I keep thinking of naoya making a fool of himself around y/n and y/n just being confused (idk) like he tries to get her to like him but it doesn’t turn out well😭 , idk if that made sense sorry!!😔
Hello!!
Awww this was really sweet to think about, however I got confused in the end and made it somewhat of a happy ending lmao.
Well, I still hope you like it!! (If anyone wants angst tho, I do recommend reading my valentine's day special. But I too been wanting to write something heart clenching for a while, might get onto it....)
warnings: highschool au. naoya likes you but he doesn't know how to approach you. he is ridiculous.
Happy reading!!
Tumblr media
A silly Naoya is more like an overconfident Naoya, the type of guy that will never stop bragging about ANYTHING just to make you look his way.
It's certainly worse when he's barely starting to acknowledge his feelings, getting to that point where he finally says "I think I like her."
To stand out and get your attention is something Naoya never thought he'd need to do, simply believing that his title as heir of the Zen'in and his outstanding achievements as sorcerer would've done the trick—but they didn't, and now, he had to put in the work.
Thus, the borderline ridiculous demonstrations of his persona, courtesy of Ranta's advice; though if it’s worth anything, this is not what he envisioned.
"Can you believe he didn't want to accept my assignment only because I didn't hand it over in a folder? That's so stupid, can't wait to get him fired as soon as I—"
"Wait, Naoya, Y/N's coming!"
"ANYWAYS I WENT TO THE MALL THE OTHER DAY TO THIS LUXURIOUS STORE AND BOUGHT JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING THERE AND STILL HAD MONEY TO SPARE, GEE WHY IS EVERYTHING SO CHEAP NOWADAYS??? AND PEOPLE STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT THE ECONOMY!! I JUST WISH I HAD SOMEONE TO SHARE ALL MY MONEY WITH—did she look??? Did she turn around to see me??"
Ranta sighs.
"No."
"Ughghhhhhhh what do I need to do to make her see me?!"
Though frustrated, he does not give up.
"—yeah, I think we're going to this super expensive resort for the weekend. I personally preferred to travel out of the country, but you know how my father is, lazy as always. If it were up to that old man we’d never leave the—and now??? Did that work?? Is she looking??"
But the results are the same.
Naoya would keep on trying, loudly proclaiming things that in his mind would eventually earn him your interest, or at least a simple glance….
Until he, eventually of course, tires himself out. Sorrowfully finding that his endeavors had been nothing but fruitless as you continue living your own life, without Naoya in your consideration.
You’re slowly becoming someone unreachable to his grasp, and while he doesn’t plan on giving up just yet, he does intend to take a break, maybe reconsider his possibilities… before coming to a conclusion where you might not be involved anymore.
And what better way to clear his mind than indulging in one of his favorite activities—secluding himself at the rooftop of the school building to read the newest release of his favorite manga.
Unaware that someone else might be there, coincidentally… the person he wished nothing more than to be with.
"What are you reading?" You'd ask upon noticing the intense stare of the young, somewhat handsome man, he’s giving his magazine.
"Do you mind? I'm bus—o-oh!" He freezes upon realizing it was the girl of his dreams talking to him, cheeks burning red as he closes the manga and looks away. “Don’t—Don't you know it's rude to sneak up on someone like that?!"
"Ah, sorry!" You chuckle, slightly embarrassed. "I didn't mean to startle you, it's just that you looked so concentrated, I couldn’t help but to be intrigued! Is your story really interesting?"
"...it is" Naoya murmurs, gaze returning to you—he almost glances away yet again at your closeness, but your beauty makes it almost impossible to do so. "It's the latest chapter, I waited a whole month to read it."
“A whole month…?” you repeat. “Wow.”
“Yeah, it was a long time—"
“Hmmm, not quite.” You teased. “I’ve waited years just to see the continuation of my favorite series! Talk about dedication.”
“Huh, well, I don’t think it’s the same—this felt worse because of how good it is.”
“Really? I don’t know, I can’t believe you—I have to see what you’re reading for that. You grin, he smirks.
“Is that so? Then don’t let me stop you from finding the truth.”
And Naoya happily obliges, both excited to share one of the things he enjoys the most with the person he adores most, as well as the fact that you’re finally setting your eyes on him! After all this time!
He considered it to be incredibly unexpected, and perhaps a bit silly how it came to be, unable to believe that it took so little to impress you.
But as soppy as it sounds, there is truth in admitting that there is no better way to get someone to like you, than by being yourself.
Tumblr media
omg that was so fluffy agkjasjghasjkghjsa cheesy too ahahahahah damn I surprised myself for sure!!
Rest assured, you heard Naoya do all of those things and consistently thought "Is he ok? Why is he yelling?"
After the two begin to date you'll tell him how weird it was of him to do all that hahahah though... "You didn't have to do that, I already liked you." Naoya feels even sillier :^)
Anyways, I hope you liked it!! I'm sorry this didn't end up in a sad note, I read the request very quickly and ended up understanding you only wanted an interpretation of Naoya being silly—though I do want to write something sad between the two, him messing up and all that. Luckily, I have the perfect excuse for that through other asks hehehehehe
Thank you so much for sending in this ask and for your patience!! Take care, and hope to see you soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Manjiro Sano Headcannons
Tumblr media
⚠️ Disclaimer⚠️
This does not only contain cute headcannons. This also contains spicy contants. If you're not interested in that then stop reading once the 2nd warning pops up. This is also my own mind so I can't assure it's gonna add up but it's almost like another future that may exist or may not. So maybe some spoilers of the Tokyo Revengers manga will be here. If your not interested then stop reading by the 1st warning.
Clingy, very clingy
He often acts like a small child who you must take car of, more like a child you're babysitting.
You have to take care of him along with Draken.
Besides this he is still a very loving boyfriend
He always needs a kiss on the lips everytime he sees you because otherwise he will think you don't love him anymore.
He often goes to you place to bring food
✨ You guys eat lunch together ✨
You do often get annoyed of him because of how immature he is, but you still love him.
Tokyo Manji Y/N
He feels pressured to protect you a lot and you often have to remind him that you're not weak and one of the strongest in the gang.
You enjoy seeing your enemies underestimate Mikey because of how small he is, you love it because then you have sometime to tease him about afterwards.
Student Y/N
You often try to stay away from all the gang activity, but sometimes when you're on a date with him, he runs into people from another gang who know him and end up fighting him.
You always need to take care of his injuries and confront him about having another fight because he normally comes over after fighting to bring some food and eat.
Scenarios
Formation of a group (Childhood friend
Y/N)
You had been friends with Mikey for a very long time, practically almost since birth, you parents were close which caused you both to know each other for a while. You remember Mikey's enthusiastic face when talking about making the gang for the first time.
Y/N: A gang?
Mikey: Yes!
Y/N: Mikey, this is a stupid idea. Gangs are malicious! This will not work out, what if we get caught? Do you want people to fear you?
Mikey: Y/N, you've got it all wrong, I don't want people to fear us. What if we're different from all the other gangs? Instead of stealing and doing all the normal delinquent things, what if we fight to stop the other gangs?
Y/N: Is that even considered a gang?
Mikey: We basically will have everything you need to be considered a gang, power, fear, respect.
Y/N: Fine! But if we start being chased by police because of getting involved with illegal activity, turn yourself in.
Mikey: Okay, okay, I will.
Mikey eventually told the rest of the group of friends you guys had and they all agreed. Since then, the Tokyo Manji gang was created.
------------------------------------------------------------
Meeting Mikey for the first time (Highschool friends Y/N)
You knew Mikey. Not because you've met him or talked to him. But because of the amount of gossip there was about him.
1: "Have you heard of Mikey, he's the malicious leader of the Tokyo Manji gang?"
2: "Mikey recently got in a fight with a super bad gang, and he won. He must be a terrible person."
3: "Mikey is a super strong fighter, I bet he's worse then the other delinquents."
You heard of Mikey, but the only good thing you ever heard of him was how handsome he was. Nothing more.
From what you heard you didn't want to meet Mikey, what if you got yourself beat up? In plus you didn't want anything to do with delinquents, although it did partly bother you how kind Mitsuya was part of the same gang Mikey was. But besides it you didn't want anything to do with gangsters.
You were walking with you friend to your next class you were busy finding something on your phone and talking you didn't notice who was in front of you.
: Hey watch where your going!
You look up to see a tall man, blonde hair, tattoos. Oh no.
Y/N: I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I wa-
: Hey, It doesn't matter, don't worry about it.
You felt a hand touch your shoulder, you look over half expecting your friend but instead you saw someone else, much shorter then the other guy, long blonde hair and looked like a ordinary student, but no.
This was Mikey you were looking at, you knew from all the whispers you were hearing from the surrounding crowd of people. The other guy was Draken.
Mikey: Come'on Draken, there's no need to be mean, she was clearly distracted, you're normally nicer.
Draken bowed and apologized.
Draken: I know you were distracted, I apologize.
You were still in clear shock from who was in front of you, even after repeating you didn't want to interact with any delinquents.
Mikey: Hey, I hope you know your friend left a while ago you should catch up.
Y/N: Oh! Thank you...
Mikey let out a small soft smile and continued walking, as you ran to catch up you couldn't get him off your mind.
How could a delinquent be so kind?
Nicknames:
For you:
Dear
Bun
Cupcake
For him:
Tiny
Idiot
Can't think of many lol 😂
Marriage Headcannons:
⚠️Some spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.
Obviously as Mikey reaches adulthood he becomes a pretty depressed person, but you're one of the few good things he has.
He really enjoys holding hands with you because of the warmth your hands have.
It's up to you but I think he would want at least one kid.
You often have to go to sleep while hugging him, if you don't he will have a lot of things on his mind throughout the night.
Doing the deed:
🔞 This is for readers at or above the age of 18. This is not meant for minors. Swear words are also included. Read at your own risk.
He was definitely the one who got turned on first.
He probably had a wet dream and decided to fuck you right then and there.
I can honestly see him as a huge sadomasochistic so have fun.
He doesn't really care if you're in the mood or not, if he wants to do things to you, he's gonna do things to you.
He's a aggressive type of dom.
He will end up hurting you, scratching you, or being a bit to harsh, at the moment he won't care but he won't stop apologizing afterwards.
"You look so pretty wearing nothing while being under me... you arouse me so much.."

A Loner's Unexpected Journey, Part 1
Kimetsu Academy!Genya Shinazugawa X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You are the classroom loner and you like it that way. Then you found this kitten and one thing led to another and before you knew it, you weren't alone anymore.
Warnings: None
A/N: Modern!AU, Kimetsu Academy, Female Reader, Genya Shinazugawa, Gyomei Himejima
PART 1 II PART 2 II PART 3 II PART 4 II PART 5 II PART 6 II PART 7 II PART 8 II PART 9 II PART 10 II PART 11 II PART 12 II PART 13 II PART 14 II PART 15 II PART 16 II PART 17 II PART 18
So, the school had ended and the students were waiting for their club activities to start. You were minding your own business, reading the latest issue of your precious manga when you suddenly heard the loudest and most annoying squeal come from across the classroom.
"So, teach Rengoku is so handsome!"
"And he is, like, so nice!"
You sighed as you heard some girls in your classroom laugh and giggle with each other. You secretly glanced at them on the other side of the room and sure enough, they had flocked together like some hens around this one girl's desk by the window.
You didn't get them. Why chase after something you wouldn't get no matter what? Sir Rengoku was a teacher and a good man, he wouldn't get involved with some young and foolish girls who were head over heels for him. The same went for teachers Tomioka and Uzui, who were also on most girls' dream man lists.
You frowned as you turned your focus back on the manga, but you were now in a foul mood thanks to those annoying classmates of yours.
What, just because you sat by the windows you were suddenly a heroine of this life? Get real.
"Hey, you!" Someone suddenly called you and you silently turned to look at the same girls responsible for your poor mood. They were all smiling and you couldn't help but notice how they were breaking the dress code with their make-up and such.
"Hey hey, can you help us with cleaning?" One of the girls asked and the other one smiled, "You're so good at it, I bet we'll be done in ten minutes with your help!"
Was that supposed to be a compliment? Did they really expect that you would fall for that cheap manipulation? You knew that the second you agreed to help them they would flee and leave all the cleaning to you. It wasn't even your turn to clean the classroom, and when it was your turn you had no help whatsoever.
"Sorry, I have things to do." You replied quietly as you got up, grabbed your shoulder bag, and left the classroom. You seriously hated those girls and the guts they had. Whatever, you weren't fully lying when you told them you had things to do.
The latest issue of your manga had just yesterday arrived at the bookstores and you were eager to purchase it, alongside some treats from the grocery store on your way home. Then, in the silence of your own home, you would enjoy the manga with chips, candy, and maybe some Cola.
You were by the shoe lockers and about to take out your indoor shoes and switch them to your regular ones, but then you remembered the precious manga that you had accidentally left back in the classroom. You had left in such a hurry that you had probably left it on your desk.
Turning around, you approached the classroom and you were about to slide the door open when you heard the earlier pretty girls talking.
"-so what's her problem?"
Who were they talking about now?
"She is so gloomy."
Ah, they were talking about you.
"And so unfriendly!"
"Like, she totally is!"
"No wonder she has no friends."
Hello, you could still hear them. If they had something to say to you then they should say it to your face. Don't hide amongst your girlfriends or behind closed doors.
Well, either way.
You slammed the door open and the girls flinched as they whipped their heads to look at you. You paid them no mind, not even glancing at them as you walked to your desk and picked up the manga you had forgotten. As fast as you had arrived, you left, making sure to close the door behind you, but you didn't leave immediately.
"Do you think she heard us?" You heard one of them whisper.
"She didn't say anything so maybe not?" One of them replied.
"Even if she did, what would it matter?" Another girl said. "It's not like she has friends or anything!"
"True true!" They all laughed and you frowned as you grounded your teeth together and left.
So what if you had no friends? What would it matter?" Would you die if you didn't have any? Would the government collapse? Would the world as you knew end?
No, so why would you bother getting someone that you would end up having to serve and suck up to? You never had friends and you wouldn't need them in the future either.
With this in your mind, you went to change your shoes and left the school grounds. Fall was already upon you all and the air was slowly but surely getting colder, just like days turned shorter and darker.
One would think that the start of the new school year would be a new start for a loner like you, but you preferred your own company over others.
You even had special permission from certain teachers that you wouldn't have to take part in group assignments since you performed poorly with other people and honestly, not that many wanted to work with you when you would only give them cold shoulder and nothing else.
You even hadn't picked up any club activities and you knew you would probably have to pick something soon. Maybe offer to serve in the school library again? That place was quiet and no one really bothered you unless they really had to.
Ugh, whatever, it was another day's problem. You had plans now either way. You would buy the newest volume of your manga that had just come to the bookstore, go home, and enjoy the heck out of it.
Yes, just by thinking about it you were already getting in a better mood. Nothing could bring you down now anymore!
It didn't take long for you to make your way to your local bookstore where you did all your book and comic shopping and you were right, the latest issue was right there and there were still plenty of copies left. You happily purchased the manga and slipped it alongside the receipt into your shoulder bag.
You were just on your way to the high-rise where you lived when suddenly-!
"Mew!"
Your whole body froze the second you heard the tiniest little cry. You looked around yourself but couldn't see the source of the cry. Maybe you imagined it. You turned to continue your journey when you heard the mew again.
Okay, you were now damn sure that you were not imagining that. Deciding to investigate, you made your way to the alley where you heard the soft meowing coming from…
"Mew!"
There it was again! You looked behind a dumpster and saw the tiny grey kitten meowing there. You blinked as your mind was filled with happy thoughts when you saw something so cute you could barely stand.
You knew by what you had read from some manga that you shouldn't take a kitten because mama cat might be somewhere close by… But you couldn't see any signs of other cats anywhere nearby.
"Hi, there little baby…" You hummed quietly as you kneeled and offered your hand for the kitten to sniff. The little thing mewed softly as it sniffed your finger and then gently bit it. It stung, but it was nowhere near hurting you.
"You sound hungry. Are you hungry?" You asked and the little one meowed sadly.
Okay, you could feel regret crawling up your arms if you left this kitten there and if something bad happened to it. Sighing, you picked up the little thing and carefully held it in your arms, but before you left the alley, you checked the little one's gender.
"I think I'm calling you Lady because you are a fair little girl." You thought out loud and the little one looked at you with those big shiny sky blue eyes before meowing.
A couple of days passed and you hummed a little song under your breath on your way back to your apartment, the grocery bag hanging in your hand, filled with cat food meant for small kittens, some formula just in case the little one needed more weight, some wet food, and toys.
As you were passing the alley where you had found the poor kitten, you overheard someone talking.
"Did you see her?"
"No, she wasn't hiding in the dumpster either."
"I hope she hasn't met her fate against a passing car…"
One of them sounded familiar. Maybe even a little too familiar. You peeked past the wall and saw the tall and muscular man, teacher Himejima, and a student… He had a similar uniform that other boys in your school wore. You didn't know his name, you never really had a reason to since you usually avoided every living human being.
You wanted to avoid them, but you couldn't help from overhear that they were searching for someone. A girl, but someone small enough to hide in dumpsters if needed to?
Your mind went immediately to the small kitten you had found and before you could plan your approach, your legs were already carrying you to the two men.
"Teacher Himejima?" You called out and the blind teacher of yours turned to look at you, but so did the young male student. You glanced at him, but he seemed frozen in place for some reason.
"Young miss?" The hulking huge teacher of yours called your name and you nodded, but you realized he couldn't see you.
"Yes, it's me," You said as you nodded again and looked at your fellow student, "Sorry, I couldn't help but hear you talking. Are you looking for something?"
The young man nodded shakily, but it was your teacher who replied, "Yes, a small grey kitten. Genya here found her earlier this week, but couldn't catch her…"
"Aah," You nodded as you raised the bag in your hand, the rustling alerting your teacher, "Sorry, I found her and took her home with me."
"I understand," Gyomei nodded and much to your shock he started to cry, "I'm so happy to hear that the kitten is safe…!"
"Sir, please don't cry!" You were starting to panic. You had heard that this teacher of yours could be a little emotional but you hadn't witnessed it before in person!
"If you want, you can come and check on the kitten yourself if you want?" You offered generously and instantly regretted it. Your apartment was your safe haven and your space only. You didn't like sharing it, other than with the little kitten.
"Ah, I cannot join you for it would be inappropriate for a teacher to visit their student's home…" Gyomei nodded as he turned to address the young man next to him, "All you alright with checking on the kitten by yourself Genya?"
Ah, yes, Genya was his name. You made sure to try and remember that name.
"Yes, sir…" The young man nodded and all three of you left the alley. Once you bid Sir Gyomei farewell, you glanced at your fellow student, "So… You're Genya?"
"Y- yes…" He nodded quietly as he averted his gaze, avoiding any eye contact with you. You blinked in confusion, but you then thought that maybe he was just painfully shy. You could live with that. You introduced yourself to him and he nodded quietly. Without further delays, you started to lead Genya towards your high-rise.
You were entering the entrance code when you noticed that Genya wasn't following you. You looked over your shoulder and saw him admiring the huge building where you lived.
"You coming?" You asked and he snapped out of his thoughts or whatever place where his mind wandered. Quietly, he followed you inside and the two of you took the elevator to your floor.
Once inside, you were telling him to take off his shoes when you heard a small meow. Both you and the young man turned to look and you saw the small ball of grey fur make her way to you.
"Hi there Lady," You greeted the little kitten as you raised the plastic bag in your hands, "I got treats for you."
Hearing the bag rustle excited the little creature and you smiled at the sound of her meowing.
"You, uh…" Genya started slowly, "You named her Lady?"
"Yes, since she is a fair lady." You nodded as you went to put away all the cat food you bought, but before you did that, you glanced at your guest over your shoulder, "Do you like coffee or tea?"
"Y- you don't need to make me anything…"
"This is my home, you're my guest, so my house, my rules." You said with a serious look, "So which one you want?"
"I…" He looked down at his socks, "Tea would be nice, thank you…"
"No worries," You nodded as you entered your small kitchen and put the electric kettle on. You noticed that Genya looked like a lost duckling there at the entrance of your apartment so you called him over, "Come as sit on the couch."
"Yes…!" He walked to your living area and took a seat on the couch by your coffee table. He was so fucking nervous, you almost thought he might pass out soon. Maybe some small snack would help?
You opened your fridge and noticed that you still had some Cola left.
"Oh hey, sorry, if you want, I got some Cola also." You wondered out loud. How could you forget your Cola? You glanced at Genya, "Would you like some Cola instead of coffee or tea?"
"Yes, please…"
You nodded as you turned the kettle off, grabbed the bottle and two glasses from your cabinet, and filled them with the dark sugary liquid. You gave Genya his glass, which he thanked you for and you took a seat across from him.
"So…" You nodded and the young man nodded back quietly.
"Uh…" You looked outside the window, "It's getting windy out there, right? Fall is upon us."
"Yes… It is…" Genya nodded and you felt like a fish out of water.
Oh God, you had been so quiet and cynical for so long that you didn't know how to properly speak anymore. Also, you never had guests come to your little home before so Genya was the first one. Maybe you should ask about something he would feel more comfortable talking about.
"So, uh…" You started awkwardly, "Are you in any school clubs?"
"I'm…" He swallowed nervously, "I'm a member of the school's sharp-shooting club…"
"Ooh," You nodded, quite impressed actually, "That's… Pretty cool."
"T- thank you?" Genya looked surprised, hearing you compliment his club choice. Surprised and maybe a little happy?
"You, uh…" The man looked around and saw your full bookshelf, "You read a lot?"
"Huh?" You blinked in confusion before you realized that he meant your huge manga collection. "Ah, yeah, mainly just some manga. Nothing fancy or such."
"You… Have an impressive collection." He said and you were truly confused by this feeling in your chest. Suddenly there was a little meow and Lady decided to join you and Genya. You expected her to come to you, but she immediately went to rub her head against Genya's foot.
The young man smiled a little as he gently petted the kitten and you were both kinda happy and jealous. You sipped your drink and Genya copied you before petting Lady again.
"She seems to like you." You thought out loud and he nodded, "She was so thin when I found her… I couldn't take her because of my brother… I'm happy that she is safe."
"Me too." You nodded as you watched the two of them interact. You found yourself curious, "Is your brother allergic to animals?"
"No, why?" He asked and you shrugged, "You said you couldn't take her because of him. Why, is it because he is allergic?"
"Ah, no, nothing like that…" Genya frowned a little, but tried to hide it, "He thinks school is more important and animals are just a distraction from homework and exams."
"Oof, that sucks." You thought out loud and immediately felt bad, "Sorry, I meant no harm. I don't know your brother or his reasoning."
"It's okay… He is actually a teacher in our school."
"Oh?" You raised your brows in slight confusion, "Who?"
"Sanemi Shinazugawa."
"Hm…" You frowned, "Doesn't sound familiar…"
"White hair and many scars." He told you and your eyes widened as you finally realized who his brother was!
"Oh, the math teacher!" You exclaimed as you nodded, "Yeah, he is pretty strict about school and math."
"That he is…" The young man nodded and you almost felt bad that his brother was so obsessed with good grades and such.
"I, uh…" Genya suddenly swallowed nervously, "I guess I should go… Now that I know that Lady is okay…"
"Ah, okay…" You nodded as you got up and went to take the empty glasses to the kitchen sink while Genya made his way to the entrance. He already had his shoes on when you went to say goodbye to him.
"So, uh…" You looked around, not knowing where to look, "I guess we see each other at school?"
"Yeah… I guess…" Genya nodded as his face turned red again.
"Okay… See ya?" You nodded and he nodded back before turning and leaving your apartment. You closed the door behind him and for some reason, you felt your legs almost give up.
You quickly went to sit on your couch and sighed. What the heck was wrong with you? Why did you feel so… Happy after talking to a human? You hated other humans, why was Genya so different?
Suddenly, Lady meowed and you realized that she must have been hungry.
"Ah, sorry Lady. What would you like, chicken or tuna?"
She meowed again and you nodded as you smiled a little, "Chicken it is."

Yashahime: Awful Sequel
Tumblr media
When the first of the information came out that Inuyasha was getting a sequel, everybody was excited but it was a really awful show that was overhyped. It became a failing sequel to the Inuyasha franchise just like Boruto became to the Naruto franchise. It's a show about a hanyo version of kagome and/or rin who inherited the obsessive clingly nature, a hanyo female version of sesshomaru who barely has a personality that doesn't involve slaying and playing the violin, and a weak comic relief shihanyo who inherited her parents worst traits, who are majority of the time always winning fights.
Rushed
Just like with Inuyasha the Final Act, Yashahime was extremely rushed and boring. The Final Act was quickly wrapped up in 1 season as the manga was longer.
2. Constant Copying
In one of kohakuxrin's post there is massive recycling from the previous inuyasha content and especially the final act manga material that wasn't made in the rushed anime. As they

- The Silver Crystal was split into the seven Rainbow Crystals so as to seal away Seven Great Yōma. And as Sailor Moon shed a tear for her lover Tuxedo Mask who was mortally wounded, it caused the seven Rainbow Crystals to react and merge into one, forming the Silver Crystal itself. - As Zero shed a tear onto the Sacred Jewel, upon learning the death of Toga whom she was fond of, the seven rainbow pearls came out of it.
22) Chibiusa and the Door of Time
Tumblr media
- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.
No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).

3. Contrived Powerups
Majority of the time, you would notice that towa, Setsuna, and moroha get these power ups to easily defeat an opponent by emotions or hearing about something.
4. Miroku and Sango's Family
Other than Hisui, they are barely seen.
Miroku spent the majority of the series on a 1000 day training and in the last episodes of the season he was suddenly powerful and taking on the grim butterfly. In episode 22, miroku was easily defeated by zero and had kin'u take his place.
Sango, who was known to be a strong female fighter in the original, was reduced to simply miroku's wife and hisui's, kin'u's, and gyokuto's mother. In the last episode of the final act, sango retired from being a demon slayer but could've come out of retirement to lead the new demon alongside kohaku but instead she's reduced to making mask and supplies. In the last episodes of season 2, sango comes out of retirement to fight with a rushed weapon called the black hiraikotsu.
Hisui could've continued to learn under miroku while being a demon slayer despite kin'u being a monk first. Sango, who was the original owner of the hiraikotsu, should have been the one to inspire hisui to be a demon slayer instead of kohaku. The hiraikotsu doesn't have the abilities it achieved in the final act.
The creators of yashahime decided in season 2 to give hisui feelings for setsuna, making it offiical in episode 48, to make it opposite of riku and towa since hisui is a full blooded human riku is a incarnation of a full blooded yokai.
Kin'u and Gyokuto, who appeared the least in the show, only appear to make a character shine. sango, who is a skilled fighter, didn't even train kin'u and gyokuto in combat as the only thing they do is throw sutras and powders. The creators didn't put any thought into their character designs as kin'u and gyokuto should've had different hairstyles and lengths from each other as the only difference in kin'u's hair was the small ponytail and gyokuto's hair didn't change at all. While kin'u's attire did change, the difference between gyokuto's attire from childhood was her apron and woven sandals.
They could've appeared more in the series and developed their personalities and abilities.
And when shippo appeared again especially in episode 48, kin'u and gyokuto reverted back to their personalities when they were little children.
5. Kohaku and the Demon Slayers
kohaku's face looks like iruka from the naruto franchise. Despite opposite character designs and weapons, rokuta and nansuke barely have personalities and don't even have backstories
How could the demon slayers, especially kohaku and hisui, not know setsuna was a hanyo after seeing her abilities and sensing her aura.
Kohaku and the Demon Slayers really don't think things through sometimes and aren't very bright.
Ex. Nikosen was poisoning a mountain and instead of thinking of other ways to defeat him, the only way they thought to defeat him in their minds was to burn the mountain.
6. Secrets
It seems to me nobody wants to talk about the past.
Despite living in the modern era for 10 years, the higurashi family never mentioned or seen pictures of kagome to towa until she was about to leave for the feudal era.
kaede never told kohaku, hisui, and the other demon slayers that setsuna was a hanyo or was sesshomaru's daughter. After 10 years of not seeing setsuna, kaede never once told her about sesshomaru, rin, or towa and even when she returned she still didn't explain. It only took 21 episodes for kaede to tell towa about rin and even then it was quick information about how they lived together for many years and she disappeared shortly after she and setsuna were born.
kaede never even told moroha about inuyasha and kagome.
I wonder why nobody especially miroku and sango told kohaku about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru and rin's daughters and not even a letter.
Even when kohaku found out about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru's daughters, he only mentioned something to them in episodes 5 and 31.
When miroku first met towa, he was informed that she was setsuna's older sister and instead of telling her about their parents he just stood there silently.
When the higurashi family realized that moroha is kagome's daughter, they never told her information about her and inuyasha and tried to fix this in season 2 especially in episode 28.
7. Underage Pairings
The creators of yashahime really don't care about the sick relationships.
sesshomaru and rin, knew her ever since she was 7-8 years old.
riku and towa, he knew her before she was born
homaru and tamano, kidnapped and tried to force her to love him.
moroha flirting with bokuseno.
I don't have an opinion on hisui/setsuna or hisui/aiya.
8. Rushed and Failed Backstories
They really didn't think much into the childhoods.
In episode 15, towa and setsuna were taken away and placed in a forest for 4 years and moroha was sent away to the koga and ayame by hachiemon.
In towa's childhood after being separated from setsuna, there's not much known as we see her meet sota, have a weight set and trophies to explain her life, a flashback of a pinky promise, and they gave of these rushed memories in episode 36 like they gave kagome rushed memories in the final act.
With setsuna, her being taken away from the burned forest, being accepted into the hidden hanyo village, training under 2 orders, defeated 2 lizard yokai, flash forward 6 years later, a recycled flashback from episode 3, returning to the hanyo village, a quick copy and pasted of episodes 51 and 52 except the soldiers are yokai, and leaving the hanyo village.
With moroha, a quick flashback of her last training day with yawaragi, battling a recycled character kodoku, being sold to jyubei, battling the birds of paradise, and giving quick images of her as a baby in episode 39.
9. Contrived Emotional Moments
The scenes that are supposed to be emotional are bland, rushed, and cringe-worthy.
Ex.
sota and towa's relationship wasn't sad for me as in season 1 and 2 they had very little interactions and were forced.
Ex. in episode 4, sota and towa talking and saying goodbye and in season 2 sota and towa meeting again and goodbye again after he tells he will always see her as his own blood daughter as they transform appearance when they first met.
A female wolf yokai named yawaragi was mentioned in episode 14, appeared as a small cameo at the end of episode 15, and official debut. She has a few flashbacks, a quick fight, then they tried to give us this emotional dying scene of her with moroha but i'm not attached to the character and everything goes back like nothing ever happened except for a new ability.
towa and setsuna tearfully hugging each other and apologizing when setsuna regains her memories.
riku tearfully killing zero.
moroha reuniting with Inuyasha and kagome while towa and setsuna, which is weird for her, tearfully watched.
moroha keeping the black pearl with the beni.
towa and mei's moments plus the final goodbye.
riku confessions of love to towa especially before everyone battles the grim butterfly and him dying.
Inuyasha, kagome, and moroha having a family moment on the bone-eater's well.
rin hugging towa and setsuna while sesshomaru and jaken having a conversation while 2 other families watched them.
towa and Setsuna hugging moroha in their new attires.
towa confronting a disguised riku in jyubei's shop.
moroha hugging Inuyasha and kagome before leaving their home.
Basically episode 48 was one of the worst episodes in the entire two seasons.
10. Terrible Characters
Majority of the yashahime series characters were boring and confusing.
Ex.
In season 1, she looked more like she was the big bad of the series than Kirinmaru, who didn't even act like the villain.
Zero possessed much more of a threat to our main characters, as she is responsible for the forest fire that separated Towa and Setsuna and indirectly separated Moroha from Inuyasha and kagome. She's done various other things, blackmailing Sesshomaru by cursing Rin. She feels very much that she had the same level of connection that she had that the same connection Naraku did with Inuyasha.
zero's back story as well seemed uninteresting and confusing, having feelings towards Toga, and when he dies her love for him drives her to kill his descendants. She could have become more interesting as the series progressed. If the rainbow pearls sealed away her emotions, then why is zero taking revenge on toga's descendants and got angry at sesshomaru's mother.
But that was not the case, as when season 2 aired, is when Zero started to run down downhill by gathering the rainbow pearls, for revenge, kidnapping towa, and basically holding rin's life hostage, and it all ends in episodes 36 and 37.
To start with, Setsuna learns from Rin that she must save Zero to stop the curse from killing her. Really wished we knew that before. Thanks, Rin, which leads into the next episode.
At this point, Zero has been emotionally torturing Towa for the entire night by reminding her of her sadness and suffering, and is pretty much trying to get Towa angry enough so that she can kill her, and in doing so kill Rin. She's almost successful when Setsuna shows up, shows Towa the dream butterfly, and suddenly Towa loses all the anger she has towards zero in a matter of seconds.
towa then thanks zero for what she's done and it is really annoying. zero prepares to kill herself and Setsuna cuts the thread of fate tying Zero to Toga and she removes the curse from Rin and commits suicide by Riku.
All of these in a matter of minutes, they make Zero, this threatening and uninteresting villain and rendered her more pathetic. They had to give her a redemption arc when she's been the most villainous character in this sequel. Kirinmaru felt more like an obstacle the same way Koga was in Inuyasha. But this, this was so dumb, and when I was watching episode 36 and heard what Rin said, I knew what this was leading into but it was so much worse when Towa thanked her for it. She really didn't need to thank the person who separated her from her twin sister and tried multiple times to kill her, sister, and rin because it's just wrong.
The creators of yashahime couldn't even give zero an actual conclusion that fitted with her character, and she's forgiven so easily. You didn't see Inuyasha thanking Naraku for setting him and Kikyo against each other and killing Kikyo, Sango thanking naraku for killing her village and controlling her kohaku, and miroku thanking naraku for cursing his bloodline. Could you imagine how messed up that would have been?
11. Timeline Error and Wrong Ages
The story takes place after 18 years after the final act but they keep getting the timeline wrong.
In episode 3, kaede said the bone-eater's well stopped working after 15 years.
In episode 39, kagome said she hasn't seen her family in 14 years.
Despite the yashahime creators making jaken and the tree of ages saying that rin is supposedly 18, she is really 15.
The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained in databooks that rin is 7-8 years old in the beginning, sota is 8-9 years old, and kohaku is 11 years old.
In the 3 year time skip at the end of the final act rin is 11, sota is 11-12, and kohaku is 14.
4 years later when towa, setsuna, moroha were born, rin would be 15, sota would be 15-16, and kohaku is 18.
When they were 4 years old, Rin was 19, sota was 19-20, and kohaku was 22.
10 years later in the present as they are 14 years old, rin is 29 not 32, sota is 29-30, and kohaku is 32.
The reason the creators tried to age sota and rin up is because they forgot.
12. Copied Information
If you watched yashahime, you would immediately notice the constant copy and pasting from the original series and the final act. They're trying to do this to bring back memorable feelings to the new series.
Ex.
Even though the rainbow pearls were created from the sacred jewel and have its essence, as they just copied lesser powerful versions of it.
towa, setsuna, and moroha fighting mistress three eyes to remember the fight between inuyasha and kagome with mistress centipede.
setsuna not wanting to be a hanyo is a reference of sesshomaru disliking hanyo.
towa being controlled by the hitokon like the little boy, but how did it appear in the modern era without being seen.
setsuna remembering mei thanking her is to remember rin smiling at sesshomaru.
moroha appearing in the room naked without shame just like inuyasha.
grandpa higurashi giving moroha, who had a weird look on her face, a kappa foot just like he gave kagome, who also had a weird on her face, a kappa foot as well.
13. Sesshomaru
Personally, I've never really liked sesshomaru as just like miroku, jaken, sango, especially shippo and kagome. As in yashahime, sesshomaru became bland and terrible.
Out of all of the characters whose personalities and motives changed from the original series, The one who got it the worse was Sesshomaru. Despite him not being on screen for very long in the first season and the currently ongoing second season, he's barely said anything. To be fair, Sesshomaru wasn't having full-blown conversations with everyone, but he at least has some conversations with other characters. Here he barely says anything.
He's also not very emotional, which was the same in the original series, but with what has happened in the second season of Yashahime, you'd think the writers would give him some kind of emotional moments not the sick ones of sesshomaru holding rin when the curse was placed on her in episode 27 and it being taken off her in episode 37.
In season 1, sesshomaru has barely appeared and mostly made short cameos and flashbacks.
Ex. In episode 18, sesshomaru only appeared for a short time to quickly fight kirinmaru, orders jaken to not say anything then they leave.
The plot for him is really bad and doesn't make any sense, sesshomaru takes towa and setsuna shortly after they're born, stay away from them and refuses to help them when they were 4 years because homura and zero, who he can easily defeat, who kill them herself and kill rin, who said she would rather die than let them be sacrificed for her sake, but changed his mind when they were 14 years old. And sesshomaru idiotically listened to jaken sealing into the tree of ages and sealing inuyasha and kagome away into the black pearl because they thought they would go after zero and killer which would also kill rin, even though they would find another way to save her.
Even though, sesshomaru secretly gave setsuna items and tasks over the 6 years she's lived in the hidden hanyo village, he's a terrible father as he doesn't tell them anything, basically an absent father, left towa and setsuna to face kirinmaru and setsuna was killed, completely left the task of setsuna saving rin to her and didn't do anything as kohaku and sota were more fathers to them instead of himself.
The creator of yashahime could've made janis or kaname kururugi canon in the series and giving them a story of how they came to permanently live the feudal era, or a new female character with a background but instead they disgustingly chose rin, a girl he knew since she was 7-8 and mostly treated like a daughter.
In Yashahime, sesshomaru is a terrible husband as he doesn't see rin as an equal and majority of the time still has the father-daughter dynamic and treats her like a pet.
Ex. shortly after towa and setsuna, sesshomaru didn't say a word to rin and took the twins without a single explanation to anyone other than a rite of courage and cowardice, commanded her to follow him and stay like a dog especially in episodes 46 and 47 when he commanded her watch him battle kirinmaru, and even in episode 48 when he still ordered him to follow him. The only time sesshomaru is ordered around is in episode 35 by rin.
In season 2, sesshomaru majority of the time just stands and watches things happen for plot, even when he's in the grim butterfly, in a coma, and letting others such as towa, setsuna, and moroha to do the work.
For an example, In Inuyasha, the final act, when they are in the underworld and Kohaku tells him that Rin isn't breathing. Sesshomaru shows genuine fear and concern, which I believe is the only time he acts this way. Then when he learns that Tenseiga can't revive her, he blames himself for it and says that nothing was worth losing her. It's one of the most powerful moments for Sesshomaru and shows just how far he's come. Whether you see Sesshomaru care towards Rin as Fatherly or not, this scene shows just how much he cares for her.
Let's compare that to in Yashahime.
After Sesshomaru kills the dream butterfly, it causes the Silver scale curse to spread more quickly, which will eventually kill Rin. She's pretty much dying in front of him, and he has no way to stop it himself. So how does he act?
He says nothing, even when she talks to him and he keeps the same face.
sesshomaru separated moroha from inuyasha and kagome for 14 years and the one who gets scolded for badmouthing him was inuyasha, who was rightfully so, and he was instantly forgiven, kagome saying 'i'm sure he had his reasons', sat inuyasha, and scolded him for blaming towa and setsuna, even though he wasn't. setsuna also shouldm't have to apologize on sesshomaru's behalf.
He later kills the dream butterfly to motivate Setsuna to be able to use her Yukari no Tachikiri, which nearly causes Rin to die because of him and finally, he doesn't go and save Towa when she is being tortured all night by Zero and Nanahoshi by his minature galaxy.
It feels like they were trying to frame it as Sesshomaru could be genuinely working with Kirinmaru, but in doing so, they make him look like he's the worst father of the year. And with how long this mystery dragged out, it didn't make Sesshomaru look any better.
It definitely it's completely different writing when it comes to Sesshomaru in both series, with Inuyasha, Rumiko wrote him a clear goal and a conclusion. In Yashahime, they're trying to one-up the audience with their mystery and are unintentionally wreaking his entire character.
14. Not Naming Characters
Despite new characters such as moe higurashi, mei higurashi, and aiya receiving names there are lot of characters that still don't have names such as sesshomaru's mother, weasel man, gokoku village headman, northern demon slayers leader, the granny, the lady, the muscle, the ninja, and so many others.
Despite knowing that his name is toga, they still refer to him as the great dog demon.
15. Nerfed
Just like Boruto and Dragon Ball Super, the power scaling doesn't make any sense. In Super, beerus, who is a god, is fighting goku, who turned into a super saiyan god, after a period of time transforms back into a simple super saiyan but doesn't make any sense that he can still can fight beerus, they tried to explain away this through beerus but it doesn't work. In Boruto, there have been many multiple fights where the older generations are nerfed to make the younger generation shine like when jugo hit konohamaru and he couldn't move for a few days but when jugo hit boruto he easily recovered, when karin had to become weak with her chakra chain in order for sarada to be strong, or when in the time travel arc with urashiki that sasuke was constantly weak in order for a genin naruto, boruto, and jiraiya to shine. It also happens in more sequels like in yashahime.
Ex.
kirinmaru, who is equal to toga, can receive massive injuries from towa and setsuna, hanyos, and moroha, a shihanyo.
Zero, who possessed all of her 7 rainbow pearls that contain her immense yokai power that can summon an even greater demonic power that is far too strong and dangerous to even exist and the essence of the sacred jewel, can easily be killed by a feral towa.
The grim comet/grim butterfly, that has vast amounts of demon energy that it took toga, kirinmaru, sesshomaru, and inuyasha to defeat small fragments of it, was being completely held back by miroku and kagome, not even combined can match midoriko and kikyo.
towa creating the twin azure dragon wave but not sesshomaru.
16. UnInteresting Fights
Majority of the fights are boring and rushed.
Ex.
In season 1, you would notice that more than half the fights are recycled from the final act manga and the original series.
towa battling the human boys.
totetsu battles against miroku, hisui, towa, and setsuna.
totetsu and riku battling each other.
In season 2, the fights are stale and lack originality.
towa and setsuna battling rock fiends.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru.
osamu battling riku and towa.
Ex. In the final fight against kirinmaru and sesshomaru, the fighting moves sesshomaru uses are recycled from his fight against magatsuhi.
17. Bland Characters
Most of the yashahime characters lack character and are boring.
Ex.
Despite Raita and Futa having their parents killed by different species, different abilities, and opposite appearances, they're basically the same as one said something and the other agrees and repeats what the other said, they say 'take this' and attack. Raita and Futa's appearances didn't put much thought into them and when they're older the difference they get is armor.
With Mei Higurashi, we're told about her personality from towa but she's annoying and reminds me of kagome and rin when she wants to run into dangerous situations to resolve problems, bossy, and whiny.
Moe Higurashi rarely has a personality as the naive overly cheerful person that reminds us of ms. higurashi and her appearance looks like a light brown haired kagome and the only thing we know about her is that she's a traveling violinist.
takechiyo wasn't much of a character as is a less annoying version of shippo and a boring background story with his twin brother.
18. Sudden Recovery
In the original, inuyasha sustained damages from powerful and mst of them took him a while to heal but in yashahime mostly everyone, including towa, setsuna, and moroha, heals instantly from their injures even hisui.
It feels like when characters are facing powerful enemies they instantly get up without a scratch despite having injuries. I know they're hanyos from a powerful dog demon but it's contrived.
Ex. setsuna becomes injured after being restrained by mistress three eyes but quickly recovered to defeat her.
towa was weak after being released from hitokon's control but instantly recovered when setsuna wanted to remove the hitokon from mei's face.
miroku battled gaga gozen and was instantly defeated and weakened but instantly recovered when he battled setsuna.
In episode 18, towa, setsuna, and moroha battled kirinmaru and easily lost but instantly recovered.
19. Plot
The plot was really stupid and to be dramatic.
Ex.
In season 1, ever since episode 2 when towa and setsuna separated, they constantly remind us for drama by memories and/or through other people in episodes 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 20, especially episodes 8, 10, and 14.
placing a seal on setsuna and her main weapon to keep her demon blood in check but during the series she's never fully tries to master it, only a small piece of it known as the blood blade. they made setsuna have a seal but not towa, that's not fair.
Throughout season 2, everyone was saying that towa needed to fight with a demon weapon and not something made by humans but at the last episodes she's fighting with the kikujmonji, a weapon made from humans.
moroha getting through mount musubi's barriers.
In episode 17, setsuna, who doesn't even know anything about sesshomaru and the dog demon clan, suddenly knows the dog demon clan is capable of discovering demonic energies from a distance with their unusually sharpened sense of smell but in episode 23 she questions her clan.
In episode 24, riku stabbing kirinmaru, who had his guard down, to weakened him for towa, setsuna, and moroha and towa stabbing kirinmaru.
In episode 24, setsuna dying so towa and moroha can instantly power up.
In episode 38, towa, setsuna, and moroha attacking kirinmaru and sesshomaru taking kirinmaru's attack and sending them into the black pearl.
In episode 39, kirinmaru showing up and demanding sesshomaru to come out before battling inuyasha, kagome, and moroha.
osamu kirin, who barely appeared in the series, was suddenly the villain of the last episodes of season 2.
riku and rion battling kirinmaru and later riku, who was heavily injured, easily taking rion away from kirinmaru.
In episode 47, towa dying so rion can face fear who ended up dying again anyway.
It doesn't make any sense, Rin was stuck in the tree for 4 before the silver scale curse slowly started to spread but suddenly when the dream butterfly was killed it spread all over her body within a few episodes.
20. Rushed Abilities
The abilities within the yashahime series are quickly inherited and lackluster.
Ex. towa instantly receives the energy blade after meeting the mistress three eyes.
towa receiving the azure dragon wave.
after myoga explains inuyasha's tessaiga absorbing demon energy, towa instantly receives the skill to absorb demon energy with her energy blade.
moroha receiving the crimson backlash wave.
towa receiving twin azure dragon wave.
In the original, the tenseiga was able to revive people once with no time limit as it revived goshinki and rin but in yashahime they decided to give it a stupid 1 hour time limit.
setsuna quickly mastering the yukari no tachikiri after 2 incidents with sea snake woman and mayonaka.
towa instantly mastering the zanseiken.
setsuna instantly achieving vermilion bird ambush.
moroha instantly mastered the bow she received from her parents.
21. Background Characters
The creators of yashahime really didn't put any thought into what to do with the characters.
Ex. The higurashi family basically didn't do anything as in episode 2 they were just get kidnapped and standing there and in episode 3 when towa, setsuna, and moroha were interacting with each other, all they did was silently standing there and didn't speak to them.
With shiori, they barely changed anything about her appearance except she now wears woven sandals and different hairpins and worst short as she doesn't and let's little children fight for her.
With koga and ayame, they only make a very small non-speaking cameo at the end of episode 15 and don't even have children of their own.
22. Hairstyles
The creators of yashahime really didn't put much thought into most hairstyles such as takechiyo, kikunosuke, kin'u, gyokuto, rion, and futa have the same styles.
23. Bad Animation
In episodes of season 1 and 2, you can see multiple terrible animation mistakes.
Ex. Setsuna flying away from towa and moroha.
zero laying on the ground and rin coming out from her slumber when zero died.

Trashahime: Massive Recycling!

10) Yuki and her brother

11) Wakana

12) Kodoku

13) The two onis

14) Snow Panther

15) An incarnation of the main antagonist interested in a member of the dog demon clan
Tumblr media
16) Not alone anymore
Tumblr media
17) A moth demon destroyed by a hanyo in a mindless state
Tumblr media
18) Kao and the bug in the chest
Tumblr media
19) Shibugarasus, Toads, Kumogashiras
Tumblr media
So the demons Inuyasha fought were actually aliens!? 🤦🤦🤦
20) The giant bug with Naraku within
Tumblr media
And not just Inuyasha, also Sailor Moon
21) The Rainbow Crystals
Tumblr media
I know there are some similar materials and characters designs in Rumiko Takahashi’s manga series, but that’s from one work to another that she does some reuse and she still comes up with original materials which makes her mangas differ a lot between each other. In the case of a continuation of one story, it’s really pathetic, which is one of the reasons why Trashahime was a cheap what if made by amateurs.

Girl I had a dream about the Naruto film, no idea why. But first, Kishi personally approves of Destin Daniel Cretton, and second, he's a producer of the film, so I highly doubt that the film will deviate from canon, particularly when it comes to shipping, especially with Kishi being involved as a producer (like he was with The Last and Boruto the Movie, which are the only 2 canon movies in the franchise).
Now, on to my weird ass dream about the film. It starts off with everyone graduating from the Academy at 17 instead of 12, so they're not exactly child soldiers (obviously, legally, they're still children, since the age of majority in Japan is now 18, as of 2023; it used to be 20 up until then). Ino is still friends with Sakura, but overall she's much closer to Hinata because she recognizes that Hinata needs the friendship more and Hinata appreciates her more. Naruto is a lot nicer to Hinata from the start (he doesn't think she's plain or dark or a weirdo, and he wishes she'd actually talk to him sometimes, since their conversations tend to leave her not being talkative... but she doesn't blush all that much around him and, unlike the stupid filler, she never stutters or faints around him). He hates Sakura from the start and complains about being placed on the same team as her because she bullies him (she's 17 and has no character development, what a shocker), his complaints actually reach Sarutobi's ears (although Iruka had to convince him, ultimately), and Sakura is switched out of Team 7 with Hinata while she's instead placed in Team 8 under Kurenai, with the official reasoning being that she's great at Genjutsu (which I think the manga did allude to in Part 1... but I can't remember, since I'm not completely active in the Naruto fandom as much anymore). And despite Hinata still starting off being shy and timid, she grows rather quickly under the new Team 7 and manages to mediate between Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry, and she manages to convince Sasuke not to defect from Konoha by actually talking to him about his issues with Itachi and Fugaku and relating to how she had issues with Neji and Hiashi... and that causes Sasuke to develop feelings for her, leading to a much more intense rivalry between him and Naruto, who realizes how he truly feels about Hinata from this.
That's all I can remember about my dream at this point. It was kinda turning into The Last towards the end of my dream, albeit with Sasuke replacing Toneri 🤪

The Kids in the Room
The Fullbringer Arc is tighter and more coherent than anything in the manga so far, telling a very straightforward story about a young person’s alienation from the world he lives in. It has very specific things to say about the role of parents, mentors, and friends in the process of a kid becoming an adult and does a pretty decent job of looking at how different organizations (the state, gangs) can play into that young person’s life. And then, at the climax of the story, it very intentionally takes all that hard work, and for what I must assume were business reasons, tosses it all away.
Tumblr media
The Arrancar Arc was a glorious, grandiose mess. It featured no fewer than three separate worlds, four distinct factions, and probably around twenty characters with active character arcs. Although it started off with the truly breathtaking ambition of weaving all of this together, by the end Kubo had cut a considerable amount of the subplots in favor of actually getting to the end of the story he was telling. And it still mostly worked! Ichigo’s character arc, at least, ended where I think it was always going to: sacrificing his nigh-unlimited power after understanding the price of that power.
Tumblr media
But of course, giving up all of your powers isn’t really a long-term solution for Ichigo, just like it isn’t for any of us in life. Ruling over three worlds might tend to corrupt a person, but we all want—and need—to feel like we have some power over our own lives. Ichigo, in his final year of high school, living on the precipice of adulthood, feels this in more than one way. He had this power. He sacrificed it. And yet now, he’d do anything to get it back. Anything except ask for help.
Tumblr media
You see, asking for help is hard, but especially in the context of “seeking power”, which in this story is an even less veiled metaphor for “growing up” than it usually is in shonen manga. Asking for help means admitting both weakness (you don’t have the power to get what you want right now) and discontentment (there is something you want that you don’t have). For Ichigo, whose primary method of coping with his mother’s death was asserting a premature independence, this would be difficult even if the thing he was seeking wasn’t something he had very publicly given up in front of his friends and family. Yes, there are times when he doesn’t want to involve them to protect them, but a big part of his self-imposed isolation is his own ego, his unwillingness to reveal to people who love him just how miserable he is, out of fear that it will reveal him to be somebody they won’t love anymore.
Tumblr media
And that’s where the Fullbringers come in. Ginjo puts in a tremendous amount of work into getting close to Ichigo—lying to him, giving him little bits of information piecemeal without telling him the whole thing, and of course, offering him power that Ichigo desperately wants. But none of it would be possible if Ichigo didn’t have this preexisting desire to do it all himself, or at least to appear to his friends and family like he’s doing it himself. Ginjo does what nobody else in Ichigo’s life does—offers him assistance without making him ask for it. Hook, line, sinker.
Tumblr media
The body of the arc covers this masterclass in manipulation from Ginjo, and it’s a huge change from what has, up until this point, been a very standard shonen battle manga in terms of content, where the fights happen on a more or less weekly basis. Here, it takes over half the arc for Ichigo to fight anybody! It’s all character development, even for the side characters like Orihime and Chad, who don’t get fights of their own but do get to express themselves and show initiative in ways they were largely denied in the previous arc. It’s all a long, slow burn to the climax, where Tsukishima suddenly strips away the support system that Ichigo had so undervalued, leaving him defenseless against Ginjo’s theft of his power.
Tumblr media
And that’s my big frustration with the climax. It’s not that I like the Karakura kids more than I like the Soul Reapers, although I very well might. It’s that so much work has been put into drawing out and developing these relationships, so much effort put into showing how this is affecting all of them. And it’s not just metatextual effort either—yes, we spend a lot of pagetime with Chad and Orihime and Uryu, but Xcution also targets them all because of their importance to Ichigo! The very story itself recognizes that they’re the support system that Ichigo needs to be an emotionally healthy adult! Any logical resolution must therefore involve them!
Tumblr media
But it doesn’t. Instead, it’s the Soul Reapers, who have not been physically or even narratively present at all for four volumes, who come in and repower Ichigo. They’re the ones who pair up for the fights against Xcution, fights that are very light on the sort of character work that is so characteristic of Bleach fights because there just isn’t the grounding for it! Even the fights that show character are mostly showing development that seemingly occurred off-panel, leaving you wondering when exactly Toshiro and Ikkaku achieved their newfound maturity. But the supporting characters from the bulk of the arc are written out, and even the personal feelings of Shigekuni Genryusai Yamamoto wind up being more important to the narrative.
Tumblr media
This isn’t just unsatisfactory on the level of the supporting characters, it also fatally undercuts Ichigo’s own development. We expect the story to end with him overcoming the challenge set in front of him, which at the beginning is clearly his alienation from the people he loves. But he doesn’t really do that—instead, the Soul Reapers showing up is what solves his problems, which suggests that the actual problem in his life is just “they weren’t around”. I don’t think that’s actually what we’re meant to take away here, and the narrative doesn’t seem to think so either, which is why we end with the character development being passed on to Soul Society instead. They learn something in this arc, which is to trust Ichigo. But he doesn’t seem to have learned a damn thing.
Tumblr media
And that’s what frustrates me so much about this arc: the lost potential, the fact that there was a very obvious story being told that was abruptly discarded, right at the moment it mattered most. There was probably no way Kubo could have fulfilled all the potential of the Arrancar Arc: there were just to many characters, too many storylines. But here, he condensed his writing, narrowed his scope, and still told a compelling story up until he suddenly threw it all away. Whatever the reason for it-- and I have no insight into the editing or business pressures that might have motivated a climax so different from that the story was obviously building to-- it’s disappointing.

oooooooh same anon! are there any characters that you don’t write about in mha that you find compelling?
thanks for the ask! <3
I LOVE the villains. I adore tenko and while I stand by my decision to write him out early in bitter rivalry, I also always thought it was a shame, because I love him. I'm not caught up on the manga but my friend is keeping me up to date... seems like horikoshi is really tapping into the fantastic potential of tenko's character as someone who was groomed since childhood to become this destructive monster and was never given the chance to form a healthy sense of identity... and the parallels with izuku? how they were both these timid little abused children who idolized heroes even though they had mixed feelings about whether or not heroes could actually be trusted? because they needed something to believe in? oh my god
I also find keigo to be very compelling, and touya as well, and how they interact with each other. the concept of keigo who was essentially BOUGHT by the government as a child and raised into this maximum-pressure role???? doing all this fucked up shit, like becoming a spy in this nationally feared terrorist organization, and murdering jin who was his friend, and betraying dabi who he had so much in common with, and that's to say nothing of his normal hero life which involves having the whole entire world on his shoulders, publicly, at all times. and he's like. literally my age. girl
and then touya????? one thing I lowkey can't forgive canon for is that touya told the whole world what enji did, and the whole world just decided to do nothing about it. honestly I preferred fanon touya before he released that video in the manga, when all the dabi fics had him going around killing abusers and shit as vicarious revenge against his dad instead of just murdering innocent people to spite his dad. but either way touya as one of the people the hero system actively victimizes - the son of a violent abuser who is worshipped for the exact same aggression he wields against his wife and kids - and touya's refusal to lie down and let it happen, his decision to fight back with all his strength no matter how much of a monster it makes him... now that's good
keigo and touya having no say whatsoever in their childhoods being raised for combat... keigo and touya always holding endeavor as their ultimate symbol of what heroism is and means... keigo and touya being liars, keeping secrets, burying themselves in so many layers of truth and untruth and half-truth that they can't quite distinguish anymore who they are or what they believe, only what they do... keigo and touya trusting no one, keigo and touya dreaming so hard for a better world even though they have no evidence that it's possible at all. keigo and touya being in love and still stabbing each other in the back bc they don't have the freedom not to, or think they don't
anyway bubaigawara jin is my best friend and he deserved better than All That Shit. same with magne. also togachako supremacy

psa, because I know that "miss me with that lawlight bullshit" is a turn off for many when they look at my profile lol.
I don't have it in my bio because I actively go out on my way to hate it, I just wrote it because being a lawlight shipper is basically the norm in this fandom - either you are that or you suck ass.
i actually follow people that ship it (not everyone can be perfect, am I right? /s), and i just simply ignore the posts they share regarding it.
also I don't like it because yk age gap (still weird to me, because i mean 24/25 - 17/18) but because I look at them a see no chemistry whatsoever. not even enemies to lovers. nothing. I think of them and there's literally a void in my brain. I see no red strings connecting them in my mind. they are two separate entities that could never be together, not even during the yotsuba arc. maybe kind of friends, but yeah, not really, not even that. I genuinely think that even if Light wasn't Kira and L wasn't after him, they would not be friends in the slightest. they are so different and not in a "opposites attract" way, but in a "you are draining me and my will to live" way. L keeps negatively commenting about Light's behaviour during the whole time he is with him, and it's clear that he doesn't like him at all as a person. "ugh, you sure like to hear yourself talk", "even if it's an act, it's just too corny", and so on and so forth. when Light loses memory, he's clearly pissed, because he wasted months after him, and he keeps him around because he still thinks he's guilty, everything is an act, Light will make a mistake and he will be there to catch him slipping. that's that. literally nothing. I can't see any drama or cliché tropes. the foot scene was extremely awkward. I remember being so weirded out by it because it clearly didn't fit at all (I saw the anime before reading the manga), along with the whole rain scene (beautiful add, but L would never do that). the "you are my friend" was bait. the whatever else scene you want say reeks of lawlight is to me simply two people co-existing in the same environment, having to deal with each other's asphyxiating presence. L liked to challenge Kira, but when things didn't go his way, he found himself doing nothing for two months and not even pretending to be Light's friend. he kept ignoring him and seemed about to want to cut Light's tongue so that he wouldn't annoy him anymore. literally, as if X's brother (Y) said to their mom that the X wouldn't let them play at the PS4, the mom would intervene a make X give the controller to Y, Y would play in front of them, acting all happy and trying to get them involved, and X would just be there watching the scene wanting to strangle them. that's the yotsuba arc to me, simply put.
L had more enemies to lovers trope, more chemistry with Aizawa than with Light. I'm sorry, it's true. the continue bickering, the going back and forth, L testing him, Aizawa leaving and then coming back, the tension, L actually liking him more because he's not as performative as Light, yada yada yada.
And obviously, L respected Soichiro more than Light. because he saw him as a human being, and not an enemy to bring the fuck down. they respected each other on a human level, which was so pure to see.
when I was younger, like 13, I used to ship lawlight because everyone did, but now that I'm less afraid of being attacked for my opinions I guess, I can say all this stuff.
that's all.

Ok bro gn reader and bonten boys as the hot dads and how you ended up together and what the kid thinks of you
A/n: I hate you and your overwhelming love for Takeomi, you're annoying, but enjoy anyway ig. I really struggled to write this due to my fatherly lacking. (Again, we know each other in real life, I'm not bullying a random person.)
Warnings: Mentions of neglect & father problems, short people, jokes about my lack of a dad, dark impulses, and some kinda-sorta Manga spoilers.
~~~
Haruchiyo Sanzu
He can’t be a dad anymore
If Sanzu was a single dad, that baby’s not surviving
Someone else in Bonten is probably raising that kid
Probably either the Haitanis or Koko
He’d try to distance the kid as far away as he could
Y’all met at some random alley
Sanzu lives in alleys, prove me wrong
Probably never told you he was a dad
Rindou made a comment about Sanzu being a dad and that’s how you found out
“Sanzu! Have you told them about your kid yet?”
My dude was pissed
Finally introduced you guys like 7 months into dating
That kid loves you
You are the one who formed a connection between Sanzu and his kid.
I should write a fic about this, 9/10
Kakucho Hitto
My lovely boy who I miss very much
He'd be the sweetest dad
Literally the most caring person ever
Finally, a dad who doesn't ignore their child's mental health
He's the dad every fatherless person wishes they had
You two met when he was getting his kid icecream
The kid was low-key scared of you
Kakucho would be so gentle with them omg
He'd introduce you two slowly and give you time to adjust
He would bring his kid on dates with you so you two could talk
Once the kid realized that you were a good person, they clung to you.
Kid literally would not let you get away from them
They're clingy, but you love them
I love this, 10/10
Manjiro (Mikey/Michael) Sano
Oh... Michael...
He'd pass the kid to Sanzu tbh
Michael's kid is the only kid Sanzu likes
Yes, I will call him Michael for this, live with it
Michael doesn't ignore his kid, but he's not very active in his kid's life
You guys probably met mutually
I know that man doesn't go outside
He'd tell you that he had a kid, but he wouldn't go out of his way to introduce y'all
You'd really have to nag him in order for him to introduce you two
The kid was terrified
They know that most people around their dad are awful people
It would take them a long time to adjust to you
Honestly, I don't think that the bond between Michael and his kid was fixed
You tried, 6/10
Ran Haitani
I honestly feel like he'd be a decent parent
Better than Michael
He wouldn't be perfect, but he's definitely trying
He relies heavily on Rin to help him
Both of them raise the kid
Ran wouldn't have a great relationship with his kid, but it's not terrible
Wish I could say that
Y'all met at some random club
He'd introduce you to the kid before you guys start dating
By the time you began dating Ran, the kid was comfortable with you
I feel like Ran would become a better father
He would try harder to be in his kid's life
He'd bring the kid to dates with you
He's not terrible, 9/10
Rindou Haitani
My man would be a decent dad
He'd try to give the kid the best life possible
He would be such a good dad
I love this man
He would try to be as involved as he could, but sometimes he couldn't be there for his kid
Y'all met at a cafe or some shit
Rin hangs out at cafes, prove me wrong
He would immediately introduce you to his kid
he wants you two on good terms
The kid's nervous at first
Rin would take you both out somewhere to get you better aquanted
Once the kid realized you were a decent person, they would absolutely adore you
Congratulations, you're a parent now, 10/10
Hajime Kokonoi
Koko would end up raising the brattiest kid ever
Literally spoils them to no end
He loves his kid, but at a cost
He doesn't really know how to be a dad
He's trying his best, but his kid's a jerk
Y'all met at a bank
Omg Koko makes his kid do the birthday dice roll
He'd introduce you to the kid early on while dating
The kid hates you
If you don't buy them shit, they don't care
They are the brattiest, most spoiled shit-stain ever
It would take months of giving presents for the kid to like you
They don't even really like you
They just use you for presents
Y'all got issues, 5/10
Takeomi Akashi
There's no way this man can handle a kid
Dude could barely take care of his siblings
You just know he handed that kid to Koko
He wouldn't try to distance himself from his kid, but he wouldn't be an active father figure
Y'all probably met at a bus stop or something
I doubt this man goes anywhere else
When you started dating him, he'd introduce the kid
The kid probably liked you in the hopes that they'd be in closer contact with their dad
When Takeomi realized that you two liked each other, he'd try to be a better dad for his kid.
It took him a hot minute, but he's trying
Ngl you definitely take care of that kid
He's trying at least, 8/10
I honestly love reading chapter 7 theories people make but I honestly think Yuu or mc ain't gonna play a big role on Malleus's or any other diasomnia characters overblot because okay we're with him but like I feel like it's either Lilia or Silver taking on the role of overblot bringer lol idk anymore but what do you think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If we look at the pattern established by previous episodes and OB boys 🤔 I would say it’s likely that it’s either Idia/Ortho or one of the Diasomnia boys that claims Malleus’s final straw. It tends to be another one of the boys, usually the ones from the previous episode or one predominantly featured in the current episode, that says or does something that makes the current episode boy lose it (ie Ace and Trey call Riddle out, Lilia says that a collar suits Leona better than a crown/Savanaclaw demands Leona put forth effort despite the initial plan failing, Leona destroying Azul’s contracts, Jade catching Jamil confess on film, etc.).
Since we don’t really know what episode 7 will be about (other than some themes foreshadowed in the main story), it’s hard to say what direction it will take. (I mean, no one was expecting episode 6’s STYX raid 😂 we were expecting Vil to barge down the door to Idia’s room and drag him away from his manga and anime kicking and screaming…)
If I had to guess, it’s possible that the Shroud brothers (who are very closely tied to death) do or say something that reminds Malleus of how short life is, and how he will likely have to live on while everyone around him is lost to time?? But if it had to be a Diasomnia boy, I think it’d probably be Lilia? There’s been some subtle “death flags” set up for him (like Lilia saying this “may be the last time he wishes on these stars”), and he seems to be the closest to Malleus out of all the retainers. He’s also pretty much the only one in a position of power that could reasonably speak out against his prince. I think that Malleus hearing something from Lilia, who is so much more worldly than he is, could set him off.
Silver and Sebek are also possibilities, of course, but they’re much more speculative; there isn’t a lot to pull from explicit canon that would point to them pissing Malleus off. There’s a lot of theories about how Silver is the “Aurora” or the sword that will slay Malleus, or theories centering around Silver’s mysterious past (usually they involve him being a lost prince; sometimes the kingdom he belongs to is characterized as hateful of fae). In this case, maybe Silver would anger Malleus by choosing to leave his Diasomnia family for his biological one?? But I don’t think this would realistically happen, as Silver is already very close to Lilia and has served as an inbetween for humans and fae; I don’t see him aligning with a hateful ideology or siding with strangers, even if they are blood-related. As for Sebek, he’s kind of hard to believe as angering Malleus because of how blindly loyal he is in the first place. He wouldn’t want to offend someone he admires so much.
In any case, all of these characters likely have a history with Malleus that stretches back farther than the time Malleus has spent with Yuu. I think this makes them more likely to be the triggers rather than Yuu, but I do also think that Yuu will play a more active role in episode 7 due to their past interactions in the main story. They already speak to Malleus in a pretty casual tone, so I think it’s more likely that they serve as kind of an inbetween for Malleus and those who are too afraid to approach him themselves, similar to the role that Silver plays between humans and fae.
Hi, I'm writing a Naruto fanfic and I'm interested in how you think it feels to like activate sharingan willingly for the first time. Like, you go through the shock of acquiring it and all that, but then you go back home, you look into the mirror and try to activate it at will so you would know how to do it in the next battle. I can't find this anywhere online, so I just made something up. Like, do you need to gather some chakra and then release it? Or is it more primal like blinking for example?
Hmmm, I'd have to re-read the manga to give you an accurate description, but let's see what I think:
The activation is second nature 'cause it reacts to an specific stimulus instantly. It's a mechanism of self-defense, hm, something more like how our systems release adrenaline in response to danger.
Later, the user can learn to control it with training. However, it still develops from pain, sorrow, fear. You can't get a Mangekyou Sharingan by simply training for it. That means that even when it can be used willingly, it's still a genetic response that depends on the level of emotional involvement of the user.
If I had to guess about the mechanics of it all, I'd say it works like focusing your vision on a distant point or trying to read in the dark. Your eyes react to your command according to the capabilities of your body. It might hurt after, you might get a migraine, it's tiring to the muscles and the nerves just as much as any other exercise.
Since we're talking about a peaceful activation after the initial awakening, I'd say it feels more like a strained or tiring type of blink. One that can be accompanied by a rush of the painful memories that caused the manifestation of the sharingan.
Let's make a descriptive demonstration and agree that character X is facing himself in the mirror of his house. He activates the sharingan for the first time since he got it, wanting to practice with it before his next battle, just like you said.
First, he'd find it is easy to do. Genetically, he just has to blink and there, red eyes are staring back at him in the mirror. The next thing he notices is that his reserves of chakra are quickly dropping. The Uchihas have evolved to own a level of stamina that can maintain the sharingan for longer than a none Uchiha can, yet it still takes a considerable amount of chakra. Especially for a beginner.
Maybe the sight of the sharingan can act as an emotional or psychological trigger to the user. A reminder of what he went through to adquire it. Maybe he can not notice the strain of maintaining the sharingan activated due the flashbacks going through his mind. Either way, you need to imagine a sand clock is being turned. Once the chakra levels are low enough or the physical capability of the user can stand it anymore, the sharingan will deactivate be itself. The user can do it before it happens too, in order to activate it again later that same day or simply because he doesn't one to get too tired.
Something to think about is the initial shock of seeing the world through a sharingan, now that there's no battle to be fought. Make the character think about how much clearer he can see now, or maybe he thinks he looks different with red eyes. Does time slow down? Does the enhancement of his optical capacity give the illusion of any other sense also becoming sharper? How many tomoes does he have? Does he forces the tomoes to spin? Iw he surprised by it?
Consider the lineage of the character. Best genes means it could be easier for him. Consider too the personality, since the sharingan is so tied to the feelings and emotions of the user. It can vary from one character to the other, so don't be afraid to explore the possibilities!
MHA on Twitter - Part 1 (Manga & Spin-Offs)
Other than endless shipping wars and discourse, Twitter is also a genuinely great source of information on My Hero Academia - because a lot of the Japanese creators involved are active there.  As several people have asked me for the sources I use for my posts, I figured someone may find it useful if I summarize them here.
Manga
The starting point is of course Horikoshi’s official Twitter account.  He uses it basically only to post his Twitter sketches and retweet (very selectively) some promotion. As far as I know, this is Horikoshi’s only social media presence and he doesn’t make media appearances. @makeste made a compilation of different Horikoshi interviews.
Tumblr media
@myheroacademia is the official Twitter of the manga, though they are terrible at putting out info, like volume cover art first. But still, it is a useful resource. They retweet the BNHA-info from  @jump_henshubu (which is the official account of Weekly Shonen Jump)
#ヒロアカ is the main hashtag of all things MHA.
@shonenjump  is the account for the official EN publication by VIZ.
Shonen Jump News - Unofficial  is a fan account with tons of information about upcoming content, author comments, sales data, etc.
The EN translator, Caleb Cook has a Twitter account where he used to post his chapter trivia, but stopped it due to fandom drama. The account is now inactive.
Spin-Offs
Another account worth following is Akiyama Yoco’s (creator of Team-Up Mission, and longtime assistant of Horikoshi). Team-Up Mission is published monthly in Saikyo Jump (Twt:  @SAIKYO_JUMP) and Akiyama has been lately drawing also a lot of the promotional art. In her Twitter, she does lovely promo sketches, both for TUM and for the main Manga.
Tumblr media
The recently finished Vigilante spin-off creators  Hideyuki Furuhashi and  Betten Court  (@bet10co10) also both have Twitter account. Though now with the series ending, they will probably moving onto new projects.
BNHA Smash!  was created also an ex-assistant of Horikoshi, Hirofumi Neda  (@dorori_k) who is also very active on Twitter, though is not involved with BNHA anymore.
Another ex-assistant is Noguchi (@nstime23) who is now working on his own manga, but still actively posts BNHA sketches (mostly Mirko and Decchan drawings).
I’ll add for the sake of completeness that the writer of School Briefs is Anri Yoshi, but I don’t believe he has a Twitter presence.
Finally, let me recommend some manga colorists actively doing MHA panels:
@ALLHOTMIN   @ArtKeehl  @FlamGraphicsART  @HEXAMENDLE  @macinator_  @Bokunocolor  @Justixplode
Fan accounts that post (non-leak) information / summaries in EN:
@Color_Division   @shibuyasmash
Part 2 will be about the anime.
So I've gotten into reading a bunch of isekai manga where the premise is reincarnating/traveling back in time in a romance story/dating simulator setting. Usually as either the villain of the original story or as some random side character. Half the time the original protagonist turns out to have been Evil All Along so that now this protagonist has someone to fight back against.
It's gotten me thinking. What if there was an isekai story about a dude reincarnating into one of the romantic leads of a dating sim? So at first he's really hype because that means that all the girls are going to have the hots for him because he is literally now designed to be desirable, but then he realizes it isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Like maybe because he's a different person that "spark" just isn't there. Sure, he may be really attractive, but maybe he really hates physical labor so now he can't actually be the strong mercenary of the original setting because... you know... he'd have to exercise and learn how to fight now and that's really hard. So all the girls that loved the heroic and strapping character just aren't into him now. Or maybe he wasn't the best at studying so now he can't fill the shoes of the top student character anymore, leading all the girls that were into that character's brains not give him a second glance.
So the protagonist has to go through a journey of learning what actually makes him a desirable person and there is no magic answer to love.
Or maybe! He's reincarnated as a crown prince character and everyone still has the hots for him no matter what decisions he makes, but now he has responsibility. Sure, he has all the wealth and power to do whatever he wants, but now politics are involved and he has to take lessons to become a proper ruler and there are expectations.
There can be some fun exploration of the original work's main character and our protagonist's feelings towards her. Does he want her to go on his route so he's actively trying to woo her? Or does he think she was kind of a bland character (because she's a Mary Sue for the female players to pretend to be) and instead tries to get her to go on one of the other dude's routes? Maybe in the original game the main character had to fight against a romantic rival in each route so now our protagonist has to decide how he feels about that love interest as well.
I don't know if I'd ever be able to write a story like that, but I want to read it.
