Saturday 22 December 1832
7 ¾
12 10
soft damp morning and F52 ½° at 8 a.m. – breakfast at 9 with my father – Simeon Shaw brought his black horse to look at – hardly 15 hands – 15 years old if a day - £14 – not worth it – and my father thought the horse too little – Grey mare £17 but cheaper at that than the horse at £14 - out at 9 50 - along the walk to Lidgate in ½ hour - sat with her the 7 minutes while she ate her dinner at 2 ½ and at near 4 walked with her to Cliff Hill - left her at the home gate and then walked pretty quickly to Pickles and his son John stubbing in James Smith’s upper brow - P- planted near the middle gate into walk goodish holly he had got up and then came at 5 in and I paid him up to tonight - found note from Mr Parker with written order signed by M. Stocks as chairman authorizing me to plant the Godley slope
§§ Godley Lane road 21 December 1832. Ordered that Miss Lister of Shibden hall be allowed by the trustees of this road, to plant the south side of the embankments etc. etc as above
‘south side of the embankments of the Godley lane road, that the wood shall belong to her, but the same shall be cut by her at the top, so that the road shall not be shaded there by M. Stocks chairman’.
Mr. Parker will explain the particulars of the meeting when he sees me ‘I doubt not but you will by degrees get all you want.’ it seems, I inadvertently asked for the coal lease instead of the coal plan but Mr P- has sent the plan read Miss W- Doctor B-‘s letter asked what answer I was to send  but she could not or did not tell me anything satisfactory she thought all at an end between us and said she should not live long   should never be happy however she sat on my knee and I grubbled her a little and then said I had given no answer   left it all to her and her sister’s letter  would not give back the purse and her word till the very and till I had done that she was still mine   thought she had better reconsider the thing   still she harped on Cliff hill and Mr Ainsworth   I argued as usual   said I would do anything I could for her and would leave the thing open till the eleventh hour   asked if she would come and stay with me at Shibden  yes or go with me anywhere for a little while and would have me stay with her what said I  and run the risk  of its ending in our begin together   yes   again had her on my knee and grubbled her more and better than before and on leaving her at Cliff Hill said many things were after all more impossible than her going away with me (to which she agreed) and I advised her to do anything she could by way of preparation   and she seemed better and to have much cheered up    she had before said she could live at Cliff Hill single if I was at Shibden and repeated that had not things been as they are I never could have such influence over her   she wants my services and time and friendship and to keep her money to herself   will even Mr A- be able to get her fast?    I left her with less care than ever and more resignation at being rid of her I may use her person freely enough I cease to respect and all my fine talk and professions of regard cost me less and less trouble    well I half promised to go to her on Monday night I shall see whether it will suit me or not   I am better without her and    talk as I may  will have no serious thought of her again – wrote all but the 3 first lines of today till 5 50 – sent off by John before breakfast my notes written last night to Jeremiah R- Esquire and to Messrs. Parker and Adam dinner at 6 10 – Marian came to me to tell me she had seen Mrs. Holmes this morning who mentioned Godley to her – her husband would not interfere against me – thought I ought to have it – in short behaved very handsomely – said I ought not to give more than £1800 or £2000 for it – Marian staid with me till 8 ¼ - then writing out copies of letters into business letter book till went into the other room at 9 40 and sat talking to my aunt and looked over the courier till came to my room at 10 50 very fine mild day – F51 ½° now at 11 p.m.
 vid. p.225.
Pickles shewed me 3 specimens of lead pipe from Firths  3/4in. 7lb. per yard at 1/2 ½
1in. 8lb. ---------
1 1/4in. 10lb. -----------
made up out of the sheets and .:. never of such good quality [?] Pickles would have the piping cast which is always of best quality Firth is now laying cast or run lead piping at Burks hall.
3/4in. 7lb. to the yard much too think – should be as thick as the 1 ¼ in. pipe, and if so, the 3/4in. should weigh ten lbs. per yard!
10lb. to the yard not too much but then the ¾ in. must be thicker than the patter of 1 ¼ in. bore -

hello!!! could i request some headcanons of tfp knockout, breakdown and starscream with a human s/o who generally communicates through writing or motions, and their reaction to hearing s/o’s voice for the first time??
thank you!
Yeah for sure! Thank you so much for requesting, and thank you for being patient while I got to your request <3
Knock Out, Breakdown, and Starscream hearing their S/o's voice for the first time
Under the cut :)
Knock Out
As a rather animated individual himself, he had little to no issues with you communicating via motions, easily being able to understand most of them
The bulk of your communication is done via facial expressions, entire conversations happening without a single word being spoken, much to the confusion of others that happen to witness it
He’s fine with writing as well, silent and patient while he waits for you to scribble down your response and reading it carefully when presented to him
The first time he heard you actually speak was when he returned from a mission, his paint chipped to hell and back. He had been trying to buff out an especially nasty scrape on his back, but it was in that one spot that he couldn't reach
Noticing his struggle, you asked him if he wanted help, voice soft from disuse but still loud enough for him to hear
He stopped, turning towards you with a surprised look on his face, before a soft smile took over and he nodded, thanking you
Doesn't make a big deal out of it, but is over the moon you actually spoke to him. He understands that you have your reasons for not speaking, and he respects that. If you're not going to make a big deal out of it, neither will he
Breakdown
Has more trouble than he'd care to admit figuring out what you're trying to say sometimes, taking a minute to figure out what your actions mean
Prefers actions to writing, I feel like he has a hard time reading, let alone something written by a human cause it would be too small
He's had some practice from all the time he's spent with Knock Out, and he's getting much better at it than when he first met you
It was after the MECH incident, when you had burst into the medical room as Knock Out was patching Breakdown’s wounds. He had turned to you, his remaining eye catching your own
“What have they done to you?”
Despite himself, he couldn’t help the grin that broke out as he reached over to scoop you up
“Nothing I couldn’t handle”
He thinks your voice is lovely, and does his best to encourage you to speak more!
Starscream
Thought it was a bit of a hinderance at first, but quickly grew used to it and it no longer bothers him
Prides himself on being able to understand most, if not all, of your motions, insisting that nobody does it like him
Isn’t a huge fan of writing, saying it takes too long and your handwriting is too messy. If you persist and keep writing, he eventually stops complaining, but there is the occasional grumble
It was after the arrival of Shockwave and his predacon that he first heard you speak. He had been assigned to look after the beast, much to his horror, and was making his opinions on the matter very clear
You chimed in during his rant, the two of you alone in your shared habsuit where he could speak freely without fear of disruption
“Shouldn’t Shockwave look after his own experiment?”
“Yes, exactly! I don’t understand wh-”
He span around, eyes narrowed, demanding if it was you that just spoke to which you respond with a hesitant nod
Grievances forgotten, he’s on you in an instant, trying to prompt you into saying something else, letting out a huff if you don’t
Like Knock Out, he doesn’t make a big deal of it after the initial event, but he does try to encourage you to speak in his own ways, often asking pointed questions that would be hard to answer via action or something similar

The Needs of Pain (part 2)
A/n since y’all liked part one!!
... i think i could make a part 3?? we’ll see lol
This is the LONGEST thing i’ve written on here wow,, and the smuttiest
Warnings: teasing, oral, unprotected sex (pls this is my first time writing full smut be gentle lol)
--
Exhaustion is an odd result of pain. I didn’t think I was that tired after the burn. I certainly didn’t feel sleepy while Kirigan cleaned my shoulder and brushed his soft lips and sharp teeth along my neck to distract me from the pain. Why am I even thinking of that? Of the way his breath felt against my skin, the way his tongue soothed any bites he left against my skin. I breathe out flatly.
Stop thinking of him. Stop thinking of him in that context--that’s why he did it. He enjoys getting under people’s skin, that’s why he’s always insulting the way I see the world. My hand reaches to my neck, touching my skin where I can still feel his lips on my skin, tracing the faint marks I had seen in the bathroom mirror.
I should have asked the healer to get rid of them before they fully formed, but the thought of showing them to anyone was too embarrassing to bear. I force my hand away, dropping it onto my pillow.
He had acted so strange today, he had been so blunt. It was a tactic. He wants to be in my head and I’m giving him what he wants. I sigh, rolling over and pulling my duvet further up my body. It’s too hot for this. Ugh. I kick the duvet off of my legs, letting my nightgown wrinkle up my body. Strong hands could pull the fabric up in a similar, yet much more euphoric way.
No. Who’s thoughts are these? The fact that I picture the same hands that dabbed at my burn earlier today has me questioning my sanity. I can’t sleep like this. Kirigan wanted to be in my head and now he is. Damn him. I can’t stand him which means I can never have him.
Desire has nothing to do with tolerance. The thought leaves my face warm and stomach twisted.
I sit up sharply, sliding out of bed tiredly. I’ll get some air and everything will be fine. The moon will clear my mind.
The Little Palace is strangely twisting at night, all long shadows and yellow lantern light. I slip out of my room quickly, but my thoughts are not immediately banished with the change of scenery. I must be ill. Infection must have set in regardless of my efforts and the healer sealed it beneath my skin and now it’s impacting me. Fever. I’m delusional with fever.
“I didn’t take you the kind for a late night trist.”
His voice leaves the hairs on the back of my neck standing like soldiers at attention. I manifested him the same way people manifest the devil. “Air.” My defense is childish. “I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d get some air.”
The sound of even footsteps leaves me frozen in place. “What keeps someone like you awake?” It’s like he can read through me. “Thoughts of me?”
He can never know. “Obviously.”
My sarcasm doesn’t go unnoticed, he lets out an almost humored breath. “Or perhaps it’s pain.”
The comment is so confusing I almost don’t realize he’s bringing up my shoulder injury. How had I let him see me so vulnerable? Why did he seem somewhat concerned in his own way?
“My shoulder’s perfectly fine.” Good. A normal direction for this conversation to head. “It took the Healer all of two minutes.”
The touch on my shoulder is so sudden I almost jump. Kirigan doesn’t shy away at that, fingers firmly brushing down the skin. “It feels the same.”
I could scream. His strange observation means nothing to me, but the implication is enough to drive me mad. The implication that he knows my skin well enough to be able to judge whether the healed skin feels different is sickening. I’m tired of this.
I turn on my heels, all of my tiredness and irritation twisting in me. “Even if it didn’t, it’s none of your concern.”
“I didn’t realize you were extra irritable when you’re tired.”
Every conversation with him leaves me feeling petulant. “I’m not tired.” I cross my arms, keep my expression set. “I just--I wanted to get some air.”
“Hm.” He takes a step forward, preparing to close the small distance I’d managed to create between us. “And why is that?”
The question leaves me irritated in an odd way. A flat way. There’s a narcissistic entitlement in that question. An entitlement to my thoughts. I shrug. “I hoped it’d make me tired.”
Kirigan draws his eyebrows together, curiosity and something resembling amusement playing at his expression. “If you’d like to be tired, I think I know a few ways to be of assistance.”
A faint, aggravating warmth comes to my face. Not only did my lie earn me a ridiculous innuendo, it’s also trapped me in a corner I cannot escape. Healing from the burn had left me pathetically drowsy. There’s no way he can’t see through me, a tired haze has to be visible on my face. My eyelids feel weighted and I’m too distracted by my deep longing for sleep to hold onto irritation.
“I’m sure I’ll manage on my own.” The words are not meant to be a challenge, just a way to dismiss him. I don’t think he takes them that way.
He draws his eyebrows together, eyes threatening to lose that curious quality. Kirigan steps forward, I step back blankly, desperate to keep enough distance to keep what’s left of my wits about me. He ignores my reaction, taking another step forward. I take another step back. My back touches the wall. I am a mouse and he’s an excited cat.
“You don’t have to,” his voice is too low, too intimate, “I’m not sure that’s something you want to understand.”
My chin raises just slightly, a silent protest. “Dependency is a fatal flaw.”
“So is desire,” his reply is much too quick. “Desire is worse, because one can resist dependency based on pride...but desire, that is something that one sacrifices for.”
Maybe if I was less tired I’d bother to interpret his words a little more. But all I can focus on is his tone--the quality of it. “You sound heavy.” My voice is as light as the night breeze I was craving moments ago. “But you always sound heavy.” It’s the wistful observation of someone slowly disappearing. “At least you’re pretty,” I muse, falling more and more distant by the second.
Something soft breaks across his features, his lips quirking. “Pretty?”
I rest my back against the wall comfortably, eyes shutting without permission. “I’m sure I’ll regret that comment in a moment.”
He stays silent, but his presence does not disappear. I can’t tell if I’m glad for it. The warm touch on my shoulder startles me out of my drowsy trance. Panic has me ready to jump off the wall, but Kirigan brushes his thumb up and down my shoulder. His touch sets any skin that comes in contact with him aflame. I shouldn’t find the gesture so comforting. My eyes flutter shut again, my body relaxing against the wall. When my protest dies out before it begins, Kirigan shifts closer. I’m confused, but too at peace to answer. Something velvety and warm brushes against my collar. Soft and warm and electric. He’s kissing my skin again.
My lips part in hopes of arguing, but when his teeth graze the skin he already marked earlier I’m gone. My eyes shut again, but this time it’s different. Pleasure and drowsiness clear me of all inhibitions as his touch becomes more and more assured. I let him test me, his mouth moving against any and all exposed skin. I don’t even stop him when I feel his hands graze the hem of my nightgown, wrinkling it the way I imagined earlier.
“Kirigan.” I need to find my strength, but what’s the point of strength when his touch leaves me so warm? The only acknowledgement of my protest he offers me is the lingering squeeze of my thigh before his long fingers begin to graze towards the inside of my thighs. I have no choice but to let his lips brush up my neck, his teeth grazing my skin the way they did earlier today. “Kirigan.” I try to sound firmer, but he destroys the rest of my sentence before I have the chance to get it out. His teeth nip the base of my neck, ruining my protest for a second time.
Maybe if I was less tired I’d be able to fight him off a little better, but I’m so drowsy I had trouble thinking before he started touching me. My eyes shut in both bliss and exhaustion. His thumb presses into my hip. Something in me stalls as his fingers brush the hem of my underwear--testing me, challenging me. I open my eyes on instinct, but he remains unbothered, slipping his thumb beneath the only fabric that divides us in order to better grip my hip.
I stiffen because of how badly I want to melt. This is bad. This is insane. We’re in a hallway in the middle of the night and he’s General Kirigan. Whatever attraction I feel is another tactic to manipulate me.
“We need to stop.” The command is weak, my voice as dry as my resolve.
He angles his head in order to regard me a little better. His expression is one of mock confusion as he smirks. Actually smirks. “Stop what?” False innocence drips from his voice as he leans towards me, expression amused as his lips near my own. “I haven’t even started yet.” My eyes widen, something that amuses him. “Y/n?”
I’m left on edge. I’m left wanting. My lips part flatly, but words feel so distant. “Yes?”
“What happened earlier?” His voice is the kind of sinful that’s meant to coax. Kirigan brushes his thumb across my shoulder, eyes watching mine cautiously. “How did you get burned?”
I push against the sultry quality of his voice. “I told you--an accident.”
“Hm.” His eyebrows draw together in a surprisingly soft way. I stare at him freely, but he ignores my gaze, eyes locked on my newly healed skin. Is he truly that concerned? “Whose accident?”
I swallow once. “My own.” He still isn’t looking at me. “I’m not exactly the most coordinated person, you’ve witnessed my clumsiness yourself.”
Kirigan is not convinced. Perhaps he will never fully buy my partial lie. His grip on me hardens. Restraint. I may not be able to win against his paranoia, but I might be able to distract him. Cautiously, I move one hand forward, touching the hand that’s on my shoulder. I hesitate. Touching him without prompting almost feels too intimate. I’m being ridiculous. I brush my fingers against the back of his palm, letting my touch trail up his forearm.
“Y/n.” My name borders on a warning.
I suppress a smile, playing into my sleepiness as I tilt my head to the side. “Yes?”
He doesn’t reply, expression tightening as my hand snares around his wrist, pulling it off my shoulder with more care than I thought myself capable of. The intensity of his gaze is enough to burn me. I turn my full attention to his hand. I’d never admit this out loud, but this isn’t the first time I’ve thought about how objectively attractive his hands are. I kiss each of his knuckles slowly, brushing my lips against his skin tentatively.
To my surprise, he allows my indulgence. I glance at him through my lashes. Kirigan’s eyes are shut, expression bordering on pained. “Kirigan?”
He opens his eyes but his expression does not ease. His other hand leaves my thigh, grabbing the low collar of my nightgown with such a fierce speed it takes me a second to realize what’s happening. He pulls me away from the wall in a way that borders on violent.
“I don’t know who you’re protecting, but I guarantee you they’re not worth it.” The words are acidic. He’s seething. “I grow tired of your resistance.”
If he hadn’t transformed into something so untamed, I might have had enough gall to tell him I grow tired of being toyed with. I say nothing, instead I take in the abrasiveness of his anger, the tension of his grip on the thin fabric that clothes me. I am unflinching in my assessment in the most tired way possible, eyes struggling not to shut and body desperate to rest, but even more desperate for him. His eyes stare into mine, searching for something I am too far gone to offer. He must realize my sleepiness is genuine because he soon drops his gaze, taking his time in analyzing the even rise and fall of my chest as well as the hint of cleavage his grip on my nightgown is exposing. Pure heat finds itself in my face, chest, and worst of all---core. His staring lacks any shame.
Kirigan parts his lips as if to speak but then instead takes a moment to lick them. The thought of his tongue in relation to lips only makes the burning in me worse. It’s practically an ache. A needy one.
“I grow weary of your lack of understanding.”
Understanding? “What is there to understand?”
His head angles itself to one side but he doesn’t meet my gaze. The hold he has on me loosens just enough so that his hold on me is no longer taut. That should not disappoint me the way it does. I wait patiently, ignoring the bundle of unexplained nerves in my stomach as best as I can. Something strange colors his features when he finally looks at me again, something almost vulnerable.
“I brought you here.” He sounds farther from me than ever. “I…” His exhale is gentle, but his expression is quick to harden. “Who are you so willing to protect?”
I must be really tired because his voice sounds like it borders on heart ache. If I didn’t fear Arthur’s safety I’d tell Kirigan everything if it meant his pain would dissipate. I never thought Kirigan’s potential pain would bother me, but now that I’ve seen him look stricken by something so weighted--now that I’ve seen the way he wears pain--I don’t want to be the one to give him that. I want to be the one to give him some kind of sanctuary. The thought leaves me with a desire to flea.
“Will you just believe me when I say it’s no one?” In a way that’s the truth. Arthur is not particularly significant unless you’re a young Grisha female with a desire for heart ache. “No one worth mentioning at least.”
He’s quick to retighten his hold on my nightgown, leaving the fabric taut and more of me exposed. “You being desperate to protect them makes them worth interest.” A different response than I expected.
My lips thin. “Only because it was a small accident. They don’t deserve to be punished over the briefest loss of focus.”
I take his silence as an indicator that he is considering my words. His free hand finds my shoulder as he pulls me even closer to him by the fabric he’s gripping. “And if I were to revoke the threat of punishment?” His voice is the definition of temptation, low and promising and coddling me with its sinfulness. I still as Kirigan leans forward so that his lips are practically on my ear. “Then would you tell me? If I released you from the binds of your nobility?” My lips part but I have no words prepared. Before I can think of what to say, his lips graze the side of my jaw before his teeth nip at the end of my ear. “Tell me just to humor me.”
The command doesn’t make sense to me, but from his lips it feels important. “You won’t hurt them for what happened?”
His voice seems rougher than before, “Would that make a difference?”
“It would make all the difference.” I don’t like the honesty of my words.
Kirigan allows one hand to trail down my waist--a gesture I consider obscenely intimate when paired with the soft brush of his lips on my collar. “I already know who.” His voice is a dark hum. “I was always going to know one way or another--but it’s good to know you would have told me.”
My stomach lurches, dread pouring into me like tar. Before fear can force me to take action, Kirigan begins to leave open mouth kisses from the top of my jaw to the bottom of my neck, taking his time to assault any spot of skin with his tongue that he wants. This reminds me too much of earlier--touches meant to distract from pain with the use of pleasure.
“Are you--” His mouth is now on my collar, threatening to destroy my question. “Are you going to hurt him?”
At that Kirigan straightens. The sudden lack of contact leaves me cold. I shouldn't be thinking of him. Of his touch. “I’m curious,” he draws out each syllable, delighting in my nerves, “Would you bear his punishment?”
I’m not sure. I hate that. I haven’t known Arthur for that long, and while he’s kind, he also seems to see all women as replaceable. That isn’t reason for him to endure Kirigan’s punishment but I don’t know him well enough to just blindly agree to that. I loathe myself for not being noble enough to take Arthur’s punishment instantly.
“What kind of punishment?”
Kirigan’s expression twists into a greedy smile. He pushes me back easily, pressing me into the wall with more confidence than ever. I’m silent in my confusion until he presses himself against me and I feel something hard and bulging press into where I’m neediest. I stifle a gasp of surprise and something similar to pleasure. “I’m sure I could think of something for you.” I’d care more about my confusion if hot need wasn’t flooding my thoughts and my body with undeniable desperation. “I haven’t even spoken to him.” I exhale, untrusting relief desperate to escape me. Kirigan is quick to lean forward, lips brushing my ear as he prepares to whisper. “I’m more likely to harm him because he has your favor than anything else.”
Warmth burns my face. “He doesn’t--he’s not exactly the one that holds my favor.”
The heat of his breath adds to my burning as he presses his bulge into my core again. “And who does?”
I’m not sure what he considers favor, but if it has anything to do with wanting he wins. But he can never know that. “There are some contenders, but no one yet.”
His hand moves off my hip and nears my throat. “Would it be too bold to assume I’m on the short list?”
He’s two steps away from taking me in an open hallway, I doubt he finds much bold. “Do you want to be?”
Kirigan’s hand tightens on my throat. “I’ve made it clear from the beginning what I want.” His words are lethal and each syllable has him restricting my airflow a little more. Something in me must be broken because my neediness only worsens. “I brought you here because I see all that you could be. Forget being a Saint, we could be gods.” The sentiment is so raw it’s almost harder to bear than his tight grip on my neck. He leans close again, his scent only adding to my budding lightheadedness. “Say the word, and I could have you praising me like I’m already a god.” My stomach knots in both nerves and insatiable hunger. “Though I’m the one that would be doing the worshipping.”
My resolve is shattered, leaving me broken and twisting. He releases his hold on my neck in order to move his hand beneath my chin. There is nothing gentle about the way he jerks my head forward, forcing me to look into his eyes. Something about the look he gives me has me melting. His eyes are searching for something in me.
He must find whatever he’s looking for because I feel his touch against my heat, fingers pressing against fabric. I bite my lip on instinct, suppressing the sound of my undoing. Kirigan’s eyes never leave mine as the hand on my chin moves to brush against my bottom lip.
“I can only give you what you want if you tell me what that is.”
He exhales slowly, pressing his thumb against my lip downwards. My mouth parts on instinct, something that he takes well. His thumb enters my mouth slowly, taking in my reaction as I taste his skin on my tongue. Kirigan pulls his thumb away from my tongue slowly, a thin string of saliva connecting him to my mouth. With one swift tug, his free hand pulls the only fabric separating him from where I want him most down my thighs. His expression reveals nothing as his thumb, still wet with my saliva, is pressed against my core. His touch teases my clit, just barely brushing where I need him most. The whine that escapes me is so desperate I’m ashamed I can’t help it.
“So wet already,” his appraisal is gentle, the praise whispered against my throat as his lips brush against my neck. “So wet, so needy that you’d let me take you in this hallway and I’ve hardly touched you.” His finger presses further into me. I let out another pathetic breath. “A pity, someone like you--so painfully under cared for.” I’m reduced to nothing by his words and touch. “What I’d give to undue you here, against the wall--I’d have you crying so loudly everyone would know that I’ve claimed you, that I’ve made you mine.” Before I can reflect on his words, he steps back, pulling my underwear back up as quickly as he yanked it down.
I let out an instinctual whine. My hand moves to his arm, grabbing him like he’s the only thing keeping me tethered to the earth. “What--”
Kirigan squeezes my hand, a predator’s smile on his lips. “I want to feel all of you,” his hand squeezes my hip, “I can’t exactly do that against a wall, dove of mine,” he leans forward, lips brushing against my jaw in a way that leaves me chilled and melting at the same time, “At least not the first time.”
His whisper forces my breathing to hitch, a fact that he notices with an amused look as his thumb brushes against my collar. Kirigan pulls me away from the wall easily. Even the causal touch feels electric against my skin.
The walk towards my room is tense, his hands never leaving me as if he’s aware of how necessary it is to keep me distracted to ward off my better sense. When we reach my door, Kirigan opens it like it’s his. Entitled. Typical.
I step into the room, his touch lingering on my arm. A brief shyness pushes itself into my chest. I had let Kirigan touch me in a public space and lead me back to my room. The door closes. I don’t turn.
Kirigan’s hand squeezes my shoulder. “Shy, now?” His question is teasing, rekindling the fire beneath my skin as he places an open mouth kiss on my neck. He plays with the thin strap of my nightgown, pushing it off my shoulder. He kisses down my neck, collarbone, and shoulder. My inhibitions are melted away again. “When your breathing stalls like that,” his whisper is enough to elicit a desperate shudder, “I am left desperate.”
He leans forward, mouth trailing down my chest, coming dangerously close to my breasts. The electric current of his touch is all consuming and addicting. I press my back into his chest. His hands are the opposite of shy, touching me everywhere except where I’m most desperate. Kirigan’s hand places itself between my thighs, using his thumb to tease my entrance. I let out a needy sound. And then he retracts his hand, grabbing my shoulders and turning me in one swift motion.
“Kirigan.”
His eyes are dark, clouded by something I don’t understand but am too aware that I reciprocate. “Tell me that I have your favor.” His words are taut, bordering on snapping. Kirigan’s grip on me tightens hard enough to bruise, an assertive need taking over him. “That you want me.”
Desire, pride, and rationality twist in my stomach, leaving me too distracted to form words. My gaze drops to the ground on instinct, something Kirigan clearly finds unacceptable because he’s quick to grab my chin and force my eyes to meet his.
I swallow once, courage withering beneath the look in his eyes. It’s as twisted as a spindling shadow, but the look is fierce admirational, appreciation so deep I could drown in it. It scares and consols me all at once. “I want you.” There’s something pained about such powerful emotion. I loathe and am empowered by it all at once. “I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anything.” The words leave my throat scorching with their sincerity.
As soon as the words leave me, he’s closing the distance between us, the slightest exhale of tension leaving his lips before they meet mine, prepared to devour me. I reciprocate his actions on instinct alone. There is no hesitation, no space, and yet it is not enough. Not enough and yet I don’t know how to be closer. But Kirigan does. One of his hands cup my cheek, coaxing me towards him as if I could possibly have the will to leave him. He steps forward, guiding me to step back. I obey fluidly until I feel something hit the back of my legs. It’d startle me if I wasn’t so consumed by his touch.
His mouth begins to move away from my skin. I chase after him, desperate to keep him touching me. He stops me by placing a hand on my shoulder, a warning about my neediness. I pout, but as he studies me I pant. Maybe the excuse for air was a good idea. I don’t fight the uneasiness of my breathing as I hold Kirigan’s gaze. He regards me with a patience I consider unbearable, taking in the determined look in his eyes, my swollen lips, disheveled hair, and the top of my night gown that’s half falling off.
It’s in this moment I realize how much more vulnerable than him I am.
If Kirigan notices any shift in me, he doesn’t mention it. Instead, he adjusts his hand on my cheek, his thumb brushing the hot skin gently. “You are everything.” His voice is cracking glass. “Everything that’s good, at least.”
Maybe he did notice my initial reaction because I am no longer certain that I am the one that’s most vulnerable. “You’re better than you think.” I only say this because it would only weigh on me more to stay silent. “I see it and you don’t want me to.”
His hand continues to stroke my cheek. “I want you to see all of me.” The heavy beating of my heart seems to stall in my chest. Kirigan drops his hand before grasping the hem of my nightgown. He pulls the fabric upwards easily, bundling the fabric above my hip. “I want you to…” He exhales flatly, pulling the fabric upwards even more. Nerves flood my stomach as he leans towards me, kissing down my jaw. “To know me,” he whispers against my throat.
I am nothing but uneven breaths as he mouth moves down my chest, stalling only once he’s reached my breasts. He pushes me forward easily, guiding me so that I’m laying on my bed. He’s quick to move over me, kissing up my neck as he adjusts so that I’m against the headboard.
When he pulls away again, I’m left pouting. He grins, fueled by my disappointment. “Don’t worry,” he breathes, fingers hooking around the waistband of my underwear before tugging it down my legs easily, “I’m nowhere near done with you yet.”
Being so exposed has my doubts flooding back, but Kirigan is quick to fight against my instincts in a way only he seems capable of. He squeezes the inside of my upper thigh before leaning down, pressing his mouth onto the skin his fingers just touched. His kisses here are meant to leave me even more desperate, each nip and fleeting pass of his tongue is lazy yet intentional. I am incapable of doing else besides letting out pathetic whines.
He ignores where I need him most, kissing up my thigh, across my lower stomach, and then down my other thigh. Kirigan continues the pattern across my skin, ignoring any pleas I swallow my pride to give. He is not rushed by my words or cries or the occasional desperate adjustment of my hips.
Kirigan lifts his head slightly, releasing my inner thigh with an obscene ‘pop’. “Patience.” His fingers trail up my thigh and over my core, teasing my entrance with his lithe fingers. “Unless you’re ready to beg?”
It’s a challenge, like everything else. The urge to give him my pride to satisfy the electric desire I’m not sure I’m capable of bearing. But then I note his tense hold on my thigh. A sign of restraint, of want.
“And if I want you to beg for me?” I don’t know where the words come from, but they charge the room with potential.
Something strange crosses his fingers before his lips tilt upwards in a dark way. “Would you like the strength of that? To have someone like me powerless before you?” My face warms. Kirigan leaves a lingering kiss on my thigh before he moves off the bed. I sigh at the loss of contact, but my tired neediness stalls at the sound of his belt coming undone. “I want to see you on your knees.” I sit up carelessly, desperate to obey him. I’m kneeling in front of him in an instant, taking in his length. The size of it has me gaping. “Open your mouth.”
I take the order more eagerly than I should, but I make no move to take him. This is just another challenge. I keep my eyes on his as I stick my tongue out before licking the bottom of his member all the way up to his tip. The sound he lets out is pure sin. I lick his tip slowly, each motion of my tongue is strategic as I finally place him in my mouth. I hollow my cheeks, moving up and down slowly.
The pace is not enough for him, he grips my hair from my scalp as he thrusts into my mouth. The motion is more powerful than I expected and I am left unable to breathe. My slight gag does the opposite of discourage him, he repeats the motion again and again, pushing himself into me until I can feel him in my throat.
The sounds he lets out are a chorus to me, but it’s not enough. I need more control, I need a way to make him beg. I raise a hand, wrapping it around the base that I cannot fit into my mouth. I stroke him once slowly, making a point as I try to push myself back in order to make him want me more.
He groans again. I make a point of pushing myself off of him. Precum protrudes his tip. I lick it off of him slowly. I lick up and down his member in the smallest way possible.
“Y/n,” the restraint in his voice fuels my teasing, “Tease me and you’ll still be overwhelmed by want when the sun rises.”
A pout tugs at my lips before I open my mouth again, taking Kirigan to my limit. He lets me set the pace of my bobs at first, but then he becomes desperate, holding me in place by the roots of my hair as he moans and thrusts into me without restraint. He ignores my choking as he continues until he throws his head back, letting out a quick praise of my name.
He finishes in my mouth and I swallow all he offers me greedly. I back off my knees slowly, throat burning as his member leaves my mouth. “On the bed.” He’s turned into something insatiable. “Now.”
I move back to my bed, laying in the same position as before. He takes his time approaching me. When he finally gets to me, he kisses my thighs easily. I let out a small breath before something that’s pure pleasure meets my core. His tongue laps upwards lazily, grazing my clit but not quite touching it.  My hips thrust towards his face, but with hand he holds me down. A coil in my stomach continues to build as he angles himself more purposefully, tongue finally taking care of my clit. My gasps become less and less reasonable as he continues to lap at all that my body has to offer. The coil tightens, I see stars--and then, like cruelty personified, he pulls away. His absence leaves me ready to cry out.
My desperation only fuels Kirigan as he lines himself with my entrance. Concern twists my stomach as I consider how full my mouth felt when he was in me. I expect some level of warning, but he thrusts into me with no warning. I let out a pathetic cry, but that means nothing to him as he pulls out just to thrust into me with full force again.
“Only I can hurt you,” he demands, thrusting into me as I call out his name. My eyes water at the sensation of such fullness, pleasure and pain combining themselves in a way that leaves me incapable of thought. “Your tears,” he muses, one hand moving to wipe at a tear rolling down my cheek, “Are mine.”
His thrusts become more and more brutal, less and less even. Each movement of his body in mine leaves me begging for more and less at the same time. He continues until the coil in my stomach tenses to the point of breaking.
“Kirigan,” I manage, voice far away, “I’m going t--”
“I know,” he offers, “finish with me, dove.” His hand finds my throat, adding the slightest bit of restrained pressure. “And do not hold in your cries.”
Two more sharp thrusts have us both finishing, calling out for each other as we try to draw out the high of our orgasms together.
We stay intertwined like that for longer than we should, but then Kirigan stands. I envy his ability to do so. I don’t call for him even though I still don’t want to be alone here. A moment later, I hear him approach. I’m too drowsy to ask what he’s doing as a damp towel is wiped against my forehead and inner thighs.
When he’s finished cleaning me, some raw emotion settles in my chest. “Are you leaving?”
Kirigan hesitates. “Not if you don’t want me to.”
I roll over, the motion leaves my body aching. Kirigan accepts my invitation, crawling beneath my sheets and adjusting our bodies so that he can rest his hand on my back.

Angst fic with Damiano David
prompt: a angsty about reader being sad (dami bff) 'cause damiano doesn't feel the same way romantically. ps. there's a lot of victoria de angelis being a angel in this fic, and it's basically about reader going through it.
warnings: none? it's just a bit sad and longer than usual.
Tumblr media
All the soft touches still tingled all over your body. His scent was until now stuck to you, you never thought you’d feel happy to have woody essence along with cigarette smoke on you.
Folding the sleeve of his sweater, you put your tea in one of the cups you always use when you were there. His cotton piece was comfortable, making you didn't regret wearing it in the morning; it was cold and wearing your tank top from the night before didn't feel right. The shorts from yesterday, that were making your legs freeze were enough trouble for you to handle. The remnants of your clothes and belongings were collected from the floor of his room and placed carefully on his headboard, you made sure you were being quiet. Damiano has always been a heavy sleeper, but your counscious prevented you from risking disturbing him when he looks so peaceful. You had already spent much time at his place so you memorized where every thing in his kitchen - and others rooms - was; baking eggs and making tea wasn’t a mystery for you. You had even separated a Tylenol tablet for Damiano, so he could have it with his tea when he woke up with a wicked hangover. He wasn't the type to get drunk and forget what he did, nor were you. Since when you were teenagers, you have gone out and been drunk together a lot of times, and although your feelings were already present, nothing never happened. This time, however, alcohol helped injecting a dose of courage on him. Being honest with yourself, you didn't remember who started it; but the kiss in the midst of the loud music, his hand on the back of your neck, the exchanging glances while dancing and the moment he took you home, they were pretty vividly in your mind. You still felt relaxed, as if his sweaty body was still over yours. Minutes with your eyes closed was enough to feel his eyes roaming your body all over again.
“Hi,” he said in a slurred voice, cutting off your line of thoughts. You jumped, briefly scared but soon turned your attention to reality; a tired Damiano scratching his eyes in front of you.
He was dressed, wearing sweatpants and sweatshirt, duly comfortable according to the weather.
“Headache?” You knew he was. He was always a good drinker, he put up with it a lot, but he was never one to get rid of the effects of alcohol on the next day. You, on the other hand, got on better with this issue; fortunately from the night before, only the good moments remained with you.
“Yeah, a bit,” he giggled. “What a night, I’d say.” He added, in a lower tone. What was acceptable, you also felt a bit weird to be in front of him.
“I got you some pills,” you pointed it out to him on the counter, trying to maintain a normal behavior; with no shacking voice or sweaty hands. Quite impossible. “I made tea too.”
“Dear God, you’re a life saver!” He smiled at you, eyes crinkled and all of his perfect teeth on display. Contagious.
You grinned, feeling your body getting lighter. “No worries. I’m glad to help.”
“Y’know, when I woke up and saw that you weren't there I thought you were gone. You know? Friendship destroyed and that whole thing. I’m happy to see you; relieved.” He took a sip of his tea, and maybe a bit of your heart with it. You were an explosion of feeling when it comes to him, you always have been. “That sweater looks good on you, you can keep it if you want. You know that’s my fave one.” And, yeah, you knew.
The tension on you was no longer intense, comforting you to let out the breath you were holding. “It’s good to hear that,” Your genuine smile managed to say many things, you wished Damiano had noticed you earlier on other occasions. “Do you remember that one time, when we were younger, that you were a bit crazy about a girl; Alice was his name.” You stopped; in need of air - nervous - and watched Dami's attentive face. “She was the first person to whom you dedicated a song, you played it to her at school break. The cutest thing I had ever seen. I think it was there that I realized, a little jealous—“
“Y/N,” his voice had been almost inaudible, causing no effect. Had he really tried?
“How in love I was with you.”
His face was paler than usual, he was paralyzed; speechless. You had never seen Damiano like this, the men was always all over the place in a sweet talkative mess.
It took a few minutes for you to be able to read his expressions and realize how fucked up you were. The dose of happiness in your blood had been able to manipulate you to believe in what you most wanted to happen.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” your blood had gone up to your ears, all you could pay attention to was the pressure in your head. How had you thought that after one specific night he would suddenly decide that he was in love with you? After all of this time that you were just a good friend for him? “I’m truly sorry but I’m don’t—“
“Feel the same way?” You finished. He nodded, apprehensively. You have never felt so stupid. It was a mixture of shame, fear and insecurity. You were unable to look directly at him, you knew that there was no change in following a friendship after what you just said, much less after the night before. You had never been so screwed.
“I’m the one who should be apologizing, I shouldn’t have said a thing.” You whispered, realizing that the lump in your throat had turned into tears that you didn't even know were running down your face.
“Come here,” he opened his arms, walking towards your emotionless frame. You allowed yourself to melt in his grip.
Your tears fell freely; you could even try to hold it back but there was no strength left for you to think about it. Your crying was silent, as was the kitchen room. Your head was full of questions and cursing at yourself. Suddenly you wished Damiano had yelled at you, asked you to get out of there or said he wouldn't never speak to you again. It seemed easier to deal with it in this alternative way than to have him comforting you for loving him. “Shh, it’ll alright. I could never be mad at you.”
He talked about your friendship, but you knew that nothing would end up well. Maybe for him. But for you? It’d not be that easy. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. I should have known better, you were so loving with me last night that I thought— Fuck, we slept together. Which I know isn’t your fault because I don’t even remember who—“
“Stop, Y/N. Look at me,” He was being careful. You were making a person like Damiano calculate his words, that made you feel like pure shit. You stopped talking, looking at him was still difficult. He understood that you wouldn’t be doing so. “That’s fine. I don’t feel bad about you liking me in that way, you’re wonderful. I don't regret anything, last night was great, but I just... don't feel the same. I’d never do anything to hurt you. I can't even imagine how hard it’s being for you right now.” His words sounded sweet and sincere. He had tears in his eyes as well. His ability to be so empathetic to everyone was something you loved the most about him. He was probably killing himself on the inside for breaking you.
You nodded, leaning on the counter. You wanted to ask him if he remembered that he was your first kiss at the age of seven or all the times he sent you vinyl records with some message - that he had written himself - inside the cover. How did he not feel the same, shouldn't you be everything he wanted?
“Dami?” You sighed. Your eyes were red, your face probably swollen. You then looked straight at him; that surprisingly wasn’t much better than you. “Have you ever looked at me and seen me in another way? Something more than just your best friend?”
He didn’t say a thing, just look at you standing there. You get it.
“I think I should go,” You broke the silence that had been formed. You thought about taking his sweater off, but since you weren't wearing anything underneath, you thought it was better not; you’d have to go to his room to change, and then pick up your things only to delay your leaving.
“I can drive you home,” he said in a hush, looking for his car keys.
“It’s okay, a walk will be fine.”
“It’s fucking freezing outside, I can't let you walk over there like that.”
You ignored what he said, walking around the house to the front exit. He tried to grab your arm just for you to step back.
“I know you're just trying to help, but I need to be alone right now, without you near me.” You tried to say it in the most normal way possible, you didn't want to be mean, you only wanted to be fair to yourself.
“Sure.” It was the last thing you heard him say before you left, feeling the cold wind on your body. You didn't know if he had entered his house again or if he was watching you hug yourself as walking slowly to somewhere. You wouldn't dare to look back.
--------------------------------------------------------
“C’mon girl, get up here,” Upon hearing the husky, strong voice, you were relieved.
Victoria wasn’t wearing her usual jewelry and looked like she had just been woken up by force. You weren’t as close to her as you were with the other boys, however, you had never been so happy to see her.
You got in her car. “Thank you,”
“God, you look terrible. You’re fine?” You looked at your reflection in the rearview mirror and well, fine was definitely something you didn't look like.
“Dami asked you to come and get me?” Your throat was scratching, it was difficult to speak.
“Yeah,” she looked at you quickly, but due to your discomfort she backed off. More tears would come. “He didn't say why though, he just said he needed someone to come to you before you froze to death.” She said it in a way that made you laugh, even with your eyes filled with tears. “Did the two of you have a disagreement? You don't have to answer me if you don't want to.”
“Something similar.” You said shakily; due to your crying and chilly. Inside the car was heated, but your body was so cold that it didn't seem to be enough. You tried to snuggle in the passenger seat, letting your head rest against the window like in a sad film. Maybe that’d help.
“Here,” she handed you a coat, without hesitation you took it. “I brought it to you in case you needed it.”
You nodded slowly. “Thank you, Victoria,”
“You can call me Vic, just like everyone else,” she laughed.
You gave her a half smile. “Okay then, thank you very much, Vic,”
The rest of the day would be crying while you curled up in your bed, you’d let yourself feel at your worst; promising that you would try and change that the next day.
———----------------------------------------------
You expected the first few days to be the hardest, but it seemed to get worse with each passing day. Damiano had tried to call you a few times and in all of them you responded dryly, using short words, pretending it’d be okay. You truly tried, but you needed time to process what happened. You told him that, and then time he gave you.
After completing a month of the incident, you noticed how 'dependent' you had become on him. He was always around since you were kids, any problem you had you would look for him to talk to, now you felt like you had nothing. Your friends were friends of his, too, more of his friends than yours. You missed having Thomas failing on teaching you how to play guitar on your couch and besides you thought about calling him - just to distract yourself - you remembered that he was more a friend of Damiano than yours. It’d be weird. None of them contacted you at that time, not even Thomas. You couldn't figure it out if Dami had told them what happened and they decided to give you space or if they just didn't care about you when you wasn’t around Damiano.
Basically, where Dami was you would be and vice versa. It had always been like that.
When you saw that just time wasn’t solving anything, you programmed yourself to live in a way that you were busy all the time. Your routine became work, home and most of the time taking the work to be done also in your home. You didn't feel energized to make new friends, and going out on dates could help momentarily but it wouldn't be fair to go out with someone in the ‘mood’ you were in; then these ideas were soon discarded. Sleeping was impossible, you spent hours rolling over in bed; both for the flashbacks that plagued your mind, but also for the fact that you missed him. The nights were worse when you visit your mother or when she called and said, "Dami never came to see me again." or something like. “Are you still talking to each other? We don't let someone like Damiano leave our lives.”
Deep down, you knew there was no way you could be in love with him forever and that no matter how much it hurt at that moment it would pass. You started to repeat it to yourself as much as you could, so when the boys got in touch with you again you didn't hesitate to answer. Nothing bad would happen, you just need to pretend to be fine. The first to send you a message was Thomas, with simple questions, he acted like nothing had happened, you liked it. Even though it was obvious that Thomas, as one of his boys, would know this in more detail than you did (which was a lie, but at least he knew how Damiano was feeling about it, which you wouldn't know). He updated you about Dami, who was great as always, and you said you were doing well when he asked. You answering him made Ethan talk to you too, although they were all polite and delicate, they seemed more to be sorry than to miss you. Pity wasn’t something you were expecting.
After five months, you still felt like crap. You had tried to stop counting the days that had passed since you last saw Damiano, but it was almost impossible. You could still remember that night vividly, but you were still trying your best to move on; leave it behind. Mysteriously, you wanted to see him, see how he was doing and find out if he had anything else to say but you were afraid to see him, go back to your place as his best friend just to realize that your feelings for him had not abated at all.
“...I haven't seen you in a while. I wonder if you're alright,” you heard when answering your phone. Your head hurt, your eyes stung. You had slept on spreadsheets that you brought home from your work.
“I’m sorry, what?”
“Shit,” she murmured.
You looked at the phone screen. “Sorry Vic, I just woke up I'm still trying to copy.” You laughed to calm her down.
“I thought I didn't have my number,” her voice became softer, as if she was relieved that you had saved it. “I didn't want to wake you up, I'm sorry about that. I just wanted to know how you‘re doing, since I used to see you almost every day, y’know?”
You thought about saying that you saved her number the day Dami called to pick him up at a bar since his phone battery was dead and he was in no condition to drive, but Victoria clearly knew that. “Is Dami with you?”
“No,” her tone matched yours; Dami had told her, now she was being careful with her words. “I saved your number the day Dami needed to call you, in case I needed to call you again.”
“That’s alright, thanks for checking on me then.”
“But he would love to talk to you. He always asks the boys about you or comments on you so that someone can bring you up to the convo. He seems a bit lost when you not ‘round to be honest.”
Somehow hearing that made you happy. Still, the image of discomfort whenever you thought of talking to him scared you. The phone line was filled with silence, until Victoria's husky voice filled the line.
“Anyway, I didn't call you to talk about Damiano. We finally finished the album and decided to have a small celebration at my house,” you giggle at the formality. “We thought you should go, since you were present in more than half of the process. I‘d like you to come. We’d all like you to come.”
———
Your heart accelerated with each step you took as you entered Victoria's house. The rooms had a glow of being calm and the music that was playing helped to make the place cozy. The instrumental of the band reminded you of Fleetwood Mac, and for the little that you knew Vic you would say that the type of sound reminded you of her.
Her house wasn’t crowded, there were only a few people around; some you’ve seen before, some you haven’t. You thundered your fingers over some vinyl that were arranged in a corner, pretending to read them. You were looking for familiar faces, honestly even for Damiano, but for some unknown reason you didn't want to make that obvious. Your eyes captured Thomas talking to some girls, and soon you felt relieved to be dressed according to the occasion; or at least according to the girls who were close to Thomas. It didn't take long until he noticed you standing there, you waved and he came to you. He looked surprised, still he didn't wait for you to say anything else, just wrapped you in his arms so tight you had to ask him to let go in between muffled laughter.
“Vic working miracles! Come, I'll take you to the others.” He said in his cute form, holding your hand as guiding you through the house. “So, how's our best girl?”
Your lips parted in a smile. “I’m alright, pretty much the same to be honest,” there was no time for him to ask another question because you soon spotted Ethan and Victoria with their beers in hands. They seemed to be shocked to see you as well; and it was starting to irritate you for reasons you couldn't explain. Thomas put you behind him, hiding you from the two of them as if they hadn't seen you already. He was being such a sweetheart that he had even managed to soften the anxious butterflies in your stomach; but not enough to keep your mind free of worries and Damiano David. Thomas made a funny noise with his hands as Ethan ignored his attempt to be amusing, pulling you into a hug. Who would have thought you would have missed them so much.
“How long without seeing you, I force you not to do that again. Without you we are just another disorganized mess.” You laughed at his nonsense. Your smile was sincere, like it hadn't been for months, still you were forcing yourself a bit more to appear to be actually 'fine'. You’d like to know if they noticed, even though you were appreciating that they didn’t.
“No worries, I‘m not planning on leaving you guys alone.”
Ethan and Thomas started to discuss about something, Ethan was already under the effect of alcohol, and from time to time they asked for your opinion on how Victoria had been strangely quiet. Atypical of her, but she didn't seem to be out of place or uncomfortable, just quiet.
“Did a cat eat the tongue of my newest attractive friend?”
“Not this time,” she showed you her tongue, and then smirked. Her eyes shone in differently way under your gaze and her make up was making her look more mature. “Are you feelin’ good? Thank you for coming.” Victoria was happy to see you, you could feel that. She might be curious, but pity wasn’t something possible to see in her; different from the other boys. “You must be tired of hearing that question, I'm sorry. It‘ll no longer be asked.”
Her voice was soft, comfortable to hear. “I appreciate that. I really have heard a lot of that, but despite everything, I feel good ‘bout bein’ here.”
“I feel even happier that you came then,” she put her hand gently on your waist. The other two didn't even remember you and Vic were there. “Let's get you something to drink, we bought that red drink Damiano always says you love.”
“No way, it’s bishop cocktail?” You looked at her, a big grin on your face, even though you remembered that this was the drink you were drinking when the universe decided it would be a good idea for you and Dami to have a one-night stand. Just a lovely reminder. “Have you mixed everything up? like the rum with the red wine? or with red drink you just want to say you bought wine?” You asked, ignoring your internal conflicts. Everything would be fine, you ket repeating to yourself.
“In fact, I remember once hearing you comment you didn't mind it being mixed up in a random bottle.”
She pulled a glass bottle out of a bucket full of ice and you couldn't believe she remembered that; given that you could count on your fingers the times that you had actually spoken to her. You didn’t avoid each other, just didn’t have much of the opportunities.
“Oh my god, that’s so fuckin’ lovely.” You whispered. She was quick to pick up a glass and hand it to you, filling it with the so well remembered liquid. You took a sip, and the taste - or alcohol - made your butterflies calmer. “Thanks for that, tastes like heaven.” She took a glass for herself, by her expression she thought it was a waste of rum. “C’mon, it’s not that bad.”
“If you think so, who am I to deny.”
“Don’t be a bummer,” you bumped your shoulder with hers, eliciting a cute sound from her that made you laugh as well.
You wish that sensation had lasted longer, even so when a random girl approached you to ask something, you felt heavy; like a sign. Her hair was golden in perfect waves and her face was angelic in an almost divine way. You might have been overreacting, but she was the type to catch all the attention to herself.
“You’re Y/N, right? I was startin’ to think that I’d never get to know you.” She hugged you tight and you wondered if she really didn't know you. When she released you, you felt your heart breaking right there in front of her. She was wearing Dami's sweater; the same one from that night, the same one that you wore. You wanted to be wrong, but you’d know that sweater from a distance even after years. “He talks so much about you. Can you believe we never met?” She asked, alternating her gaze between you and Victoria. She had been silent, you had forgotten that she was still there. Your head was miles away in thoughts, making you dizzy.
“Hi, Bella,” Victoria said. You remembered that name. Damiano talked about her on a few occasions, anyways he didn't seem to be in love - or you just didn’t want to see that. Maybe you haven’t been able to read him due to your stupid passion. “How’s everything?”
She started talking to Victoria and you couldn't concentrate on listening; all the alcohol in the world would not ease what you were feeling. How long have they been together? What was so special about her that Damiano gives her his favorite sweater? Were they together when you slept together? How did she end up with the same sweater you slept in that day?
She held the cup that was in your hands and handed it to Victoria. “Are you okay, hon’? You look a lil’ unwell. Do you want me to get you some water?”
“No need, I’m alright,” she patted your arm, and then checked your temperature. She was being nice, yet you couldn't pretend to be interested in being there anymore.
Thankfully, Victoria put an arm around your shoulders, asking if you want to join her to have a smoke. “It’ll be good, fresh air will do good to you.”
You agreed. Bella was worried and you felt bad about having to run away from her. She looked like an incredible person, sure Damiano was lucky to have her, that was just too much for you.
“Do this, you will feel better. We can talk later and so you can tell me everything about you and Dami, I’d love to hear you, since you’ve known each other for so long.” You looked for some irony in her voice, but you didn't found it. She was interested in you; after all, you were her boyfriend's best friend. It made sense.
Victoria guided you to the balcony, or at least halfway to it. Midway, someone stopped to talk to her, she tried to dismiss the person, however, as it was a thing related to the album, she would have no way out. “Victoria, it’s fine, I need some time alone.” You whispered to her, patting on her arm. She looked at you reluctantly, but understand. There wouldn't be much she could do for you.
Entering the balcony you felt an absurd urge to cry, your eyes itched and your legs were trembling. Was being in love meant to hurt this much, or was it just a game of chance?
You tried to take a deep breath, ease your heartbeats, telling yourself it was okay. You just needed to calm down. You leaned your body against the wall and watched the place. The plants near the fence - which you didn't know how Victoria had time to take care of them - the streets, and then the sky. Starry and moist, made for good memories that wouldn't come to you. When you felt ready enough to go out and face the party again, you ran into the one you were trying to avoid, Dami. Minutes ago you were anxious with the possibility to see him to know how he was, now you just wanted to run away and wipe these last months out of your mind.
“Y/N,” his body collided with yours while his arms wrapped around you, it was supposed to be a good thing, that you‘d feel safe as the same way you used to feel, except that was uncomfortable now. You couldn't even respond to his hug, for a second you thought you would escape without having to see him. He noticed and gave you space. “I swore that you wouldn't come. My god, it's so good to see you.” He ran his hands through his hair and you remained paralyzed in front of him.
You tried to focus on your breathing so that your voice came out without too many complications. “Yeah... It's good to see you, you look great.” It didn't work, your voice was shaky making your lie sound even worse. He looks great, you didn't lie, he seemed even happier and well rested. You wondered if it was because the album was ready or because now he had Bella.
You forced a smile, but unlike the others, Damiano knew you were acting. He didn’t judge or question, his face became tense, apprehensive. He knew that nothing was right.
“I thought about callin’ you more, goin’ to see you or something. The boys convinced me that it‘d be better not, that it could be even hard for you. I wonder if I shouldn't have done something different to help you because I know I fucked up too.” His hands were undecided between running through his hair and staying inside his pockets. He was nervous, at the same relieved to have spoken to you.
“It wasn't your fault, I’d never blame you for that,” you sighed, smiling slightly. It felt terrible to make him feel that way about it, but there wasn't much you could do. “I'm glad you gave me space when I asked, it's still hard to see you or think about talkin’ to you. It is as if everything that is tormenting me comes all at once.” It was good to say that to him. He nodded and you looked at each other for a while. It wasn't as uncomfortable as you thought it would be.
He was a few feet away from you while you were admiring the night, with your back against the wall. You wanted to leave, maybe go cry in your bed until you fell asleep, still you wanted things to work out with Dami, you wanted that tension and fear of seeing him to get out of your head. Despite that, if it was necessary to suffer in that process, it would not be worth it.
“She’s amazing,” it hurt to say that, but it was the truth. “Bella’s amazing, lucky girl.” You smiled sadly. Saying her name and seeing Dami smiling at that made you thank God for not seeing the two of them together, hugging or kissing. He‘d probably put his hand on her waist while she was talking to one of his friends or giving lightly kisses to her temple, just because he felt like it. Damiano was the cute type, you've seen it before.
“She is, an amazing person. She was all happy to have spoken to you. I told her all about our teenage years and how you always supported the band,” He had told her about you, would he have told her about you being in love with him? You thought to ask, soon giving up. It’d be shameful if so. “If I knew you would be here I’d not have come with her.” It made you think that he had told her.
“What would you do? Would you hide me from her for the rest of your life?” You sighed. it was supposed to sound like a joke, regrettably your voice sounded too cruel for that.
“It’s not like that,” he mumbled. “I was just tryin’ to think of you and—“
“I think I need to go Dami, it’s being too much. I’m sorry.” You needed to get out of there, you couldn't stop the tears anymore and you knew it was a bad idea to talk about her with him.
You took a few steps back just for Damiano to grab at your arm, without putting strength, just like a few months ago, to stop you in front of him. You turned your face away from looking at his eyes, feeling as the tears run down your cheek. You'd never be able to face him, this situation was only proving that to you even more.
“Please, Y/N. Just tell me what I need to do. I will do anything for you to talk to me again. I need you, you know that. The past few weeks have been a mess without you around. Even little my mom misses you. I’d do anything to have you back like before.” He was about to cry, his eyes shone with tears and it was painful to watch. He could do anything for you to stay; except what would make you stay. Unfortunately, it didn't depend only on his good will.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do this,” you said in a lack of air, signaling the space around you with your finger. “But this, this is too much. It kills me to have to be close to you or to be close to things or people that remind me of you, seeing someone else with you doesn't help at all. I still think about the fact that we slept together... I can’t just forget it ‘cause it meant so much to me and to you, to you? it was nothing.” You were out of breath, you just wanted to cry in peace, put everything out until there was nothing left.
He released his hands of you, his face red and damp. It wasn't going to be easy for either of you. Time wouldn't matter; it wouldn’t change a thing because whenever you looked at him you’d wonder about how things could have been like if he had chosen you.
He whispered one more time that he was sorry, then let you go. He could have stopped you, but it's not like he knew what to do anymore.
He watched as you walk out without even looking back.
——-
You went through the party walking fast, avoiding acquaintances and questions about why you were like that. Your body was heavy as well as your conscience. Outside the house the street was empty, the streetlights illuminated the sidewalk and along with the silence of the street you felt invited to sit there. You brought your knees close to your body, trying to breathe calmly. Pulling the air in, and then releasing it in a normal way. Your heart was beating so fast that your whole body was agitated. You tried to stay still. You squeezed your eyes shut, feeling a little dizzy when you saw someone walk out the front door of the house. You dropped your knees, trying to look decent, but gave up as soon as the person came closer to you and you saw that it was Victoria. She sat next to you, pulling you into a hug. You were happy that she went to you.
“I’m fine,” you murmured, hugging her waist and hiding your face in the fabric of her shirt.
“Stop saying that you’re fine when you’re far from being fine, I won’t judge you sweetheart,” she comforted you, giving you a extra squeezing. You were far from being alright, but it helped, having someone there helped.
She placed her chin on top of your head, soothing you until your crying softened. She rubbed your back and whispered that it’d be okay.
“Did Damiano send you here?”
“No, darlin’. He said that you had talked, and then you had to leave, he didn't look well, I thought you wouldn't be either.”
“And then you decided to look out for me?” You laughed, still tucked in her warm arms.
“Yep, sounds like you need me, don’t you think?” She laughed too, causing the vibration of her chest next to yours make you feel taken in.
“Why’s love so painful?”
Victoria didn't answer, she was thoughtful for a few minutes, and then she stood up, holding out her hand for you.
“What?”
“I won’t be taking no as an answer, you’ll get in the car with me and we will do something, anything, drink milk shakes, fill up our bellies with pizza ‘til we can't take it anymore, or even rob a bank.” She held you by the waist, lifting you up for her. “Please,”
You didn't see why not to accept. There was nothing worse that could get even worse at the moment, maybe going somewhere would do you good. “Even rob a bank?” She nodded, pointing to where her car was.
A smile spreading across her lovely face as you realized you’d go anywhere she wanted with her. “Yes, even robbing a bank.”

Want to hear a joke that’s really in poor taste? The Mother Superior of the famous Mary Magdalene Convent (isn’t that ironic) is being accused of hosting ‘parties’ to the oh so loving convent donors. And you know who isn’t invited to those parties? Jesus Christ. Because the Devil sure loves to be a part of them! Drugs, orgies, alcohol, prostitution, even black masses... you name it! Everything that is unholy happens in the so-called house of holiness, and if that isn’t a bad taste joke, I don’t know what is.
So here I am now, driving towards the Devil’s den: the Mary Magdalene convent for three torturous days of interviews. Out of all of the reporters from The New York Times, of course I was the one who drew the short straw and got assigned this article. Some people see this as a career changing opportunity... a blessing, but me? I see it as a fucking curse! I don’t like religion, I don’t like churches, I don’t like priests and I sure as hell don’t like nuns! Anything that has the word “holy” in it, I prefer to be as far away as I possibly can from. But today was not my lucky day….no, today was the day that I was going to be tested. The only thing I’m hoping for is to not fail.
I knocked on the convent’s door and a young lady answered me.
“Hi, good morning. I’m Damian Priest, reporter from The New York Times and I’m here for an interview with” I looked down at my notepad “Mrs. Y/N L/N? Whom I believe is the Mother Superior”
The young girl only nodded once and motioned for me to follow her, without saying a word.
I followed her in, mesmerized by the size of the convent, the whole place was fancy as fuck on the inside. Art pieces from famous painters were displayed on the walls, modern furniture, dim lights that made the place look cozy and inviting. *What a scam* I thought to myself. The young lady in front of me suddenly stopped walking and pointed towards the door in front of her before turning around and leaving.
Presuming that it was the Mother Superior’s office, I knocked on the door twice before someone told me to come in. You see, when they told me I was going to be interviewing the Mother Superior of a convent, the last thing I expected was for her to not only be beautiful, but young (considering I was under the impression that women in that position were around sixty years old). She was breathtaking to say the least! Soft features, her skin had an angelic glow to it and there was something in her eyes that trapped you in them...something you could not turn your gaze away from no matter how bad you wanted to.
“Mr. Priest, please sit down” She smiled
I nodded and sat on the chair in front of her desk
“Thank you for taking some time out of your busy schedule to speak with me, Mother Y/L/N-“
“Please, call me Y/N” Her sultry voice spoke
“Y/N” I tested the word on my lips and it sounded oddly pleasant
She smiled softly and...fuck she’s gorgeous! Her beauty was a painful and constant reminder of what you couldn’t have, couldn’t touch, couldn’t-“
“Mr. Priest?” She said softly
“Damian”
“Damian, would you like something to drink? Coffee, water, juice, tea perhaps?”
“No, I’m good. Thank you” I answered, while grabbing my notepad and a pen out of my backpack. Clearing my throat, I said “Can we get started with the pre-interview?”
“Of course” She smiled widely and reached for a cigarette pack on top of the table, which made me raise an eyebrow
“We all have our dirty little secrets, don’t we, Damian?” She asked, licking the cigarette filter before sucking it
*Am I going crazy?* I thought to myself
“Damian? Your first question is?” She giggled
“Ummm” I cleared my throat once again “Y/N, recently the convent was involved in a huge scandal involving drugs, prostitution, orgies and black masses. Would you like to clarify why an institution that’s deeply connected to the church is in the middle of something so profane?”
She grinned “God is in the most profane things, Damian. After all, the sinners are the ones who need Him the most, aren’t they?”
“I’m not sure if I follow-”
“You see” She took a long drag on her cigarette and walked towards me “God is our Lord and savior. He forgives us from our sins, grants us forgiveness to our most foul actions” She sat down on the chair beside me “If you steal from someone and repent; He’ll forgive you, kill someone and repent; He’ll save you, cheat on your wife with the hot, young next door neighbor and repent; He’ll brush it underneath the carpet and pretend it never happened” She shrugged “God doesn’t judge, Damian. He only forgives” She leaned forward on the arm of the chair, until she was uncomfortably close to me “So if the big boss himself doesn't judge anyone, then why should I?”
“And what does judgment have to do with drugs, orgies and sin?”
She smiled “How can God forgive you if you don’t sin, Damian?”
“And how can God forgive his so-called followers who incite others to sin, Y/N?”
“Incite others to sin?” She chuckled “Are you talking about the allegations, the donors or yourself?” She smirked
………………………………………………….......................
Since we’re so far from town I was informed that I would have to spend the night at the convent. They showed me my bedroom and it looked pretty fancy. King size bed, Egyptian sheets, expensive furniture. Everything was oddly normal, except for the weird dream I recalled having. I was at the convent, lost, calling for help because I somehow ended up locked in here. I was inside what looked like a large basement, the room was only lit by red lights, a faint smell of leather took over my nostrils as I heard someone moaning softly in my ear…a woman. And the weirdest thing was that I could’ve sworn I felt her breath against my ear. Needless to say I woke up with my dick as hard as a rock and had to spend a solid thirty minutes trying to get rid of a very painful boner, which did not leave me no matter how many times I came. Half hard and inside a convent...yeah, I’m definitely going to Hell!
“How did you sleep, Damian?” Was the first thing I was asked when I walked into the Mother Superior’s office in the morning. Something in her voice told me she knew exactly what I had done underneath the shower.
“Good”
“I bet you woke up feeling much better after a good night of rest, right?” She smiled devilishly and I just nodded
“Would you mind if we took a tour through the convent at some point?” I asked, quickly changing subjects
“Of course not! Let me know when you want one”
I nodded and began to ask my questions
“So, why do so many men keep coming and going from this convent? Seems like the place men shouldn’t be”
“The only men who come to the convent, Damian, are maintenance, the donors for the ‘thank you parties’ we host and now you” She smiled
“How do you get so many people to keep donating?”
“We don’t oblige anyone to do anything. People are still kind enough to see the work we do for those in need and they get touched by it. So God is the one who inspires them to donate, Damian. Not me”
“I’ve noticed a lot of fancy things here. Shouldn’t the money be going to something else?”
“The ‘fancy’ things you see are gifts from the donors. Things they felt in their hearts they should give us freely. We don’t buy things for the convent, apart from food. That’s one of the rules”
“Speaking of rules” I looked at her “Why are you smoking? Isn't that not allowed?”
“We don’t have rules against smoking here, Damian. The choice to do it or not is personal, but there are no rules for it. It’s not forbidden or a sin. Now, if you think nuns shouldn’t smoke, I suggest you pay a visit to the convents in Rome and give them a piece of your mind about their choices regarding health”
I chuckled at her comeback
“Why so cynical about our good intentions?” She licked her lips
“Because you don’t have any” I spat
“We live for helping those in need, Damian” She pointed towards my visible bulge
“Helping those in need, huh? And what do you get out of it?”
She walked towards me “Satisfaction in its purest form” She lifted one hand up and caressed my lower belly over my shirt “It’s incredible how much providing relief to others can trigger the biggest pleasure in our bodies...to see their eyes semi-closed in...relief is so rewarding to me”
I cleared my throat and shifted uncomfortably. “And just how needy do these people have to be?” I was speaking in financial terms of course
“Very needy” Her hand toyed with my jeans button “Some even have trouble sleeping due to their neediness, so you can see how a helping hand goes so well in this case...even the right mouth, you know to profess the Lord’s word”
“And just how many of these ‘charitable acts’ have you been involved with?” I felt my cock grow harder and harder
“Directly? Only when things get too hard, Damian” Her hand brushed against my hard bulge “That’s when I offer my help, so things can stop getting so hard and painful”
I gulped as I tried to shift away from her touch “So what, you just have all these other poor girls do your dirty work for you?” I try to keep my serious composure
“I’m not afraid of getting dirty, Damian. The girls do what they can, what they’re instructed to...but sometimes things get so hard that I have no other option but intervene” She pulled the fly of my jeans down “Then, once the seed of evil is finally spilled, things can go back to being soft again” She leaned in closer “Would you like a demonstration, Damian? I’m sure you have some kind of evil inside you that needs to be released” She asked with a sinister smile reaching her hand into the waistband of my boxer briefs
“I’m just here for work, Y/N, I have nothing to donate”
“Don’t worry about it. My girls will not be involved in this...it will be our little secret”
“I would like the tour now, please”
She smirked “Of course” and stepped away from me “This way” She went out the door as if nothing had happened
“Psycho bitch” I whispered to myself, as I pulled the fly of my jeans up and tied my hoodie around my waist to cover up the boner.
“This way we have the nuns bedrooms” She pointed towards a hallway “Kitchen, restrooms, archives, laundry room, storage for cleaning supplies, pantry” She explained each room, until we were outside “The patio, garden; where we cultivate flowers, fruits and vegetables, garage and the chapel is this way”
She walked towards a medium sized chapel in the middle of the garden, it looked like a regular chapel on the inside. It had an altar with a bible on it, a pulpit, a big cross, devotional statues of catholic saints, wooden benches and a confessional. Candles were lit up all over the place and everything looked normal. Scarily normal, until I noticed a few nuns who were sat on one of the benches staring at me with a weird look on their eyes
“Why are they looking at me like that?” I asked Y/N
“Like what?”
“Like, with...” I trailed off
“With desire?” She whispered in a mocking tone
I looked down at her speechless
“One could say that you’re a little too obsessed with the lust theme, Damian” She smiled “It’s all you can think about ever since you got here, dear. You should be careful” She licked her lips and pulled me by my hand towards her office again.
………………………........................................................
Later that night while I was trying to get some sleep, I began to hear some mumbling. Muffled voices kept saying something unintelligible and filling up the bedroom with mainly female voices. But one of the voices sounded too familiar to me...
I stood up from the bed and began to search in the room where those voices could be coming from, and as I almost gave up, I found it. A small hole of the size of a coin, in the concrete wall in front of my bed. Scooting closer to the wall, I knelt down and peeked through the hole, but weirdly enough, the room was pitch black. The mumbling started again and they soon became moans. Above all the moaning voices, one stood out to me. It was Y/N’s voice, she moaned softly while she said something I couldn’t quite understand. Her voice was filled with lust, her moans were pornographic and I could swear she was moaning my name. It both frightened and turned me on, so I did what any wise man would do. I returned to the bed, laid down and jerked off before falling into a deep slumber.
..................................................................................
“Wake up” Someone softly whispered in my ear
I quickly opened my eyes and my heart was beating at a frantic pace due to the fright.
A young girl was sitting down on my bed “Please, follow me” was all she said before standing up and leaving my room
I was so confused that I didn’t even bother to grab a t-shirt, so I just followed her down the hall barefoot and only with a pair of sweatpants on. Looking outside the hallway windows, I could see that the sky was still dark, which could only mean it was the late hours of morning.
She took me inside the laundry room and pressed a button underneath the folding clothes table. A door opened and a red light lit up the dark wooden stairs. I continued to follow her down the stairs, and we began to walk down a long hallway that looked more like a basement. The whole place had only red lights as the lighting source, so it took my eyes a while to get used to it.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked, but only received silence as a response
We walked for what felt like ten minutes until we reached a black wooden door with an iron door knocker. She knocked on the door four times and left.
“Is this a prank?” I asked myself, after five minutes of standing there alone. Suddenly the door opened, but I couldn’t see anything other than darkness ahead
“Hello?” I called from the doorway, but no one answered back
The thing that made me such a great reporter was my utter curiosity, and even with all my senses screaming ‘don’t go in there!’ I decided to listen to my curious side instead, and went into the room. As soon as I stepped a foot inside, the door behind me closed shut.
The room was pitch black and I stumbled across a few items. I placed my hand on top of what felt like a table so I could try to guide myself through the room, at least back to the door again so I could leave. When suddenly I felt several pairs of soft hands on my torso pulling me back.
“What the fuck?” I gasped in shock
But before I could make a move, my wrists and ankles were tied to a wooden surface and a red light turned on in the room
Five nuns were in front of me, staring silently at my body
“Leave” Someone said from behind me, and the nuns obeyed and left
“I would be lying if I said you weren’t a beautiful sight” Y/N said, and and walked in front of me
“You psycho bitch” I growled and pulled at the restraints “Let me go!”
She smiled “Oh Damian...You don’t want that!” Her nails softly scratched my lower belly “And neither do I”
“You’re sick! Let me go, you fucking-“
“Na ah” She slapped me across the face “I’m done playing these pretending games” She lit up a cigarette “Pretend you didn’t jerk off to my moans, pretending you don’t want to fuck me...that gets tiring” She dipped her hand inside my sweatpants and found my semi hard bulge “You’ve wanted to fuck me ever since you laid eyes on me” She giggled and I licked my dry lips
“Those sinful, filthy, thoughts you’ve had, Damian” She closed her fist around my erection “You wanted to know what we do here, right? We purge that demon out of you” And scooted closer until her lips brushed against my own with every word she spoke
“We send him away, so he can’t bother you anymore” She freed my cock from my pants and began to pump her hand up and down “We release you from the seed of evil”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” I panted
Y/N knelt down in front of me and darted her tongue out, licking my slit “Give me the seed of evil, Damian” and gave an open mouth kiss on my tip “Feed me with it” Licked the underside of my shaft “Release yourself from what’s been bothering you ever since you got here” Darting her tongue out “Use me to purify your soul” And opened her mouth wider.
At such a sight I had no other option but to buck my hips forward…
And chase for my cleansing
If you’re comfortable with it, please let me know your thoughts on this? Feedbacks are always appreciated 🥰😘

Y’all, suptober got me doing things I’ve never even thought I should attempt. Here’s my lil’ fic for day 4, enjoy!
Thank you @thescreechowl for reading it over and editing!
Day Four: Secrets
The bunker is standing silent as Dean and Cas quietly do their nightly check; lock all doors, double check traps and sigils and ensure salt-filled bottles are in every room. Sam wraps up in the bathroom as Jack is standing by the kitchen table admiring his haul from the night's adventure.
“Hey Jack, time for bed”
“Just one more minute? I can’t believe people just give out free candy!”
“I know, it’s one of the wonderful marvels of this tradition”
“Can I have one more piece, please, please, please?”
“You’ve had enough for tonight, you won’t be able to fall asleep. It’ll be here in the morning and you can have as much as you want tomorrow, okay?”
“...okay”
As Sam turns to leave the kitchen, he can’t help but look back at Jack, in awe. He still holds that child-like wonder and he still sees the joy in little traditions like these. It’s been years since Sam has thought about Halloween in this way. October 31st is specially reserved for the real horrors and when monsters come out to play more freely. He can’t remember when he started to get into the Halloween spirit, but all he knows is that he wants Jack to enjoy all the things this world has to offer.
“Sammy, you good to turn in for the night?”
“Ya, just convincing Jack to not eat his entire stash of candy in one go”
“Well, he better save some for me”
“I’ll be sure to let him know to hide it”
Sam chuckles and leaves to retire for the night. As Dean watches Jack, Cas approaches him.
“Everything has been checked and checked again, you ready for bed?”
Dean looks over at Cas and gives him his prized shit eating grin.
“Well everything outside of our room checks out, but there is something I’ll need to double check… in bed … and I’ll need your help with that”
Cas rolls his eyes but encourages the sentiment with a smile. Dean always has a way of taking anything they did and somehow turning it to being alone in his bedroom. Jack starts to count his candy and creates little piles.
“...104, 105, 106. Okay this pile will be for tomorrow, this pile will be for the next day.”
“Okay dude, time to wrap it up, it’ll be here tomorrow”
Jack starts to argue but lets out a yawn and rubs his eyes lazily as Cas guides him out of the kitchen. Dean starts to leave but turns around and eyes the candy piles.
“Hmm, maybe, just one ...“
He makes his way over to the kitchen table and stops as he admires the little hills of candy Jack has formed. Dean notices Jack’s scribbly handwriting and looks closer. Beside each pile, Jack wrote each of their names with an arrow pointing to a serving of candy. Sam has the smallest pile of candy, mainly chewing gum and colourful berries. Cas has a slightly larger pile than Sam, stacked with Reese's peanut butter cups. The third and fourth piles are side by side, one completely larger than the rest, and Dean lets out a chuckle as he can guess who has the largest pile.
As he reaches over to the third pile, he notices the name written beside it on a sticky note.
‘Jack’
Dean thinks he reads it wrong, but as he glances over to the largest pile of candy, his name was written on a sticky note, pointing to it. In disbelief, he sighs and smiles to himself. Even though this kid walked to every door, walked over 10 blocks to get this candy, he still chooses to share it. Dean thanks his lucky stars because he was given one heck of a kid.
“What are you doing? Dean, hands up and step away from the candy”
“Will you arrest and punish me if I don't listen?” he smirks.
“I can’t make any promises, but if you touch even one piece, I’ll have to hold you accountable for your actions”
Those were all the words Dean needed to hear before he dives into the gargantuan heap of candy. He quickly stuffs his hands into his pockets and, without looking down, unwraps a piece of chocolate and pops it into his mouth. Cas gasps dramatically and points his fingers in a gun at Dean. Dean drops the empty wrapper to the floor and throws his hands in the air.
“Oh you’re in big trouble, sir”
“I’m counting on it”
Cas closes the space between them and takes Dean's hands into his. When he leads him away from the table, Dean smirks and pulls Cas close while they saunter out of the kitchen.
“Do you think Jack’ll notice that I swiped a few pieces?”
“I’m sure he’s counted each piece so, yes”
“What’ll you say to him if he asks”
“That … a candy ghoul followed us home and took some in the night”
“Like a reverse santa?”
“Sure”
“Okay, it’ll be our little secret”
Fin.

Usopp is my favorite character! And I was so excited to see that you love him too 🥰 there aren’t many stories about him and I was wondering if I could ask that you write another when you found the time? Maybe something smutty? Or fluffy? Or both after he and reader reunite again after the time skip? Where he’s confident now that reader will notice him but obvi they already did ♥️
UHM I love Usopp so fucking much you are so valid he's one of my fav characters of all time.
SO rereading your request after I got an idea, I realized that you asked for… a hook up post time skip but like. I couldn’t not do a big fluffy “i missed you so much” reunion after two years so they have a prev relationship but returned with Usopp being more confident and reader learning things about themself haha.
This is so fluffy and so gushy but also nsfw. It’s cringe worthy sweet because I’m a fucking sucker for Usopp and I want him to be happy.
This turned out so much longer than I meant for it to, bc I was just going to do a drabble but here’s this 1900 word fic, haha.
TLDR: MUSHY fic bc Usopp deserves happiness.
NSFW undercut but it's just like.. Very loving emotional sex. No real kinks but there is crying during sex, but not written to be kinky.

“USOPP!” You screamed, running at top speed, past all of your other crew mates and straight into the arms of your boyfriend. Sure you were happy to see the other Straw Hats, but there was only one man who your heart beat for, and finally after two years apart, here he was.
He braced himself for your hug and you felt him lift you up and spin you around in his arms, “[y/n] oh my god I missed you!” He was all smiles, kissing across your face and holding you as close as he could, your feet still far from the ground.
His arms were more defined, muscles you weren’t used to feeling, flexing against your body to hold you up. “Wow you’ve been busy,” You smiled, kissing him back, hands finding their way to his strong arms. “Are you sure this is my Usopp?”
He laughed, setting you down, smiling the bright smile you missed so much, “What, you don’t remember all of this?” He joked, flexing both of his arms for you, acting out mock scenes of strength and showing off the rippling muscles that you didn’t quite know that you were into until well, just now.
You touched his exposed chest, fingers lingering over hard abs, “Well maybe I just forgot how absolutely strong my brave warrior was..”
You smiled at him, raising your chin to kiss his soft lips. Your words causing him to blush a bit, clearly melting at your praise, before returning your kiss, his arms wrapping around you again, hands in the small of your back to hold you close to him as he deepened the kiss passionately, clearly he had missed you just as much, ached for you just as much. These past two years had been hell, but finally everyone was back together.
“Get a room you two,” You heard someone laugh from behind you, and you suddenly realized how handsy you were being, how absolutely embarrassingly clingy you were being, causing you to flush a beet red.
The party the first night back on the Sunny was, no contest, one of the most fun nights you had ever had with your crew. Sanji had prepared a feast so big that even Luffy was having trouble by the end of the night, everyone catching each other up on the years apart and enjoying being with their family again. Everyone had grown so much in two years, both in visibly noticeable differences and emotionally. Everyone was still who you remembered, but matured. You supposed the same thing could be said about yourself, even though you couldn’t point out in yourself what had changed.
Drinks had flowed freely, Brook providing the most excellent of tunes, laughter and familiarity unbounded. How you had missed this. More than you realized. Just being together, being a family and feeling comfortable.
It was getting late now, and your head swam a bit from the drinks in you, despite how much you had eaten to soak it up. Cuddled up under the tangerine trees on the deck you were wrapped in Usopp’s arms, sitting between his thighs, his face pressed between your neck and collarbone comfortably, occasionally leaving kisses. He hummed in tune to the music on the deck below, Brook playing the piano and singing, Luffy and Sanji had drunkenly joined in singing along, not keeping the tune nearly as well.
“I missed you so much,” He said, arms squeezing you tightly, like he couldn’t get close enough, “I was so worried about you, I wish I could have just heard your voice.”
“C’mon, Uso,” You smiled, leaning against him and holding his arms under yours sweetly, “I’m a big girl, you know I can hold my own.”
“You’re even more beautiful than the last time I saw you,” He said, the tone in his voice so honest and clear with you, even tinged with the slur of his drink. “I must be the luckiest man sailing the seas.”
Your face was flushed, thankful for the darkening sky hiding it, “Shush you, it’s just the drink talking.” You patted his arm with your hand, as if to shush him.
“I mean it, you’re so gorgeous, you’re everything I’ve ever dreamed about my whole life,” His voice broke a little and you felt hot tears on your shoulder, “I was worried you wouldn’t wait for me the two years, I’d die if you realized how much better you were than me.”
“No no, none of that!” You said, spinning around suddenly, bumping noses with him as you turned, “You’re so much more than what you think of yourself.” You locked lips with the marksman, kissing deeper and more brazen than you meant, the passion getting to you.
His lips parted, and you took the opportunity to slip your tongue between them, his hands finding your hips as he deepened the kiss. Has he always been this good at kissing? Or was it the drink? Or how much you had missed each other's bodies?
“If we snuck off to the rooms, no one would notice,” You whispered, lips still touching his lips as you spoke. You smiled as you watched the blush spread across his cheeks, one thing hadn’t changed at least, he was so easy to fluster.
Your hand trailed down his chest, lingering on his waist, teasing at the last section of exposed skin before his trousers.
He tried to stutter out a reply, but ended up just nodding his head quickly as a response, lifting you up in a quick motion, carrying you bridal style down to the cabins below deck.
He set you down gently on the bed, treating you like a princess, kissing you and trailing those kisses down to your neck and chest, unbuttoning your blouse and kissing your breasts gently, always using such a soft touch with you.
“You’re so gorgeous,” He whispered against your skin, “So perfect.”
He climbed into bed next to you, hands slipping under your trousers, touching your body over your undergarments, his lips finding yours again, kissing you as you found your hands exploring his body. It would take some getting used to the new terrain under your fingers, where he was such a beanpole before, he had obviously trained so hard over the last two years, and his body was so familiar but so different.
Kissing and fondling quickly becoming more heated between you, he unbuttoned his coveralls, kicking them off his legs to the ground below the bed. You followed suit in quick succession, tossing your blouse aside and kicking off trousers to join his on the floor. His hands wrapped around your back to unhook your bra without breaking the kiss, you slipping your arms free of the straps and letting him toss it away.
His strong hand, more rough than you remembered, found its way to your heat again, slipping his hand under your panties, fumbling a bit in the moment before finding your clit with a gasp from you, some things hadn’t changed, really. His fingers slipped down your slit to find the moistening of your opening, dragging your slick back up to your clit to make his movements smoother, rolling your clit in circles under his fingers.
His mouth left yours, to trail kisses to your neck, leaving gentle marks against your skin, adjusting his weight on the bed until his mouth was at your breasts, his other hand cupping a breast to his mouth, a flash of tongue against your nipple before he sucked it into his mouth, kneading the soft flesh in his calloused hand.
“Usopp, please,” You moaned under his ministrations on your body, “I want you.”
You felt him freeze a bit, always easy to fluster, always easy to shy away. You stifled a laugh, “C’mon Uso~” you purred, arching your back and adjusting your legs to press your thigh against his member through his boxers, feeling the damp of his precum even through his underwear. “Please?”
“W-well I can’t very well deny such a request from a Goddess, can I?” He said masking a stutter and sliding your underwear from your hips before pulling his off and adjusting.
You looked down, eyes widening, “Usopp I know.. I keep saying you’ve grown but.. Did your dick.. Get bigger?” There was no doubt to you that there was at least another inch on your boyfriend’s length.
He looked down, having not thought about it before, “Uh.. oh.. Maybe?” He laughed, “Not too scary for you I hope.”
“No,” You said, wrapping your hands around his neck and pulling him down on top of you, “Just be gentle with me, it’s been a while even without the extra size..”
“Always,” He said, kissing you again as he slid his length into your waiting sex, letting you adjust to his cock as he did. Fully inside of you he gave you a moment to adjust, “Ready?” He said, and you nodded, eyes half lidded and biting your lip.
He started thrusting against you, a steady pace, his hands firmly gripping your hips to piston his hips against you. The air between you was hot and heavy, full of your desperate breath, your mouths barely separating except to let moans slip between your lips. Your hands found his hair, slipping your hands to the back of his head, fingers threaded through his thick curls, gripping him closer to you as his pace quickened from the passion between you.
It wasn’t long before you felt the familiar feeling of an orgasm building within you, taut like a rubberband, ready to snap with each pump of his hips into you, his pace steady but getting sloppier as he neared his own orgasm.
You wrapped your legs around his waist, holding him closer to you, his pumping action now more shallow but hitting you deeper, rubbing that sweet spot inside you that you swear he wasn’t long enough to hit the last time you were together, and god it was driving you crazy.
“I’m going to cum, Usopp,” You moaned against his lips, arching your back against his chest and pressing your sex into him desperately.
“Come for me, baby,” He moaned, pulling you into him rhythmically, “I’m close too.” His confidence in telling you to come for him was all it took to push you to that edge, feeling your orgasm take over your body you moaned his name loudly, fingers gripping in his hair for dear life.
Your body tightening on his cock was all it took for him to release his own orgasm, pumping inside you until your own orgasm had subsided, then pulling out to splash his slick jizz across your stomach, secondary pumps splashing lower, covering your body in his seed.
His lips met yours again and you felt tears splash your cheeks as he let his body fall into yours, curling up next to you to hold you close to him. “I love you so much, so so much,” he cried, huge tears pooling in the corners of his eyes.
You felt your own tears pooling, threatening to spill over your lids. “Shuush, don’t cry Usopp,” you trailed your hand across his cheek lovingly, “I love you so much, you’re my everything.”
“What did I do to deserve you?” He said, looking into your eyes with all the love and devotion in his heart.
“I could say the same thing, my darling.” You said, kissing his nose, “We’ll never be apart again.”

The Oncoming Storm Part 7: Symptom
Liu Kang x Reader and Kung Lao x Reader (gonna do both, two paths!)
Three days in a row on accident because I have 0 self control. Someone on ao3 suggested a hot spring scene but it didn't fit the narrative- SO I have also written two "interludes" in the springs. I will post those both this weekend for funsies. No idea where they fit in the story but they're fun so who cares? Haha.
Part 6 Interlude One: Electricity in the Springs (Kung Lao x Reader) Interlude Two: Steam (Liu Kang x Reader) Part 8 Chapter Index
Together you walked through the temple, Kung Lao leading you down several flights of stairs, further into the mountainside. He chatted with you casually about several of the halls that you passed; what was down them and places he had explored with Liu Kang when they had been strictly forbidden to do so. You were grateful for the white noise of conversation. It was even nostalgic. He’d talk like this when he’d come to visit you at your Grandma’s. He’d talk and talk about anything and everything, even if you never said a word.
“Y/N?” He slowed his walk. You turned toward him and stopped walking just in front of where he’d now stopped. “Can I ask you something? And will you be honest with me?”
“Depends on the question, Kung Lao.”
“Are you sweet on Liu Kang?”
Completely floored by the boldness of his accusation, you stuttered and then laughed uncomfortably. “Excuse me?”
“I’m just curious. You lit up when he joined us in the pit.” He seemed barely able to say the words without gagging though there was a playful smile on his lips still.
“I don’t remember you being such a gossip.”
“You’re avoiding answering the question, Y/N.”
With a roll of your eyes, you shoved his shoulder. “I’m not dignifying that with an answer.” You were flustered to say the very least. Kung Lao was so damn forward, a far cry from how any of the time you’d spent with Liu Kang had been. He’d just outright asked! Of course you were sweet on Liu Kang, of course you were.
“Oh? Well, then what about me?” He tapped his chest with a childlike grin. “Were you ever sweet on me? Are you still?”
“You know, I am seriously considering throwing ink at you again.” You batted your eyelashes and spoke in a teasing sort of way. The questions were intrusive but he said them in such a way that it was actually comical. It was funny, honestly, to think that you’d fallen right back into a rapport that you’d had with Kung Lao when you were kids. He stepped in front of you to stop you from continuing forward. Then he pointed to your left. You followed him down the hall and then he leaned against the wall near an opening that led down yet another hall. He tapped the sign to his left that read ‘women only’.
“I can’t go past here without getting in trouble.” He held his arm out to stop you as you made to walk past him to further avoid awkward conversation. He didn’t need to say anything. The look he gave you was enough to know that he wanted an answer.
“I’m not thinking about that right now, Kung Lao. I’ve got ink in places that I don’t want to discuss with you.” You pouted and knocked his arm aside. He pulled it back. “What’s going on with you? You just got back and we’ve barely spoken since, you know, you died.” You emphasized the word more dramatically than necessary. The humidity beyond the hall in front of you was already filling the hall and you craved the comfort of clean, hot water. “These are silly questions, anyway.” Your nerves were very much shining through. You weren’t ready to admit anything to anyone. The last thing you wanted was Kung Lao meddling.
“I brought you something, that’s all.”
“I feel like this something comes with terms and conditions with the way that you’re talking.”
“Not at all. But if you’re sweet on Liu Kang then it might make things weird.”
“Do whatever you want, Kung Lao, just do it quickly. The ink is starting to crust and this conversation has made me so uncomfortable.”
“I didn’t say that I wasn’t going to give it to you no matter what your answer had been. I was just trying to weasel an answer out of you.” He smirked and you rolled your eyes.
“Some things never change.” Despite your obvious frustration, you couldn’t help but smile. Kung Lao had been a huge comfort to you when things had been at their most difficult in your youth. It was as though he’d never left. The lack of distance you felt between you was strange and you struggled to wrap your mind around it. You had to remind yourself that you hadn’t seen him in almost twenty years. “You’re such a pest, Kung Lao.”
You walked through the doorway but Kung Lao grasped your wrist and twisted you back to face him. You made a sound of surprise and stumbled into him. He caught you with a laugh.
“You’re clumsier than I expected after how you fought earlier.”
“Kung Lao, I swear.”
He reached between the folds of his shirt and withdrew a small purple flower. Your stomach dropped and you stared with your mouth hanging open, having been forming an empty threat. The flower. It was the exact same kind of flower that he’d given you the last time that you’d seen him when you’d been kids. Your heart had practically stopped in your chest.
“I made a detour on the way back. You’re right. They don’t grow in town anymore. Had to look around a bit before I found one.”
“Kung Lao…” Chills raced down your spine and you swallowed the sudden lump in your throat before reaching to grasp the flower. Kung Lao pulled it out of your reach.
“I thought that instead of teasing you like I used to as a dumb kid that I would be better off making a kind gesture.” Much to your surprise, he took your hand and placed the precious flower in your palm.
“I… uh…” You stuttered, feeling just about as clueless as you sounded.
“Enjoy the springs, Y/N. You can have your privacy for now but next time we’re joining you.” He patted your shoulder then tipped his hat and turned, walking away with a skip in his step down the hall.
You watched him go and sighed, resting your back against the stone wall while staring at the flower that he’d left you with. It was a precious little thing, with soft rows of petals that seemed frail but held on stronger than they looked. There was a small speck of pollen at its center and the stem was just long enough that you could wrap your fist around it. You’d gone looking for those flowers once in hopes of keeping them in the garden behind the dojo. There hadn’t been any and when you’d asked about them, no one knew where you could find one. It had been so long since you’d seen one living that you’d forgotten how resilient and perfect they were.
It seemed a small thing but it was also a huge gesture. He hadn’t said what the gesture meant but he had implied it well enough. You were surprised by how touched you were by the flower. If he’d caught you out there staring at the flower, then you would have never heard the end of it. He’d likely have teased you for being sweet on him.
You turned and entered the hall just to your left. There was a changing room with rudimentary waterflow systems so that you could clean off before going into the actual springs. You had never been so grateful for running water in your life. Ink pooled at your feet as you showered off, scrubbing as much of the ink away as you could. As you did, you felt your side sting painfully. Then blood flowed freely with the spray of water. You held your hand over the wound on your side and winced. You’d forgotten that Kung Lao had gotten you with the hat. You’d been so full of adrenaline and excitement that it had slipped your mind.
Now that you’d felt it, it was difficult to forget. Besides that, it was bleeding fairly freely for something that had happened some time ago now and should have scabbed over. It was probably a bad decision but you were going to enjoy the springs anyway. You found a first aid kit and covered the wound with gauze, then the gauze entirely with tape to protect it from the water. Then you took one of the towels there and wrapped it around yourself.
The cave beyond was smooth and the steam filled the room from floor to ceiling. These springs were huge. The cave formation seemed fairly natural, settling in shallow areas with deeper pools spread throughout. From where you stood, you couldn’t see the end of it but you didn’t feel the need to go far. In the distance, you could see several other monks enjoying the springs but they were far enough away that you wouldn’t be bothered by them.
You were suddenly disappointed that Kung Lao and Liu Kang hadn’t joined you. It was likely that they were too busy anyway. Your face went red at the mental image of what could have been and you sunk into the water and swooned. It was probably for the best that you’d come alone. Next time though, all bets were off. You rested the flower next to you on the stone beside where you rested your head.
It was difficult not to fall asleep with the warmth of the springs and the sound of rushing water in the room behind. Now that you were drifting in and out, you were grateful for some alone time. Often the air around Liu Kang was so stifled with whatever tension you’d cooked up that day that you couldn’t talk or think straight. And you had no idea what was happening with Kung Lao. You had to talk eventually and catch up but for now, those were all problems for you to deal with later. Future Y/N’s problems. Right now nothing mattered except for you, the steam, and the comfort of the springs.
Finally, you got up and as you did, the room spun. How long had you been lying there? Time was difficult to judge in the dimly lit cavern with scant an opening to the outside world. You lifted yourself from the springs, cautious of the flower you’d set aside, and sat on the edge. Then you whined since your towel and the water surrounding you was stained pink. Apparently two layers of gauze and a roll of tape wasn’t enough to keep the wound closed.
How embarrassing. Light-headed with blood loss because you’d been careless.
You picked up the flower and returned to the changing room. There were no extra clothes so you had to choose towel or filthy gi and you trusted the gi more than the towel. It was as crusted as you had joked it had been earlier. Before tying the top closed, you checked the wound and inhaled sharply at the sight of it. It bled freely and was red and ugly looking. Panic swelled in your chest.
When you’d been a kid your wounds had bled more freely than they should have. Even a scraped knee had been a problem. Doctors had put you on medicine to help you clot but it hadn’t helped. There was no way it was happening again. You’d outgrown it.
No, you were being silly. It had been the water and bad timing. You wrapped the wound tightly again but the damage had been done and your fingers tingled as a reminder. You’d been a fool not to go to the infirmary before going to the springs. Between the poison having made your blood such a mess and your recovery from those wounds, it was a wonder that you hadn’t accidentally bled to death while napping in the springs!
Carefully, you tied the gi closed and then tucked the flower inside of it safely. When you’d been led there by Kung Lao earlier, you’d made a point to remember where you’d come from so that you could return without getting lost. You’d spent more time lost in Raiden’s Temple than you had ever spent lost in your life.
You felt Liu’s energy before you saw him turning a corner and walking toward you. He smiled in greeting but it quickly fell into a look of concern. “Are you okay?”
You sure were tired of that question. Then again, you didn’t feel well thanks to your lack of foresight.
“Huh?”
“You’re incredibly pale.”
“Oh yeah. It’s dumb, really.” You pulled on the tear in the side of your gi and Liu’s worry only worsened.
“You said you were fine earlier.”
“Adrenaline is a funny thing, Liu. I forgot about it until I was cleaning up.”
“Kung Lao didn’t help you take care of it before letting you go?”
“I’m almost certain that he alsoforgot about it.”
“Careless.” Liu Kang didn’t sound surprised. “Come sit with me. We’ll take care of it.”
You looked him over, pulled the sliced gi a little and then looked back to Liu knowingly. What, were you just supposed to take your shirt off so that he could take a look at your wound? He laughed and held both his hands up defensively as if realizing what he was asking you to do. You caught the slightest bit of red on his cheeks. It was nice to know that it wasn’t in your head.
“If you aren’t comfortable doing that then come with me to the infirmary.”
“Ugh.” You were so tired of the infirmary! But you were feeling the impact of blood loss at an alarming rate. Your fingers were frigid and your breath was shallower than it should have been. You leaned against the wall nearby with a heavy sigh.
“Please?”
“I can probably sleep it off, Liu.”
“You’re like a ghost, Y/N.” He tried to joke but the worry in his eyes wasn’t going away. You were such a sucker for those eyes that you melted almost immediately.
“Fine. But I’m not happy about it.” You pouted and he laughed, offering you his arm.
“Thank you for humoring me, Y/N.”
Together you walked through the maze of corridors. Liu filled you in on what he and Kung Lao had done after you’d left. It hadn’t been anything remarkable, mostly tasks they were given to contribute to the life they lived in Raiden’s Temple. When you reached the infirmary, you were taken away by one of the female monks that you’d gotten acquainted with during your time there. They offered you a change of clothing and you couldn’t have been more grateful. A tank top and some comfortable loose pants. Familiar clothing, at long last. It was far easier to maneuver those around with the wound on your side.
Afterward you returned to the main room and sat on one of the benches there. The monk crouched next to you and you lifted up your shirt to show them the wound. It definitely looked uglier than it had earlier but it had also gone completely numb. Why couldn’t it look like the minor convenience you’d viewed it as earlier? Now it was swollen and the flesh was torn and jagged. Liu’s expression shifted and he turned away from you to hide it.
“It’s good you came to us. Don’t want to get an infection.” The monk offered you a smile then set about working on the wound. It was no longer numb and you twitched but stifled any painful objection you may have had. Liu stood behind the bench and offered you a hand to squeeze which you took.
“I’m fine.” You reassured him but your brain was buzzing. Did he think you were weak? Frail? Easily broken? You were strong! You had worked so hard to be strong. It was just a bad situation, overall. Kung Lao had immediately regretted throwing the hat at you. Accidents happened. You were getting it taken care of and you would be the better for it.
“Stay with us for a few hours to make sure you are alright.” The monk said and while it seemed like a question, it didn’t really seem optional. You exchanged a glance with Liu who you knew would argue with you to get you to stay. You had no leg to stand on except that you wanted to go back to your room.
“Fine.” The monk bowed to you gratefully and walked away. Liu had you scoot over and then took the seat next to you.
“I told you that hat was trouble.”
“You did. And I know staying is the right thing to do. I’m not happy about it though. I want to be strong again, Liu. It’s one setback after another.” He picked up your hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
“You’ll get there. Be patient with yourself.”
“Yeah, yeah, monk stuff, inner peace and all that.” He laughed at you. “So much for celebrating.”
“There will be plenty of time to celebrate later. This is more important. Tomorrow is another day.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“I’ll stay until you find rest.”
“I’m not sleeping here tonight, Liu. I’m going back to my room the moment they say I can.”
“Sure, Y/N.” He seemed unconvinced and you pouted. Afterward you made casual conversation about your arcana, things that Liu wished to test, and what they thought your capabilities might be. Liu seemed to think you’d be excellent at mimicry. What was ink used for if not to record things? Before you knew it, you had fallen asleep against his shoulder.
***
Liu Kang waited until you fell asleep then watched you for some time afterward. Just to make sure you were alright. Then he crept away from where you rested and consulted with the monks, ignoring their snide remarks about the attention he paid you. It wasn’t their place to judge what he did with his time.
He finished his errands for the evening and as he returned to his quarters, he found Kung Lao in the fight pit, tossing his hat about and practicing. Liu stepped into the fight pit and when the hat turned toward him, he knocked it back with a definitive kick where it slammed against the sand. Kung Lao willed the hat back to him, caught it, and slipped it back on his head, strip neatly tucked under his chin.
“Want to spar? I don’t think I can sleep.”
“No, I’m good.” Liu folded his arms over his chest. “You were careless today, Kung Lao. Y/N nearly bled to death because of it.”
“What? Is she okay?” Kung Lao took an aggressive step toward the stairs but Liu held his arm out to block him, stepping back with him. Liu then explained where he’d found you in the hall and what they’d had to do in the infirmary where you were now resting. “…so she’s fine, is what you’re saying.”
“That’s not the point, Lao.”
“I’m sorry, Liu. I forgot. She handled it like a champ and kept on fighting. I was extra careful but it slipped! We were having so much fun that we may have gotten carried away. We used to pretend when we were kids…”
“I’m not here to scold you. I only wanted to let you know and to remind you to be mindful. Not all the warriors with the marking will be the two of us. Some might not have any experience at all. We’re lucky that Y/N does.”
“What is this, Liu?” Kung Lao’s tone shifted and his lips curled into a knowing smile.
“The consequences of your actions.” Liu turned to leave the arena.
“You know, I asked you to make sure that she was okay and keep her safe not to fall for her.” Kung Lao called after him. It wasn’t an accusation. He didn’t sound angry. He’d always had a way of stirring the pot.
“And keeping her safe is what I’ve done. Then you come back and undo half of the progress she’d made because you wanted to show off.” Liu turned again to face him. There was nothing that would undo their bond of brotherhood but Kung Lao had always been his careless counterpart. In the Academy he’d skipped classes, ignored studies, and had dragged Liu into all sorts of trouble. While Liu had been more studious, he’d gotten them into plenty of trouble over the years too.
“I’m sorry. Really, Liu. I’ll be more careful.” Kung Lao slipped his hat under his arm. “You’d tell me though, right?” Liu threw him a disapproving glare. “When I left back then one of my biggest regrets was not telling her the truth. I never thought I’d see her again so with time I wasn’t sure it mattered. Now I have a chance to be better than I was then. So, I’m going to ask you again. What is this, Liu? You’d tell me, right?”
Liu stepped back. They’d wrestled over far less and he was in no mood. He didn’t know what to say either. He didn’t want to lie to Kung Lao but he wasn’t sure what it was other than a few close calls and some pretty clear attraction.
“That was more than enough of an answer.” Kung Lao dusted off his still ink stained shirt. “Well, may the best man win.”
“This isn’t a contest, Kung Lao. We’re brothers. Always and no matter what.”
“Of course. And I’m going to win.” Kung Lao walked past him and hopped up the steps two at a time, waving him off with a laugh. Liu Kang sighed deeply and looked up at the starry night sky. That could have gone better but he supposed it also could have gone worse.

Safe Harbor
Summary: After everyone has safely returned from their own battles, Katara realizes she's been having trouble sleeping if she's not near Aang and decides to confont her fears with a late-night talk. Written for @kataang-week day 5 prompt: healing.
WC: 1.7k | ao3 | ffn
The sky was dark around the Fire Palace as Katara tossed and turned in her overly large bed. She was relieved to have her brother and friends back safe from their own battles, and after an afternoon full of healing and hugging and even some tears, she was exhausted, but she was still struggling to find sleep. It had been this way for almost a week, if she were honest with herself. Ever since Aang had disappeared before the comet.
Katara sighed as she sat up in her bed, giving up for the time being, and pulled her robe over her shoulders. The floor was surprisingly cold when her feet touched down, despite the near-suffocating heat in the air. She quietly turned the knob on her door and poked her head out, checking for guards. They still made her a little nervous, even if Zuko assured her that any remaining staff was on their side, now.
Finding nothing but silence in the empty hall, she slipped out of her room and padded across to the room she knew Aang was staying in. She could still see candlelight flickering under the door, and breathed a sigh of relief that he was still up, too. During their travels, they had often sought each other out in the middle of the night, either due to nightmares or just to talk through things that had happened during the day, and she hoped he wouldn’t mind her showing up now. Despite the awkwardness that had grown between them since their kiss on the Day of Black Sun, and then again on Ember Island, he was still her best friend. And deep in her heart she knew he was more than that, too. Maybe talking with him would help.
She knocked on his door as quietly as she could while still hoping he could hear her. Before she could finish her third knock, the door was opening, revealing a tired but smiling Aang on the other side.
“I felt you coming,” he said quickly, when he noticed the quizzical look on her face at his almost immediate response. “Earthbending…” His hand was on the back of his neck and her mouth pulled into a smile of its own accord. Spirits, he was cute when he did that.
“Is it… is it okay if I come in?” Katara asked, glancing down the hallway again to make sure nobody else was coming.
Aang’s face reddened a bit--or was that just a trick of the candlelight? “Oh! Oh, yeah. Of course!” He opened the door wider for her to enter, and then shut it quietly behind her, leaning his back against it and looking anywhere but at her.
Katara placed a hand on his, which was still resting on the door handle, and smiled encouragingly at him. He finally met her eyes and returned the grin. She had always been able to bring him out of whatever emotional turmoil he was in, even those times, like now, when she was the cause of it. When their eyes connected it was always just the two of them, in that moment. She took his hand off the door and gently laced her fingers through his, pulling him towards the cushions that were in the center of the room. She noticed his room was much more spacious than the others she’d seen, but Aang deserved it, even if he would never want or ask for special treatment. He deserved so much more than that.
“I missed you so much,” she whispered, pulling him into a quick hug before sitting down on the plush red cushions. She knew she was blushing a bit, but for some reason it no longer bothered her. “I… I haven’t been able to sleep since you left.”
Aang’s eyes widened to an almost comical degree as he sat down himself, and she would have laughed if she didn’t feel like she was bearing a part of her soul to him that she hadn’t fully explored herself, yet.
“I just… I think I got used to us sleeping all together while we were traveling, but it was more than that, too. After…” She took a deep, steadying breath. She needed to get this out without dissolving into tears. She needed him to know. “After Ba Sing Se, I was so scared I would lose you again. And… when you were unconscious I stayed in your room every night, and then we were all camping together again in the Fire Nation and at the Temple and… and I think I got used to being able to hear you breathing. I think I needed it. To know you were okay. But then you were gone, and…” she couldn’t help the sob that broke through there, but she didn’t need to. Not anymore.
Aang’s arms were around her and she was finally able to let the tears flow freely. He had never, ever judged her for expressing her feelings, even when everyone else seemed to think she was going too far. The safety and overwhelming love she felt in his arms was something she hadn’t felt since her mother was alive and her family was happy together; since she was young enough to be unaware of the horrors of war. It was like his hug was squeezing the various pieces of her heart back together, where they were meant to be all along. Like he was healing her.
“I love you,” she whispered, when she had finally caught her breath again. She kept her face pressed to his shoulder. She wasn’t sure if she could look at him yet; she felt so exposed. But she also felt… lighter somehow, now that it was out in the open. He was her safe harbor in the storm of her emotions. So many times she had brought him calm, but now he was doing the same for her. “I know the world needs you, but I want you to know that I need you, too. And I don’t… I still don’t know what this is--what we are--but I… I know I can’t be without you again. I just want to stay here, in your arms, forever. I feel so safe.”
Aang’s head was reeling from all that she had just admitted to him, but he was trying to will his mouth to speak. He knew the soft circles he was tracing on her back weren’t enough to convey what she meant to him, but for some reason all the words were stuck in his throat, with his heart, which had floated up there when she told him she loved him.
Finally, just when she was beginning to think she’d said too much, he found his voice again. “You can stay here as long as you want,” he said, pulling back to look at her watery eyes. He kept one hand on her shoulder and the other lightly bent her tears from her face with a smile. “I love you, too, Katara. I’ve been trying to tell you for so long, but…”
“I’ve known,” she interrupted him when she saw his eyes turn from her and the worry lines start to appear as he crinkled his forehead. “I’ve always known. And… I’ve always loved you, too, even if I didn’t know what this feeling was, at first. I was just so scared of losing you.” Her hand came up to cup his face and his eyes swung back to hers like magnets. They had always been connected like this. She wondered if they had been connected from the moment she was born, or maybe even before. But she knew without a doubt that she was destined to find him; to help him; to love him. That she would always stand by him, whether as a friend, or as something more.
“Is it… is it okay if I sleep here?” she asked, a little hesitantly, despite her earlier admission. “I can just stay here on the pillows, and you can sleep on the bed, if you’ll be more comfortable. I just… I just need to be near you, tonight.” And maybe every night, she thought, but she kept that to herself for now.
“Here,” Aang took a moment to adjust the cushions around them into a little nest, before laying back and pulling her to him. She rested her head on his chest and listened to the soft thump-thump of his heart. The sound was like the glue where his earlier hug had been the clamp; her heart felt whole in places she hadn’t realized had been broken, before. She sighed and melted into him, then turned her face up to meet his stormy eyes, trying to discern what he was thinking. She didn’t see any of the apprehension or awkwardness that had been present for weeks, so even though she couldn’t read his thoughts, she still felt overwhelming relief.
Aang smiled again before pressing a quick kiss to her hair. It was the first time he had done something like that; usually Katara was the one to initiate all their physical contact, but where his words had failed him tonight his actions seemed to be enough. He saw her eyes close as a contented calm painted over her face.
There would be time for them to sort out everything, and for him to find the right words, but for now… she loved him. Katara loved him! And he’d finally told her the same, after months and months of failed attempts. Even if this was the extent of their relationship--sleeping next to each other and sharing the deepest secrets of their hearts--he would be extremely happy.
His chest felt warm and fluttery and his cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling, and there may have been some happy tears welling in his eyes, but he didn’t care.
She had always been there to heal him, both physically and emotionally, from the various pains and griefs that he seemed unable to escape from. He hoped that he had been able to offer her some of that back, tonight. That they could continue to heal each other from whatever came their way. Forever.

Hiya!! Love your work 💕 May I please request 17 and 49 from your supernatural prompts with Diavolo? (Or like, whichever one you prefer!) ✨
How about both! Thank you so much for requesting my favorite character atm ;; I love Diavolo a LOT! Enjoy!
“I left my mark on you, isn’t that enough?”  &  “I haven’t met a human like you in a while… How interesting.”
»»————-———— ♡ ————————-««
Ever since you came to the Devildom, your interactions with Diavolo had been sparse. Of course, you two greeted each other in the hallways, or you saw him around Lucifer a few times. But your overall interactions with the lord had been as little as the activities you were actually doing the first two months living there. Aside from studying and hanging out with the brothers, you hadn’t exactly gone out or gotten in trouble with someone either. You had done nothing to be called into a private audience with Diavolo.
Accordingly nervous, you found yourself sitting on a chair right in front of the big work desk that was Diavolo’s place of command. Neither he nor Barbatos gave you much attention as he had just asked you inside and to take a seat, explaining he had to tend to this report before he had the time for you. You never had witness Diavolo at work, so this was quite new, and a little intimidating, as his expression was way more serious than the usual chipper one he greeted you with.
“[Name],” he called out to you, your mind spacing out as you fiddled with the hem of your uniform, wondering what you did to end up here. Without looking at his butler, Diavolo handed him the paper he had just written, Barbatos taking it and excusing himself with a brief nod in your direction. Immediately, as you met Diavolo’s eyes, his face cheered up, his usual big smile taking over his lips. “Sorry to make you wait, you probably were nervous when I called you here, weren’t you? I don’t plan anything bad, I promise!”
Laughing loudly, he had seen right through you, embarrassingly fast. But his words helped you to relax and take a deep breath, and you quickly replied, “It’s fine!”
“Good,” he chuckled, nodding knowingly. “I wanted to know if you were able to settle in and get along with everyone well. I hope no one is bothering you?”
Prompted by him to answer his question, you spoke freely about your experience so far. You had no reason to hold back about how well you got along with Mammon and Levi and were slowly warming up with everyone else, happy to tell him about how you spent a lot of time studying and progressing with your tasks. Diavolo made courteous nods and hums next to your tales, though his smile was slowly dwindling the longer you continued talking about other people rather than yourself.
“That sounds like you’ve been having a great time,” he noted, interrupting you and sending a sudden shiver down your spine as you heard an unsuspected chilliness to his voice.
“Ah, yes. It’s been going very well for me.”
“I see.” Standing up from his chair, you were almost urged to do the same, but he stopped you with a wave of his hand, making you sink back while he surrounded his table, leaning against the front. “You’ve been making a few pacts as I heard, I hope those demons have been treating you well too?”
Nodding enthusiastically, you couldn’t help but feel a sudden rush of intimidation wave over you. After all, you hadn’t spent time in private with Diavolo before, so you never quite noticed just how piercing his eyes were, especially when he was so close. And with him standing in front of you, for the first time, you really noticed his authority. His whole body language was pushing you down into your place, arms crossed, leaning against the table leisurely. It showed you exactly how little of a threat you were, and considering you two were from different species, this was a situation you subconsciously took as a red flag.
“It certainly has been some time that anyone managed to get more than one pact, especially in such a short time. And from what I heard, you are still going strong, befriending everyone. I haven’t met a human like you in a while... how interesting.”
His praise was rather dull-spoken as Diavolo pushed himself away from his table, rounding you at a leisure pace. His eyes never left you, and you felt them sting even in your back as you tried to remain calm. It would have been foolish to think of yourself as an animal that was being circled by its inevitable demise, the hunter, but it almost seemed the part.
Flinching as you felt his fingers brush over the back of your shoulders, brushing aside some strands of hair and revealing your neck, Diavolo let out a few chuckles. You suddenly felt very aware that HE must be aware, toying with your nervousness. When he finally came back into your field of vision, it was almost a relief, though you still got caught off-guard as he started to speak again, voice booming and imbuing as ever.
“So, I was thinking...” he started, clapping his hands together to cause another scare to your discomfort. By now, your fingers had started clawing into the fabric of your trousers, while your mind was confused about why you’d be so scared of a person who you knew as nothing but kind until now.
“Maybe we should make a pact. How about it? Any wishes?”
Mouth falling open, you were speechless for a second, his words replaying in your head. It was a sudden proposal, and though you should have been overjoyed about it, you felt reluctant, considering who he was. “W-With me, Sir?” you asked, trying to stay polite. “Yes!” he was quick to answer, and it only confused you more as he seemed like he was serious.
“I-I don’t really have a reason to... right now,” you stuttered. You weren’t even sure how to handle pacts, yet, one with a demon like Diavolo. He wasn’t just any demon, he wasn’t even like the brothers. He was the alpha and the omega of the Devildom, and he probably had more power than he knew what to do with.
“I’d like to be in on the fun... Get to know you better, help you out. I am very sure I can be helpful when times get tough, you know?” Diavolo had his arguments, but there was a nagging in the back of your head that it wasn’t right still. You didn’t even deserve a demon like him... right?”
“Do you want to see it?” he whispered into your ear all of a sudden, and you almost jumped off your chair as you hadn’t noticed him move. “What do you mean?” you squeaked as you quickly tried to follow him with your gaze this time, while he passed you again. It somehow scared you to let him out of your eyes by now, never knowing what he was going to do next and what hid behind the obligatory smile on his lips.
“Why, my mark, of course,” he laughed carefreely, smoke rising from his hand before a hand-mirror was revealed from it. “Have a look, it’s right there.” Sliding the mirror into your hand, he tapped above your chest a few times, signaling you where his mark would be. It was almost embarrassing to pull away your coat and shirt to look at the place it appeared, finding it to be right above your heart. But he was right, as his sigil shone right where he promised it was, colorful and strongly. It was a vain thought, but you almost felt a surge of power just by looking at it.
“That’s... I am... I’m not sure, Sir. I don’t think I deserve to make a pact with you.”
Your words weren’t exactly to his liking, but you only caught his disapproving expression for the last second on his reflection in the mirror. Without knowing why, you were puzzled to see him displeased, not knowing the things Diavolo was planning for you once he had you in his strings. “That’s not true, [Name],” he sighed, putting his hands on your shoulders, fingers going down one after the other.
Diavolo opened his mouth, but for a second, he soaked in the warm feeling beneath his palms, dragging his hands down to your arms and up towards your neck again. You were so close. So close to being his, he could taste it on the tip of his tongue.
“You deserve my power. An amazing human like you deserves me- my power. We’d be good... partners.”
It was hard to think under the strain of his fingers digging into your shoulder flesh, but the least you could do was consider his words, that much you owed him. “I--” you started, thinking about still telling him ‘no’, when he suddenly seemed to vanish again, your head looking around frantically.
You felt his fingers around your chin before you saw him, Diavolo directing you towards his body squatted down on your right side, next to your chair. He didn’t look all that intimidating anymore when he was crouched next to you, smiling with shining eyes. “Don’t you want to get stronger? Perform your very best this year? You and I can make that true!”
“I... yeah,” you admitted. You did want to do your very best for the time here in Devildom, that’s what had been your ambition in this exchange program. And certainly, no one was better suited to help you then Diavolo was. Sneaking another glance at his mark in the mirror, you again felt the source of power that it emitted, feeling a little smitten by that feeling rushing through you. This realization didn’t go unnoticed by the future ruler of the Devildom, Diavolo’s smile growing a bit wider even. Humans were nothing but easy. The all desired something, and all he had to do was play the right chords for you to fall directly into his trap.
“Okay,” you finally agreed, and he laughed merrily, standing up with ease and pulling you along by the wrist. “Very well, let’s go then!” he announced, starting to march towards the door to the hallway while you stumbled after him. “Where are we going?” you asked, confused.
“To the palace, of course! It’s where we will live, after all.”
“What? But what reason would I have to live there? I got lodged at the House of Lamentation, right?”
At this, Diavolo took another chipper step before halting and promptly turning around to face you with a cheerful, yet, belittling expression. “What reason? I left my mark on you, isn’t that enough? You need to be with me, how else do you think our pact could work?”
“B-But--”
“Oh, [Name]!” he laughed. You were cute, still so clueless about the spark behind his eyes. It was just another trait he looked forward to using for his own gain.
“Just listen to me, and you will be fine,” he ‘calmed’ you, ignoring any further attempts of you not to follow him. Pacts weren’t fair when the power balance was so off. You would have to offer him much to ever repay the debt you put yourself into by agreeing, which wasn’t something you had been made aware of before. But what did you expect? Diavolo was still a demon. He wouldn’t have told you about the things he wanted to do with this delicious, unique soul of yours.
Instead, he rather called it a learning experience. And he'd teach you for a long time.

On Thin Ice - Pt 5
Soo yeah. Wrote this in 2 hours and pt 6 is actually a tomorrow thingy cause I wrote it before this. And 7-1 is also written so wow productivity.
Pt. 1 - Masterlist - Next
Taglist: @whoopsalittlewhumpy, @cupcakes-and-pain, @uncooly-supreme-whump, @thegreathowdini
CW: negative thoughts, burns, past mentions of abuse and torture. We mostly have some hurt and then small comfort while Colby does the Colby thing of being terrified of everything and anything.
Colby sat on the couch. He could not stay still anymore. He needed to repay Kevin, but whenever he’d tried to do anything useful. He’d been told no. Everything felt wrong when he wasn’t doing anything. He didn’t want to seem ungrateful. He was really grateful for everything Kevin had done!
Colby sniffed wiping away tears. He didn’t know what Kevin wanted from him. He was just resting all day trying to heal but it was boring and he needed to be useful!
He smiled as soon Kevin walked into the living room. He could ask if there was any way to help him, but it was always “It’s fine just rest” and he didn’t like that. It made him feel useless.
“Is there something I could do to help?” He asked hopefully, but Kevin just smiled softly petting his hair. Again, with the hair. He enjoyed it but it was frustrating. He wanted to be useful! he didn’t want— okay he wanted both.
“It’s fine you don’t have to worry. Just focus on recovery” Kevin said softly always doing the same. He didn’t like this. He wanted to do something useful! He didn’t want to rest! He wanted to somehow repay Kevin and he didn’t like it. Besides he had recovered enough, he could walk around but it was just hard, and hurt a lot.
“I’m going to pick up some work-related stuff, so I’ll be gone until five” He said softly before grabbing the coat from the hanger. Colby nodded in understanding.
Kevin would be away for a while. Which meant he could help but Kevin could just abandon him here and never come back. No- he still had everything here, he wouldn’t leave, yet. If he were to be abandoned Kevin would most likely throw him on the streets.
He quickly got on his feet ready to be useful before whining softly as his ankle tried to betray him. He pushed himself to move wincing at every step. He couldn’t stop now. He needed to repay Kevin.
He slowly dragged himself to the kitchen wincing in pain with every breath. It hurt so much but he could tolerate it. He opened the fridge picking out a bunch of ingredients, he had an hour to make them food. The ingredients looked fine and weren’t actually that old, despite Kevin ordering takeout all the time.
He hummed softly while making pasta for them. He was doing good! He smiled carefully cutting the onions, before putting them on the pan as they slowly turned a pretty golden brown. He smiled adding the garlic and tomatoes as the pasta cooked happily. He was doing good.
He was nearly done and it was good since he needed to get it ready soon. He turned to side borrowing one of the chairs from the table using it to try and reach the cupboard. He needed to get some spices for the sauce. Only for the front door to open as Kevin came in with a warm “I’m back”
Colby flinched putting too much pressure on his ankle that betrayed him, he tried to grab onto anything, only for him to snatch the handle of the pan. He landed with a thud as a small whine escaped him while the pasta sauce flew all over him.
He whimpered as the hot pasta sauce burned before it hit him.
He’d dirtied the kitchen.
Colby quickly got on his knees as his breath caught in his throat. He felt the tears fall as he watched Kevin come closer, his fear numbing the pain.
“I’m sorry, sir. I’ll clean it up. Please don’t be mad at me. I know you told me to wait but I wanted to be useful. I’m sorry- I’ll clean it up immediately. You don’t have to worry” He said as tears fell freely. He was so going to be punished for this but maybe Kevin would be happier if he cleaned the mess up.
“Colby…” Kevin said sadly as he flinched. Kevin would soon turn angry, but it was fine. He deserved it. Kevin turned the stove off before crouching in front of Colby. Who immediately looked at the floor visibly trembling, squeezing his eyes close. Colby was waiting for Kevin to hit him. He frowned picking up the trembling ball of nerves that was Colby.
Colby didn’t even flinch as he was lifted, he just stayed there listless, hoping compliance would make whatever was coming easier. Maybe Kevin would be nice enough to hold him afterwards, but he was always left alone to pull himself together.
He was placed, not dropped, in the bathtub before Kevin spoke up, without a hint of anger in his voice, it felt off. Too off. There would be something worse.
“Colby, can you take your clothes off? You’re covered in pasta sauce and I need to wash it off” Colby nodded doing as told. He needed to clean the mess up as soon as Kevin was done. He was being oddly careful with, like shouldn’t he be thrown around? He had messed up big time. It was natural, right?
“There, good job. I’m gonna run some water and wash the leftover sauce away. Are you fine with that?” Kevin asked, he asked him. It was weird but Colby nodded anyway, knowing it wasn’t smart to refuse.
He closed his eyes as the cold water washed over the burns feeling so nice. It was way too relaxing to be a punishment, especially when Kevin began washing his hair.
He felt like he was melting away at the softness how Kevin just massaged his scalp. It was pure bliss as the water just ran through his hair before after a while it stopped.
“There, all done” he said handing him a towel “Dry yourself while I go grab the burn cream and a change of clothes”
Colby nodded not really understanding what it meant. It was confusing. He wasn’t hurt at all which was weird since he messed up. He’d made a terrible mistake while disobeying Kevin.
He trembled not liking what was to come. It must be something horrible, but he was prepared for that. He deserved it for even thinking he wouldn’t be hurt. He quickly dried himself off before getting out of the tub. Then sat there wrapped in the towel, waiting for Kevin to come.
It didn’t take long before Kevin opened the door smiling, warmly. It wasn’t the sadistic smile Miss Rosa used to have before he hurt him. He just sat down in front of him showing him the burn cream he’d gotten. It was a very fancy looking bottle. So, why was he wasting it on him?
“Can I put it on your burns?” Kevin asked as Colby began to cry. He looked startled before smiling petting Colby’s hair as he just cried clinging to him.
“Why aren’t you mad at me? You should be yelling at me or hitting me. That’s what happens when you mess up. That’s normal. So why-” He said looking up at Kevin tears in his eyes, so scared and lost.
“Why aren’t your actions making sense?” He asked sounding even more desperate. Kevin pulled Colby close as he tensed worrying about something before silently crying.
“It’s alright. I won’t ever hurt you. You aren’t even in trouble and you tried your best to help. You did good” Colby looked up in surprise, silently asking if it really was true.
“I was just worried that you’d accidentally injure yourself like just now. Next time if you want to help, let’s do it together” Colby nodded softly wiping away the tears as Kevin reassuringly pet his hair.
It was too good to be real, wasn’t it? There’s no way Kevin actually felt like that, but he was fine with it. He could help Kevin in other ways.
They sat there as Kevin began to apply the burn cream on the burns, softly praising him, like every time Kevin took care of his injuries. Kevin showed such kindness to him even after he’d caused a mess and been a nuisance. Kevin was just so nice. He really didn’t deserve any of this, but Kevin seemed to believe that.
He quickly got dressed after Kevin was done. He didn’t need to bother Kevin any further, before rushing to the kitchen to clean up his mess, he was halfway through the living room before his traitorous ankle gave up crashing him to the ground.
Kevin rushed over to help him up and he had no choice but to accept it. He was picked up and sat on the couch. Kevin ruffled his hair gently before wrapping a blanket around him.
“It’s fine. You can just rest” Kevin said as Colby smiled in return. Kevin liked it when he smiled. In reality, he was a useless waste of space. He wasted Kevin’s money, resources and everything without giving anything back.
As much as he liked Kevin, he should return to Alaric as to not bother him or worse, endanger Kevin, Rosa might not do anything to his brother, but her sidekick was another matter entirely. He was the dangerous one.
He should leave, but maybe spending a bit longer wouldn’t hurt...

CHAPTER 1: THE PATH TOWARDS PERDITION
The scenery before her was breathtakingly beautiful, although it sent her a chill down her spine as she knew she went further into the unknown and her sealed fate. Snow was pretty, but silent and deadly too, and these woods weren’t familiar to her. The serene landscape didn’t calm her as it should have, only sending her nerves into a spiral of never-ending anxiety.
The cold bit at her hands and feet, the carriage did what it could in matters of isolating the cold, and she burrowed further into the thick winter coat, clinging desperately to it. Her handmaiden, Flora, looked pitiful too, her cloak not as thick as Eva’s. They tried to talk to ease both their minds, but it turned out it was better to let silence reign over them and try to enjoy the ride and the scenery as much as they could. Eva had never ventured this far when she accompanied her brothers on their diplomatic missions, Flora always excitedly travelling with her, eager to know the neighbouring kingdoms and people; she was a social hurricane and always ended up making friends with all the other maids (Eva made sure Flora could send letters and gifts, often pulling strings herself to make sure the packages were delivered safely), so both women knowing this was their final travel sent a freezing cold knot deep in their guts.
Eva saw Flora shiver, and with a tiny smile she scooted over, making room for her handmaiden under her cloak.
“Come here, I don’t want you to freeze.”
“Your skirt will wrinkle, your Highness.”
“As if it wasn’t wrinkled enough from sitting here for God knows how many hours. Come here, you stubborn mule.”
Flora snorted but obeyed, not wanting to be in the cold any longer. Eva covered them both, cuddling and letting out a sigh as she let her cheek rest on Flora’s head, looking out of the carriage’s window. She always hated the cold.
Eva probably dozed off while Flora was talking about some silly nothings, lulled by the rocking of the carriage and the shared warmth under her thick winter cloak. She realised Flora put her hood on so she didn’t let her neck stick out for too long.
“Good morning, sleeping beauty! I won’t let Diana know you fell asleep listening to her epic romance with the guard captain’s son.”
“God, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Please don’t tell her, she wouldn’t stop reminding me of it.” Eva rubbed her temples, still hazy.
“Your secret is safe with me.” Flora crossed her heart and looked at Eva trying to stifle a giggle. She failed, and both women laughed out loud, picturing Diana’s irked expression and waving hands.
They kept looking out of the window, enjoying the small moments as this one; they both knew they would be sparse now.
The landscape outside the window changed, having less never-ending fields of pure white snow and heavily covered trees and mountains, to more fenced fields with cattle and horses roaming around with some lonesome wooden houses in an architectural style so different from the ones back home.
Eva’s heart thumped painfully in her chest, knowing the carriage ride was about to end as they neared the fearsome warrior’s village walls. Flora squeezed her when the carriage came to a stop, trying to reassure the princess upon seeing the gate guards on the entrance talking with the royal soldiers at the start of the entourage, and the tremendous amount of people running around inside the village as both women peeked from the cold glass. They looked at each other in a silent and mutual exchange of comfort.
The townsfolk stopped on their tracks upon seeing the carriages entering the village, their gazes wary and distrustful,  a contrast to the children shouting excitedly at the shiny armour the royal guards wore. Their mothers stood proudly, in defiance, reminding Eva of the fierce stray cats that roamed the Royal Palace gardens, hissing and standing tall whenever someone approached their kittens. Eva recalled the talk she overheard of Father and his advisors about this nation of warriors, how every single one of them had the blood of a terrifying fighter running inside their veins, how every single member of their society was trained to enter combat. Demons , that’s what her Father called them more than once, The Demons of Eldia. Whether that was true or not, Eva was downright terrified. Hostility was clear in their eyes and postures, not happy at seeing foreigners entering freely their territory. How did Father suppose she could survive this?
The carriages kept going, entering further into the maze of beautifully crafted houses. Flora parted from her embrace with Eva, knowing they would step out of the secluded space soon, and would need to make Eva look as if she hadn’t spent countless hours inside a wooden box; she had to make a perfect first impression. Eva wondered how different the village would look without all the snow covering every inch of it. Would it look as intimidating, but still beautiful, as it looked now?
Lost in her thoughts and Flora’s fussing, the entourage stopped in front of the biggest house Eva saw until now. It was massive, artfully crafted by the best artisans when it was built. Intricate markings decorated the wooden pillars holding everything together, and Eva could tell they had a meaning for these people. Right in front of the steps Eva saw more Eldian warriors, and in the middle stood those who Eva guessed probably were the welcoming party. She wondered how this Chief her father gave her hand into marriage was. Would he be a decrepit old man? A greedy one with lecherous fingers? A barbarian who would only use her for his own gratification? Was this Chief so entitled to himself and his pride that he would not even step down his throne, or the equivalent these people used, to greet them properly? What saddened her deeply was how her brothers, Hans and Friederich, agreed with Father.
Her questions would be answered in just a moment, hearing how the other two carriages, where her older brothers were, opened their doors, their heavy boots falling down the snow with a solid thud. Both women heard voices and movement outside. It was time.
“Remember, your Highness,” Flora began, giving her hands a final squeeze. “You have the strength to proudly hold your head high. The people of Gottesreich are by your side in here.” Flora touched with her finger where Eva’s heart was. “And I will be right behind you.
Eva let out a shaky exhale, a trembling smile on her lips.
“Thank you, Flora.”
The door of the carriage opened and a gush of freezing cold air hit both women. Flora tightened her cloak around her and waited patiently for Eva to exit first. It was Friederich who came to get her, gracing Eva with a tired smile while he offered his hand to help her out. Eva delicately posed her hand on the outstretched hand of his brother, the other pulling slightly up the skirt of the dress so she wouldn’t accidentally step on it and cause a scene. God forbid that happened, she couldn’t afford any humiliating mishaps of any kind. Eva stepped aside as Friederich also helped Flora out, and turned just once to see her sister following him behind, still with her hood pulled up; that was definitely Flora’s doing, knowing how the woman liked the tiny dramatics. Friederich huffed, amused.
Once they stopped just right next to Hans, his stance truly the epitome of a proud and regal prince, a member of the Eldian welcoming party walked over them, bowing their head lightly and making his light brown hair move.
“The people of Eldia welcomes you, your Highnesses, and hope you had a pleasant and safe trip.” The man had a soothing voice, calm, and such feelings carried into his eyes. “My name is Moblit and I’ll be your interpreter throughout your stay.”
“I’m pleased to make your acquaintance, Moblit. I’m prince Hans Stein, heir to the throne of Gottesreich.” The crown prince bowed, right hand on his chest, and waited for Moblit to translate his words into the Eldian language. Looking at each one of the Eldians of the welcoming party, Hans turned to his other two siblings. “This is the second prince of Gottesreich, and General of our troops, Friederich Stein,” Friederich mimicked his brother, bowing respectfully too with his right hand on his chest as Moblit kept translating. “And last, princess Eva Stein, our younger sister.”
Eva felt her hands tremble and not because of the cold. She could feel everyone’s eyes fixed on her although she kept her own to the floor as her father taught her— never look at them in the eyes, only when you are being presented, but then quickly look away, never speak unless you are being spoken and addressed first, never—
She could do this.
Eva raised her hands, carefully lifting the hood of the cloak so it wouldn’t disturb her hair and tiara, and let it fall gracefully on her shoulders. She raised her head to proudly display her long neck, knowing it was being accentuated by the collar of the dress she was wearing, and looked at each member of the welcoming party before elegantly bowing towards the Eldians while delicately lifting the sides of the dress skirt as she was taught as a child. Once done, Eva returned to the position she was before: gloved hands in front of her, clasped together, head slightly tilted downwards and her eyes refusing to meet anyone’s unless she was required to do so. Father would be proud of how well she performed.
Some warriors whispered to each other, and Eva didn’t know if to feel grateful to not know what were they saying. It was just a quick glimpse as she wasn’t able to properly focus, but, where were the horns? The claws? The evil smiles with mouths full of sharp teeth? Her books depicted Eldia as demons, as creatures taking humanoid forms but with grotesque features. Eva couldn’t help but to feel thoroughly confused at the difference. Were the books wrong? Were they waiting for the right moment to show their true selves...?
A deep baritone voice quieted all the murmurs, speaking in a calm and collected tone that didn’t leave room for questioning. Eva would have called it a beautiful voice if she wasn’t being eaten alive by her fear and anxiety. The voice kept talking, and was now joined by Moblit’s translations. It was time to raise her eyes again.
“We welcome you, your Highnesses, and thank Goddess Maria for your safe journey to our land.” Eva briefly looked at Moblit, and was taken aback by the gentle appearance he displayed; she expected a brute, like her books said, but was met with soft amber eyes and sandy brown hair. Her attention was swiftly moved to the Eldians before them as Moblit gestured towards them. “My name is Erwin Smith, Chief of the proud Eldian tribe, and I’m pleased to make your acquaintance too, your Highnesses.”
Eva’s eyes frantically fixed on the man Moblit was gesturing with his hand and claimed to be the Eldian Chief. Her husband to be. Eva was met with an icy blue gaze and intense like the sea she saw once when she traveled with Hans to a southern kingdom, but Eva noticed a hidden cleverness behind the stern glare. The eyes belonged to a handsome face, with sharp and chiselled features like his cheekbones, a beautiful aquiline nose and thick, blonde brows framing his face. His blonde hair was neatly parted to the side and Eva never saw a haircut such as the one he was displaying, both short and even shorter hair, but judging by the other Eldians, it was a common style. He was big, tall, and Eva saw the true poise and demeanor of a proud warrior. The blue war paint smeared on his face and exposed arms made Eva unconsciously gulp down; he looked terrifying. Even if the Chief was wearing thick clothing, there was no doubt there weren’t feeble sticks for limbs underneath them.
The princess was taken aback, unable to tear her gaze away from the Chief’s ones, and going against all her modal teachings. Those blue eyes were hypnotic and unreadable, like his face.
That was the man she was going to marry.
Erwin Smith.

Last House on the Left {36}
{Thirty five}
Tumblr media
You’d ended up staying a few hours after the initial, awkward, conversation.  You were sitting at the kitchen table the next day, thinking over everything you and Shownu had talked about.  Night had turned to morning and you’d not left your spot you were sitting since coming home.
“You’re up awfully early.” Minghao noted when he saw you.
“Couldn’t sleep.  I went out with Shownu last night.” you said.
“How’s it going with Shownu?” Minghao asked you as he came into the kitchen to get his morning coffee.
“I’m not seeing him anymore.  Well, I am, but not as a potential boyfriend.” you told him as you picked at the table in front of you.
“Why’s that? Just not working out?” Minghao asked, hating that idea.
He could tell that you really got along with Shownu and enjoyed his company a lot, so this news was quite surprising to him. As much as he kind of hated the idea of you dating, he knew Shownu would be really good to you. Something he thought you deserved more than anyone.
“We get along really well, but he said it just wasn’t going to work.” you admitted.  You didn’t tell Minghao that you also knew it wasn’t going to work.  Your brain was still processing that part of it.
“Why wasn’t it going to work? Aw man, I liked this dude. Do I have to go and kick his ass?”
“No.  It’s not like that.  He said...He said he was doing it for me.”
Shownu had been very candid in the conversation much later in the night.  He’d said that he knew he wasn’t the person who could make you happy.  There were just too many differences and neither of you would really ever be comfortable, or happy, in a relationship with each other.
“How is breaking up with someone doing it for them? What kind of shit is that?” Minghao asked, growing mad.
“I don’t know, but it makes sense.  I just...wasn’t all in.  Or even...halfway in. Plus, we weren't dating so we didn't break up.” you told him, not making eye contact.
“Why weren’t you halfway in? Are you okay?” he asked, anger ebbing away to concern.
“It’s...complicated.”
“It’s always complicated babe.  Tell me what happened.”
He had moved from his spot in front of the coffee pot to come over and sit next to you on the other side of the table.
“Nothing really happened. We hung out a few times and it was really fun. But it was just different. We both realized that it just wasn’t going anywhere other than friendship.  He was the one to really put it out there though. I'm still not even sure about it to be honest.”
“Realized what? That you weren't all in? It's been like 10 minutes. I'd be concerned if you were all in.”
“That's not...it's more than that. It's just different… it's …” you cut yourself off. You didn't even know what to say or what you were feeling.
“Hey, I'm sorry. We don't have to talk about it. I'm sorry for bringing it up. I'm more sorry it didn't work out.”
“I want to talk about it.” You said, getting up from the table.
“But I'm confused. I don't know…”
Minghao watched with guarded eyes as you were pacing in front of him.  He stood up, ready to hold you in place if needed so you could talk it out.
You knew that you would get nowhere if you just bottled it up.  But you also weren’t sure you had everything in order in your head to even have a coherent conversation, even if you desperately needed to.
“Just start anywhere. What did Shownu realize to know you weren't in?” He asked.
“He just knew my heart was somewhere else. Or at least...my head was. It was never in the moment with him.” you said honestly, repeating Shownu’s words from the night before.
“Where was your head?” He asked, concern growing as your pacing just increased.
He watched surprised as you stopped pacing and stood right in front of him, but never looked up to meet his eyes.
“It was here. At home. My head was always here. It's confusing.” You admitted quietly.
“That kind of makes sense. A lot of your time is spent here.” Minghao said, failing to follow your narrative.
“I don’t know, I just feel really close to you. I always have.” you finally freely admitted, changing the conversation with just one out of place sentence.
“Okay...and why does that have you so confused?” Minghao asked you, genuinely not understanding your anxious demeanor.
“Because...Minghao, I really don’t know if we should talk about this.” you said suddenly.
“What? Why not?”
“Because what if I spill my heart out and I’m wrong about what I was feeling? Or it gets weird? That would be really horrible.”
“When have things ever been like that with us? Yeah we’ve had our moments and we bicker sometimes, but things are rarely ever weird between us.”
“But Minghao... this is different, this is so much different. I’m feeling...things and I don’t know how to process them or what they even are.  To be completely honest I wasn’t even fully aware of the feelings until last night and this morning.”
“So just talk to me...please.”  He all but begged you.
“I think I like you.”
“Okay….?” Minghao said, still not understanding.  “I like you too.  We established this literally a long time ago.”
“Damnit Minghao, it’s more than that! I look forward to having breakfast with you in the morning. I like the stupid conversations we have everyday.  You drive me absolutely fucking nuts, but in a great way. I love the routine of you being late to work everyday so I can bring you coffee and spend a bit more time with you.  I love that you let me wallow in troubles without actually letting me drown. We fight, but we also laugh together and have fun.” you said, voice raised slightly.
“I really don’t even know when it started.” you said, before cutting yourself off. “Wait, that’s a lie.  It really started on Halloween.”
“Halloween?” Minghao asked, brain still trying to catch up with the situation.
“Well it was really the day after.  When we talked outside.  It was the first time you were really honest and pushed me to talk to you. It showed me that you cared.”
“Of course I do. I've cared about you for a long time.”
“I know and that's why this sucks. It fucking sucks. I'm so sorry.” You said, finally looking up to meet his eyes.
“Why are you sorry, and why are you crying?” He asked frantically, trying to wipe the tears from your face.
“I'm sorry because of this, and how I feel. It's gonna ruin everything.” The sadness was thick in your voice.
“Even though I still don't one hundred percent know what we're talking about, please don't apologise. You're not going to ruin anything.”
You were exhausted. And quite frankly confused that Minghao had not yet caught up to the conversation.
Without thinking it through fully, you took another step towards him.
He instinctively took a step back.
“What are you doing?” He asked.
“Would you just hold still?” You asked.
Without giving him a chance to respond, you quickly bounced on your tiptoes and kissed him.
It was a short, chaste kiss, but your mind was going absolutely crazy.
But then your brain caught up to the fact Minghao was still standing stock still.
Embarrassed, you took a step back. You put your hand over your mouth in both surprise that you'd actually done it, and the tingling your lips were feeling from the contact.
It took everything in you to look up and meet Minghaos eyes.
His face seemed to be in a permanent state of shock and bewilderment.
“Fuck. I'm sorry. I thought you were starting to understand. I'm sorry for doing that. I told you, I would ruin things, ruin us. I just...my brain has been telling me for a long time and I just ignored it because I thought I was confusing my feelings. But I don't think I was, and then I go and do this and…” you stopped when Minghao took a step towards you.
His face was still a stone image of the shock.
“What are you doing?” You asked him.
“Would you just stand still?”
And just like that you were in Minghaos arms, him kissing you this time.
Your head was still confused. And in this moment going a million miles an hour. But it also just felt right. It felt like a piece had been missing but was put in its place.
You both took a step back at the same time. Minghaos hands still rested on your hips while yours came up to rest on his shoulders.
As you looked up at him you saw the stone face had gone. But now he was looking at you, you could see all the questions written plainly on his face and in his eyes.
But you didn't get a chance to ask any questions. At that moment the two of you came together again. It was like a magnetic force was pulling the two of you together, and neither of you were going to fight that pull.
The third kiss was deep. You had your body so close to his, but you clung on, holding on to him as tightly as you could.
If this was a one time thing. If you went back to just being Y/n and Minghao; best friends, partners in crime, this moment was a moment you wanted to remember forever.
This moment was one that could possibly change your whole life, good or bad, and you weren't ready to let go just yet.
