You barely spoke, you acted like the perfect daughter, and every stare in your direction caused your posture to stiffen, a smile to rise to your quivering lips, your trembling hands were forced to stay still as you handed them whatever it is they asked for.
Bakugou couldn’t keep ignoring these signs. It wasn’t like he was blatantly just unbothered, no it bothered him a lot. He bit his tongue when he watched your father’s scolding gaze burn holes into your hopes in dreams when he called your hero career ‘unnecessary and pathetic.’
He couldn’t fight it any longer when you sat quietly in his dorm, having just talked to your folks on the phone.
You were mostly quiet the entire conversation, he could hear your parents yelling at you through the speaker despite it being pressed to your ear.
“Are you okay?” Bakugou asked, completely out of the blue. You glanced over your shoulder at him and closed your eyes.
A shaky breath passed your lips and you turned to crawl over to him.
“No, no.” You cried, hugging him like a stuffed animal. You held him as close to you as you could, your hands grabbing handfuls of his crimson-colored shirt.
Bakugou was quick to grab you, holding you to his chest as you sobbed, your tears staining dark spots onto his shirt.
“What’s wrong?” Bakugou’s voice was soft, an opposing feature to his usual demeanor.
“I’m so tired.” You mumbled, wishing you could just ignore what was going on.
It was a constant battle between you and your parents. You just wanted them to be proud of you, you wanted to see them smiling at your graduation, cheering you on as you landed your first gig at an agency, hell maybe be those over-bearing parents that blab about how their child is amazing at book-clubs and sports bars.
But you’d never experience that.
“I just want them to be proud of me.” You could barely speak, you were shaking and it was hard to breathe, tears were spilling from your eyes like a broken faucet, and your nose was beginning to run.
“I know.” Bakugou’s quiet voice paired with his gentle hands began to calm you down as you wept.
“It will never be the same, but I’m proud of you.” Bakugou couldn’t give you parental love, all he could provide was his own form of love. But he knew someone who could.
It wouldn’t be the same as your own parents, but he knew more than anything that you were loved so dearly by his own folks.
So later that day, after wiping your tears away, he made a quick call and the two of you rode over to his house.
“It’s so good to see you again! I hope he’s not being too much trouble.” Mitsuki gave you a warm hug, one you wanted to last forever. You didn’t even realize you’d started crying again as you hugged her.
“Let’s-oh, hey are you alright?” Mitsuki’s red eyes filled with worry as she hugged you close to her. Bakugou turned at the sound of sniffling.
“Y-yeah. I’m all good. Just happy to see you.” You pulled away, quickly apologizing for staining her peach-colored shirt.
“Let’s look at embarrassing pictures of Katsuki!” She grinned, knowing just how to cheer you up. Bakugou erupted with anger as he quickly tried to salvage the photo album but it was too late.
Bakugou let it slide though. Watching your face light up, hearing your laugh as you looked through pictures of him as a kid doing silly things, he was happy to see you smiling again.
“You’ll have to bring over a photo album so he doesn’t feel so left out.” Mitsuki laughed. Your smile began to sink.
“I uh...” You stared at your lap. Bakugou looked up from preparing lunch to look at you.
“I don’t have any pictures from my childhood. At least, none in an album.” You admitted, embarrassed. Mitsuki’s heart dropped. Sighing she quickly stood and scrambled through a felt storage cube on a shelf.
Humming satisfied, she yanked Bakugou away and practically tossed him over the couch onto you.
You stared at him for a few seconds before hearing a click.
Snapping up to the sound, Mitsuki stood with a camera in her hands, smiling.
“Starting today, we are making a photo album! Katsuki! Smile!” Mitsuki yelled at her son, forcing the blonde boy in your lap to smile. You began to smile again as you wrapped your arms around him, tickling his sides as Bakugou hunched forward, a genuine smile on his lips.
The sound of another click set off.
It was the beginning of a plethora of photos. You began filling up an album with the Bakugou’s, ones on holidays, even on class trips.
Your favorite was one Mitsuki took of you and Bakugou asleep on one another from a long holiday road-trip.
With your head on Bakugou’s shoulder, his head resting over yours, Mitsuki had turned back and snapped a photo while Masaru drove.
Time began to heal old wounds, though there would still be scars. But even with scars, you could look back at memories from the healing process, and find good that had blossomed from the bad.
You loved Bakugou more than words could describe, and for this, and so much more, you were smitten.

My head is still funked up by meds, and I feel like my mind is being torn in a million directions at once. Can anybody else relate?
I've also got several stories going that I work on in pieces because I can't concentrate long enough on one.
A New Kind of Love CH3 - F!Reader/Eraser/Mic/Might - The first date is happening!!!
The Facility CH 2 - O!Izuku/A!Shoto/A!Bakugo/A!Kiri/A!Hitoshi - Izuku coming off the sedatives, meeting the Alphas, and learning to deal with his Omega instincts.
Blinded - Shota/Toshinori - Shota winds up blinded by a quirk because of Toshi, so Toshi volunteers to stay with and take care of him until it wears off.
Like Father, Like Daughter - Eraser/OC Kaori Kushinada - Four years ago, Kaori and Shota were in a relationship...and they were both thinking of making it more permanent. Especially after Kaori realizes she's pregnant. She plans to quit her underground work and apply to U.A. alongside Shota. Villainous - Deku/Baku - A villain with a quirk to bring out the worst in people manages to get his hands on Deku, bringing him to the dark side. Now Baku and the gang are working around the clock to find a way to bring him back...before he's made to do something truly terrible.
All I Have To Give - Quirk Omegaverse AU - Toshi/Aizawa, Mirio/Tamaki, Izuku/Baku/Kiri/Todo/Hitoshi - Placed in an old-timey AU where a peasant Toshi rose to power as a king's greatest knight and was one of the few responsible for taking out a great evil plaguing the world. When OC falls ill, and finds out it's aggressive and terminal, she decides to seek out All Might. Let him know he has a child. Maybe he would take her in...
Shared - Omegaverse - O!Izuku/A!Kiri/A!Baku/A!Shota - It' unusual for an Omega to be shared by two Alphas, let alone three...but they've all liked the adorable Omega for years and they've cooperated this long together, agreeing not to hit on him. Surely they could share now.
No More Stars - AU where Izuku gets shot down by All Might before he hops away, thus the slime villain gets turned in - Zuku is in the dark now. There's no more hope. No stars to light his sky. But his heart still yearns...it hurts so much. His mom isn't home, won't be back until late. He goes to the balcony, gazing up at the stars as he leans against the metal. It creaks...then, next thing he knows, he's falling. Now there really will be no more stars. This is how it ends...? How pathetic... Only...Bakugo and All-Might happen to be close and both see him falling. Bakugo thinks it's because of what he said, which causes him to panic and start to run his direction. All-Might thinks its because he told him he couldn't be a hero, and he's the one who winds up catching him as Baku yells at him. Izuku has a realization.

To find out who she is and why a civilian stopped to save a kid she didn't know. He tells her all about his life and has her listening to music as he waits.

Thank you for responding so fast! Could you do a bakugo(or midorya either is good) x reader fic where reader gets pregnant, then decides to leave before her s/o finds out. She leaves without a trace and only a few if any people know where she is. A few years down the line and her now former s/o stumble upon each other while she has the kid with her. Id like a better ending but do what you want!!!! I love your writing 'positive it'll be amazing!! sorry if this is oddly specific!

it was a cold night, turning from fall to winter.
you had been feeling off lately, but nothing out of the normal. but what had really set your nerves off was when you started having morning routine puke sessions.
your brain has been ruining wild. with bakugo competing to become top hero he would never have time for a child. he wouldn’t be able to be the father you wanted him to be. you knew what you had to do, but the difficult part was doing it.
first you had to make sure you were pregnant. you finished your shift at your daytime job. which you had took to not go insane waiting for him to come home, you went to a nearby drugstore and bought a test. you rushed home to take it before bakugo got home.
you entered your house, you were nervous, you were shaking badly. You were letting your nerves get the best of you. what if you weren’t pregnant and you were just overreacting? you and bakugo would be fine.
you walked into the bathroom, and quickly peed on the stick, set it on the counter and waited for it to decide your fate.
you sat down on the cold tile floors and waited, thinking of all the possibilities that could happen. if you weren’t pregnant you and bakugo could be happy, he could focus on becoming number one hero, and you could be there to help him. but if you were pregnant you’d have no choice but to leave. he doesn’t need a burden like that to keep him from being the hero he wanted to be. you didn’t even know if bakugo wanted kids. he didn’t seem like a family kinda guy. you were scared shitless.
you cleared your head and looked up at the counter, it had definitely been longer then needed. you reached up slowly grabbing the test. You faced it away from you until you were settled on the tile again.
you slowly turned it around, sucking a deep breath in and holding it.
there was two lines. you were fucked.
you started hyperventilating, this was the worst case scenario. what were you going to do? you couldn’t breathe you gasped trying to get air in but nothing was happening. tears were streaming down your face, and you shoved the test in your pocket, going outside to try and get air, you needed something something to get you out of this state.
you went outside and the cold air hit your lungs and it felt like millions of needles. Your breathing slowed down and you were calming down now. until you heard the door open. fuck.
bakugo walked in, two take out bowls of ramen in his hand, and he had a smile on his face. you couldn’t leave now, you can’t break him like that.
you quickly wiped your tears before taking a few deep breaths, and preparing yourself to go into the house and face your lover.
you walked inside trying to act normal, and you almost broke when he pulled you into a tight hug and gave you a quick kiss. maybe you could stay and raise it together, be happy.
your mood started to lighten until you both sat down and started talking about how work was.
“I raised a rank today baby! Isn’t that so exciting? I’m going to be working a few more hours so I hope you don’t mind do you?” he had a smile on his face, how could you ruin this? you couldn’t. you had to follow along.
you smiled “of course baby, I’m so excited for you. And working a few more hours wouldn’t help me at all” you put your hand under the table, pinching yourself to stop yourself from crying. biting back the tears, you finished your meal quickly and sat on the couch. Just wanting to relax and enjoy these last few moments.
bakugo came and sat down next to you, pulling you into his lap cuddling you. you let out silent tears and burned the feeling into your body.
the next day as bakugo got ready for work, you stayed by his side and touched him as much as you can, making him look weird at you.
“what’s wrong baby? your acting weird” he said and pulled you in a tight hug thinking you just needed extra attention.
“im gonna miss you katsuki that’s all” you mumbled trying to hold everything back as long as you could.
“I’ll be home soon princess don’t worry, I have a short day today I shouldn’t be long.” he kissed your forehead and grabbed his stuff to walk out the door.
“bye I love you princess” He said and with that he left.
you quickly gathered everything you needed, some clothes your toiletries and anything else you needed.
you quickly took a piece of paper and wrote bakugo a quick note.

after you left, you moved to America. leaving your life behind you tried to move on only telling a couple of your friends.
you had given birth on Halloween and had a beautiful baby boy. you named him suki. the nickname his father had. You wanted to remember him somehow.
you and suki had to move back to Japan, you had a huge work promotion and couldn’t deny it. you were scared that you would see him, and he would take your son away. you had coke something so horrible, and you wish you could take it back. Maybe his reaction would have been different then you thought. maybe he would have expected you.
you looked the same as you did the day you left. nothing had changed. Your son looked like bakugo, and it honest scared you. His hair, his eyes, everything. The only thing he got from you was his nose. so if bakugo saw you and your son, you were utterly screwed.
you and suki were walking through the park, it was a bright day and you thought it was a perfect day to go for a walk.
you and suki sat down at a bench and he laid his head in your lap looking up at the clouds. you closed your eyes and smelled the air.
“y-y/n?”
your eyes shot open and fear ran through your body.
“bakugo?” you said nervously, he was wearing his hero costume and looked like he was on patrol.
“Mommy look it’s ground zero!” your son jumped off your lap and ran towards him, pushing his arms out.
“I have a quirk like yours! I want to be a hero like you one day!” suki said happily, finally getting to see his idol.
“oh is that right little kid? show me your quirk” bakugo crouched down going eye level with your son.
he stuck his arm out and sparks flew from his hand “isnt it so cool! Mommy said that I’m going to be in a hero course!” your son was so happy, you hated that you took him away from this.
“Suki why don’t you let me talk to ground zero for a second come sit on the bench and wait for mommy” he went and sat down at the bench waiting for you
“I can explain jus-“
“explain! Explain why you have a fucking kid who looks exactly like me??” he was whisper yelling. trying not to disturb your son.
“the day before I left, I found out I was pregnant and I didn’t want to stop you from accomplishing your dreams to become a hero so I did what I thought was best and left.. I regret it everyday.” you started crying softly and avoided eye contact. you were embarrassed. you felt so stupid.
“Y/n listen to me. no matter what I want you in my life. I wish we could go back and change it but please let me be in your guys life. I’m a mess without you I need you. I want to get to know him and be a great dad for him please” he was begging at this point you were shocked, you thought he would hate you not want to see you not want anything to do with you but this? This is more than you could ever want
“Bakugo i would love a second chance. I would do anything to be like how we used to.” He stared to tear up, you’ve never seen him liek this before.
“I missed you so much” he pulled you in for a hug, wrapping his arms around you never wanting to let you go.
“I missed you to” your son got up, and ran over to the both of you.
“yay mommy we’re giving hugs!” He ran and hugged both of your legs.
you closed your eyes, hoping this moment would never end.

A: Affection (How affectionate are they with a s/o?)
Katsuki isn’t very affectionate in the public eye, he prefers to keep most things intimate behind closed doors. In the public eye, he will throw an arm around you or hold your hand. Behind closed doors, he likes to keep you close to him and press his lips against your cheek and hands that rest on your waist.
B: Breath (What could their s/o do to take their breath away?)
His breath can get taken away if you defend him. Being such a brash person, he’s likely to get some hate on him and he can hold his own, he doesn’t care what people say about him because he’s confident in who he is. But when he sees you talk back to some random person who was bad mouthing him, yelling and shoving your finger into their chest, he’s awestruck and impressed.
C: Cuddling (Do they cuddle? If they do, how and when do they cuddle?)
He wants to keep his image as this intimidating guy so he won’t ever admit it to anyone else but you, but he loves cuddles. He prefers to be the big spoon. It makes him feel better, like he’s protecting you even in slumber. His arms are firm around you, pulling you close to his chest. Often times, he likes to be little spoon, he likes it when you wrap your arms around him and whisper sweet things to him as he falls asleep.
D: Dream (What do they dream of doing with their s/o?)
He dreams of coming home to you and not having to worry about the outside world for a change. He loves to be a hero and he’ll strive to meet his goal but if he can just come home to you and have you pet him while he sways with you in the middle of the room. It’s a simple dream, but it’s so intimate to him.
E: Effort (How much effort do they put into a relationship?)
He puts a lot of effort in his relationships. He knows that he’s a lot to handle and that he can get tunnel vision, so he’ll always make sure that you know that you mean a lot to him. He’ll make sure to keep things on him that he knows that you’ll need, like a snack or pain killers.
F: Fear (What do they do if their s/o is scared? How do they handle it?)
If the fear is physical, say a spider or something like that, he’s getting rid of it immediately. He’ll scoop it up and toss it out the window and walk with you to the kitchen late at night if you need a snack. His career asks a lot from him and he knows it can put a strain on a relationship so he’ll get to the root of the problem and talk about it with you.

It’s small gifts- things that you’ve mentioned wanting before or bringing a snack on the way home. Gifts aren’t extravagant unless it’s a special occasion. He usually doesn’t expect gifts, he brought it to you because he wanted to, but if you were to give him something back, he’d deeply appreciate it and bring you in for a kiss.
H: Hugs (Do they hug their s/o? How often?)
He hugs fairly often. It’s more of him throwing his arms around your shoulders or hugging you from behind. He’ll hug you quite often through the day, always having an arm around you but front facing hugs are a bit rarer and reserved for when you two are alone. Those hugs always leave you breathless, they’re tight and he’s pressing you against his chest and burying his face in the crook of you neck.
I: Intimacy (How romantic are they? Do they have problems with intimacy?)
He’s a fairly romantic partner when with his significant other. He will make sure that you know where you stand in his life. He won’t go overboard with the flowers and chocolates, but he will bring you flowers on important days. He isn’t the most romantic person but he tries for you. He has no problems with intimacy. He might be stiff about it at first, but once he’s relaxed, it’s clear he has no issues with intimacy.
J: Jealous (Do they get jealous? How do they act when jealous?)
He doesn’t get jealous easily, he’s actually fairly tame if someone is trying to hit on you because he knows you won’t cheat on him and he’s confident in the relationship you have with each other. However, if the person continues to hit on you and you’re now expressing discomfort and looking to him for help, he gets jealous and will wrap an arm around you and tell the other person off.
K: Kiss (Are they a good kisser? Do they like to kiss? How often do they try to kiss you?)
He is a good but rough kisser. His kisses are pressed harsh against your skin and teeth nip at your bottom lip. He loves to kiss you, loves you hear you moan against his lips and feel your hands entangle into his hair. His kisses are a lot more prominent when you two are alone. You’ll wake up with a kiss and sleep with a kiss. In between, he’s leaning against you or kissing your shoulder.
L: Love (When do they say they love you? How often do they say it? Do they prefer to say or show it?)
Katsuki says the l-word fairly quick into the relationship. He’s a very emotional person and while the more negative emotions are shown, he also feels a lot in the other aspects. He’s one to say it out loud, acting as if it’s just another word, but his back is turned when he first says it so you won’t see the way he flares up and trying so hard not scream when the words leave his mouth. He prefers to say it- it leaves no questions about how he feels towards you. It’s common to hear him say it when it’s quiet in the room. He likes to say it and he likes to hear you say it.
M: Marriage (Do they want to get married? If so, what kind of ceremony?)
He would like to get married but it isn’t the biggest concern on his mind. He wouldn’t want to get married too quickly. His job is a lot, his life is at stake and he doesn’t want to risk putting someone close to him in danger or even in the position of knowing that he could just not come home one day. He’ll want to wait a while for marriage, just a few years to make sure that this is the life you really want. If he were to get married, he would like a fairly small ceremony with only close friends and family.
N: Night Out (What type of dates do they like to go on? How often do they like to go on them?)
Date nights usually consists of going out to a nice restaurant at least once a month. He likes quiet dates where you two can just catch up or eat in peace. He knows that eating at home or ordering take-out can usually get repetitive, so he likes to take you out and get dressed up.
O: Out of the Ordinary (What’s something they don’t normally do with/for their s/o?)
There isn’t anything he won’t do for you. You want him to run to the store in the middle of the night because you want donuts; he’ll complain but he’s already out the door. However, he won’t change his entire personality. He can tweak at it a bit, control his temper and what not, but he’s not going to be “proper, young man” for you. You chose to date who he is, that’s what you’re gonna get.
P: Playful (Are they playful in a relationship? If so, how do they play around/mess with their s/o?)
Katsuki is a playful person in a relationship. He likes to tease and poke fun at you for anything. He’ll hold you down and tickle your sides until your begging for him to stop. He likes to see you scrunch your face and stick your tongue out at him.
Q: Questions (Do they ask their s/o their opinion on things? Do they share theirs?)
He’ll ask for your opinion on things concerning clothes and body sprays. He wants to make sure that you’ll like what he wear and smells like. However, even if you don’t like something and he does, he’ll still get it- unless it’s body spray since that’s a something that will linger. He will share his opinion even if you don’t ask for it. He’ll look over your shoulder and make a comment, smirking when you tell him you didn’t ask and he’ll shrug and let the smile grow on his face.
R: Random (How spontaneous is their relationship? Do they do things on the spot or plan ahead?)
Relationships with him aren’t very spontaneous. He likes to keep things regulated since his job can call for him any moment and he wants to know he has a set date to spend time with you. On the very rare occasion that there is no date planned, he’s taking you wherever he can think of, grabbing your hand and tossing everything in a bag and going around.
S: Sleep (How do they sleep with their s/o?)
Katsuki will ease into sleep with your curled up on his side but if you happen to fall asleep first, he’ll stay up as long as he can watching you, tracing your features with his hand and pressing soft, feather light kisses against you.
T: Trust (How much do they trust their s/o?)
He trusts you with his life. He puts all his trust in you and will come to you with whatever problem he’s having. The amount of trust he places you is immense. He doesn’t like to keep secrets form you about his life, so he’ll go up to you and just talk to you.
U: Unique (What makes them unique as an s/o?)
He’s a very brash person who isn’t afraid to say whatever is on his mind concerning his S/O. He’ll call them out if needed. His temper is something that puts people off and makes him intimidating so to see him come undone with a simple touch, where you had this aggressive man who nuzzles into your touch, and will fall apart in your arms.
V: Vulnerable (How long until they can be vulnerable around their s/o? What are they like in this state?)
While he’s an emotional person, he’s also keeps himself very guarded. He won’t be vulnerable with you for a long time. Once he’s vulnerable, he’s taking shaky breaths and holding you tight, fingers that dig into you an face buried into your neck where you can feel tears slide. He’s a lot needier in this state, wanting to be close to you and suddenly he seems a lot smaller, letting you hold him and put him to sleep. He’ll wake up and be embarrassed about it, clicking his tongue and avoiding your gaze as he thanks you.
W: Wild Card (Random headcanon)
Always has cough drops on him and gargles apple cider vinegar in the morning and at night due to a sore throat because of all his screaming. You like to feed him marshmallows while he rests at night.
X: X-Ray (What would they do if their s/o got injured?)
If you got hurt because you stubbed your toe on the coffee table, he’s snorting and telling you to watch your step but the moment you’re out of the room, he’s shoving the coffee table somewhere else and putting a plant on it or something so it’s more noticeable. If you get injured by an outside source, either an attack or because you were caught in the crossfires of a villain attack, he’s stiff. He’s going to bite his tongue and hold you close to him but once out of sight, he’s baring his teeth and hitting things until his knuckles are bloody. His mission afterwards is to get whoever hurt you behind bars.
Y: Yuck (Do they have any pet peeves about their s/o? Are there any habits that might bother their s/o?)
You need to be able to keep a clean space. He’s fine doing all the cooking because cooking is a learning process and he wouldn’t mind teaching you how to cook, he would find it endearing and even a good sort of date night. But cleanliness is something that needs to be established. Everything has a place and everything should be in its place.
Any habits concerning him, would be that he is an early riser. He wakes up early and opens the blinds where the light will spill in and he’ll leave them open despite you still sleeping.
Z: Zeal (Are they passionate as a s/o? Do they want or like passion?)
He’s a very passionate person as it already stands so as a partner, he’s really into the relationship. He may not go out with all the gifts and surprises, but he’s going to make sure that you know that you’re loved. He needs passion in the relationship; he wants to know if you’re as committed as he is. He loves when you come up to him and sit on his lap or hold his hand without asking, he likes it when you’re passionate about your dreams and kiss him with so much force he’s taken aback for a second before returning it tenfold.

Pairing: AU! Katsuki Bakugo x F!Reader
Summary: After looking for months for a job position you finally get an opportunity at a big company. Being the assistant of the angriest person was going to be a lot harder than you thought it would be.

“Hey are they all coming?” Mina asked as she waved around the candy apple in her hands.
“Yeah.” Denki replied “I made sure to tell them. Y/n even said she would be joining us.”
A frown formed on her lips “I hope so...I want her to have a good time with her friends. Even though I’ve known Bakugo for a while now what he did was fucked up.”
“I can’t disagree there.” he said “I don’t see why she feels bad about accepting Midoriya’s opportunity. I would have been out of there if I was falsely accused.” even thinking about the situation still made his anger appear again.
“Let’s forget about it…we came here to have fun!” she exclaimed “That’s all that matters plus…the fireworks will be on soon.”
His cheeks turned light pink thinking about being alone with Mina during that explosive moment. “Y-yeah…I don’t want to miss it.” he softly said.
Denki’s phone buzzed, Shoto had sent him a message regarding Y/n’s situation. Mina looked around the crowded pathway seeing more people appearing by the minute. The stands were overloading and soon the food would be gone.
“What did they say?” she asked.
“Shoto told me they were waiting for Y/n when she told them she didn’t feel like tagging along all of a sudden.” he sighed.
“Whaaaaat?” she groaned “But she was excited to come! We even picked out her Kimono!”
“I know…” he reached out and held Mina’s hand “However we can’t force her to come…especially when there’s a chance that Bakugo might show up.”
“I guess so…”
Todoroki || 18:21
Hey Midoriya. Is there a chance you can come over for a moment?
Izuku’s eyebrow rose in interest upon seeing the message from Todoroki. He quickly replied and made his way to your place. However, when he knocked on the door he saw your figure standing in the doorway.
“Y/n?” he asked “What are you doing here? I thought you were on your way to meet up with the others.”
You bit your lip and awkwardly shifted your weight on one foot and then the other. “I…um decided not to go…” you mumbled.
“How come?” he looked at you in the eyes “You were excited to go yesterday…is everything okay?”
“I don’t want to run into him…there’s a chance they will be there…”
Izuku wanted to believe you yet there was something within him telling his mind that there is another reason why you didn’t want to go. Half of him knew it was because of the problem you have with Bakugo, the other half was telling him you wouldn’t be able to handle seeing them close together.
A small smile formed on his lips “There’s no guarantee that they will not be there. Even so…you should go and have a good time with the people who care about you. The festival only comes twice a year. I don’t want you to regret not going and miss out on what could be the best day of your life!”
‘He’s right…so why am I so hesitant to go…’ you thought. Deep down you knew the reason why but felt afraid of admitting what you know was the truth.
“I don’t want to force you to do something you don’t want to. But I also don’t want you to feel sad because of what happened. I’ll be by your side if he is there…I promise I won’t let him make you feel less again.”
You wanted to cry for some reason. Besides having three best friends you’ve never met such a kind guy in your whole life. People like him are very unique jewels that don’t get the amount of respect they deserve. Your arms wrapped themselves around his neck, Izuku chuckled nervously and hugged you back.
The hug lasted for a few seconds before you realized what you had done. “i-I’m sorry!” you felt your face heat up from embarrassment. “I-I s-shouldn’t have done that…-”
“N-no!” he nervously spoke “I-it’s okay! I’m glad I could help you out…Y/n.”
“Give me a few minutes?… I will quickly get ready,” you said. He nodded and walked inside your home. Butterflies erupted in his stomach, his eyes scanned the house seeing pictures hung up on the walls. It was a simple house but looked very elegant at the same time. Izuku walked over to the living room. There was a picture that caught his attention. It was a little girl in the middle of a small boy and two people.
“That must be her family…” he muttered “She looked adorable…” a soft smile formed on his lips as he looked at the picture. You had gotten your looks from your dad and those [e/c] eyes from your mom.
“It was my brother’s birthday…” you spoke. Izuku turned around, his eyes widened seeing how beautiful the Kimono looked on you. It brought out the color of your eyes not to mention the long braid that went past your shoulders. “He was excited to go on the roller coaster but soon after I didn’t feel well afterward and ended up going home. I felt bad he had been dying to go for such a long time.”
“I’m sure he knew you didn’t do it on purpose.” he said, “Even with the short time you guys made memories together.”
“We should get going before we miss the fireworks display,” you spoke changing the subject.
“O-oh right!’ he chuckled lightly ”You look really pretty by the way.“
“Thank you.” you tucked a piece of hair behind your ear, your smile widened.
“Oh I bought this for you,” he said taking a small plastic bag from his pocket, “I thought you’d like it and it matches your Kimono too.”
The flower’s petals were red mixed with white. It was truly breathtaking the pin was gold making the colors stand out. Your eyes lingered on the beautiful accessory, “Can you help me put it on?”
Izuku smiled and took it out from the plastic bag carefully. You tilted your head to the side giving him room to place it on your [h/c] locks. “It looks nice on you,” he said.
“Thank you.” you softly smiled and grabbed your bag. You both headed out and walked down the neighborhood with a comfortable silence.
“How do I look?” Abigail asked as she shyly looked away. “It’s my first...um time wearing a Kimono...”
“You look pretty,” he answered and stepped forward standing in front of her. “Here.” his hand gently tucked a loose hair strand behind her ear.
Her heart began to beat at an uncontrollable speed. Those teenage feelings from back in the day were returning, giving her slight guilt feeling for what she did to him. Abigail never planned on seeing him again never the less thought of falling for him once more.
“A-...um w-we should get going!” she said nervously “W-where do you want to go first?...”
Bakugo looked around seeing the many food stands. He wasn’t particularly hungry “I don’t feel like eating yet...are you hungry?”
Abigail shook her head “I ate a while ago. We can go to one of the game booths instead if you want. I heard there’s a balloon where you shoot it with a water gun.”
He chuckled slightly “Let’s go there first.” she nodded excitedly and walked towards the stand. Bakugo followed yet his eyes scanned the crowds of people. Deep down he wondered if he’d run into her tonight.
“Finally you’re here!” a voice shouted, you jogged over to your group of friends. Izuku hurried up and followed. “I thought you weren’t going to come!”
Mina pulled you into a bone-crushing hug making you wince “S-sorry!” you muttered. “I wasn’t planning on coming...but Midoriya convinced me.”
She then pulled away “Thank you for dragging her. I don’t think it’d be the same if she wouldn’t have come.”
“I agree!” Izuku said, “I’m glad she decided to come after all.”
“Let’s just have a good time tonight.” Shoto spoke, “There’s a lot to do.”
“Then what are we waiting for?” you said “Let’s go before the fireworks start!”
Iida smiled and looked at the lit-up place “There are a few game stands nearby we can go there first.”
“OOH!” Mina spoke, “Can we get a candy apple afterward?”
Denki chuckled “We can go afterward and eat as many apples as you’d like.”
You raised an eyebrow at them “I see I missed something.”
“They deny it but it’s obvious.” Hanta added, “They have acted like this for a while now.”
“At this point, I won’t be surprised that they’re suddenly dating,” Shoto said.
“Didn’t Kirishima come? He said he’d be here,” you said. “I hope he didn’t back down too.”
“Oh, he arrived a few minutes before you did. He said he had to go to the bathroom.” Denki answered.
“Should we wait for him?”
“I’ll let him know where we’re at,” he said. Everyone then agreed on a place and headed over. You walked beside Izuku the entire time making small talk and talking about your favorite festival food.
Kirishima jogged down the colorful lit pathway, “Shit!” he mumbled looking around and not seeing his friends. He pulled out his phone and saw a text from Denki. “Oh they’re not too far away.” he turned around and started to head towards the booth when he saw a familiar pair in front of the fish tank.
He squinted his eyes and realized it was them. Abigail had said something to Bakugo and left. He went over quickly. “I didn’t think you’d be here.”
His friend turned around “I wasn’t...” he placed his hands in his pockets “Abigail asked me and I decided to come. Weren’t you going to come with those idiots?”
“I was on my way to meet them when I saw you with her.” Kirishima said “You never liked to come to these sorts of things. Are you willing to be with her again?”
Bakugo became irritated “Why the fuck is everyone asking me that shit?” he rubbed the back of his neck “I never said I was going back. What can’t I simply hang out with an ex? Is it a crime now?!”
“I’m not saying you can’t.” he explained “But the way you’re acting around her says you have other intentions. I remember you having those same ones with y/n.”
“Stop talking about her as if I had liked her.” Bakugo said “If you’re only going to bug me with that shit then I rather leave it here.” he walked passed him but stopped as Kirishima spoke again.
“You can deny all that you want Bakugo. But you won’t be able to hide it any longer. You damn well know y/n didn’t pull that crap on us and if you’re wrong not only will you lose her as an assistant but also the only person who could have possibly made you happy.”
His head tilted downward standing silent. Everyone assumed how he felt yet Kirishima always understood him. Why were his words suddenly affecting him now? There was nothing he could say not when he didn’t even understand himself.
“Kirishima!” a voice shouted breaking the tension between the two brothers. “I didn’t know you were coming too!”
The redhead smiled slightly “Yeah...I came here with some friends of mine.”
“Oh did Mina come too?” she asked.
“I’m not sure...I left to go to the bathroom. I should probably head back myself too.” he said, “I’ll leave you guys to yourselves enjoy the festival.”
“We should meet up to see the fireworks!”
“I’ll let my friends know and see what they say.” Kirishima waved goodbye and left in the opposite direction.
“Katsuki are you ready to go to the next stand?” she smiled.
Bakugo nodded and followed her. Not a sound was heard coming from him, his mind became filled with too many thoughts to properly form a simple sentence.
The night had turned into a wonderful memory. Tenya and Shoto had managed to win against Denki in an eating contest. It didn’t end well for him since he got some whipped cream stuck inside his nose. However even Mina liked it that she didn’t find it weird only laughed at how hard he tried.
You and Izuku laughed the entire night. Enjoying spending time together and talking about different things. He couldn’t help but glance a few times at you. A smile lingered on both your faces during the festival. Your worries had disappeared with the help of your best friends and your new close friends.
“I've got to win this,” Denki said as his eyes sparkled seeing a giant anime doll that he had been dying to collect. “Can we please try this?”
“Do we have enough time before the fireworks display?” Shoto asked.
“We have about 30 minutes it should be enough time for one try,” Tenya said.
“I’ll win this in one try!” Denki exclaimed being cocky in front of his future girlfriend. Mina held onto his glass candy strawberries and the stuffed animal he had won for her.
“I think I’ll give it a try too.” Izuku said, “You think I can do it?”
You gave him a firm nod “You’ll win for sure!”
With confidence, he silently prayed he’d win so he wouldn’t make a fool out of himself. You stood next to him and cheered him on as he tried to score as many points possible.
“You’re close! Come on Midoriya!” you yelled “OOO! One more!”
He bit his lip in concentration, he pulled the trigger as hard as he could. “I got it…I got it…” he mumbled.
The bell then rang signaling he had won against Denki. “NOOOOO!” he yelled “I was so close! Another try please!” the owner shook his head and gave him a small figurine in return.
“Better luck next time.” Hanta laughed “You said you’d win and look who lost!”
“Shut up!” he retorted.
“You gotta admit he did good.” Kirishima commented, “I didn’t expect him to have a good aim.”
Shoto then walked over to him and whispered into his ear. “Did…you tell Midoriya?”
He shook his head and turned his head slightly so only Shoto could hear him. “I was going to but I didn’t have a chance I only told you and Tenya…as long as she’s not alone y/n won’t run into Bakugo.”
Shoto nodded as he looked at you, your smile was finally back after a few hard days. Being your best friend your happiness always came first before his. He just hoped that this night wouldn't be remembered in a bad way.
"Choose your price." the owner said looking at Izuku.
"How about the corgi stuffed animal and the white bracelet please." he said the man nodded and handed both prizes to him.
Izuku then turned to look at you, "These are for you. I know it may look cheesy but I hope you had a fun time y/n."
Your smile was filled with happiness and your blushed cheeks made it quite obvious. "It's all thanks to you and our friends. If I hadn't listen to you I would have regretted not coming." mustering up the courage you then wrapped your arms around his figure.
"Thank you for tonight." you mumbled. Izuku smile's widened and his arms then hugged you back tightly. His heart was beating rapidly as he realized how close you two were. This was a night he wouldn't forget.
You heard the sound of a flash and decided to ignore it. After a while you both pulled away. "NOW should we head to the top of the hill to see the fireworks?" Hanta asked.
"Oh right!" Izuku said "They should be starting soon we better hurry."
"I need to go to the bathroom actually. I'll meet you guys there?" you said.
"I'll go with you that way you won't get lost." Shoto said.
You shook your head "It's okay!" you chuckled "It's not far away plus I know where you guys will be. I'll be here before you know it."
"Alright be careful okay?" Kirishima spoke "Let us know when you're on your way back."
"Got it." you smiled and proceeded to walk quickly to the bathroom.
"I hope she doesn't run into him." Mina said "She's finally happy."
"If we went it would have been too obvious." Hanta added "As long as they're both distracted it'll be fine."
"I hope so." Izuku mumbled.
You checked the time to see you only had three minutes left before the fireworks started. Your walk turned into a jog as you focused on going to the top of the hill.
"The fireworks will begin in just a few minutes!" they announced. "Hurry you don't want to miss it!"
"Crap..." you made sure to watch where you going to avoid bumping into people. Everything was going fine you were about to go up the hill but crashed into something hard. Something sticky then got splashed onto you. "What the hell..."
You were about to leave when a voice stopped your tracks. "You should watch where you're going." they said "You could have gotten hurt."
Your nerves were starting to show up, you swallowed hard and looked away. "I-I'm fine...sorry..."
"Here." they handed you a piece of cloth "Your Kimono got ruined."
You waved him off "It's fine. I need to get going anyway."
"Are you coming back?" He asked.Your head tilted downwards not feeling sure about what to say. A part of you wished to never return not after the way he treated you.
“I...I’m not sure...even so there’s no use in you thinking about it Bakugo. I’m sure you can find another replacement.” you reminded “After all, I was a bolder in the way right?”
“Are you trying to make me feel guilty? I’m not the one who ruined everything I had worked hard on.” he raised his voice making you feel intimidated.
Taking a deep breath you relaxed and spoke what was on your mind. “I’m sorry...but you’re not the only one who worked hard on that project. Midoriya, Kirishima, and I also put our effort and countless hours for it to come out perfect. I didn’t do it...that I know...I have a clear conscious so there’s nothing I should feel timid about,”
He ran his fingers through his hair “It’s obvious Midoriya is the one covering for you-”
“Stop dragging him!” you interrupted. “I don’t know what happened in the past between you two and it’s none of my business. What I do know is that you’re acting arrogate and rude! I’m still an employee however I will not stand by and see how you bad mouth about him. Midoriya is a good boss and he’s been the only one beside Kirishima who has supported me! If you keep making those around you feel less then they’ll be the ones ending you in the end.”
Bakugo was taken back by your outburst. Never did he think his (ex) assistance would be the one to put him into his place. He wanted to retorted back and tell you off but it was impossible. Now he realized how much Midoriya was helping you than your own boss should have been doing. If he doesn’t come to terms then he’ll be losing you in the end.
“I didn’t think you’d have it in you to say all of this.” he suddenly said “Makes me think about why I even hired you in the first place.”
You on the other hand wanted to run away after making such a big fuss. There were a few people staring at you two which made things worse.All of these emotions were coming through none stop, you were on the verge of crying. And his comment did not make things easier.
“That’s what I ask myself.” you added “Still...there’s no use of talking with you sir. If you excuse me I need somewhere to be.”
You blinked away the tears that were forming on your eyes. Abigail then arrived as soon as you were out of sight. The fireworks started to light up the sky with beautiful patterns. Couples held on to each other and children looked at the sky in awe. Izuku scanned the crowd trying to find you.
“I’m here!” you slightly smiled going over to him. He breathed in relief seeing you arrive on time.
“You made it.” he said helping you to the top of the hill where the rest of your friends stood. “I was worried.”
“Sorry! There was a big crowd and it was a while until I was able to go around.” you lied. “I’m here now though.”
Izuku nodded and smiled slightly. You looked up at the sky and focused on the breath taking view. The bridge and boats passing by made the moment memorable. He kept switching from looking to the sky to looking at you. The way the light reflected onto you made your lovely eyes stand out. Bakugo closed his eyes remembering the scene that played out. Enjoying the display of colors was the last thing he wanted to do. Abigail looked up smiling as the patterns grew bigger by the moment. She then slowly brushed her fingers against his, startling him. He looked down at both their hands they were mere centimetres away from touching. Taking a chance he held her hand and brought her closer to him.
You looked off to the side and saw them both. Bakugo was holding her in a sweet embrace. Swallowing down the tears that were trying to escape you teared off your gaze and looked back up at the sky.
‘There’s no way...I’ll be able to work normally. Not when they’ll be together all the time. What am I going to do?...” you thought.
