So I was thinking about the lack of female animal characters in media that don't look conventionally and stereotypically feminine (e.g., without eyelashes or conventionally feminine accessories), and how Bluey was pretty much the main example of a female character I could think of that doesn't fall under those norms.
So, I decided to make a Google Doc (link here) compiling all the fictional animals in TV shows, movies, and games, that look completely androgynous/gender non-conforming in appearance. It's uh.. Not a very long list so far, but have a look at it if this is a topic that interests you and let me know if you can think of any other characters you'd like to be added!

YJ is not allowed on social media
Most capes have like an official hero social bc people just leave comments like ‘captain colds out again no class?? 👀’ instead of flagging down a hero or getting the police to get the nearest hero so most crimes are discovered through viral videos
And yj decides that they need to be on social media so they make ig and tiktok accounts which somehow led to them running a smear campaign against Lex while he was running for president
it’s mostly videos of Cassie in a superman onesie flying around pretending to save damsel in distress!Kon while Bart in an ill fitting bald cap is sitting behind a desk clearly made of cardboard as he mutters about how he’ll show everyone the truth and petting a picture of a cat with drawn on angry eyebrows then the video cuts to Bart way too close to the camera saying ‘A vote for Lex Luthor is a vote against happiness’ then the video ends with Cassie in the same superman onesie with a lightning bolt taped to the front of it claiming ‘this message was endorsed by captain marvel’ [a week later captain marvel makes a posts responding to the video in a captain marvel onesie reaffirming Cassie’s claim]

What do y'all want to see more of in genderfluid media?
Like, let's say there will be a new character in your favorite show who just happens to be genderfluid. How do you want them to represent themselves? In what ways you want them to show their genderfluidity?
This is question mainly to genderfluid folks but if you're not genderfluid you can speak up too! Just make sure to state that you're not genderfluid first.

i'm a cis woman, but in the past few years i've developed a habit of headcanoning any male character i relate to as a trans women, beginning a fic trying to explore that, and then miserably falling short as i can never figure out how to end the story. i've recently joined a new fandom and started my most recent attempt at writing this ever-elusive character interpretation i've been trying to explain for years. and it occurs to me that maybe the reason i keep trying to interpret these characters i relate to as women and failing to, is because i'm trying to project the wrong experience. because i think that conclusion i can never fully bring myself to write isn't one about coming to terms with womanhood and embracing that identity, but about coming to terms with being a man.
so tldr im a trans man and this is a coming out post.

something that is just so special to me about the locked tomb as a whole is that no matter what happens in the absolute mind fuckery of the plot, the one thing that never changes is that a strong, kind, lonely, caring, young butch lesbian is one of the top three most important people in the universe at all times

never not thinking abt aloto & how it showed actually butch women as normal people AND in the 1950s a time of such intense gender performance. like idk i can't describe how much it means 2 me to see women who aren't feminine. at all. and having them be main characters. sooo much shit i see that focuses on Women and Women's Empowerment and Women's History is always like feminine women or "masculine women" who are objectively gender conforming and as a trans butch woman who cannot relate to cis womanhood or cis femininity im just tired of it. the same applies to ellie tlou; ive only seen the show but ellie is like. a normal girl!!! she's weird and likes guns and just IS without needing some sign of femininity!!!! it's not even about characters being Butch (although that's it too; you rarely ever get proper Butches who are undeniably and painfully Butch and also allowed 2 be people) but having women & girls who are uninterested in femininity and diverge from the femciswoman norm, even if it's not thru masculinity or masculinity alone. idk if im making sense but i just love seeing women who are masc and butch and gross and messy

↳Film: MAJA MA (2022, Hindi) dir. ANAND TIWARI

While making preparations for her son's (Ritwik Bhowmik) wedding, however, Pallavi is outed to the entire town--and subsequently must deal with the consequences to herself, her former beloved, and her family.
Madhuri Dixit discusses her role in this movie, how movies like this are more possible now because of OTT streaming, and the "unexpected reactions" to the story here.
Madhuri Dixit discusses this movie coming from "a place of love", wanting the LGBTQ community to "feel seen", and "accepting people for who they are" here.
The actress Madhuri Dixit has been in multiple gay and gay-coded media, both as a supportive character and as the gay character herself. She has also been supportive in real life of the LGBTQ community.
