Wolfstar Microfic: Thirst

"Thirsty Thursday," James mused.

Sirius grinned. James had been excited for this party for a week. They weren't hosting, that was the Hufflepuffs, but everyone knew the Puffs knew how to throw a good party.

Remus seemed less excited by the prospect. "I'm not in the mood for drinking, might skip this one."

Sirius felt his face fall. What was an evening even good for if Moony wasn't there?

All of a sudden, Sirius wasn't feeling it either.

James would be fine, he'd have Peter.

"Maybe we could get up to our own 'Thirsty Thursday,' Moony," Sirius said.

Remus' eyes widened but Sirius couldn't tell why.

"Have tea and read in the best armchairs while everyone's out. Just us."

Remus beamed, and when he spoke his voice was gentle. "Yeah, that sounds nice."

James ruffled Surius' hair. "Aww, that's a cute little date."

Sirius and Remus both looked up at him in shock.

James raised his hands in surrender and backtracked immediately. "You've been doing all kinds of cute things people do on dates all the time recently, we just assumed, sorry if that was wrong!"

Sirius and Remus were both quick to respond.

"What!"

"Who's 'we'?"

Sirius hadn't even considered that question, but it was a good one.

James looked nervous now that they were a united front against him.

"Me and Peter, but c'mon guys, you go for long walks together and you sit cuddled up for hours and you keep giving each other gifts. Last week I walked in on you sketching pictures of each other!" Sirius felt his cheeks tinge faintly pink; somehow he hadn't thought of it like that. "Plus I mean c'mon, you both like each other!"

Sirius gasped. The absolute betrayal of James to tell Remus that. The horror of a precious secret being outed!

"How could you tell him that!" Sirius said, grabbing a pillow to whack James with. "That. Was. A. Secret." He said, punctuating each word with a smack of the pillow.

James had the audacity to be laughing, somehow.

But Remus wasn't.

"Wait, you do?" He asked.

Sirius dropped the pillow immediately, because the implication was clear in Remus' words: You do, too.

"Yes," he said immediately. "Yes."

"Okay," Remus said carefully, "then it's a date."

James looked more smug than he ever had before in his life, but Sirius didn't care, he only had eyes for Remus.

"Yeah, then it's a date."

I need a fic where Lily and Remus are super close like siblings. Like Lily has a moon necklace and Remus has one with a Lily and their most (all) the time together and Sirius and James are jealous (respectively) and it takes so long to realize their just friends cause James is very respectful, so he is falling for Lily, but respects her "relationship" so he is like "if friends is all we can be, so be it", and Sirius just straight up thinks (cause he is an idiot) that Remus is straight so he just yearns for something that "can't never be"

And Lily is losing it cause she is giving all the signs and doing all the necessary things and they're basically dating, but James is for some reason not making any moves

And Remus is yearning as well but he is like he would never looked at me like that and is happy with being just friends cause friend Sirius is better than no Sirius.

Jegulus star crossed lovers trope, except they're not ACTUALLY star-crossed, they just think they are.

James and Regulus are like, super grossly in love and shit, but they're determined that Sirius will be furious. Because after Sirius ran away, Regulus became a taboo subject among the Marauders, so James thinks Sirius will feel betrayed when he finds out. And he'd never want to hurt his best friend, but he also can't give up his boyfriend. And then there's Regulus, who really misses his brother, and doesn't want to risk making things worse by "stealing" James from him.

Meanwhile, camera flip to Sirius, who knows about James' feelings, and is desperately plotting to get him and Reggie together. Because James is his best friend, and he wants more than anything for James to be happy. And because, while he's sure Reggie hates him for leaving, he desperately wants a chance to make it up to his brother. Also, of all the people who could date his baby brother, he'd rather it be James, who he knows will treat Reggie right. (It also means Reg isn't dating that Crouch boy, which is a plus).

So we see Sirius masterminding James and Regulus into more and more compromising situations. But they're both so determined not to give anything away that it never works. The plans get more outlandish, but Reg and James just think they have awful luck hiding from Sirius, and Sirius thinks Reggie is just oblivious.

Cut to Remus, who knows everything, staring into the camera like he's on The Office. He has weekly bitch sessions with Lily to update her on the lack of process the three idiots have made. (In return, Lily rants about how Marlene and Dorcas still haven't realized that they don't hate each other, they just don't know how to process their very gay feelings for each other, so they won't get together, damnit).

Sirius Black sat in the dormitory, Peter and James next to them. The three had been sewing, cutting, painting, and glitter-ifying for the past few hours or so. And now they sat in front of the finished product of their hard work.

A pair of bell bottoms covered in red and black glitter, a cropped black vest, a leather jacket with moons and stars painted on the back and an array of badges on the front, and heeled boots with yellow and purple laces. Sirius had curled their hair, glitter scattered in the waves, a shiny black painted around their eyes, and cheekbones.

"You're gonna look great", James nodded in satisfaction with the look.

Sirius leaned their head against their arm, "I wonder what he's gonna wear."

Peter looked to James with a grin, the other boy returning it with a roll of his eyes aimed at Sirius.

Half an hour later, Sirius was ready, dressed up in their outfit. Just in time for the door knock.

They ran to open it.

"Remus", they breathed out with a smile, "you look amazing."

The boy smiler back, "So do you."

"I'll just grab James' cloak, one second."

As Sirius walked over to James' bed, the other two took the opportunity to dash to Remus in the doorway.

Peter smirked, "Nice date outfit, Moony."

"Thanks?" He questioned.

At that James folded his arms, "Sirius makes us spend hours every single time you two go on a date, just to plan and put together the perfect outfit. And here you are, every single date you go on, in the exact same outfit."

Remus looked down, sheepishly, "I'm sure it's not the exact same."

Peter pulled out the photos, holding up almost twenty polaroids.

In each photo, Sirius was dressed up in new, perfectly picked out ensembles, without a hair out of place (in the messy shag look). And Remus stood next to him, beige trousers that were a tad too short, a dark brown shirt, and a light brown knitted jumper. The only thing that changed were the amount of scars scattering his body, and the occasional ink stains on his clothes and skin.

Sirius started walking back, spotting the polaroids and grabbed them out of Peter's hands.

"Oh look! Our date photos! You look so good, Moony."

"Does he not know?" Remus mouthed.

James and Peter shook their heads.

Remus grinned, "I know what I'm wearing to our wedding."
