OR in Part 8 what if Jake and Baby B did kiss on that dance floor and Bradley saw? What would Bradley’s reaction be and how honest would Jake be about his feelings in the moment to resolve the conflict.

Brother's Best Friend - What If Jake Confessed

Jake Seresin x Reader

Jake lets out a heavy sigh and closes his eyes, resting his cheek atop your head as you sink into his embrace. He strokes your arm gently with his hand, wondering just how much of this moment you might remember the following day. He’ll remember it forever, probably.

“Feel any better?” he asks, looking down at you.

You glance up at him with sparkling eyes and nod.

Jake brings his hand up to brush some hair out of your face. “Why are you crying, then?”

Your mouth trembles and a couple of tears slip down your cheeks. You wipe them away quickly and step away from him. “You wouldn’t understand.”

Jake stares at you, taken aback. “Try me.”

You give him an annoyed look, like he’s proposed something completely preposterous. You don’t respond, of course, because you’re stubborn as fuck. Jake throws his hands up in frustration when you turn and start stumbling your way back to the car.

“Careful!” he calls, jogging after you to make sure you don’t trip on your own feet. When he opens your door, he says levelly, “You’d tell me if he hurt you, right?”

You meet his gaze with a look of surprise. “Who?”

Jake narrows his eyes. “Your boyfriend?” he reminds you. “Are you okay?”

You drop your gaze and bring your hand to your head. “Oh, right,” you say. “Ignore me, I’m so fucking drunk.”

Jake watches in amusement as you try to determine which of your legs you should lift into the car first in order to exert the least amount of effort. “You’re hard to ignore,” he remarks affectionately.

You pause, halfway into the passenger seat, and lift your eyes to look at him. You’re frowning. “I am?” you whimper.

Jake gulps uneasily, staring back into your eyes. “Not for lack of trying,” he admits, hoping you’re too inebriated to register the meaning behind his words.

But you freeze, blinking at him mutely. Finally, you say, “You’re… trying to ignore me?”

Jake winces and rubs his forehead. Of all the girls he could have fallen for, why’d it have to be you? “Just seems like the appropriate thing to do,” he says, mostly to the ground now because he can’t face you, no matter how plastered you are.

“Um,” you mutter, your voice a little strained. “What would happen if you didn’t,” you ask quietly, “try to ignore me?”

Jake looks up at you warily. He tries to retain a relatively impassive expression, but he could feel the quirk of his eyebrows as they converge of their own accord. “Something inappropriate?” he posits.

You stare at him in astonishment. “Like what?” you breathe.

Jake wavers for a moment, wondering if you are, in fact, intoxicated enough to, by morning, forget what he’s about to do. Then, he steps around the passenger door and takes your hand in his. “Why were you crying?”

You eye him defiantly. “Why are you trying to ignore me?”

Jake drops his gaze to your lips for a split second before looking back at you pensively. “You wouldn’t understand,” he says softly, squeezing your hand.

You bite your lip nervously and squeeze back. “Try me.”

thank you all for the kind and encouraging and comforting messages. i took some time offline today and came back to the kindest things, and it reminded me that i have good people here.

for writing updates, i am looking to release that 3tan drabble, mami pt. 1, or this bbf jin request first and soon. tbh they may all come in quick succession bc I am prepping for more irl store events in oct and nov already.

for shop updates, the crop top orders are getting finished and will be sent out by monday. for layover orders, they should be out by the end of next week, rounding out the 4 weeks as expected. for international orders, hopefully they arrive around a month from ship date? it really depends but hopefully everything gets to y’all safe. if you have any questions, send me a dm or message off-anon, since we can talk about your order privately.

for personal updates, i’ll be okay. there’s just been a lot that’s happened in the last few weeks that i never talked about, which caused some online negativity to affect me more than normal. i will still be taking time to feel myself again, because there’s big things that i want to accomplish and share with all of you.

Myr. Warlock Moonglade ( @lunarisdog ) : Micah's Soulstar and closest friend and general close friend to the Starwake System. Deemed to be one of the most dangerous Antigods in the Antigodeus society.

Adoniram Bloodburn ( @fatefire ) : Micah's childhood best friend and ex partner. Dated since university graduation to late January 2024. His stability declined over time from his resurrection after he died during the car accident that Micah was involved with in April 2023. Adoniram left Micah's life for his mental sake from the trauma of seeing xem returned to life at the time xe was assassinated by Antiafter. His current whereabouts is unknown.

St. Steelstorm : Part of Micah's Hierotrinity / sacred bonded friend, good friend to the Starwake System, and Sweetsilence's partner.

St. Sweetsilence : Part of Micah's Hierotrinity / sacred bonded friend, good friend to the Starwake System, and Steelstorm's partner.

Det. Myster Strange : Micah's close friend and occasional detective partner. The first Antigod to [un]exist, as evolved from being the first Fallen Angel and Risen Demon, who is passionate of solving mysteries in the most chaotic and unconventional ways possible.

Ophis Cosmoboros : Micah's friend who is the Incarnation of the Ophiuchos and former leader of the Thirteenth House that fell from its betrayal before its exile from Solaris Kingdom. Cursed to roam on Earth forever until the fall of the world.

Father Lucas Lovewright : Micah's old friend and priest from Astereus' neighbourhood. An Antichrist from a different universe in which he have destroyed his own Earth by accident in its doomday before Angelparadox took him to his and Astereus' world with a promise of new life.

THE EVERLOVE. ( Micah's adoptive artistic and influential family who took xem in when xe was five years old after the death of xyr latest abusive foster parents. )

Maria : Micah's adoptive mother, famous once deep sea diver, artist, and actress.

Caelum : Micah's adoptive father, famous once astronaut, musician, and actor.

Evangel : Micah's youngest and closest adoptive sibling, currently in arts university as of autumn 2023 as she is aspired to work in the theatre acting industry.

Other adoptive siblings of Micah's are, from oldest to youngest : Valentine " V ", Eratus, Celeste, Felix " Lucky ", and Agatha.

THE PRIMORDIAL PANTHEON. ( A group of incarnated forces that exist since the Beginning of All, as Astereus is deeply linked to it through Micah being the child of the Sun, Moon, and Earth. )

Ilios : Micah's biological father, Solaris Kingdom's King who always exist in only sunlight, and Incarnation of Sun.

Fengari : Micah's biological mother, Solaris Kingdom's Queen who always exist in only moonlight, and Incarnation of Moon.

Gi : Micah's surrogate parent, Solaris Kingdom's healer, and Incarnation of Earth.

The Narrator : Incarnation of the Narrative itself who Micah occasionally meets at strange timings in dreams and reality across the storyline.

Fate : Incarnation of Fate who Micah generally is in opposition to due to xyr rebellious and unconventional nature against forces of destiny.

BREAK BEYOND FORCE. ( A secret institution of Antigods where Astereus formerly worked for from April 2023 to January 2024; have the goal of exorcising Metaeide, a malicious spiritual race that manifests as personal fears and traumas. )

St. Angelparadox : Vice Director of BBF and Vice Head of its main Kaileidom Division. Acted as Micah's private mentor after learning how extremely powerful xe was with xyr antienergy and wanted to help control and utilize xyr antiabilities.

St. Bluebreak : Director of BBF and Head of its main Kaileidom Division.

THE INFERNAL INFINITY. ( The main antagonistic group of ANHA storyline. Have been attempting to conquer the world and universe with making the Antigod race the new generation of All due to its capabilities of manipulating Fate. )

Sr. Devileye : Leader of the Infernal Infinity.

This took so long! And the reason was that I keep getting creative burn-out.

I've been wanting to do a headcanon post for the main siren character's (excluding the Calypso's) and this took way longer than I thought it would.

Key note

Along with the tattoos, another noticeable trait is the elf-like ears, each in different shapes and lengths.

Like in cannon, only 6 women can become sirens. There were instances of fake sirens which were women using make up to make tattoos and fake elf ears.

Sirens have a slightly longer life span than most humans, likely due to their demi-god status.

For now, I don't have a lot of headcanons for Sirens specifically. If I have more ideas, I'll update this.

Lilith

She gained a slight mutation due to both the Eridium usages and the forced ejections by Jack.

Freckles because she looks cute with them.

(Also I remember her vaultlander figure description called her the most powerful ginger in the world)

Hates Scythids. When she and her team first encountered them, she immediately jumped on Bricks shoulder and refused to get off until those "cockroaches from hell" were gone.

Was caught one night having a secret tea party with Butt Stallion (In her defense, she wanted a pony since she was 7).

Immediately adopted Angel once the whole Jack is dead thing settles down.

Maya

She's terrified of heights (somewhat cannon from her Runner dialog) mainly uses her wings for combat.

Before she came to Pandora, her hair was so long, that it was starting to trail behind her.

She cut it to her main style shortly after arriving at Pandora.

Did at one point consider going back to Athenas, but after Ava's situation with those monks, she ultimately decided to stay.

Has the biggest ears out of all the other sirens, but doesn't like to show them.

Axton did call her Dumbo once, she suplexed him and no one dared to call her that again.

Has a surprisingly strong sense of smell (somewhat cannon in the Wam Bam dlc where she was able to sense Hammerlocks moustache)

Loves mangos, like REALLY loves mangos. Give her a basket full of them and she'll die for you (medaforicly)

Angel (TW: mentions of abuse)

The scar on her left eye was from Jack trying to install an Echo Eye on her. Her body rejected it and Jack didn't even bother to remove it.

When Lilith found out, her silent fury was loud enough to scare a flock of Raks.

Struggled with eating without throwing up during her recovery, took her awhile to eat solids.

Pre-rescued: Jack would constantly put make-up on her not only to cover the bruises he gave her, but to also cover her freckles, a trait she gained from her mother.

Similar to Lilith, she gained a mutation from the Eridium usages, but her's is more noticeable due to years of constant Eridium ejections.

A lot of her clothes were hand-me downs from Lilith

Tannis

Her Phasesight powers were originally Steele's. However since Steele never chosen a successor, her powers were given to Tannis.

Used her illusion ability to hide both her tattoos and her ears.

Acts as Angels crazy aunt, to which everyone is surprised that those two got along very well.

Amara

Is BBF (Best Buff Friends) with Krieg, Brick, and Mr. Torgue. The four did an arm wrestling contest that ended in a draw between Amara and Krieg.

Loves gummy candy, especially ones with fruit juice in the center. Moze would usually have a tin with her whenever she's with Amara.

(Speaking of which, don't leave a fruit drop tin alone with her, she'll devour them all in one sitting)

Ok I really doubt that Amara can even summon wings, but let me pretend because Amara with multiple wings sounds cool!

Ava

Her parents died not because she accidentally leached them, but because the monks of Athenas wanted to take her with a bullshit excuse that there's a great evil coming.

They didn't believe the monks, which caused them to take her by force.

It ended with the monks killing her parents, and Ava leaching the monks.

Has a pretty big appetite, likely due to her siren powers.

(But more like she'll sneak into the kitchen at 2am to steal food kind of appetite than draining people's souls)

Total cringe fail. But to be fair, she's 14, and 14 year olds are allowed to be a little cringey, as long as it's harmless.

Her siren wings are based on the wings Troy uses in his boss fight.

I'll spoil some things for Sung Jinwoo X Wen Ruohan, how about that?

With the expansionary policies of the Wen Sect (aka taking over many smaller sects and recruiting rogue cultivators), the other sects take note and do the same. It's very much an imperialistic race to conquer and colonize the other sects (like the European powers slicing up Africa and Asian ahem).

So rogue cultivators? Far and few.

Wei Wuxian's parents thus are part of the Jiang Sect and are still alive in this AU; they were rogue cultivators for a few years until the rather insistent Wen recruiters trying to get their headhunting commission (cough much like how job recruiters today can make big bucks for successful job candidates) so they went back to the Jiang sect to become officially affiliated. They still act much like rogue cultivators, but, you know, being officially affiliated still means something.

Add in Wei Changze's bbf (best buddies forever) status with Jiang Fengmian and you get a Wei Wuxian who's more highly regarded by the cultivation world because who cares as much about social status/class when power is more important - power and money.

(Imperialism and colonialism - or at least for British Empire and I'm still using a wide paintbrush for describing this - the social hierarchy was a lot more flexible for the monopole center. Families gain great status and class with the wealth they could claw from the colonies. Indentured servants who traveled to the Americas worked off their years of service and were able to acquired land and slaves afterwards thanks to good timing and buying cheap land before its value and price skyrocketed.)

With Wen Ruohan serving as a leader for both the cultivation world AND the mortal realm - notice how he's establishing schools and domestic policies that impact tradesmen, roads, local politics, and more? - the cultivation world wakes up to the value of the non-cultivation world and is now imposing more control over the local towns and cities. The extraction of wealth (cough taxes) naturally is one form of control; but propaganda and the flow of information is another.

Does Wangxian happen? Sure, but here it's tainted by the fact that the Lan and Jiang are seeing another opportunity to establish another strong alliance via marriage. There's more eyes on the couple - more to criticize, more that wish to undermine such a relationship, more to gossip. As much as there are those who wish to throw Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji into nice neat boxes of gender expectations, there's those who want to profit off such things (the yellow books, gossip columns, matchmakers who see more opportunities to throw concubines at the two, etc.). The fate of Lan Wangji's mother was a well kept secret... which means that naturally it will get leaked out and weaponized at some point.

The political instability is both a result and response to Wen Ruohan making his imperialistic desires clear and obvious to all. There's more shuffling of cultural norms and more social mobility but there's also more bottom-up movements -religious revivals, fearmongering events (cough like the Salem witch trial) - that are a response to the social chaos and economic unpredictability.

Okay, that's enough rambling from me. Not even sure if all these random thoughts make sense, but here you go.

Thanks for asking and sorry for answering this a bit late. I wanted to write a rec anyway, so anon, your timing’s excellent! There are a few things, however, I need to clear up first: I’m not suggesting here, that these are the best fics ever written in the fandom, this is not a hall of fame. This is a collection of my comfort fics as a reader who loves to read intricate and unlikely AUs about Siuan/Moiraine and plotless stories about That weird thing Lan and Moiraine have. I’m 100% sure there are great fics out there about Rand&Mat and the Polycule(tm), it’s not a judgement of value that I’m leaving stuff out. 

Also before the rec, psst here’s my wishlist of the things I’d love to see on AO3: the “How I met your Greenman” story, outtakes from Birgitte’s lives, an entire story from Aviendha’s POV. If you’ve read anything similar, hmu pls (I mean I was desperate enough to write a Birgitte story recently, rip.)

An incomplete list of fics I adore (might write a 2nd part):

Their Dinners by aptasi (T)

A truly in-character piece about Lan and Moiraine: there is no dialogue, they are just having dinner in complete silence and that’s the entire plot. Such a brilliant story, I’d say this is my favourite but aptasi has tons of gutting short stories  and I’m not able to just choose one. aptasi also writes amazing  Rand & Moiraine dialogues, the kind that leaves you staring out of the foggy window, rethinking your ways.

echoes of her dynasty by alittlelesspain (E) There are so many things in this fanfic I still think about every once in a while, just to list a few of them:

- Alric has an actual personality in this story?? he’s the saltiest ace/aro Warder and I absolutely loved how being someone on the grayscale was not depicted as being innocent or clueless about stuff, but “When she looked up, Moiraine was staring at her, not the puzzle. “Oh,” said Alric in a voice of revelation, when Siuan got back to the inn that night, puzzle dangling uselessly from her hand, and brain equally useless to holding any sort of sensible conversation with him. “I understand now. She’s equally pathetic.”

- most of the story is from Siuan’s POV which is a relatively rare thing and it was so amazing to stay in her mind for a while. Technically this story is a Very Reluctant Sun Queen AU where Moiraine re-builds Cairhien with her Dream Team (Siuan, Alric, Lan and Bukama) instead of becoming Aes Sedai. There are also heavy Beauty and the Beast undertones, as the story starts with Siuan encountering the last surviving Damodred lurking in the Royal Library with her stone faced Borderlander bbf

- a battle is won because Siuan loves to chat with Ogier stonemasons and re-uses a centuries-old waterway for her tactics.

- a lot of this fic is about the importance of rebuilding lost knowledge and making education more accessible. The entire thing has such a positive message while keeping the reader on their toes by staying brutally realistic at the same time. Ugh, just make a huge pot of tea and read this.

The Path of Fires and Foxes by LarraineLynch (M)

Time-travel AU from multiple POVs and I loved reading all of them. The first book of this series is already finished, it’s so intricate and masterfully woven that I don’t know how to describe this story, I just want to say that her weekly updates kept me going through a vacationless summer. What I liked best about it was 1. that instead of pitting women against each other the author lets them communicate (or for Moiraine’s part, manipulate, but we love her nonetheless) and plot against the system 2. it felt so gross to read about stilling men then leaving them to go crazy and die alone through the series and finally, this fic addresses this waste of human life and potential and creates an amazing solution.

Moiraine and Siuan have a debate about the metaphysical nature of time and the Wheel while having sex. I had to go for a 10k run after reading this to be able to function as a person for the rest of the day, thanks.

To the dudes, the dames, the gays, n nonbinary untameds, i decided to make a post about some of the problematic ish I've seen going on in the Sims Community to spread some awareness. Just cuz it's been some time since a few things happened dont mean ppl shouldnt know about it. Ijs.

Alotta ppl spoke up and out about MAS so you'll be able to find the allegations against them on a few of the accounts I mention.

I remember there was a list that was made during that time w/names associated with MAS so i wanna do my due diligence and add that if you stumble upon said list, it's been confirmed by @/helllo.itsryan that @/kylebentl2018 is not associated with MAS or their accounts in any way shape or form nor has he ever condoned the actions that were portrayed on TheLittleDollFace's account.
