these types of posts makes me lose faith in loa
Hii love! 🤍
Tumblr media
*sighs*
[Tbh I didn't even fully read that blog because it's so silly help + it's removed ig lmao ]
✿ Babe! I am telling you,
★ if you lose faith in loa = losing faith within yourself!!
✿ Not only these kinda posts are something which may lead us to spiral, before I entered into loa I and also many people have faced each and every second of people saying words like "you have to do that to get that" "You have to be this to be that" AH GIRL- FUCK THAT.
✿ But I am here to say none of that really matters BECAUSE THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU DESIRE. DO YOU DESIRE TO LIVE IN A SHITTY PLACE AROUND SHITTY PEOPLE?? NO RIGHT? THEN WHY DO YOU KEEP ASSOCIATING WITH SHIT WHICH YOU DON'T WANT??
✿ And I understand it's not your fault!! NOT AT ALL!! But it's waste to sit and waste your precious time in things which you don't desire. While in that time you could have manifested million things you wanted!
✿ You wanna be something? BE THAT SOMETHING! You wanna go somewhere? GO TO THAT PLACE! You wanna get that job, sp, or whatever you want? GET IT BY SIMPLY ASSUMING THAT YOU DID.
★ If it's not what you wanted= goes to fuckin trash
With lots of love,
ADILYNN YURI🤍🌷

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
I know that I am on break, but I wanted to discuss this topic since I kind of left it hanging when I left for my month-long break.
𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬
Everyone has their own personal reality. You see the world through the lens of your current state of consciousness.
No, this does not mean the peoeple in your life are fake or npc's. They're all versions of the real person (and may just be the real them), all depending on their current state of consciousness.
The versions of you across realities are all you, just waiting to be accessed through changing your state.
𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬
Neville Goddard has mentioned many times how you should make your own personal reality a version of heaven or paradise. He usually views manifestation through a biblical lens, so he talks about man being Jesus and curing the ill in his life. This is what we mean when we manifest for others in our reality.
However, we are simply creating in our own personal worlds. These manifestations will always only affect us and our realities. Manifesting, once again, is simply a shift from your current reality to another. I know it doesn't seem like it because the changes are so minimal, however, you are shifting. In fact, you are shifting every day. Every time you make a new decision, incorporate a new assumption, or think something new, you are shifting to a reality that matches your state of consciousness.
Therefore, your consciousness is the only one shifting to a new reality where the person you're manifesting for has what you manifested for them. Only you. They will always remain in the reality that matches their own current state of consciousness.
𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮
This is exactly why no one can manifest for you.
The person you ask to manifest for you will be the only one shifting to a reality in which you have what you desire. You will always remain where you are if you refuse to do the work yourself and change your state.
Now, I know some of you are going to say "but someone manifested for me and it worked!" Listen, it only "worked" because you manifested it for yourself. You were successful in changing your own state of consciousness and you managed to manifest for yourself through the placebo of asking someone else to do it for you.
𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫?
Now I want to leave you with these questions:
Why would you want someone else to manifest for you?
Why wouldn't you want to be the one that has full control over your reality?
Why wouldn't you want to have the power to manifest in the privacy of your imagination?
Why do you want to remain powerless?

Timeless Wells- Oneshot (Flash)
Tumblr media
When he’d first returned. He was ecstatic to venture the world. He’d lost so much due to the past. But he’d gotten a second chance. He told himself that he’d go back. To the very beginning. Although he could travel through time, he couldn’t alter anything. So when he first saw you working, he was determined to finally have his happily ever after.
“Dr. Wells, the CCPD is here to take your statement.”
He nodded at his employee.
“Let them in.”
The male stepped to the side, letting the detective in.
“Dr. Wells, (Y/N) Morgan. My officers are outside questioning your employees that were present when the item was stolen. Is there anything about Mr. Davis that you can tell me? Every bit of information would help.”
For a moment he just gazes at you. Basks in the light. It had been so long since he saw your face. There was a part of him that somehow knew he’d died the minute he lost you.
“Dr. Wells are you alright?” You took a step closer, inspecting him for injuries.
“Did Mr. Davies attack you?”
Harrison blinked.
“Oh, no no. I’m fine.” He gave a little laugh, running his hand down his tie.
“I apologize I just..” He paused, eyes still very much trained on you.
“You’re just so beautiful..” It was said wistfully. A bashful expression crossed your face, and he took a much needed step back.
“Sorry! Sorry that was unprofessional. You’re supposed to be helping me and I’m distracting you. There is not much more I can provide about him other than the security footage that we reviewed. I’m sorry we can’t be more helpful.” You clear your throat, sliding your hands in your pockets.
“It’s alright. If you think of anything else. Please don’t be afraid to reach out. You have my contact information.”
“Yes, if anything comes to mind I’ll be sure to call. “
For a moment, you both just stand there.
You’ve known Harrison Wells for years. The man was labeled a genius by many. He was successful, handsome and apparently not that bad of a guy. None of your paths had ever crossed until today. You never thought much of him until you stepped through that door. As a detective, gut feelings have always been an aid in your life. That’s why the second you saw him in person, it felt..strange. He kept staring at you like you’d met before, and something about his presence felt almost powerful.
He was a billionaire, so that should have been expected.
But this was different.
You gaze at him, almost trying to figure him out.
“I’ll keep an eye on him.”
It’s not like he had set off any red flags. But you needed to figure out this particular mystery. Right after you found his gear.
“Have a good day Dr. Wells.”
“Yes! You too.” He offered a charming smile, and you turned, exiting the room.
~~~~
“Detective Morgan, always good to see a friendly face.”
You grin at the CSI officer.
“Mr. Allen, how is little Nora? Is she missing her favorite aunt?”
“Always.” He laughs. He looks a little preoccupied, but you can’t help but broach the question.
“Hey Barry, can I ask you something?” He looks intrigued now. You gesture to your office, and he follows. When he closes the door, he’s invested.
“Have you made any progress on the missing tech at star labs?”
He shook his head.
“No. Thankfully all that was stolen is a supercharged battery. It’s good to power a car at most, but not much else. It’s one of the newer modifications Star Labs has been working on. The charger inside allows a car to run with the battery for days and its solar charge. So as long as there’s a signal, the vehicle can go for weeks. My guess is this thief was just trying to make a quick buck.”
You nod, pulling a pen off your desk absentmindedly as you bounce it on your leg.
Barry tilted his head at the reaction.
“Why does it feel like you’re not as concerned about this criminal?”
He’d seen through that quickly. Not that you were surprised.
“How much do you know about Harrison Wells?” You can just see the excitement rise into his eyes.
“Enough to know the man is a revolutionary genius!”
Maybe Barry was the wrong person to ask. He was obviously biased.
“I know he’s the victim, and I don’t really get the vibe that he would set up his employee to steal something like this just to make more money. He’s literally swimming in wealth just by breathing.”
“So if he’s not a suspect, why are you so suspicious?”
You bite the inside of your cheek. You briefly contemplate telling him at all. If you were being honest it would only be a matter of time before he found out. Because you were going to bring this up with Iris whenever you both had free time anyway.
“Today in the office he was acting a little weird. That’s why I thought he was possibly in on it and just trying his best to distract me.”
“Weird how? What exactly did he say?”
“He said I was beautiful.” Your eyes are narrowed like you’re trying to solve some elaborate mystery.
Barry’s expression is blank for a moment, like he’s waiting for the punchline. It never comes.
“Are you kidding me! A guy compliments you and you immediately assume he’s a criminal.”
“W-What! No I-I…It was a gut feeling!!” You defend. Barry just begins laughing, and you frown.
“If you’re not going to help you might as well leave!!”
So he does, snickering on his way out. It earns some looks from your coworkers, and you roll your eyes.
Last time you rely on Barry for help.
~~~
“Can I have one coffee please.”
The barista gives a smile, and you move to take a seat as you wait for your order to be called. Your focus diverts to your cellphone as you scroll through messages from reports.
“Detective Morgan?” Your eyes lift at the familiar voice. Just then your order is called, and he’s standing at the counter. He nods to the barista who hands him the coffee with a smile. Harrison moves over to your seat. You simply watch as he places it down.
“Thank you.”
“No problem. Would you mind if I joined you?”
“Not at all.” He pulls out a chair, and you pocket your phone.
“Unfortunately we haven’t made much progress on your case. We’ve set up some interference in case he tries to sell it within the city. But if he’s already fled, then it makes it a bit more difficult. My contacts in DC are keeping me updated. “
Harrison smiles.
“I appreciate you working so diligently on my behalf.”
“It is my job.” You point out. He’s still wearing that warm smile that sort of disarms you. Because those eyes hold something akin to adoration and you’ve literally only spoken to this man once in your life. You weren’t such a naive soul to believe in something like love at first sight.
“Detective I was actually wondering if you would like to-”
You jump when you hear the glass at the door shatter. A canister rolls in, and you immediately go into fight mode.
“Everyone get done, cover your faces!!”
Your yell echoes, and a few of them react as instructed. But others aren’t so quick. The smoke is blinding, and instinctively you reach for your gun, but the second it’s within grasp, it’s flung out of your hand. You’re struck right in the stomach, and you grunt when your body hits the floor harshly.
“Nice try.” A male voice says.
People in the area are coughing, and you try to cover your face as you search for your weapon on the floor.
“Detective!!”
Harrison is calling for you, but you're still trying to gather your wits. You're still trying to pick yourself off the floor. Someone beats you to it. You’re grabbed by the back of your hair, yanked off the floor. Your cry of pain catches Harrison’s attention. Through the smoke and chaos his eyes catch your predicament, and anger rushes through his veins. You aren’t really sure how to explain what happens next. One minute you’re fighting in jitters, the next, you witness an explosion of green particles.
Your legs land on solid ground and you gasp.
“What the hell!!”
That sounds like the voice of your assailant. Your head whips to the back, and standing there is the very criminal you all had been searching for. He’s decked down in black clothing holding your gun in his hand and it’s pointed at Harrison.
“DR. WELLS!!”
You’re startled that he isn’t begging for his life, or even trying to run. His glare is fixated on Mr. Davies, and the man pulls the trigger to your horror. The bullet however does connect. The weapon disappears in those similar green sparks. When it reappears, Harrison is holding it in his hand. The bullet hits Davies right in the knee, and he drops to the ground in a cry of pain. You’re shocked, confused, relieved? You simply gape. There’s nothing else that really can be done. None of this really makes sense. When Harrison’s gaze finally moves to you, there’s relief, and a spec of guilt. Whatever this is. He has some serious explaining to do.
~~~
“Thanks Barry.”
He pats your shoulder.”
“I’m glad you’re okay.”
After finally gathering yourself, you managed to call back up. The street you stood on was now filled with at least three police cars and an ambulance. Harrison was giving his statement to the police. At least the altered version.
You’d given him specific orders after what you witnessed.
“Don’t say a word.”
It’s somewhat of a hiss. A warning.
You sound irritated, and also scared. He understands. He also knows the only reason you aren’t letting him expose his identity is so as to avoid a panic.
Harrison says nothing, simply nods.
The story was that you were both drugged and taken to this spot. It was pretty believable considering the circumstances. As you watch him from across your view, there is so much that needs to be said. But you can’t exactly apprehend him now in front of everyone and ask how he dissolved not just his body but your own as well as the criminal’s. None of this truly makes sense. When his eyes finally find you, it’s almost like he understood.
You would be waiting for that explanation.
~Later~
The knock on your door is as expected. You place your glass down, moving to open the door. Harrison is standing on the other side with a weak smile. You step aside, and he walks in. He adjusts his glasses. A nervous tick that you’ve picked up on.
For a while there is nothing but silence.
Harrison breaks it.
“You protected me.”
You scoff.
“Do you really think anyone would believe it if you told them what happened? I was saving myself paperwork.” He offers a smile.
“So I gave you a cover. Explain it to me. How the hell did you do that!”
You have a right to yell at him. You have no idea what’s going on and it terrifies you.
“In the simplest terms, I’m a time traveler. I can go back and forth through time.” You laugh, but there is no humor in there.
“You really expect me to believe that time travel is real.”
“You saw it with your own eyes.”
“I don’t know what I saw! For all I know you could have drugged me! Maybe you’re running some kind of scheme with your buddy Davies. The only reason he came after me is because my little interference put a block in his plans. Be straight with me, you both were accomplices and you used some kind of drug on me.”
Harrison takes a step closer, and you tense.
Your head is saying that you need to be weary, on guard. Because you still can’t explain what you saw.
Your heart however, that is the part that isn’t acting the way it should. The closer he gets, the faster the wave of beats seems to echo. Except this isn’t fear.
It’s something completely different.
“You feel it too, don’t you?”
“W-What are you talking about?!”
Harrison reaches for you, and rather than run away, you just stand there. His palm lands on your cheek, and you feel like the air has been squeezed out of you.
“I thought that I consciously made the decision to be here with you, but I think time led me here. Because we’re connected. “
“I-I barely know you..”
His smile is solemn.
“I know.”
You aren’t sure why his somber words make you feel so sad. Somehow your body just reacts, and you take a step forward, gripping his suit as you kiss him earnestly. Harrison is taken by surprise. You feel the way he tenses. But the longer your lips are pressed to his, the faster he falls into sync with your movements. You back him up, and he hits a wall with a soft grunt. You wish there was some way you could explain what was happening.
Why kissing this stranger felt like absolute heaven. But it didn’t make sense.
Nothing about this situation made any sense.
Yet, for some reason, at that moment you didn't even care.
Because this somehow feels..right.
Because today we live in a society in which spurious realities are manufactured by the media, by governments, by big corporations, by religious groups, political groups… So I ask, in my writing, What is real? Because unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it. And it is an astonishing power: that of creating whole universes, universes of the mind. I ought to know. I do the same thing.“ —Philip K. Dick, How To Build A Universe That Doesn't Fall Apart Two Days Later (1978)
Gojo Satoru (Jujutsu Kaisen) - Extra
Tumblr media
It was no coincidence when he caught your eyes that day.
Nor was it when you found him some time after.
“I knew you’d find me.”
His home resided on a hill, very much like the one you had.
“Was it all real? Is this real or is it just an illusion?”
You took a seat next to him on the floor of his living room.
“It’s all real. This is your desire made real. It’s the new reality. This is your life now.”
He figured as much.
“I’m sorry for the pretense.” You apologize.
He couldn’t really bring himself to be offended. You didn’t owe him anything. This whole time you’d held all the power. He just wondered why you decided to grant his selfish wish rather than just rid the world of the tainted humanity.
Surely that would have been much easier for you.
“You don’t have to explain yourself. I guess I should have been more conscious. You were right, I’m not the strongest.”
You nod.
“Neither am I.”
That caught his attention.
You look up.
“I was assigned this planet to cleanse. That day you saw me, I was contemplating what the best route was. It was a decision only I could make, but I wasn’t sure what the right one was. There was still good, but also so much hate and evil. When the stream of power was distributed it was meant to assist humanity, but they exploited everything. I felt like I’d failed so terribly.”
He could see the clear despair on your face.
“I was distracted that night. Not that I was ever in any danger. But then you showed up and for the first time in a while I felt hope. It was very entertaining the way you threatened to find me. I’d never met such an intriguing human before.”
Gojoe smiled.
“Everything about you reflected what I wanted humanity to look like. A spark of hope and a need to protect those weaker. You could have led a similar life to your friend, but you decided to continue to chase after a world of peace even when it was fully out of your grasp. Your choice to help instead of harm, it’s what saved humanity."
He wished he could take all the credit, but everyone that he tried to protect, that’s what made him want to keep going.
Keep fighting.
“When you told me your wish, I was certain you would say you wanted more power or strength to overcome your problems. But instead you asked for peace. That’s when I made my choice.”
Gojo scratched his head with a laugh.
“I should have asked for a lifetime of free ramen then too huh.”
You laugh along with him.
“I suppose that would not have been too bad either.”
Your little blissful sounds quieted.
This was all he could ask for. Although he no longer possessed the powers he once had, everyone was here and safe. He could not hope for much more.
“I guess this time you owe me.”
It’s a casual tease that you make.
You turned your head to poke his arm, but he took your wrist lightly and leaned in. Your eyes grew wide at the softness his lips provided when they made contact with your own. When he pulled away, it was as if his eyes were glowing. You could only stare.
“Thank you.” He whispered.
You were speechless.
Touching your lips, you blushed looking down.
“This has..never happened before.”
Gojo smiled.
“Such a powerful deity has never been kissed? I’m surprised.”
He expected you to fire back some kind of embarrassed retaliation, but you were still looking at him in awe. His smile slowly fell, and he felt himself tempted to lean in again.
“Would you..like another?”
You bit your bottom lip, and your body gave off a faint pink glow that mirrored your cheeks. You were completely red.
Gojo couldn’t seem to stop himself. He moved in again, and this time your lips parted in surprise. The sudden added weight caused you to lose balance, and you fell back. Gojo wasn’t deterred. He linked his fingers with your own, kissing you so desperately. Your eyes were shut as your body trembled slightly at each tender stroke of his tongue.
“I..can’t think straight..”
You were stunned that you could fully form a conscious breath. His tongue was relentless with its ministrations. When his hand found its way under your shirt, your brows knitted and you released a soft mewl. Gojo finally allowed you a chance to breathe, and you were panting as his lips changed direction.
“I was right..you’re cute just like a bunny..”
He muttered into your skin. You released a soft moan with every kiss he left on your neck.
“G-Gojo..”
He moved back to meet your gaze, smirking at how flustered you’d become.
In a perfect world he would have kissed you sooner. Now that he has just that, there’s no reason for him to hold back.
“I intend to fully repay my debt to you.”
You stammered when his hand drifted lower.
“W-Why does this feel more like a punishment than a reward! W-Where are you putting your hands you p-pervert!!”
Gojo grinned.
He would indeed live this life to the fullest.
I think I'm so in love with you then I realized you're not real :(
I'm not "real" in your reality. It's a matter of...point of view. To me, your reality sounds like an horror drama movie- you guys are going through a pandemic and now there's war...with the worry there might be nuclear conflict.
Timeless Wells- Extra (Flash)
Tumblr media
“We’re connected.”
Your eyes open slowly, and you stare at the ceiling of your bedroom. A flash of your heated make out session follows, and you groan.
It’s been approximately one month since that incident, and you have successfully managed to avoid Harrison Wells. Truth is after you finally collected yourself from basically assaulting the man, you’d turn tail and run for the hills.
It was a cowardly move. But your mind would not give you the satisfaction of forgetting. Because in all honesty, it felt good. It felt great to hold him. Touch him, kiss him.
A complete and utter stranger.
The more you think about it, the more you think you’ll go crazy.
“Detective, we just got a call from the Central Bank. There’s been a robbery. “
Great, this was actually exactly what you needed to get your mind off the scientist.
“I’ll be right there.”
Grabbing your coat from the back of the chair, you head to work.
~Star Labs Later that Day~
“Do you agree, Dr. Wells?” He blinks at the woman in front of him.
“Could you leave the report on my desk so I can look over it?”
She nods eagerly.
“Of course sir! Please take your time and let me know what you think.” She placed the folder down, excusing herself. Despite his running thoughts, he smiles at the enthusiasm of the young scientist. He recalled when he was starting out. He emitted such energy and spark. He picked up the folder, flipping through.
“This is incredible.”
The schematics on the machine were flawless. He feels a bit disappointed. Had he been paying closer attention, he could have given the correct response and praise.
“I’ll have to do better when I return it.”
It was hard for him to focus. That much was clear.
His fingers ran across his lips as he ran through the events of that night. He didn’t imagine it. You kissed him. Not just a peck either. You’d planted the most earth shattering, reality altering kiss on his lips. Then you panicked and sprinted out like he was some kind of serial killer. Harrison deflated, sinking into his chair. He should have followed his gut and kept a distance.
“I got greedy.”
Why did everything have to get so messy? Life was supposed to be better now. Simple. But it wasn’t.
“Dr. Wells!”
His assistant came running in.
“Turn on your tv.”
He raised his head, reaching for the remote as he flicked it on.
Your face popped up on the screen, the headlines catching his attention.
“Star Labs Tech Recovered in Central City Bank Robbery.”
The interview continued as you gave specific details of what had gone down.
“Our evidence has led us to believe that this robber received tech from the previous attack on Star Labs. We are working diligently to ensure that all the stolen items are returned to the laboratory. Dr. Harrison Wells has been very cooperative and played a huge part in apprehending the criminals. We hope to continue working as one unit to prevent future crimes, thank you.”
You excused yourself and the anchor continued her broadcast.
“Detective Morgan is quite literally a hero. If reporters had gotten a hold of this story they would have no doubt spin a wheel and implicate us into the robberies. She single handedly protected our reputation. Your lawyers were on standby. I’ve been advised to improve security to avoid future issues. “
Harrison’s eyes are still planted on the television as his assistant continues to ramble. The little interview had given him a spark of hope.
~~~
“We’ve finished the reports, that’s the last of the materials. “
The lab techs took each device with thanks as you signed off for the items. You glanced at Harrison coming around the corner, his eyes immediately meeting your own. You nod to him, slipping away as you gesture to his office. He understood, following you down the hallway. When you got there, he moved, opening the door as you both entered.
You could feel the tension. From the look on his face, you could tell there was so much he wanted to say. But he settled for one statement.
“Thank you for coming to see me.”
“I didn’t have much of a choice. Your tech was found at my crime scene. It’s obvious that your previous thief had made some little devices of his own with your materials.”
Harrison felt responsible.
When you see the guilty look on his face, you finally drop your detective shield, lowering your arms.
“I’m sorry..about before and then..” You couldn’t finish the sentence.
‘It’s alright. You were scared.”
That wasn’t an excuse.
“I’m surprised that you didn’t press charges after what happened. “ You state.
“I don’t think that would be very fair.”
“If the roles were reversed it would have been the first thing I did.”
“Double standard.”
Harrison offers with a little grin.
You sigh. Visiting his office this time around was supposed to give you some kind of solace. A relief that nothing would happen. It was broad daylight. A part of you truly doesn’t want to believe what happened was real. Because it doesn’t make sense. So the logical part of your brain told you that it was time to face this rather than hide.
“None of this seems real. As much as I try to put it together, nothing adds up. So I need you to explain it all to me. If you are some kind of time traveler why are you here? Where did those powers come from?”
Harrison takes a seat at the front of his desk, crossing his ankles.
“If you want the full version, then the truth is I died. Some very brave men sacrificed themselves and I suppose as thanks, the universe allowed them to live on in me. Although technically they are gone, I can still feel what they were sacrificed for.” He rises from the desk.
“That is where my powers came from. The reason I’m here, well, it’s to be with you.”
“What..what does that mean? You make it sound like some cosmic plan but I have no idea who you are!”
“I know, I know.” He keeps at a distance.
“I…Before I died I had someone special. Someone who meant the world to me. That person was you. I came back to this exact timeline to be with you. Because of the shifts in time so much has changed, but you stayed the same. I just…I wanted another chance with the love of my life. So I selfishly came here to be with you. That’s all I wanted..”
He sounds so broken. It breaks your heart. From the sound of it, he could have gone anywhere. Be with anyone. But it’s clear that this version of you has some significance to you. Nevertheless, it feels almost wrong to try and take the place of someone he obviously cared for.
“I’m not that woman Harrison.”
He removes his glasses, running a hand through his hair. He expected this. Saw it coming. But it still hurts.
“My name is (Y/N) Morgan. It’s nice to meet you, Harrison Wells.”
He barely reacts at first, but when he looks up slowly, it’s one of astonishment of your outstretched hand.
“I have no intention of replacing that person you held so dear. Whoever she was, obviously she was an incredible woman. One I have respect for. What I would like is to get to know you better Dr. Wells.”
Your hand is still extended. The smile that radiates on his face is so vibrant. You can’t even explain how much it warms your heart. He takes your hand.
“Nice to meet you Ms. Morgan.”
He gives it a firm shake.

The writer’s first job is not to have opinions but to tell the truth… and refuse to be an accomplice of lies or misinformation. Literature is the expression of nuance and contrariness against the voices of simplification. The job of the writer is to make it harder to believe the mental despoilers. The job of the writer is to help make us see the world as it is, which is to say, full of many different claims and parts and experiences. It is the job of the writer to depict the realities, the foul realities, the realities of rapture. It is the essence of the wisdom furnished by literature (the plurality of literary achievement) to help us to understand that, whatever is happening, something else is always going on. I am haunted by that “something else.”
