I would very much like for Bruce to learn the actual circumstances of Jason's death (with his mothers betrayal and his attempt to save her from the joker), and for Jason to learn that Bruce has been running round telling everyone he died because he was reckless and disobedient.

i genuinely think that jason could and would be content with an ordinary life, especially if bruce were a civilian too. in another life i would have really enjoyed just being your son. a 10pm bedtime and slippers instead of pixie boots.

Consider Jason Todd winter soldier au
Just consider it
The resurrection goes mostly the same, what with digging himself out of his own grave and canon seems to proceed as normal (with alight changes to the actions/motives of the league of assassins) up until the events of under the red hood
The red hood comes to gotham and is just significantly less talkative than he was originally. Word spreads about a new crime boss in the arra so obviously batman goes to check it out. There's less stuff targeted at Bruce himself but still enough.
The confrontation goes mostly the same, Bruce and Jason on a rooftop in the rain. The cowl comes off. Bruce has his suspicions about who is under the mask but nothing concrete up until that point.
"Let's make it even," the red hood reaches up to his helmet and unlatches it. Leaving only a boy in his domino mask, face now being soaked by the rain that is pouring. Black hair falling down the sides of his face.
"Jason..."
"Who the hell is Jason," there's nothing behind his eyes. No unchecked rage, no intentional apathy, no lingering fondness for the man who took him in. Nothing.
Bruce then proceeds to break a teeny bit there and everything is disrupted. There was never an attack on Tim because as opposed to canon Jason at this time, the pit madness is held at bay for the brainwashing (conditioning?)

Jason is a hopeless romantic 100%
it just doesnt show
But everyone goes to him whn its time to plan dates
Dick: Hey, can I ask you something?
Jason, reading: No.
Dick: You see, Wally and I have our weekly date night coming up, but we've been to pretty much every place there is. You got any ideas for how to shake things up?
Jason: *scribbles coordinates and tosses him the Bat-plane keys*
[later]
Wally: Wow, I've never been to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Dick: I'm glad you like it.
Dick: *texts Jason a thumbs up*
Jason: *read at 8:55 PM*
———————
Tim: Jason, glad you're here! I totally forgot it's me and Bernard's six-month anniversary. Help me out, man.
Jason, clipping his toenails: Fine. You better write this down 'cause I'm only saying it once.
Tim: *nods*
Jason: Go to Home Depot. You're gonna need some rope, a tarp, hammer and nails, a hatchet, matches, and fuel. After that...
Tim: *furiously takes notes*
[later]
Bernard: A camping trip was a great idea. It's nice to get away from it all. And I can't believe you set this all up yourself.
Tim, chuckling nervously: What's a boyfriend for if not to build a tent and chop down a tree?
———————
Duke: So the school dance is coming up.
Jason, working: Theme?
Duke: Under the sea.
Jason: Ugh, how cliché. Anyway, Armand's Tailoring has a blue suit that'll match whatever your girlfriend's wearing. Tell him I sent you. After that, call Patricia's Bistro and make a reservation with the code word "surreptitious." Alfred can take you in the limo if you give him a 24-hour heads-up to clean it. Once you're there, remind the DJ he owes me a favor to get your song requests bumped up. And remember, a slow dance is basically moving your feet in a square but otherwise go with the flow.
Duke: Sweet, thanks!
———————
Cass: Steph is sad.
Jason, cooking: *sighs*
Jason: *takes out a tub of ice cream*
Jason: *scoops a hole in the middle*
Jason: *fills it with candy*
Jason: Here.
Cass: Thanks!
———————
*phone rings*
Jason, waking up from a nap: What?
Kory: Sorry if I woke you. Barbara's coming over for breakfast in half an hour but I burned it with my powers. It was supposed to be eggs benedict.
Jason: Order takeout and put it on fancy plates.
Kory: You're a lifesaver—
Jason: *already hung up and went back to sleep*
———————
Kate: It's Renee's birthday tomorrow. I have a gift, but I'm not sure if it's good enough.
Jason, polishing his gun: If it's from you, it will be.
———————
Bruce: *walks in*
Bruce: Hey, son. Selina's not talking to me after our argument. How do I tell her how much she means to me?
Jason, reciting Shakespeare: I know no ways to mince it in love, but directly to say, "I love you."
Bruce: You're right. I'm just gonna tell it to her straight. Thank you.
Bruce: *leaves*
Jason: *takes off his headphones and turns around*
Jason: Did someone say something?
———————
Damian: Todd, what is love supposed to feel like?
Jason: Why do you want to know?
Damian: None of your concern. Now tell me.
Jason: *shoots a training dummy*
Jason: It's when they're lodged in your head like a bullet. Except without the excruciating pain and messy red stuff.
Damian, nodding: Tell me more.
———————
Roy: *takes down a villain*
Jason, sitting on a roof: *wolf whistles*
Roy: The hell?
Jason: I know hot when I see it.
Roy: What are you doing here?
Jason: I brought Arrowdogs.
Roy: You hate Arrowdogs.
Jason: But you don't.
Roy: Aw, how sweet—EYES UP HERE, TODD!

Jason carries the weight of every horrible, traumatic, and agonizing event that’s ever happened to him across his body, etched in pale and raised lines across him like a used roadmap. He wears them as cruel reminders that this life is unfair and unjust, even when he tries his hardest to make it so. There are some he pays no mind to, and doesn’t even really notice most days because they are there. That’s that. But, there are others…there are others he looks at as a punishment for everything he’s ever done and everything he never was and could never be. They’re reminders, laughing back at him every day, a sinister echo of his mistakes.
Most days, he tries to pay them no mind, either.
You’re sitting on your knees right beside Jason, his side pressed against the bare skin of your calf. Your eyes are trained on his exposed abdomen, showcasing the scars and cuts and bruises he’s collected over the last few years.
It wasn’t that seeing his body covered in new and old injuries was jarring. That was mostly fine. After the first few weeks of being friends, it stopped being jarring because that's just how it is with Jason. He gets hurt sometimes. It comes with the job and you accept that part of him. The bruises and cuts were very rarely ever jarring. The other scars were never really jarring because of course he has them. That always made sense to you. It's the autopsy scar that is jarring.
With the others, he'd told you it comes with the job and then he'd watch your face contort into a scrunch of worry and paranoia over his well-being, something he doesn't think he deserves most days. When the comment didn't ease your worry, he'd kiss you and give his signature cocky grin, a silent promise that he's fine and the conversation would end. The autopsy scar conversation is never so simple.
You knew he died because he told you not long before you made things official. You knew the story about the Joker and his mom. He told you of the horrid night and bits of pieces of the after. But this is your first time seeing the physical damage of the night that still wakes him up in the middle of the night. Your chest aches for him and it's jarring because he did die and he has to carry that kind of weight forever, something you'll swear until the day you die he doesn't deserve.
With delicate fingers, you trace over the long line of the autopsy scar, Jason’s eyes glancing from your hand to your face. His stomach tenses with the movement and you can’t tell if it’s because your hands are cold, it tickles, or he’s uncomfortable. If you know Jason, you’re kind of figuring it’s the third option. So, you glance back to him, chewing the inside of your cheek.
“This okay?” You ask softly.
“It’s fine.” Jason answers, his thumb lightly brushing over your thigh furthest away from him. “Bother you?”
Jason has been cautious not to show you because he knows how he feels about it. He knows that you worry. Seeing some sort of proof of death seems like it might send you spiraling into some sort of tornado of worry until you spin too far away from him. He's been cautious because he adores you and he doesn't want to lose you and he doesn't want it scare you.
You look back to the scar, tracing over it again. “No.” You answer quietly. It hurts your chest because it happened to him. It happened to him and nothing in this world could ever justify the torture and pain he's been through. It doesn't bother you because it is a part of him and you adore him with every beat your heart drums. “Bothers you though.”
Jason’s brows pull together. “How’d you figure?” There’s the slightest bit of a bite in his words like a scared puppy, a default reaction to being seen.
“Why wouldn’t it?” The question leaves your lips freely with unfiltered candor.
Seeing it for the first time, yeah it bothered him. It bothered him because what was the point? It wasn’t some mystery how he died. Maybe it was just legal reasons bullshit that Jason doesn’t care about. Though, he does fully understand that maybe if he hadn’t come back, he wouldn’t care. Or if it had healed, he wouldn’t care. So, that’s something he can’t really blame Bruce for. Instead, it’s that it’s there. Looking back at him in the mirror. Staring up at him when he looks down. It’s always there. It’s as if he was cut open and the weight of death and punishment and regret scattered over his organs and bones, making sure he understands the weight of his own consequences. He just can’t quite shake it and the scar is the reminder.
"I guess." Jason lets out this shaky breath as his stomach tenses below your fingertips.
"It's okay if it bothers you, Jay." You assure him. "I'd bother me if I were you but..." You pause for just a second, pressing an open palm over some of the raised edges of the scar as your eyes are locked on his. "I hope it doesn't bother you too much because you got to live and I don't care what the other bats thought about it at first because I'm glad you got to come back. And you deserve to let the weight off your shoulders for once." Your eyes go back to the scar and trace up the line from the center of his stomach up to the right side of his chest.
Jason's thumb is rubbing lightly against your skin and he wonders why you make it seem so simple. No part of him thinks you believe it's simple but there's something in the way that you say it that almost gives Jason some sort of faith in the idea of it. That maybe there is a day where it won't feel like he's carrying the weight of the world. Maybe there is a day someday where he won't feel the aching and longing of his bones. You offer him tenderness and kindness when the majority of his life has been nothing but skinned knees and broken hearts.
That feels terrifying, too but...maybe he's tired of running away from things because they're good for him. And good to him.
Seeing the autopsy scar for the first time bothered him. Seeing it yesterday bothered him. But, at this exact point in time with your fingers running along the tattered edges, it doesn’t bother him so much.
“Thank you.” Jason holds his words steady with a sort of caution at the edges. "It's not bothering me now." His voice is quiet as his eyes glance to you and then back to your fingers on his skin.
He is entirely exposed to you now. There’s no going back even if that is absolutely terrifying. Jason keeps himself guarded to protect himself and protect everyone else around him. But, you make letting the guard down a little bit easier. You’re tender and delicate with him, two things no one ever is. At no point have you ever thought less of him for the things he’s done and things he’s seen, or the things that rip his body to shreds. You take him as he is and offer him understanding and kindness, two things Jason has been desperate to get from anyone. And he is so thankful for you.
“Good.” Your voice is quiet before your stare goes back to the scar. “I hope it never bothers you again.”
Jason sits up, closing some of the distance between you while you rest your hands in your lap. His eyes run over your face slowly while the corner of his mouth is pinched barely upwards. He looks content. He looks comfortable. His heart is beating a mile a minute as it’s about to run through his ribs. There’s something fluttering against it, something that feels warm and welcoming in the beating of his heart. There’s something that makes his breathing unsteady without ever sucking the air from his lungs. There is something that feels comfortable and like a home he didn’t think he’d ever find.
Jason leans forward, resting his forehead against yours and your entire body relaxes in that instant. He pulls away, pressing a kiss to your nose and then to your cheek before he rests his head in the crook of your neck. You turn your head and press a kiss to his temple before your hands come to his cheeks to pick his head up.
His eyes lock on your eyes and you adore him. You adore him for all that he is today. The scars never really bothered you because they hold him together. All of them have a story that has led Jason Todd to who he is today. They are proof that he is alive. They are proof that even when he was hurt, even when he was murdered, he is alive. The air can be pulled into his lungs and oxygen will circulate through his cells again. He is alive. The autopsy scar is just further proof to you because he shouldn’t have been brought back but he was. And that was for a reason. That scar is just another piece of proof he is meant to be here. It is another mark of how he got here today and you, for one, are eternally thankful that he is here today.
Your thumbs are running over his cheeks and Jason swears he has never felt so wanted by anyone. And he doesn’t feel so damn alone in the world anymore. He feels important and he only hopes he makes you feel the same way. He can only hope you understand how much you mean to him and that he is just as important to you.
Your lips come to his and he melts into your touch as he kisses you back. His hand comes up to the back of your head to pull you in closer. And he thinks he might do everything in his power to have more moments like these with you. You can trace his scars and he can tell you about them and you can exist in the bubble where it is only the two of you. You can trace his scars and he can run his fingers along your thigh and you both can feel wanted and important. And loved.

Rescuer
Pairing: Jason Todd x (hero) reader
Word Count: 2610
Warnings: Mentions of blood, needles, death, stitches, a bit angsty but then fluff, not really proof read
Summary: After getting hurt on patrol, Jason comes to rescue you from your captors, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.
Tumblr media
Maybe you had been captured and moved to a new location. Maybe you were bleeding out in some rat-infested warehouse. Maybe you were- Jason wouldn’t think that. He couldn’t think that. The mere image of your body gone cold sent chills down his spine and sent him into overdrive.
Rain pelted against his helmet as he sped through the streets of Gotham. He knew that splitting up was a bad idea. Bruce had wanted to split the patrol teams up to ensure that Ivy’s shipments were being handled. You were supposed to be fine, the shipment you were going after was meant to be a dud. Bruce had valiantly offered to put himself in danger by going after the suspected live shipment. Apparently, the information had been bad, and now Jason was rushing to your distress call, flying past cars crowding his way and cursing Bruce for making Jason leave you. Jason knew that you could handle yourself, it was why he was okay leaving you alone. You were a match for every member of the family and rouges gallery, he was sure that if you had called a distress signal, something terrible had happened.
Jason felt like he was the only one coming for you. He had left his brothers in the dust when he heard the blaring alarm coming from your comm. The others were coming, but it wasn’t fast enough for him. As he flew through the city streets, he came to a group of warehouses on the West Side where he knew you were located. The signal became stronger and stronger as he reached the roof of the specific warehouse. Looking down, he saw a group of guards standing around you. You were lying on the floor, blood pooling under your body. The site made a harsh wave of fury swell up in his chest. Jason felt his arms go numb and his breathing quicken.
“Those bastards” he thought. They must have been under the control of Ivy’s venom. This was the only way he could justify your current position.
“ETA 5 minutes, do not engage.” Bruce’s voice rang out.
“Bullshit,” Jason spat, “I’m going after her. She’s surrounded.”
“No, stay low and report.” The voice of Bruce rang into his ear, “Don’t leave post, that’s an order”
Jason observed the scene below him and saw one of the men walking towards you, his foot grazing the side of your arm and applying a pressure that made you wince in pain. Dark circles were forming under your eyes, indicating the presence of Ivy’s venom. At this, nothing could have stopped Jason.
The sound of glass shattering echoed through the building as the man who had his foot on you fell to the ground following a piercing boom. The clank of his gun falling on the floor next to your head sent a heavier pounding sensation through your already aching skull. You groaned and tried to roll over away from the noise, only to realize that it was everywhere.
“Jason must be here.” You thought.
Jason saw you try to move, and his heart ached. He knew that you were in pain, incapacitated from whatever happened earlier. The gaggle of men aimed their weapons towards him and opened fire as he ran through the shadows, avoiding the bullet spray as he was trained to. Grabbing for his holster, he drew his pistol and aimed for the would-be leader of the gang. The man dropped to the floor, the familiar sounds of metal clashing against the floor ringing out once more. A call to action rolled through the room as Jason emerged from the shadows, bullets from his pistol now raining on the perpetrators. Two men attempted to tackle him at once, ending in Jason wrapping them together with a line and executing them with little scrutiny of their situation. Another shot at him, nearly grazing the side of his armor before he too dropped to the ground from a shot Jason had sent to him. As the fight went on, Jason steadily dismantled the group, turning his attention to the last man he saw standing who had dropped his weapon, knowing that he was out of ammunition.
The man screamed as Jason leapt onto him, fists flying high and hard, the sounds of cracking under his knuckles filling your ears. Blood spurted from the man’s mouth, signaling not only broken teeth, but internal bleeding. After a minute, the man stopped struggling, Jason continuing his blind rage driven beating. You turned to him, trying to move closer to your only safety when you saw one of the seemingly incapacitated men reaching for a dropped gun from a fallen comrade and reach it around Jason’s head.
“You’ll end up just that like bitch, Hood.” He spat, holding the gun closer to Jason’s head, “Don’t move or I’ll-“
The sound of a shot rang through the room and then the clashing of a body on the floor. You had mustered the last of your strength, grabbing the rifle the man who Jason had killed first had dropped next to your head. Squinting to avoid seeing double, you braced against the floor and pulled the trigger once you were certain your aim would withstand against the drug working through your system. With a groan, you fell back once more, dropping the weapon and sprawling against the concreate floor.
Jason flew towards you, sliding on his knees on the floor once he came within a foot or so of you. You winced when he picked you up into his arms, still on the ground to assess the damage.
“Come on baby, you’re okay. Where’s the wound Y/N/N?” He asked, panic lacing his voice.
“Jason” Was all you could say groaning into the pain you felt.
“It’s okay Y/N/N, I’m here. Where are you hurt?” He started stripping your outer gear, searching for a stab, a shot, something that would indicate what was wrong.
His hands roaming your side were what found a deep stab wound. Ripping open the clothes in the impacted area, he saw that the skin was already bruising, a green liquid staining the outside of your skin.
“They got her with a venom laced knife.” Jason said into the comm.
“Use the antidote, it should treat it immediately.” Dick answered, finally running into the room where you were, “Inject it by the site of the wound, about a centimeter from the center.”
Dick looked around at the carnage and then saw his brother cradling you in the center. The sight made his skin crawl. Blood was everywhere, a mixture of everyone’s who was unlucky enough the stand in the wake of Jason’s rage. If Bruce didn’t show up, Dick wouldn’t say anything to him. You were almost limp in Jason’s arms, eyes fluttering open and shut every minute or so. Dick heard Jason talking to you gently and his heart sank at your condition.
“This is gonna pinch baby. You can do it, I’ve got you.” Jason said, injecting the antidote as quickly as possible.
You groaned, not appreciating the stinging rushing into your side once more.
“ETA 5 minutes.” Tim’s voice rang into the comms, “Batmobile is ready for transport.”
“Forget it,” Jason said into it, “I’ve got the antidote, get the med bay ready in the cave.”
“You can’t take her on your bike Jason.” Dick interjected, “She’s not in condition for it.”
“You got any better ideas Dick?” Jason said, a tone of frustration coming through his voice, “We’re both on bikes and she doesn’t have five extra minutes in her.”
Jason bound a bandage tight around your side, stopping the bleeding as best he could. You had a vice grip around his arm as the stinging and sheer pain of the antidote flooding through and eradicating the venom swept through your body.
“Fine, you take her to the cave, I’ll handle Gordon and venom recovery.” Dick said, the sound of sirens starting to blare in the distance.
Jason gave a nod of thanks to Dick before turning his complete attention to you.
“Y/N/N can you hear me, baby?” Jason asked, running a hand over your forehead and into your hair.
You groaned in response, not able to muster a “yes”. The lights in the warehouse and the bright red from his helmet that he hadn’t had time to take off yet were blinding you and you shut your eyes once more.
“Stay with me babe, I’m going to pick you up now and get you on the bike. Can you handle that?” Jason asked.
                  “Mhmm.” You mustered up.
Strong arms wrapped around you and hoisted you into the air. You instinctively curled into his chest, an arm wrapped around his neck and onto his shoulder. Your head lulled back, all strength to hold yourself up leaving you.
“Good job doll. I’ve got you now.” He said, breaking into a run towards the bike.
It was still raining when Jason reached where he parked his bike, sliding you onto the seat and placing himself behind you to support you.
“This is the hardest part baby; you can do it.” You heard the clink of the kickstand go up and the load roar of the engine coming to life.
In a sudden motion, you knew you were speeding out of the complex and onto the main road, Jason weaving the bike throughout traffic. Every few seconds he’d glance down to check that you were still breathing. You tried your best to keep yourself up, not wanting to lean against Jason too much as to not throw him off. He seemed to notice this struggle quickly.
“You’re okay Y/N. Relax, I’ve got you.”
It seemed like an eternity yet only a few seconds before Jason rolled into the Batcave. Feelings arms around you once more, you were picked up and ran to the med bay.
“You’re okay Y/N, we’re here now, you’re going to be fine.” It seemed like Jason was saying these things, more so to convince himself that you were alright.
“She’s got the antidote going through her system.” You heard him say, “She needs stitches.”
“Lay her here.” Alfred’s voice chimed in.
You could have smiled upon hearing Alfred. Knowing you were in good hands, you went totally limp on the table, not having a care in the world. Jason’s fingers brushed against your face as an oxygen mask was strapped over your head.
“Indeed, this is a nasty wound Miss. Y/N.” He quipped, not truly confident that you were listening, but merely trying to cut the tension in the room and relax Jason, “No matter, it’s nothing I cannot handle.”
The clear plastic of the mask you were wearing fogged and cleared, giving perfect indication that you were still breathing. Jason was working on removing your gear as carefully as possible to not get in Alfred’s way. Minutes had passed and the stinging sensation of Alfred stitching up and disinfecting your wounds had subsided. A pain killer must have been administered to you as you were out of consciousness. You heard Jason and Bruce talking loudly but not arguing, something that made you feel better about the entire situation. Loud steps came closer to you, the familiar sound of Jason’s boots making thud noises against the stone floor of the med bay.
“She’ll be fine Master Jason.” Alfred assured him, “I say the best course of action is having her cleaned up and in bed, not this blasted table.”
“Will do.” You heard Jason say, “Thank you Alfred.”
“It is my honor, Master Jason.” “I am only glad that you arrived when you did.”
“You and me both.” Jason mumbled, picking you up once more.
“Let’s get you cleaned up doll.” He said gently, walking towards the elevator that led into the rest of the house, “Does that sound good to you?”                   “yea, sounds great.” You answered softly, strength slowly returning to you as the antidote was steadily working against the venom.
You closed your eyes again and the next thing you knew was the cold sensation of marble against your skin. Looking around, you saw that you were in Jason’s bathroom, and he was standing over the bathtub faucet, adjusting the temperature as to not be too hot or cold.
“You alright baby?” He asked, walking back over to where you were and kissing your temple, “You scared me back there.”
“Sorry Jaybird.” You replied weakly, “Got ambushed.”
“It’s okay doll, you’re okay now.” “Just rest, I’ll get you cleaned up and in bed.” He said, “Is that still okay with you?”
“Yea,” you answered, “thanks Jay.”
He nodded, dipping a soft washcloth into the warm water, and lathering soap onto it. The bubbly water tingled against your skin as he dragged the cotton rag against your skin as gently as possible. You felt safe with Jason, no matter how close to demise you had come earlier.
“It was stupid.” You thought to yourself, “How could I be so careless?”
You sighed in disappointment, alerting Jason of your thoughts.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Just- stupid of me.” You groaned, “Jumped by a bunch of Ivy’s minions.” “That’s not supposed to happen.”
“Don’t beat yourself up over it. We all have bad nights Y/N/N.” Jason softly kissed your lips, earning another, more satisfied sigh from you.
“I guess.” You weren’t going to argue with him after that.
“Besides, we got the venom shipment covered now.” He tried to assure you, “Don’t worry about anything.”
“I don’t think I have the energy to worry.”
Jason chuckled, grabbing a new towel to dry your air as carefully as possible.
“I’ve got to go to the bathroom now.” You said, sitting up.
Jason nodded, lifting you out of the tub again and into the little room with the toilet. Closing the door after handing you a pair of his sweatpants, he started cleaning up. You walked back out, hair still dripping on the floor.
“Come here love.” He said, pulling you into a tight, yet soft embrace and kissing the top of your head.
Wrapping his arms around you again, he sat you onto the counter and opened the bottle of toner that you kept on your side of the sink. He helped you pull one of his old t shirts over your head and smoothed it out once you had it on.
“You don’t have to do that Jay.” You said, hands softly gripping against his free wrist.
“It’s okay doll, I want to.” “Just let me take care of you.”
A soft cotton pad glided against your face as he swept the toner over your skin. After that, he slathered your other skincare products across your face, following the routine he knew you used. Your heart swelled knowing that he had memorized something so seemingly unimportant. It meant a lot that he cared so much to understand you.
“Let’s get you to bed.” Once again, he wrapped his arms around you to pick you up.
“I can walk there.” You said, grabbing onto his arms for support.
“I know you can baby but let me do it for you.”
Jason carried you to the bed and set you under the covers, pulling them over your shoulders and sliding in behind you. Arms settled around you as you pushed yourself into his chest, taking in the warmth and comfort that he provided.
“I’m glad you’re okay Y/N.” He said, “Wake me up if you need anything. I love you Y/N/N.”
You mumbled a response under your breath, the feeling of safety and comfort flushing out any troubles or worries you carried with you from the mission.

“Jason?” You gasped as he used his body to press you against the dirty alley wall. Even through the suit his bulge was obvious. His helmet had been previously discarded and you shivered at the feeling of his breath against your lips.
“Jason, what the hell are you doing?” You all but whimpered, making him growl and place a hand on your neck.
“Stop fucking saying my name like that.” He hissed, pushing his hips harder into yours. Your breath hitched at the wild look in his eyes, the color almost completely gone. He squeezed his eyes shut and tightened his grip on your neck. The groan he released sounded pained and you wished you knew what was happening so you could help him. Suddenly ripping himself away from you, his hands went to his hair, pulling on the ends as he let out another pained moan.
“Tell me what’s wrong. Tell me how to help.” You said softly, pushing yourself off the wall to grab his hands and remove them from his hair. He flinched away from your grip and took a step back.
“Go.” He muttered, not looking at you.
“What?”
“Go! I can’t- You…” His chest heaved as he tugged on his hair again. “You have to leave.” He gritted.
“I’m not leaving you like this.”
“I can’t control it! Please-” He cried.
“Control what?” You took another step toward him and placed your hand on his cheek. His eyes snapped open and he roughly grabbed your wrist, pulling your hand off of his face. You stared at him in shock, not used to this behavior, and he squeezed his eyes shut as his grip tightened around your wrists, making you wince. When he opened them again, they were significantly darker.
All of a sudden, he was doing a move he’s done to you a couple times during training, and you were flat on the floor in seconds. He turned you onto your stomach, then straddled your thighs, not being able to control the way his hips bucked forward, pushing his crotch against your ass.
“Jason, what-“ As you tried to push yourself up, a strong hand pressed between your shoulder blades, forcing you back down with a grunt. He was rutting against your ass intentionally now, growling at the friction and pushing down on your back harder to make sure you couldn’t wriggle free. You could feel arousal pooling in your stomach from his behavior, not used to this side of him yet.
You’ve been dating for a while now and while you are sexually active, so far you both have kept it pretty vanilla. You were scared he’d think you were disgusting or weird so you never talked about it. You only mentioned the more tame things like light bondage or choking, choosing to limit the hard kinks to your fantasies for when you’re alone.
He quickly grew impatient and removed his hand as he shuffled down your legs just enough to have access to your ass. He took the skin tight fabric of your suit in both hands and ripped it apart, opening the entire crotch area. You let out a choked gasp that turned into a moan when he did the same thing with your thong, ripping the string so he had complete access.
“Jason, what are you-“ A hand was on the back of your neck now, squeezing the sides and forcing your cheek into the dirty pavement. But you understood that it was a warning, so you stayed quiet, listening to fabric rustling behind you until you felt the blunt head of his cock against your folds. He didn’t bother teasing you like he normally would before breaching your hole with a low groan. You cried out, scrambling for purchase on the floor beneath you, struggling to adjust to his size without the usual amount of prep, despite how wet you were. But he paid no mind to it as he started rutting against you in shallow thrusts.
“Fuck- I’m sorry,” He said through a moan. “I’m sorry, baby, I can’t help it- I just need this- need you.” He whined, desperately bucking his hips into you as he held you down.
You tried to relax your body and not tense up around him, but the stretch burned almost painfully and you couldn’t help it. You just had to wait until you became aroused enough to loosen up a little. It didn’t seem like that would take long though- he’s always managed to hit the perfect spot inside you with little effort. Your clit throbbed desperately for stimulation but you couldn’t fit a hand between your body and the ground with him pinning you down.
His thrusts became more frenzied and erratic as he neared his orgasm, far  sooner than normal, and part of you didn’t want it to be over yet but another part was glad your burning hole would get relief from the stretch soon.
His thrusts slowed and he fucked you uncomfortably deep, pushing up against your cervix as hot come filled you up. You let out a low whine, listening to his moans and whimpers.
“Jay?” You asked quietly, when he didn’t move or speak for a moment. You felt his cock twitch inside of you and he took a deep breath before dragging out and tentatively pushing back in. He cursed under his breath and picked up the pace, resuming the speed of his thrusts. You let out a choked sound in surprise and he moaned quietly, speeding up even more.
“Fuck- I know. I’m sorry.” He replied to your strained whimpers. “It's not enough… It- it still hurts, baby, I’m sorry. Just a little more.” He whined.
As he grew even needier, he started a brutal pace, slamming his hips against your ass with each thrust. His come made an obscene squelching sound as his cock forced it out of you, some falling down to your clit and some spattering onto the ground between your legs.
You could feel yourself nearing an orgasm and you tried to force a hand under your body, but let out a whimper when you were unsuccessful.
“Jay,” You sobbed, making him let out a choked moan.
“Oh fuck- fuck your cunt is squeezing me so tight. You close, baby?” He moaned breathlessly and you nodded.
“Jay, please.” You cried out. Despite his acknowledgment of your current state, he made no move to do anything else to get you there. He just moaned in response and fucked you harder, slamming into you almost painfully as he chased his second orgasm. His thrusts barely slowed as he came again, painting your fluttering walls with his seed. When he picked up the pace again, you let out a long needy whine, cunt aching for release.
He seemed to grow only a little fatigued as he released your neck and completely laid over you, rutting into you desperately and moaning against your ear.
“God- you feel so fucking good.” He moaned, rolling his hips and grinding against you. “Fuck.” He choked out, leaning up just enough to put you on your elbows so he could pull the zipper of your catsuit down to your stomach, freeing your breasts. He squeezed them roughly, making your breath hitch, but it was nothing compared to the treatment your nipples received. Desperate fingers worked them over- twisting and pinching them painfully, making sure to use his nails. When you cried out in pain, walls spasming around his length, he came again, lazily rutting into you to get the most out of his orgasm.
“One more,” He gasped out. “Just need one more, baby, I promise.” He huffed, breath fanning your neck, making you shiver. He released your breasts then, more gently this time, pushed you down by your back, using it as leverage to fuck you faster and harder. The ground was rough against your sensitive nipples, making you hiss in pain but still clench around him.
You were dangling over the edge with how close you were- your walls pulsing around him and your clit throbbing, in desperate need of attention. But he gave you no relief as he held you down- even your skin tight suit couldn’t give you any friction because of how far he ripped it. Where you could usually feel his balls slapping against you, you just felt air and come. You don’t know what happened to make him like this but his balls being this tight was maybe the only negative.
The sound of his come being forced out was more obscene than before, and your cheeks burned from the humiliation, bringing you even closer to relief.
“Oh- Jay, I’m-” You gasped out, feeling so fucking close to your orgasm. When he slammed into you with a loud moan, you fell over the edge, body twitching and walls spasming, but you let out an anguished cry when he didn’t continue the rough thrusts. He stopped and was only occasionally bucking into you as he came, making you try to move your hips under him to get more friction, but he was holding you completely still as his come filled you up for the fourth time. You let out a choked sob, your ruined orgasm bringing tears to your eyes, but he paid no mind to it as he relished in his own pleasure.
“Fuck.” He groaned, drawing the word out. “So fucking tight.” He started panting as he came down from his orgasm, your quiet sobs falling on deaf ears. When his cock finally stopped twitching inside you, he dragged it out, hissing at the sensitivity.
Placing his hands on your ass, he spread your cheeks to get a closer look at the mess he made- your torn suit, your abused hole desperately fluttering around nothing, his come covering the floor between your legs and your cunt as it still flowed out of you.
“Fuck- baby, let me see your tits.” He groaned and you turned your sore body over, cringing at the feeling of laying in his come. He settled on the floor next to your stomach, gaze never leaving your exposed chest. When he lightly brushed his fingers over your red nipples, you hissed in pain. Looking down, you were startled by the sight- your breasts were covered in tiny scratches and crescent indents, but your nipples were completely bright red.
“Aren’t you a fuckin sight.” He groaned under his breath. When his gaze moved up to your face though, he faltered. He eyed your tear stained cheeks that were red from the rough pavement and his face fell as he recoiled away from you. He quickly tucked himself back in his pants, not able to look at you and you leaned up on your elbows a little, staring at him with furrowed brows.
“What’s wrong?” You asked quietly. Did he figure out that you liked it? “Jay?”
“N-nothing, I’m sorry. I- I should…” He stammered out, keeping his gaze anywhere but on you. You leaned up fully and zipped up your suit, wincing as the fabric pressed tight against your sore nipples. “I’ll take you home.” He muttered, standing up to retrieve his helmet. You stood on shaky legs, trying not to show any physical indication that the feeling of his come trickling out of you was turning you on. You limped over to his bike, now fully feeling how sore you were from his rough treatment, but stopped as you stared at the seat. You don’t want to get it all messy… but what else are you supposed to do? He seemed to pick up on your internal debate and he took off his jacket, telling you to wrap it around your hips. You hesitated, but did it anyway, mentally reminding yourself to wash it as soon as you can.
He stiffened as you wrapped your arms around his torso, making your stomach drop. Does he think I’m disgusting now? You thought, trying not to cry. The realization was enough to distract you from the vibrating seat as the engine roared to life before he drove off, speeding to your apartment. When he arrived, he didn’t even turn off the engine, just stopped and waited. So you climbed off of the bike on shaky legs and waited for him to say something.
“I- I’m sorry. I’ll call you.” You wished you could see his face. Before you had a chance to respond, he was speeding off, making your stomach drop. You tried not to cry as you limped upstairs into your place, grimacing at the feeling of his come dripping down your thighs inside your suit.
Maybe it was just a misunderstanding? No… His attitude only changed after he saw your face, desperate for a proper orgasm. It couldn’t have been anything else.
A few days later you were still waiting for his call. You didn’t go on patrol for multiple reasons. The main one being that you couldn’t get rid of the nausea in your stomach from what happened. But also because he usually picks you up to go with him, and he hasn’t done that yet so he obviously doesn’t want to see you. You sat by your phone for three straight days, waiting for his name to pop up on your screen, and with every day that went by, you lost just a little more hope that he would call— that he wasn’t completely disgusted by you and wanting to break up.
Eventually you decided you’d had enough, so you called him. It only rang twice before you were sent to voicemail, making bile rise up your throat. Another two days later you decided to go to his house. If he’s ending things, you at least want to fucking know.
“Let me get this straight… She found you after Ivy dosed you, you couldn’t control yourself, fucked her, then acted like a complete ass, took her home, and haven’t talked to her since?” Roy asked and Jason nodded hesitantly. “How fucking stupid are you?”
“Excuse me?”
“Fucking listen to yourself, Jason. You fucked her, then barely said two words to her as you dropped her off—not even attempting any kind of after care after something so intense— then didn’t even send her a text. You’re fucking psychotic.” His face fell as Roy explained it to him.
“Oh… Oh.” Jason said through a breath, staring at the wall behind him with wide eyes. “Dude, I fucked up-”
“No shit, asshole.”
“Oh my god what did I do?” He muttered, frozen.
You paced outside his door, trying to psych yourself up to knock. “You can do this.” You muttered, shaking your head to try and clear any doubts. “It’s just Jason. You’ve taken on way worse than him- this is a piece of cake.” Despite your sure tone, your stomach was twisting with anxiety. “Okay just do it. Just do it.” You said, raising your first but immediately lowering it. You raised it again and waited, taking a deep breath as you moved your hand toward the wood. Before you could knock, it was being opened and you stared in shock when you were met with Roy.
“Uh…” You glanced between his face and your fist, then quickly lowered it.
“Sorry… I was on my way out. He’s in there though.” He said, using his thumb to point over his shoulder.
“Okay- okay. Cool.” He left the door open and slowly walked past you but you were frozen, staring inside.
“You good?” He asked, raising his brows.
“Me?” You scoffed, giving an unconvincing smile. “Totally. I’m so good- perfect actually.”
“Okay… Are you gonna go in then?” He looked between you and the open door.
“Yep. I- I’m going…” You took a single, tentative step toward the door, then froze again.
“Stop being a pussy and go curse him out already.” He said, making you turn to him with wide eyes. “Go.”
“I am. Give me a fucking second.” You hissed.
“Roy? Why didn’t you close the-” Jason was on the other side of the doorway now, staring at you in shock. Neither of you noticed as Roy left. “…Do you want to come in?” He asked and you nodded, hesitantly stepping inside.
“You didn’t call.” You said, trying to keep all of the emotion out of your voice. You crossed your arms as he closed the door and turned to you, shifting his weight between his feet.
“I’m sorry, I was… busy?” You stared at eyes that wouldn’t meet your own, quickly growing angry from his response.
“Fuck you, Todd.” You scoffed walking toward the door, but he lightly grabbed your arm to stop you.
“I’m sorry… Are you okay?” When he let go of your arm, you turned to face him.
“If you want to break up just say that.” You muttered, trying to keep your voice steady. You looked away from him as you waited for his response.
“What? I don’t- I don’t want to break up. Do you want to break up?” He asked, making you look at him again, this time with a glare.
“I’m not the one who promised to call and then didn’t. I’m not the one who- who left after… that.” He stayed silent so you sighed, then continued. “Look, if you think I’m weird now or don’t want anything to do with me then fine. But you could at least fucking tell me.” You snapped, feeling your eyes start to burn with unwanted tears.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” He asked, brows furrowed.
“Jason, I'm not in the mood for whatever you’re trying to do.” You sighed.
“No- what the fuck are you talking about? Why the hell would I think that?” You stared at him, waiting for him to laugh and tell you he was kidding and that you’re right, but he stayed silent.
“Because I- I… liked it- when that probably shouldn’t have been something I was meant to enjoy.” You muttered, gaze moving to your feet.
“No you didn’t.” He said simply, making you look back up at him with furrowed brows.
“Jason, what-“
“You were crying and I hurt you. I- I… raped you... I figured you wouldn’t want anything to do with me.” He said quietly, crossing his arms over his chest and averting his gaze.
Oh. Okay that makes a little more sense.
“That’s why you got all cold and left? Cause you thought you did that?” You asked softly, comfortingly.
“I don’t think I did that,” You cut him off before he could say the rest.
“Jason, I get that you were a little out of it and frankly I’m still not even completely sure I understand what happened, but did you seriously not notice that I liked it? I literally came from just that and no other stimulation.” You tried not to let yourself get embarrassed by the confession.
“But- you were crying…” He stared at you with furrowed brows, trying to find the hidden truth behind your words.
“Because when I came, so did you and you pretty much stopped moving so it was a ruined orgasm. I wasn’t crying before that.” He was silent for a moment and you tried not to squirm as you anxiously awaited his response.
“Oh.” He said under his breath, bringing a hand up to anxiously rub the back of his neck. “I’m sorry for ruining it.” He said sheepishly.
“It was still hot.” You shrugged and his eyes widened just the slightest amount. “All of it was really…” You muttered, cheeks heating up.
“All of it?” You nodded. “All of it?”
“Oh my god- Yes, Jason. All of it.” You said, getting even more embarrassed.
“But you were on the ground in an alley…” The way he said it made it sound like a question.
“Yeah and I took a very thorough shower after. Especially because of how much you came, it was literally everywhere.” This time, he was the one to blush at your crude words. “You wanna tell me what that was about now?”
“Ivy.” He shrugged, but there was hesitation in his voice.
“You confronted Ivy alone?” Just by his expression, it was obvious that he knew he was in trouble.
“I was just looking into something and she ambushed me. I didn’t think I’d actually see her.” He defended. “I would’ve brought you if I thought something was gonna go down.” The confirmation that he wouldn’t voluntarily be that stupid eased your nerves a bit. He suddenly took a step forward and lightly cupped your cheek as his gaze trailed all over your face.
“I’m sorry I left you alone, that was wrong. I wasn't thinking straight and I know that’s not an excuse but,” You cut him off with a kiss, pressing your body to his and bringing your arms up to wrap over his shoulders as you stood on your toes to reach his height.  When you pulled back, both of you were panting quietly, eyes still closed and foreheads pressed together.
“You don’t have to apologize, but I forgive you.” You whispered through a breath.
“Good.” He pulled back a little, so you opened your eyes, finding a mischievous expression on his face. “If that’s done, I think we need to have a lengthy conversation about all of the kinks you’ve been hiding.” He teased, making your face heat up. “Starting with whatever it was that made you come from penetration alone because I will be doing a lot more of that from now on.”
“Oh my god.” You muttered, leaning forward to bury your face in the crook of his neck with a small smile.

Learning to Love Slowly
Jason Todd x Reader All Chapters AO3
66- Nepo Babies and Little Thoughts of Getting Old
“Are you technically a nepo baby?” You asked, looking up from your phone.
Jason didn’t look at you right away, eyes training in on his book even harder than before as he tried to link the idea of what you said to his situation. It wasn’t until a minute later that he stopped thinking to look at you.
“Explain,” Was all he could say.
You explained, “Well, your dad is a big-time vigilante, and he trained you. Now, you use some of his connections and a lot of his techniques—”
“No. No, I’m not even entertaining that anymore.” Jason closed his book and let it fall onto his lap. He looked at you, seeming so hurt by your words. “That’s so offensive.”
You began to laugh and opened your arms to drag him onto you. “Awe, baby! I’m sorry.” He dove head first into your arms, hiding his face in the nape of your neck as you peppered kisses into his hair, and mumbled about how much that what you said hurt him. Of course, you knew he was joking, but played into his want of comfort and affection.
“You’re the best vigilante in all of Gotham,” You said. “Batman’s been copying you.” Jason’s laugh tickled your neck, and he held you tighter. Having him hold you so tight was one of the guilty pleasures in life that you could never forgo. You did the same to him, squeezing him close to you so that he might never slip away.
You hoped it would be this way for years and years until there was gray in his hair and you couldn’t remember the days. What a happy life you could live with him, you thought. The picture was so clear in your mind, the days together turning from hundreds to thousands as you watched him get older and more beautiful. Laugh lines, gray hair, joint pain, and blurring eyes—All of it you could live with if it were with him.
Jason laughed again and you were brought back to the present. Looking down at him, you blushed. You never thought you’d seen a more perfect person before.
“Okay, I forgive you,” He said playfully, moving himself up to look at you.
You smiled, reaching up to push some of his hair out of his face. “Thank goodness, I was worried there for a moment.”
Jason kissed you sweetly before laying his head on your chest as you ran your fingers through his hair. You wondered if this was the knowing that people talked about. The kind of knowing of when someone was it, that they were the one you’d been waiting and craving for. You liked the thought of it being Jason, because, nepo baby or not, it just felt like he was it.

He was gone.
Jason Todd was gone. Dead. Killed in an explosion that would forever be burned into the front of your brain. The sound replayed itself over and over again in your mind; the shattering of the glass and the groaning of the metal frames as they collapsed in on eachother, the deafening booming of the explosive and the scuffing of your feet on the concrete as you stopped dead in your tracks, too far away to help and too late to reach him in time.
At first, the tears refused to fall from your cheeks as you surged forwards racing towards where the warehouse once stood. You arrived at the wreckage at the same time as the Bat. When he pulled Jason’s body from the wreckage, limp with eyes devoid of life, the tears still refused to fall. You just watched blankly as he held his son, trying not to focus on the mangled, blood covered flesh that covered every inch of his skin. Even in death Jason looked pained, his face permanently contorted into an unseeing gaze of pain.
Returning back to the manor and breaking the news to Dick was even harder. You watched as he flung the nearest thing across the room and let it shatter on the floor. You picked the skin around your fingers as he sunk down onto the floor and broke down, tears cascading down his face. Fat and hot like heavy droplets of rain falling from the sky. But still, your own stubbornly refused to fall.
It was only hours later when you had locked yourself away in your room that you let out a shrill cry of anguish, falling to the floor. Heavy sobs wracked your body as you trembled digging your nails into palms and biting down harshly on the inside of your cheeks, You blinked away your tears the fell freely, squeezing them from your eyes as you squeezed them tight, trying to shut out the constant memory of Jason Todd.
It was then that the thoughts came flooding to you. Obnoxious, penetrating thoughts that hit you like a ton of bricks. You should have gotten there quicker. If you had just stuck with Jason or forced him to keep his comms on then. It was your fault that he had gone off on his own. It was your fault that Jason Todd was dead.
Your suit was damp with tears and clung too close to your body. You felt suffocated. As you began to push off your boots, your bowie knife that you usually kept tucked away for emergencies clattered to the ground, You froze. It was the one that you had been given when you began your vigilante training with Bruce all those years ago. You picked it up, flipping the leather-bound hand between your palms and admiring the way that the metal glinted as it caught the light.
Some sane part of your body screamed at you not to do it. That it was wrong, that your family would be disappointed if they found out. But the other overpowering side still echoed with those thoughts. You couldn’t help but sink deeper into the guilt. And so you brought the knife down to your flesh, barely recognising the pain as the red ribbons formed on your skin.
~
That feeling of guilt never went away. It still sat there like a heavy weight even after Jason returned 6 months later. Although Jay was back, he was changed. Haunted by his own memories, he struggled to re-adjust to his life especially after the memories of his brutal murder flooded back to him. It took him a while to come to terms with his safety. It was only once the two of you had spent many nights clinging on to each other and giving reassurances that he finally allowed himself to relax slightly.
But the boy’s return didn’t just affect him. The sudden shift had troubled all of you, flipping your lives which you had slowly managed to learn to navigate without him upside down.
You began to retreat into your room again, spending more time alone. You slunk around the manor, avoiding the others when possible. It was something that didn’t go unnoticed by Dick who often lingered by your door, but was too afraid to knock or barge his way in. Opting to give you space. The space never helped though. It just became a void of guilt and constant reminders of your sluggishness. Although the image of Jason’s frail body never quite left your mind, his return brought it back stronger. It began to plague your nightmares again, causing you to wake up in a cold sweat. It caused the silence to morph into muffled cries and with that came the return of old habits.
Trailing your finger over the lines of scar tissue, your body felt numb. Silent, you left yourself with the stickiness of hot tears trailing down your face; each one a reminder of your failures. Of the times that you weren’t perfect enough to save everybody. The knife ran sharply across your skin, allowing the blood to bead as it trailed. The stinging allowed a sense of relief for a while. That was until it didn’t. After that, you turned to pressing deeper into your complexion, allowing the blood to dribble from your arm.
~
Dick lingered in front of your door once again. He hadn’t seen you all day and had begun to grow worried. Deep creases lined his brow as he stood, shut out from you by the painted wood. He knew you hadn’t been in the best of places since his little brother had been ripped so cruelly from the world. Dick hated watching you retreat. He loathed that sad look and far away gaze that settled on your face when he thought no one was looking. His hand was hovering as he prepared to knock when he noticed his younger brother waltz around the corner. Jason slowed furrowing his brows.
“What are you doing?” He quizzed. Though not oblivious to your struggle, he didn’t believe in getting involved in someone else’s business. Especially when he was still trying to short his own shit out.
Dick only said one word which sent the two men into a preganant silence. “Listen.”
Your sobs and outbursts of frustration could be heard from the other side of the door frame. The younger of the two recoiled at the noise. Dicks hand moved towards the door handle after knocking and being blanked.
The door shuddered open and Dick poked his head around the corner. He froze, heart dropping to his feet when he took you in.
Your knees were pulled tightly to your chest, where your head rested grimly. Your wrists were a bloody mess like the knife which lay a few feet away from you. You half-nursed them carefully, as though you knew something about them was off, but you couldn’t get yourself to care enough about it.
“Oh god…”
He took cautious, but long strides steps to get to you before taking your arms in his, not caring abou there stickiness that coated his clothes and spilled down his fingers. There was so much of it he was surprised it still fell from your body.
You tried not to acknowledge him in away, but once your lifted your head and spotted his face, the tears began again. Dick pulled you into a height embrace as the tears began to fall again
“I-I’m sorry.” You stumbled, “I..”
“Shh.” Dick coaxed, pulling you into his arms: “nothing is your fault.”
“But I- Jason. I wasn’t fast enough.”
“Oh little bat…” Jason squatted down by his brother. “There’s nothing you could have done about that.”
“Yes there is. I could have convinced you to-“
“Stop it.”
“I’m sorry.” You murmured. “I’m sorry but they won’t leave. Make them leave please.
“We will baby bat. We will.

It’s not something Jason admits he finds amusing and adorable about you, but the fact that he lets you do it without any real pushback is telling enough. Because imagine, this towering and colossal-sized man, definitely over 6 feet and huge mass with the muscles to show and is a trained fighter (no matter how informal), getting beaten in a fight between him and his shorter and/or smaller boyfriend.
And it’s not to say you could never beat him in a fight, oh no! Your Jaybirdie would never want you to believe he doubts your capability and skills like that. Actually, he’d very much like and would encourage you to be able to learn how to take him down. It would help with his anxiety and fear of you being out in the world without him there to protect you, feeling more at ease knowing you could defend yourself if need be.
He’s definitely planning to make that a reality, because if you two are going to continue to be in a relationship, Jason needs to know that you can protect yourself without him there. It’s something you both talked about and he made it clear when you first got into a serious relationship about him and his family’s side careers.
But, until then, Jason will happily and silently enjoy the trash-talking and play fights with you. It just gives him more of an excuse to have your body rubbing against his, the perv…
It always starts small and silly.
Whether you’re just feeling playful or want attention, it doesn’t matter. You and Jason will be cuddling on the couch or the bed and engaging in your usual harmless domestic banter. Or he’ll be minding his own business cooking, reading, or going over cases and reports, and you’ll just come up and start messing with him.
Messing up his hair, poking him in his face, slapping his butt, and shoving against his body. Despite popular belief, Jason has a somewhat good level of patience and will endure it, but then you start talking shit.
“Oh, was that important? Looks like you’ll need to start over,” You’ll say after purposely jerking his hand while he was writing notes down on a mission report.
“Oops, looks like you dropped something. You’re so freaking clumsy,” said with a jeering tone after knocking the book Jason was reading out of his hands.
“Aww, is the little baby getting upset? Don’t cry baby, it’ll be okay,” You’ll respond in the most insulting baby voice knowing how much Jason despises it and usually ends up being his last straw.
The vigilante will give a soft shove and a warning look to you and that’s all you need. You’ll start taunting him even more and pushing yourself against him, grabbing at his wrists and arms as he holds you back.
“You feeling tough all of sudden? Am I going to have to mess you up like last time?”
Ding. Ding. Ding.
The next moment, Jason’s patience has officially run out and now, the two of you are rolling around on the bed, couch, and floor trying to pin the other. Well, you’re trying to pin him.
Jason’s just holding you off with ease and letting you slip out of his grabs now and then, letting you think you’ve got a chance. Of course, that leads to more shit-talking.
“Man, what kind of criminals are you fighting? You’re no match for me.”
Of course, as things will go when it comes to wrestling between two males, it eventually gets a little out of hand. You’ll shove Jason too hard, accidentally land a hit on his face or nether region, or you’ll even purposefully try to cheat to which your boyfriend responds by immediately putting you in a submission.
Never anything too rough or painful, just enough to immobilize you until you calm down and stop fighting back. But, even the non-painful ones are a bit much for you since you’re not used to fighting like Jason is, so you’ll typically give in within a few seconds, especially when he puts a little pressure on you and jerks you a bit as payback for all the trash talk.
It doesn’t stop you though, since as soon as you’re both done and back to whatever you were doing, you’ll continue to talk shit at your boyfriend like you had him in submission.
“Hopefully you learned your lesson.”
“We can clearly see who the big guy is in this relationship now. Don’t worry little man, maybe you’ll win again next time.”
“Light work. Maybe we should get you some classes small fry.”
And so much more trash-talking and playful jabs until the next round. But, Jason doesn’t mind. As long as he’s the one getting to put you in a submission at the end, he’ll let you trash-talk him all day, every day.

"NORMAL" FOR YOU (JASON TODD)
notes/cw ~ GN!reader, fluff, minorish angst (idk to me it's minor), has been renamed, (also this is only my second time ever writing in second person, i'm still learning so plz cut me some slack)
Tumblr media
It’s 4:36 in the morning when the soft thud of boots landing on the fire escape outside your apartment interrupts the sleep you were finally starting to slip into; and it’s 4:37 when the window in your bedroom is pried open by large gloved hands, followed by the maneuvering of a large figure through said window.
Even with increased agility from years of training, he still manages to knock over a couple of the trinkets occupying your windowsill; and even though you can feel how tired he is from feet away, he still picks each item up off the floor, examining the objects for cracks or breaks before placing them back in their rightful spots.
“I don’t know why you keep coming through that window.” Drowsiness drips from your voice, but you know it’s nothing compared to what he’s feeling. “I cleared off the one in the living room to avoid this exact situation.”
“Coming in this way is just better.”
“Yeah, maybe for you, but not for my stuff.”
A breathy laugh escapes his lips, and he walks over to your side of the bed, placing his knee on the edge and his hands beside your head. His palms dig into the plush cotton of the pillows and blankets around you, and he hovers for a second, before dipping down and placing a soft kiss on your lips.
“I like when you’re the first thing I see after patrol.”
You look up at him to see the sleazy smile you know is on his face, but all you can focus on is the exhaustion evident in his features. Bags under his eyes and deep-set lines that would disappear with a couple of nights of good sleep riddle his face, and your mouth turns downward in a frown as you think about how badly he needs a night off.
He notices the way you react to the effects of his nightly activities and immediately gauges what's on your mind. “I can't,” he says, pulling back from you, standing up and turning around, starting the process of removing his tactical gear.
You suck in a tense breath, the sudden change in atmosphere giving you whiplash.
You watch his back as he removes the multiple layers of protective clothing that keep him coming home to you.
“Can’t what?” It’s a dumb question that you both know the answer to and have always known the answer to.
It’s a dumb question that you both know the answer to, but you ask anyway even though the answer remains the same and has remained the same since you found out about his ‘occupation.'
He lets out a sigh, moving towards the dresser and opening a drawer to find some pajamas.
“I can’t take a night off.” He lets his head drop, hands gripping the knobs, “and I can’t give you the life that you want…the normal life that you deserve.” The words come out strained, like they’re paining him, and they’re definitely paining you.
You refrain from saying anything, knowing that when he gets like this it’s better to give him some time to let his rationale come back instead of trying to sway his thoughts.
A beat of silence goes by, and he pulls out some clean clothes then disappears into the bathroom across the hallway, not before gently closing the bedroom door behind him, ever the considerate boyfriend, even in his self-loathing moments.
The back of your head hits the pillow behind you, and you exhale lightly. Eyes drooping and body feeling heavy, you pull the blanket up to your neck and try to let sleep takeover.
A few minutes pass before the soft sound of hinges squeaking interrupts the silence around you, and Jason shuffles around the room, quietly locking the window and putting stuff away.
The bed dips and he climbs under the covers, sliding one arm under your head and the other over your hip. Even in a sleepy, semi-agitated state you readily accept his warmth as a safety net.
“I wouldn’t be with you if I didn’t want to be.”
You feel him sigh against the back of your head, pulling you as close to him as possible, “I know.”
“Do you really?” You say slowly, fighting sleep. “Because it often feels like you don’t.”
No response.
“I don’t know what you think ‘normal’ is Jason, but if it doesn’t include you then I don’t want it.”
“I’m sorry," He whispers tentatively.
And your heart aches knowing the amount of love you give him may never be enough to heal the deep wounds leftover from years of being made to feel like a burden.
“You don’t have to apologize, but you do need to stop questioning my decision-making skills.” Your body shifts in his arms so you’re face to face with him, “I could do a whole lot worse than you.”
He lets out a wry chuckle that hides some sadness in it, “yeah…you’re right.”
You hum, satisfied with his lack of protest, and open your eyes long enough to see a content look on his face, before closing them once more.
For a few minutes you lay in silence wrapped in his arms, reveling in the comfort of each other's company.
But eventually you lose the battle to sleep, and your brain drifts off into a dream land. Everything in the world around you is temporarily gone while you explore the expanse of your subconscious, and a world where Jason takes a night off every once in a while.
“I love you.” He says quietly, barely audible.
And he knows you don’t hear it, so he’ll say it again in the morning; and every morning after that as long as you’re by his side.

Revive Your Piece of Mind
Time written-4:44 a.m
Tumblr media
Jason Todd/fem!reader angst
The impact of both men tumbling onto hard, steel grates down below nearly caused the entire platform to tremble.
The rattle of his pistol landing beside him quickly found the palm of his outstretched hand before he stands abrupt, quickly standing over the masked bastard he’s fought the second he arrived.
“Jason!” You cry out for him the second he aims the gun down on Batman’s head, your bounds hands preventing you from reaching towards him and potentially disarming him. At least, that’s what Red Hood assumed you’d do.
“Stay out of this!” The masked criminal loudly demands, keeping his focus on the bat that laid below him, quickly registering what was doing on once he gained his bearings.
Bait.
The bastard used you as his pretty faced bait to lure him here. You; his girl, his sweetheart, the woman who took months of self defense and trained alongside the rest on occasion for amusement, but not him.
Not the Batman, never the Batman.
That was where Bruce took opportunity on your mistake.
What had he done to you, during the year he was dead? Did he brainwash you? Manipulate you? The textbook signs Jason pictured in his mind of what Bruce could’ve said and done to make you move on and forget him?
What did you think of him now? A much better version of the man he used to be, holding Batman at gunpoint?
"Do it, Jason." The words left your lips faster than you realized it.
It sounds so easy to scream out, as painful as it was. A wave of understanding shadowing over your mind. Bruce was the man who raised you both, and chuckled off to the side every chance he got from witnessing how close you and Jason became over the years.
The Red Hood was silent, eyes wide in surprise behind his mask, for all you knew. He believed you were another victim to Bruce’s manipulations, his mind games, his tricks.
"Do it, shoot him!" Came your eagerly desperate plea, as you were the one wanting to get away from the man who bound you here, keeping you restrained in the dark until both men came bursting through glass. Your eyesight limited via pale moonlight from the roof of this strange warehouse.
No. You thought Jason had changed, but it quickly showed that it was also the other way around.
You wanted him dead too.
This gravely surprised him. In a sick, twisted sense, he also found delight in the idea that Batman never got through to you.
He knew his girl was stronger than that. This so called master detective failed in that category too.
It made all of this so much easier.
Click.
Click. Click.
The lack of bullets resulted in an empty chamber. A horrific silence shortly following until a strange, deflated wheeze leaves the lungs of the darkly dressed victim at Red Hood’s feet.
A deep rumble of laughter erupted from Batman’s chest, a twisted smile growing on the man’s stoic face, sending you both deadly silent in a confused mix of horror and shock.
In seconds, Bruce swiped Jason off his feet, shoving his arm wielding gun off to the side. While Jason managed to clutch hold of the nearest railing to maintain his balance, he failed to block a harsh blow against his shielded temple, forcing his back further against the platform guards. The rusted iron bars gave way with a few creaks and loud clicks, sending a flailing armed vigilante down into the abyss down below, without a scream to his name other than yours.
Your irritated wrists now bled from your relentless tugs on your cuff restraints keeping you locked against the railings, cutting deeply into your skin the longer you struggled. Your lunged burned from your screaming, hoping you’d see a large grappling hook catch onto the grate platform under your knees.
You never did.
What was worse was the consistent cackling that nearly overshadowed your crying voice, not once taking a single breath of air since the second he started.
You couldn’t stop sobbing, quickly acknowledging the horrific realization that you had admitted you wanted Batman dead, in his very presence. Batman’s laughter never ceased, even when he turns his attention towards you, pitifully sobbing on the ground with no one to free you. No one to save you.
In a desperate attempt, you bash your shoulder against the railings keeping you stuck in place, hoping you’d get lucky to escape the storming footsteps of the cackling, false vigilante behind you.
You gasp awake shortly you feel a firm hand grasping hold on the back of your head, forcing your hands to rip from their tight grip on your blankets, violently swiping at the phantom of your dying nightmare.
The darkness was unfamiliar to you at first, but what brought forth a recognizing comfort was a faint smell of cologne on your sheets. Your bedsheets, on your own bed, in your own bedroom. In your own home.
As the darkness slowly grew accustomed to your teary vision, you could make out broad oval, leafy stalks of various potted plants, a small plethora of endless photos plastered along the walls with tacky tape, and your vanity with yesterday’s makeup palates sprawled across the surface.
Come to think of it, a strange heaviness lingered along your lap, contrasting the soft security of your blankets. Your hands met smooth, worn leather that once was draped over your very self when you slept. A quiet, gentle gesture he had always done when coming from patrols early.
What went from a slowly settling ease spiked up to a bright distress came from the absence of the warm body of your partner by your side.
Relax. Easy.
It’s what, the middle of the night?
Your hand searches through your blankets for your abandoned phone regardless.
A warm, amber glow caught the corner of your eye before your phone screen blurred your vision, forcing you to acknowledge this little light peeking from underneath your closed door.
Checking the time, you slip out of bed, spotting his boots parked by the bedroom door.
There he sat in the living room after a short tread down the hallway, a warm mug of tea perched on the coffee table beside his phone. His inky locks slightly framed his downturned face, peering at the words of a hardcover book in his lap.
While he could remain as quiet as possible due to years of stealth experience, the slightest suspicion of your presence in his nerves made his head turn. Teal eyes meet your gaze before your bare feet make the squeaky floorboards creak.
“Morning, mama,” Jason quietly greets while gifting you a short, simple smile. “Why’re you up? It’s early.”
A strange wave of relief douses your shoulders at the sight of him lounging in a weathered white shirt and gray sweats, hair tussled after hours of being flattened in a sweaty helmet.
This was his little routine when he came back from boring patrols early on calm, quiet days. Sometimes, sleep didn’t find him so easily as it should’ve, so he’d spend time catching up on his latest novel until his adrenaline died down.
Jason picked up on your hesitation to respond, your nervous tick consisting of rubbing along your forearm after you hug yourself. The exhaustion in your eyes, the hesitation to answer such a simple question.
He didn’t like what he saw, closing his book on an unmarked page for a later time.
“C’mere.”
He beckons over your exhausted body with a simple wave of his hand, which you gladly do.
He settles you in his lap, letting you tuck your legs by your side as he snatches the cream colored comforter folded on the armrest, pulling it over your shoulders. His warm arms consumed your shielded body, clutching you like a little child with a stuffed animal.
“Come on, look at me,” he encourages you to meet his gaze. “What’s wrong, babygirl? What’s the matter?”
His abandoned book laid face down on its cover title, but you managed to catch the abbreviation of the author along the spine. F. Dostoevsky.
You took a good while to come up with an answer, acknowledging the warmth and stability of Jason’s voice soothing your ears, his body heat a result from his beating heart encapsulated inside his chest.
Those patient, gorgeous eyes used to glare a crude, untrustworthiness when he came back to life. Now, all they ever gave you was wholesome contentment, especially with your love remaining ever so genuine after all these years.
“Didn’t sleep good,” you whisper, your throat itching for moisture. He clicks his tongue while he rubs your back, temporarily removing his hand to offer you his lukewarm tea.
“Wanna talk about it, Princess?” He offers, your concerns being his alone to claim. “M’all ears.”
Was this another dream? Part of you didn’t expect this was real. You weren’t fully sure what to expect, but this… was going a little too perfectly.
What were you expecting? The lightbulb to explode? For Batman to peer out from an unsuspecting corner, or break through a window? For this tea to burn down your throat like acid?
But that didn’t happen. It was just simple, chamomile tea. With no sugar.
“This needs honey,” you say after two sips, making Jason scoff.
“Not this early.” He gently pokes your cheek, tilting his head with a handsome smirk. “What happened? You miss me in your dreams, mama?”
It brings a smile to your face and a pleasant warmth in your heart. The last thing you wanted was to bother him with such a disturbing dream, enjoying the comfort that radiated off him in such a cozy, early morning ambience.
He was here, free, safe. That was all you really needed.
“I prefer you right here much better.”
“Who wouldn’t?” Jason retorts, his thumbs drawing soothing circles along your outer thighs.
“You sure you’re okay, babygirl?” Jason gently pries, his forehead settling against your hairline, his softened eyes full of concern scanning along your face for the fiftieth time.
You reply with a subtle ‘mhm’, softly exhaling through your nose while you tug the comforter closer. “I’m okay.”
Jason, while he didn’t voice it, wasn’t satisfied with your response. But, he wouldn’t pry. Not now, at least.
“Well, listen,” He slowly prepares his next words, hoping to put a smile on your pretty face. “I’m thinking of taking tonight off.”
Your raised brows, accompanied by the glimmer of happiness in your eyes nearly gives his heart a few palpitations.
“Really?” You smile, clutching the mug closer to your chest, your rising hopes becoming a soothing balm to your anxious nerves.
“Uhuh,” he continues, his other hand never ceasing their mindless movements along your skin. “I’m thinkin’ we can get some dinner, maybe go out somewhere. Whatever you wanna do.”
“I’d like that,” you reply in seconds, making Jason smile as he adjusts a few strands of your hair.
“So, what hits your fancy? Batburger, or pizza, maybe Superbabes—“
“Oh my God, Jason—“
“Kidding, kidding!” He laughs, holding your hands before you could hit him again. “Relax. Dick says the wings there are shit, anyway.”
“How about Lorenzo’s?”
His brows slightly widened in surprise at the familiar name. Lorenzo’s? The little Italian restaurant on the other side of town?
“We haven’t been there since we were, like what, still in highschool?” He questions with furrowed brows at the memory of it. A cute little restaurant, with seventeen tables at most, four of them being outside. They sold fresh gelato on Wednesdays, and always sold their desserts at half price on closing hours at the end of each day.
You smile and nod. “I know. They’re still owned by Emilia and her husband. Saw her the other day at the store, she wants to see how grown you’ve gotten.”
Jason could only smirk and tilt his head back in amusement, pinching the bridge of his nose while chuckling under his breath.
He could recall it now, the painfully awkward moments where the sweet owner’s wife, a short woman with fading blonde hair, would pinch his cheek before chastising him to eat more every time he brought you there on dates.
Back when he was a bit less muscles, and more goody two shoes.
“Fine, we’ll go pay them a visit,” he agrees, thinking it would be nice to see the old couple again.
He could practically hear Emilia praising the heavens that he took her advice.
“You don’t wanna order in? We can just go say hi.” You suggest, getting a bit of a feeling Jason may have wanted to skip the attention and just eat in the comfort of your shared apartment.
“Nah, I don’t mind,” Jason replies, resting his head on his propped up hand along the armrest. “We’ll leave a little before five.“
“That’s a bit early for dinner.”
“Takes time to look this good after all, babygirl.” He gives a weak shrug, expertly hiding a smile. “Gotta admit, it gets exhausting, but I’ll do it for Emilia.”
He laughs again when you playfully smack his chest, catching your hand in his shortly after to plant some light kisses along each of your fingertips.
You close your eyes, giggling to yourself as you take in the faded cologne clinging onto his shirt, the fabric rustling along your cheek as Jason murmurs just how much he loves you against the top of your head.
You loved him so much more than you could’ve ever imagined, stronger than your fears of losing him, stronger than your conflicted indifference with Batman. He wouldn’t imagine the lengths you’d go to prove it, to fall down the dark cavern with him if you had the chance.
Anytime to embrace this feeling just a second longer, not wanting to lose this. All you wanted to look forward to now was your date tonight at an old establishment running since before either of you were born.
Lorenzo would cry out your names, expressing such excitement at your grown faces, whilst Emilia gave warm, motherly hugs, gifting you two of her famous pistachio cannolis to take home.
The heartwarming sentimentality was nearly enough to diminish the cryptic cackle of the dark knight’s laughter into a ghostly whisper in the back of your mind.
For now, sleep came much easier, the ease of your worried mind settled by the calming tempo of your beloved’s heartbeat.

"Lady Wayne?" Alfred calls, pulling my attention away from the case file I've been looking over for Bruce.
"Hm?" I hum out, glancing at Alfred across the kitchen before turning back to my work.
"I made ice pops for the boys and you. Would you mind giving them out for me so I can start dinner?"
"Why'd you make ice pops?" I ask, getting up and heading towards Alfred. Sat on a tray in front of him are big ice cubs packed full of different fruits, each with a popsicle sticking out the bottom.
"You guys do not drink enough water so I'm hoping this will help."
"We drink plenty of water," I answer back, picking up the tray.
Alfred sighs, turning his attention to me. A deep frown is present on his face making his aging stand out even more on his face. "Lady Wayne, please tell me you don't actually think that."
"Of course not," I tell him, following it with a laugh. None of us are good at taking care of ourselves in any way, much less in our water intake.
I walk out of the kitchen, popsicle tray in tow as I head towards the second story of the manor. It doesn't take long to run into one of the boys. Damian is doing God knows what on the staircase. He's prancing around the steps, his katana in hand as he swishes it around. "What's up, Short Stack?" I poke at him, making sure to leave plenty of room between us.
"Practicing inclined swordsmanship," Dami answers, following it with a click of his tongue.
"That makes complete sense," I lie between my teeth. What is up with this kid? "Maybe let's not play with swords on the stairs though," I tell him, holding out one of the ice pops.
Damian takes the pop, pairing it with another tongue click. "I'm a trained assassin. I think I'll be fine practicing on the stairs."
I hum before hopping up the stairs, passing him on the way. "A trained pain in the ass too," I mumble to myself once he's out of earshot. I walk down the hallway, stopping outside Dick's room. I gently knock, which is responded to quickly with the door swinging open.
     "Hello!"
"Hello Y/N," Richard answers, glancing down at the tray in my hands. "Did you make popsicles?"
"Alfred made us ice pops. He says we don't drink enough water," I explain, holding out another pop.
"Hey, Tim?" He asks, ducking his head back into his room. "Do you want a popsicle?"
"Fuck ya!" Tim answers, quickly joining us at the door frame. "Thank you, Y/N," the younger boy says, taking a treat from the tray before disappearing back into the bedroom.
"Thank you," Dick repeats, also taking an ice pop before disappearing too.
That was pretty easy. I thought it would be more of a struggle to find everyone. With the manor being so big and the cave downstairs being even bigger, sometimes it's a struggle to find people. Maybe I'll get lucky, and Jason will be in his room too. I let the thought push me toward Jay's room. Once outside, just like Dick's room, I knock. Unlike Dick's room, I don't get an answer. "Jason," I call, knocking on the door again. There is no answer, so I decide to peek inside. The room is empty, with no sign of Jason at all.
Maybe I'll get lucky, and he'll be in the bat-cave. If not, then he just won't get an icicle. I make the short walk down the hallway to Bruce's study. Once again, I knock just in case. You never know if Bruce has a business partner in there or if they're work or league-related so it's best to be prepared. After a few seconds, the study door opens, and Bruce's grizzly bear form takes up the space. "I brought you a snack!" I chirp, raising the tray some.
"Thank you for the ice-pop," Bruce says, a soft smile covering his face as he picks out which one he wants. "Jason is down in the cave if you want to give him his or I can take it down."
"No, I'll take it down. I'm soaking in my break time from the Riddler case."
Bruce chuckles some before stepping aside so I can walk through. I squeeze through the gap, making sure not to drop the last two popsicles. The older man closes the door behind me before sitting back down at his desk. I take my time walking through the room towards the clock, looking over all the bookcases pilled full of books. I mess with the clock, getting it to unlock as I look over some of the titles. I need to come snoop through here for a good read once I finish my book.
The clock pops some as it swings open, the old wood worn and stressed from constant use. I slip through, making sure to close it behind me in case Bruce gets a visitor. The cave echoes as I walk down the metal stairs, my slippers sliding a bit as I walk. You'd figure by now I'd wear shoes with more traction, so I don't slip on the constantly soaked floors. Oh well.
"Jason!" I yell, walking down the last few stairs before standing steadily on the cave floor which is also soaked. Go figure. Who'd guess that a cave in the 'rainy city' of Gotham would always be wet and cold?
"Y/N!" Jason yells back, his voice echoing some off the walls.
I turn my head in the direction of his voice. Jason is tucked under one of the bat-cycles, working away on who knows what. He's always tinkering on something; The bikes, the bat-mobile, the bat-plane, something. I make a quick - but careful - pace towards the makeshift garage where all the bikes are stored. The 'garage' is more so a fancy shed than a garage. The left of it is stocked full of motorcycles. The right on the other hand is Jason's work bench that's always packed full of tools and different parts. The front of the shed - other than the door - is a wall of glass windows. You can see the left from the computer but it's harder to see the right. It's even harder considering the bat-mobile is usually parked in front of the windows on this side, like it is today.
"I brought you an ice pop," I tell him, setting the tray on the workbench before leaning against it. The edge of the bench digs into my back a bit but it's worth getting the pressure off my feet. For once it's not overflowing with random shit.
"Did you?" Jay asks, shifting some to get out from under the bike before deciding not to. He pulls on something, causing the metal to clink against the floor. "That's not good," he mumbles to himself more so than to me.
"Probably not," I answer back, crossing my arms over my chest and smiling some.
"Ya, ya, ya," he grumbles, sliding himself out before shifting to a sitting position. His eyes glance over me before settling back towards the bike.
Ever since the failed mission last week Richard swears there's been tension between Jason and me. On my last mission, I got shot a few times which has benched me from on-field missions. It's part of the reason I've been looking over case files for Bruce. Jason swooped in and played hero, which ended in a feverish kiss. We've both ignored it; not because of me though. I keep trying to talk about it, but he just brushes it off. Since it doesn't seem like he cares much I've settled on it just being heat from the 'you almost died' moment. It's nothing more than that, a misstep that happened because emotions were high. Though Richard swears up and down that, we like each other. Maybe so, but Dick likes drama so he can be a pot-stirrer sometimes.
I watch Jason tinker a bit more, making sure not to stare at his shoulders too long. Jason is an asshole most of the time, but even assholes can look good when their mouths aren't running. Especially tall assholes with a physique that reviles Bruce's. "Are you going to eat an ice pop?" I ask, glancing towards the computer stored in the cave. I can't see much of it, but I can see the top of someone's head, probably Tim's or Bruce's.
"Are you going to harass me about it until I say yes?"
     "On behalf of Alfred, yes."
Jason half sighs, and half chuckles before standing up. "Well, I can't say no to Alfred," he says, walking towards me. Jay stops in front of me, less than an inch between us as he reaches behind us to grab a popsicle off the tray. A mixed smell of leather and oil rolls off of him, filling me up with fuzzy warmth. "Is the other one for you?" He asks, pulling his arms back in front of us, both ice-pops in his hands.
"Mmhmm," I hum, glancing down at his hands. I am not petite by any means of the word, but I feel small when around Jason. Anyone would feel small around the brick of a man.
Jay hums back, popping his treat into his mouth before holding mine out to me. I should be an asshole and push him to acknowledge the kiss. The thought rolls around my head for a second as my eyes flicker from Jay's face to his hand. I bend my head down some, taking the pop into my mouth as he still holds it. I make a show of it, wrapping my hand around his wrist as I slide down some. I keep a hold of the pop, loosening his grip on it before lifting my head back up; the icicle still wrapped up in my lips.
Hood's jaw is set tight, eyes drinking me in for a couple of seconds before he turns on his heels and walks away from me. Ya, Richard is definitely wrong. I push the event out of my head, focusing on the stuff I've been reading about Riddler, figuring the new environment will help my thought process. I roll over the information, absorbing the melting ice, occasionally pulling it out of my mouth so my teeth don't get too cold. The curse of having sensitive teeth. The room is mostly quiet, though, occasionally Jay drops something, cutting through the silence and causing Tim to pipe up and ask if we're okay.
Maybe I should recommend checking out some of Riddler's old hideouts. He's on the run again after attacking one of the Joker's men. I don't see him finding a new hideout on such short notice. Maybe he's staying with Two-Face, they're pretty close. Though I think Bruce already checked out-
"Can you stop that?" Jay asks sharply, pulling me out of my thought process.
I pull the ice out of my mouth again, causing it to pop louder than I meant to. "Can I stop what?"
"That," he hisses, eyes throwing daggers at me. "You're being annoying."
"Oh, I'm sorry," I mumble, going back to my treat but making sure to be as quiet as possible as I enjoy it. I wonder if the Riddler just fled town? Probably not, if he hasn't before, I don't see him doing it now. Maybe we should just interrogate Two-Face about it. Even if Bruce cleared all of Two-Face's hideouts, that doesn't mean he doesn't know where his buddy is.
"Y/N," Jason husks out, his voice a lot closer to me than it was before. I look up from the floor to be met with Jason once again barely an inch away. "You should go back upstairs."
"Why?" I ask around the ice-pop, cranking my neck some to look into Jay's eyes.
He rolls his jaw some, his eyes hard as they stare down at mine. "You're being a distraction," Jason finally answers, taking the popsicle out of my mouth and throwing it on the workbench. "Go upstairs."
"Hey! You just ruined my treat," I whine, dropping my hands to my hips as I glare at the taller ex-robin.
He rolls his eyes, starting to walk away as he mumbles to himself, "Maybe I wouldn't have ruined it if you did that to my-" The sentence is cut off as Jay sits back down on the floor.
If I did that to his what?... Oh... Oh... No, I did not... I didn't get into Jay's head. I mean, I teased a bit, but I didn't think it was that bad. I barely did anything. Well, unless me 'annoying' him wasn't normal annoyance and was that kind of annoyance instead. Was it?
I hum, pushing myself off the workbench, and start heading towards the door so I can test my theory. "Maybe if you'd ask like a big boy I would," I mumble as I slide past Jason, quickly slipping out the door after the words are out. I leave the door open, giving me the chance to sneak a peek at how he's reacting. Jay's head shoots up at my words, his eyes glancing from my descending form and the project in front of him.
"Y/N," he calls, quickly climbing to his feet and chasing after me. His big hands wrap around my shoulders, pulling me back. "What did you say?" he asks, shifting himself so I'm trapped between him and the bat-mobile.
"What did you say?" I repeat, shoving my hands into the back pockets of my pants.
Jason stands there, hands still heavy on my shoulders as he stares down at me. "I... didn't say shit," he finally pushes out, taking a quick glance at my lips before staring back at my face.
"I didn't say anything either then."
Silence falls between us, the only sound being Tim tapping away at the computer and occasional yaps from the bats hanging from the ceiling. "You... you are a fucking tease," Jay finally whispers, his fingers featherily light as they skip down my arms.
"How am I tease?" I ask, making sure to sound cocky. I'm finally going to get him to talk about the kiss. I win.
"Sitting there blowing a popsicle... Looking at me with doe eyes..." Jay's hands jump from my arms to my waist, still light as they dance across the waistband of my jeans. "Spending the last week walking around with almost nothing on. Pretending it's so there's easier access to your bandages," he mumbles, his fingers working at undoing my pants.
"Jay, I was just trying to get you to talk about - Oh!" My words are cut off by a soft moan as Hood dances his fingers across my clothed pussy. My hand falls back to his wrist, wrapping my fingers around it tighter than I did earlier as the other one slides around his shoulders to latch onto the back of his neck.
"Oh?" He repeats pupils dilated, hiding some of the green as he watches my reactions. His fingers are still light as they circle my clit, down to my hole, before circling back up again. My legs close some, the feeling of Jason's forearm muscles being pressed into my thighs. "You know, since bringing you back to the cave, seeing how cute you looked all bandaged up and planted in that hospital bed-" he starts, tilting his head down and whispering in my ear, "- all I've thought about is how amazing it would be to serve you. Living on my knees so I can please you. It must be so painful to get yourself off with five bullet holes littering your stomach. Tell me, can you bend enough to finger yourself, Baby?"
     "Jay-"
"I asked a question," he says, shifting his head over so that our noses are gently pressed together. "Yes-" he starts, sliding his fingers under the right side of my panties, "-or no?" Hood finishes, switching his touches to the left side of my underwear.
"No," I breathe out, releasing his wrist to join my hand on his neck alongside the other one.
"Hmm," he hums out, placing a quick peck on my lips before lifting his head again. Jay drops his hand from my pussy, wrapping both of them around my thighs to lift me. I whine from the lack of friction, getting a chuckle out of him. He's careful not to press against my stomach, avoiding causing pain to flower from my healing wounds. Jay's lips are light as they slide over my neck and his hands heavy as they set me down on the hood of the car.
     "Jason you can't, we can't-"
"I can, you just have to let me," he mumbles, sliding his hands to my back and dipping down my pants. His hands are warm as he pushes my pants off of me, and gentle as he lifts me to pull them down my legs before discarding them to the ground. "Let me taste you, please?" Jay whispers, placing a kiss behind my ear before trailing down my jaw and neck again.
"But Tim's in the cave," I whine, shoving my hands into his hair and letting my fingers get tangled in it.
"So?" He asks, sliding his hands under my shirt, hooking his thumbs on the hum to push it up as his hands rise.
"Ow, fuck don't do that," I hiss when Jay slides over one of my wounds.
"I'm sorry," he murmurs, pushing my shirt over my head and letting it fall onto the hood of the car. Once my shirt is off, Jason's mouth is instantly attached to me. He makes quick work, sucking and kissing any skin he comes in contact with as his hands slide back down to my thighs. The chillness of the car aids in the need that's building. My thighs are peeled apart, and my panties are soon descending my legs as well.
"I cannot wait until you're better."
"Why is that?" I ask, my fingers tugging on his hair as his fingers ghost over my clit.
"I want to hear you sucking on me like you did that popsicle," Jason says, stealing another quick kiss before he falls to his knees. "Take your bra off," he orders, glancing up at me before looking back at my cunt, "I want to see your tits as I enjoy your pussy."
Reluctantly, I remove my hands from his hair, unclasping my bra and tossing it on top of my pants before planting them back on his head. Jay's eyes stay locked on my tits as he makes long, slow licks over my clit. His hands are rough as they grip my thighs, stopping me from locking them around his head. "You taste so good," he whispers, poking his tongue into my pussy before latching his mouth around my clit.
Jason enjoys himself, watching my boobs move around as he sucks and licks at me. It doesn't take long for the knot in my stomach to tighten and soon enough I release onto Hood's tongue. He hums happily to himself, taking his time licking my mess up. "Bruce is going to be pissed when he sees the mess you left on his car," he teases, followed by a soft chuckle.
"Jay," I whine, tugging on his hair to try and get him to crawl up my body.
"Y/N," he whines back, further teasing me but doing as I want. "You're acting like a whiney little thing. What happened to the badass that teased me with a popsicle? Not so badass anymore, huh?" His fingers dip into me, curling occasionally before he pulls them back out of me. "Are you a needy brat? The spoiled Wayne baby that's not used to being told no?" Jay's fingers speed up their pumping as he degrades me, kisses being littered across me as he speaks.
"Jason, please," I whine again, dropping my hands to his waist to try and pull him closer to me.
"Please what, baby? What do you want?"
"Please?" I try again, drawing out the word.
"'Maybe if you'd ask like a big girl I would' give you what you want," he says, throwing my words back in my face.
"Fuck me, Jay," I mumble, working my hands at his belt and pants to try and undo them. I do manage to get them undone and waste no time sliding my hand in. I softly paw at his dick, impatiently waiting to hear him make the noises he's been forcing out of me.
"What a needy little thing. Less than ten minutes ago you were oh so worried about Tim seeing us and now look at you. You're naked propped up on a car, begging me to fuck you as you give me a handy. It turns you on, doesn't it? It turns you on knowing at any second someone could see me filling your pussy." I hate to admit it but he's not wrong and he knows it, which makes it even worse.
Jason chuckles a bit as he pulls his fingers out of me. I pout at the emptiness left inside me, which gets me a deep, slow kiss from the anti-hero. "Don't pout baby, I'll fill you back up in no time," he promises, wrapping his arms around my legs again to lift me. Jay props me back on my feet before turning me around and bending me over the hood of the car, being careful not to push the metal into my bandages.
The cold metal sends shivers through me and causes my nipples to harden almost painfully. In no time his fingers are sliding back into me, continuing to gently push me towards my orgasm. The jingling of Jay's belt fills the space between before his fingers are lost, and his tip is pressed against my hole to mess with me. He gently pushes his head against me, pulling back before it goes in. "You're teasing," I finally whine, shimming my hips back when he places his tip against me again.
Jay chuckles but lets me get the extra inch from my movements. "You teased first," he reminds me, placing his hands on my hips. The roughness feels nice against my smooth skin as he tightens his grasp. He uses his hands to keep me in place as he slides the rest of the way in. The stretching sends continual waves of pleasure through me, rewarding Jay with a soft moan. His hair softly tickles me as he leans down to litter my back with kisses, using them to fill in the time he's given me to adjust.
After a minute, Jason slowly pulls out before bottoming out in me again. His pace stays slow and soft as he uses me. The zipper of his pants rubs against my thighs every time our hips clash. "Jay, I need more," I whimper, trying to buck my hips back but his hands stop me from doing it.
"You don't need more, you want more," he answers, a smirk forming in his kisses. Despite the teasing, Jay gives in, keeping his pace slow but thrusting into me harder. I can feel myself tightening around him and his thrusts getting sloppier. "You're such a fucking tease," he mumbles as his pace quickens. "Filling my work room and my head with the sounds of you slurping and sucking away on your stupid treat."
"Jay-" I say, trying to get his attention as he thrusts push me closer to the car's grill than I'd like.
"I know, baby," he mumbles against my shoulder before pressing a kiss to it. Jason's hands slip from my hips to my stomach, gently cupping my wounds and making sure not to add any pressure to them. "I'm so fucking close," he murmurs, his thrusts still inching me up the hood. His hands bump into the front of the car, adding slight pressure to my stomach before he adjusts his placement.
Jason's thrusts gentle a bit as he slips one of his hands down to my clit, starting to rub circles into it. Mews fall out of me, mixing with Jay's heavy breathing. "I'm sorry," he mumbles against my ear as he pulls me back by my waist, shoving himself as far in as he can. His fingers keep circling my clit as he fills my womb. "Fuck, fuck, fuck," he murmurs once my release comes and I tighten around him still tucked into me.
We stay like this, Jason buried into me, his hands rubbing circles into my hips as he litters kisses across my back and I still hunch over the bat-mobile, my legs threatening to give out from under me if we don't move soon. "So, about our kiss the other day?"
Jay lets out a deep laugh, smashing another kiss into my shoulder blade before slowly pulling out of me. The mix of our juices leaks down my legs, Jason's fingers rubbing it around my thighs. "Maybe we should worry about cleaning you and the Bat's car before we discuss that and this." Touché Hood.

Hi! Could you maybe do a platonic yandere batfam where they basically neglected the reader for a while and something happens like them getting kidnapped or something and they all become super yandere for reader thank you!
Night of the Knight
Summary: You snuck out almost every night, it was no big deal, except when it was.
Pairings: Platonic!Bruce Wayne x Reader, Platonic!Tim Drake x reader, Platonic!Jason Todd x reader
Warnings: Neglect, assault, yandere behavior
On the nights where being alone was too much for you was when you snuck out. You had thought about leaving and never coming back before. Walking down the streets of Gotham, you wondered if they’d even notice. If you don’t come down for dinner anymore, or the school starts calling about your absences.
You tie your shoes and put on your hoodie, shoving some cash into the pockets. And of course a pocket knife, this was Gotham, after all.
You opened your window and felt the cool air on your skin. Being adopted by a vigilante paid off at times like this. You carefully made your way down the big house. You quickly made your way into Gotham, using the same route you’ve used dozens of times.
Finally feeling free, you take a big breath of air. If you were being honest, the people who lived on the streets of Gotham were more of a family to you than the one you were forced into.
You decided to buy some food off of a random food truck. You slowly ate, saving the rest of the bag of food for your friends.
Turning a corner, you suddenly felt yourself being pushed back into a brick wall. You dropped your bag, and quickly grabbed onto your pocket knife.
The man quickly pushed your arm back into the wall, and after a bit of struggling was able to take the knife from you. Bruce barely even trained you these days that you must’ve been getting rusty.
He grabbed onto you and threw you onto the floor. A lamp light shone onto your face.
“Fuck,” you hissed, grabbing onto your arm in pain.
“Wait a damn minute,” the man said. “You’re that Wayne kid, right?”
Shit. Even though your family didn’t remember who you were, it didn’t mean that Gotham had forgotten about you.
You tried to get up but the man stomped onto your shoulder. You screamed.
This is one of the only times you wished that one of your masked family members would be around, but like always, no one came to your rescue. At least that’s what you thought before everything went black.
______________________________________________
Jason knocked on your door, wanting to hang out with you.
Even though he didn’t spend much time at the manor anymore, he could easily tell that you were being excluded.
When you didn’t answer, he opened the door slightly to peek into your room. The light was on, but you weren’t in your room and the window was open. He easily came to the conclusion that you had snuck out.
Sure, if you were any of his other siblings he wouldn’t care, the Batkids have done their fair share of sneaking out, but you weren't like any of his other siblings. For fucks sake, you weren’t even a vigilante.
He decided (a bit begrudgingly) to contact Bruce and to tell him that you weren’t in your room.
________________________________________________
When you woke up, you felt sore and sleepy. Just moving hurt.
Alfred was by your side in an instant as soon as you made a sound indicating that you were awake.
You asked him what happened, sure that you would’ve been in some creepy ass warehouse.
“Master Bruce had found you just before things could have gotten worse,” he explained while handing you a glass of water and some pain killers. Soon you drifted off to sleep, ignorant to the fact that Bruce had bolted your window shut, and to the cameras that Tim placed in your room.

Part 4 - Show me those issues
Dp x DC AU: Regent!Jazz & Vigilante!Jazz
Masterlist Part 3
"Show me those issues, how you've been misused. Yeah girl, I'm with you." -Train Wreck by Divide the Day.
Previously on The Regent:
It wasn’t as if the Pit Madness could just be gone, right?
Right? (Jason Todd was no fool, the Madness was still there.)
(Just… sedated. Like it didn’t need to boil to the surface anymore where it concerned his murderer.)
And for the first time in a very long while, Jason felt like himself again.
Until the agony began.
Tumblr media
In a strange synchronized motion, both Jazz and Danny twisted their bodies towards the spirits who began screeching in the air between the two, ghost speak intertwined with screams of the damned, demanding the Regent and the Prince help the Robin.
“Broken Robin, bloody bird, help, help, help. Agony, pain, corruption”
Danny didn’t hesitate for a moment to transform into  Phantom, calling over his shoulder for Jazz to bring her last few pure ecto vials along as he phased out of the apartment.
Jazz sighed heavily as she unlocked the safe in her bedroom, three vials remaining within. All the supply the Regent had left for the month, until Wulf was able to deliver more.
In any other circumstance, Jazz would have refused to hand over something so vital to her health- escpecially since she was burning through her ecto-levels acting as a vigilante and a Regent, with frequent travels to the Infinite Realms to work on paperwork and attend Council meetings.
However, Jazz felt the tugging in her chest, the instinct that she had to give up her ectoplasm for the agonized Robin. And she was not one to ignore such strong instincts.
Vials tucked safely into her bra, Jazz summoned her ecto-sword with only a thought and cut into the air, opening a portal in the between to take her to where the spirits demanded she go.
Jazz stepped through after a heavy sigh, bones feeling as if they were filled with cement.
No rest for the wicked after all.
Tumblr media
Danny had already arrived ahead of her by the time Jazz stepped through her portal, fussing over what seemed to be the local unfriendly neighborhood vigilante, Red Hood, without his signature helmet and sweating green droplets profusely.
Oh.
So that’s how she’d been sensing him. He’s got ectoplasm in him and (by the rancid scent lingering in the air) corrupted at that.
“Did he go swimming in the Realms sewer?” Jazz asked, half-seriously as she willed the portal closed behind her and leaned her sword against a wall before pulling out the vials of pure ecto.
Danny struggled to laugh at her attempt at humor however, chirping and warbling at Red Hood’s prone form. Jazz offered the vials to her little brother, “Will these flush out the corrupted ecto?”
He didn’t answer her, poking at Hood’s chest plate, a warble of worry-horror filling the air.
“Danny.”
Jazz reached for her proto-core (tucked behind her heart) and chirped back with concern-worry-resignation.
Which worked to get Danny’s attention and he snapped his focus to her, “Jazz, give him the pure stuff! He’s starving!”
Oh again.
In Hood’s current state, could he swallow it on his own?
No, he couldn't. He'd likely choke on it or spit it back out on reflex. One of them would have to administer it by mouth.
Jazz sighed heavily before she uncapped the first vial and tipped its contents into her mouth. The familiar battery-acid taste was heavy on her tongue as she tried not to reflexively swallow it in her hunger.
(She tried to ignore how her heart raced.)
Jazz leaned over Red Hood's prone body, gently carded one hand into his hair, and set the other onto his throat before she pressed her lips onto his own.
Tumblr media
To stay in my shadows you must aid my Knight, Regent.
Of course, My Lady.
I speak of the one born in my streets and unburied in my soil, hidden under Red.
The Red Hood?
The Once Bright Light of Gotham, unavenged. Care for him and he will care for you.
Tumblr media
Frostbite had been quite shocked at their sudden arrival to the Far Frozen with Red Hood in tow. Jazz’s sword made quite an entrance after all, and Danny’s choice to drop hood’s sweating and shivering body into the Yeti’s arm was enough to get him into motion.
“Great One, Regent.” The Tribal Leader greeted them as he turned on his heel with his cargo firm in his grasp.
“Hey Frosty. Gotta doozy for ya.” Danny quipped with some warmth. Being in Realms again seemed to cheer him up ever since the move to Gotham, even if it wasn’t a common occurrence anymore.
(Jazz kept him far away from the Observants since taking the crown.)
(Nosey one-eyed bastards.)
“Hi Frostbite.” Jazz offered her own greeting as they followed behind the Yeti into the tribe proper.
It had been some time since Jazz had been into the Healing tents, but Danny had always enjoyed Frostbite’s company so he easily maneuvered his way around the equipment and tables towards the sectioned off beds in the back, which were Yeti sized and easily dwarved Hood’s own six foot brick house frame.
Frostbite hummed as he examined his new patient, having heard Danny explain their treatment thus far of Hood.
“Great One, you were correct in this regard. Red Hood was dying of Corruption due to ectoplasm.”
“But?” Jazz proded.
“His proto-core has accepted the pure ecto and has begun to stabilize.”
Both siblings breathed a sigh of relief. That was good news, especially to hear of a new Liminal that could survive Gotham- means Hood was a survivor in more than one regard.
“However, there is something more concerning…” The Yeti trailed off, a soft growl left in the wake of his words.
“Frosty?”
“Pardon me, Great One. It seems that Red Hood’s proto-core isn’t ice-based, it needs warmth.”
Danny, despite the seriousness of the situation, laughed at Jazz’s resulting blush at Frostbite's words.
(Oh I can keep him warm.)
Not to mention how she they had gotten the pure Ectoplasm down his throat to begin with
“Regent?”
Jazz sighed and answered the Yeti, “I can offer him my warmth until he can be returned.”
Frostbite pondered for a moment, “Ah, yes, the Regent has a Fire-based Proto-core. That should do well.”
(Danny had laughed himself sick when it had come to light that Jazz was his opposite in core too.)
(Fire and Ice)
(Hero and Villain)
With a passive glare at her now-chuckling little brother, Jazz approached Hood’s bed and carefully climbed in alongside him.
(She did her best to block out how her body wanted to curl into him, grasp onto him and never let go.)
Turned onto her side away from him, back pressed to his form, Jazz forced her body to relax and let her natural warmth seep out from her core into the vigilante at her back.
(Little did Jazz know that she would cuddle him in her sleep.)
(And that a pesky younger sibling would coo and take a few pictures to save as blackmail.)
Tumblr media
Jason dreamed.
He dreamed of his mother, the good days when she would read to him softly and wrap him in her arms.
He dreamed of late night patrols with his dad, tucked under his cape when he wanted to feel safe.
He dreamed of a red haired woman who kissed him softly, held him gently, and… chased the cold away.
Why had he been so cold?
Why was his heart aching?
It wasn’t supposed to ache.
He wanted his dad.
He wanted his books.
He wanted his dream woman to kiss him again and tell him her name, just so he’d have something to hold onto when he woke up.
(If he woke up.)

A/N:
Alright, part four! With a glimpse into Jason and Jazz's natural bond as, well, maybe... soulmates? Who knows. I'm a sucker for that trope.
If you want a spoiler for what's happening to Jason, check out the original prompt!

The warmth of the summer evening could be felt even inside the air-conditioned gym, as the last bits of bright sunlight entered through the floor to ceiling windows and kept the place warm like a greenhouse. A small crowd started to form, as shifts came to an end, classes were over, and the weekend soared in the horizon.
Carefully, you placed your weights side by side, from heaviest in the middle to lightest in the corners, aligned at the bottom, one inch apart from each other. You fixed your position, feet a few inches apart, aligned by the lines dividing the flooring. After fixing the last pair of weights one more time, you looked up from the floor to stare at yourself in the large wall mirror.
You could’ve looked worse, you thought. A long week's work gave you small bags under your eyes, and some pimples popping out here and there due to the stress. A few strands of your hair were unkempt, rebelling against your attentively put together ponytail. You could’ve looked worse, you repeat to yourself, a mantra you so wanted to believe in, trying to refocus on the exercise ahead of you.
Three sets of eight. Let’s go!
One, two, three, you counted, your strength vanishing as the numbers neared eight. Breathe, Yn. Breathe.
Placing the lightest weights on the ground, you moan in pain of what’s yet to come, but finish your set whole anyways, placing the last pair of weights on the floor just like you’d done before. Taking a step back to breathe, you rested your joints on your waist as your eyes followed others going by their routines through the mirror.
It was then your eyes stopped on a pair of blues you’d, unfortunately, grown used to. When his fell on yours too, you rolled your eyes and went back to your exercise, hoping to not meet them again tonight.
Around two months had passed since your encounter at the party, followed by the day in this same place where he’d decided to shower you with his water bottle and basically exposed you to the entire gym through your wet outfit. Safe to say, you did not start well, and neither did you try to fix how it started.
Meeting almost every day you came out to train, your relationship revolved around eye rolls, whispered curses and a few bumps here and there, most of them on purpose. You never shared greetings, or any other words for that matter, except for that one time he took over the machine you were using, and you almost had to bark to make him go away.
It took you a while to find out his name too. Jason was what you found out through one of the instructors, not that you were asking, it just came out in a completely unrelated conversation. It wasn’t your fault. But his name would never leave your lips and that was a promise you had done with yourself. He was always gonna be asshole, dumbass or dipshit to you.
Finishing another exercise with the same equipment, you took them one pair at a time to their stand, finding it completely unorganized, out of order, and missing a few weights. You had to take a deep breath, bring all the ones you used closer, and put all of them on the display in the correct order, heaviest to lightest, from left to right.
“You really gonna waste your time with all that?” a voice you did not recognize at first broke your attention away from your OCD crisis. Turning around, you met the great wall you came to know was called Jason and gave him his usual eye roll greeting. “Happy to see you two.” He said through clear sarcasm.
Ignoring him, you continued your work, putting the last pieces of the puzzle in their correct place before seeking the ones you’d be needing for your next set. You watched Jason place his own weights correctly on their reserved empty spots before he turned to you again.
“Gonna let Roy know he’s got a new employee on his hands.” He joked.
“It’s not my fault if people around here have no care for organization,” you commented. “Not that I owe you any explanation.”
Staring at your job on the display, evaluating if there was anything needing change, you hadn’t moved a foot, and Jason needed to get the weights that were just in front of you for his next set. Walking closer, extending his long limbs, he reached out to catch them, his breath hitting your skin along the way and the sweet smell of sweat mixed with coconut lingered in the air.
“You’re truly a joy to be around.” He mocked, towering over you as your shoulder barely touched his chest.
“I too thoroughly enjoy your company, mister.” You gave him a sour smile.
“For real,” he blurted out, placing the weight back on the stand. “What the fuck did I do to you?”
Oh, the audacity, you thought. Standing beside you, he had his arms crossed on his chest, his well-defined biceps, triceps, and every arm muscle a beautiful exposition of his own hard work and dedication.
“Where do I even start?” you laughed, thinking about every little thing this man had done to annoy you since the day you first met.
“From the beginning, love.” The way he sang the last word had your blood boiling, and he stared at you with a smug smirk and challenged you with his intoxicating blue eyes.
“Are you really forgetting the fact I can’t wear one of my favorite shirts and that you nearly had me exposed to the entire gym? For real?” you questioned him, incredulous.
“Those were accidents I’ve countlessly apologized for. You know what? It’s pointless arguing with you.” He retrieved the weight from the stand, not noticing how loose it felt after taking the 45lbs off of it.
“It’s pointless arguing with no arguments.” you stated, annoyance growing on Jason’s chest as he attempted to leave, but your words dragged him back to staring angrily at your face.
“You oughta be joking.” He laughed, taking a step back, flailing his arms around and accidentally knocking the weight stand with the 45lbs he had in his hands.
“Fuck!” you screamed.
“Shit”
Nervously throwing the weight he held to the floor, Jason followed you to where you were now sitting on the floor, holding your foot after the weight stand fell on top of it. He desperately looked between your feet and your painful expression, looking as if you were about to cry at any moment, completely lost on what to do to help the pain away.
“Fuck. Shit, shit! I’m so fucking sorry.” He continuously apologized. “I didn’t mean to.”
By that point, a small group gathered around you, some trying to put the display up again, while others just looked at you two the same time all other eyes fell on your loud interaction.
“You never fucking mean to,” you hissed at him, a low cry leaving you lips right after. Your foot throbbed in pain, radiating ache through your entire body, and you could only think of foul words and even fouler action. “You dipshit.”
“What’s going on?” the red head of the gym manager showed up between the crowd that formed around you, as he dug through them to kneel beside you.
“The weight rack fell on Yn’s foot.” Jason offered an explanation in your place, as you could only focus on your pain.
“You dropped it.”.
“As if I fucking meant it.”
“Alright, alright!” Roy interrupted your bickering, helping you take off your shoe to see how hurt your foot actually was. “You need to go to a hospital, Yn. It could be a lot more serious that it looks, so better prevent that regret later,” And taking his keys out of his pocket, he handed them to the exasperated raven-haired man beside him. “Take my car and bring her to the hospital down at 8th, they’re usually quicker.”
“What?” Jason inquired.
“Take her. To the fucking. Hospital.” Roy replied, pausing periodically to make sure Jason would understand.
“Why me?” he deadpanned.
“I don’t need a hospital,” you said trying to stand up, but the loud grunt that left your throat told them otherwise and Roy pushed you to sit down once more.
“Take her to the hospital, she wanting it or not, and go get that foot checked! Seriously, you two are pissing me off,” Roy threw his hands up in the air, clearly starting to lose his mind over your continuous confrontational attitude. “Yn, dear. You got over 20lbs on your feet, you have to get it checked. Do you have insurance?”
“Yeah,” you moaned as tears had started welling up on your eyes.
“Good,” and pushing his keys into Jason's hand he nearly screamed. “Go!”
You complained only once on your way to the hospital, and it was when Jason picked you up and carried you to Roy's car. The pain on your foot, however, was too strong to complain much more, and you secretly thanked him for doing so, not daring to say anything else to the Great Wall of Gotham taking you to the hospital.
The car ride was silent, only a few of your sobs and sighs heard along the way, but soon enough, you were lying in a hospital bed with Jason standing by your feet. A hot, young, but unfortunately married, doctor checked your hurt foot, examining the bruise on your instep and also its swelling.
Jason watched your expression shift to enduring the pain from “what the fuck is this man doing” once the doctor pressed on your foot a little, your bottom lip bitten to the point you could taste a bit of your blood. He could almost feel your pain from your face, an agony tingling his skin as he paid attention to the doctor’s moves.
“Well, we’ll take an X-ray of your foot for precaution, Miss Sn.” the doctor started, voice muffled by his white mask. “But as far as I can tell with just this examination, nothing seems to be broken and you can go home pretty soon.”
You released a breath in relief, glad to hear you were potentially fine and the words ‘go home’ and ‘soon’ in the same sentence.
Removing his gloves and putting them on his scrubs pocket, he proceeded to write something down on his papers before returning his attention to you. “In the meantime, I’ll get you medicated to relieve your pain. Do you have any allergies?” he asked, and you simply shook your head. “Perfect, I’ll call in a nurse. Your boyfriend here can just…”
“He’s not my boyfriend.”
“I’m not her boyfriend,” you two said at the same time, throwing the doctor away. “I’m not her boyfriend, but if there’s anything I can do…” Jason offered the doctor a toothless smile, as he patted Yn’s feet. She flinched at the pain and could honestly punch him in the face if he wasn’t so far away.
“Okay…” the doctor continued. “I was saying, your friend can just call the nurse if you need anything else.”
“Not a friend either,” you corrected again.
The doctor simply ignored your comment and disappeared through the curtains to see the other patients waiting in the emergency room, too busy to care for whatever the hell you two were.
When he left, an awkward silence fell between you two as you did everything but stare at each other for too long.
Looking around the small space you two shared, Jason found a chair by the corner and sat down with a heavy sigh. The movement caught your attention, as you stared at him with an eyebrow raised. He stared back at you and just mouthed a “What?” before you let it go and focused your attention on the nurse that had just arrived.
She offered you pain medication, which you took gladly, and within seconds you were starting to feel better. Your X-ray also didn’t take long to happen. He tried to help you get off the bed, but you pushed him away with your eyes, something he’d seen a lot coming from you, and only took the hand of the nurse to assist you to the wheelchair. The nurse, a woman around what Jason thought was her late thirties, with a round face and dirty blonde hair, asked if he would like to accompany you, but you happily replied in his place. “No!”
He waited for you to return, sat on the same uncomfortable chair you had left him on and his nearly discharged phone in his hands. It couldn’t distract him, though, as the guilt built up inside him, and he could only think of you the entire time you were away.
You had left your phone on the hospital bed, and it lit up with a notification, catching Jason’s attention. His eyes lingered on your photo as its background, but soon the screen turned dark again. Thinking once, twice, three times, he jolted from his chair to reach his arm over and grab it, unlocking the screen to stare at the picture more carefully.
There, you were smiling, something he noticed in the two months he’d met you he’d never seen before. He wondered if you could really do it or if that picture was just a result of your mad editing skills. Your hair was loose, not on the high ponytail or the braids you wore to the gym, but loose like the day he had met you at that party, and he thought you looked really pretty.
A bit of a narcissist, he thought to himself, but continued to smile at the picture in his hands.
When the same nurse brought you back from your X-ray, he quickly returned your phone to its original spot, as he watched you try to make your way to the bed without any help. Instinctively, he offered you his arm for support, and was very surprised once you took it, walking slowly till you were sat on the bed.
Thanking the nurse, Jason helped you lay down again, picking up your feet to place it on the bed and pulling you up till you were comfortably sat.
Then it was awkward again, with him searching for his chair to get away from you and focusing his eyes on the small bit of skin lifting up on his thumb. It ached a little, but for sure much less than your foot did. Jason couldn’t stop the guilt, couldn’t stop thinking of you, your feet, how close he was to you then and how disastrous he was to knock the weight stand down.
He knew he’d apologized a thousand times, but he felt he needed to do it a million more.
“Yn,” he called, and you looked up at him. Something in your look made him stall, he wasn’t sure what, but recomposed himself to continue. “Again, I’m really sorry. I never meant to…”
“Urg, I know,” you cut him off. “Can you just stop it, I’m already feeling better,” you complained, but offered a small smile upon feeling sorry for reacting that way.
You knew it wasn’t his fault, and as much as you disliked him, you also liked to believe you were fair and only blamed him for what he actually did and not this silly little accident.
“I know it wasn’t your fault. You’re an asshole, but not an evil one.” you said, hoping he could see you really meant it through your eyes and stop apologizing every five minutes.
“Thanks…?” he replied, letting out a breathy laugh, which you accompanied with one of your own.
You never thought you’d be laughing alongside Jason, never mind in a hospital room on a Friday night, but that wasn’t as bad as the picture may seem in someone’s head. Not that you were starting to like him, no. You simply knew how to enjoy a moment.
Jason was also enjoying it, especially since it wasn’t his feet that were hurt. He wanted to find something else, another joke, anything to continue this lighthearted conversation, but you fell in silence once again until the doctor returned with your X-ray results. This time, though, the silence that fell upon you wasn’t awkward, rather satisfying after so much hecticness since you’d left the gym.
He actually enjoyed being in your presence this time, and the short glimpse of a smile he got from you relieved him a little.
Thankfully, as expected, nothing was broken and you were soon released from the hospital with a medical prescription for painkillers, ice packs and long rest. Jason helped you get off the bed and was beside you as you walked slowly out of the building, barefoot against your good will and thin gym clothes not shielding you from the cold hospital air.
“Wait here till I get the car, it will be better if you don’t walk too much, it might hurt your foot even further.” Jason told you as you exited the building, walking ahead in the direction of the hospital parking lot.
“I’m Ubering home.” you announced, and he stopped dead on his heels.
“No.” he countered. “I’m driving you home.”
“You don’t have to, I can go on my own. It’s not like we want to spend the rest of our Friday night together, anyways.” you said, and something within Jason dropped.
“Yn, it’s nothing. Really. I promised Roy I’d take care of y…”
“I already said it, Jason. I don’t want to go home with you.” you repeated, glaring at him with wide eyes. “Why are you so insistent? Do you want to find out where I live so you can come murder me while I sleep?”
“If I wanted you dead I could do it right here, baby.” he gave you a toothless smile. “Fine!” he threw his hands in the air. “If you insist, go on then. You already ruined my Friday night.”
“Fine.” you said, faking a smile.
“Fine.”
Jason stepped away, leaving in the direction he remembered parking Roy’s car earlier, angry that you couldn’t be nice for a day and accept his ride home. It wouldn’t hurt you, in fact, it would only be safer. He’d drop you home, help inside your house or apartment, whatever you lived in, could even be a hobbit hole for all he cared, he wasn’t going to stay long anyway, make sure you were alright and leave.
However, Jason was raised a gentleman, and he couldn’t simply leave you there, alone, at this hour of the night. Especially not in Gotham of all places. So, he did the unthinkable when it came to you, and stayed. Turned on his heels and walked back in your direction.
Staring at your phone, begging for a driver to accept your ride, you didn’t notice him returning until his shadow blended in with yours. You looked at him, still bearing his gym clothes, the smell of sweat and coconut vanished a little, and raised your eyebrow.
“What?” you questioned.
“I can’t leave you here alone. Not at this hour,” he stated the obvious. “Roy would kill me if I did.”
He lied. He didn’t think Roy would kill him, he’d be upset, but not kill him. Roy didn’t care much about his clients, just a few of them, you included, but Jason would keep that a secret. Perhaps, he’d kill him if he’d left you there, or maybe that was just Jason’s thoughts going a hundred miles per hour as the faint lights of the hospital hit your face.
“Whatever.” you said, looking back at your phone the moment you saw a driver accepting your request.
“Whatever” he mocked your voice, but you only rolled your eyes, too tired to come up with something else in return.
The thing is, you were feeling bad for Jason.  Feeling bad for treating him so poorly the whole night while he wasn’t anything but the sweetest. You just couldn’t help it when you were around him, too stuck up in past events, too untrained to receive this sort of care from another man, to know how to react.
You felt the heat of shame reach your cheeks and you tried losing your ponytail to hide your face from him with your hair. But the shame and guilt came in strong, and the next word you said was perhaps the most painful thing you had to endure all night.
“Than…” you tried, but when he looked up at you from his own cellphone your voice cracked. “Thank you.”
Jason’s eyes popped open, surprised with what came out of your pretty mouth. So, amused as he was, he raised an eyebrow at you, begging with his expression to hear that word coming out of you again.
“Thank you, for tonight.” you clarified, as if it wasn’t obvious, but the smug smirk on his face and his eyebrow still up annoyed you into continuing. “You were really sweet in making me company, so thank you.”
“Wow, I’m gonna cry at such beautiful words,” he teased, and you rolled your eyes, a feat Jason had grown used to and was actually starting to like little, as this time, a small smile forced its way out on your lips. “But you don’t have to thank me, I owe you that.”
“Whatever.” you shrugged.
“Whatever” he mocked you again, but now really stealing that smile from you.
You could do it after all. It wasn’t just an editing thing, it was real. You could actually smile, who would’ve thought? And who would’ve thought Jason would actually think about it all night after he watched you leave in an unknown car, think about it as he drove back to the gym, and as he rode home on his bike. A feat he’d never expect to see but that he was glad he actually caught a glimpse of, even if for just a moment.
Roy told him he’d let him know when you arrived home safe, knowing full well Jason would wonder. Roy also knew, well thought, other things about you two, but those he’d let you two find out on your own.
Arriving home, you were thankful for living in a somewhat new building and for the existence of elevators. May the guy that invented those rest in peace in heaven and his children to live wonderful lives.
Your foot still hurt, but you could walk without crying. The years of pain endured during volleyball seasons since high school had trained you well to live through all sorts of pain, the one on your feet tonight not excluded.
You wanted to get in, order some expensive dinner, take a long bath, pick a fun movie, and watch it until you fell asleep. However, your wishes would not be granted tonight, because as soon as you opened your apartment door, you were greeted by a voice you did not think you’d hear today.
“Oh, thank god!” your mother exclaimed, rushing from her place at the sofa to embrace you in a tight hug. “We were so worried.”
“Don’t you reply to your text messages?” your father asked, his tone, as usual, harsh and imposing.
“I-I’m sorry,” you started to apologize, letting go of your mother’s hug. “I didn’t see your message, I swear, I was… busy.” You lied.
“Where were you this late, honey? We were so worried,” your mother petted your hair, fixing the loose strands behind your ear and making sure it all sat perfectly in place. “We know this city isn’t safe, you could’ve been murdered!”
“Mom,” you laughed at her dramatics. “I’m fine, I was just at the hospital.” you explained, though your voice lowered considerably.
“The hospital?” your father screamed gravely, and you could hear the anger hiding somewhere in his tone.
“I-it was nothing, really. Just some weights that fell on my feet at the gym and…”
“You still insist on that gym thing? Haven’t I told you it is not a place for a proper lady to be?”
“Dad, it isn’t…”
“Yn, have you decided when you are going back to Cameron?” your father demanded to know, bringing back a subject he always insisted on.
Your parents never wanted you to move to Gotham in the first place, thinking you’d be better off going to your local college, living at home, and finding word around the area. But yet, here you were. And they hated it.
“Dad, I’m not going back now, I have a job here.” you tried to explain, for what seemed to be the millionth time just this month.
“You can have a job at Cameron.” He cut you off, not ever allowing you to finish a sentence.
“Not in a big magazine.” you tried to argue, but you knew your father didn’t like it when you did, and you knew even more he was better at it than you ever will.
“You can have whatever job you want back in Cameron, Yn, and you know it. You tell me and we’ll get it…”
“Dad…” you tried to stop him, but he continued.
“Your mother and I had to work so hard to raise you and your sisters properly, to make you proper ladies, mothers, for you to just throw away all of it for a job at a silly women’s magazine.  You’re just being an ungrateful…”
“Reymond!” your mother stopped you from being scolded even more and held you by your shoulders, warming them from the cold that lingered your skin since you left the hospital. “She has just got out of the hospital. Leave the discussions for later, right sweetie?”
“It’s okay, mama.” you quietly replied, but the tears sitting in your eyes told her otherwise.
“What did the doctor say?” she asked, breaking your thoughts away from your father’s words and you gladly told her everything the hot doctor had told you, about how nothing was broken, and how you just had to rest and take your medication.
As your mother took care of you, your father sat on the sofa, his expression the usual frown you’d grown used to all your life. You knew, if he could, he’d drag you back to your hometown and make you live the same life he and your mother had, the one your sister lived now, and the one he so wished you would follow.
In his view, he’d allowed you to go too far when he let you come to Gotham in the first place, but his wife and eldest daughter had said it was a good opportunity you could not let pass. A free ride to Gotham University. And he did let you go, but he regretted it every single day he did not have you under his wing. Under his control.
Sitting you on the armchair, your mother made sure your foot was elevated, made sure to know your medication hours and that you were comfortable before making you food and almost feeding you herself. She watched you all night while your father’s eyes never left the tv, even when you called him, trying to explain yourself once again. Why, you didn’t know, but you did it every time.
Instead, he watched whatever game was on tonight, no other words coming out of him until he and your mother retreated to your bedroom, leaving you to sleep on the hard sofa. Your mother kissed you goodbye, your father didn’t even glimpse at you.
You prayed they wouldn’t snoop around your bedroom like they’d done once before, hoping all your new hiding spots were actually efficient. You prayed they wouldn’t want to stay for the weekend, especially your mother after finding you injured, and that they’d leave the next morning as soon as the sun rose in the sky. Because just the few hours you had with them tonight were enough to set you anxiety aflame, taking you a while before finally managing to fall asleep.
When morning arrived, your mother woke you up so your father could watch the tv again and you could help her with breakfast, your injury apparently now forgotten. You ate in silence, hoping he too would share a single word other than the prayers he had you do before eating, but as sure as you are that the sun will rise every morning, he opened his mouth to speak.
“Jacob’s son has just graduated medical school and is returning to Cameron.” He informed, letting you know you were in for another uncomfortable topic. You rolled your eyes instinctively and received a warning to which you dutifully apologized for.
“He’s really good looking, sweetie,” your mother chimed in. “He could make a fine husb…”
“I’m still too young to marry.” you stated, even though you knew it would piss him off.
“Your sister was married as soon as she graduated college,” your father replied. “She’s now an active part of our church, and I want you to do the same.”
“I barely know this guy!” you tried, already feeling exasperated and it wasn’t even 8am yet.
“You could meet him, if you went back home.”
Here he was again with the same topic. One, two, three, four… you counted in your head, holding yourself together to not say anything to piss him off further.
“I’ll get ready for work.” you said, standing up from your place at the table.
“But it’s Saturday!” your mother exclaimed.
“And I’m expected at work. That’s what journalists do.” and avoiding any further conflicts, you locked yourself in your bedroom to get changed. Yesterday, you had frowned when your boss told you to, you’re needed to work on the weekend, but right now you were never so grateful for your terrible working hours.
Thankfully, once you got out of your room, ready to head straight to work, if necessary, your parents were already settled to leave, having to return home against your mother’s wishes to work on whatever it was your father needed. You didn’t pay attention. You were just happy to close your door after watching the elevator door close, taking your parents far away from you.
It was almost 9pm when you returned home, your day much longer than you had expected, but shootings never went as planned, and this time everything seemed to not work out at all.
You dragged your feet to your front door, fishing for the keys on your bag as the door close to yours opened.
“Arriving now?” your neighbor asked.
“Hm-hum,” you hummed in response. “Had to work on a shoot for the magazine today, I’m exhausted.”
Sighing deeply, you rested your shoulder against your door, enjoying the only nice presence you had your entire day.
“Saw your parents arriving yesterday,” she commented, raising an eyebrow, a move you’d seen enough the past two days. “Everything alright?”
It’s probable that no one else in your life knew so much about your relationship with your family like Nessie did, and you were glad you had her to share it with, not knowing what would be of you if she wasn’t there to help relieve all the build up frustration. But tonight, you were too tired to share anything.
“I’m gonna be fine,” you offered a smile. “I just wanna forget everything, really.”
Her eyes glimmered with a hint of mischievousness you knew to be wary of, but with a smile she made you an offer.
“I’m headed to a party tonight…” she awaited a sign, a huff, a roll of your eyes, but they didn’t come. So, she continued. “Lots of people, lot’s of alcohol to forget.”
She knew it wasn’t your thing, but it didn’t cost to try, and you’d gone the last time she invited you too.  Sure, you ended up hating it and going back home before 11pm, but she wanted to help, and nothing better to forget than a lot of free alcohol.
Her offer, for once, sounded interesting. Your parents, your work, your visit to the hospital the night before, too much in too little time had your head heavy, and you desperately wanted to feel light. So, against your better judgment, you said yes. Your friend jumped up with happiness, you changed your outfit, and thirty minutes later you had a drink in hand.
Jason’s brother let him know of the party tonight, but as was customary, he ditched him for the first girl he met within five minutes of their arrival. So now, he roamed around the house for drinks and snacks to entertain him while he decided to stay a little longer or just go home instead.
Turning a corner carefully this time, he walked through the living room and into the large garden, where numbers of people danced together to a pop song he did not recognize. However, upon staring at the dancing crowd, he spotted a scene he had to stop to make sure was actually real, that he wasn’t imagining things after too much alcohol.
A plastic cup in hand, Yn danced and sang to the tune, laughing with the group and finishing her drink down at once. Yn, the same girl who just last night he’d hurt a foot, the same girl he’d bumped into two months ago and seemed displeased to be at a party just like this one.
He had to stop and admire. It was a sight he did not expect to see. Resting against a table, he filled his cup with beer and crossed his arms on his chest while he watched the scene in front of him.
You, visibly drunk, or at least tipsy, wore a pair of jeans and a top that revealed a bit much of your chest that he was used to. He usually avoided them at the gym, I mean, he avoided you at all, but tonight his eyes lingered there for a while longer than he’d proudly admit.
He watched your hips move like he’d never even pictured before, or perhaps he did. But anyways, he was glad to be seeing you move like that. It wasn’t provocative, at all, you were just having fun. But it did provoke him, it did mess with him, it did make him trapped into your body, your moves, your smile.
Damn it, he thought, you looked hot.
It must have been the alcohol. He was clearly out of his mind. Refiling the drink he did not notice he’d consumed entirely, he vanished from the garden into a much quieter place, hoping to forget your image from his head, but failing oh so miserably.
Noticing your own drink was gone, you looked at the table where once they stood, only to find everything completely empty. Not one drop left for you to drink. Leaving the garden in search of more alcohol, you felt your head start to buzz, but the lightness you felt compensated everything.
You searched the kitchen, the living room, nothing. Where the hell is the alcohol? Scanning the room you were now in, you found a single bottle on the steps that lead to the upper floor. So, you took it.
“It has an owner,” someone sang before you could muster to catch the drink. Huffing, you let out a pout you honestly could not control, and just allowed you back to fall against the wall. “Are you upset?”
The baby tone used in mockery made you realize who that voice belonged to, and you greeted it like you usually would.
“Have I told you how cute you look when you roll your eyes?” he teased, biting the edge of his cup.
“Fuck off,” you swore.
“What a foul mouth,” he made fun of you again, and you were so intoxicated tonight you couldn’t let out a smile. “Did you know that until last night I didn’t think you were capable of smiling?”
He questioned you out of nowhere and you couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh, your head thrown back in reflex, and Jason swore he could hear that sound all day. “What?” you screamed through the loud music. “Of course I can smile.”
“You usually don’t,” he came closer. “Not at me at least.”
“It’s because you don’t usually deserve it.” you gave him a wink.
“Why are you so mean?” he pouted, and you laughed again.
“I hate you.” you stated, although your lingering smile didn’t make him believe your words.
“It turns me on,” he bit his lips. “I love it.”
His statement made your stomach feel funny, and your eyes rested on his lips tucked between his teeth for a while longer than you should’ve. Rolling your eyes, you left him to return to your friend, drunk but still aware of the shit you could’ve gotten into if you had stayed by him any longer.
Jason watched you leave and followed in tow, holding the door above his head as he saw you return to your friends. They had bottles in hand and immediately filled your cup, as you soon drowned yourself in alcohol once more. One cup after another, he watched you pouring your drinks, dancing with your friends, and having fun as he never thought you would.
It was way past midnight, some time between 1 or 2 am when he noticed you stumbling into the house again, a hazy smile on your face. Instinctively, he walked to you, holding you up as he guided you, or rather, you guided him to wherever you wanted to go.
“Where’s Nessie?” you pouted, a look he found adorable on you.
“Who?” he questioned.
“Nessie!” you said, as if he should know who that person was. He asked you one more time who you meant, and you proceeded to explain your friend’s appearance through a series of babbled out words.
With his hand resting on the base of your back, he helped you look for Nessie, yet she was nowhere to be found. Nobody seemed to know where she’d gone to either, and he noticed you getting progressively more worried.
“Maybe she went home,” he suggested.
“We were going together,” you moaned, and he had to stop himself from smiling at your state. “I’m gonna go home.”
You released yourself from his touch and strolled out of the room, stumbling steps knocking you against tons of people on the way. Following after you, Jason knew he couldn’t let you go out like this, not alone at least.
“Hey, Yn.” he called, watching you walk through the front door. “I’m coming with you.”
Grabbing at your arm, he waited for you to complain, but instead you nodded and puffed your lips out again, upset over your friend leaving you behind. Jason wanted to hug you. You looked so adorable, how could he not, but it would be too… weird, so he ignored his feelings and waited with you on the sidewalk.
Noticing the time pass and no car stop outside, Jason focused his gaze on you absentmindedly staring at your surroundings. “Did you call a cab?” he asked. You shook your head.
Letting out a breathy laugh, he pulled his phone out of his pocket to call for a ride. “What’s your address?”
“Hmm…” you took your time thinking, trying to remember your street, neighborhood, whatever could tip you into finding your address, but too much alcohol had seemingly destroyed your neurons and you couldn’t remember a thing.
“Okay…” Jason sighed, thinking of what to do next.
Losing your balance, you almost fell if it wasn’t for Jason’s strong grip on your waist. He held you close to his body, as your head immediately laid on his chest, your eyes heaving and your body becoming lighter in Jason’s arms. Against his better judgment, there was only one thing he could do.
“That’s it,” he said, staring at your sleepy frame as he held you firmly by the shoulders. “I’m taking you home with me.”
