You and Mizu have gone to a couple of "dates", which all were just hanging out at or around the aquarium. Oh, and you once came to watch one of her games, but that's it. It's a very confusing relationship in Mizu's eyes.
For a while she already thought you two were dating, but Akemi quickly educated her on the wonderful world of talking stages. That day, Mizu decided that talking stages were her worst enemies. How are you not her girlfriend yet? It's not fair.
Akemi and Taigen only seen you once, and they were both intoxicated, and Ringo hasn't even met you, only in passing, so it's obvious they'd want to meet the person their grumpy friend is spending most of her time with. So Akemi arranges a beach hangout, and starts bugging Mizu about bringing you along, with "Come onnn, don't you wanna see her in a bikini?" typa comments.
Mizu, even though the last time you hung out with Akemi and Taigen it turned out very much embarassing to her, gives in after a while.
After a brief text exchange which Mizu floods with horrible memes, just to ease her own anxiety, you say yes, and now here we are.
Mizu is setting up her little fortress of peace in the sand, which is a big, soft blanket with a parasol guarding her from the sun. Her usual shades sit on her nosebridge. Her choice of swimwear is made of a pair of dark blue swimming trunks with rubber ducks all over it, and a bikini top that looked eerily like her usual sports bra. You on the other hand were...running late.
Ringo sat down next to her and offered her a muffin from the big bag he packed full of food, while Akemi and Taigen started to splash eachother in the water.
"You're more quiet than usual." Ringo comments with a slight smile, munching on a muffin himself. Mizu sighs and takes a bite of hers.
"It's stressful." She says with a shrug. "We're close, very close...but somehow not close enough. Like...how do you ask someone to be your girlfriend?" Mizu says to her bestfriend, looking up at the big guy from under her shades.
Ringo purses his lips as she stares ahead, thinking about it. "Say..."Will you be my girlfriend?" I think that would work." Mizu facepalms.
"Well, yeah, obviously, dumbass." She says, throwing her head back with a groan. "But the other stuff. Like...atmospehere, timing, mood...and how do I know she likes me enough to make that step?" She rambles. "It's obvious I like her, I told her I loved her once! What if she thinks I'm desperate? I mean, yeah I am...but I don't want her to know."
Ringo looks back at her, like she just confused his little brain even more, which she did. "Then wait for her to ask?" He suggest, and before Mizu could answer and tell him that it would be a terrible idea, because what if you never ask, you arrive, almost on cue.
You are...indeed wearing a bikini. And Jesus Christ, Mizu's breathing almost stops alltogether. Yeah, she slept with you once, and saw more intimate parts of your body than your belly button and cleavage, but this is different. You have your heart shaped sunglasses covering your eyes. She remembers those glasses, and she can feel her stomach twist in a not-so-bad way. She gives you sublte little wave as you approach, but before you could get to her, Ringo raids you.
"Woah, hey! I'm Ringo! You must've heard a lot about me from Mizu, since I'm her number one friend! I'm sure we'll get along great!" He chirps excitedly. Mizu needs to hold back the urge to burry herself in the sand and never come out. But to her surprise, you just laugh.
"How charming! Hey to you too, Ringo." You shake his nub. Mizu noticed that you find a lot of things cute and charming that Mizu would find cringe or lame. Maybe because you're more easy going. You walked to Mizu's little fortress, and offered her a smile. "And hey to you, hermit." You chuckled, kneeling on her blanket. Miz could feel her heartbeat fasten, having you so close. She should've gotten used to it by now, but she was convinced she never will.
"Hey." She said with a small, almost unnoticalbe smile. "You look...good." She complimented you, her gaze falling to your breasts for half a second, but her shades were keeping her safe.
"Thanks. Got this one just a week ago." You say, slightly pulling at you bikini top's strap. "You don't look halfbad yourself." You say playfully, then grab a beachball from the mountain of bags placed next to the blanket. "You know how to play?" You look at Ringo, then back at her. Ringo nods enthuistacally, and Mizu shrugs. Of course she knows how to play. She is in the school's basketball team, she is very good at ball games, but she needs to stay humble. That's hot, right?
"We need one more player though to make it even." You say, and just like that, as if smelling a challenge, Taigen appears.
"Well, lucky for you," He starts, putting his fist on his chest. "The champion has arrived." Mizu rolls her eyes, and you just gasp dramatically. Akemi sits down on the blanket. "You go ahead, I'll be the judge I guess."
And with that, the match if the decade started. You were on a team with Taigen, and Mizu teamed up with Ringo. She wanted to be on the same team as you, but Taigen snatched you up first. That bastard.
"Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you're pretty." Mizu says, warming up her shoulders on the other side of the web.
"Complimenting me won't save your ass." You tease back with a wink.
"Wait, no, that's not what-" Mizu suddenly realized the meaning of her words, but before she could try and ramble herself out of it, the game started with Taigen serving. It went all well, since Mizu could block all of Taigen's hits, but when you were the one sending the ball her way? The woman froze.
Everyime you jumped up to hit the ball, your whole body bounced, especially that part that she couldn't take her eyes off of. The little victory punch you gave to the air after you scored, the way your hair stuck to your forehead because you started sweating, and the way you threw yourself at the ground to catch the ball last minute, making your soft body squish against the sand...it mesmerized Mizu.
It was obvious you took the game seriously, but sadly not as seriously as Taigen, who basically started beating his chest like a gorilla when he scored. The strategy was simple: Ringo would take your hits, and Mizu would block and eliminate Taigen's. It all went jolly for a good while of the game, until your bikini top slipped, revealing your underboob. You though nobody noticed, so you quickly pulled it back into place, But someone did notice. And that someone couldn't focus on anything else during the rest of the game.
The results came out with you and Taigen on top, but only by two points. It was infuriating as hell to watch Taigen give you a double high five, but you looked happy, and that made Mizu content. She was watching the scene, until Ringo nudged her.
"Now. Mood, and uh...vibe! All good. Do it now." He tried to whisper, but he was really excited. It took Mizu a moment to realize what he was talking about, and when she did, she gave him a determined nod. She marched to you, her cheeks burning, and a frown on her face that could be described as angry, but it was just a sign of her taking this seriously.
"You did good." She says, lifting her shades off her face, putting them up into her hair.
"Thanks. You two weren't bad either. You just decided to play against champions." You shrug playfully.
"So uh...I saw an ice cream booth over there. I could buy you one as a winning prize, or something." She offers, shoving one of her hands into the pocket of her swimming trunks. Her voice came out breathy, on one part from just finishing the game, and on the other...well...
"Free ice cream? Hell yeah!" You say enthusiastically, and get going. Mizu just follows you. Taigen stays there, looking confused for a second.
You stand there, staring at the different flavours of ice cream. "Mmm...I think I'll go with mint chocolate chip." You say, tilting your head, still considering it. "Or bubblegum!"
"You could get both." Mizu shrugs. You're very particular about your icecream, it seems. It's good to know. If she manages to score another date with you, she'll bring you to a pastry shop instead of an aquarium.
"Really? Awsome!" You celebrate to yourself. "What are you getting?" You ask, leaning closer to her. Mizu gulps.
"I'll just...have vanilla." She says, doing her damn best not to look at your lips that are so close. She whishes she could be on that level with you where casual kisses are a thing.
"Vanilla? Well that's a little...boring." You chuckle. "I think you'd like coconut." You say, pointing at the similar colored ice cream. The fact that you're comfortable enough to decide what could she like is so...so...
"Yeah, sure." Mizu shrugs again. She pays for the icecream, but doesn't start walking back to the others yet. "Here," She starts walking towards the part of the shore where big rocks could give some privacy. You follow her, kitty-licking your ice cream. That movement reminds her---fuck. Why is she acting like a hormone filled twelve year old?
As she stares at you while walking, you're staring at the water. She follows your gaze, and starts watching the water too. The waves and the foam splash against the sky, and the clouds hover above, now lightly pink and orange tinted from the sun almost setting.
Suddenly, you point at the sand: you spotted a jellyfish that got thrown out by the water. "Look!" You rush to it, and crouch down by it's side. "Do you think it's still alive. It's still wet."
"Yeah, like me when I'm near you." is what Mizu wants to say, but instead she just follows you. "I'dunno." You seem to worry about the jellyfish, which is...sweet. It's just a jellyfish to Mizu, but to you? It's already named Fred and has a twelve page backstory. Mizu, in an attemt to not let your mood get ruined, takes off her sunglasses, and places them on the jellyfish.
"Damn. I think he's still alive, he seems pretty fresh to me. Drippy, even." Mizu snorts, and you push her, making her land on her butt as you laugh with her.
"Oh my god...you're horrible." You say, your beautiful smile returning. Even if she landed on her ass, a win is a win. Mizu takes back her shades and throws the jellyfish back in the water.
Mizu then takes a deep breath. She looks at you, her blue eyes shining in the orange-ish light. She steps closer, and lightly takes your hand. She wants to make it seem like it's a casual thing, but her heart is drumming against her ribcage. She then pushes her already melting icecream close to your lips. "Wanna taste?" She ask.
You chuckle. She's adorable. You lean closer, and take a big lick off her treat. You notice that the white ice cream has already melted to her hand. You lightly take her wrist. "You're so messy." You say teasingly and start licking the ice cream off her fingers. Mizu's breath hitches as she watches your tongue work on her skin, licking her lips unconsciously.
"You're so fucking beautiful like that." She blurts out, her other hand coming up to gently cup your cheek.
You smile up at her, licking up the cone. That was the greenlight you needed. You move your head up, and push your lips against her. You taste like coconut, as she opens her lips, inviting in your tongue. Her hand lands on your hips, leading you more behind a bigger rock, away from the all the prying eyes. She lightly grips the soft tissue on your hips, her fingers cautiously wandering towards your ass as you devour her lips. She slowly pushes you against the rock. You already ate your ice cream, and her's is melted completely, it's soggy cone laying alone in the sand as her hands move up to cup your breasts.
"I wanted to do this ever since that stupid match..." She murmurs into the kiss, her finger's finding your nipples through your bikini top.
You grin against her lips, slowly exchanging positions until her back is against the rock. You run your finger's along her skin, feeling up the exposed muscles. Her abs basically guided your hand along to trace their shape, then guided your hand downwards. You undid her swimming trunks and got on your knees before her.
Mizu looks at you, almost hypnotized by how good you look on your knees. Before she could react, you pull her trunks down, and teasingly lick her folds. Mizu pushes her palm against her lips to silence the loud groan that wanted to escape her lips. You chuckled against her flesh, closing your eyes as you started to do your work. Mizu's long, slender finger's got lost in your hair, keeping your head in place as she chewed on the inside of her cheek to hold back her noise.
She mumbles you name over and over, her hips lightly bucking into your mouth. "F-Fuck...fuck, I love you..." She blurts out in a half moan, half whine. Is it the best time to say it? Not really. But is that stopping her? No. She is too filled with passion and her feelings are bubbling over the edge. "I have loved you...f-for so long...p-please..." She whines silently. "I...I-I want you t'be mine..so damn bad...oh God..."
You look up at her, her juices dripping down your chin. You then suddenly stick out your tongue, pushing it inside her walls. Mizu bites into her palm to keep quiet.
"You're so fucking cute..." You mumble into her, repeatedly pulling and pushing your tongue in and out. Your nose rubs against her clit, making it hard to keep standing.
"M'gonna cum...f-fuck, keep going..." Mizu groans, bucking her hips even more into your mouth.
You can feel her walls clench around your tongue as she reaches her climax, holding your mouth open so her juices basically slip down your throat withouth swallowing. After she comes down from her high, you pull away, wiping your lips with the back of her hand, pulling her swimming trunks back into place. You get up from your kneeling position and give her a sloppy kiss.
"D'ya mean it?" You murmur into the kiss, your arms wrapping around her neck.
Mizu's lost in the kiss. She doesn't even think about the fact that she should be freaking out right now. "Meant every fucking word...I want to be your girlfriend." She says, her hands hugging your waist.
And with that...Mizu returned home that day a taken woman. She listened to the playlists she made you (psst!), and somehow heard every song in a new light.

Since the Oda and Adam duo post seems to have gone over well here are a couple other duos with potential that get rotated around in my brain after midnight:
Akutagawa and Aya - I've posted about this before. Continues the trend of unwilling and tired young adult begrudgingly looking out for a loud child who consistently runs headfirst into trouble. Bonus if he becomes so done with the situation that he just wraps her up in Rashoumon and carries her like that while Aya screams in outrage. (Bonus bonus: I think they could bond over the respective treatment they have endured at the hands of those who should've been proud of them.)
Lucy and Kyouka - No one thinks they'll get along and it looks like maybe they don't...? The energy is really awkward? But they still choose to spend time together? Actually, they like each other, and any awkwardness or harsh comments are only out of blunt factual observation (Kyouka) or obliviousness (Lucy). One day, they show up to work with matching accessories in their hair. (Also I think they'd be a great balancing act, personality wise. Lucy's very imaginative and Kyouka's quite grounded but both could really help each other regain some of their lost childhoods in that Lucy has lots of cool ideas she never got to do and Kyouka is bold enough to get both of them to try.)
Kyouka and Dazai - ENTIRELY self-indulgent. I want them to get into mischief together. I want Kyouka to show Dazai pictures of all the bunnies she pet. I want Dazai to encourage her into believing she can be good and supporting her no killing philosophy (with a sharp pang in his chest every time he sees her dedication and the serious look in her eyes) but then like. Show her how to commit minor crimes with no trace. He decides one day to take her to a festival and guilt trips Kunikida into letting them both go and Kunikida is forced to relent because aw, that's really sweet and then he turns around and his wallet is gone.
Fukuzawa and young Yosano - It's sad time. I really want to know how she adjusted. And yes, I like the idea of seeing how she was with Ranpo too but I really want to see her with Fukuzawa. He must've shown her the ropes. Helped her get her degree? Made her feel comfortable again and confident that she could heal and not just wound? It's just interesting to me because it would have to be a completely different approach to the one he took with Ranpo and he's not exactly a natural at parenting, much as he tries. I think there's nothing sweeter and more tragic than this man, a master swordsman and former assassin, who has decided fairly recently to open his heart to others, looking at this small, damaged child and thinking "I don't know how to help you." And then helping her anyways. As best he can.
Kunikida and Higuchi - The true "I am so exasperated with everyone in my workplace" duo. An omake introduced the concept that they vent to each other online and I think that's hilarious. They find out each other's real identities and panic for a moment and get hostile and then remember that this is the only other reasonably sane person they have spoken to in months and go get coffee and complain about their jobs.
Teruko and Atsushi - Okay, this one is actually possible. Not much to it other than I think they'd work really well together. They'd kick ass. They could kick my ass. I'd thank them for it. (Actually it's also got something to do with Teruko seeming jaded and older and Atsushi being the offset in that he's younger and naive but also something something she couldn't torture him because he went to go check on a child and something something they both made bodily sacrifices - Atsushi's many injuries and Teruko's surgical modifications - and repeatedly get hurt using their power to protect civilians... I want to know where her character is going because I don't think she's convinced by the DoA's mission and I think a part of her still wants justice... remains to be seen I guess.)

Well, thanks to @wicked1will0sparkles, I must give the context for Poppy's misdemeanor arson charge XD
And no, Wheezy was miraculously not involved! This was when Poppy was still new to Downtown.
~
The rabbit clutched onto her jacket tightly, chasing the small comfort it provided her as she walked down the streets of... Her new home. Though it felt more like a wasteland, with all the intimidating looking toons, the trash and broken glass littering the streets, and the occasional yelling or gunshot that would ring out and force her to pin her ears down to try to muffle the noise for her sensitive ears.
Poppy felt tears prick in her eyes as everything started to become so overwhelming to her. Or rather, everything was about to reach a boiling point after the week. Ever since Henry...
Choking back a sob, she rubbed her eyes dry again, having to try so hard not to cry right now. Why did he do this? Why did he take everything and deserted her? Did she do something wrong? Did she not love him enough? Did he need more money? Just-
Her thoughts were interrupted when she bumped into somebody. She didn't knock them down fortunately, but how did she not see them? When the toon looked down at her, a rat looking toon with an awful smell about him, the already frightened rabbit felt her heart leap to her throat, "I-I'm s-s-sorry sir. I d-d-didn't s-see-"
"Why 'ya shakin', doll? I ain't done nothin' to you." The rat shrugged before pulling a cigarette from between his teeth. That must have been the source of the smell, "'Ya look like you've seen a ghost."
She didn't know what to say then. Or rather, her brain was racing trying to figure out which answer she should give him. Apologize again? Say she didn't see a ghost? Stay silent? It was painfully obvious that she was a fish out of water to... Well, anybody who saw her now.
While she was anxiously staring uo at him, the rat toon sighed. There was something behind his dark eyes that she couldn't quite place at the moment, "A newbie, huh? Don't worry. Y'll get the hang 'a things soon enough."
Finally, prompted by his statement, Poppy was able to speak, "N-Newbie?"
"'Yer a washed up toon, right? Can't be a bad guy. Rabbits are 'nevah the baddies. Or 'didja get lost on 'yer way home?"
Oh. He was asking if she lived here, "... Th-The first thing... I-I live here..."
"Ah." The taller toon nodded plainly before taking a drag from his cigarette, "So your cryin' is only because of the scary Downtown area, or did somethin' happen?"
The exaggerated tone wasn't lost on Poppy. But at that moment, her thoughts went back to her ex, and she looked away from the rat, trying to hide her sad eyes and quivering lip, even though he had already seen them. Somehow... She didn't know why, but she found herself nodding, "Yes... T-To both..."
She didn't expect any sympathy. If her own parents didn't offer comfort, why would a stranger on the street want to make her feel better? God, why was she wasting this man's time? He probably had better things to do. She should just go-
"Damn. Must've been pretty bad to get 'ya so worked up."
Blinking, Poppy tilted her head back up to look at the taller toon. His words weren't the most emotionally moving, but... She could see a look of pity in his eyes. Was this stranger... Or was that just her hopeful thinking? Before she could reply though, he shrugged and muttered, "What the hell..." Before reaching into his pocket. Digging around for something.
She was quiet and watched him curiously. Though she grew slightly confused when he pulled out a lighter and a partially crushed cigarette pack. She tilted her head ever so slightly as he pulled out a fag and offered it to her, "'Ere. This'll put 'ya at ease. Can't stand to see people cry."
The rabbit's eyes widened, and she was just about to reject the kind offer. But then, before the words could form on her tongue, she stopped herself and thought about it. At the studio, she lost count of how many humans she saw smoking. She had seen plenty of toons with a cigarette or two, sometimes even multiple like that blue weasel she saw the other day. She had even caught her own mother with a smoke on occasion...
Sure, they smelled awful, but that didn't necessarily mean anything, right? Like... Like soap tasted bad, but it was good to use?? It didn't really make sense, in all honesty. But with a frazzled mind and heart, she needed all the help she could get. If this nice stranger told her this would help, maybe it would.
"Th-Thank you." She replied quietly, hesitantly taking the fag and inspecting it for a brief moment, before sticking it into her mouth and holding it with her lips. It already felt strange to her, and a part of her wanted to give it back, but the rat leaned in to light it up for her before she could ponder it. So now, she had to go through with it. She sucked in as big of a breath as she could...
"HACK-" The fresh cigarette flew out of her mouth as she bowled over and started coughing and wheezing. She didn't even notice the other toon jumping to the side. Her lungs felt like they were on fire! Her nose felt clogged, the taste was overpowering, and somehow it got into her eyes!? Why the heck would anybody smoke if this was how it felt???
"Jesus christ, lady!" The rat toon exclaimed. His eyes were wide, and he placed a hand on her back as she hacked painfully, "'It's fine, c'mon now."
It felt like forever until Poppy was able to stop coughing. Her throat was dry, her chest and abdomen were aching, and tears ran down her cheeks for a very different reason now. But she managed to stand back up straight now, holding onto the rats' free arm to stabilize herself. She wiped her eyes as he patted her on the back, "There 'ya go. 'Yer ok, yeah?"
She let out a small wheeze as she opened her mouth to respond, until an even stronger stench permeated her senses. Once she looked up and saw what was happening, Poppy practically jumped out of her skin and shrieked, "FIRE!?"
Somehow, someway, by the ironic and cruel ways that toons were designed, the still lit cig had landed onto a trashcan that was behind the rat. And right now, there was a fire that was growing bigger at a ridiculous pace.
"What- SHIT!" The toons eyes popped out of his skull when he saw what was happening. With no hesitation, the rat just gathered his things, only briefly glancing at Poppy to yell, "Don't just stand there!" Before he booked it towards the other direction. Leaving Poppy shocked and horrorfied at what she had accidentally done.
"W-Wait! Somebody!?" She looked out to the street desperately, but no one even glanced towards her direction now. Other toons either kept on walking, or they ran off as soon as they saw the fire. Having no idea what else to do, Poppy just ripped her jacket off of her shoulders and started trying to put out the fire herself.
...
"Though the fire didn't go out." Poppy explained as she tugged on the cloth of her sleeve, looking embarrassed as if she was just retelling a cringy story from her high school years, "I guess it was one of those toon fires that can only be put out by water... And there was a police car passing by that saw everything... I only spent a few days in the jail cells though, before everything was sorted out. I got pretty lucky, haha... Ever since then, I've sworn off cigarettes."
Looking back at her friends, she saw all five weasels staring at her in various forms of disbelief. Even Smartass' grip on her law records loosened enough where it looked like they would fall from his hands and onto the coffee table. Her brows furrowed in confusion and slight concern as she glanced between them all, "What?"
~
I'm out of steam, so I'm just gonna end this here. One things for certain, Wheezy won't ever let Poppy touch his cigarettes XD

I am so sorry for all this rambling. I'm genuinely just so pissed off. Like I'm scrolling thinking oh yes I'm almost at the end it couldn't possibly get any worse. Boy was I wrong. Make sure you're drinking enough water and getting enough rest. You deserve it after all this hard work you've been putting into this story. I think those sentences are the only positive things I've typed in this whole thing lol.
What does she want? I know that there's something that she wants out of this. "Not even your girlfriend." Lemme at her. Just one hit. Can I hit her just once? She's been fake from the very beginning. How'd Gojo fall for this girl? She seems like such a white lotus to me. Like, this girl seems so manipulative. Ain't no way she's no after anything. That seatbelt wasn't stuck and we all know it.
5 YEARS. I don't remember if it was mentioned before or not because my memory is garbage but 5 YEARS Gojo really? You're telling me that a crush from high school was stronger than a fully developed adult relationship that had been on for 5 YEARS? If that's what you're saying doesn't that mean that Rie was always at the back of his mind throughout his relationship with y/n? Did he ever give his while heart to y/n? I'm done with him. IDEC what happens to him anymore. I'm so sorry but where is Nanami? Y/N I beg please don't go back to him. It's not worth it. Also you're solution to not breaking y/n's heart was literally lying and hiding the fact that you cheated. Okie dokie. You deserve everything that's coming for you.
To make matters worse it wasn't even just the one kiss. They were like really going at it with each other they couldn't even breathe when they were done. I really thought it would've been just the one kiss but NOPE. Once again i hold no expectations for these hoes and yet I'm still disappointed. Their brains sure aren't working but we all know what is. I'm having an even harder time seeing them as in love with each other especially with how they got together. Rie honey you were horny. You literally said you hadn't had a man in years. Gojo was still feeling that flame from his youth when he had a crush on her.
I have to keep reminding myself that they're grown adults because everything they do is just so ridiculous. I'm about to give myself a neck injury from the number of times I've shaken my head. You "forgot" that you were in a hospital? Uh huh sure. You were so overcome by your emotions as usual. Just like you were on that night when you kissed a taken man.
Leave. Why do both of you insist on inserting yourselves in this? It's none of your business at this point. Rie you definitely have no connection to y/n when you literally went and stole her man. I've never seen a girl so shameless in all of my life. Gojo if you really want to help then go. That'll fix everything. Leave and never come back. No one will be mad. Why are you borderline stalking her. Let them be. (Is that a potential spark of love I'm seeing from Suguru 👀)
"Her surprise appearance was a reminder that no matter how much Satoru cares for you, she would still be the one inside his heart." Ma'am it's illegal to make my heart hurt this much with one line. Once again y/n baby please move on from this man. You deserve everything good thing in this world and Gojo just isn't one of them.
Whew. That was my rant....for now. Eagerly sitting here waiting for someone to physically hurt Gojo. Also Nanami sir are you available? And most importantly are you single looking to mingle? (We can't be having a 2nd Rie now)
it's really sad when you think about it...5 years. yn must've been planning her whole life and future with satoru already and then one day he comes home and decides that she's not the one for him anymore :(((

The Mechanic Series #1: The Red Queen - Sano Manjiro

Chapter 5
"So, Takemitchy, whose friend are you?" Mikey asked the poor boy who got caught up with his heated argument with Draken.
"It's obviously me, midget." Draken replied, sending Mikey an intimidating glare.
"I thought you two already made up!" Hanagaki groaned in stressed manner. He's grateful that the two leaders of Toman already settled everything between them and ended the internal conflict, even though his precious properties are destroyed and a shit on his head.
"So, your sweetheart left just like that? Even though you put so much effort to break your own bike?" Draken changed the subject with a mocking smirk.
"Sweetheart? Mikey-kun's got a girlfriend?" Hanagaki asked, rather interested by the topic.
Wait? Did Naoto mentioned Mikey having a woman? I don't remember him getting involved with any girls before either. He thought.
"Pft. She doesn't even wanna be friends with him." The Vice scoffed that made Mikey's face contort with a pout.
"She's just shy!"
"Uh-huh, keep saying that."
"C'mon, let's go to President's shop!" Mikey's face instantly turned from gloomy to cheery real quick as he hopped excitedly towards the direction of Arisa's shop.
"President?" Takemitchi tilted his head in confusion.
"Third Junior High's President. Don't you know her? The one with red hair." Draken replied blandly, he's getting pissed just remembering how arrogantly Arisa returned his glare.
"Hmm..." Takemitchi hummed as he racked his brains out to remember if he had met that person before.
"She's really strong and beautiful! You must've seen it when she headbutted me!" Mikey proudly stated as he smiled fondly. He turned to a corner to use a short cut towards the high way since they are walking by foot.
"She headbutted you?!" Takemichi exclaimed in horror. Well, Hinata slapped Mikey before but that's out of pure misunderstanding.
"Yup! It really hurts, but she's pretty doing that so..." Mikey says while giggling like a love-sick girl, his pupils almost turning heart-shaped.
"Simp." Scoffed Draken, he couldn't believed how piqued his best friend is towards the President.
"Do you like her, Mikey-kun?" The younger blonde asks out of genuine curiosity.
"Yes." Mikey replied almost immediately as if it is the most basic fact in his life. Takemichi did not fail to see how his obsidian eyes twinkled with fondness and something else.
Something he had never seen before.
Draken is certainly clueless what Mikey likes about the President. She's overbearing and arrogant, and most probably a typical Litte Miss Perfect that hates deliquents for a petty reason such as break up or any other different shits.
Yes, she is strong and brave. And he hadn't seen a girl who stood before Mikey toe-to-toe before, other than Hinata who literally slapped the Commander because she thought he's bullying Takemitchi. But, her bravery is something else, as if she's showing that she's on Mikey's level.
They were about to cross the road, when suddenly two motorcycles zoomed passed them. Almost hitting them in the process. Takemitchi held his chest, feeling his own heart almost getting out of his ribcage.
"These punks--" Draken was cut off when Mikey dashed towards the other side of the road towards the repair shop ahead. The Vice Commander rolled his eyes, assuming that Mikey is too excited to see the President.
But, boy he's wrong.
They were greeted by a wrecked shop. Everything is destroyed, even the glass window and doors are broken. From equipments to the vehicles they are currently working on are smashed. And looked like there have been a serious fight because of the few droplets blood spilt on the tiled floor.
Crowd is starting to form outside the shop. Mikey hysterically entered the establishment to look for the President who left his house not too long ago.
Anxiety is starting to build up inside him as he frantically looked around, but no sign of Arisa anywhere, not even the other girls who works with her.
"Mikey-kun! The computer is still working, the CCTV might caught up something." Takemitchi announced and typed on the computer on the reception table.
He thanked the heavens that Naoto taught him how to use a computer. "I got something!"
Mikey and Draken immediately went behind him to watch the preview of the CCTV footage. Their eyes widen when they watched couple of huge thugs enter the shop and started to destroy everything with a baseball bat. They even witnessed how Akira and Kiyori fought back, the girls are certainly skilled and they managed to knock them down.
After that scene, Takemitchi clicked the frame where the footage from outside the store is playing. They saw how a van stopped in front of the shop and forcefully dragged the poor girls on the vehicle.
"That emblem, isn't that--" Draken was cut off once more when Mikey ran out of the shop, leaving him with Takemitchi once again.
But, he didn't have any much choice and he knew exactly what Mikey would do. So, he went back home with Takemitchi to get his bike, and after few minutes, he received a message from Mikey that they would meet up halfway towards the shop.
Takemitchi rode with Draken and the Vice Commander immediately obliged Mikey's order and drove towards the base of the gang who attacked Arisa's shop.
That gang is known to lurk on the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. It used to be under Osanai's wing.
Draken and Takemitchi ran into Mikey whose speeding up through the highway, they also saw Mitsuya following Mikey closely.
Why didn't Arisa asked him for help when he was right in front of her? He would help her in a heartbeat without a second thought.
There is an uneasy feeling bubbling inside him. Yes, it hasn't been a week since he met Arisa, and it is insane to say that she's already holding a part of him.
It might be her bravery to headbutt him that night or the dull look on her warm shaded eyes. The way her that her stoic face would only show irritated expression, but softens when she sees Emma. Or it is because he had this curious feeling the first time he looked in her eyes that they are the same.
And it would be also because of this lingering feeling inside him that tells him that Arisa would hold an important part of him.
When they reached the warehouse, they parked their bikes and saw Arisa carrying Akira's unconscious body outside the building.
Rio checked their vital signs and concluded that the two girls are certainly inhaled a strong drug that numbs ones muscle and blurs consciousness away.
When Rio and Iseul got there, Arisa had already finished the goons, and all that's left is taking Kiyori and Akira back home. They were late, but they are grateful that Arisa isn't hurt that much, even though she looks tired and her clothes are bit dirty.
What they concerns them the most are Kiyori and Akira, it might took days before they gain consciousness again or move their limbs. They are pretty beaten up, too.
They are beyond furious, and they want to crush them to death. But, their main priority is to keep the two girls safe and detoxify them immediately.
"What in the blue heck..." The boys mumbled in disbelief when they saw the situation inside the building. There are multiple bodies lying seemingly lifeless on the floor, some of them are even twitching or groaning in pain.
"What are you doing here?" Questioned Arisa when she saw the boys.
Wait. These girls!
Takemitchi exclaimed inwardly while looking at girls in wide eyes.
"Why did you not ask for my help?! Are you out of your mind?! Barging in here all alone?!" Mikey exclaimed as he approached Arisa and tightly grabbed her shoulders. His face frowned in pure annoyance and worry at the same time.
"Why would I ask for your help? You're far too concerned with my business, Commander." Arisa spatted all too bluntly in a firm tone and slapped Mikey's hands away. "I don't need help especially from the people in the likes of you."
Just how much hate does this girl had pent up anger against the deliquents in her tiny body?
She doesn't need his help, out of the entire population of the earth. She doesn't need concern coming from people like him, and she's in no need of his interest nor attention.
Arisa's eyes suddenly widen, "DUCK!" she yelled and tackled Mikey's body to the ground. Because of shock, the people with her immediately did as she said.
Two gunshots were heard, followed by Arisa's pained grunt when the bullets hit her lower back.
"FUCK!" Arisa cursed, and twisted her body upright. She took out a pistol strapped on her hip, before aiming for the gunner. She protectively covered Mikey, incase the culprit shots again. She pulled the trigger twice and cursed once again when the gunner got away, but she's certain she hit him on the shoulder.
She did not even recognized the culprit because he's clad in dark hoodie jacket and his face is covered with mask.
"President!" Mikey exclaimed in horror when Arisa's clothes started to get damped with blood.
Something inside him is stirring up, his mind started to circle around the possibility that Arisa might die on the spot.
"I'm fine. Just...take Kyo and Aki out of here...!!" Arisa managed to choke out before she coughed blood. Rio removed the bandanna she uses as a hairband from her head and wrapped it tightly around Arisa's waist firmly to stop the blood from flowing.
"LET PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT YOU, DAMN IT!" The young commander angrily yelled. He's getting frustrated, all too distressed by Arisa's stubbornness even in this kind of situation.
Arisa's eyes widen in pure shock. Even his friends are takem aback by Mikey's outburst. They've never seen Mikey snap like this before, not even when he found out Kazutora killed his brother.
Mikey rarely raises his voice.
"He's right, Captain." Rio scolded their stubborn Captain as she secured the bandanna on her waist. "She's going to be fine. Will you help us get them out of here?" Rio calmly told Mikey with a small smile. She seems to be used to these kind of scenarios as if it happened too many times before.
Mikey immediately carried Arisa in his arms, while Mitsuya took Akira, and Draken got Kiyori. They secured them with the available things they have, such as Draken's cardigan, Mikey's hoodie and Rio's flannel.
"Stay with me, Arisa. Please." Mikey pleaded under his breath as he felt Arisa's body weakly leaning on his back. She's starting to lose consciousness, too.

falling for you ❧ kaoru sakurayashiki / cherry blossom

navigation | music
➣ genre: fluff, slight comedy
➣ warnings: cursing
➣ a/n: i’m far too in love with this man. i can’t help myself. also if you have anything you want me to write, send it to my inbox!
Tumblr media
- he first met you at "S," seeing you stood by langa and reki
- his silky pink hair flowed behind him in the wind, his bangs lifting to reveal his golden eyes. those golden orbs are locked on you the entire time he skates closer to you
- the lack of bickering that usually arose between cherry and joe had caught joe's attention
- joe notices cherry's gaze on a particular y/h/c. he almost snorts, almost, but, being a teasing lil bitch kidding, he decides to jab at cherry's side
- "hey, do you see that girl over there? she's cute, isn't she?"
- the bubblegum-colored hair male glares holes into his friends head
- "i'm sure she wouldn't be interested in a muscle-brained gorilla like yourself"
- "bOI, DID YOU JUST-"
- skates off into the distance, further closing the gap between the two of you
- girls and guys start cheering for and fawning over cherry, as well as joe. this catches your attention because you're surprised mostly by the fawning of the people. honestly, you wouldn't say that anyone you've seen there is worthy of so much attention, excluding your two best buds: langa and reki.
- you're actually older than reki and langa by 3 years. you met reki on coincidence.
- you had borrowed your friend's skateboard to cruise around the town. you had felt overwhelmed with all that had been going on in your life, and you wanted to find an escape. your friend, wanting to help you with that mission, offered the board, saying "it's really fun and gets your mind off of things whenever you need." obviously, you took up on the offer because it was a nice spring day: the sun out and the bright colors of nature and the city filling your misty eyes.
- you skated by the skate park and saw a particular redhead practicing ollies and other tricks. you were impressed by the skill he had portrayed, yet you were also envious of how light he seemed, how his eyes twinkled with joy. your gaze must've rested too long on the boy because he approached you soon after.
- reki, later on, introduced you to langa, bringing you to where you were today
- you came to "S," though unwillingly, to support langa in his beef against another fellow skater
- honestly, you detested that your younger friends were participating in illegal activities but never brought it up because you saw how happy they looked whenever they spoke about the beefs
- anYWAYS-
- looking into the distance, you see a masked man in a white yukata, hair flowing behind him, and a green haired, shirtless, buff man skating closer
- "who's that?" you ask your friends
- "oh! that's cherry blossom and joe. they are the founding members of "S." cherry has an ai board, and joe has incredible power," reki pips
- you nod, acknowledging the two men as they stepped off of their skateboards
- “well hello there,” the green haired man winks at you
- “hi,” you flush, eyes wandering between his gaze and his bare chest
- “what’s a pretty little lady like yourself doing with these two kids?”
- “uh-”
- reki tries to jump joe but is held back by langa because we know that reki doesn’t stand a chance against big muscle man
- joe gets all up and comfy with you, flexing his muscles and talking about who knows what
- your attention was mostly on the blue-nette friend of yours. you were still very anxious about this entire thing
- “she’s not even paying attention to you anymore, you idiot,” the masked man speaks
- embarrassed that they noticed your rude behavior, you begin to excessively apologize
- “no, please don’t apologize. i should’ve realized you were worried about your friends,” joe says modestly
- “there’s no need to worry about snow. he’s fully capable of staying safe. we’ve seen him skate many times, and he always comes out in one piece. i’m sure you’ll be impressed as well,” cherry says in his monotonous tone
- “snow?” you tilt your head to the side in confusion
- when i tell you cherry MELTED, i mean that he MELTED
- stomach? churning. heart? fluttering. cheeks? flushing. hotel? trivago
- bRO, why are you SO FUCKING ADORABLE
- “snow is langa,” joe explains when he notices cherry’s flustered silence
- “ohhhhhh-”
- “actually, i’ve just realized. we haven’t properly introduced ourselves. call me joe,” he looks expectantly at his friend
- “you may call me cherry,” the man thanked the lords that he wore a mask because if he wasn’t, you’d see the obvious rose tint on his cheeks
- “i’m y/n! i came here with reki and langa.”
- to say cherry’s heart broke in that moment would be an understatement. his heart was more so shattered and pulverized.
- did i just fall for a minor? FU-
- “but i’m older than them, of course.”
- lemme just pick up the shards of my broken heart and re-piece it back together
- you barely talked to cherry that night his fault for acting so cold, but you were intrigued by the man. i mean he skates on a talking skateboard, how can you not?
- cherry leaves “S” that night, regretting all his life decisions because instead of talking to you, he avoided you
- who knows when’s the next time he’d meet you?
- lmao, SiKe
- you walk into sakurayashiki calligraphy, awkwardly waiting to be interviewed
- his pink hair meets your eyes, the long, silky hair framing the man’s pale face. a pair of glasses rest on the bridge of his nose, enhancing his golden eyes. he is clad in a navy blue yukata
- hm, he looks familia-
- you almost gasp aloud, as you realize who he is
- not wanting to jump to conclusions, you ask, “have we met before?”
- kaoru is freaking out, though he hides it well under his professional mask
- what the heck? she’s the one looking for a job here?
- “yes, we have, but that’s not what we’re here to talk about”
- yiKeS, nice first impression on your, hopefully, new boss, y/n
- throughout the entire interview, you impressed him with the slightest of things
- you were beyond professional and exactly what he looked for in employees
- damn it. why is she so perfect?
- you walk out of the building with the brightest smile on your face, ecstatic with the news that you had been hired
- kaoru follows closely behind you, acting gentlemanly as he leads you out
- “thank you so, so much. i promise i will work my hardest to make your business even stronger and better than before”
- “no, the honor’s all mine. i can tell that you’ll become a valuable asset”
- you’re bowing your head and thanking him to a crazy amount that he starts to worry that you’re getting dizzy
- mustering up all the courage he could, he speaks up, “actually, i don’t really like talking about the skating half of my life...”
- you mutter a genuine apology for bringing it up before
- “it’s alright, but i was wondering if you wanted to go to “S” with me next time. i understand if you decline. i won’t fire you for it,” he tries to add a joke to lighten his tense mood
- you giggle at his nervous and awkward behavior, “good to know i won’t get fired if i say no, but sure! i wouldn’t mind going again. it’s a good opportunity to let me watch over reki and langa—”
- “that-that’s great,” he sighs with relief
- “—and i can get to know you better,” you mutter quietly under your breath
- he flushes, hearing what you said perfectly
- “i wouldn’t mind that either”
- you couldn’t sleep that night, thinking about the soft smile on kaoru’s face, whilst kaoru was busy sleeping, lost in his dreams of you and him together
- the both of you couldn’t wait to get to know each other more

Daughter of the Sea - Chapter 1
Series Masterlist
Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Y/n) stands in the kitchen of her mother and step-father's apartment, making the bean dip Smelly Gabe liked so much.
(Y/n) fixes her gaze on the counter but then she lets out a yelp as something hits her in between her shoulder blades.
"Hurry it up, girl!" Smelly Gabe snarls.
"Yes sir," (Y/n) murmurs.
A few minutes later, Gabe stalks into the kitchen, takes the dip without so much of a thank you.
(Y/n) fixes her gaze on the shoe on the ground before she moves to her room. She climbs into her bed, getting under her covers. (Y/n) turns, facing the wall.
She closes her eyes, falling to an uneasy sleep.
(Y/n) watches, disconnected from the others in the dream, as one of her brother's teachers turns into something that reminded her of a demon, or something similar that she'd read books about. The woman had bat wings, claws, and a mouth of yellow fangs.
Then (Y/n) looks around, her eyes widening in shock as she sees her brother holding a bronze sword.
Percy swings the sword, the demon exploding into yellow powder, vaporizing on the spot.
A hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder has (Y/n) jolting awake. "Honey? Are you okay?" Sally Jackson asks.
Catching the wide-eyed look of horror on (Y/n)'s face, Sally wraps her daughter in a hug.
(Y/n)'s breathing steadies, and she breathes in her mother's familiar scent - chocolate, licorice, and all the other things she sold at the candy shop in Grand Central Station.
"Did you get all your work done?" Sally asks softly, her thumb brushing over a slightly visible bruise that had appeared at the base of the back of her neck.
(Y/n) hums in reply.
. . .
The next day, (Y/n) is once again lying in her bed, not wanting to have to deal with Gabe throwing more shoes or glass bottles at / near her.
. . .
Percy walks into the apartment, dragging his suitcase behind him, hoping his mom would be home from work. Instead, Smelly Gabe is in the living room, playing poker with his buddies. The television blares ESPN; chips and beer cans are strewn all over the carpet.
Hardly looking up, he says around his cigar, "So, you're home."
"Where's my mom? (Y/n)?"
"Mom's working," Gabe says. "The girl's in her room. You got any cash?"
"That's it. No Welcome back. Good to see you. How has your life been the last six months?
Gabe had put on weight since the last time Percy had seen him. Gabe looked like a tuskless walrus in thrift-store clothes. He has about three hairs on his head, all combed over his bald scalp.
"I don't have any cash," Percy replies.
Gabe raises a greasy eyebrow. Gabe could sniff out money like a bloodhound, which is surprising, since his own smell should've covered up everything else.
"You took a taxi from the bus station," he says. "Probably paid with a twenty. Got six, seven bucks in change. Somebody expects to live under this roof, he ought to carry his own weight. Am I right, Eddie?"
Eddie, the super of the apartment building, looks at Percy with a twinge of sympathy. "Come on, Gabe," he says. The guy just got here."
"Am I right?" Gabe repeats.
Eddie scowls into his bowl of pretzels. The two other guys pass gas in harmony.
"Fine," Percy says. He digs a wad of dollars out of his pocket and throws the money on the table. "I hope you lose."
"Your report card came, brain boy!" He shouts back at Percy. "I wouldn't act so snooty!"
Percy slams the door to his room, which isn't really his room. During school months, it is Gabe's 'study.' He doesn't study anything in there except old car magazines, but he loves shoving his stuff in Percy's closet, leaving his muddy boots on the windowsill, and doing his best to make the place smell like his nasty cologne, cigars, and stale beer.
Percy drops his suitcase on the bed. Home sweet home he thinks.
Gabe's smell is almost worse than the nightmares about Mrs. Dodds, or the sound of that old fruit lady's shears snipping the yarn.
Percy sits, lost in his thoughts.
Then he hears his mom's voice, "Percy?" She opens the bedroom door, and his fears melt. "Oh, Percy," she hugs him tight. "I can't believe it. You've grown since Christmas."
Sally had brought Percy a bag of 'free samples' the way she always did whenever he'd come home.
The two sit together on the bed. While Percy attacks the blueberry sour strings, she runs her hands through his hair, demanding to know everything that he hadn't put in his letters. She doesn't mention his getting expelled. She doesn't seem to care about that.
Percy tells his mother that she is smothering him, but secretly, Percy is really, really glad to see her.
From the other room, Gabe yells, "Hey, Sally - how about some bean dip, huh?"
Percy grits his teeth. My mom is the nicest lady in the world. She should be married to a millionaire, not to some jerk like Gabe.
(Y/n) pads into Percy's room, and the dark haired boy brightens at the sight of his younger twin.
"I've got the dip, Mom," (Y/n) says softly. Sally gazes at her daughter for a moment, her gaze sad.
"Wait, (Y/n)," Sally says, and (Y/n) turns back to face her mother. "I've got a surprise for the two of you," she says. "We're going to the beach."
Percy's eyes widen. "Montauk?"
"Three nights - same cabin," Sally replies.
"When?" (Y/n) asks, looking excited.
She smiles, "As soon as I get changed."
(Y/n) can't believe it. Mom, Percy, and I hadn't been to Montauk in the last two summers because Gabe had said that there wasn't enough money.
Gabe appears in the doorway behind (Y/n) and growls, "Bean dip, Sally? Didn't you hear me?"
Percy wants to punch him, but he meets his mother's eyes, and understands that she is offering him a deal: Be nice to Gabe for a little while; just until she's ready to leave for Montauk.
"I've got it, Gabe," (Y/n) says.
"Sorry, honey," Sally says, looking at her husband. "We were just talking about the trip."
Gabe's eyes get small. "The trip? You mean you were serious about that?"
"I knew it," Percy mutters. "He won't let us go."
"Of course he will," Sally says evenly. "Your stepfather is just worried about money."
(Y/n) turns to face Gabe, smiling as kindly as she could. "What if I make a seven-layer dip that'll last the whole weekend?" she asks. "Guacamole. Sour cream. The works."
Gabe softens a bit, then turns back to face Sally. "So, this money for your trip . . . it comes out of your clothes budget, right?"
"Yes, honey," Sally replies.
"And you won't take my car anywhere but there and back."
"We'll be very careful."
Gabe scratches his double chin. "Maybe if the girl hurries up with the seven-layer dip . . . and if the boy apologizes for interrupting my poker game."
Maybe if I kick you in your soft spot, Percy thinks. And make you sing soprano for a week.
"I'm sorry," Percy mutters. "I'm really sorry I interrupted your incredibly important power game. Please go back to it right now."
Gabe's eyes narrow. His tiny brain is probably trying to detect the sarcasm in my statement, Percy thinks.
"Yeah, whatever," Gabe decides; he goes back to his game.
"Thank you, Percy," Sally says. "Once we get to Montauk, we'll talk more about...whatever you've forgotten to tell me, okay?"
For a moment, (Y/n) can see anxiety in her mother's eyes, but then her smile returns, and (Y/n) figures that she must've been mistaken.
. . .
An hour later, the three are ready to leave.
Gabe takes a break from his poker game long enough to watch (Y/n) and Percy lug the bags to his car. He keeps griping and groaning about losing her and (Y/n)'s cooking - and more important, his '78 Camaro - for the whole weekend.
"Not a scratch on this car, brain boy," Gabe warns Percy as he loads the last bag into the car. "Not one little scratch."
Like I'd be the one driving. I'm fourteen, Percy thinks.
Watching Gabe lumbers back towards the apartment building, Percy gets so mad that he does something he can't explain. As Gabe reaches the door, Percy makes the hand gesture he'd seen Grover made on the bus, a soft of warding-off-evil gesture, a clawed hand over his heart, then a shoving movement towards Gabe. The screen door slams so hard it whacks him the the butt and sends him flying up the staircase as if he'd been shot from a cannon.
. . .
(Y/n)'s POV
Our rental cabin is on the south shore, way out at the tip of Long Island. It is a little pastel box with faded curtains, half sunken into the dunes. There's always sand in the sheets, spiders in the cabinets, and most of the time the sea is too cold to swim in.
I loved the place.
Mom, Percy, and I had been going ever since Percy and I'd been a baby. Mom had been coming even longer. She'd never exactly said, but I know why the beach was special to her.
It's the place where she'd met my Dad.
As we get closer to Montauk, Mom seems to grow younger, years of worry and work disappearing from her face. Her eyes turn the color of the sea.
We get there around sunset, open all the cabin's windows, and go through the usual cleaning routine.
Mom, Percy, and I walk on the beach, feed blue corn-chips to the seagulls, and munch on blue jelly beans, blue saltwater taffy, and all the other free samples Mom had brought home from work.
I guess maybe I should explain all the blue food.
Gabe had once told Mom that there was no such thing. They had had this fight, which had seemed like a really small think at the time, but ever since, Mom went out of her way to eat blue. She baked blue birthday cakes, mixed blueberry smoothies, bought blue-corn tortilla chips, and brought home blue candy from the shop. This - along with keeping her maiden name, Jackson, rather than calling herself Mrs. Ugliano - is proof that she isn't totally suckered by Gabe. She did have a rebellious streak, just like Percy.
When it gets dark, we make a fire. We roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Mom tells Percy and me stories about when she was a kid, back before her parents had died in the plane crash. She tells us about the books she wanted to write someday, when she had enough money to quit the candy shop.
Eventually, it seems that Percy gets the nerve to ask about what is always on our minds whenever we come to Montauk - our father. Mom's eyes go all misty. I figure she would tell us the same things she always did, but neither Percy or I ever got tired of hearing them.
"He was kind, Percy," Mom replies. "Tall, handsome, and powerful. But gentle too, like you, (Y/n)." Mom says and I soften. "You have his black hair, Percy, and you both share his green eyes.
Mom fishes a blue jelly bean out of her candy bag. "I wish he could see you two. He would be so proud."
I wonder how she could say that when I'm the girl who cowers from her stepfather. The girl who hides in her room to get away from said stepfather.
"How old were we?" Percy asks, pulling me from my thoughts. "I mean . . . when he left?"
Mom watches the flames. "He was only with me for one summer, Percy. Right here at this beach. This cabin."
"But . . . he knew us as babies."
"No, honey," Mom replies. "He knew I was expecting twins, but he never met you. He had to leave before you were born."
I try to square that with the fact that I seem to remember . . . something about my father. A warm glow, maybe a smile.
Percy and I had always assumed that our father had known us as babies. Mom had never said it outright, but still, I'd felt that it must be true. Now, to be told that he'd never even seen us . . .
I feel angry at my father. Maybe it is stupid, but I resent him for going on that ocean voyage, for not having the guts to marry Mom.
"Are you going to send me away again?" Percy asks. "To another boarding school?"
Mom pulls a marshmallow from the fire.
"I don't know, honey," her voice is heavy. "I think . . . I think we'll have to do something."
"Because you don't want me around?" Percy says and I flinch, avoiding both his and Mom's gazes.
I glance up to see that Mom's eyes had welled up with tears. "Oh, Percy, no. I - I have to, honey. For your own good. I have to send you away."
"But you never send her away," Percy says and I look up, eyes wide with surprise.
Mom looks at Percy, eyes wide with shock.
Finally she says, "I have to keep both of you away from each other as much as possible. I thought you'd finally be safe."
"I tried to keep you as close to me as I could," Mom says. "They told me it was a mistake. But there's only one other option, Percy, (Y/n) - the place your father wanted to send you two. And I just . . . I just can't stand to do it."
"Our father wanted us to go to a special school?" I ask.
"Not a school," Mom replies. "A summer camp."
My head spins. Why would my dad - who hadn't even stayed around to see me and Percy be born - talk to Mom about a summer camp?
"I'm sorry, (Y/n)," Mom says, seeing the look in my eyes. "But I can't talk about it. I - I couldn't send you two to that place. It might mean saying goodbye to you for good."
"For good?" Percy asks. "But if it's only a summer camp . . ."
Mom turns towards the fire, and I know from her expression, that if we asked any more questions, she would start to cry.

Solidarity of the sponges! I... Read a lot less than my mother. Like a lot. As in, it takes a lot for a book to interest me, but once it does I usually can't stop reading it, but that is few and far between. It's been about... A month(?) since I last read a book? I used to be a reading machine, but now I can only read about 8k words in fanfiction 😔
Ooo, 3D models are so fun! I enjoy painting them, even if they get really annoying. I've got two dnd ones and they've got WINGS! I love wings. (You get an A for effort with the storm troopers, I've watched all the og 6 but only because me and my friend went on a movie binge and the star wars movies were on the list)
And thank you!! I must've missed the bird+dragon ask, I remember sending it but not reading it. You don't have to make a new post about monsters if you don't want to! I don't have anything in mind, really, just soemthing monstrous
Oh I love that. I love that you are on a dnd podcast. And thank you!! I hope you are doing well as well!!! I have just finished a term of school and I now have 2 weeks of holidays!! Huzzah!!

Heathen! Hello!! We can be sponges together and just absorb things in tandem. Every person contains a mass of knowledge about random things and sometimes we get it from our parents and sometimes we get it from ourselves
just this morning we had a substitute in physics and he was just like "oh sick I've got so much nerdery about all of this" and started talking about the visible light spectrum and the original color of the universe. and then. he started messing with the teacher's spectrum tube power supply(this thing) because she has elements he doesn't and he wanted to see them. but some of them don't quite fit so he started using wires to do funky science things and there were legit wires sticking out of it like antenna. and he's doing all of this just for fun while we're silently working on our reports and he just goes "this might catch on fire." and then a few minutes later it did. just casually. and the whole time he was like "yeah I'm a nerd about this" i was just thinking "he doesn't know...he doesn't know how much I know about the history of human dissection..." that's off topic but I thought it was fun and wanted to share
also fair with the book thing! I'm like that but with movies and shows, like I just do not watch them unless I really get invested and then I binge it all at once. last time it happened was december when I binged all of Arcane the day before my mom, sister, and I left to drive across the country for two days to visit my grandma. I do read a fair number of books when I have the time, but I think I understand what you mean
I know very little about 3D models, but they've always seemed like fun! but also difficult because everything is so finicky and small. probably something you get better at with practice, but I have never practiced. i do have a small sculpture I painted at a local place a few years ago! it's a fairy sitting on a crescent moon :). I also made a clay frog a few months ago!! i still have him, he just sits on my bookshelf being a frog. he is very small (hell yes I love getting A's. this is success)
also you're welcome! I figured you might not have seen it which is why I linked it, just in case. and I wouldn't mind making more posts about monsters!! it's more like I am requesting just slightly more context/direction so that the things I say will be helpful. monsters are very gender and I love them a lot, so I'd love to help!
yep! I was on that one episode, and still haven't actually listened to it. my dad has, as the podcast person in my family. I find it very hard to listen to podcasts and audiobooks, which sucks. my partner is involved with multiple podcasts and I haven't listened to them because brain doesn't like podcasts. But!! Into the Hollow just released it's first episode so I'm trying to listen to that (I listened to all the interviews before it but not the actual episode yet)
I am doing fairly alright!! a little jealous of your break (/lh), because I don't have one, but also I haven't had a break longer than 3 weeks since I was 13 so I'm used to it. I have finished my college courses for this semester and just need to wrap up 2 high school, but also I have 2 very face paced college courses starting on monday before my high school classes are over.
i hope you are doing alright!! it's very nice to hear from you <3

You know what? Just because you’d be able to talk my ears off with LuckyBoy!AU, I’m gonna keep asking you about it with long asks so I can get long answers (I love reading long answers since they give out so much info and speculation, while leaving room for discussion as well). So let's have a chat through asks so neither of us have anxiety(?) while talking to each other in messages.
Who would be some of the regulars when Ben is working at the cooffe shop? (I also love this au XD) Would Cooper, Rook, Gwen, Max and/or anyone else go at the same time as a group and have a casual conversation with the barista? Would Ben accidently gain confidential information about the Plumbers this way? I wonder if he would be famous between the aliens and humans near Undertown as one of the few humans that's actually chill with every alien regardless of appearances thanks to knowing Gwen with the Omnitrix from before?
I feel like Ben purposefully avoiding Cooper as his vigilante persona would start as a measure to avoid his identity being exposed (I belive it was Cooper who exposed him in UAF, right?), but later would develop into a troll play, waiting for him to finally find him and play a prank there.
Would Ben play pranks on Will Harangue for giving him bad publicity to the humans? I mean, it's not like he can just appear in front of a camera and tell his side of the story, he would be captured instantly, or interrupted at the very least; and he having his own social media wouldn't work too well since he isn't a tech genius and the Plumbers could track him down.
Also, what has Gwen done that they think they need Ben to protect them from her? Like yeah, in OV there's a lot of property damage, but they don't believe they need protection from him (at least I don't think so), so she must've done something big in order for that to happen.
And now an ask that isn't directly related to Ben XD Who would be some of the people leading an investigation against the vigilante, trying to discover his identity as well as species? Like I imagine Rook would be more of an addon to said investigation, being on the lookout but not actively investigating everything that Ben has been involved with, and Gwen has a lot on her plate, so let's not let her join said investigation.
Oh oh oh, I just thought about it, if Ben could be considered an Anodite in this AU, what happened when Verdona appeared in that one episode of AF? Did she manage to find Ben in the first place and almost but not quite take him away? Does the rest of the family know he's an Anodite and what are their thoughts about it? If they don't then how would Ben explain some of the magic things that he does and someone witness?
Ohohoh, buttering me up are ya? Well you're in for a brain dump.
Ok, first I gotta say: The alien cafe is separate to the plumbers (the plumbers have their on cafeteria, but like to indulge in other food sometimes, and non-instant coffee.)
So I was thinking, one of Ben's regular coworkers is Alan Albright. Reason for this is because Alan is not allowed to go on missions often. He's too young. I mean I know they definitely have child soldiers in OS- buuuut Max's influence has put a stop to that. He's seen how it affected Gwen. So, Alan is put on easy patrols in low crime area, in the city.
Alan, however wants in on the action, so Max had suggested the cafe. Ben and Alan have a very brotherly bond, and Ben (outside of his vigilante life) has been swaying Alan's opinion on both, the plumbers and his alter ego.
Manny, Alan, Helen and Cooper- When not busying himself with the tech lounge- (sorry, Pierce is still dead in this), will often come by the cafe, they sit in a booth and discuss things. Most occasions Ben is invited to sit with them.
When Gwen pops by their interactions are brief, Ben would try to tease her about anything and everything under the sun. "See Kevin lately?" "Oh, got beat by the walking glow stick again, huh?" "Geez, another jail break? 3rd time this week!"
Normally he gets a fiery reaction and a nasty retort.
Of course Ben would take every opportunity he can to get info. At first it wasn't intentional, he'd just eaves drop on a few conversations that interested him. As time goes by though, he's found that a lot of people, plumber, criminal and just outer space travelers, are more than happy to unload some gossip. Ben is very much delighted by that.
He's not exactly famous, he's well known for being a friendly person, yes. But not all throughout Undertown.
ain't cooper the blond dude with some kinda telekenetic power that ended up turning into an almost Kevin duplicate? (i'll fix that) NGL I forgot he grew up in UAF.
Pretty sure the one that exposed Ben was the nerd who was voiced by the VA of Robin (TeenTitans/Go). Now that you bring it up though, that guy... Jimmy, is someone to be avoided, cause he's a snoopy guy. Who also hangs out at the cafe a lot to get details. Always ends up harassing Ben cause he knows Ben has all the juicy gossip.
And yeah Ben would totally take advantage of it to mess with the poor kid.
Definitely. Ben would mess with Will Harangue as much as possible. Especially when he goes live. Ben won't confront him personally, or do anything that could possibly reveal his indentity. He's got a lot of unique mannerisms that his family could quickly pick up on, there's also his voice, although muffled by the mask, if it's recorded enough- it's another identifier.
So that leaves Ben with his sticker trail. They're very bright, almost blinding, so Ben's stickers are an annoying inconvenience. He could also use a weak spell that causes it's victims to yawn/sneeze. Maybe he'll hang in the background briefly and wave. Just some of things he does to get under Harangue's skin basically.
Gwen:
So, you picked up on what I've hinted at. Good.
Before I go into Gwen, I'll say this: The plumbers are stationed on Earth to protect humanity. That means the aliens who have immigrated are less of a priority. That doesn't mean that they're completely unsafe, the plumbers still patrol Undertown and look after the people- just less so.
Aliens that leave Undertown especially- Normally they're ushered back by a few Plumbers standing guard- those that pose a threat or seem to pose a threat are dealt with by the plumbers. Which isn't too bad, just a slap on the back, a fine, maybe jail time.
Unless you run into Gwen. Who is much more intimidating, much more brutish, she won't exactly hold back. So- she hasn't got the best rep with Undertown. She's still a hero. Known throughout the universe. Just not a kind one.
On several occassions, Ben(vigilante) has had to step in to get her to back down from dealing with criminals.
The plumbers don't have a lot to go on with the investigating. Ben doesn't leave any DNA trails, cause anodites have no DNA. No hair strands, no finger prints, no blood. Even his stickers. They got nothing, nada.
That doesn't mean it's completely hopeless. A clean hit to Ben has on more than one occasion shocked him out of his anodite form, reverting him back to human (which is why he has the glasses and face mask, as a just incase scenario.) Sometimes even spooking/shocking him can make him human again. If his focus is messed with he's human, kinda deal.
So the plumbers are aware of this. They do their best to be as violent and destructive when they see Ben. They're attempts usually fail unless they have someone competent enough with them, Ie; Gwen, Rook.
Villains are also aware of this. So risky buiz am I right?
In regards to Verdona; honestly, I feel like having her know about Ben's existence as an anodite would kinda nerf this whole thing completely. Verdona, I bet, would be a massive gossip. Although her contact with Max is limited, he'd hear about it eventually. Game over. There's also Sunny, who would take advantage of this information and spread it across the universe.
So instead maybe Verdona pays a visit later rather than now.
She'd also be less inclined to take Ben back home, I like how Verdona is indifferent to Ben but loves Gwen, I wanna keep that aspect.
To explain any magic happenings that his family or friends have spotted, he just says he's practicing to be an illusionist. Or he broke a glow stick, or his has glitter in his pocket. (He always has something retaining to magenta hidden up his sleeve.)
Hopefully that got all your questions answered for now!

Enchanted Pt. 2
Kuroo x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: AYOOOO it's finally out! Part 3 up vv soon.
Warnings: No beta we die like men, swearing, implied death, poisoning, attempted murder, etc Crack treated seriously.
Word Count: 2.7k
[Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3]
A snake could be seen inside of Tetsurou's bag, though nobody looked hard enough to notice it.
Prince Tetsurou was allowed to travel alongside (y/n) and Shoyo, who had each been given a horse to help with their travels.
Tetsurou decided to pick up conversation. "So... Travelling with an elf. Your boyfriend couldn't make it?"
"Nope. Mostly because I don't have one." they answered.
"Oh? I would've thought for sure you had one." He grinned.
Rolling their eyes (y/n) asked him a question. "What about you? Your girlfriend okay with you leaving her alone?"
He glanced to the side and coughed. "I uh, don't have one."
"Oh?"
"I have many."
(y/n) started at him blankly as if their brain was still lagging from that. Tetsurou snorted at the look. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. You shouldn't believe everything you read in a magazine."
As they chatted the moment was interrupted by a loud "Excuse me!" coming from Shoyo. They both glanced back at him and he rides his horse up to the two.
"Excuse me, Prince Tetsurou. Permission to speak?" He looked up.
"Sure, go for it."
"Well... it's a weird coincidence but I was going to the Royal Palace to discuss a few... career options that I-" The elf was cut off from his rambling.
"Shoyo wants to petition the kingdom so that he can become an Athlete." (y/n) told him.
The prince seemed comtemplative but ultimately advised Shoyo to speak to his uncle about it. (y/n) stopped talking to him after that and they eventually came across giants working in the fields. One of them stood up to take a break, only to be whipped and forced to continue working.
Tetsurou stared at the sight in absolute shock. His eyes wide open. "The... The giants have always been gentle. Why are they being treated like slaves? I'm... I'm sure my uncle doesn't know about this. There's no way."
They continue on their way to the wedding. Upon entering they're instantly greeted with loud music and dancing. The giants seemed to be having a great time.
"I hope they don't get to upset with me here, I know they must hate the Royal Family." Tetsurou looked around.
"Nah, They'd respect you having the balls to show up here. Plus, they don't hold grudges... They're bigger than that." They grinned at the sound Tetsu made once he realized the joke.
A giant noticed them. "Prince Tetsurou, what are you doing here?"
"I came to have a little chat, but I think I'll come back when there's been less drinki- OW." He got cut off by an elbow jabbing his side.
"He's here as a friend to hear your complaints." (y/n) told the giant. She nodded and smiled.
"Well then, welcome."
Before anything else, (y/n) asked for Satori and was pointed in his direction. They thanked the giant and rushed off, leaving Tetsurou and Shoyo behind.
They rushed over and asked around, only to be told that He'd left over an hour ago. They had no helpful information to give, So they turned to Ryuu. "Ryunosuke, can you show me Satori?"
The book opened up and he spoke. "Yeah he's getting an FWI. Flying while Intoxicated."
----⭐----
"I had no idea things were so bad. I promise the first thing I do after coronation is help you buy your farms back." Tetsurou told the giant.
"I'll hold you to that."
(y/n) hesitantly stepped in. "Excuse me, sorry if I'm interrupting."
"No problem, we were done," the giant told them. "That's a fine young man you have there."
Almost immediately (y/n) began denying and rambling before giving up. They turned to Tetsu and spoke. "Have you seen Shoyo? We need to leave, My fairy godfather isn't here."
"Leave? But it's the middle of the night, you have to at least stay for the party."
With a sigh, they reluctantly agreed. Tetsu furrowed his eyebrows. "You don't... have to stay. I don't wanna force you to do something you don't want to do." He spoke gently.
A small smile appeared on their lips. "Thank you, Tetsu... For everything. So, I'll see you around?"
Before they could get far, Tetsu spoke again. "But... I wish you would stay."
Turning to face the prince they smiled a bit bigger. "I guess one more night couldn't hurt."
A few minutes later, they sat on a giant's table, explaining their situation to Tetsurou casually when he suggested something way too good to pass up.
"You could always check the hall of records? I could pull a few strings to get you in there."
A huge smile was formed. "Really? You have no idea how much that would mean to me, thank you so much, Tetsu."
----💫----
After an impromptu performance that resulted in (y/n) and Tetsurou getting closer, they sat near a fireplace and just talked. Tetsu revealed that his mother had passed away a long time ago and (y/n) revealed the same. They talked about their memories with their parents and bonded more because of it. The conversation ended up going back to politics and (y/n) spoke of how easily Tetsu could win over the kingdom's subject, no matter what species.
"Wow was that, almost a compliment? From you? I must've died." He laughs.
"Yeah yeah. Don't get a big head over it. Your stupid crown won't fit." They smiled at him.
He was silent for a moment before he spoke again. "Tomorrow. I'm going to go to my uncle and ask for the Elven restriction law to be removed. I'm going to make sure I get to watch one of shoyo's games."
They stared at him for a moment before leaning in closer. "I think you're gonna be a great king someday. Your father... He would've been proud."
"Thanks. He would've really liked you."
They sat in silence for a moment, just basking in the comfortable atmosphere before Tetsu spoke again. "Kiss me."
They leaned in even closer towards him but he paused. "That... wasn't an order." He spoke hesitantly, almost as if he were afraid. But they just smiled at him.
"I know." And with that, the gap between them closed.
----💫----
When they reached the town the next morning, Tetsurou couldn't stop stealing small glances at (y/n) that seemed to be so full of love and adoration that anyone could see how much he cared for them. They approached castle, being let in easily by the guards, but Shoyo didn't have the same luck. Being an elf, one of the guards forced him out of the castle.
The two of them walked in, hand in hand, only to instantly freeze once they realized that his fanclub was taking a tour of the castle. Tooru notice the two of them first and the gradually, everyone else did. A beat of silence passed before Tetsu booked it, dragging (y/n) with him.
They'd found an area where they were safe from the mob and were greeted by none other than Kei.
"Tetsu, I've been looking all over for you." He spoke calmly. As Tetsu prepared his answer another question arose from the shorter man beside Kei. "And who might thiss... Charming young lady be?"
"This is (y/n). (y/n), this is my uncle, Kei and this is his... Tadashi." He gestured to the man with blond hair and glasses first and then the dark haired man with freckles covering his face.
"I assume your journey went well?" Kei asked.
"We ran into a few ogres but other than that, everything was good." They responded.
Kei raised an eyebrow. "You could've been killed." He glanced towards Tetsurou. "Oh well, you just have to grin and bare it, as I say." He turned and looked towards (y/n). "Grin and bare it."
Within less than a second, they had a grin on their face. This caught both his and Tadashi's attention but they said nothing of it. Kei turned back to Tetsu. "Can I speak with you for a moment? The crown maker needs to see you for a fitting."
"Cool, well I need to take (y/n) to the Hall of records."
"Fine, hop to it then." once again, (y/n) did as they were told.
The moment the two were out of sight, Kei spoke to Tadashi. "You were right about them."
"And they've been filling the Prince'ss head with "dangerouss" ideologiess." Tadashi hissed.
----⭐----
"(y/n) has lots of interesting ideas about the kingdom. I think you should hear them." Tetsu told Kei as he stood in front of the crown maker.
"Can't wait." He faked a smile.
"Giant's working conditions are just an example, it's unbelievable how shitty they're treated. I've talked with them though, and it seems like they're open for negotiations." Tetsu said.
"The only negotiations between me and the giants will be over vegetable deliveries." His voice was cold and Tadashi laughed.
"This isn't a joke, uncle Kei." Tetsu watched the blond get closer through the mirror.
He placed his hand on his shoulder. "We'll talk about it after your coronation, yes?"
"Fine. But we will talk."
"Of course." Kei confirmed.
A moment of silence passed before Tetsu took a deep breath. "I'm going to ask them to marry me."
Kei paused in his tracks and turned to face Tetsu. "Who? This (y/n) of frell?"
"Yes. Tonight at the ball. At the same place and same time as my father when he proposed to my mother."
Kei and Tadashi looked at each other. Tadashi walked off and Kei turned to stare at Tetsu as if he'd grown a second head.
----❌----
If (y/n) was getting sold out by their step brothers for the prince's hand in marriage, then that was between those two and who ever they sold (y/n) out to.
----💫----
"I can't find him in any of these books. Ryuu, show me Satori."
The book opened at their words, flipping until it showed Satori, blacked out on a bed. No luck. Not until they took a magnifying glass to one of the pages and read a flyer in his area that pointed him out perfectly. Before they could get too excited, Kei walked in.
"I... Hope you've found everything to your satisfaction?" He approached them slowly.
"Yes, thank you."
"Good." He glanced at a book on a desk and forced it off of it. "Oh no, how clumsy of me. Pick it up." He commanded.
A yelp left them as they were forced to pick up the book that he'd thrown down. "Very good. Now touch your toes."
They did as told, only to realize what was going on with a groan. "Oh no."
"Oh yes." Kei forced them to do a multitude of things, mostly testing the waters before the big one came. "As you know, tonight is the coronation ball. At some point, Prince Tetsu will sweep you away to the Hall of mirrors. Then, just before midnight strikes, he'll take you by the hand and ask you a question."
"How do you know all of this?" They cut in.
Tadashi spoke. "We know everything."
"The one thing we know with most certainty... Is that at the stroke of midnight, you will take this dagger and plunge it through his heart and kill him." Kei told them, holding the dagger out.
As much as (y/n) tried to argue and fight the curse, they could do only do so much before it kicked it.
"It's actually rather lucky your here. That way I wont have to do it myself." Kei sat down.
Shaking, they asked. "You would kill your own nephew?"
"Well why not? I killed my own brother."
"What? Why?!"
"I want to be king."
"Now leave, but before you go... You will not tell a single soul about this plan."
-----💫-----
"Can I help you?" A fairy asked.
"Yes I'm looking for Satori Tendou, it's extremely important." (y/n) told the fairy.
"Yeah sorry, he got kicked out last week."
"Do you know where I could find him?"
"Nuh uh."
The fairy walked away leaving (y/n) to do whatever it was going to do. (y/n) took a seat a a nearby table and wrote a goodbye letter to Tetsu.
Hours later, they found Shoyo and asked him to chain them to the trunk of a dead tree outside of the city. Once it had been done, they gave him instructions. "Look. I need you to rally all the elves and giants you can find. You'll need all the help you can get. Someone needs to sneak into the castle, steal Ryunosuke back, and keep Tetsu away from Kei."
"...Why? What's going on?"
"I can't tell you. But if you don't you'll be stuck singing and dancing for the rest of your life." They scowled.
"Fine! Into the stupid forest I go." Shoyo huffed, grumbling under his breath as he walked away.
----⭐----
The ball began and Tetsu sat alone on his throne. Tadashi slithered up to Tetsurou's right side. "Where'ss your little friend?" he mused.
"Yes, She should be here by now." Kei followed.
"I don't wanna talk about it." He walked away leaving the two of them there.
He walked up to Tooru and very hesitantly asked him to dance.
----💫----
As (y/n) remained chained to the tree, a light began to glow in the sky. No less than a moment later, Satori Tendou appeared. They called out his name in desperation until he approached them.
"Hmm? Do I know you?" He tilted his head.
"(y/n) of frell, you gave me a gift?" They explained frantically.
Recognition shone in his eyes. "Ahhh yes, the obedient one."
"I'm so happy to see you, I've been look everywhere for you. I need you to take the gift back."
He narrowed his eyes. "Take it back? Nope!"
"It's not that I'm not grateful, it's just, If I keep the gift I might do something horrible to this guy that I really, really like."
"Get rid of it yourself." He told them. "Ah but I will help you out this once. I'll unchain you." Despite their begging as pleading, Satori got rid of the chains that held them against the tree.
"Y'know what? Let's change your clothes and send you off, yeah?" A poof a smoke and They were in a shimmering sliver outfit and sent to the ball.
----⭐----
As he danced with Tooru, a loud crash was heard. Tetsurou turned to see (y/n) desperately trying not to get to him.
"Tetsu, tell me you never want to see me again." Was the first thing out of their mouth to him. Immediately, he shook his head.
"Why did you write that letter? Tell me how you really feel about me."
Unable to stop their words, "I love you" came out shaky and nervous. Quickly followed by "But I... I'm wrong for you and wrong for the kingdom."
His eyes softened and he placed a hand on their cheek. "Is that what this is about? (Y/n), that's crazy. Follow me."
As soon as the words left his mouth they started panicking again but they couldn't choose not to follow him. From the throne, Kei and Tadashi watched on with sick interest as Tetsurou led (y/n) down to the Hall of mirrors. "Thiss sshould be fun." Tadashi grinned while a grandfather clock ticked on in the background.
They reached the Hall of Mirrors and The prince stepped away from them for a moment. "When I was little, my dad brought me down here. Told me to look in the mirror and see myself as a great leader. I never could, at least, not until I met you." He stopped speaking and held them the moment he heard sniffling. "What's wrong?"
"I... I wish I Could- I wish I could tell you everything, but I can't." They all but sobbed.
"These last few days have been perfect, I mean, excluding the whole almost getting eaten alive, or that letter you wrote that made me die a little inside, and then I had to dance with TOORU, of all people. But none of that matters anymore. We're together now, aren't we?" He pulled them to the center of the room after he finished speaking. "I don't want it to end."
"I know, I know," they sniffled. "I feel the same but I—"
"I brought you here— I know you're scared and I'm scared too. This is... a big step." He held eye contact and slowly got on one knee, despite (y/n) shaking their head softly, with tears in their eyes. "(Y/n), will you marry me?" He stared up at them with big, hopeful eyes that shone brighter as they smiled at him.
Too bad the clock struck midnight.

PARTY FAVOURS I A VENOMOUS INTERLUDE
Tumblr media
Did y'all know symbrock is canon? Well, now you do. Reader's favourite deadbeat surrogate uncle is in town and he brought a... Friend. No warnings, just a boatload of crack and fluff, as usual. Reader being mouthy. Takes place a little bit into the future - around after chapter 32: spoiler alert is useless because we already know a tonybrucestrange/reader quartet is the endgame. 💖💝✨
Tumblr media
"What," I had to pause for a second for my brain to catch up with my eyes. "The fuck?!"
It was truly a miracle I could say anything out loud, at all. Words weren't valid enough to describe my shock and confusion. The scene unfolding in front of me resembled and unholy cross between a B-rated horror movies about demonic possession and some deep-sea Eldritch monstrosity.
The eight-feet tall black, oozing dude in front of me? Yes, you, with the teeth. Ctulhu called, he wants his tentacles back.
The creature honest to god rippled, like some nightmare-fuel goth Jell-O, rapidly shrinking in size within seconds. As more of the black tar-like substance receded, a much more human form started to appear under it. Worn jeans, leather jacket, ungroomed beard and the look of a biker gang member coming off a serious bender.
"Uh, Princess?"
"Eddie. Fucking. Brock. Uncle Idiot." I punctuated each word with an increasing widening of my eyes. The world was fucking nuts. Two and two did not compute - Eddie might have looked threatening to some people - like white suburban Karens - even without the... Gooey squid-on-steroids thing he had going on. The man was built like a fucking brick shithouse, but I knew him way too well. Eddie couldn't be that badass to save a life.
"You two know each other?" Tony shrieked indignantly, a coarseness in his voice that indicated only one thing: my boo was well into his third drink. Hell, I didn't blame him - that gaping toothy maw was fucking gnarly.
Hands on my hips, I caught myself slipping into a mute rage, storming over to the 200lbs worth of pure dumbass and knocking him right in the face. "You! Didn't tell! ME!" A black tendril wrapped around my wrist, carefully but firmly securing it and preventing me from causing my non-related uncle any more physical damage. Although I must admit, my knuckles probably were more affected than his jaw. "You! Are! A MUTANT!!! HOW COULD YOU?! How could you NOT tell ME?"
I trusted the man with my soul and most embarrassing drinking stories. Hell, I called Eddie in a stoned haze the very same night I lost my v-card. I just thought we were bros, you know? I saw his whole fucking life implode more than once and personally flew to California to ice his injuries and his hurt ego countless times. I was done dirty in the worst way.
"I'm not-" Eddie's sigh was long-suffering. "I, uh, I have a parasite..." He sounded meek, in the same way he used to describe his drunkenly misconduct when I made our family driver bail out his ass outta jail in the morning.
"TAKE THAT BACK!" A deep gravelly voice thundered, seemingly coming out of his chest?
"Okay, okay," Eddie smiled. It was strangely soft and un-eddie-like. The only person he smiled like that was... used to be Anne. "This is Venom. They're an alien and we're, uh, a thing. It's a recent development." The tentacle unwrapped itself from me as I took an involuntary step back.
Even barring the fact that Eddie was dating an alien, this was way too fucking weird for 3 o'clock on a Sunday. I always knew the reporter was, for the lack of a better word, a little weird but he really took it to new heights. With Thor and Loki looking... Like that, I could see a human dating some sort of a hot alien. But with Ctulhu looking the way he did just minutes ago? Did Eddie seriously let all of those teeth in close proximity of his dick?
I had a "ERROR 404, common sense not found" hanging over me for the longest time. The others were quiet behind me, too, even Tony - one of my boyfriends, the most likely to cause utter chaos, was hanging back and expecting me to do something.
"Venom," I clarified, just to fill the silence with some noise while my brain processors re-synced.
"WE ARE VENOM." The tentacle that was sleek and black now had two completely white eyes and a smaller-scale version of the toothy grin that had drooled all over the common room carpet. Their voice had an interesting effect: it was so deep, the air around them vibrated slightly when they spoke.
I tilted my head examining the appendage. It was considerably less terrifying when it wasn't five times my size. "What are you?" And most importantly, are you a threat to my favourite non-related family member? I left that statement unspoken although it was obvious I was ready to fight it? Them? If need be.
"A SYMBIOTE," They replied, swaying the head-tentacle slowly. "WE LOVE EDDIE AND KEEP HIM ALIVE AND HEALTHY." So, they understood the actual question.
"Which is fucked up because Klyntar usually behave in the opposite way." Hearing Thor swear was, perhaps, even more unsettling than finding out about the symbiote-alien-boyfriend thing my uncle had going on. The thunderer himself was nursing a jug of golden liquid. The good Asgardian stuff, he must've been really fucking bamboozled.
"Okay. So anybody wanna fill me on the details before I beat up my favourite idiot?" I sighed, pointedly looking at Tony.
"I thought I was your favourite idiot!" He immediately retorted, hurt, but nonetheless opened his arms to give me a grounding embrace. We may have sucked face for a few seconds, because why the hell not, Tony was an amazing kisser and his tongue down my throat was very calming.
"Hold up, what the fuck?" Now it was Eddie's turn to act all offended. "Aren't you a little too young for him?"
"You and your most likely carnivorous goth space pudding can fuck right off if you're not going to be supportive of my very inappropriate, very polyamorous relationship with three incredibly hot boomers," I shot back, slipping into some resemblance of normalcy. Me and Eddie go way, way back and shitting on each other's bad life decisions was the founding stone of our bromance. Hell, he was the guy who showed me the wonders of sarcasm at an early age! Wonderbaum!
"There's three of them?" Eddie's voice pitched and he gaped, palming his face.
"SHE HAS A POINT, EDDIE. WE EAT PEOPLE. BEING UNSUPPORTIVE WOULD MAKE US LOOK LIKE AN ASSHOLE." Eddie's buddy stated, sounding almost fed up. So, they were sentient enough to recognize how much of a pain in the ass Eddie could be. I could work with that, disregarding the cannibalism comment, of course. What the fuck was up with that?
"Yes, Eddie, I also periodically bump uglies and trade disgustingly sweet text messages with the Hulk and a badass wizard," I rolled my eyes at the reporter's following gasp and angry muttering. "Venom, I like you."
"WE RETURN THE SENTIMENT. YOUR CHOICE IN MATES IS VERY WISE, CONSIDERING YOU ARE A WEAK MORSEL. THEY CAN PROTECT YOU."
"Shut up, Squid. I'll still kick your motherfucking ass if you hurt Eddie."
The emo space goo laughed, a terse scratching noise, showing way, way too many teeth for me to feel comfortable but I allowed myself to be placed on the couch between Tony and Eddie nonetheless. The initial shock of seeing a talking octopod with fangs passed quickly - I've seen Stephen's "trophies" he brought from his otherworldly journeys and Lovecraftian horrors were, honestly, pretty low on the gross/creepy scale.
"Both of you, explain. For the love of fuck," Tony sighed, emotionally exhausted and drained of his usual bravado.
"Eddie was my dad's friend until he moved to Cali, I've know him for fifteen years, give or take. He taught me how to ride a bike and bake the best pot brownies," I shrugged. There wasn't much to say. "I visited him whenever I could but you know, with school and then you guys, there wasn't that much time to iron out the details." I have Eddie a death glare, pointing to Venom's floaty head with my eyes.
Eddie nodded. "What she said..." And then launched an elaborate tale about some company called Life Foundation, some evil dude named Drake and his own alien pudding named Carnage, who was one ugly motherfucker judging by Eddie's and Venom's combined "ew" face, their aching need for human brains to survive and other, more trivial things, like mental breakdowns in a lobster tank and getting dumped by a fiancé and eating their way through a HYDRA base after being captured and tortured. What a wild fucking ride.
"Sounds like you had a rough year," Everybody's dumbfounded silence was ended by Tony who took a slow swig of his whiskey before speaking.
"Yeah, no shit," Eddie muttered, twisting his black coated fingers in elaborate but frankly pretty shapes. His alien wrapped around his neck like a tube scarf and additional tentacles appeared between Eddie's hands, gently prying them open and enveloping them in a sort of a hug? It was hard to compute, the black mass appeared to be totally amorphous.
"How's your anxiety?" I asked, damn well knowing Eddie's mind tended to run like Tony's: zero to sixty in point five with no clear destination. Having an alien inside of him must've really thrown Eddie for a loop.
"It's, uh, better. Venom helps," The reporter admitted, still staring at his hands but the crease between his brows had disappeared and the expression he wore was kind of fond.
"Good. You know, Venom," I thoughtfully addressed the definitely sentient creature. "Eddie is a bigger dumbass than me, which is saying something. You ought to keep a really close eye on him. If not for me, he'd probably be dead from alcohol poisoning, like, years ago."
"WE ARE AWARE. WE CAN ACCESS EDDIE'S MEMORIES." A head manifested itself on a thicker tentacle, floating over to look me in the face but maintaining a respectful distance and staying out of my personal space bubble. "AND WE ARE THANKFUL. EDDIE IS THE PERFECT HOST. WE LOVE EDDIE."
I felt the corner of my mouth tilt upwards at the alien's proclamation. It was child-like in its blunt honesty but carried a certain weight with it. It told me whoever tries to separate those two in any way would get eaten faster than they could say "SIKE!". And honestly? I would help Venom hide the evidence.
"I literally had you for thirty minutes but I would kill everybody and then myself if you two got hurt. This is too soft, I can't." I snorted, extending a curious hand towards Venom. They looked so shiny. I had to touch them.
And they let me. Venom butted their head into my palm and let me gently run my fingers over their slightly cool, slippery flesh. It felt like putting my hands on a surprisingly sturdy yet bouncy piece of flubber. I purposely avoided the small maw and the endless rows of sharp teeth but managed to accidentally brush against something rough and scratchy - as it turned out, the Symbiote had a very long, very dexterous tongue. And didn't that give me a bunch of interesting mental images.
"Oh my God, NO!" Wanda moaned from somewhere, the voice mortified and disgusted.
"Why are you touching the people-eating alien?" Bruce yelped, entering the room with several people in tow. The scientist looked worried, a little bit green around the edges. The tablet in his hands beeped periodically, signifying the ongoing sciencing bender he was in process of.
"WE WOULD NOT EAT THIS HUMAN. WE ARE FOND OF THE MORSEL." Venom defended, well, venomously. Eddie wisely choose to stay silent, trading a knowing look with Tony.
Stephen Strange sighed, briefly closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose with a jagged movement. "One day, Princess, one day you will stop collecting people that are obviously bad for your health and your future. That, or space in the tower will simply run out." With a deeper, calmer sigh, the sorcerer landed in front of me on the floor, sitting cross-legged and subtly begging for a head scratch. Which meant just placing his always neatly trimmed curls under my free hand. His jealousy was about as subtle as a foot in the face.
"I'll just ask Tony to build more floors, duh," I rolled my eyes with force at the obvious solution, giving into Steph's demands, beginning to card through his hair. It was calming both of us, really.
Bruce came over to give me a kiss and my other boyfriends didn't even grumble about the scientist placing himself in my lap, crawling over both Tony and Stephen to get comfortable.
Our dynamic was unconventional and more than a little weird, but it worked for us and the rest of the team most certainly didn't complain about the vast decrease in conflict that came with the territory. Come to think of it, all of us were more tactile than just a group of friends sharing a house and I was very much on board with that. None of us except select few (looking at you, mister doctor) were hugged enough as children and we were making up for it in spades right fucking now.
"Girl has a type," Wanda remarked, like the messy little shit she was. I stuck out my tongue in retaliation.
The Avengers' brain trust began talking about Venom's slightly inconvenient diet that directly resulted in multiple felonies for one Edward Brock, and as much as I tried to follow the flow and make my own, however feeble, contributions to the scientific side of the conversation, the new life form was much more interesting. I asked Venom several questions and they deemed them acceptable enough to answer - which evolved on both of us absolutely geeking out over the differences in our physiology. The space pudding didn't hold back one bit, insulting the inferior human biology with gleeful gusto.
"They need a chemical called phenethylamine," Bruce sighed, having deduced it through discussion since Venom and Eddie both protested aggressively against any kind of invasive testing. "I can synthesize it. No more head-chomping, no more murder."
It made perfect sense. Except it didn't. "Brucie-bear, you're a brilliant fucking scientist but a shit psychologist." I interrupted whatever came next. "Venom is a person, like me and you and, yes, even Hulk. Tell me this: if you found a way to get rid of Hulk, would you stop sciencing in the gamma radiation field?" I looked my boyfriend straight in the eyes, hoping for a spark of common sense. "Do you see my point? You science, Tony engineers, Steve draws and Clint bakes. Venom hunts. It's who they are, you can't give them a pill to make it go away."
The weight of my word landed in the room like lead, heavy. The only source of sound was the TV, playing the news quietly in the background for the longest time. Those few minutes felt like hours until Thor expectantly turned towards Eddie/Venom.
"IT IS SO. WE ARE AFRAID WE CANNOT INFLUENCE OUR INSTINCT TO HUNT PREY. KLYNTAR ARE APEX PREDATORS." The little black goop sounded almost apologetic. It was hard to hear undertones with their voice being so deep and grating. "BUT WE CAN TRY." Okay, I could totally hear the hope. Finding out the Eldritch horror could make puppy eyes was... Terrifying, to be honest, because they fucking worked.
"Got any better ideas?" Tony asked me sarcastically.
"I do, actually." I leveled a look with Natasha. She understood. "HYDRA goons. The aliens that, for some reason, keep invading New York every month or so. Stephen's adventures in Hell. Do I need to continue?"
"Wait, hold on," Steve raised his palms. "We don't kill HYDRA, we deposit them in SHIELD custody."
I snorted at the naïve Captain. "And what do you think happens to them there? Did you honestly think they just let torturing, murdering, world-domination planning psychos back on the streets?"
Steve frowned in confusion. "They go to prison?"
Natasha choose that moment to step up. "It's not uncommon for them to possess certain enhancements to be deemed too dangerous to be released back into society. Some of them are low-tier mutants and inhumans. Trust me, Steve, the lethal injection is a much more humane treatment than solitary life imprisonment in a ultra-high security prison." Romanoff stated with a trace of compassion. "And some mutants, we can't contain for prolonged periods of time." She added quietly, looking away.
Rogers was staring blankly into the wall, mulling over the information in his head. His intensive thought process was plainly visible on his face. I heard about some kind of fiasco with HYDRA agents suicide-bombing a city in Europe few years ago and Steve was there, along with Wanda and Sam.
"Venom is a whole person, and even if they look like they could be the main character in Call of Ctulhu video game, we can't just disregard them like they are some kind of badly behaving pet. They're my honorary uncle's boyf-sorry-significant other, for fuck's sake," I threw my hands up in the air in exasperation. "Y'all should know I don't fuck with people who give shit to one of my own. Don't disappoint me like that." I finished, feeling more tired than I had in months. I didn't regret giving into the found family dynamic, however I didn't exactly sign up for hard choices like them vs my long lost uncle, y'know?
Great, now I had a headache and three very concerned boyfriends glaring at me for unknown reasons. The urge to pace always manifested strongly within me as the emotional atmosphere rose in the room. With Bruce dangling off my lap, I couldn't do even that and I felt the restlessness blossom into irritation more and more with each passing second of my existence.
Eddie remained silent, looking down. Venom had mostly receded into the reporter's body, save for a few tentacles tightly wrapped around Eddie's palm.
"Alright," Steve suddenly said. "We can work with that."
"Princess, you look like you're either going to cry or yell any second," Bruce said softly, squeezing my shoulder and pulling me closer.
I immediately hid my face in his chest, taking several deep, shaky breaths. "Eddie is family. Y'all are family. It's terrifying to have to choose between the two." I said, after a brief moment of hesitation.
The reporter made some sort of a choked gasp, quickly masking it with a cough - I knew him way too well to miss the way he was fighting back tears of his own. Bruce understood, he really did understand me - hopped off my lap and let me hug Eddie properly, my happy-sad tears soaking through the collar of his tee.
"You're, uh, welcome to stay. I'll have a guest room prepared." Tony cleared his throat, passing his half-finished glass to Stephen who swallowed the liquid in one gulp. My boyfriends were so fucking emotionally illiterate. Disaster humans.
Huh, I really did have a type.
Later that night, I made the mistake of barging into Eddie's room with a bottle of really fancy whiskey I liberated from Tony's overstocked liquor cabinet. Visiting my uncle and boozing and smoking on the balcony, for old times sake, was my plan and...
I failed the mission successfully.
I didn't bother knocking. As soon as I saw a pair of bare feet, my eyes traveled further up on the couch on their own volition. There were so many tentacles, a writhing, oozing silky black mass and Eddie was making sounds, unmistakable noises-
"UNSEE. UNSEE. OH MY GOD, UNSEE, UNSEE." I stumbled back into the common room shivering.
"What happened, is everything okay?" Bucky stood up as soon as he saw me enter the doorway with my face scrunched in a grimace of regret. I felt like I've gone through the five stages of grief in the shortest time possible for a human being.
Somwhere, I heard Wanda's sudden moan full of pain and misery. "Please, stop THINKING about it!"
"Brain bleach, oh my God," I cringed. "Where's the Clorox?! I have decided I don't need my eyeballs-"
"Oooh," Tony's proverbial lightbulb lit up. The engineer sounded like he was about five seconds away from building a space ship and permanently moving to another planet. "They're together-together..." Tony intercepted me nonetheless, doing the most effective thing to make me stop speaking and thinking bullshit. He kissed me. With lots of tongue.

Marks on the Boss
A/N: I am super bad at naming this shit This was requested by
Warnings: implied smut, hickies/love bites
Word Count: 1.4k
Summary: Prentiss sees Hotch has some love bites on his neck....
Tumblr media
It was early in the morning. The BAU team was slowly walking in through the doors one by one. The only ones in the bullpen were Morgan, Reid, and JJ.
"I can't stand the smell of lavender." Morgan shook his head.
"Lavender? You don't like lavender?" JJ couldn't believe what she was hearing. "How could you not like lavender?"
"I just don't." Morgan shrugged his broad shoulders. "Never have."
"Lavender works as an anxiolytic to increase relaxation and helps you sleep." Reid pointed out. "It interacts with the neurotransmitter GABA to help the brain calm down and quiet nervous system activity."
"That why I use it for Henry." JJ nodded her head.
The three profilers watched as you and Prentiss walked into the bullpen and went to your desks.
"Good morning, guys!" You chirped, setting your bag down on your desk before you went to join their little group. "What're we talking about?"
"Uh, smells." JJ answered with a little laugh.
"Ones we like or don't like?" Prentiss leaned against Reid's desk while you leaned against Morgan's next to JJ.
"Take your pick." Morgan replied.
"Ooh!" Your eyes got really big for a second as you thought of what to say. "Garcia has this really nice plug in air-freshner in her cave that smells like fireball."
"I think us non-alcoholics call that cinnamon, Y/L/N." Rossi spoke as he passed the team.
"I'm not an alcoholic!" You mockingly gasped. He grinned.
"Is Hotch in yet?" He asked over his shoulder. You stayed silent, knowing very well he wasn't. But you'd just arrived. Answering his question would make you look suspicious.
"Haven't seen him." Morgan shook his head. "Which is a little weird. He's usually here first."
"Guys!" Garcia called from the doorway of the roundtable room. "We've got a nasty one."
"I don't like the smell of cinnamon." Reid scrunched his nose up as all of you started to move towards the roundtable room. "It's too.... spicy." You laugh softly at his choice of words.
***
Shortly after everyone got settled around the table, Hotch showed up.
"Sorry I'm late, everyone." He moved to take his seat at the end of the table towards the back of the room. You very briefly met his gaze but it didn't linger for long. You diverted your eyes down to the tablet in front of you. "Go ahead when you're ready, Garcia."
Prentiss was the first to see them. There was one dark mark just under his right ear, then another little further down on his neck. Hotch could feel her eyes on him. He glanced up and met her gaze. She quickly looked down at the notes in her hands.
"Is something wrong, Prentiss?"
"No, sir." She answered a little too quickly. You peeked up through your lashes to see what she was looking at. Your heart dropped at the sight of the markings you'd left on him. You both agreed no visible marks. However, last night you must've gotten carried away.
You stood up suddenly, catching everyone's attention.
"I-I need to use the, uh, the restroom." You hastily made your way towards the door. Smooth on, Y/N. As you walked to the bathrooms, you pulled your phone out to text him.
To: Aaron Hotchner <"She saw the bite marks on your neck.">
You gripped your phone tightly in hand. The door to the bathroom was pushed open. You slipped into the restroom and went to lean against the counter. A few moments later, your phone silently buzzed.
From: Aaron Hotchner <"What bite marks?">
You bit your bottom lip.
To: Aaron Hotchner <"The ones I gave you last night.">
A few more minutes pasted before you decided it would be wise to go back to the roundtable room. You didn't want to seem suspicious.
Just as you were walking out of the bathroom, someone grabbed your arm and pushed you against the wall just beside the door. You were ready to fight whoever it was until you saw that it was Hotch.
"Hi." You smiled innocently up at him.
"How the hell are we going to hide this from them?" He was stressing out about it. Of course he was. He always had something to stress out over.
"If they ask, just tell them you were with someone last night." You shrugged your shoulders. "You don't have to tell them who."
Hotch sighed through his nose and looked down the hall to ensure you two were still alone. You reached up to straighten his tie, even though it didn't need it.
"Aaron, I'm sorry." You apologized quietly. "I'll be more careful next time."
"It's unprofessional." He muttered, bringing his eyes back down to you. There was a little something in those icy blue orbs you adored so much. He liked the marks. He wasn't upset like you thought.
"Yeah?" You raised your brows. "Well you know what else is unprofessional?"
"What?"
"Me kissing my boss." Your fingers curled around the lapels of his suit jacket and pulled him down so you could steal a kiss from him. His hands found your waist, his long and slender fingers almost making you laugh. But he didn’t allow the moment to last long. He pulled away and stepped back, straightened his jacket-which you had messed up-and running his fingers through his hair.
“Is it really that noticeable?” He turned his head a little and reached up to rub where he thought the marks were. You bit you bottom lip, secretly admiring the marks you made on him.
“I can fix it. Go into the men’s bathroom. I’ll be in in a moment.” You turned to go back to the bullpen but he stopped you.
“Where are you going?”
“To get my makeup bag out of my go-bag.”
***
“Aaron, hold still.”
“Y/N, I don’t like this.”
“Then we can finally tell the team.” You perked up, only for him to shake his head and mutter a ‘no’ under his breath. “I’m almost done, Aaron.”
After mixing your foundation with moisturizer, you got the correct color to match his neck. Then you proceeded to add the foundation to the markings on his neck but this was easier said than done. Who knew Aaron Hotchner was such a baby?
“I don’t like the way it feels.”
“Oh please.” You rolled your eyes at him. “You can’t feel it.”
“Yes I can.” He countered.
“There.” You wiped the remaining foundation off on a paper towel and admired your handy work.
“And what about Prentiss?”
“She can keep a secret. I trust her.”
He let out a sigh and looked back to the mirror.
“Next time, keep the love bites off my neck.”
“Oh, I’ll try to remember that one, Agent Hotchner.” You rolled your eyes again, a smirk playing on your lips, and started to walk away.
“Agent Y/L/N?”
You turned on your heels to face your boss slash boyfriend.
“Don’t roll your eyes at me.”
You grinned a little, feeling warmth stir in the pit of your stomach. You bit your lip for a moment and taking in the peace and quiet. It wasn’t often that you two got to be like this during the day, to be carefree and let loose.
“Yes, sir, Agent Hotchner. I’ll see you on the jet, sir.”
***
"Hey, Emily.” You smiled to Prentiss as you sat down across from her. She was sitting by herself towards the back of the jet. Morgan had been with her but he left just a few moments before you took his seat.
“Hey, Y/N.” She greeted you. You glanced over your shoulder to Hotch, who sat towards the front of the jet facing. He was with JJ and Rossi going over the case.
“Um, I wanted to talk to you about-,”
“Shut. Up!” She cut you off, a big grin crossing her lips. “No way.”
“What?” The smile fell from your lips. “No way what?”
She deadpanned and raised her eyebrows.
“I wasn’t born yesterday, Y/N. Hotch has hickies on his neck-,”
“Shh!” You hushed her, reaching across to put your hand over her mouth. “Emily, I’m telling you this because I trust you.”
“How long?” Prentiss leaned forward in her seat, now completely captivated by the conversation.
“A few months.” You smiled shyly. “But we aren’t just messing around, Em. We’re serious.”
“Ah, Ms. Y/N has a boyfriend?” Morgan nudged your arm with his hand, wanting you to scoot over a seat so he wouldn’t have to climb over you. You opened your mouth to speak but no sound came out. What the hell were you going to say?
“She was telling me about this guy that just moved in next door. Things are getting serious pretty quick.” Prentiss spoke quick, almost too quick. She looked to you, her eyes widening just slightly as if to signal you to say something.
“Is that a bad thing?” You looked to Morgan.
“How long have you known him?”
“Couple weeks.” You blurted out with a shrug of your shoulders.
“I guess it depends on how you feel, kiddo.” He reached over to ruffle your hair but you took the chance to elbow him in the ribs. You hated when he did that. “Good one. Y/L/N.”
You settled back into your seat, stuck there for a while longer now that Morgan had taken the aisle seat. You looked out the window, watching the clouds below pass by. Your phone buzzed in your hand.
From: Aaron Hotchner <”I’d love to meet his boyfriend of yours.”>
You peeked over your shoulder between your seat and Morgan’s to see Hotch looking at you, a little grin on his lips.

I want to submit this anonymously but I can’t rn so oh well,
I had an idea last night for Shuichi with an Ultimate Lawyer S/O so this is sort of a oneshot (yes I used the argument from Ace Attorney Im not creative with law shit)
I wanted to write this genderneutral but I’m insecure about my writing style and I’m used to writing female Mc’s so apologise for that
Also also forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes I’m super dyslexic
Anyway anyway I’m rambling enjoy my brain rot- 👑! Anon
If you ever asked Shuichi Saihara what his thoughts were on trials he'd tell you he hated them. He hated everything about them. Fully believing in the person he was defending only for them to turn around and reveal some truth they hid making him look an idiot.
Trials truely brought out the worst in people in Shuichi's opinion.
Speaking of the detective right at the moment he was enjoying one of his rare quiet moments, sitting outside the courtroom he sighed deeply, this was his least favourite part of solving a case; for some reason part of being the ultimate detective meant he had to appear in court with his client. He wasn't exactly their lawyer but he did play a big part in defending them, But that wasn't the big reason he hated trails, His wallowing in self pity was interrupted when the very reason he was thinking about walked past him and made her way towards the vending machine nearby.
(Y/N) (L/N) The Ultimate Lawyer, anyone that manages to get her to defend them is 100% guaranteed to get cleared of all their charges or at least a very light sentence. And for some reason almost everyone she agreed to defend involved his clients in some way and therefore him.
And he could never win.
No matter how many arguments he and his client had she could take them all down easily, He hated having all the attention on him, everyone at school knew it too, But whenever the two of them were in the courtroom everyone there knew they were in for a show.
He stayed hunched on the seat for a few seconds, waiting wondering if she didn't notice him he could stay outside a little longer. Keeping his stare on her she realised Instead of her usual suit he couldn't help but notice she was wearing a pencil skirt today ending below her knees, everything about her screamed professionalism. He didn't even realise he was staring until she was suddenly standing right in front of him. nothing was said and instead they both just maintained eye contact. Before she turned around and made her way back inside.
He would never understand her.
He wondered if this process could speed up a bit. He hated the courtroom, the smells, the people, the noises, that's why he always watched her he told himself. He kept his eyes on her because she was the only interesting thing there. They way she moved, the passion in her voice when she talked, how she always kept her cool no matter what was thrown at her.
"And that's why your honour my client is innocent"
"Objection!" Shuichi found himself standing up, he'd been listening to every word that had left her mouth, and thanks to that he'd heard something that didn't add up
"(L/N), your client said he found the body 9:30, correct?"
She looked at him, instead of anger or annoyance her eyes held an excitement he'd never seen her have in the courtroom before.
"That is correct Mr Saihara,"
Standing up straight, in a complete reversal of their position before she sat in a seat while he stood tall.
"But there was a blackout, and since we know your client didn't have their phone on them since they ran downtown to call the police correct? So how did they know the time?"
The client decided to speak up
"I- I heard the time on the tv"
"But there was a blackout, so how would the tv be on?"
They opened their mouth
"A-Actually it wasnt the tv, it was the clock!"
Shuichi objected again;
"the murder weapon that had been accepted into evidence earlier was a statue, not a clock"
You were the one who revealed that The Thinker statue did indeed double as a clock; by tilting it, it spoke the time after.
However, Shuichi refused to back down now, and with the look in your eyes as your stared at him made him want to continue.
"there was no way your client could have known about the clock function without having held it in his own hand. The reason that you knew the time was because he was the real killer. As he killed Stone, the clock announced the time, leaving a strong impression on him."
Shuichi spoke, every word held a confidence to it he'd never felt in the courtroom before, and as he stared at (Y/N), her expression for a split second looked shocked, and he thought for once he'd finally put her down a peg, before her face twisted into a smug grin.
"Mr Saihara you seem different today" leaning on her hand her gaze was focused on him, like she didn't even care that she was losing the case at all. Shuichi didn't understand this side of (Y/N). From every argument he'd ever seen in this courtroom she knew every detail and every loophole, she always had a fire inside her and a determination to help her clients, so why was she staring at him like that? The in her gaze that usually appeared when she argued was now fully directed at him.
Her client, infuriated at Shuichi's ruining of his testimony, began to breakdown on the stand, discarding his sycophantic demeanor and angrily throwing his toupee at Wright's face.
This was once of the rare times her client was guilty, but she didn't seem to be affected at all. Outside the courtroom and crouching in front of the vending machine grabbing your snack she didn't seem phased at all when the Ultimate Detective appeared behind her.
"Hey there Saihara"
"What the hell was that?" He spoke, standing up and leaning against the machine she tried to look innocently at him but the wide smirk on her face betrayed her.
"That was not like you at all (L/N), I know damn well you saw the same discrepancy in your clients testimony I did"
Placing your finger up to your lip you feigned innocence
"Did I? Maybe I didn't notice"
"There's no way, your the Ultimate Lawyer, that case should've been child's play" Shuichi frowned, his tone getting louder as he got more annoyed
She laughed, "truth be told Saihara I knew he was guilty since the start"
Shuichi recoiled the tiniest bit at that news, his eyes widening slightly before he regained his composure,
"Then why did you take the case?"
Walking toward she stopped till she was a few steps from pressing her body against the detective who was at that point hide How activity flustered he was. Her hand slipped into his pocket and she left something light in there before leaning to his ear
"Why do you think I take all the cases I know you'll be at shu-i-chi" she whispered, dragging out his first name before walking away, a flounce to her step. Only when she was out of his view he remembered she had slipped something into his pocket, grabbing it and pulling it out to inspect it his face bursted into fifty different shades of red.
'This must've been why you'd worn a skirt today' he thought as he hurried to find a seat on the train so he could get home, trying to inconspicuously place his hat in a specific way on his lap.
He really wanted to get home now. He had something he needed to do.

kiyoko couldn't remember a time withouth your bright smile in her days, scaring the gray clouds away. you would sit outside her house, right by her side, sharing laughs and secrets. kiyoko kept those memories lock inside her mind, as her most precious secret, and she would always do it, no matter how long it passed.
"kiyo look! i made a ring with a flower!" her eyes, hid behind a big pair of glasses, showed amazement. she didn't care that your hands were covered in dirt after playing on the garden for hours while she read, safely on a bench, following your every move. "give me your hand" you demanded, grabbing it by yourself without giving her time to react.
despite your usual energic being, like most eight years old, whenever you were around your friend, she felt like fine china. a sudden feeling of fear ran down her back, accompanied by a warmness in her belly. you took her ring finger, placing your newest work on it with more care than ever in your life, affraid you would hurt her. to you, and everyone actually, kiyoko was like a porcelain doll. her fair skin, her beautiful face, her sweet voice, confirmed your hypothesis. the first time you saw kiyoko in the playground, you had to ask your parent if she was a real girl, because you've never seen someone that pretty.
"o-only married couples share rings, y/n" she said quietly, going over your gift with her free hand. leaving aside her complain, she seemed to be delighted with it.
"then we'll get married, and i'll give you all the rings in the world!"
shimizu had those words inked on her brain for quite a while, even now ten years later, they would come back. she wasn't sure if it was a memory or a dream anymore. her phone vibrated on her night table, showing a text from tanaka saying he was on his way there, with a sigh, she got up from her bed, thinking on making something to eat for her boyfriend. on days like that, she would prefer being alone, but she couldn't say no to him. he was good to her.
the girl walked down the hall which connected the living room with the dorms, looking at the walls, searching for you with her eyes. a smile formed on her lips when she saw the picture, you eternally kissing her cheek, grabbing onto her face, making her smile more brightly than ever in her life. she thanked her mom internally for taking that picture, after all, it was the only one you two had. her fingers reached your image, following your traces as if that way, she could actually feel your skin against her again. kiyoko always regretted not kissing you one more time, not holding you in her arms for a second longer.
"try to sleep, or you'll end up falling asleep in the middle of the race tomorrow" kiyoko smiled at your sleepy voice, she knew you were sleeping when she decided on calling you, despite knowing you wouldn't get mad, she still felt a little guilty for waking you in the middle of night.
"i can't sleep, i'm too nervous" it was your turn to smile, thinking on how cute she must've looked while talking. it was almost a routine, her anxiety appearing before an important competition. "can you talk to me, please?"
her wishes were granted, you started talking about the last show you watched, in a low, soft tone. you were aware kiyoko felt safe with you, safe enough to sleep with you, and how she found comfort on you. you still felt reluctlant to her only being able to sleep at the sound of your voice, but her kitten like snores came sooner than usual. you found yourself laying in bed, eyes closed, listening to her sounds, and a while later, you too fell in morpheous arms.
a knock on the door scared her memories away, leaving her on the verge of tears. she hurried to the bathroom, trying to wash off the hints of sadness in her face before letting ryunosuke in. he kissed her as a greeting, hugging her by the waist. kiyoko wanted to get away, like the act was disrespectful to your memory. she knew she was wrong though, you wouldn't want her sulking for the rest of her life, thinking of what could've been if life wasn't so damn awful.
"brought dinner" smiled her boyfriend, not realizing what was she going through. it itsn't his fault, kiyoko thought, he doesn't even know she existed.
they set the table for two, talked a little while eating and watched a movie. tanaka wasn't good at taking hints, but even him sensed there was something wrong. he excused himself at midnight, saying he needed something from his house for work tomorrow, maybe she needed some time alone. kiyoko was grateful, because she kept thinking she was cheating on you. so stupid, i can't cheat on someone who isn't here.
kiyoko laid in bed once again, hugging a pillow. it always happened around this time of the year, she should be used to it by now, according to her old therapist. except that she wasn't, not at all. you were always on her mind, but these days she just couldn't escape. it killed her to think about all the broken promises, the things left unsaid. you had plans together, so many plans. in middle school, she longed the day you would travel with each other, conquering the world by your side. she wanted to go back home and find you there, kiss you every night and every morning, have children with you and grow old together as you had done until that day, to know it would never be possible was enough to make her feel miserable.
she kept a box under her bed, almost empty, with the last few things she had of you. a shirt you wore to sleep, a rushed note saying how much you loved her and an old stuffed bear kiyoko won for you at a carnival. that was all she could find in her house of you after the incident, all she was allowed to keep. the first few months she couldn't even bring herself to look at your belongings, how was it possible that your whole existence was reduced to this? you were so much things to kiyoko, nowhere near what those stuff represented. you were love, you were happiness, you were freedom, you were all kiyoko wanted in life and you were ripped away from her.
at two a.m, she found herself once again awake, but she was well aware of the fact that you weren't there to save her anymore. what was she supposed to do when she needed you, more than ever? in a mess of tears, she went outside, headed for her car. the air was cold, hostile, like it was warning her to stay home. the mostly empty streets were perfect for her desperate speed, barely stopping at red lights. she made a road of twenty minutes in ten, a road she hadn't done in quite a while. nonetheless, she knew what she was looking for was still there. kiyoko ran out her car when she got there, crossed the gate, gaining a suspicious look from the guard. she walked towards you, knowing the way a little too well for someone who didn't visit in years.
your name read in the grave, and the remaining force she had in her legs was suddenly gone. tears drowned her sight, holding tightly to the ground beneath hear. sometimes, kiyoko questioned herself if you really existed, she lost all contact with your family after, not being able to see anyone who looked like you, but in that moment, all her supressed memories came back. your first kiss, a peck on the lips, so fast that it might've not even happened, only it did, and it was followed by deeper, better kisses, and eternal love declarations. the first time she held your hand, how flustered you got over her taking the initiative. falling asleep in your arms, you caressing her hair. you kissing her strech marks, promsing you loved her just as she was. the image of your happy self, bursting into cheerings everytime she won a race, filled with pride. all your picnics together, beach days, roadtrips, night snick outs.
everything was real, kiyoko was sure of it. your love for her was real, her love for you couldn't be stopped, not even by death. it hurt so bad, all she wanted to do was see you one more time, feel your warm body against hers. she needed you with her, and it was tearing her apart.

✰ how to be a heartbreaker
↳ so what happens when park jisung, the school’s infamous fuckboy runs into the new girl at school? out of boredom he decides it’ll be fun to have someone new to play with, but little does he know, she’s learning how to be a heartbreaker.
Tumblr media
a/n: hi! an authors note before this chapter begins! 1. yes i know the formatting is different but that’s only because this chapter is 5.9k words long!! (yes you heard me!! 5.9k!! that’s the most ive written for anything published on this blog!!) so there will be a cut bc i know it’s annoying to scroll past long posts haha. 2. i know i didn’t mention it in this chapter but i just wanted to say that if you did want to listen to music while reading this, during y/n and jisung’s scene you should definitely listen to euphoria by bts and that jeno and donghyuck’s song is i.l.y. by the rose. i hope u guys enjoy!
Tumblr media
An hour or so later you're running out your front door to meet Jisung, who already regrets saying he'll wait.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry-" You apologize. "I didn't mean to take that long you must've been bored out of your mind!"
"It's okay." Jisung reassures. "We won't be there that long, we might be a little late to hoco if that's okay with you."
"That's fine!! Just let me text Donghyuck that I'm with you then."
"Okay."
The ride to where Jisung is taking you is quiet, nothing but his various hums to the music he plays as as he drives. It's nice, it reminds you of the first time he gave you a ride home. Quiet, but comfortable.
Instead of looking at your phone you look out the window, then take a second to look at Jisung before looking back out the window again.
You so weren't slick about it either because he notices how you quick you look away and how eager you are to sneak another glance.
"What?" He asks. "Why'd you look at me like that?"
"It's nothing.." You mumble, trying best to hide the smile that's slowly creeping up on your face.
"C'mon." He insists. "Tell me!!" He tries to make it sound like he doesn't care about the topic that much, but his vocal chords work against him as it comes out as a whine.
"Nothing.. It's just.. You look like that, and I look like this.."
"What, you mean beautiful like always?"
Jisung makes note of how quickly your cheeks turn pink at the comment he made.
"You can't just say that!" You argue.
"Yes I can, you're my date tonight after all. What kind of person would I be to not compliment their date?"
You open your mouth, about to speak before he cuts you off from your thought. "And don't worry y/n. I'll take that look as a compliment itself." He snickers.
"Hey!" You shout, earning another laugh from him.
"Hey Jisung?" You ask once the giggles die down.
"Hm?"
"Don't tell anyone I've said this but um.." You start, trailing off at the last part. "Donghyuck has uh, told me things.. about you." You notice how he looks at you, how the expression on his face quickly changes from happy and carefree, to concerned and worried. "I know you probably know what I'm talking about.. I uh- I can kinda.. tell.."
"Yeah." He whispers, trying to block out what you just told him.
"But y'know. I think he's got you all wrong."
"You do?" He asks, a bit too eagerly.
"I do." You say. "From the past how many weeks? Of knowing you, we've gotten close. And I don't think you're anything like that, at least, not anymore.. I've seen the difference between how you act in class and when you're with Jeno and Jaemin, than how you are when we're together and I'd like to hope it isn't just an act. I'm not stupid, y'know."
"I never said you were, I never thought you were either."
"I know. You're not too hard to read, y'know."
For once, Jisung is left speechless. This is the first time anyone has really brought this up on him and he has no idea how to respond. Questions begin to flood his thoughts as he begins to wonder what do you know. Do you know the real reason why he asked you out? How long have you known? What if you never want to talk to him again?
"I-" He tries to speak, but nothing comes out.
"It's okay. I don't know everything about you." You scoff, watching as the boy next to you lets out an exhale. "I don't know that much, but I know enough."
"Enough?" He asks.
"Enough to know that if you are going to break my heart, you should do it right now. Because this is the part where I'm about to tell you how much I like you, and I don't want you getting that satisfaction."
Once you're done talking, you give him a smile. It's a small, innocent, bittersweet smile. It's one of the smiles you would give out to other girls who were ever mean to you, it's subtle, but it gets the point across.
"So what'll be? Park Jisung." You ask, awaiting a response.
Jisung has many things to think about right now, the most important one being driving. He still has yet to process everything you just told him, let alone figure out what to say.
"I.. don't know what to tell you, y/n." He sighs. "I don't want to hurt you.. Can you give me a few minutes?"
"You can have all the time in the world, sweetheart."
Tumblr media
When Jisung finally decides to talk to you once you've reached your destination. If you're going to be honest, it was the most awkward car ride you've been in.
"Okay." He starts, closing his car door. "I know that was way more than a few minutes but I just wanted to tell you this here."
The spot that he had taken you to was a little hill area, on the other side of town. From the top of it you could see the sun set as it's golden rays covered the place you called home. You weren't going to lie, it was beautiful indeed but you didn't care for it at the moment. What you wanted to know was what he was going to say.
"I was.. gonna tell you this here no matter what happened so uh.. Here goes nothing?" There's hesitation, and you can already tell that whatever he was going to tell you was something big. "I'm not here to break your heart, y/n. I know, that's what you thought and probably what everyone else thought too but.. you're different. I know this."
Your brain wants you to call bullshit on that statement but your heart prevents you from doing so. The logical part of you believes that it's probably all a lie, an act just to get you to fall for him. You know this. You know the stories, you've seen the receipts of what he's done to people before you, and you can only assume the things he'll do just to make you fall for him. But if you knew this, then why does it still work?
"Am I really different?" You ask, looking up at him with shaky eyes.
He chuckles.
"Well, yeah. For starters, you're the first girl to ever call me out on my bullshit like that so.." He jokes. "I know.. you're scared. But you shouldn't be." He whispers. "You really are different. I promise."
"Listen, Jisung." You start. "I really want to believe you. It's just hard, because you haven't really given me a reason on why I should."
"That's okay. I understand." He says softly. "I didn't expect you to."
For a second, your heart breaks. It would've continued if he didn't continue talking right then and there.
"But what if I told you all the reasons why you should?" He asks, giving you a shy smile.
"What are they?"
"Well first of all. You're smart. You're smarter than I'll ever be. You've figured me out in what? The span of three months? You don't give yourself enough credit than you deserve. Second of all, you're really passionate about a lot of things. Like that time we argued in the library over the best Stranger Things season? Even though you were wrong, you kept arguing against me."
"Hey!" You exclaim, while Jisung gives you a smile in response.
"Third of all, you're really cute. Don't think I don't notice how your nose scrunches whenever I make a comment you don't like, or how easily you get excited over the simplest things. Remember when we walked to the cafe across the street from school? You got excited because the place had good boba, out of all things. Do you know how ridiculous you sounded?"
"Well- yeah! That's because it was a cafe! And not a boba shop!" You defend.
"I'm kidding." He chuckles. "Also, did you know that whenever you get embarrassed over something not only your cheeks turn pink, but your nose does too."
"You can stop now.. y'know.." You mumble.
"These are just a few things that I like about you, y/n. Do I need to tell you all of them for you to believe me?" He asks, looking at you innocently, as if he didn't just give you the biggest ego boost of all time.
"I believe you." You giggle as he pulls you in for a tight hug.
"Thanks, love." He whispers, placing a light kiss on the top of your head. "Now it's your turn. What were you going to tell me in the car?"
The next hour or so is spent with you two talking about each other, both of you giving out compliments as if there were no tomorrow. If it weren't for the sun being completely gone then you two probably wouldn't have noticed how long you've been alone together.
"Oh my god." Jisung exclaims. "What time is it?"
"Uhm.. Seven fifteen?" You respond, quite confused on why he was suddenly freaking out.
"We have to go, now. They're going to close the doors in like ten minutes."
"Oh. Okay!" You smile, eagerly skipping back to Jisung's car with his hand intertwined with yours. "We better get going then, huh?"
Tumblr media
"Y/n said that she might be late because she's with Jisung already." Donghyuck tells Renjun and Chenle once pull up in front of his house.
Renjun had driven both of them together due to them only being a block away from each other. Donghyuck on the other hand was going to drive you, but when you texted him that you were already with Jisung he decided to ask Renjun for a ride. "Sorry for the inconvenience.. by the way." He mumbles, buckling his seat belt.
"It's alright. Where do you think they went?" Renjun asks.
"Hell if I know. This is the most I've seen Jisung do for anyone." Donghyuck retorts, clearly bitter about being ditched by his best friend.
"Should we be worried?" Chenle asks.
"I don't think so." Donghyuck responds. "Y/n is her own person and she can handle herself, plus what the fuck is Jisung even gonna do? They probably went to take pictures or something."
Chenle shrugs. "I guess so. How are you doing then?"
"What do you mean?"
Chenle shrugs again. "You know what I mean. During the time you two fought you barely said anything to each other, it was just her hanging out with Jisung. Then, even after you made up she ditched us to hang out with him and even now they're probably on a date before the dance or something. How are you dealing with it?"
Once Chenle is done talking, Renjun shoots him a glare before hitting him lightly on the back of his head.
"Ouchie.. That hurt!" Chenle whines. "Aren't you supposed to be driving Junnie.~~" He teases.
"Yeah but I'm also trying to make sure no one fucking cries tonight." He hisses. "Why would you even ask that?"
"I dunno. Was curious I guess?"
"Haven't you heard the phrase curiosity killed the cat?"
"It's been alright." Donghyuck says to prevent Renjun from harming Chenle any more. "I haven't really thought about it I guess? I mean.. I was the one who assigned her to Jisung after all so.."
"Do you think she y'know? Likes him?" He asks.
"Chenle!"
"Whaaaat?? I'm just asking."
"Zhong Chenle you will drop this topic before I stop this car and make you walk to homecoming alone."
"You wouldn't do that. You love me too much."
"Don't try me." Renjun threatens, turning on his blinker.
"Okay okay.. god.."
"Are you two done arguing now?" Donghyuck asks, rolling his eyes. "And no, Chenle. I don't think she does. If she did she would've told me by now."
"Alright Hyuck.. Whatever you say."
Sooner than later the three arrive at school where Renjun drops off Chenle and Donghyuck to hop in the line already forming before leaving to park his car.
"Ask any more questions Lele, and you're walking home." Renjun threatens before Chenle slams the car door on him.
"I mean it this time!" Renjun yells as he watches the two boys walk away from him.
"So." Chenle starts as Renjun drives off. "What's your answer?"
Donghyuck gives him a confused look. "Answer?"
"To y'know.. the question."
"I already told you."
"No silly, I meant your real answer."
Donghyuck is silent for a second before he decides to answer.
"How did you know?" He asks, and Chenle giggles.
"You just told me." He laughs. "I didn't think you'd walk into that one, Hyuck."
"Oh shut up." Donghyuck teases. "It's not like it would matter or anything."
"I supposed you're right." Chenle hums. "But if it did.. Then what?"
"Then I'd tell her to get out of there." Donghyuck whispers to himself.
"Hm?"
"Oh- uh, nothing. I dunno." Donghyuck responds. He knows he has no chance in fooling Chenle but even after that response you'd know not to bother him about the topic anymore.
Once Renjun is done parking he meets up with the two boys and they discuss about how their night will go. While the line slowly moves Renjun argues with Chenle that they should take photos first. Chenle argues back saying that he wants snacks and that all the good ones will be gone if they wait too long. While this goes on Donghyuck has been sending you frequent texts.
[hyuck: hey! we're in line now! see you in a bit?]
[hyuck: are you on your way soon?]
[hyuck: pls hurry.. renle fighting.. dk what to do..]
Needless to say, you haven't responded to any one of them, leaving Donghyuck wonder what you were even doing.
After successfully waiting in line and making it through their schools quick security check, Chenle, Renjun, and Donghyuck had finally made it inside the gymnasium where the dance was being held.
Once inside they move to an quieter place, where they could talk without having to yell over the already loud music that's being played.
"What about you Hyuck?" Renjun asks. "What do you want to do first?"
"Hmm? What? Sorry." Donghyuck responds, checking his phone once more before pocketing it. "What's happening?"
Renjun frowns. "You weren't listening, huh?"
"No, sorry." He apologizes. "Y/n hasn't texted me back yet and I don't want to do anything until she gets here y'know?"
"Don't worry Hyuck, it's possible they're still outside or something. They just opened the doors y'know."
"Yeah I know.. I'm just.. yeah."
Tumblr media
Ten minutes later, you still haven't responded and the music is loud, but it's not loud enough to drown out Donghyuck's heartbeat as he frantically awaits your arrival. As each second passes by he begins to regret letting you go with Jisung, because you're never late, but the second that he lets Jisung control how your night starts you're ten minutes late and they're be closing the doors to the dance soon.
Renjun begins to notice that you aren't here either and decides walk over to Donghyuck to ask if he knew where you were.
"Hyuck, is Y/n here yet?" He asks, tapping his shoulder lightly.
Donghyuck gives no verbal response, instead he shakes his head while he fiddles with his phone checking back if you happened to text him. "I don't know where she is Junnie.."
"Hey, it's okay." He reassures. "It's not like she's in danger or anything, I know you don't trust Jisung that much but I doubt he'd do anything to hurt her. She'll be here soon, okay? I promise."
"Junnie~~" Chenle whines, popping up from behind them. "I'm boredddd. Can't we just do something already?"
"Lele, not now." Renjun shoos. "We're talking here."
"It's okay." Donghyuck says. "You guys can go do something, it's fine. I don't want to keep you from having fun tonight."
"Are you sure?" Renjun asks, he knows not to believe Donghyuck but he's getting quite annoyed at the fact that Chenle keeps pulling at his arm.
"Yeah. It's fine, if anything happens I'll text one of you."
"You heard him!! Let's go!!" Chenle exclaims before grabbing Renjun by the arm to drag him to god knows where.
"Chenle!" Renjun yelps. "I-I'll text you Hyuck! We won't be gone for long. I swear!" He yells back at him.
And then the two were gone. Leaving Donghyuck alone, by himself.
One of the worst feelings in the world is feeling alone, in a place full of people.
He doesn't know why he let them go off without him, maybe it's because he wanted to be alone, or maybe it's because he didn't know any better. But standing alone on the sides of a school dance, with no one to talk to really shows how lonely you are. He knows none of you meant to do it to him on purpose, it's just him overthinking things after all. But if he was okay with them leaving, then why did it hurt?
Deciding it was awkward enough to just stand there and people watch, Donghyuck decides to go back on his phone. He checks your text messages only to see no response. "Great." He thinks to himself. "You said you would be here, but you're not. I guess you did spend a lot of time with them after all."
Donghyuck feels himself about to cry when someone taps his shoulder. He closes his eyes trying to fight back the few tears that threaten to spill before having to talk to whoever was with him. He didn't want to answer any questions on why he was crying, only knowing that if someone asked him if he was okay he wouldn't be able to control them.
When Donghyuck looks up from his phone, the last person he expected to see is standing in front of him.
"Hi." Jeno greets. It's short, and airy. But it's just enough to get his heart racing. Is it from fear? Worry? Or is it from the fact that his ex, just so happened to catch him at the wrong place and wrong time.
"Hi." Donghyuck responds. It doesn't mean much because he didn't put any emotion into it, instead he decides to focus his attention elsewhere. He looks past Jeno towards the entrance of the gymnasium in hopes of seeing you walk in, spoiler alert, you didn't. "Chenle and Renjun picked the worst time to leave.." He thinks to himself. "I can't blame them though, after all I did tell them it was okay."
"You um- You look beautiful." Jeno compliments, giving Donghyuck a half-hearted smile. "So I've been told.." Donghyuck murmurs before attempting to push past the boy standing in front of him. "Listen. I don't have any time for this right now. Y/n said she would be here and she's not so-"
"Hyuck- Donghyuck, wait." Jeno starts, grabbing Donghyuck's wrist to prevent him from going any further.
"What the fuck? Let go of me!" He yells. It's loud enough to get the attention of a few people around him, but the music the DJ is playing is way to loud for them to have heard what he said.
"Hyuckie, I- Will you please let me explain?" Jeno practically begs, this is the first time that he and Donghyuck have interacted in person since the break up and he can already tell that he's blowing it.
"Don't- Don't call me that." Donghyuck states, hesitant to answer. "You've already explained yourself enough."
"Hyuckie.. Please. We haven't talked in months, you haven't let me say anything."
Of course, Jeno had to find Donghyuck in one of these moments, where one of their songs was being played by the DJ. It was one of the songs that Jeno had showed him, meaning it left such a big impact on his heart. He doesn't know what to do, does he accept Jeno's offer and let him explain? Or does he continue the rest of his high school career pretending that Jeno doesn't exist, leaving many questions unanswered.
Panic starts to fill Donghyuck as he looks around to see if anyone had noticed him and Jeno together. It would cause a bunch of talk, considering that fact that they were both pretty popular and that teenagers loved to start rumors.
He notices Jaemin as he spots Jeno from across the room, by the way Jaemin is walking towards them he can tell that he was looking for Jeno himself, clearly unhappy and very confused where he found him. He glances back at the entrance for a split second before looking towards the direction that his two friends had gone off in, only to see them walking back towards him, just as confused as Jaemin is. He can see the concern rise in Renjun once he sees who Donghyuck is with, as he grabs Chenle's arm to drag him across the makeshift dance floor that their school has created, where Chenle had decided to stop to talk to a few friends.
He looks back towards the entrance and to his luck he sees you and Jisung walk in. Thankful, he lets out a sigh of relief because he sees that you're here and that you're safe. He notices the smile that you have on your face and though he was a bit far away he can tell it's a genuine smile, like one of the one's you would show him when it was just you two hanging out. "I guess I worried for nothing." He thinks to himself, as he watches you two skip in, hands intertwined.
And amongst all this commotion happening at once, his ex, out of all people had to come up to him and ask him a question he knew he wouldn't be able to answer. So what does he do? He panics, of course.
"Oh my fucking god.." Donghyuck mumbles to no one in particular. Jeno seems to hear it but he doesn't process it because he's too busy being dragged by Donghyuck who was attempting to blend in with the big group of people who happened to pass by.
When Renjun, Chenle, and Jaemin end up where Donghyuck and Jeno were previously standing they're left more confused on where the two went. Though it's loud, Donghyuck manages to pick out Renjun's voice yell "What the fuck?" over a crowd of teenagers.
Donghyuck smiles to himself, knowing that he successfully got away. He didn't think it'd work, he'd only seen it in movies before and you know what people say, it's just movie magic after all.
"Where are we going?" Jeno asks innocently.
"Outside." Donghyuck responds, leading their way towards the "exit" sign on the other side of the gymnasium.
"Why?" Jeno asks once more, and Donghyuck turns around just to shoot him a glare.
"So no one. fucking. sees us." He grits through his teeth.
Needless to say, Jeno doesn't ask any more questions after that.

"Where is everyone?" You ask Jisung through the fit of giggles you let out.
"I dunno. Jeno isn't answering his phone so I'll call Jaemin, yeah?" He responds, just as giddy as you are.
"Oh, I was talking about Renjun, Chenle, and Hyuck."
"You can hang with us for a bit!" Jisung insists.
"I know but I haven't seen them all day." You pout. "I'll hang out with you after!! Besides, they're my best friends after all. How would you feel if I took you away from Jeno and Jaemin?"
"My dear you're allowed to do that any day of the week. I like you better than them anyways." He teases.
"Oh shut up. You know what I meant." You snort. "Can we just go find them please?"
"Yeah, hold on- Hi Jaemin!" Jisung says through his phone. "What? Sorry.. I can't really hear you. Is that Renjun? Why is he yelling at you?"
Your ears perk up hearing the name of your friend leave Jisung's mouth. "Renjun?" You ask, looking at him curious. "Are they okay?"
Jisung nods at you while trying to hear what Jaemin has to say, it's hard considering the fact that there's not only loud music coming from his phone speakers but the voice of an angry boy as well, and to add onto that, the same music being played just a couple feet away from you.
Pouting, you look at him. Jisung can tell you're worried about your friends by the way that your pupils shake as he pulls you into another tight hug, hoping to ease a bit of the worry.
From then you can kind of make out the conversation on the phone, it's something about Jeno and Donghyuck being together then suddenly disappearing out of thin air, like a magic trick.
"Where are you?" Jisung asks.
"We're in one of the back corners." Jaemin yells through his phone. "The uhh.. One on the right, your left."
"Okay. We're on our way." Jisung says before hanging up.
"I guess our night of fun had to end somewhere." He tells you before you two head further into the gymnasium to meet up with your friends.
Once you meet up with the three boys you're greeted with a hug from Chenle while you watch as Renjun and Jaemin argue.
"So they were right here?" You ask tapping Renjun's shoulder.
"Yeah. And then all of a sudden they disappeared." He says, quite frantically.
"Y'know worrying isn't going to do anything." Jaemin taunts.
"Yeah! And you making snarky comments doesn't help either!" Renjun shoots back.
"Can you two stop bickering a second?" Chenle snaps, surprising all of you. "We have no idea where the fuck they went and for the past five minutes all you two have done is argue? Why haven't we checked anywhere yet?"
"Because, Lele. They could be anywhere. We're in a room full of teenagers." Renjun states.
"For once, I agree with this one." Jaemin adds on, earning a glare from Renjun and a facepalm from Jisung.
"Okay? And? Have you ever thought about the fact that they could y'know, be outside?" Chenle asks.
"Why would they be outside?" You ask.
"Because it's loud in here, and it looked like they wanted to talk."
Tumblr media
"So.." Jeno says, swinging his legs back and forth. He was currently seated on top of one of the picnic tables your school had, while Donghyuck was standing across from him, leaning against the corner of a wall.
"You said you would explain, so explain." Donghyuck states.
Jeno takes a deep breath as he stops swinging his legs, he looks at the ground before looking up towards Donghyuck who was already looking at him, clearly annoyed at the fact that Jeno was stalling.
"It was a dare." He starts, before Donghyuck cuts him off.
"Yes I know. We all know." He spits.
"But theres more." Jeno says once again. "As you know, Jisung dared me to ask you out and me, being the asshole I was back then, I agreed and decided to do so.." He pauses for a second. Trying to think of what to say next.
"Listen are you gonna keep stopping or are you going to tell the story?" Donghyuck comments, it's only been two minutes and he's already fed up with Jeno's bullshit.
"I am. I'm just trying to think about the right words to say."
"Why? So that I can fall back in love with you?"
"No, Hyuckie-"
"I said, don't call me that."
"Why?"
"Because Jeno!" Donghyuck yells, voice cracking as he tries to control the same tears from earlier from falling. "I am still in love with you! Each time I hear you say that stupid nickname my heart does leaps and I can't fucking stop it!"
His voice is loud enough for you to figure out where he is, and while the other students outside look around trying to find out what's going on, both you and Renjun take off running towards the sound of Donghyuck's voice.
Arriving in time to hear Donghyuck finish the last words of his sentence he can't tell if he's hurt or if he's relieved to see you. A sense of relief washes over him once he spots you, Renjun, and Chenle running in his direction. But then he sees Jisung and Jaemin, not that far behind you three, and he feels hurt, betrayed to say the most.
"So this is why you asked me, huh?" He scoffs, looking at Jeno with glossy eyes. "So you and your friends can get a little more enjoyment of my misery."
"Hyuckie- I-" Jeno starts.
"Save it. I don't ever want to hear from you again, Jeno. I can't believe I even believed you would tell me the truth."
Nothing more is said as Donghyuck walks away from all of you, and Jaemin and Jisung run towards Jeno. It's quiet, despite there being the sounds of the muffled music that's only being played from a hallway away, it feels like a horror movie with the unsettling silence between all of you.
Renjun is the first one to talk. His voice not only startles you, but grabs the attention of Jeno, Jisung, and Jaemin who happened to be a few feet in front of you.
"What the fuck happened?" He asks, looking at Jeno in the eye.
"I wanted to tell him that I'm sorry.. and that I missed things the way they were.." Jeno says, voice barely above a whisper.
Both you and Chenle can tell that Renjun is about to start yelling and if someone doesn't stop him now then fists will be thrown. Renjun is about to start talking again when Chenle interupts him.
"Junnie." He says softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "It's not worth it. Let's just go find Hyuck, okay?" He eases.
Renjun takes a second to sigh and relaxes before deciding to head off with Chenle, he know's it'll only make things worse but he really wants to tell the three boys off and possibly throw a punch or two. "It's okay.." Chenle coos at him.
"Y/n, are you coming?" He asks, looking back at you.
"Uhh.. Yeah. Just give me a second. I'll meet up with you in a bit, okay? Just text me where you are." You say quickly before glancing over at Jeno and his crew.
Chenle looks at you, confused on why you were looking at Jeno. It only takes him a second to realize what you were doing before he walks off with a hesitant nod. "Um.. Okay.. Just uh, don't be long. I know Hyuck wanted to see you."
"Thanks Lele. You're the best." You say, before talking off towards Jeno.
"Lee Jeno." You state, standing where Donghyuck previously was. You earn a few glances from Jisung and Jaemin, ask if they were asking each other why you were here and how long you've been there. It's not because they were doing anything bad or wrong, it's because of the fact that they were caught being nice and genuine to one of their friends, something that barely anyone has seen before.
"Y/n." Jeno sniffs, trying his best to wipe away the tears that had managed to leak out. "What are- What are you doing here?"
"Save it." You say, walking towards him. You push Jaemin away as you take a seat on top of the table next to him. It earns you a glare from Jaemin, but you shrug it off and ignore him once he start's complaining that you stole his spot.
"Just- Just tell me everything." You sigh, awaiting a response from the boy next to you.
Jaemin shoots you another look before Jisung walks away with him, knowing this should be a private conversation. They don't go far though, just out of earshot.
"This is my fault." He starts. "If I just continued letting him hate me, then I wouldn't have hurt him like that.."
"It's not your fault, you just wanted to explain things. Do you want to tell me what you were going to tell him? Or is that too personal?" You ask.
Jeno is hesitant to answer. His first initial thought is no, but as the seconds go by his answer changes to yes.
"Start from the top. What happened?" You ask.
You're gentle, and being patient with him. It's something that he's thankful for. It's also something that reminds him of Donghyuck, because whenever the two of them had disagreements Donghyuck would always wait for Jeno to explain, this was the first time he hadn't.
"Okay well.." Jeno sniffs. "If you didn't already know.. Donghyuck and I used to date. Our relationship started off from a dare but as our months together passed by I began to enjoy his company a little bit more. I don't know what it was, and if you asked me I wouldn't be able to tell you but there was just something about him that I ended up liking. Maybe it's the way that his hair flopped on his face each time he ran up to me, or maybe it's because of how tightly he hugged me and how gentle his kisses were, but it was something." He pauses for a second, reliving through a few memories. "I ended up catching feelings.. and as soon as I figured out that I did, he found out how we got together."
"Oh." You sigh, not looking at him.
"I was going to tell him that I meant everything I told him.. All the 'I love you's' and the 'You look beautiful's' but he just wouldn't let me talk.. And then you guys came and that just- that only made things worse.. and now- god.. now he's gone. He said he never wants to see me again."
"I'm sorry, Jeno. It's my fault." You say softly, taking all the blame. "I'm the one who brought everyone here, if it weren't for me then you probably would be talking to him right now."
"It's okay." He reassures. "It's not your fault.. You just wanted to help your friend. I'm sure it would've gone poorly even if you weren't here."
"I doubt that's true."
"Are you kidding me y/n? He hates me! And he the worst part of it is that he has every right to do so.."
"I didn't know people who hated each other confess to each other about still liking one another." You joke, hoping to earn a laugh from Jeno. "Besides, it's not like you won't see each other again. You still have time to make things better, plus you have me on your side."
"My side?" Jeno asks.
"Well yeah. You still like him don't you?"
Jeno sighs, he's lucky you aren't paying that much attention to him because if you did you would've noticed the way he looked at Jisung and how it hurt him more to let you keep going on like this. Nonetheless he lets it happen and he wonders if he really does deserve your help.
"You're too good, y/n."
