A fanfiction or a series (my god, a series about this) in which Eli explains (in the voiceover for the series?) just how weird his family is.
Starting with Eli's many aunts and uncles, 3/4 of whom share no blood ties with him. ( Yes, the puppy pack is part of the Hale pack. Yes, Alec was Eli's babysitter. )
( Erica and Boyd would have twins about the same age as Eli. Why would that be? I have no idea. )
( For those who love Scott/Isaac/Allison, they would have 4 children. Yes, exactly, so that 3 of them would come from duos and the last one would come into the world thanks to the magic and presence of 3 DNAs. )
(The whole pack would not live in the huge mansion that is the Stilinski-Hale mansion. Thiam and Morey would have their own place. Sheriff would have refused to move in. )
Then his cousins, of all ages, each more unusual and annoying than the last. With whom he shares the same grimaces when they learn that most of their parents have gone out with each other.
( - Sweet Home Alabama-
- Shut up! )
His dziadzia, who had never been angry with him for ruining his wallpaper (he had every reason to be. They were horrible drawings-) and who had taught him to lie to his tata while making him promise never to lie, understood, you little rascal, when they went to get the greasiest order in the whole fast-food restaurant. And his babcia and his abuela and his abuelo and his tias and his tios and his primos and his primas he knew only in grave form.
Finally, his dads, who look like they hate each other half the time or would kill someone if it made the other half smile. His two dads who have criminal records but brunch with the station cops once a month. His two dads who are both biologically men and who have biologically managed to have a child together.
(Eli politely asks anyone who jokes about him being his parents' little shit to fuck off. His dads told him his tata had a C-section, okay ?!)
A fanfic or series in which we discover the famous Hale Pack that has risen from the ashes and is so feared and respected. Where we discover how Eli feels so alienated from the pack he loves and cherishes, so alienated from his family. How Eli feels he's not cut out to be the next Alpha of the pack. How certain Eli is that he'll never be anything like his incredible, powerful, famous dads, no matter how many times he's told he's the spitting image of Stiles or has Derek's eyes and sourwolf face.
Eli sees himself as the boring kid in this extraordinary family, the boring offspring of a rich heir to a famous werewolf pack, a bad boy with a tragic past in his youth, a DILF today with his dad's super skills, a fair and fierce true Alpha (alive and not DEAD) and an FBI agent as sarcastic as he is intelligent, a supernatural detective in his spare time, a fearsome spark, emissary and Alpha mate. Like the good old cliché of the character with no friends but his cousins and an overpowering entourage, so beloved and popular and so much more remarkable and interesting script-wise than he is.
(Perhaps Eli never could and never will be able to shift? Perhaps being human is in part the source of his fear.)
And being the good old cliché that he is, he apparently becomes interesting when he gets superpowers. (Stiles is not at all happy that the Nemeton has chosen him to be its guardian. In fact, no one in his family seems happy. Great.)

Kay's Whumptober Day #18
Prompt #18: Tortured for Information/Hit Them Harder Pairing: Tony D'Angelo/Carmen Donovan (OC) Mentions Of: Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, "Two Dimes" Troy Donovan, Legado Del Fantasma TW: Kidnapping, Blood, Torture Verse: Mafia
Tumblr media
Carmen Donovan could fondly remember the first time she had ever met her Tony. Her older brother Troy had brough his new best friend to their house and the Catholic school girl had been home to meet said boy. It was not love at first sight, God no. After all, he was a friend to her annoying older brother and in her eyes, that made Tony just as annoying.
But time had a way of changing all things.
The duo of Troy and Tony had evolved into the trio of Troy, Tony, and Channing. The boys had gone from mere annoyances to certified criminals, but then again it had always been in their blood. Tony was the son of the don of the D'Angelo crime family. He was destined to become mob royalty from the moment he was born. He had simply dragged Troy and Channing, ever the loyal friends, into the family business.
Not that Carmen had any knowledge of that.
A crime family was like a fraternity, the biggest news staying inside the male dominated society. That did not mean, however, that Carmen did not play a vital role for Tony. After all, it was her restaurant that the boys met in the back room of most nights to enjoy their drinks and play cards. At the end of the night, one of the three boys would help her clean and lock up before walking her home for the night. Since becoming Don of the family, Tony hadn't been able to stay so most nights anymore it was Troy or Channing.
Tonight it had been Troy and tonight had gone so 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜.
On the way home, a black van had followed before a trio of men had come from it and grabbed both Troy and Carmen, placing a rag over their mouths. Carmen had passed out and, when she woke up, it was in the blackness of an abandoned building. She struggled, her arms bound behind her back and a gag in her mouth. Her caramel brown eyes struggled to adjust to the darkness, but she could heart what sounded like a pair of heels against concrete. Carme struggled to try and free herself, just as the visage of a beautiful woman, followed by the three men Carmen had seen earlier, presented themselves from the shadows.
The woman, extremely well dressed and extremely beautiful, crossed over to Carmen. She ran a hand along Carmen's jaw before pulling the rag from her lips. "Please...please..." Carmen begged, tears in her eyes, "I dunno what you want or-"
"Shh, shh," the woman soothed, cupping Carmen's cheek in her hand, "my employer simply has a few questions for you, dulce niña."
"I don't know anything. I promise I don't know anything about anything," Carmen begged tearfully. She glanced around for some sign of Troy. Where was her brother?
"We know you work with D'Angelo, dulce niña," the tallest of the men spoke. He was impeccably dressed in a black suit jacket over a black button up and purple tie. He snapped his fingers and the two men at his side went to grab something from the shadows they had come from. "And we are willing to do what it takes to find out what we wish to know."
The other men dragged Troy from the shadows, and Carmen let out a scream. He was bleeding from the nose, his right eye already forming a deep bruise and almost swollen shut. Carmen tried to look away, only for the woman who had a grip on her face to make her look back at the scene. "Let him go. Please. Let him go."
"Oh, we will. 𝙄𝙛you tell us what we want to know," the man, obviously their leader, spoke again, "If not...well..."
"I can't tell you what I don't know!"
"When do the boys meet?" the woman asked, digging her nails into Carmen's jaw, "When does Don D'Angelo come to your place?"
When Carmen refused to answer, Troy was restrained from behind. The one of the men who did not have Troy restrained drew his fist back and punched Troy right in the stomach. Carmen was helpless to speak. She wouldn't speak. "Hit him harder, Mendoza. Keep a good grip, Cruz."
Again a heavy punch was landed to Troy's stomach. He spat a mouthful of blood, and a tooth, at his attacker. Tears ran down Carmen's cheeks and she tried not to scream for her brother. She couldn't give in. She wouldn't betray her Tony. The leader seemed furious and he turned towards Carmen, producing what looked like a lead pipe from his inner jacket pocket. The woman let go of Carmen's face and the gentleman placed the pipe under Carmen's chin. "One last time, querida. One last time or I swear I'll-"
"Don't touch her," Troy croaked from where he was held up by Cruz, "Escobar, I'm tellin' ya if ya hurt her..."
Escobar smirked, sharing a look with the woman next to Carmen before turning to where Troy stood, "What are you willing to do, señor?"
"I..." Troy let his eyes glance down and he spat blood at the ground, "I'll tell ya whatever ya wanna know."
"No!" Carmen shouted, trying not to sound as scared as she felt, "No, Troy, you can't...please...you know what..."
Carmen knew very little about what went on in the family behind closed doors, but she did know about the code of omerta. Omerta was a code of silence, refusing to tell anyone about the families activities. If that code was broken, then there was only one way that the code breaker would be dealt with. "I gotta, Carm..."
Escobar slid the pipe back into his jacket with a smirk, "Cruz, Mendoza. Take our guest back down to the van. Mr. Donovan and I are going to have a conversation."
Cruz tossed Troy down before both he and Mendoza untied Carmen, pulling her to her feet. She forced herself not to look at her brother, though she could feel her own heart breaking in her chest. If he survived the night, Carmen would keep her own code of omerta. She would not betray her brother in such a way.
Not even for Tony.

Since they are a hybrid Toshimaru needs no form change to use their webs or poison and can cast a few spells. Due to their nature of drama loving and looks they work as a Onnagata at a local theatre. They feel so wonderful on stage and get to be as they want. Bata is their stage name. Toshimaru has adopted Kagemaru's ideals now as a young adult so has a bitter issue with their human parent because of how weak they get when concerned for them.

Kyoshi says when his brother opens his eyes it's only when he is feeling an extreme feeling. Usually his Exes say they see his eyes but it's usually when they break up with him as he is known to spend a day or 3 after sulking. Deep down he thinks he is an awful man due to his love life issues when secretly a Kiyohime Ayakashi who loves him is cursing him.

WRITEBLR INTRODUCTION
DISCLAIMER: While this blog will not feature any sexually explicit content, my writing does deal with mature themes that are intended for 18+ audiences only.
Hey, I’m Max! Hailing from the Land Down Under, I’m a twenty-one year old aspiring writer, artist, and all-round lover of the eccentric.
In my desperate attempt to rekindle the dying embers of my creativity, I’ve come to seek refuge here, in the Tumblr writing community! While I’m mostly known for being an artist online, I am fairly new among writing circles, and it’s been a good few years since I’ve made any original writing of my own. So I’m hoping that, by engaging with more people who are passionate about writing, I’ll garner the motivation I need to finally get my projects off the ground!
ABOUT ME
My writing-related interests include having:
A propensity for dabbling in long-winded, pretentious prose, dripping with affectation and garnished in sarcasm.
An eclectic taste in literature: I love genres of all sorts! Speculative fiction is my go-to, but I specifically enjoy New Weird fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, horror of practically all kinds, as well as mystery and crime fiction.
A shameless tendency for writing sad, pathetic men in the midst of existential dread, and;
An unwavering desire to break the conventions of storytelling, one grueling draft at a time. :’) The weirder the stories, the better!
MY WRITING
What should you expect from my writing?
I love character-driven stories, so those tend to be the focus of my work. I especially enjoy exploring the processes of thinking my characters go through to justify their actions, which makes morally-ambiguous characters some of my favourite types of characters to write and read.
My settings tend to be dystopic, severely-skewed from the narrator’s perspective, or otherwise otherworldly. I mean, the setting almost always ends up being Earth, just... Earth, but five steps to the left.
Many of my works aim to add a bit more diversity to queer writing and storytelling, with an emphasis on attempting to capture queer experiences that are not often depicted in media.
MY REVOLVING DOOR OF WIPs
COMICS
PANTOMANIA - New Weird | Mystery | Crime
After seven years of being made subservient to the whimsical tyranny of Chaos Vega and Dr. Entropy, the city of Goetia feels a sudden shift in the air. An election, a high-profile murder, and a palpable restlessness in the criminal underworld seek to threaten our beloved villainous duo.
Mystery Madhouse - Satire | Comedy | Mystery
Offered one final chance to work at Bozo’s Carnival, two clowns are landed a job at the newest and hottest attraction in town - the Mystery Madhouse. When people who visit the Mystery Madhouse start to go missing, however, Pip and Zaz have to do everything in their power to not lose their jobs.
G4Y GUY & STR8 GURL - Satire | Comedy
A series of short comic strips about idiot coworkers who engage in a petty rivalry.
NOVELS / MISCELLANEOUS WRITING PROJECTS
The Terror of Man - Sci-Fi | Dystopian
In a world where humans evolved to read minds, what does it mean to have a mind that cannot be read? Born with a severe form of aphantasia, wherein all forms of perceivable thought cannot be conjured, Professor Katsuki Mori utilises his skills in cryptophantology to uncover the mysteries of human thought.
Juvenile Love - Anthology
A personal project in which I analyze and rewrite my old creative writing stories. This is intended to be a writing exercise for myself, but I’ll share any stories or analyses that I find particularly worth commenting on.
I love making new friends and talking about anything and everything to do with writing and art, so please don’t be afraid to talk to me!

Ok weird request if it’s to hard don’t do it scenario fluff where Theo/Mc have a newborn baby and how Theo is like like um he takes care of the baby by himself for the day this is so weird I’m sorry if it’s to hard u don’t gotta do it LOL
Not weird at all! I hope you like it, I felt very soft when writing this ;u;
Also imagine this: Theo has to take care of something but he's holding the baby. Arthur is the only person around but he doesn't wanna see the smug grin on his face when he's holding HIS child. Begrudgingly, he passes them to his bestie saying "You may hold the child. Once." idk it made me smile
also reference to than one meme that went "you may spank it, once."
A father's heart - Ikemen Vampire (Theo)
Sitting on the velvet armchair in the stillness of a spring afternoon, Theo held his beloved bundle of happiness with his arm, lulling it up and down, chasing away any possible disturbance from their sleep. Softly humming an old nursery song that stayed with him throughout his childhood, he gazed attentively at the small face laying on his chest, memorizing every small detail with a love and care he reserved for particularly beautiful paintings only. The baby's eyes were now closed, a peaceful expression on their face, but when they were open, there was always a bright spark of inquisitiveness, and they looked around with great curiosity; many had told him that they were of the same sky blue as his own, and whenever such comments emerged during conversations, they'd go straight to his chest, filling it with pride and joy. To his biggest dismay, he was no artist and had no talent for art, but he firmly believed that this was the greatest creation he could ever achieve, even in a thousand lifetimes. No masterpiece could compare to the feeling of holding his own child between his arms; it was the creation of your love, a mixture of you and him, yet completely original and unique on its own.
As he lazily swam through such pleasing considerations, a wide smile forming on his lips unbeknownst to him, a small hand reached up to grab his collar, half-opened blue irises trying to get used to the cozy light permeating the parlor. A small whine, then another, slightly louder than the previous broke the still atmosphere.
“Feeding time, already? Let's go get you some milk then, little one.” Sitting up, Theo strolled out of the warm room, walking downstairs towards the kitchen. Passing by the dining room, he met the local pianist's grimace with a glare of his own. Yes, the baby was crying. Yes, he knew how much Mozart disliked loud and annoying sounds. BUT! They were his baby angel's, and as such, he accepted no manifestation of displeasure around the child. Even when their diaper was full of smelly excretions or their throat sore from crying out loud the whole night, they still were one of the best things that had ever happened in his life; alongside you and Vincent, obviously.
After finally reaching the kitchen counter, Theo skillfully prepared the feeding bottle (one of the many gifts from Comte's trips to the future) and turned on the stove to heat the milk. As he waited for everything to get ready, he took out a pacifier from his breast pocket, and offered it to the baby, in the hopes of distracting them for a couple minutes. In the meantime, the art dealer's best friend and worst nightmare stepped into the small room, eyes full of mischief like usual.
“Who do we have here, the inseparable duo! Already having some attachment issues, are we?” Despite being met with just a grunt, Arthur kept his Cheshire grin in place and moved closer, cooing in delight as a joyful giggle came from the small creature. “How can you treat me so coldly, when even your own newborn adores me so much?~” When, after saying such words, Arthur spread his arms as if inviting the child to escape their own father's embrace, Theo turned the other way, looking even more annoyed than before. “There's no way in hell I would be giving YOU my kid of all people. You'll probably drop them.”Another giggle from the infant. “What kind of criminal are you trying to paint me as!”
As their banter went on, gradually louder than the previous whines that had disturbed Mozart so much, the art dealer swiftly poured the warm milk inside the bottle, letting it cool down a bit before sitting down in the dining room, Arthur following suit behind him. Any complaint and half insult that was flying in the air before, completely quieted down as both men's attention caught sight of the newborn calmly drinking. As the bundle's small hands gripped the bottle, Theo lost himself in the sight before him. Seeing the baby alive, safe, and contentedly drinking the milk like a starved man made him realize once more how lucky he had gotten in this second life of his.
“Theo.”
Thinking back, if you hadn't stepped in and convinced him not to throw his life away for revenge then he, you and your child wouldn't be here.
“...Theo!” The man immediately snapped out of his thoughts when his friend snatched the bottle away from him. “You're feeding them too much! Also, you have to...” Immediately understanding what needed to be done, Theo gently held them upwards and rubbed their back, waiting for the cause of discomfort to disappear before finishing the bottle feeding session, ignoring the other's teasing look.
Parting ways from the English writer, the chestnut-haired vampire took his dozing infant to the nursery, lovingly tucking them in their white cradle. After doing so, he did not immediately go away, instead remaining there by their side, gazing at them with a peace and quiet that would trick one into thinking that his aquamarine eyes were his brother's instead of his own. As he smirked at the realization of how uncharacteristic this tenderness was of him, gaze focused on the baby's sleeping face, he felt a pair of arms sneak around his waist, hugging his body in a tight embrace. Immediately recognizing your gesture, Theo turned around and held you back, closer still. You had barely been out for a couple hours, and yet he had missed you so dearly. The family would never be complete without you.
Carefully tucking those thoughts at the back of his mind, he pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Had fun in town today?”
“Surely not as much as you did. You look so relaxed, darling. That loving expression, it suits you.”
“It's all thanks to you, liefste”

Yandere Teams //Twisted Wonderland x Reader//
The quality of my writing keeps getting worst and worst 🤣
===========================================================
Tumblr media
Malleus + Lilia
Lilia and Malleus are one of the better pairs of yanderes to share a darling. Malleus is so eager to keep his darling locked up, away from everyone, everything. But simultaneously Malleus has a weak spot for Lilia, he looks up to the older fae and desperately wants to gain his approval. He also trusts his judgment, so if Lilia wants to play a little bit "rough" with the darling then Malleus is willing to turn a blind eye. On the other hand, Lilia has a sicker, much more twisted manner of thinking about their situation, the older fae doesn't just see the Darling as his property he also sees Malleus as his now! Yes in Lilia's warped mind both Malleus and the poor darling belong to him and only him.
Life with the two isn't too bad, it's really all a matter of staying on both their good sides. Don't tick off one and expect the other to side with you. Malleus always takes Lilia's side no matter what, in his eyes, the pink and black-haired fae can do no wrong. On the other hand, Lilia just doesn't care. 'Malleus put you under a sleeping curse?' oh well that just how he is. 'Malleus broke your arm when he mistakenly thought you were attempting to escape?' That's just how things are around here better get used to it.
Just sit around like a nice pretty doll and let the two powerful fairies do as they want with you and everything will be okay.
Tumblr media
Jade + Floyd
It all started when you made the mistake of asking Jade out on a date. One day when you'd swallowed up enough courage you marched up to your senior and all but begged for a date. To your surprise, Jade had agreed, hesitantly but never the less the "yes" was said. Oh, how happy you had been that day. Rushing back to your dorm room to doll yourself up.  Fantasizing about the date as you danced around the room.
But when you actually arrived at the Mostro Lounge somethings off. Jade isn't...well, right. His smile is too big stretching across his cheeks in the most unnatural manner. His eyes have lost their spark, they're dull and dead almost like they're made of silicone. His personality isn't right either, he's too fidgety too hyper. He's all but bouncing off the walls and singing every other word.
When you finally walk over to him, the teal haired teen lounges himself at you, wrapping his arms so tightly around your body that air can't pass through your lungs. It's in that quick-paced breathless moment that you realize your mistake. This isn't Jade, this isn't the sweet charismatic gentleman no..this is his brother Floyd, the one person in NRC that haunts your dreams. The one boy that never goes one day without screaming your name through the hallways and "accidentally" bumping into you.
Try as you might to get out of his grasp and run for the exit, it's all futile. The younger just keeps hugging tighter and tighter until pesky black spots start to float around your sight, the bright lights fade into shimmering orbs as your consciences slowly slips away.
It's later when you wake up that you notice just how grave and hopeless your situation is. The grinning faces of both twins are peering down at you, sharp teeth on full display as they get closer and closer...
These two are the most in sync yanderes you will ever meet. Sure they seem like polar opposites but when it comes to their darling they can agree on practically EVERYTHING.
Now friendly reminder that Floyd is the more aggressive one out of the two. His cold fingers are always trickling over your skin, pinching the flesh as he proclaims how "cute" you are. Jade is the last string of sanity for both you and his brother. He makes sure you are both in line and never go overboard...technically Floyd never goes overboard. Jade is also much more hesitant to hurt their precious darling, he does enjoy how much you need him, but he hates seeing his little "goldfish" (the only fish's name I can write without getting a mini heart attack, yes I hate fish that much XD) in any form of pain. Now both marks are a completely different story, both twins adore marking their darling. Jade prefers to leave "love bites" over your neck and shoulders trailing down to your arms, while Floyd prefers to mark your thighs and torso area.
The twins may not be the most intense yanderes but they aren't very subtle either, just when you're starting to go with the flow they change something to throw you off and send you spiraling down a waterfall of confusion.
Tumblr media
Riddle + Chenya Riddle and Chenya are the most contradicting yanderes you'll ever meet. These two can't agree on anything! Riddle usually set rules but Chenya always manages to convince their darling to break them under the pretext that "they won't get punished". Technically he's not telling a complete lie, He won't get punished but you sire will. Riddle is slightly more sympathetic when he's punishing his darling for a broken rule that Chenya convinced them to break. He knows that it's all his childhood friend's fault but he still has to discipline you with the hope that next time you won't listen to that idiot.
Now both these boys are possessive and desperate for any form of affection their beloved will give. Doesn't matter if it's kisses or gentle head pats so long as they can feel their s/o's tender fingers over their flesh. This usually leads to a tug of war between childhood friends. One of them is always trying to strangle your attention away from the other. Wither its Chenya sneaking up behind you and Riddle while you cuddle or Riddle yell and screaming until you and Chenya break apart your kiss and make room for him on the couch.
Overall these two are so chaotic together that sometimes their darling wonders why they even teamed up in the first place...
Tumblr media
Leona + Ruggie Leona and Ruggie are actually a very underhanded duo. It's obvious from the start that Leona is pulling the strings. He manipulated Ruggie into helping him, briding the younger boy with the promise of the darling's undying love or food, either one works. It's Ruggie that does the physical kidnapping, it's also Ruggie that has to take care of the darling. Making sure they stay fed, clean, having something to wear after both he and Leona got rather aggressive on some nights. He does all the heavy lifting, while Leona just lays around cuddling the darling before falling asleep.
Leona has multiple ways of keeping both Ruggie and the darling in line. He's always being so considerate, so "caring" constantly showing them in pricey gifts or treating them over the top fancy restaurants. Anything at all no matter how expensive as long as it keeps them compliant.
These two do make a good team, but it's all manipulation and mind games. When the dust settles did either of them really love you? Or was it all a sick game for the two wild beasts?
Tumblr media
Divus + Sam
Now Divus and Sam are a rather...odd mix. They don't work very well as a team at first, they're constantly bickering arguing over the smallest things. What their darling will wear, what she'll eat, etc, etc
It gets so bad at one point that Divus and Sam actually start a custody battle over the poor darling. The other teachers are intrigued, playing along for their own amusement. At some point, Lilia - only wanting to see how disastrous it will be- suggests a trial like they do in the movies and because the teachers in NRC are over-glorified children themselves that's exactly what they do!
The jury is made up of the dorm leaders, all reluctant to be there -with the exception of Kalim and a very confused Malleus- Ashton is Divus' lawyer, a horrible one at that. The man has no idea what's going on and is constantly yelling "OBJECTION"!  At some point, Azul and Riddle take their gym teacher aside to explain the basic principles of a courtroom to him.  He's slightly better after that bringing in students to testify for professor Crewel after he promises them a passing mark in his class that is.
Mozus is surprisingly a great lawyer, he has the perfect "witness", asks all the right questions and is constantly throwing shade at how bad Ashton is at anything that requires a bit of wit.
Crowley is obviously the judge, he's just happy to be there honestly. The poor bird-man's throat is slowly going raw from the number of times he's screamed at Ashton to quite down, at Leona to wake up, at Kalim to sit down, at Vil to stop checking his makeup and at Idia to get off his dame phone! An hour into the "Trial" and he already has his verdict.
That leaves you, the reason this whole catastrophe started. You're seated by the headmaster, dressed up in a glittering white dress, your hair and makeup done as if you were the guest of honor at some banquet. Your hands are threaded with silver handcuffs identical to those used on criminals if anyone with no prior knowledge to these events was to enter they surely would think that you were the criminal on trial here.
Finally Crowley proposes a split. Divus gets the darling from Sunday to Tuesday, while Sam gets her on Thursday until Saturday. With Wednesday being a day in which they both get their beloved. The setup works for a few weeks, almost shy of a whole month but...
It gets too much, neither men can standing being apart from their lover for three whole dame days! It's to vexing, too taxing. So they find another way, actually, it's Sam that turns up one day at Divus' room looking like a kicked puppy and all but begging to see their darling. Feel a tingle of pity Divus lets him in. This ends up becoming a normal thing. Every time Sam has you Divus will show up in his room and visa versa. They get better at sharing, agreeing with one another, one may even say they start to enjoy each other's company as much as their darling's.

(via Lucy Liu's Independent Woman - Interview Magazine)
There have been many great sidekick pairings in the history of modern literature. Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, Phileas Fogg and Jean Passepartout, Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet…the list goes on. Yet, it seems there has never been a delightfully tumultuous relationship that comes close to echoing the one embodied by rogue detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful friend and assistant Dr. John Watson. Written in the form of short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the opium-den loving Holmes would terrorize London with his intellectual, astute, and stubborn prowess, with Dr. Watson providing medical expertise and chronicling their entertaining exploits along the way.
Doyle’s works have now long been entered into the public domain, with many film and television adaptions cropping up every few years. Still, when CBS announced in 2012 that it would be turning Doyle’s works into an hour-long crime-drama series titled Elementary, it elicited an unusually high response—this was mostly due to the news that a woman would, in fact, be portraying Watson. Her name would be Joan, not John. And she’s now a fallen from grace surgeon-turned-sober companion and private detective, forfeiting her “Dr.” title in the process. The woman chosen to take on this exciting, contemporary role of Joan Watson was none other than seasoned actress Lucy Liu.
Liu, who’s best known for her roles as a fierce and ill-mannered lawyer in Ally McBeal, an ass-kicking “angel” in the rebooted Charlie’s Angels, and an equally ass-kicking bad girl in the Kill Bill series, certainly provides the yin to the yang of Jonny Lee Miller’s gritty portrayal of Holmes. Elementary chronicles the duo’s relationship as they consult for the NYPD on various criminal cases while living in a shared brownstone in Brooklyn Heights. Initially starting off in Season One as a substance-free friend to the fresh-out-of-rehab Holmes with a keen interest in solving crimes, Watson quickly transformed into a sharp and observant right-hand woman who now clearly has the aptitude to work on her own. And it appears she’ll be doing just that—the end of Season Two left viewers witnessing Watson’s decision to move out of the brownstone and start a new career as a solo private detective, seemingly fed-up with Holmes’ erratic behavior.
The warm and delightful Liu recently called up Interview from her home in New York City to discuss Elementary’s upcoming third season.
DEVON IVIE: Were you on set today?
LUCY LIU: I was running around like a maniac, yeah. It’s beautiful today, it started getting a little bit cooler again. But of course I’ve been bitten by the two mosquitos that are still alive in New York City.
IVIE: I know you were recently at New York Comic Con. How was it?
LIU: It was amazing. It’s such a spectator place. Not only do you get super fans, but you also get people who are curious and inventive and imaginative. It’s fun.
IVIE: Did you run into any cosplayers dressed as Joan Watson?
LIU: Oh, no, I don’t know about that. That’s funny! We did a panel with a huge audience so I couldn’t really see if anyone was wearing anything specific, but it’s an excuse for kids and adults to get dressed up and just be crazy. You know you’ve made it when you have super-fans out there.
IVIE: When you first read the scripts for Elementary, what was it that attracted you to the role of Joan?
LIU: I liked the fact that it was going to be about [Joan and Sherlock’s] relationship and their friendship, and bringing that into modern times. And I thought it was wonderful to change up the gender.
IVIE: Did you immerse yourself in Arthur Conan Doyle’s work as preparation at all?
LIU: I did, I did! I started reading the short stories. I never read them before so it was a really great excuse to read them. I can’t believe it was written so long ago, because it’s so current. The characters are so colorful, which is why I think there are so many incarnations of Watson and Holmes.
IVIE: Do you have a favorite story? I love “A Scandal in Bohemia.”
LIU: There were some pretty amazing stories. The one that stood out to me, which was a Watson story that I got to know him a little more through, was “The Hound of the Baskervilles.” He really is on his own in that. Of course it turns out that Holmes has been there all along, but it’s interesting looking into his interior.
IVIE: Yeah, the entirety of “The Hound of the Baskervilles” is narrated just by Watson. And his diary and letters, too.
LIU: Yeah, I think it’s really cool. We started incorporating that into the show, too, the letters and journals.
IVIE: Has this detective genre always appealed to you? Did you grow up watching or reading detective whodunits?
LIU: I remember more of the old school Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys sort of thing. I also grew up with the Scooby-Doo mysteries. Remember when the villain would go, “I would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for you rascal-y kids!” Those were the kind of the things I immersed myself in. I have to say that my mother has always been a huge fan of Columbo and Murder, She Wrote, so this show was her dream come true. I don’t think she totally understood what was going on with Ally McBeal. [laughs]
IVIE: I’ve enjoyed witnessing Joan’s evolution throughout the course of the show, starting off as a sober companion and eventually ending up as a trusty sidekick and confidant to Sherlock. What can we expect from Joan in Season Three?
LIU: When you see them in the third season, you see some friction between the two characters. Joan is now on her own, she has her own detective agency, has a boyfriend, and has been without Sherlock for eight months. She’s got her own apartment, she’s settled, and he shows back up. I think she’s a little bit hurt by what happened and how their relationship and partnership ended, which was basically his decision and his choice, and he left it all in one little note for her. I think she felt that their relationship was much deeper than that, and that he was dismissive in the way that he handled that.
IVIE: How would you define the relationship between Joan and Sherlock?
LIU: I think that it’s a really positive and good relationship, overall. They really have a good chemistry together, work really hard together, and understand each other. They acknowledge each other and respect each other, which is a really important way to have a friendship. And they can learn from each other, you know? She’s very curious about him and I think he sees that she’s a very smart person—that’s vital for him in having respect for someone, having them be intelligent and thinking for themselves.
IVIE: Do you see any of Joan in yourself?
LIU: I do to a certain degree. She’s a lot more measured and patient, for sure. She’s a very curious person, which I think I am, and I think she isn’t afraid of change. She was a doctor, and then became a sober companion, and then jumped off and became a detective. I think sometimes it’s good to make big leaps.
IVIE: You’ve probably been asked this question many times, but do you think a romance between Joan and Sherlock could ever fittingly happen?
LIU: It’s a question that’s often asked and I think it’s really up to the executives. Rob Doherty, the creator [of Elementary] really feels incredibly strongly about keeping their relationship platonic. He has already taken great strides to keep the relationship as clean as possible according to the literature, but he has also changed so much of it by changing the gender of Watson. To have them have a romantic involvement would turn the whole thing upside-down in a way that might really jump the line. [Doherty] felt really strongly about it and I think that’s the one thing he really wants to stay true to.
IVIE: I totally agree. Even on the BBC’s Sherlock, there are campaigns to get Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock and Martin Freeman’s Watson to become romantically involved. It’s like, enough already, no!
LIU: No way, that’s so weird! People do have that level of friendship oftentimes, but it doesn’t mean it’s physical. I think that everyone just assumes because there’s chemistry the next thing should be happening. I would vote “no” for a romance. I think for sure the creator would vote no on that, too.
IVIE: I’ve talked to both women and men who watch Elementary, and they all consistently mention how well dressed and fashionable Joan is. Do you collaborate with the wardrobe department on styling decisions at all?
LIU: That’s awesome. Yes, I collaborate with Rebecca [Hofherr], who’s the costume designer, who’s wonderful. She’s very easy to work with. One thing we try to maintain about Joan and her style is that she’s a bit wrinkled, you know what I mean? Sometimes it looks like things are really put together, but we always want to make sure things aren’t too tight and are comfortable, kind of like she throws things together. We don’t want it to seem so business-y, so we go away from suits. Chic, but not corporate. Also just to make her seem like her outfits aren’t so put-together all the time. But I’m glad that people really seem to like it, it’s a relief! We don’t splurge a lot on the show, we try to do cheaper things, like things Joan would wear a lot. She wears the same white jacket and shoes frequently.
IVIE: Will we be seeing more of the infamous Clyde the Turtle in the upcoming season?
LIU: Clyde will indeed be in it again. We have to share custody of Clyde.
IVIE: Is it true that Clyde is actually two tortoises? Pulling a Mary Kate and Ashley in Full House on us?
LIU: Yes. It’s just like having twins on a show. Just in case one is crying and screaming and passed out or something.
IVIE: You made your directorial debut for an episode of Elementary last season [“Paint It Black”]. Do you have plans to direct an episode again soon?
LIU: That was so exciting. I’ll be directing another episode again very shortly in December, so you’ll be seeing it in a month and a half.
IVIE: Where did your interest in directing come from?
LIU: I guess I was curious about it. Having been in this business for a while, you kind of see and get a glimpse of everything doing film and television. I think it seemed like a natural progression to go into directing, and I hope to explore more of it, because it’s very exciting and a really good way to collide all the things that you’ve known and experienced in the business and put them all into one.
IVIE: Is there an ideal guest star that you’d like to see on the show in the upcoming season?
LIU: I would love to see Mycroft come back. I really think there was a wonderful tension for Mycroft and Sherlock as well as the triangle that occurred when Joan became involved with him. There’s something very deep about that relationship, and I also think that Rhys Ifans is a fantastic actor. He commands the screen, but off-screen he’s incredibly lovely. A real treat to have on the show.
IVIE: I remember the first few episodes that I saw Rhys in, I was like, where have I seen this guy before? So I looked at his Wikipedia page and it became obvious: he was the crazy guy from Notting Hill!
LIU: Yes, the roommate! So good! Everything he does, he just kills it, no matter the role.
IVIE: And it’s always good to have some MI6 action on the show, which Mycroft provided. Some international flair.
LIU: [laughs] International flair, exactly, some added spice. Just throw some spy stuff in there to throw people off their game. You just don’t expect it, you know? It came out of nowhere.
IVIE: That whole three-episode arc at the end of the second season…
LIU: That was awesome. I was lucky enough to direct one of those episodes, which is more narrative in tone. It’s more fun in some ways, too.
IVIE: You’ve done a range of acting work for both television and film. Do you now find yourself preferring one to the other?
LIU: I love both of them equally. The lack of predictability with television is something that’s constantly changing what your perception of who you think your character is. Suddenly I have a father that’s schizophrenic, or I discovered something else, or I have a relationship with Mycroft. The things that pop up and change the game for you and always keep you on your toes. The wonderful thing about film is that you have something that has a beginning, middle, and end, and you have a concrete amount of time to shoot it. And the process of that can be longer, like editing and advertising and testing the movie, so it’s very different. Television you just continue going, no matter what’s happening outside of your world. You get lost in that vortex a little bit.
IVIE: It’s interesting that America is now embracing the “mini-series” format that has already been so heavily utilized overseas, where there are a set amount of short episodes, and that’s it. In a way, it’s kind of like a cinematic experience.
LIU: I like that, too. It allows you to have a freedom of creativity and at the same time you don’t feel like you have to be contracted to something for that long; you’re really working on a piece of art. And then you’re done and you move on, or it comes back, like Downton Abbey. You don’t know. Those things become little masterpieces. The thing about television is that you see a range of actors now that you may not have seen five years ago even, 10 years ago absolutely not, and I think now there’s no wrong about doing television. There’s no definitive category for what kind of department you fall into anymore.
IVIE: What’s a fun, secret fact about your costar Jonny Lee Miller?
LIU: A fun fact about Jonny Lee Miller is that he oftentimes does handstands on a wall before he does a take, sometimes with pushups, to get blood to his brain and get him geared up for a long monologue that he may have. He stays there, hangs a little bit, and then turns around and does the scene. Most of the time in the brownstone more than anywhere else. He’s in full costume and everything. That’s trivia!
IVIE: I wish I could do wall-handstands by myself.
LIU: Oh my god, I need someone to push my legs up and then hold me there. I’m a cheat!

If you still take prompt how about a fluff Maribat "meet the family" with Marinette being adopted by the riddler(reason of the adoption is up to you) who was traveling in Paris and who see Scarecrow and Mad Hatter(batman animated serie version) as her uncles? She come to live with her new dad and uncles at Gotham, meet damian, begin date him and months later the Waynes meet her and her "family" which lead to a very funny akward moment.
Masterlist
An Awkward Reveal
“Excuse me?”
Edward glanced down at the sound of the voice, and found himself staring at a girl no taller than his knees.
Her dark hair was pulled into pigtails by baby blue ribbons, that matched the colour of the bow settled atop her head. She was looking up at him with scared eyes.
The man couldn’t help his heart melting at the sight, as he asked, “Yes?”
“I’m, I’m lost,” she revealed in a shaky tone, whilst scanning about with hunched shoulders.
Nygma’s brows furrowed at the information. He chanced a quick gaze around, causing him to spot the darkening sky above.
The male slowly knelt down to her height, watching as she slightly flinched at the action. However, the girl still kept her head held high.
“What’s your name?” Edward questioned.
“M…Marinette,” she answered in a shy manner. Her foot dug into the ground beneath.
“Well, my name is Edward,” he spoke. “Where are your parents?”
At the question, she visibly froze up, and glanced to the side. Tears welled up in her eyes.
“They, they’re gone. My uncles look after me now.”
Nygma softened at the confession, and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “What do you say we go find them then, huh?”
Marinette met his gaze, and a small smile tugged at her lips. She nodded, and took the hand he held out.
~*~*~
“Damian?” Marinette gasped aloud, taking in the sight of him standing at her balcony.
She rushed to open the doors seperating them, and settled herself in his arms. He hugged back, and leaned his head on hers.
“What are you doing here?” the designer quizzed, stepping back after a few moments.
“You said that you had nothing to do earlier today, am I right?”
“Well, yes, but…”
Damian embraced her again. “And my brothers were starting to get annoying.”
Marinette giggled, and commented, “I don’t think they’re that bad.”
“You’ll think different when they actually find out we’re dating,” he grumbled. “The imbiciles think I’m incapable of acquiring a partner.”
The couple strolled to the bed inside the room, and lay down on its duvet. The Wayne curled around his girlfriend.
“Oh, that reminds me,” she realised. “My uncles and dad are going to check on me soon. We have to make sure they don’t catch us.”
Damian grinned playfully, his eyes solely focused on the woman cuddled close. “I’m sure we won’t be caught, Angel.”
“Let’s hope so.”
There was more silence for a while, consisting of just their even breathing and occasional shuffling on the blanket.
“You know, Angel…” the boy broke the quiet with. “I don’t see myself spending the rest of my life with anyone else.”
Marinette beamed - pink dusting her cheeks - against his chest. “Me neither,” she breathed in admittance after a second.
Their heads both tilted in each other’s direction, and their eyes met in sync.
They moved closer.
Until there was a cough from behind.
The teens jumped in surprise, and shot up on the bed. There, at the entrance of the bedroom, three men stood. Those known as the Riddler, Scarecrow and Mad Hatter.
“Mari-Honey? What happens to be going on here?”
Marinette blushed a bright red, as she responded, “N-Nothing!”
Edward tilted his head.
“It doesn’t take a genius to know you’re lying, Sweetie,” he revealed.
“And is that the Wayne brat?” Crane quizzed, stalking closer. “What do you think you’re doing here?”
“Don’t!” the youngest there defended. “Please, don’t hurt him. He hasn’t done anything bad.”
The Mad Hatter smirked from the door of the bedroom. “So, am I right in saying that our Little Alice has herself a boyfriend?”
“Yes, you are.”
Everyone turned to Damian.
“And I already knew that you were her uncles, though that doesn’t change the fact that I still love her.”
There was a faint crash from above the balcony, yet no one paid it any mind. The adults were all to busy studying Damian for any falsehoods or lies in his claim.
“My, my,” Jonathon pondered, finally breaking them out of their dazes. “Maybe you are worthy of our niece after all.”
Nygma snorted. “Just wait ‘till Oswald hears about this.”
~*~*~
“Are you sure about this, Dami?” Marinette asked cautiously, facing the front door of the Manor.
“It will be fine,” he assured. “My family agreed to put aside who your carers were and instead form a judgment from you by yourself.”
The girl let out a sigh. “Oh, what a relief,” she breathed. “If that weren’t happening they’d probably think of me as some criminal.”
Damian smiled, and planted a kiss to her cheek. “I wouldn’t let that happen, Angel.”
The couple blushed, and stared into each other’s eyes for a while.
“I think it would be best to go inside now, Master Damian. We wouldn’t want to keep your family waiting.”
“R-Right.”
He squeezed Marinette’s hand tight, before opening the front door.
“D-Dad?” the female stuttered aloud.
In front of the duo sat the Riddler on his knees, with ropes wrapped around his arms. Behind, Jason was gripping them, keeping him immobile.
Damian smacked a palm against his face. “What are you doing here?”
Edward pouted. “I wanted to check that my daughter was being treated right, I’ll have you know! You can’t blame me for being worried.”
There was no noise for a while.
“I need more coffee to deal with this…” someone suddenly grumbled nearby.

Review: Mainden Holmes
Tumblr media
Crossdressing dramas are usually not my cup of tea with the exception of My Unicorn Girl and this drama. I’m definitely happy that I have finally watched it with full subs, cause this is definitely a must watch if you are looking into a lighthearted investigative costume Chinese dramas.
STORY
So the drama follows the story of Prince Qi as he uncovers the conspiracy against him to the cause of the death of his men and the young cross-dressing female officer from Mingjing Office, Su Ci as she solves the case of her past.
Tumblr media
The drama starts off with Su Ci as she solves the case about a mask wearing criminal she called Thousand Face who disguises himself as a woman in a brothel where she meets womanizer and quite drunk Pei Zhao playing around with women, with Pei Zhao’s help Su Ci manages to capture the criminal but has no intention on thanking our dandy Pei Zhao. The encounter definitely left a mark.
Tumblr media
The two didn’t really start off that good nor bad, it was just Su Ci started off aloof and unfriendly while Pei Zhao was intrigued with her investigative and deductive reasoning skills. The duo then meets again as Pei Zhao who turns out to be the famous Prince Qi investigates the missing disaster fund and Su Ci was assigned to the very same case. The duo along with his loyal aid Fei Yuan investigate the case and faithfully meet Xie Bei Ming, the young master of Feiyuan Manor and the wandering poison master Dong Ru Shuang.
Tumblr media
The quintet forms a really good friendship as they uncover conspiracies after conspiracies leading up to Su Ci’s past, the massacre of Bai Liang Clan, fall of Prince Qi’s military power and the Battle of Honggu that killed a lot of Prince Qi’s closest and most trusted men.
Tumblr media
Although the drama didn’t escape from your typical cliches for the crossdressing genre but the execution is good without it being cringey. Su Ci’s backstory was both painful and heartbreaking and you would definitely understand why she had to hide her identity.
Tumblr media
I love that each member of the quintet has their own role and expertise, Su Ci is really observant, with her remarkable investigative instincts and her amazing eyesight, Pei Zhao with his experience in the military and growing up in the palace is a great strategist, Bei Ming despite being naive and a bit foolish is the brute force, Ru Shuang with her knowledge in medicine and poisons is a good doctor and poison master and last but not the least Fei Yuan, the most normal out of them all, is like their caretaker, he makes sure they are eating well, dressing well and living well.
Tumblr media
I have to mention the little scenes that they include at the very end of each episode, the cut and undubbed scenes that really ties up some of the questions that you have after the episode.
Tumblr media
I love that the drama wasn’t too heavy or intense instead it leans more in a lighthearted romance but without it being cringey or annoyingly repetitive.
CHARACTERS
Tumblr media
Su Ci is a famous young detective from the Mingjing Office, dubbed as a great detective who can communicate with supernatural beings with her eyes, although she can’t communicate with the dead but she does have an extremely good eyesight, making her see what normal people usually don't notice. Along with her sherlock-holmes eyes is also her investigative skills. She is also a great observer.
Su Ci grew up always looking over her shoulders so she is always wary of people so it was understandable that she wasn’t very fond of the “dandy” Pei Zhao when they first met. With her kind of baggage, I understand why she was reluctant to let people in her life.
Tumblr media
Xiao Yan Zhi or better known by the people as Prince Qi is a decorated military official who had protected the kingdom ever since he was a teen boy. He had led armies and fought in wars but he never expected to be betrayed in his own home. Prince Qi had never coveted the crown and was very much content with his life with his men in the military. When he was stripped of his military power, he “stayed” out of the palace business and disguised as Pei Zhao, a rich guy who used to serve with Prince Qi.
He is a good strategist and a very loyal man. Even though he was undermined by specific people in the palace, he never really loses his cool and instead calmly takes a step back knowing that he will eventually get back to where he belongs. Although it was kind of annoying that it took him a while to actually realize who the person who wants him gone. I love that for a military commander and a prince he is not your typical, arrogant and entitled prince but he is kind and considerate.
Tumblr media
Xie Bei Ming is the only son of the owner of Feiyuan Manor. He was raised with an abundance of money but he is not conceited or money grabbing leach. He is actually really kind and naive who just wants to have an adventure outside the reach of his father's influence. He really loves his dad and often writes letters to him, detailing word for word his journey and how happy he is. It's sad that because he is so kind and naive, people take advantage of his kindness and loyalty. He fell in love with our boyish and smart Dong Ru Shuang after he saved her.
Tumblr media
Dong Ru Shuang is the resident doctor and poison master. She really knows her way with medicine and is a big help to our group in every case that he handled. She fell in love with Su Ci at first which was quite cute and funny and I love that she didn’t really hold that deep of a grudge (like what happened on UTP, lol). Ru Shuang at first was quite naive in Bei Ming’s feelings since she was too busy chasing after Su Ci but when she finally realised that she did have something for him, I love that they were really good together
Tumblr media
Fei Yuan is the extremely loyal aid of Prince Qi. He will do anything for his prince. He is also a masterchef in the kitchen and a really good overall caretaker of the group. There was a time that he didn’t really like Su Ci cause he was looking after his master and at that time Prince Qi was too busy chasing after Su Ci than taking care of his own health.
Characters to mention:
Tumblr media
Emperor is Prince Qi’s younger brother who become the Emperor after their father was assassinated. I like that even though he was the emperor, a man (or rather a boy) in power, he doesn’t envy his brother or has any ill feelings towards his older brother, instead he is actually very compliant to his brother and tries to look after him if he can. But one thing that I was annoyed with is that he often becomes a puppet to other people.
Tumblr media
Commander Fu is Prince Qi’s good friend. He was supposed to get married but the night before their wedding, his bride was found dead on an apparent suicide. He has a really sad love triangle with his own brother and his betrothed.
Tumblr media
Prince Yun is the former emperor's brother and uncle to Prince Qi and the current Emperor. He is quite an arrogant man who really sees himself as someone who can manipulate the boy emperor which he did often. But even though I just hate him there was a glimmer of hope for his character on the last episode when he stood beside his son. Even though he was a horrible man and have used his son’s trust for his gain, he is still a father and loves his son.
CAST
This was the drama that I was supposed to watch before My Unicorn girl but at that time, this was still on going and subs were taking forever. I really like Sebrina Chen. She reminds me of another actress but I prefer and really love Sebrina’s acting.
Tumblr media
I love the chemistry between Sebrina and Zhang Ling He, they look really cute together. I was quite shocked when I saw his profile on MDL and that this was his first drama and at the same time first main role. This is a really good start of his career and will definitely look forward to his future projects.
FINAL THOUGHTS RATING: 8.8/10
The storyline leans a bit more in the lighthearted side with really cute and good romance. I love that they didn’t stretch out the story too much, it had a good pacing, good actors and a really nice set up. Cinematography is good as well. I love most of Su Ci’s outfits.
I love the chemistry between the two leads they really pulled off a really good couple and that they didn’t look awkward. And the fact that this is Zhang Ling He’s first drama, he portrayed Prince Qi really well.
Would I recommend this drama? Heck Yes! This is a good crossdressing historical drama that will definitely keep you glued on the screen with its good looking cast, good cinematography and a well paced storyline.
Tumblr media
If I have not yet convinced you, Soompi might just change your mind with 4 reasons why you should give this a try.

Tumblr media
━━━•✦.✧. Author’s Note.✧.✦•━
Chapter 2 is O U T!
GOSH THE AMOUNT OF RESEARCH I DID JUST TO MAKE THIS CHAPTER.
Besides the point, I had a lot of fun doing the research. (Where was this version of me in high school-)
I hope you guys enjoy it! This chapter is a bit longer than I anticipated. It was a mix of research, personal experiences, and listening to the same song for hours-
You can find the playlist and the taglist form link in my bio! (Or you can just comment, send an ask, or PM- whichever feels comfortable)
━━━━━•✦.✧. Summary .✧.✦•━
After Hogwarts, (Y/N) and Victoria become the MOM’s Investigation Department’s secret weapon. While celebrating the completion of a recent case, she meets someone new. Who knew that this someone is related to her first love?
━━━━━•✦.✧. Add-Ons .✧.✦•━
A little back story of what happened during their last year at Hogwarts
Theseus~! ( Gosh, I hope I didn’t write him too out of character. Then again, in this chapter, he’s fresh out of WWI )
Victoria and (Y/N)’s friendship is solely based on the friendship I have with my fellow RavenPuff best friend. ( If she ever finds this fic, though I doubt it, I love you~! )
Fluff! (Hopefully)
Theseus and Reader being oblivious to these coincidences.
CLICHE ROMANCE STUFF. I’M A HOPELESS ROMANTIC, OKAY???
Hilarity ensues
Blood, but it’s a short scene
Slight angst at the end
━━━━━━•✦.✧.☾.✧.✦•━━━━━
Before Newt left, he promised to owl them. He was set on working for the Ministry to work with magical creatures in some way. Though his letters always came at odd hours- stupid time zones.
The day after Newt's expulsion, (Y/N) and Victoria had cut ties with Leta. They couldn’t trust her after what had happened. Despite all that, (Y/N) wished Leta the best in life.
For once the roles reversed, Victoria wanted to hex the hell out of Leta, but (Y/N) talked her out of it. Told her that it wasn’t worth it. Instead of spending all that energy on hating someone, it was better to wish them the best and let them go.
Sixth year had come to an end. On the day everyone was set to go back home for the summer holiday, Headmaster Dippet had summoned Victoria to his office.
“Headmaster Dippet,” She said as she stepped into his office. “What can I do for you?”
“You can take this, Miss Howard.” He replied, his hand gesturing to a small, yet elegant metal box that sat near her side of the desk.
Puzzled, Victoria walked closer. She hesitantly grabbed the box and opened it. On the small cushion, laid a navy blue pin, with the words HEAD GIRL in bronze.
“T-This is an honor, sir.” She stumbled, picking it up. It was funny how valuable a small badge would be. How much weight and responsibility it held while being almost as light as a feather.
“I want you to wear it on the first day back.” He gave a small smile.
“I understand, Professor. I can’t thank you enough-“
“Hush child. Come next year, you’ll curse me out for giving you the responsibilities.”
In their final year at Hogwarts, they made it their best year yet. They went to all the Quidditch games and Hogsmeade trips. They studied their hardest and gave it their all. When they graduated, they both got “Exceeds Expectations” and “Outstanding” in all the subjects needed to apply for the Auror Training Program. These subjects were Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Herbology, and Charms.
~*~*~
Auror training required strenuous work to complete, but nothing they couldn’t handle. It was mandatory to undergo a rigorous series of character and aptitude tests. These tests showcased how well they reacted under pressure. They trained extensively in advanced magical combat, other elements of practical defense, and methods of criminal investigation.
Other training courses were Concealment and Disguise, Stealth and Tracking, Battle Instinct, Best-Laid Plans, Duelling in the Dark, Field Training, History of the Dark Arts, Method in the Mad-Eye, Resilience Training, and The Auror Advantage; while poisons and antidotes were also essential studies. Their training lasted for three years and was difficult work.
(Y/N) excelled in courses like Battle Instinct and Dueling in the Dark. Victoria showed her prowess in courses like Stealth and Tracking and Best-Laid Plans. Their personalities complimented each other. Apart, they had their successes, but together? They were a force not to be reckoned with. You’ve heard of power couples, but they were a powerful dynamic duo.
The Ministry of Magic in the Investigation Department is where they started. They were the department’s secret weapon. The only people who knew of them were those also in the Investigation Department. If they left the department due to any reason, they would be obliviated of their memory of (Y/N) and Victoria.
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
Another report was finalized and another dark wizard in Azkaban. In celebration, Victoria had convinced (Y/N) to go out to a pub with her. Coincidentally, the muggle world was celebrating a victory of their own.
At the pub, (Y/N) and Victoria was sitting at the bar, both on their second glass of Sidecar cocktail. Their work clothes were more wrinkled than usual as they relaxed on the stools.
The place was hot (despite it being winter), loud, and reeked of perfume and alcohol. People were celebrating the victory of “The War to End All Wars”. Men in uniforms were all around. Some were at home with loved ones. Others were kissing random strangers at the pub or hanging around with their mates. Then there were a couple of groups raising a glass to their fallen comrades.
“I’m headed to the restroom. You coming?” Victoria asked after finishing her glass.
(Y/N) swished her drink in her glass. “I’m good. I’ll wait here for you.”
Victoria nodded, “Alright, dear. Remember no boys, and if one won’t leave you alone- hex him or punch him.”
(Y/N) gave her a look.
Victoria laughed. “Be alert.” She said before leaving.
She nodded, “I will, Vi. I always am.” (Y/N) let out a sigh as she watched Victoria walk towards the restroom.
Her train of thought started with work but soon drifted to Newt. Over the years, she and Newt continued to stay in touch. Since she graduated, Newt had served on the Eastern Front- not in the war, no. He was there to wrangle some Ukrainian Ironbellys. That year, Augustus Worme commissioned him to write a book about magical creatures.
“Of course he took the job. It’s the perfect job for him…” She mumbled before taking another sip.
If there was anything (Y/N) wanted to do right now, it would be to go home. Being at a pub wasn’t her thing- neither was it Victoria’s, but she let it slide this time. ‘To whatever God or higher celestial being up there, please keep Newt safe.’ She thought, staring at the remaining liquid.
“Hey, what’s a pretty little lady like you doing in a place like this all by herself?” A male voice cooed as he sat on the barstool to her left.
Snapping out of her thoughts, (Y/N) turned to face a man in uniform. He had short blonde hair (but if it were any longer, it would break regulation) and light brown eyes. Attractive? Yes. Her type? Definitely not.
“I’m not here by myself,” (Y/N) eyed the single chevron patch sewn on the upper half of his uniform’s sleeve. “-Private.” She said before meeting his gaze. “I’m here with a friend.”
“Private Keaton Williams.” He said as he took one of her hands in his, bringing it up to kiss her knuckles.
‘Merlin’s beard. Where’s Victoria?’ She thought as she saw the satisfaction on his face. (Y/N) slowly retracted her hand, holding it close to her chest.
“Thank you, Private- er, Williams. But I should be looking for my friend.” She said, getting ready to stand.
He held onto her wrist, preventing her from leaving. “Come on. We both know it’s a lie. You’re not really here with anyone.” Keaton teased.
She tried to think of a way to turn him down. She couldn’t hex him- he was a muggle. There were rules about using magic in the presence of muggles! And she couldn’t punch him. How could she punch a man who had fought for the country she called home?
“She’s with me.” said another male’s voice. This time, it came from behind her.
Keaton looked past (Y/N) to see another man in uniform. “Oh wow. I’m another bloke in a uniform. What makes you so special?” He mocked.
“I don’t condone men flaunting their uniform as a way to catch a woman’s heart.” The one behind her replied. “I’ve dealt with idiots like him. Play along.” He whispered in her ear. (Y/N) nodded, before taking back her wrist.
“I know how to get what I want 's all,” Keaton boasted, then turned his attention back to (Y/N). “Let’s go, love. Let this soldier show you a good time.”
(Y/N) turned to get a look at her savior. Oh great. Yet she stared for a second longer- he looked so familiar.
Shaking her head from her thoughts, she leaned into his chest. “I’m sorry, Private Williams. You had no chance from the start. This soldier had already caught my attention.”
The man looked shocked for a split second before playing along with her little skit. “Ah yes. I’m glad I was able to return home to the love of my life all in one piece.” He said before wrapping an arm around (Y/N)’s shoulder.
She blushed. ‘Love of his life? No- stop it. It’s a ruse.’
Keaton looked at the other, eyeing his rank. “What’s a Sergeant got that I don’t?”
The man shifted, a crimson ribbon pinned to the pocket flap of his left breast pocket revealing itself. “I have the right mind to back off when a woman says no.”
Keaton looked again, seeing the ribbon, and gasped. The Victoria Cross Award. “Y-You’re him. T-That Theseus guy… The War Hero.”
Theseus. The name of her saviour was revealed!
Theseus rolled his eyes. “It’s Sergeant to you. Now scram before I report you to your commanding officer.”
“Y-Yes Sergeant,” Keaton said before walking away from the pair.
(Y/N) let out a sigh of relief as she relaxed her shoulders. “Thank you… Theseus, was it?”
Theseus hummed in agreement, removing his arm from her shoulder. “It’s no problem…” He trailed off, running his hand through his hair.
She turned in her chair to face him. His hair now slightly messed up due to his recent action. His uniform suited him- good and squared away. But his face. It was so damn familiar. It was as if she’d seen those blue eyes somewhere before.
“Uh… Like what you see?” Theseus joked.
(Y/N) blushed. “I-I didn’t mean to stare…” A small pause before sticking her hand out, “I’m (Y/N).”
Theseus gently took her hand, bringing it to his lips, and placed a gentle kiss on her knuckles. “Theseus. Charmed to meet you.”
‘Did… Did he just…?’ (Y/N) giggled, taking her hand back and interlocking her fingers together. “So what’s a wizard like you serving in the military?”
He sighed, sitting on the seat that was once Victoria’s, “The military part was a cover-up to get me on the front lines. Even if the muggles were at war, that didn’t mean dark wizards would stop their heinous crimes. I was working double time. A field agent for the Ministry and a Sergeant for the British Armed Forces.”
(Y/N) nodded. “Thank you for your service… For our world and theirs.” She smiled at him.
The silence was deafening between them, but it wasn’t awkward in any way. It was more comforting.
(Y/N) brought herself to look at his eyes again, her pupils dilating. His eyes made her heart swell with love- the type of love she reserved only for Newt. Though, she couldn’t help but spill a little bit of that to Theseus. Love at first sight?
Theseus returned the smile. How could someone, let alone a stranger he met, be this beautiful? His mind drifted to a small montage of made-up scenarios. He could see a growing relationship with her- a family even. Would his mother approve? Would Newt approve? She’d make a great addition to the Scamander family.
“Sorry I took too long. Ready to- Merlin, (Y/N)! I leave for five minutes!” Victoria’s voice yelled from behind Theseus.
“Sorry about that.” (Y/N) mumbled.
He turned in his seat to face Victoria. “I-I’m sure you’d like an explanation, but first, hello.” He stuttered.
(Y/N) emerged from behind him, walking over to her friend. “Vi! This is Theseus. Theseus this is my best friend, Victoria.”
‘He looks so familiar. I’ve seen his face somewhere before.’ Victoria thought.
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
On Theseus and (Y/N)’s first date, they went to a coffee shop.
“So you’re part of the law enforcement? Are you sure you retired from your military work?” She joked.
Theseus chuckled softly before sipping on his tea- he was never a coffee person. “First, yes. I’m retired. And yes, I work within law enforcement. I’m what you call “well respected”. And what about you, love?”
She blushed. “I work in the field then do some paperwork. That’s all. Nothing that special.”
“Hm…” He thought for a moment before an idea popped into his head. “Ever thought about working for the Ministry? They could use a couple of recruits in the Auror Department. I’m sure Victoria would join as well. Training is only about three years and with your skills, I’m sure you two would be a great Aurors.”
(Y/N) smiled before sipping on her cup of coffee. ‘Only if you knew…’
~*~*~
For their next date, they went out for a walk in the park. It was cold out, so they wore their long coats and their house scarves.
“No way! You were a Hufflepuff? I thought you were a Gryffindor!” (Y/N) exclaimed as he neared their meeting spot.
Theseus smiled, “Well, hello to you too.” He then stood in front of her, ruffling her hair. “Well then, Little Miss Ravenclaw, aren’t you full of surprises?” He teased.
She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “What house did you think I was in…?”
He gestured to his Hufflepuff scarf.
“If the Sorting Hat sorted me again, I’m pretty sure I’d be in Hufflepuff. If Victoria got sorted again… She’d definitely be a Slytherin.”
“Then again, you’re the feistiest Ravenclaw I’ve ever met.” Theseus teased, poking her cheek softly.
(Y/N) swatted his hand away from her face, “W-Well you’re the cockiest Hufflepuff I’ve ever met.
~*~*~
The third time they went out, they went to a fancy restaurant.
“Theseus… Where are we going?” She asked as they walked hand in hand.
“Somewhere special. I’ve been dying to take you out here for months.”
“Oh?” She asked. “What did I do to deserve this?”
He smiled as they turned the corner. “Ah, here we are!”
(Y/N) looked at the building and gasped. “Theseus… The Ritz?! This must've cost you a fortune!”
He kissed her cheek, “Anything for you.”
~*~*~
Then came their fourth date. Theseus had decided on that night, he’d make their relationship official. He would’ve done it sooner, but he’d only met her a year ago. He wanted time to get to know her and make sure it wasn’t an impulse decision. To his surprise, she agreed. So after a year-long wait, he took his chance. Nothing to lose… right?
After dinner, they decided to take a walk in the park. A last-minute plan she was not dressed for.
“You know, despite its kleptomania for shiny things, I always wanted a Niffler. They’re such interesting creatures.” She admitted.
Theseus chuckled- a sound that was now music to (Y/N)’s ears. “You sound like my brother. He’s into all that care of magical creatures stuff. Me? Not so much.”
She hummed, “I’d like to meet your brother sometime…”
“I’ll set up a date for all us to have tea when he comes back from his travels.”
“C-Can’t wait!” She stuttered as she rubbed her upper arms for warmth.
He noticed this and nonchalantly removed his coat. He draped it over her shoulders, “Sorry. It’s my fault you’re cold.”
She held the lapels of his coat, “But now you’ll get cold!”
“It looks better on you than it did me.” He gave her a playful wink.
(Y/N) gasped as she remembered a moment like that. All those years ago at Hogwarts- with Newt. Though she dismissed the thoughts of her first love. Newt wasn’t there with her. Theseus was. Newt hadn’t taken her out on those wonderful dates. Theseus had. Newt didn’t love her. Theseus did- or so she hoped.
Theseus had stopped them in front of a water fountain. The sound of trickling water and the echoes of the city filled the silence. He shoved his hands into his pockets. Were his hands always this sweaty? He took a deep breath and exhaled. It was now or never.
“Theseus, darling, A-Are you alright?” She asked, one of her hands cupping his cheek.
He hummed and leaned into her touch. Despite the cold, her hand was radiating so much warmth. He looked at her lovingly, “Yes, dear. Everything is fine.”
“(Y/N)… During my Hogwarts years, I never gave dating a second thought. And after I graduated, I immediately started working for the Ministry. Then I got sent to war. Merlin- I never want to step foot in a muggle war ever again.” He paused to make sure she was paying attention.
Her hand returned to the warmth of his coat. She nodded, giving him the okay to continue.
“And when I returned home, I was so set on returning to my duties at the Ministry. Then I met you. You wonderful, beautiful, intelligent woman. I couldn’t believe that I caught your attention. I know I’m rambling and your feet must be in pain for standing for so long, so let me ask you this.” He paused for a second. “Will you allow me to date you properly? To make this- us, official?”
(Y/N) smiled. “Theseus… I never thought you’d ask. I’d love to be your girlfriend.”
Full of joy, Theseus wrapped his arms around her and spun around. Their laughs mixed, composing a duet that harmonized with each other perfectly.
When he set her down, she sighed in content. “Oh, Theseus…”
He cupped her face, his thumb caressing her cheek. “Can… Can I kiss you?”
She nodded. “Yes-”
He cut her response short, closing the gap between their lips.
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
The New Year’s season came to pass and it was the start of the 1920s. Victoria and (Y/N) transferred to the Aurors Department. Effective immediately. They loved the Investigation Department and everyone there. Must've been something serious if their transfer was immediate.
Little did they know, Theseus was the Head of the Auror department.
On the way to the meeting room, (Y/N) was ranting about the sudden change. Victoria was saying her thoughts about the matter but listened to her friend’s distress. They walked past an office and Victoria caught the nameplate on the door that read “Theseus Scamander”
Scamander? Oh-
Before Victoria could ask questions, they had gotten to the meeting room. There were other Aurors in the department. Everyone there knew each other, so Victoria and (Y/N) were the “newbies”.
Victoria turned to (Y/N), “Hey… You know that boyfriend of yours, did you by any chance get his last name?” She whispered.
(Y/N) shrugged, “No. I didn’t think it mattered.”
“Well, let me tell you-”
The Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Torquil Travers, entered the room from the back entrance. “Fellow Aurors! As you all know, Grindelwald is gathering up recruits for his “For the Greater Good” revolution. All of you are here today to form up a special task force in bringing him and his organization down. Leading you in this endeavor is the new Head of Auror Office and retired War Hero, Theseus Scamander.”
A round of applause erupted, welcoming the new Head of Auror Office.
Turning towards Travers, Victoria clapped along. “I’m sure it’s not your Theseus-”
“Oh shit.” (Y/N) cursed as she saw her beloved walk through the doors.
Theseus nodded as he walked towards his new task force.
Travers patted his back, “You’ll need to choose an assistant and a communications liaison, but take your time.”
Theseus scanned the room. He knew all of the people, some he trusted, and some he didn’t. Then he saw a pair he knew all too well- but he only saw them outside of work- (Y/N) and Victoria.
(Y/N) gave a shy smile, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
Victoria smirked, “You’re screwed.”
As the applause died down, Theseus announced, “I’ve already chosen the people for the positions. For my assistant, I’ll be having Miss (Y/N) (L/N).”
She blushed as she felt everyone’s eyes on her. Though slightly confused, the other Aurors in the room applauded.
Victoria leaned down again, “Try not to make too much noise in his office, eh?”
(Y/N) opened her mouth to gasp, but nothing came out. “I would never!”
“And my Communications Liaison will be Miss Victoria Howard.”
(Y/N) nudged her friend, “You’re stuck with us now.”
Victoria laughed nervously, waving at everyone. “Brilliant…”
~*~*~
The three of them were in Theseus’ office. (Y/N) was pacing back and forth as Theseus was sitting at his desk and Victoria leaning against the bookshelf.
“Why me? Why another Scamander?” She groaned in agony. “How did I not know!” She muttered.
“Love, what’s the problem?” Theseus asked, slightly worried.
“You wouldn’t by any chance have a brother would you?” Victoria asked, looking at him.
“Yeah.” He replied, his attention still towards (Y/N), who was still pacing back and forth.
“About this tall?” She said, extending her arm to its highest point.
“Around there.”
“Loves magical creatures?” She asked, now crossing her arms over her chest.
“More than life itself.”
“Got expelled from Hogwarts in his sixth year?”
“Yes. Wait, how did you-”
“I figured.” She gave a curt nod before looking at her distressed friend. “Honey, you need to calm down.”
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks and faced Victoria. Her eyes were on the verge of tears.
Victoria's expression softened as she shoved aside the blunt responses she had prepared in her mind. “Hey… Come here…” She cooed as she walked over to her with arms wide open.
(Y/N) quickly ran into Victoria’s embrace, letting the tears fall. She mumbled something into her shoulder.
“What was that, dear?” She asked softly.
(Y/N) pulled away, “I said, what am I going to tell Newt? I’ve told him that I recently got a boyfriend. How is he going to react when it’s his brother?”
Victoria rolled her eyes. “What’s it to him? He’s your best friend.” She said, emphasizing the fact that Newt was just her friend. “If it’s his brother or not, who you date is not his business.”
Theseus stood from his seat and walked over to the pair. “If it makes you feel better, we can invite him over for tea and tell him.”
(Y/N) moves from Victoria’s arms and walks over to Theseus. “I… I think I’d like that.”
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
Despite Theseus and (Y/N)’s relationship, they never let it get in the way of their work. (Y/N) had the same workload and deadlines as the others in the task force.
Victoria was still expected to represent the Ministry’s Auror department, write news releases, and coordinate the distribution of information along with her fieldwork.
Theseus randomly assigned partners in every stakeout or raid- mostly because he’d feel like he’d protect the hell out of (Y/N) if she was paired up with him all the time. (Y/N) was capable, and he knew that.
Though there are sometimes where one of them got hurt and the other can’t help but care for them.
(Y/N) had made Theseus take off his blazer and rolled up the sleeve of his left arm. Blood dripped from the wound caused by one of Grindelwald’s recruits. She sat on a short stool with a bucket of warm water off to the side, just within arms reach.
Theseus slouched in the chair, flinching at the slightest touches (Y/N) made with the towel. She had wiped off all the dried blood surrounding the wound. Then she started dabbing the towel ever so gently on top of it. The towel was damp and warm, but it didn’t make the pain any softer.
He grimaced as he inhaled sharply, jerking his arm away from her.
“I need to clean your wound, love” (Y/N) said, reaching over to where he moved his arm.
“But (Y/N) it hurts!” He whined.
“You’re being childish.” She replied.
“W-Well you’re not the one on the receiving end!”
“Honey, you were a soldier. I’m sure you’ve dealt with more serious wounds than this…”
“That’s because I didn’t have someone as cute as you cleaning me up.”
“Flattery won’t get your wound cleaned up.”
“Can’t you just use a spell?”
“Unlike most wizards, I like to do some things without the use of magic.”
He huffed childishly, not looking at her.
“If you didn’t move, it wouldn’t hurt as much.”
Theseus grumbled, still moving his arm away.
“Theseus Scamander, hold still or so help me I will hex you!”
“I thought we didn’t allow magic in the bedroom~” He teased.
“Theseus! We’re at work!”
•✦.✧.🔎.✧.✦•
After months of asking and asking, Theseus had finally convinced Newt to come and visit him- to finally meet his girlfriend. (Y/N) had already decided on the tea so they were waiting for Newt to arrive.
As they waited, Theseus was looking over some reports as (Y/N) was leaning on his bookshelf, doing some light reading.
He sighed, setting the papers in his hand back down on his desk. Glancing over to (Y/N), he smiled, ‘She’s beautiful even when she’s reading…’
Theseus looked at her ensemble. A white long-sleeved button-up, a grey vest with a matching blazer, and dress pants. He looked at his suit- the same color scheme. Were they always matching?
He looked at her again and noticed that this time, she wore a tie with her suit, but not just any tie. A yellow and black tie- His Hufflepuff tie. Theseus smiled, “Hey (L/N), nice tie.”
(Y/N) nodded, turning the page of her book. “Yeah? I put it on this morning.” She said nonchalantly.
Theseus stood and made his way over. When he stood in front of her, he took the book from her hands and set it to the side. “Where’d you get it?”
She looked up at him. Was he always this tall? “Hogwarts. From when I went there. Duh.”
“Really? Because I remember you telling me that you were a Ravenclaw,” He said untucking the tie from under her vest. “This is clearly a Hufflepuff tie.” He held up the end of the tie in her line of view.
(Y/N) gasped. “I swear, it was an honest mistake!”
“Hmm…” He trailed off. “I kind of like seeing you in my ties. It’s cute.” He said, leaning in close.
“Thes… We’re at work… A-And your brother could walk in any minute-”
His fingers slid up the material, finally wrapping around the knot. “Yeah… But I haven’t kissed you since we left my flat…” He whispered, tugging softly as if to bring her closer.
She could feel herself leaning in close. Her lip mere millimeters away-
“Here we are! Head of Aurors Office!” Victoria said, opening the door to Theseus’ office. She and Newt walked in.
(Y/N) quickly pushed Theseus away, shoving the tie back under her vest.
“Newt!” (Y/N) exclaimed, shoving herself off the bookshelf.
“Brother!” Theseus said happily as he walked over to Newt.
There, Newt stood in a nice suit, a mustard yellow vest, and a blue overcoat. In his hand was a suitcase. The enchanted suitcase that (Y/N) had read so much about in his letters.
“Wait, when you told me in your letter that you had a boyfriend, you never told me it was my brother,” Newt said, slightly hurt.
“We meant to tell you!” Theseus said defensively.
“When? When I catch you almost snogging each other?” Newt retorted, glaring at his brother
“No! It would be over tea! Which we would be having right now…” She pouted.
“I think… I think I’d like a rain check on that…” He said as he started to back away.
“Newt! Don’t do this!” Victoria pleaded.
He finally turned around and walked to the door. When he got there, he stopped in Victoria’s line of view. Newt didn’t face her. He looked straight ahead, grip tightening on the handle of his case. “You knew and didn’t tell me?” Newt asked bitterly.
Victoria placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. She opened her mouth to say something and for once, she didn’t have a blunt response or snarky remark. “It wasn’t my position to say…”
Newt scoffed. “It would’ve been nice to know beforehand,” He said before shoving her hand off and walking away from Theseus’ office. Away from his brother. Away from his friend. Away from her. Newt hadn’t seen then in so long and now that he had the chance… He just left…?
(Y/N) quickly ran after him, “Newt, wait!”
Victoria leaned against the door frame, banging the back of her head against the wood. “It’s always a Scamander…”
Theseus looked at Victoria. “Did… Did they have something?”
Victoria sighed, stopping from her current action to look at Theseus. “It’s not my position to say…”
~*~*~
In the hallway, (Y/N) finally caught up to Newt. She held onto the material of his sleeve.
“Back there,” She panted. “What was that about?”
“You… You’re dating my brother?” He asked. Stupid question, but he needed to hear it again to make sure he wasn’t imagining it.
“Yeah, what’s it to you?” (Y/N) said, but her tone made it sound rude.
“Didn’t think he’d be your type…” Newt mumbled.
“And you know what my type is?” She replied, slightly offended.
“I…” Newt paused. ‘I was hoping that it’d be me.’ He thought.
(Y/N) sighed, finally letting go of his sleeve. “Look, you’re my best friend and I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. I’ll admit that it was my fault, but I don’t want to lose you just because I’m dating your brother. I-”
“What?” Newt interrupted. “One Scamander isn’t enough? You need both of us in your life, do you? Why do you need me? You already have Theseus wrapped around your fingers.” He snapped.
“What is up with you, Newton?” She groaned in frustration. “You know what? Now is not the time. I’ll give you all the time and space you need. When you’re ready to talk about this, I’m only an owl away.” She turned to leave, but not before saying something that made Newt realize how he felt about his best friend.
“Just know that before Theseus,” She paused. “It was always you.”

Trust in me by Winmance It isn’t the innocence of the boy’s voice that was making such dirty sexual innuendos that made his blood run cold, it was the suggestive smirk he plastered onto his face while saying it. The way he leans too far forward on the chair, that it was impossible not to look obscene, and the large spread of his legs while he does so, almost inviting Jensen to look. When Jensen's best friend asks him to questionned the young prostitute he just came back with, Jensen has no idea that his life is about to change. Neither does Jared.

Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia: An Excellent Show Undermined by its Race Problems
https://ift.tt/3sSSitt
Marketed as an updated and darker version of Gilmore Girls, the idea of this new mother-daughter duo show, Ginny & Georgia, is instantly appealing. Netflix’s new top 10 show is about 15-year-old Ginny Miller, played by Antonia Gentry, who often feels more mature than her 30-year-old mother, Georgia (Brianne Howey). When the family moves from Texas to a new town called Wellsbury in Massachusetts, Ginny isn’t too keen until she meets her super cute neighbor, Marcus, and his twin sister Maxine. But life is not so simple, and as secrets come to light, things get more complicated.
After finishing the show in 24 hours, I wish I could sit here and write about how compelling it is and how well it portrays that point in teenage life where you’re impulsive, awkward, and nervous as you try to figure out relationships and find yourself. However, while the town of Wellsbury is picture-perfect, Ginny & Georgia is not as it is undermined by a significant race problem, primarily how it deals with its biracial lead.
The show’s failure to deal with its lead character Ginny’s biracial identity makes it hard for me to love all the other great aspects of the show, as much as I want to. Ginny & Georgia’s exploration of coming of age, self-harm, LGBTQ+ relationships, sexual abuse, and being an American Sign Language family is compelling and something I wish was more present on television. Even criminal mastermind Georgia Miller, whose life is full of secrets, murder, and lord knows whatever else, is undermined by the shows tendency to only acknowledge Ginny’s Blackness when dealing with racism. Her race isn’t considered in any other regard, which suggests being Black is nothing more than microaggressions and discrimination, and that racism makes up the entirety of the Black identity.
“If you had an ass, you’d be perfect”
Ginny’s experience of racism, mostly in the form of microaggressions, is plain for the eye to see, particularly in the comments made by Ginny’s new friends. When her friend Samantha (Romi Shraiter) asks her, “What are you?” and then plays it off as a compliment because Ginny is so “exotic looking,” Ginny’s response is silence. An equal response is given when the same friend fetishizes mixed-race babies by saying, “I’m going to marry a Black man so I can have adorable little mixed babies.” Beyond the fact that this comment is weird, and that the show is in many ways portraying a main character who is struggling with their biracial identity, the show normalizes racist comments by not having Ginny call out her friend.

Celebrating Black Voices in Anime with Funimation
By Daniel Kurland
It’s the same situation when Ginny straightens her hair, and Brodie, one of those characters who thinks they’re the funniest person alive but actually just fulfils that stereotypical teen drama douchebag role says, “If you had an ass, you’d be perfect. It’s weird that you don’t.” The use of comments like these in the show aid stereotypes and fetishizations of Black women as objects of desire and the idea that Black women, like me, who don’t have large bums are somehow less Black.
The show attempts to deal with this issue by having Ginny discuss it with her boyfriend Hunter (Mason Temple). Though it is a lovely scene because they start to discuss their experiences of being biracial, it does not address the fact Brodie has just used a racist insult, which is a common occurrence among Ginny’s friends.
Both of these sequences undermine Ginny’s character, who, when we first meet her, is outspoken and strong as she calls out her English teacher for constructing a syllabus containing mostly white men. The show weakens its lead character when it portrays Ginny as someone who can’t have hard conversations with her friends.
“Too unconventional”
A particularly striking aspect of the show is Ginny’s interactions with her AP English teacher, Mr. Gitten (Jonathan Potts). Her interactions with him are reflective of a situation most Black people have either experienced or heard about during their education, and yet the way the show handles it is somewhat messy. In Gitten’s first encounter with Ginny, he assumes she is not as well-read as the rest of her (predominantly white) classmates. This is continued when he states Ginny lost the writing competition because her essay was “too unconventional” when he really means it was too Black for him. Never directly discussing the issue Mr. Gitten has with her until the last episode, the moment is the closest Ginny comes throughout the whole show to dealing with the racism she receives, and yet it is one of the most unrealistic portrayals I have witnessed on television.
Instead of trying to get the teacher punished, Ginny’s approach to dealing with the racism she receives is to blackmail him, saying she’d out him as a racist if he doesn’t give her a glowing college recommendation letter. I can only speak on my experiences as a Black woman who’s faced similar situations, but Ginny’s approach is naïve and an impractical reflection of what racism in school is like for minority ethnicities. The solution to racism is not blackmail. By Ginny choosing to blackmail him instead of telling the school so he can get fired or just have another teacher to write the recommendation letter, it makes her less honorable.
Also, many of the comments Gitten makes are in front of the class and something he’s been doing for years as Bracia tells Ginny she’s had similar experiences with him. So surely he really wouldn’t have felt that threatened? All in all, Ginny’s approach to dealing with Mr. Gitten’s treatment is shocking and unhelpful as it suggests this is a useful way racism is dealt with.
“Your bars could use a little work, homie”
The show’s failure to fittingly deal with its biracial lead’s struggles weakens the rest of the show, as it opens the door to messy scenes such as the heavily criticized “Oppression Olympics” scene where Ginny and Hunter throw stereotypes at each other, while Hunter fails to see how Gittens’ treatment of Ginny is racist. While the scene can be criticized for many things, it does well to highlight how all people of color can experience racism, but their experiences are not the same. While Hunter’s experiences are 100% valid, they are not comparable to what Ginny is going through in relation to their English teacher. Hunter’s accusations that Ginny is “causing drama in class” is him painting her in the stereotypical angry Black woman image because she’s calling out discrimination and using her voice.

Firefly Lane and the Problem with Aging up and Down
By Rosie Fletcher
The dialogue the argument uses is embarrassing, to say the least, with Ginny saying to Hunter, “Your favourite food is cheeseburgers, and I know more Mandarin than you do, you’re barely even Asian,” while Hunter says, “But I’ve never seen you pound back jerk chicken. The last time I checked, Brodie twerks better than you. And I liked your poem, but your bars could use a little more work, homie. So really, how black are you then?” The entire argument, which consists of stereotypes to prove who’s whiter, is extremely chaotic as it perpetuates this idea that you’re somehow less Black if you don’t know how to twerk or “pound back jerk chicken” whatever that means. And beyond the awful dialogue, the worst bit about it is the situation, which happens in episode 8, is never resolved. It is as if the writers of the show were saying racial identity is something two biracial characters “should” be struggling with, and instead of showing how they do, we’ll just throw this scene in and have them throw derogatory stereotypes at each other. The writing in the scene undermines what could have been a powerful moment which explored both Ginny’s struggle with her identity and the racism she’s experienced since she arrived in Wellsbury. Instead, we’re left with a frustrating scene that only reinforces the show’s inability to deal with a biracial lead character.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
While Ginny & Georgia is a delightfully chaotic show that for the majority of it will have you hooked and on the edge of your seat, its inability to deal with the lead character’s identity seriously undermines it. By not dealing with the microaggressions and discrimination Ginny receives, the show normalizes racism. If there is a season two, I hope the show gets a better handle on Ginny’s identity and what it means to be biracial.
Ginny & Georgia is available to stream on Netflix now.

Chapter 22 - Easily Distracted
“Wait, really?” Disbelief washed over Jungkook as he looked up at his mentor. Taehyung had been venting about his most recent experience with you as the both of them sat around Taehyung’s kitchen table. Jungkook was finally preparing to enter his first art show, so he brought pictures of every work he had made thus far, and the duo spread them around the table to try and choose which would be the main focus, and which would be set aside. It was a difficult task, one Taehyung always dreaded because to him, all of his work deserved to be seen in the foreground. Taehyung set one of the pictures down and let out a frustrated sigh.
“Yeah…” he said softly. “I knew I should have waited before I told her how I felt and now I think I screwed everything up with her.” Jungkook leaned forward on the table a bit, grabbing his bottled water and taking a sip.
“Don’t think that way, Hyung. Did she immediately say she didn’t like you?”
“Well, no. She needed time to think.” He said simply.
“Then maybe she’s thinking about how she’ll say yes. Women are complex creatures, you know…” Taehyung cocked an eyebrow at the young high school boy as a playful grin formed on Jungkook’s face.
“You’ve had a girlfriend for like a month and a half, relax.” He said, and Jungkook began to laugh. “You’re not a wise, old guru of love when you’ve barely held her hand.”
“We have!” Jungkook’s eyes went wide, and now Taehyung was the one to burst out laughing. “You’ll see. She’s coming to see me at my art show with her friends. She’s nice, so you’ll definitely like her.”
“Looking forward to it.” Taehyung smiled. “Anyway, let’s get back to this, okay?” Jungkook nodded, and Taehyung passed him a few photos. “I think if we align these right in front of your spot, it’ll really pop. Nobody makes works like this that I’ve seen, so they’ll pop out even if we’re farther back in the venue spot.” Jungkook nodded.
“I agree.” He said, setting those aside. The duo continued working for a little while longer until Jungkook’s mother called him telling him to head home in time for dinner. Collecting his pictures, Jungkook headed to the door. On his way out, he turned to Taehyung.
“I really don’t think you should worry,” Jungkook said simply. “If she wants time to think, she probably won’t take dates from Mr. Kim either. So, all you can do is wait for the results.” Taehyung offered him a small smile and patted his shoulder.
“Get home safe, Jungkook.” He said simply. The boy nodded, heading out the door and down towards the elevator. Taehyung watched him for a moment, before closing the door. He hummed, heading straight into the kitchen to grab himself a beer. Maybe two.
He didn’t need to be getting love advice from the high schooler.
----------------------------------------------
“Mr. Kim!” An anxious Yuna shouted as she hurried onto the front playground of the school. Taehyung looked over from the swing set, where he was pushing Yeji and Soobin at the same time. “I wanna be pushed too.”
“Okay, you can go next.” He smiled at her, and she squealed in excitement, watching her two friends practically fly away, higher and higher with every push on the swing set. He watched as Yuna’s mother left with a wave, and he nodded his head, turning his attention back to the kids. He had been trying to do that each morning and each afternoon, to keep his eyes on the children rather than in your direction. However, he found himself slipping up every now and again. His eyes darted from the swing set for a moment and caught a glimpse of you by the slide. You were watching as Chaeryeong and Lia slid down the slide together, squealing in delight as they held onto one another on the journey. You had not noticed him staring, because he looked back over at the swings just as they flew back towards him. Grabbing them, he quickly slowed them to a stop. “Okay, guys. Time to give someone else a turn.” Both children, compliant and mature, nodded and quickly hopped off, allowing Yuna to grab her spot on the plastic swing. As he began pushing her, he smiled as he saw Soobin and Yeji hurry to the other side of the playground.
“I know how to jump from the swing when it’s super high!” Yuna shouted. Taehyung chuckled.
“Oh really?” he asked curiously. “Let’s maybe not do that, though. It won’t be safe.” He offered one big push forward again, and Yuna shrieked in delight. He chuckled a bit until he heard a familiar voice.
“Have a good day, Kai.” Taehyung felt his shoulders go rigid and he looked over towards the entrance of the preschool. There, he saw Namjoon, knelt as he offered his son a big hug, much to the boy’s delight. Taehyung immediately looked away, deciding it best to focus on the child he was pushing rather than the man who just walked into the premises. However, he could only do so much when out of the corner of his eye, he watched as Namjoon walked across the playground and in your direction. You met his gaze as you greeted Kai, before sending him off with his friends to play. Taehyung’s eyes now couldn’t focus on anything else, and they sat glued to you.
“I was just wondering…” Namjoon began, and you knew quickly you would have to turn him down. You already knew what his request would be. “I was hoping I would be able to take you out again soon. I’m free this upcoming weekend and I was tempted to try this new place that opened up by my house.” You smiled at Namjoon as he shyly chuckled, his dimples poking through once again. “Only if you want to, of course.”
“That sounds fun, Namjoon…” you said softly. “But I uhm…I’m not going to be accepting dates for a while.” Namjoon blinked, his shy smile curling up into a slight frown, an eyebrow cocked in curiosity. “Not that I don’t necessarily want to, it’s just a lot is going on right now.” You didn’t want to admit that your mind was taken up with thoughts of both him and Namjoon, both men who have been very upfront with their feelings for you and have sent you into the confinements of a three-sided love triangle with no means of escape currently in view. All you could do was sit in the middle and wait until one showed its face, even if it meant Namjoon and Taehyung were forced to sit and do the same. “I have my evaluations coming up and they’re always really stressful and…there’s just a lot of stuff, you know?”
“Right,” Namjoon said quickly. “I understand. No worries, focus on all that first.” He smiled sweetly at you, and it made you feel a bit relieved, you had to admit. “But if you need anyone to talk to about anything, just give me a call, okay?”
“Got it.” You said happily. Namjoon waved, before quickly calling out to Kai, who was dangling upside down from the monkey bars.
“Kai, be careful!” He chuckled. Kai waved.
“Teacher! Look at me!” You quickly hurried over, lifting your arms to get him down from his dangling spot, much to the dismay of him and his friends that were watching from the ground.
“Kai, that’s dangerous…” you said softly, but Kai only offered a playful grin and giggled in amusement. Setting him back onto the floor, you sent him and the other boys off to play, Kai quickly taking your hand to lead you along with him. Namjoon smiled, before slowly making his way out of the daycare. He waved to Hoseok, who was sitting in the sandbox watching two little girls make a sandcastle. Then, he turned to Taehyung, whose eyes had yet to leave the tall, dark, and handsome man in thin-rimmed glasses.
“Have a good day,” Namjoon said simply. Taehyung nodded.
“Don’t try anything funny. I’m watching you. She made herself perfectly clear and-.”
“I know, I heard her.” Namjoon interrupted quickly. Namjoon saw irritation written all over the younger boy’s face, and he couldn’t help but be amused. “I’m assuming she told you the same thing.”
Taehyung was quiet for a moment but eventually nodded. “Yes.” He said softly. “Something along those lines.” Namjoon nodded.
“Then for now I guess we can offer a temporary truce?” Namjoon grinned, hoping his playful joke would land. However, when Taehyung simply turned back to the swing set, Namjoon let out a sigh. “I was kidding.” He admitted.
“Funny.” He said simply. He looked over at Namjoon once again. “Just don’t try anything funny until she’s ready.”
“You make me out to sound like some kind of criminal,” Namjoon said simply. “I don’t feel that way towards you.”
“Not as straightforwardly as I am, maybe.” He said simply. Namjoon frowned a bit.
“You know, she’ll never go for you if you keep acting like an immature child.”
“Imma-.” Taehyung glared at Namjoon now, feeling his anger rise. “And what makes you say that?” When he caught the swing again, his hands balled into fists as he pushed it once again.
“I have a four-year-old son. I can see it from a mile away. You even pout like him.”
“Mr. Kim. Watch this!” Yuna shouted from the swing, her voice slightly distorted from the wind hitting her face as she flew through it. Taehyung didn’t hear it though, the blood pumping in his ears as he turned to Namjoon.
“I’m not acting like anything,” Taehyung said simply. “I’m just making sure you don’t keep overwhelming her with dates.”
“I don’t intend to,” Namjoon said simply. “Why are you acting like I am? I literally told her I won’t bother her about it.”
“I heard that little comment about being there if she needs you to talk, it’s such an obvious trick to get her to call you anyway.”
“Mr. Kim, look!” Yuna shouted again, but it fell on deaf ears.
“Is it really? Or are you just mad you were too selfish to offer her the same thing when she turned you down too?!” Taehyung’s eyes widened for a moment and he frowned. “And now you’re blaming it on me.” It made Namjoon chuckle a bit. “I guess she might find it cute, but if you ask me, it’s horribly unprofessional to act this way!”
That was the word, the word that made Taehyung’s heart fall into his chest. It took him a moment to regain his composure, as much of it as he could, but he was finding it increasingly difficult. His hands balled into fists, and he glared at the taller man.
            “Tch…That’s not-!”
Before Taehyung could say anything else, a high-pitched and childlike “Weeee!” alerted Taehyung’s attention to the right of him. He turned slightly, and for a moment, it felt as if everything was going in slow motion. Yuna’s little body was suspended in the air, arms and legs spread out in absolute glee as she flew. From the corner of his eye, he could see a group of kids at the sandbox watching their friend in glee, their mouths dropped open in shock. Hoseok was getting out of his spot at the sandbox and hurrying over. Just as Taehyung blinked, he heard someone shout:
“Watch out, Taehyung!” However, before he could react, a hard piece of plastic slammed him in the face. Grunting, Taehyung flew backward and fell onto the ground, his head smacking onto the pavement. For a moment, he heard nothing but a loud buzzing in his ears, and he thought that he had died and gone to heaven. Good, maybe that’s where I should go… he thought to himself. However, slowly but surely, Taehyung could feel his arms and fingers twitch, he could feel the light of the sun poking at his eyes in an attempt to get them to open. He could hear children screaming, and the faint out of Seokjin’s voice. Another groan escaped his lips. He had to try to sit up and quickly lifted his head. However, a sharp pain flew across his head, from one ear to another, and his head simply slumped down to the floor again.
“You might have a concussion, don’t move.” He heard a deep voice say. Taehyung tried to put a face to the voice, unable to for a moment.             Finally, however, it became clear as crystal who was talking to him.
Or are you just mad you were too selfish to offer her the same thing when she turned you down too?!
“Ghhh, don’t touch me, Kim Namjoon…” Taehyung groaned, his eyes still tightly held shut despite the pounding it caused in his head. He heard a snicker.
“Well, he isn’t dead.” The voice hummed again. Taehyung was tempted to swing blindly above him, hoping that sheer luck to help him ‘accidentally’ knock this guy in his jaw. However, his body froze when a calmer, gentler voice flew through his ears like the perfect melody of a beautiful lullaby.
“Taehyung? Are you okay?” She cooed. Taehyung groaned, feeling his eye muscles twitch a bit. “Hey, don’t open your eyes. Namjoon is right, you might have a concussion…just take it easy.” Taehyung could feel his head be lifted up gently, and a hand cupped behind him. “I don’t feel a bump. Let’s get you inside and give you some ice, just in case.”
“Yeah…” Finally, Taehyung forced himself to sit up, and his eyes cracked open just a bit. He could see a dark skirt and colorful apron beside him, and when his eyes perked up just as a bit, as much as they could really, you were sitting beside him. Despite your calm voice, the worry was poking through your eyes and onto your entire face. “I’m fine.” He assured. “I just need some time to rest and-.”
“Oh no.” Another voice chimed in, and when everyone looked up, Seokjin was standing there as well. “I’m not risking a lawsuit on a simple ‘I just need some time to rest’. I’m calling a medic to check on you, understand?”
“Uh…” Before Taehyung could respond, he felt Seokjin take his arm.
“Namjoon, take his other side and help me get him inside.” Taehyung groaned again but didn’t protest as Namjoon took his other arm and scooped him to his feet. “You guys get the kids inside,” Seokjin said simply.
“Is Mr. Kim okay?” Soobin asked curiously as he stood by the sandbox.
“Mr. Kim is going to be just fine,” Seokjin assured. “Now everyone, get in line and head in for the day, alright?” The kids silently did what they were told, following Hoseok and you inside with Namjoon and Seokjin dragging a barely functioning Taehyung behind. “Let’s go to my office. I have some supplies there.” Seokjin spoke. Taehyung groaned, letting his neck go limp and his head roll forward as he used what little strength, he had in his legs to follow the men.
Taehyung was set on a comfortable chair, and his body finally got another moment to relax. He heard Namjoon and Seokjin speak before Namjoon left in fear of being late to work. Taehyung’s head was continuing to pound, and not until Seokjin turned the lights off and closed the curtains did he feel comfortable enough to open his eyes a crack. He watched as Seokjin walked over, slipping some ice behind Taehyung’s head. The cold chill of the ice course from his head to his neck and shoulder and Taehyung felt a sense of comfort and release.
“Are you alright?” Seokjin asked. Taehyung nodded, draping his arm over his eyes. “I’m glad I was watching from the office window just at the right time. You looked very distracted.”
“Yuna was calling at me to watch her and I didn’t hear her. Did she get hurt from jumping?”
“No,” Seokjin assured. “She, unlike you, landed on the soft mulch around the swing set, so she just got a bit dirty. I think she was more worried about you anyway.” Taehyung sighed softly, biting his lip. “What were you two fighting about that you got so distracted?”
“It’s nothing,” Taehyung said simply. “We weren’t even fighting.”
Now, Seokjin had to laugh. “Oh really? Don’t try to fool me. Your eyebrows were furrowed from a mile away. The fire was basically coming up behind you, I’m amazed you also didn’t suffer third-degree burns.” Taehyung chuckled a bit. “You don’t have to tell me. I already have an idea. But I guess it’s none of my business. The man who saved your life and whisked you away to be medically treated.”
“…Yeah, speaking of, where’s the nurse?”
“We actually have one contracted at the urgent care right down the street. The person who owns the urgent care and the investor of the preschool are good friends, so they came to the agreement a few years back to try and save some money on both sides. So, for serious injuries, we call and they send a nurse over. We ended up closing the nurse’s office. With only one class, it was too much money to have an in-house nurse, so our investor saves lots of money this way.” Taehyung nodded, though he barely took in anything Seokjin said. “I think we should go back to having a nurse there all the time though.” He admitted. When he didn’t hear anything, he smiled. “You rest. Hoseok called the urgent care and they should be here soon.” Taehyung could hear Seokjin walk to the door, careful to close it as he exited. Taehyung was alone in Seokjin’s office, his head pounding as he sat silently in the darkened room with only the sensation of the ice pack on his head to keep him from falling asleep.
---------------------
Taehyung was not sure how long he sat in the dark office resting in the chair before the medic arrived at the school, but before he knew it, he was propped up with lights shining in his eyes, vitals being checked, and multiple questions of what happened being showered on him at once. He answered to the best of his ability, but his head was pounding so hard it felt like someone was attending a rock concert in there.
“Well, it’s a very minor concussion.” The doctor said. Taehyung nodded, expecting as much. “I advise going home, taking the next day or two off, and resting up. If you force yourself to do anything, then you’ll only make it worse.”
“Right. Thank you.” The doctor handed Taehyung a piece of paper.
“Here’s a prescription. Get it filled and go home.” She smiled sweetly at him, before excusing herself and getting ready to leave. Taehyung watched her exit, opening the door as she stepped out. However, he also saw you there, chatting with the doctor for a moment before making your way into the office, closing the door behind you. Taehyung sighed, looking away. This was not something he was in the mood to deal with.
“Are you okay?” you asked softly as you pulled up a chair beside him.
“I’m fine. A few days of rest and I’ll be back.”
“Okay, if you’re so sure.” You hummed. “That swing hit you hard, and the pavement. I’m glad the concussion was the only minor.” Taehyung nodded. “I saw you and Namjoon fighting….I was about to come over and say something, but the next thing I know is-.”
“-Is I’m getting slammed onto the floor and Yuna turns into a rocket and goes flying.” Taehyung huffed. You could sense how angry he was with himself. “I can’t believe that happened, right in front of him. I think that’s what he wanted, for me to lose my cool.” You sighed softly.
“Don’t think that way.” You said softly. “Do you need a ride home? You shouldn’t take the subways like this….” Taehyung thought for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, I’ll talk to President Kim.”
“Yeah…” Taehyung said. He finally rolled his head in your direction, looking at you with half-lidded, semi-glossy eyes. “Sorry. Looks like you’ll have to do art again for the next few days.” You smiled a bit.
“I think I can manage now that you’ve taught me everything you know. I’m practically a natural.” Taehyung smiled as he closed his eyes again. You bit your lip, before gently placing a hand on his arm. Not too sure how to offer comfort, you rubbed it gently. The sensation made Taehyung feel all tingly inside, and he hummed softly. It was a relaxing feeling, one that took his mind away from the war raging in his brain. After a moment, you slowly pulled your hand away. Taehyung’s eye cracked open to see you turn your head, most likely preparing to get up. Without thinking, he quickly took your hand, stopping you in your tracks. You turned to him, cheeks flushed and eyes wide in shock. He didn’t do anything, he just held it; squeezed it for a moment, as if he was pushing through the stinging sensation of a shot only to release your hand once again. When he looked up at you, he quickly retracted his hand.
“Sorry…” he mumbled.
“Don’t worry.” You assured, finally standing up. “I’ll go find President Kim, okay? Is there someone you can call to get you?”
Taehyung thought for a moment. There was only one person.
----------------------------------------------
“ARE YOU OKAY?!” A frantic Park Jimin burst through the doors of Seokjin’s office. Seokjin looked up from his computer, and Taehyung groaned at the noise, his head lifting up as well. “Namjoon-Hyung told me as soon as he got into work. What happened, Tae?”
“Nothing serious. Just got hit with a swing set, standard pre-school procedure.” He heard Seokjin snort a little from behind his desk. “Just take me home, I’m exhausted.”
“Tae you can’t sleep with a concussion. You could die!”
“Watch me.” He hissed. Jimin picked him up, swinging an arm over his shoulder.
“Feel better, Taehyung.” Seokjin waved, watching as Jimin led him out of the office and to the exit of the preschool. Seokjin spun around in his chair, watching out the window as Taehyung was helped into Jimin’s car, the latter slipping into the driver’s side and pulling out of the parking lot. Seokjin hummed, exhaling a long breath before turning back to the computer and typing away. He now had an extensive amount of paperwork to fill out because of this injury, so he needed to get to work.
As Jimin drove, he looked over to Taehyung, who was resting his head against the window. His eyes were closed, but it didn’t seem like he was sleeping. Still, Jimin didn’t want to be too careless.
“Tae?” he hummed. His friend offered a groan in response, his eyes fluttering open. “I have glasses in the glove box. Put them on to help with the light sensitivity.” As Taehyung’s hand reached forward, grabbing the glasses, Taehyung looked back at the road. “So, what happened?”
“I just got hit with a swing set because I wasn’t paying attention, that’s all…”
“No, no. I know that. Namjoon-Hyung told me.” Despite the dark glasses on Taehyung’s face, he could still feel the daggers poking through them and into Jimin’s skin. “What happened that you weren’t paying attention?”
“Oh, of course, he keeps that part out of the story, hm?” Taehyung scoffed. “I told him not to try anything funny because he asked her out on a date and we started arguing and he was just being annoying and-.” As he continued to ramble, Namjoon’s words hit his mind once again.
You’re just mad that you were too selfish to offer a hand yourself, aren’t you? And you’re taking it out on me.
“And yeah…” Taehyung finished. “That’s all…” Jimin glanced over at his friend once again, sighing softly. It wasn’t long after that, they pulled into the parking lot of Taehyung’s apartment. The duo got out and made their way inside. “God, I’m exhausted.”
“I already said you can’t sleep with a concussion.” Jimin scoffed as they went up the elevator. “Sit up with some ice, I’ll dim the lights, but you can’t sleep.”
“All of those things make me want to sleep,” Taehyung said. Jimin unlocked Taehyung’s apartment, leading him inside the bedroom and helping him onto the bed. He quickly turned the lights off.
“Stay there, I’ll grab ice.” With Jimin gone, Taehyung stared up at the ceiling, waiting until his eyes adjusted in the dark before he was able to start making out outlines of various things in his room. When that simple act began causing his eyes to tense, he quickly shut them again, groaning to himself. When Jimin returned, he set the ice on his forehead. “Hyung gave me the rest of the day off, so I’ll stay here with you, okay?”
“You don’t have to do that…Go back to work,” Taehyung begged.
“Too late. I already punched out for the day.” Jimin giggled. “I’ll be in the living room. Holler if you need me.”
“I seriously don’t need-.” Jimin immediately shut him up with a simple ‘shhhhhh’.
“Stop arguing. You don’t have a girlfriend to take care of you, so until that happens, I need to make sure my spot as doting house husband is secured.” Taehyung grinned a bit, a grin Jimin could easily make out in the dark. He reached forward, propping up Taehyung’s head just slightly. “There. Now if you do fall asleep, you won’t die.” He said, before finally exiting the room.
“You’re overreacting,” Taehyung called, but was not giving a response. Once he was left alone in the room again, Taehyung looked down at his hand. It lifted above his head, and he took a moment to make out its outline by continuously squeezing it into a fist. As he did so, he thought of all the things he was about to do today with that fist, things he is now forced to put on hold.
Ball up clay with the kids.
Grip the sides of the swing set for a child,
            Punch Namjoon in the jaw.
            Hold your hand.
That last one sat in his mind for a moment, jumping back to the office when he quickly grabbed and squeezed your hand. The look of shock on your face made him feel immensely guilty. Only one thing sat in his mind: Here I am, telling him not to overstep his boundaries, and I’m being a total hypocrite. Maybe I deserved to get slammed onto the floor… The thought pissed him off to no end, and he slammed his fist on the bed in frustration, before forcing his eyes closed.
--------------------------------
Namjoon sat in his office that morning, resting against the back of his chair as he spun it around to stare ahead at the vast amount of Seoul scenery before him. He rested his chin on top of a balled-up fist and remained silent. He had sent Jimin to pick up and stay with Taehyung because he knew he shouldn’t be home alone after such a serious injury. He had no intention of letting the man suffer, despite how childish he seemed to be in regards to you. As he sat, he thought back to the moment the incident happened.
Ghhhh…don’t touch me, Kim Namjoon…. he remembered Taehyung growling, which actually amused him. As he knelt beside the man, he watched as you hurried over, kneeling down and gently lifting his head into your lap. He watched as your brows furrowed together in intense worry, and how calmly you spoke to him in hopes to keep him calm as well. Namjoon had to admit that at that moment, he was a bit jealous. If he could get the same treatment, excluding the head injury, he would feel as if he was on cloud nine! However, that was not the case.
No matter how much Namjoon wanted to admit it to himself, he had begun to notice it. Every time he had seen you and Taehyung together, whether it be at the museum, or at the daycare, the looks on your face were always much more genuine than Namjoon could ever hope to have when you were with him instead.
“Mr. Kim?” a voice called, and Namjoon’s chair spun back around. His secretary stepped in, a petite girl fresh out of college, with long brown hair and dark brown eyes. “Your first meeting of the day is here. Mr. Im Heeseok.” Namjoon nodded, smiling.
“Let him in, thank you.” He responded When his secretary left with only a polite nod of her head, Namjoon rose from his seat and walked towards the window, putting his hands in his pockets. Namjoon knew exactly why you had told him you had no intention of dating for a while, and it had little to do with upcoming evaluations. The more he thought about it, he slowly pulled a fist out of his pockets, hitting it against the glass just a bit in frustration.
You were trying to find the right words to say that Kim Namjoon was still fighting in what seemed to be a losing battle.

Red Sky
Kirishima x dragon quirk!reader
B/c everyone in @bakugouscentedcaramel discord is a beacon of nonsense, there’s been a lot of headcanons about an s/o with a dragon quirk, and since I’m a sadist, I’m making all of them angsty.
Warnings: gore, violence, death, sad kirishima, swearing (I think), no happy ending in sight,
Enjoy
Kirishima loved watching you fight. You were a beast. A literal, semi-truck sized, fire breathing, scaled, beast.
Your quirk was Dragon, a very strong ability that let you transform into a literal winged dragon.
That a group of villains stupidly thought they could fight.
The red-haired hero ducked from a thug you had thrown from your fangs. The green haired criminal was knocked into the car behind Kirishima, going out-cold.
You whined an apology, lowering your horned head in embarrassment.
“It’s not problem babe! Nice throw!” The sturdy hero gave you a loving pat on your nose.
He loved the texture of your scales, they were smooth, but still strong enough to take some heavy hits. Multiple times you would transform into a dragon just to act as a shield for civilians. It’s probably why you two worked well as both a team and a couple.
Your forked tongue licked his cheek, since speech was heavily limited all affection must be physical when you’re in your dragon form.
The cute moment between you two was cut off by a distant explosion.
Was that caused by a hero, or were there more villains to be defeated?
You lowered your body, giving kirishima an easier time to climb onto your back. Cameras flashed, obviously the tabloids would have a field day with the headline.
Kirishima couldn’t think about that right now. Right now, he had a job to do.
You did too of course.
“Let’s go cloud breaker.” He referred to you by your hero name, something the media immensely loved. In your human form, you’d respond with a kiss and a, “of course Red riot.”
Kirishima gripped one of your horns tightly. Your large wings spread, and you and him took to the sky. His stomach always lurched when you lifted from the ground. He hoped one day he’d get used to not having the earth beneath his feet.
The wind whipped passed him. The red haired hero looked down from your back and gasped in shock.
Was that...nomu? What were those creatures doing in the city? Was this attack being led by the league of villains.
“(Y/N)!” He shouted your name and you looked back at him.
The look in your eyes practically said I see them.
You screeched, and dipped suddenly. Kirishima nearly slipped from your back, he was so focused on not falling to his demise he nearly didn’t notice the metal pole that had flown passed your torso.
“The hell was that?!” He shouted, you pointed your scaled snout down to the roof of a building signaling the large armed nomu preparing to throw another object at you.
Kirishima lowered himself, holding on to you tighter than before, “let’s get ‘em!” He called.
You roared loudly and dove at your antagonist. The sturdy hero laughed when you barrel rolled, dodging the large rock that was aimed for you. Before the creature had a chance to gear up for another attack, you took it in your claws, much like a hawk picking its prey.
“Manly catch!” Kirishima hollered with a large grin. You purred at his praise and the nomu screeched below you.
When the red haired male looked down at the city, his eyes focused on three nomu reeking havoc in a large intersection. Facing off with them was a familiar electric hero.
“(Y/N)! Kaminari is down there!” He informed. You tilted your body, doing a 180, and preparing to meet the ground again. The seriousness of the situation was getting to you both.
What was going on? Why were nomu attacking so suddenly?
You landed, cracking the pavement beneath you. The nomu in your large claws writhed before you crushed it, finally silencing it. Kirishima leapt from you, and landed a hardened fist at the grey creature getting to close to his blonde haired friend.
Both men cheered when you released a large breathe of fire at the last two.
“Man am I glad to see you guys!” Kaminari said relieved, “I’m nearly at my limit.”
Kirishima laughed, “well we couldn’t let you have all the fun!”
There was a howl that cut them off.
3 pairs of eyes looked up. Where you just were flying, several nomu have taken the sky. You growled, and flapped your leather wings, intending on getting them down.
“You’ve got this!” Kirishima shouted up at you.
“How’d they get there so fast?” Kaminari asked, seemingly worried.
“No idea, these nomu are like flies or something. No matter how many you stop, more of them just keep showing up.” The sturdy hero shrugged, “now come on, they got the sky, and we gotta clear the ground.”
As time went on it became abundantly clear that this was a full scale attack on the city. People were getting injured or killed, and the damage was becoming near irreparable. Currently, the duo had met up with several other heroes, set up a medical station, and started rescue efforts. They focused on protecting the injured, keeping the nomu at bay while doctors and medical quirks could do their work.
Like kaminari, Kirishima was quickly hitting his limit. How long could they keep this up?
Even you were becoming tired. How many times have you landed to the safe area, with people on your back?
You took to the skies once more after dropping off some victims who needed help. Kirishima smile as he watched you, despite the situation, he was so proud. You were a stabilizing symbol of strength now.
He was so focused on you, he didn’t see the nomu aim a spear made of broken metal at you. It happened in an instant. A streak of black against the blue sky, and then your chest burst with blood.
The screech if pain you let out caused heroes and civilians to look up. You flapped your wings to desperately steady yourself, intending to land.
All kirishima could do was watch helplessly as you were struck with a large bolder sending you into the side of the building. You whined and your lover felt a pang in his heart at your pain.
The world seemed to still, time no longer worked.
When you managed to straighten, there was another black streak aimed for you. You aimed a blast of fire to the roof of your assailant, but you weren’t fast enough.
a long broken pipe had pierced your scaled neck, cutting off your flames.
You tried to howl and roar, only to be stopped by your own blood. You tried to fly, desperation keeping your wings flapping, but your strength gave out and you fell from the sky.
Gravity took a hold of you as you began to plummet.
The red haired hero felt sick when crimson blood erupted from your mouth. Kirishima saw you struggling as you choked on your own lifeblood. The struggle in you had disappeared, as did all signs of life.
He cried when you crashed into the pavement 3 blocks away his voice sounded unlike his own as he screamed. Smoke and dust blown up by the impact of your body-of you.
He ran to you, nearly tripping over himself.
The screams and cries of the civilians were unheard. Kaminari’s warning to him fell on deaf ears as he sprinted to you. The blur of a hero rushing the nomu was barely registering. His only focused on one thing.
Getting to you.
His mind was cruel. Telling him it was his fault for not helping you. How he was powerless to do anything as you fell.
Useless. Useless. Useless.
Smoke and dust strangled him as he got closer. He cried your name, begging some divine power that you’d respond. He couldn’t see, particles stinging his eyes.
Kirishima stumbled, falling painfully down the impact site. His tongue tasted metal and dirt, his lungs shook in his chest.
Was the pain in his center from a broken heart or a fatal wound?
Was there a difference?
Red riot straightened onto his knees and looked up.
A gust of wind had cleared the air, and his eyes met yours.
You stayed in your dragon form, most likely not having the strength to change back. Everything about you looked broken. Even your wings, so strong and large, were snapped and bent at odd angles.
Your gaze was locked with his. Somehow, you managed to survive long enough to see him. To let yourself know that he was mostly unharmed.
He was frozen when your eyes closed slowly.
His brain wasn’t listening to him. His body refused to move. The truth has finally hit him like a derailed train.
You were gone.
Kirishima shattered.
