Groggily opening your eyes, attempting to blink away the sleep that was still lingering there, you take a deep breath in, grumbling noiselessly to yourself. Fresh air and morning sunlight filtered in through the gaps until they surrounded your sleepy figure. You feel around on the bed next to you for the familiar presence that has been a comfort to you for around several months now. When your hands only come in contact with the bed mat beneath you, you turn your head in the same direction, heart sinking at the emptiness of the space.

You knew Neteyam was important to your clan — he was next in line for Olo’eykyan, after all — but sometimes you wished he wasn’t. Without the title weighing down heavily on his shoulders, you’d be able to spend a lot more time together, planning out your days and getting ready for your future. Instead, you awoke more often than not alone, your homely tent slowly start to turn isolated and desolate.

Of course, you’d never tell your mate of your thoughts — Neteyam was already guilt-ridden enough whenever he eventually made his way back into your arms after such a long and strenuous day, apologising profusely for not having spent enough time with you. In those times, you do nothing but comfort him, reassure him that you’re okay and that you understand.

But, that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard.

Stretching out your limbs to get some life back into them, you slowly start to climb up off the mat, looking around your hut for some breakfast. Your tent that you shared with your loving mate was a place you treasured deeply, one you considered to be your very own safe-haven. Not too long after your official mating with Neteyam, he had secretly been sneaking off whenever he had the spare time — which, admittedly, wasn't that often — to built a home for the two of you. Initially, you hadn't really thought of his disappearances that much, but when he started sending you sneaky glances out the corner of his eye, subtle smiles directed only at you, you began to get your suspicions.

He had taken you away from his family, covering your eyes and carefully walking you in a random direction, before revealing the surprise. Your heart had melted into a pool of warmth, surrounding you completely and utterly. You were a blubbering mess — whilst this was something you knew would be happening soon for the two of you, you were never expecting it to feel such a way for you.

It felt official.

Now, your home was filled to the brim with memories and personal memorabilia. Beads and feathers you had collected all your life that represented a different moment in your relationship; personalised weapons and clothes that you had made for one another during your courting ceremony, and one corner that smelt entirely of the two of you from where you sleep, where you come together as one soul each night and show one another how much your love means.

In another corner of the tent lies two baskets — one filled with fruit, and the other filled with meat. When you’d first mated with Neteyam, he had insisted on collecting all the foods the two of you would need for your home. You had found the offer loving, your heart fluttering in your chest as his desire to provide for you, but declined. You were to be mates, which meant you wanted to provide for him, too. So, after several long discussions, you’d compromised that Neteyam would hunt the meat, and you would forage the fruit.

It was a routine that worked quite well, taking note of the good amount of the ratio as you looked down in the baskets. Giving yourself a moment to contemplate what you wished to eat on that particular morning, moments away from reaching down and grabbing to your heart’s desire, a funny feeling started to tingle in your stomach.

Taking in another deep breath, you told yourself that it was nothing, that it would disappear, but it only seemed to grow worse. With one hand on your stomach, the other covering your mouth, you rushed over to the entrance of your tent, opening the flap and spewing up last night’s meal into the empty bucket outside.

You took a moment to breath afterwards, catching your breath and wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. You looked around at the clan surrounding you, wondering if anyone had taken notice of you — as far as you were aware, no one had. So, walking back inside your tent, you went over to the fresh water yourself and Neteyam kept stocked and washed your hands.

Looking back over at the basket of fruits and meats, you decided you’d skip that morning’s breakfast.

“And then what happened?”

You were out in the lush forests of Pandora, taking a walk with Kiri as she used even her spare to time to prepare for her healing work with her grandmother. The two of you walked side by side, the day’s sun basking down its warmth on your retreating figures.

When you’d originally met up with Kiri earlier that morning, you had expected her to be her usual self — bright and excited to explore more of what Ewya offered her children. Instead, you had been met with a much angrier version of your sister-in-law.

Before you’d even started walking together, she was reciting her own morning back to you. Apparently, Lo’ak had believed it to be funny to scare Kiri whilst her back was turned away from him, causing the paste she was making to jump out of her hands and become ruined.

You couldn’t help but stifle a giggle out her crazy morning antics.

“And, then,” Kiri started, grumbling at her situation as she bent down to pluck a small part of a plant away, placing it delicately into her pouch, “father grounded me.”

You turn your head towards her, furrowed eyes on display, showing off your confusion. “What? Why?”

As Kiri stood back up, her anger dissipated and a smirk played on her lips. “Because I punched him in the face.”

You couldn’t help the laugh that completely tumbled from your mouth, loud and clear as any other creature within the forests. Grabbing at your stomach in an attempt to cease the laughing, your sister beside you only making your enthusiasm worse by joining in and exclaiming that he had it coming!, you felt elated, until your happiness turned into queasiness.

There was a split second where you knew what was going to happen before it actually did, but you weren’t given enough time to react. Your only option was to bend low, throwing up once again, although this time you had no idea where the contents had come from, considering you hadn’t eaten since last night and had already thrown up earlier that morning.

Coughing and clutching at your stomach, you felt Kiri’s gentle hand against your back, smoothly rubbing your skin to calm you down. Once you felt that was everything, you stood back up straighter, head groggy and eyes glazed over — you had never felt more worse in your life.

“Oh, y/n, you look terrible!” she chastised you, her eyes moving fervently over your figure, shaking her head in disbelief that you had gone from one emotion to another so drastically. “Is this the first time it’s happened?”

Breathing deeply, you shake your head. “No,” you swallow, pulling a disgusted face at the taste lingering in your mouth, before running a hand over your face from the exhaustion of it all. “It happened this morning, too.”

“And, you haven’t been to see grandmother?” Kiri’s voice was slowly beginning to raise, her obvious annoyance at your stubbornness beginning to effect her clearly. “Come, I will take you to her now.”

Immediately, you tried to refuse. “No, Kiri, I’m fine—“

But, your sister was relentless, adamant. “I’m not taking no for an answer, not when you could be ill.”

As she starts to pull you arm back in the direction of home, you look back over your shoulder at where you had reluctantly left the mark of your presence. “But, what about—“

“I will clean it up later. Come.”

From the moment you had arrived in the Tsahik’s tent, skin becoming clammy, sweat beading along your forehead and dry heaving into your hand, you were sure she knew what was wrong with you.

The woman who was like your own grandmother had gestured you closer to her awaiting figure, moving forwards and leaving Kiri hovering worriedly by the entrance to the tent. Mo’at gently grabbed your chin, looking so intently at you, all you wanted was to cower away, but you stood your ground, knowing the woman would only get annoyed.

When she was satisfied with what she saw, she gently grasped at your arms, guiding you down onto the floor in front of her. You started to feel just slightly better when you were no longer standing, swaying and feeling like you were going to fall any second. Mo’at moved back over to her shelves that held an assortment of healing herbs and ailments for those in need, coming back to you. She moved behind you, prodded at your back gently and pressing her ears against your spine, before moving back around and doing the same to your stomach.

You looked over at Kiri worriedly, hoping to find some sort of semblance hidden within her gaze, but her expression only mirrored your own. She, too, had no idea what was wrong with you — she was only training to be like her grandmother, and she clearly hadn’t gotten to this part of her lessons just yet.

“You are pregnant, my child.”

Your head snapped in her direction, not fast enough, those particular words reverberating within your mind, bouncing from one corner of the walls to another until you were sure you hadn’t imagined what the woman in front of you had said. You could feel your ears subconsciously fall against your head, your tail solemnly wrapping around your figure protectively, although, you were unsure what you were protecting yourself from.

You were pregnant.

Tears started to form within your eyes, pleading desperately within yourself to not let them fall. Your breathing started to pick up in pace a little, too, but you will it to calm. Looking down at your stomach, you placed a gentle hand against it, like you were caressing your unborn child.

Your unborn child.

You and Neteyam had had conversations about having a family — any pair of mates would — but your plans were to wait a little longer, to live your lives as you were supposed to before delving deeper into that chapter. It was all too much — you were unsure what to think. Should you be happy that you were having your firstborn child, or should you be worried of your mates reaction, scared he’d resent you for not waiting longer like you’d originally planned?

No words left your lips, throat too parched and nerves too calculated to form a barely coherent response, but you found that you didn’t have the time to. In that moment, Neteyam burst through his grandmother’s tent, eyes wide, ears alert and tail pointed tensely in the air. Someone had clearly seen you enter the Tsahik’s tent with Kiri, looking pale and unwell.

Looking up at him, you could only feel more tears consume your eyes until your vision started to become blurry. He rushed over to you, crouching down next to you, cupping your face in his hands and inspecting every inch of your body. When he couldn’t find anything external, he began to panic, confused. “What is it, ma muntxa (my mate)?”

Your eyes trailed both of his own, looking deeply into them and seeing nothing but pure love and adoration. From next to you, you could see Mo’at and Kiri silently leave the two of you alone in the quiet of the tent, giving you the space you needed.

Hands still stroking softly against your stomach, you looked down, then back up at him, hoping he would understand what you were trying to say without you having to utter the words. His eyes followed to where your hands lay, widening in surprise, his tail beginning to flick back and forth rhythmically.

“I’m sorry,” you whisper, almost inaudible. A tear falls down your cheek, cascading to the bottom of your chin.

Neteyam continues to hold your face in his hands, eyes never once leaving your own as his thumb wipes your emotions away. A breathless laugh tumbles from his lips, smile wide and unable to disappear once it’s made its presence known. “What could you possibly be sorry for?”

Despite the loving features Neteyam was bearing only to you, you couldn’t help the guilt still continuing to eat away at you. “We didn’t plan for this,” you pause licking your lips in contemplation, “we were going to wait a little longer...”

“Listen to me,” Neteyam starts, voice firm. He shuffles closer to your figure, practically pulling you on top of him, leaving your face in the palms of his hands. “Sometimes plans change, and there’s nothing wrong with that.” One of his hands leaves your face to place it lovingly against your stomach. “Especially when the change involves something like this.”

You can’t look away from, too scared that if you do, he might suddenly change his mind. So, you don’t, and he doesn’t.

Your tears are now winning over, falling onto your face tumultuously, but this time, they’re happy tears, joyful tears. You laugh along with Neteyam, disbelieving to have been so lucky with this blessing from Ewya — both being Neteyam, and your unborn child.

He brings your faces together now, foreheads touching as he rubs your noses together. “I cannot wait to start this new life together with you, ma muntxa (my mate).” You nudge against his nose out of love, causing him to chuckle at your affections. “I will protect you both with my life — and I will care for you both, always.”

Placing a gentle kiss upon your lips, you feel his hands return to the flat of your stomach — this time, his thumbs are running smoothly against the skin there. When he pulls away from your face, you lean closer, desperate for more of him, but you feel your heart ache fondly when you watch him lower himself down, pressing such a feather-like kiss to your stomach that you barely feel it.

“I love you, ma’eveng (my child).”

warmth

- your body is so much warmer than theirs, they often all cuddle up to you

- daniela prefers to curl up pretty much on top of you, she claims she needs to be as close to the source of heat as possible

- bela and cassandra are much more relaxed and would simply lean into your sides

gifts

- all three daughters love giving you little gifts and trinkets

- at first though daniela is quite new to the whole gift giving world so the first couple she gives you tend to be the limbs of maids who haven’t been particularly kind to you

- once she gets the hang of it she’ll often spend ages on the phone to donna describing and rambling about an outfit that would look amazing on you so that her aunt can make it for you

- bela tends to wrap new books with a piece of brown string and gift them to you, as soon as you’ve finished one you’ll have another book wrapped with a bow waiting on your bed

- cassandra uses her ‘favourite niece privileges’ and often asks karl to craft you new weapons such as daggers and pocket knives (she’ll often request for specific engravings on them to make them personalised to you)

fear

- none of them quite understand how the site of them covered in blood after a maid has stepped out of line or a hunt doesn’t scare you

- although when any of them start raising their voices at you in anger your eyes fill with the fear that they would normally crave to see in other people

- however they absolutely hate it when you’re scared because of their actions

- bela would be the first to apologise, not wanting you to end up hating her in anyway

- daniela would sulk like a kicked puppy but wouldn’t venture too far from you, she wants to give you space but doesn’t want to leave your personal space

- cassandra locks herself away in the armoury room, throwing daggers at bodies that hang as targets. she gets angry at herself so being the source of your fear

pastime

- bela prefers to read with you in the library. she likes reading to you as your head rests on her lap, it always ends in you falling asleep and cuddling closer to her stomach

- cassandra loves to show the different ways she can evoke pain onto her ‘toys’. she shows you different torture techniques on maids that failed their duties. cass also deems it necessary that she teaches you how to use the daggers she gifts you

- spending time with daniela is much like spending time with a puppy who can’t decide exactly what they want to do. one moment you’ll both be cuddling together on her bed and the next she’ll be begging you to play hide and seek with her (you always say yes in the end, even when you know she cheats)

meals

- the three of them often, begrudgingly, work together in order to care for you and make you smile

- they know that you consume normal food so they all attempt to work together and make you lunch (the first time ended up with you eating a weird concoction of oatmeal and something unknown swirled into it)

- the maids are literally terrified to enter the kitchens when the daughters are in there

- cass and dani tend to get into arguments and knives do get thrown

- yeh, bela tends to makes the majority of the meal and the other two ruin it at the end by adding all sorts of ingredients they think goes into ‘human food’

their mother

- cass and daniela love to argue about who loves you more. bela turns into the mediator and reminds them that it’s definitely her that loves you more

- queue alcina getting involved and telling them all to respectfully stfu

- jealousy comes along time and again in the relationship, especially when it comes in terms of who spends more time with you

- again alcina gets sick of her daughter’s squabbling and decides that until they reach a level of clarity that doesn’t make her raging migraine worse you’ll stay in her office and share an afternoon tea with her

- it definitely took a LOT of time to gain the trust and respect of the countess but after her watching you continuously love and care for her daughters she can’t help but count you a blessing (it also helps you keep them occupied whilst she works)

Sleepily drives Jeni to work, while you are staying overnight at the hospital with Byeol.

He finds himself getting more and more easily frustrated when he misses you. He'll work harder and faster than usual in the hopes that he'll get to spend more time with you, if not physically then on the phone. He really hates being away from you for extended periods of time because his motivation goes to rock bottom. The only thing that gets him to actually do anything is the idea that if he works hard he can see you again. He always rewards himself when he finishes part of his work by allowing himself 10 minutes to text you and suddenly he's all bright and cheery again.

Lee Know

He doesn't want to outright tell you that he misses you but you can always tell. His messages describing his daily activities become more frequent and often times the other members have mentioned to you that he's been extra whiney and has complained to them about not seeing you. They always try and give him some extra free time because he never fails to be extremely annoying and they don't want to deal with a grumpy whiny Minho. When you see each other again he'll make sure to give you a kiss which last a few seconds longer than normal so you know that he's felt like he's been missing out.

Changbin

He doesn't like to feel like he's wasting time so if he's got a few hours until he can see you then he'll find some way to make himself busy. He doesn't want to think about how much he misses you so he'll go to the gym or work with Chan in the studio so he feels like he's earned your time. Jisung is literally that 'what would happen if you just... called Taylor up?' because he will just call you. Seungmin

Similarly to Chan and Changbin, Seungmin will just go about his day and try and get things done. He'll obviously be itching to see you again so he can splay himself across your couch whilst you stroke his hair but on the whole he's quite restrained at leaving and getting distracted by it. A text at lunch and one when he's leaving is enough to satisfy him because it means when he finally does see you he can enjoy your time together fully without having to change his mood too much.

Jeongin

Felix volunteering as a Christmas elf in a mall or Christmas village and omg, him in his costume is so adorable and he's having so much fun in the way only a filthy rich trust fund kid can. There's a huge line of girls who just want to talk to him

okay but this is fantastic as someone who's worked as a santa's elf myself, i can picture this so well

because Felix makes it absolutely magical for the kids, always fully committed to the bit, treating them like absolute royalty and matching their excited energy to meet Santa. there's a line of girls for felix, yes, but there's also countless mothers who see this wonderful young man interacting with their kids and they suddenly feel like a teenager with a crush for the five minutes they get to interact with him.

there's a few different people who play santa throughout the week and Felix get to know them all. they're fond of his enthusiasm and he comes to love how many of them do this despite the low pay because it's worth it to make the children happy.

felix spending down time on a slow day sitting down like a little kid on the christmas set, listening to the santas tell stories about their favourite moments from the past few years since they'd started dressing as santa. he's so caught up in the magic of it all.

that being said, there's a few other elves that he works with and while they're all kind, not all of them can or want to match his energy. he also gets the nickname Buddy from the 2003 movie Elf, where Will Ferrell plays a human 'elf' who is much taller than all the actual elves. you get the idea. he also gets called this (at first jokingly) by quite a few of the people who come to meet Santa for the exact same reason. he's a very tall elf. i love him.

the other elves will always push felix towards the nervous or bratty children, as he's kind of magic at getting them settled.

while the other elves he works with quickly become immune to his nonsense and most of his charms, the one that sometimes catches people off guard is whenever he offers to hold babies of often frantic mothers, who usually have quite a few children to try and get settled in with Santa.

please im begging you, picture felix in an elf outfit, gently cradling and rocking a crying child, smiling so warmly down at the little baby in his arms, softly cooing 'it's alright, you're going to be such a perfect little angel for santa, aren't you?" and being so pleased when the baby stops crying and babbling at him. the mother is both surprised and relieved, and felix just shrugs like it's the easiest thing in the world, telling her it's no trouble at all.

however the minute someone mentions that he's going to be a good dad, he gets this panicked look that alarms his coworkers. they never bring that idea up again. (he's like 18 of course he panics lol)

felix being both flattered and horrified by his groupies, since most of them are teenage girls who try and flirt with him using christmas-themed pick up lines and he's never had to deal with being hit on at work before but It's Not Fun. yes the other elves find his predicament endlessly funny, but they do also cover for him without question when he gets too uncomfortable and needs to hide around the back of the set. they can, will, and have called security on his behalf and they will do it again.

it's for this reason that their team especially grows to be very close and quite good friends over the season. a lot of the older elves, or even just those who have been doing it a few years and may have some similar experiences (though usually not as frequent or as intense as felix's) become very protective over him. they get drinks together, and exchange little christmas gifts at the end of the season. felix is very excited to get all of his coworkers gifts, he picks them out all special and personalised on his day off. when he puts effort in, i genuinely believe felix could be a fantastic gift giver.... however i also believe he doesn't get invested often enough in the idea of given presents for that to be much of a known fact about him. in fact, i think his family believes he's terrible at giving gifts. anyways.

Hongjoong adores fashion, personalising clothes and unique accessories, so seeing your outfits he always knows just how to elevate them. Running to his room to grab you a jacket of his that would match well, or a necklace that suits your shirt. He loves sharing these things with you and you almost always have a piece of him with you through clothing/accessories. 

Seonghwa: 

Animal Crossing is hands down Seonghwa’s favorite pass time aside from building legos. His switch was easy to bring on tour with him and it was just a cozy and comforting game. So it was no surprise when he asked you to come design a little part of his island with him, something to remind him of you when he’s far from home. So you sat together and designed a little part of his island together, frequently changing it a redesigning it together when new items are placed in the game. He really likes it because it’s such a fun way of spending time together, often with a nice warm drink and cozy blankets. Bonus points if you also have Animal crossing and have a Seonghwa section on your Island

Yunho: 

Yunho loves trying new games with you. The man is a gamer down to the core, be it board games or video games he absolutely adores them. He never buys a game without you in mind and while cozy games aren’t his cup of tea, if you like them he’ll get them all for you to play together. If it isn’t multiplayer it isn’t for him. He wants to lay down on his bed with you, playing video games with or against you at all hours. Even if you guys are apart, he’ll call you and you’ll play together from a distance. It’s always fun to him to try new games and figure them out, meet and make fun characters etc. He loves it so much. 

Yeosang: 

When all of Ateez designed Hehetmon’s Yeosang couldn’t help but wonder what yours would look like. It was his signature thing after all, if you had one it would have been cute. So he asked you to design one and since then he had it made into a plush and a phone case design together with his hehetmon. He always personalizes thing with it for you, because he finds it so adorable. He also has the plush on his bed together with his own and he takes it with him on tour. Creating the hehetmon is just a sweet memory to him and every time he sees it, it reminds him of the fun time you had together. 

San:

One hobby is not enough, San is the type of person to enjoy trying anything for a hobby. Though he might be hesitant sometimes, he loves trying new hobbies with you. You want to take a ceramics class? Yes, he’s there. He saw a crochet video of a cute stuffed animal, he’s buying enough yarn so that you both can try. There’s an interesting work out class being advertised? Hell yeah, he’s signing you both up. He loves trying new things with you, so much. Especially the more cozy hobbies like crochet, coloring, or photography. It’s fun to him for you both to sit down together and do something fun. 

Mingi: 

He’s not shy about his love for any type of music, especially however rock/alt bands. Mingi is a sucker for good music and some of the most least known bands have the best music. Something you two often do is go on a youtube/spotify/soundcloud deep dive, looking for new music and new bands to listen to. You guys can sit for hours, watching music videos, listening to albums and watching concert videos for artists you didn’t know existed until 10 minutes prior. It’s always so fun. You also make playlists for eachother when you’re apart, to fill eachother in on things you found when you weren’t together. It’s important time spent together.  

Wooyoung: 

Wooyoung loved to cook. It filled him with so much joy but nothing filled him with more joy than people enjoying his food. Food is a way for people to come together and he loved that, but your opinion mattered most. IT wasn’t rare that the dorm would be full of the members and you, waiting for your meal and Wooyoung would run at you with a spoon or a fork. Ignoring all the other members and letting you taste his food first. If you said it was missing something, he’d figure it out. If you said it tasted perfect, he’d tell everyone the meal is served. He also runs at you enthousiastically as well, happy for you to taste it. 

Jongho:

It was ritual and something you both cherished deeply despite it being really mundane. Getting ready in the morning was Jongho’s favorite time of the day, standing next to you doing your hair as he brushes his teeth, or you showering as he does his skincare. Every now and then if one of you is still tired and groggy, you’ll eachother. Helping Jongho get his hair just right or him helping you put on moisturizer and sunscreen, but his favorite is when you’re both really awake. Making fun faces at eachother through the mirror and poking at eachother as your getting ready.

Sabatino decides to call it quits on the proposal. It’s clear to him at this point that it’s not the right time, that the universe keeps throwing up obstacles for a reason. All he wants is for it to be special for you, but he keeps just fucking it up. The pressure is stressing him out and it’s starting to affect the relationship. You can tell he’s hiding something from you and the fact he refuses to discuss it creates an issue. There’s always been things he hasn’t been able to tell you, you accept that, but this is different.

The pause will hopefully give him a little breathing room.

Things go back to normal; he lives in the present instead of being preoccupied with the future. He starts to have fun again, exist in the moment. The two of you spend the weekend taking some time to reacquaint with each other. His job’s been a little manic and you’ve been working a case with the FBI, you’ve barely existed in the same space over the past couple of weeks. He spends Saturday morning in bed with you, his hands chasing over your skin as he makes love to you in freshly laundered sheets. After dinner you go for a walk on the beach because you’re craving sweet and he’s thinking ice cream.

He lives for moments like this, strolling down the boardwalk, his fingers entwined with yours. There weren’t many of them when he was working for the CIA, now he treasures every single one.

The sun is setting when you come across Nina’s cupcake truck. Your eyes light up, and ice cream is completely forgotten because he knows how much you love her Red Velvet cupcakes and she only has one left. He leaves you sitting on a bench, watching the ocean roll up on the shore. He knows you find it soothing, the crash of the waves, the motion of the water.

“A little bird tells me you’re planning on locking that down.” Nina says, gesturing towards you when he orders the cupcakes.

“I was.” Sabatino tells her as he hands over the cash. “But the universe had other plans, so here we are.”

“You got in your own head.” Nina says knowingly as she opens up two individual cake boxes.

“There’s a lot of pressure to get it right you know?” He explains, his palm running over the nape of his neck. "It was causing a few issues between the two of us, so I shut it down."

Nina rests her elbows on the counter before leaning forward.

“Maybe it’s for the best.” She says with a shrug before picking up an icing bag and tilting the red velvet cupcake towards her. “I mean you’re already falling down at the first hurdle.”

“First hurdle?” He repeats with a bitter laugh. “Trust me, there have been plenty of hurdles and we’ve cleared every single one of them.”

“Uh huh.” She says as she surveys her work on the cupcake. “Then this little one should be no problem.”

She shows him the cupcake and his gaze flickers up to her in disbelief when he reads the words ‘Marry Me.”

“Are you serious?” He asks her, his hands on his hips.

“It’s cute right?” She says before putting it away into its own box. “And it’s perfect for her. She’s low maintenance and this is something a little bit special. Not too showy but personalised. Even you can’t fuck it up.”

He hates to say it but she’s right. He couldn’t have chosen a more perfect moment. The tide is coming in, the waves creeping up the shore and the light is just sublime, that cascade of colours illuminating the beach.

“What do I owe you?” He asks her, taking the box begrudgingly.

“I get to make the cake for your wedding.” She barters with him.

He gives her a look before he crosses his arms over his chest and sighs.

“Fine, if she says yes, then you get to make the cake.” He agrees before pointing his finger at her. “But if she says no, I get free cupcakes for life.”

“Yea that’s not happening.” She tells him, shaking her head. “If she says no, you get a pity cupcake, this one time and that’s it.”

“Deal.” He agrees before turning his back on Nina and focusing his attention on more important things.

You rise to your feet when he appears alongside of you, the individual cupcake box in his hand. You smile as you take it from him. That smile, it lights up his entire world and he knows that this is it, this is his moment.

He has the ring in his hand when you open the box, he watches as you study the writing before you tilt your head towards him.

“Nik…”

He doesn’t get down on one knee. It’s not your dynamic. Your partnership has always been based on mutual respect, meeting your challenges face to face and that’s how he intends to do this. He takes your hand in his, the ring clasped tightly between his fingers.

“Alana, I have loved you since that day you showed up in Afghanistan and every day, I loved you more. I want to grow old with you, start a family with you, I want…” He pauses for a moment, his voice rough as he struggles to find the words. “I want you to be my wife. So, I’m just a boy standing in front of a girl with a cupcake, asking her to marry me.”

You laugh and it’s such a rich, beautiful sound. He hopes he gets to spend the rest of his life hearing it.

“Yes Nik.” You say as he slips the ring onto your finger. “Of course, I’ll be your wife.”

• mark is a busy guy. being in two active groups that requires his attention all the time, he isn’t one to have much time for himself or others. but i feel like if mark really liked you, whether it be romantic or as a friend, he’ll definitely makes time free just to spend that time with you. i can imagine him finally having a small break throughout the week, and instead of using it to invest in personal hobbies, he calls you up and asks if you’re up to hang out with him and do something. such as going out to eat or visit a local arcade. if mark likes you, he’d love to have you around, because your mere presence brings him enough energy to forget about his busy week.

— RENJUN ( 황런쥔. ) gifting gifts

• i’m sure everyone knows how much renjun likes to draw and art itself, so i don’t think the thought of him making you small drawings is far off. he likes crafting too so he’s definitely the type to make little gifts. those gifts could range from bracelets he made over the week and personalised for you, with your favourite colours and things that remind him of you. or other gifts such a small sketch he made of you while you were too distracted, he would hand it to you saying he ‘thought you looked very nice in this angle’, making you flustered without even intending to do so. he definitely likes creating gifts rather than spending money on gifts because to him, it carries more meaning. if renjun likes you he’d love to surprise you with self made gifts that he took about an hour to make.

• though jeno doesn’t seem like the type to be into physical touch, he still likes to have you near him and wants to be near you too. he’d be the type to always wrap an arm around your shoulder if you’re walking around or have his hands on your shoulder as he walks behind you and guides you. he might even consider linking your arms together as you walk around. he also uses it as a way to protect you, when the two of you are outside, he’ll keep a protective arm around you as you make your way through the busy streets. he also likes the warmth he gets from it so winter is spend with him being super close to you while he complains about the cold weather. with physical touch, jeno likes to show you that he is always close and won’t have to worry.

• i don’t think it’s a surprise. haechan is a touchy person in general and it shows how much he cherishes one person. whether it be subtle small gestures such as gently touching you whenever you have conversations, or big gestures as clinging onto you when he sees you. he’s definitely the type to give welcome and goodbye hugs or hold hands to drag you with him because he saw something that he wanted to share with you. if comfortable with it, he wouldn't be against the idea of giving platonic kisses on each others cheeks every now and then because to him it just shows how close and strong your friendship is to have reached such a point. he also loves holding hands and the warmth he gets from it. it also makes him feel more connected with you. haechan just likes to show his love for others by keeping them close and smothering them with hugs.

• though jaemin is also a touchy person, he wouldn’t be as touchy like haechan or want to be near every minute like jeno. instead jaemin likes to show his love and appreciation through caring acts. that could be making you food while you’re busy studying for an exam, or bringing extra food in case you’d forget yours, giving you the answers to homework the both of you had, or finish the list of groceries you didn’t get to finish. his way is the silent but very much present type of affection and it's pretty easy to spot who he has a bias against since he puts more effort into the actions he does for the ones he adores. these ways, jaemin likes to let you know that he appreciates you for sticking with him. through acts of services, jaemin show that he truly cares about you and likes to get rid of the burdens bothering you.

• chenle isn’t one to openly display PDA, he also isn’t one who needs to be with you all the time to feel loved. however, he likes to let you know he appreciates you and cares about by letting you know about his whereabouts. he’ll text randomly at 2 am in the morning telling you that he just won a match in a game and wanted to tell you first since it meant a lot to him. or he’ll ask you what you’re doing, and annoy for the next 30 minutes until you ask him to stop, which he does, reluctantly. when he notices you had a bad day, he'll come up to you when no one is looking and tell you there truly is nothing to worry about and how great you did in his eyes. he loves to encourage you whenever you doubt yourself, and he’s the best hype man for whenever you feel like life is going bad. chenle loves to assure you that he thinks about you with his affirming words, even if those words don’t directly say it.

• jisung seems like someone who’d be just fine on his own idk. the type that doesn’t need people to be with him all the time to be entertained, so for him to want to reach out to you first and ask to hang out says a lot. he’d want to see you at the most random moments, coming up with any excuse that sounds reasonable enough so he won’t look like an obsessed person. through quality time jisung is able to show you that he really does appreciate you in his life by spending his greatest moments with you. he’d use the quality time spent to make sure the both of you leave with the thought that it was an enjoyable time spend together. through quality time jisung shows that he cares enough to want you around all the time

hi burnt ice anon here. can't say that i'm a mind reader lmao but this isn't the first time that my writing has managed to hit someone right in the kink~ so i'll take your response as the highest of compliments <3

anyways i really like yours and mold friend's merformer stuff so i'm gonna throw my hat into the ring with a bit of megamagrod (think that's their ship name) enjoy~

so rodimus and magnus are the captain and sic of the lost light, which i feel would be a research vessel investigating a series of shipwrecks caused a certain merformer out in the middle of the arctic circle

and oh boy do they find the merformer when they get there. he's massive, like half the size of their ship massive and immediately rodimus is down bad, because the intelligence of the big guy, who he soon learns is named megatron, is just so intriguing to a young intrepid researcher like himself. magnus is more concerned about his captain's/lover's new fascination with the merformer because megatron has drowned like six ships and there have been no survivors.

but after a late night conversation on an iceberg with megatron, magnus too, finds himself down bad. they actually learn that megatron was only attacking ships who were trying to hunt him down and that he has a really big interest in human literature

cue really sweet and fluffy courting between all parties involved and rodimus being a really fucking horny size queen and drooling over how massive megatron's spike is.

perhaps merformers like megatron have something to the conjunx rites and he spends his spare time making really intricate and very personalised gifts for magnus and rodimus

i feel like magnus would probably be the one to carry any eggs tho (bc rodimus is too small) but honestly i like the idea of the three of them adopting a child instead of eggpreg, maybe cause megatron's massive size (even for someone of his species) has caused some problems involving his fertility. or maybe there are eggs invovled, but bc of cross species stuff, they don't actually hatch and megatron reallys wants kids so they adopt instead

this is less horny and more gushing about sweet merformers fluff but i think those three would be so kinky, especially with how big megatron is and how much of a size queen rodimus is. but i really like your merformers stuff and i wanted to contribute in some way (hope this one's okay since it's less kinky

I’m watching Pathfinder lore videos, because I just enjoy looking at other people’s worldbuilding, and a tiny little nugget stuck with me. I was watching this video on the demon lords of the Abyss, and it came to Angazhan, the great ape demon of jungles, apes and tyranny. And it just mentions that his realm, Ahvoth-Kor, is formed in a great ravine in the Abyss, with jungles on either wall, but gravity pulls towards the walls, so as you stand on the ‘ground’ in one jungle on one wall, you can see the other above you. Trees and rope bridges cross the gap, which must be fascinating as you cross the halfway point and gravity abruptly reverses itself. And I just. I mean, Angazhan doesn’t do much for me as himself, but his realm caught my attention the most in the entire video, just for that one detail. Because it’s so cool. He lives in a folded realm. You can climb a pillar to the sky and then fall up the top half of it to the ground on the far side.

And it just made me realise that I love the Abyss, or rather the potential of the Abyss, in both its D&D and Pathfinder incarnations. Because chaos gets all the cool world states. Because chaos feels free to break the rules and get weird, and therefore give you fantastic landscapes like Ahvoth-Kor. Which is actually quite normal, aside from the fact that it’s folded double on itself. You could go so much weirder.

But, at the same time, I also hate the Abyss, just slightly. Because you can’t get weird, apparently, without also getting evil. Because, while I have seen the chaotic good and chaotic neutral planes mentioned, they don’t get anywhere near as much attention. How many people even know the names of the good-aligned chaotic planes? And, yes, Limbo and the Maelstrom are more of a thing, and the Maelstrom at least is fantastically cool, but they’re not focused on really either. Because they don’t have cool themed villains hanging out in them. Which is, granted, another excellent selling point of the Abyss. Demon lords are a lot more idiosyncratic than archdevils, more, again, weird and wonderful. On the D&D side, which I’m more familiar with, I do adore Juiblex, Zuggtmoy and Fraz-Urb’luu. When you are shaping your realm out of raw chaos to match your personality, it gives you a degree of wild customisation that more lawful, rigid planes just don’t allow. The demon lords are exciting, in a way archdevils just aren’t for me.

But. It means that if you want really cool fantastic landscapes and batshit world states, you have to go to an evil plane where everything is trying to kill slash torture you. The good aligned chaotic planes of the respective ttrpgs, Elysium and Arborea and the Beastlands, are to a large extent just ‘unchecked nature’, the extremely pastoral idea of untouched wilderness. If you want to see truly cool and alien and fantastic things, you have to get tortured for it.

Or, granted, try the Maelstrom in Pathfinder. The Maelstrom is really cool.

Like. If they’re both formed from raw chaos, why can’t good be equally as batshit? Why can’t you have, I don’t know, a chaotic good sea god whose ship sails upside down on the surface of a vast ocean of air, and whose sea sprite petitioners venture down in diving bells to marvel at the stars? (Sidenote: there could also be more good-aligned sea gods, just as a general note). Why isn’t there a heaven for the souls of subterranean travellers and explorers where they get to spend eternity spelunking absolutely mind-boggling and impossible caves that open out into the raw foam of chaos? Why couldn’t the chaotic good plane also be a nested stew of personalised bubble worlds shaped from raw fundament by strong-willed but mildly-to-majorly batshit themed entities, that are just in this case also friendly and unlikely to torture you out of hand?

Why is good so tame? Even at its wildest, it’s so tame compared to how batshit and weird evil gets to be. Like, yes, good means safety, but safe doesn’t have to mean ‘bounded’. It could mean ‘I will touch my grace upon you so we can witness wonders together’. It could mean ‘let me make a place where fire does not burn so I can turn a sun inside out and let you experience the strange geometries of its interior’.

I just. The Abyss is really, really cool, this strange bubble realm of nested psychoses written onto reality by larger than life beings. I do love it. But. You could have that, and not have it built on suffering. Not instead of, but as well. With equal weight.

Let good be weird too. Let chaos in general just be the place where both horrors and wonders beyond imagining are explored.

As another, related complaint, I know it's to do with game balance and player capabilities, but it's also a bummer that the outer planes in general are something most PCs will never experience first hand, owing to being in general fantastically lethal and/or hard to get to. I just wanna wander Zuggtmoy's fungal fields, and climb rope bridges across the gravity line in Ahvoth-Kor!

— ROMAN CORNELIUS JAMES BEAUREGARD.

Roman prefers to spend his birthdays with his family.

He is a very big family man and for events such as birthdays, he's always celebrated with his loved ones - including you.

He likes to do family activities at home in France, nice meals, close gathering with friends and family.

Some birthdays he spends them without his family but will have a big party to make up for it, which his manager usually takes advantage of to post on social media.

Since he's famous, events like birthdays are a big deal, so even at family events there will be at least one professional photographer.

He also loves a good party. Since he's in university he throws a huge party at the frat, yeah, he's one of them. So most of the time he celebrates his birthdays wasted.

But he always makes effort to visit or at least call his family the day before to celebrate his birthday with his loved ones.

He isn't like Roman, a celebrity and rich, so his gatherings are more simple and homely when it comes to his family.

Since a child his mom has always had family over for a birthday meal she made for him and he loves it even as an adult, he loves it even more knowing he takes you as his partner.

From then on he will only celebrate it if it's just you two and a small cake, even if it's a small cupcake.
