The words rang through James's brain constantly, distracting him from every action he tried to complete. He wasn't just worried. He was terrified. To know that Regulus was at that horrible place, with those evil people?

BUT to answer the question, this is what happens when clora gets jealous LOOL basically its: she gets jealous > knows that its unfounded and seb wouldn't reciprocate, so she keeps her feelings to herself > but still cant help but feel down about it > seb catches on and makes sure to reassure her. and seb would 1000% be willing to just never talk to the other girl ever again if thats what it took BAHAHA but obvs clora would reject that and tell him thats way too extreme. and altho seb thinks its cute when cloras jealous, he also doesnt like making her feel that way, since he considers it a sort of failure on his part (like, if ur feeling jealous, it means im not proving that i love you enough LMAO) whereas for when seb gets jealous, its: he gets jealous > tells clora of his suspicions / that the dude is trying to get with her > clora tries to reassure him that its nothing, and that its all just platonic (bc it IS from her POV, whether the dude actually likes her or not, bc shes naive af) > seb has no choice but to put up with it LOL bc he's self-aware and knows he gets jealous easily, and accepts that he might be overreacting, but he'll still keep an eye on it regardless. he trusts clora but he doesnt trust the guys, and unlike seb, clora wouldnt stop talking to someone she considered a friend just bc seb THINKS they like her. unless the dude is straight up asking her out/being super bold and obvious about it, clora would just default to 'oh hes just being friendly😇 LMAO. basically seb is too jealous and clora is too naive and they both know this about themselves and each other, so they kinda have to meet in the middle on these things HAHA. for seb its like yeah fine, i might think every guy has nefarious intentions, but YOU also think every guy is completely pure and has absolutely NO romantic intentions ever LOL. but they know this so it works out LMAO (plus even if it is slightly infuriating for each other at times, seb still finds cloras naivety/innocence endearing, and clora also finds sebs possessiveness/jealousy endearing as well🥰) also unrelated but i finally changed my pfp after a year and its cracking me up. that is all

so here are my General HCs on Raven!Luke (which i realize only after writing everything center a bit on his outwards expression/presentation and aura)

1 ) I AGREE WITH U ON THE LIFELESS LIGHTLESS EYES WHEN LUKE GOES RAVEN!!!

and just to add onto it, this is probably what people around luke also notice first and notice most when he gets like this. after all, luke's demeanor when hes Not in raven mode is just always full of so much energy and vibrance, whether hes exhibiting positive emotions (his happiness is like a sunrise!) or negative ones (his anger is like FIRE FIRE FIRE U CAN SEE IT BURNING IN HIS GAZE) but raven....the light is Gone. people around him know suddenly and horribly—with a mounting sense of dread dripping into their mind like a leaky faucet—that theyre dealing with Something Different

2 ) i think his voice goes cold, deep, and chillingly calm—and stays that way, no matter what

this is where i start to deviate from canon a tad.

i play alternating between both s-cn and jp dub, and between those two i ADORE how the VAs make their voice Different when they make the shift from luke to Raven. jp dub tends to take the deep voice route, while s-cn goes for that coldness that always delights me to hear. i love that, i love being able to hear the shift. though where i deviate from the canon voice acting is that there are moments where Raven gets aggressive or is aiming to intimidate, and that aggression/dominant posturing shows in the voice acting (usually either in a growl kinda element to the voice or in raising one's voice) and....i dont want that to happen as much in my ideal raven hcs jHVHFKJSD.

dont get me wrong i think it is so juicy when it does happen, but the raven i envision stays calm, almost aloof and uncaring, no matter what. you will not be able to get a rise from this guy and you will be able to Hear It. raven's voice stays cold and that temperature, so to speak, doesnt rise

(and i'll explain why in my 5th point, bear with me ok HAHA)

3 ) his movements/actions take on an eerie kind of perfection and confidence

where regular luke brings an endearing personality in everything he does, raven!luke brings a kind of flawlessness that you'd expect not from a person but from a well fashioned weapon.

i feel like the best way to explain this is through comparison so......

luke pearce would take apart a gadget in unrestrained glee. if there was someone to talk to, he'd babble to them about what he finds interesting about the gadget, a few unscrewed screws would roll off his desk and he wouldnt notice for a bit in his sheer focus on the gadget itself, he'd grab a notepad to messily scrawl notes and tuck the pencil behind his ear and then later forget where he put that pencil. luke pearce taking something apart is a scene of enthused discovery.

vs

raven would take apart a gadget with smooth, fluid, silent movements. there is no delight in his gaze, no surmiseable reaction from his expression. you wouldnt be able to tell what hes thinking at all as he goes through the motions, and his motions are clinically perfect. it doesnt feel right to watch a human being and see nothing betrayed in their actions. before you know it, raven's broken the entire device into its key components and taking whatever it is he needed from it. raven taking something apart is a scene of dissection and singleminded purpose.

does that make sense? like, discovery vs dissection, enthusiasm vs disinterest, enjoyment vs utility, and above all—human imperfection vs unnerving perfection.

luke is delightfully messy and bounding with personality in how he moves and acts, you can tell what he likes and enjoys and values in simply how he holds himself. in everything luke does or interacts with, he leaves a part of himself there on it, as he was affected by it and affected it in return. it's like leaving fingerprints of personality on everything he comes across.

raven is the opposite. hes not leaving fingerprints. because thats evidence to implicate and he wouldnt be caught dead making a rookie mistake like that.

4 ) luke is a battering ram but raven is a shadow looming over your shoulder

one of my favorite canon scenes of raven is actually the very first time we see him: in luke's route of Mysteries of the Lost Gold

im talking about the scene where luke first makes contact with joshua ott. so many fun raven things in that scene, but what i wanna highlight was how luke in raven mode intimidated him. first by calmly calmly dislocating one of joshua's fingers, and THEN!! MY FAVORITE FAVORITE BIT!!!!!: by threatening to paralyze him and leave him for someone who will surely kill him

this bit, to me, is Peak Raven

he couldve started beating joshua up, we knew by this point already that luke is a combat powerhouse and incredibly strong and was well within his capabilities to be administering much more pain. but he didnt. that, to me, is more the Luke way of going about things.

and thus to me, raven is all about evoking dread and horror in a calm and assured manner.

like, we didnt even know if luke was telling the truth about that syringe containing a muscle relaxant. he Could have been telling the truth, he already did have tranquilizers, but we didnt know. most of the intimidation came from the mere threat alone. something about raven makes you believe that he Will make your nightmares come true, even if he hasnt made them come true yet.

5 ) in general...the Raven in my mind strikes fear into people because people intuitively know theyre dealing with something thats got its heart shut down for a bit

i read an anecdote somewhere i cant remember, but it basically went along the lines of: when youre in the wilderness, if the environment's natural noise—crickets, bugs, distant sounds of mammals scurrying about, birds chirping—if all of that suddenly goes quiet; you are in danger. because it means a predator is nearby.

thats what i imagine Raven's entire aura and manner of presenting to be like

there is no obvious aggression, no anger, no heartbeats raised no adrenaline. these things, to me at least, are more markers of luke than of raven, and every time these things show in raven, thats actually raven breaking character and showing the luke under the cold mask. because luke is human and flawed, there are things that set him off into rage, things that trigger the fear in his heart into fight or flight, things he'll go down kicking and screaming trying to protect in utter desperation. these are emotive qualities, and no matter how volatile emotions can get, theyre also avenues for connection, communication, empathy, etc etc.

the Raven in my mind is devoid of that. and thats exactly what sets people off.

raven doesnt need aggression or excessive force, hes completely confident in his abilities and that the other person will fold. if they dont, he'll make them. he doesnt need anger because he has nothing to be angry about, nothing he values more than getting the job done and thus seemingly nothing to leverage against him. raven doesnt need adrenaline. he wont even have to run. the moment youve seen him—or rather, the moment he sees you—the world suddenly goes quiet in the worst way; you are in danger. a predator is here.

and he already knows hes got you.

GRGRGRGRG FINALLY AN OPPORTUNITY TO INFODUMP ABT HIM!!! tysm @makifishcake and prepare for a long ramble abt best boy ever (to me) and why saijun is real... let's start with an introduction to a canon crossover character only The Loser (me) cares about! this is gonna get messy in writing near the end cuz its like 3 am for me rn.

Kouno Jun is one of the two protagonists of Asou-sensei's older work, Our Hero Studies and is one of Haganeno Ken's students at Holy Lance Academy (a private school that either exists the same town as Saiki or some neighboring one)

The only translated OHS chapters so far show us who Jun and Haganeno are as characters. Kouno Jun's a generic tsukkomi high school student with normal teenage boy interests and crushes... he's baby and a total boyfail.

Jun likes video games (Kaisou Monogatari, an in-universe franchise), ramen, melon soda and Yayumi - the class rep. Pretty normal dude that's just being constantly bothered by his classmates and the teacher he hates...

...and then there's Haganeno Ken - THE delusional cosplayer hero wannabe teacher with huge interest in roleplaying and RPG video games, who immediately takes a liking to Jun, mainly for his name (his name means shield, while Haganeno's mean sword. you see where i'm going?)

most of the ohs panels will be machine translated cuz i have no strength or motivation to continue my actual translation work ngnhnh one day maybe... 😔

He may look like a generic high school shonen manga protagonist, but it's actually really charming to me how adorable he can be despite the boring presentation lolol HIS CRUSH ON YAYUMI IS SO CUTE UGHNHNH

And yeah of course he shows up in Saiki bc WHY WOULDNT HE???

Asou-sensei put him there twice. In the Christmas chapter where he's walking with a girl (MOST LIKELY YAYUMI), sees Kusuo sitting alone and being like "haha that's so sad to be lonely on christmas lmao"... EXCEPT ITS HILARIOUS CUZ HE DOES THE SAME THING IN HIS OWN MANGA'S CHRISTMAS CHAPTER.

and in the Hero Studies crossover chapter, right at the end as an unused character. (wouldn't make sense to have two tsukkomis there tbh so i get it lolol)

Same thing happens in the anime except Jun in the Christmas episode wasn't animated like he's an actual pre-existing character, except just a background character so he looks different but has the same jacket with his initials so its definitely him.

his terrible sense of style was referenced by Takeru at one point as well. yes, Jun dresses terrible and he has outfits much worse than this. hes a loser and i love him

basically its a silly ship me and my lovely sweetest gf (@lu-kario ) came up with and it kinda stuck around. "omg haha what if the two protagonists from different manga dated" but yeah it became an actual thing with thought out scenarios between us.

Me saying it'd be like satousai but Kusuo finds someone "normal" with actual personality would be not giving this ship enough justice. I can't tell much rn cuz I forget 90% of the stuff i make up unless i write it down BUT all i'll say is that

I like to imagine Jun and Kusuo having a calm and nice relationship, lots of quality time spent playing video games or going out to get some ramen together. Kusuo gets to have someone more usual by his side and Jun isn't likely to be bothered by Ken when Kusuo is around (:3).

and yeah, they do get another scene together in volume zero! how lovely! the christmas episode is also one of the reasons i find the ship cool but even despite the sillies having canon scenes and illustrations together i like it simply for fun.

canon crossover ships are cool and epic

my final words: go read ohs its fully in japanese online and 5 chapters are in english so far.

seriously go read it the fandom doesn't exist its really lonely.

Notes: i'll be adding a few facts i found about rain on cybertron, not sure if its the same on tfp

Optimus Prime:

-he'll probably know what "rain" is since it rains acid back in Cybertron, but it rains WATER here

-he was out on patrol when it suddenly rained, not heavily but its still raining nonetheless

-waited for the corrosive effect to happend yet nothing happend other than the water rolling off his frame in his alt form

-big guy waited for the worse 😭

-came back to the base dripping wet from the rain still a bit confused then asked the kids about the rain

-probably wouldnt mind the feeling of the water

-just wait until he knows it could rain acid in here because of the pollution 💀

Arcee:

-was picking up Jack from school along with Bumblebee and Bulkhead

-suddenly it was raining HEAVILY

-she's worried about Jack since once again she's reminded of Cybertron's acid rain

-Jack only reassures her that it rains water here and puts on a rain coat

-when all three of them are back in the base, Arcee does NOT like the feeling of the water hitting her frame

-glad that Jack (probably because June tells him to) packed a rain coat for himself

Wheeljack:

-again he was out on patrol one sunny day, before it starts raining

-the first thing he'll instantly do is find shelter, could be under a huge tree

-WAS ALSO expecting the worse, however was not expecting it to be only water

-since water is practically harmless he'll still drive back to the base

-i feel like he's the type of play in the mud LMAO

-so once in awhile when it rains he'll come back covered in mud

-another one that didnt mind the feeling of the water on his frame

Soundwave:

-he just finished retrieving a relic under Megatron's order, flying back towards the nemesis

-then it started raining, since he's way up in the sky the water would be colder

-he'd probably waited for the worse pt.2

-was so ready to speed up to the nemesis only to find out the rain did 0 harm on him

-still wanted to get out of the rain asap so the inside of the nemesis wont be wet because of him

-another one that didn't mind the feeling of the water on his frame, just didnt want wet the nemesis 💀 + the amount of technology in there

Knockout:

-he WAS about to go to another race somewhere, but it rained instead

-he's no prepared for it, probably screamed about it as well 😭

-you know racing tracks are usually muddy when raining

-yeeaaaaah well there goes his paint job

-HATES the rain because of it, the thought of the rain could possibly be a harmful liquid did not come across his processor

-the only thing that came through was his PAINT JOB getting ruined

-doesnt mind the rain but absolutely HATES the mud during or after the rain

This coworker (or more likely puppet that sneaked in to hide from.someone) likes helping its coworkers like a therapy dog! Haha and uses its bucket as their help line to help their dear coworkers because nothing means more to them then the well beeing of the people around!!

MY favourite ending is the museum ending whitout the bucket! I think it matches rains entire personality (but psst dont tell Rain all this is gonna end someday :))

ANYWAY! Rain is happy to help and happy to make everybody feel part of the team!! (even if they themselves arent)

for now, i guess i’ll give my general thoughts on pepsicola under the cut.

if you know me i probably seem like the #1 pepsicola hater but its not really true. im just an unfortunate victim of missing their romantic moments and letting fanon pepsicola take its place in my brain. and god. do i hate fanon.

see, my problem with fanon pepsicola, in addition to essentially being the proto-davekat as well as yaoi (if no june), is that it really throws a wrench in the two parties’ dynamic. like, i remember hitting up a friend one day and being like. “DUDE. I JUST REALIZED. PEPSICOLA WORKS IF. THEIR DYNAMIC DOESNT CHANGE.” to which he responded with “you thought it changed??”

fanon pepsicola in my eyes is far too romantic. (it also has a problem of being a little too focused on dave’s perspective. which i dislike. cuz that’s all everyone does- focus on the strider perspective.) and i dont want to rant too much about how june is so aro or ace or gray or etc in my head but like all june ships it plays a huge factor. (maybe i could make a post about it if anybody is interested?)

i don’t have much to say on dave’s perspective, so i’ll focus on june’s. i feel like while she wouldnt be AVERSE to a relationship with dave, it would just catch her way off guard. but she’d be down!! but once they enter a relationship, i can see things changing. remember the exchange between jane and jake along the lines of the following?

GG: Who CARES anymore. Go have some babies!!

GT: Woah!! Jane the decision to sire children with ones best bro is not to be taken lightly.

i feel like this is how june would approach a relationship with dave. she’d take it way too seriously and overthink it! i can see her doing both and kinda making things awkward? it’d change their relationship and i don’t think dave would rock with it ngl. he could deal with it for a little, but eventually i think he’d break it off. so sad!

…but i dont like to think that’d be the end of it. june and dave are super close, and i’d be surprised if they stopped being friends. ideally? they’d actually talk it out. it’d be a really tough thing for june to actually acknowledge her emotions and how she treats her friends, but it’d help a lot.
