Okay but have we considered roller derby amy?

It’s something I can see her getting into post-heroing, especially as a method to regulate her energy.

Where does Shadow come in? Well he’s at one of the events because Amy invited him and Rouge (or they need her for something after and dont wanna interrupt) and they watch her get slammed into a wall by an opponent. She gets up with a broken nose and busted lip, and gets right back into the game even if she’s still actively bleeding.

Shadow watches in quiet awe as they finish up and this is the spark of his crush on her (or he’s just kinda flustered because he did NOT know that was something he found attractive) Which Rouge obviously notices and teases him about.

Now there’s the option for a cute moment here where he tells her how awesome she is afterwards etc etc. But I think it’d be funnier if the first thing he does after she walks up to them is reset her nose (which probably hurts a LOT) and then walks away without saying anything.

Rouge has to have a conversation with him about why resetting a pretty girl’s broken nose is NOT flirting later.

(I know nothing about roller derby or nose breaking so if that’s not how any of this works, I wouldn’t know)

((I know about as much as you do about those things, and I love the idea! I imagine she’d be ranting about the game to Rouge afterward all bubbly and happy, and then she looks at Shadow a little funny because he’s just gawking, and then he sets her nose and leaves, lmfao.

Shadow: “I couldn’t come up with anything, so I solved a problem instead. She should have thanked me, if anything.”

Rouge: “jfc”

I love this idea so much that I googled “amy rose roller derby” to see if anyone had made any fanart of the concept and, lo and behold, an artist on deviantART named Chauvels has delivered! There’s one for Amy and a whole bunch of the Archie girls, too, like Sally and Bunnie, all linked in the post! The internet continues to be a wonderful resource. <3 ))
