I am (supposedly, allegedly, technically) writing a play. Though it will never be published or presented for the purpose of gathering fans or the likes, I'm only writing it for my own enjoyment

I do accept furry comms!! Please be aware that I don't typically draw furry art so I am pretty inexperienced in that field. Regardless! I really want to try anyways and do my best, so I appreciate your patience with me!!

Additionally with furry comms: I will only do anthro/humanoid!! I'm not all that confident in my abilities to draw animals in the way I want to, but maybe someday in the future!

Yes I will draw your DnD character!! You must already have a visual reference for them, or at the very least, an assembly of reference images that I can use! I will not be designing your DnD character from scratch. It takes way too long for me to do something like that and I wish to respect both my time and effort and also yours.

I will draw most all DnD races. Please be aware the more animalistic races are not entirely within my expertise, but I will do my best!!

This goes for general OCs as well!! You must have an adequate visual reference of your OC for me or else I can't help you.

I don't want to draw irl people, but if you have someone specific or traits from someone specific that you want me to use as a reference for a character, I'm fine with that.

Yes I will draw fanart of any sort!! That includes fanart with all your headcanons!! (with ample reference) Just lemme know B)

The line between complex and simple background, at the end of the day, is up to my ruling, but for a general guideline: - No background: colors and/or gradients only, simple shapes and designs. No linework. - Simple background: concrete but not overly detailed. Does not especially matter where elements are coming from (if applicable). Ornate borders. - Complex background: detailed with heavy thought put into their design. Detailed linework. I will be doing a 70/30 rule. 70% character, 30% background. If i have to break out the perspective tool, it's complex. Refer to the examples for a general idea!!

Commission Process Rundown:

You go into my DMs and you say something like "hello! I would like to commission you for x, y, z!"

We talk over what you want, what you're looking for, how many characters, color or just lined, if you want shading, style, etc.

You give me a reference image if applicable.

I approve or deny the commission details and total up the price of your commission.

You confirm or deny the price and add or subtract any details to your order.

Upon your confirmation, I give you the link to my kofi or send you a paypal invoice (I would prefer kofi since it is easier and friendlier).

Once payment goes through, I start work on your commission at my next convenience!

I will send you a screenshot of the general sketch. You may change pose or any other detail at this stage. After your confirmation, I continue work.

I then send you a screenshot of the lines nearly finished. You may change minor details at this stage. If I made a mistake in design or otherwise, please let me know and I will be more than happy to fix it. If lines is all you asked for, then I will screenshot one last time once it's done, you confirm any last tweaks, and then I will send you the final image file!! I will ask if you want it to be a transparent image/blank background/specific color background/etc.

If that's the end of your commission details then yay!! If not, the process repeats for the colors and/or shading stages.

I am super busy this week so didn't really have time to make any posts yesterday, but I still wanted to share a few reactions. First, just general/voice acting notes:

Jonathan's relief and reassurance in the sunlight was so heartwarming. Very sad as well - I can't help but dwell on how he has been forced into a largely nocturnal lifestyle - but overall, it just makes me happy anytime he is able to feel comforted by something (which doesn't immediately come back to bite him).

"Yes... there is a way," gave me ACTUAL CHILLS. I can hear so clearly the stakes at hand (life and death and more). Jonathan sounds cunning, resigned, he's flipping the script and it's creepy and it's very brave and it's very very cool!

His goodbyes....! I am sure everyone is saying it, but him starting and ending his farewells with Mina does brutal things to my heart. He loves her so much, so much. And the lighter music for just that bit, and the way he chokes up a little, I just -

"I looked down once, so as to make sure that a sudden glimpse of the awful depth would not overcome me, but after that kept my eyes away from it." That's so weirdly cute. Jonathan is very deliberately avoiding the classic 'don't look down (slips, looks down, freaks out)' moment by taking one intentional look and then just going, okay, that's done, moving on. It's a weird but seemingly effective way to handle it and kind of incredibly lovable.

"It was barely furnished with odd things, which seemed to have never been used;" - okay, but what were the 'odd things'? Is that just referring to the gold? Because the furniture he says is like other rooms so that doesn't feel odd, unless maybe it isn't typical bedroom furniture and that in itself was the oddity? ...maybe he has a weird statement piece couch or something?

The way Jonathan lingers when describing how Dracula's "lips were as red as ever." So creepy, so fascinated, feeling that same kind of draw that was in the vampire ladies scene. Love the voice acting so much.

Dracula sleeping with his eyes open is so so so creepy. God.

Second: gushing over Jonathan section

"I must take action of some sort whilst the courage of the day is upon me." - Jonathan is so brave. He is so scared, he is terrified... but he doesn't want to be ruled by his fear anymore. Ever since the encounter on May 16, he's been having more and more difficulty acting. He stopped exploring, gave up manipulating Dracula, and only waited for an opportunity to seek help when others came. And to an extent, that was all he could do, and being quiet and playing along is what's kept him alive until now, but last night he had to watch a grieving mother blame him for the death of her child right after he had to listen to her child dying and right before he heard her die (and all this after nearly being hypnotized again), and he wasn't able to do anything at all. He tried, he would have entirely given up on protecting himself for the sake of that child, but the locked door stopped him. And Jonathan is so determined today to take advantage of the rare sense of energy the sunlight has given him, he wants to get out of here and is willing to go to extreme measures to do so. He shoves away his gloomy fearful thoughts when they begin to resurface, and acts.

The way he acts, though. Sure, it's a wildly risky move - but I love how his brain works. Even now he reasons it out. Dracula bothers me at night -> maybe he sleeps during the day -> I can search for the key while he sleeps. Every time an objection would normally stop him he just refuses to accept it and thinks of some way past it. The door is locked -> well, the windows aren't. Even in his reckless state, willing to risk death, he still thinks things out.

(How good must it feel to be able to finally do something. But still he doesn't let himself get too carried away, tries to stay alert and on task.)

Case in point: in the room, he takes his time to look at all the coins. He looks at the dates on them too; great attention to detail. He is primarily searching for a key but whenever he sees a possible significant item or clue he devotes proper attention to it. So diligent.

Same thing in the chapel! "Then I went over every inch of the ground, so as not to lose a chance." Jonathan is always so thorough, I love it. He would have searched all the vaults despite his fear if it weren't for stumbling across Dracula. As it was, he was still pretty darn thorough! He even counted every single box Dracula'd had delivered - fifty in all.

And even after his super creepy encounter with the Count... when Jonathan goes back to his room he first "tried to think." Tried to think! Sure, to an extent that may be code for 'tried to stave off a panic attack' but even then it still speaks to his priorities and goals. Yes, that was extremely traumatic and he is terrified and has just completed his second death-defying freestyle wall climb of the day, but Jonathan has clues now and so he's gonna try to think! He's gonna focus on details! Literally, since he starts his entry with: "I must put down every detail in order." It's just what he does, but for the first time in a long time he has new data to work with.

But not long left to do so.

(Oh, I like this ask! Here's a tentative summary for the Erik fic, Borgholms fyr:)

Simon is 15 when he first meets Erik, Crown Prince of Sweden. He is spending his summer as the lowest employee at a hotel in Öland, not far from the Royal family's summer residence. Unexpectedly they develop a connection that draws Simon in. Borgholms fyr becomes their refuge, where Erik doesn't have to be the heir to the throne, and Simon doesn't have to be the son of a an immigrant and a drug addict. If only they could spend all their days there.

Seven years later, Erik has already been dead for four years. How is Simon supposed to keep living while pretending that they never happened? And what happens when the new Crown Prince, Erik's lillebror, suddenly starts spending his days at the lighthouse, his and Erik's place!, imposing himself on Simon in his need for answers and understanding and closure?

(It turns out I've been writing the fun parts... Oops. I almost forgot I had written this scene. Thanks for making me find it. Here, have some angst!)

"But you promised...?" The hurt tone in Simon's voice cuts right to the bone. His eyes seek out Wille, and Wille knows that look. He is disappointed. In Wille. Wille's heart starts picking up pace. He is a disappointment. Wille is nothing but a disappointment. He can hear his mother's voice resonnating through him from countless encounters throughout his life. 'You are a failure.' 'Can you not for once try to get something right?' 'Stop that, you're embarrassing me.' 'You only know how to pick the wrong ones, don't you?' He tries to catch his breath, but it's getting more difficult. At what point in his life was he not a disappointment? Breath in, breath out. Come on!

"I- I know. I just... I can't." He gasps for breath now, but Simon either doesn't notice or he doesn't care.

"Just know one thing: if you do that, if you deny what we are, then you're just like him!" Simon is right out hissing now, and Wilhelm knows just what he is saying. But Simon isn't supposed to say this kind of shit, isn't supposed to be this cruel. And in his chest something uncoils, and an unnamed anger is stirring, competing with his anxiety over control.

"Well, maybe I am!" The words are out before he can stop them. "Maybe I am just like Erik, and so what!?" His words are weapons, and he throws them at Simon. "Being like Erik is what everyone wants from me, it is all anyone ever wants from me, what they expect. 'Why aren't you more like Erik?' 'Erik didn't behave like this, why can't you act more like him?' Every fucking day since I was four years old I've been compared to Erik. Charming, well behaved, perfect Erik!" He pierces Simon with his gaze. He wants to hurt him, just like Simon hurt him a mere moment ago.

First of all, I wanted to say that I love your analysis of the novel mdsz, so if it's not too much trouble, I wanted to ask you what do you think would have happened if after WWX's resurrection, he didn't want to go to Gusu with LWJ? I mean, it is known from canon that WWX using mo xuanyu's identity to try to escape from JC and LWJ said he wanted to be with LWJ and LWJ immediately takes him to Gusu and given that is not the case how would LWJ try to be close to

I think your ask might have been sent a little earlier than intended, as the last sentence seems to have cut off. But I think I can gather what you wanted to ask. So let's take a look at the scene you're referring to:

“Thank you for being so enthusiastic. However, your thoughts are quite off. Even if I am attracted to men, I don’t like just any type of man, much less follow anyone who waves at me. For example, I’m not interested in ones like you.” Wei WuXian was purposely trying to disgust him. Jiang Cheng had always hated being defeated while compared with others, no matter how pointless the comparison was.

Chapter 10 ExR translations

WWX is trying to disgust JC to the point he would leave him alone. He's already gathered JC holds a lot of animosity towards him regardless of whether he is actually WWX or just someone who cultivates the same path as him. In order to escape, WWX decides to scare both men off by using MXY's apparent reputation.

“Which type? Well, I am very much attracted to people like HanGuang-Jun.” Lan WangJi could not tolerate this sort of frivolous and foolish joke at all. If he felt disgusted, he would definitely draw a line between them and keep his distance. Disgusting two people at once—this was killing two birds with one stone! However, as Lan WangJi heard this, he turned around. His face was emotionless, “Mark your words.” Wei WuXian, “Hmm?” Lan WangJi turned back, speaking in a mannerly yet resolute way, “I will take this person back to the Lan Sect.”

Wei WuXian, “...”

Wei WuXian, “...Huh?”

So if WWX hadn't put the theatrics on and said that HGJ was his type, he probably wouldn't have been able to escape JC. As such, JC would have attempted to take WWX back to Lotus Pier - which is where I think another fight would have ensued between JC and LWJ. I think it's quite clear from this chapter, that it is well known JC imprisons and tortures anyone he suspects of being WWX or even dares to emulate his techniques and cultivate the ghost path (guidao). As such, I think it's safe to assume LWJ is also aware of this and he would simply not allow such things to happen. LWJ has already proven he was willing to fight JC to protect WWX when he shielded him from JCs initial attack with Zidian, and I think he'd do it again without hesitation.

Technically WWX never agreed to go back to Gusu with LWJ. He tried to escape (apparently.. but personally I think his efforts were rather half-hearted!) and then he made a scene outside the entrance to the Cloud Recesses, in an attempt to get himself thrown out.

Lan WangJi stood still in front of the entrance, turning a deaf ear to him, and watched the scene with an indifferent look. When Wei WuXian’s voice had somewhat quieted, he spoke, “Let him cry. When he becomes tired, drag him inside.” Wei WuXian hugged the donkey and cried even harder, bumping his head against it.

I have to say, I just love the absolute poetry of LWJ practically dragging WWX back to Gusu in his second life, while his requests for WWX to do so in his first life were always rebuffed! So I think that even if "MXY" hadn't announced LWJ was his type, LWJ would have taken WWX back to the Cloud Recesses nevertheless. Yes LWJ took what WWX said teasingly and ran with it - which is completely adorable. It's the first time we see LWJ counter WWX by teasing him back! But even if WWX hadn't given him the opening to say he was going to take him back to Gusu, I think he would have just announced his intentions anyway. He was trying to warn off JC and protect WWX - and this was the best way to do so. By doing this he would be able to keep WWX safe and out of JCs reach.

Personally I think LWJ does not trust JC in the slightest and is very concerned he would seek WWX out if he let him go off alone after this encounter. Considering JC led the first siege against WWX at the Burial Mounds, it's no surprise he's very protective of WWX when JC is around. Even if LWJ wasn't aware of the rumours regarding JCs penchant for torturing anyone remotely reminding him of WWX, LWJ is still going to hold some resentment towards him. Which is why I think LWJ also prevents WWX from running away during the start of their investigation, when he is still playing the part of "MXY", because he is worried something will happen to him or JC will catch him. LWJ's concerns are very much justified later in the novel as well! Even if his method of protecting WWX is questionable.

His entire leg was covered with the black bruise of the Curse Mark. After staring at it for a while, Lan WangJi spoke in a bitter voice, “... I only left for a few hours.”

Chapter 25

The first time he allows WWX to go off alone, he comes back supporting a curse mark on his leg and a whip mark on his ankle, having escaped JCs clutches once again! We can see from the above that seeing WWX in this condition has upset him. He can't bear to see WWX hurt, even if it is just a minor curse mark and a whip from Zidian.

Granted, WWX is more than capable of looking after himself and LWJ does not want to restrict WWXs movements if he can help it. But he has felt the pain of losing WWX once before and that's bound to affect him both mentally and emotionally. Which I think we begin to see rather clearly during the above chapter. As such, he is extra cautious when it comes to WWX's second chance at life.

To answer your question, if WWX had somehow managed to escape JCs clutches in a different way and LWJ thought he was going to be safe - he might not have done anything at all. If LWJ was absolutely sure JC would not pursue WWX and cause him any harm, I think he would have left WWX to live his second chance at life however he wished. As much as LWJ loves WWX, he doesn't want to force anything on him - he did that once before with the stolen kiss and he felt terrible for doing so afterwards. As such, I don't think LWJ would have tried to get close to WWX if things hadn't transpired the way they did on Dafan Mountain.

LWJ would just be happy as long as WWX was safe and well. If WWX did not want LWJ to be a part of his second chance at life, LWJ would respect that. Obviously LWJ wants to be with WWX whatever way we can (romance being the absolute ideal), but he loves him so much he wouldn't restrain him or force himself upon him. The last thing he wants to do is repeat what his father did to his mother.

Thankfully the minute WWX is given the choice of whether or not to stay with LWJ, even before he is no longer playing the part of "MXY", he still chooses to return to him. It doesn't take WWX long to release that he is very happy to have LWJ around and he wants nothing more than him to be a part of his life also 💕

Hi thankyou for writing very informative analysis on GK!my first encounter with your posts is looking up their heights and then the army rankings in order of our beloved characters. While I try to avoid spoilers, I have already heard from a friend that the manga ending is rushed..

if you are following the anime to s4 is Asirpa's feeling for sugimoto as obvious in the anime compared to the manga? [I'm so far an anime only and will start s3 soon. I also am reading the manga up to Sapporo hotel arc]

Do you know how it's profitable for publishers to rush their artists when obviously it's fans are still willing to buy more of their comics.. like extend their contracts perhaps.. I felt quite sad for how some animes turned out and would hate for GK to go that route

Lol is it possible for Noda to draw Canon extras on his blog of GK despite the end of the manga? Or is he also present in the anime direction? I heard that if he was given more chapters to write, he would be able to elaborate on the character's choices in the ending so hopefully hes got a say in the anime.

Lastly, do you think S5 is the season finale based on the pace? I love to bingewatch shows.

Welcome in the GK world!

If possible the anime (especially in the first 2 series) made Asirpa's feelings for Sugimoto even more obvious than they were in the manga, people who were strongly against the idea of an eventual Sugi/Ripa endgame complained about it more than once.

For start it cut completely Umeko's role (in the manga Umeko was declared in the early chapters as the woman Sugimoto loved) and started giving Sugimoto and Asirpa more space, from ep 16 in which Sugimoto picks up Asirpa in his arms to take her away from Hijikata to an huge expansion of the scene in which they hid in deer skins in Ep 17 to the ending theme of the second series with Asirpa with her hand on Sugimoto's heart, to the finale itself in which Asirpa, who normally doesn't believe in dreams, dreams Sugimoto and believes it's a dream sent to her by the gods and in her dreams Sugimoto tells her the things he wanted to tell her as if they were having a mental connection, a scene that's not in the manga.

Part of the criticism though didn't steem just by people hating the Sugi/Ripa but also by how the second season cut a lot of scenes from the manga to then add this sort of scenes which weren't in the manga and seemed to promore the Sugi/Ripa agenda.

Season 3 and 4 were closer to the manga so didn't got as much criticism.

It's unknown if Noda was rushed by his editor or not. It might be he was bored or got worned out by GK. Or it might be he didn't even realize his work felt rushed, maybe he only wanted to make it fast paced and... well, it didn't quite work.

Of he just did wrong his math, he wanted to end the story at Vol 31 (due to one of the possible reading for 31 being Saichi, Sugimoto's name) but created too many sideplots he had to solve so he had to rush.

This is actually a concrete possibility as the last volumes are REALLY big because they also contain more chapters than usual when he could have instead just put in them less chapters and made one more volume.

Since GK was a successfull manga I honestly find hard to believe Noda was pressured to end it unless there was some problem I know nothing about.

Anime are a different matter as in the last years their main source of income are often the dvd so they're often kept short (12 episodes) in order to sell the dvd quickly and efficently.

I doubt Noda will have time to draw canon extras on his blog, as he's working on another manga. The most he might do is drawing extra illustrations.

Who knows, maybe extra might be drawn if he were to take part to some other GK project.

I don't really know how much involved he is in the anime I've heard he was consulted for some things but, as a mangaka, Noda is already pretty busy on his own so I don't know if he would have the time to get involved more... and I've my doubts on him wanting to expant the anime ending. It's of course not impossible but I'm not sure he would be interested in it.

Currently the anime covers till half of Vol 25. This would mean 6 volumes and a half are missing... but we could also say 7 volumes since as I said the last volumes are bigger than the others.

The remaining arcs are losely 3, the Hokkaido one, the Fort Goryokaku one and the train ride one.

If the anime has 12 episodes, it means 4 episodes for each arc, if they increase the episode number (season 4 has 13 episodes so 12 isn't a given) and let's say go at 15, it would make 5 episodes for each arc.

It's possible to fit everything in, though if we fit everything well or in a rushed manner is up to the authors. Brain's base to me looked better than Geno studio so they could make it... because splitting those 3 arcs in 2 series seems too long to me.

Of course an even better solution could be put 2 arcs in the anime and the final arc in a movie... but I think they're more likely to keep everything in one anime.

Due to Geno Studio's anime poor quality as far as I know the GK anime isn't super popular and it would be hard for a movie to attrack enough audience so it's likely the next series is the final one.

Still, that's just me and I might be wrong so take this with a grain of salt.

Ask game! Lucius and Pete! I’m curious about your thoughts on their how relationship is presented in other works. I love how you write them!

when I started shipping it if I did:

Literally as I was writing Baby, I'm Amazed. I hadn't given them much thought, but I knew I wanted to write Lucius' POV (it was only a few weeks post s1 airing at that point) and realized that would require giving Pete some background. Once I started writing them, their charm together became clearer to me and then I was wed to the idea.

my thoughts:

On the show, they are a fun couple! They might be the only canon couple with virtually no drama, but they also don't have very much screen time together. This is a case where background acting does a lot of heavy lifting because their quiet interactions in scenes where they're not even in focus really filled in my perception of them.

What makes me happy about them:

They're just people! I love how 'just dudes' they are. They both learn and change and grow from being in a group situation and also from finding each other. Pete erasure. I will happily read stories where Lucius is paired with someone else, but it does make me a little sad when there is no explanation for Pete at all. Some of my fave Lucius stories have no Pete in them at all, so I don't hold it against anything, but I do prefer when Lucius' polyamory is left intact and Pete is still in the picture, even if he's not featured.

things I look for in fanfic:

Happy poly Lucius and Pete, who have a great relationship. Pete giving Lucius a kiss and a pat on the ass as he goes off to seduce Izzy is the Platonic Ideal. If that sounds familiar, let it be known that I write what I want to see in the world.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

Obviously, I'm a Lucius/Izzy shipper (though I am always down for some Izzy filling in a Lucius/Pete sandwich). And hey Izzy/Pete on their own is hot too. I like either/both of them with Fang.

My happily ever after for them:

Married with a woodworking business for Pete and Lucius 'works' in the shop, but mostly gets to draw and live his best life as a kept man of a mildly successful small business owner.

who is the big spoon/little spoon:

They sleep facing each other, not just in canon, but in my heart. Pete's head tucks under Lucius' chin. If they do spoon, I think they take turns, depending on who is chillier in the moment. Pete likes to rub Lucius' stomach if he's big spoon, because it usually means Lucius is under the weather.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity:

In Leda verse, it's watching HGTV and critiquing everyone's choices (despite having very little happening intentionally design-wise in their room.) In Credit verse, they like board games and Izzy finds himself their unwilling, then very willing if over the top competitive, third player.

The Starry Love ep 25, 26 thoughts

YOUQIN IS BACK. I don't need to say anything else...JUST KIDDING.

Fair warning though: Most of this LONG post is fawning over Youqin. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The beginning of ep 25 made me so tense. Girl, just tell them before things escalate--too late.

Gotta hand it to Qingheng. He knows how to end things with a bang! (evil smile) I love this.

MY EMOTIONS! This is the beginning of the end of the soul shard arc and I'm conflicted. I love these 3 and my heart breaks when they learn the truth. But then Youqin is going to come back. Let's get through these tears, guys! (reaches for a tissue)

Chaofeng and Qingkui really should just run away and start a family away from the Void realm. They could have the happy ending they freaking need. I can see that happening! Let's make it reality. P.s. Bring Haichou

Every time that guy with a moustache shows up: Aren't you supposed to be dead? Was that explained earlier?

The two baby-faced Immortals show up and this their backup? No. The true backup is the soul shards! 3 men protecting their woman? That's romantic.

Once again Youqin is doing a selfless sacrifice: his soul shards give up themselves for her. This getting to be a very bad habit!

Youqin is coming back!!!!!!! My Immortal Turtle! He's got the same deadpan expression and he's still powerful. Phew!

Dingyun just died? I didn't expect that moment of sacrifice from someone like him.

I am legit, no lie, crying. Those 3 saying goodbye breaks my heart. Excuse me a moment while I sob in the corner.

Yay…Youqin has no emotions! The Immortal Realm will be rejoicing tonight. Bring out the wine.

Between you and me, the turtle DEFINITELY has his emotions and he's in love with her. Those eyes don't lie. And Yetan is in love with him no doubt.

I never liked the Immortal Emperor. It was his constant constipation face that irked me and that fact that he's willing to throw his son to the Guixu because "he's earned it".

I knew he remembered everything, and he knows Yetan's true identity. I'm just an emotional mess right now!

Admittedly I put off any attachment to Chaofeng and Qingkui because Youqin was coming back, but now that he is back, I can say: the Void couple are super cute. I wish them happiness no matter short it is.

Short complaint: Heavenly/Immortal clothes are boring as hell. It's just pastels and various shades of white. They do this all the time with fantasy dramas. (shakes head) Come on, let's do something different. But this clothes-changing-scene is adorable. Poor dragonfly guy, he can never win.

(gasps) The hugs! My heart is rollercoaster: first, the tears now the heart palpitations from the adorableness radiating off the Immortal couple! And he's Immortal Turtle, but out his shell. (I will keep this analogy up for as long as I darn well, please. And yes, I wish I could have thought of turtle references for Foxy and Greed, but I couldn't.)

It's going to be impossible for our lovebirds to keep their dates a secret. Youqin is doing a terrible job at keeping his emotions in check, now that he has them. And Yetan has literally never been doted on, so you know she loves this.

I totally see the 3 shards in the new Youqin. He's a mixture of all 3 and still has some traces of the old turtle. Again, Chen Xingxu does a phenomenal job playing so many different characters.

The Void Queen is going after Chaofeng and the Void gang. Haichou is trying to do the right thing by keeping all news from his friend, but Chaofeng is still the little schemer. I bet he'll sneak out and draw the army away from Qingkui or something like that.

Hello! Apologies for the late reply, with the weather warming up here, I am spending less time on the computer and more time trying to domesticate my absolutely feral flower beds.

As for your question, I think Obi-Wan would basically turn to look at Anakin like this

"This is your fault!"

But more seriously, I think his reaction would really depend on when the realization took place. In a No Order 66 AU directly post Siege of Mandalore, I think he would be more Disappointed Jedi Master Kenobi than anything, though that would probably also depend on whether or not Anakin almost (or actually) Fell.

If he had, then I think Obi-Wan would actually be much more willing to “turn the other cheek” so to speak, seeing as he had just been staring down the reality of losing his best friend to the Dark Side because Anakin didn’t think he could confide in Obi-Wan about his relationship (or in my Obikin shipper heart, about his feelings in general). So in that instance, I think Obi-Wan would be much more willing to try to understand Ahsoka and Maul’s relationship, mostly due to the fact that he feared if he drove her away, he would be driving her to the Dark Side.

Now, in a more lighthearted world, I imagine it would basically be like that scene in Teen Wolf were the father finds his daughter making out with A Terrible Life Decision (in his eyes, I loved Isaac) and summons her into his office (”Where I keep my guns”) for us to hear him yell “ANOTHER WEREWOLF?” offscreen (though in this case it would be “A SITH LORD?”). Ahsoka, however, would be unrepentant, and this would probably lead to Obi-Wan and Anakin finding her and Maul making out in every shadowy corner, Force help them.

However, because you asked and because I like some crunch to my headcanons, I think my favorite AU would be one where Ahsoka contacts Obi-Wan about her and Maul’s plan to defeat Sidious, thus having him go to them instead of confronting Anakin on Mustafar. But they’re too late, and the Purge still happens, forcing the trio to flee together. They keep moving, dodging the newly formed Empire, and all the while, Obi-Wan watches Ahsoka and Maul circle each other, slowly drawing nearer and nearer. He tries to talk to Ahsoka, to caution her, but she is still bitter and angry at the Council’s willingness to sacrifice her. And Obi-Wan, still raw and bleeding from the loss of Anakin, watches helplessly as another person he cares about - another person he loves, even though he’s not supposed to - steps farther away from the path he has dedicated his entire life to.

That’s not to say I don’t think he’d ever come around. I think that once Obi-Wan saw that Maul actually cared for Ahsoka, that he was willing to put his life on the line to protect her and that he was actually moving closer to the Light because it, he would start to be able to untangle his own feelings from the rules he was raised to follow. This is the man that petitioned to accept Quinlan Vos back into the Order, the man who stood smiling beside Anakin in the Force even after being felled by his blade. Once Maul began to prove to Obi-Wan that he was not seeking to do Ahsoka harm, or pull her to the Dark Side for the sake of his own power, I think Obi-Wan would begin to accept that Ahsoka, like her Master, forged her own path in the world, and no one could dissuade her from it.

Irusakiran’s sword - The Mourning Rose Snippet

It’s been so long since I’ve posted a longer piece! So, have a scene from one of the flashbacks embedded in the novel, that recount the time Anaichi spent in Niallen’s care. Here they have just finished their morning training in the snow, and Anaichi is the demonic equivalent of thirteen/fourteen years old.

“I have taught you how to defend yourself. Against a normal enemy, I am sure you would win. Against a formidable opponent, I am certain you can survive,” Niallen says, and her speech is formal, ancient, like a Great-Aunt. “Now, do you want to learn how to attack? How to kill? I am willing to teach you, because I trust you won’t misuse my teachings.”

Anaichi thinks of the battlefield, of his parents’ nonviolent stance and the way the War had swallowed them up. He thinks of Ichimoru, wounded and dying in his arms. “I want to learn,” he says firmly.

Taking both Niallen’s hands in his own (still smaller, but not by far) the demon pulls up a serious face and repeats the promise she had asked of him before they began training. Back then, he had been a child and hardly understood; now, he knows his own strength and his capacity for hurting others. “I promise I’ll never use this knowledge for personal gain. That I will raise my sword only to protect, and I’ll never be the first to. And, that I’ll look for other solutions before I fight.”

Niallen nods carefully. Her gaze is soft on him, a little wet, and her fingers squeeze his wrists twice before she lets go. “Then, I have something for you.”

She reaches into the folds of her tunic and draws out a black dagger so ripe with power Anaichi has to wonder how she has managed to shield it all within her clothes. “This is Irusakiran’s saber,” she tells him gravely. “The angel-killer.”

The boy takes it carefully in his hands, studying the beautiful decorations engraved on the hilt, the single hint of white shining on the very tip of the blade. If he squints, he can make out the shape of two rampant dragons, meeting where pommel meets metal, curled around a winged person.

“A saber?” he whispers.

Niallen hums her assent and reaches out two fingers to brush tenderly across the blade. Between one blink and the next, Anaichi finds himself holding on to a long, gently sloping saber, carved with a string of white symbols along the curve.

“This weapon will adapt itself to your needs. It can be a bow, a spear, a staff, a knife. Anything you want.”

Anaichi looks thoughtfully down at it. “What does it mean, angel-killer? You said angels were just a story.”

The magician’s lips lift in the hint of a smile. She pats his head and spends a few seconds fixing his high ponytail, then wraps an arm around his shoulders, drawing him closer. “It means this saber saved the world, once.”

Silently, Anaichi absorbs the information. He traces his index finger along the contours of the little engraved figures (Irusakiran, Hanasiranae and Starblessed between them) and nods. “Can you make it into a dagger again, please?”

Niallen’s smile turns wistful as he caresses the saber and shrinks it. “He used to keep it like this, too.”

Unsure how to reply to that, the boy quiets, and watches as the snowflakes whip about into the air without ever touching them, melting at Niallen’s bidding. There’s always a sense of melancholic peace around their tiny corner of the mountains, sweet and pervasive like a hot drink before bed; in his life of Before, Anaichi wouldn’t have dreamed of finding a home in this silence. He used to be rowdy and careless and unapologetic, thunderous in his anger and explosive in his joy, but now, without his brother’s steady presence to soothe him, he is content with Niallen’s soft, meditative existence, her tender care and rigorous training.

He feels the magician’s cold touch at his shoulders and turns to meet her gaze. Niallen beams at him, apparently over her moment of deep sadness, and sheaths the dagger, folding Anaichi’s fingers tightly over it. “From now on, it will respond to you and you only. I will teach you how to harness its power, and Irusakiran’s wisdom,” she says seriously. “Trust it, and it will protect you.”
