"you hold the universe in your hands" is such a banger title I'd love to know the plot point for this.

this is another one of those semi dead wips that's from at least 3 yrs ago (so again, now i think the writing is 5/10 at best) but i've always been attached to my abandoned concepts so maybe sometime it will see the light of day <3 honestly i was just daydreaming one time and wanted to do some hand studies, and then said "i'll totally be able to write hand headcanon studies for all the characters in liyue, and then mond and inazuma" and i haven't gotten past xiangling's, so. the general concept was to write a bit abt all the playable character's we've met so far tbh. anyways have some of my chef daughter

For lunch, Xiangling takes some of the mushrooms you gathered and dried bamboo shoots from her bag, and makes three bowls of fragrant soup (and one extra, as an afterthought for a comically indignant Paimon). Xiangling falls silent as she cooks—there’s a light in her eyes and concentration in the air, and the only sound is the bubbling of the broth on the merry flame. Her hands are quick and nimble—a flash of the knife, bamboo slices tumbling into the pot, a quick dash of spring onion and salt. this was also when i was a lot more exposed to/involved in the x reader community, so the 2nd person rubbed off from there. theoretically this is all POV lumine (aether if you prefer, but really the traveler is just a vehicle in this and their personality doesn't affect anything), and i was trying to make it fit with the gameplay timeline so since xiangling's SQ was the first one you unlock after mondstadt chars, she was the first one I wrote. xingqiu would've been next, and then uhhhh idk lmao

Daycare SAGAU start idea

(This Idea is now living rent free in my grey mass I call a brain, do what ever u want from this intro fanfic idk might make more, but since its 1AM here i need my sleep, see ya later :P)

  It was a sunny day in Tyvat, the land of the world's largest rpg, which for some reason decided to suck you in so you could live the rest of your now immortal life surrounded by your so-called acolytes, showering you with affection and adoration to no end.

  Not that you mind being a Gen Z teen; just being on the verge of adulthood sounded difficult enough, but now? You get to have tea with Diluc and Zhongli, who are both great company; play pranks with Itto and Venti when you don't want to attend those boring asses meetings all day since they want the so-called blessed knowledge from their grace; eat and cook with Xiangling; and more! 

  At this moment you were attending to one of those meetings at the time, but this one was different because the ones that bore you like a math book where your teacher just keeps repeating the same shite over and over are for the high-ups, let's say, such as leaders, or sometimes, when times are tough, even the archons attend to help you out. 

  But this one?

  It was a public one in which the townsfolk of the nation you are visiting come together so you can help them out, be it with little fights over who did this or that or plans to expand or better the city or village so they could live better and have a more promising next generation, it was a great opportunity for the people to be in the same place as their beloved golden sun, in the most beautiful garden of their great palace, where their god generously let them in to enjoy the scene of the wonderful smell of the vast collection of flowers and calm scenery while they wait for their turn to present their struggles to their grace.

   "Next please." One of your ladies in waiting said this while another poured some tea into your cup for you to sip on; it was a hot day, and they didn't want you to go thirsty while attending to your duties outside. 

   "Good morning, dear one blessed by the sky above, I hope you could help this servant of yours in need of thy help," said a woman dressed in a green gown with floral designs. The woman said she clasped her hands together and looked at the foot of your chair, not daring to glance at her creator without consent.

   "Good morning to you too, my child. What can I help you with, dear one?"

   "My liege, please hear mine and my village's sorrows; we've been having crop problems and are afraid we won't be able to feed ourselves; please, dear grace from above, lend us some of your merciful tears above our land, and help these servants grow and prosper in the ground you've given us." She pleaded

   You were about to respond softly when you felt a tug on your slippery robes and saw a child no older than a five-year-old. Said child looked up and said, "Please help us, mama is worried so much, now mama doesn't smile like she used to." 

   Silence

   Everything came to a halt as the mother of said child tried not to shake in so much fear; how could she have been so careless, allowing her child to come so close to you, have the audacity to even touch you, or speak to you so casually? 

   "Please forgive me for abusing your sacred boundaries our grace!" She exclaimed, "I'll take any punishment you see fit to give me for my carelessness!"

   Glancing at the child and at the mother, seeing the adult so scared for no reason made you giggle, confusing the guests and your servers alike. I mean, getting punished for a cute little kid like this, what in the world was in the heads of these people?

   Piking up the child from beneath their arms, you let the little girl sit on your lap, bob your legs up and down, making a rocking motion, the child laughing, which made your heart melt. I mean, how could you not? The kids' cheeks were so fat you just wanted to squish them!

   "So your mama is all worried she can't smile much, huh?" You asked, "We need to make her smile a lot now, don’t we?" You said, making the child's eyes light up with joy, "Can you make mama happy again?" and "Sure you can, here." You said grabbing a bit of the water that had been heated up from the tea your maids were making, making it float and evaporate into a fluffy white cloud, and giving said cloud to the child, "This is a magic cloud; it will make your mama and everyone happy for a very long time, sweetpea," you said, placing the child down and nudging her back to her mother.

   Said child hugged you, saying "thank you" into your body, making it sound a bit muffled before running to her mother's arms. "Look, mama, the cloud is so soft and fluffy!" her child said with a huge smile on her face.

   "Thank you so much, dearly beloved! Oh, thy heavens' grace are so kind!" the woman exclaimed, bowing down with tears in her eyes, and then the mother and child returned, bringing the day of this meeting to an end.

   It was a good day. There wasn't much to solve besides that problem with almost no rain in that woman's village, and after a while of replaying the moment of the child in your arms, it made you think, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea to have a playground in that garden? If there were any parents that had to take their children with them for those meetings , they are bound to get bored, so why not? 

   And so next morning you told your servants to build a playground for the children, one in each of the palaces you own across all of Teyvat, so that if you were visiting other nations, the kids would have endless fun no matter where they were from!

   Plus, it could be a good distraction from all the formalities because, let's be honest, these people sometimes don’t know how to relax around you.

Lantern Rite 2023

The first two days were boring as sin. Nothing else to say about them. YaoYao got introduced and vanished, it’s a regular NPC storyline used in place of a playable character, it’s an excuse for another loredump and cares far more about the lore than the characters included, and I don’t care how often I need to say it - there is no point playing “who’s that Adeptus?!” in Liyue when Zhongli would happily answer every possible question anyone could ever have about that subject, and literally any other.

If you want to do mysteries like this, pick any other region, god. Also, please make a better mystery than “Madame Ping played a song this one time. It was a really bitchin’ song. Also a guy almost drowned. GUIZHONG EXISTED!”

Cloud Retainer is sexy now though. That’s cool, I guess. We needed that. Also, I love that every time Shenhe shows up lately she doesn’t know some extremely basic thing. Last time it was flavoured drinks, and this time it’s THE CONCEPT OF MUSIC, despite music being such a huge thing in her quest??? This woman has goldfish brain, I swear.

The epilogue was a little better - no lore dragging us down - and I was surprised (pleased) to see HYV actually picking up on the thread from the Chasm about Xiao needing to socialise more, and seeing him attempting (and struggling) to do so. Xiao is very cute. Nothing else to say. He raises my serotonin levels. I Like Him.

Although, speaking of Xiao, and I’m just throwing this out there - I think this event would’ve been better served if maybe instead of some rando from Fontaine trying to find the magical music playing person from another country that saved an ancestor’s life with breathtakingly beautiful music, we could’ve maybe leveraged the two characters in this event that already have that backstory, and were IN THIS EVENT, BUT WHATEVER. WHAT DO I KNOW-

Anyway, this event was clearly trying to be funny, and while seeing Xiao “?!” “um” “uhhh”ing was cute, the humour is definitely muted by the VA’s restrained performances, and the lack of facial expressions/restricted movements on the 3D models mean any scene always seems a bit slow and underwhelming and can really impact a joke’s delivery. More to the point, HYV really cares far too much about Zhongli’s dignity to be able to capitalise on a skit where both Hu Tao and Venti put a fair amount of effort into mocking him. His straight man routine is sorely lacking.

At the end of the day, it’s 40 minutes of people sitting around a dinner table and a decent chunk of it is “oh I met [x] at [y]!” As always, Genshin needs a script editor to trim the fat.

In terms of character dynamic:

Xiao and Aether’s slowburn romance friendship continues to be adorable, even if the foundation for its intensity is extremely shaky. Despite the fact that the PV wasn’t integrated into this year’s Lantern Rite at all, it did earn some points in my heart.

Chongyun, Xingqiu and Xiangling’s inclusions were mostly to justify the identity shenanigans involving Venti and Zhongli, but they were a bit lost in the scene despite this. The scene always seemed to forget they were there, which is a shame, because Chongyun has very specific beef with Xiao (per his mats) and Xiangling’s cooking should really be leveraged for comedy faaaar more often than it is.

Xiao and Zhongli is about what I would’ve expected it to be. Solid dynamic, no notes.

Hu Tao and Venti get on like a house on fire, which should really cause Zhongli more dread than it does. I did enjoy them burning each other, but again - HYV’s comedy is always a bit slow. Would’ve been great to see Zhongli lose his cool a bit.

It’s a bit sad that my relationship HCs about Xiao and Hu Tao, or Xiao and Venti, weren’t really challenged or confirmed in any real way. Due to Xiao’s dialogue about them in his mats, I’d assumed he’d already met Hu Tao and only knew of Venti, but I see that’s the other way around. Xiao clearly respects Venti a lot (the differing reactions between when you blame either Zhongli or Venti for Xiao’s awkwardness at dinner, plus Xiao’s reverence of Venti’s music, show that), but I don’t really get the sense that the two are “old friends”. If anything, Xiao having Venti as an “old friend” seems kind of odd given what we know of his backstory.

Anyway, I still think Mondstadt wins at festivals overall. Windblume soon!!! Looking forward to that!

Aether:So how bad of an idea was this? Admittedly I’ll eat a lot of things of varying quality so I can’t trust my judgment.

Aether:*sweating* S…Sayu? You’re still conscious right!?

Anyways, she kinda carried me and two others through the abyss.

Thoma:Why would Sayu go to the abyss on her day off? Why would she go at all.

Aether:Funny story, *hands recipe* I’m trusting you with this. It’s the special meal I made her. Call me crazy but I think Sayu, like all the other anemo people in my life, are lacking a balanced diet with sleep.

Thoma:Is that right? She looks completely spent, but she’s smiling.

Aether:Maaaaan I wish you were there Thoma. I don’t know many people that look at an Abyss Herald and say “leave this to me.” She was going so fast that even I eventually had to listen and pull back!

BOUNDARIES IN WRITING

Alright, I feel this should probably be said. The precedent I set with the content on this blog is clearly a bit... Yknow, NSFW. Kinky. But I have limits of my own, and I feel it necessary to address these before anyone asks for them!

-Minors are entirely OFF LIMITS from NSFW writing. If you come into my askbox asking for NSFW with a minor I will publicly shame you. /th

-I WILL NOT do the really weird kinks like piss/scat, anything gas-related, anything involving the menstrual cycle, or anything involving inflation (feeding kinks are on thin fucking ice). Size kinks with tummy bulges are fine though. I've already written a breeding kink fic because breeding kink go brr but prego/mpreg is just no. R*pe is a no as well but I will do dubcon if the idea is good enough.

-That said, PLEASE don't be mad if I don't get to your request right away if it has a specific kink! I am not knowledgeable in all kinks and probably need to do research on some to make the content of good quality!

-You're free to send in emergency requests and I'll do my best to get to them, but I can't guarantee I'll get to them.

-I can write comfort fics for Eating Disorders, Self-Harm, Trauma, etc. I struggle with these as well and reading comfort fics is my favorite coping mechanism.
