pt.2 of this fic - better left unsaid
synopsis - mingyu can't let you go.
pairing — mingyu x gn!reader
genre/s — hurt-comfort,minor fluff??
a/n - this isn't my best work but I had so many people asking for part 2 so I had to write it 😭😭 I'm not good at writing hurt comfort so pls forgive and focus on mingyu <3
w/c - 1k ish
Tumblr media
“y/n get up”
you groan and pull the blanket over your head, wanting to block the sunlight coming into the room. your best friend was kind enough to let you crash on her couch for the night, but you forgot she had a life, work in the morning.
“give me 5 more minutes” you snuggle into the warmth of the couch.
“y/n if you don't get up I swear I'll call up mingyu right now- oh okay damn that was fast”
she stares at you as u immediately get up and give her a annoyed look
“did he really hurt you that bad?”
did he? it's something you also didn't know the answer to. honestly speaking you were mad at mingyu but somewhere in your heart you wanted to forgive him. somewhere in your heart made you think that maybe he never meant it, maybe it was really the heat of the moment
“he hasn't called” you look over to your phone, staring at it. it's silent, no notifications from mingyu asking you where you where or anything. it was completely silent
“he's doing what you asked him to” your friend hands you a glass of water
“I have work but you can stay here as long as you want, don't think about the fight too much okay? from what you've told me, he seems like an amazing dude, maybe it really was a heat of the moment thing? anyway don't rot here all day, if you can go out get some sun” she gives you a small hug and a smile. you nod and say goodbye to her.
the rest of the day goes by quick. all you do is sit on her couch and watch some shows. you thought of cooking something but it kept reminding you of last night so you let it go
it's about 7pm when the door bell rings. you get up to open it, fully expecting your best friend to be standing on the other side. but its not. instead it's a man.
“oh”
oh.
you meet his eyes. he looks the same as he did last night. you don't look better yourself, messy hair and puffy face.
“can I come in?”
“this isn't my house”
“then can you come out?
“I don't know”
mingyu runs his hands through his hair and sighs. he looks at you one last time before sitting down right in front of you and looking up at you.
“mingyu what are you doing..”
“what I should've done yesterday” he looks directly at you, his eyes threatening with tears.
“I get you want to be left alone y/n but I can't do this. I need you to know I'm sorry. I can't let you go to bed mad at me. you don't have to speak to me but please just listen to me?” he looks at you pleading. if the atmosphere was different, you would've laughed at him, told him how he looks like a puppy sitting at the foot of the door.
you don't say anything though. you slowly slide down the door and sit next to him, looking away.
“y/n, you're the love of my life. I've never loved anyone like I love you. what I said yesterday…I regret it. I know that's not enough, I know you have every right to not believe me. but I want you to know that I never meant to hurt you. I wasn't thinking, I had too much anger and frustration which just burst on you and I'm sorry okay? you don't have to forgive me but please, please believe me when I say I'm sorry?” his voice was shaking. he was trying not to cry and speak as clear as he could but he was failing. he took a deep breath through his tears
“you don't have to contact me right now, talk to me when you want to, I'll leave you alone for now” he started getting up slowly when you grabbed his arm and made him sit down again. you finally look at him again.
“I'm still mad at you, but I'll let it go for now. I want you to promise me this won't happen again.”
mingyu smiles, wiping the tears off his face
“I promise, I swear on my life I'll never speak out of frustration again, I promise.”
you nod, holding your hand out to him “okay, let's go home.”
mingyu pulls you into a hug, buring his face in the crook of your neck and smiling. you hug him back, just enjoying his warmth for a while.
you hear footsteps and look up
“you guys are so cringe.. ugh you're going to let bugs into my appartment please leave or get in or do something so I can close my door”
you laugh, glad mingyu didn't leave this unsaid.

What Makes the Perfect Gift?: A real Aside (and no stakes left)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As always, thank you for the people writing me every time there is something new SaSi-related, because I don't pay attention to Thomas' Youtube account anymore.
In this case, thank you twice, because I would've never paid attention until 2024, considering I had pretty clear plans for my holidays and they involved:
a Christmas trip with my family
a (hopefully!) New Year trip away from home (hopefully!)
But since my plans were too good, the universe decided "Fuck no" and gave me fucking Covid. So my Christmas plan blew away and here I am, slowly recovering for New Year. Thanks. Great.
So I apologize for taking quite some time to reply to comments, asks and everything else: until yesterday, I still had some fever and was unable to look at any screen without feeling even more feverish. But today I'm better, so here I am, finally watching and writing about this Aside.
I'll admit it: I was quite curious, because in the first ask, the anon told me there was a "video (?)", while the other talked about an episode. Me, being the cynical person I am, immediately thought it was Mr. Sander's new Christmas ad for his new sweaters.
But, to my joy, it was not. Glad to know that Mr. Sanders can do something SaSi-related that is not just an ad.
Honestly, this Aside is way, WAY better than the previous one. The characters' personalities are better, the interactions are better, everything is better. Even the moral and the writing of the episode are better.
Sure, there are still a few things here and there I do not like, but compared to the previous Aside, they're way less. Still, I will mention them all because of intellectual honesty and because it doesn’t make sense to ignore the bad to focus on the good only.
_______________________________
Where the fuck does everyone live?
The episode starts: Logan calls everyone, says they will do a Secret Santa and that "Janus and Remus will join us today".
First of all, I can understand why Virgil is groaning, but why Roman is groaning too? He got Janus for the Secret Santa, so he should already know Janus is joining them today. Otherwise, how was he supposed to give him his gift? By mailing it? I know it's a small inconsistency, but this is a small episode too, so there shouldn't be inconsistencies at all.
Second, Logan talks about Remus and Janus joining them, by saying that "they'll get here" and that "they came all this way to spend Christmas with us".
For me, this raises A LOT of questions because Logan uses the kind of language you would use if your aunts/grandparents come to visit you on Christmas - i.e. if someone who lives far away from you comes to your place.
But these people all live inside Thomas' mind. So how far do these two live? How does Thomas' mind works? And most importantly: is Thomas copying my headcanons about the mind and the Sides' rooms? In that case:
At least acknowledge you're taking inspiration from me, Mr. Sanders. It's not nice to steal ideas without admitting it.
When I said the mind is vast, I also explained that the Sides can move fairly quickly between planes and Janus can even jump from Unconscious to Subconscious in seconds. I also explained that Logan doesn't know how many actual planes there are in the mind, so why should he say that Janus and Remus had to come "all this way" to meet them, if he doesn't know how big "all this way" is?
If Mr. Sanders isn't inspired but he just decided now that the mind is huge (which contradicts his past idea, since he said in the past that the Sides live in rooms and every room changes according to the space Thomas is), at least offer more details about this new idea and think about them. You can't just change your canon and go with it. That's writing 101, you should already know that.

Janus has been replaced by his drunk doppelganger
I explained in my last post why Janus being a wine mom is funny and the reason is that it's subtle. It's not thrown in the face.
So no, Janus showing a massive wine bottle isn't funny, nor subtle. It's exactly what I meant by "thrown in your face".
And this saddens me because... do you remember his introduction? His first episodes? How suave he was? How focused he was on being this mysterious, charming, dark figure?
Tumblr media
Ah yes, exactly like he is now: a laughing, bubbling, drunk idiot.
Tumblr media
Seriously, does this look like the same character to you? Does this look like the same guy?
I don't know if Thomas didn't know how to handle Janus or straight-up forgot who he was supposed to be. In that case, please allow me to remind you all that Janus was supposed to be the bearer of Thomas' secrets, the embodiment of lies and (probably), the one who hides the last Side. Do you think this kind of figure should act more like a suave, mysterious guy or like a drunk idiot?
And yes, I know “alcohol funny ah ah”, but Janus is the last Side who should be a heavy drinker, considering how much self-control he needs and what kind of jobs he has.
It’s just sad to see such a character being mishandled like that, you know?
_______________________________
Patton's gift and the true Creativity
You know, people blamed Patton for giving Remus an air fryer because "it's the gift you give when you don't really know someone" and bla bla bla... but that's all bullshit and the reason is very simple: Remus is a creative force.
Yes, that's it, that's all you need. Remus is a creative force and to a creative force you can feed literally anything. It doesn't matter if it's an air fryer, a 200$ painting set or a single needle, Remus would've found a way to use all of them. Heck, Patton could've gifted him literal trash and Remus would've found a way to use that too.
Also if you notice, Remus doesn't hate the gift, on the contrary: he's extremely curious about it, he asks what he can fry inside it and when he leaves, he already has plans on how to use it. That's how Creativity works. That's how Remus works. And that proves what a great Creativity he is.
Remus truly is the best character.
_______________________________
Remus' gift and the unexpected wholesomeness
Listen, I'm not biased towards Remus... okay, maybe a little bit. But still, his gift is wholesome and here's why:
it's handmade! I mean, even if it's disgusting, he spent time making it by himself. That proves he cares about Virgil so much, to spend his time making something for him
It's handmade, which proves Remus is a creative force, because what's more creative than making something yourself?
Mr Fuzzy is probably the offspring of one of the Great Old Ones, considering it’s a monstrosity with too many eyes, no clear shape and its real name is something similar to the name of the Great Old Ones themselves
Mr Fuzzy is made with the stuff in the shower drain and that proves it's probably the offspring of Cthulhu because, you know, water
Virgil knows Remus gives a name to the stuff in his shower drain and that's like proof no. #700 they know each other very well
Remus is saving Virgil from Cthulhu, because when it wakes up, it will probably spare Virgil for taking care of its demonic offspring.
And most importantly:
M̶̨̖͈̟͕̰̠̀͑̊̓̍̒̅͠r̸̘̲̜̖͆͗̇͛͑͂́ ̶̼͎̽̓̊͗F̴̫̈́̈́̈́̔͆̀̎̈͘ụ̶̉z̵̧̢̜̖̘̩͒̎͛́͘ẑ̴̺̺͓̩̝͎͙̖̳̓̈́̇̄̈ͅy̶͕̱͔͖̿ͅ ̴̦̼͓͎͕̩̆̓́͑͠͠d̶͙͚̩͇̳̑̑͂͒̂̏͛̏̚ǫ̶̦̘̦̺̣̬͎͐ẽ̷̮̯͚͎̾̽̊̋s̴̛̟̮̻̱͕̗̼̹̭̐̐́̌̋͋̄̈́́n̶̡̢͓̺̔'̵̨̯̤̬̜͇̭̅́t̵̪͛̈̃̐͝ ̷̡̠̤̱͈̳̎͆͝͝͠ḽ̶̚i̶̯̱̙̟̼̪̭̳̹̅̎͋͋̓̊͗̇͛͌ǩ̷̪͘e̷͎̖̦̔̒̿̎ ̵͚̩̄͑̑̾͆̇̒̎b̴̨̛͙͈̱̙̗̰̗̎̀̔̿̎̔͝ẽ̸̡̥̫̂̍̒̋́́̂͘̚ȋ̵̧̛͎̩̫͉̰̋͐̄̈́͊̐̀̑͜n̷̩̻͚͇̰̝̣̠̈̀g̵̺͉̔̈́̊͒̓̃̉̚͘͜ ̶̺̳͓͕͔̱͗͆̓̐̑̚͝͝d̷̬̘͚̘̬̣̭̙̼̃̏̓̾̔̌̀̍̽r̷̛̩̮̞̜̟̐͂́͘͜ͅo̸̧̢̗̝̣͙̘̟͆̀̊̃̉͌͜͠p̵̛̻̠͍̑̅̀́̈́p̷̨̡̖̙͙̥̹̥̞̓͋̈́̽̀e̶̡̳̣̟̖͐̒̾̿̐͝d̸̖͋͆̽̃̐͝
Partially related to that: I have a tiny little headcanon about Remus creating ungodly abominations and naming them like the Great Old Ones (like having a pet abomination called Shubby as reference to Shub-Niggurath). So seeing this little ball of fears and terrors made me kinda happy. What can I say? Somehow, my headcanons are always canon.
_______________________________
Virgil's gift and the problems with it
As soon as Logan proved he wasn't happy with Virgil's gift, instead of adding something more like "But, really, read the newspaper", Virgil kept silent and let Janus and Remus push Logan with their "o-oh, I bet you're angry, get angry".
Was it a reference to WTIT? If it was, then it was a lame one.
Virgil is anxious, fine, but he's not an idiot. And he has a way with words. So, why didn't he say something to make it clearer that there was something in the newspaper? Honestly, when he handed it to Logan, I thought the newspaper was the wrap and that there was something inside it: why Logan didn't think the same? Am I more clever than the embodiment of logic himself?
And, again, why is Virgil such an asshole? Seriously, what if Logan threw the newspaper away? What would Virgil do, then? Show the gift anyway? Not show it? Tell Logan there was supposed to be a puzzle and make him feel guilty (which would've been a huge dick move, because it was Virgil's fault, not Logan's)? Honestly, no idea.
It's just... sad to see Virgil acting like an asshole without a reason. Virgil isn't like that.
_______________________________
Logan's gift and the conceptual value of money
The mere fact Roman asked what he was supposed to do with 20$ proves that:
he's a worse Creativity than Remus
he doesn't deserve money
I already explained why you can feed anything to Creativity and Creativity would find a way to use it, so the first point is already covered.
Speaking of the second one, if I give someone money and they ask me what they should do with that, I would immediately take the money back because they clearly don't know the value of money. Money embodies basically everything and 20$ embodies everything you can buy with them.
So when you gift someone money, you don't gift them a piece of paper: you gift them a paint, a book, a toolbox, a dress, a dinner, a jewel. Gifting money means gifting all the endless possibilities enclosed in the money's value.
In other words, Logan's gift was the perfect hommage to Creativity: since you are a creative force, I give you everything you can have within this value. He literally gave Roman everything! What's more fitting for a Creativity?
The only flaw I can find in this, is that Logan and Roman are not real people, but mental representations, so they don't really need actual money. But if we consider the 20$ as a conceptual gift exactly because 20$ represents the countless possibilities they embody... then they work too.
And speaking some more about gifting money, this is truly the best gift, imho. For years people kept gifting me shitty books because "you like to read". So I had to accept stupid book after stupid book, pile them up, sell them and get the money to finally buy decent books. Instead of forcing me to do this stupid charade, they could've gifted me money straight away.
So my advice is: gift people money. Or gift cards. Or at least include a receipt, so if the other person doesn't like your gift, they can exchange it for something they like more with the same value.
Or, even simpler, just ask what the other person wants. Ask, it’s easier! Your gift won't be the most surprising thing ever, but it will surely be appreciated and used. I know, I do the same with my family every year. And, every year, the gifts are always super appreciated.
_______________________________
Janus' gift and how it was the most fitting one
When I saw the smaller box inside the bigger one, I imagined three different outcomes for this:
there will be an infinite number of boxes inside other boxes and we will see Patton unwrapping them on an even smaller level until he has to unwrap them atom by atom and it will never end
in the last box there will be a wedding ring because moceit is fucking canon
in the last box there will be an actual nice gift
For a moment I really thought we would've seen a wedding ring, but it turned out Janus knows Patton better than his friends - which is not surprising, considering how they keep treating him like an idiot.
And, honestly, I don't find anything wrong with this gift. it's nice, it's funny, it comes from the heart, it's exactly what Patton likes. And it matches Janus' personality too! He appears with something big but it makes you question it, because it’s too light: you assume it's fake, he's lying, he's mocking you. But if you insist, you keep going, see "past the lie", you will find the real gift: smaller than a huge gift, but much more meaningful.
It's perfect for Janus and it's the perfect gift he could've given to Patton. Seriously, I cannot understand how Thomas manages to make the best and the worst decisions about Janus at the same time. It takes a real mastery to do that.
_______________________________
Roman's gift and fuck the main plot
Okay, the bitchslap was funny... until I remembered that we probably won't get any closure about Roman mocking Janus for his name and Janus telling him he's the evil twin. All water under the bridge, I suppose. Glad to know it ended up like this, with a snap and nothing. That’s exactly what I wanted to see, not Roman growing insane, imprisoning Janus and threatening to kill him. Definitely not.
I'm not one to brag but oh gosh, I'm so happy I wrote my own take on the season 2 finale.
About the real gift: okay, Roman gave him an actual gift. That surprises me even more considering... well, POF. But hey, apparently POF is water under the bridge and it looks like WTIT is water under the bridge as well, because Roman isn't angry with Patton anymore. Wow, *so glad* to know so many stakes have been so brutally thrown on the ground like that. Great choice, definitely worth of a good writer.
Also: is this Janus really cold-blooded? Is he? Are you, weird, drunk doppelganger? I'm sorry, but every time I see this guy, I'm so confused by him almost being like the real one, I feel like I need to question him about everything.
_______________________________
How to solve a problem without even trying
Oh, I absolutely *adore* how Logan just goes "Uh, I have a lot of data, hey Roman wanna help? You know, making creativity and logic cooperate? It's not like it's a big deal a cooperation between us".
Ah yes, that's exactly what I wanted to see. Not Logan rejecting creativity because he's unable to see how he can be useful to it, not Remus forcing him to deal with the creative aspect for a little while, not Logan pushing his love for art down to the point he breaks, not to see him breaking down, not to see him slowly learning how to accept creativity in his life and how he can be useful for it...
This is a very, very personal opinion so you can disagree with it, but I find it extremely insulting to see Logan just casually offering a collaboration to Roman. If you read FSS3 you know how long it took me to develop this concept of "logic, art and creativity" and how Logan managed to work alongside Roman and Remus only in episode 13. Episode fucking 13 of 18 total.
For me, this was a HUGE theme. One of the most important because, hey, we're talking about creativity and logic, two of the most important aspects of every human being. This is the essence of humanity. And these two characters both have a lot to learn, so their cooperation perfectly connects with their personal growth...
But hey, apparently that's not an important topic for Mr. Sanders, fuck all of this, let's solve the topic with one single line.
Again: don't like to brag but oh gosh, I'm so happy I wrote my own take on the season 2 finale and the season 3.
_______________________________
Nico is even denser than Thomas
"What's the message?". Seriously. What could the message ever be. Coming from the guy that, when you met him, told you you looked cute and wanted to have a chance with you. The same guy you gifted a necklace.
Clearly the message is "I want to play Scrabble with you on the weekends" and not "I love you, you fucking moron". Clearly.
I don't like to brag, but at least my Nico was much more clever than this idiot.
_______________________________
So... was it good?
It was. It was a good Aside. I even managed to watch it twice, which is a huge improvement compared to the previous one.
The Sides are better than before, they're more IC too - except for Janus, who has been replaced by this weird drunk doppelganger.
The message isn't stupid nor out of the world, but it actually serves a purpose in the story of the episode itself. And yes, I know this is the bare minimum in terms of writing, but considering the last episode, this is WAY better.
The writing is better too, except for a couple inconsistencies (like Roman groaning despite knowing the dark boys will join).
What suffers the most is the connection to the main plot. This Aside supposedly takes place after WTIT (and that other Aside), but as we can see, there are no stakes left. No huge resentment between the Core Sides, no huge resentment between Roman and Janus. Logan calmed as well, Virgil too.
In other words: we reached the same situation pre-Janus introduction. They're all there, they argue and work together and sometimes do stupid shit and sometimes they do not. The climax of the story has been flattened out, to revert to the initial situation.
Did I expect it to happen? Honestly, yes. After three years of nothing and with Thomas being clearly more interested in carefree/comedy videos, of course this would happen.
Do I expect to see drama in the season 2 finale? At this point, I would be surprised if we ever see a season 2 finale. Probably Thomas will wait forever for inspiration to strike and, in the meantime, feed us an endless number of Asides with funnier, carefree topics, so he can enjoy his time and constantly postpone the drama.
Drama requires more work, after all. Drama requires attention, focus, precision. Comedy can be made like this, with a fun video written in a couple days. Drama needs to connect threads and do it properly.
I said it three times already but trust me, it's a huge fucking relief to know my whole take of season 3 exists, because thanks to that, you can see want I mean, when I say things like "creativity and logic's cooperation is a huge topic" or when I talk about how Janus should be handled. My work is far from perfect, sure, but imho, it's better than this. And this is a personal opinion, so you can disagree as much as you want.
(Speaking of that, I scheduled for December 29th my last post about FSS3, in which I add a couple of things regarding the future of SaSi, so... just keep an eye out for that)
That doesn’t mean I am blaming Thomas for making this Aside or for enjoying comedy more than drama. That’s perfectly fine and he can do anything he wants. Heck, this Aside is good too, so I’m not blaming him for that.
The only thing that saddens me is to see how we casually reverted to the beginning, with no real stakes anymore. We’re just… here, enjoying a comedy show. Which is not inherently bad per se, because there are a ton of great comedy shows. But considering what we saw and what SaSi could’ve been… it leaves a bitter taste, to see such great potential being ignored to revert the show's possible growth.

hi! could I request something like dream needs reassurance in the relationship, because he sees how good you and George get along so well on streams and he can't stop himself from feeling like you don't love him anymore
Hallo, thanks for requesting!
I've been like avoiding any type of angst like the plague, because my fragile heart can't take it lmao, but this is not to bad
Hoep you enjoy <3
You & I
Tumblr media
Includes: Dream
Click Here before requesting, please ^^
Reader: GN - They/Them
He honestly couldn't help it
You and George had been friends for longer then you two had
And if he showed you no interest during those times, what makes it different now? Especially now that you're taken
But the little green emotion inside (out) his head said otherwise
I mean, how could he not be jealous George?
He was so effortlessly handsome and funny, sometimes he's a bit too loud and childish but he still knows how to treat a partner right
Who wouldn't wanna date him?
"I'm out for the day, bye."
The laughs that were currently playing in his headphones while you two talked about an inside joke were just mocking him and adding more salt to the wound
He had never left a call like that. He would usually keep the conversation going until one of them inevitably fell asleep on call and the others decided to call it a day
So you followed plan B, you showed up at his house
Your first thought was obviously to call him. But knowing Dream, whenever something is going through his mind he'll ignore everything until it inevitably goes away
Mind you it was 2AM when Dream abruptly left, so, yeah
He couldn't leave you out there in the cold. You were so stubborn when it came to him, so he knows you wouldn't just let him be
And here you two are. On the couch. You starring daggers into Dream's head in hopes of reading his mind and understanding what's going on, while Dream tried not to let his insecurity show to you because he didn't want you to think that he didn't trust you
"You're gonna tell me or...?"
"I have nothing to say. I told you, I was just tired"
"Yeah, no, we both know that's not what's happening. Spill it."
"Why can't you let it go?"
"Because you're my boyfriend and I'm obviously worried about you, idiot. You think I would drive at 2 in the f*cking morning for anyone else?!?"
Your outburst to him felt like a slap in the face. Like an alarm telling him to "wake the fuck up and not listen to his jealous side"
You were here for him. To make sure he was okay. Because you were dating him. How more obvious did this have to be?
After a moment of silence the man spilled everything out. His worries about you and George, how he felt George would've been a better partner, how you two had more history, ect.
You couldn't help but feel guilty for getting mad at him before. Maybe you should've payed more attention to Dreams feelings
But you both knew that no one was really in the wrong here. It's common for people to feel jealous of other people's closeness, especially if they have more "history" then the other. That's why it's more important to focus on making new memories
You held Dreams hand, giving him a grip of reassurance and a small smile
"You know those stupid tik toks, where you question yourself "In a room full of people, would they still choose you?". Well, I would always choose you. I don't care how long we've known eachother or how many things in common we have. Even if we were as opposites as we could be, I'd still choose you. Nothing will come between you and I, Dream. Because I'll love you always"

Hello, good morning. I wanted to ask you a few questions and congratulate you.I love the way you inform us and make us fit the actions that sometimes we wonder how it fits with it, as in the case of Alicent and Criston cole. The questions are.Is Alicent as religious in the books as they show him to be in the series?Do you think they will leave Daeron and Jahaera alive in the series after the Dance of Dragons is over? I know Aegon III is known to marry the Velaryon girl and they have a religious son but they could change that to fit and match an Alicent in the series, it would be possible that Jahaera being his granddaughter has inherited that trait and if she marries Aegon and gives him those children she may have inherited that trait to Baelor.Do you think the directors of the series will go with the book, because so far they have released two versions of Fire and Blood and there are a lot of changes. Do you think they will follow the structure but some things will change in their own way, like in Game of Thrones? What do you think will happen with Aemond and Helaena in the second season?I would like Helaena to also be involved in the war and not just be mourning, although I understand her loss.It would be nice to see her with Dreamfyre and show us that strong bond they have.
1.) Her religiousness is mentioned in passing but it's not as major a part of her character. Alicent doesn't really have a character in the book. She's fairly one dimensional, and the focus is more on Rhaenyra. The only things you know (or used to know) was that her rivalry with Rhaenyra began over Criston when they were girls. Alicent was really close with Daeron and loved him most of all her children. She had a very close and loving relationship with all her grandchildren. And that she disappears from history and no one knows what happened to her.
Everything you love about Alicent comes from the show - she doesn't have much of a character in the book. Everything about her is buried in subtext or reader speculation.
2.) I'd think it would be a welcome change for Jahaera to be left alive. I was really annoyed both the first time I went through the source material and then recently when they ended up killing her. It makes you wonder what the whole fucking point of anything was. It also sort of makes "The Dance" pointless. Even in real history "The War of the Roses" ended because the two factions united their Houses as one.
As for Daeron, I can't speak to that, because, I'd have to see how they introduce him into the show - and they got a man's job ahead of them. His character is the one that has been changed the most in the transition from one version to the other. He went from an Alpha and legendary Dragon Knight who was reluctant to wield ultimate power when it was offered to him. And his "death" was a huge tragedy and way-point in history for the Targaryens in the long run, because he was someone who would've made an excellent king and brought the realm back together. Now he's been stripped down to a sort of after thought in the new text.
Which makes sense when you know that Spotchnik and some of the writers didn't want him to be in the show, period. So, they cut his part down in the Tie-in rewrite to make him seem unimportant. I honestly don't think they were expecting to have to introduce Daeron at all. And I bet their frustration will be taken out on the character and their interpretation of him ... so I have very little faith in his adaption.
By the way, no, I don't think Daeron died in canon. There is way too many inconsistencies and assumptions used to justify a death that no one ever saw happen and that most people didn't think happened. I think that after he and Tessarion killed Vermithor to save everyone - including King's Landing - that he put Tessarion out of her misery, went to King's Landing to protect Alicent and then disappeared - probably at her behest.
I subscribe to the theory that Daeron married Lady Dayne of Starfall, which was not part of the Seven Kingdoms at the time. And that Alicent later followed him there. And that House Dayne get their purple eyes, silver hair, and pention for their daughters' names starting with an "A" from Daeron and Alicent.
3.) I know for a fact that the writers and directors are going from the original version of the story, because, they lifted a lot of stuff from it in Season 1 that is now taken out in the Tie-In edition. Also, Emily Carrey, who plays young Alicent, came out and blatantly quoted from the original version that Alicent was in love with Criston and that was what drove the ultimate wedge between her and Rhaenyra. That's not her headcanon or personal motivation for the character, that was straight from the original source material.
Plus, Martin wrote it and he's Co-Executive Producer.
4.) Well, even in the book ... Helaena was a non-combatant and was nowhere near battlefields - So I just don't see that changing. Especally now that they've put her on the spectrum.
As for Aemond and Helaena ... I don't know. A lot of time you can read tie-in material stuff as sort of portents for where they're thinking of going in shows and movies. And, because, the new "Rise of the Dragon" illustrated book blatantly goes out of its way to distance Aemond and Helaena even more - as well as Alicent and Criston. I think Season 2 is gonna break up the Green's family dynamic and make them colder to one another.
Here's my dire warning to my Alicole and Helamond brethren and sisters ...
George RR Martin not only can't write romance, but actively detests love stories in his universe in general. He doesn't believe in true love and goes out of his way to subvert it. So, if you're waiting around for this grand tormented romantic moment between Aemond/Helaena or Alicent/Criston ... it's probably not gonna happen, not on GRRM watch.
I don't think Helaena and Aemond will interact at all in Season 2. And rather than show genuine feelings, Alicent will probably try or will manipulate Criston - and show that she doesn't feel anything for him at all. That she is this jaded and empty repressed woman who will be more of a villain now.
I hope not. But just like I have low expectations for Daeron's adaption, I don't have any faith that they'll do a good job of building on the momentum of Season 1. Being a writer myself, I know the temperament of professional writers in a room - especially ones that get over praised. All the praise and accolades of Season 1 will get in their head and they'll get arrogant and up their own ass and fuck up by thinking themselves bullet proof. Immediately, right after the season finale of HOTD, the head writer is out there fighting with fans already, saying that they don't know shit.
I don't have high hopes for season 2.
The difference between HOTD and GOT is that "Fire & Blood" is not a good or coherent book - it's inferior source material in every way. The "A Song of Ice and FIre" series is dense with backstory and world building, and you have incredibly fleshed out characters that you can adapt. HOTD is behind the eight-ball because the characterizations and their development are at the whim of writers that have to make up 75% of the adaption.
For context, HOTD is only adapting roughly 30-35 pages of a 200+ page book that is filled with subtext and conflicting accounts of events.
It would be a lot to ask of a talented writer ... and they just upped Sarah Hess for another season.

"I don't think its supposed to be like this.."
he sighed and looked to the left without saying a word. Silence started to form and linger in the air between their bodies like a thick humidity despite the cold blowing from the old, humming A/C. Sitting in his lap with a ruffled shirt and firm form, her skin began to grow itchy in the stuffy atmosphere her own words created. This felt more like a dangerous tiger cage than an uncomfortable situation with a guy she wasn't sure how much she was allowed to care about. His arms sagged to his sides on the couch as he moved his gaze to catch her eye. "Look...It's gonna be weird at first, ok? that's just how its gonna feel." His sentence ended with a mumble as he chose to use his muscles to try to catch a kiss from the girl in his lap. A firm hand pushed him away, and a small huff escaped her as she moved off of his body in favor of the space beside him. "I wasn't talking about how it feels." She wasn't making eye contact, choosing instead to linger purposefully on each of the photographs across the walls. "I just think this isn't a good idea..." fingers fidgeting and leg bouncing, she whispered, "You know she only died a month ago."
At her words, he stood abruptly while she gained the nerve to stare at his stiff body in the dark light. The humming A/C felt louder, but again her words transported the pair to a cage full of danger and a history of bad decisions. As he stood, the movement was anything but silent. The couch squeaked in protest and his feet hit the floor with the force of a pouncing tiger. He didn't turn around, just stared ahead and said "You think I don't know that?" with no real bite behind it. If she really listened she would've thought it was a phrase he repeated to himself many times in the mirror. Why he said it she didn't know, and right now she didn't know either. She simply huffed again turning away and gathering her stuff. "If you know it then why are you ignoring it!" her voice trembled and raised awkwardly around each word like a shoe a size too big for her to wear. They hit her in all the softest places she couldn't really clean well, but she felt some duty to be seen in them. She wasn't so sure he would agree, they weren't her typical style anyway.
He stiffened, stuck in his awkward stance of inaction. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the hardwood, staring at it intently and not responding to her burst of courage. He looked smaller now, like a newborn cub with no mother to cling to. Bare and hairless in a cage with a keeper who had no idea how to tame him. Something about the wooden design was hypnotic, but it was probably just easier to give something small his entire focus than something big. Something big like his life that he just can't keep from fucking up. Girl. Floor. Heartbeat. Floor. Floor. Everything felt fuzzy, and he wasn't paying attention anyway. If what was happening would be on the test, he was 4 weeks behind on the homework so why even bother showing up to class anyway, right?
She left, obviously, and he just stood there in a daze. Daze is a strong word. It makes it seem like it was accidental or at least out of his control, but this was a fully conscious choice. He didn't want to be in charge of his brain, so he took a backseat instead - he thought it was easier. Maybe it was. Maybe he was making the right choice. Maybe more people should follow in his footsteps and he would win the Nobel peace prize next month when he goes viral for this new awesome life hack of completely shutting down. Or maybe the reality of the situation finally was catching up to him. But probably, maybe, it was the 10 beers from earlier. She slammed the door and yelled something about calling her later, but he was honestly too busy slowly kneeling on the cool, hardwood floor to notice.

Fern x f!reader
If there are any warnings I need to add, please let me know :)
Tumblr media
The weight of the crown on your head was too much to bear today. You gently set it down onto the grass, next to you in the shade of the giant oak trees above you.
If someone were to ask you what it's like to be a princess, you would say it's a curse. For the past 15 years you've been raised, your father was stern and barely paid any attention to you. Suffering from neglect, you slowly watched him become more and more corrupt with power, forcing the entire kingdom to stay within its walls. As far as the common people knew, the outside was a mysterious place not to be messed with.
That's what power does to people. To have all these abilities at your hands, is a great responsibility. But most rulers toss those away, like a bag of trash being disposed into the garbage can.
You sighed, gazing across to the opposite side of the clearing you were sitting in. You raised your head to look up at the sky. Oh, what I would do to have a different life...
The rustling of leaves caught your attention. You gasped, quickly backing away into the shelter of the trees. Dad can't catch me being here!
"Hey."
You froze as relief washed over you. It wasn't your father.
You weren't allowed to leave the kingdom. Finding loopholes wasn't easy, so you didn't know what you'd do if he found out.
Carefully, you stood up, squinting at the figure standing at the opposite end of the meadow. Slowly, they- or it- stepped into the sunlight. You recognized him from your past adventures. Fern the Human.
"Hi," you replied warily. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, you know," he said. "Just exploring." Fern wore the same expression he did normally, a blank set of eyes and his mouth set in a straight line.
You nodded, your eyes darting around the clearing, at anything but him. You rarely interacted with outsiders, especially since you weren't allowed outside of your kingdom. So you didn't know how to act. All your social skills started chipping away because you were forced to stay inside all the time. "Princess duties".
"I haven't seen you around here before," the grass boy remarked. "Who are you?"
"Who am I?" I repeated. That was a good question. Every single decision I've had to make and every emotion I've had was decided for me. So much so, that I wasn't sure there was any "me" left.
"I'm Y/N," you replied. Fern tilted his head.
"Where are you from?"
"Um." You struggled to find the words. He couldn't know about the kingdom, or else you would find yourself kicked out. What was even the purpose of telling him? It could only end badly. His curiosity would get the better of him, driving him him to see the kingdom for himself. Would Fern even try to save us?
Even though you wanted to rescue your people badly, the thought of them roaming around aimlessly in the Land of Ooo scared you. They barely knew anything about the outside, and the only information they did know altered their perspective to think of it in a bad light. Besides, what could Fern do to help? He's just one person.
"It's none of your business," you ended up blurting out. "I have to go." Your father wanted you home for the evening anyway. For what, he didn't say.
You turned away before you could hear Fern's reply, dashing off into the dense forest.
Taking a deep breath, you began to form an image of a raven inside your mind. Shapeshifting was still something you weren't good at. You were supposed to follow a certain set of rules as a princess, one of which being that you couldn't shapeshift into your raven form in the presence of other people. It was seen as impolite.
Focus on shapeshifting! You commanded yourself. Finally, you were able to fly, ruffling your wings a bit. You missed being able to soar.
"Wait!" Fern's voice yelled from behind you, his footsteps trodding through the layers of leaves on the forest floor. You sighed, flapping up to the tree tops and taking off. A feeling of dread gradually grew in your chest, facing the reality that you had to go back to your secluded life, with people that ignored and misunderstood you.
As the dark green leaves of the forest zoomed by beneath your feet, you began to wonder whether you should've listened to what Fern had to say. Eh, it probably wasn't important.
Directing your thoughts back to your destination, you vowed to come back to your happy place as soon as possible. It helped clear your head. Hopefully, Fern won't be there next time. The idea of talking to people made you uncomfortable. The people that you've trusted in the past have all either broken your trust, or just didn't care about you at all.
Tumblr media
There's a crown here in the bushes, Fern observed, lifting the heavy piece of gold. It was a big ring, with an arm extending upwards, holding a small, rugged black crystal. Interesting.
Turning it over in his hands, something strange caught his eye. A carving on the back of the crown. It was barely illegible, but Fern could make out one name. Y/N.
Tumblr media
"Where is your crown?" The Raven King hissed angrily. "The suitors are already here!"
"I don't know, Dad!" You frantically racked your mind, trying to remember where you had left it. A princess' crown was a part of her, as a role model and a symbol. But this time, it represented worth.
"Why are you making me marry someone I don't even know anyway?" You hurriedly glanced at your father, brows furrowed. Your father had invited a group of suitors to compete for your hand in marriage. They desired only the princess' heart, but it wasn't true love, like what you dreamed of as a child. They just wanted land, wealth, and power. Marrying you was their key to a happy life. Without your label as a princess, they would have no opportunity at all.
"You know very well why!" Your father growled. "This is going to be beneficial for the kingdom! Don't you want me to prosper?"
You started walking down the spiraling staircase that lead to the main hallways, unable to stay calm any longer. "I want the people to prosper," you replied, sending a spine-chilling glare to your father behind you. Before he could respond, you stomped away, into the main hallway where a line of antsy suitors stood waiting.
You definitely have a thing for walking out on people.
Tumblr media
"Heya, Fern!" A boy wearing a worn, dual-toned green backpack greeted Fern, holding open the door that had separated the two just moments before. "Jake just made some meatloaf! Want some? It has your favorite- I mean our favorite garnishes." Finn grinned.
"No thanks," Fern replied, distracted. His eyes wandered all around the giant treehouse that stood over him, almost menacingly. Despite what Fern wanted to think, there was something about it that made him uneasy. When he thought of the treehouse, he thought of Finn, which in turn caused him to obsess over the fact that he wasn't Finn. Then who was he?
"No probs." Finn sounded a little disappointed, but cheered up when Jake called out that the meatloaf was ready from somewhere inside the house.
"By the way, can I ask you something?" Fern asked, taking something out of his backpack, which tumbled to the ground, causing him to groan in frustration. Finn turned back to his grassy friend while taking a plate of food from the unseen Jake. "What's up?"
He gasped when he saw the golden crown gleaming in the sunlight. "That belongs to one of the princesses!" He picked it up and handed it back to Fern.
Fern nodded, stowing it in his backpack. "I found it in the forest near Tree Trunks' house. I think this girl dropped it," he said.
"Whahf girl?" Finn said, trying to chew meatloaf at the same time. "PB? Fire Princess? Slime P?"
"No." Fern shook his head. "I've never seen her before, and honestly," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "She was scared of me." He sounded frustrated, his voice trailing off.
"Dude-"
"Why doesn't anything ever work out?!" Fern said in anguish. He curled his fingers in and out of his palm, trying to release the tension trapped in his mind.
"Calm down, dude," Finn exclaimed. "I can help you find her, don't worry! I've never seen this crown before either, so we can go together." He placed a hand on Fern's shoulder, trying to comfort him.
"No!" Fern protested. "I wanna do it myself," he said, softer. "Can you just tell me how to find her?"
Finn looked taken aback for a second at his grassy friend's outburst, but nodded regardless. "You can ask the Candy People and the other kingdoms, they probably know who owns that crown." He handed Fern a map of the Land of Ooo, sketched out on a yellowed piece of paper.
Saying their goodbyes, Finn left Fern on his solo quest to find the mysterious princess.
Tumblr media
The long and chaotic day was finally over. You sank down to the floor, your back against the door to your room. You stared at the king-sized bed. I hate this. I hate everything.
After you left your father standing on the stairs, you had awkwardly walked into the main hall. But that must have been the last straw for your father, because he still didn't join you, even after five minutes. He ended up sending a replacement to accompany you after a long time of waiting. You wished that the suitors didn't keep glancing at the spot where your crown was supposed to sit while you stood with your hands clasped in front of you, staring at the doorway your father was going to follow you through.
I still have to get the crown back, you thought. Where did I leave it? The only place I would've lost it would be... Then you realized. The clearing! Of course! Oh no, I have to go there right now!
You raced over to the small window in your bedroom, peeking your head out. Seeing practically no one outside, you transformed into your raven form and hopped on the windowsill. Suddenly, an object was hurled at you from below. Looking down, you saw a small child chucking pieces of corn at you.
"Get out of there, you stupid crow!" He yelled. Close enough.
You carefully flapped your wings, flying high above the kingdom. As soon as you were out of reach, the child gave up trying to knock you out of the sky and returned to his home, resuming the quiet atmosphere the kingdom always held during evenings.
Night had almost fallen over Ooo when you finally arrived at your meadow. Landing in the spot where you had sat earlier that day, you turned back into a human and rummaged through the bushes for your long lost crown. As the minutes ticked by, you began to grow more frustrated. Where is it?! If I lose it forever, I'm done for.
"Huh?" You said out loud. Prying apart the branches of a blueberry bush, you found a few grass blades attached to the rough leaves, reminding you of Fern. You stood up. Why not just see if Fern had it? He wasn't the scavenger type, but something as mysterious as an unknown princess' crown was sure to fascinate him.
Ugh, the sun is setting. You sighed in defeat, vowing to visit Fern the next day to take back the circlet. Another day that's ending, another gloomy morning to look forward to. But this time, you had a mission to accomplish.

I feel like the song Catching Fire by Sum 41 fits Jolie's death pretty well. (The muffled lyrics are Brant singing, and the clearer ones/chorus are Grady and Edaline.)
oo this is an interesting one! especially the distinction you've made between Brant and the Ruewen's perspectives.
for Grady, the line that immediately stood out was "And all I want's another chance, I can't accept that you have left" because he blamed himself so much. Grady thought for years that it was him who got her killed and that if he'd just gone about things a little differently, then Jolie would've still been alive. if he had another chance, he could approach the Black Swan differently so they wouldn't target her. Not that they did, but it's what he thought for so long. He seemed to be the anger part of grief and Edaline was the longing aspect (not that that's all there is), so the being unable to accept that she's gone now feels like refusal, a stubborn believe that there's something he can do that will fix this if you just give him one more chance.
and I couldn't not mention this one: "You meant the world to us, I know that it's too late" that fits them so well!! Parents say that so frequently and I'm certain Edaline and Grady are no exception. Jolie meant the world to them and they'd do anything to see her happy, but now she's gone and they can't do anything for her anymore. I think this one, while it relates to both of them, might focus a little more on Edaline. I think I remember her reminiscent about Jolie's last days and saying that it was too late to give Jolie the advice she needed, so she gave it so Sophie instead. It's too late to save Jolie, to help her, but now there's Sophie and she can do something about her.
for Brant, the "But now I'm here alone / Without you by my side" feels very accurate. Because they were a couple! They were a team, a pair facing so much scorn from the world. They were by each other's side through it all, and even in the end Jolie loved Brant and thought he was misunderstood and wanted to help him. They were going to love each other through it all, I think. But now Brant's been all alone for the years since. He's had his yearly visits from the Ruewens, and he's had the Neverseen, but I've shared before how they're not canonically a family. It's fun fanon!! But not how they actually interact, which is power hunger and violent and unforgiving. Brant has had no one since Jolie, and while his actions are irredeemable the pain he's suffering from that loss is very real.
Then there's the obvious comparison between the song title being Catching Fire and Jolie having burned to death in a fire. She literally caught fire. So the title draws the listener in and created a surface level comparison and then is chock full of different pieces that relate to Jolie's story and how the people around her were affected by her life. I only picked out three lines from the whole song, but there were so many good ones! it was difficult to pick, honestly.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! You absolutely nailed it!

The Circle US Season 3: Alliances Run Deep
Tumblr media
Category: Reality TV, Competition
Overall Rating: 5/10
Synopsis:
The Circle is back with new faces (real or otherwise)!! Watch these lovable (debatable) characters compete for $100k by building relationships, forming alliances and taking each other down all while being locked in their apartment. From an MIT techie to a 52 year old southern belle, this group of Circle contestants really know how to bring the heat in competition.
[SPOILERS FROM SEASON 3 AHEAD]
Review:
WOO This is a long one! I needed some time to get my thoughts in order, and as you can tell by my rating, I have very mixed feelings about this season. First impressions are always important, especially in this literal popularity contest. It was really easy to pick out who I liked and disliked from the start, much more so than the previous two seasons. Kai, Ruksana, and Michelle were my top 3 hopefuls from the first batch of players. They are genuine souls who really wanted nothing other than to be themselves in the game. The one player that left the worst impression on me from Day 1 was Nick... I know. People are going to be mad at me for that. Nick is probably the most popular player this season among fans, but I have my reasons.
To start off, he was a computer science major from MIT. Before everyone gets mad at me for pointing that out first, I also graduated college majoring in computer science. My experience with men who are computer science majors is not great. Many I worked with (not all of course) came off as arrogant and look down at people who might not get the concepts as fast as they do. I also was a fan of Shubham who didn't need to hide the fact that he's a tech nerd. There are exceptions to what I experienced, but Nick's introduction fit that description to the T. He does a good job at hiding that level of arrogance in the Circle, but that doesn't make me want to root for him. I also wasn't a fan of his hyper fixation on the girls in the game. First there was Ashley, then Ava, then Isabella, and even when Jacki came in he was thirsting so hard.
Tumblr media
I could go on about how I don't like Nick, but that doesn't mean I don't respect his game. He did well to focus on his strong bonds and he definitely deserved to be in the top 5 because of that. He solidified a strong alliance and kept close tabs on strong players he wasn't as close to. That being said, it's the same for my girl Kai. Nick and Kai were two sides of the same coin this season. Both had strong alliances and overall great relationships with the other players. Their overwhelming popularity ended up costing them in the final rankings, as Nick and Kai ranked 5th and 4th respectively.
Before we get into the Top 3, I should probably talk about how the events led up to the dramatic finale. This season really knew how to piss me off by doing Michelle dirty like that. Granted it was Ava and Chanel who chose to be Michelle, but you can't blame them either since it was their only way to stay in the game. Unfortunately, I did find Ava and Chanel kind of annoying, so insult to injury when the real Michelle got blocked. There had been a lot of criticism against Michelle for choosing to go see the fake Michelle, but how would seeing anyone else benefit her? She lost and just wanted answers. The viewers want things to be interesting, but she just wanted to leave knowing who was behind fake Michelle. I know if I was in her position I would want to do the same thing.
Tumblr media
Ava and Chanel didn't make it far after Michelle, just as she predicted. Honestly, they weren't all that interesting aside from the whole Michelle situation anyway. It makes sense for them to be the ones out fast. The surprising player to me was Calvin. He didn't give me a good first impression. He gave me a similar vibe as Nick, but the difference between him and Nick is that Calvin wasn't as strategic as Nick. As his relationship with Kai grew, we really see how vulnerable he really let himself be at this point in the game. He took more things to heart than a lot of people in the game, but he stayed loyal to the ones he kept close. Yes he had strategy, but all he really wanted was to make it far with his friends. I was disappointed that he chose Nick for the burner profile but I was more upset that he was gone so soon.
Calvin was the one link between the alliances with Nick and with Kai. With him gone, the divide was clear as day. Nick, Ashley (Matthew), Isabella (Sophia), and Jackson (Rachel) against Kai, Ruksana, Daniel and James. The next blocking would be one that no one is happy with. Jackson/Rachel getting blocked made the most sense to me. Even with James having less time with the other players, Rachel couldn't really solidify her bond with the others, and the most crucial player she needed was Daniel. Ruksana getting blocked also made sense (much to my dismay...). Nick's biggest threat is Kai, but if he got rid of Kai, Ruksana can raise hell in the Circle. His alliance is unified against Ruksana but only because of Kai. If Kai went out this time around, Ashley and Isabella could potentially be swayed towards Ruksana. The double blocking kept the alliances balanced, but introducing Jacki tipped the balances.
Tumblr media
Jacki had the biggest disadvantage being the last person in the game. Being new was the only thing keeping her from getting blocked as soon as she moved in. The only real advantage of keeping Jacki strategically is that she is malleable. James was the first one to get a good impression on Jacki, so even if she wasn't exempt, I'm pretty sure James would've saved her. It's easy to criticize James for not fighting for Daniel since the alliances were so clear, but in the end he did have a deeper connection with Ashley/Matthew. Daniel's choice to visit Isabella/Sophia was an interesting choice. If the pattern was gonna be the same I would've assumed he would've went to James and demanded answers, but because of the attention towards Isabella being a catfish, who could blame him for wanting to find out? Their meeting ended up being really wholesome anyway. They were on opposing sides, but in the end it's every player for themselves. He got along with Sophia when they actually met and he chose to give her support (and tea).
After that blocking, Jacki's blocking doesn't seem worth mentioning because it's so obvious with James and Nick as the secret influencers and the fact that she had so little time, so let's talk about the top 5! I was honestly worried about Nick winning the whole thing until everyone gave their thoughts in the final rating. In the end, everyone's ratings were strategic because I was surprised to see Kai and Nick rated the absolute lowest out of the 5. By the final ratings, I was honestly hoping Ashley/Matthew would win. Don't get me wrong! I was still hoping that Kai would win, but the way that everyone was talking......... That win for Kai was gone.
Tumblr media
Now the most controversial part of the season: James won. Throughout his time in the Circle, he was the funny one, the one with no filter, and he genuinely left a great first impression on the other players (through to the end). However, him giving up Daniel and Jacki brought him a lot of hate from viewers, and initially I felt the same. Does him winning piss me off? No. It makes sense. I'd like to think this is my Libra moon coming out because I can understand why he made those decisions and why the other players would rate James so high. Literally, Isabella/Sophia is the only one I would imagine rating James low due to the persistent catfish suspicion and the betrayal for Daniel. Kai, Nick, and Ashley/Matthew all had positive experiences with James.
I do give this season a 5 though because it's not as wholesome as Season 1 nor is it as dramatic as Season 2. James winning was a disappointing one to many. He folded to Nick so fast and that angered a lot of viewers. It definitely wasn't what I hoped for considering I was rooting for Kai and Matthew at this point, but at the same time, I was really just hoping that Nick didn't win because of my own bias against him. Because of that, I'm fine with the end result. I wasn't excited about his win like I was about Joey in Season 1 or Deleesa in Season 2. You could feel how much love the other contestants had for the winners for their respective seasons, but with James it felt more obligatory from the others. This may be because he wasn't there in the beginning. Players like Michelle and sisters Ava and Chanel didn't even know him since they were eliminated before he came in. The season may have been too polarizing in the sense that the eliminations became predictable and disappointing. The only really satisfying thing to me was seeing Nick disappointed in the finale. Again, my bias against him is speaking here, but I could not help but laugh my ass off when he saw Sophia.
Tumblr media
To sum it all up, it was very easy to pick favorites at the start, but once Calvin left, it gets muddy from there. I still have strong opinions about certain players, but they all played a strategic game. If you say even one person wasn't strategic (with the exception of Michelle) you are lying!!!! The players that made it to the end had very understandable reasons for playing the way that they did, but doing that doesn't make everyone happy. The finale kind of proved that. In no way did I feel as excited for James to win as I did Deleesa or Joey. Honestly, the only person I would be excited for in that top 5 would be Kai. I did however find it sweet that James could finally propose to his girlfriend of 12 years. I'm not mad at how things ended, but it's definitely not my favorite.

My breath got louder and louder each second I ran. With my bento box hitting my hips, bag tossing around, and my skirt flying up, there was no way things could get any worse.
But luckily just around the corner, I spotted students climbing onto it, which made my feet run even faster.
Near late on my first day? Damn, Y/n, way to start your year.
Just then, I heard the sharp hiss of the engine, sending me faster towards the vehicle than I had been pacing myself before. But still, the driver was ignorant, obviously not caring how much I needed this. It wasn't like my parents would take me anyways.
"WAIT..! PLEASE WAIT!" I started on the side of the bus, running side to side with the wheels. After a few seconds of loud disruption, it finally stopped. The break was hard, and students inside were heard making remarks of protest.
Sure, I felt bad for the people who had to get a brake check, but I on the other hand was completely out of breath and near dead. Couldn't they spare me?
"I'm, I'm so.. I'm so sorry I.." My breath is short, and loud while I breathe in and out, trying my best to try and explain my tardiness to the driver. He simply sighs, gesturing for me to seat myself already.
While I stumbled down the aisle, I received a few weird glances from fellow students. Some familiar and some new. I couldn't tell if it was because of my reputation, or because I looked like a hot mess. Either way, it was too early in the morning for one to give a damn. And so, I seat myself next to another student, finally resting from the marathon I had just run.
I sighed, rolling my head back, and placed my fingers on my temples. 'I probably look like a mess right now.' I thought, letting out a huge sigh. Once I sat my fingers back down onto my lap, I observed more of the people I was surrounded by.
Some third years I was familiar with, a few that wouldn't dare speak to me, and some that were strangers. Other second and first years I didn't know at all; throughout high school, I thought it'd be best to stay hidden and introverted, especially if I were to become popular in the music industry. Lots of young stars still went to school, and usually got dirt easily thrown onto their title and that's exactly what I would avoid this year.
Bringing me back to reality, I capture a peek coming from the boy I was seated next to. He had fluffy gray hair and seemed just as tired as me. But the bus was so dark, I couldn't completely make out his features.
"Something wrong?" I said to him.
He jumped a little, adjusting his eyes back down to his phone. "S-sorry, I didn't mean to stare. I just- I think I know you from somewhere."
"Lots of people know me, buddy—" I lifted my head, facing him. 'Hey, this guy does pretty familiar. But there's no way I'd forget a face like his. Then again, I have the memory of an 80-year-old woman.' I think to myself, examining his features in an awkward mood.
"Wow, it is you. (Y/n), it's been quite a while!" He smiled widely, reaching a hand out to me. I only froze, too confused to comprehend the situation. "You have no idea how glad I am to see you're doing well!"
"I-Im sorry?" I question, wondering why a stranger would confront me this way. But something was off— I knew him, I just couldn't remember where from. Maybe from previous classes, or from a concert?
He turns slightly, growing a smile on his pale face. "I was trying to figure out if it was you or not, but it is! It's great to see you're better. How are you?"
"Who are you?" I ask back, a bit frightened.
"Uhm, well, I sat next to you in math class during my first year. Remember? I was a little ditzy, kind of annoying, I never shut up about volleyball..?" He asks, hoping to get a hint of nostalgia. "Come on, you've gotta recognize me, right?"
"Wait, Sugawara!" My finger jumps out, pointing to his sitting figure. "I'm sorry I couldn't recognize you! It sure has been quite a while. But I definitely remember you, now! You were one of the people who talked to me during my first year.. thanks for that. Anyways, how've you been?"
"I think that's my line, L/n." Suga pats my shoulder, then places his hand onto his lap. "You've changed so much! I've gotta know how you're doing!"
"I-I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing in your perspective, but thanks anyway. I've been doing just fine." I explain before a yawn escapes my mouth. Sure, this conversation was energetic, but I certainly wasn't.
"Again, so very sorry for being so forgetful. I don't remember much from first year, especially not anything in math, but I sure do recognize you now." I say, hoping my rudeness from before wouldn't have any effect on how he viewed me. Not that I cared, of course.
Luckily, Sugawara was forgiving that day. With a wide grin, he replies, "No need to apologize. People change drastically during high school; we're no exceptions. Although, I would've enjoyed being mutuals with you throughout most of it! I wonder why I haven't seen you around until today... I believe the last time we had talked was around the last day of first year."
"Yeah, we didn't have any classes together. If we had, I'm sure we would have stirred up a discussion. You seem very kind. " I gently smile, rubbing the nape of my neck. I tend to forget any bad memories, and the beginning of high school sure was a fat one.
"What a shame, you too seem wonderful.." He comments, gazing towards me for a split second, before reverting his focus. "A-anyways, it's a bit of a surprise I saw you here. Have you always ridden the bus? I usually take it in the mornings as well."
"I've actually just moved into this neighborhood. My parents work more hours than ever, so they decided it's best if I'm closer to school so that I can get to school and back quickly." I explain, tapping the sage green bento in my lap, before setting it on my side.
Sugawara nods, understanding the circumstances. "That makes sense. I'm sure you'll enjoy it now that you've got a friend in the neighborhood. Although, a girl like you must be quite familiar, right?"
'Is that intended to be disrespectful, or am I just tripping?' I think to myself, asking him to spell out the meaning of that remark. "I'm sorry, what? A girl like me?"
"Oh, crap! I didn't mean that to sound rude— I meant because of your band! I understand you guys are the talk around school, considering you're getting pretty popular in the field."
A sigh of relief leaves my lips, preparatory to my correction. "Oh, my band. I'm not sure I necessarily make friends, more like connections and acquaintances. Only a couple of students know about the band, and usually just the down-low ones. But enough about me, what about you, hm? I assume still volleyball obsessed."
I had obviously steered in the wrong direction with our conversation, for Suga's aura quickly altered at the mention of the sport. "Eh, I'm not as excited about it as I used to be." He says, along with a hint of dissatisfaction in his raspy voice.
"No way. What happened to cheerful Sugawara who asked me, the lamest, to join the girls' team?" I ask, hoping a bit of that childish personality was still inside the older version of Suga. The one which was taller, more masculine, more of a man than before.
"Honestly, can't tell you. 'Teams has been a mess ever since I've joined." He leans back in his seat, stretching his arms out, before placing them around his neck from behind. "We're hanging on my a very thin thread."
"Dang, that really sucks. You never know, things can always turn out better." I say, doing as he did, and resting against the leather seats.
"Yeah, of course. I guess it's pretty hard to keep going after so many fails, haha." A sad chuckle leaves his mouth, as he sighs.
"Anyway, nice talking. I'm outta take a quick power nap; I barely got sleep last night. Mind waking me up when we get to school?"
"Yeah, of course," Sugawara replies. With that, I'm left with laying music in my ears like always, and nodded off to slumber.
"Hey, sleepyhead. We're at school," I hear someone say, feeling a tap of a cold finger on my nose. Almost immediately, I shoot up from my position, standing directly above Sugawara while students leave the bus with their bags, having loud discussions of excitement. Was there anything more embarrassing than falling asleep on someone who ghosted you as a friend?
"Dear God, I'm terribly sorry." I panic, brushing down my blue skirt. "That happens on rides, it was a mistake."
"Oh, it's no big deal! Don't worry—" Suga chuckles, standing up from sitting. But before I could let him talk anymore, I started making my way towards the exit of the bus.
"Uhm, I've gotta go! Great talking, though. I'll catch you later, have a good day," I mumble, before frantically leaving the vehicle. 'What a morning.'
— K. S. Perspective
Before I could grant Y/n a polite goodbye, she'd disappeared in just a few seconds. But even so, the measly to,e I'd discussed with her was quite enjoyable. I couldn't believe how much she'd changed.
Long ago, the beginning of high school, Y/n was the type of girl you could barely see, as if she were invisible. I think the only reason I ever even noticed her was because we were seated next to each other in math class, and she immediately caught my attention. But thank goodness I had at least tried making an effort to talk to her, or else we wouldn't have had our conversation this morning. But it wasn't her fault she was so gloomy; supposedly she had lost someone close to her the year before.
Although our talk was brief, it still meant a lot to me. Especially since I was informed that she was finally happy. Looking down at the seat she used, there was a small box with a handle at the top, and a few anime stickers covering it.
'Is this what was making that loud tapping noise on the way here?' I asked myself, examining the box more. Small initials marked 'Y.L.' We're at the bottom, informing me it was Y/n's. At first, I considered handing it to our bus driver, but for the few years I've known him I learned he doesn't return lost things. And so, I leave the bus with it in my hands, ready to start my morning.
"Suga!" I hear a familiar voice call out to me. Looking up, I see my friend, Daichi, and another fellow behind him, Tanaka. The two of them jog towards me, with their scarfs unfolding in the wind. Both I had met in volleyball, and they've been my buddies ever since.
"Hey, Sugawara!" Tanaka exclaims, roughly slapping my back. The bento tosses in my hands, thankfully not spilling onto the floor. Unfortunately, he notices the box and snatches it right out of my hold. "Wow, feeling a bit girly, are we?"
I laugh in response, quickly taking it back. "It's not mine, it belongs to the person who sat next to me today. Hopefully, if I see her again I can give return it."
"Hopefully?" Daichi teases, as we all begin our walk towards the school doors. "Do you know her name?"
"Yeah, her name's Y/n. Know her?"
He lights up at the mention of their name, replying "Oh, I know her! That girl you never shut up about I in first year, correct?"
"Ha, yeah."
Tanaka doesn't understand, digging deeper into the situation. "What?! I've never known good ole' Suga to genuinely have feelings for a girl, unless it was some fling."
"I don't! I used to. There's a difference." I say, as we enter the building.
"If she rides your bus, then why don't you just give it to the driver? She'll probably go looking for it later at the end of the day. That is unless you wanna see her again.." Daichi teases me.
"You see, I would. But the bus driver is sort of a thief, and this girl has had a rough morning as it is. I just wanna be nice." I explain to him. Though a part of me did want to see her again and hope that we could talk longer than we did before.
"Sure you do," Tanaka says, patting our backs. "Listen, this is my stop. I'll catch you guys at practice?"
"Sure thing, bye." We say our farewells, and make our way towards the third-year halls. "What about you, Daichi? Got anything exciting happening this hour?"
"If stressing about volleyball counts, then yes! Most definitely.." He says, clearing his throat. "Watch, like, two people show up."
"Actually, Kiyoko informed us in the group chat that we've got at least four! That's better than last year, right?" I try my best to cheer him up, but it only made him even more nervous. I couldn't blame him. Too much was even more of a burden, but too little was a disappointment and would leave us exactly where we left off.
"It's okay, Suga. I have a lot of faith in our team. I know it's been rough lately, but as long as we try our best, we'll work this out." Daichi smiles, turning towards a separate hallway than mine. "I'm off to homeroom. See you later!"
"Yeah, see ya!" I'm left by myself, giving me more time to focus on what should happen today. - 1st, I have to go through each class and say hi to a couple of familiars, and hopefully not see anyone I've had a conflict with.
- 2nd, I had to give Y/ns bento back to them, but that could only happen if we happened to have a class with each other before, or if we had the same lunch.
- 3rd, volleyball tryouts were this afternoon. I had to make sure and represent myself as a role model, and make it clear I was vice-captain. I wanted nothing more than for the new players to feel safe.
But internally, I knew none of those plans would work out. Especially if I wasn't focused on them. Currently, all I could think about was Y/n, and how refreshing it felt to be around her again. When I was first around her was at the same time when things in my life started to fall apart, and my little crush on her made me feel better about it all. I guess you could say she was my comfort corner, even if she talked to me only once or twice during the week. And sometimes on her bad days, I would be able to at least get a laugh out of her, even if it meant making a complete fool out of myself.
All I wanted was for her not to harm herself or feel lonely, which took a quick turn towards me once the year had ended. Not only had my thing for her end, but my family soon fell apart after my mother had passed away. Of course, I still had my responsibilities like volleyball club and helping my younger sister and my father get through it. But it seemed that everyone would do their own thing, so I did the same. And for a while, I was lonely and didn't cope with the loss very well. Just like Y/n, I distanced myself.
This went on throughout my entire second year of high school, while she on the other hand started to get her life together. She started her band, made and covered a couple of songs, and finally healed from her hard year. Honestly, I didn't even really believe that she was in such a good state, but I was proven wrong today. Ultimately, she truly inspired me to pick myself up and start fresh. And now that she popped up so suddenly, I was back to square one.
'It's been a while, Y/n'
HEYYY SHAWTYYYS.
Give me notes.
SO, I've finally rewritten the first chapter of my fanfiction!! It took a while, but I did it. If you didn't know, I started this story about eight months ago, and I had no writing experience. Now that I'm reaching the climax of this story, I decided I should edit the chapter, especially since they sucked ass! Nothing much was changed, just far more detailing and extra feelings.
Overall, thanks so much for reading the first chapter. Please vote if you enjoyed it!! It helps others know that it's worth reading. And if not, no worries. Thanks anyways. I love you all so much!

Saturday night's alright for fighting (but Sundays are meant for rest) - Curious New Hobbies
Part 11!
My god this took a while to write! Special thanks to @st0rmy-w1th1n and @mysnis (hope this is your correct Tumblr) for bouncing ideas with me and @kceedraws for giving permission to use her breakdancing au as inspiration for this!

~---~
They had meant to go the arcade for their date tonight. In fact, they'd even walked in and started scoping out games to play, but alas it wasn't to be.
Within moments of arriving, who else but Damian would single Mari out and immediately tell them to leave.
And of course she protested. In response, Damian only pointed at Jon over at the pacman machine (how dare he, that's the game Marinette was searching for!) and mentioned his lack of ability to keep secrets and suddenly she turned and dragged Tim right back out the door.
Walking down the sidewalk, he side eyed her, considering the best way to start his interrogation.
"So. You trying to keep me secret then?"
"No! Of course not. Just might've forgotten to mention something like… over a month ago."
"And it involves not letting Jon know we were there?"
"Only because he's a nark who would've ruined the fun. And heaven knows Damian and I wouldn't be satisfied with a void bet."
"You made a bet about our relationship with Damian?"
"About your family," she partially corrected.
"Do I even want to know."
"Was supposed to tell you a bit ago so you wouldn't ruin the stakes, so probably not, but im telling you anyways."
Sighing with false exasperation, he gestured for her to continue.
"We have an ongoing bet over how long it'll take everyone to figure out that you and I are together and not Dami and me."
With that, she relayed all the details of their bet and his part in it, manic grin spread across her face as her gait gained a small skip to it. Tim couldn't help but shake his head at her antics, amused despite an itch in the back of his mind saying this wouldn't end well.
"Alright, I'll play along. Honestly, I think you'll both lose. Your predictions are too specific. Too many potential outlying factors."
"True, but we did give set time frames. So at least one part of the bet will absolutely be clear on who won. Plus, I find victory in the fact that Damian didn't think of that possibility. That we'd both be wrong."
"On another note, we need to find a plan b. Anything in mind?" He asked, reaching out and snagging her hand to draw her closer.
Shrugging, she looked about them, seeing if anything caught the eye. Suddenly Tim stopped, accidentally yanking her back when she kept walking. She let out a sound of protest only to see his eyes locked on the building across the way with a considering look.
The building was gray brick with no windows, however a neon purple sign to the right of the black wood door declared it "The Underground", a well known club amongst Gotham dancers and while neither were necessarily that, word had gotten around enough for both to have heard of the place before from word of mouth.
"How do you feel about checking it out?" Tim asked, a curious look about his eyes, studying her.
"I'm not opposed to the idea. Little surprised you're interested though," she commented, letting him lead the way inside.
A quick ID check and they were in, the room dark with neon tube lights flashing across different surfaces and strategic spotlights placed to bring attention to the various raised platforms. It was strange actually. The wall directly to the left of the hall they entered from held the bar on a raised level only to slide into a ground level dance floor which was normal enough, however in the opposite corner was a raised platform where different people would hop up to take advantage of the spacing to show off both freestyle and blatantly choreographed moves. Another few spotlight platforms raised up randomly in the floor, but the main focus was a rather large circular one in the center of the place, raised just enough to make it easy to see from anywhere in the place, but not so high as to block the view across the way. These places were the most lit up, allowing the anonymity to the dancers below while allotting the attention to those who choose to step up. Beyond that, there were many crevices and alcoves holding tables into the walls and a small hallway across the way presumably heading to the bathrooms. An upper balcony held only the DJ.
While Mari took in her surroundings, she felt Tim lead her out into the crowds, before turning back to her with a questioning look. Leaning in she spoke into his ear, a spark gleaning her eyes, "You've been before, haven't you?"
"A few times. It's the perfect place to destress without the nonsense of keeping an image. As long as you stay in the crowd, no one cares who you are," he replied, spinning her around before stepping in so her back pressed to his chest.  His hands ghosted down her sides to grasp her hips, starting to guide her into the beat.
For a while, they stayed like that, separating slightly and coming back together to follow different dances as the music flowed and changed around them. Turns out Tim was a surprisingly good dancer.
Cheers broke out as a new song turned over, the first beats of Bum Bum Tam Tam coming over the speakers drawing attention towards the main platform as a pair jumped up, starting to get into the beat, working around each other only to burst into perfectly synced choreography at the first breakdown, resulting in more cheers. The two dancers would break away after that into a more freestyle, only to flow back into more rehearsed moves once more.
"Wait is that," she trailed off to a groan pressed to her shoulder.
"Yeah. That's them. Didn't know they came here."
As the song came to an end and the two on the platform jumped down, they could only stare as none other than Dick and Kori unknowingly made their way towards them. Tim pulled back from Mari subconsciously, not quite comfortable being so fully on display in front of people who actually knew them. Which made exactly zero sense when considering how much they cuddled in the manor.
Finally the two spotted them, their grins widening and a new energy emerging as they rushed over.
"Timothy! Starshine! You guys are here!" Came Kori's exuberant greeting, grabbing them both up in a hug.
"Hey, Mar, Damian not like dancing enough? Had to drag Timmy out?" Dick teased.
"Dami's at the arcade with Jon. And actually, coming here was Tim's idea," she answered amicably, conforming to the rules of the bet and not correcting Dick's obvious assumptions. "That was amazing by the way. You two looked great up there!"
Tim smirked down at her, seeing through her antics, especially now that she'd let him in on the rules of her game. Doesn't mean he couldn't play into it himself, he thought as he wrapped an arm around her waist and placed his chin atop her head.
"She's a great dance partner," Tim mentioned after both Kori and Dick had thanked and waved off Mari's compliments. "Considering learning something more structured with her, myself. Maybe give you two a run for your money."
"You definitely should! I can help with figuring out a style for you two if you'd like!" Kori offered immediately as Marinette turned to look at him in excitement.
"She has to agree first. Who knows, maybe this was a fluke and Mari will never dance with me again," he sighed in defeat.
Marinette turned, practically bouncing in anticipation, "Are you kidding? I'd love to! I want to come here again too."
"Even if you don't take my help with the dancing, I can record you two so you can look back and see for any needed improvements? That's what Richard and I do," Kori further offered up, Dick jumping back in right after.
"Oh yeah, it helps immensely. Especially if you were wanting to perform it on the platforms here."
Tim and Mari met eyes, before coming to an agreement, "Yeah, we'd appreciate that actually."
"Great! We'll set up some time here soon. In the meantime, I could definitely use a drink," Dick stated, looking back towards where he'd originally been headed. Kori grabbed onto Marinette instead, leading her back into the fray of dancers.
"We should invite Stephanie next. She would make a most interesting dance partner," Kori rattled on, suggesting a girls night that Mari agreed to immediately before getting back into the music with her new dance partner of the moment, Tim and Dick rejoining them shortly after.
The night continued on this way, the four trading off between them, two not aware that it'd become a double date by this point. Eventually parting ways from the two, Tim and Mari made their way back towards his apartment, breathless and happy despite the unexpected interruptions to their night.
"How come we never end up at your place?" He asked suddenly.
"Because my apartment has become workzone number 2. Seriously, the place has essentially become a studio for my work that just so happens to have a kitchen and bedroom. Among other secrets not meant to be divulged… yet."
"Is that pertaining to the mystery of your magic."
"Perhaps."
"Mmm, whenever you're ready, I'll be happy to keep them for you. Though I can't imagine anything bigger than holding two technical gods in your pockets at all times."
"Shhh, don't let them hear you say that!"
He only chuckled, leading her into the complex and up to his penthouse. Silence overtaking them until the door had clicked shut.
"You staying the night, sweetheart?" Tim asked, toeing off his shoes and walking towards his room to get changed.
"Mm, think I might," she replied, following him in and stealing a shirt before wandering into the bathroom to get first dibs on a shower. She still found it lucky that while he might be the shortest of his brothers, she was still small enough to be buried in his clothes. Made it easier for night like these.
Finishing up, she plopped herself on his bad as he went to shower as well.
Eventually, the door reopened, Tim entering in only pajama bottoms, hair still damp and in his face. She hummed her appreciation, enjoying the view and reaching out to tug him closer.
"Is it weird how comfortable we've become in so little time?"
"Only if you're uncomfortable with it."
"I'm not."
"Good."
With the affirmation, he picked her up only to lay her out further up the bed. Stretching out at her side, he pressed kisses to her cheek and down her neck, hand trailing against exposed skin, clearly enjoying having her in his home, in his bed, in his shirt.
'Hmm, what were two raging insomniacs to do with the rest of their night?'
…
Bonus:
Not a week later, after a long discussion with Damian to ensure that Kori was not included in the bet and swearing the alien to secrecy, they asked her to film something for them. A dance they had come with that was just for them. Not anything that could be performed in a club or for anyone to see. Maybe one day they'd post it somewhere or show Dick, but for now, it was theirs alone.

The group stood silently in the basement of the Neibolt House, their eyes on the portal which still seemed to be glowing slightly from behind the closed barrier. Everything was riding on Eleven being able to open the portal and she knew that.
The pressure was enough to make her hands shake slightly as she tried to hype herself up and tell herself that she could do it. She felt something grab on to her hand and Eleven turned her head to see Wheeler standing beside her giving her a look of concern as he laced their fingers together.
"You okay?" he whispered, his head tilting slightly as he watched the girl.
Eleven nodded and squeezed her boyfriend's hand. "Yeah, I'm just a little nervous is all," she admitted.
"Hey, don't be," Wheeler immediately said. "Just think of all that you've done, El. Opening a portal should be the least of your worries. All you have to do is focus and you'll be fine. You've got this, okay?"
Eleven was silent as she stared at Wheeler for a moment before nodding her head. Wheeler gave her a small smile before leaning forward and pressing a quick kiss to her temple. Eleven squeezed his hand one last time before the boy pulled away so that Eleven could have her space.
The young girl stared at the portal before letting her eyes flicker over all of the people around her, each one of them standing there with concern written all over their face as they thought of Y/N. Eleven's eyes hesitated on Bill who gave the girl a short nod in response. Eleven nodded back before turning her attention back to the portal.
Everyone watched as she took a deep breath to calm herself before breathing out and lifting her hand up. She put all of her focus on the portal, ignoring the people around her as she focused on nothing more than opening up the wall before her.
It took a few tries but Eleven was so determined to get it open that she finally succeeded and the goo portal began to crack open. Before they knew it, the portal had opened back up, the glowing growing in intensity as the light poured out. How ironic seeing as the Upside Down was extremely dark.
Eleven let her hand drop and she felt her whole body relax once the stress was taken away. She slumped down slightly and Wheeler was quick to go to her side, taking his long sleeve and wiping away the blood from her nose as he whispered, "You did it, El. You did it!"
It was like a small weight had been lifted off of each of their shoulders now that the gate was officially open again. This time, they would make sure not to close it before everyone was out.
"So how are we going to do this?" Lucas asked. "Are we going to charge in there all at once or-?"
"We need to stick together," Bill insisted, a look of determination on his face as he gripped the crowbar in his hands, his jacket that Y/N usually wore wrapped around his frame due to her lingering scent that helped remind him what he was fighting for. "It's either all of us or none of us, so we all need to be prepared to go in there."
He let his eyes flicker over the groups and when no one objected, Bill glanced at Steve and the two boys nodded before heading towards the portal. "Come on, assholes. Let's get a move on," Steve called back over his shoulder before him and Bill began to climb through the portal.
Lucas, Max, Ben, Beverly, Mike, Dustin, and Stan were quick to follow after the two, their fear being shoved aside by their worry and determination to get Y/N back. That left Richie, Eddie, Will, Wheeler, and Eleven.
Wheeler glanced down at Eleven and gave her a small look of concern. "You okay?" he whispered, not wanting her to overdo it in case they ended up needing her.
Eleven quickly nodded. "Yeah, I'm good. Let's go get Y/N," she said, the boy nodding back in response.
The two reached for each other's hand and were about to walk through the portal when Wheeler noticed Will hesitating. Wheeler pulled back, making Eleven stop beside him in the process.
He turned to look at his friend and frowned at the sight of Will's pale face and wide eyes. Wheeler had seen that look on his face more than he would've liked, so he knew Will was freaking out, the thought of going back into the Upside Down after everything that had happened to him probably freaking him out. Wheeler sighed and made a move to go over to Will, but stopped once he saw Richie and Eddie walking over to the boy.
"Hey, you okay?" Eddie questioned, his eyes searching Will's pale face for an answer as to why Will wasn't moving.
"Uh. . .yeah. Yeah," Will muttered making the two young boys before him share a look before Richie pushed up his glasses and began to speak.
"That sounds like a load of bullshit to me. What's wrong, Byers?" Richie asked, the small amount of concern laced in his voice making Wheeler furrow his eyebrows in confusion and shock.
Will stared at Richie blankly before looking down to his shoes. "I just. . ." he fell quiet and, to Wheeler's surprise, Richie reached out and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder while Eddie went to Will's other side.
"Is this about what happened to you?" Eddie asked, his voice soft and understanding. Will silently nodded and Eddie and Richie shared a look.
Will was shaking slightly, his eyes beginning to tear up at the thought of getting trapped in that horrendous place again after everything that had happened.
"Hey," Richie whispered as he nudged the boy, his eyes staring at Will softly once he saw the fright and tears in his eyes. "It's going to be okay. We won't let anything bad happen to you. But you got to get over this fear right now or we're not going to be able to save Y/N.
"Richie's right," Eddie nodded in agreement. "Y/N told us about you before. She cared about you so much and, when you went missing, she did everything in her power to try and get you back."
"Now she needs you," Richie continued. "Y/N needs you, Will. You can't let her down."
Will's eyes flickered over Richie and Eddie's faces before he took in a deep breath and nodded his head. "Let's go," he whispered making Richie smile and clap the boy on the shoulder.
"Thatta boy," Richie said. "Seriously though, don't worry, okay? We won't let anything happen to you. We won't let that motherfucker touch you. You're going to be just fine."
Will looked to Richie and smiled at that as he lightly nodded his head. "I believe you," Will muttered. "Thanks, Richie. Thanks, Eddie."
Both boys just gave Will a smile in return before they stayed by his side and began to direct him towards the portal.
Wheeler watched the three walk through the portal with a surprised look on his face. All he could do was just stand there as he tried to process what had just happened. Had he honestly just seen Richie Tozier being nice to someone? Comforting someone? For a second, he swore he saw a glimpse of the boy Y/N always told him about.
"Are you okay?" Eleven whispered from beside the boy.
Wheeler blinked and glanced at Eleven before nodding his head. "Yeah. . .I'm coming," he said before he reached out to take her hand once again. Eleven didn't question him and merely pulled him through the portal and to the other side where the group was waiting for them in an even more rundown version of the Neibolt House.
Stan shuddered at the sight around him while Bev took a closer step to Ben, the three having not experienced anything like this before and seeing the Upside Down for the first time.
"Where. . .where are we going first?" Stan asked. "I mean, we don't even know where Y/N is. Where do we start?"
Everyone was silent for a minute before Eleven frowned and looked to the ground. "I think. . .I think I can find her," she said making the others all look to her.
"How?" Dustin questioned.
"I'm not sure. I just. . .I have a feeling," Eleven said before she began to walk forward, her gut tugging her in one direction as if she was connected to Y/N and could sense where she was. Wheeler followed right behind seeing as he was still holding her hand and the others were quick to follow Eleven up the stairs and out of the house.
They began to walk towards the woods that were a little ways away, but as soon as they had entered the dense area, Will grew pale. "Something's not right," Will muttered and only the people nearest to him—Richie, Eddie, Max, and Dustin— frowned.
"What do you mean?" Max asked.
"Do you not think it's weird that nothing has found us yet?" Will asked, his eyes scanning over the kids' faces.
The four were silent for a second before Dustin quickly shook his head, "You're thinking about it too much, Will."
"Yeah, when Bill and Y/N were down here, they weren't found for a while," Eddie pointed out. "They might just not know we are here yet."
"But what if they do?" Will questioned. "What if they haven't found us yet because they already have and are waiting to-?"
"Byers, man, you need to calm down," Richie said as he slapped the boy's shoulder. "Pennywise is a bitch and if he knew we were down here, he would be on our ass in a second. We're fine. Quit worrying."
Will bit his lip and nodded his head before watching as Richie, Eddie, and Dustin walked ahead. However, Max stayed by his side and nudged him slightly. "We're all going to be okay. You know that, right?" Max asked.
Will let his eyes flicker over to his friend before he nodded. "Yeah, of course," he said, although his tone of voice told them both that he didn't believe it. Max sighed and just patted the boy's arm before jogging over to Lucas, leaving Will alone to think by himself.
The group continued to follow Eleven through the woods and Steve couldn't help but keep an eye on Bill who looked like he might pass out from fear. He knew Bill was only afraid of losing Y/N.
Hell, Steve knew exactly what the boy was feeling. But a seventeen year old boy shouldn't have to worry about whether the girl he had a crush on was alive or not. And the matter of the fact made Steve feel sorry for the boy.
As if sensing his stare, Bill glanced over at the boy before looking to the ground and frowning. "I'm f-f-fine, you know. I don't n-n-need you watching over m-m-me like some mother h-h-hen," Bill muttered a little angrily, though Steve knew it was only out of frustration.
"I didn't say anything," Steve defended.
"But you w-w-were thinking it," Bill retorted.
Steve chuckled softly and looked down at the bat in his hands as he swung it slightly. "She's going to be okay, Bill. We're going to get her back," Steve assured him, the words making Bill visibly relax some.
Bill bit his lip and tightened his grip on the crowbar in his hands. "I-I-I just. . .I can't l-l-lose her, Steve. I j-j-just can't," Bill whispered, his voice so soft and heartbroken that it made Steve's heart ache.
Steve stared at Bill in silence for a moment before reaching out and squeezing his shoulder. "I know, kid. I know," he whispered before the two of the most important people in Y/N's life exchanged a look and a small sympathetic smile. Steve shoved Bill playfully and the boy cracked a small smile before Steve winked at him, the two then continuing on their journey through the woods side by side.
It was only when Eleven stopped suddenly that the group stopped walking for the first time in what felt like hours. But that was also the moment that they noticed Eleven's horrified face and watched as the blood literally drained from her face leaving it as white as a sheet of paper.
Bill almost didn't want to look at what Eleven was looking at, but he managed to force himself to turn his head and the sight was enough to make his breath catch in his throat.
There was Y/N, floating above them in the air with blood dripping from her body and onto the ground below. Her eyes were a solid white as they stared at nothing, her mouth opened wide as she hung limply like she was attached to a string that was holding her up.
The sight was enough to make Bill stumble back into Steve slightly who was quick to put a hand on the boy's shoulder and steady him, his own eyes not leaving the young girl floating above them.
Eleven had her hands over her mouth now and Wheeler had an arm around her while the others all stared up at their friend. "What's wrong with her?" Max asked quietly, afraid of what the answer might be.
To everyone's surprise, Stan was the one to speak up, his voice dark and angry while his face showed no other emotion than how pissed off he was. "Pennywise," Stan spat out, his teeth gritted together as he stared up at his friend.
"Stan's right."
The sudden voice that seemed to be coming from no where made the groups all jump in surprise before they turned their backs to one another and backed up into a small circle. They all began to look around, their weapons gripped in their hands so tight that their knuckles were white, but the clown was no where to be seen.
"But Y/N wanted this," It said, his voice echoing through the air and making the hair on the back of their necks stand on end. "She wanted to float like the others."
There was a pause of silence before It said, "You can join her. You can float too."
"I think the fuck not," Richie responded as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his glare more threatening than any of the ones that had ever dawned his face.
"For once, I agree with Richie," Wheeler growled.
"Oh, but it will be so much fun," It said, but his voice came out sounding like Y/N's, a small detail that made all of them falter slightly. "Don't you want to join me, guys? We can all be friends. Don't you want that?"
"Not like this," Will replied, shaking his head.
A small growl came from what seemed like no where before It began to chant, "You can float too. You can float too. You can float you! You can float too!"
Then his voice stopped all together and it got so quiet that they could all hear ringing in their ears. The group all held their weapons even tighter than before, determined looks on their faces while Y/N floated in the air above them.
"Boo."
The group all let out screams as Pennywise jumped up from the middle of their circle, each of the kids jumping away or even tripping over their feet and falling to the ground.
"Fuck!" Dustin yelled as he tripped and fell right in front of the clown. Pennywise turned to the boy with a grin and Dustin watched in horror as the clown's mouth began to open up, its face splitting open much like the creatures Dustin was used to fighting. However, before Pennywise could grab him, a metal pipe was connecting with the clown's face and Pennywise was thrown back.
Dustin looked over at Stan with wide eyes while the boy let the metal pipe fall back down to his side and went to help the boy up. Dustin was shaking as he stood up and looked at Stan with wide eyes before yelling, "Holy shit! That clown's face just opened up like a fucking demogorgon!"
No one had time to respond because Pennywise was jumping back onto his feet, his eyes glaring at the teens while drool fell from his mouth.
"Gross," Max muttered as she grimaced, but all It did was smile.
Will was the first to sense them, his whole body tending as he looked to Beverly who stood beside him. "They're coming," he whispered, his connection with the Upside Down still there even after all these years.
Beverly gave the boy a horrified look, but didn't have time to question him before the sound of leaves rustling and branches snapping filled the air. The two groups told beside each other, fear still evident in their eyes despite the fact that they were trying so hard to be brave.
Then, from the woods, came four demogorgons, all of which came rushing pass Pennywise and towards the teens. "Shit!" Richie yelled as he took the axe he had stolen from Y/N's garage and swung at a demogorgon with all his might.
Eleven was quick to take that demogorgon and toss him to the side before another one came lunging at her. However, Mike was quick and began to shoot at the creature with the gun he had brought from his farm. He only had a certain number of bullets, so he knew he had to be careful with how many he used.
It decided to lunge at the group at that moment too and before they knew it, the group had split into two as Richie, Wheeler, Stan, Eleven, Mike, Will, and Ben fought the demogorgons and Max, Dustin, Beverly, Eddie, Lucas, Bill, Steve fought Pennywise.
Richie let out what seemed to be a battle cry as he ran towards a demogorgon and hit it with the axe. The demogorgon hissed and its mouth opened up and it lunged at the boy who tried to whack it again only to trip back. The demogorgon landed right on top of Richie and opened its mouth, the sound it made making the boy shudder beneath it.
The demogorgon went in for the kill, but all Richie felt was its warm breath against his face before it was suddenly being thrown off of him by a golf club that was being swung by none other than Wheeler. The demogorgon went flying back and hit a tree before slumping to the ground.
Richie looked up at Wheeler in surprise while Wheeler, breathing heavily, let the golf club drop to his side and his eyes flicker over to the boy on the ground. It was in that moment that the hatred the two had for each other seemed to disappear and after Wheeler had helped Richie up, the two shared a look and a nod that seemed to signify that all the bad blood between them was now gone.
Richie picked his axe up and the two turned to the demogorgon which had crawled back up and was growling at the two. Richie and Wheeler just smirked before letting out identical battle cries and swinging at the demogorgon, bringing it to the ground and killing it with one final blow from Richie's axe.
With that demogorgon dead, the two joined in with the others in defeating and killing off the three other demogorgons. Eleven would use her powers to toss them aside and keep them away from the others while the other swung and shot at the demogorgons, killing them one by one.
While they worked on defeating the demogorgons, the other half of the group worked on fighting the deranged clown which kept popping up in different places and trying to change into their worst fears.
Steve had just hit It in the head with his bat when the creature began to shake and turn into one of their fears. They had already been fighting It when he had taken the form of a spider, a demogorgon, Georgie Denbrough, and Beverly's father, but none of them were prepared when It suddenly turned around to reveal the face of Y/N L/N.
The group froze, their faces falling as they stared at the girl whose face was all scratched up and had eyes full of fear and tears. "Guys, stop. I just want to go home," Y/N cried, the sound of her voice making the whole thing more believable even though they knew the person before them was really It.
Y/N's eyes flickered over them and she whispered out, "Max, Dustin, Bev, Eds, Lucas, Stevie, please." Her eyes then landed on Bill and for a moment he swore she smirked before her face was filled with utter sadness. "Bill. Bill. Please, can we just go home?" she asked, taking a few steps closer to the boy who was shaking as he stared at her with wide eyes. "I'm scared and tired," she cried before holding a shaking hand out to the boy. "Please, Bill."
Bill shook his head. "You're n-n-not. . .you're not h-h-her," he said, his eyes flickering up to the sky as he reminded himself that Y/N was floating in the air above him and was not standing before him.
"That's just the clown, guys. It is trying to mess with your minds like he has been mine," Y/N cried. "We need to leave while we still can."
"That's not her, Bill," Max shook her head as she stared at the boy desperately. It was closest to Bill, so the others couldn't do anything without putting Bill's life in danger. Bill had to be the one to break the illusion.
"Kill it, man. Y/N needs us," Dustin said.
"Don't listen to them, Bill. I'm the real Y/N. The thing floating above us is It! He's trying to trick you!" Y/N cried.
Bill shook his head. He had just seen It turn into Y/N, hadn't he? This person standing before him was not Y/N. It couldn't be. But then again, It always was messing with his mind.
"Bill!" Eddie yelled. "It's not her!"
"How could you say that, Eds? I promised you I would get you out of here and keep you safe, but now how are you returning the favor? By trying to kill me?" Y/N asked, the words hitting Eddie just right that he stumbled back and had to look down and whisper to himself that it wasn't really her.
Bill shook his head at that, knowing that Y/N would never make a jab at someone like that, especially not Eddie. This wasn't Y/N, but his Y/N needed him.
"You're n-n-not her," Bill repeated, his eyes filling with tears as he gripped his crowbar tightly. "You're the m-m-motherfucker who took her! And now you're g-g-going to pay!"
Y/N went to turn around only for her face to meet Bill's crowbar, the hit making Y/N fall back. The group watched as Y/N began to convulse on the floor before Pennywise suddenly popped up and began to run at them, screams of surprise and terror escaping their lips as they started beating up the clown.
Just behind them, Eleven was finishing off the last demogorgon by lifting it into the air and tossing it so hard against a tree that a crack could be heard. It felt lifeless lay to the ground before the already dead tree fell on top of it.
Richie, Wheeler, Stan, Eleven, Mike, Will, and Ben all shared a nod with each other before turning to join in with the fight against Pennywise. Eleven was calm as she watched the others all beat the clown up while It tried to scratch at them and change into their worst fears.
"Guys," Eleven said, causing them all to look over at her. She smirked and turned her eyes to the clown who growled at her. "I got this."
The others all nodded and took a step back, leaving Pennywise enough room to stand up and glare at Eleven. "You got this?" Pennywise asked. "You got this?" He got deadly serious before his head began to move rapidly. Then, before Eleven could blink, the face of her old Papa was in front of her.
"You don't even know what you're doing, Eleven," the face of Brenner said. "You have a wound, Eleven. A terrible wound. . .and it's festering."
The words were meant to make the girl flinch, but all Eleven did was smirk at the clown, the action making Brenner frown. Eleven then shot her hand up and Brenner went falling back against the ground so hard that Pennywise broke through and Brenner disappeared.
Eleven began to scream and blood was dripping down from her nose as she tossed It up into the air, the others all coming to stand around her as they all glared at the clown. Eleven's screams fell quiet and she squeezed her hand slightly causing the clown to squirm under the pressure as he shifted constantly between their different fears.
But none of them were afraid, so it didn't work. Their love for Y/N was all that they felt and It knew it. It grimaced and shifted back into his clown form while Eleven smirked.
"Mouthbreather."
Eleven then let out a scream and Pennywise yelled before turning into dust right before their very eyes. Eleven fell back and the others were quick to catch her as they watched the dust fall to the ground, each of them relaxing slightly as they realized the fight was over.
From the distance, howls could be heard and Dustin tensed. "It's the demodogs. We've got to go," he said. When no one made a move to go, he looked at them with wide eyes and waved his arms as he said, "Like now!"
The others all blinked out of their shock before getting onto their feet. "How do we get Y/N?" Lucas asked.
"Actually, that won't be very hard," Ben said as he pointed at Y/N who had started to float down, her body still limp as can be.
"I've got her. You guys start running, okay? We're right behind you," Steve said as he ran over to the girl with Bill by his side.
The others hesitated but did as the boy said while Bill and Steve jumped up and grabbed onto Y/N's feet. They pulled her down to the ground and she fell limply to the floor.
"Shit," Steve muttered before he struggled to pull her up. Bill helped and within a minute, they had her in Steve's arms and were running through the forest after the others, none of them noticing that the dust that was Pennywise had started to rise into the air and towards a cloud that flashed red to reveal the Mind Flayer.
The demodogs were getting close by now, their homes and the rustling of leaves sounding as if they were right behind them. "Keep going! We're almost there!" Steve yelled before the tow broke out into the open.
Max and Beverly were waving for the two by the front door of the Well house and they quickly bolted towards that direction before they ran down to the basement with the two red heads.
Everyone was pushing through the portal by the time they reached the bottom and Steve held onto Y/N tightly as he waited for everyone else to get through, his eyes flickering back towards the stairs every couple of seconds to make sure that the demodogs were not coming.
Right when he heard the demodogs breaking into the house was when Steve was finally making his way through the portal. Hands began to pull him and Y/N through before he stumbled out of the portal. Stan and Mike were quick to steady the boy while Eleven rushed to the portal and began to use her powers to close the gate.
"Come on, El! You got this!" Eddie cheered as he stood behind the girl.
"Let's go, El! Almost there!" Max exclaimed as she watched the portal start to close.
The rest of the Losers and the Party quickly joined in cheering on Eleven while Steve looked down at the girl in his arms who he realized wasn't moving.
Eleven finally managed to close the portal and everyone cheered before either high-fiving her or giving the girl a hug. The kids began to celebrate as they realized they had successfully rescued Y/N and been able to close the gate.
Bill smiled at his friends before turning to Steve who was looking at Y/N in concern as he carefully set her on the ground. Bill's smile instantly vanished once he saw Steve's eyes filling with tears as the older boy gently shook the girl and whispered, "Hey, squirt. Come on, wake up."
Bill felt the blood drain from his face as he shoved past the others and over to the girl, falling down to his knees across from Steve. Steve glanced up at Bill, but quickly looked away and tried to hide his tears, not wanting Bill to grow more upset.
Bill's eyes were glued on the girl in front of him while the others all hesitantly walked up behind him. "Why isn't she waking up?" Mike whispered, his eyes searching the faces of his friends frantically while they all shook their heads.
"Y/N?" Bill whispered softly, his head tilting to one side as he reached a hand out and placed it on the girl's arm. "H-H-Hey, you're okay now. Y-Y-You can wake up. You're s-s-safe."
When the girl didn't respond, Bill scooted a little closer and shook her gently. "Y/N?" he whispered again, his voice coming out just a little bit more desperate and concerned.
His eyes flickered up to Steve and he gave the boy a confused look. "Steve, why. . .w-w-why isn't she w-w-waking up?" Bill asked, despite knowing deep down what was happening.
Steve stared at the boy in silence before leaning down and pressing his ear to the girl's chest. He then sat up and put his fingers to her wrist only for nothing to happen.
Steve froze and took a second before finally allowing his tear filled eyes to meet Bill's. That single look was enough to make Bill's face contort in pain as he shook his head.
"No," Bill said, his head shaking as tears filled his eyes. "Sh-Sh-She can't. . .Sh-Sh-She's not. . ." Bill looked down at Y/N as a few tears fell down his cheeks. "I. . .I can't lose h-h-her. I lost my br-br-brother once. . .I c-c-can't lose anyone else. Especially Y/N."
Bill shook the girl again. "Come on, Y/N," he whispered, but when she didn't respond, the boy leaned forward and began to preform CPR.
Everyone was tearing up at this point. Eleven was leaning on Wheeler for support while Max and Beverly held onto each other's arms. Richie squeezed his eyes shut and ran his hands through his hair before muttering, "Fuck." Eddie had a hand on Richie's shoulder and Stan, Ben, and Mike all shared a saddened look while Dustin, Will, and Lucas all stared at the ground with their hands balled into fists.
Steve was silent as he watched Bill who was on the verge of a panic attack. Tears were streaming down Steve's face as he watched Bill and he let out a small sigh and reached out to put a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Kid. . ." Steve whispered, his whole body shaking as he tried to keep himself calm, but Bill just shoved Steve away and glared at him.
"No!" Bill yelled, his eyes blazing with a fire as tears streamed down his face. Bill shook his head at Steve before looking down at Y/N and letting out a small sob. "C-C-Come on, Y/N! Damnit! W-W-Wake up!" Bill cried out as he continued the CPR.
He tried for a minute longer before the reality of the situation hit him. Bill let out another sob as he leaned back, his eyes flickering to Y/N's face as he looked at her sadly and whispered, "Pl-Pl-Please. Please don't l-l-leave me."
With shaking hands, Bill moved some hair from Y/N's face before leaning down and pressing a small kiss to her lips, the tears on his cheeks falling onto Y/N's face before he pulled away. His whole body was shaking as he lifted Y/N's body and pulled her into his lap. He held her face against his chest and began to rock back and form as he cradled her close to is body, soft cries leaving his mouth as he realized he was late.
He was too late.
Everyone began to cry at that point and Steve watched Bill sadly before letting out a sob of his own as he put his hands against his eyes and muttered, "Damnit!"
But then a small gasp filled the air and everyone quickly looked up and watched as Y/N's eyes shot open, coughs falling from her mouth as she desperately gasped for air. Bill, who had been holding onto her, jumped back in surprise, scooting away from the girl as he looked at her with wide eyes filled with disbelief.
Y/N coughed for a moment more before blinking a few times and bringing her head up to look around. She was breathing heavily as she met the eyes of her friends who were all staring at her with wide eyes and tear stained faces. Y/N didn't know how she ended up back in the arms of her friends, but it didn't take much for her to know that she was safe now and that Pennywise and the Upside Down were closed off from her again.
Everyone was looking at her in surprise and she could tell by the sad looks on their face that something bad had happened. Eating to lighten the mood, Y/N frowned before asking, "Why do you all look like someone just died?"
Bill was the first to break the silence with his laugh, the tears falling from his eyes now being out of joy as he lunged forward and practically tackled the girl in a hug. Y/N let out a small yelp of surprise but as soon as Bill's familiar scent filled her senses and she felt the warmth of his arms around hers as he dug his face into the crook of her neck, she couldn't help but relax.
Y/N instantly held back onto the boy, letting out a small relief as she closed her eyes. "You came back for me," she finally managed to whisper, not even noticing all the eyes that were watching them and the smiles that were on her friends' faces.
"Always," Bill whispered back as he held onto her tighter. "Always."
It was a moment longer before Bill finally let go of her, knowing that the others wanted nothing more than to hug the girl, but even then, their eyes never left each other for longer than a few seconds at a time.
And it was in that moment, with everyone cheering and hugging Y/N while Bill just smiled lovingly at her from afar that she knew just how loved she was.
Pennywise may know a thing or two about fear, but what he didn't understand was love. And the love the two groups had for one another and for Y/N was the exact reason for his downfall.
"Okay, I love you, Y/N, and I'm loving this whole reunion thing, but we all smell and look like shit," Richie laughed, making the others all chuckle as Y/N returned to Bill's side.
Everyone's eyes flickered over to the girl and she smiled at them. "Let's get out of here then. We can clean up back at my house," she told them.
The others all nodded and began to walk out of the attic and Y/N couldn't help but notice how the groups had all seemed to mingle together. She even saw Wheeler and Richie fist bump each other before exiting the basement side by side.
Y/N smiled at the sight before she felt something wrapping around her shoulders. The girl turned to meet Bill's smiling face as he wrapped his jacket around her, the same one he had been holding on for her since she disappeared.
Y/N smiled and was quick to put the jacket on before leaning into Bill for a quick embrace. The boy smiled down at her and Y/N couldn't help but notice the sharp contrast between the way Pennywise's version of Bill had looked at her and the real Bill that looked at her right now.
The sight made her smile and Bill didn't even stop himself before he leaned forward and pressed a small kiss to the girl's temple causing Y/N to close her eyes and let out a small hum of content.
"Hey, assholes! Quit making out in the creepy house and let's go home!" Richie yelled down to them making the two chuckle.
"Shut the fuck up, Tozier!" Y/N yelled back with a laugh, the sound to Richie's own laughter following not too long after.
Y/N shook her head and glanced at Bill only to find that he was already looking at her with that goofy grin of his on his face. She smiled and reached out before gently taking his hand in her own. "Come on," she whispered.
And with that, the two teens walked up from the basement and out of the house with their friends by their side, leaving the Upside Down and Pennywise behind.

2.5: The Aftermath
Tumblr media
Henley's P.O.V
I lay curled up in Sasha's spare bedroom. I haven't left in what feels like months. Turns out I've only been here for a week. I can't feel a thing. I'm uncomfortably numb. I can't even cry anymore. It seems that my body can't spare anymore tears. Now I just stare off into space, feeling emptier than ever.
After I ran from the guys' apartment, I ended up at Sasha's. I knew that she lived in the apartment above the bar, so I grabbed the spare key and made my way up to the small apartment. Luckily she had a spare room. I didn't even have to ask if I could stay with her. She immediately asked if I wanted to stay. I felt terrible for asking her something like that, but she didn't seem to mind.
I have no idea what to do now. I'm all alone. I tried calling my parents the night I arrived. They just told me I was now disowned. I'm not apart of my family anymore. I'm abandoned. Eventually I'll call Tommy and ask if I can stay with him, but for now I'll stay here. I hate to bother him.
I just can't believe that that jackass would cheat on me like that. Does he really have his head shoved so far up his own ass that he thought I wouldn't be upset if I knew? I fucking hate him. I never want to see him again. I can't believe I ever loved him! I loved him so much I was willing to follow them to Los Angeles when they went. I'm sure Steven is upset with him.
Steven.
God, I miss him so much. He was my best friend. He was my brother! Now I'm probably never going to see him again. I don't remember the apartment's number, and I don't plan on leaving this room for a long time. I miss Steven and Bella so fucking much. Why'd everything have to go down like it did? Why'd I have to fall for Duff? Why was I so stupid?
"Henley?" Sasha's soft voice says. I feel the bed dip down beside me. "Honey, he doesn't deserve your tears."
I sit up, pulling my legs to my chest. I rest my chin on my knees. I sigh. "I'm not upset just about Duff. It's that my parents disowned me, meaning I'll never get to see Nico again. And I probably won't ever see Steven again. He was my best friend! I'm not even sure if I'll see Madeline again. I'm sure she'll be with Steven, who's bound to be around Duff." I feel the tears prick at my eyes. "I gave everything to him."
"Henley, I'm so sorry. I didn't realize what all you did for him," Sasha says, a pitying look in her grey eyes.
"I was such an idiot. None of this would've happened if my family stayed in LA. I'd still be hanging out with Athena all the time. We'd probably go visit the Crüe and bother the shit out of them. I'd be happy."
"Think of it this way," Sasha starts. "What we go through shapes us as people. It shapes how we act and our outlook on the world. Judging on what you've gone through, I've no doubt you're gonna protect yourself and not trust as easily. That's a good thing though. Just don't completely shut yourself out from the world, alright? I don't want to see you self destruct."
I smile at her words. She's like my mom, even though she's twenty-seven. I have someone I can trust in this world other than Tommy and the Bass' after all. I get on my knees and hug her tightly.
"Thank you," I whisper, feeling her arms wrap around me as well.
"Anytime, hun."
We stay silent in each other's embrace for a while longer. Without warning, she stands up, causing me to fall onto the bed.
"We need to get you out of this stuffy room," She says, standing with her hands on her hips. "Get dressed and come down to the bar. You can hang out for a little bit. I'm sure Colin and Sebastian miss your company." I groan. "Don't try to fight me on this one Henley Baxter."
I stand up, reluctantly leaving the warmth of the bed. I stretch, walking over to my closet. There's gotta be something in here. I grin as I find one of Steven's shirts that I accidentally took when I went and got my stuff. Luckily, none of them were there when I got everything. Bella was there, though. She was happy to see me.
Anyways, I slip on the oversized shirt. I grab a pair of ripped skinny jeans and my doc martins. I put everything on, and go to the bathroom. I look over my appearance. I look pretty good. Well, my body does.
I brush my teeth quickly. Ugh, I hate the taste of toothpaste. I grab my brush and run it through the tangles of my auburn hair. I look at the finished product, trying to decide if I need to straighten it or not. I decide not to since it looks fine with my natural waves.
I walk down the stairs towards the pulsing music. I open the door at the end of the stairs and end up in the madness of the dancing bodies. My eyes widen, instantly feeling uncomfortable. Normally, this would be my scene, but not tonight. Probably not for a long time.
I make my way towards the bar. I smile as I see Sasha pretty much screaming at Colin and Sebastian for messing around while they're supposed to be working. As soon as she's done scolding them, however, I see the smile that creeps onto in her lips.
I sit down on one of the stools in front of Colin. I grin. "Where can I girl get a drink around here?"
Colin turns, and his eyes widen. "Henley!"
"Hey!" I giggle as I can see how badly he wants to jump the bar to hug me. But, he knows that Sasha would chew his ass out for it.
"Sasha told us you've been holed up in her guest room for the past week. Is everything okay, darl'?" He asks.
"Let's not talk about it, alright?" I say, feeling the sadness creep back up. I shake my head and look back up at him. I grin. "Can you get me some vodka?"
"Yes, ma'am," he grins, turning around to get me my drink.
I have the urge to look over at Madeline and I's usual table, but something is telling me not to. I don't know what's making me want to look over. I give in to the curiosity.
I turn my head to see Duff, Steven, Hyde, Madeline, and two other people I don't know sitting at the table. There's a girl and a guy. The guy had rather tan skin and chocolate brown hair. The girl is a bit pale and blonde as can be. That must be the girl that he cheated on me with.
My eyes wander to Duff. His eyes are locked on me. I can see the guilt in his eyes from here. That motherfucker.
I turn my head back as I hear the clink of the glass being set on the bar. "Thanks."
"It's actually a suicide. You look like you need it," Colin says, grinning.
I smile. "Thanks, Colin."
I take a gulp of the strong drink, hesitantly standing up. I walk over to the table that used to bring me joy. This was the table that I met the guys at. This is where it all started.
I stand in front of everyone. "Hey guys," I say with a venomous smile.
"HENLEY!" Steven screams. He basically jumps over the table to engulf me in a bear hug. "I've missed you so much!"
I giggle, hugging him back. "I missed you too, Stevie."
"Where have you been?" He asks, worry filling his bright blue eyes.
"I've been here."
"You poor thing! You've been sleeping on the bar. You don't even have a bed anymore! Come back, I swear-."
"Steven, Sasha has an apartment above the bar. I've been sleeping in the guest room," I giggle.
"Oh," He says. Even in the dim lighting I can see his cheeks turn pink.
I smile at him as he goes to sit back down. I turn to the two unknown people. "I don't believe I've met you two."
The guy speaks up first. "I'm Cal."
"Nice to meet you," I say, even though my focus is purely on the bitch in front of me. "And you are?"
"Mandy, Duffy's girlfriend," She says, cuddling into him.
I feel the jealousy and hatred flare up in me. Jealousy that Duff's not mine anymore, and hatred that Duff found a slut to cheat on me with. It's obvious she's a slut by the low cut dress she's wearing. And the fact that I can see her underwear.
"You're Henley aren't you?" She continues. "Too bad he wants me more. I don't get why he was with you in the first place. You don't have anything to offer him."
"Hey-!" Stevie tries to interject.
"I'm prettier, more experience. I totally get why he'd want me more."
I feel the tears prick my eyes. "Fuck you," I say to Duff and Mandy.
I throw my drink on Duff, then turn on my heel. I run to the door to go upstairs. I run up the stairs and to the phone. I dial the only number I know by heart, and the only person that can save me.
I wait impatiently for the phone to quit dialing. I need it to quit dialing.
"Hello?" The voice says.
"Tommy?" I cry.
THE END
-----------------
A/N: I honestly don't know what to say. I've been working on this book for months, and I can't believe it's over. There will be a sequel called Lips Of An Angel. I don't know when it will be finished. Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed. Goodbye.

Tumblr media
***THIS TAKES PLACE AROUND APRIL/MAY***
i only mention that bc it’s talking about graduation and it’s july so i didn’t want people to make a big deal about it
***
"So," she told him with a big sigh on the phone when she got home from class. "I did my presentation today."
"Oh, really?" he replied, while cooking himself an omelette. It was three o'clock her time and noon in Los Angeles, where he was; so it was brunch time. "How'd it go?"
"It..was awful." She tried to force herself not to cry, because when she cries, Grayson is quick to get up and go wherever she was to comfort her. Which might be good in the moment, but she doesn't want to do that to him (anymore--this would've been the fourth time he'd done that). "Gray, I did everything my teacher told me to! I added the information I needed to, took out some stuff, and I even memorized everything! But when I got up there...I couldn't do it."
"What was your topic again?"
She recited her research question as if it were read out of a book. "How listening to music during pregnancy helps a baby's development in the womb."
"Really? That doesn't sound hard at all."
"It wasn't that my topic was hard, it was that the questions I got asked were too hard for me to answer, and how I answered questions was a big portion of my grade." she was getting a little misty-eyed. She'd been working on this project for months; she thought she'd learned just about everything there is to know about music's effects on child development. "Gray, I really thought I had it until then."
"Listen, baby. Regardless of how you think it went, I'm sure you did better. Because I've heard your presentation and you sounded like you knew exactly what you were talking about. I think it's all in your head, angel." He sighed, flipping his omelette in the pan. He liked omelettes when she made them for him when she visited, because she knew exactly what he wanted, how much of each ingredient to add, and she makes sure they're always cheesy and delicious. But when he makes them, sometimes they're a little...underdone.
"I can't focus." she put him on speakerphone and took off her top, pants, and bra, opting to wear one of his t-shirts for comfort. She has a few of them, but her favorite one to wear is the black crew neck. It's plain and simple, and it fits him like a god. But she managed to take it when she left L.A. the last time; and honestly, she took a little vile of his cologne, too, to spray on the shirt after she washes it. "It's so close to graduation, baby, and I know you're gonna call me a loser for saying this, but I can't do this anymore. I want to drop out." she groaned.
"You're a loser either way, in my opinion." he heard her laugh on the other end of the phone. And that laugh was like air to his lungs, if he's being completely honest with himself. He hadn't heard that angelic laugh in months. The last time they'd been together was when she visited him the last few days of her Winter Break--and that was in January. "But you literally graduate in a month. Shut up."
"Okaaaaaaaaaaaay." she groaned again. What she wouldn't give for his bone-crushing cuddles right about now. That's all she wants. She'd been feeling weepy and anxious and a bit sad all day, but now that she's talking to her man, she's starting to feel the heavy weight of her stress lift. "I miss you." she confessed. "I know we agreed that we wouldn't get all sappy like this but I'm wearing your shirt right now and all I smell is you."
“I miss you, too.”
She heard noise on the other end and nearly vomited at the sound. "Move your mouth away from the receiver, Gray. I can hear you chewing."
He chewed louder, his mouth hovering over the phone's microphone. "Like this?"
She hung up the phone.
***
He called her again later, at around four o'clock his time. He and his brother were outside and he was about to grill some steaks for dinner. "Hello?" he greeted into the receiver. "Baby?"
"Hey." she groggily replied. She'd fallen asleep while talking to her best friend on FaceTime and she woke up about five minutes ago. "What's up, boo?"
"Just checkin' on you. I wanted to make sure you're in better spirits than earlier."
"Yeah, I'm fine." She sat up and stumbled down the stairs and into the kitchen , finding a box of Kraft mac and cheese in the pantry to cook. "I'm just glad everything’s over with."
"I understand. I just don't want you to be all sad and mopey."
"I'm not sad and mopey only because of my presentation, I'm sad and mopey because I miss my boyfriend." she sighed. "I really don't think I can wait until my birthday to see you."
"So what do you want me to do? You want me to come there, or fly you out here?"
"It doesn't matter, honestly. I just want to see you." she stirred some salt in the pot of boiling water, then poured the noodles into the pot, turning down the heat, and shutting the lid. "Doesn't even have to be long. I just want cuddles and kisses."
"I'd be glad to give you that, and you know I would come and see you right now if I could, but I can't right now. We're filming all week this week and both of us need to be here for it."
"I'm dying without my fuckin' cuddles, man." she drained the pasta, hissing to herself when a little bit of water got on her brown hand. She cursed quietly, already assuming that Grayson knew she'd injured herself somehow--as she usually does. She put the pasta back in the pot and added butter, almond milk, and the powdered cheese, stirring it and letting it cool a bit before pouring it in a bowl next to the stove. "I wanna see your pretty face." she spoke, holding the phone to her ear and with her bowl in one hand and a bottle of sparkling water in the other.
"Hold on a second." she heard shuffling on the other end of the phone. He was making a space on his desk for his phone to sit on, but she already knew that that'd been what he was up to, because his desk is constantly cluttered with papers, receipts, pens and pencils, etc. His desk was riddled with stuff. She heard the quiet his of "ah dammit", and then she finally saw it. That gorgeous grin that makes his hazel eyes crinkle in the outer corners. "Hi, honey."
And as happy as she'd typically be to see his face on FaceTime, all she did was sob. "Hey." She grabbed her food and her drink and with cloudy vision, she guided herself to the couch to eat.
His face fell. "What's wrong? Did I catch at a bad time?"
"No." She sniffled. God, she was so emotional today. "I just...I want you."
"Oh, babe. I wish there was something I could do about that but right now my hands are completely tied."
"I just want cuddles and kisses and hugs! And I want to wear that new shirt you just bought because it looks comfy and I bet it smells good."
"Baby I promise—hold out a little bit longer and you can have whatever it is you want." He paused. "Except for that shirt.”
"Why?" She whined.
"Because I bought that shirt last week. It's still new."
"So? I want it."
"You can have every other shirt except that one. At least not for a while."
"Ugh!" She groaned. "You're the worst."
"I've been told."
She looked away from her phone that was propped up on a pillow and turned on the television, turning to a DVR recording of Botched and settling into the couch, fully accepting the fact that she had to cuddle with the pillows next to her instead of her boo. She picked up her fork, sadly poking the orange-dyed macaroni noodles and putting them in her mouth. "I don't want this anymore." She muttered to herself, catching the attention of the boy on the other end of the phone, who'd only just found something to do on his laptop to distract himself from looking at her tear-stained face.
Because if he did, he'd be at her every beck and call and give her exactly what she wanted. And he was a busy guy; he didn't have time to fly across the country to snuggle her like he has the slight habit of doing.
As much as he craved her—her body, her mind, her laugh, her smell (God, the way she smells? Absolutely intoxicating. He finds himself thinking of the inticing scent on the days when he misses her the most, and it's almost as if she infiltrates his nostrils. Ergo, causing him to miss her 1000x more.)—he cannot leave Los Angeles for at least the next week. If he leaves, then that means Ethan would be left with editing their upcoming video's footage, and that's the last thing he needs right now.
"Why not? When we texted earlier, you said you were hungry."
"Yeah. I was. But now...I don't know." She shrugged. She stopped the recording on the TV, picking her bowl back up and setting it in the microwave for if she wanted it later. Then, she trudged her way back upstairs and got in her bed. She sighed, feeling the lump in her throat form again.

Silence [Pt. 2]
Part 1, Part 2
Warnings: Unsympathetic Virgil, deception, manipulation, physical pain, bottled feelings, disguised violent threat, murder mention/joke, cursing, insults, hatred, Phonophobia [Fear of loud noises]
Ships: Loceit??? Who knows??? DLMP, other ships TBD
Prologue: It all got to be too much for Deceit sometimes. He's a flawed side, defective, useless. He isn't supposed to have these fears. He isn't supposed to flinch every time he drops something. He isn't supposed to have a panic attack when the dryer at a fast food restaurant is just a little bit too loud. It only gets worse when Virgil decides to mess with him. He thought Virgil would get better after being with the light sides. He didn't think Virgil would do anything to harm him. He couldn't hate Deceit so much that he'd hurt him, right?
--------------------
When he woke up, he almost thought it was all a dream. Well, he hoped it was. As distinct hushed whispers came into focus, he knew it wasn't. If that wasn't enough, the texture of his bed felt….wrong. He didn't want to move, he didn't want to open his eyes, he didn't want to do anything to give the impression he was awake. It made him sick just thinking about the look on their faces. He'd honestly rather spontaneously combust than have to deal with their hatred. They probably thought it was a joke, some tactic to gain their trust. That would be fine, at least they would leave it as that. Maybe it would be better that way.
Suddenly, a specific comment caught his attention. It was quiet, and he seemed to be the only one who heard it.
"You always screw things up, don't you?"
Deceit's eyes flew open, and he was sitting up in just a few seconds. He regretted it immediately. Not only had he caught the others' attention, but he was now dizzy with how fast he'd gotten up. His mind blurred and his vision gave out. His body started to sway while he held his head, waiting for it all to stop.
A hand settled firmly on his upper arm. He couldn't comprehend it until a few seconds later, but when he did, he noticed that it hurt. It burned, really. As the dizziness subsided, he was able to look up and see Virgil, Logan, Patton, and Roman all standing over him. All he could focus on, though, was Virgil's hand over his arm, barely even touching him.
Deceit had fallen back, landing on his pillow at some point in his dizziness. He hadn't felt it at all, which was weird, but then again he was really dizzy. Normally, he would've cared about the fact that he wasn't in his own room. He would've been appreciative of the attention he was getting, if it weren't for the searing pain of Virgil's hand on his arm. He was so confused. 'How is he doing that? What did I do? What is happening?'
The pain made him bite his tongue, flinching and moving around uncomfortably.
He opened his mouth to speak, and as soon as he did, Virgil pulled his hand from his arm. Deceit gloved hand went to rub his skin where the side had touched him, "Why- how did you do that?"
Virgil mocked confusion, as if he wasn't speaking to the master of deception, "What do you mean, snake face? Are you already trying to mess with us?" He glared, but to Deceit, it meant 'shut up, no one will believe you'.
Deceit just rolled his eyes, not wanting to play these games. All he wanted was to know why he wasn't in his room anymore and how the hell he got here. He looked at the others, scanning each of their faces. Patton's was concerned, ever loving and caring. Roman's expression displayed uncertainty. Logan's was calm, but his eyes. His eyes showed concern. Genuine concern.
One of the things Deceit can do is see true emotion through people's eyes. He was able to see how someone truly felt, if they showed it or not.
Even so, he thought even the others could see Logan's emotions if they tried. They were always so strong, but somehow, the others never saw them. They never saw how truly emotional Logan is. It seemed so obvious to Deceit, but the other seemed to have his emotions so covered up that the others just didn't quite notice it. It was so confusing to Deceit. How did they not see it?! He was upset and almost crying, how did no one notice?
It always baffled him how the others could be so smart, so attached to each other, and yet they couldn't notice things like Logan's body stiffening (hurt, upset, angry) or him going silent (ignored, surprised). Deceit noticed these things, yes, but Logan's eyes broke every little external wall he put up for himself. He could have a cold hard expression, but be incredibly hurt or excited.
He quickly snapped back to life when he heard Patton's voice suddenly, "Deceit, are you….are you okay? Yesterday was rough for you, I imagine." He chuckled softly, rubbing the back of his neck.
Deceit's eyes were still just slightly red from crying, and he could feel the dried tears on his face. He remembered every detail of last night and flinched, "Perfectly fine, Patton. I've been fine, last night was nothing. It was simply a burst of emotion that I obviously couldn't handle. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave before you all start hating me again. I'd rather not be here for that part." As he stood, he finally took a look at the room he was in. Obviously Patton's, with blue walls decorated with rainbows, kittens, dogs, stars, and every other happy thing you can think of. There was a wall of pictures and memories from Thomas' past. They showcased big accomplishments in their host's life, like when Thomas got an award and when he got the lead role in a school play.
The room was bright and happy, everything in it was something from Thomas' past that held value.
Patton's room and Deceit's were very very different in that aspect, despite having the same layout.
Speaking of Patton, the side frowned when he went to leave, "Wait, ki- Deceit!"
At the mention of his 'name', the deceptive side turned to look at the bubbly dad. It didn't hurt that he didn't call him 'kiddo', it didn't, it didn't, it didn't, he wasn't a kid why would it hurt- "Yes, oh so loveable Morality?"
Patton crossed his arms, "Please tell us why you were so upset. We've never seen you cry before, we're just concerned."
He didn't know what bothered him so much about that little statement, but Deceit just hissed in annoyance, "Concerned? Really? Don't even try with that. I don't do anything that important, now go do your job and stop lying to a liar. Honestly Morality, you could've called me stupid to my face and it would've been less insulting." He could taste the lie on his tongue. It was a nice, rich honey-like substance. If it wasn't for the blatant, hurtful lie he would've appreciated the taste. He craves it, and this would've been a victory if it weren't for the pain that came with it.
"Well, I care king cobra!" Roman said defensively, "I mean, come on! We're not part of a mean person, we can't completely hate you! Have a little faith in us man, we're not that terrible." The prince huffed, looking to the side like an insulted teenager.
"Yeah, we're not going to like….kill you or anything." Virgil 'agreed', and somehow, no one noticed the sarcasm except Deceit.
This just made the snake faced side uncomfortable. The way the other's eyes darkened, how Virgil's smirk looked sinister to only him. It all just made him want to throw up.
"Right, well, I'm going to be in my room. While I'm there, try to keep it down for me." Deceit asked casually before sinking out. He didn't feel comfortable anymore, and he didn't need to deal with this right now. As soon as he made it to his room, he groaned and went to go look for his hat.
Now, any other side/person would've thought Deceit's request probably had nothing to do with the reason he was distressed the previous night. However, that little statement had confirmed everything that Logan had hypothesized already. He knew why he was crying, and he knew exactly what that meant. Was he going to tell the others? No.
Now you might be thinking "why not?"
Because, put simply, the others had had enough of his explanations, lectures, and definitions. He didn't think they would understand or care about what it meant either. They would lose interest, ignore him, dismiss his information as invalid.
He really did care about Deceit. He knows more about Deceit than Deceit even knows he knows about. He knows Deceit knows more about him, too. Does he care? No. He actually quite likes how someone can see past his hard exterior.
Yes, it was hard to be the logical side. It would be harder to do his job, though, if the others hated him. Which was why he felt kind of bad for Deceit in a way. While filming SvS, he had to step in and stop the other. Not because he wanted to be rude- despite how rude it might've came off as to Deceit- but because he knew the others wouldn't listen. He knew the snake side wasn't going to get anywhere, and it was better if it was stopped before the deceptive side felt just as bad as he did when he himself was ignored. It wasn't worth it to keep going, because it would only hurt worse the longer it went on.
He made a mental note to keep the noise level to a minimum.
After a few minutes of silence, he decided enough was enough and that they were wasting time, "We all need to resume our individual work elsewhere. We are not accomplishing anything standing here except for 'effectively' wasting valuable time. If we are done here, we should disperse, as I believe we cannot properly do our part in helping Thomas without moving from this specific spot. I will leave now, and I expect everyone else, excluding Patton, to do the same. This is Patton's room, obviously, so technically he's where he needs to be. Apart from him-" He was cut off by a groan from Roman.
"Alright, alright we get it! We're leaving!" Roman said before sinking out with raised hands.
Virgil just shrugged, leaving silently with a peace sign.
After the last of the two left, Logan sighed and finally sunk out.
Back in Deceit's room, panic was starting to rise as he searched everywhere for his hat. He just couldn't find it, and he didn't have another one. He was hyperventilating as he checked the floor for the twelfth time, sweaty with fear. It had to be there. It HAD to be there. As he searched, he felt more and more vulnerable and defenseless without his hat. He was searching for hours, having destroyed his room in the process. He was crying again by the end of it, on his knees in the middle of the room. His hair was messed up, his makeup even more messed up than before. He wanted his hat so badly, it was childish. It was so so childish but he NEEDED it. It was his hat for god sake. It was one of the only things that gave him comfort, the only thing beside it being his gloves. He felt stupid, but he also felt so….exposed without that damn hat. Burn anything in his room, sure, he didn't care. The only things he ever cared about was his hat and gloves, so be it if everything else is gone. He was so annoyed, upset, anxious. All he wanted was his hat, was that too much to ask?
Back in Virgil's room, tucked discreetly into a drawer and covered by clothes, was a little black hat. Inside, hidden from the eyes of everyone, was a little embroidery of a two headed snake.

Sleepwalk
I was listening to Sleepwalk by Renee Olstead, and I had this idea.
Grump: Danny (from now on, most will be Danny. Unless you request someone else, which I will be happy to do!)
Btw! I'm this plot, Renee didn't write the lyrics. You did! She isn't even a singer in this universe. Just a heads up.
-
Y/n's POV
I can't sleep tonight. It's been a month since me and Danny broke up, but I can't help but still mourn our relationship. It was mutual, at least that's what he thinks. I would've never called it off. I was so in love with him. I still am. We told the fans, and they were pretty supportive in what we did. A lot of them were really sad, as was I. Danny is a singer just like me. I do silly songs just like him. But he encouraged me to do a cover album or a cover song. I did one album, Cover Me Up was the name. It got a lot of love, which I am very proud of.
I turn on my phone to check the time. 4:23 am. The bold numbers shine at me in front of Danny's face. I couldn't bring it to myself to change my screensaver. It's not like anyone's gonna see. I miss him a lot, every night gets harder than the last. He was my world. I've known him since senior year of high school, he was a huge part of my life. And now... That's no more. He's probably living his best life. Being Danny Sexbang and all. He probably has girls flying at his feet, throwing him their panties and offering 'the night of his life'. I understand I might be over thinking, but I can't help it. He was mine, and now he's out there doing who knows what. I let a few stray tears fall down ontou pillow. It's so lonely here at night now. I love what I do, singing, dancing, having fun. It was just so much more amazing when I had someone to share it with.
I lay my head back a stare at the ceiling. I need to distract myself, so I reach for my headphones and plug them in, looking for my Oldies playlist. I click on it and the song that comes on is Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny. Listening to the slow beat and light guitar, I cry even more. Just my luck, huh? I can't just lay here, I really should get up and something. Writing usually helps me calm down. That's when I get an idea for a song, it's a bit sad and people will know exactly who its about. But maybe that's what needs to happen. My feelings should be out there. And if something goes wrong, I'll accept the outcomes.
I pull up my pen and notebook and just start writing.
"Sleepwalk, instead of dreamin' I
Sleepwalk.
Cause' I lost you and now, what am I to do?
Can't believe that we're through.
Sleep talk. Cause' I miss you, I sleep talk.
While the memories of you wither like a soul.
Darling I was so low.
The night fills me with blame. I see your face, tears through my brain.
I know I miss you so. I still love you, drives me insane.
Sleepwalk. Every night I just sleepwalk. Please come back, and when you walk inside the door, I will sleepwalk no more."
I immediately went to my computer set up and staring out my own little version of Sleepwalk. More of like a piano and violin cover, rather than guitar and drum. Once I had it to where I wanted the beat and rhythm, I pulled up my microphone and started singing away.
Danny's POV
This morning was the worst. I couldn't sleep at all, I've been up since 3:30 am. I guess I haven't really gotten used to sleeping by myself. Without y/n's body near mine, it's hard to even get tired. I do miss her. A lot actually. I know it was my idea to call off the relationship, but I was scared of what would happen if I didn't have enough time for her. I have game grumps, starbomb, and ninja sex party. She deserves someone who has all the time in the world to give her all the attention she deserves. When we told the fans, I didn't expect them to be so sad. I even lost a handful of fans because of it. She agreed, but I knew her better. She was on the verge of tears when she left. She was trying to be strong so I wouldn't see that side of her, but I know better than that. When she left I broke down. Gripped and clawed at my hair, cried on the edge of the bed, wondering if I had made the right choice. I big-huge part of me was telling myself I didn't.
My phone buzzes, and I see its a text from Arin.
When you get here I need to show you something.
Oh what fresh hell does he have to subject my eyes to. Last time he said that, I had to watch 12 Days Of Elves... Don't ask.
I finally arrived at the Grump Space. I see everyone in their usual area. Ryan and Matt at the computers, Ross and Barry in the kitchen making coffee, and the only other people here this early is Arin and me. Everyone else usually is a little late. "Thank god you're finally here. You haven't felt your phone buzzing?" I give him a confused look. "Other than you texting me, no. You know I have notifications turned off for my social media. What's going on?" He turns on the computer in front of us. "You should hear this before anything. I promise you, it's important." I roll my eyes. "This better not be some stupid shit, Arin!" I say with a light laugh. He shook his head, and I knew from the look in his eyes that this was in fact important.
Once the computer was fully on, he went to YouTube. Looking up y/n's name, I felt my stomach turn. Did she have a new boyfriend? Was she sick? Did she die?! I understand that last one is a bit of a long shot, but I tend to over think a lot.
A video was uploaded at 7:00 am this morning? "' sleepwalk? ' isn't that an old song?" I say confused. But I'm not all that surprised. She always did love the oldies. He nods his head. "She added her own lyrics and tune to it. And I think you should hear it." I nodded and put on some earphones, pushing play on the video. Her voices comes on, and it feels so amazing to hear her voice again. Even if it is just an intro in a YouTube video.
"Hello everyone. I had this idea for a song at like 3 in the morning. I couldn't sleep, so I made this. I hope you like it..."
The video fades to black and then it shows her at her little office space she has in her room. The music starts up, and at this point I notice her eyes. They're a little red and slightly puffy. She did a good job covering it up, but I've known her since senior year. She can't hide that from me.
She sings softly yet with so much passion and emotion. The lyrics sink in, and I know why Arin wanted to hear this. Its about me. I scroll down to look at the description and comments, and they all say things along the lines of 'I fucken sad now.' 'Wow, Danny really did a number on her' 'DANNY YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS SHIT!' 'This makes me so sad because she literally couldn't sleep thinking about him... Danny get your girl back!' 'Damn that made me tear up... '
After the video ended, I look at my phone. Y/n's face still smiles at me from behind the screen. I didn't want to change it, I couldn't do it. I felt several tears hit my leg, I didn't even realize i was crying. "Hey Dan, are you okay?" Arin puts his hand on my shoulder comfortingly. "No... I'm not at all." I open up Twitter and see thousands of notifications to nsp and game grumps. All of which telling me to see what I just saw. I stood up slowly, feeling a little disappointed in myself. How could I let her walk out of my life so easily...?
Y/n's POV
After I posted the video, I decided I should really try to get some sleep. Especially since thousands of people will blow up my phone later on. Once in bed again, I tried to think of all the possibilities and outcomes of this. It could either go really well, or go really horribly bad. I guess we'll just have to see.
I wake up several hours later to my phone ringing. The sky is still a little bright to I assume it's not that late. 'Suzy <3' shines up at me. I smile, me and her always stayed quite close. "Hello?" I try to run the sleep out of my eyes. "Hey, are feeling okay? I heard your song, and I know it's about Dan. How are you, hun?"
It means a lot that she's not just calling about GET HIM BACK! She just wants to know if I'm okay. "Honestly? I feel so empty. Luckily today is just a lazy day so I don't have to adult today. But still.... I feel lost." I hear her sigh, "I know, y/n. It sucks. But you have me! And I'm way better than Danny!" She says jokingly. "Damn right you are! I'll call you a bit later when I'm more awake, okay?" We say our goodbyes and I sit up more in bed. I take a quick look at my notification bar and just as I expected, its blowin up. 'When will I stop being a pussy?' My thoughts we're interrupted by several rings of my doorbell.
Without looking through the peephole I open the door, only to see a certain curly haired man standing on my doorstep. "Danny? What are you doing here?" His eyes are glazed over and puffy as if he had just finished crying. He looked down. "I.... I heard your song. Was it... Was it about me? I'm sorry, I just need to know. I couldn't focus at all today during work. And on my way home, I just couldn't take it anymore. I have to know." My anxiety goes up a long shot. My eyes looking at everyone but him. "Y/n... I need to know." I slowly nod my head, still avoiding his eyes. "May I come in? I think we should talk.." I scoot to the side to let him in. "I'm sorry if I caused a lot of drama. I just thought... It would be better if I just made it into a song rather than.. Just telling you." I confessed. He grabbed my shoulders. "Don't be sorry, y/n. When we broke up, and you left. I broke down. I couldn't handle the fact that I just let you go.. I'm sorry."
"Then why did you do it? Why wait so fucking long to come to my house?! Why hurt me this bad, leaving me all alone when all I wanted was you! I hated knowing that YOU let me just walk out. And you looked like you... Like you didn't even give a shit..." I couldn't help it. I let all my emotions explode on him. "Why do you think I did?! Y/n, you deserve someone who has the time for you, who will give you all the attention in the world. Someone who will GIVE you the world! I want nothing more than to have you back again, but you don't deserve someone like me! I love with all my soul, hell, I'd give up everything for your dumbass! I didn't say anything till now because I thought you'd be mad, and I thought you'd moved on, hated me even!" He was standing pretty close to me by now. "Well no shit I'd be mad! You think I don't deserve you? Bullshit! You've already given me the world and more! Don't think that I don't understand about your job because I do the same fucking thing!!! I know it's hard, but I was willing to work even harder because I love you more than life itself! I deserve you just like you deserve me!" He rolled his eyes. "You're fucking gorgeous! You can have any man you want! What the hell is so special about me?" I got in his face once again, "because you are so much better than any other man I've met! We've known each other for YEARS and you think I'd just give all that up?! What kinda drugs are you on, Dan? Do you think I'm that fucken dumb? I haven't slept in weeks because it feels so horrible not having you next to me. That's some bullshit to say that I can have any man I want. I want YOU, dipshit!" I couldn't help it, I fell to my knees, shaking from trying to hold back tears. How he say that I didn't deserve him? He was my world, he still is my world. Nothing will change that.
He walks to me, and sits on the floor with me. I feel his arms wrap around me, and I lean into his chest. "I'm sorry.. I loved you more than anything. I still do. Can you please give me another chance..? Now, I won't ever think you don't deserve me. I won't think anything like that. You mean the world to me, y/n. Please don't forget that." I look up at him, seeing his eyes filled with new tears. "Well duh, how can i say no to this face?" I grab his cheeks and smush them together and laugh. "I love you too, Danny." He smiled and leaned in and gave me a much needed kiss.
