felix was mildly surprised, lino didn’t usually behave this way around strangers—even those who just joined. such a polite greeting not going unnoticed.

“and when we go around here, it’s our dorms! well, me and my friends dorms.” he chuckled, guiding you down to where a common-room oriented area was, inhabited by six different boys that you assumed to be felix’s friends including lino and himself.

the first of the six you were to be introduced to was chan, whose dimples poked at his cheeks with a charming eye smile.

the rest came a bit later, a given that they were all handsome. and as you finally sat on the couch after the interaction, you couldn’t help but sink into the cushions.

“i bet you’re tired from all this after just getting in, you can stay and watch a movie with us if you want. minho went to grab some food, you might’ve seen him in the hallway.” chan offered, sending you a miniature grin.

you shrugged, deciding to join them after all to watch frozen.

it was quite comfy, except for the unfamiliarity of the other boys, but they all seemed friendly and carefree—urging you to be so as well.

Sighing, he crouches to the two fools who decided to provoke you and talks to them in that tone where you can’t speak because you’re scared of what they’re capable of. He says that he’ll be watching them closely and that if they mention their S/O beating them up, not only will they all get suspended but Sugawara will make sure they’ll never face pride or regain their HONOR back. Standing up, he looks to you and holds your hands as gingerly as possibly, observing the irritated redness on your knuckles and the splotches of small red bloody dots. Sighing, he smiles, brows furrowed, “Sugar, next time, go easy on them. I don’t want your pretty hands to be so messed up. I love you and I don’t mind bandaging them up and kissing them to make you feel better, but I feel the more you punch the more your hands’ll fall off. Then who am I supposed to hold hands with?”

Lenny would fuck up Brannox so badly. Then probably feel guilty about it to some extent, and try to do something about his incredibly low self-esteem. :) This is the only sfw thought I have.

resuming lovely complex on ep 11, and koizumi was being pretty unlikable last time we left off

tbh lets talk a little about that

i initially thought her crush on otani was pretty cute. but in the face of rejection, koizumi just can’t let it go?? i know this was her first real love but come on. she was understandably upset when she constantly had to tell otani that she liked him because he just couldn’t comprehend it. but he did eventually and he let her down pretty politely in my opinion. and koizumi just can’t get over that! worse is that her friends are so mean to otani for rejecting her, they’re shaming his decision to not be in a relationship with her and that’s kind of messed up? nobu-chan doesn’t see this as an opportunity to tell koizumi to pursue someone else and find a hobby to distract herself from heartbreak, she just encourages koizumi to continue chasing after otani even though he doesn’t want to be her boyfriend! wth

and a quick mention, i know this is a romance anime and it’s about love and it’s old school, but the way these teenagers do nothing but think about romance is a little. . .lackluster. like, there’s not much substance beyond the romance plot. all the events are romantic ones. christmas, valentine’s, summer vacation, you name it. lmao occasionally school gets thrown into it, but there’s no subplot. its just the story of how koizumi and otani get together and i wish there was more than that, but you know, i’m still halfway through so maybe i’ll find the plot im looking for.

and another quick mention, koizumi cries a lot. like, a lot. it’s kind of unbearable to watch at times because she’ll cry multiple times in one episode alone. all because of her unrequited love. and she passive-aggressively shames her friends and others for being in happy relationships. and she’ll go back and forth between thinking she still has a shot with otani and then getting depressed when it doesn’t work. like, i get it, she’s lived her life being regarded almost like a boy because of her height and her lacking femininity so she doesn’t feel very confident about herself or her height. but it gets a little tiring sometimes :I but that’s just me.

but other than that, the show still has great humor, animation and some very cute moments! i still like the show a lot but of course, there are a few issues too.

So while the other svt members got way to into watching a bunch of turtles with numbers taped to the shell try and walk out of a circle first

Good stuff

Anyways so eventually shua rounds them up

Just in time to arrive for the great watermelon eating contest

Watching people inhale watermelon at an alarming rate and worrying for their safety only makes the 4th that much more exciting

So after watching that mess of an event

And coups surprisingly getting really really into it

The 13 of them make there way to the roadside

Blankets in hand

Finally found a big enough for all of them

Bonus its also partly in the shade

So they lay down the blankets and get all settled in

The best

And most terrifying part

Of the entire day

The parade

Everything admirable about the town shows up

So basically

Some school marching bands

Every firetruck and police car you can fit into one space

A lot of random floats for things you’ve literally never heard of

Some random prom queen idk

But svt would be like

OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE ALL THOSE INSTRUMENTS!!!!

!!!! there !!! is !! a !!! dog !!!! in !!! that !!!! one !!!! float !!!!

Actually go deaf from the fire truck sirens

But whatever

Half of them scream with joy when some of the floats throw candy into the crowd

Except its more like they pelt the candy at you but whatever m8

Shua is have a grand old time reliving the joys of the 4th

Vernon is probably like oh god they weren’t joking when they said all this stuff about it

And the rest of them are like america omg wild i love it

Except wonwoo he might get a little overwhelmed

And like i can kinda see seungkwan being a little sassy about all the cheesy floats

Me too boo me too

So after a while the parade ends

Everyone is hyped

No matter how crappy the parade is or how good it is

Everyone is hyped

Because you know whats next

The most memorable part of the whole holiday

The fireworks

But its like lunch time right now

Its a while before its dark

So svt goes for lunch

Since its such a large group of people it was decided hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill is the best choice

So off everyone goes

And now begins the food preparation

Doesn’t actually take too long

Thankfully

Because hungry boys doesn’t make for a good situation

So they all get there food and eat to their hearts content

Because eating and full svt is the best svt you can fight me on this

So because its so hot

Water usually gets involved

And im just gonna say three words

Water Balloon fight

Can you see it

The split up into their units

Fill up water balloons as fast as possible

Set up bases

Create a battle strategy

Because this is an intense fight do you hear

Life or death

And so beings the adult water balloon fight

Best and biggest water balloon fight in history lemme tell you

So soooooo much fun

A memory all of them would have for the rest of their lives

They’d all be laughing so hard there stomachs would hurt

Even if a random stranger walked past the battle

Im sure they would just stop and watch and smile

Because hearing such sweet laughter like that

And watching 13 people just have straight up fun

And just enjoy life would bring a smile to anyone’s face

So now they are soaked

Worth it tho

By the time they collect themselves and dry off and like get all their energy back

Its probably close to dusk

So they gather up blankets and chairs

Shua hunts down sparklers and what are they called pop its ???

Omg hold on imagine svt with those pop its

Im crying just thinking about it

The best part of the 4th is chucking those little tnt poppers at your friends and watching them run away in terror as they explode

Just imagine svt with that im yelling

Tbh at first they would have fun just throwing them down on the ground and watching them explode and hearing the lil snap

And then shua comes in

And just chucks it at jeonghan

Jeonghan screams

Throws one back

Hits coups instead

Coups throws one

Hits seungkwan

Now you’ve got vernon and seungkwan joining in

Somehow wonwoo gets hit

Wonwoo isnt going to miss this chance

Pelts one at mingyu

Somehow woozi gets hit

Everyone freezes and watches him slowly pull one out of the saw dust or whatever

And then

All hell breaks loose

That lasts until they run out

Which doesn’t take to long honestly

Those boxes are tiny the run out so quick and ruin all the fun

Anyways so now the sun is like almost setting

So they all pile into some cars

And begin the adventure for open space to watch the firework show

Shua probably knows a good place

Like an open field

Or the top of a parking garage

So they go there

Set up camp round two

Then they wait

Light some sparklers

Mingyu almost burns himself

Tbh probably almost cries

Minghao and jun roast people

Someone probably flipped out and dropped a sparkler and almost caught another person on fire

Its svt literally anything could happen with them

Someone breaks out the glowsticks

Cause it aint the 4th until there are glowsticks

I guarantee you someone broke a glowstick

Tbh i bet it was coups

Someone would be struggling

And he would be like i got this im the dad i got this

*snaps it in half and all the liquid goes flying*

Glowing the rest of the night lmao

Finally the show starts

Everyone is dead silent at first

Totally into it

110% absorbed in the pretty lights

Then they start to oh and aw

Then they are clapping

Literally shook from the finale

Like wth thats a lot of fireworks all at once how did no one die

After thats over they beg shua to bring them back every 4th

Literally haven’t had so much fun in a loooooong time

Finally head back home

Ears still ringing a bit from the loud bangs of the fireworks

Fireworks going off in the distance probably fireworks lol

All together a highlight in sv bonding and memories and just so much fun plus cultural experiences good stuff

Ah man just imagine all of that my heart

Headcanon - Theater Layout

Okay, so, majority of the thing under a cut because there’s pictures galore XD

But here’s a summary:

The Kurukurutei is, in design, presumably heavily inspired by the existing Suehirotei in Shinjuku. The outside/front of the building definitely matches. Interior decor is up to imagination but I like to think the performance hall and stage at least are something similar to the real thing.

The building has three floors

The first floor, with three doors leading out to the sidewalk. There’s two ‘main entrance’ doors leading into the theater room, and one ‘staff entrance’ door leading both upstairs to living quarters, and to the backstage area including dressing room and yard.

The second floor is the “balcony” segment of the theater room. It’s a very tall theater room. Only staff has access to it. There’s also another room located above the dressing room that only those living at the theater have access to.

The third floor is the living space. It has a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and three bedrooms.

I guess there’s also a sort of attic but it doesn’t really count as a fourth floor because it’s kinda low and there’s probably just a ton of random stuff crammed into it.

I tried to rebuild the theater in Sims 3 the way I kinda-sorta imagine it but it had almost zero Japanese furniture and even the pay-for stuff on the official site is kinda useless and lol ain’t nobody got time to mod the game so just pretend there’s a ton more Japanese-looking stuff in the building than the game is willng to offer.

A bunch of interior pictures of the theater room. Top three are real photos, bottom three are anime renditions from the anime “Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu”, which I actually recommend watching. I remember going in for the sole purpose of learning more about rakugo to better muse Uendo and thinking I’d be bored, only to get hooked after the first episode and binge the entire first season in one afternoon lmao

Like I said, Sims 3 doesn’t really allow for me to properly re-create existing things, but all things considered [ it’s not too bad ]. Unfortunately I couldn’t take screenshots directly off the computer, so uh. Sorry about photo quality.

I don’t know if the theater has the same fuckton amount of lights everywhere, but I kinda had to add a billion for the sake of being able to SEE.

[ This one ] is basically a view of the first floor. You can see the dressing room and the hallway around it on the left, as well as the yard. The stairs in the same hallway lead up to living quarters, and there’s a kinda of dresser-closet-thing in front of the stairs for guests to take their shoes off. (They don’t get a lot of guests, but they do have a few pairs of guest slippers in the racks.)

[ First one ] is a slightly closer look at the front. There’s an empty stripe of brown bricks in the center, but there’s supposed to be a ticket booth there that people can buy their tickets from. The door on the right of the booth is where the audience walks in. The one on the left is locked. And then the left-most door is the staff entrance.

[ Second one ] is just a bit closer up to the seats and the stage. Hard to do in the game but the stage is supposed to be higher up and can have curtains of a sort to close/hide the stage. The wings are tatami mats. You’re meant to take your shoes off before walking on them, and they also have pillows to sit on.

[ Third one ] is really just to show that there’s a bathroom for audience people to go to during performances.

[ The yard ] is meant to have a higher hedge, thank you Sims, but you can see the doghouse previously occupied by Jugemu and the window Simon was looking through during Turnabout Storyteller.

[ The dressing room ] is supposed to have a wooden sliding door instead of a glass one, thank you Sims, but there’s a table in the middle and a fridge in the corner and a TV and a dresser with a very big mirror. The dresser and mirror are actually important since everyone in the Toneido Troupe pays special attention to their appearance before going on-stage. One of the corners has a small shrine/altar that was initially for the first Uendo and his wife, but now also has Taifu’s ashes as part of it.

[ Second floor pic ] where you can see the first floor lamps just hanging in the void because there’s no ceiling and I don’t know if the game understands gravity and physics. I mean there’s literally no floor and they’re just. Hanging there because I wanted them to.

The performance hall balcony can technically be seen from the floor below, but guests are not supposed to be able to see what’s up there and the view is almost always obscured by curtains. I just put a bar there in the Sims but it’s actually from where the lighting and the stage curtains are operated.

Over the dressing room is just a spare room that is almost more of a stroage room. Uendo likes to play piano there. But it also has a few other music instruments in it, and some painting tools, and Uendo’s baseball gear, Geiru’s ice skates, some dog stuff for Jugemu, and a lot of toys and materials for acrobatics that the Troupe used for performances. Right across from that room is the stairs up to the rest of the living space.

Upper left is the living room, which is supposed to look a lot more Japanese than the game can do. Next to it, upper right, is the kitchen. Taifu (left) and Geiru (right)’s rooms facing each other, both decently-sized. Lower left is Uendo’s room and lower right is the bathroom. Uendo’s room was never really intended to be a bedroom and Taifu just kind of turned it into that when he was adopted into the residence, which is why it’s much smaller than the other two bedrooms.

[ Living Room A ] [ Living Room B ] [ Kitchen ]

Gin-chan’s cage is pushed up in a corner against the stair rail and kind of hard to notice when coming up the stairs. The extra branch is for when the birds are given permission to fly around the room. The couch has a small table with a phone next to it, and is facing a big TV with stacks of movies and games on the sides. Taifu was a big reader and had a giant bookcase up against the wall.

The kitchen just generally has all the basics-- table, chairs, fridge, sink, oven, stove, dishwater, and a whole bunch of cabinets for storing pots and dishes and non-fridge food. One cabinet is entirely reserved for tea.

[ Taifu’s room ] is very minimalist. (Maybe not quite as much as in the game, but I didn’t really know what to put in there.) I put a bed but it’s actually meant to be a futon. The grey wall is intended to be all sliding doors and just one giant closet with mostly spare futons and blankets and sheets, and only a small section being Taifu’s clothes.

[ Geiru’s room ] is also a bit more full than in the game, but. Her closet space is almost entirely occupied by costumes and colorful outfits. Some of the clothes in there are Uendo’s hoodies that she snagged for herself because they were soft and that he still hasn’t gone back to reclaim. She has a big dresser wth a mirror that contains makeup and lotions and other beauty tools scattered in the drawers. There’s a mermaid statue in the game that Geiru may or may not actually have, but was honestly just put there to show where she keeps an old framed picture of her and her father.

[ Uendo’s ][ room ] is essentially a BIT smaller than in the above images. And a lot messier. Honestly game mechanics CANNOT do the disaster in his room justice. There’s his bed up against the wall/window (it’s a big window), there’s some box thing in the corner which is realistically actually a big pile of unfolded laundry, his desk has a computer on one half and the other half is supposed to be buried under pens and pencils and books and anime/video game figurines, plus more figurines and stuff on the wall shelves, Katsura’s cage in the corner, next to the bed is a big drawer with make-up and juggling tools and blank notebooks and USED notebooks and stacks of unused paper and used paper and color paper and some other random things and a mirror hanging over the drawer and the bookshelf in the corner isn’t supposed to be a bookshelf even though he’d love one and is instead supposed to be a tall-ass closet with ALL the clothes in it, his and Patches’ and Kisegawa’s and the stuffed bunny he got from Geiru as a kid is also hiding in there somewhere. The feather painting hanging over Uendo’s bed is actually supposed to be a small but growing cluster of “posters” from friends.

[ The side roof ] doesn’t have any “real” access. It’s a roof and wasn’t made for going on there. But Uendo likes to climb through the windows and lay on it for stargazing. Since Taifu’s death he also moved the laundry lines because going all the way down to the yard for it got annoying and exhausting.

Anyway, there you go. That’s more or less how I imagine the entire Kurukurutei to be.
