Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Chapter One
The High Council of Asgard – decades before Loki's reign
"It is decided then?" Asked the Allfather his ally and good friend - King Laufey of Jotunheim, who sat across the golden table in the council room. The Frost Giant nodded, lifting his goblet of mead as a sign for his approval. "It is decided. As soon as I am back home, I am going to set everything into motion and send you my son as soon as possible." Odin lifted his goblet as well and gave the Jotun king a nod. "Here's to our alliance." "Here's to our alliance."
Tumblr media
"Skane, go get my son. I need to talk to him." Laufey told his advisor as soon as he walked through the big, heavy doors of the palace. "Yes, your majesty." Skane bowed to him and left his side immediately, in order to execute his king's order.
The prince wasn't very difficult to find these days. He'd be either in his chambers, the library or the training grounds. Today, Skane found the prince in the library, nose buried in a book. "My prince? Apologies for the disturbance, but your father is back and he wishes to see you immediately." With a slightly annoyed huff, the young prince closed his book. When his father called for him, it was wise to not let him wait. It was a lesson he had learned quite fast and early in his life. So, the heir to the throne followed his father's advisor without complaining. "Do you know what he wishes to talk about with me?" Skane shook his head. "Unfortunately not, my prince, no." The two men made the rest of the way to the throne room in silence. The heavy stone doors swung open with a thud, revealing King Laufey, who was seated upon his throne. "Father! You're back! I hope you had a pleasant return trip. How did the council meetings go?" The prince asked in a rather cheerful voice, knowing that the king likes to be welcomed back duly. "Just fine, son. We need to talk." Laufey said, standing up. "Let's go for a walk, shall we?" Loki took a small bow. "As you wish father."
King and prince went on a walk through the barren and bleak royal gardens then. Not a single flower was blooming in the beds. Well, Jotunheim had just gone through a very rough and cold winter. But spring was definitely approaching. The small buds on the trees were the proof. Soon, the cold realm would shine in all its magical glory. "What were you up to when I was away, son?" The prince shrugged his shoulders. "Oh, you know father... The usual. Reading, training, a bit of hunting..." Loki didn't dare to mention, that he plagued the one or other royal staff member with his pranks. He was a grown man, but sometimes he liked to act like a younger version of himself. Praying to the Norns his father wouldn't get whiff of it. "Sounds auspicious." Loki gave his father a nod, before asking again: "What is it you want to talk about?" Laufey took a breath. "The Allfather asked me for a favour..." His father's words caused Loki's expression to darken. He suddenly had a very bad feeling – and a guess. "Father, is this once again about me getting married? If so, I told you that I do not wish to get married now. I don't want to-" "It is not." Laufey interrupted his son's rant. "Even if I'd be more than just pleased, when you'd finally find a woman. It is long overdue. When I was your age, your mother was already pregnant with you. Our people are expecting this. They wish to see their future king finding his queen and provide an heir to the throne." The young prince rolled secretly his eyes, hearing this for the thousandth time. Oh how often he had this conversation with his father already. How often did they end up in a fight because of this… So, Loki tried to swallow his anger and pride. "I know, father, I know. I will get to it, I promise. I'm going to give the people what they want. Just not now." Laufey sighed, knowing that he had lost - like so often. What more could he do than telling his son over and over again?
"What is the favour the Allfather asked you to do then?" "Well… Strictly speaking, he is asking you." The raven-haired Jotun stopped in his tracks, quite surprised. "Me??" The king stopped in his movements as well, facing his son. "Yes. He needs a good warrior to train meticulously chosen Æsir. Someone who can turn them into soldiers within a month." Loki frowned. "What of prince Thor? He is a great warrior." "The crown prince is detained; currently stuck on Muspelheim for royal duties. If prince Thor's conversations with Surtur are not fruitful..." Loki quickly connected the dots. "Odin wants to be prepared." Laufey nodded. "Exactly." "But... Why me? There are great warriors on Asgard." The king placed a hand on his son's shoulder. "Because he wants the best."
That was how Loki, son of Laufey, crown prince of Jotunheim landed on Asgard a mere week later - ready and prepared to train a handful of amateurs. Men, who didn't even yield a weapon before. But the Allfather didn't ask Loki for nothing. If someone could handle this, it was him. Odin and Laufey were sure of it.

"A royal… warrior academy?" You asked your father, who sat across from you on the dining table. "Yes, my dear. In case your brother's attempts of negotiation fail, we have to be prepared - and given the fact that we don't have enough warriors, we need to train more men." "Why only men, father? What if there are women who'd like to become a warriors as well?" You spoke in a demanding voice, crossing your arms. "Because only men become warriors. You, of all, should know that, daughter." "What of Sif? Isn't she a warrior, too?" "Sif is an exception. The only exception." You felt how the anger started to rise within you. "What if I wanted to become a warrior, instead of a princess?" Your father scoffed, already hating where this conversation was going. "I am not discussing this with you again, Y/N. We've talked about this. Several times. I won't allow my only daughter to spend her days on the training grounds. You have other duties to tend to! Find a husband for example!" You looked away, gritting your teeth. You hated it. Just because you were a woman and highly interested in learning how to fight properly, didn't mean you'd neglect your duties as a princess. And yes. Sometimes you rather wished to be warrior and not a princess. But who were you to choose? You had no other choice than to accept the place you were in - like your father so often told you. But what if... An idea suddenly crossed your mind. Hiding the smile on your face, you told your father what he wanted to hear. "I beg you pardon, father. You are right, of course."
"You are planning to do what?!" Estrid - your personal maid turned best friend asked with wide, frightened eyes. The young woman shook her head. "Y-Your highness, that is... foolish and risky a-and-" You grabbed the girl's shaking shoulders, causing her eyes to fixate on you. "I know, Estrid, I know. But I have to do it. It's probably the only chance I will ever get in my whole life. Father is never going to let me on the training grounds and I can't always sneak into the old armoury to train. It's my dream, Estrid." Your friend sighed, again shaking her head. "I know, Y/N, but it's dangerous." You nodded. "It is. That's why I need you to maintain my cover. Can you do that for me? Please?" She swallowed, thoughts running at lightning speed through her brain. "I know I ask a lot from you, but please. You are my best friend. I trust you." A moment of silence passed, before Estrid started to nod, giving in. "Alright. Alright... I'll do it." A relieved breath left your lips. "Oh thank the Norns!" You lunged forward then, hugging the blonde-haired woman. "Thank you so much." Estrid offered you a nervous smile, nodding. "Don't worry. We are going to make this." Again a nod. "Do you even know who is going to lead the training?" You swallowed hard. "Yes. Prince Loki of Jotunheim." Once again the maid's eyes widened. "Prince Loki of Jotunheim? I heard he is a very cold, harsh man... And his father is a very good friend of the king. Y/N, this is really risky. You can only hope that he won't look through your charade... If he does, you are in big trouble..." "He won't, Estrid. He won't." "I hope so..." The woman stated, taking a short break before continuing. "Have you ever met prince Loki?" "Personally? No. I have seen him once, but that was ages ago. Thor sees him way more often, given the fact that he's the future king. Plus, they are kind of friends, so..." A cheeky smile darted over Estrid's face at your words. "He may be a cold and brutal Frost Giant, but I also heard that he is a very handsome man and an even greater lover. Hopefully you won't get distracted on your mission." You scoffed, shaking your head appalled. "Certainly not, Estrid. No man or prince will be able to distract me. Don't you worry."
Little did you know, that you were going to eat your words just a few days later...
"How do I look?" You asked Estrid as you stood in front of the full-length mirror in your chambers, eying your good work. The young maid stood beside you, mouth formed to a perfect 'o'. "You look... amazing, your highness..." She was visibly and audibly stunned. You were surprised, too. You didn't know that you were able to turn your appearance into a man that easily. You wore a traditional Asgardian tunic - male tunic. One that hid the curves which indicated you were a woman. You had cut your own hair quite a bit, turning it into a man bun. All your female features were mostly gone. It was breath-taking. "Yes, I do. It's almost terrifying." "Now you need to just work on a deeper voice and a more manly walk." You turned to meet Estrid. "By the Norns, you're right! I-I mean..." You cleared your throat and tried to lower your voice as deep as possible. "By the Norns, you're right!" Estrid broke out in giggles. "Not good?" "No, no, no, I mean... It's good, Y/N! It's perfect. All you have to do is work on your walk, but the rest... If you can keep that up, no one's going to notice it." "Let's hope then I can keep it up." Estrid nodded. "And now let's go. Unless you'll be late." You grabbed your things and sneaked with your friend through the secret passageway only you, Thor, Estrid and the Warriors Three knew of, out of the palace. "You know what to do?" "I know what to do. Don't worry, my princess." With a last goodbye and a hug, you swung yourself onto your horse (which Estrid had kindly prepared for you earlier) and rode off. Your parents thought you went on a 'learning journey' through Asgard, getting to know different plants and animals... Advanced training, so to speak. Estrid had the task to maintain the cover for you.
The training camp was on the outskirts of the city. It was about an hour ride away from the palace. You had managed to sneak into your father's office and write a fake name on the list, so you'd be surely awaited. And indeed... Two guards were standing in front of the big wooden doors. The piece of land was fenced by high, thick walls. You took a deep breath, as you neared the doors. This was your dream, wasn't it? All you ever wished for. Why were you so nervous now? Your horse came to an halt in front of the guards and you dismounted the horse, before you took a small bow to the guards. "I'm here for the royal training, in order to serve the king and Asgard." You spoke in your deepest voice possibly, hoping that the guards would buy it. They did. "Name?" One of them asked, eyes fixated on a list. "Váli Ákison." The guard's eyes roamed over the list, before he nodded. "Open the door." The door got opened for you, causing you to swing back onto your horse and ride inside the camp. Your eyes widened at the sight before you. There we a lot of beautifully crafted tents, alongside a big fireplace. Men were bustling around everywhere. Some of them in tunics like you. Some of them already dressed in traditional Asgardian armour and a few of them, which you recognised as palace guards. Excitement spread through your whole body.
After you were handed your armour and assigned a tent, you retreated into said tent to change. You were ready. More than ready for this.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient during dry spell, and who has continued to send well wishes and kind thoughts. I cannot tell what it has meant to me.

The cold hallways of Skadi’s great fortress, where it stood as guardian between the realms of the living and the dead, were predictably stark and massive, all hewn from meteoric rock by a combination of the crude strength of giants and draugr and the magicks of Hel. While nothing to the splendor of Asgard’s palace, or outhouses if it came to that, Loki silently admitted that there was a rough grandeur to both its scale and the gleaming texture of the stone which, along with a few floating orbs of glowing ice to give light, were as close as there came to anything hinting at decor.
No doubt Skadi considered interior design beneath contempt, which was just as well for Loki was certain her taste would leave everything to be desired.
Leaving his cell had been insultingly easy. No guards stood outside of it nor was any elaborate spell or clever cantrip used to keep him within. Loki had touched the blank side of the lock’s hasp on the interior with the tip of a black claw, scraping it in circles to cause the lock to pick itself. The spell was one that he had created in his youth when he and Thor were oft times sent to their rooms to ruminate on their misbehaviors.
As if Loki were ever inclined to guilt or Thor to thought.
Loki peeked out, as did Nora. She no longer even came to his shoulder, so she stood under his arm.  They each looked up the hall and back, and then at each other.  With her head tipped back, Nora’s throat was rather appealingly displayed to him, making him wonder how hard he could bite the side of it with his fangs before it would cause her the unpleasant sort of pain…  And could he make her enjoy even that….?
And could he…?
Closing his eyes to take a moment to gather his thoughts from where they had sunk, Loki realized that not only had the transformation to this primitive Frost Giant form done wonders for his poor, wounded cock, additionally it had woken in him the Jotun enthusiasm for mortal flesh.  Combined with his own - and here he beat back the word that wanted to come to the forefront of his mind - fascination with Nora, it would make for a dangerous distraction.
“Are we going to go for it or…?”  Nora was still looking at him, brows raised, soft mouth wet and ever so slightly open.
“I don’t know that this is the time or the place,” Loki said, trying to sound unwilling though he knew his tone was more smarmy than disinterested.
“I mean, should we go, you big weirdo.  I know some people are turned on by dungeons but they probably aren’t literal dungeons.”  She frowned slightly.  “Though it wouldn’t be an option for most people back home, even if they were into literal, actual dungeons.  In which case I’m not sure-”
He could tell that her nerves were getting to her and that she would go on like that indefinitely if not stopped.  Carefully, he did not quite touch her lips with one of his newly grown black talons, since he was unsure how sharp they were, and nodded.
“Right, yes.  We should get on with it, then.”
Also, wrong. For in his case, literal dungeons seemed to be a turn-on, presuming Loki was interpreting that human expression correctly.  He’d certainly spent enough time in them to develop not a fetish or rather, at least a lack of squeamishness about what was appropriate or even enticing to do within one.
He held the cell door open, allowing Nora to slip under his arm, and then carefully shut it.  Despite that care, the metal on metal on wood of it seemed to ring out like a carillon in the still and silence.
Peering within each cell as they passed proved that they all were as empty as the hallway.  At its end nearest to the metal gate that separated them from the stairway up and out there was a massive lock-up that looked as if it were designed to hold dozens.
Within was the only other prisoner they had seen, who seemed to be asleep or unconscious beneath a pile of furs in a back corner.
Nora pointed towards the pile, then made a gesture towards the lock on the cell door.
Absolutely not, Loki thought, walking on.
Her now so tiny hand hooked around his wrist, as her fingers could no longer come close to closing on it, and pulled.  Where before her touch had been warm now it burned.  Burned through tough, blue skin, through muscle, to bone, where it seemed to ignite his marrow, lashing him with fire on the deepest level possible.
He was wonderstruck how much he craved the pain, the ache.  Wanted to know how if her cold little hand caused that much fire what might her mouth do?  Or Bor help him, the sure venomous wet between her lips, between her legs.
Turn him into a pile of tumescent ash, Loki rather suspected.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?” Nora whispered.
“As someone with far more enemies than is the average, I can assure you otherwise,” he whispered back, leaning down close to her ear, trying not to sniff her skin.  Even when blue and bedecked with horns a prince should keep a little of his dignity.
“Still, Skadi is… her people are…” Nora stopped and looked down at her dress and frowned.  “They aren’t very respectful of their prisoner’s persons.  It would feel shitty to leave someone here.”
Her voice was less than steady, less than Nora.
Not liking to consider what that might mean, Loki tucked her tone away for later questions when they were free. “That may be so, but she wards the borderlands between the living and the dead and trust me, there are plenty of true criminals, necromancers, graverobbers, and multiple fashions of the ambulatory dead that she has good reason to hold imprisoned.  Also,” he added, “this is not a prison break, it is more in line of espionage, which means the fewer involved the safer.”
“If someone is being held here at least it would be more of a distraction for the guards to be chasing them and us,” she countered, sounding more like herself.
“That never really works the way one thinks it will.  Besides which, don’t think I don’t know that you simply want to release whoever it is for a bit of revenge on Skadi and her hamfisted chambermaids.”
“And you, of all people, have a problem with that?”
“On the contrary, in more typical circumstances I would be all for it, but we are on a mission, as you might recall.”
“Normal circumstances?  What normal circumstances would… never mind, I just remembered who I am talking to, which considering the current state of both of us doesn’t say good things about my sense of reality.”
That was, Loki thought, feeling the weight of his horned brow and again noting her sartorially created cleavage, an understatement.
“Plus, I’m not sure I wish to be rescued by such noisy people,” came a voice that most kindly might be described as sepulchral from the pile of furs, which shifted about and then fell off the figure that rose from beneath them, stretching tall enough that skeletal fingers scraped the ceiling. “What good would come of it, if I were to then be talked to incessantly?”  Dark, blue-skinned, and of a size of an Asgardian, with glowing green eyes, and a decidedly undead thinness draped in a shroud rather than a shift, it took Loki a moment to recognise the woman for what she was.
“Disir…” he let the word trail away, sliding his foot to the right and shifting his shoulders so his vast body was between her and Nora, though he trusted Skadi would not hold such a creature in her fortress were she not sure of being able to keep it contained.
“One of,” she nodded, “Hlökk.”  She moved towards the front of the cell, her motions quick yet stiff, as if from the cold.  Rather, he knew, it was from her muscles being desiccated, her sinews dust, her entire self animated by will and spite rather than life.  With a final, swift jerking motion she stood all but resting against the cold iron bars.  Close enough that her papery blue flesh began to wither from its influence.  Standing effortlessly on the tips of her toes, she peered into his face, a smile of cracked teeth and parched lips flashed, and then retreated.
“I have not seen a Jotun of your type since I was a young girl newly in the service of Bor, and they were ancient and few then.  Those last died upon my sister’s spears, or so was thought.  But you,” she, without Loki’s scruples, took a deep, sniffing breath, leaning her head back and opening the corrupt cavern of her mouth like a cat to taste the smell of them upon the air.
“You look of Jotunheim yet smell of Asgard, giant.  Or is that her?”  Quicker than he could see Hlökk stepped twice to the right so she could aim her nose towards Nora.  “No,” the Disir dismissed.  “Mortal. Full of death and decay. But you, you are-”
The Aesir had few enemies that they feared, for to die in battle against a worthy foe was their greatest good.  The cannibalistic, ever-dying, never-dead Disir, cursed by Bor to crave the flesh of those they formerly served, were at the top of a very short list.  Though only a handful in number, stories of their enormities and disgusting habits had been used to keep naughty Asgardian children from creeping from bed late at night for eons.
Naughty Asgardian children other than himself, of course.  The boogeyman or haint had not been born that could have kept young Loki from wandering the halls and secret rooms of the palace under cover of friendly dark.
“Keep your nose to yourself, Disir, this is one god you will not gorge upon.  Come along,” he then said to Nora, gesturing towards the stairwell.  She frowned and seemed inclined to argue when the Disir ran her long, dehydrated tongue over her lips.
A sound like dried leaves being blown across stone.
“Aesir and Jotun flesh as one.  A delicacy untried by me or any sister of mine….”
“Right,” Loki knew there were bars and his magic between the Disir and his becoming her supper and he did not care.  Lifting Nora’s little self into his arms, he ignored her protests and took three long strides when behind them the Cursed One whispered.
“The Bók Lífs og Dauða .”
“Wait,” Nora said.
Loki took another step.
“What else might Odin’s Trickster changeling want in the hall of his most implacable enemy?”  The words were spoke soft and thoughtful as were, “How helpful might it be for one to know just where the Giantess kept such a treasure.”
Loki whirled about, stalked back to the cell, realized he was still holding Nora who was now within reach of the Disir should it choose to reach its spindly, iron-muscled arm through the bars, and quickly put her down and placed himself back between them.  He realized it was a false gallantry since he was what the nasty thing was interested in getting her teeth into.
“Let me guess, you know where the Book is, and in return for your freedom you will tell me where to find it?”
Nodding, glowing green eyes managing to look amused, the Disir said, “And you give me one of your toes.  I am well past starved.”
“Absolutely not!”
“What the fuck?”
Loki and Nora’s protests tangled together.
The Disir leaned against the bars of the cell, picking at her gray and broken nails, “Ragnarok is coming early season.  I would think one little piggy would be small enough payment to put the Twilight of the Gods off by a few hundred millennia or more, Odinson.  Your father’s favor would be the least of your rewards for such an act.”
He looked down at Nora, who spoke in a quick whisper.  “Do you know who she is?  What is she talking about?  Why does she want one of your toes?  What the hell is wrong with everyone in space?”
It was a good question.
He had a better one, for the Disir, “Why should I trust you?”
The Disir spoke, this time in Ancient Asgardian rather than the All-tongue, so Nora could not understand.
“Trust is for naifs and babes, I shall give you my Word of Bond upon mine and my sister's unlives.  Take it, Trickster, or walk your little mortal through the endless halls of Elvidner until she freezes or you are caught and she is dragged to Skadi’s bed to die serving there, and you back to the witless brutality of this pit, that shall end in your skinned body being hung from the battlements.”
With a sigh, Loki answered back in the same language, “Well, if you put it that way, I suppose I’ll still have nine more.”  He reached towards the lock and then halted, “I choose which one I give up.”
The Disir inclined her head.  Graciously.

Because I'm Bored:
Where do I rank in terms of MCU Loki Apologism?
Things I think Loki was justified in doing:
1. Killing Laufey-For all he knows, this was the man that abandoned him to die from exposure. This is revenge in its purest form and ALSO a way to show his loyalty to Asgard and Odin. And based on the original script, Loki was illegitimate and an unwanted runt abandoned to die (I also think he is not fully Jotun, and I think this played into WHY he was abandoned).
2.Lying to Thor about Odin’s death and his banishment-Loki just discovered he is a Frost Giant, like the ones Thor swore to kill, has been shown to have killed at the slightest provocation, and Asgard thinks of as monsters. Making sure Thor does not return is self-preservation. As a closeted person, I find the idea that Loki should have told Thor or known he would understand, ridiculous.Have you all not heard of living situations with bigoted relatives with a history of violence?
3. Nearly killing Thor with the Destroyer-Notice his previous attempt to keep Thor away did not involve violence and would have sufficed if Thor’s friends had not interfered… Say you have a brother that hates people like you, with a history of violent behavior towards people like you, and with the ability to fry the fuck out of you or smash you into puree with his magic hammer. Would you like to have that brother around?
4. Impersonating Odin and sending Odin to a retirement home-It’s self-preservation. Frigga’s no longer there to plead for his life. And I find it hilarious he was the only one to give Odin a taste of his own medicine. GOOD FOR HER! And how the fuck would he have known about Hela? Odin had been able to break through Loki’s magic, but he just decided to chill on Earth for some reason, and dump Hela’s existence on them.
By the way, I saw an interesting theory that Odin remained on Earth to strand Hela on Midgard so that she’d lay waste to Midgard instead of Asgard, but Loki calling the Bifrost changed that, ironically saving Earth and dooming Asgard. Technically, that would mean Loki unknowingly doomed Asgard, but I am not mad. How much like Odin to shuck his problems away for others to deal with.
5.Escaping from the TVA the first chance he gets. Self-preservation.
6. Being the Villain. Technically, that’s the TVA’s fault. They’ve pruned Lokis whenever they veer away from their ordained path. LOL I feel like Villain PR saying this and I am laughing my ass off. And although it’s for shits and giggles, it’s technically true in the MCU?
Loki’s not justified in:
1. Letting the Jotuns in for shits and giggles. I have seen way to many people claim it’s because he cared for Asgard, and that’s bullshit. He was jealous of Thor and he has no qualms sacrificing others (like the handful of dead guards and Jotuns) to fulfill his plans.
2.Attempted genocide of Jotunheim. Self-explanatory. He was only wronged by one Jotun, not the entire realm, and even if the entire realm had wronged him, genocide is NEVER a warranted option.
3. Cutting Sif’s hair. That’s just unnecessarily cruel. I headcannon he likes to sabotage relationships.
4. The attempted betrayal at Sakaar. Not sure what was going on through his head at that point. I think he got angry because Thor compared him to Sakaar, which he actually hates, and seemed to have given up on him. Or does he think keeping Thor and himself on Sakaar will keep them safer because they won’t confront Hela? I will go with a bit of both. I could DEFINITELY go into Villain PR mode and argue he was justified in trying to keep Thor “safe” in Sakaar because the Revengers didn’t really have a plan other than “go back to Asgard and try to fight Hela and die trying”. But I still don’t personally think it was “justified.”
5. Stabbing Thor. I just included it because it’s not justified based on context, since it came out of nowhere. But I would not use it to condemn how “Evil” Loki has ALWAYS BEEN in those posts complaining about Loki’s woobification. I would need more context on how grave an injury that would be for Asgardians. Is it some typical childhood game/fights wound? Asgardians survive being Hulk smashed, the void, impaled, and a freaking Neutron star. A stab seems like a slap in comparison. It has the same level of justification as slapping your sibling in the face when you were a kid. Unjustified, but not a big deal.
Things I am on the fence about:
1. Whatever the fuck happened for him to end up with Thanos. It’s unclear how much was him and how much was the mind stone, coercion, or some other kind of mindfuckery (there are altered memories (being yeeted by Thor into the Void rather than letting go) and that scene with the Other implying threats, past torture, psychic pain, or future torture). I think he wasn’t exactly innocent nor entirely willing. I think he saw Earth as his brother’s ant farm that he will fuck around with out of revenge, he approached Thanos willingly, but then the Black Order gained too much leverage and control on him, and the situation snowballed out of his control into an avalanche.
Another head-cannon I have is that Loki actually died in the void, but was brought back from Hel. He was willing to do anything to avoid returning there, and it’s why he made sure to try to die in battle in TDW and IW. The need to avoid Hel cultivated a fucked up sense of gratefulness and vulnerability that was exploited by the Black Order (maybe I will write it sometime). I think this because him and Thanos talk too much about resurrections and dying multiple times. Either of my Head cannons imply threats and therefore coercion, even if the Word-Of-God mind stone influence is not involved. But we also don’t know the how and why Loki ended up with Thanos.
2. I don’t think I can blame him for Frigga’s death. I know he blames himself, and he definitely had some malicious intent when giving directions (not towards Frigga). Giving someone the directions to the stairs shouldn’t exactly change much? It’s not like he plotted with the Dark Elves and disabled Asgard’s defenses. The elves were tracking the Aether and would have found it eventually, and Frigga was protecting Jane and willing to sacrifice herself for Jane. Frigga’s death is more on Jane for being reckless and fucking around with unknown phenomena without a scrap of PPE or caution, becoming a mcguffin for the film’s entirety. Jane has the common sense of white people from horror movies. Woman has no braincells. There, I fucking said it.
3. I don’t know how to feel about the opening scene in IW and I hate it. I just think it was a terrible plan and a waste of character development. And we don’t even know if it had any significant positive effects. It was both self-sacrificial and selfish nonetheless. Did it keep Thanos from killing more Asgardians? Did it only save Thor, and was that the only thing Loki cared about? If so, Loki sacrificed the entire universe for his brother. Very in-character, but it was a waste of sacred timeline Loki.
Things other people were justified in:
1. Heimdall being suspicious of Loki and attempting to behead Loki as the king regent. Heimdall was suspicious of the blind spots in his vision. Who can hide from him? Loki. And then he caught Loki quite red-handed.
2. I don’t know why Thor gets so much shit for not knowing what’s up with Loki in Avengers, and I doubt he could help him or that Loki thinks he would or could help him in the first place.
3. The Hulk giving him the ragdoll treatment. It’s hilarious and the best part of the movie. And I mean, he did wreak havoc in NYC.
4. Thor electrocuting Loki in Ragnarok. Loki was about to betray Thor. And again, they are pretty hardy. Loki survived the Hulk, the void, and impalement. Enough said. Could this have ended horribly for Loki? Of course and there are wonderful DEAD DOVE fics about it.
5. Sylvie being angry after he broke the Tempad and got drunk. Self-explanatory. How the fuck does this ever get called “abusive”? They both could have died because of Loki's tomfoolery.
6. Sylvie killing HWR and sending Loki away. It was not “abusive”, she’s barely known Loki for IDK how long. Compare that to having a goal for millenia. And she sent him away because she didn’t want to kill him.
7. Sif kicking him ONCE like it happened in the original timeline because he cut her hair. Self explanatory, and kinda eye for an eye. But what the TVA did was just cruel and unnecessary (and basically torture).
LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED ANY MISDEEDS

Long Live The King
Pairing: Jotun Loki x Asgardian F!reader
Warnings: assassination attempt, not much this time, mild fight near end...
Summary: you are an assassin sent by Odin to kill the King of Jotunhiem, nothing could have prepared your for what happened......
Part one-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You sat in your chamber sharpening your dagger when a knock came at your door. "Come." You called out continuing your work. "Lady y/n, the king requests your presence." You heard, looking up seeing an Einherjar standing attention in your doorway. "What does he require?" You asked sheathing your dagger. "He requires your presence." He said again making you roll your eyes "very well, lead the way." You said getting up. Following him down the abandoned halls you came upon the large golden doors of the throne room. "Lady y/n to see the king." He said to the other guards as they opened the door.
You walked in seeing Odin sat on the throne gripping gungnir. "My king." You said placing your fist on your chest going down on one knee. "Lady y/n, glad you could join me." He bellowed through the room. "If I may be so bold, what is it you require of me?" You asked bowing your head. You heard him bang the spear on the floor "leave us." He called out, looking around you saw all the guards filter out. "Y/n, what do you know of the frost giants?" Odin asked making his way down the steps. "That they are cruel, evil beats, monsters your highness that the realms would be better off without." You gritted "very good, I have a task for you." Odin said. You looked up at him furrowing your eyebrows "come, I will show you." He said turning on his heel, his cloak billowing behind him.
"Why not send Thor? Does he not posess mjolnir?" You asked looking at him. "He is too brash, I need someone trained in stealth to sneak in under cover of dark and end him while he sleeps." Odin said "and that's me?" You asked raising an eyebrow "yes y/n, I have seen you train. You are quiet, agile. I believe you best suited for the task." He said. "Very well my king." You said placing your fist on your chest. "Very good, pack only what you can carry, speak of this to no one and meet me at the bifrost within the hour." He said "yes my king." You said bowing leaving the room. You went to your chambers layering your clothing, grabbing your thickest cloak with fur trimming fastening it to your shoulders you grabbed your daggers strapping the holsters to your thighs, slipping another into your boot you grabbed your gloves heading towards the bifrost.
You followed him into a small room behind the throne, walking in you saw a desk heaped with papers and maps. "Y/n, I do not give you this task lightly, but I trust you can handle it." Odin said rounding the desk "and what task is that?" You asked "the King of Jotunhiem has been attacking our allies on Vanahiem and Alfhiem, cutting off trading to the realms." He said shifting through some of the papers. "And there are talks amongst the people that they will try here next. Here, in case you are discovered." He said handing you a scroll. "Their king is ruthless, blood thirsty. He will not stop until he rules the nine realms." He said.
You walked in seeing Odin and Heimdall "my king... gatekeeper." You said bowing. "Y/n, we will have to send you by other means, the bifrost will alert too many." Odin said talking to Heimdall. "Here, take this." He said holding out a small bottle "if something happens and you cannot return you will freeze to death in Jotunhiem's frozen wasteland, This will make it more....bearable." He said as you nodded slipping it into your pocket. "Good luck y/n, may the God's favor you." Odin said "my king." You said bowing. You felt Odin place a hand on your head reciting some sort of spell, closing your eyes your body felt light as his words began to fade to the back of your mind. You felt a cold wind hit you face, opening your eyes seeing the barren landscape of Jotunhiem.
The cold wind blew through you as you squinted in the dark. You pulled your cloak tighter around you, shielding you from the snow while you looked around trying to get your bearings. You looked into the distance seeing Utgard shooting up to the sky "there you are." You said to yourself smiling beginning to walk towards the large structure thinking of a plan. The further you walked the worse the storm became, forcing you to take shelter in a near by cave until it broke. You huddled into a corner pulling your cloak up when you heard footsteps at the mouth of the cave. You got to your feet pulling your dagger out ready for a fight "h..Hello? Is anyone here?" You heard making you freeze. "Please..i...I n...need help!" They called out. You slowly stood looking around the rock seeing a man hunched over rubbing his arms.
Tumblr media
"P..please....I don't know where I am!" He called out again. You sheathed your dagger slowly walking out "who are you?" You called out getting the man's attention. "My name is Magnus, who are you?" The man asked. You walked closer taking him in, his long black hair was stiff from the cold, his lithe frame only covered by a green tunic and black leather pants "how did you get here....Magnus?" You asked circling the man "I don't know! One minute I'm walking down the street the next I'm here." He said sitting down leaning against the rock wall. "And how have you not froze to death?" You asked watching him. "I..I j...just got here." He said, his teeth chattering. "Where are you from?" You asked keeping your distance. "I...I'm f..from V..vanahiem." be stuttered pulling his knees up to his chest.
You unclasped your cloak walking over to him draping it over his shoulders. "W..where are y..you from?" He asked looking up at you, his bright green eyes catching your attention "Asgard." You said plainly stepping away from him. "S..so you c..can call t..the bifrost?" He asked pulling the cloak around him. "Yes. But I have to do something first, stay here, remain hidden." You said walking to the mouth of the cave. "W..wait...don't l..leave me." He said getting up. "W..what if t..those monsters show u..up." he said looking at you. You sighed "fine, come on but stay out of my way." You said walking out.
You jogged to the capital, hoping that if you kept your blood pumping you wouldn't freeze, ducking behind a large block of ice you looked at the gates. "W..where is e..eveyone?" You heard Magnus ask next to you. "I don't know, just..stay here I will return shortly." You said pulling a dagger from your holster. "B..but..." he started "I said stay here!" You growled glaring at him as he sunk back down. You crouched down slowly making your way to the gates, noticing the only sound was the wind howling. Your gut was screaming something was off but you would not fail the king. Steadying yourself you continued, crouching down in front of the gated seeing them slightly opened. You looked back seeing magnus's black hair blowing in the wind waving for him to get down you slipped through the gate.
You stayed to the shadows, slowly looking for where the kings chambers may be when you came upon two large ornately decorated doors. "Well, this is probably it." You whispered to yourself. grasping the handle you slowly pushed it open slipping inside. You ducked behind a chair looking around, other then the fire the room was dark, the wall was lined with bookshelves, a desk sat in the corner with papers strewn across it. Seeing another set of doors across the room you slowly made your way to it, gripping your dagger you slowly pushed it open seeing a large four poster bed as someone shifted under the furs. You crouched down, slowly making your way to the side of the bed, standing up you held your dagger up ready to pounce.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." You heard making you freeze. Looking over you saw Magnus leaning on the doorframe admiring his nails. "What are you doing you idiot, I said wait for me." You whisper yelled. You watched as he unclasped your cloak tossing it aside "you aesir....so naive." He laughed stepping into the room. "Wha.." you trailed off, seeing his skin begin to turn blue, his red eyes boring into you. You stepped back looking at the now empty bed "h..how did..." you stuttered hearing him laugh. "A simple illusion, although I don't expect your tiny brain could comprehend it." He snarked walking closer.

You gripped your dagger "so, who are you really then?" You gritted watching him slink closer "oh, where are my manners, i am Loki Laufeyson King of Jotunhiem." He said smiling holding his arms out. Taking in his height he was much taller then you but much smaller then a frost giant. "I did not know the jotuns had a runt leading them?" You snarked. "You will take care how you speak to me asgardian." He growled "well, we won't be speaking long." You said lunging at him but he was much quicker, grabbing your arm he flipped you over his shoulder, your back hitting the floor hard. Gasping for air he straddled your hips, his knees pinning your arms down as he smiled down at you. "Oh, I disagree, we have much to discuss, but that can wait." He smiled placing his hand on your forehead he said something you didn't understand as you were pulled into darkness......

𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐤𝐢 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞
⤷ female, ambiguous race, and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: Frost Giant Loki doesn’t get enough attention and HE DESERVES MORE.
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
𝑺𝑭𝑾🌿
・Jotun Loki has had a much better upbringing than the Loki raised by Odin.
・He has so much more vigor for life, and is much nicer to the general public. He wouldn’t dream of having to prove himself, or by taking over any cities or realms.
・Frost Giant Loki is actually one of the sweetest beings alive, you just have to get past the lingering arrogance of a prince.
・Likes to show you off; “Hey Thor, have you met y/n?”    “Yes Loki, we have had the pleasure of meeting.” “How amazing is she? I mean -”
・He makes sure that you’re always safe, because you are very very small compared to him
・Always making sure you’re having a good time, no matter where you are “We can leave if you no longer desire to be here, my love.”
・Fun-loving and always wants you to have a smile on your face
・You met at a wedding you were working at. Thor and Jane (in this universe) were getting married and you were employed to serve the food and drinks.
・It was verging on ridiculous, how much food had been prepared. Even though Loki and only a few of his close companions were the only frost giants at this event, they had overcompensated for their food and drinks.
・Your first encounter with him was surprising; he was flirtatious but mindful. Knowing that humans were much more fragile than he.
・However, he was a prince, and you were expected to treat him as such. But there was something so enticing about him that you wanted to be in his presence more and more.
・The venue where the wedding was held, also fronted as a restaurant. And whenever Loki visited Thor, that’s where he insisted on going.   “Loki, why is it always this place? There are many other food vendors we can try!”        “I ... really like the pasta...”
・Jane caught on, Thor was oblivious. “Ask. her. out.” Jane had prompted. Loki’s cheeks darkened; a prince embarrassed.
・He did not want to scare you away, but Jane insisted he needed to be the one to talk to you.
・And he did, somehow getting your number but not being 100% what to do with it. Since the technology wasn’t the same in his world. And yet, that was the great thing about having a scientist friend. Jane made a way for you to communicate from your differing realms.
・You were stunned; caught off guard that you would even be considered. Since you came from two COMPLETELY different worlds. But it worked. Somehow, weirdly enough it worked.
・You usually sleep on him. It’s like having the cold side of the pillow always. And it actually helps with headaches
・Likes it when you stroke his face
・He makes a lot of inappropriate jokes
・Likes to take you to his realm, his home. He also likes showing you the other realms; making you feel so amazed at this life.
・Teaches you about his culture and how he grew up “Yes, and they actually throw you over the cliff to see-”
“Loki! No! Did they really?”
“No, but I do like seeing that look on your face darling.”
𝑵𝑺𝑭𝑾🔞
・You guys get creative ... you have to, I mean Jotun Loki is huge and it is physically impossible for him to be inside you.
・BUT, I do think that Jotun Loki would approach a witch or wizard/warlock, maybe even Doctor Strange, to make him a potion that allows him to shrink to human size. He still has his physical attributes of blue skin, red eyes etc. But the potion allows him to shrink as much as he can (which is to 6′9, compared to his usual 10′)
・The potion worked for only a limited time...but that didn’t matter. Even though vaginal sex was great, you and Loki came up with ideas to keep both of you satisfied.
・There’s a lot of rubbing, humping, and toys involved.
・Frost giant Loki likes to make you laugh during sex - you’ll be in the heat of the moment and he’ll lick inside your ear.
・Oh he does like licking though, just licking everywhere ...
・Everything feels amplified because not only is a giant, but his temperature is also cooler. It makes your nipples so hard, and he loves playing with them. Sometimes it feels torturous, how hard and sensitive your nipples get.
・Loves dirty talk; he’s very good at it. Sometimes he can get you to cum just by talking
・He’s a louder moaner, and it’s so awkward when he’s at your place. Your neighbours give you weird looks - well even weirder looks as your boyfriend is blue

Loki/Basim's background and motivations analysis
Based on AC Vallhalla, Mirage, Dawn of Ragnarok, The Golden City novel, and Forgotten Myths comic
To start with, the creator of Sages, Darby McDevitt explaines Sages as such.
Basim and Loki are the same being born in different time periods. Basim is Loki, but has amnesia of his past Isu life. It is only after accepting his Loki side (aka Nehal) that he lifted his amnesia and remembers his first life.
Edit: Sarah Beaulieu, narrative director of Mirage, indicates it may be a takeover, contrary to Darby below. Seems the lore is still unclear.
Tumblr media
So here is what we know of Loki/Basim's background.
Tumblr media
Loki had brothers once, but Basim did not. From the Edda's we learn of two older brothers; Byleist and Helblindi. His Father's name was Farbauti, which translates to 'Dangerous striker'.
Tumblr media
In the Golden City we learn that Loki's father was extremely cruel and violent towards him, and apparently never loved him. From a young age, Loki would have felt unworthy of love. He was a child. He needed love to feel safe, but instead was forced to adapt to violence. Also, note how sad he is in the text. He's neglected and traumatised by his childhood memories.
Tumblr media
It's saddening how Loki/Basim is filled with a childlike jealousy at Hytham's care for Leo. Because deep inside Loki/Basim craves that parternal love and affection which he never recived. And perhaps Basim's architect father provided a balm for that, but it was not enough, because even this father abandoned him by dying. And again he is forced to grow up fast as an outcast amongst society.
He is not evil, and had ambitions. Basim wanted to aid the less fortunate and had a strong sense of justice. We never met young Loki, but Baldr approached Loki specifically for mentorship in diplomacy.
Tumblr media
[I will need a mentor in the art of diplomacy - and none is shrewder than Loki. - Baldr]
From an Isu perspective it would have been sensible to employ Loki as a Diplomat. It might have been his actual job, which explains why he was free to travel between the warring empires. Not just that, but he is half Jotnar and half Aesir. In the games Loki referes to himself as a Jotnar, but in the comic he acknowledges that he is not a pure-blooded Aesir, indicating his mom was Aesir.
The comics indicate that he was born and raised in Jotunheim, being well familiar with the area and serving as Baldr's guide.
[Jotunheim, realm of the frost giants was a harsh land. But Loki knew it well. For six days he guided Baldr through the mountains as they sought their treasure, evading the residents of that terrible place.
Loki: Stay in the shadows and out of the sunlight, no matter how tempting the warmth. Jotun eyes are keen and there are many about.
Baldr: Aren't you cold?
Loki: Don't mistake me for blood-kin Baldr. My father was bathing in blizzards while yours lounged in summer fields.
[Baldr is freezing in place and becoming an icicle while lamenting death.]
Loki: Perhaps I should have come alone.
Baldr: I couldn't let you risk the danger on my behalf. Not when I am invunerable and you-
Loki: - can endure the cold better than any pure-blooded Aesir? ]
Jotunheim under Jupiter/Zeus/Suttungr seems to be North America. Perhaps Loki grew up in Alaska or Canada. Loki is also a frost giant with the ability to manipulate ice (might also be a piece of Eden or bio-engineering).
The comics show that Loki loves spinning tall tales and has a real passion for story crafting. Baldr was aware of that and played that to his advantage.
[Appealing to my ego? Transparent, but... effective. - Loki AC Forgotten Myths after Baldr sweet-talks him.]
Loki has a big ego, and is aware of it too. In general, he seems keenly aware and insightful of his own nature, and engages in philosophical musings with Baldr. A sense of self-preservation drives Loki, and he uses this as a shield against anyone that threatens to do him harm. Loki is quick to fear death (as are most beings of course), but Loki's fear of death seems extreme, possibly steming from deep-rooted trauma.
Tumblr media
[My nature is neither better nor worse than the next man's. When I am kind, it is because it suits me. When I am cruel, it is to preserve my existence - and that of my kin. The fear of death is the root of my "callousness." - Loki]
Tumblr media
[I cannot be other than I am. All of this was fated. All this will happen again.]
Loki fully believes in fate, and so justifies his actions as already being calculated by the fates. There's no point in trying to be a better person if the fates have already declared you to be the bad guy, which is how every other character makes him feel.
[Have you considered that Havi may not want Loki redeemed? - Freya to Baldr in AC Forgotten Myths]
It doesn't help that the others keep enforcing this idea by calling him a trickster and oath-breaker, because if they don't hold him to a higher standart, why should he himself? Even the blood-brother Loki once looked up to has decided that he should never be seen as redeemable.
[Yet only a fool trusts Loki - Loki to Baldr after Baldr asks for mentorship in AC Forgotten Myths]
In the comics, it seems that Loki has weaponised his stereotype, and he warns Baldr a few times that he should be cautious around none other than himself. Either Loki has been verbally abused often enough to fully believe that he's the bad guy, or he uses it as a persona to hide his vunerability and hurt. Perhaps he was even trying to give Baldr a fighting chance of surving his own wrath?
Also, we must remember that Loki and Havi saw each other as real brothers. Havi called Loki his 'brother' or numerous occasions, but when angry, he'd call him 'Jotnar' or derogatory terms. Even Loki and Baldr called each other nephew and uncle on multiple occasions. Loki grew up in a broken family, found a new family in the Aesir, and forged a family of his own with Sigyn and Aletheia, but all of his families were shattered and taken from him.
Tumblr media
[With such gifts would Loki find forgiveness. My brother always knew how to win hearts. To him, it was almost as easy as breaking them. - Havi]
Loki can be very charming if it gains him favour. He loves using bribes and offering gifts to appease the Aesir.
As is the case with some traumatic childhoods, Loki seems to understand love as transactional. Love needs to be earned by good deeds or gifts. And Havi's words seem to further reinforce the the notion of Loki only being valuable if he could offer contributions.
[Now Loki had the three gifts he needed to win redemption in Asgard. - Havi AC Dawn of Ragnarok]
Loki/Basim has a strong sense of justice, hence killing Baldr had been Loki's last resort. He had tried countless other methods first. Fenrir's imprisonment infuriated Loki, so he tried to reason with Havi. (Rightly so, Fenrir was a literal BABY who had done nothing wrong). Loki wanted to appeal to the council and courts for an overturned judgement, but Aletheia stopped him as she feared they'd kill him. Loki and Aletheia then polygraphed Havi before attempting to imprison him. When Juno freed Havi, it further foiled Loki's plans.
Loki informed Jupiter of what was happening, but even Jupiter failed to end the threat. It seems at this point that Loki really snapped and decided to do the job himself. He aimed to kill Havi before ever thinking of killing Baldr.
Tumblr media
[Oath-breaker? I did to you what you did to my son. This is only fair. Release him, Havi. Release Fenrir, or I swear I will kill you here and now - Loki AC Valhalla]
Now this is interesting because of the blood-oath. Loki was ready and willing to kill Havi, which would activate the blood-oath and kill him too. The blood-oath promised mutual assured destruction, which is essentially a murder-suicide on Loki's part. But he was willing to die of suicide if it meant Fenrir could be free. Havi spared Loki because Havi had no intention of dying.
Tumblr media
So Loki, who has become suicidal, sets off to stalk Baldr, and decides "Curse all! If I can never hold my son again, neither can Havi!"
[I have a tale for you. A tale of Loki, who claimed righteous vengeance upon Havi through his hapless son... - Loki imprisoned in AC Forgotten Myths]
Loki truly believes this is justified. He essentialy stabbed his only ally in the back, killing the last Aesir that had any trust or love towards him. It's interesting that Havi's own self-fulling prophesis brought this about, which Loki himself cautioned Havi against.
Loki is cunning, shifty, self-serving, a liar, but he is also diplomatic, patient, helpful and has a strong sense of justice. Circumstances have pushed him to this point. If Basim is Loki, we know that he is capable of good, and longed to do well (this depends on whether Basim was Loki or serves only as a vessel to him).
Loki only ever wanted to be a good father. He wanted to be the father he never had. When Loki lost Fenrir, he probably hated himself, because in his mind, he was now just as bad as his own father. He was willing to endure his two worst fears - death and lonliness - to free Fenrir. Not to mention Loki's cell being a claustrophobic coffin, completely alone (his biggest fear), only taken out off his coffin prison to be physically tortured. It's no suprise he experiences CPTSD/PTSD from his childhood, his imprisonment and the imprisonment of his son.
PS: Some people say Loki was evil in the Edda's? I read over them, and Loki was never malicious or evil (except when he killed Baldr and bragged about it). He was a troublemaker and caused chaos, but never for malicious or evil reasons. Loki was never jealous or plotting. He was more of a prankster. In fact, the Aesir were unreasonably cruel to him, constantly threatening him with death or bodily harm. Loki only caused the Aesir trouble for two reasons; he was A) Bored or B) Hungry/hangry. (Do not touch his food. He will fight you).

Jotun Loki Headcanon Time!
*I’ve seen this touched on in several fics, but never fully written out.
I think the reason jotuns are able to survive in freezing climates is that they’ve evolved to leech heat from the atmosphere around them. So, they’re essentially like big cold sponges just sucking up warmth wherever they go and using it to warm their core organs.
This is why they’re so sensitive to hot temperatures and are very susceptible to overheating. It is a very efficient biological system, though, because most jotuns almost never leave their ice planet, and when they do, it’s only very briefly. Loki, on the other hand, is a special case. He was raised in a very warm realm, and when he was young I think this probably caused him a TON of problems. Like constant heat strokes, his parents having to cast temporary spells to keep him cool, etc etc.
But gradually, as he started to grow from a toddler to a child, those problems stopped. This is because, as he began to be able to control his magic, his body subconsciously started to adapt to the climate it was in by beginning to convert that thermal energy into magical energy. This just served to make his powers stronger.
Now, Loki obviously softened on his frost giant heritage somewhere between the end of Thor 1 and Ragnarok. After he knew he was jotun and had time to sit and think about it, he would’ve realised about this whole heat/magic conversion situation. And I think that is what broke him out of his cycle of internalised racism.
Figuring out that his jotun-ness- this thing he’d hated and demonised and was ashamed of- was actually a big reason why his magic- the thing he loved most about himself- was so strong in the first place, was the catalyst for him coming to accept his heritage and realise that maybe the Asgardian prejudice against frost giants was incorrect.

Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Summary: This is basically an AU story about Loki, prince of Jotunheim, and the reader, princess of Asgard, meeting in the Utgardhall's library.
Odin finally reveals the real reason for bringing you to Jotunheim.
Words: 1125
Tumblr media
Neither Loki nor you noticed time pass until one of the palace servants came to inform both of you that dinner was being served. Despite being tall and as fearsome as a frost giant could be, you couldn't help but secretly smile at how shy the servant was when she guided you to the smaller dining room.
“The prince and the princess are here, my King”, she announced, bowing respectfully before she left, closing the door behind her.
“Princess, I see you found my son”, Laufey spoke gently, his hand motioning you to sit down at the table, “I hope he hasn't caused you too much trouble, he can be a little...”, he paused for a moment while a fond smile spread across his face, “mischievous.”
“Father”, Loki mumbled, rolling his eyes, sitting down.
You were about to answer but Odin and cut you off before even a sound could leave your lips.
“I could ask your son the same, given how my daughter behaves some times at home.”
“I can assure you, Allfather, that your daughter has been most kind to me”, Loki replied, his gaze darting to you, the corners of his mouth forming a content smile as he raised his glass to you, “we enjoyed our time at the library as I recounted the legends of our kind while she illustrated them most beautifully using her seidr.”
Loki chuckled quietly as he drank his wine, noticing your cheeks turning red. He barely knew you but there has been this unspoken connection between the two of you, he felt calm around you and, contrary to him being around his fellow Jotun, he didn't feel the urge to hide his true self as you didn't even seem to care that he wasn't Aesir, you simply treated him equally, without wasting a thought on the fact that Jotun could be different in any way.
“Ah yes, seidr”, Laufey spoke, interrupting Loki's trail of thoughts and bringing his mind back to the conversation, “you might not know but my son is rather gifted as well, but as you can imagine”, the king turned towards you, “no one in Jotunheim would be nearly as perfect to teach him properly.”
“As whom”, both you and Loki queried at the same time, your brows furrowing as you were both apprehensive of the answer you'd get.
“King Laufey and I decided that you will stay here and teach the prince how to properly wield his powers”, Odin proclaimed, “at least during few weeks of summer in Jotunheim”, he quickly added while he spotted a hint of fear in your eyes.
This revelation rendered you speechless as you continued to stare at your father in shock. Whereas you didn't object to the idea of spending more time with Loki, you couldn't help but wonder he didn't deem it important enough to notify you about this before you accompanied him here. Your stomach twisted a sudden rush of anger and anxiety, the discomfort of it rendering you nauseous.
“Does mother know about this?”, you almost whispered solely to earn a hearty chuckle from Odin.
“Do you really think I would dare to take such decision without your dear mother's consent?”, he winked and gave you a genuine smile which, despite your anger, you returned.
Loki poked at his food, his crimson eyes glued to the piece of potato he kept pushing around on his plate as he carefully listened to the conversation. He couldn't help but to feel a slight sting in his heart at your polite attempt of protest. He knew the feeling of not belonging into this frozen realm despite being born here so he could definitely to your demur but the prospect of having you here felt like a faint beam of light piercing the gloomy mist of his loneliness. He'd not only have someone to keep him company but that someone would also be you, the kind princess who already brightened his usually dull afternoon. He felt reassured at the thought of spending the rest of the summer with you. He envisioned it to be like one of his silly dreams finally coming true, having somebody to spend time with without the constant necessity to keep up this exhausting facade of the coarse battle hungry warrior that was usually required when his friends took him to the tavern. Unfortunately, amidst the blooming hope in his chest, he was well aware how you might feel about all this. You might have enjoyed the afternoon with him but you most certainly weren't prepared to be left here for the coming month and without glimpsing up, he could almost sense your anxiety radiating from across the table.
Loki got up in a swift and sudden movement, the noise of the big wooden chair legs dragging on the rough stone floor and the clinking sound of his fork falling down on the plate, pulled everyone's immediate attention to him. He leaned forward, his tall Jotun frame towering almost menacingly over his half of the table. His ruby eyes gazed gently at you, his stare slowly piercing the depths of your soul as his right hand moved towards you and with a snip of his fingers, pale blue mist appeared, forming an icy flower, floating in your direction. As you curiously wrapped your fingers around it, your mouth formed a quiet oh, astonished at the realisation that the ice flower didn't feel cold and you held it up towards the light of the chandelier, admiring it's beauty.
“My princess”, Loki spoke in a soft voice, “I know how frightening the prospect of being all alone here might be but rest assured that I will try my best to make you feel at home and I promise to be a good pupil.”
You looked up at him, with a curious and almost mischievous glint in your eye. Despite your fear, you couldn't help but admire Loki's eagerness to make you feel welcome. The anxiety made you hesitant but it couldn't push away the pull you felt towards the handsome prince, a connection you never experienced with anyone else. Your fingers let go of the ice flower, an emerald mist enwrapping and transforming it into a real flower and with a gentle push of your hand, it glided towards Loki. As soon as his fingertips grazed the bud, it bloomed into a delicate pale blue flower. The flower then dissolved into countless small golden particles, disappearing into the air. It was your silent promise to accept his offer. Despite not knowing what your time in Jotunheim would hold, you were grateful that you would be spending it with someone you felt a strong connection to.

Jotun Physiology Headcanon (with respect to one Loki Laufeyson)
A/N: I FORGOT I STARTED WRITING THIS. I created the draft on October 16, 2020 :,) I think the last time I edited it before this week was like 2022.
A bit different than what's been on this blog so far, but I've had this concept for years and figured I'd put it out there in my own way. :)
MINORS DNI
Regardless of how “bestial” they are or not (the Asgardians are not exactly reliable narrators), the Jotuns are creatures of the cold; this much is clear. Therefore, one might assume that physical activities that generate too much heat would be less than ideal, especially ones that require skin-to-skin contact, even if they want to engage in it. So, for the continuation of their species, biology might have given them a further incentive: aphrodisiac sexual fluids. Ingesting it (both male and female fluids) is the most immediate way to gain any effects, although the chemicals that create the aphrodisiac portion can also be absorbed through the various membranes during sex (male-giving), although the results aren't as pronounced as swallowing the fluids.
So. Back to Loki. :)
Similar to how he is unable to cause frostbite and other Jotun things in his Asgardian illusion, the effects are less pronounced when Loki appears Asgardian. That isn’t to say it doesn’t work, because it definitely does, but not to the same extent as when he is visually a Frost Giant; in general, the effects double (at a minimum) in his true natural state. Asgardians are not affected much: they just get essentially a buzz, a little push; they may grow warm, a little extra arousal, but nothing major. Humans, being far removed from the conditions of the rest of the Nine Realms (magic and other various things that I have no knowledge of), are far more susceptible to its effects: even a fraction of fluid is enough to start something—a heat in the loins, quickening of the heart, an increased desire...and a full “dose”? Burning need, stronger than the most turned on a person has ever been, enough to take over their thoughts entirely, if it's allowed to get that far. And such an all-consuming desire can only be fulfilled in one way: engaging in sex with the one who caused this altered state. And, even then, it's a bit of a cyclical thing, because the more fluids enter the body, the longer the effects last...but if one does not fuck, then one will be incapacitated for at least a day or few, if not more, depending on how much has been consumed. And this is just the baseline from his Asgardian default; from his Jotun form, expect to become delirious with a need that nothing on Earth could even hope to instill in a person, enough to feel like one will go mad.
Side note: There is no such thing as "a little bit of cum" for male Frost Giants. Naturally, they're typically, well, giants, so it's proportional (mostly). This means that Loki produces an...excessive amount when compared to an Asgardian or a human, regardless of which form he takes. Not typically enough to overflow as an Asgardian, it's a bit more within believability then. As a Jotun, prepare to have him leaking down your thighs. Y'know, if your mind isn't leaking out of your head from wanting him so badly. :)
Did I write this whole thing just to excuse the fact that I wanted Loki to have aphrodisiac cum to write a couple particular scenes that may or may not ever be posted? Yes, yes I did.

Boreas is a powerful elemental spirit of wind and ice who dwells in the northernmost reaches of the world. With no physical body of his own, he manifests an avatar to rule his land and spread his edicts. Wild and gaunt, his hair and beard long and crusted in ice, with eyes so blue they seem to glow, he is temperamental and destructive without restraint.
Also known by his subjects as the Devourer, he is served by frost giants, elemental spirits, and fey beings of the cold. He consorts with the lords of the giants to plot the downfall of smaller mortals, and courts powerful beings of cold and ice to be his wife, including the queen of the frost giants and the faerie queen of witches. His plans and courtships are often interrupted by intense bouts of fury however, as his own daughter seeks to sabotage his goals by encouraging mortal heroes to provoke his rage by stealing treasure or rustle his winter wolves. This rage often leads to the deaths of the provokers, but to his daughter's eyes that is better than the much wider scale destruction that would occur if her father wasn't distracted.
Pathfinder
Boreas rules over a portion of the Crown of the World, his followers occasionally descending to the south to harass the lands to the south of him. Northern Avistan and Tian Xia have dealt with the Devourer's rages before, though rarely does descend too deeply before the comparatively warm weather saps his anger and he returns to his frozen home to brood off the rest of his fury.
13th Age
While Boreas' realm sits well beyond the boundaries of the Dragon Empire, this distant being is an Icon of far off lands, and his influence may occasionally extend into the empire during his rages. Heroes seeking to travel far to the north may find an entire new collection of Icons to contend with, their connections to the icons of the empire having less sway and influence.

Thor: Part Six

x
Right behind the creature are armies of Jotuns ready to kill the Asgardians. You have no confidence that you'll come out of this alive, so you literally don't know what to do. You have the ability to fly away and separate yourself from the danger, but you're not the kind of person to leave your teammates behind despite not knowing them for very long. Right before they reach you, you hear a deafening road right above you. The sky opens up, letting the Bifrost blast down to right behind you. When the rainbow bridge is gone, Odin is there on a horse with Gungnir in his hands.
"Father! We'll finish them together!" Thor says with a bright smile.
"Silence!"
His voice booms as he strikes Grungnir on the ground, causing the Frost Giants to cower backward in fear. Laufey uses his powers to get to Odin's level to talk to him while your team is left on the ground below. Both Laufey and Odin look unsure of what is about to happen next, and the blue creature sizes up Odin. He can tell Odin is not the foe he once was--he's matured. Something that Thor still needs to learn.
"Allfather, you look weary," Laufey says calmly.
"Laufey. End this now."
"Your boy sought this out."
"You're right. These are the actions of a boy. Treat them as such. You and I can end this here and now before there's further bloodshed."
"We are beyond diplomacy now, Allfather. He'll get what he came for--war and death."
"So be it."
Without warning, Laufey swings an ice blade at Odin, but the Asgardian King is quicker. Odin brings down Gungnir to the ice below him. Laufey and the rest of the Frost Giants are blown back by the wave of energy radiating from the spear. The other Frost Giants turn tail and run knowing that they won't beat Odin. Thor watches them flee with delight shining in his eyes. You should have never come here in the first place.
Odin raises Grungnir and the Bifrost opens at his command. Every single Asgardian, including you, gets transported off the icy planet and back to the golden one. As soon as everyone is in the Observatory, the Bifrost closes. The air is thick with tension as Odin determines how to punish his son for what he did. Odin looks scary enough as it is, but he's beyond pissed which only puts you more on edge. You back up in fear, almost knocking into Loki.
You don't know what he'll do to you since you're already on his bad side.
"Why did you bring us back?" Thor demands.
"Do you realize what you've done? What you started?"
"I was protecting my home!"
"You cannot protect your friends. How can you hope to protect a kingdom?" Odin turns to the other warriors who fought alongside you. "Get him to the healing room!"
Sif, Volstagg, and Hogun help Fandral out of the Observatory since he got injured in battle.
"There won't be a kingdom to protect if you're afraid to act!" Thor says once you're alone. Odin stares at him as if he can't believe his own son would talk to him this way. "Whatever the cost, the world must know that the new King of Asgard will not be held in contempt."
"That's pride and vanity that talks! Not leadership! Have you forgotten everything I've taught you?"
"While you wait and be patient, the Nine Realms laugh at us! The old ways are done. You'd stand giving speeches while Asgard falls!"
"You're a vain, greedy, cruel boy!" Odin yells.
"And you are an old man and a fool!"
The whole world seems to stop at Thor's words. Odin falls quiet as he thinks about what to do next. You and Loki stand off to the side in complete silence, too scared to speak for very different reasons.
"A fool, yes," Odin says with a certain calmness that makes you uneasy. "I was a fool to think you were ready."
"Father--"
Odin turns to his younger son and gives him a look that stops Loki in his tracks.
"Thor Odinson, you have betrayed the express command of your King. Through your arrogance and stupidity, you have opened these peaceful Realms and innocent lives to the horrors of war."
The Allfather plunges Grungnir into the Observatory's control panel, the same control panel that Heimdall used when you first got here. As soon as he turns it, the Bifrost opens to a place you don't know of yet. This could be your chance to get the hell out of here. You're not sure where the other end of the portal leads, but you can always figure out the details later.
"You are unworthy of this Realm, unworthy of your title, and unworthy of the loved ones you've betrayed. I hereby take from you your powers." As Odin is talking, he uses his powers to remove the armor from Thor's clothing, stripping him bare. He reaches out for the hammer, and it slams into his hand as if he owned it. "In the name of my father and of his father before, I cast you out!"
Lightning stems from Mjolnir and onto Thor, casting away the rest of his body armor. Odin thrusts Mjolnir before him, and with a crack of thunder, Thor is hurled backward into the open Bifrost. This is your chance to escape. You spring forward and rush to the Bifrost before it has a chance to close. Odin sees you running toward the open portal, and he's more than happy to get you out of his home. You jump through the portal in hopes that you're put back home.
Anywhere is better than Asgard.
Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.
The blinding lights of the rainbow bridge keep you from seeing where you're landing. You slam into the soft soil below with a loud noise, skidding a couple of yards away from the crash site. You groan and cough, your eyes fluttering open from pain. The first thing you see is an ugly van with a bunch of scientific shit on it. The next thing you see are two women and a man bending over Thor to see if he is okay.
You groan in pain as you sit up, realizing your injuries are worse than you thought. Your arm is broken, there are cuts all over your face (you can feel them stinging), and your legs are all cut up. You'll heal in time, so you don't worry about them too much. Thor isn't moving on the ground, so you have to get to him before something bad happens. Your vision is still a little blurry, so you're not quite sure what planet you're on just yet. Plenty of planets have cars and human-like figures.
"I think that was legally your fault," the darker-haired woman says.
"Get the first aid kit," the light-haired woman orders.
"We have another one over here!" the man says loudly to the two women.
"Thor!" you say with a strained voice. You pull yourself to your feet and hobble over to the ex-God. "Move!" You practically shove the brunette out of the way to inspect your friend. "Thor, wake up."
"Lady, your arm is broken. Are you okay?" the man asks.
You ignore him for the time being and slap Thor's cheek as hard as you can. Thor's eyes open wide as he lets out a startled gasp. You sigh in relief that your new friend isn't dead yet.
"Where are we?"
"Excuse me?"
"The planet. Where are we?"
"Earth."
"Son of a bitch," you curse and turn to Thor. "Come on, let me help you stand up."
Using you as a strong support system, Thor struggles to his feet. Your arm is still broken, so you have to use your good side to hold your enormous friend up. This isn't the first time you've been tossed around like this, and in fact, this isn't the worst kind of pain you have felt. Your arm may be broken, you may have scratches and cuts all over your body, and you may feel sore, but Markus has done worse to you which is why you're not taking it as hard as Thor is. Odin has stripped him of his power, so he is just a man now. You've been with these powers even with the torture you endured.
"Wow. Does he need CPR? Because I know CPR. Where did they come from?" the dark-haired woman asks.
"Are you two okay?"
"Hammer," Thor mutters, still out of it.
"Yeah, we can tell you're hammered. That's pretty obvious."
"No, did you see a hammer fall from the sky?" you ask
"Are you two on something? Weed? Crack? Heroin?"
"Erik... look at this."
The light-haired woman stares at the mark left by the Bifrost. The man named Erik joins her side to marvel at the phenomenon that they've never seen before. Amazed and excited, the woman hurriedly takes out a camera and snaps some photos of the runes. A breeze begins to blow them away.
"Darcy, grab a camera. We've gotta move fast before anything changes."
The dark-haired woman must be Darcy. Thor looks up at the sky, his vision still blurry from the fall.
"Jane, we need to get them to a hospital," Erik says to the light-haired woman.
Good, you now know all of their names. Jane kneels and quickly scoops up a soil sample in a canister to examine later.
"Look at them, they're fine."
"Her arm is broken and he doesn't seem in his right mind," Erik whispers to her, but you hear.
"Father! Heimdall! I know you can hear me! Open the bridge!" Thor yells to the sky, startling the trio. When he doesn't receive an answer, he turns to the trio with angry eyes, startling them. "Where am I?! Answer me!"
Darcy reaches into her fanny pack and removes something, but the lights on the car are too bright for you to see what it is.
"What Realm?! Alfheim? Nornheim?"
"Thor," you hiss quietly.
"Uh... New Mexico?"
Darcy raises the object in her hand at Thor, silently threatening him that she will use whatever it is on him. You shift to the right and see that it's a taser gun.
"You dare threaten Thor with so puny a--"
Darcy fires at him before you can stop her, the electrified wires shooting out of the taser. Thor convulses and falls to the ground, unconscious.
"What the fuck did you do?" you exclaim and rush over to Thor.
"What? He was freaking me out," Darcy shrugs.
"Next time, don't fucking taser him," you sigh.
With your alien strength, you heave Thor to his feet. He leans limp on your body as you drag him to the car. You don't know who these people are or what their intentions are, but they are taking you and Thor to the hospital. Your broken arm fucking hurts whenever Thor leans on it, but you fight through the pain.
"Jane, come on," Erik says.
Reluctantly, Jane joins the rest of her friends inside the SUV. Erik gets behind the wheel, Darcy takes the passenger seat, and Jane joins you and Thor in the back. It's pitch-black outside, so the only source of light is from the moon and eventually the street lights. Jane hasn't stopped staring at you since you got into her truck.
"Can I help you?" you ask Jane.
"Your skin. Are you healing?"
Your wounds must be healing right in front of her eyes. Though, through the darkness, she could be mistaken. The scratches on your face close up, the wounds on your legs slowly heal, and your broken arm tries to mend itself back together.
"You must be mistaken. I'm fine."
Erik races to the hospital, the car in complete silence. You try to ignore Jane who keeps staring at you as if you're a fucking alien. Well, you are, but she doesn't know that. By the time you get to the hospital, all the cuts on your face are healed, most of them on your leg are gone, and your arm is about halfway through healing. You hop out of the van and hear a sickening crack in your arm, and you look down to see it completely healed. You stretch your arm to get the blood flowing again and turn to Thor only to see Jane staring at you.
"Would you quit staring at me? How would you like it if there were eyes on you at all times?" you snap.
"Sorry," she whispers.
"Go get a fucking nurse."
She scrambles out of the van and jogs inside with Darcy to get a nurse. They come out with two of them and a gurney. The nurses work together to put Thor on the gurney while you, Dary, Jane, and Erik head inside to the receptionist to check in.
"Name?"
"Thor."
You turn to see Thor being wheeled to the back by people in white clothing. You narrow your eyes at the orderlies before turning back to the receptionist.
"T-H-O-R. Your relationship with him?"
"I've never met him before," Jane says first.
"Until she hit him with the car," Darcy quips.
"Grazed him, actually. She tasered him."
"Yes, I did."
"He's my friend," you say.
"Fill out these forms please."
The receptionist hands you a bunch of forms to fill out, and instead of making a scene, you take them and grab a pen. You're about to take a seat when Jane stops you.
"What are you?"
"Excuse me?"
"You had cuts all over your face and legs, and now they're all healed."
"You must be seeing things. I'm fine."
"I know what I saw."
You have to give her credit where it's due. She is persistent, but that can be dangerous to certain people.
"Thank you for bringing us here, but I can take it from here."
"Jane, come on. We need to go," Erik says.
Jane has no choice but to listen to her friend. She, Erik, and Darcy start to leave the hospital when Jane looks back at you. You have forgotten the clipboard with the paperwork on one of the chairs, and you're heading back to see if you can't find Thor and get him the hell out of here. Jane turns around and watches you walk away. She notices your leg and her eyes widen at what she sees.
The gash that's on the back of your leg is mending right before her eyes. You don't realize the pants you're wearing are torn in the back. Your wound stitches back together as if it was never there in the first place.

soulmate au where asgardian prince thor and frost giant prince loki have the same marking on each other’s skin.
“It’s destiny”
Destiny?! Loki scoffed to himself. How could it be destiny to be marked just as the asgardian prince was?
How could they be meant for each other? Loki was a jotun. He could NOT be with an asgardian!
Asgardians were barbaric… while jotuns were reasonable.
Marry a jotun? Why? Why would the Norns do that to him?! He was supposed to be the next King of Asgard and now he finds out his soulmate is a jotun?!
Both asgardians and jotuns would never accept such a relationship. Especially not the idea of their Queen being jotun and King being asgardian. This was complete insanity!
What they didn’t know was that they were meant to be. Two lives, one soul, one people and finally bring prosperity to both realms.

Loki x Sigyn HCs ( my MCU fanfics )
. So, we all know that Loki and Sigyn are friends since childhood
. Loki started to gradually develop a crush on Sigyn as they both went into their teen years, when Sigyn is growing from a pretty and curious little girl to a blossoming and courageous teenager
. Their relationship kinda reminds me of Beauty and the Beast and Hiccistrid in some ways btw
. Sigyn doesn't give a flying fuck about Loki's Jotun heritage. However, she found herself having to learn to get over the internalised stigma she learned against other Frost Giants ( rhe Asgardians, Light Elves, Vanaheimrs and Dwarves distrust Frost Giants )
. It was partially thanks to Sigyn that Loki gradually accepts his Jotun heritage and recovers from his period of self loathing ever since he found out his Jotun heritage
. Like other Valkyries and valkyrior veterans, Sigyn regularly wore her hair in braided hairstyles. Braids are signs of power and victory in Ancient Nordic Socieities
. While Loki has got raven hair, ivory skin and ice blue eyes, Sigyn got warm skin, curly auburn nut brown hair, turquoise eyes and an athletic and curvy body
. Sigyn likes baking and she sometimes has baking hangouts with her Nine Realms friends
. She is good friends with Hnossa, Gersemi, Hildegund ( Volstagg's wife ), Anneli/Grace ( Heimdall's wife ) and Sif
. Even after all Loki has done in thor 1 and Avengers 1, Sigyn can't help but still love him and is tremendously relieved when Odin and Frigga can't bear to kill him.
. She isn't above calling out his crap tho, but she tries her best to help him get back on a right track as they mend the seams of their relationship
. Sigyn is an anchor of constancy to Loki's unpredictability and chaos
. After the Massacre of Valkyrie, Sigyn began to wear aurora borealis inspired hair highlights at times to commemorate her mother and those who died in the Massacre of Valkyrie
. Sigyn is more like her mother personality wise btw.
. Her dad is a tall blonde pureblood elf with turquoise eyes ( think kinda like Legolas ) while her mother got dark auburn hair, warm skin and bright brown eyes.
. When she was a kid, Sigyn is kinda insecure of her pointy ears. Loki is one of those who helped her get through her insecurities over her ears
. Loki likes to visit Sigyn's villa in Asgard when he was Loki/Odin. It is a place of solace for both of them when they wanted a break from court dramas and political melodramas and such
. Sigyn loves Yuletide. She loves to help around with the decorating and baking. Loki is alright with Yuletide but tends to enjoy them more whenever Sigyn is around. Bless.
. Loki is great at skating and likes to skate with his Nine Realms cohorts in winter
