“oh, look, you were still a filthy little shit as a child too, my love.” remus said with a doting smile, holding up a picture frame with an image of sirius and regulus as small children. in it, regulus looked like the perfect angel child, and sirius was picking his nose.
“you are so good to me, moony.” sirius glanced at him, “such a kind soul.”
“i do try.” remus grinned and set the picture down.
they were cleaning out the bedrooms in the old black estate so there would be beds for the weasleys, and harry, and the granger girl, and whoever else needed shelter here. it was the first time since azkaban that sirius had been able to step foot in regulus’s room. its the first time he’s stepped foot in it since he left for the potters whilst still in school.
that seemed like a lifetime and a half ago now.
“how are you feeling with all this, padfoot?” remus asked, tossing more junk into the box he had under his arm.
“alright, considering…” he shrugged, because he really was doing the best he could. it was hard, being in here, still grieving the loss of his brother. never getting the closure he needed. he still grieved for everyone, even remus, “the abnormally romantically desperate poetry is keeping me sane- you know, if regulus was here right now, he’d actually cut off my hand and gouge out my eyes for reading his journals.”
remus laughed.
sirius held up one of the journals, an old one, “i remember when we were boys, regulus had just started to write and he’d left his page open on his desk and i… i started to read, and he stabbed my hand with his pen.”
remus just looked at him.
“you can laugh, you know? it’s funny.”
remus tried his best not to laugh.
“he was an aggressive little creiten.” sirius said with a smile, “you know, i’m wishing more than anything that he just… pop up out of thin air and stab me with his pen again for reading all these.”
remus let a little laugh out at that.
“i shouldn’t snoop, i know i shouldn’t, but…” he sighed and slapped the book down into the box he had beside him, “it’s all i have left of him, and so, i think it might be the closure i need.”
“i’m sure he’ll understand, sirius.” remus offered and then pondered the thought for a moment, “he might still have a violent outburst about it, but he’d understand.”
sirius laughed and nodded his head, “you’re right, moony. why must you always be right?”
remus tapped his noggin, “old and wise.”
“old, perhaps.” siris muttered under his breath, and remus threw an old little velvet box at him in retaliation.
sirius laughed before opening it, inspecting the insides. there lay a ring, one with regulus’s initials. sirius had a matching one, all the blacks did. a signet ring gifted to them before departing on the hogwarts express. an expectation to make the family name proud and grow into a fine young man with poise and prejudice.
fuck that.
sirius wore his ring for a total of seven hours before he’d removed it after getting sorted into gryffindor and got that horrid letter from his mother. he’d thrown it into the black lake the day he found out regulus had become like them, when his skin had been marked and his fate was sealed.
if only he knew, back then, that regulus wasn’t like them after all. that he just wanted to be seen, the same as sirius did.
sirius slid the ring onto his finger and hoped that wearing it would be enough.
he sighed and reached under the bed for another box. this one was smaller, a chest of sorts. he opened it to find a collection of letters.
sirius opened the one on top, it had the most wear and tear, and he smiled when he read the first line.
“oh, remus… have a look at this.” sirius laughed, holding up the letter, “regulus has love letters.”
“absolutely he did not.” remus shook his head.
“a whole box of them.” sirius nodded and held the paper back out to read again, “look, it says, dear regulus, my love.”
“who’s it from?” remus asked, leaning up against the counter.
“i’m not sure,” he shrugged, “it’s signed from his sun.”
remus squinted, “we’ll go on, read it out.”
“sorry, brother.” sirius said and cleared his throat, “dear regulus, my love, i hope this letter finds you well. i can’t bear to be without you. this summer break has been most painful, i miss you dearly. as you told me before we parted ways, you will look to the sun to find me, but i’ve noticed the sun has hidden away these past few days, so i am writing to you so you may find me like this instead. i still look to the sky every night and blow a kiss to your star. i think of you as i lay awake at night. i dream of you when sleep finally takes me, but it always comes easier with you in my arms- oh, remus. whoever this sun is, they’re a bloody sap.”
remus laughed, “yes, almost as sappy as you, sirius.” he smiled, “reminds me of james, a bit… he was such a romantic with lily.”
“don’t remind me.” sirius glared at him, “i had to hear every musing of that love fest.”
“i think i’ve heard enough, have you?” remus sighed, “you don’t want to invade their privacy any longer.”
“oh, but he was in love, moony.” sirius sighed, “there is no name! and i’ll only read this one.”
“i really don’t think you should-“
“sometimes, when i miss you so much it hurts my heart, i hold my hands up to block out your brothers face and pretend his smile is yours. it’s not quite the same, but it’s close enough. i find you everywhere, reg- wait, oh, they- they blocked out my smile?” sirius glanced up.
remus swallowed, “you should really put that down, sirius.”
“you know something.” sirius glared at him.
“i don’t.” remus pressed, averting his eyes.
“you do. you are a terrible liar!” he gasped, “you can’t lie to me, moony- what do you know?”
“it’s none of your business, sirius.” remus huffed, “your brothers' relationships are no matter to you.”
“but he was in love!” sirius pressed, “my little brother was in love, remus! he was in love with one of my- oh my goodness, is it you? did you write these-“
“oh, sirius, shut up.” remus sighed and glared at him, “your brother was a very handsome boy back in school, but i prefer long haired shit heads.”
sirius smiled with a little pout, “you are such a romantic, moony… and speaking of romantics-“
“sirius.” remus pressed.
“it’s torture not telling sirius about this, i tell him everything, but for you i’ll keep this safe. for you i would do anything, my love. i hope you don’t mind, but i may have told remus- you do know!” sirius gasped, “what do you know!”
“i made a vow to never tell you, sirius.” remus shook his head out, “i made a vow to the both of them, and even though he’s dead, i do not intend on breaking a vow with regulus black.”
sirius hummed, “you’re probably right to do that. he’s slimy. he’ll find a way to harm you for it.”
remus nodded.
sirius sighed and looked back at the letter, “i’m going to keep reading.”
“okay.” remus groaned, “but you can’t get mad.”
“why would i get mad?”
“you just would.” remus said.
“oh, it was lily.” sirius nodded, and the way that remus scrunched up his face told sirius that it certainly wasn’t lily, “peter? that… bastard-“
“not peter.” remus shook his head and got back to cleaning.
sirius sighed and read the letter again, “i just couldn’t keep this to myself anymore. he vowed to never tell a soul, and promised to make the same vow to you if you’d like. i have to tell someone about you, my love, about your letters. about your poetry. about your love. you are my everything, and i hold you so dear in my heart. i love you, regulus, more than all the stars in the galaxy. enjoy your solace, bask in it, i have to go listen to sirius talk about david bowie for another three hours, and then we’re going shopping with mum, so- wait!” sirius froze and read the last part out again, he could see remus tense up out of the corner of his eye, “shopping with mum, so pray for me. i’m kidding, i do love your brother very much. i hope we can tell him about this soon, i hope he will be happy for us. love, your sun. oh remus…”
“yes?” remus asked.
“it’s james… isn’t it?” he swallowed, “james was the one in love with my brother?”
“i can neither confirm nor deny.”
sirius dove back into the box of letters and kept searching until he found one with an address written on it, as well as a bedroom- james room. it was james. james had been writing his brother. james was in love with his brother. james was- “what the fuck?!” sirius shouted, waving the letters out and looking up to the sky, “you filthy, lying, brother-fucker! james- oh! i’ll- when i get up there, you’re dead! how could you lie for… for so long- oh, james… you- i’m so sorry.”
remus swallowed, “he wanted to tell you… after regulus died. he- he couldn’t bring himself to after he was marked, james felt completely betrayed. but… when he died, it hurt you so deeply, he didn’t want to risk angering you or hurting you more. and then after that, he just… he never found the time.”
sirius’s heart clenched for his best friend. he loved him. he loved his brother, and he braved the pain of losing him alone. he let sirius cry to him day in and day out about the pain and loss of regulus, and he was feeling the same. he was feeling it too. but he put on a brave face just so sirius wouldn’t hurt so much. so sirius had a stoic shoulder to cry on.
oh james.
you beautiful mess.
sirius prayed he had peace there, in the afterlife, wherever it may be. he hoped he had lily close by, and regulus too. he hoped james was happy again, and he’d be there soon. and the very first thing sirius plans to do when he meets his fate, is hold james just as tightly as james had held him all those years ago, and then he’d hold his brother the same.
sirius sighed and looked down at the letter in his hand, “we’re they… they were happy?”
“very.” remus nodded, “from what i know, james loved him very much.”
“oh, james.” sirius sniffled, holding back some tears, “my brother, why didn’t you tell me? you were- you were hurting just the same as i was- you- you let yourself go through all of that alone?”
“he wasn’t alone, sirius.”
sirius looked up at remus with a weak smile and nodded, “thank you, remus… for looking after us both.”
remus walked over and crouched down in front of sirius, swept some of his hair back behind his ear, “is that not what love is for? caring for one another?”
“it is.” sirius clutched the letter to his chest and let out a tear, “i’m glad regulus had love, remus… before he died- both of them. they both deserve so much love.”
“and they have it.” remus whispered and kissed sirius between his brows, “as do you. i love you. they love you, even in death.”
“i miss them.” sirius sobbed, “oh, i miss them so much.”
“me too, my love.” remus let himself cry too, “me too.”

Mother, i have another poly!moonwater request but its a little angsty and tbh its probs mostly Barty appreciation because i 100% believe he'd be the best support system.
So, it doesnt happen very often but Reggie and reader are fighting. Idk what about, maybe she put herself in unnecessary danger or hid a wound?? But Remus has to take Reggies side or maybe he refuses to get involved.
Anyway, as a result she runs to Barty (i imagine she's his James and hes her Sirius) because he's her safe space and is surprisingly soft and comforting. If its readers fault he would be gently upset with her but calmly talk it out with her however he's still on her side and would hide her away for a couple days and let the boys panic for a minute because thats his person aaaaaand he is a little insane.
Hope that all made sense, and then a happy ending or i will cry.
Love youuuuuuu 🫶
'happy ending or I will cry' say less, babes 🫡 Barty to the rescue
poly!moonwater x fem!reader who's best friends with Barty
CW: mentions of fainting, angst, hurt/comfort, mention of blowjobs, Barty wishing people dead (what's new?)
Remus, throughout his life, has not been a stranger to conflict. His father spent Remus’ earliest years in constant battle at the Ministry fighting against werewolf rights. That conflict turned into Remus’ own lifelong curse of lycanthropy as a form of revenge. Remus’ muggle mother and wizard father spent many years in conflict over how to best love and support their werewolf son. Remus and his father experienced a lot of conflict when Dumbledore invited Remus to attend Hogwarts despite his lycanthropy. Remus experienced a lot of conflict with pureblood supremacists at school. Remus experienced conflict with his own friends, namely Sirius, after an unfortunate ‘prank’ that nearly cost both Remus and another student their lives.
But one aspect of Remus’ life that had yet to be a source of conflict had been his relationship with you and Regulus.
It seems almost unfathomable that the three of you managed to intertwine your lives without so much as a clash, but it was true. Regulus brought a confident and assured energy to the relationship, you brought an empathetic and quiet energy, and Remus supposed he was perhaps the most easygoing of the three of you, and that was good for the group.
It is because of this lack of conflict that Remus was very confused to walk into the private study room that the three of you had reserved to find you and Regulus in the middle of a very heated spat.
“And since when don’t you tell me these kinds of things?” Regulus barked angrily at you. Remus actually had to shake his head as if he were hallucinating; he could have easily mistaken Regulus for his brother who was far more hot headed.
“I didn’t know I had to keep you posted on every little thing that happens, Regulus; I was busy.” You spat back.
“Whoa, okay. What have I missed?” Remus asked cautiously, placing his book bag down slowly on the table as if the situation in front of him were a live wire.
“Your girlfriend” Regulus spat as if girlfriend was a dirty word, “fainted today. And I had to hear about it from Pandora!”
Remus ignored most of the things that came out of Regulus’ mouth at the sound of ‘fainted’.
“Dovey! What happened?” He asked, looking to you in horror.
“What happened is she’s been overworking, under-sleeping, under-eating, and she needs to learn to say no to people!”
You scoffed at that. “You mean learn to say no to McLaggen. Just say it Regulus, this about me tutoring the sod in Herbology.”
“This isn’t about some bloke, Y/N!”
“You fainted?” Remus interjected, looking you over as if he may see signs of a fall. He did suppose you looked slightly peaky, but you were clearly worked up over whatever was going on with Regulus.
“Only a little.” You mumbled; voice still taut with impatience though you lowered the derision in your voice when you spoke to him.
“Right. And tell me, how does one only faint a little?” Regulus sneered.
You met him head on, grunting “Knock it off, Regulus. I mean it.”
Remus noticed a slight quiver in your lip, but you stood your ground. He couldn’t say he completely disagreed with Regulus, but he didn’t think shouting at you like this was particularly helpful.
“Dove, we’re only worried about you. It makes us nervous if you’re not taking care of yourself and we don’t know about it, if we at least knew-” He tried, but you scoffed again, but this time at Remus.
“Of course you’d side with him. I don’t need the two of you looking after me!”
“Well apparently you do.” Regulus barked. You didn’t bother dignifying that with an answer.
“Can we just talk about this later, please?” You asked quietly, eyes turning towards the table.
“No, we’re talking about this now. Because Salazar only knows what I’ll be hearing from Pandora next!”
“Maybe I didn’t say anything because this is exactly how I knew you would act.” You glowered at him.
“Are you even supposed to be out of the infirmary yet? What were Madame Pomfrey’s instructions?” Regulus demanded.
“I’m not doing this right now. You’re acting-”
“What were the matron’s instructions?” He asked again, voice threateningly low.
“Stop it, Regulus, I'm ser-”
“When I ask a question, you answer me.” Regulus ordered; voice booming and full of authority.
You paused in packing up your bag to look at Regulus, holding his gaze as if daring him to utter another word. The atmosphere went from the heat of battle to ice cold in a matter of seconds.
Remus took one last look at Regulus, knowing this would be it; this was how they would lose Regulus. He’d have to tell Sirius that his brother was dead, and it was just better if they all moved on. Cause of death? Oh, Y/N burnt him to ashes with nothing but a glare.
You dropped your bag back onto the table and took a step towards Regulus, dropping into a verydramatic curtsey, making sure Regulus watched.
“Yes, Master Regulus.” You sneered with contempt before returning to your full height, eyes still never leaving Regulus’. “I seem to have forgotten myself. I live to serve the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black.”
And with that, you snatched your book bag and left the study room, slamming the door behind you.
Remus was admittedly very surprised everyone survived this ordeal, though he took a moment to examine Regulus’ form.
“Well...” Remus started. “You’re not bleeding.”
Regulus let out a breath he’d been holding and sunk into his chair. “I don’t...I don’t understand. Was I wrong?”
Remus felt like this may have been a trick question. “Well, I don’t think you were right.”
Regulus looked over miserably at that, eyes begging Remus for comfort. Remus unfortunately couldn’t give it.
“I’m sorry, love. You went too far.”
“I should go after her.” Regulus sighed, looking like he was thinking of getting up.
“Do you value your life?”
“Remus...”
“You need to let her cool off, Reg.”
“But-”
“I mean it, Regulus.” Remus said sternly, raising his eyebrows at the shorter boy. “You were too angry to see it but she was very upset – probably even more so if she’s already not feeling well.”
Regulus crossed his arms not unlike a petulant child being told they weren’t allowed to have a cookie before supper.
“Fine, but soon it won’t just be Y/N I have to convince to forgive me.”
Remus, completely unsympathetic to his boyfriend’s grumblings, smirked as he took out his homework.
“Well, perhaps that’s what you get for acting like your father.”
Regulus let out a very inelegant groan and let his head fall onto the table with a thunk.
Tumblr media
Everyone had their person, for better or for worse. Sirius had James, Regulus had Pandora, Remus had Lily, and you...well, you had Barty.
And perhaps whatever Barty lacked in terms of critical thinking skills and sanity, he made up for in terms of loyalty and enthusiasm.
You knocked on the door to Barty’s dorm from the hallway when you heard a muffled “occupado!” through the wood.
“Barty? It's me.” You called quietly, hearing the sound of a locking charm being lifted from the door immediately.
You pushed open the door to see Barty laying back against his pillow with a cigarette in his hand and Evan Rosier laying on top of him with a book as he read.
“Hiya, treasure. Where’d ya leave Reggie?” Barty asked, blowing smoke away from Evan’s book.
“We got into a fight.” You admitted quietly.
Suddenly, Barty’s cigarette was flicked towards the fireplace and Evan was, very roughly and unceremoniously, dumped from his lap.
“Ah! Fuckin’ hells Junior, what was that for?” Evan muttered as he rubbed the back of his head, standing from his newfound place on the floor.
“Out! I need time with my beloved!” Barty squawked, sitting up further against the headboard and opening his arms for you as an invitation.
“Wha- what do you mean? I’m your sodding boyfriend!” Evan beseeched. Barty spared the boy a glance at that.
“Exactly, you’re only my boyfriend, Y/N is my soulmate. Now out with you.” He dismissed, returning his eyes to you.
You (somewhat meekly as you passed Evan) made your way over and crawled into Barty’s lap as Evan let himself out of the dorm room (his own dorm room, mind you).
“Alright, my sweet treasure, spill. What are his crimes?” He murmured into the top of your head.
“He yelled at me.” You said meekly, voice turning up at the end as you felt tears well in your eyes.
“Dementor’s kiss.” He proclaimed without hesitation. “Egregious, absolutely horrific crime.”
“Barty...” You moaned.
“What? I’m not kidding, I want him dead. Yelling at my sweet girl like that. For shame.”
You let out a sigh as the first few tears fell onto Barty’s shirt. You knew he was seriously hurt on your behalf for not saying anything about ruining his silk button up.
“What reason could he possibly have had to yell at you?” He murmured again into your hair, rocking you back and forth.
“I fainted... in class today.” You admitted with a grimace.
As you expected, Barty paused in his movements and lifted you up off of his body to examine you.
“Fainted!?” He hollered. “How, treasure?”
You groaned and leaned forward, wanting to hide your face in Barty’s chest again. Thankfully, he allowed you to do so.
“I don’t know...Madame Pomfrey said it could be a few things. Not enough sleep, not eating enough, stress.”
“And he yelled at you for that?”
“Well...sort of.”
Barty hummed in acknowledgement but allowed you to sit in silence as he rubbed circles onto your back.
“He was mad because he found out from Pandora.” You admitted.
“Hmm, sounds like Regulus felt stupid. Not an easy task, sweets, Salazar knows I’ve tried.” Barty determined.
“How do you mean?” you asked into his chest.
“He just always seems to know the answers when I-”
“Not that, Barty!”
“He didn’t know you had fainted, and it sounds like he perhaps didn’t even realize you were unwell. He would have thought that made him look like a fool, which it does.” He explained, lacing the words at the end of his sentence with disdain.
“Barty...” you chided.
“I mean, come on treasure; you have two boyfriends, and one of them is a Slytherin! You’re telling me neither of them noticed their most perfect, sweetest angel was struggling? Foolish. You can’t blame Lupin, though, he is a Gryffindor after all; hanging with the likes of those oafs ought to cost him a couple brain cells each day. Hey, listen... you say the word and you and Lupin are more than welcome to shack up with me and Evan.”
“Barty!”
“I’m just saying!” He yielded, holding his hands up in surrender. His faux-serious façade fell away when he noticed the corner of your lips quirk into a smile.
“I’m sorry he yelled at you.” He offered.
You half sighed half groaned as you fell back into Barty’s chest.
“I guess he was just worried about me...” You relented.
“Yes. But don’t make it easy on him, okay? It’s fun to see the sod sweat every now and again.”
Tumblr media
“Regulus...I don’t know if this is a good idea. I really think we should let her come to us.” Remus muttered quietly from behind Regulus, but he wasn’t having any of it.
This had gone on too long, in Regulus’ opinion. You were hiding in Barty’s dorm room whilst Regulus stayed in Remus’, and while he loved Remus, he hated Gryffindor, and he missed you.
“Enough is enough, Remus. I want her back.” Regulus declared as he stepped up to his door and banged on the back of it none too gently.
“Junior!” He barked through the door. “I want my girlfriend back!”
“No one’s home!” Barty called through the door.
Regulus rolled his eyes so far back into his head even he was sure they were going to get stuck there.
He put his hand on the door handle and was hit immediately with a localized stinging jinx, causing him to rip his hand back off of it and hold it to his chest protectively.
“Ow! Fuck Junior, what did you do!?” He called through the door.
“Leave a message!”
“Oh, I’ll leave you a message alright.” Regulus spat.
“Dovey?” Remus tried calling gently through the door. “Can we come in? Please?”
It was quiet for a moment before Barty answered for you. “No.”
Remus shared an eyeroll of his own before cautiously touching the doorknob – apparently it had only been cursed against Regulus.
“Okay, I’m opening the door.” Remus warned.
“I wouldn’t do that! I’m shagging your girl in here.” Barty called.
Regulus watched Remus’ face and knew two things to be true: that Remus was 97% sure that wasn’t true, and that Moony was very worried about that 3%. Ultimately, it appeared that Moony had won, causing Remus to barrel into the room rather ungraciously.
Barty was sat in a chair with his feet kicked up on a desk and a book in his hand, which he lowered to examine the two intruders casually.
“That was very rude, you know. What would you have done if the lady had been indecent.” Barty scolded, using his book to point at your curled up form on Regulus’ bed, pointedly facing away from Remus and Regulus.
Regulus felt his heart crack painfully at the sight, sharing a look with Remus who gave him an encouraging nod.
“Amour?” Regulus called gently, moving around the side of the bed in an attempt to see you. His heart cracked again when you hid your face in your arm.
“Please, my love. I’m...I’m so sorry.” He pleaded, kneeling down in front of you and cautiously stroking your arm. “I should never have spoken to you like that, I...I was wrong. And rude. And out of line. I’m sorry. Please? Please look at me, mon amour, laisse-moi arranger ça?”
You turned your head up at that, and the final splinter that carved Regulus’ heart into two was the tear stains on your cheeks.
“Oh, mon amour, je suis vraiment désolé. Je suis le pire, je suis vraiment désolé.”
“Your fancy sweet talk won’t do you any good here, Black!” Barty hollered from his place across the room. “I’ve already told her that she and Lupin are more than welcome down here with me.” He added with a lascivious wink in Remus’ direction.
Regulus could see Remus’ cheeks pink at the compliment, but he also gulped at the threat.
“Say it ain’t so, mon amour.” He said to you, caressing your arm with one hand and delicately taking yours in his other, bringing it to his lips for a delicate kiss. “Is it finally happening, are you going to leave me for another? Surely you can do better than Junior, non?”
Regulus’ heart sped up almost double time as you offered him a watery smile. “No.”
“No? You can’t do better than Junior?” He teased.
You rolled your eyes as you sniffled and tried to wipe some of your tears away. “No, I’m not leaving you, you sod.”
“Oh, thank gods.” Regulus sighed dramatically, letting his head fall into the bed in front of him. He heard you chuckle above him, and you moved your hand into his hair, gently massaging his scalp.
“Oi! How come he gets head scratches for being a wanker and I get jilted?” Remus pouted from the middle of the room.
“Oh, come here lover boy.” Barty cooed at him, opening his arms and spreading his legs to make room from the lycanthrope.
Remus let out an awkward ‘erm’ from the middle of the room before you chuckled and invited Remus to join you for his own head scratches.
He opted to curl up behind you as the big spoon and wrap his arms protectively around your middle, adding his hand to Regulus’ shoulder as he still knelt on the floor at the head of the bed. Perhaps not the best angle for head scratches, but he was clearly very happy with his current predicament.
“Right then; have either of you tossers seen Rosier?” Barty asked as he stood from his chair.
“Common room.” Remus and Regulus answered in unison.
“Thanks.” He said as he made his way to the door. “Stay out of the bathroom for a while, yeah? I owe that sod so many blowjobs after all of this.”

hi! i hope you're having a good day<3 i was wondering if you could write a remus x fem!reader where they aren't really dating but everyone knows they like each other (them included) where r has kinda mean friends? like, they leave her out of everything and she constantly feels bad about it. and ever time she tells remus he's like "you should drop them, you deserve better" and he's just trying to get her to see that she deserves better?
Thank you <3

Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 736 words
Remus can feel a heaviness building where you sit on the couch next to him.
He lets his eyes slide subtly in your direction, and you’re frowning at your phone. Not an upset frown, no pursed lips or drawn brows, just a slight downturn of the corners of your mouth. You look defeated, and Remus can’t abide it.
“Everything alright, love?”
Predictably, you soften like butter at the endearment, and your expression as you turn to him is kind if not happy. “Yeah, I’m good,” you say, and Remus pretends not to know it’s a lie. He waits. Your eyes drop to his shoulder, one thumbnail picking at the other distractedly. “I just wish…I wish that if my friends were going to hang out without me, they’d at least not post so much about it.”
A familiar ache starts up in his chest. “Oh no. What’ve they done?”
You shrug like it’s little to you, but he sees the way you press your lips together, the faint redness creeping up from your neck. He hopes you don’t cry, if only to spare his delicate heart.
“They’re all at Hannah’s place, I guess. Going to go see the new movie premiere.” You laugh. It sounds raw. “I actually asked them if they wanted to go do that tonight, and they all said they were busy.”
The frailty of your voice works like glass shards, cleaving Remus clean open. “Darling,” he says, and he doesn’t care that you’re not official enough to acknowledge the endearment in its full capacity. You both know he means it well enough. His hand slides atop yours the way one tempers one ingredient by adding a tiny bit of another before the rest. You soften at his touch, and Remus goes all the way, curling his arms under yours to give your back a firm squeeze. “I know you’re sick of hearing it from me, but they really don’t deserve you.”
A tiny drop of warm wetness slides from your face to his shirt. His own fault, really, but if a good cry is what you need he’s ready to indulge you. “I just want to know what it is about me that makes me so terrible to be around,” you weep, and Remus crushes you to his front unthinkingly, a protective ire swelling within him. He wishes he could go to your friend’s house and give these girls a talking-to right now, but you probably wouldn’t thank him for it. He settles for dragging his palm up and down your back, hip to shoulder and back again.
“Don’t say that,” he pleads with you.
“I know, I’m sorry.” Your sigh is a stilted, shuddering thing. “I’m putting you in an awful position. I don’t mean to fish for compliments.”
“I know,” he promises, his hand stopping where Remus can feel your heart beating through the material of your shirt. “And I’m not saying it out of any sense of obligation, but you really are lovely to be around. I mean” —he pulls back so you can see his face, hoping the sincerity in it will make some headway against your self-doubt— “would I be here if you weren’t?”
You give him a small smile, thin-lipped. “You’re very nice.”
Remus laughs, wrapping his fingers around your upper arms and barely restraining himself from trying to shake some sense into you. “I’m not that nice. But okay, Sirius would never hang around anyone he didn’t actually like, can we agree there?” He takes your silence for acquiescence, and, with a gentle smile, goes on. “Every one of our friends sees how kind, and smart, and lovely you are. They” —he shoots a pointed look at your phone— “are the only ones who don’t. That’s how I know you’re not the problem, sweetheart,” he says, softer now. “They are.”
You look him in the eyes as you take a deep breath. This one goes in and out steadier than the last, and some of the tension in his own chest eases. “Thank you,” you tell him.
Remus can’t help himself; he pulls you in for another hug, selfish to his core. “No thanks necessary,” he says firmly.
“I guess the only thing to do,” you say, voice muffled against his shoulder, “is to stop trying to make plans with them and hang out exclusively with you.”
Remus laughs. He doesn’t hate the sound of that.

Summary: James and Sirius miss Hope's first steps, but not her first time on a broom.
i love this little family so much, so now consider 'hope' as a mini series :) - h <;3
part 1 - part 2 - part 4 - masterlist
...
Hope is standing in the middle of the room, her little hands outstretched towards Remus.
He’s holding a magic camera, his eyes wide and words encouraging as he talks to her. They’re in matching pyjamas Sirius bought everyone the previous Christmas that have little Christmas trees and candy canes on. It’s March, the night before Hope’s first birthday, but the matching pyjamas have become a staple of lazy days spent in yours and James’ home. Hope wobbles on her feet a little, big blue eyes wide with laughter. Remus laughs too, snapping photograph after photograph as his niece stumbles towards him.
You’re cheering, too, from behind her, hands clasped to your mouth. You’ve been an emotional wreck all day. Hope turns one, tomorrow, and you’re starting to understand why James is adamant she’s growing too fast. It’s been nine months. The war is still raging on but being able to come home from the potion’s lab, or an order meeting, and have your little girl be there, safe, loved, and a beacon of pure light and joy, makes everything a little less scary. You fight every day for a world in which she can grow and be safe. You know a lot of people aren’t so lucky. But Hope has lived up to her name’s sake for your family.
And now she’s going to be one.
And she’s taking her first steps towards Remus, who’s cheering loudly, and your daughter is giggling, and you’re crying.
Tears of pure joy are streaming down your face when Hope finally reaches Remus and falls into his arms. Remus sets the camera down and picks her up. He holds her to his face, blows a raspberry against her cheek, and she howls with laughter. When he sets her back down, Hope tootles back towards you, bright eyed, wide smiled, and fast on her feet. You’re waiting with open arms, ecstatic when your daughter collapses into them. Remus is back to snapping photos, which you’re glad of because if James isn’t already going to be gutted that he missed Hope’s first steps, he’ll be livid if he finds out there’s no photographic evidence of it.
“Oh,” You breathe when Hope’s tiny hand tries to swipe at your wet cheeks, “Oh, my sweet girl.”
“You okay?” Remus asks, though he looks just as close to tears despite the wide smile on his face.
You nod, wipe at your tacky cheeks, and send hope off to play with the collection of toys she’s set up in the middle of the living room, “She’s growing up too fast, Rem.”
Remus laughs and nods like he agrees, “You sound like James.”
“He’s going to be so annoyed.”
“We have the photos,” Remus tries to placate, but you both know James is still going to pitch a fit about missing Hope’s first steps.
Sirius, too, probably.
Remus gets up to make a cuppa for you both and you settle back to watch Hope. When he returns, you sit on the floor together and watch her. She’s in her own world, not a clue that it’s going to be her birthday tomorrow. She has no idea all your friends will be over for dinner to celebrate her, that there’ll be gifts for her, and cake for her. In a way it’s nice that she doesn’t have a clue. You know one day, when she’s four or five, and she understands more, that you’ll likely have to scrape her off the ceiling from excitement.
When James and Sirius get back Hope is on the suite with a bottle, half asleep. None the wiser, James leans down to press a kiss onto her head as he passes into the kitchen to find you and Remus. The kitchen windows are fogged up, a pot of soup bubbling away on the stove whilst you wash dishes and Remus dries and puts them away. The radio is playing softly in the background, mixed with the soft sound of Sirius’ voice as he talks to Hope about his day.
James appears in the doorway and he’s smiling the kind of smile where you know that he’s feeling grateful for the scene he’s come home to.
“Hey,” He greets you both.
You smile, drying your hands on a tea towel, and approach him for a kiss. You’re on your tippy toes when Sirius starts screaming from the living room. Your blood runs cold as Sirius shouts for you, James, and Remus, mind running wild with every possible danger that could have unfolded in the two minutes he’s been alone with Hope. There could be Death Eaters at your house – though, it’s physically unplottable, the thought still runs through your mind. Hope could have fallen from the couch onto her head. The list is endless.
The three of you are out of the kitchen and standing wide eyed in the living room in record time, scanning for any sign of danger. Sirius is standing by the window, jumping up and down excitedly, pointing at your daughter who is waddling towards him with a wide grin. She’s giggling again, and it’s that sound that kills your fight or flight mode. Now, you smile happily, watching as James proceeds to dissolve into a fit of tears.
He’s smiling and jumping with Sirius, but he’s sobbing uncontrollably, too.
You and Remus share a look. A silent question. Should you burst their bubble?
“Why aren’t you two more excited?” Sirius accuses.
And now you don’t have a choice because you’ve been caught.
“Babe,” James points, like maybe you can’t see your daughter walking back and forth, and he drops to the floor and corrals her into his arms, “Hope is walking!”
You nod, smiling wide, “Yeah, I see.”
Sirius looks at Remus. Maybe it’s because James is too distracted with kissing all over Hope’s face and mumbling how proud he is that he hasn’t noticed, but Sirius notices the way Remus is nervously biting his lip and immediately gasps.
“Treason!” He points at his boyfriend, wide eyed and accusatory.
“What?” James looks up, brows furrowed.
You and Remus are shifting on your feet. Hope sidles up to your leg, arms wrapping around your calf. You take the opportunity to bend down and pick her up, avoiding James’ question.
“How was shopping? Did you find the doll for-“ You try.
“Stop deflecting! They knew! She’s done it already!” Sirius is hysterical.
James stands, hands on his hips, and you fold.
“I’m sorry! She only did it literally like an hour before you got home!”
“We have photos.” Remus tries, backing away from Sirius as he charges at him.
James looks positively heartbroken. He frowns, blinks, “I missed her first steps?”
You frown, walk towards James, shift Hope further up your hip. He wraps an arm around you both, looks down at his daughter and his resolve softens. He smiles, leans forward to kiss her head. She gurgles, looks up at him with bright blue eyes. It fills your heart with love. Sirius and Remus are bickering to your right, and James is talking softly to Hope about how she must wait for him before achieving any more important milestones. You’re so grateful, so filled with love and joy and hope for the future.
The world isn’t perfect.
But when you have a family like yours, the world feels like maybe, one day, it could be.
“Don’t hate me.” You mumble, leaning your head on James’ shoulder.
James huffs a laugh, presses his lips to the crown of your head, pulls you in tighter, “Never, ever.”
“Did you get the doll?” You ask.
James nods, you feel it against your head.
You still have to wrap Hope’s presents. You should really get her to bed soon. But you don’t want to leave this moment with the people you love most.
“So, can I go get the toy broom from the cupboard?” Sirius asks. He and Remus seem to have made up. Sirius is leaning against Remus’ chest, a wicked smile on his lips.
You sigh, look at your daughter, mentally debating. Sirius has been dying to get Hope on a broom since he met her. You gave him strict rules – not until she could walk. And now she can walk. But a part of you worries she’ll love flying. The toy broom is charmed to fly, so you know she can have that. But Hope’s birth parents were muggles, and you know when she gets older, she won’t be able to mesh her magic with a broom to make it fly. Unless.
“Fine. Okay,” You concede. “But no higher than the coffee table!”
Sirius isn’t listening, already throwing winter coats and Christmas decorations out of the cupboard to get to the toy broom.
“I’ll get the camera.” Remus announces.
“What do we do when she’s too old for the toy broom?” You ask James, gnawing on your lip.
“I’ll look into some charms for bigger brooms, I’m not too sure. I’m sure there’ll be a way for her to be on a broom, at least.” James replies, just as antsy at you.
You’ve talked at length about how if you and James have more children, one day, Hope will be the only one without magical abilities. But you’ve never been able to come up with an actual solution. Really, there’s not one. It’s going to suck. But right now, while she has the chance to fly, who would you be to stop her? You never want to hold Hope back. You never will. So, when Sirius returns and takes Hope from your arms, hands the broom to James, you can’t help but feel excited.
James holds the broom and Sirius sets Hope on it.
She’s clumsy, holding onto Sirius’ arms rather than the handle, and she kicks her feet violently, which makes the broom wobble. But Sirius moves with her, laughing with pure unfiltered happiness. Remus snaps photos, following Sirius and Hope around the room. You sit, legs crossed, on the floor, a hand on your heart because you feel like you might explode. It’s cute and it’s happy and your house is filled with so much joy.
“At least I got to see her first time on a broom.” James placates with himself as he sits down next to you.
You laugh just as Sirius tries to take his hands off of Hope. She wobbles and almost topples off the side of the broom and you fly forwards. By the time you get there, Hope has corrected herself, and is flying with ease just high enough for her tip toes to be touching the ground. You still. Let out a breath. Sirius looks up guiltily.
“Her first and last.” You tell James.
“What’s that burning smell?” Remus asks, before Sirius can argue back.
You frown, looking around, “The soup!”
“Shit.” Remus abandons the camera and follows you to the kitchen.
From the living room, you can hear Sirius assuring Hope that it won’t be her last time on a broom, that her uncle Sirius will make her a quidditch star in no time. You hope, by some miracle, that he's right. You'll love her either way, though.

1k words
You couldn’t stop replaying all the interactions you had that day over and over in your head. You were scrutinizing every word you had said, every way you had gestured. You didn’t know if everyone loved, hated, or pitied you. It was possible that everything was fine, but it was equally as likely that everyone who you talked to today were still thinking about your conversations and were still annoyed with you. It was an indescribable feeling, it just made you want to curl up in bed and never see anyone again. Everything was just too much. You were grateful you were home alone right now so no one would have to see the state you were in.
You had taken off your work clothes from the day, changing into a comfy sweater and soft lounge pants. You were on the couch wrapped in a fluffy blanket. (You thought that maybe Sirius had used it last, it smelled just like his soapy and musky cologne. You hummed in satisfaction from the comforting scent.) You buried your face in between a cushion and a pillow, hoping your nest would just swallow you whole and never release you. You had a few minutes to calm down before your boyfriends started barreling in.
First it was Remus’ soft steps as he shucked off his coat before making his way to the kitchen. He probably assumed you were asleep, because when he passed you on the settee all he did was lean down to kiss your temple. You heard him (quietly) clanking around as he put the kettle on. Thankfully the sounds were familiar and comforting, rather than overstimulating.
Then was James and Sirius, being very loud as they burst through the door, laughing and joking. It made you smile against the pillow. They were talking about something they had seen on the way home.
“Moons,” Sirius made a beeline to the kitchen. You heard James hiss when he looked over to you.
“Quiet, Pads.” He scolded. “Baby’s sleeping.”
“Shit,” Sirius whispered, walking past to get to the kitchen.
“It’s okay. ‘M awake.” You mumbled, shifting to sit up.
“Oh, hi sweetheart.” James crouched by the couch. He could cry at how adorable you were, all wrapped in the blankets and what he recognized as his jumper. Sirius and Remus came back into the living room, each holding mugs of tea.
“Wow, Prongs.” Sirius rolled his eyes. “Gettin’ onto me for being loud only to wake them up right when I leave.” He tsked disappointedly and shook his head.
“I wasn’t asleep, just resting.” You took a mug from Remus while James sat beside you, hauling Sirius into his lap. The ink-haired boy turned to face you excitedly.
“Babydoll,” He started. “I was thinking, Marlene is havin’ a thing at her house tomorrow. Not really a party, just a little get together. She was saying something about ‘playing Cards Against Humanity and getting shitfaced.’ How’d you feel about going?”
You were contemplating heavily. You wanted to go, yes. It sounded like a lot of fun. But hangouts like that stressed you out. You always felt like you were saying the wrong thing, not acting the right way. Especially in small groups. You loved Marlene, you loved her girlfriend and probably everyone else that would be there. But that only made it worse. You wanted them all to like you so much that you overanalyzed everything you said, which likely only made things more awkward because you sounded so robotic and scripted. You tried to keep the worry from your face, but unfortunately James could read you (and almost everyone) like the morning paper and he usually felt the need to call it out.
“You okay, sweetness? You don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” He reached over to rub your thigh with his warm hand.
“No, I want to go, I do!” You cut in quickly. “I just-” You snapped your mouth shut before taking a big gulp of your tea.
“You just what?” Remus asked curiously from where he was sitting on the coffee table.
“Are you sure she wants me there?” You asked, worriedly. Sirius looked like you had asked if the sky was green.
“Yeah she does. She wouldn’t have asked if she didn’t. Why wouldn’t she anyway?” His sculpted brows scrunched in confusion. You sighed and set your tea on the side table, starting to fidget and stim with your nails, using enough force to shred your cuticles. James grabbed your hand, encouraging you to play with his fingers instead.
“I just feel like I never fit in at those things. Like, I don’t know. I just make things weird.” You muttered shamedly.
“You don’t make things weird.” James said, squeezing your hand. “Why do you think that?” You lost your words suddenly, feeling all too vulnerable. Sirius was looking at you with enough gentleness to make you sob, like he knew you inside and out (he does).
“I know you get anxious about this stuff. But baby, everyone loves you. I don’t see how they couldn’t. I can promise no one is thinking about how you act as much as you are.” He looked at you, seeing right through you. He abandoned James, making him let out an indignant huff to catapult himself on top of you, wrapping you up and squeezing tight.
“You know,” Remus started. “I was at work today and Aoife would not stop asking about you. She kept saying I need to bring you over during break because you’re ‘heaps of fun.’” You wanted to scoff but you were too tired.
“Angel, everyone loves you. I know it doesn’t seem like it, because your brain can’t always tell what people are thinkin’ but they really do.” You looked at James over Sirius’ shoulder. He was looking so soft as he leaned forward to peck your forehead. You were looking doe eyed at Remus and James.
“Promise?” You asked, quiet and insecure. Sirius pulled away, bringing his hand up to your face.
“Pinky swear, dollface.” You knew how seriously he took those. You reached up to wrap your pinky around his, face heating as he brought your hands up to kiss your knuckles.
“Okay, it sounds fun. I’ll go.” You relented happily.
“Oh thank god.” Remus sounded oddly relieved. “Lily texted me earlier asking if you would be there and I said yes. I really did not want to face her fury.”

Prompt 16 - Bone
@jegulus-microfic January 16 Word count 536
Grimmauld Place was a mess. His mother had turned to madness in the end. After his father had died and she realised she was alone, she’d snapped. Hence, the state of every single room.
Regulus had asked James to help him clear some of the mess up.
“I’d ask Sirius, but he’d just throw everything out.” James had agreed straight away. The fact that Regulus was asking for help meant a lot.
They started upstairs, thinking it might be better to work from the top down.
“Godric, she did a right number on Sirius’s room,” James called as he surveyed the piles of rubbish, clothes and other random items. Regulus popped his head around the door.
“Yeah, no. She hasn’t been in here. This is all Sirius.” James felt his jaw drop. Sirius had always been messy, but this was beyond what James thought he was capable of. He closed the door and joined Regulus in his room. “Sirius can sort that out himself when he comes back,” Regulus said to James as he sorted through the items in the boxes he’d just pulled out of his cupboard.
Amongst the things was a tiny cauldron. James picked it up.
“This is adorable.” He smiled as he wondered why on earth Regulus would need such a small cauldron.
“It’s from my first potions set,” Regulus told him, pointing out the equally tiny vials of potion ingredients. James looked them over. He recognised most of them and could guess what most of the others contained. One vial he picked up and shook.
“Why would a child ever brew a potion that requires a bone?” Regulus shrugged, returning to sorting his belongings into keep and throw piles.
“It wasn’t exactly your run-of-the-mill potions set. Don’t forget who my family are.” James carefully put the vial back down.
“At least tell me it isn’t human.” He grimaced, wishing he’d never noticed it.
“Really, James. Even my parents wouldn’t give a 6-year-old a human bone to brew with. I think it’s rabbit or something.” This oddly didn’t make James feel any better. Regulus rolled his eyes and swept all the vials into the bin bag with all the other rubbish. James stared at the bag, even though he could no longer see the bone, he knew it was still there.
“Oh, for crying out loud, James, it’s going in the bin. Stop thinking about it.” But he couldn’t stop thinking about the tiny, raven-haired, curious boy learning how to brew his first potion.
“Do you think—I mean, if we ever— erm,” He struggled to find the right words.
“What is it, James?” Regulus asked, concerned at the stuttering mess James had suddenly become. James took a breath and tried again.
“Not that we have to, but if we ever have a child, can we get them a little set like that? Sans rabbit bone, perhaps.” Regulus walked forward and wrapped his arms around James’s body.
“You’re adorable, you know that.” He laughed into James’s chest. “But, yes, when we have a child, we will get them a potions set.” James couldn’t keep the stupid grin that covered his face off it at those words for the rest of the day.

“Alright kiddos,” My dad groans as he gets up from his spot on the couch, “I’m gonna go to bed. You can stay up a bit longer but, please, don’t cause harm to anything, okay?”
“Yeah, James, no more fires,” I quip, jokingly scowling at my older brother.
“That was one time!” James cries, obviously offended.
“I’m talking to you too, Y/n Potter, you both bring chaos into this house and I’m not looking to put out another fire at 3 in the morning,” Dad replies as he exits the room.
I turn to James and then look towards the pile of board and card games that we’ve collected over the years, “Uno?” I ask.
“Obviously,” He answers with a smirk.
---
“Oh! You bitch!” James yells as I set down a wild draw four, forcing him to add 4 more cards to his 18 others.
knock... knock... knock... A rap sounds from the front door making both of our heads turn, who could be here at this time of night?
“I’ll get it,” James sighs as he stands up. “Grab your wand in case it’s a murderer and I need backup.”
I roll my eyes at his dramatics, but grab my wand from the side table nonetheless. These days you never know who could be lurking around the corner.
In the entryway, the front door creaks, and I hear James exclaim with a strange amount of abhorrence in his tone, “What are you doing here?”
The voice that follows makes me stand up and I have to physically restrain myself from running straight toward it. I, instead, creep to the door overhearing every strained word, “I just need to see Y/n. I have to see her, please.”
I turn the corner to see Regulus Black standing on the covered porch with tear-stained cheeks and dark circles under his eyes. He looks at me and his eyes light up, like a child receiving candy. He steps forward but stops himself from going any further obviously contemplating whether or not he should step in.
“Regulus? Are you okay?” I ask, rushing over to him and grabbing his face with both hands, searching for any sign of harm. He sets his hand onto one of my own and leans his forehead against mine. He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, seemingly relieved.
“I’m so sorry, I just can’t do this without you,” He says as his voice quivers.
“It’s alright, lovey,” I reply, moving the hand he isn’t holding to run my fingers through his curls. “You can always come to me and I will be there, I promise.”
I lean in and kiss his lips savoring every second of the closeness. When we separate, I move to pull him into a long hug, his body is tense but melts into mine. It may be cliche but it feels like it’s only the two of us at this moment, unfortunately, it is not. James clears his throat and inquires, “What the fuck is happening?”
I separate from Regulus and step in front of him watching James shut the front door and walk back to the living room. We follow and observe him as he drops himself onto the couch and runs a hand over his face. James utters, “Well, are either of you going to explain, or do I just have to assume?”
“Well,” I begin, nervous for James’s reaction, “Regulus and I have been- well… dating for the past year or so.”
James opens his mouth as I try to speak but immediately closes it again, he repeats the cycle until he states, “Okay. Why are you here then, Black?”
“I, uh, it got really bad at Grimmauld Place earlier,” Regulus replies, looking down towards his feet. “I didn’t mean to intrude.”
“Where’s Sirius?” James asks quickly, more worried about his best friend than anyone else.
“I don’t know, he didn’t come home last night, he only left behind a note that said, ‘later bitches’. They didn’t believe me when I told them I don’t know where he went,” Regulus answers grimly, I grab his hand when I notice his eyes start watering.
“Alright, don’t think we’re done talking about this, because we’re not, but I’m gonna go look for Sirius. Get him some tea or something and don’t be gross, I’ll be back soon,” James sighs and runs to the fireplace. Regulus and I observe as he grabs a handful of Floo powder and steps in. He slams the powder down and exclaims an address then immediately disappears leaving behind only ash and green flames.
I sit down on the couch with Regulus and bring him into a big bear hug, knowing he didn’t like initiating affection but needed some for the moment. He buries his face into my neck and breathes in deeply. I feel hot tears slowly drip onto my skin but I do nothing but move a hand up to his curls.
“Thank you for being here,” Regulus mumbles.
I respond, “I will always be here, my love for you is eternal.”
He leans back looking me in the eyes, “I will forever love you, Y/n. You are the stars in my galaxy.” I look into his red-rimmed, glossy eyes smiling at him. He chuckles, “If he wasn’t so worried about Sirius, James would be kicking my ass right about now.”
“I hope that he would keep the ass-kicking to a minimum,” I laugh, knowing the worst James would do is ignore me for a few hours until giving up because he got bored. “Besides I’d save you from him.”
“Would you now?” He entertains, life coming back to his features as we talk.
“Of course, I love you too much to let you be ended by, James, of all people.”
“Merlin, what are we going to do?” Regulus groans, “By the time they get here Sirius and James will have decided whether they will speak to us ever again.”
“We will do what we’ve been doing this entire time, this is none of their business,” I quip, “Besides, you’re staying here from now on whether they like it or not.”
“Really?” He questions, “Can I?”
“Of course, I’ll talk to my mom and we’ll sort it out. You will never have to go back there again,” I reply, strength filling my words.
I don’t ask what happened that night, but based on the past I can infer what he’s been through. If I can help it, I will never Regulus go through that again.
I never did.

Written for @corneliaavenue-ao3 TTPD Several Sunlit Daylights challenge.
Read on AO3 or below:
I. lesson of my life
Every illusion Ginny has ever had is shattered over the course of a single night.
She doesn't go into the chamber willingly. She claws, and scratches and fights against Tom's commands with all her might. She cries, and she struggles, but in the end it makes no difference. She isn't strong enough. As the darkness swallows her up, her final childish hope is for a rescue she knows isn't coming.
When she opens her eyes again it doesn't feel like a miracle. The cold from the stone floor has seeped through her skin, a chill has settled deep in her bones and she knows, with absolute certainty, it will never fully go away.
Of course Harry is there, holding a mighty sword, a dead monster behind him. The very image of the conquering hero she's always fantasised about, but this isn't like one of Ginny's fantasies. He's covered in blood, and his eyes are wide with the same terror that's taken root deep within her soul. There's no triumph in this moment, only horror.
This isn't a dream. It's a nightmare. One that Ginny won't fully wake up from for a very long time.
She learns many lessons that night, but the most important one will come later. After she's spent weeks, months, years putting herself back together, because Harry might have rescued her from the chamber, but, as Ginny will come to realise, the only person who can really save you is yourself.
II. light of my life
Harry's never known a darkness like this. It starts when he watches Sirius fall through the veil, tiny tendrils of black slowly leaking out from his heart, unfurling with increasing urgency until he's overwhelmed by a cold, empty abyss that he's sure nothing will ever penetrate again. How can it when Sirius is never coming back?
He doesn't even notice the first ray of light. It happens so quickly. He's in the hospital wing, trying very hard to let Hermione's commentary on the latest news from The Prophet distract him from the aching chasm in his chest, and the unbearable weight of the prophecy, when it happens.
Luna says something completely ridiculous about Crumple-Horned Snorkacks – whatever they are – Harry can feel Hermione's exasperation from across the small gap that separates her bed from Ron's. Ginny's chocolate eyes meet his, and something happens that he'd assumed would never happen again.
Harry smiles.
It's fleeting, lasting less than a second.  There's very little time to dwell on it before they're looking away from one another, and the grief washes over him again, a tidal wave that steals the air from his lungs.
That's just the beginning though… or maybe the beginning had been years ago. Maybe the blush he'd once thought of as the setting sun had actually been the opposite; Ginny's light rising, her warm, rosy glow beginning its ascent into his life.
She continues to rise that summer, forcing the darkness back with her sheer brightness. Her smile turns black to grey; her laugh is powder pinks and bright oranges; the jokes she coaxes from him are pure, cloudless blue.
When she runs at him across the common room months later, she's blazing, burning red. When she reaches him, when Harry finally kisses Ginny, the sun reaches its apex and his whole life is awash with bright, brilliant gold.
For a few shining weeks there are only sunlit days.
III. loss of my life
Fittingly, they're at a funeral when it happens. Ginny always knew he had great comedic timing. She's not laughing, however, as Harry lays out all his stupid, noble reasons why they can't be together. She's not crying either, though; that feels like a small mercy. The only one she's going to get for a while.
She does cry when she finally makes it home. It's silly, she knows. Silly, foolish, naive Ginny Weasley, a familiar, cold voice whispers through her mind. For once, she doesn't try to argue with it, but she doesn't try to stop either.
Instead, she buries her face into her pillow and lets herself sob until her eyes run dry. Her tears aren't just for her broken heart, but for everything Ginny's already had to sacrifice; her childhood, her innocence.
It isn't until weeks later that she realises the true magnitude of what she stands to lose.
“And then what does she think's going to happen? Someone else will kill off Voldemort while she's holding us here making vol-au-vents?”
The fork Ginny is holding almost slips from her grasp. Her heart falters in her chest. Harry playing his flippant comment off a joke does nothing to return it to a steady rhythm.
It plays round and round in her mind that night. Her knuckles are ghostly white where they grip her bedsheet. Vaguely, she'd known what he'd planned to do, but vague notions and knowing with absolute certainty are two very different things. The task Harry brought up so nonchalantly in the kitchen is nothing short of a suicide mission. It hits Ginny with the force of a barrage of stunning spells, knocking the air from her lungs; Harry might not come back to her.
Two days later, when she kisses him in her bedroom, it doesn't feel like she's saying happy birthday, it feels like she's saying goodbye.
When Harry follows Ron out of her bedroom door, he takes a piece of Ginny with him, one she prays she hasn't lost forever.
IV. longing of my life
She haunts him like a ghost. What was once screaming colour and pure unfiltered brightness is now just a memory, a pale imitation permanently stuck on repeat in his mind.
Harry moves stoically from one hiding place to another and, though they're separated by miles, Ginny follows him to every single one.
He can hear her laugh in the wind that shakes the canvas sides of the tent. He can see her smile in the sunlight that penetrates the thick canopy of the forests they move between. At night, when he closes his eyes, he can almost pretend the sheet brushing against his skin is her fingertips.
It's worse when he has the locket on. Then, he's tormented with visions like the one he'd imagined on his birthday; of her moving on. Finding someone else. Living a life that can never be his.
Horcrux or no, he can't stop himself thinking about her. Aching for her. Longing for her.
He clings to memories of Ginny like scraps of driftwood, the only thing keeping Harry afloat when he's been set adrift.
V. lament of my life
It's like the chamber all over again. Ginny's whole world is flipped upside down in the space of a single night.
She doesn't see Fred go. She doesn't know the last time she sees her big brother that it's the last time.
“Take care of yourself,” he'd shouted over his shoulder as Ginny had gone hurtling down a corridor in pursuit of a Death Eater.
“Don't I always?’ she'd called back.
What if she'd told him to do the same? Would he have listened? Would he still be there?
There's very little time to dwell on such questions in the middle of a battle.  Especially not when every passing second brings another devastating loss.
Lupin. Tonks. Colin.
Ginny's heart shatters into a million little pieces until it doesn't exist at all. Or so she thinks, until she sees Harry's body cradled in Hagrid’s arms.
Then she knows she still has a heart, because it's in unbearable agony. She doubles over from the pain of it. His name escapes her lips on a scream, as though she might be able to call him back to life through sheer desperation.
Tom Riddle talks; for the second time in Ginny's life, she's unable to hear him, but this isn't like the Chamber at all. This time Ginny wishes she was dead.
When the battle resumes, she jumps straight into it with wild abandon. Ginny's lamentation is not filled with tears, or wailing. It's fire and rage for everything that's been taken from her. Tom Riddle already stole her past. Now he's taken her future. She will take everything she can from him, or die trying.
VI. lowest of my life
He's never truly let himself imagine what it might be like to actually defeat Voldemort. If he had, Harry doubts he would have pictured it like this.
If it's a win, why is there so much loss?
He doesn't know whether the grief or the hope is more overwhelming. They mingle together, like waves in the ocean, swelling and breaking, threatening to pull Harry under.
He can feel it crash over him as he stands in the great hall the day after the battle. The bodies are still there; all the people who don't get the second chance Harry does are laid out in front of him. Lifeless eyes staring, unseeing, up at the enchanted ceiling.
The guilt and the pain sweep through him like ice water, filling his lungs; rising up in Harry's throat until there's no possible room for air. He takes a step back, desperate to flee somewhere he can sink down into the cold, lonely depths.
Before he can, a hand, small and warm, slips into his, pulling Harry back to the surface. He releases one, long, deep breath before looking at her.
Ginny's attempt at a smile is tinged with sadness, sunlight peeking through dark grey clouds.
Only hours ago, he'd contemplated all the things he needed to say to her, but now no words are exchanged at all.  Only a look. It's all they need. All they've ever needed. Everything has changed. But he's still Harry, and she's still Ginny.
Instinctively his arm comes around her. Ginny buries her face in his chest, sagging slightly against him, as though she was waiting for this moment to let herself rest. Like she needs him as much as he needs her.
Harry's head rests against hers, the floral scent of her shampoo is faint, lingering beneath everything that's happened. It makes his heart falter anyway. He holds her tightly to him, something he never thought he'd get the chance to do again.  As he's come to expect, time seems to stop for her. They stay like that for what might only be seconds, or possibly an entire lifetime passes.
Eventually, Ginny pulls out of his grasp. It takes less than a second for her hand to find his again, fingers entwining. She pulls gently, silently commanding him to follow her. Harry almost asks where they're going, but he doesn't really need to. He's free to go wherever he pleases now. He'll follow her anywhere.
Ginny looks up at him as they walk towards the double doors. He can still see the embers of her blazing light smouldering in the dark depths of her eyes. He was right, there will be hours, days, and years in which to talk, but he doesn't need her to say a word now to know where she's taking him. He lets her pull him forward, lets her light guide him to a future he's still not sure he deserves to have.
VII. loser of my life
For a while, Ginny thinks she'll never recover from the loss, from the grief and the heartache. It's not the first time she's felt this way, but this time she doesn't have to face it alone. Once she has Harry back, he doesn't leave her side again.
They fall back together naturally. They stitch themselves back together slowly until one day, years later, the sun is blazing brightly in the sky, the pleasant summer breeze is ruffling the grass beneath her feet, and Ginny feels whole again.
“Ready?” Her father asks, holding out his arm out to her.
“Ready,” Ginny agrees, threading her hand through the crook of his elbow. Holding her colourful bouquet of wildflowers in front of her with her free hand.
There have been times, in her darkest moments, when she wished she was someone else. A girl who hasn't dwelt in a darkness that most people don't ever see even in their worst nightmares; a witch who hasn't looked into the eyes of evil and refused to bend, refused to break; a woman who hasn't lost things that can never ever be replaced.
Now, as soft music begins to swell in the summer air, and her gaze locks on Harry, waiting for her at the end of the makeshift aisle formed by the rows of chairs that have been put out in her parent's orchard, Ginny doesn't regret any of it. Everything she's lost is a step she's taken towards this.
She can feel dozens of heads turn towards her, but Ginny only has eyes for Harry, and he, it appears, only has eyes for her. His smile makes the sun look dim in comparison. Still, the corner of his mouth trembles; even from a distance, Ginny can see emotion well up behind his glasses.
‘Don't you dare,' she mouths, feeling her throat tighten as she does. Her arm stretches out, lifting her bouquet like it's a wand, miming hexing him. She's closer now. She can hear the tremor in his laugh as he puts his arms up in mock surrender.
It's too late; the laughter she's coaxed from him doesn't stop the tear that slips down his cheek. Of course, one of her own escapes only a half a second later.
“We look like such losers,” Ginny informs him, shaking her head, as her fingers slip from her father's arm into Harry's awaiting hand.
“Yeah,” Harry agrees, quietly enough for only her to hear. He's still smiling as another tear slides unconcernedly down his face. His free hand reaches up, his thumb swipes away the ones that are currently leaking traitorously from Ginny's eyes. “But you're my loser.”
It takes her a moment to regain her breath. A fleeting second in which she can't quite believe they're here; that they made it. Then she smiles even wider than before. “Not officially – not until we get through this ceremony.”
Harry's gaze holds hers. Ginny almost forgets they have an audience. The world reduces down to just the two of them, grinning madly at one another. Harry's fingers squeeze her hand. “We'd best get on with it then.
VIII. legacy of my life
Books are filled with what many consider to be his finest achievements. Tales of thrilling battles, speculations on unsurvivable curses, and records of great victories are inked across the pages of history.
As are the many titles thrust upon Harry; The  Boy Who Lived, Chosen One, Saviour.  To him, they're little more than noise, assumptions from people who don't really know him, and never will.
When he slips the wedding ring onto Ginny's finger, Harry gets the first title he's ever chosen for himself: husband. Her husband.
Not long after, he gains another one, this one unplanned, but no less momentous. James, tiny, and so precious, is placed into his arms, and Harry becomes a father.
His real legacy begins there. It's not just his, it's hers too. Their legacy.
It's recorded in baby books and photo albums rather than history books. It's memorialised in finger paintings and handmade Christmas ornaments (made under Ginny's expert supervision) instead of plaques and statues. It's hundreds of little memories of their family that will never see the inside of a newspaper, but that doesn't make them any less noteworthy, not to Harry, who'd never dared to imagine that this life could be his one day.
IX. love of my life
“Dinner!” Her mother calls from the back door of The Burrow, her voice ringing out across the garden.
The sun is setting, dipping below the topmost branches of the orchard. The sky is a tapestry of pinks, purples and golds, stretching out for miles above them.
“What do you think?” Ginny asks as her feet meet the ground, dismounting from her broom. “Could I make it as a pro?”
Harry lands beside her. His eyes sweep appraisingly over her. Ginny's stomach swoops like she's still in the air. “I don't know,” he says thoughtfully. “The League is brutal. It requires rigorous training.”
Ginny shrugs unconcernedly, hoisting her broom onto her shoulder as she does. “Do you know any Quidditch captains who might be interested in helping me with such an undertaking?”
“I know one who might be able to make some time for you this summer,” Harry says as he falls into step beside her. He inclines his head towards her broom.“I can take it for you?”
Ginny's eyes narrow, prepared to tell him she's perfectly capable of carrying her own broom, but, when she turns, the way he's looking at her makes her heart race, and the words die on her tongue. without her permission, her expression transforms into a grin. “Very chivalrous of you.”
A weight is lifted from her as Harry settles her broom beside his on his shoulder. “That's kind of what I'm known for.”
“Only ‘kind of’?” Ginny's eyes wander to the quickly darkening sky above them as she laughs. “In that case, I'll be sure to let people know of this latest act of heroism – personally, I don't think you get enough attention.”
“Well, if that's how you feel, you could always give me more.”
Ginny stops midstep. Her head turns sharply back to Harry. She should keep walking, the words that are on the tip of her tongue will lead to something that neither of them planned for on this particular summer evening.
Harry's eyebrows rise upwards; even in the dusk, Ginny can see the challenge sparking in his eyes. Unbidden, she takes a step towards him. “Are you flirting with me, Potter?”
He doesn't back down, but he doesn't make a move towards her either. The brooms he's holding clatter together as he shrugs with just a bit too much tension in his shoulders to be truly nonchalant. “I might be.”
Ginny's blood thrums in her veins as she takes another step towards him. “Need I remind you that I'm spoken for?”
“How could I forget?” Harry's head lowers despite her reminder, until he's so close Ginny can see the flecks of gold in his green eyes. “I suppose he's deeply in love with you?”
“Yes,” she nods with absolute certainty. “And I feel the same about him.”
Harry's head dips lower, the determination in his eyes making his intention clear. Ginny rises on her tiptoes, unable to fight the pull that always inevitably beckons her to him.
Barely an inch of space remains between them. Her heart flutters wildly–
“Oi!” The loud, obnoxious shout comes from the far end of the orchard, making Ginny jump. She turns towards it and finds a lanky figure glaring at them from where he leans against the fence. “When you're done being disgusting, Nanna says to hurry up – dinner’s ready and the rest of us aren't allowed to start without you.”
James doesn't wait for a response before turning on his heel and marching back towards the house.
Ginny rolls her eyes at her son's retreating back. Her hand slips into Harry's, the most contact they're getting, at least until after dinner. “Remind me again why we had children?”
Harry sighs, allowing her to lead him towards the gate James has just departed from. “You said they'd be cute.”
“Well, they used to be,” she says fairly as she pushes the gate open with her free hand. “I wasn't thinking as far as them becoming teenagers.”
Harry nods seriously. “Really, who could've predicted such an unforeseeable outcome.”
Ginny looks up at him as he follows her through the gate. Brown eyes meet green through the burgeoning twilight. Two identical smiles bloom like flowers in spring.
“Certainly not you, judging by your appalling Divination grades.”

"I'm just trying to help you, Bunny, it'll make it easier for you," Remus muttered mindlessly as he skimmed the pages of his book. I rolled my eyes and huffed out a breath before throwing my own potions book on the bed away from me, sour-faced.
"Y/N, watch your attitude." Sirius piped up, raising his eyebrow at me. I ignored him and buried my face in the blankets of Moony's bed. I knew the use of my name instead of a nickname was a serious warning rather than a passing comment but I wasn't in the mood for him to complain about my behaviour. I was stressed, overtired, overworked, overwhelmed and in need of an escape into my subspace but hadn't had the chance for a while.
"I'm just saying, if you don't get some work done now then you'll end up stressing and cramming all your work in at the last minute. You know I'm right Bun." I scoffed, lifting my head as I sat up and staring at the lycanthrope who looked rather surprised at me.
"I'm not a child Remus, I know how to manage myself." I shot back, glaring slightly as I hopped off the bed in a huff.
"Last warning Y/N, you won't be told again." I met Sirius' gaze, challenging him slightly with a scowl.
"Whatever," I knew I was being unreasonable but my bad mood had taken over completely. "Stop acting like you know everything Remus." That was my last word before I grabbed my bag and stormed out of their dorm and down to the black lake for some alone time.
———————————————————————————————
Two days had passed since I had spoken to Remus like crap and on the first day I didn't speak to either of them, knowing they were too pissed off, the second-day things seemed to have settled a little, speaking to me but not being as close and open as they usually were. The guilt of the situation had hit me hard and I scolded myself in my head every hour as I watched how Remmy had shut down a little, distancing himself. I had nested myself into bed at night in the girl's dorm, feeling unusually cold because my boys weren't cuddling me to sleep but I was also too stubborn and hated apologising.
Knowing if I didn't apologise it wouldn't be resolved, I had stashed myself way in their dorm room after my lessons so that when they got back from their lessons I would be there and I could bite back my stubbornness and say I was sorry to my boyfriends. I had planted myself in the middle of Remus' bed with my books around me, completing homework, so that I would be the first thing he saw when he walked in which meant he couldn't avoid me. I had changed out of my uniform shirt and gown into one of his shirts and the bottom half of my uniform to be more comfortable and mostly so I could smell him around me.
Just as I had predicted, Moony walked in first, laughing alongside Sirius, until his gaze fell upon mine and then the laughing stopped much to my disappointment; I loved the sound of his laugh. He walked over to his bed, placing his things on the bedside table before I caught his attention by holding my arms out for a hug. I knew he wouldn't deny me a hug even though he was mad. I wrapped my arms around him and cuddled into his neck, guilt setting in again when he kissed my cheek.
"How was your day Poppet?" I peeked over Remmy's shoulder at Siri, giving him a small, unsure smile.
"Boring and tiring, my head feels frazzled," I muttered, pouting slightly. Remus released me from the hug and continued to put all his things away, changing into sweatpants and a cardigan as he went. I watched with sad eyes as they flickered between the two marauders. I was staring at my hands in my lap as Remus came and sat on his bed, book in hand, and rested on the headboard. I crawled over to him, biting my lip unsurely before sitting beside him and waiting for him to look up.
"What do you need?" He raised an eyebrow but didn't look up, his voice was flat and void of emotion. I had really upset him this time. "You just gonna sit there watching hmm?" I shook my head and lifted up his chin so he would look at me.
"I wanted to say sorry Moony, I shouldn't have spoken to you like that and I know it was wrong." His eyes observed me the whole time as I fought the tremble of my lip. "I didn't mean what I said and I won't do it again. I know you're jus' trying to look after me." I played with his fingers as I spoke, a nervous feeling running through me at the thought of him not accepting the apology and hating me.
"Thank you for apologising Bun, I'm glad that you recognised your mistake and were able to be brave about it. I just care about you is all and I don't want you making yourself ill over work. Next time just listen if I advise you on something okay?" He soothed, his hand squeezing mine as I nodded at him. "Good." I smiled slightly, looking up at him. I knew this wouldn't be all, after all, I was due a punishment and was happy to take it, I had behaved badly after all.
"Y/N come on Poppet, the sooner this is over the sooner you can cuddle and rest." Sirius beckoned me over but not before Remus gave me a quick kiss on the lips, making me smile against him. I stood in front of Sirius as he made himself comfortable on the big armchair, my hands crossed in front of my lap. "Strip to your underwear Poppet." I did as I was told, not wanting to get in any more trouble but left my socks on to keep my toes warm. He nodded as I did and folded my uniform onto the chest at the end of his bed. Within seconds I was back in front of him and he had his hands on my hips. "Now, you know you have to be punished for your behaviour s'be a good Puppy and take what you're given, okay?" I let my eyes glance to Remmy on his bed who sat reading his book, letting Sirius get on with the task at hand. Siri began to pull me closer to him, so he could lay me across his lap but before he could I planted my feet firmly on the ground. The look of annoyance on his face unnerved me, making Remus look up at my defiance but I pouted at him sadly.
"Remmy, I'm sorry," I whispered, "Siri kisses?" My eyebrows furrowed as I bit my lip and tangled my fingers together.
"Of course Poppet." A grin spread on his face as he pulled me in for a kiss, being gentle and comforting as he brushed my hair behind my ear. He knew how on-edge punishments got me and was typically gentle unless he was in a terrorising kind of mood. "Now do as you're told and lay across m'lap, don't want more punishment than is needed do we?" The question was rhetorical and a warning at the same time so I wrapped my arms around his leg whilst I laid myself on his legs, face down.
I braced myself for the first swat as he rubbed my butt, running his fingers over my pale skin which we both knew wouldn't last long. My body tensed as his hand was removed and came down on my flesh with a crack. It wasn't the worst I'd had off him but I knew it would feel worse once my skin started to welt and become more sensitive. The second one came quickly after and I winced at the feeling, shifting uncomfortably until his free hand came to rest on my back, both comforting me and holding me still. I became more sensitive every time his hand came into contact with my ass, after trying to keep my eyes open the tears began to sting them and I squeezed them shut as I whimpered and winced at the pain, my body jolting with each hit.
It felt like I had laid there for hours as each swat followed on from the next, alternating between each side and different areas so it didn't do too much damage. My whimpers soon turned into little cries and then into full-grown sobs which I huffed out, gripping the material of Sirius' trousers as tears spilt over my cheeks and onto the fabric. I had given up wriggling around and trying to stay quiet, knowing it was pointless as my skin seared. Broken sobs filled the room as the spanking came to an end, leaving me with a welted ass, tear streaks everywhere and laboured breathing. Once he had finished, Sirius leaned down and pressed a small kiss to my sore skin, rubbing his thumb over my back in comfort.
"Okay, Poppet, all done now." He sat me up gently so my legs were on either side of his body, smiling at me as I whined when my skin pressed against his trouser material. There was the terrorising side of him, amused by my discomfort.
"All done?" I whimpered, rubbing my eyes as I hiccuped out more sobs.
"Yes Poppet, all done. You took it so well, like a good puppy." I nodded and fell forward onto his chest with a small huff in exhaustion as he soothed me. My hands shook as they curled into his hair, playing with the strands whilst Remmy wandered around the room to find something. I struggled to keep my eyes open as tiredness and headspace set in making me feel fuzzy and soft.
"Bunny, you have to let us put some cream on before you sleep, where do you want to lie." Remus appeared in front of me with a concerned look on his face. I opened my eyes as wide as I could, pouting at his statement but sitting up slowly. I tried to ignore the soreness of my skin as I did but the way the material rubbed against it made the tears appear once more. With an accompanying cry, I held my arms up at the lycanthrope, making grabby hands as he cooed at me. "Okay Bunny, I've got you little one." He recognised the signs of subspace and picked me up, holding me to his chest as I wrapped my legs around him. The two walked over to Remus' bed and sat down with me lying on Moony's chest so my backside was accessible. "Y'gonna let Pads put some aloe on Bunny, it'll help with the pain." I nodded, remembering the reason I had gotten myself into this mess and scooting up Remmy's chest to rest my head in the crook of his neck for my own comfort.
I hissed as the cold cream came into contact with my hot skin, soothing the red, hand-print-shaped welts as I tightened my grip on my Dom. Once in a while, a whimper escaped my throat and a kiss was pressed to my head or the small of my back as they both soothed me. The cream had been applied generously before they manoeuvred me into a loose pair of their boxers and left on Remmy's shirt. I clambered back onto Moony's lap and nuzzled into his chest, drawing patterns on his cardigan as he petted my head sweetly.
"You did so good for Pads today Bun, I'm so proud of you." His coos filled me with happiness and I sighed in relief.
"I thought y'both wouldn't want me anymore 'cause of the way I spoke to you Remmy," I muttered into his chest, fingers tightening in the material of his cardigan. "You do still want me right?"
"Hey little one, of course, we do, we'll always want you Y/N, a bit of bad behaviour because you've got a lot going on isn't going to change that." He lifted my head so I could look into his eyes as he spoke and I nodded, biting my lip. Sirius came to join us on the bed and sat beside Remmy leaning against the headboard.
"Don't ever think we don't want you Poppet," He chipped in, "We know it's difficult for you and sometimes you need something to help you relax or put you back in your place. There are times when you're gonna lash out but that doesn't mean we'll ever not want you." I giggled as he tickled my ribs gently, rolling his eyes playfully at Remus' warning look as if to tell him not to get me wound up when I needed to rest.
"Come on now Bunny, settle down and get some rest." Remmy laid me between the both when he noticed me rubbing my eyes with balled-up fists, yawning as my body started to shut down. I cuddled into Remus' side as I burrowed between them both, too tired to care about my skin rubbing against the material of the boxers lightly.
Night Remmy, Night Siri," I mumbled with closed eyes, smiling as a blanket was pulled over me and Sirius cuddled me from behind, careful of my butt. "Love you both so much."
"Goodnight Bunny." Remus soothed, kissing my head.
"We love you too, Poppet," Sirius added, kissing my shoulder.
And with that, I fell into the best sleep I'd had in the past week, glad I'd made up with the two most important people in my life.

I’m seeing too much of this across all channels and I need to write a little something on my humble blog with my humble amount of followers, because how else am I going to get this off my chest.
Some of you need to remember that this whole world we created is pure, fiction. It’s based off fiction and we are building off fiction, forking off in different directions with characters we love.
The canon vs fanon debate is ongoing and quite honestly, mind numbingly pointless and you all consistently contradict and overlap one another with whatever discourse you’re riding that week. You lot wanna argue a point by saying, “these are my hc’s and I can do what I like with them stop taking everything so seriously teeheehehehe” then uno reverse that the next minute by screaming, “that would never happen *insert name* is this or is that” but fuck canon right? Fuck JKR? Or is it more, fuck the parts of canon I don’t like and I’ll take the parts I do so I can shove them down the throats of creators who represent these characters in an opposing light. The amount of posts I’ve seen floating around these sites that are people preaching to their audiences about how dumb they are (unless it’s meant to be satire, I’m not a brainless sensitive lump with no humour bone) for liking certain things, or enjoying certain things, or preferring certain aspects in a character is astounding. Take pause before jumping on your high horse over a fictional character and shaming people for moulding them into what they enjoy. Is this not the beauty of fiction, imagination; the ability to twist and turn over different traits and appearances within our palms and make them into our own little dress up dolls?
Here’s my two cents as a WOLFSTAR artist, not a Marauders— if I want to make Sirius into a teacup and Remus into a sea slug and have him curl up to sleep every night in his bowl, then I’ll do that with fine china detail. If I want to make Sirius someone who refuses to wear nothing but a specific shade of tangerine and Velcro strapped trainers, I will. One day I might throw Moony into a boxing ring and have him be a middleweight champion, stained by the blood of his opponent whilst his wolf is chomping at the bit to come out just before the full moon threatens to take centre stage. If I want to make Sirius 6ft tall and Remus 5ft1, I will. Why not draw an AU of them as the rocks from Everything, Everywhere All At Once? Maybe, they can be something as simple as a boy and a boy who look the way you want them to look, fuck the way you want them to fuck and fall in love and fight, and scream, and cry, and make up a million different ways.
Let’s get more specific as the seal’s broken. Why not make Remus plus sized and give him a beard or a dad’s bod at age 23. Or maybe because he’s lighter haired he doesn’t have dark hair like that and only has a smattering of it across the ugliest of his scars. Consider this— moony with softer hips but fuller sturdy shoulders. Or long, slender limbs with a deceptively hidden strength owing to his wolf, stronger than James though he doesn’t look it. Onto Sirius, try to tell me I’m not going to put him in thigh highs and fem the shit out of him whilst he holds a bat in one hand covered in the blood of someone who tried to disrespect his Moons. Alert the press when someone erases every single one of his tattoos only to replace them with hyperpigmentation. What about giving him a beater’s build and a long thick trail of naval hair that he likes to call his ‘seeker’s delight’. What about a hairless Sirius who has a soft life and likes to make herself pretty for her 6ft 4 boyfriend every weekend when he gets on the train to visit.
How about, I stick with my personal holy take on the boys and present you with a harmless middle ground where Moony is whatever the fuck I want him to be physically, emotionally, or characteristically but always a wet fucking cloth for Sirius. A grape, under a thumb, you could say. And a Sirius, who is too whatever I want him to be physically, emotionally, or characteristically but will always be Moony’s biggest cheerleader.
Stay with me whilst I offer you the brain stretching, risky, taboo thought for you to ponder on: stop trying to please people. Stop absorbing all these takes that pressure you into thinking you’ve got to include every fucking thing that shaves you down and boxes you into their squeaky clean little creator! Indulge in what you like. Make it public, make it known and make it as loud as you want. Feels good on this side of freedom.
Lastly, quick (none of this has been quick) circle back to myself being a Wolfstar artist, not a Marauders one. I will not be shamed into drawing the women in this fandom, I will not try to even out my art with equal parts women and men, in fear of being called misogynistic. I came here for Wolfstar and I stay for them; I get 95% of my muse from them and enjoy drawing these idiots nearly every single day when I can. I’ve a busy life, a job, the luxury of a family that love me and a couple friends I’d like to keep too. If and when I draw, it’s going to be what I want to draw and want to indulge in, not to check off your boxes of inclusion. I am not going to defend my choice of indulgence to you. I am not going to refute women or wlw ships and in fact, eat up stories or art where they’re prominent. Will I have muse or will to do a piece on them? Probably not. If I do, I will and if it’s not done to a standard deemed appropriate enough by the council, well shit I hope I get an honourable mention in one of your hate threads on Twitter.
Grow up. I am the type of person who has a more or less rigid taste on these boys and what I, enjoy representing them like and you runts will run your throats hoarse before I turn an ear. I am not the type of person to see someone who doesn’t like what I prefer and start slamming my keyboard and slap them with a red card. I’ll move on but appreciate the take in silence. Some of you really, come across like you’re stomping your feet in a tantrum, some of you sound like you’ve never been told to shut the fuck up a day in your life and some of you, some of you, really think you’re a messiah.
Fuck your canons, fanons and righteous attitudes towards people who are quite literally, not real. You are not a deity of the Marauders, you are a fucking loser offline just like the rest of us.

I'd Have You Anytime || Remus Lupin x Muggle!Fem!Reader
i've risen from the dead just to finish and post this! i'm sorry for such the long wait everyone! but here it is! i'm hoping this is sufficient, but i personally love muggle!fem!reader, so she might make a comeback eventually. feedback is welcomed and appreciated! to preface: this part takes place near the first half/middle-ish of november part one (mb), part two (mb), moodboard for this part word count: 3.1k warnings: fluff!!!!!, pining, depression mess, maybe like three swear words
Not working for a week after the pub incident was a blessing in disguise. You were able to break down in silence with nobody secretly judging you. You stayed mainly in your bed, ignoring every phone call and worried message from Lily, James, and even Sirius. Some calls never came with a message, and you feared that it was Remus trying to reach you, so you decided to answer no calls at all.
It was quiet, but it was necessary.
By the end of the week, all your thoughts led to the same conclusion: you were horribly in love with Remus.
As stupid as it may seem, you had fallen for him, and you weren’t getting up anytime soon.
That’s why you acted rashly and left the pub crying. That’s why you shouted at him. You were terrified. Loving someone was a terrifying thing to do, especially when you didn’t really know them. You’d seen Remus twice, and surely that wasn't enough times to truly love someone.
But it strangely was, and you loved him.You knew it because he’s all you could think about. He plagued your thoughts. His face, his eyes, the scars: every part of him was constantly on your mind. Even his voice filled your mind even though you’ve talked to him maybe twice, and one of those times was yelling.
From the chill that ran down your spine when you first saw him, you knew he was the one. There was no doubting that.
Journaling seemed to help, and you spent most of that week doing just that. You wrote pages and pages and ink stained your fingers as you tried to figure out the answer on how you could salvage things, but the answer never really turned up. The only real answer you found is how desperate you were for true love.
A pound on your door caught you by surprise the day before you were supposed to go back to work. You paused your seventh watch through of Romeo and Juliet and walked to the door. You opened it, seeing a crazed-eyed Lily.
“I thought you were dead!” She exclaimed, pushing past you into your flat. “Why didn’t you answer?!”
“Because-”
“When was the last time you cleaned?” She asked, picking up a discarded pizza box from the couch and tossing it on the counter.
You looked around your apartment, suddenly feeling self conscious about its current state. It was a disaster. Pizza boxes, crisp bags, and soda cans lined every surface, and dishes were piled up in the sink. Clothes were strewn everywhere even though you stayed in one outfit for the past week.
“When was the last time you showered?” Lily asked, more concerned than put off by your noticeably greasy appearance.
You shrugged, genuinely not knowing. You knew it had to be at least a week ago.
“Babes,” Lily cooed, holding your hands in hers. “Pull yourself together. He’s just a guy-”
You sighed heavily, shaking your head. “He’s not just-”
“-who still very much would like to see you again,” she finished over you, a spark evident in her eyes. “Especially if you showered,” she mumbled, smiling as you turned red.
You dropped her hands as you threw her a playful glare. “I take it that you’d enjoy seeing me better if I was showered too?”
Lily shrugged, smiling coyly as she mumbled, “I won’t say yes, but it’d be preferred.”
You loosed a sigh. “Fine,” you said, making your way to the bathroom. “Just for you.”
Showering felt nice, and you hadn’t realized what you were missing until you were under the hot water. Because of that, your shower was longer intended, and the water ran cold by the time you were done cleaning yourself off.
You didn’t bother dressing yet since you knew Lily wouldn’t judge you, so you slipped on your robe, making your way to the living room, where she had conquered the mess the trash bags.
“Thought you might’ve died in there,” Lily said from the kitchen, her hands lost in dirty dishwater.
“I had to get clean,” you sighed, your shoulders slumping forward. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“I know I didn’t,” she replied, putting yet another clean dish on the drying rack. “You’re my friend, and I care about you so I wanted to.”
You hugged her from behind, your cheek pressing into her back as she washed another dish.
“I love you,” you mumbled, and she shut off the tap, turning to give you a proper hug.
“I love you too,” she said, squeezing you tighter before letting go. “Which is why-” she sang, a smile growing on her face. “You’ll come to my holiday party next week, won’t you?”
“Isn’t it a bit early?” You asked, realizing it wasn’t even December.
“Everyone does something different for holidays,” she sighed dramatically. “This is the only time that everyone will be together, and I don’t want you to miss it.” You didn’t say anything, so Lily continued. “I know the whole Remus thing didn’t work out, but I can say for certain that he still would love to see you, okay? Just talk to him. Invite him over or something whenever you see him next.”
You sighed. “I’ll think about it.”
Instead of protesting like normal, Lily nodded, smiling softly. “Come on. Let’s go watch movies like we did when we were girls.”
Lily was gone before you woke up, leaving you a note and a scone.
“Have a great day back! Xoxo Lily,” the note read. You took a bite of the scone, getting dressed for work, and began your walk to the cafe down the road.
Melanie was incoherently swearing at the oven when you came in through the back, dropping a pan of what looked like charcoal on the countertop.
She was your co-worker, and you considered her a friend, but she was horrible at her job. You feared for anyone who had to drink her chunky coffee, eat her blackened pastries, and listen to her swear in Gaelic in the week you were gone.
“There’s a guy waiting out there for you,” Melanie huffed, watching you as you tied a clean apron around your waist. “Been here since this mornin’.”
“Oh, really?” You asked, rolling your eyes. “Is it Ed?” You smiled, thinking of the old man with kind eyes who always asked for you to make his drinks. You missed him dearly.
“No, he’s a younger guy… Like our age,” she replied, chucking the burnt pastries in the trash. “He’s been here every day for a week lookin’ specifically for you. Had to ask him to leave by noon so he wasn’t takin’ up a table.” She glanced up at the time, wiping her nose on her sleeve. “I left him today because I knew you’d be here. Didn’t order anything yet, though. ‘M sure he’ll do that once he sees you.”
“Oh.” You felt your face flush, and you suddenly started toying with your hair. You should be creeped out by this, but your heart soars. Somebody is here to see you. “Is he cute?”
“Decent, I guess,” Melanie said with a sigh, glancing at your nervous hands. “You look fine. Just go get his order before he sits here all day looking sad again.”
You rolled your eyes, dropping your hands. “Are you sure-”
“Just go,” Melanie laughed, giving you a playful push out of the kitchen.
He was standing at the counter, his neck hardly craned to see the menu above him. Your heart dropped to your stomach, the sour ache in your chest coming back with a vengeance.
“Remus,” you tried to say, breathier than you wanted. Shit.
“Hiya,” he said. He hardly looked at you, his eyes focused on the menu. “I’m having trouble picking something to order...”
He was so nonchalant, it made your heart ache. His hair was slicked back, like he had just woken up and showered, which was a high possibility since it was only noon. A leather bomber jacket hid a green button up and brown corduroys. He was smiling at you as he stuck his hands in his pockets.
“What’s your favorite drink?” He asked, bringing you back into the conversation. “The other girl just kept giving me black coffee.”
“Melanie has poor taste,” you mumbled, flushing as you looked away from him. “Chocolate?”
“Huh?”
“Do you like chocolate?” You asked.
“I love chocolate,” he said, smiling.
You nodded, silently turning on your heel to start working on his drink.
Your mind, however, was anything but. You were racking your brain on what to say to him. Do you bring it up? Do you invite him over? You could tell Melanie that you needed to take a break, but you just got there, and she would flip her lid. You knew you were going to need the break after the lunch rush. Prepping a conversation failed you last time, and this time, you just needed to wing it.
You sighed, losing a breath you didn’t realize you had been holding in, as you shaved chocolate over top of the whipped cream topping. You turned around, presenting the drink with a smile, ignoring the way your hands started shaking.
“Sweet lord,” Remus mumbled, his hand outstretched. “How much do I owe you?”
You handed him the cup, your fingers brushing as he busied his other hand with cash.
“‘S on the house,” you said quietly, your eyes not leaving where his fingers grazed yours. “Don’t tell me that you’ve been paying for Melanie’s black coffee all week.”
“Ahh, so she told you?” Remus asked, his brow quirked. “You probably think I’m creepy-”
“Endearing?” You finished his sentence before his lips even formed the ‘c,’ “Look, Remus-” Your heartbeat quickened. This was it. It’s happening.
“I’m all ears,” he said, grabbing your hand lightly before the bell ringing above the door distracted you.
“Hi! I’ll be right with you!” You greeted the old woman before locking eyes with Remus. “I’m off at eight,” you said, your voice wavering with nerves
A ding of the bell at the counter this time caught Remus’ attention now, making him glance over.
“Just a second, alright?” You tried to sound sweet, tightly smiling at her. You looked back at Remus, squeezing his hand lightly. “Come back-”
The woman dinged the bell impatiently, and Remus huffed, looking at her. “We’re in the middle of a conversation! Just wait a second!” He snapped, his attention back on you immediately. “I’ll walk you home, yeah?”
Your heart skipped a beat as you nodded. “I’ll see you then.”
“I’ll be here at eight sharp,” he said as the bell rang again. “Better deal with her,” he mumbled, dropping your hand as he backed away from the counter.
“Right,” you half laughed, rolling your eyes with a smile. “Work.” They dinged the bell again, clearing their throat. “I’m coming!” You huffed, throwing a brief smile to Remus before attending to the impatient customer.
“Sorry, we’re closed!” You called, your back turned toward the dinging door as you wiped down the counter.
“Damnit,” you heard him hiss. “I wanted one of those… whatever you made me this morning.”
You turned around, finding Remus at the counter clutching a bouquet of sunflowers.
“A cafe mocha.” Your voice was breathy just like this morning, and your cheeks turned pink as he set the sunflowers down on the counter.
“Should probably get those in some water,” he said, shoving his hands in his pockets. “They didn’t like the cold.”
You grabbed the bouquet, plucking off a dried petal. “Where’d you get them?”
Remus shrugged, a smile playing at his lips. “I know a really good florist.”
You nodded quietly, understanding what he meant as you grabbed a large coffee cup, filling it with water. “Make yourself at home,” you said, busying yourself with the bouquet. “I still have to put a few things away… Wipe down a few surfaces. It’ll take me five minutes tops.”
Remus nodded, his hands still in his pockets as he turned on his heel, perusing his way toward the bookshelves near the front of the cafe.
Rather than getting to the work that you had, you watched him.
His long, slender fingers grazed the books as he looked at them, taking his time to look at each spine. He gasped quietly to himself, pulling the book from the shelf.
“Do you mind?” He asked as if he knew you were looking at him, holding up a book.
“As long as you bring it back,” you replied, instantly getting back to work to hide your reddened cheeks.
“I’ll probably be back here tomorrow,” he said, slipping the book in his pocket. “If you’ll have me.”
“Oh, I’d have you anytime,” you replied, glancing up at him to catch him staring and smiling softly. Your heart clenched as you cleared your throat. “What book did you pick?”
“The Shining by Stephen King.” Remus made his way back to the counter, watching you as you put dishes away. “Have you read it?” You nodded, finishing up. “Was it any good?”
“Do you want to know what it’s about?” You asked, facing him as he nodded. You smiled, undoing your apron. “Alright. I’ll tell you all about it.”
“So Danny can see these people?” Remus asked, clutching the book to his chest as he kept up with you on the quick walk.
“Well, they’re ghosts,” you laughed at his reaction. “They aren’t real-”
“Ghosts are very much real,” he said, his eyebrows raised. “I’ve seen them.”
“Well in this case, Danny sees them in his head,” you explained. “It’s the shine.”
“Ahh, I love it when the book title works its way into the story,” Remus sighed, smiling as you slowed. “Is this you?”
You nodded. “This is me,” you confirmed, looking down at the cup of flowers. “You uh-”
“I’ll see you around,” he said quietly, squeezing your elbow.
“You can come up.” You swallowed the nervous lump in your throat. “Uh- If you want?”
Remus seemed to stand straighter. “I would love that.”
You smiled, pushing open the complex door, holding it for him to duck inside.
He followed you closely up the stairs, his hands in his pockets. You focused on your feet, knowing that if you didn’t, you’d surely trip. Your brain was screaming, but you kept quiet, the burning in your chest coming back.
You made it to your flat, and you fumbled with the keys, unlocking your door and shuffled inside, Remus in tow.
Closing the door you sighed. “Did you give me a love potion?” You asked candidly, setting the flowers on the counter.
“What?” Remus was still at the door, toeing off his shoes.
“At the wedding?” You could feel your face flushing, feeling stupid, but continuing on anyway. “You gave me a potion you called a sober-up potion… Was it actually-”
“Love potions are very unstable,” he said quietly. “Why would you think that I’d give you one?”
You shrugged. “It’s an easier explanation than what’s really going on.”
“And that is?”
“I think I’ve fallen in love with you,” you admitted quietly. “That’s stupid, right?”
“I don’t think that’s stupid,” Remus quietly cooed. “I really like you,” he started, his hand now on your shoulder. “I don’t reckon you heard that at the pub even though I told you thrice.”
“Still?” You guffawed when he nodded matter-of-factly. “Remus, I don’t think if you’re remembering right, but I was a c-”
“You should really listen,” he reminded you, his tone lilting. You stopped, crossing your arms over your chest. He took a step away from you, leaning on the counter across from you. “You were looking at the moon. Saying how you preferred the sun more because without it, the moon would just be another dark rock. That made me think, you know? Would I be just a dark rock without you someday? Could I ever get so lucky?”
Your heart clenched at his words, but he continued, ignoring the way your eyebrows pinched together as you nodded.
“Sunflowers,” he said, nodding at the bouquet in its coffee cup vase. “They reminded me of you. They represent sunshine, you know.”
You felt like crying. You felt like kissing him and never stopping. Nobody had ever been this kind, this open, with you before. You swallowed, looking away from him.
“I got full body chills when I caught you looking at me at Lily’s wedding. I thought, ‘I need to buck up and talk to him.’ Then you talked to me while I was reeling over how handsome you are,” you said quietly.
Remus shook his head softly. “You’re just saying-”
“No,” you said, cutting him off. “It’s your turn to listen.”
He conceded, hands going up in quiet allowance for you to continue. You sighed, tucking your hair behind your ears.
“I regretted going to the pub because you were there, and you felt different. Like… like the one that got away.” It was like word-vomit. Once you started, you just couldn’t stop, so you continued. “The one that didn’t want me, and I’m so desperate for someone to want me that I start to get angry. I want to be wanted, you know? And I was terrified, Remus, because I love you, and it seemed like you wanted nothing to do with me. A-and now, I just can’t believe that someone like you would want something like me.
“Someone who yelled at you for a misunderstanding. Someone who opens her stupid mouth and ruins absolutely everything.” You hadn’t realized that you started crying until you paused to take a breath, sniffling up tears instead. “Someone who isn’t magic- God, I’m so sorry.”
“Hey, hey,” he said, crossing to where you were standing. Slightly crouching, he held your arms, thumbs brushing your biceps lightly. “None of that matters,” he cooed. “I was never mad. A little confused, but hey, aren’t we all?”
You let out a wet chuckle, shrugging. “I suppose.”
“I want you, okay?” He said, cupping your cheeks. “I want you.”
Remus leaned in, eyes flicking between your lips and your eyes as if waiting for your approval. You met him halfway, capturing his lips in yours in a soft kiss. Your heart clenched as you pushed closer to him, hands meeting his stubbly jaw before he pulled away.
“I love you, and you are wanted, alright? Don’t you ever forget that,” he reassured you, smiling.
You nodded. “Okay,” your voice came out raspy, causing you to flush. “Could we do that again?”
“Oh, I’d have you anytime, love,” he said. “Anytime.”

a/n: day 3 of my writing challenge, first time posting ANY of my smut, i hope you enjoy!
❛ ━━━━━━━━・❪ ❁ ❫・━━━━━━━━━ ❜
Having James Potter as your brother was a whole other experience. As much as you loved him, sometimes you wished he wasn’t your brother just from how the other students treated you because of him.
You’d lost count of the number of girls who pretended to be your friend just to get to one of the marauders. Once they realised you were not a pathway to getting in their beds, they’d ditch you.
You were close with Remus and you were friendly with Peter, but Sirius and you had a bond that you didn’t have with the others.
It all started in your third year. Your brother and his friends were the year ahead of you, so you didn’t share any classes, but you hung out around them long enough to know how closed off Sirius was about his home life. Rarely mentioning his family when you were around.
That all ended when you found him crying in the common room in front of the fireplace, you made the decision to sit next to him. You didn’t hold him, neither of you spoke a word to each other. You just rested your hand on his shoulder as he sobbed.
That night shifted your relationship with Sirius completely. Instead of you being “James’s younger sister” you had become someone Sirius often went to for comfort when he needed it, and he was always there when you needed comfort from him.
In your fifth year, you started dating your first boyfriend. It was fine for the first couple of weeks, but eventually, he tried to pressure you into going further than you were comfortable with. Once you’d made your boundaries clear, he dumped you.
Sirius found you sobbing where your now ex-boyfriend left you, he’d never felt angrier in his life. Holding you, seeing you cry over a guy who never deserved you. No one had to ask how the boy got a black eye the next day.
When Sirius moved in with your family, you couldn’t help but develop a school girl crush on him. Every time he’d sneak into your room at night to talk to you about his plans to prank Snape, you wished he’d just stay with you all night. But every time he went back to his shared room with James, you knew all you would be was James’ little sister.
You and Sirius remained friends even after he graduated, constantly writing to each other about your days. As much as you loved your friends at Hogwarts, you missed the marauders so much, especially Sirius.
The boys swore to you and your brother that they’d be there for your graduation, and they followed through on that promise. You were shocked when you saw Sirius after the ceremony, he was always attractive, but you really noticed it this time.
He’d let his beard grow out and he cut his hair short. You were sad when he told you that, you loved his long hair. But the story of James putting charmed gum in his hair still made you giggle.
“Hey, bug!” He said, picking you up and spinning you around like he always used to do. “I missed you so much.”
You giggle, wrapping your arms around his neck. Although he looked so different, he smelt just like he always did. “Missed you too.” You mutter shyly as he puts you down.
He furrows his brows, “You okay?”
Shit, you think. He can’t know the thoughts that are running through your head. He’s James’ best friend, he always has been. You shook the thoughts out of your head. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Your parents take all of you out to dinner at a muggle diner. Sirius pulls out the seat for you to sit next to him, you smile, sitting in the chair.
You struggle to behave normally around Sirius, all the feelings you had when you were younger coming back- with a new angle. All you want is to drag him to the nearest bathroom and fuck him then and there- what the hell is wrong with you? This is James’ best friend! You need to calm down, You think to yourself.
But when Sirius notices your weird demeanour, he places his hand on your thigh, rubbing soothing circles with his thumb. You look up at him, and he sends you a soft smile, raising his eyebrows as if to ask “Is this okay?”
You nod, relaxing into his touch and settling in for the dinner. But as the night goes on, Sirius’s hand seems to drift… higher? You’re convinced that you’re just making it up, it feels like it’s going higher because you’re focusing on his hand. That was your line of thinking until his thumb brushed just under your skirt.
Your breath hitches when you realise that he’s doing it on purpose. Nervous arousal fills your stomach as he slowly shifts his hand under your skirt, stopping once his hand is covered by it.
He left his hand there for the rest of the night. When it was time for you to leave, he gave your upper thigh one final time before slipping his hand out from your skirt.
Although Sirius and Remus shared a place and James had his own house with Lily, they all decided to stay with you and your parents for the night- for old time's sake.
You were exhausted from the day, and still reeling from whatever the fuck happened with Sirius, so you excused yourself to bed. You were lying in your bed for hours, staring at the ceiling, unable to get to sleep.
Eventually, there was a knock at your door. “Come in.” You whisper, confused as to who it could be.
Sirius emerges from the doorway, that famous smirk plastered on his face. “I thought if we’re ‘reliving the old times, I may as well sneak in here again,” he says, walking into your room.
You smile at him, feeling relieved about having a friend here with you.
His face shifted to something… worrisome. He gulps before sitting on your bed, “I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable earlier today,” he says, hand reaching for your ankle.
You look up at him, “No, you didn’t, it's fine.” You say, moving slightly closer to him.
He takes a shuddered breath, his face relaxing, “Good, I was worried I crossed a line. It’s just- I haven’t seen you in so long and you look… just- wow.” He says, looking you up and down.
A smile plasters itself on your face, feeling warm at his compliment, “I was thinking the same, you’re also very- wow.” You say, giggling.
Sirius’ hand comes up to graze your face, you lean into his touch, “I missed you so much bug,” He says, shifting so the two of you were sharing breath.
You think to yourself, debating on whether you should say what popped into your head, but it’s now or never, “Show me.”
He groans, pushing his lips into yours, you immediately reciprocate the kiss. Carding your hands through his hair as he rests his hands on your waist. The kiss is fast, heated, chasing the passion and pleasure you’ve desired for so long.
Sirius breaks the kiss and moves across your jaw down to your neck, finding your sweet spot and biting to suck a bruise. You let out a soft moan, tugging on his hair. He groans, sending vibrations down your body.
You're guided to lie down on your back, you spread your knees to give him room and he slots in between them, grinding down onto you. You moan into his ear, causing him to sit up and fiddle with his jacket pocket.
You look at him, “You okay? Did I do something wrong?“ You ask.
Sirius turns back to you, eyebrows furrowed. He leans down and places a chaste kiss on your lips. “No baby, you’re doing perfect.” He sits back up, “Just getting… this.” He pulls his wand out of his pocket.
He casts the muffilato charm, tossing his jacket and his wand off the bed to come back down to you.
Sirius returns to the place he was before, rolling his hips into yours as he pushes back into the kiss. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer.
He moves his hand to tug on the hem of your shirt, asking for permission to take it off. Your nerves hit your body, but you bite them back to lift your body to help him pull it off you.
He leans back to take you in, letting out a shuddered breath, “Fuck, baby you’re beautiful.” He leans back in to kiss your collarbone, moving further down to take your nipple in his mouth.
“Fuck Siri,” you moan out.
He hums, the vibration making the stimulation all the more pleasurable as he rolls your nipple in between his teeth.
You buck your hips into Sirius’, eliciting a moan from him. You tug at his shirt to pull it over his head, he releases his mouth from your breast to let you. You look down his torso, you knew he had abs, but fuck- man’s got abs.
He plays with the strings of your sweatpants, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips, “Is this okay?” He asks.
You nod, lifting your hips to let him pull your sweatpants off of you. You go to pull down your panties, but he stops you. Looking up at him, you furrow your brows.
He presses a kiss to your lips, then your cheek, then along your jaw, neck, collarbone. He presses one kiss to each breast, then down your stomach to the waistband of your panties, biting the elastic and dragging the fabric down your body.
You giggle, trying to cover up how much that turned you on, but since he can see the wet patch in the panties he just pulled off of you, it’s probably no use.
He kisses up your thighs, leading up to press a lingering kiss to your pussy lips. You buck your lips into his mouth. He lets out a laugh, “So needy,” he says. “What’d you want baby?”
You lean on your elbows, Sirius already looked fucked out. His face is red, his hair is a beautiful mess, his lips are swollen, you don’t want to think about how far gone you look right now.
Sirius goes back to pressing kisses into your thighs, “Please- please touch me Siri.” you mewl.
He smiles, immediately diving into your pussy. He licks a long stripe from your slick to your clit, causing you to let a loud moan out. He sucks on your clit while he toys at your entrance with his middle finger, shallowly pushing it in.
Desperate for more stimulation, you roll your hips into his mouth, he pulls back completely. “Are we gonna behave?” He asks, rubbing your thighs with his hand. You nod, needy for him to let you return to the ecstasy you were experiencing.
He hums, leaning back in. Immediately pushing two fingers into you and curling them. You let out a loud moan, gripping your sheets with one hand and carding the other through his hair.
He laps at your clit as he searches for your sweet spot. Fuck- this guy knows what he’s doing. Not that the fact is that surprising… you heard all the rumours, and adulthood seemed to leave him even more experienced.
When he finally hits your spot, a guttural moan escapes you. “There she is…” he murmurs, the vibrations only adding to your pleasure.
You can feel that coil in your abdomen, Sirius knows it too, your moans and breathless praises only encouraging him to go harder. He continues to hit that spot inside you until you’re a sobbing mess, the coil about to snap.
“Come on baby,” he praises, sinking a third finger into you, “Cum on my fingers.”
You release at his words, your orgasm so strong you think you’re gonna black out. You ride on his mouth and fingers until you’re on the brink of overstimulation, but when you stop- he only keeps on going.
“Siri-Siri…” you warn, “please,”
He chuckles, pulling his fingers out of you and resting his head on your thigh. You try to ignore the fact that his face is wet. He presses a few kisses to your thigh.
With how pleased he looks, you would’ve thought he was the one who just got head. You let out a breathy exhale, still coming down from your high.
“You okay?” He asks.
You nod, breathless. “That was fucking amazing- holy shit.”
He smiles, crawling up to kiss you. It’s strange to taste yourself on his mouth, but you kind of like it. You toy with the waistband of his sweatpants while the two of you lazily make out. He smiles into the kiss, moving to help you pull his sweatpants off.
Well… the grey sweatpants did him justice. You were intimidated by his length, leaning forward to stroke his cock. He moans into your lips, rolling his hips into your hand.
He shifts, gripping his cock out of your hand. Pushing your legs out to get a better angle, and lines up with your entrance.
“Ready?” He asks. You nod, but he tuts, shaking his head and going in for another kiss. “… words, bug…”
You whine, “Yes… yes please.”
He smiles, pushing in, his mouth immediately contorts. You grip at his arms, overwhelmed by the pleasure, barely feeling the burn because of how well he prepped you.
“Fuck baby, you’re so tight.” He moans.
He slowly bottoms out, looking at you for any sign of discomfort. You meet his eyes, pulling him down for a kiss. He puts his hand on your cheek. Pulling back to look at you with raised eyebrows, you nod, and he starts to roll his hips into yours.
“F-fuck.” You moan as he pulls out nearly completely, immediately thrusting back in.
He groans as he continues to bottom out in you, “Shit baby, taking me so well.”
His thrusts grow faster and deeper, gripping your breasts and kissing down your neck, biting another bruise.
You’re not sure if the muffling curse will be enough to cover the moans you let out. Sirius continues to mutter praises as he thrusts in you, his moans sounding pornographic.
His hand slides down your body to rub your clit, a gasp escapes you. You card your hands through his hair, tugging at the short strands. He moans, pushing his mouth against yours, messily kissing as he swallows your endless moans.
His cock hits your same sweet spot, your eyes roll to the back of your head. He groans as your walls clasp around him. “Fuck baby,” he says in between kisses, picking up his pace.
You can feel his pace get sloppier as the coil in your abdomen returns. You pull from the kiss, “Cum in me Siri, please.” You beg, your body just about to fall into your high.
He buries his face in your neck, “Please cum baby, it’ll feel so good when you cum.” He begs, rutting his hips into yours.
The coil snaps and your high washes over you, you’re so far gone you don’t even notice that he’s cumming until you feel the warmth fill your abdomen. Sirius slows down, picking a pace to fuck you both through your highs.
Eventually, he comes to a stop, collapsing on top of you, burying your face into his neck. You brush the hair on the back of his head, kissing his cheek. “You okay?” you ask.
He nods, “Fuck, you’re amazing, you know that right?” He says, voice muffled and tickling your neck.
You laugh, you just lied there while he ravaged you, and you’re the one being praised. You pull his head up, leaning forward to kiss him.
He groans, pulling out of you to lie next to him. “James is gonna fucking kill me if he finds out,” he pulls you into his chest, and you relax in his hold.
“Nah,” You smile, “I’ll beat him up if he tries.”
He kisses your forehead, “Y'know you just made like… sixteen-year-old Sirius’s dream come true.” He jokes.
You roll over to face him. “You liked me back then?”
He smiles, “I’ve liked you since then,” you start giggling, “what?” he asks.
“That was when I started liking you.” You say in between laughs.
He strokes your back with his thumb, you’re telling me we could’ve been doing this the whole time?”
You nod, a playful smile on your face.
He mirrors your smile, “Guess we gotta make up for lost time.”

Tumblr media
and we will never go back to that bloodshed, crimson clover
in the bustling city of london, a cacophony of sound engulfs the snowflakes falling from the transcendent sky. you clutch your hands underneath the warmth of your coat, hiding your nose under the layers of scarf you had wrapped around your neck. tom handed you a firewhiskey and you let the warm liquid flow down your throat like a bittersweet memory.
it was another day with failure. you had been trying to find a job for remus, but rarely anyone would accept a werewolf as their assistant. you worked as a healer, so you couldn't possibly hire him as your assistant. and he remained too modest to accept money without any reason.
'thanks tom,' you say, your voice muffled against warm wool. you cling a few sickles on the counter. 'keep the change.'
you disapparate to your house. the cold metal of your keys jingle under your grip, and you unlock your door.
'harry, honey, i'm home,' you call out. your heart skips a beat when the regular trotting of small steps don't ponder at your call. you shout his name louder and your voice echoes in your hollow hallway.
the silence that echoes in your dull heartbeat is stronger. flashing memories of walking past james' dead body to discover lily's corpse flooded your mind and your footsteps faltered as you walked into your bedroom. anger throbbed inside you, anger at yourself and sirius. you had told him to stay with harry. why hadn't he come?
your fears weren't true. sirius lay in his dog form with harry on top of him. both of them seemed to be fast asleep.
'sirius, wake up. i'm here.' you say, picking up harry from his body. you place a soft kiss on his forehead, and your unintentional tears wet his cheek. you wipe off the tear before it would flow down his neck.
sirius gets up from the floor. you notice a bruise on his neck, but you don't question it. you sway harry in your arms, walking towards his cot.
'let me have him for the night,'
you stop dead in your tracks. with your back turned to his face, you're not hesitant when you offer him your reply.
'no.'
'why not?'
'i'd let you have him if your trauma wasn't so fresh. you're coping mechanisms aren't fit enough to keep a baby,'
'what the fuck do you mean by that?'
you place harry in his cot, turning towards him.
'don't curse. you know very well what i mean.'
'oh- so you're going to stand there pretending you're the best mother ever?'
'i never said that, no. i just have comparatively better coping mechanisms. and i'm not shaming you for your coping mechanisms either. so really, don't take any offence,'
'no offence my foot, i'm his godfather!'
'i'm his godmother, sirius,'
'godmother? oh yeah the great mother. don't stand there acting like a saint when i take care of him throughout the day. you just go out and be a healer. you don't care about him.'
you're not sure if his words are meant to sting. but they do. like little pricks absorbing into your heart with every second you stare into his eyes. your vision is blurred, hazed but your mind is clear as day. you feel bruised like violets. it was like taking your poison all alone. your breathing is rugged, hot tears flowing down your cheeks. you were diesel, a desire.
and he was playing with fire.
'i-i'm sorry i didn't mean that,' he says, his voice cracking. he moves closer to you, holding you. and maybe it's the familiarity of his touch. but it felt like bloodshed, a lost morning glory within the grasps of an unfair war. you feel like you're sinking when his scent haunts you again. you feel like you're on fire when his touch thrives into your skin again. you feel like you gather storms, never knowing what they'll mean.
you're not sure whether he wants to haunt you again or not. you're not sure whether he wants to go with grace or not. you're not sure if you're dead to him.
your tears paint his shirt. the war was over, the battleships would sink beneath the waves. so was the bloodshed. you'd never weep in a sunlit room alone. it was a cold ghostly grace of his lips against yours. which cursed your name, wrecked you. it was your home, it was engraved in your bones.
and maybe his love would never slip out of your reaches.

Hi!!! I saw you did a poly!marauders with a plus!dive reader who’s insecure…
Can you write one where the reader is shying away from intimacy with the boys because they’re insecure and feeling ick about their body? Like not just sex but also physical touch like hugs or especially sitting on their laps? It can include smut too if you’d like!
I’m feeling pretty ick about my size rn and the fix really helped me! Thank u sm for your writing
Thanks sm for requesting lovely! I hope you start to feel better soon <33
cw: insecurity around size/weight, talk of traditional beauty standards
poly!marauders x plus size!reader ♡ 1.3k words
The funny thing is, the boys have been wearing away at your instincts for months. It’s no conscious effort for them, but for you it’s impossible not to notice. Before you got together, you’d been used to shying away from nearly every touch. You rarely hugged anyone, kissed only chastely, and shunned most physical intimacy. But though they’ve gone about it in a gentlemanly way, never putting pressure on you, your boyfriends have slowly changed that. Now hardly a day goes by without James having had his arm around your waist, Remus raking casual touches up your leg, or Sirius turning a kiss into a feely makeout.
Unfortunately, you still have your bad days. Earlier this week you’d looked too long into the mirror, and of course found a dozen things to hate about your body, and hadn’t wanted any of the boys to touch you since. When Sirius’ hand had smoothed over your lower back yesterday, skimming the rolls of fat at your sides, you’d almost thought you’d be sick before you could get away from him. You couldn’t stop thinking about what he’d feel there, what he’d think of you when he did. You’re not stupid; you know your boyfriends can see you, but touching is something different. What they probably want to feel isn’t what you have to offer, perfectly smooth skin and sloping, gentle curves. It sometimes feels like you’re keeping the secret of your true form from them, and if they discover it they’ll see you the same way you do.
“So, what’s the big secret?” Sirius asks as you come into the common room. All three boys are tangled up on the couch, and the other two turn to look when he calls out to you.
You give him a bemused sort of smile, perching on the armrest next to James. Careful not to put much of your weight on it. “What do you mean?”
“Don’t play coy.” Sirius narrows his eyes at you playfully. “I saw you whispering with Evans earlier, glancing at us all mischievously. What’re you two up to?”
You have to bite down on your smile. Sirius’ birthday is coming up, and you and Lily are in charge of his surprise party plans. James and Remus are involved too, of course, but it’s far easier for you and Lily to speak about it in your dorm at night, whereas your boyfriends hardly get any time apart to partake in secret plans.
“Oh,” you say breezily, “that was nothing. She was asking if we’re going to hogsmeade tomorrow. I told her we are.”
James smiles at you conspiratorially, bringing a hand to your thigh and rubbing up and down in silent support. You almost have a heart attack. You place your hand hastily atop his, intertwining your fingers as cover for your panicked response. James doesn’t seem unhappy with the change, resting his head against your arm as he strokes his thumb across the back of your hand.
“Should we make it a study session in hogsmeade?” Remus asks, neatly keeping the subject away from Sirius’ party. “We’ve all got that potions paper due Monday.”
“I’ve finished,” you admit, “but I’m still open to studying if you guys want to.”
Remus rewards you with a smile as Sirius rolls his eyes good-naturedly. “Show-off,” he mutters.
“Shut up, Pads,” James says, always looking for any opportunity to take your side over Sirius’. He grabs your waist before you can stop him, tugging you off the armrest.
No sooner do you land on his lap than you’re springing to your feet. “James!” you cry, batting at his hands when they reach to pull you back. “You can’t just do that, I’ll crush you!”
Thick eyebrows fly up past the rims of James’ glasses and disappear behind his curls. “I’m sorry,” he says, in a tone that clearly means the opposite, “do you really think I’m so weak that I’ll crumble from you sitting on my lap?”
“It’s not—”
“Fucking hell,” Sirius cuts in, looking horrified, “if you think James can’t handle you, what do you think of Remus and I?”
“I’ll bench press you right now,” James insists, trying to push the other boys aside so he has room to lay down. “Come here, lovie, we’ll see who’s weak.”
The laugh that emerges from your throat borders on hysterical. “I wasn’t trying to say that anyone here was weak, okay? I just…” There’s no good way to phrase that last part, and you think for a moment to simply leave it there, but Remus leans forward, setting his elbows on his knees with an expression that clearly reads go on. “I know I’m not, like, a tiny delicate bird,” you laugh, aiming for flippancy.
No one laughs with you.
“But I don’t need any of you to respond to that,” you hurry to say. “I know it’s a weird subject, and there’s, like, no right way, really, to…to respond.” You trail off dumbly, wishing desperately that you’d never broached the subject in the first place.
After a moment of silence, you chance a glance up, but one look at Sirius’ visage, bordering on outraged, has your gaze defaulting back to your lap. “Sorry,” you say in a small voice. “Can we forget about it?”
“That’s alright, love.” Remus' voice is dulcet, so low you would never normally have heard him if the other two boys weren’t so uncharacteristically silent. “Listen, we don’t have to talk about anything you don’t want to, but can I just say something?”
You look up to nod at him, finding his countenance equal parts troubled and patient. His mouth is pursed like he’s worried that if he’s not careful, the wrong words will come flying out. At your nod of assent, he speaks, clearly and firmly.
“I don’t want you to look like a bird.”
You almost laugh again, it’s such an absurd declaration, but Remus’ expression is serious. “You know what I mean, though,” you say, lifting a shoulder like this conversation is nothing to you. “I know what guys want. I’m not that.”
“Bullshit,” Sirius says, and Remus’ lips twitch upward at your boyfriend’s brash tongue. “You’re just gonna lump us in with all guys? Do all girls want the exact same thing too?” You go to protest, but he talks over you, fuming. “Golden boys, tall with blond hair, blue eyes, and an eight-pack of abs, right? Is that what you wish we looked like?”
“Of course not.” You’re tripping over yourself in your denial. “I wouldn’t—I don’t want you to look any other way.”
“But you can see his point, can’t you?” Remus asks gently. “If we each only liked what we’re told is most attractive, a face full of scars probably wouldn’t be on the top of that list.” You must look as devastated as you feel, because Remus’ lips pull up in a reassuring half-smile, the long scar across his cheek flashing silver with the movement. “Does that matter to you?”
Your voice is quiet; chastened, but ardent. “No. Not at all.”
“So perhaps you can imagine,” James says, raising his eyebrows at you teasingly, “how if you can look at us and find things to love, we can do the same with you.” You gnaw on your lip, and his brows come slowly back down.
“Don’t,” Sirius says sternly. “Stop thinking whatever you’re thinking. You’re gorgeous, and we like you like this.” His eyes bore into yours, insistent. “You can’t make our decisions for us about which parts of you we’re allowed to like, understand?”
James nods, extending his hands to you. “Would you come sit with me, angel? Only if you want to, of course,” he adds at your hesitance, “but please don’t refrain because you’re worried about anything to do with me.”
You give him an assessing look. “Alright,” you say, perching on his lap. “Just tell me if you want me to get off.”
“Will do, darling.” James grips the fat of your hips, hauling you onto him so that your feet leave the floor and your full weight is on him. “Not much danger of that, though.”
“Honestly,” Remus hums, pulling your legs across his lap so that you’re sitting sideways on James, “the day one of us says we want you to look more like a bird, run, sweetheart. Someone’s using polyjuice or something.”

Theater Camp
james potter x fem!reader
Synopsis: james convinces you to go to theater camp with him. you secretly love it and you guys become close. it’s the final show of the summer and you’re putting on Moulin Rouge.
Genre: fluff
Authors Note: this came to me in a dream, also this will be on my AO3 if you prefer that
Warnings: spoilers for Moulin Rouge the musical
“SATINE??” you yell.
“Yes! I got Christian! Who’d you get y/n” James calls out happily.
“I got Satine. I didn’t even audition for her, I auditioned for Nini”, you reply.
“Well maybe you blew them away enough to get you a lead role.”
James was born to be a leading man. But you? You were terrified. This was the first time you’ve been casted in a lead role, and with a show as complex as this one. But you put the feelings behind you when you think about the idea that someone thought you were good enough to be a lead.
The weeks go by as you rehearse like crazy.
James is a natural. Christian is a perfect role for him. He’s off book by week 2, while you’re still struggling. He encourages you every day and never gives up.
You’ve been friends with James for years now so he knows exactly how to help you. But you’ve always been just that—friends. And that’s how you’d like to keep it. You didn’t want to mess up your friendship with The Marauders, even though Sirius and Remus were already dating. But they have been for years. This was different.
You see James’ talents really shine through this role. Like it was written for him. You kind of forget that you’re Y/N and James, and instead you’re Satine and Christian. Rehearsing Come What May made you legitimately cry. And you couldn’t help but laugh at James’ corny dance during Elephant Love Medley—which he did over and over to get it right.
But you pushed your feelings away and focused on being the best Satine you could be, and you were feeling quite happy with your performance. But the show was coming up quick and your nerves couldn’t help but rear their ugly heads.
Half hour to places and you’re panicking.
“I don’t know my lines!! I can’t remember anything!!” you yell out, “I can’t do this, I’m gonna freeze.”
Your friends are trying to calm you down while simultaneously getting ready.
“Where’s James?” one of them calls out, “he’s the only thing that’ll get her to relax. We all know you love him.”
The girls start laughing while you blush.
“What? No I don’t! We’re friends, have been for years. That’s it.”
They continue to laugh and you feel yourself get even more red. You start backing up towards the door to get some air.
“And even if I was in love with James—which I’m not—it wouldn’t matter anyway cause he doesn’t fancy me like that.”
The girls quiet their laughter into giggles as a voice speaks up behind you.
“Oi, y/n, you’re not?”
Shit. It was James. You try to act cool but you very clearly aren’t. You’re half dressed to go on, flushed red, and sweating from panic. But James. He looks perfect. That cheeky smile of his you can’t help but love covered his face as he leaned on the doorframe.
“You have a crush on me, y/n?” he smiles so brightly, “or was it…in love with me?”
He’s so cocky.
You cover your eyes with your hands as your face flushes scarlet. He grabs your wrists lightly.
“Don’t do that, you’ll mess up your makeup. We’re still going on.”
You get shoved back into reality when James says that. Suddenly you remember why you were panicking in the first place.
“James”, you say seriously, “I don’t know my lines.”
“Yes you do.” He replies, matter-of-factly.
“No I don’t. It’s gone. I can’t remember a thing.”
He leans down and kisses your forehead lightly.
“Baby you’re a firework.” He says softly.
He leaves you to finish getting ready and you feel different. Now instead of panicking about your lines, which you still aren’t convinced you know yet, you’re panicking about possibly dating your best friend.
Suddenly it’s showtime. You hear the beginning notes and you know it’s now or never. You get situated in your satin swing and wait for your time to sparkle.
You don’t understand how, but as soon as the lights hit you, you transform. You know every word, every beat, every step exactly how it’s performed. You transform into Satine. Then you look at James. He ogling at you, as his character is supposed to do, but you can’t help but think maybe he’s being for real.
The show goes on without a hitch. You and James feel so natural on the stage. You’re being playful and coy. Teasing and flirting as the characters do. The crowd is loving it. You find it extremely easy to pretend to fall in love with him.
By the time you die in his arms, you’re exhausted. And you can feel James’ tears fall onto your cheeks. He’s really selling it.
You finish the show and do your bows. After running off the stage you and James meet face to face. In a rush of adrenaline he grabs your face and kisses you. Not how he did in the show. But instead with so much passion and trust. He kissed you like he really meant it. And you kissed him back, melting into his lips.
You break apart and look at each other. Sweaty, tired, and out of breath. He smiles sweetly.
“Wait till we tell everyone back home.”

Hi!!! I’ve literally been so obsessed with your poly!marauders fics recently and was wondering if you could do one where the reader is having really bad baby fever because of a dream where she had a 4 year old daughter named Eliane with the boys? She’s usually not a huge fan of kids but she definitely would love at least two of her own (that way they won’t be lonely like she was as a child obvi). Could you also incorporate her being curvy in some way? It always makes me happy when I see curvy representation ❤️❤️❤️
Hi sweetie! This isn't exactly like you said but I hope it's okay! Also it's not super overtly curvy!reader, but it's there if you squint. fem!reader x poly!marauders
cw: mentions of children/pregnancy, slight mention of unideal childhood
600 words
You had been lovelorn all day. Currently, you were looking all gooey-eyed at a mother who was hunched over her baby’s stroller, babbling and cooing at the child. You caught yourself, though. Snapping out of your daydream and shaking your head, returning your attention to your boyfriends. Sirius and James were running around with a rugby ball. Every time they tackled each other they kissed in a way that was far too passionate for the public. Remus sat on the bench next to you, nose deep in his latest read.
They had suggested a day at the park, likely in response to the spacey state you had been all day. James always followed the logic that fresh air cured everything, but right now it was just making things worse. Your sight lingered back to the mother, who was now bouncing her baby on her knee. You wondered what it would be like, to take your baby to the park, love on them in all the ways you weren’t, feed and put them to bed, it filled your heart with yearning. You were in no place to have a kid whatsoever, but that didn’t mean you weren’t excited. Especially being surrounded by so much love every day, it only made you want to spread it.
“Hey, babe! You okay?” Sirius looked at you, inspecting your face. His mouth was quirked up in a half-smile.
“Oh, yeah! Yeah, I’m good.” You tore your gaze from the stroller, realizing that James and Sirius were now in front of you, chugging water bottles.
“What’s so interesting?” James looked all around, scanning the park for what had caught your eye. Remus set his hand on your thigh, massaging the full flesh there.
“Are you okay, love? You’ve been far away all day.” Remus asked gently. All three of the boys' attention was on you, making your face hot. “Are you tired? You sleep okay?”
“Yeah, I’m good. I slept fine.” You smiled. “Do you think you would want kids one day?” You blurted out, looking nervously between the boys. “I mean obviously not right now, or any time soon. I just, had a dream last night that got me thinking about it.”
“Aw,” Sirius melted. “You got baby fever, sweet girl?” Remus slipped an arm around your shoulders.
“Kinda,” You said shyly. “Again, I wouldn’t want one now, it’s just,” You took a deep breath. “I just know that if I did have kids, you all would be amazing parents.”
James pouted, his eyes welling up. “You would be a wonderful mum, honey. And I won’t speak for those two, but I would love to have kids. I want multiple, I’ve thought loads about it.” He admitted. You beamed at him.
“Oh, you saps.” Sirius stood on his tip-toes to kiss James on the cheek. He then hauled you up, taking your spot to tug you onto his lap.
“Siri!” He held tight around your middle. “I’m gonna crush you, let me up!” You groaned.
“Good,” He nuzzled into your neck. “I love you, darling. I want kids with you all. You’re the best things that have ever happened to me, I wanna make sure our kids feel that love.” You thought you could cry. You all looked to Remus, awaiting his reaction.
“I would love to do that with you all. You would be great parents, I can’t think of anyone else I would want to raise children with.” You all were a big pile of mush.
“Right,” James started hauling you all up. “I’m gettin’ you three home, gotta love on you all before I explode.”
