Gothamites are just a different breed of people. They literally could not give a single f*ck about anything. There attitude is ‘eh, not impressed’ mixed with ‘been there don that’ and ‘try harder’.

It’s bad but no one knows how bad until they move there. I’m convinced everyone who lives in Crime Alley has had there parents/grandparents live there, while the less dangerous parts of Gotham see more new faces. They don’t stay long but they pop up.

Batman doesn’t let the Justice League to Gotham and I think that’s fair. They are all to bright and happy. Everyone is so angsty it’s amazing. He doesnt let them in for their own protection. Mostly since they all thinks he’s dramatic. But he knows that that relaxed manner is going to get them hurt.

The only vigilante that has zero haters (besides criminals) is Red Hood. Like, he control the most dangerous part of Gotham every night, walks kids/girls/teens/anyone-who-asks home, regularly buys food for the homeless, reads to kids at the library at night/near closing, stops robberies, sometimes teaches people self defense, and tries to be really quiet bc the walls are thin.

Either him or Signal bc he’s a daytime hero and everyone loves him. Nice, new, and will help out work the mundane stuff.

That being said, the rest are liked too but so have their haters. Despite this, there are websites and videos of them all doing cute and funny stuff or the gothamites doing nice stuff for them.

There is a video of someone giving Spoiler an umbrella, she returned it the next day. Someone managed to find everyone and give them their own hand sewn plushies, and their reaction.

Mostly starting with them on a rooftop of a building, a person calls out. “Yo! (Insert name)! Come here real quick!”

They go over and the person pulls out the plushie.

Batman: *stares for a moment* thank you. Did you make this? The workman ship is amazing.

Nightwing: awwwww! This is so nice, thank you!

Red hood: imma admit it, this is the greatest moment of my entire life. Now, you are in a very bad part of Gotham and need to get to bed. I’ll walk you.

Red Robin: i adore this. I will keep it with me till I die.

Its insane seeing teenagers. Yes even 18 and 19 year olds. Posting about some of the most taboo edgeplay sadomasochism that clearly is some twisted combination maladaptive response to not loving themself and society glorifying sexual violence. I dont think creating spaces that encourage riskier and riskier play are healthy, but banning these practices pushes people who are dead set to do the extreme away from the safety of community and peer review.

A thought just came over me and i don't know whether or not this is a bad idea lol.

So reader right, having a motherly "spouse" thats a bit too overwhelming and protective?, Yep totally normal.

Price

He had Hephaestus forge him a special razor so he could always keep his mustache in check after an incident where he tried to use a human razor and broke it.

He wears human clothes, he does have his godly robes but he prefers to wear something that may be comforting for whatever sacrificial woman he has at a given moment.

Has debated no longer accepting the women as sacrifices

for a long string of time the women were just the horniest ones or the village prostitutes. While they were nice for a week or two he did end up finding them homes elsewhere

Gaz says he fosters women like cats.

Price isnt looking at fostering anymore though. This most recent accidental sacrifice has by far been his favorite. She’s so warm, causes no problem, and isn’t like the last one he got who owned 8 cats.

Price likes cats, just not 8 of them.

He also worries Zeus will try to take his woman

Which is why the woman is hidden and protected by Price’s powerful shield from anyone who tries to creep on her. He doesn’t want his woman threatened by Hera.

Hera already knows he has decided to marry this one, as the goddess of marriage and is probably the most proud of him compared to Zeus’ other bastard children.

Soap

He most often wears his godly armor instead of his robes or human clothes.

The human clothes are really only to go see Price, the robes are really only for relaxing in his house, but the armor is for working.

He has to really just follow around his dad, Ares

He doesn’t know his goddess mom, and Ares wont tell him. Honestly he questions if he’s even Ares because the relationship isnt very father-son, they’re more just like Coworkers

He says his mom is probably Aphrodite but who knows

He spends most of his time with Simon.

Simon is relaxed and comes to work with him sometimes. Usually accidentally causing a cold breeze with his presence.

Soap linda digs the dark robes, he hates how shiny his white ones are.

Definitely hides amongst humans when he gets pent up or frustrated from work.

Gods are so demanding in bed, he’d rather have a human.

With Price looking like he’s going to settle down with his newest sacrifice, Soap thinks about finding his own woman. Price’s helps him cook and clean and look like she’d take it with no problems. Soap kinda wants that now

Ghost

He’s a very antisocial god.

Price has tried to get him to loosen up.

Price has offered him the best of some of the sacrifices that he didn’t get along with.

Simon just hasn’t shifted.

He buddies around with Soap, says its because their work is the most similar.

In reality Soap is the one person he favors the most. Keegan is also up there, but he’s no Johnny.

He never understood why Price took the sacrifices of women. He doesnt bother with the mountain god who gets on his nerves. He loves Gaz but his social battery just dies.

He doesnt see anyone loving that.

Not to mention, he’s the god of Winter. His fingers are cold, his robes are a dark black instead of a beautiful white because he’s from the underworld, and he spends a lot of time down there as well.

He refuses to kidnap a woman how Hades had. Says he had standards and is too attractive for that. Tells people he’ll get a woman when he wants one.

Persephone worries about him. Persephone wants a daughter-in-law who can bring her cold son out of this.

Even Demeter worries, and she loves when he visits. She has no more work when he comes into town, she just wish he didn’t reek of death from the underworld.

Konig

You think Konig was tall at somewhere between 6’7” and 6’10”? Now he’s like 8 feet tall.

He’s probably the loneliest of all of gods, he lives at the top of his mountain (which is kinda like the one of Olympus where it was kinda just a glorified hill) and doesn’t get much company, unlike the 141 group.

He does wear a veil because of his anxiety, being a lonely god makes you self conscious, what if all the other gods are much more handsome?

He wears robes, unlike the 141 group, he doesnt try to blend in with humans so he only has his godly robes.

He doesnt often get sacrifices either, since his altar is at the top of the mountain. Its why he doesnt intervene when the war people come often.

If only there was a way to sacrifice someone to keep him company, he’d never need much more again.

Especially with Atlas holding up the world.

Zeus told him he was born from a single drop of Atlas’ sweat hitting the ground.

Konig has never met Atlas. So he wouldn’t doubt he maybe is secretly a Zeus child? However he doesn’t mind not being a Zeus child. Hera doesn’t give him problems and he likes it that way.

He cooks, he cleans. He’d do anything for someone to spend a bit of time with. He might start scoping out the local village and town again. Last time he was disappointed by all the interesting ones being taken, so he stayed at a distance. But maybe he’d try again.

Keegan

Work is always calling Keegan.

As Thanatos says, “humans wont stop dying, birthing, fucking, or breathing”

Keegan doesn’t disagree.

He has black robes, similar to Ghost’s as they’re both from the underworld. He has spent a great deal of time with Simon as he has to deal with people suffering from hypothermia in the harsh winters.

Simon doesn’t cold shoulder him like most others. Compared to the gods from the underworld, Keegan is quite friendly. He just knows people dont live forever.

Or he hasn’t learned Price can protect humans and living things from death yet.

He has a solid relationship with Thanatos. He cant complain especially next to Soap’s and Price’s situations

He hasn’t ever really spent time with the 141 group because he’s worried he’ll have to get up and leave randomly due to his job.

He also doesn’t have human clothes like they do. He often wonders where they came from.

His home is in the underworld, so he worries about a human living there if he ever were to take on a bride.

Maybe he’d find a nice goddess like Hades did. But Price makes humans seem so nice.

He just worries he wouldnt be home enough to care for his human or he’d have to take his human to work to make sure she got enough vitamin D… i mean he can always gives you vitamin D but it’s a different vitamin.

He’s also worried about touching a human because what if he accidentally kills them or something ridiculous like that?

Too many risks. Maybe. Unless someone is brave enough to prove them wrong.

Gaz

He saves a lot of dropped babies from serious damage. He never shows himself, always stays invisible to the human eye, but he saves a lot of babies.

Also saves a lot of kids. Toddlers and young children fall quite a bit.

He has the whitest and cleanest and shiniest robes btw

But yeah he loves saving kids. Especially when he can show his form because adults don’t believe kids anyway.

Especially if they say they were saved by a god.

He also saves quite a bit of animals. Like bird eggs.

He just prefers saving kids.

He thinks they’re really darn cute.

Wouldn’t mind a few of his own

Doesnt help Hermes keeps teasing him though.

Hermes never misses a chance to remind him he came from him jerking it on a cloud and letting it fall to the earth.

Hermes thinks its really funny.

Gaz wouldn’t hate a partner. Nymph, Human, or Goddess.

He’s taken a couple of them to bed and has to say Human is his favorite.

Sebastian makes Konig’s world a bit less lonely? However isn’t the most wonderful company.

He was actually carved from clay and given gifts from gods

Artemis made him a skilled hunter, Hades made him a quick thinker, Athena gave him tactical knowledge, Ares gave him strength, Apollo gave him impermeable skin, Zeus gave him a big dick, Eris gave him wild anger

The usual

His job is not terribly demanding and has quite a bit of free time to spend with Konig

He has big dark armor and a giant axe. Definitely has a lot of fun with it

his dream is to get a temple of his own and his own priestesses who would do his bidding and pray to him their city doesnt go on a hit list for the gods

He also dreams to get a virgin sacrificed to him.

He isnt greedy like Price when it comes to women, he just wants one. One is all he would need.

He’d never need to go around defiling random virgins anymore, he’d just get to have his virgin at home.

He’d love to have his own servant. He’d treat her well he promises. He’d love an embarrassed virgin for himself.

another old note I have about how Alastor & Vox's friendship ended

I think the idea is cute and dramatic that Alastor and Vox's friendship ended after Vox was so lovestruck and got overzealous, confessing to Al, only to get burned.

But.

Consider the following:

Vox and Al worked together for decades(give or take 20 years), they're best friends and know exactly how each other operate. Vox knows the reaction Al will give him if he confesses, especially that he wants Al as a romantic partner.

So Vox never does, not for years. He lives off being in Al's presence and company alone, and is contempt with that. For years. It gets frustrating, and hard to hide that Vox wants to go the extra mile. Alastor, naturally, spots the minute expressions on Vox everyday, and what does he do about it? Well he /teases/ Vox about it! Teases Vox affectionately about how often he flusters, messes up, short circuits, unknowing(or knowingly...) that it's not because Vox is just a silly picture box, incompetent at doing work without help. It's because of Al himself.

Gradually, Vox gets tired of this treatment. It's like chasing something he will never catch, a fishing line of meat indefinitely dangled infront of a shark.

And maybe, after all these years - Vox doesn't even love Al with the same capacity at tht point anymore.

By the time Vox confesses-- it's not out of puppy love. It's an ultimatum. You don't want to love me romantically? I can live with that. But will you atleast be by my side, in work? That you see and want me in any mutual sense possible. That I know the minute you tire of me, that I don't entertain you, everything between us won't be discarded? That worry consumes him the most. We have something to signify we are together. Vox needs something to show for all their friendship. Alastor is content with his say-so alone(something something nature/conception of radio. He IS the source. The originator of info).

So, moment of confession and Alastor --

A) doesnt take Vox's proposal seriously, "you're far too incompetent as a work partner"

B) is offended by Vox, who got too close and Al thinks Vox sees Al as vulnerable enough to need to ally with anyone(Not in weakness, but in capability. Al is very obsessed with his cryptid, detached from humanity, persona).

(Vox would still get all bashful and romantic though. He's just suddenly reminded why it wouldn't work out and why he pressured himself to force this decision after Alastor rejects him).

Either way, Alastor didn't want to appeal to Vox's needs even once. I feel like even in a friendship, there still has to be some sort of sway and compromise here and there, but it was just so suffocatingly one-sided for Vox. Fondness turns to hate, and we all know the story from there.

In their current rivalry status:

- Vox can throw a huge tantrum all he wants, slander and hatepost about Alastor on every big screen in Hell - show everyone that HE HATES THIS FUCKER.

- But in part, Alastor/as the Radio Demon being the (not literally but I feel his personality leans towards radio symbolism) originator/source of information, he is comfortable not caring about their feud because at the end of the day he is confident Vox isn't over him, or will continue to like/love him.

- That isn't to say Alastor isn't bitter in his own way. He and Vox had a good thing going on but 'oh Vox had to go and ruin that'. So he just expresses that with his own opinions by demeaning Vox's tech and using his own actions to prove that he doesn't need Vox or any of his proprietaries in ANY capacity whatsoever. Very telling.

Sorry its so late buf i am in an Edling mood tonight and I will never stop thinking about the idea of how theyre the epitome of right person wrong time.

(obviously in a context of like fandom shenannigans where canon events arent 100% set in stone like edling arent canon but also idc !! they are to me! im ignoring it let me be insane) ANYWAY

Even if they wanted to be together post promised day Ling has all the responsibilities of Xing and his clan and Edward would never hold him back from that for a second. Im of the opinion that brotherhood Edward feels a lot of guilt for wanting love from the people around him particularly those he sees as good (winry, alphonse, etc) especially if hes done things hes perceived as hurting them (maes’ death, the transmutation, etc etc). Which is why I think Edward connects with Ling so well cayse he doesnt carry the weight of a lot if his past mistakes, and then when the stone happens its like goddamn it i roped this guy into my shit again. Like i dont know Edward doesnt really dedicate himself so fully to people outside of winry and ed a lot so its interesting like!!

He cares about a lot of people like the majority of the allied cast and we see him be openly affectionate towards Nina and Hughes pre their deaths but I think Ling is the only person hes ever decided to stick with WITHOUT alphonse? I may be wrong but the whole sure Ill stay with you and trust my brother and Winry to stay safe and follow you around the outskirts of the east for a week till the promised day to protect my new friend is so??? what?? huh???

But anyone my point is post promised day Edward cant really ever see a future with Ling because of all the responsibility Ling holds outside of him and its veyr tragic imo like especially because in a different scenario if Ling didnt have those responsibilities and Edward wasn’t so dedicated to the people around him to a fault of never thinking about his own desires I think they could have the possibility of a future.

Like I have read a lot of fanfiction abiut Ed traveling to Xing and living with him there but?? I realistically cant see him ever doing that just solely because Edward is not the type of person to settle down! like its my one and only criticism of the fma manga is that I cannot see Edward ever being satisfied with a simple life? Like even in Fma 03 which is my favourite interpretation of Edwards character once he gets stranded in our world he learns?? Rocket Science?? For the chance to get back to Amestris but he doesnt really seem to take that goal all that seriously especially considered Alfons ends up getting involved in a lot more aircraft projects than Edward like Edwsrd genuinely enjoys learning!!

Im pretty sure he was the one who dragged Alphonse into Hoenhiems office when they were kids after he left, probably to Al’s reluctance of if they were allowed in there, and started ripping through all of his old books just to learn. Edward never stops and it gets so bad that he never stops to even consider himself constantly worrying about getting his brother back or improving the states of others lives especially when! ya know! the whole country is at stake!!

So in a circumstance post promised day where Ed decides what he wants to do (my personal favourite interpretation is either an alchemical researcher outside of directly performing alchemy, ie revolutionizing the circle matrixes and discovering nee combinations or becoming a professor of some kind) I dont think he would give that up to settle again. And obviously Ling cant exactly up and leave being Emperor unless he decides he doesnt want to, im not the most knowledgable on Lings characterization so I wont speak there but!

They have so much fun together and compliment each other and genuinely care about each other so much but their happiness and fulfillment as people to themselves and others make it so its nearly impossible they would ever realistically end up together and its really doomed and tragic!! idk i think about it a lot.

Why I gotta have the crackest ideas:

So this idea was inspired by all the 'Adam fell for Lucifer first but Lucifer can't bring himself to fall in love with Adam' ouch

Now be patient with me: SinnerAdam falls for Lucifer, but Lucifer finds Adam dull, boring and weak. So naturally all of Adam's advances fall flat.

Sinner!Adam then gives up and kills himself, far away from the Hotel. Using Niftys angelic knife, and then stab. As a goodbye he stationed a letter to Lucifer that'll arrive on a certain day.

NOW BE PATIENT WITH ME, we have a diff Adam, this Adam is from an alternative universe, a dystopian world where people have powers. This one, well he has a ton of baggage. This Adam isn't the first man, just someone born with powers, someone who's main purpose at a young age was to kill. Constantly drilled of the fact that he's just a cog, and someone dispensable.

He gets sent to another universe when a mission goes south. He arrives to Hell and his face to face with his lifeless body. It took atleast 10 minues for him to deduct his surroundings, studied this dead version of him (used his powers to copy the looks) and buried him.

So now this Adams roaming around Hell trying to find a way back to his Universe. He doesn't even know if his alternate self had a place to crash.

Thankfully a spider looking creature approaced Adam yelling about where his been and how Charlie was worried for him. Who was Charlie?

Adam doesnt see any harm in following the Spider and together they walked to the Hazbin Hotel.

Lucifer he thinks Adam ran away just to get his attention. So he starts avoiding him as punishment. He knows how Adam hates it when he does this.

BUT diff Adam doesn't know all these people. And he is very happy that the guy named 'Lucifer' was avoiding him since he reminds Adam of his dead lover (Michael).

And timeskip some fillers then bam, because of Adams change in personality Lucifer finds himself interested. What a bitch

Adam though, he isn't interested, at all, he already gave his heart to Michael, look where that got him. So his main priority is to figure out a way to go back.

For anyone who wants to know, Adam and Michael didn't end on bad terms. Adam was forced to kill him since he got brainwashed or smth. Idk as I said this is cracked.

Anyways Adam learning his humanity through hell, learning how to let go and possibly, maybe? Stop with the suicidal tendencise. (Like if he gets hurt he won't give a fuck and still willingly get himself hurt. No recovery period typa shit.)

And it ends with Adam leaving the dimsension.

It was a real problem, anyone could see that -- how choked up Y/N got around Hawkins' Freak Munson. Eddie had assumed it was because of just that, his freak status. Or maybe the way he wore his hair, or maybe it was his music that scared her.

Whatever it was, it made the metalhead's heart crush everytime he saw how visibly uncomfortable she was whenever he was around. One particular memory burned in his brain was when Hellfire held a campaign at Mike's house, Y/N had been there with Nancy.

Eddie remembered when Nancy had been ordered to take snacks to the club down in the basement and Y/N had followed; as soon as their eyes found each other Y/N grabbed Nancy's arm, whispering something inaudible before rushing as fast as she could back upstairs. It left him confused to say the least.

Last week though, was even weirder.

Y/N was with Nancy to pick up Mike, Eddie had remembered the way she lit up and slightly waved at him, her delicate lips mumbling a soft, "Bye Eddie." It was simple and sweet but he could not stop thinking about it.

If she had been scared of him like he originally thought why would she bother with goodbyes? Maybe she was just being nice -- it was in character for her anyway. He remembered how he had been shocked at how pretty her voice sounded, so taken back that he actually stuttered. "Oh yeah, b-bye."

Dustin Henderson made sure to not let him live that down. The freshman had told the Hellfire table that Monday how Eddie The Freak Munson had stuttered, and yes said freak slapped him upside the head for it.

All week he was thinking about Y/N. Eddie had always thought she was cute, even back in middle school when she had braces but now he felt like he was looking at her in a whole knew light. Shit, he thought to himself, he must been really lonely for a goodbye from a pretty girl to grind his gears for a whole week.

Y/N on the other hand, she was absolutely whole heartedly in love with him. She had been since watching him in the talent show years ago. The only other person who knew was Nancy who always was encouraging her to go for it and Y/N totally would, if she didn't become the world's biggest idiot in front of him.

It was so bad, Y/N couldn't even speak coherent sentences when he was around. Even when he had been nothing but polite to her, she still couldn't find words -- just her mouth gaping like a fish.

Graduation was coming into view so Y/N knew that if she didn't do anything she never would so, she asked Nancy if she could tag along with her while picking up Mike from Hellfire in hopes of seeing him.

Y/N had a big speak planned, how she was going to express her admiration for Eddie and how he makes her dumb but of course, the second she saw him all words left her. It was only when Nancy had nudged her shoulder did she muster up the courage to say goodbye.

That night Y/N was moping face down on her best friends bed, with her hand rubbing reassuring circles in her back. "I don't think it wasn't that bad." Nancy offered. But it was, Y/N knew it, Nancy knew it, hell the whole world knew it.

Y/N was hopeless.

She tried to go about her week like normal but all her thoughts surrounded the metalhead that stole her heart. Y/N snuck glances at him at lunch a lot, he was breathtaking.

It was the next Friday and Y/N had asked once again if she could tag along with Nancy, she was determined this time. Y/N had gone to Nancy's house immediately after school, allowing her to put on a little bit of makeup and fix her hair. "Eddie's sure to do a double take now."

Her and Nancy had gotten there a little early and decided to get out of the car to stretch their legs. Unlike last time, Y/N had no idea what her plan was she just hoped she could redeem herself.

Eddie was biting his nails all through the campaign, hoping he would see Y/N today. He knew it was probably unlikely but he couldn't help but get his hopes up. Dustin had been nothing but aggravating about Y/N all week, laughing at Eddie for getting nervous around her even though he can make a whole scene in the cafeteria unphased.

When it was over Eddie couldn't help himself, peeking outside and allowing a smile when he saw Y/N leaning up again the car next to Nancy. He had jogged a little ahead of the kids to get to her, ignoring the red that dusted her cheeks and chest he smiled, "Hey Y/N."

Her mind frozen once again as he flashed that adoring smile and Y/N had to take a second and force it to defrost before returning it. "Hey Eddie." Y/N twirled her hair between her fingers as a nervous habit. The two only looked at each other in awkward teen fashion before Dustin came up behind Eddie.

"He really likes you Y/N, you made him stutter!"

"Jesus Christ Henderson-"

Eddie went to grab the little twerp but missed as Dustin ducked into the backseat. It was Eddie's turn to sport the red on his cheeks, scratching the back of his neck. He couldn't tell if the look on Y/N's face was a good shock or a bad shock.

"Hey, I'm uh, I'm sorry about him he has this thing where-" Eddie had tried to explain but was shut up but small hands gripping his face, pulling it down to meet cherry flavored lips.

Y/N had done it. She actually did it! Granted she still hadn't really said anything but she was so overwhelmed at the mere thought of Dustin being right that she just acted on impulse.

Eddie's hands found her waist, pulling her closer to him as he intended on deepening the kiss, earning a sigh from Y/N. A hard bang on the window broke them free, "Hey love birds break it up! I'm ready to go home!" Mike yelled from the backseat, leaning over Dustin and earning a slap from Nancy.

Eddie grunted in disappointment against her lips as he met her eyes, for once she was the one to speak up. "I like you. A lot. I like you a lot." Y/N bit her lip, her hands moving down from Eddie's jaw only to be caught by his rough ones. His thumbs stroked her wrist as Eddie laughed, "I like you too, in case it wasn't obvious."

Y/N giggled before they were startled by another bang, "Let's GO." Eddie rolled his eyes and banged back before cupping Y/N's cheek, "Maybe I can call you later?" She nodded continuing to bite her lip, "Yeah, okay." Eddie snuck another kiss before turning and heading to his van, leaving her breathless.

"Y/N LET'S GO!"

"I'm coming! Jesus Mike."

i feel like you are one of the only people ive seen that doesnt immediately believe gon fell in love with killua in the hunter exam arc. i feel like it's dismissive of his character, it bothers me. what are your thoughts?

Hi! Sorry for taking so long answering! I wanted to write a good answer to this because I do actually have a lot of thoughts about it, so thank you for the ask! This ended up really long and as more of an analysis on their relationship in general… I want to preface this by saying that everything in this post is simply my interpretation of the characters, and that it’s only one interpretation of many. Just because how someone else interprets their relationship is different from mine doesn’t mean I think they’re wrong, it just means we see them differently! If you read this post, I hope you are able to see my point of view!

Although Killugon is one of my favourite ships ever, introducing romantic feelings so early into their dynamic makes their relationship feel less meaningful to me. I think that their friendship is more narratively important than their romance — and I think that both of them would be okay with the other not returning their feelings because being together is more important to them than being together romantically.

One of the things that makes their relationship so special is their friendship!! Their friendship is the foundation of their relationship, and the romance exists on top of it, not before it. Although I don’t think that romantic feelings would necessarily change their motivations and actions, I do think that it would alter how the audience would perceive them! And when we look at their actions through a romantic lens, it changes how we view their motivations.

For example, to me, the reason Killua approached Gon at the beginning of the Hunter Exam and wanted to become friends with him isn’t because he had a crush on him at first sight, but because he wants to have a friend his age and to feel like a kid. Even if it’s that he developed a crush on him later in the exam, I think that the idea of him already having been attracted to Gon or even in love with him during the Hunter Exam takes away from the importance of friendship to Killua, since the climax of Killua’s character in this arc is when he declares that he just wants to be friends with Gon when he feels like he can’t even have that.

I don’t think Killua really thought that anyone would be willing to confront his family for him because that’s literally an insane thing to do?? But Gon did it!! And I think that Gon being that insane and willing to risk his life for Killua is what really dragged him out of the darkness and gave him the devotion to be insane right back at him.

On the other hand, with Gon, I feel like, when viewed through a romantic lens, his motivation during the Zoldyck Family Arc typically becomes that he’s going after Killua because he’s already developed feelings for him in the Hunter Exam Arc, which as you may have guessed, I don’t agree with. To me, that was something he’d have done for any of his friends — if Kurapika or Leorio suddenly started acting strangely and had run off when it seemed clear to Gon that they didn’t want to leave, I think he’d have chased after them, too.

We know that Gon is the type of person who would even risk his life to try to save someone he barely knows (if he likes them), like on the boat on the way to the Hunter Exam! And if I’m being completely honest, I don’t think Killua was even a particularly special friend to Gon until partway through Heaven’s Arena… If Killua hadn’t followed him and they didn’t speak ever again, Killua would’ve just been someone cool that he’d met and that he would no longer think about, and I definitely don’t think he had any romantic feelings for him by then.

That’s not to say that Killua wasn’t someone he considered a friend, just that I think that, at the time, to Gon, it was like when you make a friend at summer camp and then you lose contact as soon as you part ways. And while to Killua, Gon’s actions during Zoldyck Family Arc gave him this unpayable debt and made Killua extremely devoted to Gon, I don’t think it meant that much to Gon because again, I think this is something that he’d have done for any of his friends. However, by the end of Heaven’s Arena, I do think Killua has become someone who is special to Gon — on Whale Island, Gon tells Killua that he’s his first friend his age, and more than that, he’s someone that he wants to stay with.

In that same scene, they tell each other that they’re their first friend (their age). To me, this is something that informs so much of their dynamic — they don’t know what being friends with someone “normally” looks like, which is part of why they’re so insane!! And because of this, it’s important to me that there is at least a small period of time before this where that’s all they were — friends, no romantic feelings involved.

Their insanity extends to romance, but is not because of it — their friendship is the most important part of their relationship. This is why even during the needle scene, where I feel like I can say that I definitely think that Killua has feelings for Gon at this point (his reactions during the “it has to be Killua scene,” the “Gon, you are light scene,” etc.), the emphasis is on how Gon is precious to him because he’s his friend, even though he is probably in love with him.

That friendship foundation is so important to how I see Gon and Killua and honestly, beyond the whole “viewing their actions through a romantic lens changes how we perceive them” thing, I just… don’t see either of them as being in love by the end of the Hunter Exam! These reasons are why it’s important to how I interpret their characters for there to be a period of time where their feelings are purely platonic.

Also, as an add-on, personally, I think that there’s a chance that Gon doesn’t return Killua’s feelings in canon even at their separation since nothing that he’s done, said, or thought has felt as explicitly romantic in nature as Killua. BUT I really like the idea of Gon pining for Killua on Whale Island during their separation, haha. The earliest I can conceive of when Gon starts developing feelings for Killua is Greed Island and a lot of it has to do with the shift in their dynamic — it’s when Gon starts really saying things to demonstrate his appreciation of Killua!!

HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean I perceive his actions as romantic in nature from his perspective. For example, while “it has to be Killua” is a romantic line, I don’t think Gon said it with romantic intent (nor that he’d be aware of them yet if he did have them)! I think that that was more for Killua, as well as planting the seeds in the reader’s mind for their romance, rather than a confession from Gon. Plus, imagine if he’d confessed his feelings for Killua to TSEZGUERRA instead of Killua when Killua is RIGHT THERE…

The other reason why Greed Island is the time where I think Gon is most likely to have developed feelings for Killua is because I really don’t think he was focusing on Killua in the same way in Chimera Ant Arc and it’d be a strange point in their relationship for romantic feelings to develop to me… I can’t imagine any of the moments in Chimera Ant Arc as being one where Gon would have developed feelings for Killua, or where he would have realized them. I like the idea that his realization happens sometime either during or after the separation the most!

On the other hand, I think that Killua probably had feelings for Gon by the start of Greed Island and realized them either during the dodgeball match or the “Gon, you are light” scene because they had the most romantic undertones to me from Killua’s side :) and I think that Killua could have developed them at any point after the Zoldyck Family Arc.

I think that the way that their relationship develops is so beautiful and subtle that the romance ultimately feels very ambiguous. I don’t think that there is one specific point where we can say that either of them developed or realized any romantic feelings for each other definitively, and I don’t think there are any ideas that are necessarily wrong about when either happened, just ones that don’t align with each other! There are only different interpretations and ones that don’t align with each other and this post is only representative of my personal interpretation :) I hope this answered your question, Anon! - yeah because jisung is such a smug little shit something, stealing kisses here and there. but the MINUTE you catch him off guard - perhaps when he has just gotten out of the shower, towel wrapped around his waist - and trail kisses on his back, his whole body freezes. he feels blood rush to his cheeks as he slowly starts to relax into you touch, letting you kiss wherever you want...

- why are you making me cry okay YES jeongin isn't a massive PDA person but the small things matter most. and there's nothing that gives him more butterflies than interlinking pinkies with you. there's something so gentle and even vulnerable about the act that makes his heart flutter.

- you're making me DIZZY imagine you sitting in his studio (the way every single bangchan ff starts off in) and sitting on his lap while he does his work. but he's getting frustrated and it's late at night and all he wants to do is go home and cuddle up to you and sleep. having you in his arms relaxes him way more than if he was by himself. but sometimes he will feel mischievous and lean closer, a small grin on his features as he lightly grazes his lips against the skin of your neck. he responds to your shivers by getting a bit more heated, lightly sucking on your skin as you lean in deeper... he has you right were he wants you.

- felix loves baking dates and will gladly spend the whole day trying new recipes with you and making delicious treats! but by the time you guys finished, you realise it's dark out. so, what's for dinner? all your cookies and brownies and other goods, of course! you two bask in your amazing baking skills as you cuddle up on the sofa, exhausted and filled to the brim with your own creations.

- seungmin surprises himself when he re-reads things he's written in his diary way in the past. "did you really feel that way?" he mused out loud, whilst you look over at him from the other side of the bed, smiling gently. soemtimes he would read certain entries to you out loud; the ones that aren't too personal and deep. just light-hearted ones that'll make you laugh. or ones about his feelings for you <3

- oh he ain't letting you go. and say goodbye to your lungs because they've gone too. i see chnagbin fully tackle you to the ground in a smothering hug because he hasn't seen his baby in so long?? what else is he supposed to do?? nope he's not letting you go, and so you'll just have to stay pressed up against his chest, big soft arms wrapped around you, and aggressive kisses from every single angle.

Norman is a totally normal boy with a completely normal family. Hes an only child so its just him, his mom and dad. They love him dearly and try their best to raise him correctly. Normal right? The only thing not normal about his family is him which is weird because his name is "Normal" with an N instead of an L. Yeah I lied when I said he was normal.

Norman has a little frog under his hat named Froggo. He loves reptiles a lot but loves frogs the most which is why his hat resembles a lilly pad. He will not believe frogs are not reptiles and no matter how many facts you throw at him he will likely call you gay at the end of it. If he likes you he will talk endlessly about frogs and/or reptiles and he wont stop unless something trivial catches his attention. If he doesnt like you he quite literally will not speak to you at all.

Craig. Doesnt he look like Craig? He doesnt know who Craig is. He has no idea who the guy is which makes you wonder why Craig doesnt like him. They met each other one day and Norman would not stop asking who Craig was. It was- Just imagine this:

"Hey."

"Hi. Who are you?"

"Im Craig."

"Who?"

"Craig."

"Whos Craig."

"Me? I just told-"

"Craig... I have no idea who Craig is."

"Craig is ME."

"My name is Norman. Whos Craig?"

"Dude. Im Craig..."

"Oh. Wanna see my frog?"

"Not really."

"What?! Frogs are cool what-"

"Look I just need you to understand who Craig is. I am Cra-"

"No I dont. Could you tell me who he is? People keep saying I look like him."

"We look nothing alike. Look my name is-"

"Anyway about frogs did you know that [insert very long paragraph on frogs]?"

"Shut up, Norman. Stop talking."

"You must not like frogs... Weirdo."

"No I dont have anything against frogs I- Im leaving."

Would you hate Norman too?

Norman knows he is gay. He is fully aware and uses that to his advantage. He will call anything gay and anyone a fag. He will not stop. Oh youre on your phone too much? Thats gay. You like men? Thats gay. You study for an exam? Thats gay. Youre depressed and in need of a hug? Fag. Why he does this? Scientists have yet to figure it out. Now Norman is in fact in a relationship. Who is he dating? Some kid named Chris. To see gay art of them look into their blog @normris wanna see me cry of yippe? Follow it peas. (And thats how you sell a product)

What is Normans favorite food? Oh its just the most delicious meal ever. Broccoli. Just loves it so so much. Why? No one knows. As far as his parents know they accidentally deprived him vegetables trying to keep him happy. Norman was a quiet baby and they thought he was sad so they spoiled him. He was not sad. He just had beef with his parents because he was shaken up in the womb. Anyway about broccoli!!!! He loves the stuff. He eats it as a snack, for every meal, even just randomly takes some out of his pocket and chows down. His boyfriend recalls the time he pulled out a pack of frozen broccoli while they were coloring together.

Our last unsettling fact about Norman is that he doesnt like the bible. No this is not because his parents are atheists. Its because they encourage him to believe in anything he wants. Because of his he believes in a frog god. Why does he hate the bible? Because it, and I quote, "made the snake a bad guy. Snakes are cool maybe he just wanted eve to be healthy. The bible is gay."

Canto V and Ishmael's suicidal ideation

When the trailer for Canto V came out the narration over it and the tone gave me a lot of vibes of themes of suicidal ideation.

It wasnt present in the way id expect, but it was there and id like to talk about it

1. Her days prior to the Pequod

Ishmaels life before being a sailor isnt talked about much in her Canto, what we see though is pretty interesting

She expresses how she has come to hate the expectations, you work your ass off studying, getting degrees, applying to offices, to net you the job and life everyone says you should have.

A very interesting point to make is how she talks about it. The dread she feels as she expresses that thinking ahead thinking how this is gonna be her whole life, makes her feel empty.

"I didnt know if i wanted to die or if i just wanted my life to be different" [paraphrasing here] is a line we hear in this scene, however its followed up by her saying if she had to die somewhere itd be at the sea. She is unsure if what she wanted was to die, but her actions and thoughts point us that way, she frames it as where she wants her final resting place to be

2. The Pequod

Ishmael is from Ucorps Nest, The Great Lake should not be uncommon knowledge to the residents, a place full of monsters, where its known sailors who cant take it anymore jump into the waves to be free. And this is the place she wished to go to. She makes a desicion to join a ship that would take just about anyone to hunt whales.

In that gesture we see more of the previously mentioned thinking, she says shes not sure she wants to die but jumped into one of the most dangerous jobs around pretty quickly

In the Pequod she also experiences more trauma that leads her downwards even more, a controlling figure, molding everyone there into who they want them to be, a constant fear of death, endless fights against monsters, and eventually the loss of who she loved.

But its also a moment where we are shown, once she found some support, once she and Queequeg started working together towards a life goal she became determined to survive, she had a clear idea of where to go, a compass to follow. Before it was taken away.

3. Limbus Company, and Canto V

During the events of Limbus Company prior to Canto V we see Ishmael as a pretty driven person, she doesnt wanna die, at first, shes kept alive by a singular goal to find Ahab

By 4.5 and V we see this is, again, a self destructive endeavor

Her unique status effect "Compulsion" during the chapter is a way to communicate shes hurting herself constantly during this Canto, her usual ability to keep calm to not be consumed by her fears, worries, obsessions and compulsions falls apart

Ishmael at many points doesnt seem like she wants to come back alive, she willingly enters into the body of the whale only knowing she has something that can delay pallidification, not having a good plan to escape. She constantly tosses herself into danger, not caring how she gets hurt.

One of the more interesting tidbits is entering the dungeon. The first EGO gift she gains, exclusively applying effects to her, is a noose.

Its a culmination of the message, shes been hurting herself this whole time, she charges ahead, to kill that bastard, to kill Ahab. If she dies, its fine by her

And then the turning point is on the CG used for this section, another blatant gesture of letting her own life go, letting the membrane form around her, letting herself be consumed.

When shes broken out out the membrane it mirrors queequeg saving her in the past, the person who made her think of the future for once, to WANT to have a future.

Its the moment she realizes the sinners have been there for her, she has blinded herself to not think of any of the good moments, not even the ones she had with Queequeg.

She realizes shes not alone anymore

And she wants to live, somehow, she might not know how, but that hasnt stopped her before

Her compass is curiosity after all, she will find her path.
