#maybe even takes down a villian or two by accident

Special Spiderverse generic short where its like Miguel and the teens watching over Mayday and repeatedly losing her while Peter B is off doing multiverse stuff and them desperately trying to keep her from getting hurt while simultaneously getting the snot beat out of them due to shenanigans.
Bonus if Peter B repeatedly calls and talks about how great they are with her and how much he and Mary Jane trust them every time they are about to get fed up.

Fandom: none, hero x villian
Rating: T
Prompt(s): "I know what this looks like."
Warnings: An argument
"Wait! Now, hold on-" Villian begins, only to have you turn so sharply he nearly runs into you.
"What?" You snap.
Your hands clench by your side. You're tired, and this latest stunt has you on the edge of spontaneous combustion.
"I know what this looks like." He starts quickly, "I know, but she wouldn't let up. Just kept cornering me the whole fight. She's got one hell of a punch, you know and I was off balance and I just-"
"You just what? Accidently kissed?" You spare him none of the venom that you can currently feel twisting your insides
Why did all of this feel like a betrayal?
It shouldn't even matter!
You are enemies. This guy literally attempts to take over the city on a regular basis.
Your minds keeps replaying the scene along with every moment in your shared narrative that you now suddenly find painful in the the face of it.
The day of the Metro tunnels collapsed and he pulled you out, could have escaped if he had left you, but no.
That time you teamed up against the city's Supervillain and put them safely behind bars?
Now these stupid little truce moments where you both pop in at random just to taunt one another or make sure that latest brawl didn't finish the other off?
None of this should have been happening to begin with.
You have fought one another at almost every turn for years. The whirlwind chases, your daring captures and his last minute get aways. You had done it all and more with him as your main opponent.
Just the two of you in an unending game of cat and mouse.
So maybe that was why seeing him with the city's newest up and coming vigilante like that hurt so much.
"Just go before I get you arrested." You huff.
You turn away from his exasperation.
He protests, because of course he does, but you aren't listening.
"Just get out of here." You say, there's a tremor in your voice that you hope comes off as anger.
Finally he recieves your message and falls silent and you ridgidly wait for the familiar rustle of fabric and the click of a window latch.
After a moment, both sounds reach your ears, but so does his voice.
It's quiet, hardly in character for him.
The last time he'd been this quiet was at the top of the city's tallest highrise. It was New Years. You had watched the city count down together. His voice had been too soft then as well. Too...vulnerable to be the guy that caught you in the occasional overly elaborate trap.
The sound of your name and a gust of wind chilling your skin, returns you to the present.
"I didn't kiss her back."
You resist the urge to turn around.
You know he's already gone.
Standing in the now too empty room, an uncomfortable swirl of emotions, conflicting and messy fill your every molecule.
The fireworks that year had been the biggest and brightest the city had ever set off.
This silence surrounding you now was the loudest thing you'd heard since.

Whumptober day 25: Silence is Golden
Fandom: Ducktales
Prompts;
Lost voice
Duct tape
"You better start talking."
I mean really, how could I not torture (it came out more implied than anything…) Donald? Also; sorry in advance for anyone who likes good parents Hortense and Quackmore…. And sorry its kinda short! These things keep loosing length, where did it all go??
The family tree was all over the place, to say the least, but one thing thats pretty common, is the tempers. You'd think they'd stop having kids eventually, a recipe for disaster for anyone you asked.
When the McDucks joined the family, it was a surprise to everyone. Hortense and Quackmore were at eachothers throats as much as they were head over heels. And when she got pregnant? Lets just say you didnt want to see her angry.
They didnt know what to expect, for the parents or children, but the other generations so far had done their jobs, they were sure the kids would be fine. They may fight, but they loved eachother, and they'd love the children too.
Itd be fine.
Donald and Della are turning 6, and Grandma Duck is throwing them a party. She hasn't seen much of her grandkids, holidays maybe, in pictures sure, so she wanted this to be the best birthday.
Shes more than ready when her son pulls up. He takes a moment to leave the car, talking to the twins before helping them from the back seats. She bends down with open arms, but it takes a nudge from Quackmore for the two to come in for a- stiff- hug.
"I'm sorry Ma, but I have to go. Hortense and I have a thing, thanks for taking care of them today though!"
"Oh, uh of course dear. You know im always delighted to see family."
"Thanks, you two be good."
She watches her son leave with a frown, before looking down at two of her grandchildren,
"Well then birthday kiddos, lets go have some fun yeah?"
Donald hasnt said a word. And Elvira knows he can, she might not have seen them often, but she remembers the few times she had. Shes thankful at least, that he seems to get along with his cousins, though hes rare to leave Dellas side.
Fethry finally pulls him away, and Elvira is quick to sweep down and smile at the birthday girl.
"Having fun Della?"
"Yes grandma. Thank you." She stands stiffly, hands fidgeting with her skirt.
"Of course dear, can I ask you something sweetheart?"
"...sure." She answers hesitantly.
"Why… why isnt your brother speaking dear?"
"Oh… Donalds lost his voice grandma. I've been tryin ta find it, but daddy- father says, that we should forget." She admits quietly.
"Lost… I see. Well, lets look together then, shall we?"
"Oh really??" Her eyes light up, "you'll help us look Grandma?"
"Yes, I'm sure the cousins could help too, lets go find that voice of his."
Later that year, Hortense and Quackmore die in a car accident. And Elvira takes the two in for a while, Scrooge had been in the will, but she wonders if he'll be up to the task. She'll be around either way, and she would find Donalds voice.
Donald wakes with duct tape around his bill. Its not a new occurance, he lives a life of adventure- whether he liked it or not. It seemed people really thought keeping him quiet scared him or something. He could understand if his voice annoyed them, but they always taunted the fact he couldnt communicate anymore like he didnt know at least 2 other ways to do so.
The villian of the week is monologuing, Della is sitting across from him, looking bored out of her mind. Donald makes a couple of eye and shoulder movements- twitches at best- that she responds with in a simular fashion.
"Hey! What are you two doing?!" He cuts off mid sentence to yell the question, as if they could answer with any more than a raised brow.
"You're not talking your way out of this. You'll be stuck in silence for the rest of your short lives, and I'll be living rich somewhere!"
Donald rolls his eyes, even as the guy kicks him for it. He was weak to say the least, though crafty enough to nab them. It was a chore more than anything though, Scrooge would come bursting in any minute, treasure in hand and ready to gloat and taunt for hours to come.
Two more minutes of angry ranting, Della mocking him everytime his back is turned, and Scrooge finally arrives.
"Get yer grimy hands off me wards!"
"McDuck! Er, no! I win this time! I have the upper hand!"
"Ye got nothing of the sort, these two trouble makers could have escaped ages ago." Their Uncle is wrong of course, Dellas pocket knife cut through her bindings a while ago. And Donald had gotten the knot undone a couple minutes after he woke.
Della shows off her free limbs cheekily, Donald rolling his eyes once more as he stands and stretches, gauging his injuries as he does so.
Scrooge does his whole thing, takes the guy down and turns to them with a lesson or lecture on his tongue, when he stops and gives them his equivlent of a worried look.
"Is the tape stuck?" He asks carefully.
Donald frowns, feeling the pull on his bill, and realizes he'd completely forgotten, and so it appears did Della.
The 12 year olds carefully pull the tape from eachothers bills, working their mouths to rid the ache. Apparently Donald was more used to it than he thought…
"You better start talking!"
Well thats a first. Donald could only remember a handful of people who wanted him to talk. There was far more times where people wanted him to shut up, and this guy wanted him to talk…
He looks to the kids behind him, six of them, all relying on him right now. He looks back to the villian with a glare,
"Let the kids go and I'll tell you." He says it slower than usual, over pronouncing to try and be understood.
"You're in no place to make demands Duck. Scrooge isnt coming this time, you start talking, or the kids start walking." He motions to the plank with a twisted smile, uncaring who he has to hurt for his gain. Gosh, this wasnt even an adventure this time. It was a reward trip for the kids, a vacation to help them relax and have fun like children. Scrooge wasnt coming, this was up to Donald, and he wouldnt let anything happen to them.
"The maps in the stars."
He gives instructions, piece by piece, keeping the kids behind him at all times. His hands stay behind his back, forming signs and shapes and tapping patterns. Donald is forced ashore with most of the crew, in hunt of the treasure, but he leaves the kids with clear instructions. He trusts them to complete them, while he handles the rest. After all, this treasure was still here for a reason.
The cave is shaped like a toothy mouth, gaping, dark and dank. Things move in the dark at the opening, but the further in they go, the less life there is. Statues in varying states line their path, Donald determinedly doesnt look at them, but he knows the crew is getting spooked.
"Its right through there." He says finally.
The captain swipes his blade and Donald goes down with a shout, arms pressed tightly to the slash across his body.
"Shut him up. Im tired of that voice. We have treasure to collect."
One of the men ties rope across his bill, and pulls his hands behind his back, aiming a kick to his wounded front, before the whole lot enters the last chamber of the cave.
Donald huffs and heaves, rope rubbing painfully at his bill and every breath pulling at his cut. Blood dripping from his collar bone to his hip in steady lines, he needs to get out of here and make sure the kids are okay. He hears shouts from within, cut off almost immediately after they start, and forces himself to roll onto his knees.
He stumbles his way from the cave, each statue a stablilizer as he goes. Horror and pain stricken faces on each, adventures and innocents long lost to the curse of this place. Even Glomgold had been wise enough to leave this one be, most saw the statues and wisely turned back. Scrooge had tried to go in, almost getting Della turned to stone in the process, before turning back.
One of the statues has a fallen sword by it, old and broken, but the jagged end still does the job of freeing his wrists. He presses his arms to his front once more as he hurried towards the ship. The kids are jumping off it as he arrives, running towards him. He drops down and catches the boys, the girls not far behind them, toppling them all over.
"Unca Donald! Youre hurt!" Louie is the first to notice, and Donald feels bad for the blood on their clothes.
His fingers move quickly as he tries to assure them hes fine. He feels the ropes slide off his bill and blinks a bit, Lenas hand stops glowing and Donald gives her a grateful smile. To prove he'll be fine, he stands, and motions towards the ship, he could get them going and find a first aid kit hes sure.
Donald had found his voice long ago, it had been taken from him often enough that he learned to communicate without it. And those that cared, had done the same. But they also took the time to learn his voice, luring it out of hiding and encouraging it. So that a lost voice would always find its way home.

I wanna try the matchup thing! Ok, im a girl, short light brown hair, i like drawing, music, sweets and reading(your stuff mostly). And teddybears. I almost forgot them how dare i- anyway, im not sure what else to add so imma rattle off a few things. Im an introvert, favourite colors are purple and blue (mb green and yellow alongside those), i preffer baggy clother bc im a rather hairy girl, i have like maybe 3 true friends, and all my life i preffered the villians instead of the heroes, can you blame me tho? Im not sure what else to put here, and im also pretty sure there is enought stuff. No need to rush and have a good day! Love your posts! 🧸❤️
(Glad you enjoy my stuff! It may be a tiny bit short for the matchup but I tried my best to stretch it out some! Hope you like it!)
Match-Up #24
-I match you with Jin Bubaigawara-
Tumblr media
headcanon|scenario|imagine|match-up
-I feel as though you two had a special connection when you'd met each other and that you manages to grow close under a short period of time. It takes a lot of patience and time to be with somebody like Twice but I truly believe you stuck it out and held on even when things began to get rough occasionally. You'd probably met by accident (something along the lines of accidentally running into someone at a train station and connecting over a little thing like the sunset). Ever since then, you two have been in each others heart always. He probably ended up moving in with you when the time came since you insisted he get out of that cramped and moldy apartment he was festering in for so long. Besides, the rent and amenities was better in your part of the city compared to him. The day that he finished moving his stuff in, he felt a huge sense of pride wash over him. It was that special moment where you two got to share in coming together with each other. He gifted you a special bear he'd had customized himself for the occasion. After learning how much you liked bears he ended up making it his tradition. They've started being called the 'January Bear' since he'd get you one every year you two made it through dating (the first of January). Speaking of bears, he's taken to calling you a nickname according to it. Aside from this, you get a lot of joy out of being with this man. It's never really a dull moment with him around. It's like having more than one person in the house, especially when you catch him having full arguments and conversations with himself. Sometimes it's not all breezy and you have to support him when he's having a break down. It's probably the first time you'd seen a man like him cry so remember to be patient and not judge him during his rough times. Other than that, he's pretty much an all around fun guy to be with. He's loud, sometimes annoying, and very clingy when he feels like you're leaving the house for too long again. Who knows which of his halves is so attached to you but also…who cares? It's all love at the end of the day after all! He likes to be involved in your interest whether that's trying to draw with you or listening to your playlists and showing you his as well. He sneaks you sweets all the time, often hiding them around the house as a cute game to play with you when you try to find them. he may have to stop it though, considering one day you both lost a sweet and couldn't find it until a week later when the ants came. He's attracted to you in every kind of way. He loves your baggy outfits, and doesn't mind if you're hairy in any way. In his words "You're human aren't you? Humans have hair." He thinks it's cute you own a good deal of stuff that's correlating to your favorite colors and he tries to help build up on that by getting you more stuff as well. He can't wait for the day you introduce him to your friends! He's already introduced you to his. He knew he could trust you considering your stance on the villains point of view and whatnot. I think he mostly cherishes how much you see him as not another mess that isn't worth society cleaning up. He knows you see him as a person, a human…and as the man you love the most. To him, there's nothing worth more than that!

ok so uuh can i maybe request Bakugo with a f!s/o who is not in the hero course bc even tho she has a very powerful quirk it's very painful and dangerous to use? like maybe she can use her blood to create weapons (kinda like Power from Chainsaw Man) but it will leave her very weak and anemic so she only uses it in necessary occasions. thank you so much if you can!♡
🍀hello! I'm not to familiar with "chainsaw man" but I'll do my best research wise :), watches a few videos and em...might add this to my list for summer animes to read
Bakugou x Power from Chainsaw man! reader
Bakugou x fem!reader, fluff
Tumblr media
Bakugou knew you weren't in the hero course from early on
He had seen you training in the U.A gym a few times but was curious as to why you weren't in the hero as he watched you take down a few of class 1 B students who you were training with
"What a waste of space tch"
That was until he seen you just whip out a small sword from your abdomen.
"What the actual fuck-"
Yep after he watched you have a show down with tetsutetsu, he knew he had to see if you could battle against him..and teach him how you move you slick as you create items
After you agreed to teach Bakugou a thing or two and quick movement and how you can multitask, you asked him out
To your shock he agreed, but he chose the date...yep of course you couldn't have a full say :)
After your lovely date at a ramen restaurant after school you both agreed to train with each other after school so Bakugou wouldn't be "annoyed" by his classmates to train with
After your progress you managed to seriously injure Katsuki by accident with one of your blades, he ended up having a tiny cut along the side of his cheek, he could care less if you hurt him it's just the questions from his classmates he dreads...
"Heyyy Bakubro! Huh?!? Yo dude what happened? Did a villian do that to you? You should go get that checked out-" *boom*
He gave a very quick story to summarise what happened since he wasn't bothered to explain himself, well not like he needed too "fuck off dumbass it's only a scratch, and no It wasn't a villain it was my girlfriend-"
Yep, he fucked up
Now that the cats out of the bag many people had questions about your relationship
Who is he dating? Who are you? How did you manage to scratch him? What school do you go to?
Todoroki came up to Bakugou after class "excuse me Bakugou, if you are in a bad relationship there are hotlines you can call-" "the fuck did you say icy hot?!?" Bakugou was not happy that people were assuming you done that out of anger or you were abusive
He never spoke about you again, well not until Kirishima texted him why he was at the hospital that is. He was there with you for blood work to check your Anemia
Katsuki always kept nagging you about your iron levels, as he would say "tch I'm not fucking carrying you to the hospital if you faint on me, go eat your greens"
He would try and give you more red meats and leafy veg, but you knew how to handle it after all these years of training your quirk
"Katsuki it's fine seriously. A little dizziness won't kill me" you said leaving the hospital
"Yeah but the dumbass's nagging me about why I'm at the hospital with you for blood work will"
You decided to post a picture of you and Katsuki getting ice-cream after the hospital on his snapchat story, it was a simple one of you smiling at the camera with Katsuki eating his ice-cream with sprinkles looking away from you...
Yep, that let the class know who you are and that Katsuki was a sprinkles person
Awe~
After that you met a few of his classmates when you walked back to the dorms and stayed to talk to then for a while
You and momo had a conversation on how to create items and how your quirks would work well together, Todoroki kept his distance but realise he was so wrong about you and apologised to Bakugou
Midoriya asked you so many questions about your quirk and why on gods name you werent in the hero course
"I have my own reasons why the hero route isnt for me, but it is always good to train your quirk" you said as you sip the tea Mina brought you
Kaminari did try and ask you if you could make him a katana from an anime..but you said no since it wouldn't be safe and you were told about his intelligence so you could only imagine what crazy stunts he might try and pull
Tumblr media
This was horrible and it took me too long
Sorry for the wait, how long as this been in my inbox 2 weeks? Yikes yeah sorry about that!
Not familiar with the Manga so it was hard for me to reference anything so I tried to bend the request a tad bit..

hello!! can i have miruko and midnight with a student intern (PLATONIC) who just defeated a really strong villian that a lot of other heroes failed to beat? and they’re like suuuuper proud of them and brag to everyone about how strong their apprentice is? thank you!!
i’ve never written for Mirko but i, like most midnight simps, love her as well so hopefully this does her justice!
Rumi Usagiyama/Mirko To be honest you had no idea what you did. You’d never admit that, of course. If you’d learned anything from your mentor it was just to fake it till you made it, even if you were totally lost. Puff out your chest and look in charge, as long as you look like you belong someplace no one will bother you. Maybe you’d taken the advice too far because now you were alone, and this villain was out of your league, but it looked like everyone trusted you. When you looked around for Rumi, desperate for her help she seemed wrapped up in her own fight.  “Hey, you’ve got it! Don’t look so scared! You can’t rely on others forever!”  It spurred you on just enough, the other thing you’d picked up from the rabbit hero was her incredibly hot head.  She fully intended to go in after you, sure she knew you couldn’t rely on her help forever, but you were just a kid, she’d have a tough time taking on that guy alone and she had no intention of making you do it by yourself either, she just wanted you to loosen him up so to speak. Once her own affairs are handled, 3 lower level villains tied to a telephone pole she turns to make way to you, but all she hears is a loud thud, and your opponent is on the ground.   “Holy shit!” She shouts, starting to jump. “Did you see that?!” You shout back, also starting to jump.  “NO but I’m gonna imagine it until the day I die!” She was as strong as she looked, the way she tackles you knocks the wind out of your probably terribly bruised chest. But you don’t mind, not really anyway.  “Tell me everything!” She’s shaking you, your brain feels like soup in your head, and you can practically feel it rattling around your skull. It’s not like it had been an easy win. You definitely had a concussion.  “How the hell did you do that?!” She’s starting to inspect you for any serious damage, twisting and tugging your hero costume, “look at you go! Outshining me!”  The camera crews were fast approaching as she continues her elated praise.  “You’re gonna be a total chart-topper when you graduate!” She spins you around to look at your back.  “And you’ve barely got a scratch!”  “I think I have a major concussion. And I think a rib is floating somewhere ribs shouldn’t float.” You rub the aching area and she laughs.  “Nothing Recovery Girl can’t fix. I’ll give her a call.” Rumi is massaging your shoulders, facing you again.  “How the hell’d you do that?”   “I..honestly don’t know.” You shake your head, “it just...I kept doing what felt right.”  “You are a serious powerhouse, kiddo. Keep your books closed, you’re gonna be my sidekick when you’re old enough. I’m calling dibs.” She’s saying it to you yet also seemingly announcing it to the surrounding newscasters.  “As much as I wanna take credit for this guy, it was all my star pupil.” She shakes you some more, you love Rumi, but she was like a big sister, a buff, heavy-hitting, rough and tumble big sister who didn’t feel pain or understand that other people felt it.  “We’d love to stick around but I’ve got some damaged goods here.” She slings an arm around your shoulder, roughly, you hiss at her.  “Usagiyama-se-OW stop!” You can’t help but laugh, even as the pain rattles down your stomach.  “Make way, make way. Come on, you saw the whole fight there’s nothing else we can tell you, just share the footage so bad guys know to watch out for this kid.” She thumps her foot and the camera crews practically part like the Red Sea for you, you aren’t sure how you ended up with such an impressive mentor.  “So I’ll give Recovery girl a ring, but until then what do you think about cake?” She meanders down the street, and arm still slung around you, “I was thinking-”  “Carrot. I know.” You pinch the bridge of your nose. “Look at you catching on, you’ll be a pro in no time.”  “Can we get a cab?” You whine, “I think I broke my nose.”  “No, and now it’s time for your next lesson under the great and powerful Usagiyama-sensei; walking it off!”  “That’s so unfair!”
Nemuri Kayama/Midnight You didn’t attend UA, actually, you didn’t even bother applying. So when Midnight took you on as a student you were surprised, to say the least. But you learned a lot from her and had grown...surprisingly close. She was level headed and confident, everything she did she did with clear purpose, you could sense her intention even as she walked. These were all traits you were picking up, at times you probably looked much more confident than you felt.  You aren’t sure if you should accredit that or terrible luck to your current situation, and Midnight was nowhere to be found.  You were backed into a corner, this villain was way too much for you, he’d been way too much for every hero that went against them, always getting away and always leaving the hero more than a little banged up. You couldn’t run there was nowhere to go, even if you used your quirk to flee you couldn’t be sure you wouldn’t be followed, and you weren’t sure you could outrun him.  “Stop trying to size everyone up!” You can hear her voice clear as day in your head, “you’ll know how strong they are when the fight starts, looks can be deceiving, and trying to figure out a million what-if scenarios will make you forget what is. Give it your all, you’d be surprised how often it works out in your favor.” You heed her advice, believing in yourself and your abilities.  Midnight cannot believe she lost you. She had a bad habit of losing kids, just misplacing them, it’s not like she could pick and choose who was immune to her quirk, usually, she told her allies to scatter before activating it, the last thing she wanted was you passed out on the street and prone.  She skids down every alley she passes, eyes casting up to awnings and low rooftops to search for you, she hears fighting, she follows the sound.  She turns the corner just in time to see him go down, You’re on his shoulders behind him, legs wrapped around his neck, you’re hitting the top of his head, his face, pulling his nose and mouth and threatening his eyes, you were fighting totally dirty until the minute the guy hit the ground. She was proud.  “Well.” You fall off him before he hits the ground, dusting off your tattered costume.  “Look at you go!!!” She shouts and you perk up considerably at her voice, glad to no longer be alone.  “Midnight!” You beam, “did you see??”  “See?” She scoffs, running toward you, “I recorded it in my mind!” She taps her temple, “I wish I could have seen the whole fight!” She swoops you up, crushing you into her chest, “but what I did see was incredibly impressive! You’re learning well!”  You brace yourself against her shoulders as she looks up at you, “we’ve been trying to take that guy out for weeks. Eraser isn’t gonna believe it when I tell him it was you who did it.”  You flush at that, embarrassment at the thought of her bragging to her colleagues about you warms up the tips of your ears.  “God! Where’d UA go wrong letting you fly under the radar??” She was squeezing you, shaking you. You didn’t mind, despite the throbbing all over body ache you had, it was nice to be praised and appreciated, especially by a mentor as strong a Nemuri. “You’re gonna be a great hero one day.” She sets you down, clasping your shoulders in her hands, “you’ve got the makings of a real wrecking ball, sprout.”  "Do you think so?”  “Uh, yeah. Duh.” She snorts, starting to pinch your cheeks, “you’re a bulldozer! You gave that guy a beating for every hero he banged up ten times over!” She glances at the passed out villain, he was sporting two tender looking black eyes.  “You’re probably hurt.” She wraps an arm tight around your shoulders, “where’s it hurt?”  “My head.” You let yourself lean into her side, “and my legs.”  “The school is nearby, you can rest up there.” She’s rubbing your arm, they’re quick affectionate strokes that make friction heat up your arm and squeeze you close to her side. “And I can show off my star, I can’t wait to brag to everyone about you.” “That’s unbecoming!” You blush at the thought of her showing you off to Present Mic and Eraser Head, gloating about your victory to pros like Vlad King and Hound Dog.  She laughs you off, “no it’s not, but everyone’s jealousy will be!” You groan and roll your eyes but happily let her squeeze you a little tighter, it feels nice to be appreciated and Nemuri, despite how she scoffed at you when you said it, had a sort of maternal air to her at times like this. You won’t say you’ve never called her ‘mom’ by accident. “I clearly have the best apprentice out of everyone! So of course I need to show you off and light a fire under everyone’s ass!”

Standin' in Front of You Sayin' I'm Sorry for that Night
@spideytorchweek 2021 Day 7: free day
The Spider is causing Johnny more problems, but after he kills an innocent, Johnny must find him even if it cost him his life. Peter did something he regrets and now he is getting pulled away from the man he loves.
Ao3 Link here
The Spider was getting on Johnny’s nerves as they fought. He just wanted to go home and sleep in his boyfriend’s arms but no he had to fight this villain known as the Spider. The spider kept choosing to annoy him and wrapping him up with his webbing before he slipped out and Johnny couldn’t do anything but hope that he could get home to get a hot shower before Peter got home.
~
No one knew that Johnny Storm was the Human Torch. It may have made things awkward for him because his boyfriend who he loved so much was the Spider. The same villain who he was fighting but he didn’t know that. Peter Parker, the boy that loved Johnny with all of his heart, was the villain who stole from the rich to give to the poor. Johnny probably would never know if Peter kept it hidden not wanting Johnny to get in trouble for his crimes. When they both were home, they cuddled not knowing that hours before the two of them had been fighting.
“Do you think that we will be together forever?” Peter asked.
“I think that we will be together forever,” Johnny said. “I can’t think of anything that would ever separate us.”
“I can think of a few things that could break us apart,” Peter said concerned.
“I would never leave you,” Johnny said.
“And I would never leave you,” Peter told him. Johnny smiled at him cuddling up to him not knowing that their days were numbered as a hero and a villain could not love each other for long.
~
It had been an accident. Peter had killed the man instead of just stealing from him. He had not meant to kill him but now the man was dead and the Fantastic Four were after him. He decided to lay low and spend more time with Johnny but Johnny was not around. He was gone more for work related events.
“I wish you could be home more,” Peter told him.
“Something major came up at work,” Johnny said.
“Maybe I can visit you at the shop sometime and we can have lunch,” Peter suggested.
“May you be when I am not busy,” Johnny said, figuring that Peter would be busy again with work in no time. He had a few slow weeks apparently and Johnny loved coming home to his boyfriend after a long day of hunting for the murderous spider. Maybe he would catch the spider before Peter was back to his normal schedule.
~
The news was on when Johnny came home as Peter watched the reporter talking about the Spider and how he killed Flash Thompson.
“Sad to hear,” Johnny said.
“Flash wasn’t a good guy.” was all Peter told him. Johnny didn’t care about that but Peter was acting nonchalant about what the villain did. Part of him wondered why Peter was even watching the news.
“I think that the Spider is guilty for what he did,” Betty Brant said. “We haven’t heard from him since and the Spider was a well known villain who never harmed people. I know Flash had a way of targeting people when we were in high school so maybe he tried to fight Spider and Spider forgot his own strength. Wouldn’t be the first time the Spider forgot his own strength as others have been injured including Invisible Woman and Iron Man.”
“All speculation on some stupid villian who probably just went to Canada or something to avoid punishment,” Peter said rolling his eyes and shutting off the TV.
“He was a well known villain who killed someone,” Johnny explained.
“And he will have to live with that guilt for the rest of his life. I hope he burns for his crime,” Peter said feeling the guilt come back and taking him over. Peter went to their room leaving Johnny to wonder what happened to make Peter so angry with the Spider.
~
Peter couldn’t take it any longer. He needed to get out and help those on the street again. He knew that the people at F.E.A.S.T missed the help that Spider dropped off so he went out. The only issue was that the Human Torch found him. The hero growled at him as he pushed him into the wall holding him there.
“You think you can control the world,” Johnny told him, annoyed at the man.
“I think I can help out the little people who don’t have much cause of big shots like yourself,” Peter said, pushing the man away. They fought for a bit neither winning the battle both full of hate for the other. Peter was mad that a hero could do nothing but stand by while Johnny was mad at how a villain could kill an innocent. It wasn’t until Peter had knocked Johnny down and started punching him that Johnny thought he saw the end. He finally faded into nothingness as Peter pulled off the mask and saw Johnny beaten under it. He looked at his hands offended by what he did.
“I killed him,” Peter said, feeling a tear falling as he tore off his mask and held Johnny until the police dragged him away from his love. Peter knew he would be facing punishment.
~
Peter sat in the cell as Sue Storm came in looking upset. He didn’t want to talk to her but he knew he was going to be hearing whatever she said even if he didn’t talk.
“They are talking about putting you away for life,” Sue told him. “What you did, it hurt my family and I don’t understand how anyone could forgive you for your crimes?” Peter knew she was right. “Except Stark who found out that you accidentally killed Eugene Thompson and has been bargaining for a plea deal for you.”
“I should burn for my crimes,” Peter said. Sue was surprised by what he said.
“Peter, you are being given a fresh start. I suggest you use it to be a better man than who you were before. You did a lot to my family and you… what you did to Johnny is unacceptable. I hope that I never see you again Peter Parker, because you don’t deserve this redemption in my mind,” Sue told him. Peter agreed with her and when Tony Stark and Steve Rogers later showed up Peter told them as much.
“It’s a second chance. Those don’t come often,” Steve told him.
“I don’t want a second chance if he isn’t in my life,” Peter said.
“Maybe he will be one day,” Tony said.
“Not if he is gone,” Peter said. Tony and Steve looked at him feeling bad.
“Don’t you want to be the person that he would have wanted you to be?” Steve asked. The truth was Peter wanted to be that person. He wanted to make Johnny proud even if Johnny wasn’t there anymore to see him. He thanked them as he took their deal knowing he was doing it all for Johnny Storm.
~
Johnny woke in pain as he looked around the room to find Ben sitting next to him watching TV. Peter would normally be next to him if something bad happened. Peter should have been here. He went to move but it all hurt.
“Don’t move. You have a few broken bones and a few cracked ribs. Spider throws a mean punch,” Ben said.
“Peter?” Johnny asked.
“Left town and isn’t coming back,” Ben said. Johnny froze. Peter wouldn’t have left town. Not without a reason. “The kid decided he wanted to get back with some girl, Mary Jane I think, and left you while you were in the hospital bed passed out. Sue is pissed at him and I think I heard Reed talk about how he was planning his death.”
“Peter wouldn’t have left without telling me,” Johnny said but Ben’s response didn’t change nor did his sisters or brother-in-laws as they told him the same story. Spider was being released into the custody of the Avengers according to Sue who told Johnny he took a plea deal.
“The little shit beat you up and the avengers took him in as one of their own,” Ben grumbled.
“Changing the branding and not telling the public either,” Johnny said as he saw Spider-Man on the cover of a magazine. The hero who was once the villain Spider. Johnny wanted to give him a piece of his mind but Sue suggested against it.
“I talked with him and I’m shocked he took the deal. He was acting as if it was the wrong punishment for him,” Sue said. “I don’t know if he feels sorry or if he regrets what he did but he will be living with it for the rest of his life now.” Johnny didn’t feel bad for it but he knew he needed to heal. Spider would get what he deserved and Johnny hoped he could give him a word.
~
“I know the drill,” Peter said in the comm for the millionth time. Part of his rehabilitation was patrolling and helping out people which Peter enjoyed. He just was constantly reminded that he was being tracked. Peter sat on the roof. He had thrown himself into being a hero but part of him wished he could apologize to Sue for taking her brother or find Johnny’s last resting place. Sue made it clear what had happened. Peter knew what he did. He would live with that forever.
“Didn’t know they let you out unsupervised,” a familiar voice said. Peter turned looking at the human torch. Now he was being haunted again by the boy who stole his heart and buried it six feet under.
“Not in the mood,” Peter said.
“Don’t say you aren’t in the mood,” Johnny said.
“I rather not be haunted by my past today so leave,” Peter muttered knowing it wouldn’t work. It never did.
“You want me to leave?” Johnny said. “Golden comes from the guy who attempted to kill me.”
“Killed you,” Peter corrected the fake Johnny. That caused the human torch to stop. “Don’t you think I have enough regret Johnny without seeing you every waking moment knowing I killed you. That I could have stopped. I lost control and it's my fault. I took the deal because I knew you wanted me to be a better person but some days I wonder if maybe I should have just stayed in the cell and rotted away like the criminal scum I was.” Johnny didn’t say anything as Peter swung away from him leaving him to wonder what Spider meant.
~
“Spider thinks I’m dead,” Johnny told Ben. Ben was surprised. Ben, unlike Reed and Sue, did not know who Spider was, only that he was now Spider-Man. He didn’t know the whole story.
“The kid thinks he killed you?” Ben said.
“Knew my identity too,” Johnny said.
“Sue said he found out who you were but she never said anything else,” Ben said. Johnny was annoyed. He just wanted to call Peter and rant to him about his day but Peter was gone. He couldn’t find him. He was half-tempted to ask May but he figured it was best not to get her involved.
“I’m going for a walk,” Johnny finally decided to leave Ben and throw on his jacket heading to May’s. May was home when he got there as he knocked on the door. She smiled and let him in.
“Have you heard from Peter?” He asked. May shook her head.
“He disappeared a while ago right when you got into the hospital. No one knows what happened. I heard you got mugged on the street and Peter found you,” May said.
“You haven’t heard from him either?” Johnny said.
“The occasional letter with no return address. He doesn’t normally stop by. Haven’t seen him in a long while. He is somewhere in New York though. He mentioned going to one of his favorite spots last week to think.
“Ben told me he was at the hospital with me,” Johnny said.
“From Peter’s letter, I assumed you were dead. He doesn’t talk about you much that he just regrets not being the boyfriend you deserved,” May told him. Johnny felt bad. Peter was blaming himself for Johnny getting injured. He also wondered why Sue and Reed told him one story about Peter which was false and where was Peter really in New York. Johnny decided to try and hunt him down if it was the last thing he did. Peter would face him over what he did and would explain why he really left.
~
The gazebo was normally empty at night. Peter had asked to go to the park and he knew he was being watched. He didn’t know who was watching him tonight as he sat looking at the water.
“Nice night we are having,” Johnny said. Peter wanted to scream at his inner demons.
“Not really. I gotta get up to fly out tomorrow,” Peter said.
“I’m not mad at you for not being able to protect me,” Johnny told him.
“What are you even talking about?” Peter asked, frustrated with his inner demons. “You think this is easy. Moving on is easy for me. It’s not easy. I can’t move on and here you keep popping up at random places and haunting me as if I weren’t the one to cause you pain.”
“You did nothing wrong, Peter,” Johnny said.
“Bullshit. You are dead, stop haunting me,” Peter said, starting to walk but Johnny followed.
“Peter, I’m not dead,” Johnny told him. Peter stopped almost frozen. “I survived what happened to me and I came back to my boyfriend gone and my family lying to me and suddenly the guy who did this to me is out trying to become a better person, but the worst of it was when I woke up and my boyfriend wasn’t by my side.” Peter turned and grabbed Johnny’s hand feeling for a pulse and took a deep breath before dropping it.
“Sue will kill me if she knew we saw each other,” Peter said.
“Sue has no right to decide who I see and who I don’t see,” Johnny said.
“I got to go. You should leave before whoever is watching me calls your sister up,” Peter let him know before he ran off leaving Johnny wondering why Peter was being followed and by who.
~
Johnny got home with more questions than answers. He found Sue on the couch annoyed.
“You couldn’t leave well enough alone,” Sue told him.
“What do you mean?” Johnny asked.
“You saw him today,” Sue said, spitting venom when she said him as if Peter’s name shouldn’t be spoken in their house.
“He thought I was dead,” Johnny said. “You let him believe that. You pushed him away from me.” Sue was frustrated then.
“I didn’t push him away from you, I was protecting you from the man who hurt you. From the man who beat you to a pulp within an inch of your life. You want to know the truth. Your boyfriend was Spider and when he was found having hurt his boyfriend, I decided it was time to intervene and keep you away from the man who hurt you, because I care about you,” Sue was mad and Johnny couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Everything made sense now including Peter’s behaviors before the incident when he had more time on his hands.
“Peter is Spider?” Johnny said. ‘He will have to live with that guilt for the rest of his life. I hope he burns for his crime,’ Peter’s voice repeated in his mind. Johnny didn’t know why he never noticed it until that moment that Peter was guilty for his crime. He knew what he did was wrong and he felt bad. He felt bad for hurting Johnny.
“He is,” Sue told him. Johnny paused and walked out as Sue called for him. He turned to her and looked her straight in the eyes.
“I’m going to the Avenger’s Mansion. Don’t try and stop me because you will only upset me more,” Johnny said before turning back around and leaving.
~
Steve and Tony said it was a bad idea but Johnny didn’t care because he needed to talk to Peter. He needed to make sure Peter was okay. His boyfriend had been suffering for too long and now they needed to talk about everything. Peter was in his room which was messy like the room they had shared before Peter had disappeared and Sue moved Johnny back home.
“Peter,” Johnny said. Peter froze but turned not wanting to hear Johnny tell him that he was ashamed of him. This was the real Johnny. He could hear his heartbeat and he knew it was the same Johnny he onced lover and that probably hated him now. “Look I’m not mad. Sue finally told me everything and I know the truth now. I know how hard it's been for you. You had to live with this and pretend you were okay after you accidentally killed someone because you didn’t kill him on purpose. You never would have.”
“He was venom,” Peter said. Johnny froze. He knew about venom. For Peter to tell him this side of the story he knew that Peter really didn’t mean to hurt him. “He knew my identity but he promised not to tell. I thought I saw venom that night. I was a bit tipsy and because of that I accidentally killed Flash thinking he was venom. Then the other night I was so mad and you were there except I didn’t know and I punched too hard and I thought I killed you. I felt as if the world was getting me back for harming an innocent. Except it wasn’t because you were fine at the end and you came home. Well you came to a house. I ruined us just like I predicted.” Johnny sat next to Peter.
“You didn’t ruin us. I don’t trust you but I still love you. I don’t think I could ever stop loving you. I just don’t want you to blame yourself anymore because I am here for you if you need me. As a friend for now.” Peter nodded but didn’t say anything as they sat on his bed wondering if they would ever be able to trust each other again. Maybe they will with time or maybe they would never be together again. Whatever happened would happen though as they sat there in silence of the ruins of their relationship.

Part 48. I like Ariadne.
In short: Nico gets therapy from Dionysus. In this chapter, Nico takes a minute to talk to Dionysus’ wife, Ariadne. The rest of the story can be found on AO3, FanFiction.net and in Tumblr tags like Dionysus, Nico di Angelo, Fanfic etc.
This Might Be Crazy: Chapter 48: Rosemary Tea
I lit a small incense stick. The smell of pinewood filled my cabin. Just when I wanted to begin praying to get Ariadne’s attention, I already got it. One moment, I was in my cabin, the next I was on Olympus, looking out over a massive vineyard.
‘Nico di Angelo.’
I turned around. ‘The lady of the house, I assume.’
‘Yes. You called on me?’
Barely. ‘Yes. I, well…’ I shrugged. I wasn’t entirely sure. I didn’t think I’d get this far.
Ariadne put her chin up. ‘I can’t say I wasn’t expecting you one of these days. Why don’t we talk?’
I mean, that is what I had in mind. I nodded and she gestured that I could come into the palace.
Dionysus’ palace was big. It took a good twenty minutes to walk to a sitting room on the other side. In the meantime, Ariadne chatted about the decor for a bit. It was clear she had been responsible for most of it (it was way too stylish to be done by Dionysus).
We sat down in two comfy chairs, with a coffee table in between. Ariadne snapped her fingers. A pot of tea appeared. ‘Sorry for the long walk. The west flank of the palace is not under control by the headmaster, so I had to bring you there.’
Zeus. ‘Eh, I get it.’ So. Now that we sit and we’ve got tea, I was kind of curious about how you managed to live with Dionysus for thousands of years.
‘Lets get the obvious question of your mind: You are wondering how I managed to live with Dionysus for thousands of years.’
I nodded, a little perplexed, but mostly glad I did not have to open the conversation.
She poured out two cups of tea and picked up her own. ‘I don’t read minds or anything, it’s just what they always ask. The short version is that he helped me when I was going through a hard time, the same way he is helping you now. The difference is that he somehow fell in love with me.’ She took a sip of her tea. ‘And, after some more time, which he gave me, I felt the same way. Got married, stayed together, end of story.’ She picked up her cup. ‘Yet, you probably already guessed that there was more.’
‘Well, Yes. I would say that the support he gives you goes further than with me. He once, kind of accidently, told me about the bond.’
She nodded. ‘Accidently? Oh well. Yet, yes, we have a bond. I’d say it connects us quite well.’
‘Quite, quite well, I’d say. For thousands of years.’ I picked up my own cup. ‘Hephaestus told me Dionysus treated him like a regular human… or god, whatever. Like he was more than a tool or a piece of garbage. That is basically how my therapy works. ’
Ariadne nodded. ‘We share that sentiment, you, me and Hephaestus, among others. We feel like we are worth something. Like someone does care about us. That is how it made me feel.’ She looked at the ceiling for a second. ‘Cared for, and like I was finally free to do and go where I wanted, gods! That means something after constantly being bound to something, either my chambers in the palace, or the island, or the men I was with. I still don’t know how I did confinment for twenty years.’ Her expression soured. ‘I do know why I went with Theseus. It meant... a change of scenary, at least.’
I sighed and slouched in the chair a little. ‘Ah, yes, sons of Poseidon.’
She raised an eyebrow. ‘Sons?’
I looked up. She didn’t know? ‘I thought Dionysus would have told you. Anyway, I was in love with one of those too, once. He just wasn’t a piece of garbage about it. Did not abandon me somewhere, at least, or bully me for it. He might have been a little confused, but, you know. I get that. He seems confused about most things, actually.’
She shifted. ‘It must have been Percy Jackson.’
I took a sip. ‘Yes. And, eh, sorry.’ Didn’t want to rub it in your face. I wanted to ask what she thought of Percy, but maybe that wasn’t…
‘I do not have anything against Perseus Jackson, if you were wondering about that.’ She raised her eyebrows. ‘I think Dio has more problems with that than I do.’
‘I think you might just be right.’
She sighed. ‘Oh well. Yet, I did hear you were accepted like you are in camp, son of Poseidon as your first crush or not.’
‘I was! Camp overall is pretty accepting, actually, that is nice. They even learned to trust Hades kids. And idiots who fall in love with sons of Poseidon. It took a while, but they accept Annabeth now.’
She chuckled and pushed her hair out of the way. ‘So many more things are getting accepted these days, even amongst the gods. There is a shift in their behaviour. I don’t know what the trigger was, after thousands of years, but I am glad it is this way.’ She twisted a curl around a finger. ‘Sorry, entirely different subject, but how did your talk with the elder gods go?’
‘It was weird, but it went good enough. Over the last few days, I have heard less and less of the voices from Tartarus, and more and more from the voices of where the Elder Gods are.’
She smiled and nodded. ‘Luckily. You know, admitting the elder gods is a central part of becoming immortal. Because of previous lives, something, something, even the lord of the heavens is not really sure, I had to talk to them.’ She sighed. ‘Basically, part of me is also an older god, which meant that I was supposed to fill this role as a goddess right now.’ She rolled her eyes. I snickered. ‘I hardly understand what it means.’
I adjusted my jacket. ‘Still, that must be strange, though, to know that part of you is just…’ I waved my hands around. ‘Somewhere in superheaven.’
‘You get used to it.’
‘Still, it seems weird.’
‘To me, it seems weird that you visit the Underworld so often.’ She shuddered. ‘For me, it wasn’t a very good place. After I was killed, I was sent to Elysium. My father, king Minos, kept trying to control me and I missed Dio terribly. I would have chosen rebirth if Dionysus hadn’t taken me out of there.’
‘Oh yes, bringing people back to live, the thing he tells me is unhealthy to do.’
She gave me a mellow smile. ‘The difference is that he is immortal and you are not.’
Maybe. ‘Not yet. And I met king Minos, too. He was a nasty piece of work, sorry not sorry to say it. He tried to control me into his evil villian plans.’
‘I am not offended. He was a bad king, a bad husband to my mother and a bad father to his children.’
‘And a bad partner to raise the dead with.’
‘I am going to pretend I did not hear that.’
‘Thanks. Although my therapist is already aware of it.’ I took a sip. ‘Then we can both agree that he was a huge dirtwad.’
‘We quite certainly can. I still do not forgive him for marrying off my youngest sister to some old king who died not even a year later. She was then forced out of the palace to make room for the new king and queen, just so Minos could get the bridewealth payments.’
‘Oh yes, that is a very dirtwad thing to do.’ We both sighed.
Her expression grew dark. ‘I used to think my mother was better. She tried to protect her children, even Asterion. Yet, that was before she tried to take my labyrinth and use it against who I am. What she did a few years ago, raising it without my permission…’ she clutched her fist. ‘She had no business doing that and getting me wound up in it again. Before that, the labyrinth was a memory, safely far away from the human world. Now...’ She looked at her teacup.
I nodded. ‘Eh… my sister was the one who handled Pasiphae in that encounter. I think she is gone, now…’
‘She isn’t, Nico, and she never will. She harnesses too much power to just be gone.’
I fell silent for a second. ‘I think I believe that,’ I whispered.
‘I hope you do, but I also hope you don’t have to deal with her in your lifetime anymore.’
I was fifteen. On average, there was a lot of lifetime left to meet Pasiphae a second time. But I did not want to think of that right now.
‘If there is anything you take away from this, let it be that women in mythology, and not uncommonly men too, often fled, because the situation at home was chocking them.’ She had a flicker in her eyes, which suddenly left. She shook her head. ‘You probably don’t want to think of that right now. Say, have you ever tried this tea before?’
Now she was just trying to change the subject. I played along. ‘I recognise it. Rosemary?’
‘Yes! We grow it in the garden, actually, or better said, my garden. His garden is more or less... taken.’ She smiled again and looked out the window, at the vineyard that spread all around the castle.
‘Guess that makes sense.’
‘I wouldn’t mind more flowers. But hey, I knew what I was getting myslef in to, back when I moved here.’ We kept looking out the window. I noticed a few panthers lazily roaming about. Ariadne didn’t even blink at seeing them. Just a regular day in Dionysus’ palace, apparently.
‘I don’t know if I will tell Dionysus about this encounter.’
‘I think he already had a hunch it was going to happen, because I did. Bond and stuff.’ I nodded. ‘If you already told him you were in love with Percy… well, that is an easy link to me, I’d say.’
Maybe. Ariadne studied me, before she stood up. ‘If your finished, maybe you should get back. They might begin to miss you.
I looked up at the clock and jumped up when I saw it was already past eight. Ariadne telling me the clocks were mad and did what they wanted did not calm me down.
While we walked back to the mystic Zeus-free west flank, she said: ‘I am glad I could finally meet you. You seem like a nice, smart young man.’
‘Thanks. Eh, also, thanks for the talk and thanks for the tea. It was good tea.’
‘I’ll give you some. I am kind of proud of it, actually. It is one of the only teas that isn’t brewed by Demeter.’
A/N: My first draft of this felt clunky, it is better now. Still, I find it strange that it turned out the way it did. That Ariadne of all people is the goddess who keeps her distance for a bit, aside from the things she has in common with Nico.
As I said before: I need more Ariadne fanfiction I am being denied my RIGHTS the first hit when I google it is my own fanfic of two years ago and one chapter in Weezl’s drabble doc.
Legit, Ariadne is the ‘mistress of the labyrinth.’ Don’t know how RR missed that. Be prepared because this fact WILL come back in a later chapter.

Izumi woke with a gasp that had her bolting into a seated position. Her leg was throbbing in dull pain.
"Ow." She moaned out, it was not the worst pain she had had inflicted on her, but the tugging sensation on her skin was still painful.
"Ah good, you're awake." Recovery girl lightly exclaimed. Izumi just blinked at the younger than she was used to seeing  heroine, not really sure what she should say.
"I will visit your home every other day to finish healing you, Nezu agreed that having you walk here would put unnecessary strain on your wound." Recovery girl tells Izumi as she walks over with a set of crutches.
"Try not to walk around too much until we have the muscles healed. Nezu is waiting for you in the teachers lounge." The crutches are pushed into Izumi's hands, then Recovery girl disappears into her office.
With a sigh Izumi levered herself off the hospital bed, she felt sticky with sweat and couldn't wait to get back home to shower. The way to the teachers lounge wasn't very long in normal terms but to Izumi it felt like it took a decade.
Once she reached the door Izumi hesitated to knock. She had never been in the teachers lounge, but her obsessive need to know the layout of the building after the first time she had gotten lost pays off.
Taking a deep breath and shifting to be on her uninjured leg Izumi knocked, turning the knob at the same time.
"Dad, I can go home now." She called into the room, not really thinking.
"Just a moment, Izumi." She heard Nezu call back, along with the sound of gasps.
Once the door had fully opened Izumi saw that there were other people in the room, she winced and blushed a little at their looks of confusion.
The feeling of a paw patting her hip broke Izumi from her flustered thoughts.
"Let's head home, you need to get off that leg." Nezu said, further making the others in the room look more confused.
Izumi just nodded and awkwardly swung herself around to follow the stoat.
The walk home felt like it took forever for Izumi, her hands and armpits hurt from the crutches, and she couldn't put any weight on her injured leg because when she did the muscles burned.
Once home Izumi hobbled straight to the couch and flopped face down with a groan. Nezu gave a light laugh at her actions, his paws giving light clicks as the nails hit the tile.
"I saw you talking to two of the other examinees, were they people you knew before?" Nezu asked from the kitchen, Izumi had no doubt he knew she had and was just fishing for who they were.
Izumi groaned as she rolled over onto her right side.
"Yes. The one who helped me from under the rubble was Aizawa Shōta, he was my homeroom teacher, and underground pro hero EraserHead. His capture rates were in the ninety percent range, he was the best of the underground." Izumi had been so sure that he had been older.
"The blond one from in the hall was Yamada Hizashi, English teacher and pro hero Present Mic, he had a radio show where you could call in and ask for advice or anything else really. His capture rate was in the sixty percent, he had been more worried about civilians that if another hero was around he took care of them first. Really great hero when you match him up to someone like Endeavour or even All Might." Izumi had lost a lot of respect for the number one hero, she had still made herself look like a crazy fan girl before she had been rewound.
Nezu hummed at her assessment of the heros. "Well good thing that they both got enough points to enter the hero course."
Hearing that, Izumi pushed herself up a little. "Oh, well that's another change made." She whispered softly.
Nezu's ear twitched letting her know that he had heard her, without him even asking, she explained. "Aizawa was placed in general studies and then was moved to hero course after winning the sports festival."
"No one has ever done that before." Nezu said with just a little awe in his voice.
Izumi nodded, but then she had a thought. "With him doing that a boy from my year tried the same, he made it into the final round, but he lost to me when his quirk didn't work well on me."
By this point in their conversation Nezu had made his way to the couch and situated himself where her head had been. A soft pat to his own legs told Izumi he wanted to pet her, it had been something of an awkward bonding moment the first time it had happened.
Nezu was at heart still partly an animal, he had instincts that made him want to clean his young and cuddle with said young often.
The first time it happened, Izumi had been sprawled out on the couch. Nezu had entered the room and had taken note of the rats nest her hair had become and suddenly he was sitting by her head claws raking through her hair gently.
Both had been mildly surprised at Izumi going boneless as his nails scratched lightly on her skelp, it had become their preferred method of comfort over the last two years. As they both sat on the couch Izumi felt herself relax completely against her guardians legs.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. I made progress with the commission. Tamaki Keigo will possibly be released into my custody depending on your performance during the sports festival. Your education records had been made available to them, as well as the physiological assessment you went through regarding your teaching license." Nezu told her, Izumi felt somewhere between elated and nauseous that the commission was basing the welfare of a child on her performance.
"That's...good?" Izumi asked hesitantly.
"Un, if you medal then Tamiki will be allowed to have a psychological assessment from an outside source of my choosing, the phycologist will then decide who would be the better caregiver." Izumi doesn't deflate with the knowledge, but it makes her feel better that she doesn't have to place first.
"How are we sure that they won't just pay off the psychologist?"  Izumi asks, she wouldn't put it past the commission to do that.
"Ah, I will be picking the day of the assessment, there is also a very well worded contract that was signed by the president that any chance at bribery or cohesion would automatically put the pup in my care." Izumi smiled, she knew that Nezu would have thought of that, just she had felt better asking.
"We are gonna need a bigger house." Izumi says, Nezu's claws press a little harder on her skelp in his surprise.
"We only have two rooms here. You are going to get Hawks out of the commission, and from some snooping that I've done has led me to some rather disturbing things." Izumi has full faith that Nezu will have custody of the crimson winged hero the day after the festival.
She had been hiding something for Nezu that she hadn't been sure how to tell him, but she knew that he would do anything in his power to protect children.
"Endeavour's oldest son, in six years it's said that he dies in a training accident, he doesn't die, he runs away and becomes a villian that attacks my class. I recognized the burn patterns in some photos online." Izumi pauses, she's not really sure if it's her place to say anything.
"Also Endeavour bought his wife from her family after threatening them. His youngest son told me about it. Told me of the abuse that he and his family went through. I…I don't know what to do, I don't have enough evidence so I didn't want to bring it to you until then, but I think with the high probability of Hawks joining our family it would be better if we could plan for a way to house Endeavour's family too until something can actually be done, we could save Dabi, and Todoroki-san from being put in a mental hospital, and the maybe Todoroki-kun won't refuse to use half of his quirk, and I don't know…" Izumi rambles, she's a little nervous at telling Nezu before she has proof.
"So a bigger home? I think we will need a backyard if there will be more children." Izumi is dumbfounded at Nezu's simple shifting of his own plans. Izumi just stays where she is quiet and wide eyed.
Okame:
Izumi had been sitting at the coffee table doing some research on what Todoroki-kun had told her at the sports festival.
Most of her research wasn't the most legal way of doing things but her new dad had told her that sometimes bending and even breaking the law was better than doing nothing to help a person in need.
One of the things Izumi had hacked into was Endeavour's cloud, he kept a bunch of documents there as well as photos of his children.
None of the photos were happy, they looked to be progress photos, like the children were experiments.
The one that caught her attention was of a six year old boy. He has snow white hair, bright blue eyes that looked like they wanted to end whoever was on the other side of the camera.
The thing that really caught her attention was the beginning of nonreversible scars under the blazing blue eyes and starting to form a glazlo smile,  she knew those burns.
"Holy fuck!" She yelped at the realization that Endeavour's oldest son had become one of the worst villains she had ever met.
Snapping her laptop shut, Izumi backed away from it slowly, she was just gonna leave that all alone for now.

The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck: The Master of the Mississippi! or “How Much Satisfaction Can There Be?”
Tumblr media
Hello everybody. I’m back to the life of scrooge mcduck.. it’s been an eternity hasn’t it and that’s for a simple reason: I had other reviews to do, especially comissions, I kept pushing this back further and further as while I love this series i put my paid work ahead of any other projects, until Kev, i.e. the guy paying for most comissions out and out asked that this be done before I got to the rest of The Ride of the Three Caballeros. It’s also why I finally put a loose schedule in place, to keep projects from slipping so the MANY retrosectives and what not I have going can move along at a steady pace and I can slot in comissions easier, 5 bucks an issue or episode if your curious. So now things are a bit tider, i’ll try to have an installment of scrooge’s storied past up a week from now on, so keep an eye out for that, minus christmas week as I have something else planned Duck Comics wise. So with all that out of the way and any exposition able to be baked into the plot proper, we can FINALLY get back to the life and times of scrooge mcduck
PREVIOUSLY ON THE LIFE AND TIMES OF SCROOGE MCDUCK:
A Young Scrooge got his inspiration, his start and also scared the crap out of some asshole scooby do style. Also his sister Hortense was adorable. SO there’s that. But eventually with some inspriation from what he didn’t realize was a ghost, Scrooge decided to head to america to find his Uncle Pothole. So that’s where we left off, with Scrooge heading to
youtube
Since then as the scrapbook page explains, Scrooge has worked his way up the Missippi to Louieville, Kentucky... which is where Rosa lives, and it is not a concidence it’s set here as a result. But much like how the Marvel staff being in new york in the 60′s lead to that universe having it’s unique and vibrant New York setting that’s lasted to this day, sometimes a creator using where they live as the basis can lead to really great and intresting stuff and here he had a valid reason as Louieville was one of the main hubs on the Mississippi river and thus a massive boomtown.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not the kind of boom town I meant but I can never say no to boomtown. But yeah it’s not only a bustling hub usually anyway, but things are extra amped up given it’s Derby time. I mean the Kentucky Derby’s no steel ball run but what could be? So naturally the crowds are booming and scroogie is impressed. I mean he’s a 13 year old boy from a poor community in Scotland. This is huge to him. But he has no time to dawdle and asks the closest random gentleman where he could find his Uncle Angus, who was mentioned last time and is the one needed for this. The guy is genuinely helpful and points him to his uncle... but as I only noticed on this read through also uses a knife to swipe his bag by cutting the handle off. It’s part of why I admire this series so much: rosa snuck so many small background gags into the margins you can always find something new reading it or always get something fresh out of it.  We also meet Gyro’s grandpa Ratchet.
Tumblr media
I mean there’s no might about it. David Byrne is rich and he’s the delightful weirdo we all deserve and the autistic icon I needed.
Tumblr media
I have no context for this, I just figured searching David Byrne in Tumblr’s Gif Search would find something delightfully batshit in that way only hec an do and I was right.
So as the tweenager enters the gambling establishment, we find Uncle Pothole, whose playing poker with local asshole and tophat enthusiast Porker Hogg...whose name keeps tripping me up as I write this as he’s not the only pig named porker I know of but is far less memorable than this one
Tumblr media
He and Pothole are playing cards, and while Porker can go on for days he can’t go on for eight weeks.. or even two days really and prepares to finish it. He puts up his boat the Dilly Dollar, which Angus takes offence to since Porker sank his. Angus offers up the location of the Dreenan White, a legendary, and real legend at that, riverboat that sank. Since Angus was a Cabin Boy on the boat, he knows where it is. So the final hand is dealt and Angus wins with five aces, mostly because Porker’s ace ejector jammed. When Scrooge questions if this is dishonest, Angus explains their under riverboat captain rules which basically means you can cheat your ass off and it’s not only expected it’s an insult NOT to. So Angus takes Scrooge with him, seeing the boy as a good luck charm and finding out to his shock Scrooge is his nephew, but gladly takes his newly found relation under his wing as he relates to his coming to america to find his fortune, having done the same.
Angus is the first of Scrooge’s many mentors and easily the best part of this chapter. He’s lively, intresting but a contrast to scrooge, someone whose not AFRAID to work but wouldn’t mind an easy victory or giving up the adventure game, as he ends up doing. He’s a lively, clever guy and very charming. I”ll get back to the mentor part of it in a bit, but needless to say in a chapter that i’ll admit, and get more into the why as we go, is not one of life and time’s better chapters, he’s a highlight.  So the two get to the Dilly Dollar while Hogg decides to follow to find where the Dreeynan Whyte is. As for why he hasn’t drudged it up Angus simply can’t as the Mighty Missisippi’ s too muddy for that, making another mark twain quoted joke about it. But Scrooge mentions the clarity pills from Ratchet, meaning he has a way to do so, and Angus is now elated and decides to head there to get his fortune, specifically near Monkey’s Elbow kentucky, which while relocated slightly to fit the story, is a very real town and an objectively great name for a town, much like Forty Fort, which is also a very real town name. Hogg overhears and after being literally booted out of the boat, as we’ll see literal asskicking is a McDuck family staple, goes to recruit some hired goons.
Tumblr media
Yes hired goons, as every good villian needs some hired goons. And these specific goons.. are a bit.. familiar. And you’ll find out who they are under the cut!
Tumblr media
Yup it’s the Secret Origin of the Beagle Boys. And if your wondering “Wait are they immortal too?” well. their not these are their grandpas. Also Hogg’s whole complaint about “wearing them if there yellow” just.. bugs me. They .. they aren’t cowards.. Grandpappy’s just being smart and knows his sons are excessively dumb, as is family tradition. They have no issue with committing crimes, they just don’t want to be arrested by the first Navy boat that finds them. That’s just.. common logic. This is one of Life and Time’s weaker atrributes: Due to being built around barks stories, that means most of his foes here are the random greedy asshats of the week Scrooge faced who had some loophole to his fortune or the grandparents of said assholes. With the exception of hte Beagles, who show up a few times, Glomgold and Soapy Slick who wihle a minor vilian is at the center of one of the best chapters of the story, most of these guys are just forgettable hooligans. Not terrible, and the stories around them are good enough to make it enjoyable but nothing really distinct from what Scrooge normally faced outside of his origin story. Really Barks was simply stronger at STORIES than he was at creating villians: As Magica, The Beagle Boys, Gladstone, Rockerduck and Glomgold all show he wasn’t untalented at it, it’s just more often than not he fell back on some random asshole.
Tumblr media
Instead of using a dedicated Rogue’s Gallery of intresting baddies, most writers of most comics just used villians of the week and maybe ONE OR TWO designated hitters. Batman’s Rogue’s gallery wasn’t big enough to form their own country at this point is what i’m saying, it just meant Rosa had to build more vilians of teh week. It dosen’t drag the story down entirely, as the story is about SCROOGE and his growth: sometimes the villians are just a secondary ingrident in a good story. But it’s still something very noticable and one of the weaker parts of the story, it’s just like I said, with the story being more on Scrooge and where a lot of his personality came from, it’s something I really didn’t notice before and really dosen’t bother me now I have. The villians are weak btu the hero is so intresting and grows so much it just dosen’t matter. Their there to provide Scrooge with opportunites to evolve, and the really good ones are saved for the best moments of that and for when a villian IS needed to change scooge as a person. So it all evens out.
So naturally the next day when the McDucks head to get the pills, Hogg’s beat them to it, and when Ratchet refused to cut cards for his stock had them beat Ratchet while they were at it. Though oddly Angus assumes he’s just passed out while Scrooge is the one to recognize someone knocked him out. You’d think a well experienced guy like Angus would know that eh whatever. Point is Hogg is ahead and Angus dosen’t have a crew... though Scrooge and Ratchet naturally volunteer since both have skin in the game: Scrooge wanted a job with Pothole anyway and Ratchet is out a job and out his pills. Angus gladly takes them on.. but accidently sets the Dominos in place for one of Comics!Scrooge’s worst behaviors down the line.
Tumblr media
Yeahhh.... Pothole is partially responsible for Scrooge criminally underpaying his staff and family. That gag.. is easily one of , if not my least faviorite part about Rosa’s work. It’s a holdover from Carl Barks work naturally, and one that makes some sense: Rosa set his work shortly after barks, so some time in the 1950s, having barks works take place around when they were written. There isn’t a strict timeline of what happened which year outside of life and times, but Rosa’s works are delieberate period pieces. That’s not a bad thing and if he’s going to base most of his stuff around stuff Barks did, then it’s a good call to make.  The issue is the execution: While with Barks it was in part because there was less income inequality, it was also clearly a bit of satire, as Donald was the every man and companies could be unfair, cheap douchebags then as they are now. IT feels more like a joke on Scrooge. Donald still puts up with a lot of stuff, but he’s more liable to complain. In the Rosa stories.. it feels more like he just makes Donald the butt monkey and it dosen’t play well as.. Donald dosen’t want to be there. He has every RIGHT not to want to be there as he’s not being paid a decent wage, not being compensated in any other ways, and could be searching for a boss who actually pays him a living wage. Donald is more the victim in Rosa’s stories but he simply doesn’t realize this, or the fact it’s even worse since Donald is you know RAISING THREE CHILDREN AND SCROOGE KNOWS THIS BUT DOES NOT PITCH IN ONE EXTRA CENT.  So already without even adding the decades on, it hasn’t aged well.. but add in the modern day business where it’s a STRUGGLE to get states to raise minimum wages, the job market was hit horribly even BEFORE Corona came and made things worse, and companies horribly abuse their employees to ludcirous extremes such as time crunch in the video game industry, black friday in retail and of course the house of nightmares that is the amazon warehouse, and I say that being a frequent use of amazon.. just because I rely on a company dosen’t mean I have to LIKE doing so in any way shape or form.
What i’m saying is Scrooge’s actions were already bad, making this joke fall flat, but it comes off as downright unfunny after all of that. Even given the times Scrooge was raised in it’s just not a funny gag that “oh ha ha a 70+ year old man ever learned right from wrong when it came to paying his family or workers”. It just paints scrooge in the worst light possible as man who never grew, in at least one aspect, from being a goddamn tweenager and is easily one of the weaker moments of an otherwise epic and well crafted saga, and as i’ve said of Rosa’s exemplary work as a whole.
Anyways the race is on and with the DIlly Dollar gaining on Hogg’s Cotton reiver witch, Hogg has them ram into the boat and flip it over. And no i’m not descrbing a sex act. In a show of competence while Blackheart Beagle’s actions send them close to the falls too he just uses the dilly dollar as a ramp. We also get a really cool flipped over panel as our heroes are waterlogged. A snag boat shows up, I assume it removes snags and dangerous objects and complains about rescuing them. .even though CLEARLY they had some kind of accident. It’s.. never a good look to complain about having to save someone’s life or livelyhood unless that someone is Tucker Carlson. Then it’s ABSOLUTLEY okay to grumble a bit about having to do the right thing.
So after a quick gag we’re introduced to a chekovs gun as a massive tree sprouts out of the river and spooks Scroogey.. and Angus who explains it’s a “sawyer”, something that happens when a dead tree falls in a river.. sinks in.. and then can rise right back up suddenly, violently and boat destroyingly.
Tumblr media
So our heroes head on and find the location and Angus dumbly assumes that Hogg, who had a clear start is just lost.. and not you know lurking in the bushes watiting to strike. And strike he does as he once again rams hard and long into the Dilly Dollar, leaving it on a sandy shore. Schwing. Our heroes are landlocked but Hogg, just to earn himself a dare to be stupid award, gives the Beagles their deed, and tells them theirs diving equipment. You can take a wild guess what happenes next.
Tumblr media
Angus understandably laughs at his misfortune because it’s funny.. and Hogg responds by dropping him down a well. Before Scrooge can raise a benefit concert to send his love down a well, Angus asks Scrooge to join him instead.. and soon we find out why as the Beagles only find a wrecked town. Turns out thats where Monkey’s Elbow WAS, and they build the new town near it.. with the farm Angus ended up at being where the wreck is now.
Our heroes explore the wreck which honestly, looks really damn impressive, a muddy destroyed riverboat hauntingly beautifully lit by candle light, which Scrooge is holding naturally. I may of had my criticisms for Rosa this chapter, and I will again, but it’s moments like this that reinforce that the man is still one of the best comic book artists i’ve ever seen and knows how to beautifully meld his art with storytelling.
Speaking of which our heroes find the safe with the money. Angus is ritch but Scrooge.. dosen’t get how he can be happy. Scroogie questions “How much satisfaction can there be in having your life’s fortune handed to you? “ It’s easily the best moment of the chapter.. while it’s only two panels before we get to Angus moving things right along... it really speaks to Scrooge’s character. Even as still a naive boy from Glasgow... his whole life has been hard work, effort working your way up. To just.. LUCK into fortune like this baffles him. To be satisfied with that and not seem to have any amibation to use it to go further, to make more of yourself. To be more. While he hasn’t quite got his love for adventure yet, we’ll get there next time, even now there’s a hunger inside him, a desire to not just get rich, that’s all fine and good.. btu to have EARNED IT. To truly feel like he made his way.
And it perfeclty makes sense with his background: Scrooge was raised with nothing, and found out at the start of the story his family had lost everything, a once glorious clan reduced to a poor starving family on the edge of Glasgow. To him it can’t just be about getting Money.. he wants to bring his clan back. To make his family happy and proud. To make sure his father’s faith as the last of their line wasn’t misplaced. He has a lot of expectation on him and that’s bred his character. Angus.. just sorta left at a young age and has been incommuincado. He dosen’t really care about family or legacy.. not that I don’t think he would’ve sent some money back to buy the castle, I just think he was never that concerned with his family’s legacy like Scrooge despite coming from a similar cloth. He wanted the money, but Scrooge cares about the money.. and his family. It’s what anchors him. What keeps him from his worst impulses and keeps him grounded.. for now anyways but that’s a ways off. Point is it really speaks to Scrooge’s character.
But soon the beagles find our heroes, and a fight breaks out.. and naturally even without years of experince yet, Scrooge is still a McDuck and while previously his fighting was based on ingunity.. this time the little runt’s just out for blood and suprises the beagles with a clump of mud and then beating the shit out of them. When one of them tries to respond by wacking him with a piece of wood... he instead breaks a collumn and with the dreenan unable to handle the mud without it... the place starts to collapse. However our heroes don’t make it out unschathed as the Beagles capture them and the gold... for some reason. Seriously Scrooge dosen’t fight back or anything nor does angus they just.. let hte beagles overpower them. WHen Scrooge fully fought the grown ass men just a few mintues ago. What the actual hell.
But we do get another Badass Scrooge Moment, as once hteir on the ship, Scrooge mentions another treasure.. which baffles Angus despite you know.. the boy clearly playing at something. Yeah whlie I do like Angus.. he can be grating in parts and here he just comes off REALLY stupid. But after being tortured by running on a boat, with the beagles mistaking Angus’ genuine confusion for being a bastard man, which naturally their impressed by, Scrooge fessses up.. and you can see exactly’s coming.. the sawyer raises the boat into the air and harpoons it. The beagles try to play off the port authority but scrooge unmaks those “infamous beagle boys”.. and thus names one of his greatest threats. Blackheart vows revenge while our heroes go for a sasparillia..though Scrooge keeps the money.. as he says the memory of that adventure is worth more than anything. As for the Gold, the goverment took it back, but did give them a reward, and Angus only dosen’t give Scrooge a share because he’d have to refloat it, but offers him a job and the dollar in two years at a bargin price. Alls well that ends well. A truly poetic way to end the chapter and prepare scrogoe for the next... TO BE CONTINUED...
FINAL TH...
Yeah.. as you probably know this is NOT the end of the chapter. Instead we go on for a bit more. And a few more pages would’ve been fine, to help bridge the gap.. we see scrooge get the Dollar at a bargin price as his uncle promised, though the deal turns out to be a bit of a lemon as the riverboat industry has dried up. But then.. we get a couple page adventure with the beagle boys, where the beagles try to steal the goverment gold scrooge is transporting, Ratchet helps him escape, and we DO get the utterly badass image of scrooge driving the boat onto land and it exploding and causing a massive flood> While that is awesome.. the pacing just takes a huge hit and it’s easily why this chapter is one of my least faviorite. It probably would’ve been better if they just had a passage of time montage of events at the start of the next chapter and ended on that bit before.. but instead it just goes on a bit and really tries my patience every time as instead of moving on to a bold new adventure.. we just get some filler to help pad things out so Rosa can get it to the right page length. I don’t blame him, sometimes shit happens, but it dosen’t make it any more fun to read.  So the Dollar is scrapped and Scrooge is back at the bottom with barely a cent to his name. But he’s resolute: since the river boating days were winding down anyway he’s going west to become a cowboy, and heads off on the Wabash Cannonball as a fireman, i.e. the guy who stokes the engines, to make his way there. So we end our story for now and again.. this would’ve been much better condensed but whatever. We’re finally done.
Final Thougts
As you could probably tell but I saved for here, and I outright even said this is one of my least faviorite chapters and one of the weakest if not the weakest. Part of it is the structure issue I mentioned, but the other part is it just.. isn’t as intresting at least to me personally. The rest of life and times have pretty unique stories that while not removed from genres Scrooge stories have covered, use the story of his rise to make them really pop as we slowly see how the iconic Scrooge we know became the legend and what shaped him that way. Here while we get bits of that, it’s mostly just a standard uncle scrooge story but with him as a kid. It’s not a BAD one, it dosen’t drag the whole of life and times down and it’s servicable but it just feels a bit more standard for Rosa’s work. Still enjoyable, but nothing really spectacular like the next two chapters. On it’s own or as one of the side stories it would’ve been fine but as part of this huge sprawling masterpiece, it’s just a bit underwhelming and just makes me eager to get to the next part every time rather than really suck me in as much as the others. Again the pacing dosen’t help with that and only makes it drag further. It just dosen’t have the weight the other ones do character wise and as such just makes me want to get to part 3 already, which naturally that story within a story dosen’t help with. Overall while not a bad comic, I don’t think any part of life and times is truly bad, it’s still not a GREAT comic like what’s to come or what came just before.
NEXT TIME ON LIFE AND TIMES: Scrooge heads out to the wild wild west.. though instead of a giant mechanical spider he fights some cattle rustlers and meets Teddy Roosevelt HELL. YES.
Until then, happy holidays and later days!

thinking about...me + the ua class going to the mall or smthing and some villain is doing some wack shit or something...we have our provisional licenses so we engage but her quirk is like, being able to broadcast people’s greatest fears or some shit and we mostly get civilians out of the way while we wait for the pros, but i get hit with her quirk and suddenly everyone in the room can see what’s inside my head and ,,,,
tw: death/trauma/blood/fire (not really graphic but)
ismkkdsm idk man just,,, my boys just seeing how afraid i am of loosing them and how much it scares me that they’ll leave me,,,mr. aizawa seeing a projected form of himself call me a failure,,, katsuki + kiri watching a dream-like image of them laughing at my crying form as they ask me why i would ever think we would love you? you’re useless, charlie. you can’t even keep your feelings straight, fucking sl*t, what? you think we would want to date a wh*re like you?
todoroki seeing himself as the #1 hero, but it’s wrong because he looks like his father and i’m there but i look so hollow and he knows it’s because i’m afraid that trying to become the #1 will strip him of his humanity.
izuku watching his dream-form fall to the ground, all for one killing him in hundred of different ways and i’m screaming, so so much because i don’t - i can’t handle the pain of loosing him and iida watches me face him in battle and i have to beat him, because he’s killed people, but i love him like a brother and
there are other fears, too, ones that feature all too familiar faces: there’s two of dabi, one of him laughing, his flames flickering as he burns a city to the ground, and another of me clutching his lifeless body, he’s just a kid.
red feathers whip around another version of me, as i beg hawks, please, just listen, we can get you safe, i promise- and he’s there again, but his wings are in the grip of a nameless foe, who pulls and pulls and hawks is screaming.
and eri disappears into purple mist, and there’s, mirio, bleeding and there’s so much blood, and hes holding tamaki’s hand but his eyes are so dim and tamaki is sobbing, but he’s dying now too- and there are bodies everywhere, and it’s all myfaultmyfault you did this charlie it’s your fault
- and the pros arrive, and all they see is me, and i’m just sobbing on the floor and everyone else looks so horrified, and theres really nothing they can do -
fatgum picks me up and all i can do is sob because i can see him and hes dead, they all are.
momo tries to explain what happened to the police, but she can barely get it out through her sobbing - because she’s just seen herself die a thousand ways and she can still hear my screams of her name, and she’ll wake up for nights after words in a cold sweat, my begging for her to keep her eyes open, come on momo stay with me ringing in her ears -
midorya is still making sure the civilians are okay, but his face is wet with tears and he tries to smile, but it hurts.
they won’t let anyone into my hospital room because the quirk hasn’t worn off yet and there’s nothing they can do. i lay there for three days, seeing my friends die over and over and over again, and i loose my voice after the first day but the doctors and nurse will never be able to forget the screams, the begging for it to stop.
i wake up from forced sleep, and the quirk is gone, yes, but. can still see them.
bakugou is the first to see me, and he can’t even get out a word before he’s clutching me to his chest, so, so tight and he calls me a dumbass but i know what he means is that he loves me and, he won’t let me go until kiri bursts into the room, panting because the elevator was full so i took the stairs, but we’re on the ninth floor. and then kiri is telling me he loves me and he’s crying and then katsuki is crying, but shut up shitty hair, no i’m not, and i love them so much, and i can barely get a word out but they know, they know. todoroki comes later, and he’s calmer, but he sits in the hospital bed and holds my hands and he kisses me and he brought me soba, because i must be hungry, and i laugh, golden dream-dust falling from my hair, the dust is produced by my quirk but it still makes todoroki sneeze as it gets on his face and i laugh at his face and i’m happy, because i love them, but i also hate soba so i just force him to eat mine and he protests, but hospital food is actually pretty good so i just eat my jello and yeah, we’re broken, but it’s okay because we’re broken together
the dekusquad shows up on my last day in the hospital, and deku apologizes so much because he’s late but it’s okay because they’re there and iida is awkward, and it’s okay because tsu makes me laugh about how she’s glad mineta wasnt hanging out with us that day, otherwise he’d be complaining about how he didn’t feature in my fears and, yeah, that is funny.
i wake up at home to a rapping on the window, red wigs blocking out the light from the streets, and somebody recorded the whole thing i guess and the police confiscated it, but the commission thought it would be good to prepare hawks if he had to encounter this villain, and he’s crying now because he’s so sorry, kid, i wish i could’ve been there, could’ve protected you, you shouldn’t have to see that, and i’m just hugging him because yeah, i have an inkling of his involvement with the lov but i still love him and i just want him to be safe, and he’s crying in his dumb way and i fall asleep a few hours later, his wings covering me as he hums in a way that reminds me of a songbird.
i go back to school, and mirio and tamaki stop me before class and they hug me and they don’t know exactly what happened but they can see the way i tremble when i walk, something usually well hidden, and mirio is smiling and tamaki is so red when i tell them i love them but i do.
the room is silent when i get into class - the people who weren’t there already know what happened, and i sit at my desk - up front, in the middle, because that’s the only row with five desks - and i try to smile and everyone is quiet at first but denki comes over and he wraps his arms around me, and he was there, but he and jirou were off in a different store and he’s sorry that they weren’t there to help, but it’s okay i tell him, it’s okay, and then the whole class is in tears, and if mr. aizawa doesn’t quiet us down when class starts, instead waiting for everyone to settle down on their own, then nobody says anything. he pulls me aside before english, which is fine because i really should be taking japanese classes instead, and his gruff voice seems softer, and yeah, he can be tough but you’re a good kid charlie, and you are not, and will never be a failure. what ever you do with your life, i will always be proud of you and i’m crying a little bit and he hugs me and yeah, you know what, maybe a family can just be an exhausted dad and his twenty one dumb kids, and i’ve never felt more at home and if i start to call him dad on accident, and he doesn’t correct me, then that’s nobody’s business but mine, and i’ve got bigger things to deal with.
it’s night when dabi shows up, i’m at the pharmacy refilling my prescription and he pulls me aside as i’m coming out, his hands surprisingly gentle as we walk a few blocks away, and i’m not afraid - not of him. and he doesn’t say much but the league found the villian and yeah, we’re supposed to be enemies but if tomura let toga have a bit too much time with her, then maybe he was just feeling generous. and it’s dumb, yeah, because we’ll have to fight eventually, and no one is going to pull their punches, but no body would think that dustyhands_8 was anything but my online friend, and so what if we play minecraft together? it’s not like we put our beds together or anything.
just,,,i love my dumb chaotic family

Riverdale 4x19 Finale Review/Analysis
First off I’d like to apologise for how late this review is I had written all but the last part but then was dealing with some family stuff so its a bit later than usual. But anyway here it is my review/analysis for the season 4 finale. Despite them having to reschedule everything so that this was the season finale when it clearly wasn’t suppose to be I still actually really enjoyed this episode. However that said there were some things that, well I guess you could say they didn’t quite sit right with me but overall I think this was one of the better episodes of the seasons. I don’t have as much to say about this episode as I do feel like it was a bit of a filler episode but I figured we could still go through the episode and talk about the things I liked, the things I didn’t but also what clues might have been left for us. I’m also going to give some theories and predictions for season 5 based on some of the interviews I’ve read since watching the episode. As always these are just my own opinions its fine if you disagree and of course there are spoilers.
No Seriously Though Who Is The Voyeur?
So to kick things off I figured we could talk first about the video tapes and again who I think the voyeur is. Well I’m sticking to my theory that it’s Donna accompanied by a group of lackies. Yeah I know I’ll die on this hill. The episode starts out similar to the one before with Charles, Betty and Jughead watching the re-enactment of Jason Blossoms murder. Just as a quick tangent here but can we have a shout out for the casting team because seeing all three of them side by side really brought out the resemblance between them, like Charles looks so much like both Betty and Jughead like I can fully believe that Charles is brother to them both. Any way back on track, during this scene all three of them ask some very good questions. Charles asks why the escalation now and could it be a warning. Betty suggests that maybe its a pratice run for an actual murder. (This is actually something I suggested myself when the first re enactment was shown and I said that Donna and the stonies might have filmed it as a practice run for Jughead’s actual murder.) Jughead also makes a suggestion saying it seemed like the voyeur was trying to blur the lines between fact and fiction. This I think might be a clue to who the voyeur might be. I also think its more evidence to support my theory. Fiction makes me think of writing and story telling, when we first meet Donna its at Stonewall Prep where she is part of a writing seminar. In my opinon from the way these videos are set up it seems to me that the person sending out the videos isn’t just a voyeur but a storyteller too and Donna fits this bill. We know that she is a writer so thats a check for the storyteller, and by her own admission she watched the tapes Bret was making of the other students at Stonewall so thats the check for a voyeur. Also all of the re-enactments can be linked back to Jughead in some way. Obviously the first one shows Jughead’s would be murder with Betty killing Jughead with a rock, the Jason Blossom one I talked about in my last review and how Jughead had based his first Baxter Brothers draft on his murder, Midge’s death can also be linked to Jughead as he filmed the whole Carrie BTS thing and so was actually the one who (accidently) recorded Midge’s original murder which the voyeur then watched and used for the re-enactment. The latest one depicting Mr Honey’s murder can obviously be linked back to Jughead as its his story. In an interview RAS said that the voyeur had very personal reasons for what they were doing and well we know that Donna is holding a grudge against Jughead. The other thing that is interesting is that there are several references to Stonewall, the Stonies and that plotline throughout the episode. The first is when Jughead says getting into Iowa could be a way to make up for the Stonewall hell, then during his story they all wear Stonewall jackets and the infamous bunny masks, there is another reference when during the story the two boys in the locker room are talking about rumours that Mr Honey had an affair with a student, I mean a false accusation of an affair with a student made against a dead teacher, hmm that sounds familiar. Of course I do think this is a reference to Donna and the story she made up about her and Mr Chippens in an attempt to cover up his murder. Also the story line of a group of teenagers commiting a murder and then murdering one of their friends when they get cold feet is the same as the Stonewall plotline where the others murdered Jonathon because they were afraid he was going to tell. The last reference comes from Mr Honey when he says hes going to be the new principal at Stonewall. I don’t think its a coincidence that just as things a heating up in the storyline with the tapes they are now starting to drop more references to Stonewall and by extention Donna, I think these might be clues left by the writers. Of course I could also be barking up the wrong tree.
So who else are my main suspects for who the voyeur could be? Well RAS said this in an interview about the voyeur.
Tumblr media
So we know from this that the voyeur’s primary motive is a personal vendetta but we also know that on some level they are also interested in how trauma has changed the town and the kids in it. So now we just need to figure out who fits this criteria. I do think its going to be a character that we have already met because its too late in the game to introduce a new character or have it be someone we don’t know as it would be very anitclimatic if that did happen.
Ok so unfortunately my boy Charles could fit this description. As much as I love him he does have a very personal reason to have a grudge against the town. It is very possible that he is angry that he was given up for adoption but also that Alice, when he came looking for his family, shut the door in his face. He could also be angry specifically at Betty, Jughead and also even Archie and Veronica as he could consider them responsible for getting Chic (his lover) arrested. It also wouldn’t be a reach for Charles who due to being an FBI agent has a very inquisitive mind and an investigative nature to be interested in how his birth town became corrupt and what trauma can do to kids especially if he on some level is trying to figure out why he was given up for adoption and why he was later turned away by his family. Maybe he wants to know if it was because of the town’s sickness and the darkness of the people in the town. It could also be him looking into whether he too has been twisted, afterall we know that he was raised by the Sisters of Quiet Mercy and who knows what kind of an effect that has had on him, so he could be trying to learn about his own darkness too. I personally, as I’ve said before, don’t want them to go this route. I just, one, feel like it would be way to predictable, it wouldn’t shock me at all. Two, they’ve done the whole evil brother earns the family’s trust then turns out to be a phychotic killer with Chic. I don’t want or need to see that storyline again, like please please Riverdale show me something new. I just think it would be more interesting to go the secret FBI agent route where he is manipulating the villians to take them down than the he’s evil one.
Another of my suspects I’ve also spoken about before is Terry the Ticklemaster. This one I’m less sure on and is based mostly on the fact that I just think he’s really suspicious and we know that he works with cameras. I’m unsure on what his personal vendetta could be as we don’t have enough information about him to know. However I could see how as a film maker he might also be interested in human behaviour so might also be interested in how the trauma effects Riverdale and its kids. To be honest I think its more likely that he is helping the voyeur than him actually being the voyeur.
Suspect number 3 is Evelyn. I know she’s been in prison but she could be using the hypnosis she’s put on some of the farmies like she did with Polly and Alice to get others to do her bidding. Kind of like she’s the puppet master. As for what personal reason she could have well she could blame all those in Riverdale who used to be with the farm and who now aren’t, like Alice, Fangs, Kevin, Toni and Cheryl for abandoning the Farm and also Betty for the fact that she has been arrested and her husband has been killed. Also we know the Farm used people’s darkness to manipulate them into joining the cult so its possible that she would have a dark, twisted interest in how trauma is infecting the town.
Mr Honey could also be another possibilty. I know they kinda painted him as being the good guy at the end of this episode but I still haven’t forgotten about him visiting the red suite or other questionable behaviour such as wrecking Reggie’s car and being manipulative with Kevin and Reggie in the halloween episode. He also seems to have a weird vendetta against the students. Also his whole speech about trying to prepare them for the outside world because Riverdale isn’t normal makes me think that maybe he is sending the tapes to force these kids to look at their past traumas and understand how the town has a darkness and a sickness, a way of forcing them to see how dark they’ve become themselves and how wrong it is. Also weirdly the fact the show is trying to show him as a good guy makes me more suspicious of him. Of course all of this is provided he wasn’t the one being murdered at the end of this episode which I will discuss in a bit.
Another option is Ethel. I mean poor Ethel has been mixed up in some pretty messed up situations. She’s got alot of reasons to be angry at the town. I mean there was the whole thing with Chuck in season 1, then in season 2 she was sending those threatening letters about Cheryl pretending to be the black hood in the Carrie episode, season 3 was the G&G plotline and she ended up with the sisters, now in season 4 we find out she is mixed up in the red suite where they had homemade sex tapes and snuff films. Plus she had that line about making it out of Riverdale in one piece which suggests that she recognises that the town isn’t normal and had a traumatic effect on the kids. Out of all of them though I think she’s the least likely.
Ok this one is a little more out there but when going over the footage of the Honey Murder I did notice that the woman in the Betty mask does look to have blonde hair. It is a little hard to tell though because of the low quality and the lighting. But if they did have blonde hair who do we know who might have an issue with Riverdale. Well I think it could be Polly. We haven’t really heard from her since the beginning of the season so we don’t know for sure if she is still at Shady Grove or not. Also she’s got plenty of personal reasons to be doing this. Her fiance and father of her twins was murdered by his own father, FP hid the body, her own Father tried to force her to have an abortion before with her mother’s agreement she was locked up with the Sisters. Then she is taken in by blossoms only to find out that she was having her cousin’s babies and that the blossoms were only helping her so they could get the babies. Her dad turns out to be a serial killer. Then she ends up joining a cult, gets a bomb strapped to her chest and then ends up locked up in a mental hospital. She’s been deeply affected by the darkness of the town and more specifically Jason’s death. His murder has been brought up alot this season this could be in preparation of revealing the voyeur to be Polly getting revenge for Jason’s murder.
Ok please forgive me for this one, I’m really hoping this one isn’t true but the thought did pop into my mind so. But I realised that the two videos found at the Red Suite, the Jason Blossom murder and Midge’s have something in common. They were both pieces of footage that were handed into the Sheriff’s Department. More specifically they were handed in when Tom Keller was Sheriff. Now I’m not suggesting that its Tom but rather Kevin. We know that Kevin was one of the first people to see the footage of Jason Blossom being murdered. He was also in charge of the Carrie production and I feel like he felt alot of responsibility for what happened to her. It’s also not unreasonable to assume he might have been able to get hold of those two pieces of footage through his Father he could have snuck in and stolen them. We also know he knows how to use a camera as we saw him filming for Alice in episode 15. Also Kevin has gone through alot of crap the last couple of years and I think his speech to Mr Honey in the musical episode is very telling of his mental state right now particularly how he talked about how he felt numb but was screaming on the inside. Also in the beginning of the season when he was talking to Betty and Charles he said he had felt alone all summer after leaving the Farm. Maybe these tapes are his way of getting the anger out. Also he was in prime position to get his hands on Jughead’s story about Mr Honey. It was Kevin who came and told Jughead and Betty that Mr Honey was looking for them. Its during this scene that we see Jughead leave his pages on the desk. Its possible that Kevin then went in there and took the pages. However although I don’t watch Katy Keene I am aware that apparently Kevin was on that show and that its set 5 years in the future I believe. I did see one clip where Kevin is talking about how he is still in Riverdale and that he works at Riverdale high. But if he were involved surely he would be in jail. But its possible that he was either hypnotised by Evelyn, the group  find out he’s involved but the authorities don’t, he’s sent to jail but is released by the time he is seen in Katy Keene, he makes a bargain with the authorities where he gets immunity if he turns the ringleader in. I feel something must have happened though because last episode Kev was talking about going to Carniege but after watching that clip I’m not so sure he did go because I feel like if he had he wouldn’t now be back in Riverdale working at the school, he’d be onto bigger better things. Him being involved in the video tapes could explain why he didn’t go to that college if that is the case. But as I sai I don’t watch the show, I haven’t seen the full episode I’ve just seen the one clip so there could be something in the episode that exonerates him of my accusations.
So out of them all who do I think is most likely the voyeur? Well actually pretty much all of them. We know from the Mr Honey tape that the Voyeur is not working alone, there were six people in that video doing the murdering so there must be at least six people involved. There were three females and three males. So I think our ringleader is Donna and that she is accompanied by Polly, Evelyn (who seeing as we haven’t checked in on her in a good few episodes it possible she could have either been released from jail or escaped), Terry, Mr Honey and Kevin. All of these characters have a motive and they can all been linked, Donna knows Evelyn because she went to visit her in jail and they worked together to mess with Betty, Evelyn is connected to Polly and Kevin through the farm, Kevin is connected to Terry and Mr Honey. Several of them can also be linked to the Red suite or to film making in some way.
As for whether it was really Mr Honey being killed in the video I do have some thoughts on that. Firstly the bandage that was on Mr Honey’s hand all episode doesn’t appear to be on the victims hand, of course they could have taken if off. If we go with Mr Honey is one of the killers in the video then we still have the problem that no one in the video had a bandage on their hand. Another thing I thought of is if it is the real Mr Honey why bother putting a mask on him? Is it just for theatrics? In which case surely it would have been much scarier and dramatic if the viewer knew it was Mr Honey. So I’m kinda 50/50 on that one. If it is him then I don’t think that neccessarily means he wasn’t ever involved after all if it is Donna masterminding it all then it wouldn’t be the first time she’s killed someone on her side because they stopped being useful. But if it is him then Jughead could find himself in hot water considering he was the one who wrote the story about Mr Honey being murdered by his group of friends and then that actually happens, that looks very suspicious. But what about you guys do you think it was Mr Honey who was killed or do you think he’s lived to cancel prom another day?
Freaky Friction
Next I want to talk about the storyline of Jughead’s revenge fantasy story. I actually loved these parts of the episode, mostly. There were some things that I wasn’t quite ok with but for the most part it was really entertaining. I loved loved loved seeing the kids work together as a group. Also just them hanging out as a group. Those scenes where they were altogether are the kind of scenes I’ve been looking for all season, these characters are suppose to be friends and it was refreshing to see those interactions, the only thing that could have made it better would have been if Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea were also included. What I found most interesting about this storyline was firstly, this whole concept of how the kids are really the monsters and how the town has become dark and corrupted. Jughead’s story kind of held a mirror up to both the kids and the town as a whole and showed just how dark they had become. I loved how that was a gradual realisation as well, like as the story went on Jughead is slowly beginning to see that. The other thing I thought was really interesting is the way Jughead depicts the characters in his story. So starting with the way Jughead wrote the charaters. To me they all seemed really ooc like none of them behaved the way I thought they would. For example it was interesting that he depicted Reggie as the one who can’t handle the aftermath of the murder and starts to slip up and cave and tell people about what they had done and that it was Archie who stopped him. The reason why I think this is interesting is because although we don’t know how Reggie would react in that situation, we have some idea of how Archie would because of the whole Jughead attempted murder thing. Now I know they are slightly different scenarios because Jughead didn’t die but we have to remember that in those first couple of days they didn’t know if Jughead was going to die and they also didn’t know if Betty had actually been the one to do it. So essentially they were acting how they would have if they were trying to cover up a murder. In that scenario it was actually Archie who nearly slipped up and told his mum what had happened. The only reason why he didn’t was because Betty saw what was happening and rang him up to warn him to stop talking. Later Archie actually does cave and tells his mum the truth about how Jughead had faked his death. So we know that really if Jughead had written the characters accurately then Archie should have been the one struggling not to tell anyone.
Also its interesting the way he depicts Reggie, as mostly throughout the series he and Reggie have been at odds with each other. In season 1 Reggie straight up bullied Jughead and there has been alot of conflict between Reggie and the Serpents in the rest of the seasons. But there have been moments when its really mattered where they have all come together. Given all the physical altercations he and Reggie have gotten into you’d think Jughead would write him as a violent unremorseful character but he doesn’t while he does have one scene where Reggie loses his temper and beats on Mr Honey for most of the story Reggie is seen being very regretful and guilty of his actions. I think this is because Jughea recognises that alot of Reggie’s anger and outbursts stem from the abuse he has suffered growing up. Reggie says to Archie that his dad has been hitting him for as long as he can remember. That has to have had an effect on him. I think Jughead knows that unltimately Reggie is a good person underneath it all.
Veronica was another one that wasn’t written the way I was expecting her to be. I’ve said this so many times in my other posts that you are probably getting bored of it but we have to remember to look at things from the character’s pov in situations like this. Obviously all of this is told from Jughead’s point of view. This is what makes it so interesting because in the past Jughead has villanized Veronica. In season 3 there was pretty much an all out war between his family and hers and he was fully aware of the fact that she was helping her parents with their schemes. She knew about Southside High being closed down yet acted like she didn’t and even tried to manipulate the situation in her parents favour, as nice as it was for her to greet the serpents and welcome them to the school she wasn’t doing that out of the kindness of her own heart it was because her parents told her to. She also knew about the prison and actively helped her parents bring that about. She got her redemption arc later when she then turned agaisnt her parents. But I feel like Jughead has always seen her as a cold, calculating person who is often influenced by her parents and I wouldn’t say they have been particularly close over the seasons. Also again, as with Archie, we know how she would react in a situation like this due to the whole Jughead is dead thing and in that situation in my opinion she was the calmer more logical thinking one out of the three. So its really interesting to me that in both versions of his story he wrote Veronica as the moral compass. I do have one theory on it though. If we are going on the assumption that Jughead has a negative and biased view of Veronica because of his family’s hardships at the hands of Veronica’s family and that he believes that Veronica is the one who is the most corrupt because of those events then maybe him putting Veronica in the position of being morally correct is his subconcious telling him there is still hope that they could escape the darkness of the town. Like if Veronica can turn things around then there is hope for them all. It’s possible that he has watched her fight her way out from under her parents thumb and escape their dark influence and make her own path and he actually kind of admires her for it. It’s been something he himself has tried to do in respect of getting away from his own family’s dark past and being the first Jones man to go to college. He’s been judged his whole life for where he comes from and who his family is and its something he has fought back against as long as we’ve known him, this whole idea of no you’re wrong I’m so much more than what you think I am. I think he is now starting to recognise that Veronica has been through that same thing too. From day one people have judged her for being Hiram Lodge’s daughter, that her family are criminals and she’ll be just the same. But as I’ve said he’s witnessed her journey and seen how she has fought to prove people wrong and make herself into the person she wants to be. I think this is a character trait that Jughead really respects and admires. This is why he then writes her as almost the heroine of the story.
Cheryl is also another one that behaves differently to how we’ve seen her at in the same situation in the real world. Its really intriguing that Jughead chose to write Cheryl the way he did. Again we know that when confronted with a dead body to get rid of and a murder to cover up, Cheryl will react calmly and in that situation she was the one that came up with the plan to get rid of the body and how to make sure her relatives stayed quiet she also showed little signs that it had effected her much afterwards. Yet in Jughead’s story she’s one of the most emotional. We and also Jughead have seen in the past that Cheryl tends to keep most of her emotions bottled up, she rarely really reacts to trauma. She tends to put on a brave face most of the time but then we’ve seen her show emotion enough to know that she is still capable of feeling emotion and that she is effected by what is happening around her but she tends to keep it all in check until it finally bubbles over. Out of everyone you could argue that Cheryl has had one of the roughest times on the show and I don’t think she is ever really given the time or space to properly process her trauma or grieve her losses. She’s been damaged by the things shes gone through and her parents abuse who I feel like taught her emotion was a weakness. We know that her mother often told her she was a loveless monster and heartless and I think on some level Cheryl believed her, it was something that plagues her as we see from her conversation with Toni at Pop’s after they saw Love, Simon. Her relationship with Toni is helping her realise this isn’t true but I still think those scars from her mother’s phsycological abuse run deep and I think this not being allowed to properly grieve was what led to that really unhealthy situation where she had Jason in her basement. What I think Jughead has done in his story is portrayed Cheryl how she probably should behave and react to this situation given her past traumas. He’s allowing her to let her emotions out and actually grieve. Maybe he recognises that she’s hiding behind a wall and feels some kind of sympathy for her and so in his story where he is the master of what happens he lets her process things in a more healthy way of crying it out to her friends.
Which brings me to the next part because if that is the case and he is trying to write Cheryl as processing things healthily then why does his own character of Jughead behave the way he does towards Cheryl and tell her to get ahold of herself and even potentially plans to kill her for showing emotion? Well I think the most interesting part of Jughead’s story is the way he depicts himself and Betty. Again these are characters where we’ve seen what their natural reaction to getting rid of dead bodies is. With the whole Shady Man plotline we saw both of them have very emotional reactions, Betty is seen throwing up and having flashbacks and Jughead looked visibly shaken when she told him about it. Betty again reacts the same way when she thinks she might have hurt Jughead we again see her throwing up and really struggling with it. Yet in Jughead’s story they are without a doubt the most ruthless and darkest out of all the characters in the story. It almost comes across as them enjoying it, they show no remorse for killing Mr Honey or Reggie and they ridicule the others for showing emotion like they see it as them being weak. They seem straight up psychotic at times. So why has he written them this way? Well some of it I think is his own fears making their way into his writing. I think he has this fear that they’ve all been through so much that by this point they are too damaged and that they will never fully escape the darkness of the town, that no matter where they go that darkness will follow them. I think this particularly hits home when Story Jughead says ‘are we going to be monsters in college or in jail.’ This to me seems like he doesn’t believe that leaving Riverdale will free them from all the pain and horrific events they’ve experienced. That this is something he fears. I feel like its a fear that alot of the other kids feel too. But I think Jughead fears the most that he and Betty are the ones that will struggle the most to leave it all behind. If you think about it he and Betty are the ones who are most often pulled into the murder and mayhem of the town by their investigative adventures. More and more willingly over time they went looking for mysteries to solve. I think it got to the point where they started to enjoy and almost become obsessed with solving these mysteries to the point where they are now almost in too deep. I also think it would be natural for Jughead to worry more about Betty the most as she’s the one he’s closest too. If you think about it the next darkest character in the original story is Archie who is the next closet person to him. The other interesting part though is when he rewrites the story he ‘saves’ Archie from his darkness and makes him a good guy who does the right thing. I think part of this is because he has seen Archie consistently try to do the right thing and so maybe he thinks this will somehow help spare Archie from being stuck in the darkness. But both he and Betty are still the dark characters who get no redemption in the end, I think this is because it is such a deep rooted fear that he believes neither he or Betty will ever be able to walk away from it all, that they will always be sucked back into another murder mystery.
I think another reason why he might have depicted them as the darkest of all the characters is because as Cheryl said they found each other in this town of nightmares. It was the darkness of Riverdale that their relationship was born out of. I made a post about how Archie sees the light in Betty well I feel like its the opposite for Jughead and he sees the darkness in her. Now before some of you start picking up your pitchforks and flaming torches I don’t necessarily mean that’s a bad thing. In fact in some ways its a good thing that Jughead can understand that darker part of her and that he accepts it, I feel like its what Betty needed at times. I also think it was important that Betty was also able to do the same for Jughead. But this only works if they are helping each other work through their darkness, which they used to do in the past.
And this is where we reach the true problem, that epiphany that Jughead reaches. These kids have stopped helping and supporting each other through the darkness, now instead they’ve started to encourage each others inner darkness. As Jughead says after he rewrites his story he realised that he was revelling in the town’s sickness and enjoying the suffering of another. This was true of all the kids. I liked this running theme, that ran simultaneously through both the story Jug was writing and the plotline of the kids going up against Mr Honey over prom, of the real monsters being the kids who have been corrupted by the town and all its happenings. I mean during the whole planning out the revenge fantasy and planning how to overthrow Mr Honey not one of them stopped to question whether what they were doing was right, not one of them called their friends out they all just encouraged each other and threw in their own ideas. I mean when Betty starts talking about how Mr Honey works late on tuesdays so they could sneak into school and kidknap him, Archie doesn’t comeback with wow Betty that’s really dark maybe we shouldn’t be thinking about this, instead he points out that Mr Honey would recognise them. It all just kind of snowballs from there. And yes I get that its all fiction and made up and its played off comically but its different when its set in a town where this sort of thing actually happens on a regular basis and, as Betty says herself, alot of lines in the story they have said in real life, I mean Betty, Jughead and Cheryl have been in the postion where they have had someone tied up, Cheryl has actually mapleboarded her mother which is what gave them that idea for the revenge fantasy. Some of them have legit had to get rid of a body before. Its the fact that while it might be made up they are getting the ideas from real life experiences that makes it seem all the more sinister.
The other disturbing thing to though is throughout most of the episode the kids don’t recognise that they are the bad guys. They see Mr Honey as this enemy because when you think about it every person in town in twisted in some way, that’s what’s normal for riverdale. I think its very telling that the first thing Betty plans to do when thinking of a plan to overthrow Honey and get prom back is look for skeletons. Again she does this because that’s just how Riverdale works, everyone has a secret that they are hiding or some dark past they don’t want anyone to know about and using blackmail to get what you want is just a normal way to deal with things in Riverdale and its been this way for so long now that the kids don’t even see why that’s wrong. I saw alot of comments saying about how they thought the way the kids were behaving with Mr Honey was wrong and that he was in the right most of the time when he was punising the students, like he was right when he punished Cheryl for locking her coach in a room and causing that coach to have a panic attack, the tickle gang were wearing school uniforms in those videos which could give the school a bad rep, he didn’t know that Betty didn’t cheat on the quiz and if as the evidence suggested she had then banning her from prom was the right thing to do. There were some things he did that were very questionable and as I said above I’m not completley sold on him being a good guy. But all these comments are right, for the most part he behaved as a normal strict principal would in most of those situations. But we have to look at it from the kids point of view and remember that the majority of the adults they’ve had in their lives have been abusive or manipulative and done some pretty awful things to them so its not at all surprising that these kids would see Honey’s actions as him being out to get them afterall that’s what a normal adult in riverdale would be doing. I think the most worrying part though is that it almost seemed like on some level the kids didn’t want things to change. For example when Jughead told Honey not to mess with them in their own town or how when Honey pointed out the all the murder, mayhem and depravity in the town was not normal, Betty replied it was normal to them. I feel like the kids are stuck in this limbo where some part of them wants to escape and get out of Riverdale and another part of them is afraid of leaving what is normal to them. Whilst Riverdale and its ways are not normal to the rest of the world its what these kids know and understand. I just thought this idea of holding up a mirrror to the town and showing just how effected the residents of riverdale and the kids in particular was a really interesting one that they explored this episode.
I’m Not So Sure About That
Ok so I do want to quickly talk about the parts that I had a bit of an issue with. Firstly I really didn’t like that Jughead used Reggie’s abuse at the hands of his father as a plotpoint in his story. This story was being sent off to a College where other people, strangers that Reggie doesn’t know will read it. Ok so Jughead was going to change the names but even so something about it seemed wrong to me. I also feel like it is something that happens alot with Jughead’s writing to, he wrote about Jason Blossom without taking into consideration how it might be traumatic for Cheryl to know a book about her brother’s murder at the hands of her father is being read by people worldwide. Especially when she is trying to move on from it. Also he did the same with Betty where he was going to write one about her father which she got understandably upset about. I just feel like we are seeing this pattern of Jughead using his friends’ traumas for his writing without asking them first. Like I understand that he is drawing from his own experiences like he was heavily involved in solving these mysteries but it still didn’t seem right. Like if they had written in a quick scene or line where he talks to those who will be effected and was like hey I want to write this story, I think its important people know this story, I’m going to change the names, is it ok for me to do this, then it might have been a bit better.
The other thing I was conflicted or even confused about was Jughead writing Betty the way he did, as Dark Betty and how ok Betty was with it. Now I did explain above why he might have done this but I’m still somewhat conflicted about it because I feel like this season Betty has really struggled with this whole dark side of herself to the point where she thought she might actually have hurt someone she loved and where she was willing to be hypnotised so she could kill her dark self. It seemed a bit insensitive for Jughead to then write Betty as Dark Betty and I was genuinely confused as to why Betty seemed to like it so much. I feel like she was a bit ooc this episode in that respect and it almost felt to me that she had gone backwards. I mean she had made all this progress before where she had moved on from this darkside of herself she had wanted to move away from the whole murder mysteries and focus more on other things and now its like she is being sucked back in again. I do think some of it is because thats the dynamic of her relationship with Jughead, they go on murder mysteries together and they’re both a little dark and twisted. But I can’t help but wonder if you take that away what’s left? What would their relationship look like without that stuff because I feel like its such a big part of them. I think the other part is as a mentioned above as much as these kids want to escape they also don’t want to leave what’s familiar to them.
The other thing that I found a little odd and this one is minor, but when did Archie tell them about going to the Naval Academy? Because it seemed like a big decision for him but it was kind of just brushed over. I mean Jughead clearly knows about the Naval Academy because he writes into the story and Betty must know to because she didn’t have much of a reaction to reading it. The only thing I could think of is that Archie mentioned he had applied but they don’t know yet if he has got in. I’m pretty sure Jughead in the story said he was going to Iowa but we don’t know if he has got in yet. Obviously in that scene though they had to say they were going for it to fit the scene seeing as they were all listing the colleges they were going to. If that was it though its a bit disappointing as they made a bit of  a big deal out of him questioning whether to go and I feel like him telling his friends he’s going would be kind of something we should see. But I guess they still might ave a scene where he confirms he’s going to his friens, we’ll have to wait and see.
The fact that Toni, Fangs and Sweet Pea weren’t included in this episode. I’m assuming that they had some good reason why they weren’t included like scheduling or something but still I would have liked to have seen them in those scenes.
The Bits I liked
Ok so now I want to talk about the bits I liked. I loved the comedy in this episode. Like it was dark humor but it was still good, I laughed alot during this episode at just how ridiculous some of it was and I do think that was the point they weren’t expecting you to take it seriously it was meant to be fun and it was. Some of my favourite moments was Archie suggesting he could sneak up on Honey and knock him out then when it shows the story acting it out Archie just runs straight at him and punches him in the face, no subtlety, no sneaking just pure chaotic energy. Everyone putting up their hands when asked whose got experience dealing with a body before and  Reggie commenting on how was he the only one who hadn’t dealt with a dead body before was another golden moment. I also loved the scene when the parents are confronting Honey and FP says he and Tom are just the muscle. I gotta admit as well that as sorry as I felt for him there was something very amusing about seeing Mr Honey being wheeled out of his office while stuck to his chair and with the hand still glued to the phone. There were just so many comedy gold moments throughout the episode.
Reggie. Just Reggie as a person, he was great in this episode I loved every minute he was on screen and I really hope we get to see more of him in season 5.
The scene where the kids recruit the parents and they all come walking slow mo down the hall and then threaten Mr Honey with lawyers and governors and scathing news articles (and of course the muscle) was amazing.
Also the scene with the parents and the kids celebrating at Pop’s was really sweet with everything the parents were saying it did feel a bit like the end of a chapter like the parents are getting ready for their kids to fly the nest.
Season 5 Predictions and Theories.
Ok to finish off I want to talk about what I think might happen next for our Riverdale gang. I’ve based some of this off of the interviews that I have read since watching the episode and on what’s happened in the show already and where I logically think the show can/ will go from here. First I want to address the issue that there’s been some talk that the time jump might not happen. This is based off of an interview RAS gave where the reporter asked if the time jump will still happen and this is what RAS replied:
Tumblr media
So obviously this has caused some confusion as to whether the time jump will still happen. I personally feel like even though its going to be more difficult then doing it between seasons it is still something they should do. I feel like it could be a bit of a mess trying to follow them while they are all at colleges miles away from each other. I mean only Toni and Cheryl are going to the same school so they would have to build at least 5 new sets for each of the colleges. I feel like it would be kind of impossible for the group to interact when they are all at different schools. Alternately they do some storyline where none of them go to the colleges they wanted to and they all end up at local colleges which is kinda what they did with Gossip Girl and to be honest it turned into a bit of a mess. By the mid point of the season the audience wasn’t even sure if they were still even in college because they would never go and it just stopped making sense. They could try and draw out a storyline set in the summer right before they go to college up until the midseason finale and then do the 5 year time jump inbetween the mid season break. They did this with Pretty Little Liars and while it was a little jarring it worked slightly better than Gossip Girl trying to follow them through college. My personal preference would be for them to stick with what they planned orignally and finding a way to make that work so still have the time jump after episode 4x22/5x03. It’s not ideal I know but I feel like ultimately it will make more sense from a storytelling point of view. But seeing as it is so uncertain I am going to base my preditions off of the assumption there will be a time jump as planned.
FP and Hermione
So we know that FP and Hermione won’t be in season 5 past episode 3 as the actors are leaving the show. However RAS has confirmed that neither character will die and that he hopes that they may be able to return now and again in the same way that they have Mary Andrews pop in and out when the narrative allows it. So if they aren’t dying how might they be written out of the show. Well this is where the time jump could come in handy. If Veronica goes to Barnard then maybe the Lodges or just Hermione move back to New York to be close to her. When whatever draws them back to Riverdale happens it wouldn’t be unreasonable for Hermione to choose to stay in New York. Maybe Hiram either doesn’t leave Riverdale to start with I mean he is Mayor, or if he did maybe he also comes back to keep an eye on Veronica. As for FP I think with Betty and Jughead going to college maybe FP and Alice decide that they’ve had enough of Riverdale and all the crap they’ve been through and so they decide to move out of town and raise Jelly Bean somewhere a little more kid friendly you know where she might not be murdered or roped into joining a cult or running drugs for a gang. Then when Betty is back in Riverdale maybe Alice comes back to help with whatever is going on.
The Love Square.
So based off the interviews we know that ep 20 was going to be the prom episode, that 21 was one where alot of emotional journeys climaxed and that 22 was graduation. We know that at some point Jughead and Veronica will find out about what happened between Archie and Betty and RAS did confirm two things one was that it won’t be the video tapes that outs them. The second is that they both find out in different ways.
In regards to Veronica and Archie I think Veronica is going to find out in the prom episode. This is what RAS said about it:
Tumblr media
From what he is saying here about how we haven’t seen the last of the song Archie wrote for Betty I think it might be the song that gives him away. Now it could be that he sings it at Prom but I’m not sure why he would do that. Realistically you are not going to sing a song that you wrote about your childhood friend who you’ve caught feelings for and who is dating your best guy friend while at prom with your girlfriend. So I feel like someone is either going to find a recording of the song (we know that Archie sometimes records his songs as we’ve seen him play them from a portable recorder and his laptop) or someone will overhear him singing it. This could be Cheryl as she does like to meddle in things and cause some chaos. But maybe whoever hears the song puts Archie on the spot and asks him to sing it at prom leaving him with no other choice. Its possible that Veronica then realises that its not about her and there is some big dramatic blowout between them.A more awkward situation would be if something happens at the prom that prompts Archie’s mum to go on stage and suggest that Archie come up and sing as a way to distract from whatever drama is going down. Trying to be helpful maybe she asks if he can sing that beautiful song he wrote for Veronica. Again this puts Archie right on the spot as now everyone is expecting him to sing and Veronica is there beaming at him thinking he’s written some love song for her only to realise as he sings it that its not actually about her. Maybe this then forces him to come clean to Veronica and then they break up.
Another option is that on Prom day/night Veronica either finds the song, either written in his notebook or a recording of it, or is mother mentions it to her and thats when she realises he’s written a song about someone else. Understandably this puts her in a bit of a bad mood but she doesn’t want to spoil the night so she quietly seeths for a bit until eventually during prom Archie having recognised she’s in a bad mood asks whats wrong and she can’t keep it in anymore and confronts him.
Option 3 is again someone finds the recording and they download it and then play it at prom as oppose to Archie signing it live. I could see a potential scenario like this happening if Cheryl were to find the song and decides she really likes it and wants it to play while she and Toni have their prom queens dance so she just takes it and gives it to the DJ to play. Then we get the same as I’ve said before, Veronica confronts Archie he confesses and they realise their realtionship isn’t going anywhere. I feel like finding out about the kiss will bring up alot of other things they need to talk about too such as where their relationship is going in regards to what happens when they go to college and that kind of thing.
As for Jughead and Betty RAS doesn’t mention anything about them in this interview in regards to prom but in another he does say that when they were looking at the footage of 4x20 to see if they could patch an episode together a big part of the reason why they chose not to was because they hadn’t yet filmed some important character scenes between Archie and Veronica and Betty and Jughead. So we know something important happens between Betty and Jughead during the prom episode but I don’t feel like its actually at prom because RAS said they had already filmed the big event. RAS had also said that after everything happened with Barchie Betty was feeling good about returning to Jughead and that she was trying to reconnect with him. To be honest this makes sense to me and we saw a bit of it in episode 19. I did feel like Betty seemed to be trying a little too hard with Jughead she just seemed more touchy feely with him than she usually is. We all said that we thought she would throw herself back into that relationship and really try to focus on it to distract herself. This is the same behaviour as the last time she and Archie kissed. Just pretend it didn’t happen and put extra attention on her relationship with Jughead. It would also make sense for her to feel good about it as she has convinced herself she made the right choice, Here’s the thing though RAS said trying to reconnect he doesn’t say anything about succeeding in that. Also Betty is being untruthful with Jughead right now by not being honest with him about what happened with Archie. So long as she is being untruthful with him its not going to work between them. Eventually its going to come out and its going to be made worse by the fact that Betty has been lying to him. RAS says this about episode 21:
Tumblr media
He also in another interview said this about Betty an Jughead’s relationship:
Tumblr media
So I could see a couple of things happening here. One it’s still possible that Jughead finds out about Archie and Betty in the prom episode just maybe not at prom itself. It could be that Veronica finds out earlier in the episode and then Jughead finds out at the very end of the episode and its the cliffhanger for the episode which would leave things unresolved between Betty and Jughead. RAS says that in episode 21 alot of emotional stories climax meaning they come to a head or to the end. He also says before graduation Betty and Jughead have a big, difficult conversation about their future as they are going to different schools. The thing is similar to how I think its going to go with Veronica and Archie I do think that this big, difficult conversation will start off about what happened with Betty and Archie and then evolve from there into a discussion about where there relationship can go from here considering they are going to different schools. I do think it’ll be in episode 21 that Betty and Jughead will break up. As for how I think Jughead might find out we know its different from how Veronica does. Also RAS when asked if Barchie were truly over mentioned how Betty kept her diary which suggests that as we suspected will come back into play. I actually think it’ll be through the diary that Jughead finds out and I think that’s why so much focuss was put on these two items (the song and the diary) in episode 18 because these were the things that were going to reveal the truth about Barchie. I think its possible that at the end of the prom episode they’ve made it home after prom and maybe Betty is grabbing a shower or something and while she’s out the room Jughead knocks the diary off the side or desk and it falls open at the page where Betty wrote about the kiss. As Jughead picks it up off the floor the words catch his eye and he can’t help but read what it says. At that moment is when Betty comes back into the room and Jughead looks up from the diary to her and thats when it cuts to black.
Another option is that Jughead doesn’t find out in ep 20 but in ep 21 they talk about what’s going to happen after graduation and decide they are going to make a long distance thing work. Then either at the end of ep 21 or the beginning of ep 22 he finds out about the kiss through the diary, another way he could see the diary is if someone else finds the diary pages about Barchie and decides to make a photocopy and send it to Jughead, maybe Jellybean is snooping in Betty’s room for some reason and wants to protect her brother but doesn’t want anyone to know she read Betty’s diary so she sends it instead. After a confrontation they then break up.
Then graduation will be this really emotional bittersweet episode where the core four will be broken apart but also coming together to celebrate the end of this stage of their lifes then they will all go their separate ways.
As a quick interjection I have seen some speculation that maybe Jughead and Betty will get engaged. I personally don’t think its likely, I’ve not seen any hints myself that suggest that may happen. I think from the sounds of this difficult conversation they are going to have its more likely they break up and it does seem like the goal was to break up the core four for the time jump. However one scenario where this could happen is if they get engaged before he finds out about Barchie and then they break up after he finds out. While I’ll admit that would bring alot of drama to the show I personally really really don’t want that to happen. The main reason for this is, and I know some might disagree with me here, but one thing I hated, like really hated, last time they kissed in season 2 was how Betty then slept with Jughead before telling him the truth about Archie. Now anyone who has read my barchie analysis for ep 17 will know that I don’t hate characters for making a mistake, so I want to make it clear that I still love Betty and I’m not hating on her when I say this I recognise that she is a young girl who is still making mistakes and growing. But like I said for me I thought it was wrong of Betty to take that next big step with Jughead whilst he was in the dark about the kiss. I feel like he should have been given the option to walk away from her without having taken that next step if he wanted to break up with her because of it. Whilst we know now that Jughead doesn’t break up with her when he finds out there was no way of knowing that at the time. What makes it worse was that Jughead was honest with Betty about how he had done stuff with Toni when they were separated. I just wish Betty had returned the favour and had also been honest. I feel like if she were to get engaged to him without him knowing about what happened with Archie it would be the same situation. I just feel like if you are going to be making these big steps in a relationship then you need to do it with all your cards shown. It kinda reminds me of the situation in this movie I loved growing up called The Wedding Date, if you haven’t seen it then I’m sorry but I’m about to spoil it for you (to be fair it did come out in 2005) so skip this part if you want but its where a bride is revealed to have been sleeping with her sisters ex and cheating on her fiance, the ex also happens to be the grooms best friend, there’s this one scene where the sister confronts the bride when she says she plans to tell her fiance the truth but after the wedding, and the sister sarcastically tells her that she should pick the right time because when he finds out she has been cheating on him ‘he won’t feel like the whole world is collapsing around him and there’s no escape because you tricked him into marrying you.’ I feel like this would be a similar situation if Betty were to accept Jughead’s proposal without telling him that she cheated with Archie. It might make Jughead feel more trapped if they are engaged. With every new step they take together its going to be worse when Jughead does eventually find out. Anyway I feel like I’ve just gone completely off course here. But yeah it could potentially happen, it would definitely be drama filled but while I might be a Barchie shipper I still love Jughead and I would hate to see him crushed like that.
So I’ve spoken about the other two couples so what do I think will happen with Barchie? Well as I said Veronica and Archie will break up in ep 20, Jughead and Betty I reckon will be ep 21 and I think Barchie will come in ep 22. In his interviews RAS said that Betty’s emotional affair with Archie reconfirmed her feelings for Jughead. Again I feel like this makes sense. I said myself that I felt like Betty choosing Jughead had more to do with not wanting to lose Jughead than it did with how she felt about Archie. Thinking back on it, twice now this season Betty has been confronted with this possibilty of losing Jughead, first with his attempted murder and then when she cheated. Jughead isn’t just someone she loves he and their relationship is something familiar to her and so I think she is clinging to that out of fear or not knowing what her life will look like without him in it. She got a small taste of what it was like to be at different schools when he was at Stonewall and it was during these times that she drifted closer to Archie. The thing is she hasn’t yet had to fully comprehend what it’ll be like to lose Archie. I think when she ended it with him at no point did she believe that she could lose Archie by ending it. I think she just knew he would still be there for her even if they weren’t romantically involved. Again this thinking would make sense as the last time they kissed after despite the fact that they didn’t get together he was still there for her. Archie has been this constant in her life and I think in ep 22 there will come a moment maybe at graduation or right after where she will realise this is it, they are going to go their separate ways and that she might not ever see him again. I could see it happen while everyone is sitting around at the graduation after party and they’re all talking about what their plans are next and maybe Archie says something like he’s not sure if he’ll come back to riverdale after he’s done with the navy. I do think they will then have a really emotional goodbye scene where they both admit they have feelings for each other but accept that now just isn’t the right time for them. My ultimate fantasy would be if they then make a pact that in 5 years time they’ll meet back in Riverdale and see where they stand with each other. I do think if they ended the episode there it would be nice follow on for the next episode where it is 5 years in the future.
What Brings Them All Back
So if they do go with the time jump then what is it that could bring them all back to Riverdale 5 years later? The obvious one would be someone is murdered so they all come back for the funeral and end up staying to solve the mystery. I mean its definitely possible but I feel like from some of the interviews and the direction they have taken this season so far that they are setting up the show to have a huge shift in focus. A time jump could be a great way of kind of resetting the show and turning it into something new and well I think they are running out of ideas for the whole murder mystery type genre and  I think people are getting a little tired of it too, so they might shift it to focus more on just a drama full of adult life obstacles and problems. No murders or cults or any of that, maybe turn it more into a later seasons gossip girl, One tree hill or 90210 type of show. In that case I can think of three possible reasons why they come back. 1) There is a 5 year high school reunion. 2) At graduation they all made a pact together to all return to riverdale on that exact day 5 years later so they could see where everyone ended up. 3) This ones my favourtie, what if Choni are getting married and they all come back for the wedding. Whatever the reason for them coming back I do feel like something will happen that will keep them all there. It could be like a One Tree Hill type thing where they came back because nathan was injured but found reasons to stay for example Peyton wanted to open her own recording label and said she needed inspiration which One tree hill was giving her (but lets be honest she also stayed for lucas). Brooke stays because she decides to open a store there. I could see something similar happening here. If they do a time jump of five years to skip over their time in college then they still have a problem with one of the characters Archie. When Brooke (the woman from the navy academy) told him about the navy academy she said it was four years at the academy and then five years on active duty in the navy. That means 9 years away so if the time jump is only 5 years then Archie will still be in his first year of active duty in the navy. However it is possible that they will go with a storyline where Archie is injured in his first year of active duty and has to be medically discharged from the navy or at the very least take time off to recover. This could be what brings the rest of them back to riverdale as they all want to help and support Archie in his recovery. It would be a rather tragic stroyline for Archie as he would go through all that training, work on his boxing career only for it to all be torn away from him. If they do it right it could be a very emotional and moving storyline and it would take the show in a different direction but still have storylines that the audience can get invested in. They could make the show more about human emotions and real life struggles and the relationships of the characters as oppose to all the wacky, strange mysterious murder stuff.
So that is where I could see Archie being post time jump, he went the academy things went really well for him, then during his first year of active duty a sustains a life changing injury. He then has to go on this journey of dealing with this traumatic event thats happened to him and recovering from his injury. It would be a story about healing.
As for Veronica I think she would have graduated from Barnard with a business degree and would now be foucced on growing her La Bonne Nuit into a franchise or something similar to that. Or maybe La Bonne Nuit isn’t doing so well so she wants to reinvitalise it and restore it to its former glory. I do think she’ll return to Riverdale engaged though. Likely to a rich and ambitious kind of fellow. I also feel like either she would have already gotten close to Jughead over the break or she will start to get close to Jughead when they are all back. I think this joint betrayal will bring them closer together. I don’t know if it would be a romantic situation but if they did do that I could see them as doing something similar to Spencer and Caleb on PLL in the sense of they have both broken up with their S/O and are feeling lost and end up connecting with each other. Now I don’t think their relationship would neccessarily go the same way as Spaleb went but I could see it starting out the same way in that they connect through the hurt they are feeling about their break ups.
Jughead I could see struggling to get a book published after leaving Barnard or maybe it’ll be the same thing as Lucas on OTH where he’s had one book that’s done really well but now the pressure is on him to give his publishers another one. Maybe this is why he stays in Riverdale as a way of drawing inspiration.
As for Betty again she would have graduated from Yale. I could see her going one of two ways, either shes looking into journalism or I do think she could start training with the FBI. It would be a good way of tying Charles back into the storyline if he doesn’t turn out to be evil and it does seem to me like Betty really enjoys being in the Junior FBI program. We also know how much she loves to solve mysteries so I could definitely see Betty coming back as an FBI agent.
Choni as I mentioned above I feel like they will be getting married. I think they’ll probably still have custody of the twins who will be much older now which could be quite fun to see. As for job wise I’m not sure where they’d be. I’m assuming Cheryl will still be doing the family Maple business. Maybe Toni goes into photography of something like that, I’m sure there was a storyline where she said she liked photography when we first met her, but I could be wrong on that. I feel like Cheryl probably kept in touch with Betty over the years and Toni probably kept in touch with Jughead.
So yeah that’s what my predictions for season 5 are.
Final Thoughts
So overall I thought this last episode was really good. It was a fun episode to end on. A huge well done to Madchen because she did an amazing job directing this episode, not that I’m surprised she is an absolute queen afterall.  It would have been nice to see the prom and graduation but I’m happy knowing that we will get to see them in season 5. I think this season as a whole was good. I thought the storyline around Stonewall Prep was really interesting and I am intrigued to know who is behind the video tapes. I loved that we got to see Charles and that he has been interacting with Jughead and Betty, I think seeing that sibling bond grow has been fun, lets just keep our fingers crossed it doesn’t all end in tears. Obviously I loved the Barchie storyline we got and I am glad that they seem to be changing things up in the show. I think it was starting to feel a little stagnant and stale and I do think that by changing up the relationships and having different characters interact with each other like Toni and Reggie, and Veronica and Cheryl, I think we need to see some more variety in the interactions in the show. Also it does seem to me like that might move away from the murder mystery part of it which could be interesting. I do think this whole idea of them forcing the characters to see the darkness of Riverdale is what will ultimately make the characters change their ways and heal Riverdale. I do think season 5 could be a season about healing, the town healing, the people healing and the relationships healing. So thats it for now, we’ve got a bit of a wait but as always thank you so much to everyone who read to the end of this.

Ego Descriptions Cause I'm Bored
So, I'm bored and in pain and not doing much, so here, have some ego descriptions. I will be doing Natewantstobattle (2), some of Jacksepticeye (4), and a small portion of Markiplier (4). If there are other you want me to do, comment or message me, and I'll do them.
Natewantstobattle -
Natemare: If an emo grew up and had a psychotic break. Interesting features include purple tear tracks down his face and a whole lot of eyeliner. Also psychopathic tendencies (he likes torturing and killing people). Favorite type of torture includes music?? I guess that's ok.... Probably eats soup with a fork cause he can.
Phantom: the cooler version of Natemare. Has a staff that sucks peoples' souls and knows how to dress fancy smancy. The only person allowed to wear vests without a jacket. Also guyliner on point. Probably sits on a couch wrong on purpose.
Jacksepticeye -
Chase Brody: Depressed and suicidal baby who needs protecting from himself and the world. Has two kids who he loves with everything he has but also has an ex-wife who won't let him see them. Drinks to ignore the pain. Wake him up (wake him up inside) Probably pets every dog he sees so none of them get lonely.
Jameson Jackson: Is a mute boy who is great at what he does and what he does is puppets. He also has a pumpkin friend named Gerald. Makes the 1920's seem cool. Has a pocket watch collection and polishes each one daily. Probably has a tea time that he never misses.
Marvin: The best magician around. Can and will turn into a cat just to be a jerk or to get cuddles. Sews little patterns into his cloak when stressed. Was probably an accident on Seán's part but no one's complaining. Probably has plans to have 15 cats at once.
Antisepticeye: Watch out, it's the glitch demon! Favorite thing to do is to play puppets that he made himself because he may be a murderer but he can still be crafty. Also likes to kill people, favorite way of doing this is throat-slitting, which is not the most effective way to kill people but I ain't tellin him that. Has killed Jack a total of two (2) times and yet he is still alive. Probably takes candy from kids and eats it in front of them.
Markiplier -
Darkiplier: Less emo than Natemare but not by much. Is actually three souls with a sprinkling of evil house entity. Will only wear suits and band tees. Practices evil villain speeches in the mirror so he doesn't mess them up. Tried to take over Mark's channel but failed in epic kid-movie-villian style. Has a pet demon-dog that he forgot to feed once and she was so angry she tried to take over the world. Probably kicks squirrels just to spite his acquaintance King of the Squirrels.
Wilford Warfstache: is actually clinically insane and should be in a mental institution but is not for reasons I have no idea about. Pink is his thing and he gets mad when anybody else wears it. Would do interviews naked if Katherine wasn't there. Probably still watches Glee even though it's almost 2020.
Yancy: Everyone's favorite parent-murderer for.... Some reason..... I'll get back to you when I figure out why people like him so much. Will, without question, punch someone's lights out to get extra pudding when it's on the menu. Would have a cat if he wasn't in jail. Is a Greaser and will force you to listen to him sing the entirety of Grease. Probably bird watches.
King of the Squirrels: maybe more insane than Warfstache or maybe not insane at all. Maybe actually talks to squrrels, maybe not, who knows?? Can grow a beard but chooses to have a almond butter bead anyway. Does not eat peanut butter cause he sometimes hangs around Blankgameplays and Blank's severely allergic to peanuts. Never washes his clothes so is always covered in almond butter. Probably has a human-sized drey to sleep in.

Present Mic Headcanons (LONG)
So it is Present Mic's Bday so yeah. I figured let's chat about some headcanons for my Favorite Deaf since childhood character. (In my opinion.) These could also be considered a little bit sad. Okay. Some are definitely sad. But tragic backstory. That is how it goes.
So maybe he was born Deaf (because his body was already protecting him from his quirk)
Maybe he wasn't
Regardless it wouldnt have mattered because the moment he was born he screamed just like every other baby in existence does.
The doctors, attending nurses, parents, all Deafened almost immediately or had severe damage to their ears.
I like to believe that Hizashi is actually part of a set of twins. A little girl was born first and his big sister is also Deafened by the blast.
His birth parents immediately give him up.
He is placed in a sound proof room and it takes a lot to convince nurses to go in and tend to the screaming baby who is cold and alone.
Social services is called in and they know they need to do an emergency placement immediately.
They succeed finding a profoundly Deaf couple who already can't hear anything to adopt this little boy. Hearing tests show that the baby is already pretty Deaf. The doctors apologize to the new parents who are not impressed with that at all and go off on the doctor saying being Deaf isnt something to apologize for. It is a wonderful and different worldview.
Hizashi gets to grow up with two loving Deaf parents who immerse him in the world of Sign language and Deaf culture. He bangs on the dinner table for attention. Shouts and jumps and waves his hands. Struggles with the concept of personal space. Deaf people may not hear, but they are not quiet.
However social services stays involved. A quirk like that is dangerous so they want it to be monitored closely. The parents don't really want to force Hizashi to goto speech therapy or force him to wear hearing aids but social services requires it potentially even taking them to court to mandate it for the child's care. So there he is at a very young age receiving his first hearing aids.
The parents are not thrilled but support Hizashi anyway. They want him to have the best possible life he can and they know that forcing him into the hearing world is not the way to go. Hizashi is startled by the new noises and responds to them as you often see in the Deaf child gets hearing aids videos. Oh yes so sweet or something. (Those videos are super harmful for Deaf community. Not related and a discussion for another time.)
Hizashi and his parents return home where he promptly flushes them down the toilet because he hates them. (Super common for young Deaf kids.)
Thus comes several years of him destroying or losing various sets of hearing aids. He doesnt know how expensive they are and his parents are not paying for them because it is the government requiring he have them for quirk control.
One day when he is maybe 6 or 7 he hears music for the first time properly. It is a new and better set of hearing aids, they are walking through some festival and bam, there it is, someone playing a guitar or something. He pretty quickly falls in love with it.
He doesnt expect his parents to support him, but they do. They are just as enthusiastic for him to become involved with music as he is. As long as it is what he wants and not something that is being forced on him. They can feel the bass vibrations and enjoy music. He ends up with several instruments, they can't afford the lessons but he learns online but never shows anyone.
He is a genius child. He learns how to arrange light shows to go with his music.
When he enters school he is put into the Deaf Ed program with the rest of the Deaf kids. Still immersed in Sign language. Since he learned Sign first, japanese as a second language comes decently easy to him and he learns to read quickly. He starts to actually listen during his court mandated Speech therapy though he doesn't talk.
He has a quirk accident as a child. Of course he does. All children do. But his accident shatters windows at the school. He doesn't mean to but he struggles with volume control though. Doesnt understand it is something he really needs to work on or monitor.
Of course they start requiring that he go to quirk training outside of school. A specialist is required for these things they say.
His parents are reluctant but have to do as told in order to be allowed to keep him.
He hates the quirk training. He is learning to listen to and understand spoken word now though he never speaks. He can also lip read a decent amount because of all of the therapy which focus's on oral. Even though that isnt the correct path. Hearing people often think that it is. But he understands. Understands they are calling his quirk evil, dangerous, perfect for a villian. But he trains, he tries. From then on he only uses his voice during his mandated quirk training sessions.
He doesn't speak, he doesn't hum. He is doing his best to stay on behavior. It stays like this for years. Of course he occasionally has accidents. One time out with his Dwaf friends he laughs too loud, some bystanders ear starts to bleed. The bystander calls the police.
This is the first time that Hizashi gets arrested. He is just a child but he and the police do not understand each other they think he is resisting arrest, hisashi doesnt understand why they are there. It goes on his juvenile record as unauthorized quirk use in public. He doesn't laugh again. Not for a long time.
He has a few more incidents like that and he is not thrilled but learns to be perfectly quiet. No noise at all.
But he is still a happy child. A bright child. He knows he can control his quirk and just live his life the way he wants to and he will. He is a natural talent with music though he never sings.
His family isn't rich, but they have the basic additions. His parents have a hearing dog, they have flashing doorbells and vibrating alarms. Flashing fire alarms. All of the standard equipment that is considered typical to living a Deaf life.
But they do not have a Deaf intruder Alarm.
One night a villian decides they are easy targets. Hizashi isn't home. He is at a friends house. His parents die that night.
This changes many things in Hizashi's life.
He goes back into the system. No one wants him when they learn about his unique difficulties. His record and his quirk. The fact that he is Deaf. But none of that matters he has made a decision. He will become a hero. And he will find the person who murdered his parents and make sure they never hurt anyone else.
A few months later social services finds a foster family willing to host Hizashi. The house father is not a kind man. When Hizashi arrives he gives Hizashi a list of rules to follow. No quirk use, no speaking. Among others. Hizashi moves from his old school and loses his friends. His foster father puts him into hearing mainstreamed classes.
Things are much more difficult for him now. But he will survive. He starts studying to get into UA. He works harder at his mandated training. It would give him an edge over the others.
He cries out in his sleep one night. Nightmares from traumatic experiences.
His foster father has a special muzzle made. When he enters the home he wears it until he leaves instructed to eat breakfast on the way to school and dinner in the backyard away from the other house kids.
He grows to hate people like this. A darkness festering in his soul. A delicate balance between two paths he could fall down.
He studies technology too. Experiments with creating things when he can. His is paranoid. He doesnt want to be caught off gaurd like his parents so he wants to create a flashing alert for his door and windows. He is sure some are already out there but he no longer has access to these things.
At 14 he starts to speak. Not at home, not at school. But at his required speech therapy. To the surprise of all he speaks perfectly. No accent, no lagging, perfect volume control, and perfect speech. He is just as surprised as everyone else. A quirk specialist decides it is a part of his quirk. His quirk being Voice, it seems to override some of the effects of being Deaf.
Hizashi is pleased because he knows this gives him an easier path to the world of hero's. Having to overcome the barrier of speech issues would have been difficult. He doesn't speak often.
Depression settles in. But he has a goal. He moves forward. He applies for UA for the scholarship program. On the day of the test he wipes the floor with his opponents. No one knows how to handle his quirk. He makes it in easily.
He decides then and there that he will change everything. He will be happy and bright and like he was as a child. For his parents. And he is. He finds himself melding more into the hearing world. He has to.
He creates his own combat hearing aids, out of a set of headphones and some old hearing aid parts. Not perfect but progress. He does such a good job he is allowed into the support work shop and soon has a much better set. He keeps the first pair forever though.
When he meets Shouta, the other child doesnt care about his hearing aids. Or about much at all. Hizashi learns that Shouta knew a Deaf girl at his school back in middle school. Shouta knows basic signs but never bothered to really talk to her either.
Hizashi is still thrilled. By the time they graduate Shouta is reluctantly good at it.
Hizashi never looks back to his foster family once he moves out. He goes on to do wonderful things in the hero community. He uses his radio show as a platform for children in the foster system and children with disabilities. He never wants anyone to feel the way he did.
He eventually tells Shouta about his parents. Shouta just let's him talk. Hizashi needs it. But Hizashi is happy now, there is still a darkness in his soul, something that pulls tight if he gets to angry. A flash of the villian he could be. But being with Shouta tends to keep it at bay.
It isnt until years after they graduate, in their early twenties after college, that Shouta looks at Hizashi, who has grown his hair out. Hizashi is laughing with Nemuri and tosses his longer hair over his shoulder. Shouta realizes that this man looks almost identical to the girl he went to middle school with.
Shouta tracks her down out of curiosity. After some finagling he learns that this girl is indeed Hizashi's twin. He eventually tells Hizashi. Hizashi reunites with his twin sister and develops a bond that will never break with her. It will take many more years before he finds the will to speak with his borth parents. He doesnt know if he will be angry or not. It doesnt matter either. Because the Deaf couple that adopted him, and loved him, had been his parents and no one could replace them.
He lives happily with what he has built for himself. Bouncing between the Deaf and hearing communities. He builds hearing aids and other aids for underprivileged Deaf families and children. He creates his own line of alarms connected to video feeds. His house is always armed to the max. But it isnt so bad once he marries Shouta, able to trust him to hear intruders as well. Though the man sleeps like the dead so he never stops using the alarm system anyway.
Eventually he meets another boy with a voice quirk, shunned for his abilities and with a darkness brewing in his soul.
So of course he keeps that boy. He had been adopted after all, so adopting isnt a difficult decision.

Episode 1:Juno is the one that attacks Haru at night and tries to attack her.
Episode 2:Juno and Haru meet again, both with a mutual “distrust” twoards one another. However both of their distrust seems to be a bit...off.
Episode 3:Eventually the two of them go their seperate ways. Louis breaks his ankle while rehearsing.
Episode 4:Although not the same gender, Juno gets assigned the role of the third villian due to her similar statue. She discovers the truth about Bill and exposes it to the rest of the drama club. Some believe her some don’t. When Bill tries to hurt her (not without her putting back a fight though) though Louis saves the day! For some odd reason she can’t help thinking about Haru.
Episode 5:After getting scholed by Louis Juno has a conversation with her roomate and friend Jack (who informs her about a childhood friend of his coming to this school). Meawhile Haru makes out with Louis. They then eat dinner together. For some odd reason instead of tension Juno feels aniexty and can’t even ask Haru’s name. Haru on the other hand is dealing with instincts trying to tell her to run away. By the end they both wonder if they really “distrust” eachother. (Yes Juno does join the selling.)
Epsidoe 6:Juno reminiscences about the differences in species. Something that she still isn’t quite used and doubts that she ever will be. It’s at this moment she gets bullied by a few other students while crying. It’s at this moment the friend that Jack was talking about comes in and saves the day. The eventually introduce each other and the other wolf reveals his name to be Legoshi. The second half revolves around her going to town and seeing that it’s a lot calmer compared to school. It’s at this moment she discovers why, BLACK MARKET, and gets captured by Gou who later becomes her therapist and recommends giving her some p***.
Episode 7:Legom gains a new customer, named Legoshi. Haru explains how she first meet Louis and the ten days afterwords. After Juno comes in on accident Louis wonders why she was her and Juno responds with an equally mad why she was here. Juno asks Legoshi if he could teach her to dance. She feels calm when she is with him but it’s ultimately probably just biology. After discovering p*** Jack learns that maybe men and women aren’t that diffrent though is concerned about her fetish. Soon preparations begin for the Meteor Festival! It’s not good considering that Juno sees how Haru looks at Louis.
Episode 8:Juno offers to escort Haru home after the festival. On the way, she attempts to become better friends with her, probally to make up for how she acted the past few days & that one time she attacked her. Meanwhile a hand injured Louis confronts the naturally anxious Legoshi and asks him to toughen up for once and bite him. He also falsley accuses him of having feelings for that Juno girl to which he replies:
“Actually, I’s you I like Louis Senpai...well I think. Sorry if I said to much.”
Episode 9:After a blackout and Haru getting confused for Louis (How?) we then see Louis’ past about the cursed number 4. He then lays flowers down for Tem suprised to see Juno, Legoshi and a few other drama club members appearing to do the same. However their mood is interupted when someone tries to kill him. Thankfully due to being out numbered they fail. Juno accepts that Louis is a better pick for Haru. That is until Haru gets kidnapped by some sort of gang. Legoshi, Louis and Juno overhear this and tell the mayor who only responds by saying “It’s to risky and it would ruin my reputation.” The trio is split on what to do. Legoshi recommends staying behind but Juno says that we should save her. Louis decides to side with Legoshi but also mentions that if she does want to fight this gang, then just know that she won’t be hers. Juno decides to challenge Louis on that and the two fight while an anxious Legoshi just goes to the side.
Episode 10:With help from Gohin, Juno manages to find where the Shishigumi are hiding Haru. While this is going on Strong Rain falls on the others. Louis says that’s unlikley that Juno will return while Legoshi is really starting to get worried. He says that he has to go somewhere and that he’ll be back soon. Before Louis can ask where he leaves. We then hear Haru’s will and testament followed by her standing up to him and Juno coming in to save the day, embracing her instinct.
Episode 11:After rescuing Haru Juno and Haru head to a resturant to eat. The head lion tries to shoot them but is ultimatley shot by Legoshi who mentions that Louis was right, he should be more confident in himself. Hopefully this will help. It’s unknown what happens to him afterwords. Unable to go back Juno and Haru spend the night at a love hotel and their true feelings are revealed.
“I geuss I do love you. Even if I was the one who hurt you.”
“...Figured as much.”
Episode 12:One akward night later Juno returns to the academy a hero. However she dosen’t view herself as one and wonders if she even deserves the title due to the nature of the other carnivores. There is one thing she knows though:Haru and her are meant to be in love. Even if it dosen’t work out though there’s always other animals she can love. Louis’t help but worry about Legoshi and as all 3 of them truly cared for him they feel an empathy for him. So Haru gives him a flower and Juno tries to tear him up with a dance. Louis then returns to his normal self and demmands that the two of them take their romance somewhere else. Ghillie’s Villain!Izuku AU Outline
Since the only way this AU is going to see the light of day is as interconnected one-shots as I get angsty/villain prompts, I’m posting the major backstory elements now so readers can reference it. If I end up writing enough of these one-shots, I may rearrange and republish them as a coherent story, but until then here’s a basic starting point.
When Izuku is about 7 or 8, his father comes home and decides to do something about his son’s quirklessness (he’s not a real villain, just a rando with more pride than sense.) Hisashi ends up in a fight with Inko over this, and it eventually becomes so violent Hisashi sets the apartment on fire. Izuku makes sure his mom gets out, but his dad grabs him and runs from the burning building, saying that he’s heard about a “specialist” who could help them.
That “specialist” is All for One. At some point during the meeting, All fro One decides to kill Hisashi but sees something in Izuku and decides to keep him, raising him alongside Shigaraki (I’ve got ideas for a subplot where Izuku’s quirk is the ability to handle multiple quirks so All for One was thinking about using him to hoard extra quirks, but I wouldn’t get into it until WAY down in this AU, and could just as easily be dropped in favor of AFO being impressed by analytics and spirit)
AFO proceeds to groom Izuku to be a villain. At first Izuku keeps hoping that a hero (read “All Might”) would rescue him from the villian who killed his father, but AFO is quick to shatter Izuku’s faith by revealing the truth about One for All, specifically that it originally came for AFO. Izuku gets a little boost when All Might defeats AFO, but AFO makes it clear that he mortally wounded All Might and the hero can't be that powerful anymore.
During this time, Izuku and Shigaraki are basically being raised as brothers. However, they’re brothers that fluctuate between getting on each other’s nerves, flat-out hating each other, and very rare bonding moments. When they first meet, Shigaraki hates Izuku’s original faith in heroes and Izuku thinks Shigaraki is creepy, and this sets a bad precedent for their whole relationship. The fact that AFO is obviously showing favoritism to Shigaraki doesn’t help matters. Stll, you can’t spend half your life around one guy without forming some kind of bond with them, even if it’s a part of a vicious, abusive cycle.
Oh yeah, AFO is being very manipulative and emotionally abusive towards Izuku in his attempt to make the kid turn villain. Although Izuku quickly learns to hide his wish for heroes to save him, AFO is still trying to make Izuku hate hero society and only praises him when he helps villains. AFO is constantly saying that he’ll give Izuku a quirk of his own once he’s proven himself to deserve it and AFO decides what quirk would best suit him. Unfortunately, Izuku develops a kind of Stockholm syndrome and craves appreciation from AFO and Shigaraki.
Izuku does still subconsciously know that this is wrong, but in some psychological misdirection he turns all his negative feelings about AFO’s emotional abuse towards the other pearson who used to abuse him: Bakugo. Now that Izuku has distance he recognizes that his friendship with Bakugo was very unhealthy, and starts to turn all of his built-up hate towards him.
Izuku finds his calling in quirk analysis. At some point he overhears Kurogiri, Shigaraki, and AFO planning some criminal activity and provides suggestions on making the most use of the quirks available. AFO and Kurogiri are impressed, and bring Izuku into the criminal organization to plan operations. This leads to Izuku earning the villian name “Analyst.” He is still a little hesitant at this point though, not wanting any civilians to get hurt.
Around the time Izuku is 13-early 14, AFO brings a new kid into the organization. Uraraka’s dad had died in a construction accident that killed several employees, so her family gets stuck with a lot of debt. The accident was actually caused by a hero being careless (probably Mount Lady) but nobody wants to blame the hero so it gets swept under the rug. AFO offers to pay Uraraka’s family’s debt if she comes to work for him and gives up on hero school, and a desperate Uraraka has no choice but to accept. She’s barely in the organization for a day and decides she likes Izuku a lot better than Shigaraki.
When Izuku was supposed to start high school, he somehow finds out that Bakugo not only got into UA, but got the top spot in the entrance exam. The fact that his childhood bully got into the best hero school throws Izuku into a rage and he finally decides to help with Shigaraki’s passion project: killing All Might at UA. He develops a plan to maximize the quirks they have at their disposal and counter the teachers’ quirks, but asks Shigaraki to wait until after the sports festival so he can take the student’s quirks into account. When Shigaraki refuses, Izuku finally comes out his rage and realizes he doesn’t actually want to hurt any of the students, except maybe Bakugou. He plans with Uraraka to keep the kids from getting too hurt, using the excuse that their focus needs to be on defeating All Might.
USJ attack happens, Izuku fights Backugo who recognizes him, eventually the pros show up and they have to retreat, but Shigaraki blames Izuku for the failure.
Izuku goes in disguise to see the sports festival for research. Izuku witnesses Todoroki fighting with Endevor, and the two have a heart-to-heart about hate. They exchange numbers because Todoroki likes talking to him and Izuku thinks he can turn Todoroki to his side. Todoroki ends up using his fire to upstage Bakugou, and eventually realizes where he’d seen Izuku before.
When Stain shows up at the bar, Izuku and Shigaraki are still fighting. The fact that Shigaraki doesn’t like Stain but Izuku agrees with his ideals doesn't help. Izuku and Stain hit it off, and although Stain basically said he wouldn't work with Shigaraki he does say he's interested in Izuku.
Shigaraki throws a temper tantrum and decides to attack Hosu, but Izuku goes in secret to talk to sSain, looking for "advice" but really just trying to find an ally that will take him away from AFO. He catches up just before Stain kills Iida. The 3 have a discussion about Heroes, Izuku reveals that he completely lost his faith in the system when Bakugo was accepted to UA. Eventually, Shigaraki sees Izuku talking to Stain and tells a nomu to pick him up. It's when the pros chase after the Nomu that they capture Stain. Later, Izuku receives a flashdrive in the mail containing Stain's manifesto, including directions to upload it.
When Stain's followers start flocking to the League of Villains, most of them connect with Izuku. There quickly becomes a clear divide between those that follow Shigaraki because VILLAINY, and those who follow Izuku. There's some tension between the two groups, but Izuku and Kurogiri mostly keep the peace.
This all comes to a head when Shigaraki announces his intention to recruit Bakugo. Izuku is livid and refuses to help plan the operation in any way. Eventually he threatens to leave. AFO gives Izuku his usual admonishment and reminder of the possibility of getting a quirk. Izuku finally realizes that AFO is never going to give him a quirk, and as long as he's in the LOVs he'll always be in Shigaraki's shadow, and he decides to actually leave. To his surprise, his half of the LOVs comes with him and they form "The Quirk Revolutionaries."
This is when things really get going.
