WHY DID KRUEGER AND NAK DISLIKE EACH OTHER?

Hi Scare! I did touch on that Veeeery briefly in the past but never got around to actually explaining it- so thank you for the Ask!!

So, before Nak officially met Krueger, she’s heard some things about him from other operators beforehand (Maybe about the shit he’s said or his past being too trigger happy during his time in the KSK, etc.) and being the judgmental person she is thought “Man, what a fucking asshole.”

Krueger before meeting her, heard of Nak as well; some brat with issues Nikolai scraped off the streets of Urzikstan that apparently knew more than enough to join the company. Krueger isn’t judgmental, however he likes poking at and getting a rise out of new people.

Because of this, Krueger upon meeting her, poked fun at her relentlessly for a few days, just to see what she was like- Not really meaning actual harm, more like to relieve boredom.

Since Nak inherited her uncle’s short temper (+ no healthy outlets at the time to deal with anger) fell into the same old habits that got her dishonorably discharged from the LPAF; she swung at him, square in his face. Krueger, understandably, defended himself and swung back.

This went on for the first month of Nak joining Chimera, once a week. Nak disliked how he just seemed to always have something to say to her. Krueger didn't like having to sit beside her in Nikolai's office and argue with her on whos fault it is their faces are beat up this time. You bet Nikolai was getting sick of it.

- Storming into his office, shrieking, "Nikolai! I don't want to work with that bastard anymore!"

- Startled a bit "Jesus fucking- "

- "I can't stand him! I can't stand him! I hate him! I want to wipe that- that- shit eating grin off his Face! I-"

- stern, "Get used to him or we remove you from this company."

- "..What?"

- "I don't know what it's like back in Laos, but here? We act like professionals."

Krueger got a talking to as well.

- "I was defending myself. Thing can kick. "

And so the physical fights stopped, and it was more like they bickered and talked shit to each others faces until they kind of.. just ran out of stuff to complain about each other??? By that time Nak was getting better at controlling her emotions, mellowing down outside of combat and eventually found Krueger's antics fun.

Okay so I didn’t actually do that much formal research for it, because anytime i try to do that i feel my creativity and livelyness is sapped out of me (probably one of the reasons i hate school lmao) anyways

It’s actually a really funny (and long) story how this au came to be, so at first i saw the party clone of MK in lego monkie kid (this won’t make much sense if you haven’t watched that show sorry, but also at the same time if you haven’t YOU REALLY SHOUDL ITS REALLY GOOD AND THE ANIMATION MAKES ME DROOL NGL) and i was like yo wouldn’t it be cool if Lloyd had an evil party clone too? and then it expanded to an RGB evil clone au (cuz i’m a sucker for RGB siblings haha) and then i got the idea for nya to be a racer and to have a cyborg gf (cough cough pixal) and i was like okay scrap all the clone stuff were making this a completely independent au because this is MUCH cooler. and yeah, idk where the whole cyberpunk thing came from, i just thought it would really fit into the themes of fighting rings, clubs and races :DD

After that i was a bit busy for a while with school (just like i am now :c) but the brain rot for this AU was still going strong, so I made a pinterest board where i saved just a fuck load of cyberpunk shit that i thought looked cool, and whenever i had time i’d use those to draw the designs! here are some sketches with their references :D (zane and harumi included since they were ur favs! ps zane is my fav too, he just gives off such manager vibes but, hot, HAHA)

(ignore the lines, procreate just fucks up stuff if you change the canvas size and you try to access prior versions of the drawing through the timelapse option lmao)

anyways as you can see not even all of the references are cyberpunk stuff

AND YEAH I USED UR LLOYD AS INSPIRATION, I REALLY LIKE UR ARTSTYLE OKAY MOVING ON

some of the stuff was different and changed a lot through the process, like for example i decided against harumi having the furs because she would never wear them in this AU, she needs practicality in her fighting matches haha. I also changed a lot of lloyd design, cuz i was like “hehe, heelies” cuz zoom zoom, yk? and then u have zane, which was really straightforward coz i had almost exactly how i wanted him to be set in stone in my mind xd

OKAY SO. Attempt 2 at writing this ask. it starts when marcia and her mother get into a massive argument right outside the wizard tower. Bc the tower is open for visitors For Free, Right Now and marcia really really really wants to go. And her mother really does not want to take her. And there is yelling and waving of arms and marcias mother starts shit talking all wizards and says that if marcia decides that's what she wants to do then she won't be her daughter anymore. And marcia says well maybe that's a good thing!!!!! And immediately regrets it bc she Does love her mother very much. And I don't typically hc marcias mother as like. Particularly physically abusive but just this once she is very very angry and (shitty parent voice) sometimes u just need to hit a child >:( it's just like. Once or twice but yeah so she goes a little insane and there's a decent sized crowd now and she's yelling abt how all wizards r terrible and don't you dare even think abt being one if I ever see u use magyk again ill kick you out. And various ppl at this point have tried and failed to calm her down. And tiny marcia is like. On the floor crying. Surrounded by strangers who keep trying to hug her when she doesn't want them to. And they r right in front of the wizard tower still. And that is when the ExtraOrdinary Wizard shows up to go hey what the fuck is going on here. And he has a couple of ordinary wizards toss marcias mother in the nearest lock-up (those r a thing right?? Like the random tiny jails?? Dn1 looks like one from the outside I think) and sits down on the ground with marcia to wait until she's calmed down a bit and he puts his cloak on her bc she's shaking. And she actually calms down very quickly bc a) this is still marcia and she is well known to ignore her own issues when there's other stuff going on and b) the ExtraOrdinary Wizard!!! Holy shit :D!!!!!!! And anyway alther sees that she is very very excited to see him and (well aware she is Probably not going to ever see her mother again) decides to at least give her 1 good thing to remember abt today and brings her to the eow rooms for tea and biscuits :) and that's not where this ends but this is so so long already ajdufnifnffn I'll carry on in another ask later maybe once you've answered this.

Also relevant but not necessarily smth I was going to mention. I hc that the castle has REALLY strict laws surrounding child abuse. Unfortunately marcia has no friends and her teachers don't like her and she just wasn't there for any of the lessons on here's the things u should tell a teacher abt if they happen to u. So she just kind of got very unlucky and no one notices that her mother fucking sucks. AND ALSO I think it's illegal in the castle to try through any means to get a child to stop using magyk altogether. Bc especially in kids, it can lead to major magykal outbursts which r dangerous for the person and for everyone+everything around them. So even if marcias mother had not hit her she would still have been arrested bc of this

You could remember the feeling, how it started that night at the bar. Despite the conversations of your new team swirling around you, you felt like a stranger. You didn’t think much of it at first, you just thought you were imagining things. You’ll grow into it, you told yourself. 

After exactly a year at the BAU, you still couldn’t decisively say you were part of the family. As cases came and went, you felt the same. An outsider. A guest living with a family. You couldn’t blame them, really. As you should, right? They weren’t like this with any of the other newbies; it was you who intruded.

The last case felt no different. It was a family annihilator, and all you could think about were the victims. Unbeknownst to the team, except Aaron, you knew almost exactly what the family of the victims were going through. Your feelings were taking a toll on you, and everything from the jet ride to heading back to the office was a complete daze. Your mind was somewhere far off in the distance, only snapped back by the soft touch of JJ placing her hand on your shoulder before you could walk through the glass doors.

“Are you coming tonight?” She asked as if you already knew of what was happening tonight.

“Uh, w-what’s tonight?”

“We’re going to-”

“O’keefe’s!” Penelope squealed, running out of her batcave with the clicks of heels following.

“Oh, um-” you hesitated, but you remembered how badly you wanted to be a part of their family, and a drink didn’t sound too bad at the moment, “yeah! Yeah, I’ll just meet you guys there alright? M’gonna just grab some stuff.”

“We’ll see you down there!” Penelope bubbled, before sweeping everyone else into the elevator. You gave a small smile and wave, catching Spencer’s gaze  just as the doors shut. Maybe you had learned to hide it well after all these years, but for profilers, they really had no idea what was going on inside your head.

You couldn’t help but glance up at Aaron’s office through the glass doors. Everyday you debated if the BAU was really for you, every day for a year, now. Not knowing if this was a mistake or not, you slipped through the bullpen and made a beeline for his office. Relatively quickly, you found the papers you were looking for after a quick search through his cabinets. You didn’t want to have the conversation with Aaron, but he was the only person on this floor with them. You shoved them in your purse, just in case. In case of what? You didn’t know either.

You tried to enjoy yourself, you really did, but your head was just filled to the brim with thoughts you couldn’t bear. The fuzzy, stuffy feeling of the bar would usually help you blend right in, but right now it made you sick. You excused yourself from the table, not like you were part of any of the conversations that were happening anyways, and stepped out.

Through your work blouse and slacks, the October wind nipped at your skin. You opened your purse and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Your habit started young, smoking being one of the only things that could effectively calm you. Your dad was a smoker, but he really tried his best to stop. He wouldn’t be proud of you for following in his footsteps, but so be it.

Placing the cigarette between your lips and lifting your lighter to the end, you failed to notice someone approaching from behind you.

“6 minutes.” 

Startled, you fumbled and dropped your cigarette from your lips and it hit the concrete, causing you to loudly mutter a curse. You whipped around to cuss out whoever made you drop it, but you’re met with the same eyes you saw before the elevator closed.

“Jesus Christ, Spencer. I just lit that!” His expression doesn’t change, so you rummage through your purse pulling out the box of cigarettes once again. “And I know what that means, 6 minutes off my life for every cigarette I light.” Faced towards the street, you tried to light it, but failed. As the wind kept blowing out the tiny flame, you kept trying. “To be frank, 6 minutes isn’t a whole lot of time in the grand scheme of things. It’s like, one less shower. I could live with that I think.”

Still not hearing a reaction from him, you turn his way, naturally. He seems to be finding your purse very interesting, and for a moment you think, is pretty boy gonna rob me?, but you finally realize he can see the bold print title and FBI logo on the papers that you grabbed sticking out from your purse.

“Why?” is all he asked, his voice dripping in devastation. You look up to meet his eyes and there’s a gloss over them that you know too well. “Why would you wanna transfer? The BAU is-”

“-the crown jewel of the FBI. I’ve heard it.” You take the cigarette out of your mouth to reply. Unable to meet his eyes anymore,  you fixed your eyes on the street once again, but you minded your voice, careful to not let it crack nor reveal too much, “I can’t explain it, Spencer.”

“I think you can, but you don’t want to.” The hurt in his voice was still evident and you had to wonder, why was it there in the first place? He doesn’t really care, his family’s inside the bar.

You brought the joint back to your lips and tried to light it one last time, and you successfully did so, inhaling the smoke and letting it encase your lungs like a blanket. “It’s just-” A long pause lingers in the air before you come to your senses, removing the cigarette from your lips. Blowing out a cloud, the wind carried the gray smoke down the sidewalk, with your eyes trailing. “You know what? No, nevermind. It’s nothing, Spence. I might not even transfer.”

“You wouldn’t grab the papers unless you were seriously considering it, Y/N,” he huffed, intent on finding out the real reason, “Come on, you were gonna have to tell us at some point. Why not start small? Why are you leaving us?” You were getting frustrated from the simple fact that he was right, and suddenly you were very sick of the cigarette you were holding. 

“Fine Spencer, if you wanna know so goddamn bad then I’ll just tell you! I just- the BAU isn’t for me! And it’s not the job, it’s- it’s you! It’s all of you! I can’t be in the same room with all of you for anything other than a debriefing without feeling like I don’t fucking belong! You guys are a family, and I still feel like it’s my day one. If you guys can do this job so well without me, then why shouldn’t- why should I even be here?” You didn’t know when the tear slipped, but they just kept coming, and you were over this cigarette, throwing it to the ground and stomping on it a little too hard.

There was a silence. A cold, heavy silence, filled with nothing more than the gentle breeze, a couple cars passing in the distance and leaves falling. You suppressed your sobs as much as you could and wiped your face repeatedly. 

Oh god, you thought, did I really just say that? Fuck, fuck, shit, why am I like this-

“If I asked you to stay,” His voice was soft- you knew your response wasn’t the one he was expecting. All you could do was glance at him, not knowing where he was going with this. “Would you?”

“What’re you talking about?” The words were a whisper, you wouldn’t be surprised if he thought it was just the wind. You genuinely didn’t understand what he meant, but in your head, you had already answered his question.

“Y/N, I--I just wanna talk, okay? Can you listen? Is that alright?” His voice was comforting, and with the way you were feeling, it was music to your ears. It reminded you of the way he spoke to children, but you were just too damn exhausted to call him out on it; so you nodded, but you kept your eyes on the street in front of you, watching a taxi pass by.

“You know, when I first asked you ‘why?’ a few minutes ago, when I was saying that the BAU was the crown jewel of the FBI? Well, that wasn’t what I was going to say at all. I was gonna say that the BAU is where you belong, Y/N. We don’t only want you to stay, we need you to stay. You were the one who talked down that unsub today. You can defend yourself better than almost any of us. You treat us like family, with the coffee every Wednesday and checking on all of us regularly. We notice these things, Y/N. Do you? Because it’s almost like it’s second nature to you.”

You had to take several deep breaths before you could gather yourself enough to respond; you closed your eyes as you spoke. “Do you know why I so badly want to be so close to all of you? My- my parents were both killed by- by a sociopath. I was 15. I started smoking then. My aunt took me in and I lived with my cousins. They were closer to each other than to me, though. I- I don’t know, I had a family, I guess. I mean, my aunt and her two daughters were my family, but- I don’t know, I’m not making sense.”

“I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t know that at all, I thought they were your sisters. I get it. Well, I don’t, but I know what you’re trying to say. You didn’t have one as a teenager, but you have one now. Everyone inside of that bar thinks of you as their family. I know you don’t see it, but I can assure you that they do.”

You forgot your eyes were closed. They opened to the touch of Spencer’s hand on your arm, and there he was, standing in front of you. You wanted to cry more, but the sight of Spencer in front of you made you smile and your heart swell. You knew every word that left his mouth was genuine, full of love and understanding. You rushed forward and hugged him, burying your face in his chest. He wrapped his arms around you and cradled your head. It was almost funny, you were sure this was the most you had touched the germaphobe like, ever.

Into his sweater you sniffled and mumbled, “What about you Spencer?”

He pulled away from the hug, both of you still clinging to the other, but enough to have to look in each other’s eyes. He tilted his head as if he were asking what you meant.

“Do you- are we family?”

His only response was an airy chuckle and a swift, soft peck to your forehead. Huh, that’s new. You weren’t saying you didn’t like it though, no, not at all. He pulled you back into the hug and said into your hair “We don’t have to talk about that right now. But honestly? I think of you as something else, Y/N/N.”

And that was okay. The warmth of his breath on your hair and his sweater wrapping you neatly like a gift, it was more than okay.

Spencer led you back into the bar after you had fixed your makeup. Luckily, the wind actually helped to dry your tears pretty quickly. The team was gathered around the table, blocking something from your sight. As the two of you approached, you heard Penelope say “Oh, oh oh! They’re here! Y/N’s here!”

The rest of the team turns to you and in front of you, JJ is holding out a red velvet cupcake with a candle in it. “Happy one year!” The team cheered as a chorus. Your eyes widened and your face lit up. Your shock rendered you almost speechless.

“How’d you remember? Oh my gosh, you guys!” you smiled. With everyone egging you on, you blew the candle out, causing an array of cheers and claps.

“Honestly, some of us didn’t. But you know who did remember?” Morgan commented with a wink. You turned to see Spencer scratching his neck, smiling down at you, the look making your heart swell just a lil’ bit more. 

You grabbed his arm and pulled him over with you to the table, the team clearing a spot for the two of you. Conveniently, shots for everyone had already been poured out, readily awaiting your consumption. You grabbed the shot glass and raised it towards the middle of the table.

“To family,” you beamed. Maybe I was just imagining things.

haha holy SHIT this got Long. but yes. i’ve been. Thinking. (also literally Never feel like you have to apologize for sending me messages. i was Hoping someone would ask me about this. now i have an Excuse to share EVERYTHING ive written abt it :3)

Obviously, Roy is the leader/brains of the outfit. He grew up having some Strong Opinions abt what’s Legal versus what’s Right due to tragic backstory involving the death of his little brother which was definitely SOMEONE’S fault for negligence but since there technically wasn’t any illegal behavior, there were no consequences for it. Also he’s still angry at his dad bc he thinks his dad is also partly culpable (and also also just a dick). He’s the Moral Backbone of the team (alongside Durkon, more on that later) in basically the same way Nate was in og Leverage. He’s actually not the best at figuring out what people want (that’s Haley and, shockingly, occasionally Elan), but once he has that info, he is the absolute best at figuring out the ideal plan of attack to use in any given case.

Haley is still a thief. I mean she maps to Parker almost PERFECTLY. Her dad was a thief & a conman, her mom wasn’t but knew about it and mostly accepted it, but she died tragically in a mugging gone wrong or smth, which made Ian crank the paranoia WAY up and taught Haley to do the same in the name of “safety”. Let’s keep the “Ian is in Trouble and Haley needs money, Fast” which is why she signs on to the first job in the first place. She’s less acrobatic than Parker, tending towards finding (or making) weak spots in security, but she can still make a tumble check when she needs to.

Elan is the grifter who is somehow an Idiot but also not???? It baffles everyone. When he’s playing a part for a con, he’s FLAWLESS, but then the rest of the time he’s just. No Thoughts Head Empty. He probably gets lured in initially because he’s decided to try his hand at being part of a full team, rather than the two-man cons he’s been running that invariably end w his partner conning him as well and stealing half of his take. Also he likes the idea of being Crime Friends. He’s that tweet where it’s like, Roy: “after the heist is over, we split up and never communicate again” / Elan: [about to unveil his Crime Buddies Forever Friendship Quilt Puppets]: “never?”

Vaarsuvius is the hacker/gadget person. They have a Vaguely Snobby Yet Unidentifiable accent, dyed(?) purple hair (nobody has ever seen their roots) and nobody knows who they “really” are or where they came from, but they’re good at what they do so everyone just accepts the mystery. They probably got suckered into the team by their initial employer (who I’ll get to Eventually, lol) framing it as a challenge to their intellect, like, “oh, I see, you’re not smart enough to make this team work for you...” to which they were like Fucking Watch Me and also melted his computer. Anyways. They are joined (digitally) by their Intrepid Friend And Co-Conspirator (his words, not theirs), a fellow hacker known only as Blackwing, or, on certain forums, Blackwing_Bird. (In the first season, V only occasionally references him when saying they’re “calling in extra help” or smth for a particularly complex hack job. He starts showing up a little more in s2 and eventually by the start of s4 is a regular & established presence, but only appears as actions in a computer interface or output.) Elan is convinced he’s an AI, Belkar doesn’t think he actually exists, Haley pretends she doesn’t think he exists, and Durkon and Roy try not to think about it too hard, as long as B and V still get the job done.

Belkar is the hitter. He is on the team bc their initial employer got him out of jail for it. He doesn’t have a tragic backstory, he just likes doing violent crimes. As the series progresses, he grows some empathy & stuff, but really only for people who actually deserve it. Assholes still get decked. It’s all very touching. (Also he has dwarfism caused by achondroplasia. It doesn’t actually bother him and is useful in fights bc his opponents frequently have no fucking clue how to approach him, but he likes Pretending to take offense at stupid things just to see how far he can go with it.)

Aaaand last but not least, Durkon is the least involved member of the team. He’s actually a career criminal and Roy’s mentor, and wasn’t a member of the initial team that [redacted, I’ll tell you later, PROMISE] put together for a couple of reasons, the main one being that he’s Officially retired in order to spend more time with his family, which consists of his mom, his friend (not girlfriend) Hilgya, baby Kudzu, and a truly stunning number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roy frequently calls or visits him for advice and he Occasionally shows up to help out on local jobs, but generally he avoids doing crime if he can (as part of a deal with Hilgya, who is also a career criminal; basically, they’ve both cut back on the crime in order to provide a more stable home environment for Kudzu. But sometimes, you gotta do a little crime, and in those cases, Sigdi enjoys spending time w her grandson.)

NOW. THE BIG REVEAL YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Who got the team together in the first place?!

The answer: Lord Shojo (or whatever Normal Person Name you want to assign him). Now this is where it gets tricky: he had them do a thing that they thought was good, THEN they thought it was BAD, but then when they confronted him he revealed that it Appearing to be bad was actually a test of character and would they consider working as basically internal investigators for him? But then he had a heart attack, so, rip. But THEN it turned out that he’d left them a bunch of money anyway and they were all feeling kind of Inspired so they formed the Order of the Stick, LLC (which, no, i am not coming up with a new name, actually, because I just don’t care. someone else can come up w a justification for that name, tho, i’m sure it’s possible). Also Miko was there and was unhappy abt their actions, and also their general existence.

Moving on. Villains!

Redcloak is the Sterling replacement, because that DEEPLY amuses me.

Xykon is a season-long main villain, probably one that Redcloak finds himself working for but then “teams up with” (read: blackmails) the Order to bring him down bc even Redcloak finds Xykon distasteful. That’s season 3, let’s say.

Tarquin is another season villain, say season 2. Nale probably shows up pretty early in s1, actually, as another recurring antagonist like Sterling but uh. Less good at it. Anyways the s2 final 3 eps deal with them (accidentally) discovering that Tarquin runs some Evil Empire Company, then trying to outplay him and take him down. Idk if Nale still dies in this version tbh.

Tsukiko is a one-off s1 villain who returns briefly in s4 alongside Miko, who has gone well and truly off the rails.

Season 1 finale has to do w Roy finally getting Vengeance for his little brother.

The vampire squad is the s4 finale villain who do smth terrible to Durkon and then get the Mother Of All Revenge served up to them by the Order.

I envision the show as being 5 seasons (like og Leverage) but I’m not going to sketch out s5 because I think it should be based off whatever happens in the current story arc, possibly involving some legacy of the OotSquiggle.

Other stuff!

The Order of the Squiggle is a legendary criminal team from the 60s who stole a BUNCH of famous shit & then proceeded to legendarily implode. This has no bearing on the plot I’ve sketched out, I just think it’s fun.

The Sapphire Guard members should probably be reworked as FBI. I don’t care about most of them but I do think that Lien and O-Chul could be like, FBI agents who Choose to look the other way while the Order does their very-much-not-legal-but-still-fair Justice Crime, and maybe even help them out on occasion.

So, the Final season-by-season outline, based on everything I’ve written so far:

s1 e1: getting the team together, doing a con for Shojo, then at the end he dies and the gang is like “dang what now?" and intend to split up except then they Don’t.

mid-s1: Nale shows up and tries to trick the Order, but then gets beat like a drum.

late s1: Tsukiko is an underling of the Villain Of The Week, winds up in police custody. But She’ll Be Back.

s1 finale: Roy’s Vengeance: The Vengeaning. also we meet Redcloak as an antagonist.

s2 e1: the truth abt Haley’s father comes out

early s2: The Two Live Crews Job but it’s the Order vs the Linear Guild and the Linear Guild ARE all bad guys.

mid-s2: Redcloak returns. ugh.

late s2: the sapphire guard FBI makes its first appearance, hello O-Chul and Lien.

s2 pre-finale: once again they’re in conflict w Nale over smth, he spends the whole episodes making Cryptic Remarks, they basically beat him (like a drum!) but then the stinger at the end is that Tarquin reveals himself and Elan is like “Dad?!”, roll credits.

s2 finale, part 1: Elan is hanging out w Tarquin bc he’s DEEP in Denial, the Rest of the team tries to take Tarquin down, but it doesn’t work.

s2 finale, part 2: Elan finally gets a clue and they manage to beat Tarquin. still haven’t decided if Nale dies or not, but I’m leaning towards yes. also they rescue Haley’s dad.

s3 e1: fuck dude idk.

early s3: Redcloak shows up, AGAIN, everyone groans. he has blackmail on them, he wants them to take Xykon down.

mid s3: The Rashomon Job but it’s about stealing the Talisman of Dorukan and it turns out that Nale was there too (“oh!” Elan says. “I was wondering why I looked so weird in all those mirrors! But it wasn’t my reflection, it was Nale’s!” “Sweetie, that wasn’t Nale’s reflection,” says Haley. “Huh,” says Elan, “so the mirrors were broken?”, cue eye rolling from everyone else.), and the Successful thief was Hilgya, who’d nabbed it from the owner before it even went on display.

s3 finale: they beat Xykon, actually factually, because he deserves to get his ass Thoroughly kicked, even if only in AU form. Lien and O-Chul are there, so are some other less helpful FBI people. There’s a bit where O-Chul Exact Wordses his way out of telling his superiors about the Order’s less legal activities without technically lying. King shit.

s4 e1: doesn’t really matter. maybe smth to do w some legacy of Tarquin’s company to set up the drama w Malack & Durkon later.

early s4: Durkon gets SENT TO PRISON. Malack approaches the Order abt this because sure they have Different Ethics but they’re still Friends. (Roy is surprised and a little hurt that he’s never heard of Malack, but he ignores that in favor of Let’s Get Whatever Fuckers Did This To Our Friend.)

immediately after that: Miko and Tsukiko return as a Team, preventing the Order from working on the Durkon situation

mid s4: Redcloak makes another unexpected & unwelcome appearance but he’s maybe a little less of a dick? the Order collaborates with Malack & his Crime Buddies (hello, Vector Legion) to pull one over on him tho, because “less of a dick” does not mean “a pleasant or decent person”, and also he was mean abt Durkon being in jail, so he totally deserved it. he still gets whatever he wanted tho, just takes a blow to his pride. also prevents the Order from helping Durkon. they’re having a LOT of setbacks wonder why that could be, not to make sure the season fills its whole length or anything, no sirree

s4 finale: something something taking down the organization, headed by Hel (yes that’s her real name), which framed Durkon for their Big Crime. Durkon goes free and Extra Firmly retires, For Good, He Swears, but says he “met someone new” who might be an asset.

s5 e1: minrah joins the team! and the episode is set in like, somewhere really snowy. that’s all i got.

the rest of s5: don’t know, don’t care, it’s open-ended until the comic finishes up.

[REPOST] MY 2K WORD COMMENTARY/ANALYSIS OF RANBOO’S LORE STREAM

disclaimer: this isnt really an analysis as much as a bunch of commentary and half-baked theories.

-on the way to the mansion he was sort of talking to himself saying stuff like "i'm good i'm good" which m a y be a normal thing but also maybe it's not and it flew over our heads cause he talks to chats and donos like that so often

-again, this one may just be a normal thing but when he was climbing up the stairs in the mansion looking for foolish, he repeats some of his words like down to the exact same tone of voice and everything. 12:42,  "this mansion is way too big actually. this mansion is way too big actually." (why the repeated actually? seems odd to me but again it might just be a normal thing that i haven't picked up on). (right after) "okay okay lemme find him lemme find him" again repeated words in the e x a c t same tone.

-does everyone know about ranboo's silk touch hands ability thing? or was that just a techno and ranboo main character moment. bc if it was, how would foolish know that ranboo could pick up the full cake after it'd been partially eaten. unless everyone on the sever knows about that in which case this means nothing. but if they d o n t know... how would foolish know? ranboo wrote about it in the do not read book so maybe if it's not a publicly known thing maybe foolish got his hands on the book and read it??

-14:53-ish, they're talking about the war room and how it was for tubbo or whatever and ranboo says, and i quote "he prepares for lore but he's never gonna do it." now funny thing is at first i couldn't tell if he said "war" like in reference to the war room or "lore". but after playing the clip over and over i can say with ALMOST 100% certainty that he said lore. there is a definite L sound at the beginning of the word. which either means a) this was a slip up (doubtful bc he said later that there were no mistakes), b) he broke the fourth wall because they were supposed to be rping at that point, or c) i'm completely wrong and he said "war" which leads down an entire other road of possibilities

(the deal explained because i now have info: at some point a bit ago foolish met up with ranboo and asked to make a deal, he'd gotten a shulker box from drista. the deal was that ranboo would have ownership of the box, it would be under his name but foolish rents/borrows it indefinitely. ranboo negotiated that if he took ownership of the box he would get a "war favor"  from foolish where if something happens that creates sides, ranboo can ask him a favor that could change his side. but why would foolish want ranboo to have ownership of the shulker you may ask? well i have an answer for you. a theory actually but still. basically since drista technically isn't supposed to give out shit on the server if someone where to have that stuff then they may get in trouble. foolish wants to be able to use the shulker but if it gets found he doesn't want to get in trouble, so he can blame it on ranboo seeing as it's under his name.)

Your attempts to get away from JJ were unsuccessful when your foot made an unbalanced step at the edge of the doc and you stumbled off the edge.

“Y/n!” JJ shouted. You felt his hands grip your waist in an attempt to pull you back, but your center of gravity was too far gone, and instead the both of you splashed into the water.

You gasped for air and JJ immediately sprung up beside you.

At first he wanted to laugh, but he didn’t.

You were snapped back to reality, and you saw JJ. His wet hair was almost in his eyes, but he just looked concerned.

You frowned and watched him as he swam to the latter and climbed out of the water.

You followed him and accepted his hand to help you up.

“You know I’m JJ now, right?” JJ asked.

In times of trauma, your mind could play tricks on you. You truly had seen Rafe. You felt him touching you in places you didn’t want him to.

“I..um..fuck,” you muttered, “I just saw...when you were...” you struggled to form an explanation, would JJ hate you now.

“What happened at midsummers? Becuase I know you were alone with Rafe, and now I know..that he did something,” JJ said. He didn’t want to admit it, but the thought of any guy messing with you, especially Rafe Cameron, made his blood boil.

“We weren’t alone,” you correct.

JJ furrows his eyebrows.

“His boys. They just watched,” you admitted, forcing yourself not to shiver in disgust.

“He fucking hit you? That mother fucker,” JJ assumed angerly. He started walking away, and you assumed it was to come at Rafe with revenge.

“No,” you said meekly, he was walking away, but he heard it.

“He didn’t hit me. He..uh..” your voice was shaking you knew once JJ knew he would never look at you the same.

“What, Y/n,” JJ demanded.

JJ read your expression, you were afraid, and that’s when JJ knew. Rafe plaid dirty. Rafe knew the best way to get at his girl was by taking her first.

“Y/n, did he,” he paused, “did he touch you? Like for sex-“

JJ stopped taking when you wrapped your shaking arms around his torso. His hands lay at your waist.

“I just- I keep reliving it. I’ve been through worse...like with my dad, but this? If my dad hadn’t come-“

“You don’t have to explain, Y/n. I’ll only kill Rafe if you want me to,”

You wanted to let go. Let go of everything. So when JJ pitched his idea, it was music to your ears.

“We should just dip, I mean really. Like Yucatán,” JJ suggested.

“Are you kidding?” John B asked.

“Nah man, I gotta get out of this place,” JJ said. You looked up at him from leaning on his shoulder. You were sitting with him against a tree, you could feel the soft fabric of his worn shirt on your cheek.

Your fingers danced along his wrist as you contemplated this idea, then you placed your hand in his and held his hand.

“I’m in,” you responded.

John B scoffed, “great guys. With what money?”

“We could surf all day, and live off of lobsters we catch with our bare hands,” JJ responded.

You felt a drop of rain, land on your leg. Another followed shortly after. JJ smudged it off your cheek and you smiled softly.

“I have to cover the Pogue,” John B says, heading to the boat and adding a cover so the rain doesn’t damage it.

JJ helped you up and you stood closer than expected.

“I should go home now,” you say.

Before you could turn around, JJ’s hand carressed your face and he leaned in. You could feel his breath fanning over your face.

It all happened so fast.

You wrapped your arms around JJ’s neck and your lips pressed together. Your eyes were closed and you missed looking into his ocean eyes. Your lips moved in just the right way. His soft and gentle kiss causing your blush to deepen.

When you pulled away, he smirked, “Just how you imagined it?”

You scoffed and laughed quietly, “not even close,” you replied, and then moved towards him for another kiss.

Moments later, John B announced that he was heading off to pick up some supplies for the boat.

You and JJ shared a look at the news and laughed as he lead you inside.

You both headed into a bedroom and jumped on the bed.

You and JJ continued to kiss. He pulled away to remove his shirt.

Then, the fact hit you, like a ton of bricks.

You looked down at the floor. Was he..? No. You can’t do this. JJ has slept with so many tourons and lost contact quickly after. You couldn’t loose him. You couldn’t let your father be right.

“Hey, what’s-what’s wrong?” JJ asks.

“Um..I just don’t know if...if I want to do this,” you admit.

“Y/n, if this is about-“ JJ began, he lifted up the hem of your shirt and saw the bruises again. They were healing, but still there.

“No, it’s just..my dad said that all you wanted was sex. And-“

JJ reacted quickly, “whoa. Hold up. That is not fucking true. And the fact that you believe that y/n?” JJ sounded offended.

Your heart rate picks up, “you-you hook up with girls, and then...” you couldn’t bring yourself to finish that sentence. Your throat was dry and you were struggling to breath.

“Y/n, you are definitely not just a hook up to me,” JJ paused and took a few deep breaths. You could tell his mind was struggling, “I...I love you,”

Your eyebrows furrowed, that wasn’t a phrase you’ve been called in a long time.

“When’s the last time you said that?” You said softly, a smile forming on your face.

“A long time,” he chuckled.

You got up and straddled him and he laid back. You leaned down so your head was on his chest.

You just stayed there for a moment, your ears hearing every beat of his heart.

“I love you too, JJ,”

“It’s too hot,” you groaned, flipping your leg out from under the covers.

“It’s not that bad,” JJ replied, wiping his forehead.

You studied him. And then, reluctantly, turned the other way and pulled off your shirt.

You weren’t wearing a bra, to JJ’s surprise. So he was blessed with the view, of your bare back.

You shuffled over and turned onto your stomach. Then looked up at JJ.

He smirks, “you’re gorgeous,” he smiled.

You smiled, and shushed him. Finally, sleep took over.

It was finally morning. JJ was a light sleeper, so the rooster woke him up around 6:00am.

His arm was draped across your stomach as he spooned your.

The thin sheet covered your bare chest. JJ felt comfortable against your bare skin. It was a level of intimacy he had been craving.

Suddenly, you stirred beside him. When you felt his hand on your bare skin, you panicked and jumped up.

You strapped your forearm across your chest to cover your boobs.

“Good morning,” JJ said.

“Oh, JJ. I’m not used to waking up with people. You scared me,”

“Sorry bub. What do you want to do today? I think we should take the pogue out alone. I want to show you this spot in the marsh. I think you’ll love it,”

You smiled, looking around for your shirt, “actually, JJ, I have to get some stuff done at home. But we should hang out Wednesday?”

“I can’t wait two days to see you! What’s so important at home?” JJ groaned.

“Just..certain errands. I’m sorry JJ. I promise to hang later?” You offered.

“You’re staying here for breakfast though,” JJ added.

He found your shirt and he helped you pull it over your head, still keeping your chest covered.

You noticed his hair was a complete mess, his blonde strands pointing in all different directions.

“Bed head,” you smirked as you shuffled his hair around.

He laughed, “I’m gonna get you back for that,”

“You gonna have to wait until Wednesday. I gotta head home,” you said, kissing him on the cheek, and getting out of bed.

JJ followed you to the door, but before you could open it wide enough to walk through, he slammed it shut.

“Wha-“

“No way in hell,” JJ said.

“Excuse me? We’ve been over this, JJ. They’re is nothing-“

“Your bruises are just starting to heal! I’m not going to let him make more,” JJ explained.

“What happened to ‘you’re not what he did to you’? Was that just bullshit!”

“It’s not about the bruises. It’s about you letting him hurt you,” JJ replies.

“He’s my dad! My fucking dad! The one person that’s suppose to love me no matter what. I know he does. I just make him mad sometimes. I’m gonna be better,”

“ No. No no no. This?” JJ paused and featured towards your injuries, “this is not your fault. You don’t understand, I’m trying to keep you safe,”

You rolled your eyes, but truly, you were fighting back tears, “so you’re saying that my dads just a shitty person? That I don’t deserve it?” your voice cracked.

“Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying. I’ve learned that the hard way,”

“But...but he told me all the bad things. He told me I deserved it,”

“What did he say? That you’re a failure, a worthless piece of shit? What have you done with your life but smoke weed and live on the south side?” He was referring to himself, telling you what he’s been through.

“No one will ever love me.” you replied, “he’s the best I got,”

“Can’t you see me Y/n? I’m right here,” JJ answered.

“But it’s temporary! What if you give up?” You whimper.

“I’m not gonna give up on you Y/n. Not ever,” JJ assured.

After a few seconds of silence, you opened the door.

“I have to go home JJ,” you said quietly.

Did what JJ said mean nothing to you? JJ thought.

“I’m not letting you,” he said stubbornly.

JJ, Peterkin, and some random deputy, were at your house. A stakeout, if you will.

No one has said anything, and truly, JJ didn’t know if he could handle seeing you hurt. When he saw your dad choking you at midsummers, he nearly lost it, and earned a black eye from your father.

A few minutes later, you arrived. You had stopped at the Wreak to pick up your paycheck after waking up with JJ.

You entered through the front door, and slammed it a little too hard.

“Look who...decided to show up,” your father slurred, his voice raspy from just waking up.

“Hi dad,” you greeted, there was evident fear in your voice, or at least that’s what JJ heard.

“Why don’t you come over here? I can’t see you,” he asked.

You stepped closer to him, hesitantly.

“Where were you last night?” He asked. Your father was quite controlling, that was the difference between you and JJ.

“Working, again,” you replied, attempting to dodge him.

He laughed satanicaly, “see that’s funny. Because I went to the Wreck, and they said, you don’t work on sundays, ain’t that funny?” he said sarcastically. 

“Well, I-“

“You’re playing hookie. And you know what happeneds to naughty girls,”

“Dad, please,” you tried. But when he backed you against the wall. You flinched as he threw a punch at your ribs.

“Just,” he paused to punch again, “obedience, dear,” he continued to hit you, adding kicks too.

From outside, near the window, JJ and Peterkin had a clear view of everything, JJs eyes darkened in anger.

He couldn’t do anything to help, he stared at Peterkin and the deputy to see if they had a plan.

“Are you gonna do something?” JJ asked angerly.

“Be patient,” The deputy said.

JJ grabbed the deputy by the collar and forced him against the house, “he’s fucking beating her!”

“Stay calm, boy,” Peterkin ordered, “the longer he admits to doing it, or we have proof, the higher the charge,”

JJ put his head in his hands. He couldn’t let you suffer any longer.

So, he lead Peterkin to the front door and the deputy protected the back.

Peterkin told JJ to wait in the SUV so he wouldn’t get the blame, but JJ wanted to be here, helping as much as possible.

Peterkin brought her fist up to nock. She nocked twice and the noise inside haulted.

JJ stepped back when the door swung open.

He felt some fear of his own, but he pushed it down for your sake.

Your father presented a tough exterior, even though he seemed to notice a negative fate when a cop was on the other end of the door.

“Officer. What can I do for you?” He asked.

Peterkin took in a deep breath.

“May I have a look inside sir?” Perkin asked.

Your father nodded, allowing Peterkin to step inside. JJ waited until they were further inside to join.

When they entered, you were nowhere to be found.

There was some blood on the ground, and some broken glass. But no sign of you.

“Who are you?” You asked the man in uniform outside your door. You had decided to head out the back.

“I’m deputy Thomas,” he introduced.

“Oh. Well nice to meet you. But I have to get doing,” you muttered before trying to get around him and run in the other direction.

“Actually miss, I can’t let you leave. You are going to have to stay here,”

“Make me,” you stated and attempted to run past him.

It was a good attempt, until he caught your shoulders and grabbed you securely. He pulled you closer to him and hand cuffed your hands together.

“Hey! I didn’t do anything you prick!” You shouted, squirming and struggling against him.

Not gonna lie, it was painful after the shots you had taken.

“Sorry about..the mess,” your father began, “my daughter and I had a little argument earlier. No harm done, I just don’t believe in her fuckin’ every boy in town. Poor thing has gotten hooked on some bad drugs, I can’t seem to control her. It’s hard to admit, as a father,” Your dad said.

It was a lie. A complete lie.

JJ hoped Peterkin would see that.

“And do you know exactly who is supplying her?” Peterkin asked.

“Some kid livin on the Cut,” your father shrugged.

JJ hated the familiarity of the house, there were beer bottles in every corner, and dishes piled up in the sink.

Suddenly, Peterkin picked up a dispatch on her walkee.

Static, “Peterkin. I’ve got the girl out her. Cuffed her because she’s trying to get away. She’s got major injuries, call it in. Over,” deputy Thomas says.

“Let me go!” You screamed, you scratched against his arms and punched his chest. But he was unfazed.

Peterkin muttered the law and rights as she pronounced your father under arrest. She cuffed him, and lead him to the car. Locking him in.

Then she retreated to the back of the house. They needed you to come into the station, take photos of your injuries, for evidence.

You knew how it would go. And you didn’t want any part of it.

You continued to struggle and squirm, insulting the officer in every which way.

But when Peterkin and JJ turned the corner. He let go, and run ran into JJ’s arms.

“It’s gonna be okay Y/n. I set this up. You’re free now,”

“You idiot! There are legal things I have to do now. I’m going to go into foster care, I have to get stripped naked and photographed for evidence! Do you have any idea what you did JJ?” You cried.

JJ hung his head low, “he can’t hurt you anymore Y/n. It’s okay. Calm down. Just let me hold you,”

“JJ...oh my god. I can’t do this...” your tears streamed onto JJ’s shirt.

“I’ll go easy on ya darling,” Peterkin says, “less questioning, and I’ll deal with your foster care situation. See if I can loop you in with John B,”

“Your boy did the right thing,” she said as she unlocked your hand cuffs.

You stared at JJ, he looked like he was about to cry.

“My boy,” you said softly. He kissed you on the forehead and you hugged him close.

“You can’t just make foster care disappear Cheif. You know she’s a minor, right?” Deputy Thomas asked.

Peterkin just shushed him, and told him to drive your father to the station.

Peterkin was the cheif of Damn police. She’d get them off your back.
