"Ils ne parlent pas assez" dans la fiction (They don't talk enough in fiction)

Sur les séries que je regarde pas mal, j'entends souvent de personnes dirent "Pourquoi le perso ne dit rien ou refuse d'écouter l'autre ?! Ils devraient communiquer." Le truc c'est que plus facile à dire qu'à faire, par exemple le conflit entre Marinette et Adrien, Marinette se sent submergée par son rôle de gardien. Elle veut que tout soit parfait et pense que tout ira bien avec Chat Noir. Mais elle ne voit pas qu'elle fait du mal à Chat Noir sans le vouloir. Marinette veut aider les gens mais a du mal avec leurs réactions émotionnelles. Par exemple dans Reverser, elle aide Marc en les faisant se rencontrer pensant qu'ils pourraient s'entendre. Sauf que ça se passe pas comme prévu et Nathaniel pense qu'il s'est fait avoir. De plus une fois que Marinette a confessé qu'elle était Ladybug. Elle se sent un peu mieux !

Mais Alya n'aime pas garder autant de secrets, elle comprends pourquoi mais ça lui donne un tiraillement entre ce qu'elle doit faire et veut faire. Elle finit par révéler à Nino qu'elle est toujours Rena Rouge. Et c'est ce qui la différencie de Marinette qui veut tout régler toute seule alors qu'Alya fait confiance à Nino de garder le secret. Surtout que dans le finale de la saison 4, elle a failli mourir si Carapace ne l'avait pas protégé. D'ailleurs dans l'épisode de Rocketear, Nino dit qu'un couple n'a pas de secrets. Le truc c'est que si une personne cache des choses à son bien aimé, c'est pas parce qu'il a pas confiance à ce dernier. Mais c'est parce qu'elle se sent pas prête ou bien a peur de la réaction de l'être aimé. De plus Marinette n'a jamais dit que à Alya que Lila l'a menacé dans les toilettes. Car Marinette bien qu'elle est confiante, a peur de Lila car c'est comme quand Chloé l'a harcelait avant qu'elle devenait Ladybug. Sans compter qu'elle aime bien aider les autres mais quand il s'agit de ses problèmes personnelles, elle préfère les régler toute seule. Sans compter qu'elle n'a rien dit sur son trauma dans Chat Blanc. Elle intériorise de plus en plus jusqu'à ce que Felix a volé les miraculous, elle finit par craquer et dévoile ce qu'elle ressent. Elle se sent coupable et ne comprends pas pourquoi Chat Noir est là après tout ce qui s'est passé. Chat Noir reste en la rassurant qu'ils vont récupérer les miraculous un par un, il a été le soutien dont elle avait besoin pour faire face au Papillon. 

Dans le prince des dragons, Rayla est revenu après être parti le jour de l'anniversaire de Callum. Alors on manque de contexte mais dans le comic through the moon. Elle laisse une lettre à Callum sur le pourquoi qu'elle s'en va pour traquer Viren et pensant qu'elle part pour le protèger. N'oublions pas que Rayla a vécu dans un village où les actes sont plus valorisés que les paroles. Sauf que ça reste assez vache, de plus même si Callum le sait, il a le droit d'être en colère contre elle ! Car elle est partie, leur mauvaise communication a du sens car Rayla essaie de réparer ce qui a été fait en espérant que les choses redeviendraient comme avant. Tandis que Callum n'est pas prêt à l'écouter et ça reste compréhensible. Surtout qu'avec Aaravos qui a prit contrôle de son corps pour rendre sa menace encore plus grande et les roaste sur leurs insécurités. Les sentiments de Callum sont confus, car d'un côté il est content qu'elle soit là mais de l'autre il est triste et colère. Ça fait beaucoup quand même ! Même quand Callum demande à Rayla de le tuer si Aaravos prend possession de son corps à nouveau elle refuse car elle ne veut pas tuer le garçon qu'elle aime. Quand elle voit Viren, elle lui dit qu'elle doit le poursuivre. Et Callum comprend, il a peur qu'elle l'abandonne à nouveau mais laisse ça de côté. Toutefois quand Rayla retrouve les pièces de ses parents, elle fait le choix de revenir auprès de ses amis. Elle aurait pu poursuivre Viren et les autres mais non elle a décidé de revenir auprès de Callum et les autres. Callum pensait qu'elle est morte et quand il la sort des gravas, il est rassurée de la voir en vie. Maintenant peut être que Callum est enfin prêt à parler Rayla. 

Dans RWBY, Blake s'enfuit suite à la chute de Beacon laissant ses amis derrière elle. Elle pense qu'elles seront mieux sans elle. Jusqu'à ce que Sun lui dit qu'elle peut faire ses choix mais ceux des autres bon après il a un peu imposé sa présence à Blake mais elle avait besoin d'entendre ça. Car après l'attaque de sa maison, elle va se rendre à Mantle avec les autres faunus. Yang était triste que Blake soit parti à tel point qu'elle disait qu'elle s'en fichait de où elle était. Montrant à quel point elle était blessée par elle. Quand elle revient auprès d'elles, elles mettent du temps à se réconcilier vu que Yang a toujours son syndrome post traumatique à cause d'Adam. Elle essaie d'être à l'écoute mais Yang ne veut pas l'écouter. Elles finissent par se comprendre quand elles se battent contre Adam, la cause de tout leurs problèmes. Elle se protègent mutuellement et tuent Adam, j'aime bien comme la scène est présenté car Blake jette son arme ensanglanté, elle est dans tout ses états. Alors que Yang essaie de la consoler puis elles se sont réconciliés. Dans le volume 7, Blake et Yang ont un désaccord au sujet d'Ironwood et parle d'Adam, Yang dit qu'elles ont fait ce qui doit être fait. Quand à Blake, elle veut pas refaire cette erreur, ça a l'air horrible ce que dit Yang mais Adam est celui qui lui a coupé son bras et a fait fuir Blake. Donc le ressenti n'est pas le même. 

Bref tout ça pour dire que oui il faut communiquer dans une relation romantique, platonique voir même familiale. Or il y a des raisons qui poussent les perso à ne pas en parler de tel ou tel chose et c'est compréhensible en soi. Souvent c'est pas parce que la personne n'a pas confiance à son interlocteur, c'est juste qu'il craint la réaction de ce dernier si il l'apprenait. Mais ils vont finir par en parler faut juste être patient. 

On the series I watch a lot of people say "Why doesn't the character say anything or refuse to listen to the other?! They should communicate." The thing is, easier said than done, for example the conflict between Marinette and Adrien, Marinette feels overwhelmed by her role as guardian. She wants everything to be perfect and thinks that everything is fine with Chat Noir. But she doesn't see that she's unintentionally hurting Chat Noir. Marinette wants to help people, but has trouble with their emotional reactions. For example, in Reverser, she helps Marc by bringing them together, thinking they might get along. But things don't work out as planned, and Nathaniel thinks he's been had tricked. Once Marinette confesses that she's Ladybug to Alya. She feels a little better !

But Alya doesn't like keeping so many secrets, she understands why, but it gives her a tug-of-war between what she has to do and what she wants to do. She ends up revealing to Nino that she's still Rena Rouge. And that's what sets her apart from Marinette, who wants to sort everything out on her own, whereas Alya trusts Nino to keep the secret. Especially since in the season 4 finale, she almost died if Carapace hadn't protected her. Besides, in the Rocketear episode, Nino says that a couple has no secrets. The thing is, if a person hides things from their loved one, it's not because they don't trust them. It's because they don't feel ready or are afraid of their loved one's reaction. What's more, Marinette never told Alya that Lila threatened her in the bathroom. Because although Marinette is confident, she's afraid of Lila, just as she was when Chloé harassed her before she became Ladybug. Not to mention that she likes to help others, but when it comes to her own personal problems, she prefers to deal with them alone. Not to mention the fact that she never mentioned her trauma in Chat Blanc. She internalizes more and more, until when Felix steals the miraculous, she finally breaks down and reveals how she feels. She feels guilty and doesn't understand why Chat Noir is there after all that's happened. Chat Noir stays, reassuring her that they'll get the miraculous back one by one, and that he's been the support she needed to face the Hawmoth.

In The Dragon Prince, Rayla returned after leaving on Callum's birthday. So we lack context but in the through the moon comic. She leaves Callum a letter about why she's leaving to track down Viren and thinking she's leaving to protect him. Let's not forget that Rayla has lived in a village where actions are more valued than words. Except that it's still pretty dirty to do that, and even if Callum knows it, he has every right to be angry with her ! Because she's gone, their miscommunication makes sense, as Rayla tries to repair what's been done but hopes things will go back to the way they were. Callum, on the other hand, isn't ready to listen, and that's understandable. Especially with Aaravos taking control of his body to make his threat even greater and the roast on their insecurities. Callum's feelings are confused, because on the one hand he's happy she's here, but on the other he's sad and angry that she's here. That's a lot ! Even when Callum asks Rayla to kill him if Aaravos takes over his body, she refuses because she doesn't want to kill the boy she loves. When she sees Viren, she tells him she has to go after him. And Callum understands, he's afraid she'll abandon him again, but puts it aside. However, when Rayla finds her parents' pieces, she makes the choice to return to her friends. She could have gone after Viren and the others, but no, she decided to return to Callum and the others. Callum thought that she's dead, but when he pulls her out of the rubble, he's reassured to see her alive. Now maybe Callum is finally ready to talk to Rayla.

In RWBY, Blake flees after Beacon's fall, leaving her friends behind. She thinks they'll be better off without her. That is, until Sun tells her she can make her own choices, but not everyone else's. Well, he's kind of forced his presence on Blake, but she needed to hear that. Because after the attack on her house, she's going to Mantle with the other faunus. Yang was sad that Blake was gone, so much so that she said she didn't care where she was. Showing how hurt she was by her. When she returns to them, it takes a while for them to make up, as Yang still has post-traumatic stress disorder from Adam. She tries to be a good listener, but Yang won't listen. They finally understand each other when they fight Adam, the cause of all their problems. They protect each other and kill Adam. I like the way the scene is presented, as Blake throws away his bloody weapon, she's a mess. While Yang tries to console her, they make up. In Volume 7, Blake and Yang have a disagreement about Ironwood and Adam, with Yang saying they've done what needs to be done. As for Blake, she doesn't want to make that mistake again. Yang sounds horrible, but Adam is the one who cut off her arm and made Blake run away. So the feeling isn't the same.

All this to say that, yes, you have to communicate in a romantic, platonic or even family relationship. But there are reasons why people don't want to talk about this or that, and that's understandable in itself. Often it's not because the person doesn't trust the person they're talking to, it's just that they're afraid of the person's reaction if they find out. But they'll talk about it eventually, you just have to be patient.

Thinking more about Chinese exchange student/fox Marinette AU, and after long deliberation, assigned new kwamis to everyone except Adrien, Gabriel, Nathalie and Alix. (Almost) Everyone else was picked by Ladybug, so of course Bonheur Rouge would make different decisions. Spoilers (?) under the cut.
