- We’re doing the best we can. All of the samples keep turning to literal sludge before we can map enough of the chemical structure. We need more time.
- You have to do better. This is the longest the anomaly has remained in one place. We only have so much time before—

00:00 — 1 JANUARY
James waited until he’d fallen into his childhood home, half-plastered and sad and staring himself in the eyes through his bathroom mirror. His gaze seemed colder, lonelier than usual, and when he splashed his face with cool water it chilled him to the bone.
He’d never been unsettled by solitude, never minded much retreating to an empty bed at the end of a long day. Until then.
That’s when he knew he had to go back.
+
“Pardon me.”
The voice from behind you was so sudden and deep that you jumped, whipping around clumsily to meet it.
“God, you startled me!”
Laying eyes on the man responsible, you instantly released any ill-will you had.
“Hi, sorry,” he said, and you were already quite smitten.
He was young, though surely not any younger than you. Handsome too, in a dismantling way, like he might take you apart if you were an old clock, just to see what made you tick.
And if he wasn’t young and handsome, he’d still gain a little credit just in looking so guilty for spooking you.
“Hi.”
This was January, and you were out on the veranda, so your breath escaped you visibly. You were aware of it trickling upward as the handsome man smiled shyly and introduced himself.
“I’m James.”
Leaning up against a white banister, you snuggled further into your shawl, watching him. He was a few steps above you, and taller by a lot anyways, so it posed a bit of a strain.
“Y/N. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Lovely name,” James commented, not missing a beat. It surprised you, but you rallied easily.
“And yours.” You sipped your drink, and when he hadn’t formed a response, decided to elaborate. “Classic.”
James ducked his head in a dashing sort of way, adding a little humility to the lethal mix of attractive traits he contained.
“Yeah, but don’t let it take any precedence. It's strangeness across the board for the rest of me.”
Your lips curled up at the corners.
“For some reason I think that’s true,” you teased, eyes shining with mirth.
There were lots of ways to be flirted with, several of which left a bad taste in your mouth and a loneliness that felt unquenchable in your chest, but this you liked.
James spoke like he was on his toes, constantly steeped in anticipation. If possible, he seemed to savor every moment while simultaneously rushing into better, deeper territory.
He came further down the steps then, and you appreciated the relief on your neck. The smell that drifted off of him was like honey and biscuits, perpetually warm on your senses, even in late winter.
“So how do you know Marlene,” James asked, and you felt the tightness of excitement in your chest realizing that he was going to stay and talk to you.
“Work,” you told him, “she’s a madwoman. Flirts with all the customers.”
James kept a polite distance from you, gravitating toward a patch of light from the windows. He wore a tailored suit that was primarily night blue, which somehow fit him with both strict lines and a charming rumpled messiness.
You wondered if he’d get any easier to look at.
“That sounds like Marly,” James agreed, looking fond. A tiny needle of jealousy pricked you, which was ridiculous, because if this were Marlene’s boyfriend she’d have been shouting it from the rooftops.
Clinging to that affirmation, you asked, “you two are familiar?”
Each of James’ hands held the opposite bicep in a half-hearted cross, aiding a small shrug.
“We went to school together.”
You nodded, growing envious for new reasons.
“That seems to be the theme around here. I’m sad I missed it.”
James smiled warmly, pushing his glasses up his nose. “Would it make you feel better if I told you it was boarding school? We had to share dorms all year.”
Fiddling with a ring on your finger, your gaze skipped to the square orange portal that led to the party inside. The window was one on the back wall of the parlor, and it became devastatingly easy to pick out the school club from the others inside. Marlene lounged beside other sharp girls and well-dressed guys, all of them laughing and bickering like siblings. You craved to be at the heart of it more than anything.
“Co-Ed?” you asked abruptly, tearing away from the vibrant crowd to see James’ face contort.
“No,” he laughed. “I roomed with Sirius, Remus and Frank.”
Your jaw dropped.
“Four to a room?”
James’ laugh thickened, his spectacles glinting white as his head tossed back. His amusement was acerbic, corrupting your bewilderment until it was lost to a goofy smile.
“I do feel much better, thank you,” you said. “Private school sounds awful.”
“Well, don’t rub it in, now,” he chided lightly.
An army of wind marched around the corner of the estate then, fighting through your thin shawl. James’ eyes traced your shivering frame as he stepped ever closer.
“Erm, hey, I was wondering—”
The patio door opened, delicate glass inlaid with iron, and yet your moment with James seemed the thing to shatter. A fair-skinned man stepped out, a hunt in his eyes, and you hoped whatever it was for wasn’t James.
Nyx-dark hair moved like shadows over the night sky, reflecting the party inside glossily. His head turned, and then he was laying eyes on your companion.
“James!” The man said, his poised effect splitting down the middle, revealing a collie’s energy. He motioned for James to meet him up on the landing. “C’mon mate, Remus has a plan.”
James shook his head simply.
“Do it without me, yeah?”
Something territorial swept over James’ friend’s face, and he suddenly looked you over. You were embarrassed to only warrant a millisecond of his attention.
“Bollucks,” he declared, challenging James to disagree. “Let’s go.”
Then he returned swiftly inside, leaving both French doors and your chest swung open. James sighed, the weight of a lost battle on his shoulders, and found your eyes again.
“Sorry, that’s Sirius,” he explained, and you supposed that would make sense.
“The roommate,” you provided. James nodded.
“I swear he’s nicer.”
You wouldn’t say you found him rude, just unfriendly. He certainly seemed warm, as did everyone at the party, but to a select few people. A select few that didn’t include you.
You said, “I’m sure.” If James thought someone was nice, they probably were. He seemed a good judge of character. Unless you had very poorly judged his character, which you wouldn’t put past yourself.
James winced. “I have to go. But, um—”
“James, mate, come on,” Sirius called from inside, and then he and another, taller man poked their heads out to check his progress in detaching himself from you.
“Alright, one second!”
You’re not sure why you said it, perhaps the people pleaser overriding your system, but you said, “it’s alright, James. You can go.”
It didn’t make him look any less torn. His head whipped back and forth between you and his friends, trying to find a solution.
Of course you wanted him to stay, but you didn’t want to hold him hostage, so you tried your best to look supportive of whatever he chose.
In the end, he stepped close to you, brows pinched with regret.
“I won’t be long. Will you—would you stay?”
You pressed your lips together in a tight smile, choking back the clawing barrage of disappointment.
“‘Course,” you said.
James blew out a breath, relaxing his tense posture.
“I really swear it. Back before you can say ‘private school,’ yeah?”
You laughed weakly, taking a long look at him for memory.
“Yeah.”
Reluctantly, James backed away from you, then turned to climb the steps toward his friends. They were sagged with impatience, hanging onto his every step the same way you were, except for different reasons. In a way, you were more jealous of these two than you were of Marlene, because they were like James’ brothers. They knew him better than probably anyone, you guessed.
James hopped up onto the landing and glanced back to you, frowning slightly. The light from inside caught his lenses just so, hiding his eyes from you, and that small detail alone felt like the end of all things.
Then, Sirius and his accomplice took each of James’ arms and hauled him inside, shutting the doors behind them.
Shivering again, you watched the three of them appear in the window, heads bowed together in conspiracy. James looked different there, like something out of a movie. He snapped right into place with the rest of them, glittering and masterfully made.
It was clear he had a world of his own—one that you would likely never penetrate, no matter how badly you wanted for it, no matter how long you waited in the cold.
Marlene would forgive you for running off, but you’d never forgive yourself if you got sick for a silly dream, so you left the party and made peace with the what-if that was James.
+
James fell headfirst out of the cramped coat closet, cursing as his legs tangoed and lost to a tall pair of rain boots. In his fall, he took down with him three raincoats and a hanging organizer (six hats, a bucket of gloves, and five and half pairs of sandals).
He was already tired and fuming when he entered the closet, and now he felt he’d completely lose it any second. Disengaging from his fight with evil clothing, he scooched on his bum to the scrunched up hall runner that paved the Mckinnon’s entry.
Near the end of it someone cleared their throat, and James looked up to see Fabian and Gideon Prewett, the nosiest blokes in the world. Fantastic.
“Look who we have here,” said one twin, the other smiling wickedly, ready to pick up the second half of their routine snooping.
“Off for a snog-sesh with someone, are we, James?”
Battling to his feet, James let out a long-suffering sigh, already moving their way.
“Yeah, your mum,” he snarked.
As they both laughed, James prepared to push between them, but they parted before he had to. He walked through their flank, relieved yet nervous—the typical reaction those two elicited.
Leaving them behind, the narrow hall forked off into several different rooms, offices and kitchens and a library. James played here even before he was in school with Marlene, so he knew every corner like it was his own home. He headed for the parlor.
Even for someone who had never been in the house, finding James’ destination would be easy. All they had to do was follow the music.
In the parlor, chaise lounges were hardly visible under old school friends and their families, the walls lined with business partners and gossiping aunts. Smaller children ran amok, like birds weaving between a forest of mingling adults. The hearthfire hissed and spat, bound to take down at least one fashionably dressed lady before the year was over.
James swept his gaze over the bobbing heads and flying hands, looking for someone in particular. Sirius’ thick black hair beat like a raven's wing near the back of the room, so that’s where the bespectacled boy went.
On his path, Remus stood glued to a wall, looking very antisocial. He pinged from one crutch to another, taking up new residence at James’ side.
“Where’d you run off to?”
“Had to take a piss,” James said casually. He’d grown accustomed to small lies like that, since no one knew about his little habit.
Remus didn’t question it, just picked through the crowd to where Sirius was.
“Padfoot,” James called, and he didn’t have to say anything else. Sirius excused himself and met the two of them without question, a silent understanding that forged the undercurrent of their friendship.
James led them all into another hall, one closer to the crystalline patio doors.
“I heard,” James started, “that Marlene has a pot stash somewhere ‘round here.”
Sirius and Remus glanced at each other, and James knew he had them. Even if they came up dry, the two of them would snoop just to snoop, and Remus obviously wanted away from the party anyways.
“Whereabouts do you think it is,” Sirius asked, looking at a mounted painting like it might be involved.
“Dunno,” James said, “but if we split up I bet we’d find it before the new year.”
Sirius grinned, and it spread onto Remus’ lips.
“I can take downstairs, and you and Pads can go up,” Remus said.
James shook his head.
“No, you two can go.” The two of them gave James skeptical looks, but he shrugged. “I have heavy footsteps, they’d hear me up there.”
Sirius’ expression cleared, and then he was nodding along. “Right.” He took Remus’ arm in his grasp and pulled him along. “Let’s go, Moony. I bet we can find some before Prongs.”
James heard Remus object that, “it’s only in one place,” before their conversation was lost by distance. Then, he turned around and pushed through the back doors, praying you were where he left you.
You were. Just like last time, your back was turned to him. You were staring at the clear sky, gripping your wrap close to your chest. James remembered that he’d startled you before, so he latched the doors as noisily as possible. You still didn’t come around.
He supposed that was for the best, actually, since he’d changed something already. He crept down the steps, feeling terrible for sneaking up on you, and wondering what you might’ve been thinking about that kept you so distracted.
“Pardon me,” James begged, and you spun around in shock.
“God, you startled me!”
James smiled, and your eyes trailed all over him. He couldn’t say he minded, since he was doing the same.
You reminded him of a mouse—shy but necessarily bold, holding yourself up outstandingly well as a stranger in a roomful of friends. That was, until you dipped outside and didn’t return.
“Sorry, hi,” he apologized, really meaning it this time. As expected, you smiled shyly, golden champagne tilting in the glass you held.
“Hi.”
A swath of mist escaped your mouth with the exhaled greeting. James had to remind himself that you didn’t remember the first time this happened, so you wouldn’t know his name.
“I’m James.”
You leant back, neck craning to keep his eyes. James stepped down to accommodate you, and your brows smoothed.
“Y/N. It’s nice to meet you.”
“That’s a pretty name,” James said, getting bolder. It was hard to hold himself away from you.
You dropped your head then, smiling primly at the stone steps.
“Thank you,” you said, instead of complimenting James in return.
James blinked. What happened?
“Yours—”
“I’m—”
James paused as you both spoke at the same time, looking at you the way someone might look at a tricky puzzle.
“Sorr—”
“You can—oh.”
Fingers pressed to your mouth, you looked at James, a tentative smile in your eyes. James sighed, and then laughed strangely. He motioned for you to go ahead, only to find your hand unfolding into the same gesture. Both of you stared at each other for a beat before falling into a fit of giggles.
“You go,” James said finally, smiling. You just shook your head.
“I don’t even remember.”
James squinted at your rosy cheeks, his lips picking up at the corners. You could lead a horse to water, he supposed.
The temptation to learn more about you began to win him over, so he bent a few rules.
“So you work with Marlene, I hear,” he spoke, fibbing ever so slightly.
You smiled a bit, none the wiser. “I do, yeah.”
James looked inside, checking for dark hair or an itchy sweater, but Remus and Sirius were still missing. Good.
“What’s that like?”
Brows furrowing, you followed his gaze.
“It’s…interesting. She’s really nice, but she—”
“Flirts with all the customers?” James supplied, peeking at you out of the corner of his eye.
You stared at him for a tick. “Yeah. You must know her?”
“Childhood friends,” James decided, nodding. When he turned back to you, you were raking your eyes over his dressy outfit, lip caught between your teeth. Your eyes found his, and you looked away. James thought he saw a flush to your cheeks.
The wind whipped around the corner then, and James began shouldering his thick jacket off, finally doing what he’d wanted to do before.
“You must be crazy,” he said, coming closer. “It’s freezing out here.”
You braved a look at him, and alarm sunk into your features.
“No, James, you don’t have to do that. I’m fine.”
“Don’t be polite, lovely, you’re shivering. Here.”
James slowly held his coat over your shoulders, leaning back to watch you carefully. He saw the moment you accepted his offer, sinking back into the warmth the garment still held.
“Thank you,” you breathed as James pulled away. He shoved his cold hands into his pockets, now looking to conserve heat.
“‘Course.”
Though his hands weren’t on you anymore, James stayed just as close as he was moments ago. He could smell the champagne in your glass. He glanced around to the garden, to your feet on the step, just below his.
“D’you want to head inside?” he asked. “It’s almost midnight, I think.”
Your lips turned up, and James hoped to God he’d get to kiss them.
“That sounds lovely.”
+
James flipped his phone open, the small screen giving off just enough light in his dark room to make him squint. He was wondering what you’d put for your contact—a smiley face, maybe, or a heart? He hoped you put a heart. It took his brain far too long to catch up to reality.
With a shock of gut-twisting dread, James realized he’d been so wound up over kissing you that he forgot to ask for your phone number. Your phone number.
He groaned, glancing at his bed longingly, but he knew he wouldn’t fall into it very soon. He’d go back a hundred times before he slept that night if it got him one date with you.

Danny and Damian twins au where Danny died and became a halfa on a mission to kill Vlad Masters. He succeeded but the portal blew up with him inside it due to some of the machines in the lab being damaged in the fight that happened not too long ago.
Danyal gets stuck in the Infinite Realms with amnesia and wanders around helping people and learning things about this new world like a video game protagonist.
Damian thinks he'll never get to see his baby brother again and blames himself since it was his job as the older brother to protect him. Damian life continues as normal and he eventually meets Jon otherwise known as superboy.
Jon reminded him so much of his late brother. It hurt. Damian found himself testing the boy just to make sure this wasn't a cruel trick or some sort by throwing things at him that Danyal definitely would have dodged or asking "innocent" questions. Even after he was satisfied that Jon wasn't a clone or anything he found himself more or less trying to turn Jon into Danyal. He offered him Daniel's favorite snacks and to play his favorite things and even got confused for a second when Jon didn't immediately know what he was talking about when Damian mentioned the constellations above Damians childhood home.
It wasn't even like Jon physically resembled Danyal either. Sure they both had black hair and blue eyes-as compared to Damians green- but it was thier personalities that confused him and threatened to drag him into the deep sea of grief he had kept bottled up in his heart all these years.
He needed to get away from Jon.
His heart wouldn't let him.
It was in Damians 14th year of life that his brothers and sister died. Unable to cope with this he brings them to the Lazarus pit where Jason attempted to stop him from reviving the rest of thier siblings in fear they would turn out like him.
Somehow the both of them got thrown/ fell into the pit with the bodies and something unexpected happened. Sure, thier siblings were revived and screaming but they were now on a floating island in a wierd green dimention that looked suspiciously like Lazarus water.

DP × DC but it's a tired and burnt out Danny that makes landfall in Gotham, in this AU Danny is a halfa but it is his sister that plays the role he does in Canon and he only got his powers via ectoplasm contamination. He got burnt out acting as his sisters occasionally sidekick and her alibi in regards to their parents, so after he finally graduated from Casper High he opted to find himself while Jazz joined the Justice League.
So here we have a severely overtired and burnt out Daniel Fenton working at a local Lexbucks Coffee Shop when out of the blue he gets involved in the usual Gotham drama that results in a drive-by shooting wherein Danny gets shot. Danny, being a Halfa, gets up despite having been visibly shot in locations that would be fatal to anyone else but for him it's nothing and he goes back to work.
So begins the interest in Gotham's newest criptid; The Undead Barrista.
👀👀👀
(Lmk if you'd like to read this on my A03, and/or a version from his coworkers POV!) Ok so I did a fic!
Length: short boi. Save about 10-15 minutes.
Summary: see ask above. PLUS Danny sasses Gotham's Rogues Gallery into submission and finds out he really wasn't as useless as he felt.
Danny was second; he was the second child. The second smartest child. The second best as dealing with people. The second one to DIE and get superpowers.
At first, it was exciting! Phantom and Wraith, superhero duo of Amity Park! But Jazz- or Wraith, when she was in ghost form- had the ability to make people feel safe. To calm down situations before they ever started.
Danny had the ability to tear enemies to shreds, destroy infrastructure, and scare people.
Even Sam and Tucker agreed, although not in so many words. They didn't need to; after Dan, after they knew what he'd probably become, things really changed. He was watched, less to make sure he was safe, and more to make sure he didn't become Dan.
When he started sympathizing with that Fruitloop, Vlad, he knew something had to change.
So he flew up, up, into Earth's orbit, so he could look at the planet below. He didn't know how long he stayed there, but when he saw the sun set over the Himalayas, he felt something in him... settle, somehow. And he came to the realization he needed to leave.
It wasn't their fault- his sister, Sam, Tucker. He was the worse liar, so their parents suspected him of everything. He dealt with ghosts better than people, so Wraith was more trusted. As they aged, and Wraith looked the same but older and Phantom started looking like Dan- well. It wasn't the people of Amity Park's fault, either. Besieged by monsters, who would want to rely on one?
He got his things and left. He left a note saying he needed a fresh start, and then took off. He didn't leave the name of the city he was moving to. He didn't know.
That was how he became a barista at a Lexbucks in Gotham with a tiny loft apartment. And for the first time since he was 15, he was happy. Really, truly happy. He made friends in an astronomy club, and got together every other Friday withe people to watch old movies.
He was about to start a management program at Lexbucks. He would be 'needed' by Clockwork every Monday for an unknown amount of time (it was hard to tell time when CW paised as needed. Sometimes Monday lasted weeks, if he thought it was warranted.)
Clockwork being Clockwork, that sometimes meant he needed to solve some ghost issue, or fix a paradox, or come over for dinner, or take a vacation. (Was there a portal in his closet? Yes. Yes there was.)
He saw Frostbite once a week too, Gotham being closer to the Far Frozen, and was learning Greek- both ancient and modern- from Pandora.
He was finally going to ask out Eduardo from the bookstore across the street today.
That meant, of course, he was shot right outside his apartment. Danny left for work around 3 AM; his apartment was pretty close to the edge of Crime Alley, he was the store opener and they started serving customers at 4 AM. A match made in hell.
He heard the gunshots before he felt them, and reflexively turned invisible to change into Phantom. The drive by shooting ended as quickly as it began, leaving Danny to curse and change his shirt. Dammit.
Ah well. Gotta love Tuesdays, right?
Next Tuesday was when Condiment Man walked into the Lexbucks. Probably to try and rob it, but it was difficult to understand over all the giggling from his regulars.
"Bring Gotham to-"
"Sir, this is a Lexbucks. Please just order your coffee, tea, other drink, or something to eat."
Condiment Man gaped for a moment. "I- I don't want coffee. I want villainy."
He nodded. "Fair. But this is a Lexbucks. No villainy, just coffee, tea, sodas, food. No evil available except the evil inherent in corporations."
"I. Um. Ok?"
After a moment, Danny cleared his throat. "So about your order?"
"Um. Well. Can I order you to join me in my quest to bring Gotham to its knees?" He asked nervously.
"Kinky." He said, and Condiment Man sputtered. "But no." His calm demeanor changed in the blink of an eye. "Get your hand off the trigger for that mustard right now, or you'll be cleaning every inch of this place with a toothbrush until it sparkles!"
Condiment Man yelped and left. The locals- regulars and newbies- started laughing. He was pretty sure somebody started crying. His tips were glorious.
Maybe Tuesdays weren't so bad after all.
XxXxXx
"I got a hit on Danny!"
Jazz spun around. "Really? You're sure, Tuck?"
"About 50%, the video is pretty grainy. But you tell me somebody else who deescalates villains with sass."
"Where?"
"That's the problem. They were using a VPN. It's somewhere in the US, probably Gotham, Metropolis, or League City- Gotham Rogues get around sometimes."
Jazz's face started to fall. "Tucker, thank you, but- it's been 5 years. Are we sure his face didn't totally change? I mean, remember Vlad's before and after?"
He sighed heavily. "Jazz, we failed him. I failed my best friend. I missed that he was hurting for 3 years before he ran. No matter what that note said, I was probably part of the problem. Give up on him of you want. But I'm gonna keep looking."
God, those notes had been like kicks in the teeth. If it was Vlad, he'd say it was orchestrated. But it was Danny. He very much did not blame them. He didn't want to go. And what was carefully not said, but pieced together when they compared the note left for him, Sam, Jazz, and the elder Fentons was they were the biggest reason he left.
XxXxXx
"I, the Baffler, will bring chaos and confusion to Gotham's streets with your assistance, Undead Coffee Person!"
That was, oddly enough, better than Inviso-Bill. Still. "Hey man, this is a Lexbucks. And I have a name."
He seemed delighted. "Wonderful! What is your villain name?"
"No, no, no villain name. I'm not a villain. Just a barista. My name's Jack. What's your order?"
The baffler seemed. Well. Baffled. "But aren't you going to join me in my life of crime?"
Danny sighed heavily. "Dude. I just wanna pay my bills. Coffee, tea, what do you want?"
"You can pay your bills with crime!"
The Baffler seemed so honestly pleased it was hard to get angry. Just a big guy in a dumb costume, and Ancients he missed his dad. But then he shot the cash register. "See? Crime!"
Danny snarled and, quick as a blink, The Baffler's hamds were frozen to the counter. "You have ice powers?!"
"And you have dumbass powers, you knockoff Riddler. I'm calling the cops."
XxXxXx
"You must be truly desperate to come to me for help," Vlad said with amusement plain on his face.
Sam narrowed her eyes, and Tucker scowled. "Yeah, well, we need untraceable cash, and you're the kind of guy to keep that on hand."
"And why do you need it?"
Sam grit her teeth, but replied, "let's just say if we find what we're looking for, the number of halfas might be back up to 4."
His eyes flashed brightly. "Well, then. How much do you need?"
XxXxXx
"Together, we will bring Gotham into the next ice age!" Mr. Freeze roared.
Danny narrowed his eyes. "Doctor, this is a Lexbucks. What do you want to order?"
"You, too have powers of ice! Together, we can bring Gotham into the cold!"
He sighed. "Ok. So frozen. Small, medium, or large?"
"I- I am ordering destruction, not coffee!"
Danny pointed to the menu. "Do you see destruction on the menu here? No. No, you don't. Your order?"
He gaped. "Chai latte? Mocha cappuccino? You seem like a smoothie kind of guy, want one of those?"
Mr. Freeze cleared his throat. "What kind of smoothies do you have?"
XxXxXx
"Are you seriously going behind my back with Plasmius?"
Wraith stood, arms crossed with a scowl. "Oh back off, you're nowhere near as scary as Phantom. Or even Skulker." He snapped.
Batman cleared his throat. "I'm told you have information about an incredibly dangerous illegal meta in Gotham?"
Sam shook her head. "I wish I could say I couldn't believe this. He's your brother."
Jazz swallowed. "You don't even know for sure if this is Phantom. This could be a legitimate threat."
"Every time I start to wonder why he left, all I have to do is remind myself about-"
"Sam."
"He's our best friend, Tucker! And she just might've gotten him thrown into Arkham, because Batman doesn't believe in rehabilitation!"
And another argument began.
XxXxXx
"I'm so sorry, Jack. I really like you, I do! It's just..." Eduardo trailed off, shaking underneath Danny's jacket.
"It's ok. You didn't sign up for getting kidnapped by the Penguin in a sick job offer."
He smiled a little shakily, and Danny hugged him tightly. "I'll see you around, ok?"
"Thanks, Jack."
Why the hell was he so broken up over a guy who didn't even know his real name?
XxXxXx
Thursday began at the sight of the Joker prowling around. Danny let his jaws drop and released a hiss that made fully grown ghosts back the hell up, following it by the unearthly rattle he learned from Fright Knight.
The Joker backed up. Swallowed. Put on his trademark grin, and stepped back in. Albeit a little further from the front counter. "Now, now, kid, I'm a clown! Kids love clowns, yeah?"
Another hellish hiss echoed from behind the Joker. He paled, then stiffened as a massive blue hand was on his shoulder. "Perhaps this isn't the best place for you."
The Joker laughed shakily. "Hey, pal, I'm-"
Plasmius' glowing eyes flashed, and the Joker's started glowing red. The clown's face fell slack. "This isn't the best place for you."
"This...isn't the...best...place....for me." The Joker slurred.
"Leave." Commanded the vampire ghost.
The Joker staggered out drunkenly. Plasmius turned his attention to the counter. "Can I get a large black coffee? With a shot of espresso, please."
Danny cocked his head and tried not to laugh at Kristen's face when the fruitloop sat next to her. "Sure. Kristen?"
She looked at him, wide-eyed. "He's not going to hurt or overshadow you. Right, Plasmius?"
"Of course," he agreed magnanimously.
Plasmius drank his coffee at the store. He bought a blueberry donut. Gave him a $500 tip. "The number hasn't changed. Call me, and we'll see about moving you before Batman and his friends crash the place."
"I can fly, you know."
"He has multiple jets. And besides, from what I've heard, Wraith is helping him track down the big, scary meta."
"Thanks for the warning, Plasmius. I'll think about it."
The elder halfa nodded and left, phasing through the door.
Jazz was hunting him. Jazz was hunting him. His sister was- it wasn't fair. He left her the entire territory of Amity Park. She had the undivided love and attention of everyone in Amity Park. Inside the roll of $100 bills was a business card.
He pocketed it, and yet another super came in. Plasmius was right. They were hunting him. Red Robin frowned at the menu.
"Hey, do you still have the mint hot chocolate?"
"Yeah," he said quietly. "Small, medium, or large?"
"Large, please." Red Robin waited in silence while his drink was prepared. "So, Jack Walker isn't your real name."
Danny shook his head. "Nah. If you're going to arrest me, might as well just call me Danny."
He observed him carefully, then nodded. "I'll see you around, Jack. Try to keep out of trouble."
XxXxXx
"He isn't a threat!" Tim snapped.
"You deliberately disobeyed me! We agreed not to approach the person who can use mind control!"
"You agreed, B. Wraith, just leave him alone, ok? He just wants to make his coffee and leave every day."
"Is he my brother or not?"
"Does it matter? He left." Tim snapped. "That guy is just trying to make a living. He's not going to hurt anyone who doesn't start trouble."
Jazz embraced both Sam and Tucker, feeling real, true hope for the first time in years. "It's Danny! Guys it's Danny, we can bring him home!"
"None of you are leaving until we can bring him in for questioning."
Jazz's face hardened, then she agreed. That was alright. She had a secret weapon. Two of them, actually.
XxXxXx
"Jack, you've got people asking for you."
Danny groaned.
"Sorry Jack, you're the one who made the rule about people in weird suits with guns."
"Yeah, fair. Thanks."
He stepped out behind the counter, and froze. "Danny?"
He swallowed. Blinked to make sure he was seeing what he thought. "Mom? Dad?"
For the first time in 5 years, he was embraced by his parents. He didn't feel bad about the tears. He couldn't. "Let's go home, baby. Let's go home."
"I can't. I- I'm not..."
"It's ok, Danny. We know now. About Phantom."
"I'm so sorry we made you feel your only recourse was running away."
XxXxXx
He had started to get the idea Jazz might be hunting him in a violent way. The only violent thing was the force of her hug, and the way her nails dug into his shoulder to keep him close.
Danny couldn't quite understand her over the blubbering, but that was fine; he had always been a sympathetic crier. Although the way all of the bats, Constantine, and Superman were shifting awkwardly, trying not to watch them while watching them, was pretty funny. It got worse when Sam kicked Batman in the knee and joined them. Then there was Tucker, and his mom, and- his dad was squeezing them tight enough to pick them up a few inches.
It took a ridiculous amount of time to get them all to stop crying- and Danny included himself. He had a good 5 years of believing he did nothing but harm to his human(ish) family to cry over.
"So just to be clear. You are not a villain."
"Yep. Used to be in the hero game, even."
"And you're not going to start being a villain."
He chuckled. "No, I won't."
"For now, your stay in Gotham is fine, though you should start using your legal name. If you don't like Danny Fenton, you can always legally change it. Can we call on you if we get a ghostly threat closer to home?"
"Absolutely."
"Wait! Danny, you're going home, though, right? With us?" Jazz asked hopefully.
"I'd like to visit," he said quietly, "but Jazz- I scare humans. Pretty badly."
"The ghosts negotiate with you, they listen to you! And people- look, now that Phantom's not there stopping fights by talking to ghosts before they start, or helping the new dead solve their murders- well. Phantom has been missed."
"Jazz, you do all that too. And you calm humans down way better than I ever have, so-"
"Danny," Tucker interrupted, "please, buddy. You don't have to stay, just come for a week. Things are different now. Promise."
And. Well. Even if they were wrong, he missed them. So much. "I can do a week."

Actually I’m curious with the Mama!Harley au how would she react to vol9 jaune?
"Hattah, Imma give ya one chance!"
"Tsk, tsk, Miss Quinn!" Said the strange man in a green hat.
Jervis Tetch, or The Mad Hatter for you few Gothamites reading, wagged his finger at Harley. Same gag as he always pulls; kidnap innocent girl, roleplay his obsession with her, snaps because she isn't a fan like him, then kills her to find the his next 'Alice'. Harley managed to get the girl out, but Tetch had to be taken care of. When she chased him, his trap caught her. Hey, we all have our off days.
"You should know better than to chase the White Rabbit, don't you?"
"I wasn't chasin' a rabbit." Harley snapped. "Only thing I'm chasin' is a creep who got way too into his story books."
"How rude!" Hatter balked. "Clearly, a readjustment must be made, post-haste! Wouldn't you agree, my March Hare?"
The poor goon behind him simply drooled and nodded behind in his brown rabbit mask. Hatter turned to him and snapped his fingers but was only met with the same drooling face as before. From his pocket, he produced a small sitch. With a point and click, he electrocuted the henchman who was gratefully too numb to scream as he was shocked to death.
"Now, what will you be?" Jervis took a mask from a box at random. He clapped his hands with glee at the face that stared back at him. In his hand, he held a mask shaped like a cat. "Oh, my dearest Cheshire! It's been too long!"
"Keep the hell away from me, you creep!" Harley thrashed against her restraints.
"Oh, Harley, I wish you could see things my way." He shook his head. "If you only could see things as I do..." His voice became faded and distant. "Through... the... look... ing... glaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..."
---------------------------------------------------
"Ugh, what the hell?" Harley looked around and found herself in a strange location, even by Hatter's standards. Was she about to meet the Walrus and the Carpenter, because that was the only place she could think of that had a beach like this. Still, the colors were way off. "Okay, just gotta find a way out."
As Harley walked, she noticed the scenery was wildly different. Floral gardens had been replaced with lush jungles. She saw a tribe of mice work together to water a bush of thorned vines. As she passed through the village, she noticed all of the characters were pieces from different board games.
"Jaune used tah love board games." She sighed. It felt like forever since she last saw her baby boy.
One day, all of a sudden with no warning, the transdimensional gate between Remnant and Gotham broke and couldn't connect. It was like the gate on the other side was broken somehow, both at Beacon AND in Atlas! Without another portal, mother and son couldn't reunite, no matter how much she wanted to.
Until then, she had to wai-
"M-Mom?"
Harley froze. The voice was different, but she'd recognize it anywhere, anyway, anyhow. It's a real power. Just ask your mother. Jaune could.
"Jaune?" Harley turned and tears flowed on sight. Her son, her baby boy, her little cupcake. He was right in front of her.
But he was so old. His hair, once bright like spun gold had now dulled and filled with white streaks. He'd grown an inch or two, too, and was wearing armor so covered in rust, she felt like she need a tetanus shot just looking at it. And she would after she was done crushing Jaune in her hug.
"M-Ma!" Jaune whined. "You're crushin' me!"
"I don't care!" She laughed and sobbed. "You're my baby boy, and I'm nevah letting you go!"
"What are you doing here?" Jaune asked as he hugged her. "How are you here?"
"It's a long story, sweetie, but I can tell you later." She pulled away. "Right now, I need to find a creep in a green hat. If I don't find him, I'll... I'll..."
"Mom?" Jaune asked.
Harley was conflicted. On the one hand, Gotham needed her to come back. Hatter was still loose, which meant a lot of innocent people were in danger. Batman could handle it, but he wouldn't be around forever.
But neither would Jaune. After so long, she finally meets him again and it's in a fantasy world. She would never get this chance again would she?
"Jaune, I... I don't know what to do." Harley shook her head. "I need to go back, but I... I'm not sure if I can leave this time. Not when I have you in my arms."
"I know, Mom, but... you'll have to let me go some day, right?"
"If I had it my way, you'd be my baby forevah."
"I always will be, Mom."
Harley was crying with a smile. This would be the most painful she'd done since she gave birth and brought him into her world. Not a close second, but a second regardless. She stepped away.
"Jaune, I'll nevah fuhgive you fuh breaking yuh mothah's heart..."
---------------------------------------------------
"...but I'll always... love... you?" Harley looked around and saw the Dark Knight standing over a beaten Jervis. Panic filled her mind as she found the cat mask in pieces against the wall. "NOOOOO!"
---------------------------------------------------
Jaune stood there. He stayed where he was, unmoving as the world continued to move silently around him. Some who passed stared as they went about their lives. Children. Parents. Sons. Mothers.
Harley's last words to him rang on a loop in his mind.
'Jaune, I'll never forgive you for breaking your mother's heart.'

A DP x DC crossover. A what if went through my head. What if somebody from the DCU gets incomplete information about a Halfa, wants one, can’t reach them because they’re too far away in a different universe?
And decides- then we’ll make one (with the incomplete information they have) and control them! Because they come to the conclusion that halfas are pretty powerful. (Spoilers: They are in this AU!)
So the prompt:
Somebody from DC researching different universes finds out about halfas - specifically the most recent entity (Danny, not that they now that) - ghost portals, the Infinite Realms, while lacking crucial details. What they pick up leads them to the belief that they could turn a human into a monster capable of adapting their strength and powers to anything.
So they kidnap Batman - as one epitome of what an average human without modifications., enhancements, metagene, etc. can achieve - and somehow brute reverse-engineer the transformation via ectoplasm. (Not Lazarus Waters.)
'Somehow' means that they don't replicate the exact details of Danny's accident. It’s simply impossible because they're in a different universe with different rules and there's various differences between Bruce and Danny.
He 'survives' as a halfa, because he clings to his love for his family and friends. He doesn't want to leave them hurt again, his children orphaned (once more) and his father lost of his son. That lets the universe-boundary-shattering metamorphosis take hold. His body is torn apart and put back together, ectoplasm infusing him.
It also fries his memories (temporarily). He only remembers that he has to 'protect' someone, with his focus being on the outcast and children. It’s not an obsession, more like the only lead he has in his worries. (There are no ghost obsessions in this AU.) He flees, frenzied in pain and lack of memories, and believing for the short-term future that he's dead so he's stuck in ghost form.
Not that anybody has these details at first because their experiment goes horribly wrong for these people as well as Bruce. Their memories get fried as well that they don't even remember their research on different universes or that they had Batman kidnapped. Any records were destroyed. The portal blew up.
Unfortunately it’s enough for those who paid for them to keep looking for Bruce.
It leaves Bruce's loved ones believe that these people might've killed him. There's simply too much of his blood on the scene and everything points to human experimentation.
Bruce drifts in the physical world and feels drawn to Gotham, where he becomes a helpful, protective cryptid.
Danny, in the ghostzone, feels a full-body shiver. He’s no Ghost King, will never be, but somehow he senses that something has happened.
Clockwork’s senses have alerted him to this and he’s grim.
Remember - halfas are powerful in the AU. Bruce has no idea what happened to him and is in a bad mental state from his half-death on top of his already existing trauma. He fears that his family is dead but doesn’t know and the uncertainty makes things worse for his mind.
Nobody has idea what he’ll be able to do because the way he became a halfa, his mental state, his experiences, his age, all differs from Danny.
I promise for this would be a happy ending, if bittersweet. Bruce died - he was changed in a way that can't be undone. Not to mention the side-effects as well as adapting to that he's a new species. His loved ones at least thought for a few weeks that he was completely gone.

So since the Bros can't go back to Brooklyn in your AU, that would mean back home they would be considered an unsolved missing persons case....
I feel bad for the client to see them last probably grilled about their whereabouts.
Their family never knowing where they went.
Just for some added angst, what if a missing persons flyer that their mother made somehow drifted through the pipe and made it to the MK and someone finds it to bring it to Mario and Luigi.
They would recognise the contact phone as their moms.
I must say I hadn't considered the whole "missing person" aspect from other people's perspective! That's kind of sad, actually. 😔 Those clients and acquaintaces would all be left wondering, with varying degrees of concern and wistful intrigue, what exactly happened to the Super Mario bros. Where they went all of a sudden, and whether they're alright or not. I like to think that people continued speaking of them fondly long after they were gone, and that they somehow became a local urban legend after that. ✨️🌅
I also mentioned in a previous post how they would have a little bit of time to go back very briefly and say goodbye to Pauline, their closest (and arguably only) friend from Brooklyn before the portal disappeared again, but I wasn't sure whether to include an immediate family for them in my AU or not. To be honest, I kinda like the idea of Mario and Luigi having been alone for most of their lives, either from losing their parents at a young age or just recently so. Having no one in the world but each other, so to speak. 💞
But a flyer with their picture on it somehow drifting into in the Mushroom Kingdom is a very interesting and bittersweet idea! I really like that too. 🥺💫

☆ ROTTMNT AU MASTERPOST ☆
☆ TMNT Blog: @eughboi ☆ ok to reblog ☆
✭ Dimension Hopper Leo AU: Leo managed to escape the Prison Dimension, but now he is in an alternative universe almost same as his. He has to go through many portals, trying to find his way back to his dimension.
[leo-centric] [MASTERPOST]
✭ Where You Belong: Mikey is the only turtle growing up with Splinter. When he becomes 13, he accidentally learns he actually had brothers. He and April try to connect to them once they find them with none other than the people trying to kill him for some reason.
[mostly mikey-centric, but POV changes often] [cw: abusive/manipulative parent]
✭ Let's Grab a Slice Together: Leo, Mikey, April, and Casey Jr end up time traveling all together. They are too late to find the key though, and now have to help their past selves to get it back and stop the Krang.
[cw: war themes, even if not detailed it is the bad future so beware; character death; temporary character death (?); injuries] [multiple povs, focused on the bad future fam]
✭ Last Hamatos Standing: Mikey is the only one escaping from the technodrome. Krang Prime has caught Leo and Donnie, and got Raph back in control. Now he and his family have to figure out to save the brothers and stop the Krang.
[cw: mind control, torture, hallucinations, manipulation, war themes, grief, body horror, loss of limbs (?)] [mostly mikey-centric]
✭ The Furthest Shores: After escaping from Draxum's lab, Splinter doesn't return to New York City, instead he hides in the Hidden City. He ends up in the Pirate Bazaar and meets with Piel. Seeing that Splints is just a poor guy with four babies he decides to give him a chance, inviting him to join his crew. Eventually the family grow up as pirates...
✭ We Ride at (Alien)Spawn: Apocalyptic AU except it somehow takes the turn of the cowboy concept- the boys become sheriff somehow (nobody questions mutants after being saved, especially since not many people are left). Join the new cowboys who ride Krang Hounds and a Krangfied train as they try to survive against Krang.
✭ Believe Me (I'm Warning You): Things turned out differently with the last fight against the Shredder. The Hamatos and Cassandra Jones never became friends. However, in the future a boy named Casey Jones Jr. is tasked to stop the Krang by Leonardo Hamato. How can he convince them, when no one believes him?
[casey jr-centric]
✭ Are We Pokémon, Dad? : Everything is same, except they are in the pokemon world... and maybe because they are in the pokemon world, everything is not the same...
✭ A Turtle Like You: A Separated AU inspired by the classic Barbie movies, that was a joke. Now it is about how the twins change roles for fun but things go bad, and how Mikey wishes to be freed from Draxum's lab, and how Raph and April accidentally discover the Hidden City and three turtle mutants.
[cw: manipulative/abusive parent] [mostly disaster twins-centric, but other have major focus too]
✭ Too Little Too Late: Donnie years ago watched his own Leo sacrifice himself and get trapped in Prison Dimension. For years he searched a way to bring him back. Now as he continues his studies, he is also making sure no other Leo suffers the same fate by traveling to any timeline that may need him.
[cw: hallucinations] [disaster twins-centric]
✭ Hopelessly Surviving: They saved Leo, but it was too late. As the family was still not accepting what happened, hours later Draxum shows up, and somehow he has the help they need. Now Leo is back to life, but something is different. Something is wrong and Leo has to figure out what is true and what is not to win this battle (with the help of his family).
[cw: temporary character death, hallucinations] [leo-centric]
✭ Future Genius vs. the Past: Donnie manages to go back to the past from his future accidentally. He can save it all by changing the events that lead to the apocalypse, but what about his family in the future?
[donnie-centric]
✭ Literally Purple Dragons: Aside from his twin being the most annoying brother ever as usual, the day was going well for Donnie. Until he found Kendra right out of the manhole as a mutant komodo dragon, asking for help from him.
[donnie-centric]
✭ Stuck: Mikey and Draxum practice mystic powers to get stronger against the Krang. Something goes wrong, and Mikey is now stuck in a timeloop and has no idea how to escape.
[cw: time loops, but in the worst way ever; depression (?)] [mikey-centric]
✭ [to be named]: Draxum succeeds. He raises the four brothers as warriors and Lou Jitsu is kept as a prisoner until he decides to join him (he believes one day the man will see the right path). Things go much differently than what the yokai expected. After all, Lou wouldn't let anyone suffer like that- not even turtle mutants.
✭ The Mummy inspired Kendratello (crack) AU: What the title says. Nothing serious, I just think it would be silly thinking them in situations like in the movie.

Another lil Wandering Spirit AU fic!
This time Akari gets her reunion. Sorta. It’s over the phone.
This is MUCH sillier and light-hearted than the last one lol. Dad Ingo propaganda.
AO3 link
Uncle Inghost
The moment Dawn stepped through the portal leading to her proper time and space, she hit the ground running.
There was so much to do. She’d been gone for over a year, after all. The champion of a region has responsibilities, and a sudden absence can cause a number of problems. Luckily it seemed that Cynthia had taken care of things while Dawn was gone. The previous champion was absolutely ecstatic to hear from her, of course, but Dawn could tell that Cynthia was also relieved to have her help with the league once again.
There were reports, paperwork, and recorded interviews she was required to do. She also had to tell the league where she was, which was a nightmare and a half to explain. Damn time travel. As a result of that, Interpol got involved, which caused another wave of paperwork and interrogations. Apparently people being tossed all over time and space wasn’t as uncommon as Dawn previously thought.
After two straight days of work, Dawn was finally able to start relaxing for the first time in over a year.
And by relaxing, she meant researching the past she’d just left.
She just had to know what happened after she left. It was with a heavy heart that Dawn had left Hisui behind. She didn’t miss the dangerous land, of course. It was the people who inhabited it that she would mourn. Rei, Laventon, Cyllene, Irida, Adaman, even Melli. She missed them all dearly.
There was one that she would miss the most, however.
Warden Ingo was the strangest person she’d met in Hisui, but considering she herself came from the future, that was a good thing. He didn’t treat her with distrust, nor did he bat an eye at her mannerisms that others in that time period found odd. He took her under his wing, so to speak, and Dawn wasn’t sure if she’d have survived her adventure in the past without him. He became the father she never had. He was her rock amidst the storm that was her time in Hisui.
He was obviously from the future as well, though he couldn’t remember it. Dawn just knew that he was as lost as she was, which was why she had practically begged him to come with her to the future.
He refused.
She understood why, of course.
Appearing in a dangerous world with no memories aside from his own name must’ve been terrifying. He had to fight his way into being accepted by the clans, and even then his life was one of solitude. Dawn could tell that he’d been terribly lonely…
Ingo was scared to go through that again. He had no idea what was waiting for him on the other side. What if his mind was wiped clean again? What if it was somehow worse than Hisui?
Dawn hadn’t pressured him too much after he had a panic attack just thinking about starting over again.
He encouraged her to go on without him. He told her that if he remembered his ‘original station’, he would find his way back himself, but she should return home and see her mother again.
She just wished he were with her now…
Especially after learning about his fate.
The moment Dawn had time to herself, she’d looked up ancient Sinnoh history. She just had to know what happened to her pseudo father. Did he get his memories back? Did he eventually return to the future?
The truth hit her like a speeding bullet train, as her dad would say.
Warden Ingo had gotten sick and died not long after the rift crisis was solved, said the impersonal historical website.
He was gone. Died not long after she left.
She should have insisted he come with her to the future. She should have waited for him to feel comfortable enough to come with her. Dawn was so excited to return home that she left someone she considered family behind to die. How selfish of her. How cruel of Arceus.
If she’d just tried harder, Ingo would still be alive and living happily with his brother.
That was another punch to the gut: finally learning about Ingo’s past. He had a brother, an uncle and cousin, and plenty of friends from all across Unova. He was an accomplished battle frontier boss, and if his social media was any indication, he adored his job and the people of his region adored him right back.
Ingo had a life here in the future, and Dawn doomed him to never return to it.
It was with some surprise that Dawn learned Ingo was still around in this time. Time travel was confusing at best, but it made some sense that Ingo could have been pulled into Hisui from a different point than she had been.
She wondered if the news of his eventual disappearance would reach the Sinnoh media. She knew that her own most certainly reached international coverage, and her reappearance likely would as well once the news outlets ran the story. A frontier boss wasn't as publicized as a regional champion, but it seemed that Ingo and Emmet had a sizable following from all over the world. They were quite popular figureheads.
When the news of Ingo’s departure reached Sinnoh, Dawn wondered how would she handle it, knowing that he would never return…
Dawn lay awake at night wondering these things.
Maybe she could prevent Ingo’s ‘derailment’ somehow? Maybe she could go to Unova and warn him. Warn him about what, she didn’t know. She had no idea how he even got pulled into the past in the first place. How could she prevent something she knew nothing about?
It was completely out of her control whether or not Ingo disappeared, she realized with a horrible pain in her heart.
Her dad was going to die in the past, alone and abandoned, and she didn’t even know when it would happen.
Dawn turned onto her side and curled up around her pillow. She bit her lip and tried not to cry again. There was nothing she could do to change the future or past. She just had to live with the fact that she left her family behind to die.
Just as she was losing the battle against her tears, Dawn’s phone lit up and rang upon her nightstand.
She quickly grabbed and silenced it before the sound could wake her mother. It was the middle of the night, after all. Dawn squinted at the number flashing on her screen, confused. She didn’t recognize it, and it had an unfamiliar area code as well. Maybe the paparazzi had somehow gotten ahold of her number and wanted more interviews despite her story having already aired earlier today on a trustworthy news network.
Dawn noisily sniffed and wiped away the evidence of her near crying session and answered the call. Best to nip these in the bud right away.
Dawn opened her mouth to tear into the person on the other end, but was quickly cut off but a very loud, very familiar voice.
“ MY DEAREST AKARI, HELLO! ”
Dawn’s heart stuttered in her chest.
“...Ingo?”
“CORRECT! It is wonderful to hear your voice again, my dear girl!”
Holy shit. Was she dreaming? No, definitely not with how her ears were still stinging from the incredibly loud greeting. That voice, the volume, the use of her middle name, there was no way it could be anyone else on the other side line. This was her Ingo.
“Akari? Akari, are you alright?”
Ah, she’d been silent for a while. Before she could force her frozen vocal cords to cooperate, she heard another, much quieter voice over the phone.
“ I believe it’s verrry late at night in Sinnoh right now, brother. Give her a minute to wake up. ”
There was a pause, and Akari had the forethought to put some distance between the phone and her ear.
“I AM SO TERRIBLY SORRY, AKARI,” Ingo shouted, and Dawn was sure that if her mother didn't wake up when her phone rang, she surely was now. “PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF I WOKE YOU! I CAN CALL AGAIN TOMORROW-“
“NO!” It was Dawn’s turn to shout.
That seemed to break her trance, and suddenly the tears she’d been holding back earlier began coursing down her face for an entirely different reason. A joyous, relieved sob tore from her throat as the floodgates opened.
“Akari? Akari?! Sweetheart, what’s the matter?! Emmet, she’s crying, what do I do?!”
“ I am Emmet, and she’s not my mysterious daughter from the past! I have no idea what to do if you don’t. ”
“You’re the one who is better with lost and upset children, Emmet!”
“ Only because my face doesn’t scare them like yours does. ”
Hearing the two bickering over the phone made giggles bubble up between sobs. Dawn clutched her phone to her chest and made a valiant attempt to compose herself. She’d had a soul-deep yearning to talk to her dad again from the moment she learned of his fate, and here he was calling her, and she was wasting it by crying like a baby.
“Dad-“ she started, but had to clear her throat and noisily snort snot back into her nose before she could properly talk.
“Akari, please blow your nose properly-“
That brought back the giggles. She could practically hear the grimace on his face.
“ Oh dragons, you really are her dad- “
The door to Dawn’s room opened a bit, and she turned to see her mother peering at her worriedly from the crack. Dawn gave her mom a watery smile and gestured to her phone, mouthing ‘tell you later’. Johanna nodded and closed the door again, giving her some privacy.
“I’m- I’m okay, dad.” Dawn managed to choke out.
“Oh, thank goodness.” Ingo sighed, relieved. “It would be awfully difficult for me to comfort you from my current station. Speaking of! As you might have guessed, I have found my home station! All the way across the world in Unova.”
Dawn smiled giddily to herself. “I know! I looked you up as soon as I could. No wonder you could kick my ass so easily. You’re a whole battle frontier brain!”
“Language, young lady.” Ingo admonished, but she could hear the mirth in his voice. “Indeed I am. You’ll have to visit the Battle Subway and face both myself and my brother for a real challenge! Together we are a force to be reckoned with. Ah- I should probably introduce my brother! Terribly sorry-“
There was a muffled shuffling over Dawn’s phone speaker before the quieter voice from before filtered through.
“Hello! I am Emmet. It is verrry nice to meet you. I second my brother’s suggestion! You must come challenge the Subway! It’s not often that I am able to battle a champion! I will be looking forward to winning!”
Dawn giggled when she heard the telltale sounds of the phone being given back to Ingo. She’d read about Emmet’s bluntness while researching Ingo. It seemed that was one thing that rang true from her research. The thought of said research made Dawn frown.
“Dad… when I looked you up…” Her voice faltered, and she had to clear her throat of the sudden lump that formed, “it- it said that you died in Hisui. How… how are you here? Before me? Did Arceus bring you back after…” she couldn’t finish that sentence, but it seemed that Ingo knew what she meant anyway.
“Oh, dear… I was hoping to explain everything before you learned of that unfortunate detail…” His usually loud and boisterous voice was subdued, “I’m afraid that it’s true, my dear girl. I met my end in Hisui. But do not fret! As you can obviously hear, that wasn’t the end of my line! I was merely… derailed for a time. It would be much easier to explain in person, however. Is there any way for us to meet up soon? We could come to Sinnoh-“
“No!” Dawn interrupted. “No, I’ll come to you! I have to challenge your Subway, after all!” And she could use a break from all the scrutiny here in Sinnoh, she didn’t say.
Ingo laughed. Loud and booming. It made something in Dawn’s chest melt. She’d missed her dad terribly…
“I look forward to it, sweetheart.”
Dawn had missed the sweet nicknames, too.
It took some convincing before Johanna reluctantly allowed Dawn to travel to Unova. Cynthia helped pay for the ticket, as she’d seen how the media circus of her return had worn her ragged. Visiting her dad and uncle(?) would hopefully be just what she needed to become reacquainted with the modern world.
She was in for quite the surprise when she got there, however.
At least now she had a nickname of her own to give Ingo.
Bonus:
The moment the breaking news flashed on screen, Ingo was on his feet and practically pressing his face against the tv, much to Emmet’s confusion. They’d just sat down to watch a little tv in the break room before their next shift.
“Ingo, wha-“
“ IT'S AKARI!!! ”
Ingo’s voice was extra loud and excited, and Emmet spotted a few depot agents curiously peek into the break room.
“Who’s-“
“THAT’S AKARI, MY LITTLE LADY!”
Ingo peeled his face off the screen to instead point at the image of an unfamiliar teenager as a news anchor spoke something about a champion. Emmet had no idea who this girl was, but obviously his brother was verrry happy to see her.
“Your… little lady?”
Ingo nodded enthusiastically. “Correct! My daughter must’ve returned! I have to contact her post haste!”
Emmet’s brain blue-screened once those words registered.
“Wh- wait. DAUGHTER?!” Emmet shrieked, leaping to his feet to scurry after his twin, who was striding away and fiddling with his phone.
“Ingo, get back here! You can’t just say you have a daughter and run off! How do you have a daughter?! Did you get BUSY while you were gone?! CAN GHOSTS EVEN HAVE KIDS?? INGO, WAIT !”

Entire Lore of my AU
Huge post about my emerald au lore, a fantasy in a parallel universe.
So in the first part is when jack was about to become king it start a very difficult time with lots of attacks, he didn't even had a ceremony.
The only contact they had without knowing eachother was through Sam, Sam would get stuff from Anti and give to Seán, trying to connect them somehow,Seán didn't know from who that dog was.
Anti did get overlooked by people because of what he could represent, it passed the thought of killing him but since he was harmless that idea was "discarded"(👈remember that) but people always keep a look on him, Anti manage to be trained but it got more work and more repression than the others the guy who was training him, hated him he accused him of ruining his carrier and how people will look weird at him too, so he took advantage of that. And that person was the captain at the moment. Anti have never talked to the Seán, Always got interrupted by something.
The war is going bad, (the enemies want to conquer the place, so Jack needs a bit more of help from another kingdom, the kingdom where Chase rules with Stacie, but to get to get them to help, he needs to lighten a portal to get more close to them since it's a emergency so then happens to him get a few knights to help him but they got attacked too only Anti is left and they both needed to hide, Anti (didn't stop using his helmet and never talked), since they have to wait there and there's not much for them to do, unless wait for an answer. (I'm not sure what could possibly happen but) Anti in one moment got his helmet taken and well 💥revelation. Seán did got scared of him at first. But still wanted to give a chance, And then they both got a chance to talk about everything, and Sam was there too c:
in the end basically him and anti they both manage to switch places (yay twin power) as part of the plan to win, This part ends with a few idk months later when people were fixing everything that got destroyed, it happened the coronation, and Anti also became the new commander since the other one died. In the party everything is going well but Anti got out very early to his room, what he didn't expected at all was to Seán go after him to give a gift and they become frens =]

So things go well, they hang out, do their jobs and stuff, things still a bit messy in the place but overall great :]
But their trust start cracking y'know 👀 since Seán gave him the care that he wanted, it would hurt Anti really bad if the person that he cares so much at first thought about ending him because of fear 👀 Yeah that's right! Seán almost got him dead. A time before the whole war when he still a prince he got the chance to decide if Anti would be killed or not. Before the guy who was the commander died he told Anti that Seán almost got him killed, ages ago, but Anti didn't care he thought it was a lie.
Seán started to hide or ignore him as much as he could because he was trying to make a surprise. Sadly even Anti forgot it was his own birthday.
And when they have the big argue in Anti's birthday, Anti starts to question him about the paper. Seán tells him that yes he thought about it but didn't commit and he changed, that he was young and scared he could hear people making theories about what could happen and even pressuring him to do something, even saying that anti would take his place, but Anti is too angry and sad about that. they both take a break, Anti leaves for a while to cool his head and even cry. Happy birthday Anti.🎉🍰
It continues with, someone trying to remember Anti and trying to convince him to get more angry and frustrated, Even Anti still really pissed at what happened he still wouldn't hurt Seán, but he got unconscious by something and woke up getting injected with a substance that is called "joy" [Is derived from a experiment with a yellow chrysanthemum and now they glow, they also are eateble, light source. But injecting on someone can both be good and bad, it gives more reflexes, strength, but messes with your brain causes: headaches, emotional sensibility, dizzyness.
When distressed the eyes glow, also it's an epic iris experiement because why not] That's how Anti got the scar in his right eye and he is eyes are olive green because they mixed with blue the original eye color with the yellow of the substance.
and waking up back at the place he was, not remembering anything, thinking he was maybe just stressed out about that and moving on, still upset about what happened before.
The 31 of October, it was also blood moon, was a a party for the kingdom, and everyone was celebrating, but Anti had been gone since his birthday. And you know how it ends. Seán gets into a dark place in the castle ( when it's actually a trick) thinking Anti came back (he was super worried, Anti left for days but he also didn't wanted to bother him) He founds Anti but well Anti gets so overwhelmed that him by accident kills jack with his knife, he then sees whats really happening and he sees what he done he screams and cries for what he did, but it's too late.
(The people who armed this they saw the opportunity, since Anti always looked like jack they thought about driving anti into participating into that plan, he had nothing to lose just pretend to be him, people came to him congratulating him for what he did and how the throne is free now, he could join them or if he didn't they would get him to be killed too since they all saw what happened, he then chooses to run, he knew a secret place to hide. And that ends the 2 part.
The epilogue is now Anti run away from the kingdom and is now infected with the joy, and is filled with guilty. He lost his friends [,jj(in which he also is in the plan) and chase] and is now a criminal. Chase got the news of what happened and it's just devastated about that, he can't believe Anti did that, Anti was even training his daughter, Chase is now the king since he is Seán's younger brother, and makes the rule that if someone see Anti again, bring him there, and end him for good. Jackie becomes the new commander, and now lurkes for Anti, Sam disappeared in the forest and found Seán still shocked about everything he saw and heard but he can't do anything, he wanted to talk to Anti, he wanted to talk to chase, but he can just watch now or leave forever (i thought it would be nice to include that you can come as a ghost if you had unfinished business or it was a very shocking moment), Sam now comforts him, and walks around with him, Sam is scared of Anti.

I think we as a society don't have enough crossover aus that's just jrwi plus whatever fucking smp Charlie's on. And I'm not talking just riptide (though I LOVE riptide crossover stuff but imagine the chaos of all of the campaigns in one spot) (no I haven't watched fated yes I still need to listen to mythborne but shhhh.)
Anyways specifically I'm thinking about how fucking hilarious it'd be to have convergence + qsmp. Like guys their whole thing is collecting golden eggs to travel dimensions. Also imagine Alastyr losing his fucking mind upon seeing all the gizmos and contraptions. Imagine if the golden eggs all became sentient lil guys. Fucking imagine how funny all the magic stuff would be. Also I imagine Kroe somehow being the main egg dad cause iirc he was the one mostly in charge of the golden eggs.
Also imagine Kasper trying to show off his magic and his magic going wild and then y'know. Wheel Time™ and everyone is immediately on edge cause wtf was that. Also I could totally see Flynn and Alastyr trying to look into the census bureau stuff.
Also strangle shittily builds a house. Also also Kroe ending up in Cucurucho's white room somehow and immediately has immense war flashbacks to the hospital™ cause y'know :) he's the only one who remembers. Also none of these guys would trust Wilbur he reminds them too much of Spidebur and fuck that guy.
Also it'd be funny if qCharlie knew them. Like moreso then he'd know shit with the riptide pirates in that crossover cause this guy was the dm for it. He made that shit. (I think maybe if it was exile era he'd try to take one of the golden eggs to try and use them to leave)
Also I feel like a lot of people would be sus of them <3 because where the fuck did they come from(strange portal) and why do they have like 3 eggs and why are all of them golden.

Disability AU :) This one's about Four. AO3 Link
...
"All right," Time said as soon as the portal had finished dropping them somewhere. "Where are we now?"
Four didn't know. It was dark, and chilly, and the ground under him was hard. He'd been leaning against a log next to the campfire, and now both the log and the campfire were gone. Poof. He sighed.
"Hold on," Wild said. A spot of light illuminated his face as he pulled his slate out. "Light, light…"
From a little too far away for comfort, Hyrule's voice echoed back to them. "It's a cave. I think the way out is this way, maybe an hour?"
"Hold on, Hyrule!" Legend called to him. "None of us can see."
"Oh no! How awful! I take it back, we're never getting out of here!" Hyrule said back. Four snorted at the sass.
Wild made a noise, and he stuck his bottom lip out. "I can't believe I don't have any torches. Well… actually, I can. They're a bit useless."
"A lot of your weapons glow, though, don't they?" Twilight asked him from somewhere nearby. "Just use some of those."
As they argued and passed around fire rods and fire swords, Four reached out carefully to feel the cave around him. He'd landed away from any big rocks, and just sat on a smooth-ish part of floor. On the positive side, nothing stabbing him.
The group's immediate surroundings lit up bit by bit with multicolored light. Wild didn't have torches, but Legend was able to use one of the flaming spears to light a few from his own bag. It became comfortable to see again once he had some of those lit.
The cave they had arrived in was rather large, with only one exit, which Hyrule had already found. The others were standing up from roughly where they'd been sitting when the portal hit. Four squinted into the darkness, seeing a glint of metal that could be his wheelchair. It was farther away than he'd expected it to be.
Ugh.
Warriors handed his torch off to Sky. Sky kept the light close by so everyone could see what Warriors was saying.
'Is anyone hurt?'
"I fell, but I'm not hurt," Wind said. He pulled the hem of his orange pants up a bit to tighten the laces holding his leg on.
"Same here." Four spoke up. "Well, I mean, I was already sitting, so I didn't really fall…"
Twilight waved his torch. "Your chair ended up way over here, somehow. Want it?"
Four considered the floor. His wheels would not like that very much, even with the magic to help. The magic was better for mud and ice than for stone, unfortunately. "Actually, if you'd just bring me my bag, I'd be fine. Wild, do you think you could put the chair in the slate?"
"Uh…" Wild blinked at him. "I mean, yes, I've put furniture in it before, but don't you need that?"
Twilight handed Four his pack, and he dug inside.
"I have crutches. Two pairs, actually." He pulled one of the pairs out of the magical space in his bag, then put his bag back on.
Wind got closer with a torch in his own hand. "Hey, I used some like that."
"I'm not surprised. They're nicer on your shoulders than the under-arm ones." Four propped one crutch on each side of his legs, grabbed the handles, then pulled himself up and got balanced.
The others watched with varying degrees of concern, though nobody spoke out. After a few weeks together, they'd all learned a bit about who actually needed help and when. Four would ask if he needed help, thank you very much. He did not ask, so nobody offered.
"Ta da," Four said when he'd gotten situated.
A dim flash of blue light heralded the disappearance of his wheelchair, and he fixed Wild with a dangerous look.
"I'm trusting you with that."
Wild held up a hand, smiling nervously under the weight of Four's glare. His smile tilted to his right. "I'd never betray that trust. Amnesiac's honor."
"Let's get going, then, if everyone's ready," Time said, glancing around at the rest of the group. There were nods all around. "I'd like to set up camp outside, and sooner rather than later. Hyrule, you said you knew the way?"
"Hm?" Hyrule looked up. "Oh, well, I don't know the way, but it's pretty obvious if you listen. At least, I assume that if we go to where the wind is, we'll find outside."
Sky tore his eyes from Warriors's hands. "That's as good of a solution as any, I think."
"Yes," Wind said immediately. "Please. Let's get to open air. I hate caves."

I don't know what to call this AU, but it's like "what if ...?".
The action takes place in the universe (if I may say so), where Clouse did not take the side of Master Chen and even became a member of the Alliance of Elements. He became a full-fledged master of the dark arts, he is respected by other masters and commoners, which is what he wanted. His life seems to be going well. He did not quarrel with a friend, the force he studied for years was accepted in the alliance, many respect him, they won the war and made peace with the serpentines. The ninja squad is fighting crime and evil spirits that want to conquer Ninjago and neighboring worlds. Sometimes a ninja turns to a magician for help when it comes to all sorts of creatures (which, by the way, are like demons / creatures from Japanese mythology). Everything seems to be fine, but one day Garmadon told his friend that he had no students, no children, no successors that could continue the important occupation of the sorcerer. Clouse gave up on it because he's not up to it, and in general, if he dies, there will still be an idiot who will study dark magic and exterminate creatures. But one terrible day, as it usually happens, one red-haired little asshole will steal the crystal of the worlds and begin the troubles of the universal scale. The Alliance of Elements will instruct Clouse to find this girl and return the crystal of the worlds, because he is responsible for this. As much as he did not want to do such things as "playing catch-up for some child through the worlds," but he still had to obey the alliance this time and follow their orders. [Yes, he still dislikes the alliance and in most cases does not play by their rules to deal with the creatures. In this AU, he is also for violence, otherwise Clouse is not Clouse. ] So, the magician caught Ashley after some time, but because of the rapid and frequent movements from universe to universe, a completely different portal opened, from which a monster like the Highest got out, and she begins to devour other worlds with her big mouth. That's how she feeds. Clouse and Ashley join forces to stop this monster, and somehow blow her up in a universal loop, causing her remains to scatter to different worlds. And these remains are monsters and creatures that will already bring big problems in different worlds. As a result, Clouse will bring Ashley to court before the alliance of elements, where she will be responsible for her stupid and reckless actions that led to disastrous consequences, and then the alliance will sue Clouse for not keeping track of the magical artifact, so he will be responsible for these monsters and need to destroy them, plus, he will take Ashley to foster. It's like a harsh punishment. Clouse was beside himself with rage, especially because of the fact that this problem child was glued to him, and Ashley also made a scandal because of this. But still, this punishment could not be avoided. Ashley started living with a sorcerer and running after him in different worlds to kill those creatures. They didn't get along in the first missions, but eventually they found a compromise, and after a couple of months they became like father and daughter. In general, their hunt for evil spirits took place with adventures and Ashley learned a lot, both in magic and in life values. Well, Clouse is also happy: the collection of monsters has been replenished, he has collected artifacts, and he has received a disciple / successor in addition. But there is one downside: Ashley talks too much and asks a lot of questions.

MCD Post-apocalyptic AU Idea
Hi I'm actually posting on here lol but anyways I'm bored rn and feel like ranting about an MCD AU idea I have cuz I don't have anybody to talk about MCD stuff with 💔 Be prepared for this post to be a bit lengthy as when I have an idea I wanna talk about, I'll just keep going on and on and nothing will stop me! So feel free to skip this if you don't like reading long stuff lol. Anywho, you can read my silly little thoughts about my silly little AU under the cut!
Anyways, my AU idea I had basically takes place in a modern day MCD (no not like Mystreet just strictly having the MCD characters in a modern day era). And this world is normal at first but one day an apocalypse pretty much happened as somehow several different types of portals opened, releasing all sorts of deadly creatures that reeked havoc on the population. This apocalypse was also pretty much started by both Shad and Irene but that can be a separate post for later as I put far too much detail into that lmao. However, Irene and Shad lie to their respective followers/supporters that they had nothing to do with this tragedy and put the blame on the other for it happening.
I chose Dante to be the main character of this AU because goddammit my boy deserves more love and if no one else will do it then I sure will. Anyways, Dante was 2 years old when the apocalypse happened so the poor kid just grew up in such a harsh environment. He never knew what it was like to not have to hide from vicious creatures and constantly scavenge for food. He also never knew his dad as his father, Donny (not canon name btw just something I personally use) died early on in the apocalypse in an attempt to save his family. Meaning that Maria was left to take care of 14 year old Gene and 2 year old Dante by herself during a disastrous apocalypse. But luckily... there was someone out there that was willing to take the poor woman in and help her out.
And this where I'll get into Shad and Irene's whole deal because I mean they're pretty important here. The Divine Warriors still exist in this world and are also still kind of treated like religious figures. However, I should make it clear that all of them are actually immortal gods instead of just technically being humans that hold a relic or whatever canon stated cuz I lowkey kinda forget some of the details of that. I should also make it clear that Irene and Aphmau are NOT the same person here. I decided to make Aphmau the demigod daughter of Irene cuz I thought that would work better with the AU. Aaron is also the demigod son of Shad because of their familial relationship in canon MCD. The Ro'Meaves are still descendants of Esmund but just like in canon their familial relation is more distant compared to Aaron and Aphmau's. And as for Travis and Enki... well they're related too but I can get more into that later.
Regardless, Shad and Irene seem to be the only Divine Warriors that are still around as the others have miraculously vanished for some reason. So most people nowadays only really acknowledge and worship Shad and Irene. Because of that when the apocalypse broke out, Shad and Irene formed their own respective factions that were compromised of their devoted followers. But these two would also go out of their way to save people that hadn't joined either faction and basically encourage said people to join them. The people would do this too as they felt as though they should be grateful that one of the Divine Warriors saved their life. Shad had pretty much done this with Maria so her and her boys became part of his faction and also started to worship him.
So Dante grew up in an environment where he was taught that Shad was a great man and would be the one to save everyone from this apocalypse. He was also taught that Irene and her faction were the enemy, that Irene was the sole cause of their world being destroyed. And Dante also viewed Shad as a father figure due to the fact that his bio dad died when he was too young to even remember him. Shad even comforted Dante after Maria unfortunately died when Dante was 9. Dante had always admired Shad and that admiration only grew after Shad made Gene his right hand man and one of the generals of Shad's army. Dante truly looked up to both his big brother and his father figure. He wanted to be just as great as them.
But then the main story begins and Dante's life does a complete turnaround. In the main story, Dante is now 12 while Gene is 24 and their life is just how it was before. Nothing strange. Nothing unusual. Gene would go about his duties as general, you know like go over battle strategies with the other generals such as Aaron. And when he had the time, he would check up on his little bro who was hanging out with the other child faction members. Dante would just stay in the designated area for the children until Gene was off duty and then the two brothers would eat dinner together, possibly do something fun too before they had to go to bed. This was their normal life.
However, Shad's lair gets attacked suddenly by Irene's army and everything starts going to shit. The civilians of the faction are panicking and screaming as they thoroughly believe that Irene has come to kill them all (she isn't but they don't know that due to Shad's influence). Gene goes into a panic too as he worries about Dante's safety. So he goes to find his little brother, completely ignoring Aaron's calls for him to come back. Gene makes it to the child area and thankfully finds Dante safe and sound. He then takes Dante and tries to rush and find a way out of the lair. For awhile they aren't seen by any of Irene's soldiers but it doesn't stay that way forever. As they round a corner, they hear the voices of two unknown men which definitely puts them on edge.
Gene tells Dante to stay where he is while Gene goes to investigate what's up ahead. Dante listens to his big bro, albeit hesitantly and watches as Gene slowly makes his way toward the voices. The voices belong to none other than Garroth and Laurance who quickly notice Gene's presence. The three get into a shouting match until weapons are pulled out and a scuffle occurs. This goes on for a bit until Laurance ends up landing a lethal attack on Gene, getting him right in the heart. Gene falls to the ground and Dante, who was watching the entire time, rushes to his brother's side not even caring that he would be caught by Irene's men. Garroth and Laurance are in shock as they weren't expecting this to happen.
With tears pouring down his face, Dante tries to save his big bro by pressing down on Gene's wound. He's desperate to do anything, something as he can't lose Gene too. Gene is the only family he has left after all. But Gene knows there's nothing to be done, he knows he's going to die soon. So with shaking hands, Gene takes off the skull necklace he always wore and hands it to Dante, telling his little bro that he loves him and to be strong for him. Gene takes his last breath, Dante sobs and Laurance feels nausea because he just killed a young boy's older brother right in front of him. Unsure of what to do next, Garroth and Laurance follow Irene's orders of taking any civilians with them so they could be "much safer" at Irene's lair. So they grab Dante who kicks and screams as he doesn't want to be separated from his brother. He especially doesn't want to go with the men that killed his brother.
But being only 12 years old, Dante couldn't really fight back against Garroth and Laurance so he was ultimately taken back to Irene's lair. At the lair, Dante was incredibly stubborn and refused to talk to anyone, didn't want to eat any food that was given to him, didn't want anything to do with the people that he was taught were the enemy. Aphmau would try to get through to him but Dante just ended up yelling at Aphmau that she and her people were monsters that took everything from him. Aphmau silently walks away with Dante's words echoing in her mind. Dante didn't want to be there anymore, he just wanted to be with his brother again. He wanted his old life back. So one day he does something no one expects, he runs away from Irene's lair. The kid has no idea where he's supposed to go now but he just keeps running until he knows that he's far away from Irene's domain.
He's in an alleyway when he hears a strange noise. He turns around and sees some type of creature. A deadly one with a raging hunger in its eyes, eyes that are looking right at Dante. The boy tries slowly walking backwards but ends up tripping and falling on the ground. The creature takes this as its opportunity to strike or it would have but its head gets instantly chopped off in what feels like a split second. Once the adrenaline wore off, Dante realized that there was a man that stood in front of him, holding a large ax and breathing heavily. The man turns around, looking at Dante before walking closer to the boy and outstretching a hand for him to take. Dante did so a little hesitantly, thanked the man and asked him who he was.
The man introduces himself as Zane and begins to scold/ask Dante why the hell he was out there by himself without any sort of adult by his side. Dante hesitates for a second, tears up a little and explains that his older brother had just been killed so he was now left without any family and had no idea where to go or what to do now. Zane softens a little after hearing that and proceeds to offer Dante to come with him to his hideout with his other friends so he can at least have a proper bed to sleep on for the night. Dante at first questions if he's part of Shad or Irene's faction but Zane scoffs at that and says that he and his group aren't part of either faction. They are their own group that gets referred to as The Outcasts by Shad and Irene. Dante finds it odd as he's never heard of The Outcasts before but ultimately decides to go with Zane as he does have no idea where to go now.
When Dante gets to the hideout of The Outcasts, he meets these other friends that Zane was talking about. These people being Janus, Ivy, Lillian, Michi, Travis and Vylad. Dante isn't sure what to think of them at first, he kind of finds some of them to be scary. But soon enough, Dante would learn through them that you can't always judge someone's personality by how they look. He also learns that what he was taught may not be as true as he originally thought. Because then he finally learns how exactly the world became what it is and has to accept the fact that he was possibly lied to his entire life.
Anyways, I think I will end it there for now because I have so much I could keep going on and on about but I don't want to make this too long, you know? But because I care this AU very much I'll most definitely talk about this in the future.

Transformation au anon:
The irony of little Jazz having dressed up as a fairy and then eventually growing up and becoming a fairy is amazing. and Doyle (and other creatures) just noping out at her Dark-magic-esque brother. I love how even in the supernatural world Danny is an oddity and scary without meaning to be (and super OP regardless). You would think that once Danny discovers the world is full of supernatural creatures and half humans and everything, he would feel a little less alone and stick out less--but no, even to them he's weird.
On the stealing names thing, I'm going to assume this AU's rules of fairies is something like "she stole a fairy's name so she became a fairy herself, but her stealing humans' names doesn't mean those humans become fairies too". But honestly her being a psychologist works so well with this whole "accidentally stealing names = power/control over other people" thing, because her whole job is helping people control their own lives (and obviously she has to get to know them/their name to help them right?) and it's just so subtle that no one notices (and she still doesn't actually USE the name, but like, the fae rules still apply whenever the accidental stealing/power over someone else occurs). Doyle would probably actually be impressed about how she's doing it (like, hey maybe fae should try being psychologists if they can manage to disguise themselves as humans to do it)... if she let them in on the sessions to see how she's doing it in the first place. ("It's patient privacy Doyle!" or "No you can't sneak in even if they can't see you!" assuming fae can be invisible idk.) They just know she's slowly becoming more powerful/stealing names and they don't know how she's doing it lol.
I love Jazz developing an allergy to iron/steel though, given the whole LAB in her parent's basement. Traditionally ghosts are also weak to those things so I hc that the Fenton inventions are also made out of those materials or alloys of them. The Fenton household/weapons becoming just as dangerous to her as to Danny a lot of the time! They have to work hard to protect each other from different aspects of their parents' work.
Also, all of Danny, Tucker, and Jazz developing sharp teeth because of their respective species... fang buddies! Sam is jealous lol. Tho technically I guess she could also have sharp teeth? It's not typical of a mermaid but like... fish do have sharp tiny teeth yo.
And Jazz suddenly becoming good at music is hilarious given how badly she did during the Girl's Night Out episode, I kinda hc her as tonedeaf. Ember being like "????" during some fight with Danny when Jazz accidentally distracts her with it somehow. Maybe she was hoping she'd sing badly again and interrupt Ember's concert like last time. (Could be a potential plot of a crossover of the siblings' worlds - Jazz dealing with Ember while Danny deals with something having to do with Doyle. Oh, similarly for the whole wordplay thing--Jazz gets involved with a ghostly plot to do with Ghost Writer, or a new enemy that's a ghost lawyer!)
the picture jazz and danny have of the Halloween where they dressed as a fairy and ghost will now live in infamy as terrible foreshadowing. yes, to be clear danny's ghost costume was a blanket. their parents usually tried to dress them as ghost hunters, but jazz is nothing if not stubborn
and yeah, danny would be rare. i see necromancy and undead being a thing. vampires, zombies, and other folklores undead. but a halfa, a living creature made by having a portal to another dimension open on them. a being with both a living and dead form, a being that is both living and dead at once. wild. i imagine all the undead creatures follow certain rules and biological functions that danny just doesn't. like he doesn't follow ghosts bio rules either. at least not all of them. so how are you supposed to deal with him? and that's not to mention how he's made a career out of fighting. he's scary and i expect bordering on eldritch as far as the monsters are concerned. i'm willing to bet most don't even believe he exists.
i'm inclined to balance this out somehow though. like certain magic communities don't believe in each other or are natural enemies. that kind of thing. i wouldn't mind if sam, tucker, val, and jazz are equally spooky to each others communities. i think the fact that neither sam nor jazz were born as their respective creatures might be off putting for some. especially with how powerful they all gradually become. because lets be real, i am always down for op characters. so earning a royal title is a vibe. tucker earning a reputation for the fights he's managed to win (usually by using tech but few are aware of that), jazz having so many names and secrets that she a threat in the fairy community despite not being a born fae. and just the fact that they're a friend group. intimidating.
yes to stealing human names being different than stealing a fae's name. to a fairy their name is all that they are and will be. jazz therefore stole all that doyle is and will be. she gave them a different name so they can be someone else, and grow their power anew, but in the meantime jazz kinda straight up stole his power/identity. i think that might actually give her a reputation in the fae world as i think it'd be considered quite rare for a human to successfully steal a fairy's name. they know the rules, it's a whole societal norm not to give your name to anyone. the fact that it was a human who did it is both frightening and impressive. also probably means people speak badly of doyle for being dumb enough to get tricked. i could see fairy's being afraid of jazz stealing their names too though.
i actually like jazz owning her patiants name. that's a tricky territory because it would certainly be an abuse of power. but she's not actually trying to use the power she has over them and she's gaining so many other secrets from them anyway that even if she didn't know their name she would have power over them. i think i'm going to say it's an explicit power now. Secrets and Knowledge have power in the fae world and the more you have the more powerful you are. in that sense jazz is speedrunning becoming a powerhouse. partially because it's not normal for people to freely give people their secrets. but it's perfectly normal to give your secrets to a psychologist. so jazz is getting all this information easily. and using her powers to actually help her patients. meanwhile actual fairies have to spy and wheedle to get the kind of information she receives in one session. i imagine it's quite frustrating for other fairies, doyle in particular who's been playing witness
i see doyle gradually softening and cheering her on in their own way. like initially they hate her because she stole their name and have so much power over them. but then as she gradually establishes herself as a powerhouse and is fighting other fairies, they're cheering her on and probably starting fights on her behalf. i could see them hanging over her shoulder and shouting insults at their enemies. they might not like her that much at first but they will always side with her over anyone else. they're jazz's. no one else's.
the iron and steel allergy is a nightmare. you don't realize how much metal is around you until you have to be aware. i think to be fair. the less pure the iron is, the less it hurts. so steal and other alloys are less effective than pure iron. the difference might be something like breaking out with a rash vs actual burns. either way the siblings are covering eachother and thank god the fenton parents are oblivious as hell. they might have noticed something is going on with their kids, or at least jazz because danny's ghost stuff is actually kinda normal by this point. but as usual they're going to draw the completely wrong conclusions.
fish can have sharp teeth and i'm always partial to predatory mermaids, but at the same time it depends on diet and as a vegan same wouldn't really be needing natural fangs anyway. she can have extra teeth though, as a treat. but yes. i want them all smiling in unison at an enemy or bully and it being spooky as hell. val doesn't get pointy teeth, alas, but she has a helmet so it wouldn't really matter in battle anyway. daily life, she probably has enough going on anyway. still sad she's not included in the creepy smile thing, but also i don't think she'd mind.
also when i sad that music ability suddenly becomes relevent, i didn't mean that jazz music ability is magically enhanced in anyway. no i meant music is culturally important to fairies. the fact that she is bad at it can be an ongoing problem for her. dancing would also be a relevent skill so hopefully she could pick that up at least. but yep her being so tone deaf that it offends random fairies is fun. also means she can go to ember for music lessons. playing an instrument might also help her in place of making her sing. danny dealing with doyle in the meantime would still be fun. i can't see them getting doyle anywhere near the ghost zone where jazz's lessons are. but also doyle not wanting to be anywhere near danny to begin with. so shenanigans ensue, as i'm sure doyle tries to avoid danny and also wreck their own type of chaos amongst the humans. after all they need to regain the power that they had lost. is doyle becoming dimple from mob psycho? kinda. that wasn't intentional.
jazz meeting and manipulating the ghost writer is also just a vibe. that would be a good episode without the fairy stuff. jazz actually mastering wordplay enough to level the playing field with the ghost writer is actually fun. to the point where i could see the ghost writer developing a grudging respect (crush?) on her and trying to interact more with her than danny.
ah, the shenanigans to be had in this broader world. i could see this as a fic series where each fic is from a different characters perspective. and you'd get plenty of recognizable moments and crossover events. so like you'd be following tucker fighting monsters and gaining a reputation, and you'll see danny fighting in the background. or danny would come and help and you'll get both characters perspectives in the different fics. and then major events, like say the town getting pulled into other dimensions would effect all the stories because it's happening to all of them. sounds fun - Hestia

Sasha and Marcy
Sasha Marcy Resistance AU
Pt. 2
“Commander!” Sasha turned to see who was calling her, her eyes followed the voice to Maddie, who alongside Wally were bringing with them two prisoners, so to speak. Even though if Yunan really wanted to, she could’ve killed them all in the span of a single blink. “We found these two King-sympathisers near one of our campsites.” Maddie explained.
“For the last time; we’re not King-sympathisers!” Yunan annoyingly exclaimed.
“Silence, prisonah!” Wally shouted as he slapped a ball of mud into Yunan’s face to stop her from talking.
“I hate these people.” Yunan murmured to herself, which earned her more mud in the face.
“It’s true! We’re deserters!” Olivia remarked. She then caught Maddie’s hand full of mud with her foot while her hands were still bound in rope. “Don’t even try it.” She gave the young witch a look only a disapproving mother could. Maddie backed off.
“Ease up, frogs. They’re telling the truth. They’re my personal spies in Andrias’ organisation.” Sasha confirmed their stories. She came around and cut their bonds.
Yunan wiped the mud off of her face, “Finally.”
“We have spies?” Wally asked confused, “Did you know we had spies? In the King’s court no less. Nobody tells me anything these days.” Maddie just shrugged.
“Ex-spies, now, I’m afraid.” Olivia stated. “The King found us out.”
“I was wondering what happened after we lost communications with you guys. The lack of message bats got us worried.” Sasha remarked. “What happened?”
“Somehow King Andrias found out we had been feeding information to the Resistance, he said he had ‘eyes everywhere’. We decided to fight back. Yunan pulled some strings with her friends at The Newtopian Knight Guard. We staged a coup against The King… We lost.” Olivia’s head bowed down in shame.
Yunan clenched her fist, “That mad despot had us imprisoned and await public execution! Aargh! If I ever see him again, I’m going to turn him into sliced bread!” Yunan was a flame that never died down, always dialled up to 11. Especially when betrayed by her superiors.
“How did you two escape?” Sasha questioned.
“Prison riot.” Olivia answered.
Yunan chuckled as she slammed her fist into her palm, “Those stupid frobots left a cell door open. One thing led to another. A couple of boomshrooms. A couple of sweet moves; Bam! Wham! Heh, those tin cans never stood a chance against a real warrior.” Yunan flexed her muscles too absorbed in the moment.
“Here, here.” Grime agreed as he nodded.
“Well, I’m glad you guys are okay. We could use you here on the battlefield.” The blonde cheerleader sighed, as she massaged her temples, “Though those bot placements were useful. Now we’re totally blind. No idea how many bots are stationed where.” Sasha turned back to Grime, “Any word from Beatrix? Bufo? Aldo? Maybe at least Bog?”
“Uh, Bog’s dead. He got explodified in Andrias’ ‘demonstration’. But the other Toad Lords are in hiding, they’re very apprehensive to strike against Newtopia again so soon. Our last venture was, uhhhh, catastrophic to say the least.” Grime shrugged.
“Ugh.” Mean girl noises.
Yunan and Olivia exchanged a look. Yunan whispered, “Tell her.” Olivia sighed.
“Sasha… there is more.”
“What’s up?” Sasha asked with a quirked brow. She noticed that there was an expression of dread and sorrow on her face. Then the tears came. “What is it? What happened? You’re scaring me here, guys.” Sasha gave an awkward laugh.
“Sasha, Marcy is alive.”
The world stood still. All sound became muffled. All colour drained. Sasha both heard the words that left Olivia’s mouth, yet somehow she was incapable of processing and comprehending what she heard. It couldn’t be, could it? Sasha saw Marcy’s death with her own eyes. She replayed that moment in her head over and over again, churning over the facts, she couldn’t sleep. She saw it vividly when she closed her eyes. Anne and The Plantars rushing to the portal. Marcy tinkering with the box. Then, a flash of yellow flame, and then she muttered something under her breath Sasha was too far to hear. And then she fell. Sasha replayed the events of that day, the takeover, the fight with Anne; maybe if she did something differently Marcy would’ve been okay.
She couldn’t believe what she heard, “What?”
“We escaped through the basement passageways, I know them like the back of my hand, I used to sneak down and play there when I was little. But there was a room I had never seen before in my life. A room full of eyes. With a tank of strange fluid, suspended inside it was our little girl.” Olivia remarked. Sasha was speechless. “I know it was her. Andrias is keeping her as an experiment. We must rescue her before it’s too late!”
“Rescue?!” Grime questioned, “You want us to actually storm the castle, while flying, and armed! We don’t have the numbers. We’ll never last!” Grime protested.
“I DON’T CARE. She is my responsibility, and we are going back for her! Sasha please.” Olivia begged.
“It’s suicide!” Grime countered.
“Please Sasha. You know she’d do the same for you.” Olivia proclaimed.
“She’s alive.” Sasha whispered under her breath to herself as tears began to well up in her eyes. She moved her hands to cover up her face. She began to laugh, “She’s alive! She’s okay!”
“Sasha?” Grime asked concerned.
“We set off immediately.” Sasha announced as she wiped the tears away and marched off to the wartable. “Come on, let’s move it. We need to pack up and depart this campsite and move to our next position.” She began to roll up the maps and various other documents. Maddie and Wally went off to fold the tent up and move on. “Oh, and get these two some warm food, they must be tired.”
“Many thanks, my girl.” Olivia bowed as she took Yunan by the hand and dragged her further into the camp, where they served each a bowl of warm soup to lift their spirits.
Grime approached Sasha, he cleared his throat, “Commander, a word.”
“Yeah, Grimes?”
“Yes, I just wanted to ask: Are you barking mad!? Even with the united toad armies I could barely hold Newtopia for a day! And now without them, what chance do we stand?!”
“You underestimated these frogs before.” Sasha countered.
“This isn’t about the village folk’s prowess, Sasha. This is about dooming them! If we march on Andrias now, we are doomed!”
“I’m not taking ‘no’ for an answer! We’re rescuing Marcy… She needs me…
“But-”
“End of discussion!”
“Don’t use that tone with me young lady!”
“…Sorry…”
“…Sasha, I know you miss your friend. I’m sorry. But you’re not thinking straight. As Commander you must consider the troops!”
“This coming from the ‘Every dream has its price, and not everyone's willing to pay it’ guy? I thought you weren’t ‘afraid of death’.”
He signed, “I know you feel like you abandoned her. But you didn’t. If we hadn’t left, we would have died too.”
“Heh, how are you this good at reading me?” Sasha asked darkly.
Grime huffed, “Because I’ve had a lot of experience with what you’re going through. You’ve probably noticed I don’t have any friends, other than you, heh… People leave. You just endure.”
“No offense, but I don’t want to end up like you.” Sasha didn’t quite realise how hurtful it sounded until the words left her mouth. She and Grime both remained silent, both ashamed of their words. “…This isn’t the first time I failed her. All this, everything I do, I do for Anne and Marcy. I want to prove myself, I want to be a good person.” She turned back to Grime, “Can you help with that?” She asked expecting nothing.
He sighed, and smiled, “Of course, kiddo.” He placed a gentle hand onto Sasha’s shoulder, and patted her, “But now we just need to find an army that’ll fight with us against certain hovering death.” He scratched his chin while pondering on it.
“If you need an army look no further than these Newtopia neighbouring lands, the newt army Andrias just threw out scattered around these lands.” Sasha and Grime turned to Yunan who was leaning against a post listening on their conversation, while sipping on her soup. “Got a lot of friends in there who are just looking for an excuse to cave the King’s face in. You might be just what they’re looking for right now.” Sip. Gulp. “This is terrible by the way.” She stated with a monotone voice talking about the soup.
“…How long have to been standing there?” Sasha asked. Yunan just turned around and returned to be by Olivia’s side without words.
“Sounds like a plan?” Sasha smiled.
“Sounds like a plan.” Grime answered.
---
“Listen up, Wartwood! We’re going to march over to that moron King and we’re gonna kick his butt!” Wartwood cheered. “We’re going to save Marcy!” Cheering. “We’ll find Anne!” Cheering. “And we’re going to save this world!! Never surrender!”
To Be Continued
