After a brief conversation with Dr. Strange and Loki, they send Peter back in time two weeks before his trip to MoMA gets interrupted by the earth being invaded.
Peter with his excellent 10/10 people skills uses his humour to help everyone's mood become better, ultimately changing their fates. It's as they say that laughing is the best medicine. Spider-Man makes sure to utilize that as best he can.

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x OFC
Summary: After being experimented on as a young child and given abilities, Daniela has become a highly skilled member of the Avengers, and has even been assigned to mentor Peter Parker. Little does she know that the happiness she’s been able to find will become threatened by the very people who started her on her path long ago.

Daniela slowly wakes up to the sun shinning on her face with Bucky’s arm draped across her waist and his face in the crook of her neck. His chest was to her back and she could practically feel his abs through her tank top, he smelled amazing, like sandalwood and sage. Every nerve in her body was tingling and she couldn't stop smiling like an idiot. He was just so warm, comforting, and honestly being in his arms felt so right, as much as she hated to admit that to herself.
Feeling this way wasn't like Daniela, she wasn't some girl who got feelings; she's been a soldier her entire adult life, she rarely ever let herself be vulnerable and catch feelings for someone. Not that she considered emotions a weakness, they were more of a distraction and she couldn’t afford that in her line of work. Part of her wanted to just go back to the way things were before he offered to help her, back to when she suffered alone in Tony's lab. Then again, she hasn't been this happy, ever. Her entire life has been pain and regret, every second of every day she felt on edge; but for some reason, when she was with Bucky, all of that melted away. He made her forget about all of it, the stress, anxiety, and guilt; he constantly reminded her that it was possible to move on and feel somewhat normal.
After taking a deep breath, Daniela shakes herself from her thoughts and mentally curses herself for showing up at Bucky's door again. She knew he didn’t mind, he’s never been one to complain, but every time she stayed the night, the harder it was for her to leave the next morning. If it was up to Daniela, she'd stay in Bucky's bed all day wrapped up in his arms, feeling his breath tickle the back of her neck, while having his heartbeat calm her and reminder her that she was safe; but she had responsibilities, and unfortunately those were more important.
“You awake?”
Bucky’s voice brings Daniela back to reality, “Um,” she clears her throat nervously, “yeah.”
He pulls her closer to his chest and nuzzles his nose into the back of her neck, causing her stomach to do a backflip, “You sleep alright?”
She smiles softly, “Yeah, you?”
“Sure did,” he sighs slowly and reaches for her hand with the arm that was underneath her neck, “I seem to sleep better when you’re here.” He intertwines their fingers and smiles to himself.
Daniela bites her lip while she watches him play with her fingers, loving his surprisingly soft hand, “Well, I’m glad I can help you out too then,” she goes to get up, but he pulls her back onto the bed by their still intertwined hands, causing her to face him, “what're you doin’?”
Bucky shrugs and pulls her into his chest, which causes Daniela to put out a hand instinctively to keep him away, making him look to her confused, “I’m not gonna hurt you, just wanna hold ya.”
She takes a centering breath, but doesn't move her hand, “Um, why?”
He chuckles a bit, “Why not? Being this close botherin' ya or something?” He pauses and raises a brow when she says nothing, “Never has before.”
She shakes her head, not wanting to hurt him, but still afraid to be completely honest, “Um, it’s just that I have to start training Parker today, I can’t stay,” which came out a lot harsher than she intended.
He narrows his eyes and loosens his grip around her, “If you don’t wanna stay, just tell me. You’re not gonna hurt me.”
Daniela studies his face for a moment, feeling a pang of guilt for not being honest. If she wasn't so closed off and stubborn, she would've already told him the truth by now. Being with Bucky in his room was really the only place she felt normal, like she could really be herself and actually relax. When he held her close, talked to her for hours while tracing circles on her skin, she finally knew what true bliss felt like. Despite all those wonderful things, her mind always circled back to the same question; what if he didn't feel the same? For all she knew, he didn't cherish those moments like she did and he was just comforting her, like any good friend would.
Daniela blinks slowly and takes a deep breath, "That's not what I said."
He rolls over onto his back, keeping one arm underneath her waist while closing his eyes, “I know.”
Daniela frowns slightly and decides to change the subject, “You wanna come with me? Peter could use all the help he can get. Plus, it’d give you a chance to get to know him better.”
He smirks slightly, but doesn’t open his eyes, “Nah, he’s your problem.”
She chuckles, “He’s not a problem, Barnes, he’s part of the team now,” she pokes his chest and he wrinkles his nose, in that adorable way he does when he doesn’t want to do something, “so get up and at least come downstairs to get coffee. Please, for me?”
Bucky sighs heavily, “It’s like you know I have a problem saying no to you,” Daniela smiles triumphantly and moves to get up, “I’ll be down in like 20 minutes.”
She stands up from the bed and looks back to him, “Why,” she stretches a bit and giggles lightly, “need to put on some makeup before you join us?”
He chuckles and opens his eyes, “Well, I wouldn’t want Parker to think that I don’t wear any, he may look at me different,” Daniela rolls her eyes and Bucky stretches his arms out and rests them behind his head, “I just wanna take a shower.”
Unfortunately for Daniela, Bucky still wasn’t wearing a shirt, which was highly distracting. She starts to stare at his defined abs and bites her lip, which he notices and smiles deviously at her, “See something you like, Dani?”
She shakes her head and looks around his room, “No, just thinking that I need to take a shower too.” She spots a blue sweater on his desk chair, makes her way over to it, and pulls it over her head, “I’m taking this by the way,” she turns around to face his mirror and starts putting her hair up into it’s usually braid, “I’ll give it back later.” As Daniela's looking at herself in the mirror, she catches Bucky's gaze, “What?”
He looks away quickly, “Nothing, but I think we both know you’re not gonna give that back,” he looks to her again, “you already have two other ones, including my favorite red one.”
Daniela bites her lip nervously, looks back to the mirror, and goes back to fixing her hair, “Do not.”
He shrugs slightly, “If it bothered me I would’ve already asked for ‘em back. It’s fine.” He pauses for a moment and then continues, “They look better on you anyway.”
She chuckles as she finishes up her braid and then turns to face him, “I dunno why you’re being so nice, but it won’t get you whatever it is you want.”
Bucky bites his bottom lip and looks her up and down slowly, then meets her eyes again, “What makes you think I want something?”
She crosses her arms and shifts her weight to one leg, “The only time you really compliment me is if I’ve killed someone.”
“Really?” She nods and Bucky smiles, “I’ll have to work on that then.”
Daniela narrows her eyes, “That’s not what I meant and you know it.” He only smiles back, “Anyway, go take your shower so you can come down and talk to Parker for a bit,” he doesn’t move so she continues, “it’d mean a lot to him if ya did.”
“Alright, alright.” He groans and then moves to the edge of the bed, hanging his feet off the edge, "You wanna join me? You did say you had to take a shower too, so we might as well save some water." He winks and smiles.
Daniela chuckles and feels her cheeks begin to burn, "Nah, I've got my own shower with my own setup, but uh, thanks." He stands up and she immediately looks to the ceiling, "Um, you wanna cover yourself or something?" Bucky wasn't wearing a shirt, so all he had on was a pair of black boxers. Not that Daniela minded, he was gorgeous, but what did catch her unexpected attention was the bulge he had.
"Oh grow up," she hears him walk towards the bathroom while her eyes don't leave the ceiling, "it's morning, what do you expect?"
She looks to the bathroom a bit confused, slowly blinking, "What does that even mean?"
Bucky chuckles, "Have you never heard of mornin' wood?"
"Oh," it's silent for a moment, then Bucky peaks his head around the corner, raising an eyebrow, "I have okay, I'm not naive, just didn't realize that's what you meant."
He rolls his eyes, "Whatever." He was about to look away when he stops and smiles devilishly, "So are you still set on your own shower? 'Cause that means I'll have to take care of this myself."
Daniela scowls at him in annoyance, "Why are you like this?"
He chuckles, “Oh come on, Velikov, you just said you're not naive! It's first thing in the morning and you, ya know, look like that, I mean could those shorts be any shorter?" He gestures to her legs while slowly looking her over, making Daniela look down at herself then back up to Bucky in confusion, "Then you go and wear my shirt! It’s just, it’s too much for a guy to handle so early.”
She stares at him for a moment and blinks a few times, “Wait. This is my fault?”
Bucky shrugs, “You're not helping.”
She crosses her arms, “Have you not been laid in a while or something?”
His brows went high, “Don't kid yourself, frosty, I do fine.”
Daniela rolls her eyes, “Alright,” she goes to turn back around, but stops, “does this mean you want your shirt back?”
Bucky smiles, “Only if you’re gonna stay and give me a strip tease.” He winks.
She groans and walks to the door, “I’m leaving!”

Every morning Daniela wakes up at 4 AM, goes for at least a 7 mile run, then heads to the gym to do some free weight training. When she first got to the compound Natasha told her she would adjust better if she had a daily routine. Natasha was right, like always, Daniela has had the same routine for almost 3 years now, and it’s really helped. Sometimes it varied depending on if she was on a mission, but if she was at the compound, it typically stayed the same.
After Daniela had gone back to her own room and taken a shower, she quickly changed into her workout gear. She knew she was running late for the day because the sun was up already, but she hadn't bothered to even check her watch or look at her phone to see how late. She didn't think it was that big of a deal, she planned on getting some coffee on her own and then waking up Peter so that they could go for a jog. There wasn't a real set schedule for today, she hadn't really thought about it much, suppose she could do that over coffee. Once she's all changed, she heads downstairs to the kitchen, hoping for some alone time, unfortunately she wasn't that lucky. When she gets there, she finds Rhodes sitting at the counter and Tony standing across from him near the sink holding a coffee cup.
Daniela sighs, not wanting to make small talk, but she knew it was necessary, “Hey Tony, Rhodes,” the men stop talking and look to her, “how are you guys?”
“Mornin’ Velikov,” Rhodes smiles and pats the stool next to him, "we’re doin' good." She smiles and sits down next to him, “Did you sleep alright? That storm was pretty bad, sorry I didn't warn you.”
Daniela shrugs, “The best I could ya know, considering.” She decides to change the topic and looks to the coffee pot, seeing that it was empty. She sighs and then pouts up at Tony, “You guys didn’t save me any?”
“How mean do you think I am?” Tony chuckles, “That one’s yours,” he points to a cup near him, “and Parker is outside waiting on ya. Said he wanted to stretch before you guys went jogging.”
Daniela raises an eyebrow and reaches for the coffee cup, “How does he know what time I get up?”
“I believe Natasha told him,” Rhodes answers, “he was asking her about what kind of routine to expect.”
“Well, I would've gotten down here sooner, I just didn’t expect him to be up and ready by,” she looks to her watch and her eyes widen, “8 AM?! Who let me sleep in so long?” Tony and Rhodes give each other a look, “What?”
Rhodes shakes his head, “Tony went to go wake you up at five cause he was worried, ya know, you never wake up late. You’re predictable as hell.”
Daniela raises an eyebrow, “That doesn’t sound like a compliment."
Tony speaks up next, ignoring her comment, and without looking up from his paper, “When I got to your room, you weren’t there,” he pauses to take a drink of his coffee, “did you sleep in my lab again or somethin’?”
Daniela takes a sip from her cup, “No.”
Tony rolls his eyes and finally looks to her, “You realize this entire place has cameras, plus FRIDAY.” He starts drumming his fingers on the counter top when she doesn’t answer, “Don’t make me interrogate you like a teenager.”
“Stark,” she says coldly, voice darkening, “I was tortured for a better part of my existence, do you really think you are gonna get much outta me?”
Rhodes sighs next to her and shakes his head while looking down at his cup, “I told you to not ask her Tones.”
It didn't really bother Tony that Daniela wanted to keep a secret from him, what bothered him was that she sounded like she felt she had too. Her demeanor and cold tone was enough for him to know that she didn't want to divulge where she truly had been. Tony and her were close, he'd even helped her through several storms himself. She'd come down to his lab and they'd work on one of his cars or a new suit, laugh, and talk about everything; then next thing they knew, it would be morning and the storm was over.
Tony purses his lips and looks back to his paper, "We'll talk about this later."
Daniela takes another sip from her cup and hums happily, “I think you’re the only one who knows how I like my coffee, Tony.”
“Two sugars and skim milk,” Daniela looks to the entryway of the kitchen to see Clint walk in, “cause you’re weird.” He sits down next to her, looking at her cup with a disgusted face, “Skim milk is not milk, Dani.”
“But around Christmas,” Bucky soon comes in as well, “you get that peppermint shit from Whole Foods.” He smiles and goes to the cabinet to grab a mug.
Tony smirks while looking at his paper, “You’re both wrong, but at least you tried.”
Daniela smiles while Clint and Bucky look to each other confused, “That’s how I know who my real friends are.” She leans forward and kisses Tony on the cheek, then walks towards the entryway, “See you guys later!”
Clint looks to Tony once Daniela was gone, “Alright, I'll bite, how does she like her coffee?”
Tony looks up and scoffs, “Yeah, like I’m gonna tell you. Be observant and you’ll figure it out.”
Bucky tilts his head at Tony, a bit confused, “Who am I thinking of then? Cause I know someone around here gets that stuff, just assumed it was her.”
Tony tries to hold back a chuckle, but is unsuccessful, “Wilson.”
Bucky hangs his head and sighs, “Damn pigeon is ruining my life.”

Daniela walks outside and is surprised to find Peter laying out in the grass on his back, completely passed out. He was in the middle of the large lawn, sun shining down on him, not having a care in the world, he looked so peaceful. Part of her felt bad for the kid, he confided in her a few weeks ago that he hadn't been sleeping well, said he's been so stressed out with classes that he can't rest his mind when it’s time for bed. Wanda offered to help him out, but he didn't want that, he wanted to figure it out on his own, classic Peter really. If it was truly up to Daniela, she would've just let him sleep, even if it was in the middle of the lawn, because Lord knows the last time that boy’s actually slept. Unfortunately though, today was the beginning of training, so she had to wake him.
Sighing as she finishes her coffee, Daniela sets the empty mug on the patio table, and looks over Peter once more, thinking how exactly to wake him up. She stretches out her fingers, wiggles them a bit, then rubs her palms together in a quick circle, making a small snowball. Even though Tony told her to be nice, well actually the whole team did, she wasn’t going to be a bucket full of sunshine, it just wasn't in her nature. If Tony wants him trained, he was going to have to deal with her methods, which weren’t always the safest.
Daniela quietly walks down the patio steps towards him, despite his spidey-sense he didn’t seem to notice, which goes to show how exhausted the kid really was. Stopping a few feet short of him, she shakes her head slowly, then throws the snowball, hitting him in the face. As soon as the cold snow hits him he’s up in an instant, dazed as hell, looking around anxiously, then falls back down.
Daniela crosses her arms and watches him, “Staying alert at all times, rule number one,” Peter relaxes a bit when he recognizes her voice, “I could’a killed ya, Parker.”
He sighs and wipes his face to get the remaining snow off, “Sorry, Dani, must’ve dozed off there.” He chuckles lightly.
She offers her hand to help him up, “Are you ready to go or do you wanna sleep some more?”
Peter takes her hand and she helps him up, “No, I’m ready! I’ve been up since six and have had like 5 cups of coffee.”
“Oh sweet Moses.” She sighs and stretches her arms a bit, “Do you do much jogging?”
“Um,” he looks behind Daniela while he thinks, “does running after bad guys count?”
Trying to hold back a smile, she shakes her head, “Uh, no.”
“Then not really." De walks up closer and then stops, “Alright this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but I don’t wanna get in trouble or anythi—"
She watches him as he rambles, eventually holding up a hand to get him to stop, “Just ask me, there’s no such thing as a stupid question. Didn’t you learn that in school?”
He chuckles, “Oh right, um, okay, so is it still okay if I still call you Dani? Or do I need to call you Sergeant? Or ma'am?”
Daniela’s eyebrows go up and his question, “Um, let’s go with whatever you feel comfortable with. This isn’t the army anyway, so I won’t force it on ya to be so formal, okay?”
He smiles big, "Okay, yeah, sure, thanks Dani."

Training with Cap is like living the dream - that is, until he comes in sick one day and has an asthma attack. That part is not so much living the dream.

Mr. Stark places the back of his hand against Peter’s forehead, realises again he’s wearing gauntlets and Peter is wearing a mask, and retracts it. “Friday, does he have a fever?”
“Oh my god,” Falcon says. “What kind of hellscape did knock-off Harry Potter throw us into? Are you parenting him right now?”

After not seeing Peter for over a week, Tony Stark gets a frantic call from May Parker. Due to her call, he makes his way to her apartment only to find Peter dangerously ill. Despite his high fever, profuse vomiting, and blaring headache, he refuses to go to the hospital or to Bruce. The question is- why? Tony knows there's something more to this than Peter is telling him.

What kind of demon drug can make someone go blind by inhaling a single lungful? Whatever it is, Tony doubts it’s reversible. And while Peter’s no idiot, he can be idiotically optimistic. He's determined to fix what appears to be unfixable.

Tony whirled around so fast he knocked a bottle of champagne off a nearby table.

I bit the inside of my cheek watching Happy stitch up peters back. Peter made me go first so, the cut on my arm was already threaded back together. “Ouch!” said Peter softly as Happy poked the needle into him once again. “I thought you had super strength.” said Happy “Still hurts.” I moved my hand to lower lip feeling the cut that was on it. How did we fuck up so bad. Peter and I are supposed to save people and right now it feels like we put more innocent people in danger.
“Happy.” Peter flinched “Relax.”Happy continued stitching up his back. I stared out the window at the array of colored tulips. My dad trusted us. He trusted me, and I just let him down big time. Peter flinched again this time banging his fist on the table. “Relax!” said Happy louder this time “DONT TELL ME TO RELAX HAPPY HOW CAN I RELAX WHEN WE MESSES UP SO BAD!” Yelled Peter standing up and walking over to the other side of the jet. I jumped at the sudden noise. “Peter.” I said softly grabbing his wrist. “Im the one who trusted Beck, you didnt but I dragged you into this!”
“I thought he was my friend so I gave him the only thing Mr.Stark left for me and now hes gunna kill our friends and half of europe! So please Happy do not tell me to relax!” Peter sat down on one of the orange chairs, I sat with him. “Im sor- im sorry I shouldnt yell.” he said “I just really miss him.” He said, I leaned my head against Peters shoulder. “I miss him to.” said Happy. I could tell he was trying to act strong but I know dads death really broke him. Peter already had tear stains down his face. “Everywhere I go I see his face.” said Peter “And the whole world is asking whos gunna be the next Iron man and I dont know if thats me.” He said “Peter.” I said “Dad trusted you, and if he trusted you then he thought that you could take over once he was gone, and dad was a genius so that had a 99.8% chance of being right.” “Your not Tony kid.” said Happy “Your never gunna be Tony. Nobody can live up to Tony.” “Tony was my best friend, and he was a mess. He second guessed everything he did, he was always stressed, but the one thing that he didnt second guess was choosing you two.” I felt a tear that was begging to be released from my eyes trickle down my cheek and into my lap.
“I dont think tony wouldve done what he did if he didnt know that you guys would be here after he was gone. Now your techs missing, none of the other avengers are coming. What are you gunna do about it?” I stood up leaving Peter sitting on the leather clad seat alone. “Were gunna kick his ass.” I said “No right now like specifically right now what are we gunna do because weve been hovering over a tulip feild for the past 10 minutes?” I looked at Peter. Hes the more ‘you have once second before your gunna die so think of a solution.’ He stood up “Right, we cant call our friends because hes tapping out phones soo…” He trailed off “Right ah-“ Happy pulled his phone from his pocked and tossed it to Peter.
I walked to the back of the quinn jet tracing my finger over the grooves of the metal, it helps me think. Nick Fury and Maria are here in Venice but they dont know that Mysterio is a fread. The suits that Nick gave us dont have all the attachments that dads suits did, we’ll have to fix that.
“We need suits.” I spoke up interrupting Peter and Happys conversation. Happy walked up to the front of the jet and pressed some buttons. a compartment inside of the wall opened up reavealing a drawing table and an orray of suit designs. “Show me everything you have on (undecided superhero name)” I said Clicking through the different suits.
Peter wraped one hand around my waist and used the other to lean against the drawing table. I scrolled through the suit options and attachments looking for the ones powers by an arc reacter because those ones are the most likely the clostest to my old suit.
“Whoa whoa wait,” said Peter scrolling back a few options “you can get web shooters installed in your suit.” he said clicking in the option. I clicked out of the option. We really dont have time this. “Yea i’d just be like your web shooters but on my suit.” I said “Dad designed them for if you needed to make a suit”
I clicked on the option for a hand blaster and tried it on. I looked up, Happy was watching Peter and I with a smirk on his face. “What?” I asked “Nothing.” he said “You get the suits i’ll get the music.” He turned on one of dads old playlists.
“Ohh I love Led Zeplin!” said Peter I smiled at him. “Hey, Peter” I said softly cupping his face in my hands. “Yea?” he said looking down at me. “This is ACDC.” “Ohh I love ACDC!” he said aloud for Happy to hear him. “Your an idiot.” unfortunetly I think im in love with this idiot.

Avengers Tower, three weeks after the Chitauri's attack on New York. The Avengers are moving into the Stark tower (now known as Avenger's tower) and Tony isn't sure if he's ready for that. The playboy is still caught on what he'd done, what could have happened... and the stress seems to eat at him, tearing him apart from the inside out. Things quickly take a bizarre turn as Tony finds himself confused about his feelings for his newly found blonde companion, a young hero appears and claims Steve to be the reason for his loss in the attack, and a dangerous new threat is made by the group's own hands. Secrets begin to pile up, romances fall apart, and attacks becoming more brutal each day. What could possibly go wrong with putting a recovering veteran in the hands of a bunch of sarcastic baristas with access to legally addictive stimulants? The answer is... not much, actually.

Well, I'm finally answering this... almost a year later. I'm so sorry for that, I didn't ignore any of the asks in my inbox, I just forgot about 'em. Sorta. Anyways, the good news is that I plan to finally start emptying my inbox. Honestly, these prompts have been sitting there for way too long.
While this doesn't exactly start with the sentence that was given, it does use it. Kinda. Let's just get started.

“Kid, what are you doing here?” It wasn't the first time Tony had caught Peter sneaking into the Compound. In fact, on more than several occasions he’d woken up in the mornings to find the kid raiding his kitchen and being a fire hazard to society by trying to bake a dish that vaguely resembled something out of a mad scientist horror film.
Tony refused to call anything Peter cooked food. The kid was worse than his aunt when he was near a stove.
Said kid who had his back turned to Tony, jumped, spinning around to stare at Tony with eyes blown so wide they almost seemed to swallow his entire face. He looked like the exact definition of a child being caught red-handed with their grubby fingers halfway into the cookie jar.
Not only that but for the first time since the kid got here, Tony noticed that he was, in fact, not wearing one of his infamous nerdy science pun t-shirts that were part of his usual civilian attire but instead, was in his Spider-Man suit.
That wasn’t even the weirdest part.
Tony felt his eyebrows shoot up well past his hairline as he took in the kid. More specifically, what was sitting snugly in Peter's arms as if it had every right to be and not sending him through another stage of existential crisis. “What the fuck is that?”
His death was going to be caused by his disaster-on-two-legs kid. Tony knew it. He was going to keel over from the stress one of these days. It was the only way to go out.
“A turtle?” If it was any other time, Tony would’ve probably asked the kid if that was a question or statement but instead, couldn’t help the borderline hysterical laugh that escaped him.
Gods, aliens, genocidal maniacs, hydra soldiers - he thought it would always be one of the former or some fucked up ‘sacrifice himself for the greater good of the universe’ bullshit that was going to get him killed him but nope.
“Uh, yeah, I can see that, kiddo.” Tony waved his arm out, probably trying to gesture to the sheer ridiculousness of the situation “I mean, why the fuck did you bring it here?”
“Oops?” The kid’s shoulder’s bunched up to his ears in what Tony had to guess was some sort of half-shrug.
“Oops?” Tony tried not to sound like less of a madman but that was a feat in itself, especially whenever Peter was involved. The kid was trouble walking around with ’kick me’ written on the back of his shirt with disaster not too far behind him. Sure, Tony kinda knew that things weren’t ever going to be the same again after the whole Vulture and plane crashing incident. He expected a few supervillains here and there, maybe a stab wound but still.
He never planned for a whole goddamn turtle. “What do you mean oops? This isn’t an ‘oops’, Parker! Start talking!”
The kid’s lips thinned as he pressed them together, obviously not planning on spilling the beans on why he brought a turtle into the Compound. Okay, that was fine, it was fine. Two could play it that game and if Peter wasn’t going to come clean, Tony was just going to have to use the ace up his sleeve. “Alright, fine, if you won’t talk to me, I’m just going to call May.”
Tony already had his phone out in the open when it happened. Maybe later, a part of him would’ve wondered why he didn’t expect the kid to put up some sort of rebellion. Still, it’s not everyday when one’s phone suddenly disappeared from their hand.
“Did you just web my phone from me?!” Tony looked up from his now empty hand to where the kid was standing, whose eyes had somehow blown even wider than they were before while said stolen device sat perfectly in his free hand while the other was still holding up the turtle in what was clearly a feat against all known human possibilities.
Right. Sticky powers. Gotta love ‘em.
“No, uh, yes, I mean-” On any other day, Tony would’ve found the kid’s ability to stumble over his own words adorable, endearing even. “I can explain!”
Today, however, wasn’t one of those days.
It wasn’t that he minded the kid’s company, in fact, on a good day he enjoyed having the bubbling ball of energy to bounce science off of in the lab or when they binged any sci-fi movie they could get their hands on until they both passed out on the couch.
Except, after being forced to sit through a couple dozen meetings courtesy of one scary-and-should-definitely-not-be-teaming-up-with-May-Parker and soon-to-be-wife, Pepper Potts, Tony was not in the mood to deal with the kid’s babbling.
“Then please, explain.”
“I mean, it wasn’t my fault!” Ah yes, the sinner’s plea. “Well, it is. Sorta but I couldn’t just leave him there!” There we go.
“You know what?” Tony raised his hands, shaking his head. “I don’t actually want to know. Just please, tell me why you bring it here to all places?”
“Donatello isn’t an it.”
Tony did a double-take at that. “You’ve named it?”

Avengers Tower, three weeks after the Chitauri's attack on New York. The Avengers are moving into the Stark tower (now known as Avenger's tower) and Tony isn't sure if he's ready for that. The playboy is still caught on what he'd done, what could have happened... and the stress seems to eat at him, tearing him apart from the inside out. Things quickly take a bizarre turn as Tony finds himself confused about his feelings for his newly found blonde companion, a young hero appears and claims Steve to be the reason for his loss in the attack, and a dangerous new threat is made by the group's own hands. Secrets begin to pile up, romances fall apart, and attacks becoming more brutal each day. Can the Avengers manage to keep themselves together, work through their issues, figure out who their hearts really belong to, and save the world yet again?

Caught, Tony pauses to look at him, to zero in and search. And Peter, terrified, grits his teeth and looks away. He can’t stomach being studied like that, and he just - fuck, he just really needs to leave right now. The standoff lasts for a few more seconds before finally Tony eases off: “FRIDAY, temporarily deactivate Baby Monitor Protocol – override code One-Zero-One-Seven-Two-Zero-Two-Three.”

The elevator doors open behind him but he doesn't move, choosing instead to stare at Mr. Stark as the weight bearing down on his chest sinks just a little further.
Squeezing his shoulder, Tony explains: “The day I got you back.”
Despondent, Peter pushes the hand off him. “The day I lost you.”
Walking to the lift, he presses for the lobby. Doors shutting between him and the Starks, Peter begins his descent.
