ghosts graves pt 2, under different circumstances

Red robin was debriefing with Phantom after a new attack when a teenage girl comes running out from the line of civilian spectators. 

Both heroes look at her in confusion while she stand up straight and presents what she was previously holding to her chest. She holds a dark red rose and what appears to be a crocus flower out to the undead hero, blushing a vibrant red. “Its polite to put flowers on peoples graves, i don't know where yours is so im giving them straight to you!” she says, straight forward and blunt despite her seeming embarrassment. 

Tim turns to Phantom to make a joke about him getting flirted with yet still being dead when he pauses at just Phantoms face. 

Phantom is staring straight at the flowers, mouth slightly open with shock, but the thing that makes time pause is Phantom is crying. Silent, quick tears while not saying a single word or even making any form of noise in general. The girl quickly realizes her poorly received gift and the effect its having on the hero, as she starts stammering apologizes quickly, pulling the flowers back. 

The action seems to snap Phantom out of it as he looks up, startled, and rapidly tries to blink the tears away to no avail, each blink sending a new stream down his face. He seems to realize this as he just starts wiping his hands against his eyes, trying for a reassuring smile in response to the girls worries. 

“Sorry! I'm sorry, its- uh, flowers on graves- sorry, flowers on graves are really special to ghosts.. ” he seems to almost have the crying issue sorted, almost, “it caught me off guard.. I've never had flowers on my grave before”. Phantom smiles, holding a handout to gingerly take the flowers from the teen girl who is slightly calmer from the explanation. She tries for a happy smile in return, but it doesn't have the full effect as halfway through it turns to a grimace, “never got flowers before now?” she asks. Phantom smiles, only evidence of the crying being his flushed cheeks and the fact that Tim saw it, before he responds, “for your information i have just not because of the fact I'm dead”. 

The comment seems to unsettle both Tim and the girl because she quickly says a goodbye before bolton back to where she should be with the rest of the civilians. Phantom doesn't seem to notice the uncomfortable energy as he just continues to stare at the flowers held in his icy hands. 

When Red Robin later asks on why flowers for graves are so important, Phantoms response consists of an embarrassed explanation of “its basically a symbol to show you were cared for or really mattered when alive, with some added physical benefits”. Tim thinks its about time him and the rest of the Justice League get used to buying flowers.

i know i shouldn't have done it i knew this would happen but i clicked on the official atla youtube channel's 'rating avatar ships' video and ten seconds in my blood was boiling at how they talk about zutara as if its some kind of deviant unhealthy ship that only young girls ship before they 'grow up' and realise how 'toxic' it is

headcanon that (just like all you beautiful people out there who almost exclusively dress in 1950s fashion and etc) because buccellati is so committed to the 1920s aesthetic, his own team doesn't recognize him if he happens to be exhausted one day and has his hair in a different style and isn't as dressed up as usual.

they'll even summon their stands because they think he's a stranger, and he'll say a very disappointed "really..." while taking his hair down and straightening out his bangs with his fingers.

(except abbacchio, who always recognizes him no matter what because they literally shower together and sleep in the same bed and everything, so he sees him with his hair unstyled all the time)
