My Wife
Andrea Medina x Reader
Summary: You've known Andrea for a very long time
Tumblr media
The first day you met Andrea Medina, you got married.
It was out in the schoolyard. It was your first day and she came bounding up to you, took your hand and said she was going to marry you.
You were shy so you agreed and you got married to her under the apple tree.
You remained by her side for most of your life. You couldn't even remember what it was like without her.
You were joined at the hip throughout your childhood. You would wait outside of training for her after school so you could get the bus back together. She would hang behind when you went to the library to study. You walked hand in hand everywhere together.
When people questioned it, Andrea would always respond the same way," I married her under the apple tree. I'm just being a good wife."
When you first married her, she gave you a Haribo ring to symbolise your love. It had been eaten by the end of the day.
She gave you a paper ring next. You wore it for weeks on end until one day it was raining and it ripped, falling straight off your finger.
After that came Andrea's own mother's wedding ring, which she had slipped off the woman's finger when she was asleep and brought into school for you. Your parents made you give it back though and Andrea just started holding your hand more in answer.
It was somewhat of a tradition, every year, to find an apple tree and get 'married' all over again. It started off as a cute thing little kids did but feelings developed almost as soon as you both hit puberty.
The change from best friends to girlfriends happened seamlessly for you both and soon Andrea was introducing you to everyone she could like she was bragging about something special.
"Hi, Miss Gallardo!" You said as you waited in the stands for Andrea to finish training.
"How many times have I said it? You don't need to call me Miss Gallardo. Lola is just fine."
Your face went a little red at the correction. "Right. Yes. Sorry, Miss Lola."
Lola groaned good naturedly, shaking her head fondly at you. "Andrea!" She yelled," Your girlfriend's here!"
Usually, after you finished your university classes, you would head straight to training to see Andrea so you were a very familiar sight to see waiting.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Andrea yelled back," She's my wife!"
Lola laughed, tucking you under her arm as she walked you over to your girlfriend. "No ring on her finger, no wife."
"She ate the first one!" Andrea complained, an arm coming out to wrap around your waist.
"It was very sweet," You replied, pressing a kiss to her cheek," And she did get me a ring." You pulled up the silver chain around your neck so Lola could see the ring hanging from it.
She rolled her eyes. "A promise ring isn't a wedding ring. It's like a pre-engagement-ring ring."
"Hey!" Andrea said," Don't be rude about our love!"
Lola laughed. "God, what is it with you kids and speedrunning life? Football career, finding your forever girl. Slow down a bit. You're making the rest of us look bad."
"You don't really need help with that," Andrea teased.
"Be nice to Miss Lola," You said to her," She doesn't have to put up with you."
"Fine." Andrea kissed your cheek and squeezed your waist.
"You should stick around more, y/n. Can you come to practice every day? I've never seen her shut up so quickly."
"Happy wife, happy life," Andrea replied.
"Alright, lovebirds," Lola teased," Off you go. Go be sappy and disgusting elsewhere."
You pulled Andrea after you. She got changed and showered in record time and soon you were walking hand-in-hand down the street.
The walk back was like second nature and you leaned happily into Andrea's side as she took the lead, ducking into a little cafe to get a much needed coffee.
"My favourite married couple!" The old lady at the counter exclaimed as you both ordered.
Andrea grinned triumphantly, puffing her chest out like she did whenever someone mentioned your childhood marriage.
"Our favourite coffee maker!" You say back, putting a hefty tip in the jar.
With your coffees in hand, you and Andrea wandered through a park and up a hill. You dumped your bags just in front of the apple tree.
"Okay," Andrea said, taking your hands and pulling you to stand under it," Ready?"
"Ready."
She cleared her throat and, just like when she was younger and didn't fully understand weddings, said," I love you!"
"I love you too!"
"Marry me?"
"I do!"
"I do!"
She grinned, spinning you around. "I am going to marry you," She promised," Properly."
"Good," You said," Because I'm getting sick and tired of introducing you as my wife without a proper ring."

My professor is unintentionally hilarious so I started keeping a list of things he’s said.
My entire department at my school is just filled with hilarious and genuinely kind professors. I am so lucky to have them teaching me a subject that I thoroughly love and enjoy so deeply, as they are so passionate and so dedicated to encouraging academic and personal growth. Not to mention they love a good rant. My friend and I literally plan our schedules around which prof is teaching the course bc we just love some of them so much.
(This is how we ended up both enrolling for a course about Greek & Roman science & technology, where we may have to write a 2000 word essay about olives. But yk, the olive was so important to Ancient Greek society, and I love olives, so it’s fine.)
But there is this one professor who stands out from the others. For some background information, this professor was one of my first professors at my university. In my first year, he taught me three courses (Latin & Classical Mythology), and I did a Latin reading group session with him, and I had my Greek Literature course with him (so I’ve spent a lot of time studying with him). Studying Latin can be so intimidating (for good reason, the case system is absolutely overwhelming when you first start learning it), but he created such a positive environment that I ended up being able to fall in love with Latin.
This professor is not always the most...organised (he left answers in our online tests by accident at least twice), and just goes on various tangents that take up most of our lecture time. (Although, I think this trait is common in the humanities. Literally look at what I’m doing right now). He likes to go on and on about literature and Hebrew and his years in grad school where he spent hours pouring over translating Plato or Aristotle or Gorgias. I personally find this entertaining and love learning from his little tangents. Plus sometimes he says some pretty funny things. Which I will now share a selection of with you.
**For Legal Reasons (ha), take the quotation marks with a grain of salt.**
“Conserve me sounds like you’re an autumn peach waiting to be put in a jar!”
(Context: we were translating the sentence: ‘Conservate me!’ which does directly translate to ‘conserve me!’ but ‘protect me!’ is just sooooo much better.)
“I suck.” *ends the Bongo meeting*
“Did I do something stupid? I do that a lot.”
*someone asks a question* “Oh, I don’t know.”
“Sometimes I get worried that nobody can hear me, so I have to ask.” *Five minutes after nobody could hear him and he didn’t ask*
“I was driving yesterday and I saw a vanity plate, in Latin! Latin is everywhere!”
“It was all leading up to this very high point of learning Latin!”
“Is anyone listening?” *No response* “Okay.”
“This is my cat Mango” (during online classes)
*Late for a lecture and Mango jumps up on his desk* …. “oh, mango!” *exasperation*
“Does everyone get that?” *No response* “Okay.”
“I get tired of hearing myself talk.”
“There’s a problem with calling it Archaic poetry. But, I’ve called it Archaic poetry.”
“How can class be over just when we’re going to talk about Socratic Irony?” *ducks head in sadness* “I’m just going to go outside and lie down” (it was raining) “…. okay class is over. Mark this as the most pathetic class you’ve taken at [redacted].”
(Context: he showed up ten minutes late and the lecture was very disorganised (I think he did a good job!))
*Begins gesturing to the blank title slide of his powerpoint* “Notice the nice ancient map I have with ocean all the way around, and then all the continents with a nice short kind of Africa, and everything kind of roundish, smushed together, with the Mediterranean (Old world) oversized, Black Sea oversized, and everything stylized once you get out to the East.”
“Some colonial asshole probably, who lived a really dull life and wanted to oppress people.
(I can’t even remember what lecture this was from. I’m thinking it’s our geographical literature lecture. And he’s right lol.)
“Don’t tell the bartender that you’re there for the Inklings, he won’t care. It’s not like I did that or anything.” (Talking about the Eagle and Child pub)
“Scholars are fairly certain there was no access to google at this time.” (Talking about the year 280 AD)
*Everyone in the class agreed that we hate Plato.* Someone says: “I have beef with Plato!” He laughs and just dejectedly says, “aw. I love Plato.”
“A hoplite was kind of like the middle class who could afford heavy armo-- actually, you know what, we don’t need to talk about that.” *moves on and doesn’t finish his sentence*
Some other things he has done that I think are wonderful:
When we were studying Herodotus’ Histories he told us about how when he was in grad school, he used to read Herodotus to his daughter as a bed time story. It got to the point where she would ask for a Herodotus story.
Came into class, took out his laptop, wrote a website URL on the chalkboard, turned around, told us we had to go to that link and fill out a survey and then walked out of the room with all his stuff and didn’t come back for fifteen minutes.
Always had at least one typo in all his pop quizzes. On our quiz for Poetics he wrote ‘Aristotle’ as ‘ARistotle’ and my friend and I looked at each other and made pirate hooks with our fingers.
Hosted a Latin reading group in the summer and gave the people who had been studying latin for less than a year the Vulgate and Ovid’s Metamorphoses. (I gave up so quickly). But went on a ten minute ramble about the word ‘fiat’ and the subjunctive mood (which helped me a lot in second year).
While studying the Vulgate he went on a mini rant about St. Jerome and talked about his authorship when it came to his Latin translation, which spiralled into a 10 minute discussion about Hebrew and his frustrations with it.
Our pop quizzes were 5 multiple choice questions and we finished them before he finished handing them out, only for him to be shocked each time.
Agreed that the Greek Gods act like a squabbling family in the Iliad.
Laughed at my friend’s theory that between the Iliad and the Argonautica it was like they had grown up, and agreed.
Pronounces ‘circe’ like ‘sirsaayyyy’ (very long ‘ay’ sound at the end)
Whenever he writes words on the chalkboard he accidentally writes them in Greek (ancient Greek isn’t a pre-req for this class), and then has to take a minute to figure out how to write it in English.
Said: “Why does everybody read the bloody Republic? Read Symposium” only to realise like 5 minutes later THAT HE SCHEDULED US TO READ THE REPUBLIC.
TLDR - He’s a very funny man. And he’s a very good professor. He did create what is probably one of the MOST CONFUSING ESSAY QUESTION I’ve ever had the displeasure of creating a thesis for, but that’s beyond the point. I would go on forever, but this is already long.

The diaboys reacting to a boy forcefully kissing their s/o female x reader
❌Trigger Warning!❌ There is non-consensual kissing and aggressive flirting. The kisses are very short and it doesn’t go further than a kiss but if non-consensual kisses and aggressive flirting make you uncomfortable or trigger you or bother you in any way, you may not want to read after the cut :)
Shu
——-
The hallway was deserted, he had you cornered against a wall. “I really like you.” The boy said, his arms caging you in. You laughed nervously. “Thank you, but I actually have a boyfriend.” “He doesn’t need to know.” The boy said, moving his head closer to you, putting you nose to nose. “No, thank you!” You pulled back and tried to duck under one of his arms but he quickly grabbed your waist and pressed his lips to yours. You shoved at his chest but less than a second later the boy was pulled away from you and you heard him yelp in pain. Looking up you saw Shu had him pressed against the wall, his wrist in a bone-crushing grip. Shu’s voice was quiet and calm, but the look in his eyes would have made even the bravest of men cry for their mother. “You don’t kiss what doesn’t belong to you. Now scram.” The boy didn’t need to be told twice, the second Shu released him the boy dashed off. Shu turned to you, his eyebrows furrowed and you looked up at him sheepishly but he then hugged you. “Ha..you troublesome woman...making me use my legs.”
Reiji
——-
Reiji was walking through the school, mentally going over his notes for the next test. He passed you-seemingly alone in an empty classroom. Curious and worried, he walked in and saw a boy looming over you. The boy then pressed his mouth to yours, firmly holding you in place. Reiji stalked forward and grabbed his forearm, wrenching him off of you. “Kissing a woman forcefully, your lack of manners are completely deplorable. If Karlheinz Sakamaki found out scum like you went to this school...” Reiji let his voice trail off. The boy’s eyes widened. “K-Karlheinz Sakamaki?” “Yes, as I’m sure you know, he’s a very influential man.” Reiji let go of the boy and stepped closer to him. “He also happens to be my father. If you don’t wish to get expelled, leave this room.” After another fearful look, the boy ran out. Reiji looked down at you and you hung your head. “I’m sorry-“ “I know it’s not your fault. I’m going to teach you self-defense. He will not be the last man to approach you like that.”
Ayato
———
Ayato just wanted some damn takoyaki. Why did you even insist on going to class? Why would you prefer that over making the great Ayato food? He paced outside the classroom door, waiting for you. The door flung open and it was only Ayato’s incredibly vampire reflexes that prevented him from being hit with it. You walked out. “Finally! Your Truly was-“ You hurried past him. “Huh?” Ayato followed after you angrily. Why the hell were you ignoring him? A boy bumped into him. “Hey! Watch where you’re going!” Then Ayato saw the boy run after you and grab your waist, then turned you around and kissed you. Ayato saw red. He ran forward and yanked the guy backwards by his sweatshirt, then threw him to the ground. “Don’t touch what belongs to Yours Truly!” Ayato kissed you deeply and grinned down at him. “I’m the only one who can kiss her, you got that?”
Kanato
————
“Uh, well, um...” You stammered, backing away from the boy approaching you. “You can’t seriously be loyal to that Kanato guy, right?” He asked. “He’s so weird, carrying that bear everywhere. You’d do so much better with me.” “No I-“ The boy grabbed your arm and pulled you forward, then kissed you. You squealed against his mouth and thrashed. Suddenly the boy pulled back, screaming in pain and fear, his clothes on fire. You turned in panic and saw Kanato, who looked terrifying. “No, Kanato, please don’t kill him!” You begged. Kanato’s eyes narrowed at you. “You want to save him? Are you cheating on me?!” “No! I tried to stop him from kissing me, but I don’t want him to die!” The fire stopped, the boy unscorched. Kanato turned to him. “I’ll spare you now, but if you come near my doll again, Teddy and I will cut you into little pieces.” The boy whimpered, nodding, then ran away. Kanato looked at you angrily. “Since I spared him, you owe me. Give me your blood now. After school we’ll go to the sweet shop and then you’ll bake me a pie.” You nodded weakly and allowed Kanato to sink his fangs into your flesh.
Laito
———
The boy leaned forward and kissed you. You shoved him away. “S-sorry, but I have a boyfriend!” The boy chuckled. “Yeah, that Laito guy? He’s a perv, I’m a gentleman.” He tried to kiss you again but Laito stepped in between the two of you. When did he get there? “A gentleman who tries to kiss a girl after she says no? Fufu, how pathetic. This is my Little Bitch. Get your own and leave.” The boy narrowed his eyes but left, muttering curses under his breath. “Thanks, Laito.” You tell your boyfriend quietly. He turned to you, smiling. “I need to get every trace of him off you. When we get home we’ll shower together and your body will drown in my touch.”
Subaru
————
“Look, I’m flattered, but I’m not interested.” You said, which was basically just a rewording of the previous three sentences that had left your mouth. The boy stalked closer. Was he always that tall and scary looking? He grinned down at you, then yanked you for a kiss. You squirmed but he was too strong, almost as strong as-“GET THE FUCK OFF HER!” Subaru. Subaru threw the guy against the wall and punched him in the face. “Don’t ever kiss her again, ya hear?” The boy desperately tried to stop his bleeding nose. “Okay, okay.” “Now fuck off.” Holding his nose, the boy ran off, leaving droplets of the blood. Subaru turned to you with a growl. “This is why I don’t want ya leaving my side! From now on, you’re stickin’ with me at all times.” Without waiting for an answer, Subaru grabbed your hand and started walking to his next class.
Ruki
———
“Your master isn’t here.” The boy next to you said thoughtfully. “Huh?” You blushed. Had he heard Ruki call himself your master? You were sure you never called Ruki master in public. The boy walked over to you. “I’ve got ya to myself, Livestock.” Your eyes widened and you nearly toppled over a desk. He grabbed your face so hard it hurt and kissed you. Ruki rushed into the room and pushed him off you and onto the ground. Ruki towered over the boy on the floor, his cold blue eyes like steel. “Nobody calls her Livestock but me. Her master is always with her and if you don’t want to be at the other end of my whip, you won’t approach her again.” The boy scrambled back. Ruki wrapped his arm around your shoulders and steered out of the room, leaving the boy petrified on the floor.
Kou
——
Kou had just finished giving autographs and finally had some time to himself. He passed the library and something caught his eye. You were sitting on a table, which was normal, but you weren’t reading or studying. In fact, you looked like you were inching away from something out of Kou’s view. Kou walked inside and growled. It was the same asshole that had been flirting with you for a week now. Kou walked forward but broke into a sprint when he saw the boy’s lips touch yours. Kou hugged you from behind and pulled you back. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Her boyfriend isn’t keen on others kissing her.” Kou lead you away and made a mental note to tell his fangirls to make his life a living hell.
Yuma
———
Yuma hated being stuck inside a classroom, he wanted to be outside working in his garden, preferably with you. He asked the teacher if he could go to the bathroom and left with his hands in his pockets. He heard a scared voice and turned the corner. He saw you were backed up against the wall by three large guys. Not larger than him, of course, but way too big for you to take on. The boy in the middle, right in front of you, who seemed to be the leader, yanked you against him and kissed you. Yuma pulled him back by his hair and punched him. The other boys tried to come to his defense but Yuma easily defeated them. He picked you up and threw you over his shoulders. “Don’t touch her again. There’s more where that came from.” He warned the boys with a fanged grin.
Azusa
———
You backed away from the boy. “Azusa’s so creepy, why do you like him?” “You’re acting creepy too now!” You said angrily. For a second the boy’s eyes widened but he then laughed. “Whatever. He’s a weakling, I’m not. So come here.” He managed to grab your arm and he pulled you close to him. He ducked his head and kissed you. A force shoved him away from you. “Eve...is mine...don’t touch her...” Azusa said. “Yeah, what are you gonna do?” Azusa pulled out a knife. “Your arm...would look so pretty...with a new friend...” the boy squeaked and ran away. Azusa chuckled but then looked at you seriously. “That was...an accident...right, Eve? You didn’t...want to...Kiss him, right?” You nodded. “I didn’t.” “Good...I’m glad...” Azusa kissed you sweetly. “Only I...can kiss Eve...”
Carla
———
If Carla wasn’t so angry, he would’ve laughed. A human like that guy kissing you? His lips weren’t even worthy of kissing the dirt under your shoes. Using his magic, Carla made him soar across the hallway and hit the wall. “You scum. Your mouth doesn’t deserve to breathe in the same oxygen as her. Now go away, or you’ll be very sorry.”
Shin
——-
Shin saw you struggling to escape the grasp of a boy kissing you. He ran forward and punched him, grinning when he saw the broken nose he had caused. “Don’t come back! Or I’ll send my wolves after you!” You doubted the guy understood the whole claim of wolves, but when a guy punches you in the face and breaks your nose, you do the sensible thing and run away. Luckily, this guy was at least somewhat sensible and did just that.
Kino
——-
“Um, noooo, I’d rather not.” “So you want to skip the movie and just do this?” The boy kissed you. You pulled back. “Hey! Don’t kiss a girl like that!” You yelled. Kino and Yuri walked forward, seemingly out of nowhere. Kino held your waist. Yuri looked at the boy. “You shouldn’t touch what belongs to another, nor should you kiss what belongs to my master. He’ll get very angry.” Kino kissed you deeply and shot the boy an arrogant grin. “She didn’t pull away from me.” His face then got angry. “Now screw off.”

Graveyard Siblings (6)
Class revenge. And mention of suicide.
[Masterlist]
(Part 1)(Part 5)
------
Normal class day and most of the class was still together. This is set after the class’s trip to Gotham.
Alix and Chloe had transferred to another class or a different school. There were a few new students but they transferred out within a week, when they all had tried to point out Lila’s lies and the class picked on them on Lila’s behalf.
Class is still taught by Mme. Bustier.
She rolled-calls and somehow Marinette’s name was on there and she just absentmindedly read it.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng”
“Present.” A cheery voice said.
Goes to the next name before everyone froze and looked at the source of the voice which was where they exiled Marinette to before her ‘suicide’.
There she was. An older-looking Marinette who would look the same age as them as if she was still alive, her longer hair was in a high ponytail and her clothes were switched out from her usual pink to red and black and had a more mature look that was stylish instead of cute.
She wore her signature bright grin but the sight of it brought chills down everyone’s spines.
Lila thought that it was her curse kicking in and since she hadn't seen Marinette until then, fainted on the spot, thinking she was finally going to be killed.
“M-ma-marinette. What are you doing here?”
“What do you mean?” Older Marinette said with a confused face. “Oh. You mean why am I not late? First time for everything, I guess. I am not late today so Yay for me.” She giggles but everyone else thinks that it sounds terrifying.
“But this is impossible. You simply can’t be here.” Max said, “Odds of you still alive are zero.”
“Can’t I? I mean I woke up early and got here on time. What is impossible about me being early? I would normally be a zombie during the morning, Max but nice one.”
Some students checked their phones for akumas. Hawkmoth had mysteriously disappeared around Marinette’s death making a few rumours about Marinette being Hawkmoth floating around. (Lila was the first to suggest that as a theory.)
Mme Bustier cleared her throat, terrified out of her mind and scared that if she provoked the ‘ghost’ of her former star student, there would be consequences like the horror movies. But she was not going to let it hurt any of her students.
“Marinette, there must have been a misunderstanding. You should be home.”
“Why?’
“Because um...you are... you are sick and you don’t want to infect your fellow classmates, right?”
“Hm..I feel fine but now that you mention it, I feel a little dizzy. I think I am going to take the day off.”
The rest of the class murmured in agreement, scared not to offend the ‘ghost’. A few of the girls like Mylene had tears running down their cheeks. Horror movies logic dictates that you should not remind the ghost that they are dead or make them angry.
Juleka was half-scared out of her mind for Rose who was also crying and herself and also half-excited, even though Marinette might be a vengeful ghost, there is still a ghost in their classroom.
Mme Bustier started muttering prayers under her breath.
Marinette packed up her things and was out of her seat when Adrien came into the class.
He was held up because he started sneezing non-stop this morning. Turns out Natalie had some black feathers on her.
He sees Marinette in the back row.
“Ma-Marinette! How are you here?!” to which everyone in the class sans Lila who was still passed out, shushed at him.
Ignoring them, he blurted out, “You are dead.”
The word echoed through the classroom. It was silent for a moment and you could hear a pin drop.
“Dead? What do you mean dead?” Marinette took a step down the stairs, the perfect picture of confusion but her eyes seemed a little crazed and Adrien took a step back, the word ‘Traitor’ carved into his back started burning.
Everyone in their seats shifted slightly away from her. Some considered making a run for the door but they didn’t want to draw attention and face the ghost’s wrath. They all mimed at Adrien to stop.
He ignored them again. “Don’t pretend you are innocent. You did this to me. YOU MADE ME LOSE EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED DEAD. I DON’T REGRET KILLING YOU FOR THE HORRIBLE PERSON YOU ARE, LADYBUG. YOU DESERVED TO DIE FOR WHAT YOU DID.”
Realizing what he said, he covered his mouth, hoping it would somehow fix the damage he had done.
Marinette smirked. The picture of innocence gone.
It took a moment for what Adrien’s outburst meant to register in their heads.
Adrien, in an attempt to get back into their good graces, had once claimed to be Chat Noir, the ‘hero’ of Paris. They had brushed him off. If what he had said was correct then that meant that they drove Marinette who was Ladybug to kill herself. Horrible realization sets in as it meant that Hawkmoth won.
Lila chose that moment to came back to the land of the living to scream bloody murder once she saw Marinette again.
The scream brought everyone out of their trance from their shock and started screaming or yelling.
The windows slammed open and the wind whipped. The doors of the classroom closed shut with a loud bang. The clouds were dark outside and there were some flashes of lighting and thunder. (Thank you Longg.)
Marinette’s hair was undone and whipped around her. Her eyes were glowing blue. As she started laughing at the chaos she had unleashed, the class and Mme Bustier ducked for cover and hid under their desks. Except for Adrien and Lila.
Lila, fueled by anger, pounced at the ravenette but was thrown against the classroom wall before she even had a chance to lay a hand. Fell down and appeared to be knocked out. Alya made a move to check up on her.
Adrien was thrown back against the floor when the strong winds started. The scars on his back were burning with a lot of intensity now and it was a miracle that he still hasn’t passed out from the pain.
Unknown to him, the words were glowing red and seen through his shirt. Mme Bustier, Nino, Sabrina and Nathaniel were the few that saw the bright red letters spelling out ‘TRAITOR’ on Adrien’s back as he got back up.
“Marinette, this isn’t you. Milady, please.”
“Shut up.” She flicked her wrist, sending Adrien against the teacher’s desk. He hit it hard and was knocked out like Lila.
Alya after making sure that Lila was fine. “Marinette, stop this. I know that you are probably mad at Adrien for killing you but we never did anything to you.”
“Never did anything?! Never did anything? Hah. What about the time that you slapped me in the face in front of the entire school and said our friendship was over? You called me names. You said that I deserve every bruise you gave me. The rest of you weren’t any better.” She turned around and with the flick of her wrist, the heavy desks were in the air, robbing anyone of a hiding place.
“You stood by and allowed it to happen. You destroyed my stuff, claiming I deserve it. My sketchbook, filled with commissions, torn and stepped on like trash. You all crossed a line that Chloe didn’t even dare and you call it the right thing to do. Hypocrites all of you. Some of you have known me since l'école primaire. What was it about me that you believed her over me?! ”
What happened next was all a blur to everyone, there was a lot of screaming involved, some blood, lightning and thunder everywhere and then, black.
Nino opened his eyes to see Alya peacefully sleeping on her desk. What happened?...Oh Crap I fell asleep. The last thing I remember was….MARINETTE!
Nino snapped his head up. And saw the rest of the class and Mme. Bustier asleep in their respective places.
But there was a sense of wrongness. Something was off... and he can’t pinpoint on what.
The bell rang, startling everyone awake. Nino checked the time. And crap did they all sleep through the first period?! Turning towards his now-awake girlfriend, “Hey Alya, Alya, what do you remember?”
He was surprised to see red eyes like she had been crying. “I- I- I had the weirdest dream. Marinette was there, like she never died and she… why are you looking at me like that?”
“Don’t freak out but I don’t think it was a dream.”
On the rooftop, above the classroom, a red clad figure lounged at the edge with her airpods in and chuckling to herself.
-----
Marinette didn’t torture them. Scared the hell out of them, sure but it was harmless. Mostly. She left carved words on everyone’s wrists which no one else but the class can see. (This one is more mental than anything.)
The scars are unique depending on how close they were to Marinette before she died. Most of the class had the word ‘friend’ crossed out. FRIEND
Nino and Kim had Childhood friends. It serves as a painful reminder of how long they had known the girl.
Alya was a special case with BEST FRIEND and ‘A good reporter always checks her sources’ underneath it. She remembers saying those words to Marinette a long time ago, back when she thought she knew Marinette.
Mme Busitier had Best Teacher and when she was in the comfort of her own home, saw ‘Bully Enabler’ on her other wrist.
Adrien and Lila were questioned as they weren’t the only ones with scars on their wrists. (Although Lila had LIAR written in big letters across her forehead with a sharpie and a drawn-on-moustache of a cartoon villain.)
Nino managed to get the class to back off on Adrien and later to pull him aside to explain about the scars on his back and why did Ladybug (who was apparently Marinette this whole time and she was dead... he thinks.) called him ‘Traitor’?
Adrien told Nino everything. The curse didn’t interfere so for the first time in months, Adrien was able to say the truth.
-----
That was also the day that Lila’s reign finally ended.
The class had suspected for a while about her lies and false promises. There were a few inconsistencies in the beginning that were overlooked and brushed off as Lila’s memory problems.
They all had for the first two years had defended Lila against anyone (mainly Marinette) who thought she was a liar. Lila herself made sure that her lies were believable, actually putting in research for once in her life and planting evidence here and there about her achievements with a few faked articles. They staunchly believed her lies until Marinette’s death.
With her main enemy finally down and everyone else who opposed her, lost their morale along with their ally, Lila stopped putting in the efforts to make her lies seem real and then the cracks of her kingdom began forming.
At first, the students of Mme Bustier class believed them but the stories soon seemed like bragging but they were too polite to point it out to their ‘nice’ and ‘shy’ classmates.
Lila began making mistakes from her lack of research and a few of them later pointed out the few inconsistencies but they were brushed off as memory lapses.
More and more of these ‘memory lapses’ happened more often and soon, most of the class had their suspicion of Lila.
They were just in denial of Lila lying to them.
A few like Max, Nathaniel, Juleka and Sabrina who finally find out that Lila was lying and confront her about it were threatened and they were too afraid to do anything.
After all, Marinette had tried to disprove them and look where she is now. Six feet under.
And the ‘ghost attack’ from Marinette was the final straw.
The class tried to help Lila get rid of the sharpie, especially the one on her forehead and Alya made a comment how it was so typical of Marinette despite being dead and some half-heartedly agreeing.
Max, frustrated that his friends still can’t see it that Lila is a liar and they were the ones who drove Marinette to death that she is now haunting them and it was all their fault, took out his detailed research to disprove Lila’s lies. Nathaniel, Sabrina and Juleka spoke up and brought out their own research. The seeds of doubts which had been planted the past years were finally sprouting
A while later, the entire class was in chaos, everyone was shouting at Lila, some of them were shouting at Adrien, Alya being in complete denial and Mme. Bustier trying to maintain the peace.
Unknown to them, the camera in the classroom was being live streamed to a screen in a room in Le Grand Paris, complete with audio as a group of teenagers watched the chaos unfold.
“You know.” Chloe said, “I thought it was hilarious when you went all bloody mary on them but this shit is way more entertaining.”
Maria smiled, satisfaction on her face as she snatched some popcorn from Alix. “Oh, I had fun. Took years but Lila is finally getting what is coming to her. In about an hour, Signora Rossi is going to come through the door with the police.”
“What did you do, M?”
“Let’s just say the Italian Embassy and the French Police got an anonymous tip this morning about Lila Rossi and the incidents following her around the schools she had attended in the past couple of years.”
“No..” Alix gasped.
Maria just smirked.
-----
Gabriel was freaking out when Adrien came home and told him about what happened to his class.
He did not need another ghost attack on top of everything else.
First, Afterlife had managed to steal some (read: a lot) of Gabriel’s investors and Gabriel’s shares were plummeting.
Secondly, there were a few important documents leaked onto the internet, showing a few suspicious purchases which had the brand and himself under scrutiny.
Third, Natalie told him about her recent condition which occurs during the night and raised a few suspicious glances from Emilie when there was a raven in the house while Gabriel wanted to see proof of this transformation.
Lastly, Emilie had been poking around about the years she was in her coma and it was sheer luck that she hadn't found out about Hawkmoth and connected the dots.
He called up John again to complain that it didn’t work and asked for a refund or face a lawsuit. John pointed out that the spell only worked in the house and kept ghosts out of it and other places were free game.
Needless to say, Gabriel pulled Adrien out of school to be homeschooled again and made sure Emilie stayed inside, no matter what.
The longer Natalie stayed as a raven, the whiter Gabriel’s head of hair became and he was beginning to lose hair at a very fast rate.

Could you please write Hcs for an Mc who is the twst version of Elsa and what the dorm leaders think of her.
Uhhhh an Elsa request 🌚🌚 I’m quite excited about a request for Elsa!MC as I love hippie queen Elsa. Thanks for that! I’m a Helsa shipper and I’ve written fics (one of them hasn’t been updated since 14/02/2020 lol), headcanons, crack AU (there is twilight one sdfghj), incorrect quotes etc... One of the Helsa AUs I love is the genderbent AU. I saved a few of them in my OG blog, I can share all of genderbent frozen characters’ links here which can be imagined what if they were in Twisted Wonderland. Just gonna share this one because I got that as a gift for Valentine’s Day
I added Elsa!MC’s relationship with the dorm leaders in some headcanons. I was too excited for Elsa!MC that I focused on MC in this post.
MC/Yuu
It is not where MC imagined waking up, inside of a place more confined than her room. It is overwhelming and she has no idea how she ended up there. Certainly, it cannot be her mother and father as they wouldn’t do that without telling her... right? Maybe she didn’t realize her powers got out of control while her parents did so they put her more confined place.
All these thoughts are racing in her head, not even hearing the commotion coming outside where she is, only realizes it when a door is opened and she falls from a little high place. When she sees Grimm, she doesn’t believe her eyes first then she remembers the trolls then she sees his magic. It’s similar yet opposite magic of hers, fire magic. She is fascinated by it but she can’t be near another destructive power like hers and also Grimm wants to take her clothes which is something she certainly cannot do! Her gloves especially!
MC starts running when she notices that she isn’t wearing her gloves, leaving an icy trail behind.
When she is found out, she is dragged down by some suspicious man. She tries to explain that she is too dangerous but he doesn’t listen. She doesn’t want to hurt him accidentally like she did with her sister.
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know, be the good girl you always have to be; she repeats herself to not freeze the weird bird guy.
When she is pushed in front of the mirror, it says “This one’s soul does not fit Night Raven Collage” then the other magical creature that wanted her clothes wants to take her place. The creature spits fire everywhere and someone yells “Duck!”.
MC is panicked, suddenly pulling her hands over her face to cover but the blow never hits as she froze the magical creature when she moved her hands.
“I’m sorry, sorry” MC repeats.
She accidentally freezes the ghosts when they are materialized but they phase through the ice.
She panics when fighting the first overblot monster, she would rather make herself an ice castle and live there even if the food and toilet would be problem but Dire sends her in that mission, saying that it will help her open up. Though she can swear that she heard him mutter “testing her abilities.”
After the first overblot fight, MC gains a new perspective of her powers, protecting instead of destroying.
MC asks if she can attend the classes online like she did in her world because she doesn’t want to be around people but her proposal is refused. Dire assures her that the teachers and the classes would help her to return home while learn about controlling her powers. She agrees, has to agree but she still prefers online learning. She hears that another person in the school wants it so she decides to meet him so they can maybe convince Dire for online classes. Idia agrees but neither were able to convince Dire.
MC gains confidence after learning about the magic, fighting overblots and gaining friends.
She doesn’t want to play Magift but she does for her friends. She freezes the ground of rival team in this case Savanaclaw and freezes them up to their hips but they need more as Savanaclaw has better physical abilities and more magic control.
She feels Riddle’s pain as she got subjected to a similar thing for a different reason.
MC also understands Malleus’ loneliness as she was also alone for another reason. Their nightly walk is precious to her and one of the things that helped her to open up.
When she feels confident enough, she signs up for the singing competition of NRC. She writes a song based on her life but adds victorian era royalty so it won’t be exact same as her story.
MC wears confined clothing and makes a small snow hill and a small scale snow storm on stage as a prop. She starts walking on the snow hill and starts singing. “Now they know...” She takes off her gloves. She makes a small ice bridge then an ice castle as she continues to sing then she changes her clothes with magic. “Cold never bothered me anyway,” She says, closing the castle door and leaving the stage.
She wins the competition much to Vil contempt. Now she got in his radar. On the other hand, Azul offers her a job, singing in Mostro Lounge which she accepts and forms a strange bond with Azul, Floyd and Jade.
MC says “Glaciers are rivers of ice” and gets a deadpan expression from Azul and Jade while Floyd laughs “Shrimpy isn’t making sense.” Meanwhile, Azul says “We have seen glaciers every year, they are not rivers of ice.” However, MC ignores them and adds “Water has memory so ice has memory too.” Azul just gives up at that point. He thinks she is using Jade’s mushrooms.
Before she gained self confidence and interacted people more, she wasn’t able to handle Kalim but the new her enjoys spending time with him. She teaches him snow games such as snow ball, ice skating, sliding on the ice...
Leona didn’t care for MC as long as she didn’t use her powers. Cold and he don’t get along. After she gained confidence, she started to play with ice and snow more and dropping the temperature of some places, much to his dread.
MC gets comfortable with herself one day and she feels the calling of the woods. So she follows that calling.
MC starts living in the forest of NRC instead of Ramshackle despite leaving Grim all alone there, though there are ghosts. She found herself in the woods
Now Azul is certain that she consumes Jade’s strange mushrooms.

Part 1 Here! / Part 2 Here!
A/N: I think The next post will be the last one for this series!
“Did you...have fun tonight?” The way Dick haltingly asks causes laughter to bubble out of your mouth
“I can say that was nothing like any family dinner I’ve ever seen-“
And if that isn’t the truth, for one - even though you’ve heard of all of Bruce Wayne’s adopted children, you didn’t think there would be so many.
Dick’s the oldest, well officially anyway. Barbara Gordon, as in Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, was at dinner too. Apparently she and Dick had a brief stint where they dated. You’re guessing it was before Dick realized he likes boys - or maybe he likes both? You’ve never expressly asked him about using sexuality.
He’s got three little brothers, the youngest and the second oldest seem to have the highest predisposition towards violence, mostly to each other. And then the second youngest, Tim, he seems to be barely held together, mostly through caffeine and anxiety.
Cassandra from class was there too, as well as Stephanie, which was nice to see. They ducked out halfway through, which should have been your queue to duck out too.
Unfortunately you didn’t, which resulted in a rather poorly placed tomato soup stain at the edge of your dress’s hem.
“I like your brothers though” you say with a smile. You did like his brothers. The youngest, Damian, stared at you for seven very long minutes, before saying-
“How do you feel about animals?” When you told him you loved them he seemed pleased. Also, as a college student, you vibe with Tim. Though you do think someone should cut him off and have him switch to herbal tea. Jason seems cool enough, he just looked at you for a second before giving Dick a wolffish grin.
“Alfred was nice too, and it was fun seeing your- uh...Bruce again” You almost called Bruce his Dad. Bruce is nice, but he’s still a bigot. It was nice meeting Alfred, who showed you many pictures of a nine year old Dick Grayson, most of which were him doing acrobatics around the house. Honestly you thought it was adorable, but you put an end to it since Dick was blushing so fiercely that you thought he might combust.
It really was a lot of fun.
You shiver, the cold night air brushing against your bare arms. You’re standing in front of your building, saying your final goodbyes until you scamper off to your apartment, getting ready for another week of classes.
“Here, take my jacket-“ He’s already tugging it off. Before you can protest, it’s settled over your shoulders. The effect is almost instant, tendrils of warmth seeping into your shoulders and upper body.
It smells like him, you think.
Like- like his expensive cologne, with notes of amber and moss- but also like soap, like clean laundry, and something else, something sweet.
“Cotton Candy” You murmur to yourself. He probably eats it by the gallon sized bag , you think with a giggle.
“T-thank you-“ your eyes trail from the sleeve of his suit jacket to Dick, who’s got a pink tint fanning across his face, blue eyes flicking from the ground to your eyes.
“Thank you for coming with me tonight, and being so kind and considerate and lovely” and then Dick does something completely unexpected, he leans in closer and presses a kiss to your forehead. Your heart leaps in your chest, his sickly sweet Cotten candy scent floods your senses.
You would just have to tilt you head up slightly to catch his lips in yours. He smells so sweet, it almost makes you dizzy. It’s like being drunk, you think.
You want to smell him more.
“Thank you for being so accepting.” His words are like a bucket of cold water being dumped over your head. You feel like you’ve sobered right up.
“Of course, we’re friends aren’t we?” You offer Dick a smile, but you know it’s probably strained. You were so caught up in the moment, you forget he’s already in love with someone.
All of his feelings, all of his kisses, they’re reserved for Nightwing.
“I’ll see you in class tomorrow” You call out, before walking into your building, feeling Dick’s lingering
Tumblr media
So you like Dick.
F*ck.
You’re on the balcony of your apartment, nursing a glass of hot tea in the late night- or would it be early hours of the morning? You can make out the sky beginning to lighten into a lighter blue. Great so you stayed up all night thinking about your feelings.
Your body is going to love you for this.
How did this even happen? Were you just so focused on not getting a crush on either of his sisters that you didn’t see this coming. Ugh why dick of all people? Yeah, sure he’s got those sparkly eyes, and that permanent rosy blush, not to mention that lopsided grin-
Okay so you know why you’re falling in love with him. But there’s no point in nursing these blooming feelings not when-
“Hey do you have any sugar?” The masked crusader asks from beside you. That dazzling smile that makes people everywhere swoon aimed at you.
No point in nursing feelings for Dick, when the object of his affections is standing next to you, drinking earl grey out of your pink “Namaste in bed” mug.
“Or not- no big deal, I love my hot leaf juice with or without sugar.” He adds hastily, taking a loud sip as if to show you how much he’s enjoying your hospitality. You must have let your annoyance get to your face. You sigh, it’s not his fault that Dick loves him.
You’re the outsider here.
“So what are you doing out so late?” You ask, just wanting to make some small talk. But Nightwing lights up like you just offered him a million dollars. He’s so friendly it’s almost annoying, not unlike another certain dark haired golden boy you know.
“I’m always up, fighting crime, patrolling the streets-“ you never realized but being a vigilante is kind of a lot of work huh? You wonder if Nightwing has a day job, he looks so young though- maybe he’s still in school.
“The real questions is why are you still up?” His question is punctuated with a slurp of his tea.
“Just thinking I guess” you shrug, taking a sip of your own tea. You’re not about to tell Nightwing you realized you have feelings for his boyfriend.
“Thinking about the person you love?” It feels like you were just struck by an arrow. Nightwing’s mouth stretches. “No way, I was right?” You can almost picture the sparkle in his eyes behind his domino mask. You wonder what color eyes Nightwing has.
Probably a boring brown.
“Well who’s the lucky individual?” Noting your hesitance, Dick starts to get a little nervous. It hurts a little to think you don’t return his feelings. But there’s something about the shy look on your face, the way your eyes avert to your cup of tea, that’s just hopelessly adorable. What he wouldn’t give to have you look at him that way.
And then, a terrifying thought occurs to Dick.
“Don’t tell me you’re in love with Bruce Wayne?” He’s got absolutely no chance if you’re into older men. No unless you’re willing to wait ten years or so.
Then the most amazing thing happens- your mouth opens and laughter spills out. He’s heard you laugh, but never like this. So loud, and almost desperate.
And then, you do something else he’s never seen before. Somewhere along the way those loud laughs transformed into equally loud sobs. Your mouth pinched tight as tears spill from the corners of your eyes.
A hand curls over your eyes in an attempt to cover your face. This is mortifying, you’re basically crying in front of your romantic rival, completely vulnerable.
You’re about to mutter out an excuse, how you’re not usually like this, that you must be close to your period or something. When you feel a pair of arms wrap around your shoulder, your face pressed against Nightwing’s chest.
“It’s okay, everything’s going to be okay” he murmurs reassuringly, his glove covered hand rubbing soothing circles into your back. And even though you were on the edge of recompsure, you’re thrust back into despair. Your sobs leaving you almost breathless as Nightwing continues to hold you.
“Tell me what’s wrong, so I can help” Dick whispers. Whatever it is, it must be serious. He’s never seen you cry, not when you were a hostage in that bank robbery, or held at gun point at that restaurant, not even when Damian was basically integrating you all night.
“I love someone, who’s never going to love me back” you manage between sobs, and Nightwing only shushes you. His hand traveling to your hair. Cradling your head against his chest.
He smells so good, like amber and moss, and something sickeningly sweet- like cotton candy.
He smells like Dick.
And that seems to soothe you a bit, along with Nightwing’s gentle warmth.
“Don’t worry, everything’s going to be fine, I promise”
Tumblr media
“Man, and I thought things were going really well between you guys” Stephanie says, her hand threading through her golden curls, head tilting back so it rests against the back of his couch.
“Yeah, me too” Dick admits with a sigh, he’s sitting with his knees propped up on the floor, his back against the wall.
Cassandra doesn’t say anything, her eyes are trained on the coffee table, their masks collectively strewn across it.
“So what are you going to do?” Stephanie asks, and Dick sighs again.
“What can I do honestly, they love someone else” he shrugs, he plays it off like it’s not a big deal. But the thought of your with someone else... it makes his stomach hurt.
“Just because she loves someone else right now...doesn’t mean she will forever” Those are the first words Cass has uttered all night, and Dick and Stephanie are both looking at her with wide eyes.
Stephanie’s already hyping him up, saying there’s no way their Dick’s going to lose to some no-face-extra, like your love is some sort of competition to be won.
And Cassandra’s only encouraging her, with energetic nods and the occasional ‘exactly’
But all Dick can think about is the way you felt in his arms, and how small you seemed as sobs wracked through your entire body. How deep your sadness felt, like he might be sucked in any moment too, tears falling from beneath his domino mask.
He hates whoever it is that made you feel that way. If it was him- if you loved him instead, he’d make sure you were never sad, he’d give you everything he was and everything he had if it meant you might smile for him.
He doesn’t want to change your mind, your feelings don’t work like that. All he knows is that he loves you- and what you need right now, is a friend. Someone who-
“Just wants to see them happy” Dick mumbles.

Killing Time
Because nothing can kill a relationship like lies.
A modern AU where crosshair is a hitman and you're his loyal girlfriend who happens to be in the bodyguard business, but neither one of you know the other's careers
Warnings: swearing, mentions of death, making oit and allusions to smut, also this is in no way accurate to real life and it's just dramatic, please don't hurt me lol
children you have full permission to run away and not come here, in fact please run away
Tumblr media
Very few things phased you. The only things that brought you to your precipice of agitation was burning pasta, your phone charger not working, and showing up to your shift only to realize someone had been killing all your clients.
Who said keeping people alive was easy? No one, that was who, and if anyone said it they were wrong or had no experience working with others whatsoever. Making sure others lived to see their next day was deadly business, for the people that were trying to live, at least.
“Charles!” You barked, feet hitting the floor of the bull pen. “What the hell happened?” You slammed your files on your desk, face warm, head just about collapsing with pressure. Your fingers pressed to your temples, hoping that they would grip it, hold it together. “Burke was alive when I left last night.”
“Doesn't matter now." Your coworker dropped his sandwich onto his desk. "Burke is fucking dead now. As dead as a doorknob." He swallowed his bite. "Luckily, you weren't on shift when it happened, so you aren't gonna catch any fire for it."
"Shit, Charles, a man is dead." You collapsed in your chair, a gentle "oomph" escaping your mouth. Your lips pressed together in agitation and you moaned to yourself. "This is the third one in two months. Sure, I'll get a couple cold bodies, but-"
"But this is a lot." Charles sunk into his own chair, grabbing for his sandwich again.
You stared at him, disbelief coating your gaze. "One is a lot, Charles," You snarled, grabbing at the folder on your desk. "Any leads?"
"Oh, yeah. But they're all at Burke's mansion." Charles tossed the crust of his lunch into the trash can. "I can drive ya."
"No, I'll take my car," You grumbled. You swiped the keys from your desk and stood, stalking back towards the elevator, anger eating away at you.
If one more of your clients- YOUR own clients- got killed, you would have to start pulling full shifts again.
___
Your shoes, practical, did little more than tap against the marble floor as you ducked under the Police tape. You skimmed the scene, frowning, eyes gracing past a particularly nasty chunk of gore on the wall. "Shot from above," You mumbled, glancing at the shattered window.
The mansion was huge. You'd been coming here for nearly a year now to keep an eye on Burke, and it still shocked you when you saw the absolute volume of the home. How much house would one man need, exactly?
In your years as a bodyguard you'd watched out for a lot of people- spoiled celebrities, prideful and arrogant politicians, and a particularly interesting Chef who had an unusual desire to cook everything with some kind of caffeine in it. That was probably your favorite client.
"Excuse me, miss," a voice broke the mumble in the next room, probably of detectives or cops sweeping the house for evidence. "You shouldn't-"
"I was Burke's bodyguard." You tugged your badge out or your pocket, allowing the interrupting police officer to take it and examine it. “You can verify with my assistant, Charles. Make sure you tell him he’s my assistant and not the other way around, though, he can be a dick.”
The cop hesitated, then gave a slight nod. “Well, we’re still cleaning up the scene.” His hands offered your badge back, and you slid it into your back pocket, satisfaction deflating. “You can come by later after it’s clean. Ballistics is running comparisons right now.” He paused and glanced at the shattered window. “Looks like the shot came from the garage. It’s the only side with no motion sensors or alarms.” The cop’s brows raised in interest. “Know why?”
“No.” You said, calmly, turning towards the front door. “I assume I can go there?” You heard no objection as you stepped outside, tugging your sunglasses back on over your eyes. The sun was unforgiving and you gave an involuntary hiss as the bright rays hit your eyes just right to temporarily give your vision black spots. You blinked strongly and hurried towards the garage.
In truth, Burke had alarms everywhere except the garage because he had so many people and cars coming and going. For any new technology the billionaire was releasing, the man had drugs and other forms of entertainment coming in and out, and it was all stuff that would probably bring him down. That nondisclosure form was still somewhere in the house in some obscure filing cabinet and you really, really, really didn’t feel like having a lawsuit lurking over your shoulders. Life was too good- well, everything outside of people you were being paid to keep alive was good.
Death really killed the whole “survival” business.
You clamored your way to the roof of the garage, noting the ladder was the same one that the gardener used around the several acres Burke owned. The police had to have put it here- the gardener only came in the mornings.
So who the hell climbed up here without a ladder? Most people didn’t want to put in the effort to scale this freehand or wedge between the wall of the garage and the fence to shimmy up. That someone had to be either very determined to kill Burke, for personal motive or financial motive.
You brushed off you pants and glanced around, looking down at the surface of the roof. Nothing- not even a bullet casing- had been left behind. You frowned and raked a hand through your hair, skimming your scalp as you examined the roof, walking to the edge closest to the window.
You stared in, at the shattered glass, pondering. Burke was heading to bed when he'd been shot, you assumed, so the assassian would have had to know his routine. Your mind ran through possibilities again, but you could come up with none that were motivated personally enough or fit enough to climb without much assistance. You trailed along the surface, frowning, unable to find anything, but paused at a smudge of black paint, small, on the corner of the roof.
____
You turned your car down the street, exhaling softly as you pulled into your driveway.
99. That was what the marks said. Very subtle, meant nothing, unless it was a birth year or graduating class. The cops had come back, irritated, snapped a couple of pictures, and told you off about your wild theories of a fiscally motivated assassian. Apparently, you watched too many scret agent movies, or something like that.
You opened the door of the car and climbed out, frustration making you slam it shut. You inhaled the scent of the yard- clean, fresh cut, and perhaps it could help soothe your anger before you went inside.
After fumbling on your Keychain, you unlocked the door and hurried in, locking it behind you. "Cross?"
A savory aroma wafted from the kitchen, and your mouth watered. Your toes found their way out of your shoes and you hurried to the kitchen, pausing briefly at the doorway.
Cross's lanky figure was leaning over the skillet, stirring something, pale hands moving in expertise across the stove top. "Darling, you're late." He drawled.
You sighed, fully entering the kitchen. "Yeah. Sorry." You leaned up and wrapped your arms around his waist, face pressing against his back. You sighed. The day felt a little less bad now- filled with him. "Work kept me."
"How was work?"
You grunted. "A killer. An absolute killer." The irony was not lost on you, but it was lost to your boyfriend. He thought you were an editor for some book publishing company, because cover was the most important thing. You were one of those people trying to stay alive, after all.
Lies hurt, but it was one of the necessary ones. A little lie.
"Yikes." His hands drew plates to himself. "Mine wasn't much better. Got a few new clients, a few new cases." He sighed. "The Baliff forgot to submit evidence."
You mumbled against his shirt. "Law school really paid off, huh?"
"I'll say." He turned around, adjusting your arms, slowly taking your chin and leaning down to peck you. You always melted at his kisses, knees weak and brain numb, and he seemed to know it every time. You hummed, running your hands up his chest, the irritation for the day pooling to your midsection as your fingers gripped his shirt, your lips pulling in on his.
Cross tugged away gently, and you whined, fingers stubbornly clasped. "Wow, really frustrated today."
"Yes," You mumbled.
His lips pressed towards one of their corners in a half smile, and he picked your head. "Go shower. Then we can eat and I'll take care of you."
You hummed, fingers reluctantly releasing him, and you hurried away to the bathroom. You paused at the dresser, rummaging through, grabbing an especially large t-shirt and hipster underwear. Comfort was more important at the moment.
You climbed into the shower, turning the water to as hot as you could and scrubbing yourself off, humming in pleasure as the day came off you and went down the drain. The floral scent of the soap remained, the purple bad working diligently to rid you of your grime and frustration. Lavender really is a natural relaxant. You sighed and leaned back briefly on the tile, feeling every muscle in you ease at the same time.
After toweling off and getting dressed, your padded to the kitchen where Cross was pouring a your favorite wine. You sighed happily, accepting the glass as he skimmed your fresh-showered body. "Thanks."
"Of course." Cross picked up his own glass, taking a sip, eyes still diligently stripping you on their own. You shivered slightly, setting down your glass and looking up at him. "Dinner's ready," He mumbled, leaning in, pressing a hand to the counter of either side of you, leaving your back to the counter. "But I would much rather start with dessert."
You drew in a breath as he pressed his lips to your neck, drawing out a sigh with his teeth. You wrapped your arms around his neck, humming in agreement, and he scooped you up. Your groaned as he drew your legs around his lips, shifting, the agitating heat pooling back between your legs. "That's a good idea." You mumbled, whimpering as he bucked his hips slightly. "I just showered, though."
"Then we can take another one," He hissed, lips covering yours. "You're so damn intoxicating."
You mumbled something against his lips, unable to get a coherent response out as he dropped you on the bed. You bounced briefly, giggling, and he yanked off his shirt and joined you, climbing over you and hovering. "Come here, sweetheart," His finger traced over your shirt between your breasts, running down to the hem. "Let's end the day on a good note."
You whimpered, neck straining as you leaned up for his kiss, and you felt Cross snarl against you, tugging your surrendered form up closer to him. Your body relaxed again, neck loosening and head back against the pillow as he tugged your own shirt up, eyes gleaming with a primal eagerness that made you swoon, ready to work out the agitation for the day you both had.

All The Hurt - Chapter 1
Pairing: Peter Parker x fem!reader
Warnings: ANGST, Peter was an ass, reader is a hurt and petty bitch, fluff to make up for the angst, curse words, lots of “coincidences”, description of an explosion and blood.
Summary: Peter Parker. What a dick. It wasn’t always like this, but once he just got up and gladly left you for an unknown reason, you decided to bring hell down on him by publicly ridiculing him whenever you got the chance. However, when you accidentally find out what he's been hiding, conflicted feelings begin emerging, causing you to wonder if you could ever forgive him — especially when he saves your life.
Word Count: 2.6k
A/n: this came to me in a fucking dream so you bet I had to wake up and write this. It’s already completed hehe. I’m going to be posting the parts every day so stay tuned :D
----------------------------------------
Never in your entire life would you have thought that there’d be a time when you’d willingly side with Flash. When you’d join him in bullying Peter, your best friend that you’d known since the both of you were shitting yourselves in diapers. Not a night goes by in which you don’t ask yourself why.
Why did he decide to break you?
The day he told you he didn’t want to be friends with you anymore was a day worse than finding out your father had cheated on your mother, prompting her to abruptly exit both your and your father’s lives when you were eleven. In all honesty, it felt like Peter took notes about suddenly leaving when you cried to him about your mother disappearing and used them to his advantage the summer before freshman year.
It was a pain like no other, a wound so hurtful your tear tank was constantly emptied every time you were alone in your room. There were too many nights where you’d lie awake with an ache in your chest - like someone dropped an avalanche on your heart and left it there to crush it.
Friendship breakups hurt like hell.
The days seemed to move slow and the nights even slower. You didn’t know how much time had passed when you’d blankly stare at your collection of photos of the two of you with tear stricken cheeks.
You constantly wondered if he regretted it.
And if he did, you told yourself you’d forgive him. You’d go back to him, because you were sure he didn’t mean it. Excuses began piling up in your mind, each one not having enough evidence to be proven true; maybe he was going through something he didn’t want to talk about. Maybe someone in his life died, like when Uncle Ben suddenly passed away. He didn’t speak to you for a week and didn’t show up to school, and when you went over to check on him, he broke down in your arms as he apologized for ignoring you, but you understood.
You always did.
So, you waited, and waited, and waited. Waited for a call, a text, something. But nothing ever came. No phone calls — he ignored yours — no apologies, no explanation, nothing but radio silence. It was almost like you never existed in the first place.
Day by day your hope slowly faded, and by the 56th day, all of it was gone. You didn’t know how to feel. You were furious at him for abandoning you. You were heartbroken. You told yourself you were being overdramatic — it wasn’t like you were in a relationship together, no matter how much you wanted to be.
All he ever saw you as was a friend. But that was before it all happened. Now he probably didn’t see you as anything but a stranger.
A stranger with memories and secrets revolving him.
Hot anger was quick to take control of your mind, and soon you stopped your crying and tore down years worth of captured memories and pinned birthday cards he made you - all reminders of how much you loved him - and threw them into a box. You shoved it to the back of your closet, along with your dignity and love for him.
Four months after your ‘breakup', you came back different. Newfound confidence shone out of you with every step you made down Midtown’s hallways. Your smile radiated happiness as you felt everyone’s eyes lay upon you. You were able to fool yourself and others around you that nothing happened. Your heart knew better, but soon it’d turn to stone.
And you convinced yourself that you preferred it that way.
You moved on, found friendship in others, and although they never lived up to him, they were enough to fill part of the gaping hole in your heart.
Flash making amends with you was probably the most surprising and unexpected thing to have ever happened in the school. You two got along well, almost too well, and about halfway into the school year, you became good friends. You two weren’t as close as you and Peter once were, but you bonded over your absent parents in ways you didn’t know were possible.
You felt understood, and he the same.
Still, that didn’t stop you from seeing Peter in the hallways. You made it a point to walk past him like you didn’t know him — because apparently, you didn’t.
You kept watching him from a distance.
You watched him make goo-goo eyes at Liz while rolling your own.
You watched him dart out of school at exactly two forty-five every day. You saw the anxiousness in the way he bounced his leg during class, the tapping of his pencil on the desk, the constant glances he threw at the clock with every minute that passed. You wanted to ask, but you didn’t.
On a particular day, the same day you overheard him and Ned making plans to meet up at his house to build Legos, you decided to go to Delmar’s to grab a bite. You hadn’t been there since the breakup, as you were always too nervous in case Peter ended up going there at the same time, and now that there was a clearing, you took it. Even if he was there, you didn't care.
You don’t.
When you stepped into the store, you were immediately welcomed by the one and only Mr. Delmar. He looked good — happy and content, and that’s why you absolutely adored him. It wasn’t fair that you cut off ties with him because of Peter, but he didn’t seem to take it personally. He went on and on about how much taller you’ve gotten and reminisced about how little you were when you and Peter got your first flattened number five sandwiches with pickles.
He must’ve seen your smile falter at the mention of Peter, because his eyebrows furrowed in concern not a moment later, “Did something happen to you kids? I never see him come with you anymore.”
So he’s been coming without you.
Ouch. That’s another stab to the heart.
Your palms began to feel slick as you rubbed them on your jeans with a strained smile and a shaky voice, feeling as if the walls were closing in on you, “Uh-we-“
But you never got to finish. Mr. Delmar’s eyes widened at something behind you, and in a split second, he yelled, “Get down!” followed by a string of Spanish curse words.
A scream left your mouth as a purple wave of something ripped through the bodega, nearly missing you by a strand of hair as you ducked. Shattered glass scattered everywhere, digging into the skin of your arms in a multitude of places. You hissed at the burn you felt below your eye, feeling a heavy liquid (which you assumed was blood) trail down your cheek and neck. You felt intense heat near your legs and your vision became blurred, ears ringing as all other noises besides your breathing became muffled. You coughed and coughed, feeling like your lungs were closing in on themselves from the fire that surrounded you.
The light above you flickered as you attempted to shout Mr. Delmar’s name, praying that he was all right.
But your voice never left your throat.
Your legs were trapped below two giant shelves that collapsed on them, and you weren’t strong enough to move them no matter how many times you tried to. The fire slithered like a snake as it began climbing to where your legs were being held below the rubble.
“Help.” You weakly whispered in between your coughs. The air around you felt heavy and limited, and it was starting to feel like you were choking on the fumes. You didn’t know how much longer your lungs could take.
It was hot. So fucking hot.
Your eyes shut and your head fell back on the ground, chest heaving in fast paces as you felt your body give up already, a burning sensation spreading all over you, like your insides were set on fire.
Your face trickled with sweat that dripped down to your cheeks, mixing with your tears.
Just when all hope was gone, just when you thought you were done for, you felt the weight lift off of your legs in one sudden movement, and an arm slide beneath your knees and on your back, holding you tightly.
You looked up at your savior, and who else could it have been other than Spider-Man, New York’s knight in shining armor, and apparently yours, too. You heard part of what he seemed to be saying as he looked down at you: “…got…I…you” and you could’ve sworn you heard your name.
But then again, you were on the brink of death, so you were no doubt hearing things.
You laid your tired head on his chest, wheezing into his smooth suit as he ran and jumped away from the fire until he reached the outside. He gingerly placed you on the ground and made you lean back against a parked car, and you breathed in the cool night air as he crouched down to rub your back while you practically choked.
In front of Spider-Man.
How embarrassing.
You felt your head heavily fall back as you clutched your arm in pain, the distant sound of police sirens audible now. Your eyes landed upon his covered face that turned away when you looked at him - like he was staring at you until you caught him. You could see that he wanted to go somewhere in the way that his spidey-eyes were expanding and shrinking at the destroyed bank across the street. You moved to touch your legs, and by some miracle, they were just a little sore. You could manage on your own.
“Go,” you breathily said, making Spider-Man look down at you, “I’m okay.”
He hesitated for a moment and pivoted his head to your legs. You breathed out half a laugh, coughing again, “Dude,” you placed a hand on his shoulder and jutted towards your legs as you began moving them, “they’re fine. I’m fine. I know you wanna go somewhere. Just go after it.”
He stayed. For a long minute, just watching you breathe and tilt your head at him. You wondered what was going on in that brain of his, wondered how old he was, wondered where he went to school - if he even went to school. You were trying to formulate a way to thank him for saving you, but you didn’t get the chance to. He nodded and quickly he sprung away, making way for the paramedics and cops to inspect the scene.
You didn’t go to school for a whole week after the incident, as you were too busy reflecting on what had happened. You went over multiple scenarios and “what if’s” and tried not to dwell on the fact that you had to have your driver pick you up from the hospital, not your father. He was probably out of the country, like he always was.
When you finally returned to school, you had stitched up three areas, including one below your eye, and were bombarded with questions and a large group hug from your friends. Your phone was no doubt a goner, so they had no way of contacting you. Even when they tried to come over, your housekeeper, Jane, always the responsible adult, told them the doctor needed you to rest alone.
She knew you couldn’t handle people, and needed to recharge on your own. She was like the mother you never had. Even when Peter left, she stayed by your side and tried to cheer you up. She knew how strong your feelings were for Peter, but she didn’t question you, instead allowing you to grieve the way you wanted to - alone.
Your friends asked you about what happened, and their eyes sparkled when you told them the Spider-Man came to your rescue, their excitement cutting short once the bell rang. They all left to go to their classes after wishing you a quick recovery. All but one.
Flash stood in front of you, nibbling on his lower lip with a wobbling chin and glassy eyes.
“Are you..crying?” you squinted at him, lips twitching into a smirk.
“Shut up,” he mumbled, wiping the stray tears before attacking you with a tight hug. You sighed deeply, feeling a nostalgic warmth spread through your chest as you placed your chin on his shoulder, arms circulating him and squeezing in a way that said "I’m here."
In class, you felt hardcore stares — stares that came from one person and one person only. You saw them from the corner of your eye, tracing the scar on your face. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think they were laced with worry. But perhaps you hit your head too hard.
During gym class, the last class of the day, you were excused from exercises due to your near-death experience, so you watched and cheered Flash as he climbed the ropes, attempting to break his own record.
“48 seconds.” You stated, pausing the timer as he jumped to the ground and planted his hands on his knees, breathing hard.
He looked up at you with a deep frown, “Seriously? How did I get slower?”
You shrugged, “Maybe you should change your nickname, Eugene.” You smirked, taunting him with the name you knew he hated.
He breathed out a laugh as he shook his head. He was about to say something when Ned’s voice overpowered everyone else’s with one sentence: “Peter knows Spider-Man!”
Everybody went so silent you’d think the queen of England had just walked in.
The sound of balls being dropped and shoes squeaking echoed through the gym as all heads turned to Peter Parker, who nervously looked around and quickly stood up, “Uh, no! No, I don’t. I-I mean..”
He clumsily made his way over to Liz (go figure), whose face remained expressionless.
“They’re friends,” Ned said as a matter of factly.
“Yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends,” Flash said, making a couple of people laugh, including you.
“I’ve met him, yeah, a-a couple of times. But it’s um, through the...Stark...Internship. I’m not really supposed to talk about it.” He gritted through his teeth as he threw daggers at Ned with wide eyes.
“Well, that’s awesome!” You piped in, your loud sarcasm breaking the silence that settled over the gym, "He’s a pretty cool guy, I’m sure Liz would love to meet him. Hey, maybe you should invite him to her party.”
“Yeah, I’m having people over tonight, you’re more than welcome to come.” Liz sweetly admitted, almost like she wanted him to come.
Ew.
“You’re having a party?” Peter said breathlessly, as if that wasn’t what you just said.
Flash gave Peter a snarling smile, “Yeah, it’s gonna be dope. You should totally invite your personal friend Spider-Man.” He suggested, derision oozing out of his words.
“Um-“ Peter stammered, helpless eyes searching for assistance in your own. But you wouldn’t give him any sympathy. Not anymore. You stared back, cold as ice, and you knew he saw that. You merely gave him a raised eyebrow, challenging him to say something.
“It’s okay,” Liz said, breaking you and Peter’s eye contact, “I know Peter’s way too busy for parties anyways so..”
“Oh, come on, he’ll be there. Parker wouldn’t ditch.” You said, voice dripping with venom as you maintained eye contact with him and walked past Flash until you reached him. You stopped at his side, just enough to give him a deadly stare, “Right?”
You watched his Adam’s apple bob and eyes dart across the ground as his fingers tangled with one another to conceal his shaking left hand. You studied his face, ignoring something that looked like a fading bruise on his jaw. The school bell rang, and with that, Flash walked to you, raising his hand for a fist pump. You bumped yours with his with a smirk and walked out the gym doors, ready to call Peter out on his bullshit once more tonight.

Tumblr media
You tapped on the straps of your bag, music playing in your ears as you walked through the halls. Ignoring the other students as you made your way through the maze of people. It was like any normal day where you did the same, go to school, go home, then sleep. It was a routine for you, happening at the same time right when it should be.
It was one of the reasons that gave you an excuse for your behavior being so cold and quiet. Because the things you experienced everyday were boring and repetitive.
You arrived in front of your class, moving to your usual seat and looking outside the window. Sighing as you were about to begin another day of school but your routine didn’t seem to go the same way today.
Your teacher was 15 minutes late, some students would’ve loved it, but unfortunately for you it was your favorite period. Sighing, you rested your chin on your palm, humming to yourself as the rest of the class spoke with each other, leaving you to be inside your own world like usual.
They knew you wouldn’t speak with them, after the first few weeks you had a lot of people approach you, wanting to be friends and inviting you to their groups but you merely glanced at them and walked the other way, not speaking nor turning back to give any sort of comment or response.
After that day nobody came to you, leaving you by yourself, and honestly you were okay with that, you never wanted to associate with anyone else anyway.
When the class door opened you all stood to pay respects to your teacher, noticing a few girls trailing behind her as she apologized for being late and greeted everyone in the class. When everyone was seated you observed the girls who stood in front and only one thought came into your mind.
They were really pretty.
“Please, everyone, meet our new transferee’s,” the teacher said and allowed each girl to introduce themselves. One by one saying their names while the boys at the back kept flirting and calling them playfully.
“Hello! Choi Yena, Nice to meet you all,” the last girl waved around the class before her eyes locked with you, her smile seemingly brightening when she stopped at you before moving back with the others.
“Alright, again from the left we have, Chaewon, Hyewon, Yena, and Yuri, let’s all give them a warm welcome for choosing our school.”
The four girls chose their own seats, each having one around the room before your teacher started with the lesson, making sure to call out to them if they needed any help. While you continued to listen and write down in your notebook.
An hour later the bell finally rang, your teacher giving a few reminders before she dismissed the class. You packed your things, making sure you didn’t leave anything before leaving the class, as you made your way outside your teacher suddenly called for you, making you turn to the front where she was with the four transferees.
You walked back to the front looking at your teacher before she spoke to the girls, “Y/n, I was hoping to ask for a favor,” She said and you already had a vague idea of what she was going to ask you. You nodded telling her that it was alright before she gestured to the girls.
“Since the girls are new here I was hoping you could look after them around for a while until they get accustomed to the grounds and locations, if it’s alright with you.”
It wasn’t a secret that you did well in school, you may have been lacking in social skills and communication but you were blessed when it came to studying and working. Some students looked up to you and the teachers loved you, you were the student that every teacher dreamed of having.
So you nodded, agreeing since you couldn’t say no to your teacher anyway. She was nice and treated you well so you accepted the offer willingly, nothing bad could come out from teaching the new girls around.
—-
“Yah, Y/n, when would you ever talk? Just once!,”
You rolled your eyes, staying quietly while you read the book in front of you. While the girl beside you shook your arm, pestering you again and again.
“Just a simple yes or no? Come on, I’ve been here for nearly 5 months and you still can’t speak to me that isn’t related to school?” She complained and before she could speak again the teacher came, thankfully stopping Yena before she could do more damage on your ears.
When you decided that helping out the four girls would be easy, you wanted to travel back and tell yourself how stupid that decision was. Because only the following weeks after was the time where you noticed how much that decision changed your life.
You went from having everyone ignore you, to suddenly having the whole student body crowding the path you walked, just because the five girls that were assigned to you, became your friends. Not that it was a bad thing, having Hyewon, Chaewon, Yena, and Yuri as your friends were great. They were lovely people and honestly who wouldn’t want four gorgeous girls as their friend.
But sometimes it could get a little out of hand, especially given the energetic state from Yena which blossomed when she grew closer to you. Though you constantly pushed her away and ignored her every day, she still kept talking to you, in a way you were both stubborn, you kept ignoring her and she would also ignore you.
It was ironic really, you kept ignoring her, telling her to go away, yet when you arrive at your house, you already are missing the energetic duck. Maybe it was because the air got silent and you were used to the noisy environment when you were at school or it could be because you were already fond of the girl without even realizing it.
Your actions have become more affectionate, at every class you keep glancing at Yena, making sure she understood the lesson. When you walk in the busy hallways you always keep close just to make sure she isn't getting lost.
While the other students always complain why they would hang out with you instead of them, Yena was always the first to speak up and defend you earning a look of admiration for the girl as she defended you while almost everyone glared at you.
Granted, the other girls were also nice, but there was just something about Yena that made her stand out than the others and it wasn’t just the fact that she was louder compared to the other three.
At times Yena knew she had a crowd following her, practically everywhere she was she had a crowd of students tailing her. She’s never had this much attention, that she didn’t know how much the other girls despised her.
So one afternoon, Yena was walking outside, classes just ended and you were called by your teacher to help with something. You told her that you would only be a minute, but Yena was easily bored so she left and decided to roam around.
When she found herself in the locker rooms she suddenly felt a sudden force push her to the side, colliding her with the lockers.
She groaned looking up to see three girls glaring at her. Yena furrowed her eyebrows, looking at the three with confusion before she felt a sting on her cheek followed by her head snapping to the side.
She gasped, her hand flying to her cheek, “I’ve always wanted to do that?”
A yelp came from her when the girl grabbed her by the hair and lifted her head, “What? Who are you?” Yena muttered and the girl laughed before glaring at her.
“We were the girls that you took the spotlight from, we were doing great before all of you came, you think you can just come here and take that from us?”
The girl scoffed before she glared at Yena, “I never wanted to take your light, you wanted it back then you can have it,” Yena said trying to avoid any more problems but the girl chuckled before tightening her grip on Yena’s hair.
“You think it’s all about that? All I wanted is Y/n and you came here and took them!” She yelled before sighing and looking at Yena who suddenly grew confused.
“Y/n?” She asked which made the three girls cackle before they stared at Yena with disappointment. “You really are an oblivious one are you?”
“Can’t you see it, you’re the only one who made Y/n soft. The person they allow to be near them and talk with them. I tried for months to get them to notice me but when you came they willingly let you talk to them. What makes you so special?”
“Because she’s not like you,”
The girl snapped her head to the side, her eyes widening when she saw you, your hands clenched by your side as you watched the scene in front of you. All four of them froze in their place as you walked to Yena, the girl backing away allowing you to help Yena as you brushed her clothes.
“I told you to wait for me,” you muttered before turning around to see the three girls’ eyes filled with annoyance and fear.
“I’m reporting this to the principal, so get ready,” you said blankly before leaving, a small smirk crossing on your lips when you saw their panicked looks, wrapping your arm around Yena as you guided her away from the school.
Once you were out the gate Yena didn’t waste a second to wrap her arms around you and pull you into a hug. Catching you off guard as your eyes widened, your arms staying stiff by your sides while Yena hugged you.
A few moments later Yena realized what she was doing and pulled back, her face burning as she awkwardly apologized for putting you in an awkward situation. You nodded at her assuring her that it was fine before an awkward silence lingered. Both of you wanted it to end but neither seemed to want to part from each other.
That is until Yena cleared her throat, “I-uh should get going,” she said and you nodded at her thinking if you should say something but settled with a nod.
Yena waited for a while before she turned, walking away from you and you watched thinking if you should do something before she finally left your vision.
You decided not to but your mind had an idea of its own and called out to her, Yena stopping in her tracks and turning to look at you with a certain glint of happiness in her eyes. “You wanna take a detour?” Was all you said before Yena came back to you with a smile on her face.
“...everyone never spoke to me, they knew that I wouldn’t respond anyway, they all ignored me. But that doesn’t mean that they would let me pass that easily, some got offended, started calling me names, the cool kids picking on me, girls gossiping, throwing out lies just to make fun of me. But eventually it passed and they considered me as that kid who didn’t have anyone,”
You finished with a sigh, your eyes set on the sunset as you swung your feet against the side of the edge.
You brought Yena to the top of the cliff you usually would hang around during the weekends. It was a place you considered peaceful since there was nobody around to nag you or be a nuisance. It was a relaxing place to release all the stress that you’ve been holding and keeping inside.
Now another person knew about it and it didn’t bother you one bit.
Yena stared at your side profile for a while, her mind processing the given information as she thought about what she would say, but she thought about nothing.
So she let the silence sit for a while, choosing to stare at the sunset before she sighed, contemplating if she should talk or not but when she opened her mouth you already beat her to it.
“How do you do it?” You asked and Yena looked at you, confused at where the question came from or why.
“How do I do what?”
“How do you affect me so much?” Your sudden honesty made Yena double take, looking at you with wide eyes while you continued to smile at the view.
“This is the first time I felt something this weird, you’re the only one who actually made me care.” You said choosing to just be honest since it was also confusing you on what was happening to you.
“I smile more, I think more, and I often found myself missing someone that I don’t even know,” you turned your head to look at Yena who this time was the one looking at the view with a small smile on her lips.
“I just know what I want,” she said quietly but enough for you to hear it as a sudden ticklish feeling spread around your chest.
“W-what,” you stuttered your face suddenly feeling hot making you cover your cheeks as you turned away from Yena,
“What are you saying,” you muttered before hearing a giggle come from the girl beside you, followed by a tingling sensation in your stomach. “You know what I meant silly,”
A squeak came from your mouth when Yena suddenly moved beside you and rested her head against your shoulder closing her eyes as she relished the warmth that spread throughout her whole body, inhaling your scent before she sighed, seemingly comfortable in her position while you sat stiffly and both of you sat there for a while, your body slowly relaxing on its own.
“You know I’m a little hard to get along with,” you said after a while causing Yena to hum before she shrugged her shoulders. “I got this far, why stop now?” She said softly before you finally relaxed your body adjusting to the position and the presence of another person.
Then you glanced down, for the first time noticing that Yena wasn’t just pretty, she was beautiful the way the sun lights up her features, her hair flowing down perfectly and how she looked peaceful.
You sighed, leaning your head down to rest on Yena’s before it suddenly clicked, the reason why you would be soft for Yena, why she stood out not just from the four of girls but every person in the student body.
She made you feel…
“....comfortable.”

Loving in Color
That's right! It's time! This probably will have 3 parts so keep an eye out for the second part!
Fandom: Power Rangers (Dino Thunder)
Pairings: Tommy/Jason, Conner/Ethan, Kira/Hunter, Trent/Oc
Words: 12068
Warnings: fighting, light swearing(as with most of my stories) and homophobia (trust me it makes me iffy about even posting this but the scene is breif)
She blinked at her reflection in the mirror and glared at it. With a huff she reached over and grabbed her favorite bandanna, the green looking nice when tied into her hair. She carefully rolled the article and tied it around her hair brushing her hair back into place.
“Kaley! Come on, or you won’t have time for breakfast!” Kaley heard the shout and looked towards her door.
“I’m coming Poppa!” she called as she grabbed her leather jacket and her backpack heading to the door.
She walked downstairs and gave her Poppa a hug before slipping past him and into the kitchen, beelining right for the coffee maker.
“Not you too, look if you have coffee you have to eat real food too!” Her Poppa said walking over to her and reaching up for a plate.
She nodded and offered him a smile.
“Dad only come up from his lab long enough to get a shower and a cuppa?” Kaley asked looking at him.
Her Poppa nodded and handed her the plate he had made her. Moving back to the table where his own plate sat.
“I don’t understand how he can work all night and then teach during the day.” Her Poppa said.
Kaley smiled and laughed as she sipped her coffee.
“Wasn’t it you and Uncle Billy who told me Dads a determined caffeinated workaholic?” Kaley questioned lightly as she started eating the pancakes.
Her Poppa nodded and sat back.
“Yes, but I was hoping, SOMEONE, would lighten up on the work over the years, clearly not.” He said as he drank his juice.
Kaley laughed as she heard a thump.
“Someone call me?” her Dad asked as he came up the stairs wiping his hands on a washcloth pressing a kiss to her head and her Poppas cheek.
“I was more speaking in general, dear, but you two both have to get going, or you’re both going to be late.” Poppa said.
Kaley stood and put her empty plate in the sink, reaching over and grabbing a napkin and a pancake she carefully placed a couple stripes of bacon and a few pieces of eggs inside before drizzling the syrup on top and rolling it up in the pancake and the napkin around it.
“Here, dad eat. But I do have to go. Love you Dad! Love you Poppa!” She called as she handed her dad the breakfast wrap and kissed both parents on the cheek.
“Kaley! Training after school?” her Poppa asked.
Kaley tuned and put her hands on her hips.
“If you’re home, I’ll meet you in the park.” She said and he winced slightly.
Her Poppa walked over to her.
“I know I’ve been working a lot, but I’m trying to make it so I can be home more.” He said hugging her.
She nodded and sighed as she hugged him back.
“I know, doesn’t mean I have to like it.” She said softly.
Her Dad came over and hugged them both before looking at the clock.
“Jason, we have to go if we want to be on time, Kaley I’ll drive you today or you won’t make it.” Her Dad said smiling at them.
Her Poppa laughed.
“With you driving, Tommy, neither of you will make it on time!” Her Poppa said laughing lightly.
“Hey! I’ve gotten better about that!” Her Dad replied.
Her Poppa just smiled and shook his head nudging them both towards the door.
“You both have a chronic problem with not being on time. Now go, I love you both.” Her Poppa called out smiling and waving.
Kaley and her Dad waved back calling responses as they climbed into Tommy’s Jeep.
“All buckled?” Her Dad asked her.
“Yeah! Let’s go Dad!” She said with a nod and smile.
Tommy nodded and put the Jeep in gear bringing it around to face the dirt road leading to their house, he ate the last of the wrap and passed her a green travel cup of coffee his black one already in the cup holder, and hit the gas. The normally forty-minute ride to the school was done in twenty and Kaley leaned over and hugged her Dad as they parked.
“I’ll see you later Dad, I love you.” She said smiling.
“I love you too.” Her Dad said hugging her back.
She opened the door and grabbed her cup and bag, heading straight for the office.
*Two months later*
“He’s your best friend and you haven’t even seen?” Kira asked looking at her.
Kaley choked on her drink, coughing lightly.
“Kira, seriously not here.” She said looking around to see if the person was around.
Kira rolled her eyes.
“He’s not here today. Remember? It’s what you were complaining about all last period.
Kaley felt like she could slap herself.
“Yeah, right. And no, I haven’t, I just enjoy spending time with him. Besides he hasn’t either.” She said sitting back.
Kira sighed.
“Girl, you’re insane! You have too!” she said with a huff.
Kaley shook her head rapidly and waved her hands in front of her face.
“No, no I don’t! I don’t want my Dad’s to kill him!” she said lowering her voice a bit.
Kira sighed again and stood.
“Kay, all I’m saying is don’t let him go, before you know. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go play some music.” She said grabbing her guitar and heading towards the doors.
Kaley stood up quickly tossing her trash.
“I’m coming with you.” She said as she grabbed her bag.
Kira nodded and slung an arm over her shoulder with a big smile.
“That’s my girl!” she said with smile directed at her.
Kaley laughed and nodded, going to pull her jacket from her bag she paused.
“Crap, I must have left it in Winslow’s, I’ll just be a minute you go get started.” Kaley told her friend as she turned and ran back to the school.
Kira laughed as she walked to a picnic table and sat down to start playing, Kaley shook her head at her friend’s laughter but kept running. Getting into the school and turning down the history and science department halls she slid to a stop outside her History teachers’ class and knocked.
“Come in!” was called.
“Hey Mr. Winslow, I was wondering if you saw my jacket? I can’t find it.” She asked ducking into the classroom.
Mr. Winslow paused and then nodded.
“Yes, its still at your seat I believe.” He said offering her a smile.
She sighed in relief and ran over to her chair, grabbing her jacket from where it had gotten stuck in the little basket.
“Thanks Mr. Winslow! I’ll see you tomorrow!” Kaley called as she ran out of the room and back towards the yard.
She had almost made it when Three kids surrounded her.
“What do you want, Benson?” she asked looking towards the obvious leader of the group with a sigh.
He huffed and looked at the other two.
“Look at that guys, she thinks she can talk to me like that!” He said with a cackle.
Kaley sighed and waited, watching them as they laughed. Benson got up into her face.
“What freak? Not entertaining enough for you?” He asked snidely.
Kaley rolled her eyes and placing a hand on the center of his chest and shoved him and his foul breath away from her.
“No, I’m just waiting for you to get bored so I can go back to what I need to do.” She said her voice soft and bored sounding.
That was clearly the wrong thing to say as Benson, in classic bad guy movie fashion, snapped his fingers and the other two jumped grabbing her arms as he punched her in the face. Kaley rolled her eyes and raised an eyebrow at him.
“Is that it? Because, that was rather weak.” She said even as blood dripped from her nose and split lip.
Bensons goons tightened their hold on her, and he came up and punched her a few more times, once in the eye, once on the cheek and once in her stomach, she huffed a bit but didn’t do anything else.
“What freak? Not going to yell out?” Benson cackled.
“No, why would I when none of that hurt?” She returned the question, as she felt her face and stomach throb.
Benson huffed and walked back a few steps back turned to her, before he spun and locked eyes with his buddies and her.
“You just don’t want to worry your freaky fag dad.” He said.
And that was one thing to many. In the blink of an eye, the two holding her where on the ground in various forms of pain. Kaley herself was sat on Benson beating the ever-loving daylights out of him.
“Don’t. You. Ever. Call. My. Dad. That. Again!” she screamed each word punctuated with a punch.
Benson couldn’t even respond, he just kept trying to block the hits, but blood was spraying everywhere, and he looked more like raw-meat then human. Just as she was about to punch him again a pair of hands wrapped around her and pulled her off him. She turned her glare onto the one who had stopped her only to freeze when she came face to face with her Dad, Principle Randall behind him with Kira and two others.
“I think it goes without saying that she has at least a weeks’ worth of detention.” Randall said looking at her Dad.
He nodded a pinched look on his face.
“Kaley, go straight to my room.” He said setting her down on the floor.
“Dad…I...” She tried but her Dad gave her a soft glare.
“Go. Now.” He said firmly.
Kaley nodded and with a mumbled “Yes sir.” She turned and headed back down the hallway, stopping at her Dads room she opened the door and closed it softly, moving to sit at one of the tables, she huffed sitting down. She looked down at the floor, feeling both tired now that the adrenaline was leaving her, and upset that she had upset her Dad by doing what she did. She looked up for a second before dropping her eyes again when she heard the door open. Her Dad pulled a stool from another table and sat in front of her.
“I managed to talk Randall out of suspending you. But you do have Detention starting today for the next two weeks.” He said softly.
Kaley nodded not trusting her voice as she sniffled wincing at the pain in her face. Her Dad sighed and lifted her head, carefully wiping the blood and tears from her face.
“You never fight like that, especially when you don’t know if the other person has had any training. What caused it?” He asked her.
Kaley sniffled thickly.
“He insulted you, and I got angry.” She said softly.
Her Dad smiled gently at her, hugging her tightly.
“Oh sweetheart.” He said softly.
She wrapped her arms around him trying not to stain his jacket.
“I’m sorry Dad, I just…I got so mad. He doesn’t know you! He can’t say that!” She said crying softly.
Tommy rubbed her back and kissed her head.
“I know Sweetheart. I know. But you can’t do that at school, or anywhere. Fighting is never the answer. What’s our rules with training?” Tommy asked her gently.
Kaley sniffled and sighed.
“Martial arts are only for defense never to attack, never escalate a fight.” Kaley said softly.
Tommy nodded.
“Exactly. Although it looks like you tried not to escalate things.” He said softly.
Kaley nodded.
“No, he punched me four times and insulted me a bunch before I even reacted. Not that I really could at first with his buddies holding my arms.” She said agreeing with his statement.
Her dad sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“You know we have to tell your Poppa.” He said gently.
Kaley nodded.
“I know. I really am sorry I got into a fight.” She said just as softly.
He nodded and hugged her again, before pulling her to her feet.
“I know you are.” He said gently.
*a few hours later*
“And here are your delinquents, your personal one included.” Randall said as the group of four walked into the room, and took seats.
“Really, I wanted to go to the museum.” Her Dad said looking at her.
“Good, take them with you educational and boring perfect.” She said walking quickly from the room.
Tommy groaned before turning to face them.
“Alright guys, let’s head out.” He said grabbing his suitcase as the kids grabbed their bags.
Kaley grabbed her bag and walked towards the door. Looking back at the others with a sigh she headed towards the parking lot.
“What’s her problem?” she heard the jock ask, glancing back she saw the one with the computer always present shrug.
“She got into a fist fight, got hurt and got in trouble. Why don’t you be nicer.” Kira said with a huff as she picked up her pace to catch up to Kaley.
“Hey, just let them go. They don’t know me its fine.” Kaley said softly as she threw her bag into the front seat of her Dad’s Jeep.
Kira tossed her bag in the back seat before looking at her.
“Still its not right that they’re talking about you, you’ve got enough stuff going on.” Kira said looking at her.
Kaley shrugged and climbed into the jeep.
“Wait, why does she get the front?” the jock asked again.
Kaley shot him a glare.
“It is my Dad’s Jeep.” She said with no room for argument.
“One fights enough for today isn’t it?” Her dad asked as he climbed in.
She nodded and turned back to the front as the other all got in the back. With that Tommy started the Jeep and took off headed towards the museum. Most of the time spent in silence and when they arrived her dad let out a long sigh.
“Looks like its closed.” He said looking around.
“Oh, well looks like that’s it, detentions over and we should really be getting back.” Kira said turning back towards the Jeep.
Tommy turned and looked at her with that smile on his face that meant he had a plan. Kaley sighed and rolled her sleeves up a bit knowing where this was going to go.
“Alright, how about you guys look around, try to find anything even remotely historic and I’ll cancel detention for the next week. While I try and figure out why the museum is closed.” Tommy said muttering the last bit to himself.
The others groaned even as they took off towards the side of the museum, Kaley hanging back for a second.
“Just don’t break in, I don’t think Poppa wants another call about one of us in trouble today.” She said with a small smile as she moved to follow the others.
Her Dad turned and gave her a smile.
“Don’t worry, I’m just going to look for any information.” He said.
She nodded and turned to the path. After a while of listening to the boy’s bicker, she huffed and walked passed them.
“Hey what’s your rush, sweetheart.” The jock called.
Kaley froze at his words and spun around; in three quick steps she was standing in front of him. She raised a hand and poked his chest backing him up with each poke.
“Listen here, I don’t care who the fuck you are. But my name is Kaley. Get it fucking right or I’ll make what I did to Benson look like child’s play.” She hissed softly.
He put his hands up and nodded. She sighed and turned back around. They kept walking for a few minutes before Ethan the one with the computer spoke up louder than before.
“Fine but don’t look at me when you fall into a sink hole or something.” He called out as Conner the jock walked on ahead.
Conner shook his head when there was a rumble and the ground collapsed out from under them. They landed in a heap at the bottom, except for Kaley who as soon as the ground dropped, she tucked and hit with a roll. She stood up and looked at the others.
“Are you all ok?” she asked them, as they started to stand up.
They nodded and started looking around. After a few seconds Conner looked at them all.
“I’ll climb up the wall, go get Dr. Oliver and be back soon.” He said looking up at the wall.
Kaley snorted as Ethan gave him a look.
“Why are you going?” he asked.
“I’m the most athletic.” Conner said puffing his chest out with pride.
“Alright Mr. Tough guy. You go ahead and climb the wall and when you fall, I’ll tell you why you failed.” Kaley said with a soft snort and a laugh.
Conner shot her a glare as they backed up and he started climbing up the wall. Very quickly he fell back down landing hard on his back. Kaley moved to stand over him.
“One, its old rock. Two, its old sandstone making it weaker than other stones from time and erosion. Three, you’re not the most athletic, you’re just the one who plays sports on a school team. Now can you stand, or did you break yourself?” she asked looking down at the boy still on the ground.
Conner groaned but rolled to his feet standing up.
“Good, now let’s try and find another way out.” She said turning towards the tunnel at the far side of the cave.
“What did you mean, I’m not the most athletic?” Conner asked a little bit later, after gaining Kira’s wrath by calling her babe.
Kaley shot him a look and rolled her shoulders.
“I’ve been doing Martial Arts since I was five. Could I have even made it out of the hole? Maybe. But most probably not. The stone was to old and the ground to wet. But that’s not important. The fact is I am much more athletic then you I just don’t believe in the institution that is school sports.” Kaley said as she slipped her hands into her jacket pockets.
“Oh.” Conner said trailing off.
They walked in silence for a while longer before coming to a cave or a control room. Everyone looked around.
“This must be like the mothership for you dude.” Conner said looking at Ethan.
“Normally id be insulted. But when your right your right and right now, your right.” Ethan said dazedly.
Kaley was to busy looking at the consoles to pay much attention and she huffed out a sigh, she’d know these monitors anywhere.
“Guys look!” Kira called.
That drew everyone’s attention to a central raised pillar, where four stones sat. the four of them walked down to it and looked at the stones that were there.
“What do you think they are?” Kaley asked looking at the to her grey stones.
The others shrugged and Conner reached out to grab one by him, Ethen tossed his hand out.
“Dude what are you doing?” He asked looking at Conner.
Conner shrugged and looked at the other three.
“Look I’ve been in enough Science classes to know those things are major prehistoric.” He said.
Kira bit her lip.
“I hate to agree with him, trust me I do. But I’ve already missed one practice so.” She said reaching forward.
Kaley took a deep breath and reached out too.
“I’ve got another week beyond you guys anyways, but I can’t miss study sessions with Trent and training with Poppa because you’re nervous, Ethan.” Kaley said softly.
With all three of them against him Ethan nodded and together they took the four gems that sat there.
“What are they?” Conner asked voicing the question again after the gems glowed slightly.
Ethan shrugged looking at his gem.
“I don’t know, I can get on the computer later and look them up?” He suggested.
Conner faked a gasp.
“You, on the computer? Let me put on my surprised face!” He said voice heavy with sarcasm.
Kira turned and walked away.
“Hey where are you going?” Kaley called looking at her.
She turned back and raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to see what kind of freak lives in a place like this.” She said as she turned back to walking.
The boys nodded and headed after her. Kaley taking an extra second listening in the silence. Above her she could hear footsteps and soft talking. She shook her head.
“Hey you coming?” Ethan called as he stuck his head back around the corner.
She nodded and moved to follow them.
“Yeah, just wanted to make sure we didn’t trigger alarms or anything.” She said as they walked down the path.
They figured a way out and started back through the forest when they started to be followed by weird creatures. With a nod they all took off running through the forest, Kaley and Conner leading the pack with Ethan next followed by Kira, who fell in a ditch. The others doubled back and helped her up. As they where running Kira fell again and they were to far away to do anything. Kaley turned and jumped up kicking off a tree to try and get closer, but Kira let out a loud piercing screech. Kaley landed in a crouch near her and covered her ears. They all decided to ask questions later and got Kira back up as they ran back through the forest. Kaley turned and got separated from the others.
“Not good.” She said as she went into a guarding stance seeing creatures all around her.
Without a thought as the monsters came at her she jumped and dodged their hits, skidding across the ground she flipped seeing the monsters close in on her she threw her hands up. Two large tornado strength winds flew from her hands and knocked them back away from her, she jumped up and looked at her hands for a second before looking around smiling and shaking her head.
“Time to play.” She said throwing her hands out again, this time lighting shot from one hand and the other caused branches and things to slam down into the enemies.
“That was so cool!” Kaley cried out with a grin as she took off running to try and find the others.
She cleared the forest and found Conner.
“Oh, goodie it’s you, any idea where the others are at?” she asked.
Conner shook his head.
“No, they must still be in there.” Conner said.
Kaley looked back at the forest.
“With those things.” Kaley said nodding at the monsters on the ground.
With that they ran back into the forest finding Kira and Ethan unharmed and just finding each other.
“That was.” Ethan said looking down at his arms.
“Incredible?” Kaley suggested.
“Freaky?” Kira said.
“Cool.” Conner said with a nod.
Ethan nodded.
“All of the above.” He said in amazement.
Kaley laughed and shook her head as the group started back towards the road.
“We don’t tell anyone. Right?” Conner said looking at the rest of them.
They all nodded just as they found the road.
“Hey guys, any luck?” Tommy asked looking at them.
They all glanced at each other, shaking their heads.
“No, no luck.” Conner said speaking for all of them.
“What about you Dad?” Kaley asked looking at him.
He shook his head.
“No, come on. We should get back.” He said and they all headed back to the car.
After a while they were back in town and dropping the others off.
“Dad wait! Please? He wasn’t in school today.” Kaley said pointing to Trent.
Her Dad nodded and parked the car.
“Make it quick, ok?” He said looking at her.
She nodded and unbuckled her belt as she ran from the Jeep.
“Trent!” Kaley called running towards him.
He turned and looked at her, with a smile. Kaley wrapped her arms around him.
“Are you ok? Where were you? Why weren’t you in school?” She asked pulling back slightly.
Trent laughed and shook his head.
“I’m ok. I was home. I woke up and wasn’t feeling great you know how my allergies are.” Trent said looking just passed her.
Kaley’s mind flashed back to what Kira had said earlier, and she looked down at the ground.
“I probably won’t be able to make our study sessions for the next little while.” She said softly.
Trent shot her a look.
“What? Why not?” He asked her.
She shrugged and looked up giving him the first proper look at her face with the bruised cheek, busted lip and slightly swollen eye and nose.
“I got into a little fight today at school.” She said looking passed him.
Trent reached up and ran a hand gently across her cheek.
“Little fight?” He asked.
“You should see Benson.” She said with a dry humorless laugh.
Trent sucked in a breath and pulled her in close.
“You ok?” He asked.
She shook her head.
“Nah, I hurt. I have detention for two weeks, Dads disappointed and I’m sure Poppa is too. Just been a long day.” She said softly.
Trent nodded and looked passed her.
“Hey, looks like your Dad wants to go.” He said.
She turned and waved to her Dad before turning back and nodding.

Okay okay okay- Kirishima, Denki, or Sero (because he needs some love) with an S/O who loves baking. One day they’re helping them bake and suddenly it goes from their S/O smearing frosting on their cheek to a full blown w a r. There’s batter on the ceiling, the walls, the cabinets, it’s everywhere. And obviously it’s on them and their S/O. And they’re just absolutely drink off of happiness as they’re giggling like idiots.
This is adorable :0
warnings: bit of play fighting, (please don’t actual do this in the kitchen, it’s not safe y’all) some minor swearing
-Kirishima Ejiro-
He’s so supportive about your baking, like he actually understands how difficult baking is and appreciates all the work you put into it
He thinks it’s sweet that you always bake for everyone’s birthdays or during stressful times to cheer everyone up
He sees how happy you are talking about it so he does his best to learn the baking terms you use often so he knows what you’re talking about. If you ever try to apologize for rambling on, he’ll insist that he likes hearing you talk about baking (and he loves how happy you look too)
Sometimes he brings your pastries to school and if anyone asks where he got them, he excitedly tells them about you
He politely asks if he can help you bake and is super excited when you let him. He’d been wanting to bake with you for awhile, but he hadn’t wanted to seem like he was imposing on your space or anything
The first few pastries you made together were really cute :)
But then… there was the time it didn’t go so well
Kirishima was feeling playful and dotted a bit of frosting on your face, just trying to be cute, you know?
To return the favor, you “accidentally” smeared some frosting onto him
And across the counter he flicked a bit of batter at you, a mischievous smirk slipping up his features
And then it completely escalated out of control
At one point Kirishima was using a pan as a shield and you had big spoon covered in frosting as a sword
You dashed around the kitchen, ducking behind cupboard doors, jumping onto the counter, (I have the high ground!) and such shenanigans
Until you spotted the rest of the class and Aizawa just outside the dorms
You both froze, looked around the kitchen, and shared a look of oh shit
Kirishima tried to clean up anyway, switching back and forth from trying to wipe off the counters to blotting away the mess on your face, insisting that maybe Sero and Kaminari could stall Aizawa while you two while you cleaned, and then maybe Momo’s quirk could help….
Nope. Aizawa saw the whole mess. Cleaning duty was not fun
-Kaminari Denki-
Denki is literally an endless pit when it comes to food, like he’s always down to eat, so he absolutely adores your baking
Like he’ll step into the dorms, smell your latest recipe, and sprint to the kitchen calling dibs because he is the boyfriend of the lovely baker
Baking is actually how the two of you became closer, because Denki always helped you bake, and somehow managed to be enough of a sweetheart (and use enough dumb baking pick up lines) to win you over
He’s always an excited puppy when it comes to getting helping you bake, even if he isn’t too good with all the fancy techniques and terms
Warning: don’t fluster him too much when he’s holding something electrical, or he will end up short circuiting it
Prepare for endless flirting and pick up lines related to baking
“I really knead you in my life, you know.”
He got you guys a cute pair of matching aprons
Of course, sometimes you two make a bit of a mess, which is inevitable with how playful Denki is
It all starts with Denki plopping a dot of frosting on your nose
So, obviously, you had to get him back, right? You flicked a spoon full of frosting on his cheek and he laughed and smeared it, trying to actually taste some of the sweet fluff
And it goes back and forth until before you know it, you two have completely forgotten about baking and are running around the kitchen counter flicking frosting or batter at one another
Denki had the hand mixer and was spraying batter everywhere
He chased you around the kitchen in a fit of giggles and eventually Denki had you cornered at his mercy, threatening to cover you in batter and tickle you, and your only chance of escape was to give him kisses
You, of course, obliged :)
Which is how, an hour later, you and Denki, with messy hair and what looked suspiciously like a hickey on your neck, presented the rest of your class with cute desserts--just a bit smaller and with a bit less frosting since at least half of it was now splattered throughout the entire kitchen
At least cleaning duty with Denki is fun since you can sing dumb songs and dance around with no braincells together :)
-Sero Hanta-
Absolutely loves getting to eat whatever you bake because he swears he’s never tasted anything so good
He tries his best to help you in the kitchen but… he’s a wee bit clueless
Like you’re both really proud of him if he can get through an entire recipe without mixing up teaspoons and tablespoons, or getting some type of conversion messed up
Usually he’s more content to sit in the kitchen while you bake, talking to you with some music playing and only joining in on the easier parts
But one time, Sero decided to try and help you with the entire recipe
He mainly messed around and joked with you
Eventually, you gave Sero a frosting mustache, both of you laughing as you struggled to give him the perfect mustache
After Sero did a few dumb things with his mustache, namely doing some accents and kissing you to smear some frosting on you, he insisted on giving you a frosting mustache
“Oh no, Sero,” you said, glancing at him over the bowl you were mixing. “The mustache looks far better on you than me.”
Sero leaned against the counter, a mischievous light in his eyes. “Hmm, not a mustache, alright. A full beard of frosting? A goatee? Oh, how about a uni-brow!”
You absolutely refused them all, oblivious to him creeping closer with a small bowl of frosting until the very last second
You dived away from him and the chase began
You ran around the kitchen (and maybe a bit into the living room oops) trying to escape him, who was innocently saying he just wanted to give you a little frosting make over
Yeah. No thank you
Eventually he started using his quirk and you started flinging batter back at him
Then Sero caught you with his tape, but before he could give you a nice frosting beard and uni-brow, Aizawa and the rest of the class walked in
At least Sero is a good cleaning duty buddy :’)

okay, but mirio with a crush/friend that’s in 1a? like the reader is lowkey a bit more shy and quiet and everyone thinks their dating.
I SQUEALED, I LOVE IT 😭🥰
🤍🤍🤍💛💛💛💙💙💙💛💛💛🤍🤍🤍
The first you saw this boy, he was at the front of your class, smiling, and you made eye contact. Your eyes widened, and you forced your eyes closed gripping at your skirt and you ducked your head. The words leaving his mouth didn’t make it to you, but his laugh, it was more than enough to make you blush and avert your gaze to anything other than the boy in question. Now, being this way, wasn’t much different from how you usually acted. You completely collapsed on the sideline the moment his clothes fell off when he challenged your class, luckily your stoic friend to be questioned was there to help you stand up.
You didn’t dare approach the grounds where he took your class out one by one, you were amazed by his strength and the story he told you. Inspired really but, the shell you were in held you in tight and you weren’t exactly determined to break out, so like a starved man to a king crab, Mirio took a liking to your shy personality and wanted to help you the same way he’d helped his friend Amajiki. Slowly he approached you outside of class or in luck with a smile and wave, and sheepishly you’d wave and smiled with a whisper of a greeting back. It wants until one day you found him while taking out the trash.
*********
“Hey!” I screamed and fell back the bags of trash I was just hugging fell scattering on the floor as I struggled to breath normally looking at the wall to see the face or Mirio, “Sorry if I scared ya!” He stepped out I sighed.
“Oh, it’s fine,” I whispered looking down feeling heat spread to my cheeks I install felt vulnerable.
“Let me help you!” I watched as he picked up some of the bags I’d struggled to carry.
“Ah, thank you.” I nodded and stood up, he definitely still towered me, we walked in silence, I was a bit fidgety, until he spoke up.
“L/n?” I turned to see him staring at me already, I snapped my head away.
“Y-yeah?” I asked looking down at the floor.
“Let me walk you to class tomorrow, I’d like to get to know more about your quirk. You remind me of a friend and I think I know exactly how I can help you! But I don’t have much time so the morning are better if your free?” I blinked a few times, feeling the heat on my cheeks intenseify.
“I-uh,” you shook you head, “y-yeah, thatd be great.” You lied, honestly, you don’t how great this would be, Mirio Togata, a BOY, you struggled to talk to boys you didn’t like now him? Someone who you think you might fancy? ‘This is gonna be terrible if can’t get a word out!’
“Great! I’ll come by the dorms tomorrow and then we can head to breakfast!” He smield as we finally stoped and threw the bags into the large bins.
“Yeah,” I nodded with a smile, “I’ll see you then.”
“Don’t say bye now (l/n), I still have to walk you back to the dorms! What kind of hero would I be if I let a lady walk herself back in the dark.” He smiled brightly, and I felt like I should’ve shirked my eyes, the sun, he definitely shines brighter than the sun.
We made our way silently to the dorm buildings in silence, I fidgeted with my fingers and the hem of my skirt, I was dying both internally and externally. We stopped at the door and I sighed, and turned to Mirio, he smiled and I smiled, I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING A THANK YOU AT LEAST DO IT NOW COWARD!
He turned to walk away and I screamed “Mirio!” He turned around a bir shocked looking, “Thank you for walking with me...” I whispered and could hardly manage to look up at him.
His face changed to a gentle smile, “No problem, I enjoyed our talk,” he gave a small wave, “I’ll see you in the morning (l/n).”
“Y/n,” I mumbled. “Hm?” He hummed, “Call me y/n.”
“Alright then y/n,” he faced me completely and tilted his head closing his eyes as he smiled, “I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.”
I gave nod and a small awkward wave as he laughed and turned to leave, sadly I didn’t know I was being watched. I enetered and let out a heavy shaky breath, that was a lot of effort. I made it to my dorm door and was stopped by Minas Pink hand grabbing my wrist, “Tell me everything.”
***********
I got ready in the morning, having been kept up all night by Mina as she squeezed everything out of me, my feelings, what happened, what I was going to, what I was going to wear, I don’t exactly have much of choice considering it’s STILL a school uniform. I made my way down the building to the front door where Mina was standing with my bag.
“Don’t take your bag! Carry a book! If he’s a real gentleman he’ll offer to carry it! I’ll take your bag for you!” She shoved a my English book and notebook into my hands, I felt myself start to shake.
“Mina!” I whined, “It’s nothing! I promise!” I felt like crying.
“Just try it please! Entertain my ships, Kaminari isn’t doing to good with my plans pLEASE!” She begged.
“Okay,” I gave in quickly and took the books rushing out before she started crying.
I ran straight into Mirio, “so hard,” I mumbled feeling plastered against his chest. He hands touched my shoulder and moved me back a little, “Are you okay y/n?”
I flushed and looked down, “Oh! Yeah.” I mumbled, why did I say my first name yesterday?!
“Well let’s get going then!” We started to walk and it wasn’t long until it came, “Do you need help? You don’t look to comfortable carrying those!” He said and took my books befor I answered, “thank you, my bag, was... being held hostage so I ended up carrying my books this morning.”
He laughed and I smiled, “That’s a weird one.” I smield slightly feeling a bit comfortable.
The weeks passed slowly, every morning meeting with Mirio, he’d carry my books we’d eat breakfast and talk briefly about my quirk, and that lasted the first day, after that he just started talking to me the rest of the week telling me stories about himself during breakfast and the walk to class. I found myself smiling meow openly and being able to look at him, every now and then I still looked away and get flustered at just his bright smile. That wa sinful one day I bumped into someone while we walked to my class.
“Watch where your going idiot!” I stepped behind Mirio and held his hand with both of my knees weak and shaking.
“Mirio,” I whispered tears stinging my eyes as the guy got closer glaring at me as I moved further behind Mirio.
“Hey!” He smacked a hand on the shoulder of the guy, “We don’t wanna cause any trouble! I’m sorry my friend here bumped into you.” He smiled and the guy just scoffed.
“Whatever just make your girlfriend watches where she walks.” He turned and left and I sighed still squeezing his hand.
“Thanks Mirio.” I didn’t want to let go.
“No problem, now let’s get you to class, but you should watch where your going.” He said and brought his free hand to pay my head.
We got to class, my knees still a little weak, as he stood by the door, he waved at Midoriya and I didn’t let go of his hand, I clung, I couldn’t fight the feeling of comfort I got from holding his hand. He pulled me to the door, “Clas is starting soon you should get to your seat.”
He smiled and I nodded looking up at him, another cliche blush on my cheeks, “Right,” I nodded. “I’ll come by for lunch.” He called as he leaned into the classroom and disappeared. I felt the stares boring into me before Mina said it, “SO IS IT OFFICIAL?”
I tilted my head, “What?”
“You WERE HOLDING HIS HAND!” She shook me by the shoulders.
“It’s kinda obvious,” Denki shrugged in his seat, “What’s obvious?” I asked.
“That’s you two are dating dumbass.” My face went blank at Bakugo’s words.
“Dating?” I asked and looked at Mina, “YES!” She screamed.
“No, were not I j-” and class started.
***********
For the next two months I found myself being freed from the shell that held my captive, I smield more and laughed with Mirio, and my heart, always felt calm and content hearing his terribly cheesy jokes, but it didn’t change the fact that when it came to talking I was a mess, I couldn’t make eye contact and I speaking became more than just a chore.
But here we are, walking the trail behind the school around evening, “hey y/n, you’re a girl.”
“Mm, yes, I am.” I answered looking ahead at the sunset, “So how do girls like getting love confessions? In public? private? Letter? Out loud? Because there’s this girl, I didn’t know when, but I think I fell in love with her.” My heart sank, it’s probably Nejire... “We started off as friends, and I don’t know when but know when I talk to her it’s the highlight of my day, her smile, her laugh.” Definitely sounds like Nejire... “I don’t know how she does it but now I feel like if she leaves my life, it’ll be like the sun will never coming back up.”
“Oh, well,” I shrugged feeling a bit bitter, “Most girls like letters usually in private, something to keep, but honestly, even with the way I am, I’d love to get a vocal confession infront of someone, I feel like it shows their not afraid to say it or prove it.” I shrugged.
“Huh, that’s great advice,” he pat my head and smield, “I’ll keep that in mind.
***********
Another month passed and Mirio kept me company on the walks to school, class, lunch, breakfast, dorms and everywhere else he could squeeze in. The time we spent together started to add up and I can see why people thought we were dating especially my class that saw all of this happening, as this point I couldn’t deny it, I could but they wouldn’t believe me anyways. I sigehd day dreaming about what a love confession would feel coming from someone who genuinely meant it.
I tried to pay attention in class but I couldn’t, Midnight definitely caught on to this having called me out three times. Each time I was scolded and teased by Mina about day dreaming of my ‘boyfriend,’ sadly, I couldn’t say he was. I was deflated, defeated feeling when I watched him walk to my class with Nejire, beside him, “y/n! I hope you don’t mind Nejire is joining us!” He smield and I smield back feeling weak.
“No problem, the more the merrier right?” I lied.
We spent lunch eating, they talked and I just poked around at my food, I didn’t give much thought on the conversion until I noticed Mirio stepping into his chair and then the table. He smield and got everyone’s attention before he started, “I want everyone to know this!” He screamed.
“Right now, I’m about to tell the most beautiful girl in my eyes that I love her I want everyone to know that I’m not afraid or ashamed to do it!” He pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket, Nejire looked up at him stars in her eyes. I sulked looked down at my food, feeling a familiar sting in my nose.
“Every morning I wake up and the first thing I do is think about your smile, and your laugh, you always seem full of life and I love that about you. The way fidget when your anxious and the way you cling to me when your anxious or nervous always make me feel like I could be so much better than hero. Our endless conversations and the time we’ve spent together never leave me. When I always feel like I’m at my lowest or to the point of defeat I remember your smile and encouraging words and I know I have so much more to fight for. I love the way you smile, the way your eyes shine when you let the passion flow. This might be embarrassing especially infront of everyone here but I wouldn’t do it any other way, I want everyone to know how much I love you, and care for you, so,” he paused, “Nejire,” I felt the tears drop and looked straight down, I heard Mina gasping and then curing along with a few recognizable mumbles from my class mates.
“Please move so I can’t get to y/n.” I got whiplash form how fast I looked up at him, he saw the tears in my eyes his face softened, he whispered a she jumped down, “y/n?” He took my face in his hands thumbs wiping the tears, “Will you be my girlfriend.”
I smield as tears feel and his eyes widened, “Mirio,” a shaky breath, “Id love to.” He smield and crushed me in a hug, I hugged his chest and felt him kiss the top of my head.
“It’s okay,” he whispered, “you can cry if you want to, I’ll be here for you always.” He rubbed my back and I just smiled against his chest letting the tears fall.
“I don’t know when I fell for you, but I know, I’d never change it.” He whispered.
“I love you,” I mumbled, “and your cheesy jokes.”
He laughed and I could feel smield as he squeezed a bit harder, “good because I never run out.”

Fahrenheit 451 Quotes
“Let you alone! That's all very well, but how can I leave myself alone? We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?” And then he shut up, for he remembered last week and the two white stones staring up at the ceiling and the pump-snake with the probing eye and the two soap-faced men with the cigarettes moving in their mouths when they talked. But that was another Mildred, that was a Mildred so deep inside this one, and so bothered, really bothered, that the two women had never met. He turned away.
Once, books appealed to a few people, here, there, everywhere. They could afford to be different. The world was roomy. But then the world got full of eyes and elbows and mouths. Double, triple, quadruple population. Films and radios, magazines, books levelled down to a sort of paste pudding norm, do you follow me?”
Do you see? Out of the nursery into the college and back to the nursery; there's your intellectual pattern for the past five centuries or more.
Politics? One column, two sentences, a headline! Then, in mid-air, all vanishes! Whirl man's mind around about so fast under the pumping hands of publishers, exploiters, broadcasters, that the centrifuge flings off all unnecessary, time-wasting thought!”
School is shortened, discipline relaxed, philosophies, histories, languages dropped, English and spelling gradually neglected, finally almost completely ignored. Life is immediate, the job counts, pleasure lies all about after work. Why learn anything save pressing buttons, pulling switches, fitting nuts and bolts?”
More cartoons in books. More pictures. The mind drinks less and less. Impatience.
Surely you remember the boy in your own school class who was exceptionally 'bright,' did most of the reciting and answering while the others sat like so many leaden idols, hating him. And wasn't it this bright boy you selected for beatings and tortures after hours? Of course it was. We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal.
Coloured people don't like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don't feel good about Uncle Tom's Cabin. Burn it. Someone's written a book on tobacco and cancer of the lungs? The cigarette people are weeping? Burn the book. Serenity, Montag. Peace, Montag. Take your fight outside. Better yet, into the incinerator.
You can't rid yourselves of all the odd ducks in just a few years. The home environment can undo a lot you try to do at school. That's why we've lowered the kindergarten age year after year until now we're almost snatching them from the cradle.
If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. If the Government is inefficient, top-heavy, and tax-mad, better it be all those than that people worry over it.
Cram them full of non-combustible data, chock them so damned full of 'facts' they feel stuffed, but absolutely 'brilliant' with information. Then they'll feel they're thinking, they'll get a sense of motion without moving. And they'll be happy, because facts of that sort don't change. Don't give them any slippery stuff like philosophy or sociology to tie things up with. That way lies melancholy. Any man who can take a TV wall apart and put it back together again, and most men can nowadays, is happier than any man who tries to slide-rule, measure, and equate the universe, which just won't be measured or equated without making man feel bestial and lonely.
And the second?” “Leisure.” “Oh, but we've plenty of off-hours.” “Off-hours, yes. But time to think? If you're not driving a hundred miles an hour, at a clip where you can't think of anything else but the danger, then you're playing some game or sitting in some room where you can't argue with the fourwall televisor. Why? The televisor is 'real.' It is immediate, it has dimension. It tells you what to think and blasts it in. It must be, right. It seems so right. It rushes you on so quickly to its own conclusions your mind hasn't time to protest, 'What nonsense!'”
“Jesus God,” said Montag. “Every hour so many damn things in the sky! How in hell did those bombers get up there every single second of our lives! Why doesn't someone want to talk about it? We've started and won two atomic wars since 1960. Is it because we're having so much fun at home we've forgotten the world? Is it because we're so rich and the rest of the world's so poor and we just don't care if they are? I've heard rumours; the world is starving, but we're well-fed. Is it true, the world works hard and we play? Is that why we're hated so much?
Lord, how they've changed it — in our 'parlours' these days. Christ is one of the 'family' now. I often wonder it God recognizes His own son the way we've dressed him up, or is it dressed him down? He's a regular peppermint stick now, all sugar-crystal and saccharine when he isn't making veiled references to certain commercial products that every worshipper absolutely needs.”
The same infinite detail and awareness could be projected through the radios and televisors, but are not. No, no, it's not books at all you're looking for! Take it where you can find it, in old phonograph records, old motion pictures, and in old friends; look for it in nature and look for it in yourself. Books were only one type of receptacle where we stored a lot of things we were afraid we might forget. There is nothing magical in them at all. The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us.
"Number one: Do you know why books such as this are so important? Because they have quality. And what does the word quality mean? To me it means texture. This book has pores. It has features. This book can go under the microscope. You'd find life under the glass, streaming past in infinite profusion. The more pores, the more truthfully recorded details of life per square inch you can get on a sheet of paper, the more 'literary' you are. That's my definition, anyway. Telling detail. Fresh detail. The good writers touch life often. The mediocre ones run a quick hand over her. The bad ones rape her and leave her for the flies.
“So now do you see why books are hated and feared? They show the pores in the face of life. The comfortable people want only wax moon faces, poreless, hairless, expressionless.
Only if the third necessary thing could be given us. Number one, as I said, quality of information. Number two: leisure to digest it. And number three: the right to carry out actions based on what we learn from the inter-action of the first two.
They're Caesar's praetorian guard, whispering as the parade roars down the avenue, 'Remember, Caesar, thou art mortal.' Most of us can't rush around, talking to everyone, know all the cities of the world, we haven't time, money or that many friends. The things you're looking for, Montag, are in the world, but the only way the average chap will ever see ninety-nine per cent of them is in a book.
Don't ask for guarantees. And don't look to be saved in any one thing, person, machine, or library. Do your own bit of saving, and if you drown, at least die knowing you were headed for shore.”
The old man nodded. “Those who don't build must burn. It's as old as history and juvenile delinquents.”

One For All || Dani and Bex (ft. Kyle)
TIMING: Concurrent with this PARTIES: @surmamort @inbextween and @darkh0wl SUMMARY: While Dani and Bex hang around campus waiting for Kyle, they realize that someone else is waiting for them. CONTENT: Gun use, Suicidal ideation, Death
Bex groaned as she rifled through her bag. It wasn’t here. The one book she needed. She’d left it back in the classroom, hadn’t she? She looked sideways at Dani, who was sitting idly on the bench across from her, before back towards the building. A few moments away from her wasn’t going to hurt, right? There was no way Frank would come after her inside the school during the day, right? The common area outside was only bustling with a few other summer class kids, enjoying the sun that had been gracing the sky the last couple of days. It was unusual for this much sun this time of the year, there was usually so much more rain. Bex remembered how much rain there had been just a week ago, and how that rain had saved Mina’s life. Had saved her own life. She squinted up at it before sighing and standing up. “I’ll be right back,” she said to Dani, then added on, “I just forgot one of my books in the classroom. Promise I’ll be real quick. You can stay here and keep our spots so no one steals our prime real estate.” It was the only table that was perfectly positioned under one of the trees to lend itself full shade no matter what time of the day. She didn’t wait for much of an answer before slipping away, heading towards the school, making sure to take the most populated route possible.
What Bex didn’t know was that she wasn’t the target this time.
The two hunters had been watching them all day. They’d been told the shorter girl would be alone. Dani was her name. Frank hadn’t given them all the details, but he had told them she wasn’t human. One had a pistol with silver bullets drawn, but shook their head.  Not beast. The other had an iron dagger, who also could not feel a thing. So, undead, they supposed. This would make things more difficult. Still, the two drew to the shadows as they rounded on the girl, now alone at the bench. The beast hunter, a sturdy, dark-skinned girl, aimed her gun. The first shot was a warning. The second went straight for its mark.
Dani felt as though things were falling into place. It had taken a while to feel that way, especially in regards to her moms. Their reluctance to provide more information left Dani mostly frustrated, and though she knew the gist; her father had been killed in the sake of not wanting to torture fae, she knew there was more behind those documents that the professor had sealed up. But she’d been practically barred from digging further into exactly what kind of research he’d been a part of. Though neither Jeanette or Lauren said it, she felt sure that the professor had been warned. It was a feeling rather than full of certainty, but it was there. It was getting easier to pull herself out of her thoughts of betrayal, and though the anger simmered, there were distractions. Like Bex. When her friend spoke, Dani looked over for a brief moment before dog-earing the manga she held. “Are you sure?” The hunter worried her lower lip as Bex insisted that she’d be alright. She felt the hair on the back of her neck stand as her friend disappeared into the building. The brunette set her book face down and stuck one leg over the opposite side of the bench, eyes trained on the doorway for Bex to come back through.
A few moments had passed and Dani nearly missed the sound of urgent footsteps arriving from just behind her. She looked over her shoulder just in time to hear the gunshot ring. The second came fast, but Dani managed to dive to the side, the feeling of rocks scraping her palms. She got to her feet immediately, flicking her wrist to unsheathe the dagger in her hand. “What the fuck? What the fuck--” She managed to two step to the side as another shot rang. “What do you think you’re doing?!” Dani yelled as she spared a quick glance over her shoulder towards the doors. Where the hell was Bex?
It was strange, the beast hunter thought. Why would an undead need to dodge bullets? It didn’t matter, they fell in line behind their warden friend, who took out three small daggers and launched them, one after the other, at the girl. He wanted to see how nimble she might be. Dodging bullets was easy and smooth when you had super hearing or super strength. Judging by her standing in daylight, she was either a zombie, or those special types of vampires his friend had tried telling him about once. He’d had no interest in them, though, and had long since forgotten their names. He didn’t wait too much longer before charging directly at the girl. They didn’t need to say anything, they weren’t here to answer her questions. They were here to cut off her head.
Bex was taking the steps by two-- a bad idea, considering the pain in her side and her leg-- when she heard the shots echo. She’d never heard real gunshots before, but they had such a distinct sound, she knew right away. “Dani?” she said, pausing, stumbling. Gripped the railing, before whirling herself around when a second-- a third-- shot sounded. Dani was shouting, yelling at someone. Bex leapt down the stairs-- oh, bad idea-- knees buckling as she struggled to stay standing and fling herself down the hallway and back outside again. “Dani!?” she called out, watching as two shadows advanced on her. One had a gun. One had a gun. “DANI WATCH OUT!” Magic reaching beyond the distance between them, fear and anger mixing like blood and oil, volatile. It touched the sidewalk, and the bench they’d been on, and the trees as Bex ran towards the three hunters. She hadn’t expected the one with the gun to turn and fire at her. She yelped as it grazed her arm and sent her careening to the ground, hands covering her head.
The knives shot out, too, and Dani felt one slice into her forearm. She suppressed the scream that bubbled in her throat, leaving it in. She couldn’t be sure if it had hit an artery, not when she had to avoid two others. She managed to avoid being sliced by the remaining, but had little time to collect her thoughts. The hunter heard Bex before she saw her. “Go back inside!” Dani screamed back at her friend. When the hunters pushed forward, she felt fear grip her heart. What if they went after Bex? Was this why they were here? Were they witch hunters? She could tell they were hunters from the weapons they carried, but why were they coming after her? One look over her shoulder, and Dani saw Bex on the ground, blood pooling at the small injury in her arm.
It was red, the anger that the hunter felt. It prickled and vibrated in her sternum. It was hard to ignore, the way that it gripped her. Dani hated that Bex continuously got hurt, and for what? Why should her friend continue to suffer?! “Back the fuck up!” Dani shouted again, moving towards Bex who laid on the ground, arms over her head. “Did you fucking hear me?!” She shouted again as the figures continued towards her. She stood in front of Bex, guarding her with her own body. If they wanted to get to Bex, they’d have to kill her first.
The warden kept his eyes trained on the target, watching her falter when a blade sliced her arm. But, soon, she was racing to put her body between them and the girl crumpled on the ground. He hissed at his companion, “We’re not supposed to hurt anyone else!” To which the beast hunter replied-- “We don’t know what any of these people are! She could be with her, for all we know!” She holstered the gun, however, because guns did naught against the undead and she pulled out her engraved, silver dagger. It wouldn’t hurt the undead, but it was refined enough to cut a head clean off. “Let’s just get this over with before someone else shows up!” she growled, and lunged, swinging the blade in front of her. The warden followed suit, ducking in behind her, honing in on the girl on the ground. Frank hadn’t told them about Bex would be here, they didn’t know any better.
When she was sure there were no more gunshots coming her way, Bex rolled to her side and slapped her hand over the wound on her shoulder. Blood pooled over her fingers. She was so goddamn tired of bleeding everywhere, all the time. Of people thinking her life meant so little that they could just hurt her and keep hurting her and not stop. The anger that built inside of her was as red as her blood. Her teeth clenched so hard together she felt her jaw crack. A wind began to whip up in the area surrounding them. Someone was coming at her, but the ground beneath them buckled. Bex was an expert at disturbing the ground, now, whether it was intentional or not. It caved in and swallowed the boy’s foot, and he smacked into the side of the crater hard, his knife skidding a few feet away from his hand. Bex looked at him with so much hate in her eyes, he shuddered. “Leave me ALONE!” she shouted, and it reverberated in everyone around her, inside their heads. “LEAVE US ALONE!”
We’re not supposed to hurt anyone else! Dani’s brows creased. What the hell did that mean? They weren’t after Bex? Dani saw the way that the two hunters looked at her. Their gaze was not unknown. It was familiar, and she knew it like the back of her hand. They were here to do a job, and she was said job. She wasn’t sure what kind of misunderstanding could have led to them believing that she was anything that deserved hunting, but there was no time to reason with them, not when they were pushing in. One hunter was hard enough, but two? Especially one with a gun? She and her dagger were unmatched. The purpose, she knew, was not to kill them, but to keep them down long enough for them to be dealt with. She knew that, so why did she feel so much anger? Why did it course through her, spinning and spooling in the pit of her stomach, forming like electricity across her skin?
Before she could react fully to the pair of hunters, the ground beneath her began to quake. She felt it tremble, and then earth jutted up, creating a hold on one of the hunter’s feet. Dani blinked away the surprise. There wasn’t enough time to ask questions. “Bex,” Dani said, not turning around to look at her friend, “are you okay? It didn’t go through, right?” She continued to stand in front of the witch, her own dagger still drawn. The blade that had been stuck into her arm was covered in blood now. Every move she made stung. She could feel it burrowed into her flesh, but it wasn’t something she could focus on, not right now. “Why the fuck are you attacking us?” She figured they were past reasoning, but she needed to know, especially when the shock of the earth swallowing one of the hunter’s feet was so fresh, leaving a moment to wonder.
The warden struggled against the ground breaking underneath him and trying to swallow him. The other girl was a spellcaster, and that was dangerous. They needed to cut their losses or make this quick. If they could subdue the spellcaster, then they could easily take out the undead girl. His eyes flicked to his companion. “I’ll take the spellcaster, you just concentrate on the target, okay?” The beast hunter nodded and turned her gaze to the girl who had put her body between them and the spellcaster. Her eyes narrowed. She didn’t understand what was going on, but she didn’t need to. As a hunter, she’d learned to not ask questions. That wasn’t the way of things. If there was a monster, they killed it. The girl on the ground was screaming at them, and the undead girl was slinging questions at them. They didn’t have time for this, even as she felt her head begin to ring, blood rushing to her ears. “Why the fuck do you think, monster?” she hissed back, before jumping straight at the girl again. If she could go for the legs, cut off her ability to move, then taking her head would be easier.
It was happening again. Bex was watching again as someone she cared about was being hurt. Everyone around her always got hurt. Because of her. Because of her family, her magic, her stupid decisions. They were attacking Dani because of her. Bex scrambled to stand up. Anger was coursing through her but she couldn’t do anything. She couldn’t. If she used magic, her mother would know and things would get worse. She reached for Dani, watching as the girl with the knife lunged at her. “Let’s just go!” she called out, tugging on Dani’s arm. “Please, let’s just--” but they were both lunging now. Bex let go of Dani and tried to duck, but the boy caught her off guard and tackled her to the ground, her back hitting hard. Stars blotted her vision as air left her lungs. She kicked and struggled, but he was pressing down on her neck, cutting off her air supply. She didn’t want to use magic. She couldn't, she couldn’t. She reached for Dani. Her anger reached, too. She didn’t want it anymore. She didn’t want this life anymore.
Dani balked as the girl called her a monster. What the fuck was happening? Before she could continue to ask her questions, the two hunters were bounding towards them again. The space was closing in and Dani felt her heart in her throat. Her own dagger dropped to the ground as she instinctively reached up. “NO!” Dani screamed as the boy lunged towards Bex. Dani ignored the second hunter and immediately recoiled from the blade that came her way. She punched out with her good arm, palm curved enough to catch the nose of the girl, enough to make blood begin to gush as it connected with the cartilage. Dani had to get to Bex. She turned just in time to see the boy on top of her, his hands at her throat. “BEX!” Dani screamed as she dove towards them. As soon as she connected with Bex’s touch, anger flooded her unlike before. It was red and sickly.
It made her head spin. It filled her head and she saw stars. It ran in tendrils down through to her fingertips. She itched to close her hands around his throat, to squeeze until life left him. She wanted to do to him what Frank had done to Bex, what her mothers had done to her, what this horrible fucking world had done to every single person she’d ever cared about. “NO!” Dani bellowed again, immediately ripping the blade that the girl had flung into her shoulder. Blood spurted, but not enough to make Dani worry-- not enough to make her care. But God, it hurt. It was a searing pain and it was numb, but she moved forward. She did what she did best; she ignored her pain. She swallowed it whole. All she saw was red. The blood on her hands, the red in Bex’s face. Dani reached forward without realizing what she was doing. She tackled the boy off of Bex and wrestled him to the ground. Her own blood pooled onto the two of them, swelling and dotting his white t-shirt rouge. Dani didn’t have the time to recognize the familiarity in her movements, or the way it felt wrong, or the way that the fear had reached his eyes as he realized that these would be his last moments. Dani plunged the knife down into his heart, just as she would any vampiric kill. Only he didn’t turn to dust.
Bex? Wasn’t that the name of the girl Frank had told them he was helping? Why was she here? The beast hunter faltered. Blood gushed from her nose. It was a move that cost too much. She reached for her friend. “Lucas, wait--” but it was too late. The undead girl was pouncing on him, wrenching him from the girl on the ground-- from Bex-- and her fists pummeled him and then there was a knife. “NO!” she screamed, lunging for them. But it was too late, again. The knife plunged into his chest so deep and so loud she heard bones crack and muscle tear as the blade penetrated his heart. In her fury, she tackled the other girl off him, rolling with her as fists came down. “YOU KILLED HIM!” she shouted, fighting to remove the knife from her hand. “You monster, you killed him!”
The warden gurgled blood on the ground, grasping at air, at something that wasn’t there. Bex wheezed and huffed and tried to blink away the black, tried to catch her breath, too. She heard him choking on his own blood. She rolled onto her stomach and crawled over to him, hands pressing against the wound on his chest. Whatever these two had done, however angry they had made her, she hadn’t wanted them to die. She hadn’t meant to be so angry. She hadn’t wanted Dani to kill for her. She didn’t want anyone to kill for her. “I-it’s okay,” she stuttered, but she knew it wasn’t going to be. So did he. She saw it in his face, and suddenly she didn’t see him and it saw Frank instead. He reached up to her, pushing her away. “I h-hope i-it was w-worth it,” he stuttered through blood pouring from his mouth. “W-was she, w-worth it?” Bex didn’t know what he was talking about, she couldn’t get the image of Frank out of her head. Why couldn’t she make it go away? “Tell Frank…he was wrong…” Bex shivered. “Frank? What about him? What are you--” but she knew. She knew. She was seeing Frank because he was seeing Frank. The realization set inside of Bex’s stomach like stone. Her gaze turned up to Dani, still struggling with the other hunter.
“S-stop,” she stuttered, “Stop!” she stood up from the warden, her hands covered in blood. He was dead, now. He’d died because of her. Because of Frank. Because of his delusions. She had to get to Frank before he got to Mina again. “STOP!” she shouted and her magic reached out and touched the two alive hunters’ minds and told them to stop.
The rage burned. It had made her feel as though her chest were going to concave, as if her bones would turn to ash, replaced by nothing but the red. The red on Dani’s hands, what spilled down the front of the boy’s shirt. She saw it everywhere. Even though it was still an evening blue, the sky seemingly had blistered into something sickly, too. Her hands were still around the blade that’d been thrust into the hunter’s chest, but she made no move to get off of himt. Not even when she heard the female hunter bellowing behind her. She stared down, shock and horror creeping as if a shadow down her throat, blooming and growing until it was pressed against every part of her. The fury stayed, it stayed hot and loud and Dani could barely listen to the pain in her arm, or the back of her head as she fell to the ground from the launch of the second hunter.
Dani acted as if made of mechanics, her bones and skin and blood-- it all floated before her. There was somebody on top of her and they were trying to wrestle the blade away. They were calling her a monster. What had she done? They had called her a monster before, when-- Dani blinked away the tears as she struggled against the hunter’s hold. They were stronger than her in this moment, because truthfully, Dani wasn’t sure what was left of her now. She still felt like she was floating. Until she was sinking. Until it felt like every root from every tree held her down, gripped her throat and squeezed. Until her chest felt heavy and the blisters of anger burrowed so deep that she wasn’t sure they’d ever be removed. She couldn’t turn her head, or look at Bex. She stared up at the second hunter who hovered above her, seemingly in the same hold. She tried to look at Bex, and she tried to make a noise, but all that came out was an animalistic cry as she caught sight of the boy who was dead on the ground. She could see his shirt, it was covered in blood. Bex’s hands were, too. She thought about her and Morgan’s conversation. Dani wanted to scream, to reach out, to wipe away the blood, to pool it into her hands, to make it go away. Only she couldn’t. She was frozen, forced to face what she’d done.
First, Kyle’s shower had run long. He was listening to a good playlist and he didn’t get out until the water started to run cold. And then he took forever to get dressed. He wanted to look at least a little presentable for his friends. Just a little. It wasn’t like Bex and Dani knew him to be on time, so Kyle wasn’t exactly worried when he hadn’t heard from them. They knew he’d be there. And he was! Except, when Kyle came strolling across the campus, he heard sounds of a fight or a struggle or something. He felt a pang of anxious worry flare up in his chest, but he squashed it down. It was a college campus, it was bound to happen that there was some yelling somewhere. But when he heard a shout that sounded suspiciously like Bex, that anxious feeling gripped him tight and wouldn’t let go. Kyle quickened his pace at first, trying to remain calm until he knew what was happening, but broke into a sprint as the screams continued. Like, an actual we’re fighting to the death kind of racket. He couldn’t mistake it for playful banter.
Kyle was still running at top speed when he came up on the scene; Dani was pinned beneath someone and they were both covered in blood, Bex was similarly covered in blood and it made sense it would be her own, there was a third blood soaked party, unmoving on the ground. Kyle didn’t have time to process, he didn’t have time to think more than to just breathe. He tried to run through the calming mantra he’d heard Bex whisper to herself before, but the coppery scent of blood--his friends’ blood--filled his nostrils. Before he could consider all courses of action, he was throwing himself at the person on top of Dani. He bowled into them, gripped them around the middle and sent them both rolling, end over end, sideways and off of Dani.
Bex stumbled backwards when Kyle was suddenly racing by her and tackling the other girl off of Dani. All she could think about were the images the other hunter had in his mind. Frank had sent them here, had told them to kill Dani. He had lied to them. They thought Dani was a supernatural. He was coming for her. He wanted to kill her. He wanted to kill Mina. He was going after her, first, and then he was coming for Bex. But her mind stuck on Mina. He’d already tried once, and Mina was now weaker for it. She was still recovering. But if he wasn’t here yet, that meant there was still time. She could make it to Mina in time. Bex felt her anger, her fear, her panic return to her in droves and they told her to move, to go. She didn’t say a word as she stumbled past the dead warden on the ground, she didn’t say a word as Kyle tussled with the other hunter. She didn’t say a word as Dani sat frozen on the ground. She just ran. She just had to get to Mina. Mina was the only thing that mattered now.
The beast hunter tumbled. She’d been too distracted by the image of her dead friend-- laying but five feet away from her, beating down on the monster who’d killed him-- to notice the second monster coming her way. She felt him first, glancing up just in time to watch him ram into her. They tumbled head over heels for a moment before she got her legs placed on his chest and kicked him away. He was some sort of beast, it made the hairs on her arms stand on edge. She went to pull her silver blade out, but realized she was way outnumbered, out matched. She eyed the beast, pressed low to the ground. Would he follow her or would he go to his friend? She had to hope he’d be too distracted with her. She took off away from him and towards her friend-- her dead friend. Scooped his body into her arms and looked back over her shoulder at the other two. “You’re a monster,” was all she said before she took off. She needed to get her friend back to his family. They’d want to bury the body. They’d want to know how their son died.
Every move Dani made reverberated throughout her entire body. The pain in her shoulder was more noticeable now, and even as she shifted, her arm fell limp at her side. The adrenaline, fear, and rage that coursed through her veins was still loud. It ate at her. She continued to stare ahead of her, before she was shifting her attention back to the hunter who had been knocked off of her by somebody. It had happened so fast that Dani didn’t have the time to rationalize what was happening, or figure out that Kyle was the one wrestling the second hunter to the ground. Finally, Dani managed to sit up. Everything moved slowly, and even though she knew everything was loud-- the screams that circled them from a few onlookers that managed to spill out of the school, it was all quiet. Blurred. As if she were under water. The body next to her laid eerily still. Dark eyes stared up at the sky unmoving. Dani shook her head and tried to crawl towards it, but fell short as her arm gave out from beneath her. She slumped down to the ground, her good shoulder digging into the dirt. “No, no, no, no,” Dani slurred, her voice hoarse. She hadn’t done that. That wasn’t her.
She heard a noise behind her and then somebody was stepping over her to get to the body, to the boy she had killed. The female hunter bent down and picked the boy up with ease, but not before shooting a quip her way, not before confirming what Dani had feared, that she’d been the one to do it. She hadn’t remembered the feeling of the blade in her hand, or the way it felt when she had ripped it out of her arm. Everything hurt now, it was hard to ignore. She shook her head. She was covered in blood. Her own, as well as his. “No,” Dani panicked as she tried to clamber after the hunter. “No, he’s--” She choked on her words as she attempted to get to her feet, to follow after them. She fell again, the pain shooting through her as she stumbled into her bad shoulder. Stars splintered across her vision and vibrations found their way into the soles of her feet, the palms of her hand, the back of her mouth. She felt it all, all of the red, all of the grief, the anger.
Kyle had the wind knocked out of him as he fell back from the hunter’s kick. He reeled for a moment as he tried to breathe. He looked up at her from beneath his eyelashes as she stood, his pulse pounding in his ears. He balled his hands up and clenched fistfuls of bloodsoaked earth as he willed himself to calm down. Every inch of him, every instinct, willed him to shift and not let her escape. She had done something to his friends. She had hurt Dani and Bex. The thought of his friends pulled him out of the tunnel vision he was sinking into. As the hunter retreated, he whipped his head around, eyes searching for Bex. He spotted her as she fled. As worried as he was, all he could think was how stupid it was for her to be alone now. He pulled a fist from the ground and slammed it back down. He struck the earth with all of the force of the frustration he felt. He could feel his knuckles split; hear his bones crunch on impact. He didn’t care. He needed to make sure his friends were okay, that they were alive, that Dani--Dani.
Kyle shoved himself to his feet, stumbling a moment as he forced his lungs to work properly again. Breathe, just breathe, he told himself. He rushed to Dani’s side, trying to assess what was her blood and what wasn’t, but there was so much of it. “You’re okay, you’re okay,” he whispered, though if that were directed to her or to himself, he couldn’t be sure. “Come here.” Kyle placed a hand behind Dani’s knees, and one against her upper back. “Okay, Dani, I need you to stay with me.” He’d definitely heard people say that in movies, right? That’s what you said here, right? He tried to swallow down the anxiety that held firm in the pit of his stomach. That couldn’t happen right now. He couldn’t think about losing her. “I’m gonna pick you up, okay? We have to get you--,” where? Where could he take her that made sense, that would be able to take care of her, that would keep her alive? “--out of here. Can you--are you--Dani, are you human? Do you want to go to a hospital?” Fuck, what if she wasn’t human? Didn’t matter, he’d figure it out. He didn’t pause long enough for a response. He didn’t want one. “I’m gonna pick you up,” he said again, voice shakier than it was before. “One, two--”
Dani barely registered when Kyle knelt down beside her. She could still hear the screams. There’s so much blood! Somebody call an ambulance! Everything felt far away. Even as Kyle was speaking to her, she heard it through something else, as if her ears were blocked. Where was Bex? Dani tried to twist, to get away from Kyle as he picked her up, but she couldn’t move. She slumped against him as she felt herself being lifted into the air. She could see the ground moving beneath her, but she couldn’t tell why. “Bex,” Dani murmured, her voice small and broken and twisted, coming out nearly unrecognizable. “Where is she?” The hunter kept her eyes open out of fear that she’d see the dead boy. His dark eyes were burned into her vision. She felt Kyle’s arms around her. They felt wrong. She didn’t deserve comfort or care. She deserved to burn, to bleed. But she was too tired, too tired to fight it. She felt sluggish as she turned her head, forehead pressing against Kyle’s chest. How much blood had she lost? It was impossible to figure out what was hers and what was the hunter’s. She could feel the rise and fall of her chest, ever so slowly. She felt herself being shifted and suddenly she was no longer in Kyle’s arms. She was in a vehicle. She could feel the hum of the engine throughout her entire body. She stared at the door handle as she slumped against the window. She wondered if she should pull on it, let herself spill out onto the road. Instead, Dani closed her eyes.

Shikamaru with an Uchiha!S/o
“I saw that you did a Yamanaka!s/o for that anon, it was great! Can I ask for another one with Shikamaru, but this time with a Uchiha!s/o? Like, idk, if Sasuke had a twin sister and she stayed on the village, but she's a shinobi too? And she uses a sword like her brother, and some people of the village look at her suspiciously because of what her brother did? Thank you!!!” -anon
This came out kinda way longer then i meant it too be and wasn’t 100% focused on you and shikamaru so im sorry about that.
Tumblr media
Oh b o y
Where do i even start?
Being an uchiha, especially directly related to sasuke did not make you look good what so ever
You two were close at one point, inseparable even, but once your elder brother slaughtered your whole clan, you both kinda drifted a bit.
Don’t get me wrong, sasuke still cared for you and vice versa but he was much more cold and closed off about his feelings
No more “lets train to impress nii-san, y/n-chan” type of shit anymore
You still tried to remain a bit positive, and be nice to others unlike your brother
You didn’t agree with wanting to kill Itachi, because what good would that bring? How would killing someone because they killed solve anything?
During the first few years of school, shikamaru might not care much for you
Just another classmate in his eyes
Might even have a few negative thoughts in the back of his mind since you guys are twins
He never cared for sasuke since he’s never anything but an ass to people
And when he’s not he’s acting like a cocky shit
He thought you guys acted the same but that proved to not be the case when he saw you outside of class once
He was out getting some dango at a new place with choji and thats where he saw you
He didn’t really want to greet you but much to his surprise you greeted them with a smile
Even offered some of your dango and choji was extremely grateful for that
You guys held a pleasant conversation and ever since then have hung out at the dango place after school
After you guys became official shinobi, you didn’t have time to hang out every day but you did when you had the chance
You once got shikamaru to wear his headband actually on his head instead of his arm and boy did he look stupidly handsome
During some point in the chunnin exams, you noticed your brother’s desire for power has grown an alarming amount
It was no longer “lets train and ask our sensei’s to give us jutsu” but “I will do anything and everything in order to gain more strength”
It honestly scared you and so you went to shikamaru and ranted about it
He acted annoyed that you went on and on about someone he didn’t care for, but did truly listen to your words
“Don’t worry, its just his teenage angst faze kicking in.” “...maybe”  “I’m pretty sure everyone gets it, it’ll pass” “Even you?” “my emo faze lasted three whole minutes as i watched choji eat the food i was looking forward to all day”
Sasuke basically stopped showing emotions to you after the exam and it really saddened you
He basically treated you as someone he lived with
Not family or friend but like “oh thats my room mate i guess”
You were out with shikamaru when sasuke ran off to find naruto, he didn’t bother to explain and you honestly didn’t care
He wants to brawl with the loud blonde? Go for it
What you didn’t know is that he would run into Itachi
Or that itachi joined some terrorist group
You didn’t hear this news until later on when your sensei sat you down and explained the situation
shikamaru cheered you up as best as he could
when the Nara became chunin, instead of sitting besides sasuke all day who was recovering from a mission, you hung out with him
Sasuke wasnt that injured anyways and he may or may not have told you to quit worrying about him
called him handsome and he basically turned into a tomato
got some bbq with his friends and when ino started commented about minding your weight and looks and stuff you kinda became slightly insecure in the moment
he cheered you and choji up by making a few jokes
you gave him a peck on the cheek and dude he had such a dumb smile on his face
ah man ive written too much and havent even reached shippuden yet im sorrryyy
lets speed threw this then
when sasuke left the village you were distraught but he did his best to cheer you up
reassured you he and his team will bring him back
you wanted in the mission and he was hesitant about it
you were a damn good kunoichi and you also had the sharingan too so that could help
he eventually agrees
when yall fail the mission you cry because your emo duck-bitch of a twin didnt even bother to say good bye
Shikamaru does his best to make you feel better but he feels so guilty
he sincerely apologizes and chokes up a bit when hes talking about how he failed the mission and broke his promise on getting him back
you hug him and say its okay
from then on you guys get closer than ever
You dont remember exactly when but you got a sword, almost like a katana
you learn how to use it and love it
Add some fire or lightning to it, man you feel like a bad ass
you carry it everywhere with you
little do you know you basically chose the same sword as sasu-gay
by the time shippuden starts, shikamaru awkwardly asks you out and you agree
as much as shikamaru loves you, the village doesnt think to well of you
your eldest brother slaughtered your clan and joined a terrorist group
and now your twin goes rouge and is proceeding to head down a darker path with orochimaru
they probably expect you to do something similar
some people even think that you only stayed in the village so you can give them intel and sell out the leaf’s secrets
basically the village cares for you as much as Tobirama did for the uchiha
not too much.
in fact if you were gone they could finally be free of any uchiha
If your bothered by those rumors or things people say, shikamaru can’t really do anything to stop them
But he can do his best to take your mind off it
Might get you some dango and say to go cloud watching, or nap under some tree to let you relax
But remember this isn’t a one way relationship, you do stuff for shikamaru as well
When he was feeling stressed (though he didn’t really show it) about planning the next chunnin event, you gave him a massage and just let him relax
You got him his favorite food and took him to his favorite hill
He doesn’t really rant or talk a lot about his problems
He’s too lazy too and doesn’t feel like its that important
You make it clear to him that every opinion he has matters
You two some times go on little small lunch dates
Ino and choji are always somewhere in the background watching
Ino probably comments that you got the uchiha good looks and with out thinking shikamaru just agrees
Definitely became embarrassed when ino squealed and shook him around
Ah man there is actually to much drama around sasuke and itachi in shippuden and im lazy so lets forget about that
I think shikamaru with an uchiha!s/o would probably be an 8/10 experience depending on how angsty you get

Can I request a fluffy little fic with Klaus? And like he’s always super supportive even if he doesn’t quite understand what you’re doing, he’s kinda always like “fuck yeah look at you go!” I could really use the love lol
A/N: Hey Nonny. I didn’t know what sort of things you meant, so I defaulted to what’s familiar for me: the struggles of higher education.  I hope you enjoy it, and that whatever you’re doing, you know it’s amazing because you’re doing it 😊 Word Count: 1944 Content Warning: mild language, brief references to drugs
You groaned, your head hitting the table as you stared down at your circled answer, the wrong answer again. You were determined to keep taking this practice test until you got it right, until all of the answers felt like second nature. Except you kept making the same mistakes over and over again instead.
Your pen sailed through the air, causing your best friend, and eternal headache, to duck with a chuckle as it clattered against the wall.
“I see studying's going well,” he teased, walking further into the room.
“Klaus Hargreeves, unless one of the assortment of pills I just know are in your pocket right now is a magic one that will help me remember this shit, I say this in the most heartfelt and loving way possible: piss off.”
He pressed his hand to his chest dramatically.
“Exqueeze me?” he trilled, “I come to make sure you’re alive, as you’ve not been seen in days, and this is the thanks I get?”
“I’m serious Klaus,” you sighed, running a hand through your tangled hair. “I need to study.”
He looked you over, taking in the bags under your eyes, your rumpled clothing, the sag of your shoulders. You were overworking yourself, as self-destructive in your own way as he was in his, and it pained him to see.
“You need a break,” he said, crossing over to you and sweeping you up in his arms, toppling your chair in the process and surprising you with the strength hidden in his arms.
“Klaus,” you whined, struggling ineffectively from your position pinned to his chest in a bridal carry. “No, I don’t have time for a break right now. Especially not the kind you mean.”
He sat down on your bed, keeping you in his lap and began carefully finger-combing through the knots in your hair.
“I have no ulterior motive, mademoiselle,” he hummed. “Only your wellbeing in mind. Relax with me for one hour,” the worst of your knots gone, he laid down, tugging at your arm to try and get you to join him. “And I will leave you alone for the rest of the night, or even help you to study, if you want.”
“I don’t want...chemical aids.”
He scoffed. “Who do you take me for? I know you better than that.”
“Then how could you help me? You don’t know anything about the material. Or testing.”
“I’ll...hold up your charming little flash cards, or read you the questions. I don’t know. Sit next to you and cheer enthusiastically whenever you get a question right and burn the whole book if it claims you’re wrong?”
You couldn’t help the giggle that slipped out, and were glad of it when he flashed you that dazzling grin. The longer you sat, awkwardly leaning and half in his arms, the harder it became to resist his temptation.
“Fine, one hour,” you said, attempting to be stern as you relented, curling up against his chest.
“No more, no less. And then we shall study until our eyeballs fall out,” he promised, fingers crossed behind your back as he held you.
~
Your hands shook nervously and you thought for sure you were going to sweat through your blazer as you paced the hallway outside the small lecture hall. You checked the notes you had tucked in your pocket and licked your lips to try and wet them, not that your equally dry mouth and tongue made much difference.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the board, distinguished faculty, and guests,” you muttered for what felt like the seven-hundredth time today. “No, that sounds stupid. Why am I calling the faculty distinguished but not the board or the guests? Maybe I should just do ‘good evening ladies and gentlemen of the board, faculty, and guests,’ but that sounds weird too.”
You flopped against the wall, groaning in frustration. This presentation was the moment, your time to shine, or to crash and burn, dictating potentially the entire rest of your career. And public speaking was not your strong suit.
“Y/N?” your advisor said, poking her head out into the hall and giving you what was surely meant to be a reassuring smile. “They’re ready for you now.”
You took a deep, shaky breath. “Okay, thanks, Linda. I’ll be right in.”
This was your thesis you were about to defend. You had spent more than a year researching and writing it. So why did you suddenly feel like you knew less than the day you walked into your first “101” class?
“Time to face the executioner,” you muttered to yourself, squaring your shoulders and walking in behind Linda, feet carrying you slowly down the aisle to the podium.
You paused, taking a moment to arrange your notes and scan the crowd, looking for someone who looked friendly and unassuming, maybe a kindly librarian type, to focus on while you spoke.
Instead you locked eyes with a familiar, wholly unexpected pair of green eyes. You frowned, about to call out and ask what the hell Klaus thought he was doing here, when you remembered exactly where here was. You cleared your throat and tried to school your face to be placidly blank.
“Good evening,” you started, gaze still fixed on his face. “I would like to thank everyone for their time and attendance, um here, um today.”
‘You’ve got this,’ he mouthed silently.
You smiled, launching into your presentation proper with gusto.
Every time you felt yourself hesitating or fumbling, you sought him again, and his awed little smile bolstered you, reminding you of all the late nights he had spent up with you, watching you from your bed as you paced the room or sat hunched at a desk, thinking out loud or talking to him about it all, offering little suggestions (never that helpful) or affirmations (always very helpful) occasionally, just to remind you that he was there, for you.
Before you knew it, your time was up and you exited the room to a smattering of applause. Out in the hall, a pair of warm arms wrapped around you from behind and lips were planted on your cheek.
“That was brilliant! You were brilliant!” Klaus said enthusiastically before dropping his voice to purr in your ear. “And the whole ‘genius’ thing is very sexy.”
You felt your cheeks blush heatedly. “I’m not a genius, Klaus.”
“Well I had no idea what you were saying, other than super smart stuff, so I disagree.”
You slid out of his arms, although he did manage to keep one circling your waist, and started walking, planning to stop at the 24 hour cafe on campus for a quick pick-me-up and then head home. Klaus followed, holding you as close as you’d let him, planning to go anywhere and everywhere you wanted and nowhere else.
“How do you know it was super smart then, if you didn’t know what it was?”
“Because I know you, and you’re the smartest person in the world.”
“I am not,” you countered, giving him a gentle shove, blushing even harder now.
“And because all those stuffy old academic types in there were impressed.”
“You think so?” you asked hopefully.
You felt like you couldn’t get a read on the room the whole time you were presenting, and their questions had been extremely critical.
His eyes twinkled as he stared down at you. “I know so.”
~
Before you knew it, graduation had crept up on you. You sat in the hard plastic chair in the stuffy canvas pavilion, surrounded by all of your classmates, and waited. It had been hours, and would be hours more, and you just wanted it to be over. No one was there for you, no one cared if you even got this diploma. You could probably slip out the back and be gone before anyone realized, the only sign of your absence the awkward pause when your name was read.
It had always been this way, all through your schooling. Your parents didn’t really understand your career choice, or didn’t have time to come for campus events. You didn’t have a lot of friends due to the demands of your program, and your own innate awkwardness. Instead of being a celebration of your achievements, graduation felt like another reminder of how alone you were, how most people would never remember you unless you did something embarrassing like trip and fall off the stage.
Making excuses and muttering apologies, you slipped out past the rest of your row of fellow graduates and out into the fresh air and bright light of the campus lawn. You breathed a deep sigh of relief, taking off your mortarboard hat and unzipping the robe-like graduation gown about half way.
“Y/N?” you jumped at the sound of Klaus’s voice, not expecting him to be here of all places, and especially not coming out of the tent you had just exited moments ago.
“Klaus!” you gasped, hugging him. “What...what are you doing here?”
“I came to see you, obviously,” he said, booping the end of your nose. “So when I saw you looking like you might be making a break for it, I followed.”
“Oh.” You were flattered that he would attend or managed to spot and recognize you in the sea of identically dressed co-eds, confused how he’d found out the date and time, and a little annoyed that you’d been caught.
“Were you running away?”
“They can mail me my diploma,” you said with a shrug. It wasn’t quite an answer, but it said everything it needed to.
“Y/N,” he sighed, placing his hands on your shoulders. “You know I don’t understand all this college, academic, brilliance stuff. But I know it’s supposed to be special and important and one of those things you’ll always remember.”
“Because it’s supposed to be a celebration. Only I don’t feel like celebrating alone.”
“Well, you’re not, are you?”
“My classmates don’t count. I barely know them.”
“I meant me.” He leaned down, pressing his forehead to yours. “You’re not alone, because I’m here. I’ll always be here.”
You smiled softly, staring into his green eyes, so tender and full of love, as you remembered all of the times he had been there already: how he’d gone to the post office and held your hand when you mailed out applications, how he’d listened to you practice for your admissions interviews for days on end, every late night study session and “study” session, every distraction from anxiously awaiting a grade, pulling you up when you sank into a slump or felt like a failure and cheering you on for your highs and successes. Klaus had never been through formal schooling, had no desire to for all that he was clever. But even though he never knew what the hell was going on, he was there for you through it.
“I should have known that,” you murmured. “After all, you always have been before.”
“Even geniuses can’t know everything,” he countered with a shrug and a smirk, before leaning down to press your lips together softly.
You wrapped your arms around his neck, stretching up on your toes to bring you closer to him as his hands slid down from your shoulders to rest on your waist, an embrace as much as a kiss. You became dimly aware of the sound of applause from inside, signalling the end (finally) of the current speaker. Reluctantly, you pulled away.
“I guess I should probably get back in there,” you sighed.
“Only if you want to,” he said, thumbs tracing circles on your sides. “I’ll support you either way.”
