I Found Love Where It Wasn't Supposed To Be
Stu Macher x Fem Ex!Reader
Tumblr media
WARNING: ANGST, Commitment Issues
PREFACE: Reader and Stu dated during freshman year, when he seemingly dumped her out of nowhere. She moved out of Woodsboro shortly after, but returned for her Senior Year
A/N: Flashback in Italics!
Different POVs are in Colored and in Bold!
Tatum and Stu aren't together and Stu is not a killer in this A/U!
Tumblr media
YOUR P.O.V.
It's been two years since I'd left Woodsboro. I couldn't just stay there after what happened with Stu, so when my parents divorced and my mom decided to move to the City, it was the perfect escape route.
The night we broke up, he invited me over to his house and sat me down in his living room.
"Stu, I can't be out past six on a school night. My dad's gonna freak"
"Alright then, I'll make this quick" he says,
As I nod.
"We're done"
His words making my heart sink in my chest.
"What?"
"Look, you're a sweet girl and all, but, we're just too...different", he explained,
"But Stu, we've been going out for months"
I could feel the tears in my eyes begin to gather and threaten to spill.
"Yeah, but, things change and so did I", he replied apathetically,
I scoff and get off the couch.
"You are unbelievable", I snap,
Making my way back to the front door.
"No, wait!", he calls out,
Leaping from the couch and following after me.
"(Y/N), I don't want you to hate me-"
"Too fucking late, dipshit", I spit,
Opening the door and letting myself out, before slamming it behind me.
That was the last time I ever saw him. That was the last time I saw anyone from that school actually. When I moved, I lost contact with all my friends. Sidney, Tatum, Billy and Randy would reach out every now and then, but that was about it.
Eventually, during my senior year, I was forced to go back, when my mom got a job offer in London.
"Mom, can I just go with you?"
"Honey, you can't just keep running away from your problems"
I sigh, flopping down on the couch.
"And you know what? I think it'll be good for you to see your old friends", she says,
Rounding the couch and sitting beside me.
"Plus, you father misses you", she adds,
"I know", I replied reluctantly,
"Good, I'll get everything sorted out"
It was the morning of my first day back and I'd barely gotten any sleep.
I mean, how could I? Even just the thought of seeing him again sent me into a spiral of dread and worry. What was I supposed to do if I ran into him? Pretend not to remember who he was? Walk past him like I didn't notice? Yell and scream? Too many questions and not enough time to even begin processing possible answers.
Once I finished my breakfast, I bid my father goodbye and made my way to the car. Within the next ten minutes of driving through town, I reach the parking lot and got out. Even just the sight of the school building knocked the air out of my lungs.
I hesitantly picked up my backpack, locked the doors and started walking towards the main entrance.
"No fucking way", I hear a girl's voice coming from the water fountain.
I turn to see who it was and there they were. My old group of friends.
"Tatum"
"(Y/N)!", she greets,
Running up and pulling me into a tight squeeze.
"Oh my god! When the hell did you get back?", she asks,
Pulling away.
"A week ago. I moved back since my mom got a job offer in London"
"And you didn't tell me?!"
"Surprise?"
She laughs and pulls me back into another hug. Just then, I see the rest of the group approaching us. Their eyes wide like they'd just seen a ghost.
"Woah!", Randy exclaimned,
Catching my attention.
"I guess the city really does do a person good", he joked,
Looking me up and down.
"Hi, Randy", I chuckle,
Giving him a hug.
"Sid, Billy", I greet,
Pulling them into a joint embrace. All that was left was-
"(Y/N)...it's been a while"
"Yeah", I nervously exhale,
Seeing him felt like someone plunging a knife into my chest and twisting it in to make it hurt. How could he be so okay, when I was still trying to recover from what happened?
"You look great", he compliments,
As I nod. What was I supposed to say to that?
Thankfully, by the grace of some god watching over me, we heard the first bell ring.
"I should get to English Lit"
"I have the class too, come on", Sidney let me know,
"Yeah sure, see you guys at lunch", I bid goodbye,
Before giving Stu one last look.
~
I didn't what to do. I obviously wasn't over what happened, but it's far too late to do anything about it now. I should be over it.
"(Y/N)?"
And it's not like he was thinking about it either. I was more than certain of that with how he ended things. So casual and cold, but...I couldn't help but think about how he looked at me today. Maybe I was just imagining things-
"(Y/N)", Sidney pulls me out of my thoughts,
"Sorry, what?"
"I was asking you about the assignment. Are you okay? You were totally spaced out", she questions,
"I'm just a little tired. I didn't get that much sleep"
"Something on you mind?"
Well, I was still not over my ex, who so happens to be apart of our very close-knit friend group and I don't think I ever will be, which’ll probably over-complicate things later down the road...but obviously I couldn't just spew all of that on her.
"I guess I just miss my mom, you know? She's might as well be on the god-damn moon", I tried to play off,
"Yeah, I get that feeling", she says,
Causing my eyebrows to quirk in confusion.
"Oh, you didn't hear"
"Hear what?"
"My mom passed. Cancer", she says,
As her eyes begin to weld with tears.
"Sid, I'm so sorry"
"You didn't know, it's fine", she reassured,
"Wow, I really did miss a lot", I say to myself,
"Yeah, but!", she takes my hands into hers.
"You're here now! We'll make new memories"
Yeah...we.
STU'S P.O.V.
It was really weird seeing her again. Not like a bad weird, just...kinda caught me off guard.
She was just as, if not more, beautiful than I remembered. Everything from the top of her head to the soles of her feet were nothing short of perfect.
God, I really screwed that up. I knew I brought this upon myself, so I had no right to blame anyone else, but of course it still sucked. There was so much I could've said and even more I should've said, but I didn't have the guts. I mean, how could I? After what I did?
Just as I was about to start spiraling, I was hit in the face with a crumpled up piece of paper.
"Dude"
"Don't dude me, you were thinking about (Y/N)"
"I wasn't"
"Don't give me that shit, you totally were", Billy calls out my bluff,
Making me sigh to myself.
"Thought you said you ended things with her?", he emphasized,
"I did"
"So? Why the emotional blue balls, then?"
Thankfully, the lunch bell saved me from any more of Billy's harassment.
"Look, just drop it, alright? I'm fine", I played off,
Grabbing my bag and heading out, with Billy trailing close behind me.
"No, you're not fine"
"Well, if you're such an expert on how I really feel, then why don't you just spell it out for me?"
"My theory? You lied about why you ended things"
The moment he said that, I felt my heart drop to my stomach.
"Yeah, sure"
"Come on, Stu. Things were going so great and you just pulled a whole one eighty. If you ain't gonna tell me, then who will you tell?", he questions,
Just as we were about to reach the table where the gang was.
"Shhh, shut the fuck up", I warned,
Taking a seat.
YOUR P.O.V.
"So, remember the guy I was spilling about?", Tatum asked,
Taking a bite of her pizza slice.
"You mean Dave?", Sid questioned,
"I thought you were talking about Ethan", I say,
With confusion laced in my words. As we saw one of Tate's eyebrows raise, it triggered the realization to sink in.
"Nice!", I encouraged,
Causing Tate to chuckle at me. Before we could delve any deeper into Tatum's rollercoaster love life, the guys take a seat right across from us.
"Hey girls"
"Hi, Randy", we all greet in unison,
"Billy, Stu", Tate addresses on our behalf.
To call this whole interaction awkward would've been the understatement of the millennium.
I go to grab a napkin and as I did, I felt a familiar hand brush against mine. It brought me right back to freshman year, when Stu first asked me out.
I was eating lunch, while doing my assignments, when a particularly tall shadow blocks the cafeteria's light, causing me to look up.
"Hi"
"Hey, Macher, what's up?", I ask,
"Nothin much, this seat taken?"
"Um, no. Go ahead", I gesture to the empty bench across from me.
"So, we've never really spoken outside of Chem"
"We have not"
"Why is that?', he questions,
"Uh...", I wondered,
Looking around.
"I don't actually know", I chuckle nervously,
"Well, I just wanted to let you know that they're showing Return Of The Living Dead 3 on Friday and word around the hallways says you're kind of a horror movies connoisseur, so-"
"Are you asking me out on a date?", I squinted suspiciously,
"I mean, yeah", he confirmed,
"Why?"
Making him laugh to himself.
"Why not?", he questioned after calming down,
"I mean, you're cute and sweet and...you gave me the answers to the math quiz last week", he added,
As I scoffed.
"So, this is a pity ask?", I challenged.
His eyes go wide in shock.
"No no no no no, this isn't...I didn't mean to make it seem that way, I was kidding-", he rambled nervously,
Before I cut him off with a laugh.
"I'm messing with you, Macher. I know what you meant", I reassured,
Watching him sigh in relief.
"You have a twisted sense of humor"
"Oh, you don't know the half of it"
He laughs and takes my hand.
"So...whatta ya say?"
I rip my hand away, standing up.
"I need to go", I rushed,
Taking my backpack and practically sprinting out of the cafeteria.
"(Y/N)!", Tatum called out,
Going to follow me, when Stu stops her.
"I'll go"
"Stu-"
"I have to do this", he tells Billy,
Before chasing after me. I made it down the hallway, about to reach the front doors, when I hear him.
"(Y/N)!", he yells,
Causing me to stop in my tracks. It was getting harder and harder to fight against the tears that were threatening to spill.
"Can we please talk?", he pleaded,
Whilst I turned to face him.
"What do you want?"
"I came to make sure you were ok-"
"No, Stu, what do you want? From me?", I emphasized.
His eyebrows knitting in confusion as a result.
"Look, I never got to say what I wanted to back then, but I'm saying it now. You fucking hurt me", I spit bitterly,
As the tears began to stream down my face.
"Okay? You break up with me like it was nothing and what? Expected me to just be fine?"
"(Y/N)-"
"No! You don't get to talk!", I yell.
He takes a step back and keeps his eyes on the ground.
"I thought you cared about me"
"I did"
"No, you didn't"
"I did-"
"You didn't! Someone who cares about me would never fucking do that!", I sobbed,
"I'm so sorry", he whispered,
As I shake my head, angrily wiping my tears away.
"I was a coward"
"Yeah, no shit"
"Please...just...hear me out", he begged,
"And if you still want nothing to do with me after what I have to say...I'll leave you alone"
Just wanting to get this over with, I give in and cross my arms.
"I know I hurt you and for that, I'm sorry", he mumbles,
"But there's something I never told you. The reason why I did what I did"
What could he possibly say to change my mind?
"I loved you", he admitted.
It felt like my heart stopped. He'd never said those words to me before, so to hear them in past tense only added insult to injury.
"I never thought I'd feel that way about someone, so when I did, it scared the hell outta me. I didn't know what to do, so I did the only thing I knew how to. I ran", he added,
Had I known, I wouldn't have felt so blindsided.
"Why didn't you say anything?", I sniffled,
"What was I supposed to say? That I was afraid to love you?"
"Yes! God, it would've been better than just leaving me out to dry! Stu, I loved you too! We could've talked about it, we could've done something!"
My voice echoed through the hallways.
"You loved me?", his words coming out as a surprised mutter,
"So fucking much", I answered.
Just then, Tatum, Sidney, Billy and Randy came around the corner. I could see Tatum trying to make her way to me and Billy blocking her from doing so.
"And seeing you again just...reopened all those old wounds"
"(Y/N)", he says,
Cupping my face.
As hard as it was for me to admit, him holding me like this made my heart skip a beat.
"I can't change what happened...but what I can do is this"
He leans in and presses his lips against mine.
The world disappeared around us and time came to a screeching halt. Was this all just a dream? Was I gonna wake up in my bed, disappointed that none of this ever happened? Or had the weight of carrying this pain around finally crush me? I couldn't even begin to wrap my head around what was happening, much less answer all the questions I had.
He eventually pulls away and those baby blues eyes poured into mine with a new found need.
"I let you go once...I can't do that again", he whispers.

Ben Reilly x shy reader
He’ll try to make eye contact with you but you'll always look away. He’ll prob think you don't like him which makes his heart break a little...
But he still tries no matter what. Even though u might not show signs. He’ll still try.
You like him back but u just don’t know how to tell him, you’re scared of rejection.
He’ll convince Miguel to be your partner on missions. Miguel doesn’t care as long as the mission is done.
On missions, he’ll try to talk to you and have a conversation with you. He'll notice that you respond with short answers.
He’ll even suggest to take you out and eat somewhere, obv you said yes.
You want to have conversations with him but you end up not knowing what to say. it’s so hard for you to even start one.
You'll only look at him if he's not looking. Just to admire him you know? Sometimes you’ll catch yourself staring too long so you get a little embarrassed.
Bros just beautiful
He'll also do the same thing for you but also when you're not looking.
Once he's in his depressed era and you come into the room he'll snap out of it and go up to you to talk to you. Acted like nothing happened, which leave people confused until they figure it out.
So everyone will know how to shut up him up.
“Oh look there's Y/N”
“Where?”
Then they run off
It'll annoy people because you guys don't realize you like each other back but won't say anything.
Even Miles thought you guys were dating.
“You know they seem like a great couple,” he says to Gwen
Yeah, well they're not a couple” she says back to miles
“What? They're not” he says a lock of shock on his face and turns to look at Gwen.
Yeah, they seem like a couple but they're not. It's also Y/N's fault they don't notice how Ben looks at them” rolling her eyes as she watches you guys talk.
Miguel would also be annoyed by this so he'll make you be together like sitting next to each other in meetings, you and Ben being partners more often. (like every mission)
Ben would talk to you so, it's mostly him talking. You just listen.
Miguel gets tired of Ben being sad all the time so he'll bring you into the room just so he can be quiet.
Lyla, can you please call Y/N Now and hurry” annoyance in his tone.
“On it boss.”
You'll be confused about why Miguel wanted you.
Some people will try to tell you but you end up not believing them. You'll believe it once he says something. which makes people roll their eyes at you. Though you blush every time someone brings it up.
He’ll start sitting next to you when you guys are eating.
If he starts narrating to himself just let him be.
Ben will randomly flex his biceps to you, and he’ll ask if you wanted to feel them. You hesitate at first at his offer so you softly touch his biceps.
Eventually Ben would have the courage to ask you out. You didn't believe it at first but he'd explain to you that he wants to be with you, and he'll understand if you said no.
You guys are sitting somewhere up high in HQ so you guys are alone.•
“Hey I need to tell you something”
“What is it?” you said worried in your tone.
“Well before I say it, I want you to let you know if you say no can we still be friends?”
“Jesus, Ben you're worrying me. Well yeah of course we can still, be friends?” confused about what he was about to say.
“I like you, like really I do Y/N. I never really felt like this to anyone.” He says looking into your eyes. “But if you don't like me back that's okay”
You were shocked. Everyone was right you couldn't believe it you were just in denial. “W wow Ben, I didn't know that's how you felt about me” still shocked “Well I mean I like you back but I didn't think you'll like me back”
“What made you think that?”
“Well I just didn't think it was possible for you to like me back”
“I thought I made it obvious. Like come on now, I won't just let anyone touch these bad boys” he flexes his biceps.
You softly giggle at him and smile at him
“Yeah, I guess so...

A garchomp caring for a fidough reader?
How did a little Fidough like you come to befriend someone as terrifying as Garchomp?
Well, it all started when you were rescued from an aggressive pack of Maschiff, led by a Mabosstiff who accused you of trespassing on their turf. You genuinely didn't think you were intruding, and apologized profusely.
Unfortunately, they wanted to teach you a "valuable lesson", and ended up backing you into a corner.
Or rather..near the edge of a cliff.
At the time, you didn't have any fairy-type moves that could help you get out of this troubling situation. All you could do was shuffle backwards as the Maschiffs stalked closer to you, ignoring your pleas for them to leave you alone.
But just when it seemed like you were doomed...
A Garchomp suddenly swooped down, standing between you and the group of mean dog Pokémon, putting on their best Scary Face.
They ended up exposing the Mabosstiff as a Zorua, causing the whole pack to scatter. None of them dared to test a Garchomp's might.
You thanked them over and over for saving your life, only for them to snarl about how you were all making a fuss near a Gible den they were watching over--hence the reason for their intervention.
Despite this, you had no fear of the dragon/ground type and vowed to become their friend that day.
And yet...they never actually did anything to scare you off, nor did they consider flying to another part of Paldea to be rid of you forever.
You refused to leave their side, following them around like a Pawmi counting steps with its trainer.
Understandably, they got annoyed with this and insisted you left them be, saying you shouldn't get so attached to them.
What you did have, however, were baby-doll eyes that proved super effective against them when you pleaded to stay with them, as you really had nowhere else to go. And you felt in debt to them for rescuing you.
It's not that they were afraid of you for being a fairy type. If anything, it was the least of their concerns. They were far stronger than you.
Heck, you could barely hurt them with Play Rough even if you learned that.
So...they eventually gave in.
That day, Garchomp found out they're weak to fairy types both in...and outside of battles.
............
"Where are we going??"
"Into this cavern."
"What's here???"
"..my home. It will be cold tonight. So we must hurry."
"Okay!!" Wagging your round tail, your stumpy legs raced to catch up with the tall dragon Pokémon as you both entered the cave.
Garchomp could see the little Sableyes who made their home here stare at them, and then you, confusion written all over their faces.
Luckily the ghosts only had an appetite for gems, or else you'd be dessert.
They wondered what life was like for a Pokémon who so-happened to resemble human food, as they were quite common in this region. They've seen very few Fidoughs, and even fewer Daschbunds out in the wild.
Apparently this was because humans domesticated a majority of them for their yeast breath...or so Garchomp overheard.
To them, it just seemed like an abuse of your species. So they were surprised to see you didn't belong to any trainer or bakery owner.
You were still a wild Fidough trying to find your place in this big world.
Eventually, you entered Garchomp's "home": a small nest made from various clothes trainers left behind on the mountains, leaves and sticks from trees....and plenty of shiny evolution stones they've collected over the past few months.
While you were excited to see all the precious gems and trinkets, you heard grumbling noises and noticed they were getting situated in their nest, ready to doze off.
They shut their eyes, only for them to snap open seconds later upon feeling you snuggle underneath their wing. Their golden gaze was stern as they slightly lifted their arm up, confused. "What're you doing?"
"Keeping you warm!" You smiled. "You said it'll be cold tonight, right?"
"....I guess I did. Fine. You can stay there. Just don't..fidget too much." Huffing through their nostrils, they shut their eyes once more, curling up.
Although you were still overcome with excitement over successfully befriending this dragon, the trek to their den made you quite tired.
Soon enough exhaustion overcame you, too. With a small yawn, you curled up into a ball and closed your eyes.
And you drifted off to sleep alongside your new best friend, eager for whatever tomorrow may bring.

I promised I'd share the notes I had on what happened after the end of my fic We'll Build A Dynasty (one the heavens can't shake) and since today is my birthday I thought it'd make a fun treat (for you and for me :P)
Under a read more because this is LONG. And I guess it has spoilers for the fic itself too, if that matters haha.
So here we go! These are the main "questions" I left unanswered on purpose.
Does Wei Wuxian ever let his practice of the ghost path become known again?
Yep. Honestly the way I see it, the only reason the sects had a problem with it in the first place was because Wei Wuxian was the son of a servant. They never had any problem reaping the benefits of his inventions (all of which were a result of his new cultivation) so since Wei Wuxian now has the legitimacy he lacked in his first life, they might grumble about it if they’re particularly uptight but he’ll never become the reviled Yiling Patriarch.
In any case I don’t see Wei Wuxian disregarding an entire path (and the very very useful things that come with it) just because he can use his sword again. He’ll just balance both because he is that good. The ghostly path will also seem a lot less powerful since Wei Wuxian doesn’t have a good reason to raise an entire army of the dead, and the Yin Tiger Tally never was created. So that's one less difficulty to face.
(there will always be rumors of course, but he’ll never confirm them one way or another and the Wen aren’t stupid enough to let such a secret out, both because it'll draw the ire of their new sect leader and because aside from a few stubborn Elders, they're not that confident they can win a war without Wen Ruohan around)
He might even take on thoroughly vetted disciples since it’ll attract less… questionable people (I'm not actually that sure on that point, it depends on the day.)
Do Jiang Yanli and Lan Xichen get married?
Yes they do. Sorry Jin Ling. </3 (although who knows, maybe the universe is nice enough to give them a son that for some reason will end up being a little prickly for a Lan and a love for dogs!)
I'm actually not overly fond of the Jin Zixuan/Jiang Yanli pairing and I liked the idea of Jiang Yanli and Wei Wuxian actually being related through their respective marriage. I hesitated with Nie Huaisang/Jiang Yanli at first but the Jiang Yanli/Lan Xichen really grew on me as I wrote the fic haha. They’re very very cute. Lan Xichen strikes me as an even bigger simp than Jin Zixuan ended up being in canon. He WILL talk to you about his wonderful wife if you let him.
What about Nie Huaisang and Wen Qing?
I'm not actually sure about those two. Maybe they get engaged and never marry, maybe they marry but only as friends, maybe they marry and fall in love (in that order, I don’t see Wen Qing falling in love at first sight), maybe they hate each other on sight and stay far, far away from each other, maybe they like each other just fine but don't marry anyway because Nie Huaisang is a romantic and wants to love his spouse romantically or because they know they’ll drive each other crazy within days, maybe they stay engaged because neither of them is interested in marriage and this helps them get their family off their back, maybe they marry and then Nie Huaisang gets a second wife they both fall in love with and they have a really healthy and happy polycule.
As you see, there are plenty of interesting possibilities. :P
Do Wangxian still adopt A-Yuan?
Yes. I’m not cruel enough to delete both Jin Ling and A-Yuan from existence. I’m not clear on what happens to A-Yuan’s birth parents (do they still die, do they give him up or is he adopted to be raised as a heir but they still participate in raising him? I am planning an extra with him in it so I'll have to decide soon but so far I HAVE NO IDEA haha), but yes, Wangxian get their son back, don’t worry.
What happens with Su She, Jin Zixun and Jin Guangshan?
Su She still eventually defects but since he doesn’t have Jin Guangyao sponsoring him, he never manages to become someone important enough to matter in the long run. He’s extremely bitter about it, like he’s bitter about everything else.
After his thorough public humiliation, Jin Zixun fancies himself the “rival” of Wei Wuxian once again. Wei Wuxian wouldn’t care except Wen Qing is very serious about any potential threats, even minor ones so she keeps him updated. They have fun about it. He might try something anyway but Jin Guangshan isn’t dumb enough to defend him so he just digs up his own grave and he eventually offends someone enough that he dies like a loser, like in canon.
As for Jin Guangshan… He’s a very serious threat, always was, but he lacks the political power he had in canon and this time Wei Wuxian has a much better support network who isn’t as easily manipulated into betraying him so things are much better on that front. Wei Wuxian never drops his guard obviously but he’s not vengeful enough to try and start his own conspiracy to get rid of him.
(Wen Qing, on the other hand, has absolutely no qualms about whispering some ideas in a few people’s ears. And because he is still a terrible person and quite a lot of his crimes haven't been erased by the time travel, Jin Guangshan dies quietly and painfully and though no one dares point fingers, Madam Jin looks just a little bit too smug while wearing the traditional white for it to be a coincidence and the family doctor mysteriously decides to retire right after the funeral).
What about Xue Yang, Jin Guangyao, etc.?
Honestly? Don’t know, don’t care. There’s no war so Meng Yao has no opportunity to get close to either Lan Xichen or Nie Mingjue. Maybe he still manages to join a sect as an outer disciple. If they meet, Nie Huaisang hates him on sight, though he can’t tell why. Because this is a kinder univser, both Meng Yao and Xue Yang probably get the opportunity to be better than they are in canon. Do they take that chance? Up to you. I haven’t thought about anyone else’s fate sorry but you can bet they probably have a much better life this time around (or, if they already had a happy life, then they get to be happy again).
And Jiang Cheng? Does he actually grow as a person? What about his mother?
Honestly, I like to think he does. I’m not a big fan of him but I think he’s still young enough here that he might choose differently, especially after being forced to face so many hard truths. At the very least, he never becomes the man willing to participate in a genocide or the serial killer he is in canon. He and Wei Wuxian will never be close again though — like in canon, Wei Wuxian is ready to let go of that relationship. But Jiang Cheng still has his sister and his father and both of them have had a pretty big hm… Wake-up call? I suppose?
Not in a bad way or anything like that but Wei Wuxian’s defection shook them both and since neither of them die anytime soon, they’re here to push Jiang Cheng to be better. It takes time and effort but who knows, maybe he does manage it (he tries at the very least, because if there’s one thing he craves, it’s his father’s approval).
AS FOR MADAM YU... She still blames Wei Wuxian for every little thing, she thinks it's his fault that her son's self-confidence visibly decreased after the lectures (L O L), she hates with a passion the fact that Jiang Fengmian accepted to let Lan Xichen court Jiang Yanli and didn't give yet another chance to Jin Zixuan... She started as a bitter woman and a bitter woman she'll stay.
How exactly did Wei Wuxian go back in time? Why does only Lan Wangji get to remember?
Because I wanted to. I don’t have a better explanation sorry. Maybe a mischievous god (me, the author) decided Wei Wuxian deserved to get a different second chance, that other people deserved to stay alive and so they did.
As for why only Lan Wangji got to remember, the romantic explanation is that they’re soulmates. The boring explanation is that I’m really bad at writing teenage Lan Wangji so I speedran his character development.
Why do some characters find themselves trusting Wei Wuxian when they just met him?
When it comes to Wen Qing and Wen Ning, it’s because they were dead and I like the idea that the dead have no concept of time so time travel doesn’t have an effect on them. Since in the new timeline Wen Qing and Wen Ning aren’t dead yet, they only have fragments of their memories (the dead of the Burial Mounds on the other hand, never forgot their Patriarch. It’s why it took so little time for Wei Wuxian to tame them this time. I expend on that a little more in the Wei Wuxian POV but since I have no idea if I’ll ever finish it, never mind publish it… You get the short explanation here haha). It's also why Wen Chao knew it was the dead of the Burial Mounds and why he was so scared. And Nie Huaisang… Maybe he just has really, really good instincts. Or maybe the “mischievous god” isn’t actually a god at all but him scheming behind the scenes like in canon. Who knows? Certainly not me. ;)
Oh dear, this got really long haha. I hope you enjoyed these explanations. If there are other things you'd like to know, hit me up with an ask, I'd love to talk some more about this universe hahaha.

The Villain's Untold Moldings - Chapter Three
<<<prev
(Reminder: Robot doesn't have his canon design in this fanfic, he has the more human design made by @taxlthomas / @itsalldownhillfromherehoney so I highly advise that you go take a look at their design of him before reading any of the chapter's of this fanfic. If needed, I'll happily tag you in their art if you can't find what I'm referring to.)
Memory log 3,693 - Date: Oct. 19, 2015 - Time: 00:42
Romeo was in middle of setting up another machine as I overheard the Pj Masks make a plan as to stop him. Honestly, I see a very easy way as to how they could stop him. The machine he is currently working is simply just to transfer all the power from the city to another device which would trap the city in a dome, and effectively making it his. The device for the dome is practically indestructible, but if they destroy the part that causes the transfer, not only would it completely put the plan to a hault, but it may also destroy the machine that creates the dome as well. From the looks of it, only Gecko recognizes this, and is trying to tell the others.
"Guys, look!" He whispered to them, pointing at the transfer. "We don't need to focus on the big machine just yet, we need to focus on-"
"Hush Gecko, we're trying to come up with a plan." Catboy cut him off, speaking sternly yet quietly.
Gecko had a shocked look, but simply stayed quiet for the time being.
"Maybe we can unplug it! Then the dome can't be built!" Owlette spoke up excitedly.
Gecko gave her a confused look before softly speaking up. "Um, actually, it doesn't have a plug, it has a-"
"That's an amazing idea! Let's do it!" Catboy told her, cutting Gecko off once again.
As both Catboy and Owlette dashed towards the machine, Gecko let out a tired sigh before following behind them reluctantly. This goes on for around an hour more, where Gecko tries to tell his teammates this vital information that's definitely needed yet they instead ignore him. This isn't the first time that I've seen this routine happen, and I doubt that it'll be the last time for a while. They have gotten better at listening to him from what I have seen, but it's still obvious that they don't listen to him as often as they should.
After a while, Romeo eventually captures both Catboy and Owlette as they had gotten ahead of themselves again. Gecko is hiding from Romeo's vision, yet I can see him still. He looks... tired. Tired and frustrated.
"Let us go, Romeo!" Owlette cried out.
"Unhand us this instant!" Catboy growled at him, trying to escape.
Romeo let out a teasing laugh before speaking. "Oooh, but why? You both are much less annoying when you're like this! It's so nice!"
The two continued to bicker at him and even at one another, with Romeo taunting them about how he's going to take over the world and there's nothing they can do about it and they demanded for him to let them go. Out of the corner of my robotic eye, I see something green moving towards Romeo's machines. I turned and saw that it was Gecko, who is at this point ignoring his teammates, I'm guessing because he knows that they aren't in any danger at this time.
"Hold on, what are you doing-" I say to him, walking towards him as to stop him from presumably destroying it.
He quickly shot his head in my direction and spoke in an annoyed tone. "Something that I have been trying to tell my friends that we should do for the past hour."
I froze as he spoke and as I saw his face, and more importantly, his eyes. His body language, his voice, his determination, it all read off as angry and frustrated with everything, but his eyes.. his eyes show deep sadness and tiredness, just wanting to be listened to for once and not be ignored by the others. A look that I'm all too familiar with because of Romeo.
I could only bring myself to look down at him as he turned back towards the machines and continues walking. Quickly, he made it to the part that transfer's the power for the dome and grabbed it.
Holding up the part with one hand using his Gecko super strength, he turned towards the three who are still talking and whistled loudly towards them. They all looked at him, with his team looking confused while Romeo went wide eyed, realizing what he was planning.
"WAIT, DON'T-" Romeo cried out, reaching his arms towards Gecko, ready to run at him.
*CRASH*
Gecko threw it directly below him with all his strength, the gears, bolts and nuts flying everywhere. The power to the city was temporarily cut off, as the part was connected to it, but it only lasted a second, basically having it only seem like something minor. With it also being connected to the machine that was in middle of forming the dome, not only did the dome dissipate, the machine also started making noises that were clearly not something that was good. Gecko gave Romeo an apologizing glance before looking at his teammates. By the looks of their faces, they could definitely see that he was angry with them, but even underneath his rage, I could see that he is just trying not to cry in front of his friends.
*WARNING: UNCONTROLLED FIRE IN AREA*
The machine, from the inside, had caught on fire. This, after not being able to move out of shock, caused me to grab Romeo and start running away from the area, trying to not get him hurt incase of an explosion.
"ROBOT, WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP HIM FROM DESTROYING IT?! YOU WERE RIGHT THERE!" Romeo yelled, slamming his fists into my metal shoulders. This was something he did often when he's upset, considering that it couldn't hurt or damage me.
"Sorry, Master. Something else had caught my attention before I could."
Memory log 3,698 - Date: Oct. 24, 2015 - Time: 01:36
"Master, you need to go to bed. You can continue working on your next plan in the morning." I told Romeo sternly, trying to get him to comply with me on this for once.
"Come on, just a few more minutes! I'm so close to perfecting it!!" He said, still writing it on a whiteboard for himself.
"You said that 15 minutes ago. It's time for you to sleep." I told him, picking him up.
"Wha- come on!" Romeo whined, though he didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around my neck when I placed him on my back.
"You heard me, Master. Now, let's get you ready for bed."
"Hngh..." He reluctantly complied, resting his head on my shoulder.
After a few minutes of walking towards his room, I could feel his head lift up from my shoulder and turn towards the window.
"Wait, put me down, I need to see something-" He said, trying to get down from my back as I held him.
"No, Master. I'm not having you try to run off to avoid sleep."
"I'm not this time! I promise I won't! Please, put me down for a moment!" He cried out, pulling at my shirt as he continued to try and get down. I could tell he was genuinely trying to get a closer look at something.
"Fine, but it's not going to be for long." I told him, putting him back on the ground. He quickly ran over to the window and looked down.
"What's he doing over here? Luna said that she was going to be on the other side of town.." He whispered to himself, looking puzzled.
My own curiosity got the better of me and I walked over to Romeo and looked where he was looking. It was Gecko, sitting down against the brick wall of a building, his head resting on his knees while he curled up.
What was he doing over here? He doesn't look hurt at all, at least not from up here. And his team is on the other side of town, just around where Luna Girl was, I saw that for myself. So why?
After a moment of silence between us, Romeo spoke up, backing away from the window.
"I'm going to see why he's over here."
"No, Master. You need to go to bed!" I told him sternly, turning towards him.
"I need to see what Gecko is doing! I promise I won't be long!" He cried out, looking up at me with those big blue eyes of his.
I mean, should I? Sure, he could just be using him to get out of going to bed, but he seems to be genuinely curious. And I can't say that I'm not curious either.. or maybe even concerned. But I can't experience that emotion, or any human emotion... Can I?
I let out a defeated sigh before answering. "Fine, but don't make it too long. I'll prepare you some tea and clothes to sleep in for when you get back."
"Ooh! Okay, thank you Robot! I promise I'll be quick!" Romeo yelled out as he ran off towards the door that leads outside.
25 minutes has passed, and Romeo still isn't back. I couldn't help but wonder if he just ran back to his lab after talking to Gecko, as it would be a good time to do so. I decided to go back to the window where we first saw him to see if either Romeo or Gecko was actually there. As I was looking down, both of them were sitting on the ground, backs against the brick wall of the building. Gecko looks to be yelling and going off, but not at Romeo or about Romeo. Just in general, as his arms were expressive and his hands talked along with him. Romeo was clearly listening very closely, occasionally joining in and making a statement of his own, which Gecko would stop his rant momentarily to listen to him and agree. Still curious about what happened, I decided to open the window to maybe hear what they're talking about.
"AND IT'S JUST- IT'S LITERALLY NOT THAT HARD! JUST GET OUT OF YOUR OWN HEAD FOR MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS AT A TIME TO ACTUALLY HEAR ME OUT!!" I heard Gecko cry out, holding his arms out. "THAT'S ALL I ASK FROM THEM, BUT NOOOO, BECAUSE I AM YOUNGER THAN THEM, STRUGGLE WITH SCHOOL, AND EVEN STRUGGLE WITH THINGS LIKE SOCIAL CUES, THEY JUST THINK THAT I HAVE NOTHING IMPORTANT TO SAY!!"
Romeo simply nodded his head in agreement before speaking up, letting out an annoyed scoff as he rolled his eyes. "Tell me about it! Night Ninja and Luna Girl think the exact same thing about me! It's so hard to actually come up with a plan when I work with them at any given point!"
Gecko let out a chuckle as he took in a deep breath. "Well, at least you don't have to work with them 24/7 like I do! Or heck, even really be friends with them! You could just be like a co-worker to them if you want!"
"Yeah, true. At least there's that for me! But hey, unlike me, you could at least have a chance to correct them without needing to get physical at all or raise your voice!" Romeo chimed in, giving him a soft, genuine smile, which he rarely gives out to anyone except me.
"You aren't wrong on that, but it feels like that's the only way to get them to listen to me! Just simply talking to them doesn't seem to work for more than a week!" Gecko yelled out, holding his arms out again.
"Ooooh-ho-ho, don't even get me started on that!"
As I listened in on their conversation, I quickly noticed just how similar they were. They both have trouble getting others to listen to them, they both struggle with school and the social aspects of life, and their ages are the youngest of their respective groups. Both of them are tired of not being taken seriously, but they handle their situations very differently. Romeo often just makes them listen to him after so long, ranging from restraining them or just straight up hitting them until they do as he says. From all that I've seen, Gecko just sits backs and stays quiet about it, and the few times he does speak up, he just yells at them about it. Nothing more. Romeo shows anger with his issue, while Gecko shows sadness with his.
After a few minutes of listening to them, something in my metal chest just slowly started to feel what humans describe as an ache. Not a physical pain, but something similar.
Why am I feeling like this? Nothing is wrong with my internal system or anything, but why do I feel terrible? All I did was listen to those two and their struggles, but it shouldn't make me feel like this. It shouldn't.. yet it does. Seeing them just rant about their problems, not even looking for a solution for it as they have already tried to, it just.. The looks of tiredness on their faces, the anger yet sadness in their voices, I just cannot- I can't-
I closed the window, trying to get whatever this supposed aching feeling was in my chest to stop. I walked away from the window and started to clean up a few things to take my mind off of them and their conversation.
Around 10 more minutes pass by before Romeo comes back inside, rubbing his eye as he let out a yawn.
"Hello, Robot. Sorry about taking so long, got a bit caught up in conversation.."
"Hm? Well, what did you find out while you were talking to him?" I asked while picking him up again, as if I didn't already know the answer.
Romeo stayed quiet for a second before speaking up quietly, giving me a soft smile. "That someone else can actually understand the way I feel."
"... That's great, Master."

Should you try one about Amity’s siblings tickling her?
Took me a bit to figure out what I was gonna do for this, but I finally got an idea.
Temper
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summary: After an argument with her mother, Amity starts getting short-tempered, so the twins help her calm down.
Lee: Amity
Ler(s): Edric and Emira
This is a tickle fic. If you're not into that kind of stuff, please leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was a loud day at the Blight Manor. Odalia was constantly commenting on everything Amity did, always starting some kimd of argument between them.
Edric and Emira didn't care at first, but it started to get tiring listening to them, and they knew Amity was getting tired of it too.
The purple haired witch looked like she was about to blow a fuse. Odalia had called Amity into her room for something while the twins sat on the couch.
They could hear yelling coming from their mothers room, followed by a loud slam as Amity burst out the doors.
They turned to look at her. "Hey, Mittens-" Edric started, but was quickly cut off by Amity, "What do you want?" She snapped, her eyes blazing with anger.
The twins seemed taken aback by her reaction, "Are you okay?" Emira asked. Amity rolled her eyes, "Oh, yes, everything is just perfect!" She spat, storming off to her room.
The twins gave each other a concerned glance before following after Amity. They stopped at her door, hesistating before Emira opening it.
Amity was sitting on her bed, messing with her hair. She had kicked her trashcan over and threw papers on her desk onto the floor.
Emira opened the door a bit wider, catching Amity's attention, "Get out." She muttered. They stepped into her room, "We just want to see how you're doing." Edric said.
Amity sighed, looking away from them as they stepped closer to her bed. They propped themselves onto her bed, Emira sitting on the left and Edric sitting on the right, leaving Amity in between them.
Emira scooted a bit closer to her, smiling as Amity leaned on her shoulder. "What did mom need now?" Edric asked.
Amity bit her lip, "She claimed my choice in friends was embarrassing her and ruining her reputation. But it doesn't even make sense! Luz and them haven't done anything to her!" She spat, her eyes glowing with anger.
Emira frowned, "Just calm down. It'll be okay." She said. "Will it?" She glared at Emira before looking away and relaxing again.
Edric glanced at his little sister before at Emira. Emira met his glance, shrugging at him.
He looked away for a second, thinking before glancing back at Emira, his eyes bright. He pointed at Amity before wiggling his fingers at Emira.
She blinked in confusion before eventually catching on, her eyes bright as she nodded. They both looked back down at Amity.
"Are you still mad?" Edric asked. Amity just stared at the wall, "Yes." She muttered, her gaze cold.
"Huh, too bad. Welp, I guess we gotta make you feel better!" Emira said. Amity looked up, confused before squeaking as Emira squeezed her sides.
She bit her lip, scooting away from Emira. She froze as she felt herself bump into something. Edric grinned, grabbing her and poking her ribs.
Amity bit down harder on her lip, her face going bright red. Emira chuckled as she scooted closer.
Amity tried to squirm away, but Edric held her still. "Y'know, Mittens, you really need to laugh more." Emira said, scribbling her fingers over her belly and squeezing her sides while Edric squeezed her ribs.
Amity shook her head, "Noho- ihi DohOHNT!" She said, suddenly squealing as she felt Edric do a raspberry on her ear.
"AHANOHO!" She tried to shove him away, only pushing herself closer to Emira, who grinned and squeezed her ribs.
"QuiHit iIhit!" She said, trying to squirm away. She felt Edric squeeze her sides from behind her, getting another squeak out of her before bursting into more giggles.
The twins just cooed at her, causing her face to get redder as she got all flustered. Edric hummed, "I dont think this is enough. She's giggly, but she still looks mad." He said.
Emira grinned, "Guess we'll just have to take it up a notch!" She said. Confusion hung in Amity's eyes before she squeaked as Emira exposed her belly.
"Wait! Yohou dont have to do that!" She said, chucking nervously. Emira shrugged, "I dont have to, but I want to!" She said, taking in a breath and blowing a raspberry onto Amity's stomach.
Amity squealed, bursting into loud, snorty giggles. "NOHoHO!*snort* CUHuHut Ihit OHOOUT!" She tried to cast a spell, but she could hardly focus on anything.
"IHim GohONHAHA-!" She burst into another fit of squeals as Edric blew a raspberry on her ear.
"You're gonna what?" He said, raising an eyebrow, "We can't understand you if you keep giggling!" He teased.
They both chuckled as Amitys face got redder. She kicked her legs around, but it was no use.
Emira grinned at her, "Okay, there's just one more thing we want to do." She said, winking at Edric.
Amity tried to catch her breath, about to ask her what she meant before squeaking as she felt Edric lift her arms above her head, holding them still.
Amity froze, "No! We can talk about this, right?" She asked, a nervous grin on her face. Emira shrugged, simply placing her fingers on Amity's underarms.
She purposely twitched her fingers, elicting small giggles from Amity. "We could talk about it, but you'd probably go back to being grumpy, and we can't have that!" She said.
Without warning, she dug her fingers into Amitys underarms, scratching and scribbling her fingers around.
Amity immediately burst into very loud, snorty, and hiccupy giggles, desperately trying to squirm away.
"Whats the matter? Can't handle it?" Emira teased. Amity didn't respond, just looking away, her face a deep red.
Tears pricked the corners of her eyes, and soon, the twins realized they needed to stop. Emira lifted her hands, and Edric let her arms go.
Amity immediately hugged herself, still giggling as she caught her breath. The twins just smiled and snuggled beside her.
To their surprise, she didn't try and push them away. She leaned into them, closing her eyes, her face still red.
"You feeling better now?" Edric asked. Amity nodded, "Yeheah, thanks you two." She said, snuggling closer to them.
"Good. Just know, next time you're upset, we'll have to do it again!" Emira said, giving Amity a poke.
Amity let out more giggles at the poke, squirming a bit. "Are you sensitive now?" She teased.
Amity rolled her eyes, "Shut up." She muttered, but she had a grin on her face. They all three sat in silence, enjoying eachothers presence.
It was quiet and calm. Amity loved when things were like this, if helped her relax. Surprisingly, her siblings were helping her feel better, too.
Amity glanced at them and realized they were both asleep. She smiled and just leaned back, closing her eyes.
Sometimes, she wondered where she'd be without these two amazing idiots.

Journal Entry #51 (part one)
Tumblr media
previously - Journal Entry #50
Victor
Hey everyone!
Guess who got one of his casts off?
Spoiler alert: it's me!
Tumblr media
My right wrist only had a partial fracture, and after looking at my latest x-rays, Dr. Sato said the bone is completely knitted together now. I started physio for my right arm today, and guess what else? I'm cleared for limited daytime driving and light exercise, and the doctor says that if I keep progressing at this rate, she'll fully clear me for all my normal activities in a month. That means snowboarding. It means I can start training again, and eventually competing again if I want to.
Yuri doesn't like the idea of me getting back into competition, but he said he won't try to stop me if it's what I want. What I really want is to make it into the FIS World Championship next year and hopefully place in the top ten. Ideally, I'd like to be on the medal podium, but I have to be realistic about it. Naturally, I'm aiming for the top, but it's just that I have to be prepared not to achieve that, because as I've learned, anything can happen.
But, I've promised Yuri that I'll retire at the end of next season, regardless of the outcome at Worlds. If I have a year to mentally prepare myself for my retirement, maybe it won't be so difficult.
Dr. Sato says it'll be at least another two to three weeks before my left arm is ready to come out of its cast, and she says I'll likely have to wear a wrist brace for a few more weeks after that. Even though I'm itching to get back on the slopes, I'm trying to look on the bright side. Having one of my hands back in service has made a massive difference in the level of help I need, so I definitely shouldn't be complaining.
Talking about my arms makes me realize just how much time has actually passed since I recorded anything here. It's been about five and a half weeks since my accident, and the last time I made an entry was a little over two weeks after it. So, basically that's three weeks of radio silence. Sorry for that.
It's been a chaotic three weeks, but Yuri and I have been managing. Mom and Julian already went home, and Uncle Kaz left the day before yesterday, but Yuri's parents are still here to look after us. We're getting lots of support from our friends as well.
Tumblr media
Yuri finally got out of the hospital after having been in there for seventeen days. He's still mostly on bed rest at home, but I can see him improving little by little each day. He’s sleeping less and eating regularly now, and doesn’t seem to be in as much pain as he was before.
More than anything, I'm beyond grateful that he's eating. I don't even care that his meals are tiny and mostly consist of yogurt, fruit and rice, or that he has to be coaxed to eat, or that somebody often has to feed him. Anything's better than an NG tube.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Seiji was dead-on about the strawberry mochi. It did, in fact, turn out to be the thing that convinced Yuri to try taking one small bite of something. Seriously, never underestimate the power of desserts.
Now that I've mentioned Seiji, I should give you a little update on him, too. He ended up moving to the city after all, despite my best efforts at talking him into staying around.
You may have guessed the brilliant idea I had that day in the park was for Seiji to help take care of Yuri once he was released from the hospital. I thought it was a stroke of genius. It'd give Seiji a purpose and a reason not to leave, and it'd avoid the necessity of having a stranger look after Yuri while he's recovering. Unfortunately, neither Seiji nor Yuri went for it. That's not to say we didn't ultimately solve the problem anyway, but I'll tell you more about that in a minute.
The last I heard from Seiji, he'd gotten a job in a convenience store, just like he predicted he would. I'm not sure he's entirely happy with it, but he didn't seem happy here any more either, so I guess he might as well be unhappy with a change of scenery. I'd much rather he was happy, of course, but I have no control over that. Happiness is an inside job, after all. We each have to get into the mindset of choosing happiness for ourselves.
As for me, I can honestly say I'm happy in spite of everything. Setbacks notwithstanding, the future’s looking good for Yuri and me.
Tumblr media
In light of Dr. Sato's prognosis for my recovery and my ability to return to competitive snowboarding, I got in contact with Luke Smith, my former coach back home to see whether he'd consider taking me on as a student again. He said he couldn't do it, but he told me that he had the perfect person in mind for me to train with, and when he told me who it was, I might've shouted a little bit with excitement.
Apparently one of my former teammates, Davey Duke — or Daisy, as everyone calls him — is planning to retire at the end of this season, but is looking to stay actively involved with the sport. Daisy and I were always great friends, and we've kept in sporadic contact since I've been in Japan. Also, the guy's a freakin' rockstar. Having him for a coach, I'd be the envy of pretty much every other competitor in the sport.
Luke said he'd pitch the idea to Daisy and get back to me, but as it happened, I didn't have to wait for Luke. Within two hours of that conversation with my old coach, I had a text from Daisy that was in all caps with a huge string of exclamation marks. "YES, MY DUDE!!!!!! LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!"
Tumblr media
That matter having been unequivocally taken care of, Yuri and I have turned our attention to planning our move at the end of May. The goal is to be there and settled in well before Mom and Julian's wedding on the eleventh of June. We officially made an offer on the haunted house, which was quickly accepted, and we’ve transferred our down payment.
We’d been hoarding money for that down payment since the house went on the market, and we’re kinda broke now until Yuri gets next month’s allowance from his trust fund, but I can live with it. I’ve been broke before and survived.
One of the lawyers at Uncle Stephen's firm is dealing with all the legal details of the house purchase for us, which is a huge relief. An even bigger relief is that Uncle Stephen is personally handling Yuri's immigration paperwork, and he's waiving his fees.
In related news, I'm still debating with myself what to do about school. I've almost entirely made up my mind that I'm going to study nursing, but I'm waiting for my next appointment with Dr. Ishida before I commit to that choice completely. Dr. Ishida's pronouncement about my ability to read having more to do with my vision than my intelligence is still sinking in, and I want to get my glasses and be sure I actually can read as well as she thinks I can before I sign myself up for a course with lots of required reading.
The other thing I have to decide is if I'm going to try to start school this September or if I'm going to defer my studies for a year. I think it might be difficult to do a course with a clinical component while I'm competing. I'd have to travel for competitions, but I'd also have to prioritize my clinical placements, and since it's impossible to be in two places at once, I'd have to pick one. I think that'd be a less than ideal situation.
Meanwhile, Yuri has decided to take a leave of absence from his job at FutureBright Communications. His boss, Mr. Tanaka, assured him that he could still work remotely even if he was living in Canada, but Dr. Kasongo suggested that it'd be in his best interests not to work at all for a while. She thinks it makes more sense to focus on his health without having to cope with the pressure and stress of work.
Yuri resisted at first, but I think Mr. Tanaka might've guided him toward seeing reason. I know he really trusts and respects Mr. Tanaka, and I think the promise that there'd still be a job for him when he's ready to come back to work helped.
The human resources lady from FutureBright phoned here a few days ago to fill out the paperwork for short-term disability insurance benefits with him. He'll be covered for six months, which will get him through the spring and summer, and then they'll revisit the claim in early September to see if it'll need to be renewed for a further six months or if he can return to his job.
Personally, I think this is the perfect arrangement. Who wouldn't want a free summer in Willow Creek, with a percentage of their pay still coming in? Yuri can devote his time to getting healthy and doing things he enjoys, and when I'm not busy with work or training, we'll be able to go on all kinds of awesome adventures together. I'm really looking forward to that.
Tumblr media
Another thing both Yuri and I are looking forward to is having Takahiro and Fox join us in Willow Creek this summer. Fox is from the Willow Creek-Newcrest area, and when his visa expires at the beginning of August he'll be returning, and he's bringing Taka with him.
Normally, one might expect that they'd stay with Fox's parents, but apparently the Abbottsfords dislike "foreigners" and have some sort of weird moral objection to the fact that their son is in a relationship with a man. They sound like totally charming people, right?
According to Taka, Fox's father hasn’t even spoken to him since November, which utterly blows my mind. My mom and I would be beside ourselves if we were out of contact for more than a day or two, much less for whole months at a stretch. Even when Yuri's relationship with his dad was at its worst, they still spoke to each other every couple of weeks.
Just as an aside, Yuri talks to his dad daily now, and sometimes multiple times a day. I love to see how much closer they're growing lately, and it almost makes me sad that we're moving because it means Yuri won't get to spend as much time with him. But, like Mr. Okamoto has assured us, they'll come and visit and they can certainly still find ways to talk every day.
Anyway, in light of all the racist and homophobic nonsense with Fox's parents, Yuri and I have already agreed that Fox and Taka can stay with us if they want to, until they find a place of their own. The haunted house has a couple of extra bedrooms in the basement, so they can have whichever one of those isn't Sachiko's room.
Tumblr media
Yeah, Sachiko the ghost has decided to remain in the house. Robert and Kim MacAllister, the current owners, told us that they offered to bring her home to Mt. Komorebi, but she wanted to stay and see what it'd be like to share a home with people her own age.
That was kind of funny to me. I mean, Kim and Robert are in their early seventies, and as far as they can determine, Sachiko died about seventy-five years ago, so they're technically closer to her age than we are. Still, I get what she meant. She was in her early twenties when she died, and Yuri and I are in our mid-twenties now, so there's a certain logic to her choice.
Robert and Kim explained that they bought Sachiko a flower-arranging station, and decorated a bedroom for her, and even set a place at the table for her at mealtimes. Being a ghost, Sachiko doesn't need to eat or sleep, but they wanted to help her feel like part of the family. Yuri and I are planning to continue with that, so of course we can't give away her bedroom, even if she doesn't actually sleep in it.
Now, the only hurdle left to face is how we're going to break the news to Taka that our haunted house literally is haunted. Up to this point, he's seemed to think it's some kind of elaborate joke. He's not a big fan of the paranormal, and I think he might not want to stay with us when he finally grasps the fact that Sachiko is real.
But, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, as my grandpa Michael likes to say. We'll certainly have plenty of opportunity to address the subject, since we've been seeing a lot more of Taka and Fox lately.
And why is that, you ask? Seiji may not have bought into my plan to help take care of Yuri, but Fox and Taka did. Or more specifically, Fox did, and because he already has his partner wrapped firmly around his little finger, our dear friend Takahiro is along for the proverbial ride.
Tumblr media
I'd like to take full credit for planning our circumstances to evolve this way, but I can't. In reality, Fox volunteered for the job and Yuri, perhaps concluding that we didn't have a lot of viable options, accepted his offer.
It happened a few days before Yuri got out of the hospital. I was there with him when Fox and Taka showed up for a visit. Yuri hadn’t been very talkative. He'd had a bad morning and really didn't want to do anything except be cuddled, but that hadn't put Taka and Fox off. They seemed happy enough to sit there and chat with me.
Fox was excited because he's learning to drive and would be getting his learner's permit soon. He happily declared that there'd be no stopping him once he had his own wheels, whereupon Taka emphasized the need for his own, because he certainly wasn't going to be driving Yuzu. Oh... If no one's mentioned it before, Taka has this SUV that he and Seiji painted an absolutely eye-popping shade of yellow. He calls it Yuzu, after the fruit, and I'm reasonably certain it's his most prized possession.
Meanwhile, Taka was excited because he just finished his first study module in language school. He only started taking English classes at the language school in January, so I felt like his achievement was impressive, and told him so. His English was okay to begin with, but it's improved by leaps and bounds since he started his course. He confided that he wants to get as much learning in as possible before the summer, because he wants to take the immigration language test so he can apply for a study permit and go to college in Canada.
"Looks like you've got a busy spring, then," I remarked.
"Yeah," Taka agreed. "Because I has big plans."
"I have plans," Fox corrected him, and they both laughed.
"I have plans," Taka repeated dutifully. "Why is that one so hard?"
"You'll get it," Fox said. "Don't worry. You're already so much further ahead than you were when we met."
"Because I practice with you. You're the best teacher I... has." As if the deliberate pause wasn't enough to signal that he'd used the wrong verb tense on purpose this time, Taka bestowed his partner with a cheeky little grin. "Best ever."
That caused Fox to blush an extreme shade of pink, and brought about my turn to laugh. "Anybody ever tell you guys how cute you are?"
"Everyone. All the time," Taka answered cheerfully.
Fox looked flustered, and mumbled something in Japanese that sounded like. "New topic. Begging you."
Taka looked amused. "Now who's showing his good language skills?"
"Maybe we do need a new topic, before Fox starts looking for a place to hide," I said.
"Okay," Taka agreed. "I know when to stop. We can talk about you instead. You're going to Canada before us."
"Yeah, at the end of May, but we've got to get back on our feet and make it through the rest of the winter and the spring, first. One thing at a time, right, Yuri?"
Yuri stirred slightly in my arms and said quietly, "I guess."
"Are you going home soon, Yuri?" Fox asked.
When he didn't reply after several seconds, I said, "His doctor says he can go home in a few days, but she won't release him until we sort out who's going to be looking after him."
"Won't his parents do it?" Taka asked.
"They will, but they can't be with us the whole time," I gestured vaguely with one of my casted arms. "And there's a lot I still can't do, so I'm going to need some help too."
"What exactly do you need?" Fox asked. "Is it like, actual medical stuff, or more like someone to help around the house?"
"The only medical thing would be to make sure Yuri takes his medication when he's supposed to," I said. "But, I can still manage that myself. It's the other stuff that we need help with."
"I could do it," he said.
I wasn't quite sure I'd heard him correctly. "You... what?"
"I could help you, and I'll bet Auntie Keiko would help too, if you asked her."
"I think she would," Taka said. "We can ask."
"You can help too, Takahiro," Fox added.
Taka hadn't appeared to mind being drafted by his boyfriend. "Yes, when I'm not at work."
"Perfect," Fox said. "Victor, even if Auntie can't help, you'll have Taka on Fridays and Sundays if you need him, and I'll be glad to come to your house every day and do what I can."
"You know what you'd be getting into, right?" I asked. "You'd be doing almost everything until I get at least one of these casts off."
"I understand."
As grateful as I was for his offer, I needed to make sure he really did understand. Being able to see properly again, I was able to do a lot more for myself than I could before. I was getting pretty good at using just my fingers to do quite a few things, and I was feeling comfortable picking up lighter objects like dishes or dog toys or laundry, but without the use of my thumbs, there were still plenty of tasks that were outside my ability.
"When I say everything, I mean literally everything," I said. "That'd include personal care, so uh... there'd be kinda gross stuff involved."
Fox laughed. "Are you trying to discourage me?"
"I'm not trying to discourage you. I just don't want you to agree to something without knowing exactly what you'd be in for."
"Thanks." Fox's determination was evident on his face. "I appreciate that, but I can do it."
Taka reached for Fox's hand, and the smile he gave him practically glowed with pride. "You are amazing. You wouldn't have done that before."
"I've learned a lot from you and your parents and Jin," Fox said. "Turns out, I'm capable of a lot more than I ever gave myself credit for, and I'm not scared to challenge myself any more. Plus, remember what you told me when we first met?"
"I told you a lot of stuff," Taka said.
"Yes, but I'm talking about what you said about kindness. You said the best way to repay you for your kindness to me would be for me to pay it forward to someone else some day."
"Right. I remember."
"Well," Fox said. 'I guess this is the day."
I glanced down at Yuri, who was curled tightly against my chest and clearly doing his best not to listen to the conversation. "Hey," I said softly. "Would you be okay with that? With Fox looking after you?"
He nodded and practically whispered. "I... I think I'd be okay with that."
I'm not sure Yuri was entirely relieved, but I can assure you I was. The issue of whether or not we'd need somebody from the home healthcare program had been a big one for us, and something I was glad we no longer had to think about.
Although I felt confident the home care workers were well-trained and trustworthy, my opinion would've made very little difference if Yuri was too scared to have them in the house. Being in constant fear wouldn't help his recovery. And yeah, it'd be easy to say his fear was irrational or unjustified, but given his physical condition as well as his past trauma, I'd tend to disagree. I mean, if I were in his place, I think I'd be scared to let a stranger into my house too, never mind letting them do personal stuff for me.
At least Fox was a known quantity. To be fair, we didn't know him all that well yet, but based on my acquaintance with him up to that point, I was satisfied that he would handle Yuri with care. Besides, I reminded myself, Takahiro's parents trust him to continue to live in their home and not cause any trouble, and apparently Taka's sister Aiko trusts him enough to ask him to babysit her three year old son. I reasoned that if he could manage looking after little Toshiro with no mishaps, then he should be able to handle looking after an adult.

today W wanted to wear a hat and wear it backwards like me. she's such a joy to spend time with. even at mundane places like the grocery store.
I really am pushing it to get this post out before midnight, but here we are. 10:48p. It's hard to believe that this year i got divorced. well, we're not finalized yet, but my lawyer sent over the final draft of the decree or whatever this morning at 4am. she was fucking up, and, insanely, i was too. all the tropes are true, all the things that people say to comfort you are trite. i'm going to be ok. i am also massively sad about this whole thing. for better or for much worse, i really didn't see this coming. in the way you think your car is old and shitty but will still get you to work, and you just take for granted that it'll start on a cold morning, i just assumed that we were in a ebb and would eventually flit back into a flow. our problems with communication would sort themselves out. but they didn't. the car wouldn't crank, and we were bound to repeat the cycle that we had experienced as children. i probably still love ashley. maybe not in true romantic way, but as much as everything she is to me makes me angry i still love her for who she is to wilder. it's one of those contradictory quirks about life that just make you shrug.
I skated a lot this year, and really connected with some amazing friends through that. those guys helped me immensely and i'll never be able to thank them. skating with them in Raleigh in the spring was one of my favorite trips ever. we're also going to Eindhoven this feb for an event with a bunch more people. then back to Raleigh/durham in april. it's something to look forward to when times are so fucking bleak. I've lost about 30 pounds since june. it feels ok, but my clothes look silly on me, and i can't really afford a new wardrobe, and even if i could i'm sentimental to the point of mental illness and can't bare to throw anything away(everything-reminds-me-of-her.elliott-smith/song)
anyway, what a life. i don't know how to proceed, aside from waking up and going forward. i guess that's what most people in recorded history did, but i'm just smart enough to realize how trivial and pointless it is, and how i know for certain all of the hope i had as a young man about success are completely out of reach and just dumb enough to not make any of my dreams a reality(too dumb for nyc, too ugly for LA).
it's bleak, but it's mine. i'll see you in 2024. god knows it's the least i can do.

Here’s your Fic! Hot and ready! I hope it’s up to your standards, and even more so: that you enjoy it! (It was certainly fun to write!)
Bill Cipher and Yoimiya Fusion in a Genshin Setting
The fire danced on my finger tips. It was lovely. I felt... ecstatic. I watched it travel from finger to finger, burning me ever-so-slightly.
"-MIYA!!" I heard a voice erupt, yanking me from my thoughts.
"Ayaka!" I yelled back, looking to my dearest friend and giggling.
"You were in a trance for so long; I thought I had lost you." She smiled, bumping me slightly.
"Nope! I'm alll good! How's the re-write of the plan going?" I asked, peering over her shoulder, looking down at the paper in front of her.
"Well, I've found out that my brother will be right along this path with his body guards, so if we can get everything set up before he leave..." She explained.
My eyes lit up.
"Then the plan has to work!" I exclaimed.
"Exactly. Do you have all the fireworks prepared?" She asked me, expectantly.
"No, not yet. But, what time is Mr.Kamisato supposed to leave the estate?" I asked her, trying to remember just how many I got done.
"Around 2:30." She answered, reading her paper.
"Perfect! This way, I can still have time to get the big firework done! We don't need anything else!"
"Are you sure?" Ayaka asked, hesitancy in her eyes, "Wouldn't that be a little... too much?"
"No! Not at all! Your brother can withstand anything, right? He'll be just fine!" I laughed.
"Billmiya, come on, just... don't set it too close? He might get burned or something." She continued, still concerned for her brothers safety.
"He will be okay, it's not like he's made of glass!" I told her, "Now let's get this party started!"
We kept working for a couple more hours, till finally, 1:30pm, we were done.
"Boom baby!! Oh- What if it exploded right here, right now...." I said, going to poke the firework.
"What if it... didn't?" Ayaka asked, pushing my hand down slowly.
"Fineeeeeee, we should get going though!" I said, just imagining the fireworks that would erupt.
"Okay, okay!" Ayaka giggled, gathering the smaller fireworks and loading them onto our cart.
As the two of us finished gathering the fireworks and all of the lighting supplies, we were off.
"The kind of destruction that this would cause... it would be catastrophic!" I imagined the fire... the glittering flames and billowing smoke...
I was so caught up in my thoughts, I didn't realize I was cackling like a maniac.
"You're doing it again~” Ayaka said, waving her hand in front of my face.
"Right! Haha..." I looked away.
"Anyway... we're here! My brother should be here any moment, so let's get set up!" Ayaka smiled.
I quickly got all of the bigger fireworks set up behind the designated rocks.
"Hey- don't you think that's a little too close to the path?" Ayaka asked.
"It'll be fine~." I hummed.
"No, really-"
"I don't said it will be fine. You don't think I'd really put your brother in that much of harms way, right?" I asked her.
"I... guess not..."
"Then it's all good!" I beamed.
"Okay... if you say so." Ayaka whispered, finished up her portion of the work.
And so, we soon finished and hid and waited.
Eventually, we saw Mr.Kamisato in a cart and his two body guards, traveling down the path ahead.
I looked over to Ayaka and giggled, then we put our Hilichurl masks.
I almost got too caught up in the thoughts of what exactly the destruction would look like, because the group got really close to the firework site.
"I SAID DO IT NOW!" Ayaka yelled, a bit of fear evident in her voice.
Such a measly little mortal… afraid of a little fire…
I set the fireworks off and we jumped from the bushes we were hiding in.
The display was beautiful, the fire and what-ifs of destruction danced around in my head. I was held captive by my thoughts- and it was lovely.
"HAHAHHAHA!" I laughed, seeing the expressions of Mr.Kamisato and his two bodyguards.
"Did we scare you!?" Ayaka asked expectantly.
Mr.Kamisato sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
“You certainly did…” He muttered.
Wonderful…

Lolbit! Reader(M) x Hazbin Hotel || SMALL ONESHOT
youtube
This is a small One shot since Im slow at updating and too impatient to show you......... So I guess it's a trailer??
_______________________________________
So everyone obviously met FFoxy and y/n. They didn't that FFoxy could sing. Y/n and Alastor were talking about killing and some stuff like that. Seeing Y/N laughing with someone else made Foxy jealous. He made a little narrowed his eyes and YK Alastor could feel someone looking at him.
FFoxy pov - & FP pov "Why don't you tell him already." Charlie says. "I don't know what you're talking about." I say while crossing my arms and looking away. "Oh come on it's obvious." Vaggie says while rolling and crossing her arms at the same time. I looked at Vaggie then back at Charlie. Her eyes light up and sparkles "You like y/n!!!" (Why did it remind me of "You like Maddie!" meme) She said all excited. My eyes widened and I blush dark red.
"SHUUUUUU, he might hear you!!" I told her. "Oh! Sorry sorry, I'm just happy for you. You HAVE to tell him. Right Vaggie?!" "Yeah I agree with Charlie. And believe me I've been there." She said reassuring me. "Really?" I asked "Yeah. But that's a story for another time. Right now you need to go tell YN you like him." I blushed again "I-i-..No I can't!!" "And why can't you?" Vaggie said crossing her arms. "Me and y/n are friends.. all we do is kill night guards and scare them.. that's all we'll ever do and that's all we'll ever be..." I said trying so hard to deny my feelings about him.
"Oh! I know! You should sing about him. You know, about how you feel. But we should all sing so no one would be suspicious of us." Charlie said.
"Like a talent show?" Vaggie questions.
"Exactly. A talent show." Charlie said With determination.
"Hey guys, let's do a✨talent show!✨" She announced.
"A what now." Angel said while sucking on another popsicle.
"Yeah no. Talent shows aren't for me. I'll pass." Husk said taking another sip of cheap booze.
"Oh come on it'll be fun." She said trying to get everyone to take part in the show. Eventually she did.
~Time skip~ Some people had already went. Alastor had just finished singing 'Feeling good' by Michael Bublè. They had just found out that Y/N could sing so they begged him. And eventually he gave in.
YN teleported on stage while everyone's attention was on him. He turned into a girl version of himself. Everyone was shocked. Alastor stayed the same but his eyes were a little bit wider with his grin growing. Y/n's body was a little bit slimmer the boy version of himself.
Y/n's eyes turn black white dots shinning bright in the dark.(stage dim lights are there too)
"LoL lol. LoL Lol. I feel so out of place. Please stand by Await your deadly fate."
When Y/N said that Alastor smirk widened.
"Glitching through the system Can't outrun. Better watch your step if not I'll come. I feel so out of place. (LoL)" "Turn out the lights tonight." "I'm getting faded" "A strobe within the shadows,"
Yns head stayed still as his body was floating and twisted around.
"Deep commission, Isolated." "Even though I got a coat of color I never hesitate to come close smother" "You and all your friends,"
Y/N points to a random demon watching. (Yes since it's a talent show you have a big audience) The demon widened, because y/n was seeing right through him.
"That's where I come in." Y/N grinned. "LoL it's time to laugh along with. LoL my friends they call me Lolbit ^^' "I feel so out of place Please stand by Await your deadly fate (LoL)" "Glitching through the system Can't outrun Better watch your step if not I'll come I feel so out of place" Y/N trying not to let his past get to him. So he kept smiling. And turned into his boy self. (LoL) Y/N glitches next to the random demon. The demon jumped at the demon appearing in front of him.
"Your in a dark room Tryn to escape But you got old friends new friends stuck in the way You see an exit sign but it's a dead design The red light screaming that your dead inside." Of course the demon was scared because all eyes were on him. Y/n took his phone.
"Keeping you close to me I take a picture." The demon shoved yn off and ran.
"💢😌Count it up 123 I'm going get ya." "Sneaking up under your skin it will craw Ready to strike in this virtual hall Funtime for me as I'm howling along (Dæd£y ãsthêyçømë)." Y/n's eyes were glitching when he said that. With that Alastor had an evil smirk plastered on his face. (Skip to 49 sec)
"Come get your fix A virtual reality Lolbits an anomaly." While saying he puts his hand on his chest.
"Commonly mistaking for Funtime foxy but he's obviously a wannabe." While saying that, Y/N looks at FFoxy, smirks at him then wink an eye at him. Making him blush. "Wabbly out the knees You wanna see a fix with quality." Y/n glitched Infront of the demon that ran, grabbing his throat, letting his feet dangle. "Me sharping all of my teeth Purple and orange I'm a beast." Y/n forced the demon to look in his eyes. With an evil smirk plastered on his face. "I'll make you believe Chop off your hands and your feet Cut out your tongue you can't speak." The demon was scared out of his mind. So Y/N dropped him and said "I'll put you at peace How bout I make you a deal Give me your hands and it's real." Sign here On the dotted line Then your souls mine what a seal." The demon wanted it to be over, so he quickly signed his first and last name on the shiney golden paper that appeared in front of him. And he thought finally..I'll be left alone.. His body shook so bad and ran out of the hotel. Somewhere far away from the hotel, since he knew Y/N was staying there. All he knew was that he wanted to get as far away as possible from the hotel...... but that's what he thought. Y/N glitched back on stage while glitching back into the girl version of himself.
"LoL it's time to laugh along with LoL my friends they call me Lolbit I feel so out of place Please stand by Await your deadly fate (LoL LoL)." "Glitching through the system Can't outrun Better watch your step If not I'll come I feel so out of place." Y/n's ears went down for at least 5 seconds as his pats just didn't want to get of his head.  But quickly raised them back up, smiling before saying "LoL LoL. LoL LoL." ^^ But that didn't go unnoticed by FFoxy and 4 other friends. Y/n turned back to the boy version of himself. Getting off stage for someone else to perform. While the crowd of demons cheered.
It wasn't supposed to be y/n singing TvT it was supposed to be Foxy. But I'm making a part 2 for him cause that's what I was SUPPOSED to do in the first place. See ya later my mini dumplings ( ◜‿◝ )♡ <3

DannyMay Day 19 (No backspace)
Summary: Danny wishes he could get a break. Thankfully, these ghosts don’t seem like his usual fare. Prequel to "Fangs".
Words: 1753
Danny was prepared to have a calm, normal day hanging out with his friends at the park. Which meant he was not enthused when he felt a cold shiver down his spine, indicating the presence of a probably-very-annoying ghost.
Tucker and Sam noticed his complete and utter exhaustion, and thankfully the shared brain cell was working hard enough that the three of them could decide on a plan.
"I don't hear any screaming, so maybe if we're lucky, the ghost isn't quite to the 'terrorizing Amity Park' bit," Danny guessed. "If I go in, catch it off-guard, and shove it in the thermos, maybe we'll get this solved in like five minutes, tops."
Sam shook her head. "If it's anyone like Technus, you're gonna need me and Tucker to get it done quickly. Come on, let's just rip the bandaid off."
She had a point, so Danny decided to drop the subject of going alone and just lead the group over to where his ghostly tingling was leading him. What he found were definitely ghosts, though when he said they hadn't started terrorizing people, he hadn't expected to find the ghosts laying on the grass.
The two ghosts were ones he'd never seen before. One was washed out, like the color was drained from their form. The other looked perfectly human, if not for the glazed-over eyes.
Instead of waiting for the ghosts to reveal their powers in a complicated series of shenanigans that would waste his entire day, he uncapped the Fenton thermos and approached the duo.
"Okay, ghosts, your time… enjoying the sun is over!" he exclaimed. He didn't make a move just yet - he wanted to wait for them to at least try attacking. After all, he was in a hurry, but he wasn't rude.
The ghost with the dead eyes glanced at him. "Uhh… what's up with you, kid? Got a comic con to go to or somethin'?"
Danny's ego instantly deflated.
"I'm not a nerd! I know you're here to scare people or take over the entire city's population of squirrels or something, so just fess up and get in the thermos."
The washed-out ghost glanced at their companion, then at Danny. In a measured tone, the kind he only heard from teachers, they asked, "Do you mind explaining? I'm sure it'll all make sense eventually, but as it is, we're both rather… confused."
"I don't need to explain things to nutty ghosts! I'm on a tight schedule, and I don't have time to listen to your monologue."
Sam prodded his arm. "Uh, Danny, I think - and this sounds stupid to me too, but I think they're not gonna do anything?"
"There's no reason for a ghost to be out of the Ghost Zone unless they're trying to be the next dictator of mankind or whatever," Danny snarked.
The ghost with dead eyes piped up again, "We actually got thrown here. Out a portal. The guy who made it just sort of closed it behind us and… now we're stuck. Got any idea how we could go back?"
"I don't want to go back. It's warm out here." The washed-out ghost rolled over in the grass and pressed their face into the dirt.
Danny stared at the duo, dumbfounded. "... Look, in a few hours, me and my friends will come back here, and I'll show you a portal back. Just… don't turn evil and try to kill everyone until then, okay?"
"Will do." The only ghost not currently face-down in the grass gave him a thumbs-up.
And - Danny couldn't quite believe he was doing this - he left. The thermos went back in his bag, and Danny decided to deal with that particular predicament after he and his friends had relaxed first.
It was difficult to let go and relax when he was constantly expecting to hear the screams of the damned somewhere off in the distance, but he at least tried his best. His "best" was still very distracting, and after only an hour of messing around with his friends, he decided he needed to get it over with or he'd die from anxiety.
He took off towards the place he'd last left the ghosts, leaving his friends to continue having a somewhat relaxing day. He reached the spot, and found the ghosts in more or less the same position - this time they'd swapped whose head was in the dirt.
"Alright. Who did you kill?" he accused, more out of habit than anything. The washed-out ghost squinted at him.
"Were we supposed to kill someone? I'm sorry, I really didn't understand the social etiquette here. Earth has changed a lot in 50 years, apparently."
"No! No, please don't kill anyone. Here, just follow me back to my place. My parents have a portal in the basement."
The ghost studied him carefully. "Go to your basement. That's the best you've got? You're not even trying to be subtle."
"I'm not trying to kidnap you or anything. Actually, I really want you back in the Ghost Zone before I lose my mind."
".. Alright, but if you do try to attack us, young man, I'll tell you we won't go quietly."
The two ghosts stood up, and Danny reached out a hand.
"Uh, this is a bit awkward, but I know most ghosts' names so… I'm Danny, who are you? For future reference, in case you do try to kill everyone."
The ghost with the dead eyes huffed. "Thanks kid, but I'm still not convinced that ghosts don't work on fairy rules. I ain't telling you my name until I know you're not gonna use it against me. You can call me Conrad, though. This is… Poppet, for now."
"Weird choice of fake names, but alright. You don't look like normal ghosts, what's up with that?"
Conrad scoffed. "I didn't know there was a normal way for ghosts to look. But, if you gotta know, we're not from around here. Bit farther east. Maybe it's a regional thing. Why do you know so much about ghosts, kid?"
"I am one, sorta," Danny explained. "But that's not the point. So you don't have a secret second form with like… green or blue skin, and weirdly sharp teeth?"
"That would be cool as fuck, but no."
"- Conrad, language. He's a kid."
"He's a teenager. Danny's probably heard a lot worse from his classmates. Now, you wanted to take us to your basement?"
Danny decided not to comment on the swearing, and turned to go back towards his home. The ghosts trailed behind him, not making much of a fuss beyond bickering with each other under their breaths. He couldn't tell what they were saying, but he was not about to get into whatever marital dispute was going on behind him.
Once they reached his home, he was careful to peer into the window to check if his parents were home. Danny saw nothing but an empty, dark house. Which could mean two things: his parents weren't home, or they were in the lab…
He'd figure it out later.
"So, my parents are sorta ghost hunters, and they'll definitely want to dissect you if they find out you're here. Maybe be a little quieter?" he suggested.
The two bickering ghosts stopped. Thank god.
"Just to be safe, let's go through the ceiling and check out if they're in their lab." Danny turned himself intangible and sank through the floor, confused when the other ghosts didn't do the same. He stopped himself halfway into the ground, waiting for them to catch up.
Conrad rubbed the back of his neck. "Kid… I think this may be another regional difference. Can't we just go through the front door?"
Danny stayed there, baffled at the idea of a ghost that couldn't go through walls. "What- What exactly can you two do?" The question of "Are you sure you're not zombies?" also came to mind, but he'd yet to see proof of the existence of zombies and refused to open that can of worms just yet.
"What do you mean 'what can we do'? We're ghosts, not superheroes," Poppet said with a huff.
"I think I made lights flicker on accident once, and Poppet possesses pencils sometimes, if that's what you're asking."
Danny couldn't help himself. "Where did you say you were from?" He needed to know where the hell these harmless, human-like ghosts came from. And why he was stuck with rejected X-Men.
"Ohio, why?"
Fucking Ohio ghosts. Yeah, alright. They probably died doing meth in a cornfield, hence the lack of nutty ghost powers. He wasn't going to say any of that aloud, but it was an explanation nonetheless.
Poppet narrowed their eyes. "I neglected to mention that mind-reading is one of my 'abilities'. I hope that helps clear things up."
Oops.
"Anyway, let's go to the basement!" He opened the door and marched over to the basement door. His cheeks were burning with embarrassment as he descended the stairs. Thankfully, the lights were off. Danny went over to the portal and began to power it on, hoping his cringing wasn't visible in the dull green light.
"Thanks for helping us, kid. Really, I wish there was some way we could pay you back. Is ghost money a thing here? I could probably shank a ghoul and come back here with a few bucks, if you want."
Danny's eyes widened. "No, I'm all good. Uh… if you meet any other ghosts, just tell them not to come to Amity Park to take over the world or whatever. That's all I need."
"Damn, if you're sure…" Conrad reached into his pockets and pulled out a wad of cash and some change. "Since you're alive-ish, you can probably put this to use better than we can. I insist."
Danny took the money, which must've been at least $100 in total.
"Oh- thanks? Um, the portal's open, so if you want to go now…"
"Hopefully we don't see ya later. It was nice meeting ya." Conrad took the other ghost's hand and disappeared through the portal. In the portal's pulsating light, Danny held up one of the coins, and realized it had a dark red crusted onto it.
Ah. So the shanking thing wasn't a joke. Danny shoved the dubiously-acquired cash in his pockets and decided not to reflect on the last couple of hours. Even if the ghosts were criminals by human standards, he was just glad they hadn't turned anyone into pumpkins or some weird bullshit like that.

MidgeLenny failing at sharing a bed platonically
(sexytimes ahoy)
He comes over to tell her that they should just stay friends and winds up getting stranded due to the snow.
Midge grins sheepishly at him and shrugs. "Turnabout is fair play, I guess." She takes a breath and looks around. "There's the kids' room again...or the couch. The couch is comfortable."
Lenny nods, thinking all of this over.
"Or, we're adults," Midge goes on. "We could share a bed without incident."
"Incident?" Lenny questions, lifting an eyebrow.
She huffs. "You know what I mean."
He chuckles and nods. "Yeah. Yeah, we can share a bed. It'll be fine."
His is, of course, wrong.
Because laying next to her in bed is fucking torture.
It's torture.
Midge is so beautiful, in her little nightgown. Her face devoid of make-up. Her hair soft and loose around her face.
He lays there on his back, staring at the ceiling in his undershorts and undershirt, breathing deeply, praying for fucking sleep.
Dear god. I know that - if you do in fact exist - I am far from your favorite person, but please. For the love of fuck just get me through tonight. Please don't let me spontaneously combust in this bed right in front of this beautiful woman that I will never be able to get enough of but cannot have. Please, fucksake, please.
Midge doesn't seem bothered for her part. She lies on her side, facing away from him, and all he wants is to curl around her, and breathe her in and hold her tightly but he's drawn this line in the send.
He wanted to be friends, and she agreed to it and now.
Fuck.
Eventually, he manages to fall asleep, and he finds himself blinking awake hours later, before dawn to find that Midge has rolled over to face him, her hand resting on his chest.
Lenny sighs softly, and before he realizes what he's doing, he's resting his hand on top of hers. Her eyes blink open and she gazes at him.
Dear god - this is all your fault. If you exist, you created me, and you made me fucking weak.
"Midge."
"Yeah?" she asks softly.
"Fuck it," he says.
Midge beams and sits up, leaning in to kiss him deeply, using her free hand to cup the back of his head, and he finds himself giving into whatever she wants. He lets his hands run over her, his hands slipping up her nightgown, touching her skin reverently.
He covers her, his lips running down her neck and chest before he slides lower. "I love this nightgown."
Midge huffs out a soft laugh. "Yeah?"
Lenny nods, gently slipping her panties down. "Easy access."
She moans softly, her hands slipping into his hair as he gets to work, inching her closer and closer to release, until she's shuddering and whimpering softly,
"Lenny...yes...please...oh..."
He moans softly against her before moving back up her body. "Fuck, Midge."
She kisses him deeply, holding him tightly, and he rocks against her, shuddering as her hands slide down to shove his undershorts down.
There's a scramble then, for them both to get out of their nightclothes and find a condom and finally, after what seems like forever, he's inside of her, his face pressed against her neck as he thrusts slowly, relishing the feel of being with her like this again.
He lifts his head and kisses her deeply, and he realizes that he cannot possibly stay away from her. He'd have to leave across the world to stay away.
"Lenny," she whispers desperately as he thrusts deeper, angling his hips to hit the spot that he remembers making her gasp last time, and it works now, her hand tightening in his hair.
He can feel how close she is as she quivers underneath him, her whimpers getting higher in pitch, and when she finally reaches her second release, it shoves him right over the edge, groaning softly into her shoulder as he thrusts deeper, causing her to shudder around him more.
"Oh my god," she breathes out hard. "Lenny..."
He moans again, still settled on top of her, his body and brain slow to restart post-orgasm, but Midge doesn't seem like she minds, her hands sliding over his back, almost lovingly.
He hopes lovingly.
"Lenny?"
"Hmm?"
"I don't think I can just be your friend," she says quietly, holding him tighter.
He huffs out a breath and kisses her temple. "I think that train left the station, Sweetheart."
"Good. Fuck that train."
He laughs softly.

[ phone draft things ♡ old request bc everyone who requests them likes to see them in pain, apparently ; kokonoi, inui ]
A sunflower.
The day you turned sixteen, a small, beautifully colored sunflower bloomed on the crease of your wrist. You remember the ache it brought you, looking over at Hajime who had also been waiting and you hated it, hated what you got and the world you lived in; your boyfriend wasn't even your soulmate. He was too scared to look for his, afraid of the same reason but when he looked up, he could see by your expression that it didn't look too good.
'What.. did you get?' You asked, clinging to that little bit of hope you had. You'd grown up with Hajime and honestly, a sunflower would have never come to mind for him. He looked around so he could answer, even having you check places he couldn't see, only to chuckle weakly.
'I didn't get one.'
You didn't know what was worse: the fact the world had given you someone you didn't know or the fact the boy you loved was fated, by the world's cruel game, to be alone. He smiled and shrugged, trying to hide how upset he was at the discovery. 'What about you?'
Holding your hand out, you mumbled; 'A sunflower.'
He traced it with his fingertips, the smile falling from his lips and his expression turning rather neutral. You didn't know what to do but your heart ached. 'But! But.. that doesn't matter! I love you. A silly little mark can't change that.' You nodded firmly and turned your arm, taking his hand, 'I don't know who it belongs to but it'll always be you.'
It seemed to brighten him a little but he was holding onto the doubt, insecurities growing rapidly in the back of his mind. Besides, you'd heard stories about people not being with their soulmates. You did your best to be optimistic, squeezing the raven's hand. If only you knew the thoughts blooming in your boyfriend's mind.
'Guess you got your marks,' interrupted a familiar voice and you looked up to see Seishu settling down at the table, dropping his chin into his palm. 'You don't look too happy.'
Hajime just shrugged and you frowned, giving the blind a pointed, disapproving look. 'What about you? What did you get?'
He shrugged slightly. 'Had a friend cover it up without finding it. I don't really care to know.. it'll just be annoying.' He had a point and maybe you should do the same, just cover it and forget it. You took the bit of advice and searched through your bag for the first aid kit you always carried along.
Upon finding it, you dug around and eventually placed a bandage over the mark, content that it was now hidden. 'There. It's like it doesn't even exist now. Come on! Why don't we go get something for lunch, huh? My treat.'
Seishu hummed and just got up, waiting for you both. Hajime hesitated but got up, holding onto your hand a little tighter than usual. 'Yeah, let's.. get some food. Maybe it'll get rid of all of this.' He offered a small smile, falling into step towards your usual place. You really wished there was something you could do.
--
Staring ahead of you at the door, you spaced out entirely, even as it opened to two familiar faces walking in. Hajime and Seishu shed their uniform coats as they came in, stopping to look at you with rather concerned expressions. 'Everything okay?' Your boyfriend questioned, eyebrow going up as he moved to settle beside you.
'Huh? Oh! Yeah, just spaced out,' you chuckled, closing your book and setting it aside, watching the way the blond made sure the uniform wasn't going to wrinkle. However, it was while looking at him that you saw it, the mark he'd gotten on his birthday. Hajime, still being concerned about the state they found you in, followed your gaze and before you could somehow stop him, he saw it.
'What..?' Was all he really managed to say as he got back to his feet, eyes widened and expression showing nothing but shock. It melted away into that same heartbroken face you'd seen the day he learned he didn't have a mark. 'No.. no, it's not..? It's not..' he couldn't manage to get out a full sentence, hardly able to comprehend what he just learned.
Turning around and looking between you, Seishu was visibly confused. 'What? What happened?'
You just looked down, hand over your wrist and trying to figure out a way to make it better but would anything really work?
'Your mark, Seishu.' Hajime had his hands curled into fists, trying to settle himself down. He didn't know if he wanted to curse him out or cry or just pretend he didn't see it. 'Your fucking mark. Did you know?'
The question made you curious but why did it matter? Seishu said he kept it covered because he didn't care. That wasn't really uncharacteristic of him, so why was it suddenly coming up. That was, until the blond let out a sigh.
'Didn't at first because I really didn't want to know,' he answered, shrugging, 'when I realized what is was, I kept it covered for your sake. It's not like I asked for it. It doesn't matter.' His hand raised to offer a dismissive wave but that wasn't the end of it.
Hajime broke down slightly at the words, no longer able to hold back the tears that threatened his waterline. 'So? Does it really not matter? Or, are you saying that for my sake, too?'
You stayed quiet, watching the two and hoping it didn't end up in an actual fight. Seishu shifted awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck, no doubt debating on his answer. In the end, he decided to be honest and quite frankly, you wished he'd kept his mouth shut.
'It still doesn't matter. I don't care what a mark has to say. I liked Y/n before I got this stupid thing.'
You wanted the world to open up and swallow you whole hearing the confession and Hajime, well, that was the final straw for him. He shook his head and left the room, roughly pushing past the person considered his best friend. Seishu nor you moved, staying in silence and wondering just how things would go from that moment on. Had you just lost your relationship because of fate's cruelty? Had Seishu lost his best friend? Your own tears began to fall as you thought, pulling your knees close to your chest. Eventually, Seishu left the room.

In volume 9, team RWBY will face revelations about their identities. This volume is the one where all of team RJWBY crack their eggs
Haha, that would be something. I can imagine Jaune calling her mother when she gets back like "guess what mom, turns out you have an 8th daughter."
I am really curious how they're going to be exploring the team's identifies this volume. The theme of "identity" was heavily featured in the synopsis, teaser, and clip, so I assume it'll be a major part of the volume. We know, or we're all pretty confident in the idea that the Ever After is basically going to be Therapy Island where a lot of the characters try to process a lot of their issues and traumas, it'll be interesting to see how their sense of identity is developed as they work through all their stuff.
My friend @shera-dnd pondered if maybe Ruby might come out as nonbinary in this volume, which, while not actually likely, would be really cool. And it does make some bit of sense. Ruby's already being voiced by a nonbinary voice actor, so it'd fit that way. Plus, in past volumes Ruby has repeatedly shown discomfort with overly feminine things, maybe Ruby will explore exactly where on the gender spectrum they do feel comfortable. On top of the mountain of repressed trauma and grief that Ruby has been bottling up forever.
Weiss' issues with identity could be tied to her family. She wasn't the kind Schnee her father was, and in volumes 7 & 8 she learned that she's not the kind of Schnee her sister is either.
I'll be honest I'm not totally sure what Blake's going to face in the Ever After. The show's actually done a good job of having Blake work through a lot of her issues during volumes 1-6. But those could always come roaring back up, especially since she wasn't able to save Yang at the end. Even though Yang's not actually dead, I could see Blake feeling a tremendous amount of guilt over it. I have no idea how her identity might be explored, though, except maybe what it means to be a Faunus in a world that still discriminates against Faunus.
Yang. Oof I could probably write a WHOLE LOT about Yang (she's one of my favorite characters). In terms of identity, I think there's a good chance that'll be related to her sexuality. Besides one throwaway line in the second episode of volume 1, Yang hasn't shown any interest in men. Meanwhile, she's shown an obvious desire for Blake, and has been dressing in butchier and butchier outfits since Beacon. Maybe she's not lesbian (even though I'm personally rooting for her to be one), but she's definitely not straight. But what even is sexual attraction when you spend most of your time suppressing and pushing down your own wants and desires because you think the only value you have is your ability to be of use to the people you care about, especially Ruby and Blake.
The obvious thing for Jaune will be him dealing with his participation in Penny's death. Will he think of himself as a monster? A murderer? A failure as a Huntsman and leader? Poor Jauney-boy's going to be a mess this volume.
I'm also really interested in Neopolitan in volume 9 (she's also one of my favorite characters). Neo's rejected her existence for just about her entire life, eventually even abandoning her name in order to live out a fantasy of playing cops and robbers with Roman. Her life was carefree and driven by an almost child-like hedonism until she lost Roman. Since then the only thing driving her has been a misguided quest to avenge his death. But without that, who is Neopolitan? At this point, I'm not sure she knows the answer to that.
Goodness volume 9 is going to be SO MUCH FUN. And by fun I mean we're going to be witnessing our gang go through just the most trauma, and I can't wait.

THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING GILMORE GIRLS, SEASON 1/ EPISODE 9 ("RORY'S DANCE")
What happens in this episode: Lorelai convinces Rory to go to the Chilton dance even though she didn't really want to. Dean goes with her. Dean and Tristan meet and predictably form a whirling vortex of douchebaggery. A tornado of shitfuckery. Rory and Dean fall asleep at Miss Patty's and Lorelai has a shit-fit. Some boring scenes occur with Lorelai, Emily and bananas on toast. Paris and Tristan do not get eaten by bears. Memorable Quotes: "It'll be all sparkly and exciting, you'll be standing on the dance floor while some great looking guy stares at you so hard that you won't even realize that Paris and Tristan have just been eaten by bears." "Dean does not hang out in trees." "It'll be stuffy, and boring, the music will suck, since none of the kids like me, I'll be standing at the back listening to 98 Degrees watching Tristan and Paris argue over which one of them can make me miserable first." Oh come on Rory. 98 Degrees were great. And on the middle rung of the 90s boyband hierarchy too- she could have said Nsync or Backstreet Boys instead- so I'm awarding two nostalgia points. Future Nostalgia points will be awarded for the 98 Degrees poster Emily eventually puts up in her room. I was just thinking, "Okay Dean's behavior isn't all that bad yet", but then I remembered this is the episode where Dean and Tristan punch each other. Look what you made me do. I almost gave you benefit of the doubt, you three ring butt circus. Here we go, Tristin is harrassing Rory again, but she's holding her ground.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I gotta admit, this Paris having a crush on Tristan thing feels weird and unnatural to me. He was "nice" to Rory? Paris is not that stupid. Why would she have a crush on such a huge prick? She hated Logan and as we all know, Tristin is just Low-Calorie Diet Logan. And also she really belongs with Rory instead. Is it Tristan or Tristin? I'm probably going to go back and forth between both spellings. Memorable Quote: "You're slimy and weasly, yes, but stupid, no. But you'd have to be stupid, given our history, to think I would EVER, barring a piano or safe falling on my head, want to go anywhere with you...EVER."
Tumblr media
A very correct assesment of Dean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dean Forrester everyone! "The Good Kid/Perfect Boyfriend"
Tumblr media
It's no Big Silver Dick Rocket (the one Logan gifted Rory) but it's got its charm.
Tumblr media
I adore these two babes. Highly unrrated friend pair. Rory is surprised when she finds out that Paris took her cousin to the dance but Rory dated a boy who would eventually become her step-cousin, lol. Both the teenage girls AND adult women on the show are jealous of Rory for dating Dean, Tristan is jealous of Dean for dating Rory and now Paris' cousin is hitting on Rory. Dean and Rory are both very ordinary people so this is mind boggling to me. To quote the great Dorothy Zbornak, he has the personality of a dial tone. Huh. Dean is being suspiciously sweet, polite, well behaved and charmingly awkward so far. It's all about to go to hell. Dean and Tristan run into each other and get into a pointless confrontation over nothing. A vortex of douchebaggery opens up at the Chilton dance when two clowns meet. Dozens of students witness the confrontation. There are no teachers or chaperones anywhere in sight. The fight continues to escalate with very little interference.
Tumblr media
Well, I guess not every insult can surpass the burn of Dean calling Jess "The Glad Man" for taking out the garbage.
Tumblr media
Red flag. Red Flag. Red Flag. Red Flag. There' s still time Rory.
Tumblr media
I always wondered if Rory is flattered that boys are constantly beating the shit out of each other over her, or does she find it embarrassing?
Tumblr media
What does this even MEAN?
Tumblr media
Poor Rory. She looks like a defeated little mouse. Memorable Quote: "I'm not fighting you, it would be like fighting an accountant! I'll call you when I need my taxes done!" -Dean to Tristan WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! How does Tristan look like an accountant? AT ALL? Wouldn't an accountant stereotype be wearing glasses or something? My god, Dean Forrester has the WORST burns, but they're so bad they make me laugh. Dean shoved Tristan earlier. Tristan now lunges at Dean and they get into a fight. Dean calls Tristan an idiot and threatens to kill him. Within the span of two years, Dean gets into two violent fights with another boy over Rory. To Dean's credit: Tristan was really being an asshole here and getting right up in Dean's face, not letting him move, repeatedly, and lunges at Dean; and Dean did say "I'm not going to fight you", so I will give him something of a pass (not pulling the fulll Dean Card though) for trying to defend himself, but his temper was still scary and Rory should have been very concerned. Instead they merrily stroll away from the whole thing and go out for coffees. Then there was the time he started fighting Jess totally unprovoked (and somehow Jess got the blame for that one?) but that episode is a doozy for a much later time.
Tumblr media
Menacing shit. Tristan then tries to confront Dean AGAIN.
Tumblr media
CMM looks 12 here. What are we fighting for, dudes? No offense to Rory. But she's just not worth this. And, you're both walking red flags. She deserves better. Rory and Dean leave the dance, walking home calmly discussing the dance, like two people didn't just escape being arrested for assault or at a minimum, Tristan could have gotten expelled or suspended (but he will be eventually). They just left the dance like nothing ever happened. No one followed them out or asked them any questions. Rory: "I don't know how I feel about this. Having my boyfriend defend my honor." Welp it feels like it would be exhauting since this "honor defending" will continue to keep happening to her. Oh okay. Dean is now officially Rory's boyfriend. That seems like a reasonable conclusion to what just transpired.
Tumblr media
And Jess brings books to strip clubs, what's your point?
Tumblr media
Dean: What are all these little symbols on the paper? Rory: Those are called words Dean is now going to read aloud from the book and yet no one fucking asked.
Tumblr media
It's the Karen Brigade! Lorelai understandably loses her shit after Rory doesn't come home after the dance, but I'd really hate to see what would have happened if that was Jess instead.
Tumblr media
Rory really should have saved herself for Jess. Sigh.
Tumblr media
...yet. BIG yet. The Bad: Red Flags galore. Rory and Dean are now an official couple. Barf. The Meh: There was too much juicy drama to make the scenes of Emily and Lorelai at home eating toast on the couch seem interesting. I eventually just started to skip past them. Lauren Graham's shit-fits are so dramatic and over the top! The Confusing: Dean and Tristan nearly kill each other, so Rory and Dean make their relationship official. Dean's insults make no sense. Paris once again witnesses Tristan harrassing Rory and has a confusing reaction.
