated power, but not just any power.
Godly power.
It flowed through the dagger into the surrounding air and Seokjin was sure that at this point there was no way this child wasn’t a monster or a god in disguise.
Her eyes suddenly rolled back and turned white. With her mouth open, she started to chant ancient Greek at a speed even Seokjin couldn’t keep up to, but he picked up one phrase.
Περσεφόνη νεκρός, άνοιξη νεκρός.
Everything clicked in his head just as the girl seemed to vanish.
Persephone is dead, Spring is dead.
Seokjin felt an electric shock in the middle of his back, intense heat, and then he doubled over from pain. He hadn’t experienced such scalding and burning feelings ever. His legs collapsed from under him and when he looked at his hand covering his midsection, he saw ichor, the golden blood of all immortal beings, covering his hand. He looked behind him to see the young, mortal girl.
“Demeter.”
The young girl transformed into the goddess in an instant and the dagger in her hand was coated with ichor. Looking at it made him queasy— ironic because he’s the god of the dead and he’s getting nauseous from blood. Poseidon and Zeus would surely laugh at his deplorable state if they ever saw him. But Seokjin was still more concerned about why Demeter had stabbed him.
Demeter may have been angry but not enough to kill— even she had principles. But, nonetheless impressive, he’ll give her that. But the pain was making him see black flecks in his vision— poison perhaps. It made him more worried than he should be.
“You were foolish to think that I would let you get away with this. Truly, is there anything in that head of yours?”
“You— why? I didn’t take her on purpose!”
“LIES, you men are all the same! But, don’t you like my little toy? It’s wonderful, truly. Hephaestus must’ve pitied me, not that I care as he has his own problems with Aphrodite and Ares, but he made a weapon that even a God could get hurt from. Zeus said I had one chance, but judging by the fact he lied to me, I don’t care. Now, this. THIS is for Persephone. DO NOT FORGET IT.”
With that, Demeter stabbed Hades in the same wound and Seokjin yelled out. The tip of the blade sank deeper and Demeter twisted it to make sure the blade touched every part of his wound. She jerked it out only to push it further, making Seokjin choke and roar in agonizing pain. Demeter saw the ichor flowing freely out of the wound and stepped back. She disappeared into the night, leaving Seokjin alone. He had one thought in his mind while the pain took all energy out of him to do anything else.
Y/N
His form was gone with a flash and all that was left of his presence was the pool of ichor on the ground. Even that faded into the ground.

“Styx! Hades, Hades, stay awake!” You screamed while trying to see how to pull out the dagger that was inches deep in his back.
His breathing had slowed down and your hands were frantically trying to keep him up. The bedroom was way too far so you would have to set him down on the floor. Trying to be careful, you made him lean on you and sit on the floor. His head was on your chest and his eyes were closed. There was a bit of gold on his lips and you were getting increasingly worried.
You looked around, “Shit, this is bad. Thanatos! How did this..” You tried not to shuffle Hades around but your arms were weak with worry.
Thanatos immediately appeared in front of you at your request and the scene made him startled. His hands were shaking and he didn’t understand what was happening. The words you were saying were muffled and his eyes were blurred. He could only look at the deep gash and the skin cut around it, a horrible shade of green.
“Thanatos! Pay attention. I need you to stay calm and get me some bandages, okay? Can you do that?” Your voice was shaking but you tried to keep it level.
His head nodded slightly and he instantly disappeared. He’d have to find mortal supplies because there was no reason to keep medical supplies in a palace for a god. Something was very wrong. Gods couldn’t die, right?
“Okay, okay Y/N. You got this, just put pressure on the wound and seal it shut. Okay, how hard could this be?” You reassured yourself in frustration, you were scared beyond belief.
You hesitantly put your hands on the dagger’s handle and when you touched it, a blood curdling scream left Seokjin’s mouth.
His breathing was getting shorter and faster, but he was still awake. You had nurtured a squirrel back to life after it fell down a tree but that was basically all the experience you had with medical equipment. You reasoned that until Thanatos brought back bandages, you wouldn’t be able to securely stitch up his back wound. A thought entered your mind, Why are you helping him?, but you shook it off as soon as you thought about it. It didn’t matter, Hades didn’t deserve to die.
“O-okay Hades, I’m gonna need you to stay calm. Okay? I’m flipping you on to your stomach, just keep talking to me okay?”
“I.. okay. I’ll keep talking..”
“Good, that’s good. You’re doing great.”
“You can call me Jin, you know.”
“Oh alright, Jin. You can call me Y/N, just keep talking.”
You slowly put your hands on his chest, trying to ignore how your left shoulder was numb from his weight, and slowly focused on the dagger in front of you. You could see the wound was ghastly. Green and gold colors mixed, as if it was poisoned. Poison. You hoped you would be able to save him. The ichor had finally clotted on the dagger, but the green foam seemed to keep stopping Jin’s body from regenerating. You remembered when you fell once and got a scratch, it instantly healed.
“Shit, shit, shit. This i-isn’t working. I-I need to—“
Jin frowned, “It’s okay Y/N. Don’t…worry. I’ll be fine.”
“You’re not healing, you are not fine!” You insisted. “I wish I had my powers, then I could do something. Ugh, this is so stupid.”
Jin paused, thinking over your words. “They don’t work here? That’s odd. My palace..should let you have everything.”
You huffed. “Uh-huh, you’re telling me. Look, just…don’t die, alright? We’ve barely met and I’d like to be friends.. again.”
“Did..Thanatos tell you that we were friends?”
“..No, I remembered it on my own obviously. It’s not like it’s been eons since then.”
“Y/N,” Jin’s clammy hand found your open one. “You’re really…something.”
You grimaced when he squeezed your hand from the pain. You were pleasantly surprised with how this conversation was turning out, it didn’t seem too forced. But it was almost like the Fates were tricking you again. Probably laughing at your naivety and hope.
Jin groaned and particularly squeezed your hand tighter, making you yelp in surprise. He apologized softly but even you could see that the poison was seeping through his shirt more and making it lighter somehow— possibly from the golden color of his blood.
You’re losing time, and Jin is not getting better. You really don’t want him to die, and you’re not really sure why either.
What has Jin done for you? He’s taken you away from your home, forced you to live in his palace, and for what? To be his ever loving, loyal, and submissive trophy wife?
Whispers in your mind keep telling you, don’t care! But you can’t. You can’t just leave him here, hurt and poisoned. You won’t.
Maybe that’s your fatal flaw. Helping everyone without actually considering if they deserve it. Maybe your mother was right, you aren’t ready for this world. But it didn’t matter. Jin needed your help, and you were going to help him. Somehow.
Looking down at Jin’s body, he was still breathing but definitely labored. You didn’t know how to help him other than try to put pressure on the wound. Recounting words from a friend, you decided that a certain god might be able to help you.
“Oh Apollo, God of Immeasurable Light, the Healer of Sickness and Diseases. Please, I ask you to heal Hades for he has done no wrong where this poison should have befallen him. Please, listen to my prayer.”
Kore, daughter of Demeter and Goddess of the Spring, flora, and fauna. You ask for too much. What has happened to Hades is of his own doing.
“Who has he hurt? Let him live and I will see to it that they are reimbursed for his sins.”
Oh, Y/N. You do not understand. He has hurt someone that is insatiable. What they want will never be allowed for.
“Who? Who has he hurt? Surely I can convince them?”
You will do it? For his life? What has he done that makes you compelled so? Saving his life is not simple. My powers may not curse you but you will be eternally bound to your duty after he has been healed.
“Do not ask a question that is none of your business. I shall complete your task when he has fully healed. Now, heal him!”
Alright. But do not beg me to undo this.
You didn’t think about what would happen to you. Hoseok was usually kind and the task would not be so heartless. You’re sure he was only being so formal because of pleasantries..right?
As you questioned your intentions, you saw that the green foam was becoming concentrated into a glass-like orb. It was the potent poison that the blade had been coated with. You carefully took it in your hand and stuffed it in one of the pockets of your dress.
Lifting Jin so that his face was facing you, you realized he was unconscious, probably from the pain. His eyebrows furrowed, and lips in a thin line made you think of how much stress he was in. But a more pressing matter plagued your mind.
Who did this to him?
Tumblr media
After asking Thanatos for help, the two of you were able to lift Jin into his bed and let him rest there. The entire time Seokjin couldn’t bear to remove his hand from yours and you could practically see Thanatos’s eyebrows moving up and down in a suggestive manner. That god was basically a man-child at this point.
“So, what do we do?”
“We have to wait, Y/N. There’s not much else we can do.”
“Right, right..He’ll be fine, right? Like nothing will happen to him that bad, right? Maybe I should try praying to Apollo again, yeah—“
Thanatos put a hand on your shoulder to stop your rambling and look up at him. His eyes tried to tell you to stop but you could see the pity in it.
“Y/N. It’ll be okay. You did the right thing by praying to Apollo. You should probably be more worried about yourself and what duty you have to follow than Hades. Hades is the God of the Dead, he’ll be fine.”
Your heart twisted and you could feel your hands becoming clammy. You wondered why you kept feeling so anxious, hoping that it would go away if you walked around or something. You didn’t like the antsy feeling, wanting to get rid of it by all means. The duty Apollo had asked of you didn’t even register when you were praying, you just were too preoccupied with Hades almost dying.
“Right, right..But maybe I should stay here? To make sure he’s okay?”
“..It’s your choice, but don’t let it overtake you. I can’t help both of you if you collapse from exhaustion.”
“Haha, yeah..”
Thanatos disappeared quickly after, saying he had some work to do. Taking a seat, you brushed a piece of hair out of Jin’s face while trying not to disturb him in his sleep. His left hand was still holding onto yours, not letting go anytime soon. Gently trailing over his knuckles in an effort to soothe yourself and hopefully Jin, you started thinking about your stay here.
It was shit. You had been taken from your home, the Fates had told you that you got married to the God of the Underworld, who apparently was one of your oldest friends, you were stuck in a really dark palace, and now your spouse is resting in bed from almost dying. And you’re indebted to Apollo.
Great!
Swarmed with less than kind thoughts about Seokjin and how you managed to get here, you didn’t take notice of him stirring until his hand squeezed yours slightly, “Hey sleepy head..”
He blinked lethargically, raising his right hand to stretch,“..How.. how long was I out?”
“Not long, just a few hours at most. Are you feeling any better? Need anything?”
“No.. Um, why are you helping me?”
You paused, so maybe the thoughts that plagued your mind weren’t just in your head. Not knowing how to answer— because you had been beating yourself about it too— you shrugged your shoulders.
“You don’t deserve to die, no one does. The person who stabbed you.. should watch their back. I’ll personally give them the worst harvest for the rest of their life.”
Jin laughed abruptly but the pain in his chest didn’t subside, making him cough. You lifted him up more and patted him to try to calm him down, which worked for a while. The tips of his mouth were upturned, as if he didn’t just almost die, and his ears were turning red.
“I don’t understand you, Y/N and I don’t think I ever will.”
“No problem but you got to answer me this, what in the everliving Styx happened?”
Jin’s happy expression dropped for a second and you thought it was your imagination but you could feel that the atmosphere had changed quickly.
“..Humans have been starving recently, I was afraid to tell you because you have such a close connection to them.”
“So it’s not a war, like Thanatos told me?”
“…”
You sighed a shaky breath, as this majorly concerned you. Your mother was very strict in making sure everything in Spring was correctly taken care of and nothing was out of place. If it had become so bad where people were starving, well something was wrong. War wasn’t exactly starving people, sure it could lead to less food and things but the real problem here was why everyone kept hesitating to tell why this was happening. Was Zeus mad? Was Apollo mad? Who the fuck was mad to make the mortal world so bad?
“So..you’re not going to tell me who started this?”
Instead of fidgeting with your hands, you fully sat down on the bed. You looked at the bandages on his back and decided to redo them because they had already soaked through. Carefully unwrapping the bandages, you tried not to fluster at how close you had to be to unwrap the from around his body. While rewrapping the cloth and your hands were basically hugging his torso at one point to get them all the way, Jin gently put his hand on yours.
You stopped, suddenly too aware of how you were almost cuddling Jin and how he was soothingly rubbing your hands. You could already feel your face getting hot and you desperately tried to think of anything except his hard chest or his broad shoulder you kept brushing over.
“No..no, I can’t..”
You tried not to let his words have too much of an effect on you, it’s not like he couldn’t have some privacy from you. But this was different, his life was on the line a few hours ago. You hoped you would be able to persuade him later. Right now, you had a bigger responsibility to take care of. You tightened the bandages on his torso, causing him to yell in pain.
“HEY! What was that for?!”
“You’re not.. very nice, you know that?”
The moment you said the words, your entire body sagged and Jin could feel your hands slowly pulling away. But he didn’t want to let go, they were much too comforting, much too soft for him to let go of them. Jin tried to speak but your response cut him from doing so.
“Whatever, just go to sleep Jin!”
Jin heard the crack in your voice and got ashamed of himself for not being able to answer you. He didn’t want his relationship with you to be any more strained and telling you that your mom almost killed him would definitely screw it up. While your hands had stopped and your head was down, Jin slowly turned around so he could face you. You were so preoccupied with what he had said that you didn’t realize he was facing you until he cupped your cheeks.
Your eyes were glistening a little bit, which made Jin’s entire body soften and feel helpless, but you didn’t even know why. This didn’t even happen with your mother yet when Jin was hesitant to say who hurt him, you naturally started to feel sad and uncomfortable. A few tears started to fall down and Jin softened even more, wanting to try and help you or comfort you in some way. He brushed his thumb over your cheek to get rid of the tears and you closed your eyes at the movement.
“Why can’t you just tell me? Weren’t we friends once? I’m not that kid okay! I can handle it, I’m a lot stronger than I look.”
Jin’s heart breaks at your questions and he can’t even explain how the string in his heart starts to feel strained— you feel it in your own too. Taking his hands off your cheeks and holding yours, he swiftly puts a kiss to your forehead before you can even realize. It was soft but it burned into your memory. You could feel his eyes on you but the kiss was quick and yet your cheeks felt like they were on fire from the sweet gesture. If Jimin had done it, you wouldn’t have felt anything but now that Jin did it, you definitely were feeling something.
“I want to, I do! You’re not that kid anymore, you’ve definitely grown up. But, it’s complicated and you really wouldn’t believe me.”
While you were still reeling at the revelation that Jin kissed your forehead, the god in question started feeling immensely proud of how he was making you flustered. It was a much more welcomed look than you in tears, that sight would always hurt him. He smiled lightly at your shocked expression before feeling extremely drowsy from all the events.
“..I see, alright then. Tell me when we’re better friends.”
God, they’re really cute. I wonder if..
Taking another risk, Jin settled his head into your lap and you almost stopped breathing.
Never thought I’d say this but my husband is going to be the death of me.
“It’ll take a while but I will. Eventually.”
Tumblr media
After that day, the two of you kept getting closer to each other. Whether that be when you woke up and saw that he had draped a blanket over you. Or when you found his office room, after a long time trying, and pushed his hair out of his face when you saw him trying to take a nap. You also helped redress his bandages because they seemed to wrinkle more often than usual; believing that Jin had something to do with it, you didn’t bring the question up.
Why would you not want to see your husband shirtless?
He even had another throne built for you beside his own, decorated with lighter colors which had made you laugh as it stood out so much in the dark room. The two of you would eat together in a dining room you didn’t even know existed. There were two big chairs on either side, but the table was so long so you opted to move it closer to him. Seokjin tried to play it off as if he was cool about it but on the inside he was screaming about how sweet the gesture was. At one point you even had the idea of making rings for each other. Seokjin was also the God of Wealth—since jewels are created underground— and so had an advantage, making two gold rings. While you tore a small piece of cloth of your green dress to make two cloth rings. Each of you wore both a gold and a cloth ring, symbolic for the friendship (and later love) you shared.
Once, he even showed you a large library, full of books about, death for sure but many others about adventures, myths, romances, fantasy, and some new ones about (F/G). You spent most of your time going between the bookshelves trying to find something to expand your knowledge on godly powers. For some practice with your own, you had asked Jin to get some seeds or plants down to the palace. But, the moment he did, they were instantly killed and even then, your powers couldn’t revive them.
“This is so useless!” You groaned for the umpteenth time, “How is it that my powers just disappear?”
Jin looked at you and hummed in solidarity, “I’m not sure, I’ll check the library for some books about godly powers and um, maybe Demeter..”
At the mention of your mother, you stiffened but forced yourself to loosen your limbs. You shook your head from the intrusive thoughts and nodded towards Jin, allowing him to lead the way to the library as you thought about what your mother had taught you about your powers.
They are an extension of yourself, Kore. If you’re uncomfortable, it’ll become jagged and out of control.
Jagged and out of control was certainly the emotions and atmosphere you had when you came into Hades’s palace.
You have to control your powers just like you are able to control your emotions.
Your environment is important. Olympus is not a place where your powers can work because Spring does not touch it. Only the mortal realm does.
Maybe the Underworld wouldn’t let you have powers either.
Be careful! When you get upset, those plants can grow thorns rather than flowers.
“Are you alright? You seem..disturbed.”
“Disturbed?” You came back to the present and raised your eyebrow as if the adjective Jin said was the most illogical word, “I’m fine, just a little confused.”
“Fair enough, but I think I know what book you need.”
You looked at the seemingly never ending shelves and rows of bookcases. The books in here defied time; there were section of ‘past’ books which were finished, ‘present’ books which added a new page and words every time the author wrote in real time, and ‘future’ books which had books with blank pages without titles but the date they would be finished was already printed on the cover. It was magnificent, you could find any book and read it as it was being written, and if you cracked the intense magic that protected the books, you could even read the literature that hadn’t even been written yet.
“Which?”
Jin sighed, running his fingers through his hair and taking one look at the library before fixing on you, “It’s in the past section which is good but the title escapes me, probably having something about godly power or an index of their abilities.”
“Who wrote that?”
“Athena, she’s a bit too enthusiastic when it comes to things like this.”
“..Did you just call Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, a nerd?”
“Well-I mean..am I wrong?”
You laughed loudly, echoing across the long walls and between shelves. Your head tipped back and your arms hugged yourself to keep your frame from shaking. Jin’s ears turned red with embarrassment, for he had no idea why you were laughing so much. To be honest, you couldn’t either. It was just so funny that one of the most formal of gods talked so normally, a happy accident truly.
“It’s alright,” You were still giggled a little bit and by this time Jin was chuckling too, “Let’s go find this book. Split up?”
Jin nodded and went to the right part of the ‘past’ section while you headed over to the left. The two of you looked at the titles of each book but none of the key words or phrases in them matched. The search seemed useless.
Seokjin couldn’t find anything in his section, and even after having several ghost servants to help him— Thanatos showed up for a few minutes too— there was nothing to be found. Deciding that working together or at least being in the same company as you would be more beneficial then the current strategy, he headed to you.
You weren’t having any luck either, but hearing footsteps, your mood turned for the better. After spending some time with your husband, you had realized he had a lot of endearing qualities to him. He always took care of you when you were missing home, opting to bring fake flowers, like the silver one from your first day here, that wouldn’t die but would remind you of your home back in the mortal realm. They were delicate all the same, but you liked holding them and imagining yourself back in those fields.
You missed it, a lot. You missed your mother even more.
But you couldn’t deny that Jin’s company wasn’t delightful. He never made you do anything or feel afraid, his presence was calming and when you were together, the string in your hearts felt connected and alive. The two of you were unfortunately way too shy to admit it but, there was definitely some sort of love between you two. The way your heart soared when looking at each other or laughing at the most unfunny jokes. You hadn’t missed the red ears he had when you complimented him and he definitely didn’t miss your stuttering when he called you loving names in front of his servants or the inevitable mortal or “hero” who wanted something from Jin.
Since gods were not permitted to directly help mortals, often blessed or favored mortals called heroes emerged. They were given unimaginable powers and strength to fight off evil monsters or save villages. Once a man endowed with superhuman musical skills came to the two of you, asking for help. His singing moved the ghost servants and the gray horses that were outside the palace. The two of you were no match either.
“Oh God who rules the dark and silent Underworld,” The man sang with his lyre, tears in his eyes, “I beg you to help me. All lovely things at last go down to you. But I seek one who came to you too soon. The bud was plucked before the flower bloomed. I tried to bear my loss. I could not bear it.”
Seokjin knew that Orpheus was seeking out his wife, Eurydice, and the prominent aspects of love in the song tightened the string in his heart. While Orpheus sang for his dead wife’s revival, he glanced at your face and the refusal suddenly got stuck in his throat.
You looked longingly at Orpheus as his song for Eurydice’s freedom made you feel drowsy and heartbroken. Here was a newlywed couple, both full of joy that they could marry the person of their dreams, but then disaster struck. The woman had unfortunately died on their wedding day and here was her husband, traveling fearlessly through the depths of hell to beg for her back— all for love. A few tears escaped your eyes as the desire to resonate with the man was so strong. You wanted to feel as loved as Eurydice did, wanted someone to love you as strong as Orpheus did for her. Did Hades even know what love meant?
Seokjin could feel your pain, the string that connected your hearts often shared those strong emotions. He liked sharing the happy ones, when you were laughing at something he said or smiling brightly because of his cheesy and old fashioned jokes. Not because you didn’t feel loved. It was breaking his heart to know that you wanted to feel this love and despite his own insecurities of being unlovable, he promised himself that he would love you fully. He would love you as much and more than Orpheus loved his wife, and even more than that. Seokjin felt so heartbroken that you didn’t feel loved already and made it his mission to show you just how much he cared.
“My love is too strong. So I beg of you, King of the Dead,” Orpheus was on his knees and looked at only Jin, “Help me so that I may hold my Eurydice!”
Seokjin raised his eyebrows by the blatant disrespect that Orpheus showed by ignoring you completely. You most likely did not notice it but the clear distinction the man had from you and him was a glaring red flag. But Seokjin could also sense that you were too swept up with the song that you would want to see the couple reunited despite the rudeness.
You put your hands on the hand-rests of your throne to lift yourself up when Seokjin put his hand on yours to stop you. Setting yourself back down, you looked in confusion up to him whose eyes did not stray from the man in front of him. Although Orpheus’s story was tragic, he had heard of many before. As the overseer of the Underworld, his heart had to be hard as steel, and so it was— until you of course. You had softened him by doing practically nothing, but the thought of you continued to melt him. Many mortals had approached Hades to beg for loved ones back and all requests were always refused. No doubt, Orpheus' music was sweet and very moving, but the look in your eyes and tears that dropped down your cheeks were much more convincing; anything to see his wife happy.
Seokjin slowly rubbed your knuckles before finally answering Orpheus, “Your music is ever so moving, but you must know that many couples have begged for their lovers before. I have refused all.”
At the statement, you had gasped and swerved your head to your husband trying to comprehend how someone could refuse so many heartbroken lovers. Orpheus is distraught and close to sobbing harder, dropping his lyre to the ground. But ignoring it all, Seokjin gently chuckles at your expression and strokes your cheek.
“However..” Seokjin starts with a twinkle in his eye.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you ask, “However?”
“To my right side is Persephone, Goddess of the Spring, flora, and fauna. She is my equal, my other half, and the love of my life. Her presence moves me to help you more than your music. For that, I shall grant you your wish of seeing Eurydice again.”
There is that familiar blush Seokjin has witnessed almost everyday, that adorns your cheeks again. Your eyes bulged out at his words and you couldn’t help but lean over to his throne and kiss his cheek in appreciation. He snickers lightly but in reality, his heart almost beat out of his chest. He’s as smitten with you as you are with him. A loveless King had turned sweet for his Queen.
But Orpheus does not seem to care for the intimate words between the two of you. For he seems angry, possibly envious of the love you two share, and resentful that his music that could move rocks on every hillside and turn the course of all rivers was nothing compared to what you could do. The loving look you two shared made him more furious that Eurydice was not beside him at the very instant. Unfortunately, having such wonderful musical abilities often followed with instant compliments and help. For that praise to be lacking from the Gods hurt Orpheus’s pride, and would eventually lead to his demise.
Orpheus snatched his lyre from the floor and said, “My music.. did not move you? I am appalled.”
You tilt your head in confusion, still with a smile on your face you turn to face the man. Seokjin looks at you when you ask, “Appalled? What for?”
“How has a whore been able to influence you, my King?”
At the comment, your smile falters and you see Jin’s eyes light up with the purple fire you saw when you met him. But instead of being a warm, welcoming and even comforting flame, it is chaotic, burning, and seething. He doesn’t need to see your face to see the crestfallen look, but instead whirled around to walk towards Orpheus. Jin’s anger was immeasurable and Orpheus was alarmed at how his eyes seem to flicker brighter with every passing moment. Glowering down at the man, the god was Hades, not the Jin you were used to. His eyes flashed and Orpheus saw every moment in his life up to then and what looked like an older version of himself. Only later would he realize that the God of the Dead had shown him his life in only a few flashes to humble him of his worth and his insignificance.
Realizing that the man may be scorched by your husband’s anger alone, you gracefully walked up to them. Your presence eased Orpheus’s mind for a split second before his eyes flickered back to Jin’s, it was obvious that Jin would not back down. Showing disrespect to you would result in nothing less than banishment to the Mourning Fields of unrequited love for the rest of eternity, or even a trip to Tartarus, the deepest abyss known to all deities.
But he really should have paid more attention to the scowl on your lips.
You spoke with a steely, calm tone, but it reeked of annoyance, “Who are you, a trivial, fleeting thought for me, a Goddess? You are nothing. Mind your tongue and consider yourself lucky that I do not turn you into a corn plant right here.”
After summoning Eurydice with a wave of your hand, you continued, “As you ascend, do not look back as she follows you. Like the explicit disrespect you showed me today, I will take Eurydice away from you.You will lead a desolate and lonely life, as your music will never be heard again.”
Without waiting for a response, you sent the two on your way and sat back down on your throne. Jin sat next to you in utter disbelief and awe of how you commanded respect in the room. He would tease you about it later but it truly showed you how the two of you were so interconnected with one another. Many other challengers would come to try their luck with the softened God, but he didn’t accept all of them— only the ones that you also approved of.
“Hey,” Seokjin started and you only just noticed how dangerously close he was to your face, “Is everything okay? You zoned out for a while.”
Coming back to the present, you realized that you were still in the library trying to find a book to help you with your powers. You had opened one that was clearly not what you were looking for, as the title had something related to (F/G) instead of godly powers. Snapping the book abruptly shut, dust swept up into the air and you coughed up a bit. Seokjin leaned away while you put the book back into its rightful place and tried to clear the air.
You sighed, “I haven’t been able to find anything even remotely related to what we were searching for.”
“It’s alright,” Jin said as he placed a hand on your shoulder in comfort, “I haven’t either. Maybe we should look for a book about you specifically.”
“Me? You think I would be in a book?”
“Well, you are the Goddess of Spring.” He chuckled and patted your head, “Pretty sure that’s important, baby.”
“Did you just call me..?”
“Shit, I didn’t know if nicknames were okay. Are they okay? I’m guessing they’re not okay? Are you not okay with them? Can I call you something else? Should I just stick to Y/N? Or Persephone? Wait, what about Kore? Or is that only reserved—”
You stopped his rambling by grabbing his hand and interlocking them. Looking up to gauge his reaction, you were pleasantly surprised to see that his mouth was upturned and he tried to turn away from your gaze.
“It’s perfectly fine, my love.” With your term of endearment, Jin groaned and shook his head, “Now what should we do next?”
“I call you something cute like baby and you call me my love? Are you trying to open up my wounds?”
“I’m sure your heart will stay intact, what you should be more worried about is your lips!”
“..My lips?!”
You giggled at his star struck expression before you realized that you may have come of as too strong. Deep in thought, you caress his hand with your thumb before grabbing the black feather necklace he’s always worn. It takes Seokjin by surprise and he leans towards you, his face only a few inches from touching yours. His eyes flicker to your lips then back to your eyes and your smile slowly relaxes. He subconsciously licks his lips, and you were so close to just capturing them but you think again.
Did he want you as much as you did?
Seokjin could cut the tension with a knife, and he was going crazy not being able to kiss your lips. He internally groaned because his shy side was poking at him to run away and hide in a corner while the confident side of him wanted to do nothing but kiss you.
God he wanted you, he hoped you did too.
“Can I kiss you, Jin?”
“Please do, you’re going to kill me if you don’t.”
“I think I’ll kill you either way, I’m a pretty good kisser.”
His eyes fluttered closed, and then your lips were on his. Unlike you had imagined— because yes, you had been dreaming for this for a while— he tasted like nothing but everything at the same time. Fireworks and bursts of warmth burned in your hearts and the string in your chest seemed to tie with Jin’s. Your arms wrapped around his neck and he gripped your waist, the both of you wanted to get as close as possible. You let go of each other eventually, and could only stare at each other in awe of what you had done. Glancing at his ears, you immediately grinned seeing them completely red and his flushed expression. Not that you were doing any better, the color tint on your lips was smudged and your chest heaved as you tried to catch your breath. It may have been your first kiss but it definitely would not be your last.
You eventually found the book you were looking for in the first place and Jin would help you control your powers until you could blossom flowers and fruits from the dead seeds he brought when he would go back up. It was a team effort and it definitely earned you some kisses whenever you were successful.

Almost six months had passed since your arrival in the Underworld. After Hades was poisoned, he did not show up to the meetings in Olympus, believing that he knew he was not welcome. Nor would he be able to clearly face Demeter, his mother-in-law, and not absolutely go ballistic. The love for his wife had increased one hundred fold since the last time he saw Demeter and any type of insult to how he cared for her daughter would surely set the deadly side of him off.
But many things happened in the mortal realm. Orpheus looked back at his wife just as the two were leaving the Underworld, and he would live in eternal sadness without his other half. The rest of the mortal realm was not faring well either. While the two newlywed Gods were happy, things like famine, drought, and death plagued mortals. Spring had not come, but was replaced with a harsh, cold winter. Diseases and frostbite was common since Demeter had no intention of changing the season until her daughter was back at her side. Since Hades was not the bringer of Death (Thanatos was), his job was maintaining a record of who died, was alive, and where they would spend their rest of their lives in.
The Fields of Punishment for eternal torture or The Fields of Elysium for rebirth?
The paperwork was clogging up as Hades had renounced his duty and was so lost in his love for his wife, that he only tended to his wife’s needs and taught their three-headed dog Cerberus how to fetch a bone of some unfortunate skeleton than anything else. At one point, your Seokjin had even gifted you a garden full of pomegranate trees, the only real plant that could successfully grow in the Underworld, to you as a sign of his love for you. You were overjoyed by the garden but he had warned you about something, but it all fell on deaf ears.
“You’re kidding..Jin!” You gasped, twirling around and noticing all the blossoming flowers and the vibrant colored plants in your garden.
“It’s for you,” Seokjin looked at you lovingly, seeing you so happy and bright made his heart and face glow too, “An entire garden of pomegranates for you. But be careful alright? They have powers that can make you stay here. So don’t eat them or then—”
“Mhmm.”
“You’ll stay here for that many months and I doubt that your mother—”
“Yeah, yeah, enough talk! Oooh, that one looks pretty.”
Seokjin’s face softened at your giddy expression and he couldn’t help but admire you from afar. But as he realized what your true intentions with the fruit were, he became worried.
“Y/N, wait! Don’t—”
Before Seokjin could finish his sentence, there you were, grabbing a pomegranate that split open with a gentle, magical prod by your finger. You took twelve seeds and threw them into your mouth with a smile on your face. Looking towards Seokjin, or at least where he was last, you saw that his eyes flamed with purple. He looked terrified.
Before you could even bite one of them, Jin was kissing you feverishly. His lips molded against yours and before you could blink, the gentle but insistent press of his hand on your waist made you part your mouth. He slipped his tongue past your own lips and while you were too distracted by the passion behind his actions, he had another thing to worry about. Finally when you parted, both of your lips were stained red with pomegranate juice and were breathing heavily.
Still reeling and drunk on his lips, you only barely noticed his frown and furrowed eyebrows. Jin licked his lips and you blinked slowly before wondering what he could possibly be thinking about. On your end, you definitely enjoyed that heated makeout session, and you were pretty sure his urgency was a good sign.
“Fuck, only got six seeds out,” Jin cursed, before looking at your satisfied expression, “You still ate the other six!”
“Uh, what?” You said lethargically, holding on to Jin’s arms to balance yourself.
“I tried to warn you that pomegranate seeds are dangerous, Y/N! If you had eaten all twelve of the seeds, you would have stayed in the Underworld for all twelve of the months in the year.”
Jin cupped your cheek and sighed, “I tried to kiss you to take them out but I only ate six so you still ate the other six. Now you’ll have to stay with me for half the year.”
“What? That doesn’t sound bad at all! I’m not regretting that kiss because, wow Jin you really know how to kiss someone, but I feel like I should have eaten all of them. What’s so wrong with being bound to you for all eternity?”
Everything, Jin wanted to say. But he could not get his lips to move for the breathless expression you had was too alluring. He stroked your cheek and wished that he could stay by your side but he knew that would not be good. While his ghost servants, Thanatos, and surely all the other Gods in Olympus believed that Seokjin had completely forgotten about his duties, he had not. He was too swept up with the thought of you to do anything about it but he knew that the mortal world was failing.
“It might be safer.”
“Bullshit! I would be much safer, here, with you.”
“I’m the God of the Dead, I doubt your mother wants a son-in-law like me.”
“And? She’s not married to you.”
“My kingdom, it stinks of death. You’ve lived all your life with the beauty of life, are you sure?”
“More than sure, my King. This kingdom is also mine.” You smirked, putting your hands on your hips, waiting for the next thing you would defend.
“The deaths that our love has caused? I’m sure Thanatos has slipped that by now.”
“He has! But what happens to mortals is not our fault, that’s someone else’s fault.”
He knew that. But he also knew that while he was in that poisoned, dying state, you had prayed to Apollo for help. Jin cursed himself for not being stronger so that you would not be indebted to the Hoseok, but he could not change the past. In his own time, Jin had asked Apollo for what you would have to do, and the answer made him scared beyond belief.
“She must go back home, that is her duty.”
“Home? Hoseok..”
“You and I both know that Demeter is mourning for Persephone. Without her daughter, she has put an eternal blanket of winter on the mortal lands. Even Hestia’s hearth in Olympus flickers away at times.”
“She won’t leave, Y/N will be suspicious of my intentions. She’s not some dumb deity that is oblivious to everything around her, she will ask why I am making her do this. I cannot do this.”
“Then lie to her. Tell Persephone that Demeter asks for her or that the mortal world is falling. Or better yet, betray her—”
“I cannot— no, I..I can’t.”
“Please, for the sake of Demeter and the sake of all mortals, force her back. If you must trick her into thinking you don’t..care for her— do it. Even Namjoon has tried convincing Demeter, she won’t budge.”
It was heartbreaking for him to know that Seokjin would have to hurt you like that. But he couldn’t allow himself to go against your duty and responsibility as the bringer of Spring and life. Your mother would not budge without seeing you, it was stated by the Fates too. Maybe if he betrayed you, then you would be safer and wouldn’t be with such a wretched god like himself.
Who was he kidding?
The God of the Dead with the Goddess of Life? It seemed like a cruel joke, especially because of how much he adored you.
Not wanting to worry you, Seokjin kissed your forehead and smiled as best he could. He realized that this might be the last time he could be honest with you, and so took off his black feather necklace and placed it on your neck. You grinned and pecked him on the lips.
“Maybe you’re right, Y/N.”

The Underworld had only one connection to the living world and that was by a boat ride on the River Styx with the reaper of souls. Unless you could play music, then you might be able to charm your way through like Orpheus, but even that was unlikely. In that sense, there are a few ways to get to the underworld but for a normal person, it was impossible.
But you were far from normal.
You were the Queen of the Underworld, Persephone or Y/N, alongside your king, Hades or Seokjin. It was nice having a title to yourself and not Kore, which was just ‘maiden’. It was yours and you loved it.
You couldn’t feel the sunshine on your face, the dewy breeze of a spring morning, the crisp droplets from a rainy night, nor anything else that you usually felt. Only the emptiness from the souls that were reaped, dying to be put back into the world above. But even that beautiful to you, the beauty of death often allured you. The dead stayed dead but even some of them were happy to leave their suffering above.
You wondered why your Jin had taken you for a walk around his palace, he hadn’t spoken a word to you the entire time either. Thinking it was just him being a little distant, you didn’t find anything weird. Seokjin wasn’t the most extroverted so instead of getting caught up with what his silence may have meant, you instead thought about the events that had happened in the last few months. Things had moved so fast, almost as if to compensate for your still life with your mother.
Originally, you had felt that she had done nothing but kept you inside like a prisoner but now you could clearly see why. The way Jin treated you was the biggest indication but you’ve realized your self-worth. You matter to both the mortal world and the Underworld, you’re a powerful Goddess, and you feel lucky that your first love was such a sweet, kind man. Mom wasn’t trying to force you into solitude, but she never trusted any of the Gods in Olympus and that’s why you didn’t even live up there anymore. It wasn’t like she forced you to stay home but the restrictions and ‘protection’ she gave was stifling.
You missed her so much. You missed the sunshine and you missed picking flowers and making flower crowns. You missed feeling the grass underneath your feet and how the Spring would hug your body.
You closed your eyes while taking a large breath in before opening them and smiling, anyone looking at you would have wondered in curiosity or more so horror. Who would smile in the Underworld?
You.
You would, for multiple reasons but mostly because it was more of a home that any place you had lived before. You looked at your bare feet and the black rocks beneath it. They were sharp unlike the grass above, but there was no pain due to the increase in your powers. Having always walked through fields and meadows, you were used to walking without any protection on your feet— though scorned and scolded by your mother.
“Jin, where are you taking me?” You asked at last, giggling a little but your patience running thin.
Seokjin did not answer nor did he move his head in your direction. He kept walking with longer strides, heading to the River Lethe. You had hated that river, a river to make those who touched it forget their memory. You had always expressed your disgust with the concept but Jin usually just laughed at the thought.
“You are the Queen of the Underworld, love.” He said, with a slight smirk on his face.
Jin cradled your chin and looked into your (E/C) eyes with a softness the other gods would’ve laughed and mocked. The god of the Underworld, your Hades, was happy and smiling with such adoration at your face that your cheeks started to heat up. You were a goddess but that didn’t prevent your heart from twisting when he said such sweet words.
He closed his eyes and touched your foreheads together, saying, “You shouldn’t be afraid of it, not when it’s yours.”
You smiled, closing your eyes and reaching out to hold his face in your hands. You weren’t afraid. As long as Jin was there with you.
You remembered the moments that you shared, when you’d be paranoid about your identity and your husband would reassure you that you did have a place in his— our world— he would say. That you were in the right place. A lot of things had happened in the past six months. But none of that could have prepared you for your husband’s next words.
“..You need to leave.”
“What? Seokjin, this isn’t the time to make jokes.”
“I’m serious, leave.”
Your heart pounded in your chest, you felt dizzy, as if the entire world was spinning. You couldn’t breathe for a moment, and then you took a shaky breath in before shaking your head in dismay, smiling to try and fight the large tears in your eyes.
But he continued, “This..isn’t right, your mother was right. We can’t be together.”
Your mother had warned you to not fall for such a man. Yet you had, for a man that you believed loved you back— no he loved you. A few tears rolled down your cheeks and you hurried to brush them away. You walked slowly towards your husband, your bare feet scraping against the dark rocks and your fern green dress trailed behind you.
You held out your hands in a comforting manner, trying to hold your beloved in your arms. In an instant, he shoved them away with his hand, his knuckles scraping against your arms. You winced but held your ground. “What are you saying? My mother was..right? Right about what?”
Jin’s resolve could have broken right there, but he stayed true to what he was told to do. He had to do this quick, or the tears in his eyes would fall and there would be no way to send you away. It hurt every fibre in his body to know that you were hurting because of him.
You looked up to try and find some sort of sign in Jin’s eyes, only to be met with dark purple ones— the very same that burned Orpheus only a few months ago. They looked empty yet were surrounded by that fire you hated.
“She told me this would never work out. And then poisoned me.”
You shook your head again, chuckling softly to yourself, trying to convince that this wasn’t true. You tried to speak confidently, but your voice started to shake after seeing his entire form move away from you.
“Do you truly think I’m so stupid to believe that lie? My mother may be overprotective of me and may have said this wouldn’t work out, but that doesn’t mean you should listen to her! And she would never hurt a God.”
At your words, Seokjin gets uncharacteristically angry at you, “She almost killed me and you defend her? Before me? When I have protected you—”
“Protected me from what?! Orpheus?! I am a Goddess, I do not need your protection!”
“You don’t need my protection?! Then leave! Stay with that mother of yours, even though we both know I’ve shown you more care than she ever will.”
He stated, turning his back to you and chucking the gold ring into the River Lethe. His ashy gray coat that covered his shoulders fell to the ground, at the feet of his dark robes. He didn’t even flinch, a tell-tale sign of him teasing or lying to you.
He wanted to forget you.
“Please,” You reasoned, “don’t send me away for such a stupid argument.”
“You’re right, I won’t be. You’ll leave on your own because you don’t belong here.”
Only then did you break into full sobs, you fell to the ground, clutching your heart in pain. This wet anger made you curse the Fates. Why did you have to be so weak in front of him?
You couldn’t believe it, the one man you had ever loved, threw you away. As if all the kind words, light kisses, and soft touches were worthless. He had lavished you with affection, even in front of disapproving others. From the day he unknowingly rescued you from a hell to now, he had always looked at you like you were his world.
You hadn’t said a word the night you had left with him, too much in shock with your future. But you couldn’t bare to let yourself ask him to take you back.
Anywhere was better than up there.
You had foolishly thought. And during that time you stayed with him. Fell in love. Thinking you would finally get a happy ending, one where the love of your life loved you back.
“Goodbye,” He stated, without looking back at you. All you could see was his tall figure in front of you before you disappeared. He was standing in front of your home. Or what you thought was. But home is where the heart is.
And yours was shattered.
He snapped his fingers and you were gone in a puff of dark black smoke. The feather on the black necklace that he once wore so diligently close to his chest, vanished with you. There was silence in his world for a few moments, after long months of happiness and joy. The flames in his eyes faded, for how could he be angry?
He had just screamed at the one he loved most.
“..Y/N.”
You didn’t see the tears that fell from his eyes without stopping, wetting his cheeks and the ground in front of him. You didn’t see how his shoulders shook with the thought of your absence. You didn’t see him scramble from his hunched position to the River Lethe. You didn’t see him dive in to try and find his ring and realize that it vanished. His legs started to burn from the river’s powers but he stayed in it, thinking that this was nothing to what he deserved. The green cloth ring that you had once put for him, kissing his hand and saying your vows with a happy voice, was still on his finger.
“I’ll stay with you, Seokjin, as long as you want me to. For you are my friend, my companion, and my truest love. I trust you.”
You didn’t see how broken he was when he came back to the palace only to collapse in front of your shared bed and scream until his throat went dry. You didn’t see that his heart was shattered too.

It wasn’t long until you made it back to the meadow, a small walk away from your mother’s palace in the mortal realm. It was dark, and you felt no sun on you. It was a different type of dark, rather than being ominous and mysterious, it held a type of serenity you weren’t ready for. But looking around, you felt empty.
The meadow was covered with some sort of cold, white fluff (snow, you would later find out) that pinched your toes. The once vibrant meadow, filled with plants of different colors and sizes, no longer welcomed you. The soft grass between your toes was now frozen ground and had grown into a long grass that reached your chest.
The world around you was imprisoned in a deafening silence, nothing was awake, nothing sang. The nightingales and woodpeckers were silent, there was nothing. It felt like the world above had stopped living the moment you left. Gashing winds had stripped the once bright green leaves from the trees, leaving them vulnerable and groaning from the cold.
You had never seen such coldness, felt such coldness.
Where am I?
The dark green dress you wore held up well, while the Underworld did not have as the biting cold as you experienced now, it was too similar for you to believe that you had really left there.
The stars twinkled sadly, as if crying out for someone. The moon waned brilliantly and yet everything felt dull. While this world seemed beautiful when you first entered, even though goosebumps had erupted on your limbs, it felt colder than you think it should have. The loneliness you felt was something you had never felt before, nor did you want to. The trees moved as if mourning and you felt like it was your death they were mourning.
Was this why people were dying..?
“..Kore?”
You turned around. Squinting to see the far-away figure, you realized it was your mother with her (H/C) hair in long locks, tumbling down her back— an unusual sight as she hated keeping her hair down— but she was hesitant to come to your side. She was looking at you differently, like she used to when you were a child. Not like how she pretended to when you got older but different. Better.
Like a mother should.
“Mom..” You whispered, but she heard it.
A flowing stream of tears started down Demeter’s face, and she made no move to wipe them away. Demeter held a hand out to her daughter, silently calling out to her. You slowly walked through the field to your mother’s side until finally putting her chin on her mother’s outstretched arm. As you saw your mother’s happy expression, you started to shakily smile and a few of her own tears started to drip down your cheek. Demeter stroked her daughter’s cheek and kissed your forehead in joy.
The mother and daughter were finally reunited.
Tumblr media
Quickly after you reunited with your mother, she interlocked your hand and led you back to the palace. Your home. But even saying that had a sour taste in your mouth, because all you could remember was the dark walls and soft smiles of your husband. The walls of your room were just as blindingly white and clean and smooth as you remembered it. But, you remembered what you used to think in the Underworld. As much as you had loved it and the people who came with it, it wasn’t what you were used to. You loved the mortal realm much, much more, and finally seeing the lush vegetation wherever you walked, the pretty flowers sprinkled here and there, the ponds of clear water, and the countless species of animals was both a shock and a blessing.
A few days after you arrived, the winter and snow that had swept through the mortal realm was finally vanquished. Your mother held your hand and simply waved her hand, causing Spring to come back to the world. She was glowing, much more than before you left. You wanted to both strangle her and hug her.
You even asked her about the poisoned dagger and she confirmed what he had said, she did poison him. It made your stomach squeeze and feeling uncharacteristically angry and snappy, you conveyed your concerns to your mother, but she didn’t brush it off like you had feared.
“Mom, I won’t get mad if you tell me the truth.” You sighed out one night.
Demeter raised her eyebrows and laughed merrily, “Oh? This is new Kore, usually I would say that when you were younger!”
Your throat was feeling dry and scratchy but you pressed, “Heh, right, um. Did you.. poison him?”
“Don’t speak of that monster! I—”
“Whether you did or not, please answer me.”
Demeter looked at her only daughter. Her wonderfully talented, intelligent, witty, and beautiful daughter. She couldn’t imagine the emotional manipulation that she went through in the Underworld. Demeter wanted her daughter back and she was afraid of how you changed. That time when you were gone was over.
“Please, Mom.”
Your eyes pleaded and shined in the moonlight and even Demeter couldn’t hold back, “I didn’t have a choice. Even Zeus approved of it, but you have to realize that you were gone.” She poked your chest with your finger and you felt small, like a mouse in the presence of a hawk.
“I didn’t even know where you were and to learn that, the God of the Underworld had taken you..It wasn’t okay and I’m glad that you’re back. That’s all that matters now, don’t worry about it, okay? You’re safe.”
Demeter combed through your hair and smiled at you but her eyes didn’t crinkle up like usual and you knew that she wanted this conversation to be over. But you’d test her limits.
You continued, “But it could’ve killed him, Mom.”
“And?!”
Demeter didn’t miss the flinch at the raise of her tone and she instantly regretted her actions. She didn’t want to be like her siblings, loveless of their children and so enraptured by mortals. But at the same time, she wanted to protect you. Why couldn’t you see that she didn’t want someone like the God of the Dead, an emotional manipulator and kidnapper, to be any of your concern. It tore her heart in two.
“You are the most important part in my life, I used to only live for you. Obviously, that doesn’t mean your life should revolve around me but you were kidnapped!”
“It was Namjoon’s fault though, he told him that we wanted this.”
“You’re right, Zeus is just as punishable for this crime. But if he wanted your hand so much he could have easily come to us formally. Where was the need to capture you like that? None.”
But that wasn’t it either. Sure, you were upset that Seokjin had taken you away. Sure, that seemed logical from your mother’s perspective, realistic. But that’s not what happened. Namjoon was a drunk idiot and had told Seokjin a lie which caused all of this. But even with that figured out, you were still angry that you didn’t see the color black more often or you didn’t have a library full of books to read, or someone that would keep your head in their lap as you slept.
You missed him the most, and that’s why it hurt the most.
No, you repeat to yourself, You aren’t going to be caught down by someone you’ve only known for a few months. You’re better than this, Y/N.
So you busy yourself with other things that need your attention, like the new plants that are popping up in villages. It helps with the loneliness that seems to have taken you captive, even though your mother smothers you with affection. She wanted to celebrate the way you’ve finally come back to her, from that monster.
The new plants seem to have medicinal properties and you keep record of them in a small journal. In the same journal, you’ve been writing down your feelings as a way to cope with the environment changes. You’ve been liking the cool shade and swift breezes that come rather than the blinding sun that you were so used to. You often nestle between a few apricot trees, and would stare blankly at the fruit. It was so close to pomegranates but entirely different. The red color hurt and even the nymphs could see it, often asking you to pluck flowers with them far, far away.
Jimin visits you and the two of you spend an entire day in each other’s company. He talks about how he wasn’t able to visit you in the Underworld and missed you. You find comfort in his words and you confess that you miss Seokjin. Terribly. He’s the only person you have that won’t go to your mother and snitch on you.
“It hurts, Jimin. But I am afraid that you.. will not like what I have to say.”
“What does, Y/N? Don’t be afraid.”
“My heart..it misses him so much.”
Jimin had furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, he couldn’t understand why you would miss such a horrible God. He tried to comfort you about the matter, but it was stiff and rehearsed. When you had cried yourself to sleep that night, Jimin had quietly snuck out of your door only to see Demeter wiping her tears. Your mother had heard your pleas and she broke.
Why did you have to love such a disgusting monster?
Six months have passed and the world has been recovering. You don’t forget the black feather necklace on your neck and almost daily, you rub it to make sure it’s still with you. Your mother had asked what it was and Jimin had saved you before you could stutter out a response, saying he gifted it as nostalgia for being nicknamed pretty bird. Even the rings you had were considered a gift from other gods.
Demeter had looked at you in fear but hid her emotions well enough with a smile that you thought she wouldn’t ask again. She didn’t.
Tumblr media
Seokjin couldn’t bear it anymore. Ever since you had left, his heart was heavy with the fact that he had pushed you away. Not even telling you anything and you just had to go.
Thanatos could see that his friend was drowning himself in his work, checking and double checking who were coming into the Underworld. Even Cerberus was ignoring Hades in fear of making him angrier. The dead souls rarely would see their king and while that usually did not worry many, those in Elysium were confused. Sometimes the two of you would visit their houses and get togethers, and even then they could make out his lovestruck expression whenever you talked. He looked at you like you were the moon, made of wonder and beauty, and had painted the stars in his world with small kisses.
Thanatos has gotten angry at Seokjin and forced him out of the palace, locking his office to be extra sure. Walking around aimlessly, everything in the palace reminded him of you. When you would walk next to him and talk about the most useless topics, it was the first time he noticed the sharp rocks on the floor. Instead of creating shoes or anything that a logical  God would’ve done, he offered to let you get on his back while you walked. At your shocked expression, he was sure he embarrassed himself more than he thought was possible. But you quickly grinned and jumped onto his back while he held on tight to your legs to keep you steady.
At the memory, Seokjin smiled bitterly and scoffed at the tears that escaped. He wished he was stronger. You were probably going through something a hundred times worse, the love of your life just randomly banishing you must have hurt.
It was to protect her.
Either way, it made him curse out the Fates for even allowing him to meet you once. It wasn’t fair, for either of you. He even cursed his brother Namjoon, he would never listen to his brother again. It wasn’t fair.
The pomegranate trees in front of him made him stop. He wanted to break down in tears and throw his life away for what he had done to you. The brightest red fruit was on the lowest branch, but it was open. With twelve seeds missing, Seokjin shook with fear.
Six months was almost up.
Tumblr media
You walked through the meadow, somehow leaving the safety of the nymphs that followed you on Demeter’s request, and brushing through the flowers. You twirled around, feeling free for once. Not in a palace, under someone’s watchful eye or endearing gaze. You loved both of them dearly, but it was hard for Kore, the Goddess of flora, and fauna to be expected to stay in the same place. You felt lost everywhere but here, with nature, was where you felt at peace. There was some substance in what your mother said. Nonetheless, your duty as Persephone, Goddess and Queen of the Underworld, stayed the same. You would have to leave soon, but that made your stomach twist and turn.
While preoccupied with your thoughts, you failed to notice the grass parting behind you. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw something long shoot through the field. You froze, knowing that it was too late to move and your body felt on edge, the feather on your neck started to heat up and become uncomfortable. Another quick movement and—
THUD!
Something grabbed your arms and the intense motion made your eyes squeeze shut. You were shaking, and spots danced behind your eyes. It took you a few moments to realize who had grabbed you, and now shielded, sporting an all-too familiar clothing color palette.
“..Jin,” You whispered breathlessly, “You’re here.”
Worlds away from each other, lifetimes away, or in different versions of reality, Seokjin heard your words as if it burned in his mind, clear as day, your presence bringing him back to life. You could only stare at him as he stroked your cheek, probably because there was some dirt on it because you had fallen asleep on the crumbling soil before walking around.
“I ask you to go away,” He starts calmly, looking at your dumbstruck expression  “And you actually left, huh?”
Your growing smile for him saving you quickly falls and you roll your eyes with a hard frown on your lips. You push him away in annoyance and hurt, and walk away from him with your arms crossed. You tried to tamp down your irritation but you were fed up with Gods trying to take your life and just throw it around.
“Why,” You asked, seething with anger, “did you come here?”
You didn’t even turn around but with the way your fists were clenched, Seokjin knew that you were not feeling happy about his presence. Better than utter despair that he had thought of, you hitting and being angry at him was infinitely times better than you being sad.
“That snake wasn’t any ordinary one. I..” Seokjin said slowly, looking back at the dead reptile, “I was cursed by a God once that I wouldn’t be able to protect someone I loved from one of my own. And well, snakes are my sacred animal so..”
“So you think that I needed your protection again?”
Seokjin felt at odds with your response. Of course you could protect yourself, it was just his wish that you didn’t have to. That he could do so instead. He knew you were smarter than you let on, you knew exactly why he had sent you away and were angry why he couldn’t have just communicated it.
“I’m sorry,” He relented, putting a hand on your shoulder before you brush it off, “I was rude and disrespectful. You didn’t deserve that. I thought that you would leave and I was scared what would happen if you didn’t. The mortal world was dying—”
“So? I would’ve come up if you had just told me! It’s really not that hard,” You finally faced him, “especially when you’re supposed to be trying to be everything that my mother thinks you are, you shouldn’t have shouted.”
“Well.. you shouted too.”
“Yeah, to make sure I was heard over your voice!”
“I just wanted to protect you.”
Of course he was. Even when you had snapped at him, he was protecting you. Seokjin had promised you that he always would take care of you, and here he was, doing just that. The more you thought about the day you were forced to leave, you realized that Seokjin had tears in his eyes.
“I know but, there’s better ways to do it.”
Seokjin’s voice wavered with sadness, “I hope that you can forgive me for the stupid things I said. I promise I’ll work harder to show you that I deserve to be your partner and that I can take care of you.”
He was scared, afraid of your reaction and how you might refuse him outright. A figure in the distance, behind Jin, captures your attention and you’re thinking of them while Jin continues.
“I wanted to make your garden a little prettier,” He admitted, his thumb stroking your finger were both the golden ring and your makeshift cloth one was tied together, “I added flowers and different fruits that reminded me of your aura. But much of them are made of jewels since, well, you know, you can’t have live plants in the Underworld.”
“Mhmm, yeah.”
“And that ring I tossed into the River Lethe,” Your ears naturally perked up at the river’s mention, “was my ring and I found it just as soon as you left. I would never mean those things I said and I’m sorry you had to hear them.”
“Right, well,” Your eyes shined with excitement and giddy, “My mother is coming, so you better be able to convince her.” You quickly removed your hand from his before your mother burst in.
Oh shit.
Tumblr media
“So you’re saying,” Demeter’s eyes burned into Seokjin and he could feel his mind turning to shreds at her words, “ you want my daughter to go back with you into that wretched palace?! She won’t return as long as I’m her mother and she has no obligation to leave. Kore will stay here.”
“Persephone is the Queen of the Underworld,” Seokjin looked at you tenderly, “it’s her duty now.”
You cringed at his wording, that was not the way to convince your mother. If anything, talking about duty would bring up the fact that she’s the Goddess of vegetation in the mortal realm. And mentioning her other name? Total loss.
“Do not defy my Hades. She will not leave my realm.”
You butted in, “I ate the pomegranate seeds, Mother.”
“You— what?” Her fiery anger dissipated into a tame flame, and her eyes glistened with unshed tears, “No, no. You,” She pointed straight to Seokjin, “You did this, didn’t you? Tricked her into eating the flirt of the Underworld to where she must leave me, her own mother for you? A lying cheat and disgusting, dishonorable coward!”
“I am no coward. I warned her and she said she wanted to,” He interlocked your hands and it made Demeter angrier, “She won’t be away for long. Only half of the year.”
“Half of the year?!” She moved towards Seokjin at a pace that even made him panic, “If you want my daughter’s hand, then propose to her properly. If she accepts, fine. She’s her own person and she had the right to choose her partner. But if she doesn’t, I will make sure your life is living hell.”
Kinda already is, Seokjin wanted to sarcastically comment but kept his mouth shut. But he reasoned that this was the best he was going to get. He turned to you and saw your wide smile and twinkling eyes. To him, you were the only person he needed. If he must, he would scourge the four realms and more to find you and even just hold your hand. With you, he had nothing to worry about.
Tumblr media
So the two of you got “engaged” and you reapplied rings (different ones because your mother wanted you to have only the best) at the very place your mother met Seokjin. He summoned the most beautiful of jewels to make the rings and many other riches when he saw how Demeter’s eyes bulged and gravitated towards the power. She was warming up to him alright.
The night before you would leave, you held a celebration— the wedding— in a small gazebo that your friend Chan, or Hephaestus, happily built for you. He started crying in the middle of building it because his own partner, Yoongi or Aphrodite, seemed to have no interest in doing the same— but another story for another time!
Celebrating with your nymphs and other Olympian Gods and Goddesses that you had befriended long ago, it was a magical experience. You saw Jungkook, or Hera, and his husband Namjoon, or Zeus, arguing animatedly in the gazebo that you had proclaimed your love for each other earlier in the evening, something about how Namjoon never made any romantic gestures for him. In another place you saw Yoongi and Hoseok, or Apollo, sharing drinks with each other while Jimin, or Hermes, was flying around trying to meet everyone. Even Seokjin, basically the God of Shyness, was smiling and accepting praise from Irene, Wheein, and Taehyung, or Ares, Athena, and Hebe respectively.
You casually walked around, the rich purple wedding gown that you wore dragged through the grass but stayed dried, magical powers were always nice. Talking with some people, drinking and eating with others, it was wonderful. At the end of the night, Demeter came up to the two of you with flower crowns, and all the Gods watched with curiosity, except you and your mother of you knew what was to come next. The crowns were beautiful and matched your auras perfectly. One made with pink lilies, purple lavender, and white baby breath, while the other was made of cress, ferns, black and purple roses. The lighter one was for you and the darker for Seokjin.
“It’s tradition,” Demeter’s voice wavered with sadness and her hands trembled as she continued, “When a nymph is married and leaves my care, she is given a crown to remind her roots and to be happy in her new life.”
Demeter turned to you, the tears in her eyes finally came pouring out and she tried her best to allow this day to be a happy day. You looked ethereal in your dress and your expression made everything she had sacrificed worth it. Cupping your cheeks, she lovingly gazed at you and put your heads together. Your own tears were coming down and you held back a sob.
“Be powerful and strong, my Kore. If anything happens, I will always be waiting here for you and you can come back, alright? It is your duty in the next six months to take care of the Underworld, rule it with a wise mind and even sharper mouth. Many will test you but prove them wrong. Your husband’s duty is to take care of you, you are equals in love. Never forget my teachings and that I have and will always love you.”
You kneeled down to your mother and touched her feet in a sign of respect, and she crowned you with all the flowers you loved most. Standing up, you saw Demeter’s eyes stare at your husband. She looked neither happy nor angry, and everyone in the room held their breath.
“It is your duty,” She started as she firmly grasped the other crown, “to protect and take care of my daughter. She rules beside you as equals and you must treat her as such. When you are troubled, find peace in the fact that she can calm the ground we walk on from rumbling, a panther from pouncing, and my very nature. After seeing your love and hearing about it from Kore, I trust you and bless you to be a good King for the Underworld and a better husband to your Queen. You are part of my family now, Hades.”
Demeter looked pleased at how her heartwarming words touched Seokjin and made him weep as well. Maybe it was her own power, because all the deities present were desperately wiping their tears so others couldn’t see. Even Jimin, both known to be lighthearted and not as sentimental, had burst into tears when he saw his best friend crying and getting crowned while Taehyung tried to soothe him.
Seokjin kneeled and did the same as you when Demeter crowned him. Seokjin mouthed a ‘thank you’ to his mother-in-law and held out his hand for you to grab. You smiled and interlocked your fingers together before looking at your mother and then the rest of your guests.
“All hail, Persephone and Hades,” Your mother continued, “The Gods and rulers of the Underworld!”
The other gods and deities, and even nature itself seemed to bow down. But the two of you were so immersed in each other, that you only waved goodbye before Jin kissed you and the ground broke beneath you and went home.

Home: Chapter eight
azriel x reader (acotar)
summary: (y/n) is a daughter of Persephone, still recovering from the trauma of her fall into Tartarus and doesn’t have time for a stupid, handsome, annoying, stunning, injured man. But now they’re stuck together in the middle of nowhere and there only chance of getting home is if she can heal him, and fast.
warnings: big spoilers for mark of Athena and house of Hades, also for the acotar series, eventual smut, blood, PTSD, graphic descriptions of violence, injuries and torture, enemies to lovers so az is a bit of a dick to start, swearing
word count: 1.6k
a/n: ahhh this is the last part and I’m kinda sad but at the same time I don’t want to drag it out, I also have a new idea for a dorian x reader so it’s a good thing to finsih one but am still sad. I hope you enjoy I made it extra fluffy (also had a cheeky wee hint back to the first part)
--------------------------------------------
You were sat in front of a large mirror, taking in your appearance as you listened to the noise downstairs, the hustle and sounds of people speaking as they rushed about in preparation a sharp contrast to the silence of your and Azriel’s shared room. The girl looking back at you in the mirror was beautiful. Her hair was pinned up, revealing a long neck adorned with a simple necklace your lover had gifted you. Your skin was clear as well, any blemishes you had, any scarring from acne you had picked at, was gone, replaced by dewy, glowing skin. In fact everything about you seemed to glow, your hair was shinier, your skin had a new ethereal sense about it, and you looked more like your mother than you ever had before.
You heard a clatter of plates downstairs and bit your lip with a slight smile, running your hands over you dress. It was baby pink, as you had commented that white may be a little on the nose, with a deep V-neck and white and pink flowers trailing down the heavy skirt, you had picked it out with the help of Feyre and Mor who had dragged you out shopping, giggling when you had stared in shock at the sheer number of dresses you only believed existed on Pinterest. You reached over the vanity and picked up the delicate gold dangling earrings that you had ‘bought’ (Azriel had technically bought them but you certainly paid him back) and put them on, gazing wistfully at your now pointed ears.
So much had changed so quickly. Azriel’s family were extremely welcoming, instantly treating you like they had known you forever. You became incredibly close with Cassian and Nesta, much to Azriel’s amusement, as you bonded over books with Nesta and a general love of Azriel with Cassian. Nesta was officially sold on you when she finished ‘Call Me by Your Name’ the day you gave it to her, the two of you discussing it all night as you made promises to find a way to show her the movie. Rhysand and Mor treated you like a sister, the three of you soon teasing each other, Amren genuinely laughing when you let loose your more creative insults. The only one who seemed reserved at first was Elain, but soon the two of you were spending hours in the garden as you taught her about the different needs that different plants had and how to grow them most effectively.
Azriel had never been more in love. He already knew you were mates but now that it was official, and possible, he felt like he was on cloud nine. He was in love with how quickly you feel asleep in his arms. The way you lit up when talking about your passions, hands moving widely. He was in love with the way your eyes sparkled constantly now, only rarely being overcome with shadows, ones that he had learned to help dispel, you were laughing more and had even started showing your back again. When you went to the House of Wind to train with Cassian and Azriel one summer afternoon you had removed your top, leaving you in a simple sports bra, not missing the mix of pride and desire in Azriel’s eyes as you continued your exercises.
“Can I ask what happened?” Nesta had asked late that day, Feyre looking up from her book, Nyx cradled in one arm. You had explained, and after, when you expected to be pushed away, Feyre had simply passed Nyx to Nesta and wrapped her arms around you, holding you for a long while, even when the Illyrians entered the room. When she pulled away you noticed the tears in her eyes and offered her a small smile, as she whispered to you.
“You’re with your family now, nothing like that will ever happen again.” And then you were crying too.
Now you were sat in your low-back dress with your hair up, scars on display for anyone to see. You had been woken at nine am by an excited chorus of fae women and all but shoved into a bath, your hair washed, and skin scrubbed until you felt new-born. You had been brought a strong, dark coffee and some honeyed toast as you sat soaking in the bath, your friends moving about outside tidying your room and fishing out everything you needed, before you were pulled from the bath and forced to dry. When you had walked back into the room, you found Mor wiggling her eyebrows as she passed you a bag which, on further inspection, you found contained an intricate set of baby blue lingerie making you laugh loudly as you thumbed the material. They had then crowded you, Nesta drying and styling your hair as Feyre did your face, treating it alike one of her beautiful paintings, Elain painting and filing your nails as Amren and Mor sat sipping on champagne, both donned in beautiful, dark silk dresses, as they discussed the day ahead. You felt alike a princess when they were done and had commented as much, gaining you a glass of champagne and a comment on how you looked like one too. However they soon left, claiming there was much to sort out downstairs and that they had no faith in the boys to get it sorted.
Now you were sat alone, your gaze had moved to outside your window where light snow had started falling. You stood and moved the open window, perching on the ledge, smiling when a robin landed next to you, flying to rest in your palm, it’s ruby coloured breast not making you flinch. You still had nightmares as you were still part god and probably always would have the dreams you had grown used to; however you were making progress.
“If you’re planning on running away that ledge is too high,” You smiled as you heard his voice, turning to see your beautiful mate smiling at you.
“Maybe Cassian can come and fly me out,” you challenged,
“Ha, ha.” He deadpanned and you giggled, standing to wrap yourself in his arms,
“In my world it’s bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the service,” you whispered into his chest,
“This technically isn’t a wedding,”
“That’s a fair point,” you muttered, and he smiled down at you,
“It would be a shame to deprive me of this sight, you look beautiful princess,” he spun you out of his arms and you giggled, making his heart swell with love.
“It would, wouldn’t it?”
“C’mon, we should go soon, Cassian’s already crying,” you laughed and grabbed his hand as he pulled you along and down the stairs. You gasped when you reached the bottom, there were flowers everywhere, the whole room transformed into a fairy wonderland that made you feel giddy. You smiled when you saw that Cassian was in fact, already tearing up as he stood to greet you, complementing you and thanking you for making his brother so happy, you had laughed and shoved him away in your emotional state, not wanting to cry so early, as you moved to the sink in the room that was spraying a fine mist of water, creating a rainbow.
“Oh Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, show me Nico Di Angelo, Camp half blood.” You threw in a golden drachma, the image wavered before revealing your friends and family on the other side, waving, and sending greetings. The inner circle came over and you all conversed for a while before Azriel was rather impatiently tugging on your hand and you moved onto the ceremony, with just your found families present. Having been raised mortal you insisted on exchanging rings, and Azriel was completely happy to oblige, obsessed with the feeling of pushing the ring onto your finger and kissing you, having someone that was wholly his, and who he was completely devoted to.
The rest of the day was spent curled under Azriel’s arm, sipping cocktails, and laughing as you were told all the most embarrassing things the inner circle could dig up. You ate delicious food and laughed with your friends, you heart aching at how naturally this happiness came to you now as you gazed at the man you loved.
You stood outside, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying the slight chill that came through the thin shawl you had wrapped around you shoulders. Soon you felt a familiar hand press into your hip, pulling you into his side tightly. You looked up at him, still in wonder of how you landed such a beautiful man.
He caught your gaze, brushing a snowflake of your cheek and grabbing your hand, pressing a light kiss into the palm. “Penny for your thoughts?” He asked, gaze so full of love that tears welled up in your eyes.
“I’m just so glad you got stabbed,” you muttered, and he laughed before you continued, “I’m serious, I don’t know where I’d be if we hadn’t met, but you are everything to me and I’m so glad we pushed through, I’m so glad we fought to be together.”
“I love you.” He whispered into your hair as he pulled you in tightly, his scarred hands moving over your scarred back as you sighed, content.
“I love you.” You replied, pulling away and watching as a red admiral butterfly landed on a nearby poppy.

SALEM - Prologue
SAVED FIC - CMZ
None of these works belong to me, they are saved works from a different account. Thank you.
Summary: In all the centuries of your existence, you had never been dragged out of hiding by another god, put in a superhero team and forced to save the universe. But it seems your luck has run out.
______________
You almost smiled as you were lead through town. The words “kill her” echoing in your head. The rope around you hands burned, and the straw of the cart below you was not a pleasant seat. But the smile never left your face. Not even for a minute.
Humans could be so… funny, sometimes.
Any other person would be petrified. The townspeople, even some you had considered friends, were chanting “witch” over and over again, until their voices seemed to blend together. Any other person would be scared about being executed for something they know to be impossible.
Any other person.
You smiled because they were right. You were a witch. Well, daughter of Nyx. Close enough.
You turned to one of the women next to you, a close friend of yours, Y/n. She had gotten tied up in your ‘court case’, standing up to defend you. Unfortunately, it seems to have backfired. You weren’t worried for you, Hades was a friend of your mother. You had nothing to worry about when it came to the afterlife. And Y/n was nothing but a good woman. As terrified of death as you were, there was no doubt the two of you would be staying in Elysium together for eternity.
“Good to see they finally got one, hm?” She seemed to appreciate the humour.
“Did they?” She turned to you. She had tear streaks down her face, her eyes puffy and red from the night she had obviously spent crying. You could hear her through the grates in the prison. You were sure she knew that, but she still acted as if she hadn’t stayed up until the early hours of the morning sobbing. And the more she sobbed, the more the reality of your situation set in.
Your mother had decided to stay with mortals for a few years before leaving you with your father, so the two of you were raised together. Y/n was everything to you. You loved her, and now you were certain you were both going to die. She’d never see the rest of human existence, not with you, not with anyone. It was obviously inevitable, but that didn’t make the shock of being burned alive go away.
A tear involuntarily fell down your face. You ignored it, putting on as strong a front as you could muster.
“Funny, they burn good women, and now they attempt to burn a demigod.”
You had tried to tell her about your… situation… when you were younger. She didn’t believe you at first, but with some small acts of magic and more interesting spells, she learned more about the existence of gods. Both Greek and (to your dismay) Norse. At first you wanted to share your gifts, help mortals advance. Your mother, and most of your godly siblings were rather divided when it came to offering assistance. So it was generally frowned upon, unless you were a god that needed to help them. Or hurt them, like your sisters Nemesis and the Moirai. Some of them even scared you with stories of gods and titans who thought the same way you did. And now, you finally see why.
“I suppose. So many good women burned. Good wives. And now us added to the pile. Seems our fate lies in the hands of the gods now.”
You looked around the cart. None of them deserved to die.
An older maid was staring quietly at the ground, praying. Another seemed to be a teenager, nervously glancing around at everyone else, stunned at the situation. The other two were about your age, whispering to each other words of encouragement, of hope. But the gods are crueler than you’d like to admit.
Y/n nudged your side, smiling softly. “Tell me we’ll be okay. That somehow we’ll get out of this.”
Your smile dropped. You swallowed.
“I… Y/n. You know there’s we can’t-”
“I know. But please.” Her eyes were brimming with tears again. “I just want to hear you say it.”
You nodded, a tear found its way down your face. In all the commotion, you had sort of forgotten this was goodbye.
“We’ll be okay.” It almost made you cringe.
“Again? Please?”
“We’ll be okay, Y/n/n. We’ll be okay.”
A shout interrupted you. A small plea that the cart driver had forgotten something and needed to return to the other side of town escaped your lips. No such luck.
“The guilty will step out, onto the grass.” A man opened the gate. He seemed mad, but his eyes held what looked like a flash of sympathy. Pity it wouldn’t help.
Your heels clicked against a stone, and you looked around. Mixed expressions. Some angry, some sad, some seemed almost confused. You reached behind you, offering your hand to Y/n. She took it. You were really going to miss her. Not that crying would help now.
You held on tight. She gripped your hand so harshly the skin of your palms turned white. The women before you had their turn, leaving behind ash and burned flesh. Y/n’s head fell onto your shoulder. You wondered how this would look to the gods who had faith in you. The ones that were entertained by you. Your mother would weep. She loved you with everything. It is not everyday she has a child, much less one with her abilities.
Y/n pressed her body closer and closer to you, melting into your side. You stroked her hair, calming her slightly. It wasn’t long before the two of you were up.
You made your way upto the charred wood as some villagers dumped more firewood onto the still hot cinders. They burned your shoes, the stench of burned rubber wafted up to your nose making you scrunch back. A still smoking shoe made you wonder if the smell was from a previous victim.
“Hey.” You turned. Well, as much as you could. One of the villagers— you thought he was a baker—was tying rope around you and Y/n. It scratched against your back, and splinters pricked through your dress.
“I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean for it to happen like this.” You gripped her hand, fire licking at your heels. Your grip tightened. So did hers.
“It’s not your fault.”
It tightened, and tightened, and tightened. Her screams, like the screams of the other, echoed through the hollow village After a while, her hand froze in place. Black scarring covered her hand and it felt hard as stone.
And you cried.
***
Learning to live on Earth as it advanced was a difficult transition to say the least. After your ‘death’, you took the position of another war god as well as a goddess of magic. You didn’t object in the slightest. Your magical abilities and fighting skills were far beyond the average, although you thought using magic on everyone you meet (besides helping every now and then) wasn’t exactly fair. Although you did meet a few worthy enemies, ones that required your magic use. That, was truly fun.
And now, you were free to live as a full god. With occasional nightmares. God status didn’t let you forget the more… human parts of you. So you went on living your life on Earth with people that were no longer your fellow humans. They were now, as Zeus so lovingly put it, “subjects to be toyed with”. Something you didn’t like, but so goes the life of an Olympian.
Several hundred years later you took on a new name, a new identity. Leave your mortal self completely behind you. Thanks to your status as a god, it was easy to find others like you that chose to stay on earth instead of Olympus or Asgard.
That’s how you met Thor, a fellow god and someone who had quite a lot of respect for your place as a greek war god. Typically Asgardians and Olympians weren’t the best of friends but, to both of your surprise, the two of you got along incredibly well, and through the years he helped you grow quite fond of Earth, or as he called it, “Midgard”.
You finally had a new life, a new name. Although Thor still referred to your Greek name every now and then, you thought it would be rather poetic to take Y/n’s.
You lived in peace. Making friends, watching them die, and eventually just having Thor by your side. It was years later, after Thor joined a new team, when Nick Fury first talked to you. He attempted to make it clear who was in charge, before you decided to whip out the fact that he was standing in front of a literal god. Of course, he’s Nick Fury. So he didn’t do much, although Thor vouched for the fact that you were no threat. Just a goddess trying to exist, even if you were a war goddess.
But, what’s better than one god on the Avenger’s team?
Two.
So (finally) Thor wore you down, and today. Today you were officially joining the Avengers with a rather appropriate moniker (in your opinion).
Salem.
