your eyes graze over the beautiful flowers planted into the ground, the vines growing over the walls in twisted patterns, and the beautiful deep blue sky while it waited for the moon to fall dusk on it. walking onto the estate, your heart pumped faster, not knowing what to expect from this palace.

this palace is a place from storybooks, hundreds of rooms, and amazing victorian architecture. it's the kind of place you could explore for days and not be able to see everything. you were staring at it in awe as the sunset beat on your face. its the early 2000s, intricate architecture is dead now, this place comes from old money.

the sims, they ruled over the region of south korea. now they are working on annexing switzerland. which is where you are now. they were a powerful family that was known for extending their territories across the globe. you were shitting bricks to even be in this family's presence.

the family's chauffeur walked alongside you, and helped you carry your baggage to where you will be staying in their house. you had many suitcases. they were carrying all of your clothes, oil paints, and supplies.

you walked the paved concrete with beautiful designs, taking in every detail, seeing how the sun hits the ground, how the shadows linger in between the cracks.

knock knock knock

the chauffeur used the door knocker, the knocks are heavy and prolonged.  the man who opened the door for your was what seemed to be a butler. the chauffeur left the bags in the foyer of the house. the butler had a small smile on his face and welcomed you to the estate.

"welcome to this estate ms. y/n." the butler said with a small bow. "i will lead you to your room." he swiftly turned around to lead you there. he had a slim silhouette, trimmed eyebrows, little amounts of hair on his head and pointy shoes.

"thank you sir." you reply. you didn't know the formalities.

"i have worked for the sims for 3 decades, i will be here to accommodate any of your needs during your stay. you may refer to me as valentino." he says as he walks through the hallways.

as you walked through the various rooms of the house, you feel immediately inspired by the artwork surrounding you. the architecture of the house was old, victorian, beautiful and intricate. the endless colors and different shades of greens, blues and pinks painted on the walls. every room had a different vibe and tone, but every room was beautiful. there were luxurious woody fragrances that you picked up on. there were huge windows spanning from the floor to the ceiling. 

as you looked out of the window to your left, there was a patio. a man sat there, while he sat on a beautifully carved wood bench. this man had a journal in hand, writing like he was running out of time. he was extremely beautiful, like Aphrodite herself had bestowed a fraction of beauty onto him.

though there was glass separating you two, you felt as if his aura was seeping into your skin. maybe it was the glow of the sun reflecting off of him, but he has such a innocent beauty radiating from him.

he had a very strong jaw, with soft eyes. he was deep in thought with his furrowed brow, while he bit down on his lower lip.

there were beautiful flowers behind him, the golden sun was starting to shine down on him, and the sky was turning pink. while he sat on the bench, a light blond dog ran up to him.

the man's face changed from serious and deep in thought, to lighter expression. a small smile was forming on his face while he petted his dog. you stopped to watch.

you had realized that you weren't following valentino anymore. fuck

there was a set of stairs that he could've gone up to, or the hallway to your right which lead to another room. "damnit" you whispered to yourself. how can you already mess this up.

"ah!" a high pitched voice from a woman calls out. she has an expensive australian accent. "you must be y/n! it's nice to finally meet you. jay has told me so much about your work!"

"nice to meet you elspeth." you hold your hand out to shake hands with her, she looks at it, and slowly looks up at you, then back down to your hand. she was the woman who was in change of the estate. a very important woman, she is the one who hired you.

she gives a dirty look and gives a small bow, "you may find your living quarters." as she looks away. she immediately went to page someone as she walked away.

the interaction left you feeling confused and felt a pit in your stomach, knowing that was a bad first impression. you knew she was the main woman in the house. you knew there were two women and two men you would be doing portraits on.

"y/n!" a sharp snap of a man's voice. you find his face to match the voice, and it is valentino.

his demeanor started as upset, and quickly shifted to a calmer one. "it seems that i have lost you there. follow me up to your room."

you walked up the carpet lined stairs to the room.

"your bags are all here. we searched them and everything seems to be good." he says while closing the doors.

you immediately sit on the bed and take a deep breath to decompress from what had just happened. as you look around the room that you are in, you see how marvelous it is.

the tall ceilings, the walls are painted a rich red, with accents of chartreuse and gold. the bed was king sized, with long curtains draped from poles that were part of the bed frame. the slightly opened window let in the soft sunset and a quiet breeze.

turning your attention, there was a huge vintage wooden dresser. gliding your fingers along the edge of it, you got a splinter in your middle finger.

"ah!" you say in a moment of pain. you immediately go to pick it out of your skin and you get it. there are some band aids in your backpack which you reach to get. 

while doing some more exploring you find a cd player and lots of cds, madonna, MGMT, rihanna, gwen stefani, and destiny's child. there was some good shit in here, with lots of obscure artists who you've never listened to, but you will have lots of time to get to know them.

stuffing away all of your clothes, books, and bags took some time. by the time you finished, you threw your body on the bed. letting your muscles relax. today had been long, with the travel, weird out of touch rich people and feeling grimy. you had to shower.

you walked into the bathroom and it was just how you expected, fancy. on the counter, there was a beautiful vase with intricate designs. the vase was filled with in bloomed roses. it was very nice, there were 4 towels folded, with a handwritten note on top of them.

“be sure to call the service line when you need fresh towels.”

you placed the note on the sink and turned on the shower.

night time

you had been rotting in your huge bed for the past few hours. after showering, you lounged in the robe that was hanging in the closet for you. you did some skincare.

you needed some brain stimulation, after all, you were going to be using your brain a lot. painting took like of thinking, analyzing and thought. it made you feel like your brain was more of a muscle than a fatty organ with the way you felt like you were always challenging and working out your brain.

doing fine art was like working out for you. making you stronger, and it made you explode with endorphins. color theory, composition, anatomy, all of it. creating art makes you feel like you are your most authentic self. so, you decided that since you were here on a work trip, you needed to do some practice.

anatomy was your favorite, the way the body was created. drawing and analyzing the human figure was amazing to you, you had a deep connection with it. the way muscles, arteries, veins and fat lay on top of each other. the way the muscles and bones created movement, form and shape. you could learn about it forever. drawing from life was your favorite.

you went into the bathroom and took your robe off. you didn’t usually do self portraits from the mirror, because it is a bit challenging. it was nothing sexual, you just didn’t feel like drawing anything else right now.

your robe was now off your body, and you were looking at yourself wondering how you should pose. this felt kinda awkward for you, but why should it? it’s just you, alone.

you stood there for a second, moving your body in different ways to see what would look good. you decided to go for a sensual pose where you had your left hand grazing your left boob, with a rose in your hand. and your body was leaning a little.

you would take classes down at your local art school, so this was nothing irregular for you. random strangers would pose for the art classes you would take.

sketching your body was easy, detailing was a little more difficult, but nonetheless, you could do it easy. the rough sketch took no more than 3 minutes, getting the shape down. then after a few minutes, you started detailing, adding shadows, value and tone.

you suddenly jumped at a knock at your door.

“y/n. it is supper time in 5 minutes. be sure to come down.” valentino’s stern voice says to you.

“okay valentino. thank you.” you yell back as you were surprised. you subconsciously covered yourself with your hands out of fear that he would open the bedroom door and see you naked in the bathroom.

you rushed to get ready for dinner. you didn't know that were was a mandatory dinner. you didn't know what to wear. you didn't have many fancy things, so you just slipped on your cutest "formal" outfit. this would be the first time you meet the family.

the five minutes have passed and you put some makeup on, you looked cute. you went downstairs to see the headmaster and his wife eating without you. they were laughing to each other. you walked in and they all stopped to look at you. you felt the air get heavy and awkward.

the dining room was extremely huge. beautiful table settings, and a marvelous ceiling with renaissance paintings. the table was also huge, even though there were only a handful of people eating on it. elspeth and her husband sat at opposite heads of the table. a harpist was performing in the corner, playing strings of beautiful harmonies. the live music was so good.

elspeth looked at you with an annoyed expression on her face. the annoyed expression turned into a grin. valentino stood there, along with servers who started at the wall, waiting for a command to come their way. "why valentino, do not be a drag to young y/n? set her a plate at the table. she is our guest after all." she had a chuckle to herself. "be a darling and sit next to me y/n? i would like to talk to you about your work." 

you walked over, sitting in the empty chair nearest to elspeth, chuckling in embarrassment. did valentino purposely give you a late heads up? what the fuck.

there were only 2 people at the table. elspeth, and elspeth's husband, sir james

"i thought i was supposed to be doing 4 portraits?" you thought to yourself.

"tell me darling, why are you so late?" elspeth laughs to herself. she was being passive aggressive towards you.

"i'm so incredibly sorry. i was not aware that there would dinner at a specific time." a pit in your stomach is arising.

"well yes, there is always a list of all daily activities in all rooms. every morning they are delivered." she looks at you as if you're stupid." valentino, be a dear and check if there is one in y/n's room for me."

you did nothing. you said nothing. you sat there embarrassed, you have been staying for 5 seconds and already feel unwelcome here.

"i hear you're a very talented young girl." sir james tells you.

"thank you. i'm very grateful to be able to-" you were cut off by a sudden clap by sir james.

a server comes close down to sir james, and kneels down to him. the server then brings out a small bag with a white substance. a small spoon, and puts it to sir james' nose. he snorts the substance.

"WHEW!" a loud yell comes out of his mouth as a reaction from the drugs, with a euphoric look in his eyes and his hand hitting the table. he squeezed the tip of his nose and looked back at you.

"i feel the most inspired when im using my sensory extenders. lets talk about art. so i wa-" he says before cutting you off.

"oh yeah!" you said to go along with his ideas. you spurted that out due to not knowing how to handle this situation. on the inside, you were shitting. this man that you've never met just did fucking cocaine in front of you, and you will be living with him for the next few months.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP. let me finish." he yells at you for interrupting you in his sentence.

you physically felt yourself get taken aback. the hairs on your arm stood up. you felt your face getting hot, your throat closing and your eyes tearing up. you felt frozen in fear.

"darling, do not talk to our guest like that." elspeth replied with a stern look, and a champagne glass in hand.

for a few moments, you just sat there, not knowing what to say. you looked down at your empty plate, trying not to cry.

you heard someone running into the dining room for on the other room. it was the man from earlier with the journal. he ran in looking concerned, but he slowed down once he got inside.

“what's going on. mom are you okay?" he comes in, but he seems as if this is nothing new. as if this is something that happens often. you and him lock eyes.

elspeth looks away in shame “im so extremely sorry y/n. we are sophisticated people with class.”

sir james sits there, looks at you and claps once more. the man from earlier looks at his dad in anger, looks at you, and goes over to you and elspeth.

he whispers into his moms ear and she just looks at him with a disappointed look. the man leans down to you and asks if you want to go with him.

“i know this must be overwhelming. my dad isn’t usually here most of the time. i’ll just take you somewhere else if that’s okay.” he says in his soft australian voice. he grabbed out your hand to kiss the back of it. “my name is jake sim by the way.”

This piece is by @vanessa-the-mewtwo! I love how you changed the horns into leaves, it’s such a cool idea! The colors are awesome too, the details of the spots on the tail and the fade into red at the tip just really add to the piece. Amazing work!

This one is by @definitely-not-a-mew! Ok, this is ADORABLE. TOE BEANS!!!! I LOVE THE TOE BEANS!! The colors are outstanding, I love how you have some many different shades of orange and red throughout the body, it looks super cool!

This adorable mew is by @ghost1289! I love how you went with the more red colors, it looks so cool and powerful! The energy ball is AWESOME AS WELL!! The mix of colors in it, with the black on the inside and the oranges and reds on the outside just makes it pop. Plus, having the tail be a leaf? Super cool!

This adorable ‘two is by @haycoat! First of all, that little bow is so cute oh my god. And the little smile on its face?! AAAAAA!!!! I love how you started with orange for the body, and then slowly faded down to a red-orange for the legs. And then having the yellow of the tail interrupt the orange color scheme? It’s such a good idea!

Two leaves for the tail, a bit on their second next, and one the top of their head! Plus, the flowers for ears?!! Amazing!!!!!

at first he doesn't really notice the ring, "oh! that animation is different than normal" he notes, but mainly focuses on the beanie, comparing it to himself before he glances at chat to see them freaking out over the planet duck reference

he once convinced you to make a texture pack and a shader (meant for both to be active at the same time), the fans loved it and a lot of them use it more often than the original!!

tommy however, not to much, proud of you bc that must've been a ton of work!! but at some time it slipped his mind that you make indie and horror games; I think we all know he doesn't do well with horror games

so you liking horror and such made the textures look more ominous and just make it look like and area you don't want to be in, and the spook goes up even more with the shader!! it's darker than usual, there's unusual fog, the portals look too dangerous now, so on and so forth yk

so,, tommy didn't use the texture pack for long;;

if you ever raid him after you're done streaming and he has a question, he's literally just gonna ask you on stream

"y/n raid? oh! are they still here?" when you confirm you're in chat, he continues "great! okay I had a question about your new game that's going to be available soon and how to download it-"

fans love how casual you guys are about game information, like you had to teach him how to export a game character he made on the website you usually make yours on (it was for a fun stream) and it was just a simple back and forth but everyone's like omg :((( omg them :((

also if you're the type of person to go insane over tiny details in other games, he will absolutely tease you for it

like you can just be going on and on about how this game had a sentence at the start that had a backhanded meaning by the end and he's just gonna call you a nerd (genuinely thinks is cool how much of the small things you notice in games though)

and there's a 50% chance that when you go into your "enderwalk" state (the blackout) you blow something up, so there may or may not be an explosion somewhere nearby, you also have a 20% chance of building something small in you enderwalk state :)

if your way of learning is teaching then he'll gladly be the person you teach it to if you want! most likely won't use the information therefore his brain won't retain it but that's not on you, and the whole reason is so you can learn, not him, so! ^^

will make sure to take care of yourself, and he has a through way of telling if you have or not bc he's known you for long enough to know that even if you try to hide it a little bit of your tired voice shows so he knows if you've been sleeping like you should

I’m going to be moving from the assumption that they’re like Comte/Leo; very sympathetic to humanity and sometimes have existential crises (trauma babeyyyyyyyyy). As such, I’ll also be assuming she’s not super close to her family given she rejects the larger vampiric hierarchy/superiority paradigm, memes and modernity, all that jazz

Absolute baby, he has decided this is his grandchild--no he will not change his mind or take constructive criticism. Get’s ESPECIALLY concerned when he starts to see signs of that “nothing in life matters 😎” nihilism, but doesn’t pester them about it or becomes naggy. Growing up he had similar issues with the prospect of eternal life surrounded by creatures with a mortal lifespan, so he doesn’t judge. He’s more like nah we all hit that vibe, let’s see if we can get their mind off it c: I feel like Gen Z really understand and appreciate the importance of culture and art, so I feel like they would bond a ton over trips to museums/plays/concerts! Invites them to tea time if he ever sees them particularly silent (ah yes, repression) or particularly tired, and does his best to ensure their safety without being intrusive (has briefed the men to escort/accompany her as needed, though Sebas usually does it).

If he sees fangs out around baby he will thrash the shit out of the perpetrator--unless it’s an accident. No excuses. That’s a child. Doesn’t give a FUCK if they’re another pureblood even with all the arranged marriage bullshit. He said what he said. (Remember that biting between vampires or vampire + human relations is considered something that’s only done between intimate partners, so he is having none of that for a minor)

Leonardo’s reaction:

Also certified granddad, but he’s the one that enables shenanigans and is just like “oh worm” when it comes to the existential dread (it’s a Tuesday). At first though Leo is basically that meme like: (Stupidman = Leo, Maddie = MC)

Not all purebloods are necessarily dangerous, but most are either incredibly indifferent to the plight of others (especially humans) or actively range from like playing social mind games to being sociopathic murderers/etc. the list goes on. As such, Leonardo is suspicious to no end until he sees that the kid really doesn’t have any ill will in her. She jokes with Sebas (they quote vines on the daily) and works with him normally; even when Leo asks Sebas he’s just “????? bro she’s just my kouhai, thanks for worrying tho”. One day he’s tasked with escorting her to grab groceries and assorted things for the mansion, and she freezes in place before bolting across the street. Turns out she saw a kid trip in the road and fall, and a carriage was moving fast from the other side--it likely wasn’t going to be able to stop. She scoops up the kid and holds them close, and when the parents try to thank her profusely she just seems more uncomfortable with the praise than triumphant. She didn’t want the kid to get hurt. If she could do something about it, it was as simple as that.

From that point on they’re hella chill and hang out together, usually just bonding in silence. If they’re an artist, he’ll offer them pointers and technique manuals--will help however he can. If not, they’ll just be reading together in the library now and again. If she falls asleep, he’ll tuck her in and watch over her (cue red eye meme when the door opens, but then it’s just Vincent so he c:). He’ll often pay close attention to her eating habits to make sure nothing’s amiss with her health since she’s still a growing pureblood. If she struggles with what she is a lot (given she’s sympathetic to human beings) he’ll synchronize his Rouge drinking with hers to make sure she doesn’t starve herself ;-;. Even if she’s just forgetful about drinking/eating, he’ll do what he can to make her life easier (that’s how he shows his affection uwu)

He will, of course, also tease her about being a baby until she kicks him in the shin while Comte sighs and tells him to knock it off with a smack upside the head

Napoleon’s reaction:

Not granddad energy, but you better believe he’s in a weird territory between sheer admiration and “I am your older brother now, eat your vegetables” “But I don’t even need vegetables” “Eat your vegetables and I’ll take you to a crepe shop” “............deal” 

Basically it’s unlikely MC is super close to her siblings or even has any (pureblood children are a rare feat) so she’s like......wary, but then she just ???? this is.....kinda nice? Just having somebody that cares in a chill way, but still fully encourages her to throw men across the street if they’re hurting women/children (high fives her every time). He’ll often invite her to the swordplay lessons with the kids alongside Isaac’s teaching; she’s free to join in the learning, or honestly just hang out with people closer to her age (he’s v concerned about her having friends that she can relate to and talk to freely). 

Protective in a subtle way, like Leonardo. Escorts her places and helps her carry groceries without fail when Sebas is running other errands. She becomes his crepe shop cover buddy whenever he has an intense hankering for sweets: “wanna go to that crepe shop around the corner” “you’re just too chicken to go alone, fool” “do you want crepes or not nunuche” “............BOKBOKBOK” “aight that’s it **gives her a noogie**” (they go anyway and have a marvelous time rating the crepes from best to worst, they got a whole list goin’) 

Glares Arthur down if he so much as LOOKS in her direction

Mozart’s reaction:

Mozart is just the “what is with this sassy, lost child?” meme. Doesn’t dislike them, but they are just not remotely threatened by his haughty disdain by any extension. And he HATES IT. The MC is always just “Okay, boomer” and he just ?????? He doesn’t know what it means but it’s openly dismissive, so he mad.

Like idk if y’all know this meme, but it’s the same energy as:

It’s only when he notices she’s always punctual and careful with his requests that he starts to warm up. For example, she makes him a mocha by combining the way he likes his coffee and hot cocoa to perfection when he falls asleep at his piano. (She feels bad for him after Comte explains because--though he’s got a stick up his butt--he’s clearly distressed in his new surroundings ;-; Plus, the kind of perfectionism Mozart exudes is an extension of internalized shame, and when she begins to see that she really shifts her approach.) As such, he begins to soften to her presence. He begins to see that she isn’t indifferent to his existence, it’s more that she sees no need for intimidation and believes admiration is earned (basic respect isn’t a privilege, it’s a right). When he figures that out, he stops being so barbed and terse--starts to relax. Offers to let her stay and listen to his pieces if she wants, and she’s honestly touched given his clear struggle with vulnerability. Cuddles with Schelm at the window as he plays, and they become good friends. 

As a result, Mozart becomes fiercely protective despite her sturdier nature as a pureblood and has hissed venom at Arthur about the fact that she is off fucking limits. Doesn’t leave her alone in the same room as the other men unless it’s with Jeanne or Comte; he don’t trust like that.

Arthur’s reaction:

Sweating a lot at the sudden collection of baleful eyes sticking to his back everywhere he goes, but figures he brought it on himself to an extent. That being said, he can’t really get a word in edgewise given she just walks away when he tries to engage in conversation or compliment her.

Tough nut to crack this one, but he doesn’t let it discourage him. The only way she’ll give him the time of day is to play chess--and she kicks his ass soundly every single time. He’s fascinated by her extensive analytic ability, but she keeps silent about her strategies and thinking. Dazai and Theo always love to watch him get his ass handed to him, but he considers it a really interesting experience; it gives him insight into her mind, no matter how much she tries to hide. Patient, efficient, brutal--this kid has seen some shit, probably.

It’s after that point he just concedes she probably won’t let him in, though it doesn’t diminish his curiosity about the future; and perhaps traces of dread. What does the future look like for both her and Sebastian to be that stoic and aloof? It worries him...

Vincent’s reaction:

Vincent is v v impressed by her sense of self, and honestly sees a lot of Theo in her. She’s a little more reticent than Theo, but she has this same commitment to protecting the vulnerable and penetrating through the lies/shitty convictions of others. She is not a person who bends easily, but even so there’s a quiet kind of gentleness to her: she always chats to him v calmly, asks if he needs anything and is doing okay, doesn’t get impatient when he drops things or forgets his apron for the laundry. I think he would respond very positively to her presence, even if it wasn’t intentional. He just brightens up like a little sun and asks her out to picnics for fun; he has no greater intention than enjoying her smile and silly antics (he doesn’t always understand the references, but the way she executes it with so much dry wit--like Theo--makes him laugh). He just feels the warmth of family/familiarity around her ;~;

Ironically, they’re both exceedingly concerned for the other because they’re too self-sacrificing jkashlgdks like this is 100% a case of “I can’t let a young lady risk getting hurt” “Vincent I’m literally indestructible please just let me do this” “But it still hurts” “But I don’t want you to scar--” (This conversation extends so long that the author felt it would be more beneficial to add an etc. here). 

He admires her and trusts in her abilities more due to the nature of her maturity, treats her like a cherished friend and sometimes younger sibling (not condescending but very indulgent; gives her the last of his sweets for example, or pats her on the head when she’s feeling gloomy--more of a wholesome puts her first). But make no mistake, he will throw hands in milliseconds if she gets ganged up on or can’t handle a threat--he just lets her handle most things bc she’s capable~

Isaac’s reaction:

Torn. Because on the one hand, she’s very serious and conscientious about her work--doesn’t want to inconvenience or trouble anyone--and he relates to that heavy.

HOWEVER.

She’s also got insanely chaotic energy when the mood strikes, so when Dazai starts doing his random shitfuckery you better believe MC is upping the ante. (I’m talking AH. ENSLAVED MOISTURE. levels). So Isaac essentially oscillates between thankful for her fortitude to bashing his head against a table for every second he knows her.

In all seriousness though, I would see Isaac as being pretty concerned. Like Vincent, they’re both self-sacrificing to a fault--and he doesn’t want that for her, especially given how young she is. Often tells her not to overdo it or to ask for help if she looks overwhelmed, though it’s not condemning; he says it softly with a neutral look on his face. (He considers it a Certified Mood^TM). He just wants to give back all the care she puts into helping around the house. He doesn’t feel right watching a kid work so hard without reminding her that she should find time to have fun and live for herself too. There will be plenty of time when she’s older to get serious.

He has a fairly easy time interacting with her because of his experience with kids; he takes her seriously (when she’s not clowning) and treats her autonomy with respect. If anything, she’s probably the protective one. She knows he’s an aberrant so she pays laser attention to when he’s suffering and brings him Rouge (not scared because she’s stronger than him and not human lmao, and she sees no need to put Sebastian at risk). When that uni pres pesters him, she goes cold and angry and asks the man to step off when she sees him start to downspiral. They’re essentially on equal footing (he has more life experience, she has more bodily strength/confidence). They're just chill and kind with each other (babies of the mansion, beloved by all).

Theodorus' reaction:

Because he is a manchild, he will be chill/generally indifferent until Vincent starts being indulgent with her (bro-con). He won't be violent or anything like that, but he will pout a storm and try to verbally shoo her away. Because she's a woman, intelligent, and likely a feminist--this will become hilarious because she will not remotely take him seriously. She will just ignore him or roast him in seconds before moving on with her day. Otherwise he doesn't care much because he doesn't have time to play babysitter (unless there's no one else to help).

At the most, he'll make sure she's safe and use the excuse that Vincent would be upset if he did anything less. If she likes/loves dogs and plays with King while she's there, he'll soften up and thank her for taking care of him. If she makes hella pancakes, he'll be the proudest about it--ruffling her hair. If she protects Vincent in any capacity, he'll be torn between jealous, grateful and impressed; he likes a kid that can hold their own and take responsibility within their abilities.

So their relationship is v much like a chill uncle with their niece; fond, but not necessarily super close or spend a ton of time together. He has his priorities, but he won't be an asshat (mostly).

Jeanne's reaction:

Jeanne is confused on so many levels. He doesn't dislike her spunk he's just staggered by her level of sheer reckless, righteous rage. (And he's a bit wary in the face of another pureblood as a potential enemy) but after a bit more time around her he relaxes. She's fairly simple to understand when you get to know her; cares about others to a fault, existential dread, overworks herself. Stays watchful, but he just treats her like the younger kids that Napoleon brings by the weapons shop when they need armor for practice. It can get a little funny because he’ll just be like “uhhhh uh kids like sweet stuff right? Here have some of the macaroons somebody brought by earlier, I don’t like ‘em that much anyway.” And she just “??? Thanks???” He doesn’t mind being around her, just doesn’t really know what to say so they often fall into comfortable silence after exchanging small talk. She likes that he isn’t complicated; what you see is what you get with Jeanne. It’s nice not to have to keep her guard up every second of the day,

When he sees her feeling particularly down, he’ll take her to that little field of white lilies behind the mansion during a full moon night. The silver light seems to make the petals emit an ethereal glow, and she makes him a flower crown in thanks. He listens kindly if she wants to talk, and if she doesn’t--that’s okay too; he’ll just give her a head pat.

Honestly he finds a lot of relief in the fact that she's a pureblood, because he feels less nervous about her being fragile or her getting fatally hurt when he’s not around. Will still be very gentle with her and protect her when she’s in proximity

Mission Status: Fucking Wholesome

Dazai’s reaction:

Big brother time? It’s big brother time!!!! He instantly makes it his subtle mission to look after her, though he’s v lowkey abt it. She takes one look at this depressed mofo climbing in through the window and just goes “aw yeah, this guy FUCKS” and they become besties at a glance. They basically make a game out of who can be the most absurd whenever they’re in the same room. Comte and Leo find it utterly hilarious, Napoleon is digging a grave for Isaac in the backyard (we all know his heart won’t be able to take it. Mozart is probably next. A moment of silence for our fallen.)

Dazai: You ever have to shake your leg because there’s a rock in it? MC: That’s your bones Dazai: Every day I learn some more

He’ll always share treats with her and brings her along for walks if she’s feeling wanderlust; he knows how hard it can be, how restless the heart becomes so far from home. He does his best to distract her with their ongoing jokes, but one day it starts raining very suddenly while they’re out. He rushes her under the nearest tree with broad, broad leaves and settles his haori/overcoat over her head. He looks incredibly serious as he looks to the sky--almost glowering at the dark clouds gathering, He doesn’t look at all like his usual fun-loving self in that split second, even though he’s back to his good-natured chirping “Guess we’ll just have to wait out the downpour. MC, are you cold? I should have been more careful.” She shakes her head and shares the coat with him, holding it out insistently until he relents. Their hands brush and she notices they’re freezing, but she doesn’t say anything. She seems to sense he has a lot on his mind, and leans her shoulder against his. The silence feels fragile; she doesn’t want to risk shattering it--shattering him. It is often said that it is an act of great courage to wipe away someone’s tears. But it can also be an act of great gentleness to turn away, to pretend one cannot see them fall (whether visible or not).

One day, after MC returns to her own time, Dazai returns to his room to find two shadows hanging from his window. Though a little crude--they’ve obviously been made by a beginner--it’s clear what they are. Rain ghosts. (Sebastian later explains it was MC’s wish that he have them, and Dazai only smiles very, very gently in response.)

Shakespeare’s reaction:

MC gets one look at him and knows something’s off. She can’t quite tell what it is, but he doesn’t feel like the rest of the family. She can sense something behind him, something lurking; but she can’t quite place it. (Comte has mentioned before that purebloods can sense each other, so I imagine MC knows right off the bat he isn’t a normal sired vampire--she just doesn’t know enough to identify exactly what it is.)

That being said, she is sus. He keeps talking like some kind of weird ass court jester/fae, and she hated his work when she had to do it for school (only enjoyed the Hamlet memes because, let’s be real, that shit is uproarious). When he tries to coax her to see Vlad with him, she says “'Sblood, do you think I am easier to be played on than a pipe? Call me what instrument you will, though you can fret me, yet you cannot play upon me.” And he just freezes in place before he starts laughing. Considers their battle of wills well-played, and warns her not to go out alone--doesn’t bother her again. Though sometimes enjoys listening to her conversations with others for good roast material. (No he is not taking notes, no this new chara is just fire and feral for no good reason--nothing to do with MC)

Sebastian’s reaction:

The l o r e, MC. Give him the forbidden pureblood lore. Will be incredibly curious and ask about what vampires are like outside of the mansion, for science of course. If he senses discomfort though his questions will die down completely--it’s not his intention to make her uncomfortable. He’s just curious! 

Despite his stoicism he’s actually a very, very understanding and warm person.  Will listen to any teenage jadedness or hopelessness with fond patience, recalling the days he was similar. He’ll offer what advice he can. He’s not one to be preachy, but if he sees someone at a loss, he’ll offer what he thinks might be a productive direction for them. Given her removal from her home and parents--even though she’s already well into high school--he’ll sympathize deeply with her position. Will be a firm but gentle guardian (hello Mansion Mom #2), offers her candy every time she does a chore exceptionally well or offers assistance without prompting. She’s sus and takes it reluctantly at first, but after she tries one in private secretly loves them. Sebas is just silently “you like krabby patties don’t you, squidward”. If she’s honest, she’s comforted by the sense of normalcy and care he gives, the harmless joking and easy respect for others (unless otherwise provoked).

When she finds out about his hobby considers him to be a Fucking Nerd^TM and wants to shove him into a locker, but in reality is endeared by how much he genuinely cares about the men. She thinks it’s a harmless fascination, and she senses the oddest...ephemerality about him. Because of this, she becomes pretty protective; he’s a human and he’s too nice for his own good. While she identifies in one sense, she worries in another. Pureblood are sturdy, but humans can’t necessarily sustain that kind of constant self-giving for long...

DREAM 

One of the boy’s cabins counselors, helps out at the waterfront sometimes

Has this white snapback hat with a black smiley face embroidered on the front, refuses to take it off, somehow never gets dirty

Also this lime green sweatshirt, he wears it around his waist if it gets too hot though

Often paired with George as co-counselors, they’re absolutely chaotic together but surprisingly good at leading the campers, they’ve got the whole play-fighting dynamic going on and nobody is really sure if they’re dating or not, they wear each other’s clothes so often they just share a dresser at this point

Whenever there’s a spider or a bug in the cabin Dream is the designated one to kill it (or take it outside)

Actually really close friends with Techno but they have a whole fake rivalry going on at camp for the ✨ drama  ✨ (not really, they just got in an argument once and it spread across the entire camp, now it’s basically just part of camp lore that they’re ‘enemies’)

They play it up a ton at camp events and team games, but they almost always sneak out to the docks at midnight after and talk for hours

Dream and Sapnap together almost always means trouble

They’ve been friends for as long as anyone can remember

The shenanigans they get up to usually ends with them both on kitchen duty

Loves climbing trees?? Can be found just chilling in trees sometimes

Known for being a really cool camp counselor though, intimidatingly tall and won’t hesitate to step in when breaking up a fight or disagreement, has a way with kids

GEORGE

Also a boy’s counselor

George has these awful white sunglasses he won from an arcade on a staff trip, nobody has ever seen him without them, he wears them on his face when he’s in a bad mood (only Dream can talk to him without being ignored when this happens)

George is known for being a stickler for the rules, but surprisingly he’s often the counselor who starts the annual prank war, he somehow managed to dye Dream’s hair bright green in his sleep once 

A bit awkward with the campers, but he loosens up around Dream and Sapnap

Constantly steals Dream’s green sweatshirt

Makes Dream and Sapnap friendship bracelets once, is a flustered mess when he gives the bracelets to them, muttering excuses about them looking terrible because he’s colorblind, Dream and Sapnap wear them on their wrists at all times (even though the colors clash just a little bit) 

SAPNAP

Also a boy’s counselor, hosts the game nights in the main lodge every week

Has a white bandana tied around his forehead, Dream yanks it down over his eyes sometimes and they end up chasing each other around the camp for hours (and then they end up on kitchen duty, obviously)

KING of the ropes course

Spends most of his time there, actually

Ends up in the infirmary more times than he probably should after trying to do obstacles blindfolded or without a harness

Can and will carry a grudge for months on end

References a meme or vine every other sentence

Unironically wears crocs

Starts water balloon fights with Dream every opportunity he gets

Yells ‘parkour’ every time he does something cool on the ropes course, even if it’s not actually parkour

One of the nicest counselors, always chides the other staff (and campers, sometimes,) for cursing, helps out in the infirmary whenever he can

Campers trust him with their secrets, he knows a little bit about almost everyone but he’d never let any of it slip, he’s well aware of how important it is to the campers to have someone they can absolutely trust

Helps sort out disagreements between campers, he’s probably the best one with kids

Scarily good with a gun, holds most of the top camp records

Constantly reminding people to wear sunscreen, carries around three different types in his bag

Also a bunch of individually wrapped muffins, he gives them to campers if they want a snack

Definitely the worst at telling ghost stories

Has a lot of survival skills, will teach campers how to tie ten different types of knots in his free time

Only one who consistently wears his staff t-shirt

WILBUR

Everyone’s favorite counselor, at least according to him

Often paired with Techno

Grey beanie for the aesthetic, but also because his hair is absolutely a mess and if he shoves a hat on it it immediately looks better

Carries his guitar with him most of the time

Went through the ropes course one time with his guitar on him because of a dare

Really good at telling scary stories, but usually plays campfire songs on his guitar instead (sometimes with a kazoo if he’s in the right mood)

Absolutely torches his marshmallows and insists it’s the only right way to eat them, once ate a flaming marshmallow whole (for fun, apparently)

Coffee addict

Pretty much spends the entirety of breakfast at the coffee table

When Wilbur was a CIT he gets this black bandana from Philza, he never wears it but keeps it tied around his bed frame every summer, until one staff campfire when Tommy is a CIT. They’re all sitting around a fire and singing and joking around and Tommy surprises Wilbur when he knows all of the lyrics to one of Wilbur’s songs, and Wilbur impulsively gives Tommy the bandana (Tommy makes a joke about how it’s ‘rather plain, innit?’, Wilbur rolls his eyes and punches him on the arm, they both know how much it means to Tommy though)

Kind of sarcastic, mean in a nice way 

TECHNO

Technically a counselor but nobody knows where he is most of the time

Has pastel pink hair and will 100% help kids dye their hair too, but not before a long lecture about bleach damage and regret

Also a pink face mask (for fashion), only takes it off to eat or swim

The best at making friendship bracelets, it gives him something to do with his hands

Teaches the campers how to make friendship bracelets in the art cabin

Gives his closest friends a pink and black friendship bracelet (it’s not confirmed to be him, they just show up on your bed overnight, but everybody knows it’s Techno)

One legendary summer, Dream and Techno were paired as camp counselors for a cabin, the campers from that year all have matching pink and green bracelets, there’s still whispers about what went down then

A god at toasting his marshmallows to perfection, golden and crispy on all sides with just the right amount of melting

Gets the best care packages from home (so many cookies!!)

TOMMY

CIT with Tubbo

Only his second year at camp, but he hit it off really well with all the other staff and Philza so they offered him a position as CIT

(which he accepted, obviously)

Likes to claim it’s for all the free stuff and staff perks but secretly really wants to learn how to be a good counselor

Curses like a sailor though

BBH has to threaten to take away his access to the staff coffee table to get him to stop cursing as much around the campers

Chaotic gremlin, probably shouldn’t be put in charge of children

He’s actually very responsible when he needs to be though, likes to joke around a lot but looks out for the campers as much as possible

Self-proclaimed king of the gaga pit

Seriously, can hit the ball so hard he’s bruised some people a couple of times

Always covered in scratches and bruises and bandaids

A little too eager to throw a punch

Has a black bandana (from Wilbur) and wears it around his neck at all times, keeps it as clean as possible (even when he’s covered in dirt from various scuffles the bandana somehow stays clean)

Goes absolutely ham on a kazoo during sing alongs

Him and Tubbo sneak out one night and take a paddleboard out to the middle of the lake to look at the stars, the only reason they get caught is because Tommy falls off as they paddle back to shore, Philza yells at them for ten minutes straight but it’s worth it

Basically never wears his staff shirt

TUBBO

Also a CIT

Has been going to the camp for years

Brings his ukulele with him, sometimes he plays with Wilbur at campfires, loves sitting on the dock and playing random little tunes for the campers

Hangs out at the waterfront a lot

Volunteers for kitchen duty, surprisingly

He actually really likes cooking and hanging out with Fundy, whenever he and Bad are in the kitchen together they make muffins

Makes flower crowns!! Absolutely vibes while sitting in the fields, loves the bees, teaches campers how to weave flowers together

Lets Tommy drag him off into all of his shenanigans

Is definitely the type to laugh off insults

Very, very hard to anger but when he gets mad, he gets mad

He and Tommy have only had one disagreement ever at camp, it started with a screaming match for an hour at the waterfront, they ended up not talking for days. Wilbur’s never seen Tommy that quiet, and Eret watches Tubbo with concern when he just sits on the dock for hours, not moving. One night Tommy shows up at Wilbur’s cabin, covered in scrapes and blood in the pouring rain, he just starts crying and Wilbur carries him to the infirmary before finding Tubbo, the two finally talk for a couple of hours after BBH bandages up Tommy’s wounds, the next day they’re back to talking and laughing and causing chaos together like nothing ever happened

Tubbo still feels guilty about that

Loves hanging out with the campers, everyone is excited for when he’s an actual counselor

Wears his staff shirt most of the time, but it’s under his green flannel so you can’t really tell anyway

PHILZA

Camp director obviously

Basically a tired dad, wears a green and white bucket hat, has a fanny pack and will use it

Curses a lot but hides it from the campers

Constantly reminding everyone to wear their staff shirts even if nobody listens to him

Loves telling the campers embarrassing stories about Wilbur and Techno as often as he can

When giving Tommy a tour of the camp to prepare for being a CIT Tommy somehow manages to climb onto the roof of the dining hall, Philza has to hide his laughter while yelling at him to come down

Tommy just stands and yells “POGCHAMP” as loudly as he can, Wilbur records it on his phone and makes sure to send it to all the staff in the group chat

Refers to Wilbur and Techno as his ‘sons’

And eventually Tommy too

BUDDY SYSTEM OR ELSE

You better have your buddy when he blows his whistle twice

Tubbo helps him organize the swim tests and give everyone the appropriate tag to hang on the buddy board

FUNDY

Fundy absolutely cannot be trusted as a counselor, so Philza sticks him in the kitchen as head of the kitchen crew

Fundy doesn’t actually mind, he doesn’t have to do much and he gets access to all of the snacks

Extremely chaotic when handing out snacks to the campers- sometimes he throws them, sometimes he just dumps them out into a pile on the ground, sometimes he hands them out individually, there’s no way to predict it

Needs at least 8 hours of sleep or several cups of coffee before he’s ready to interact with campers

Very sarcastic

Plays piano in the main hall sometimes

Bullies Tommy with Wilbur

Silence was between the two of you as Illinois drove the car, the engine humming softly. When you looked out the window, all you could see was trees and the city was far behind you. At some point you had questioned if Illinois wasn’t just lost or something and wanted to question him about it, but the determination and confidence that always resided in his eyes silenced your wonderings. The car lights started to flicker on and off in a spooky way while making its way further into the woods, until a fence blocked the road.

“You brought us all the way here to walk between a bunch of trees?” You questioned as you both got out of the car into the chilly night. The two of you had planned to go on a Halloween adventure, and while, sure, the woods was scary, but the only danger were animals lurking about. Most of them would be too scared of you two in the first place and Illinois went to so many animal Heaven’s that there was nothing to fear as long as you had him by your side.

That actually kind of went for everything, you thought to yourself.

“Of course not,” he smirked. “You’re not that lucky.” He flicked on a flashlight and threw himself over the old wooden fence. You followed behind him, still smug as ever.

A long walk ensued, but nothing you weren’t used to. With Illinois as a partner, all you ever did was walk, climb, avoid traps, go to multiple heavens, pick up cursed artifacts, flirt with each other and make Indiana Jones references. Even the cold breeze on your skin couldn’t bother you, or the singing of the owls, or the crickets hiding in the grass.

Until, in the distance, you saw something you’d never seen before. An enormous gray castle, displaying signs of age in its cracked walls, vines and patches of moss sticking on the bricks like glue. Your eyes widened in amazement and excitement, and you picked up your pace.

“They say that this castle was cursed thousands of years ago,” Illinois started in a low, grim voice that sent shivers down your spine. You couldn’t tell if he was telling the truth or trying to scare you with an improvised story. After all the adventures you’d been on, a cursed castle was anything but strange. You passed over the bridge of a river and then entered the castle through one of its broken windows, Illinois following behind.

“The curse was created after the unsolved murder of the King,” he said, shining his flashlight on portraits hanging on the walls. You didn’t recognize any of the people and the art style had Tim Burton vibes, especially in the setting you were in. Desperate for a light of your own, you snatched one of the candles off of their holders and lit them up using the matches you always carried in your adventurer bag.

“The King was said to be murdered by the ghost of the Maid, who still roams around, longing for souls and blood,” Illinois continued as you both continued up the stairs. Right as he said that, the flame of your candle revealed the portrait of a maid.

Your heart started going wild along with a drop in your stomach.

“Is that her?” You said.

“Seems like it,” Illinois replied, still in the horror-story narrator voice. Then his tone completely shifted and he smirked.

“She’s kinda hot, though.”

“Shut uuuup,” you grinned playfully. “But not as hot as me, right?”

“Well…”

“Screw you!” Playfully, you held the candle closer to the portrait. “I can make her burn if you say yes…” You tried to do the same creepy voice as he did, but he was somehow better at it. Damn him and his naturally sexy voice.

“Wouldn’t that literally make her hotter though?” Illinois joked. You deadpanned at him and held the candle just a bit closer to the portrait.

It wasn’t your intention, but suddenly a flame caught onto the wooden frame. Immediately you pulled away your candle. You would’ve been brave enough to keep the portrait as an artifact for your guys’ collection, but it was too late for that now.

“Oh, you actually did it,” Illinois said with a hint of disappointment.

“I didn’t mean to,” you said, stepping backwards and watching the maid burn. Suddenly, your blood ran cold as you heard a long, deafening scream through the air, definitely one that sounded like it would belong to her.

Immediately you grasped Illinois close, who looked as terrified as you did.

“What’s that? Where did that come from?” You asked, panicked, and looking around.

“Don’t worry, it must’ve been something else,” Illinois said reassuringly. How could he stay calm in a situation like this?

And then you heard footsteps. You’d dropped the candle on the floor out of fear, but Illinois still held his flashlight and shone it at its source. You turned away at first, burying your face into his chest.

“(Y/N)…” he said, slowly and cautiously.

“Wh-what?”

“I think we need to run.”

And then you looked up to see the pale figure step into the weak light of the flashlight. A woman with blank white eyes, bleach blonde curled hairs along her shoulder, and skinny, almost skeleton-like arms grasping forward into nothingness. The most unsettling thing that had you paralyzed at the sight, was the maid costume stained with crimson blood.

Even with Illinois by your side, you had never felt that much terror. Frozen in place, adrenaline made its way into your bloodstream, absolute horror making its home in every single one of your guts. It was Illinois who saved you by pulling you away into the fastest sprint you’d ever made.

You clenched his hand tightly, not wanting to be away for him for one moment. You fled into another room and stepped back as Illinois boarded up the door, dragging furniture and desks and everything he could find.

As he was working on that, you kept taking slow steps backwards. Scared that any move you would make could be your last. Then you looked to the side, only to lock eyes with your reflection in an old mirror hanging on the wall. Your reflection turned paler and paler, your hair turning as white as the maids, until your image was replaced entirely with the ghost’s.

You screamed at the top of your lungs, and suddenly felt Illinois’s warmth, he’d wrapped his arms around you. You buried your face in his chest again, now shivering. He kept himself cool, but you could feel his heart beat as quickly as yours.

“Don’t panic, hey, we’ve got this, okay? I’ve got you,” he said, rubbing your back. You were too panicked to notice the bonking on the doors, but Illinois swallowed a lump in his throat, trying to ignore it.

“What if it takes one of us? What if I lose you? What if you lose me?” you said.

“That won’t happen, okay? I have no fears except losing you,” he said calmly, but with a trace of emotion in his voice. “And I will make sure that will never happen.”

“My biggest fear is losing you, too,” you said. “What do we do now?”

“The curse… well, they said the soul of the maid was trapped inside the mirror, like all ghosts, and therefore couldn’t escape our reality,” Illinois continued. You couldn’t see it, but his eyes wandered to the mirror. He tried to step away from you towards it, but you tugged on his shirt.

“No, don’t let me go,” you said.

“I won’t,” he reassured, and held your hand tightly. With his other hand he grabbed the mirror, and you finally found the courage to open your eyes to the scene again. Then he threw the mirror against the wall, smashing it to pieces, and the bonking on the doors stopped. A cold breeze pushed past the both of you, and then, complete silence.

“I think we did it,” Illinois said and smirked. “I’ve protected you from yet another thing. And I always will.”

You couldn’t help but laugh at his smugness, although it was probably the adrenaline rush and the relief at this point. You still didn’t feel quite safe, but the atmosphere had changed somehow. It was inexplicable, just like the paranormal.

“Let’s get the hell outta here!” You said, and Illinois nodded. Staying close together the two of you hurried out the window of the castle, wandered around it back to the car, and drove off faster than you’d ever did before.

Looking back on it, there was some aspect of fun to it. A spooky adventure where you had been horrified. And you’d discovered your real fear: losing Illinois. No ghost, ghoul or monster could ever be scarier than that.

Following that obey me post I reblogged about a gen z mc, and seeing how I already thought about this a couple times, I decided to write this! Enjoy~

ALSO,, sorry for disappearing for two days, I didn't really have any ideas nor motivation to write,,

When the vampires see a teenager coming out of the door, they kinda think "oh shit". An adult is something, but a teenager? It's a big responsibility

Gen Zers are very independent and autonomous so you often tell them not to pamper you nor treat you like a child, you know what you're doing and you can handle your responsibilities

You work hard and you're humble, often saying self deprecating or suicidal jokes, making everyone look at you like 👁👄👁are u ok, but you tell them it's normal and not to pay you any mind

Some of them will just get worried at how much self deprecating humor you use but you just keep using it to confuse them even more lmaoo

You particularly get along with Vincent for his good vibes and his dedication to art. You really love staying there with him and watch him paint, often asking him questions about his technique and stuff

You compare him to Bob Ross and start rambling about him to Vincent, who on the other hand thinks must be a very good man

Mozart would be the second member of the mansion you spend most time with if it wasn't for the fact that he likes being alone and your presence disturbs his work more often than not

Despite this you offer to sing/show him some songs from your time so that he could play them for you and find some inspiration. It's a win-win situation for both, especially since your phone died after 3 days of your stay

This brings you extreme pain. We all know how phones and electronics are a dependance to most of us, but you ask Leonardo and Isaac to help you create a charger and a socket to charge your phone (you'd still be without internet but you could at least show them photos of the 21st century)

You admire Napoleon a lot. He started a mfing revolution for civil rights! How cool is that? Also, rebellion and equality run in your veins, and you find yourself telling him all about the protests in your time

You tell him about suffragettes, stonewall riots, the blm protests, etc. listing all the reasons why they started, how they ended and what they achieved

Napoleon listens carefully, relieved and proud about the fact that there are so many people still fighting for they rights and to achieve freedom

Seeing the fire in your eyes as you talk about it reminds him of his younger self, a feeling of nostalgia accompanying him for as long as you stay and making him act kind of like an older brother

Your strong sense of justice and your fiery personality, make you very "responsive" to Shakespeare's schemes. He wants to start some weird shit? You will flip him over and kick his ass while giving him a 45 lessons long course about ethics. He won't be doing any toxic shit on your watch!

You and arthur communicate through vines. You taught him all the vines you knew and you're extremely proud of this. On the other hand, Arthur is very happy to have another way to confuse and make fun of the other residents

PLEASE make him say "why does somebody not know how to flush the toilet aftah they've had a SHET? DISGUSTANG"

When comte tells you "keep your head high, as all women should" you basically yell "aLL WOMEN ARE QUEENS" and hug him while sobbing, confusing the old man

The amount of chaos you bring into that house eye-

No one is able to get a hold of you and you have a sassy comeback for every joke is thrown your way

Whenever Theo refers to you using a dog analogy you just tell him "someone here is pretty kinky huh? Good job theo, implying these kind of things in front of a child like me~". This statement has both Arthur and Vincent holding Theo back before he does anything out of shame and anger lmao

You aren't the sweet and innocent angel you seem to be, and everyone realizes this pretty soon

Jean almost passes out after he hears you say with all the confidence in the world that God doesn't exist and you definitely wouldn't fear him even if he was up there. The amount of sacrilege things you say hurt his soul

But something that doesn't go unnoticed is that you respect everyone's opinions and ideas even if they are different from your own (unless they go against equality and human rights, in that case you're more than ready to throw hands)

Anyways, random fights and general chaos aside, you also bring a lot of positivity in the house. Everyone's quirks, diversity and positive sides are respected, enhanced and appreciated by you. Everyone's faults are accepted and you help them become the better version of themselves.

Your flexibility, awareness and knowledge on subjects like depression and mental illnesses make you the official therapist for these very sad vampires

The fact you're also very perceptive and don't step any of the residents' boundaries makes you even a better presence! You can kind of figure out what's going on in their minds without making them uncomfortable

When you go back to your time everyone can feel the void you left behind. Days pass by without your laughter echoing through the hallways. Your genuine interest towards everyone's problems now replaced with the hard and cold truth: you weren't there anymore.

But who knows, if they waited long enough, they might meet you again when fate decided to reunite you all

I drew my boooooiiiiii - oh wait, why does he look different? Why does it say RQ!Mite?

Let me explain. Rn, it’s way too early to design RQ!Mite; the Galaxy Fam hasn’t shown up in Rainbow Quest yet.

RQ!Rainbow Steve isn’t a fusion, but every time the crystals create the hero, it’s always a new Rainbow Steve with a different main color. Every time the hero is unmade, that hero dies, which is why the crystals create a new hero each time.

So I wanted to play around with a concept/art challenge: What would SS!Mite Steve look like if RQ fusion/crystal logic was applied to him? I drew 4 Mite Steves, each with a different “main Steve” that determines their theme, power, and personality.

Memory!RQ!Mite:

Bio: The first Mite created by Steves in the RQ world (probably Galaxy and friends). This Mite prefers to do his work quietly without drawing attention. He does thing like being sneaky, shapeshifting into random Steves, erasing memories, and freezing time so people won’t notice him saving the day. As a result, he doesn’t have that many friends or fans, but he doesn’t mind since he doesn’t want the distraction or expectations. When he’s not working, he’s probably doing hobbies like gardening or cooking, and he loves cattos. The first Mite was killed because one day, he was outnumbered by enemies and had no one to help him defeat them. He died alone.

Design notes: I decreased the details and color variety, since this Mite doesn’t want to attract attention. I mean, he still looks extra(tm), but he can easily stay hidden or blend in with a crowd of similarly dressed Steves.

Illusion!RQ!Mite:

Bio: The second Mite, who is a hot mess who tries his best. There are some days when his perfectionism skyrockets, where he creates these intricate plans to defeat villains and he’ll cry if these intricate plans fail because they didn’t account for outside factors. But there are also days where he spots an enemy, throws a boulder at them and screams “AND STAY DEAD. I JUST WANT TO GO BACK HOME SO I CAN BINGE-WATCH SHOWS OR DISSOCIATE.” He pretends to not care about people, but he actually really really cares. He’s probably afraid of anything new, like new technology, new leaders, and the latest updates. He’s the only RQ!Mite who swears; no one knows when he learned swear words, and everyone is afraid of what else he knows. And yes, he’s self-aware and makes references to the Steve Saga. He’s dead now; I’m 120% sure it’s because he tried to leave the server and died trying...or maybe he’s still alive but exploring a different world :0

Design notes: tbh, I struggled coming up with a design. I gave him a generic detective, action movie protagonist vibe, since my Illusion design also has a detective/scientist theme. This boi is dressed because he has a job he takes seriously. He’s salty that the villain characters always have the better costumes, so he tries to one-up them. I love how the exaggerated popped collar reminds me of the “density of a black hole” graph. And he has bags under his eyes because he probably hasn’t slept in days.

Time!RQ!Mite:

Bio: The third Mite and the token functional boi of the 4. Unlike the previous Mites, this Mite is never seen doing his job. You’ll ask him “don’t you have to defend this realm?” and he’ll say “don’t worry, I am uwu.” And the world IS much more peaceful and every now and then, you’ll heard about a mysterious entity who saved a village from disaster. Whenever Mite is nearby when you read/hear this good news, he’ll whisper “~You’re welcome~” and say nothing else. You’re confused but eventually stop questioning him. Most of the time, this Mite is just vibing. He’s probably super into art. He just wants to have a good time and will be more than willing to be your friend if you come up to him and start a conversation. He is dead, and how he died is a mystery.

Design: At this point, I got sick of drawing purple and red so much (which still surprises me because how can you get sick of the colors purple and red?), so I didn’t want to use too much of it for Time!Mite. Does the green and blue make sense for his character? Probably not. Does it look good? Hopefully. I think it helped with the precious good boi energy. But I think I want to add some angst in the future, so I added abstract tears on his mask and more stormy, sad colors on the inside of his coat to counter the good boi energy.

Elemental!RQ!Mite:

Bio: The fourth and current Mite. This guy just did the job he was assigned. But one day he got curious about the previous three Mites. Using his time/space powers, he learned about their fate and went “oh no, that sounds awful! I don’t want this life anymore!” Then he got afraid that his creators would unmake him, so he decided to run away and find a place where he can defend himself. Using his elemental powers and time powers, he grew a forest to live in/rule. This forest is filled with illusion and memory powers. People who enter the forest will hallucinate from cryptid images and freak out until Mite shows up to scare them off. People try to tell their tales of the forest after escaping...if the memory powers don’t sink in and make them forget what they witnessed. Also.....the forest moves, very very slowly. It’ll grow to reach new biomes, while the older areas of the forest eventually disappear. It’s basically crawling. Mite’s just vibing in a cryptid, magical forest to avoid problems, and I love it.

(When he dies, the new Mite will have Memory as the main Steve, repeating the cycle)

Design notes: Mite, but he hates formal attire and has this vine thing that functions like a clawed hand...that’s it. I was debating about giving him the coat or not, and ended up drawing one he can wear as a cape; I toned down the inside colors because I worried they would be distracting. I gave him a nice flower crown and more vibrate blue hair tips.

Fun fact: my dad saw me draw this boi and he said Elemental!Mite looked like the Beast from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. And....I mean, they got the same energy, I guess? But I think they look too different, so I’m just confused and wondering why my dad said that.

Thursday Night Link Roundup - December 3rd

Hello! Happy end of Nanowrimo! I hope you won, and if you didn’t win, I hope you learned something important that will help you win next year :)

So I had to cool it on the Thursday Night Link Roundups for a bit; I just didn’t have the time to devote to arranging and having opinions about stuff (and then writing them down for you guys to read) between work and Nano. But, at least until the stuff for my Steno Keyboard gets here, I have nothing to do now (aside from work, but it’s not like I do that for fun or anything).

Anyway, let’s jump into it. *bad green screen of me jumping into the internet, à la a 90s infotainment VHS about the internet*

If you haven’t already watched it, here’s the third part of Ms Luna Oi’s series on Dialectical Materialism. After all the things she discussed in the other two videos, she discusses the three basic rules of Materialist Dialectics.

Since it’s been a while since I watched this video (because of my unintended break) so I can’t remember too much detail on it, but it is a good video.

This video… I can’t tell how old the two people in it are: they go back and forth between sounding like old codgers (at least) in their 50s and “the youngin’” because of all the Minecraft references. I am so confused. Untitled Engineering Disaster Podcast-like content Episode 1: The Silver Bridge Disaster by donoteat01, which later went on to become a podcast called Well There’s Your Problem, which has its own youtube channel.

I had no idea about all of this stuff about bridge building. I knew some of the details of the Silver Bridge disaster, but I didn’t know about the eyebars (or I forgot about it) or the rocker towers. Like… I can’t imagine the thought process that goes into “what is the towers themselves moved?” when like… normally they don’t? I’m not an engineer but it seems like such a weird way to solve a problem. “What if this gigantic, heavy thing weren’t solid and needed to be held up by these precarious chain links?” is not a thought I could imagine crossing my mind even if I were an engineer. 

Also: the sheer inanity of making something that you don’t have the technology to detect problems (the hairline crack in the eyebar).

I can’t understand why no one blamed the company who built the bridge, btw. They built a shit bridge and should have been sued.

When I was in my early 20s, I remember justifying my dropping out of graphic design “college” (it wasn’t) by saying something like, “Why the fuck would I want to spend my life convincing a bunch of people to buy shit they don’t need with money they don’t have?” when one of my parents’ friends told me I could have gone into advertising. Not the first time I’ve had thoughts of a popular philosopher in my youth without having heard of them beforehand. (“Do I exist because I think? IF I STOP THINKING, WILL I STOP EXISTING??” suddenly popped into my head and caused an existential crisis for a few days when I was in junior high.)

Tom Nicholas explains the Society of the Spectacle, which partly involves the explanation of how advertisement companies are selling an image rather than an actual product. Trying to game the “Keeping up with the Joneses,” idea, if you will.

I, like many kids, read Dr. Seuss books. They might be one of the things that really made me love the English language, just because of how he bent and shaped it into the amazing poetry that went along with his strange and wonderful art. I distinctly remember reading And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry street in the grade “before I was supposed to be reading it” and being asked by the teacher how I was even understanding it (I guess the rest of the class was on “See Spot Run” type of books or whatever). I can’t even remember my answer. Probably a shrug and then wishing they would leave me alone so I could get back to reading, lol.

But Dr. Seuss had even weirder art that I can appreciate now as an adult. Solar Sands’ video, The Secret Darker Art of Dr. Seuss, shows off some of his “Midnight Paintings” that he painted for himself. I need to see if there was ever an art book published of all or any of it, because they’re so interesting. You can still see his strangely whimsical style, many but with darker colors that almost make them seem more… horror-ish.

I will admit, I do not listen to Lamb of God, I’m not sure why but it’s a band I’ve never gotten into. However, I love the way this song sounds on Hurdy Gurdy and I might check out the actual band now. If I don’t like it, I’ll just listen to this cover over and over. 

Also, how is there not a Doom Metal or Ambient Black Metal hurdy gurdy band yet? Some amazing musician, please make this.

I don’t know if I’ve ever even heard a Djent song before. Like, I could not tell you the name of a Djent band, and then all of a sudden - I guess around 2018 - my feed was filled with people making fun of it. I don’t know, I like the way this song sounds at least? Maybe there’s something about the vocals that makes it suck? I have no idea. I have no desire to investigate further.

I don’t know, it’s giving me strong Gojira vibes in certain spots.

Unlike my desire for a Doom Metal (or Ambient Black Metal) hurdy gurdy band, I’m fine with just this.

seeing a lot of character hate in my dash and?? ew disgusting. so how about a post about why i love all the Marvel characters ey?

Tony: Pure bean nerd, so tired and so curious about the world around? remember that starry eyed look he had in im2 with the new element?? damn. Also do you not see him caring for inanimate objects like Dummy and U? like wow me too. he is so sentimental and cares so much but is emotionally constipated and can’t show it :/ Also just wants the world to be safe and sure, he makes mistakes but Tony Stark never makes the same mistake twice.

Steve: lawless righteous man. Loyal?? to like a fault but that doesnt remove how freaking powerful he is. he tries to do whats best for the team and it shows and he is really careful about everything. also that little weasle tried to illegally enlist his 90+ lbs asthma self to the army? wow. Steve Rogers is literally teaching us to follow ur dreams and one day you will achieve it. also? art goals.

Natasha: black widow queen baby! .like she’s so wary bcuz of red room and it probably still haunts her and she really wants to be a better person. Knows she made mistakes and is actively trying to fix it and is so strong by doing so <3 plus she will steal ur clothes if she likes you and will beat anyone up and it really shows

 Bruce: what a shy lil scientist boy. surprisingly witty and funny? like wow have you seen AoU and Ragnarok? a powerful man regardless of his green. insecurity that reeks across the room but can become so confident so quickly. 7 phds??? damn can you help me with my physics homework pleasE? also is teaching us?? that all things will get better soon and you can do it. Go past all your fears and insecurity because theres a strength inside of you that can be released so easily <3

Clint: what a hecking trickster, probably the super milder version of Loki because he has those™ vibes. honestly just tired and wants to go hope to his family and his dog named lucky. he’s?? so underrated?? and is funny and i really like this character and i hope we get to see more of him/ronin in Endgame <3

Thor: So sweet, like terrifying when he wants to be but such a bright and innocent soul. Definitely the light of the party. Im not gonna lie im really happy they took out his Shakespearean schtick and made him much more relatable and smart. like? “All words are made up” finally!! we can see him for who he really is!! 1500+ year old wise god with powerful skills but empathy. character arc!! used to be a screaming baby with goals of genocide but finally learned the true ways!! and damn if Marvel isn’t all about change. He sees a mess? and he goes and fixes it to the best of his ability

Bucky: haha 1942 science nerd. Legit went to a science expo because he likes it!! he’s also so loyal and confused and is really just tired of war and is filled with regret. He wants to be better and not be a tool. because no more! no more! he got brainwashed first so now he’s going to take control of his life and become the best person he can be!!

Sam: wow?? look at how strong this guy is. his partner died and instead of wallowing and turning to rage he just? decided to help people with PTSD? like thats some major strength right there. he literally is the type of “something bad happens to you? dont let it get you down and help others out” like wow so hecking powerful. quippy sarcastic but well-natured and i strive to be like him!! really underrated!!

T’Challa: Wakan’t do this forever but he tries. he?? took the mantle of King right after his father’s death because he knows he can’t fail everyone else. They need a ruler. And he provides that . freaking best older brother you can ask for, like?? he knows jack shit about Shuri’s references but tries to go with the flow.

Stephen: snark™ king 2.0. do no harm but take no shit. thats literally his character and i love it. really wants to try to find the most peaceful resolution to everything even though he is a major badass and can kill so many enemies so easily. character growth!! like damn he really taught us that it’s not about us. its about the others and it really shows. like wow wheres the love for this guys?

Vision: oh man everyone loves Jarvis and he?? is part of Vision and you can see the Jarvis reeking out. He’s so witty and powerful and damn. Absolute walking computer, you can ask him to play whatever song and he’ll somehow be able to do it. strikes me as a pinocchio kinda guy. i mean a sentient robot in a human world? must be kinda hard to fit in. 

Wanda: powerful goddess like damn have you even seen her?? she’s so angry with the world and with loss but is quick to change her views. she changes and thats all that matters. because people don’t stay the same way. She teaches us that it’s possible to change even though it goes against all of your beliefs. Everything that you stand for. she aims to fix her mistakes and learns from them.

Peter: PUREST BEAN. like so stressed with school, but so responsible. Well....unless you disregard all his missing backpacks. he honestly has one goal and that is to help the people. he’s literally the representation of everything we want for a leader. So capable and he knows it and just tries to reach his potential the fastest and quickest he can. plus vine refrences?? says “more expresso less depresso” despite probably disliking coffee. like damn no wonder why everyone just wants to adopt this kid. 

Rhodey: Will take none of your bullshit, he sees you with negative thoughts or whatever? will tell you that ur so hecking wrong and you better think better of yourself. so positive but so realistic. tries to do what is best and doesn’t let any silly thing like a disability bring him down. He out there ready to kick some ass and he will do it with style, man. nothing can bring him down.

Scott: World’s greatest grandma. have you seen how nice and parental he is with his daughter? like get me a dad like Scott please i beg. His whole characters surrounds around trying to be the best dad he can be to Cassie. He’s also  funny and witty and a goof but a planner. sees something that can help? will absolutely take it regardless if he knows what the hell is going on or not. he knows that people are smarter than him and won’t take offense because heck yeah you go support!! moral support!!

1. If you could spend the day with one of your OC’s who would it be and why?

Oh man, it depends on what sort of activity we’d be doing!

If we were just hanging out over a coffee, I’d want to meet my man Resdin, because he is the funniest character of mine that I know. (evidence)

If we were meeting at an art gallery or concert, or just doing something craftsy, I’d go with Anoosha, because she is super creative. (Another character of mine, a makeup artist named Liana, is also quite creative, however she’s very shy and I wouldn’t be able to get past her shell in a day!)

If somebody was teaching me how to survive on a battlefield, or use a sword, I would go with my protagonist Ahrin because she’s quite a patient and understanding teacher... and I love her so much x3

2. Which of your own worlds would you most/least like to live in?

Most: Um, all I’ve written so far are terribly dangerous dystopias and fantasy worlds so none??

Least: All of them; I literally wouldn’t survive *nervous laughing* 

3. What is your favourite trope to write?

The chosen one c; 

I just love the idea of someone being destined to do something because it raises so many questions: Do they actually have any control over their lives? Would they complete their destiny, even if they actively tried to avoid it? Do all of us have destinies, and therefore no control over our lives?

I also tend to write stories that either require protagonists that have immense political power (so kings, lords, politicians) so that they can literally change the world or that involve powers (usually inherited) that would destroy the world if they were spread amongst the general population, so I’m automatically forced to use the “chosen one” trope. I mean, really though, who can get enough of the last of a line of kings possessing immense power that gained them the throne in the first place and that could spell its end??? 

4. Do you have a favourite writing snack?

Anything that is salty + crunchy, combined with tea (even though the caffeine makes me go hyper/shaky xD)

5. Which of your OC’s is most like you?

While a lot of my OCs possess certain characteristics like mine, none of them are close to me in personality. For example, while Anoosha is quite creative and enjoys experimenting with visual art, music, and writing (as well as having an interest in hair, makeup, and clothes) like me, she is rebellious and a bit feisty where I am not (and actually bothers to learn about how to do hair, makeup, and dress well lmao). 

They’re all people very separate from me; I frequently wonder where they come from and whether I would get along with them at all xD

6. Follow up from 5: Does this make them easier or harder to write for you?

My characters show up when they want to and give me only just enough information about themselves for me to write them. In that way, I find it quite easy to connect with and write them because it feels like they act independently to whatever is going on in my head.

7. Describe yourself using only vine references

8. Which authors/artists/musicians/creators have inspired you?

Some favourite authors: Laura Gallego Garcia, Patrick Ness, Laini Taylor, Suzanne Collins, Madeline Miller, Garth Nix

Some favourite musicians: Steve Jablonsky, Michael Giacchino, John Powell, John Williams, Lorne Balfe, Marcin Przybylowicz, 2Cellos, The Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling, Ruelle (*coughs* movie soundtracks)

It’s funny though, because most of my ideas come from the most random places and the inspiration from my favourites mostly has to do with world-building vibes!

9. Favourite song/album?

Blasphemy to make me choose!!!

I go through song/album obsessions every few weeks. Yes, there are some songs that have endured (Rey’s Theme from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Elementalist Lux login screen music by League of Legends, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soundtrack) but for now my current favourite song is “Journey” from the Destiny 2 soundtrack.

Yeah, my family hates it when I get to put on a song in the car xD

10. What kind of pet do you most want?

Almost three years ago, I was able to get my two babies (cats), Jimi and Hermione. I couldn’t ask for anything more!

11. (Bonus Thing!) What is your favourite line from your current wip?

I don’t have a favourite line, but I love it when I can pack symbolism into a line. For example:

“For now, she would fall asleep in this pool of red. Maybe when she woke up, all the blood she had left would be blue.“

I won’t elaborate on what the symbolism is because of spoilers, but it is based on symbolism used in normal speech, so you could figure it out if you wanted to lmao
