Hello my fellow disableds! (Yes I know that’s not a word-) Specifically my fellow friends with Cerebral Palsy!

The new book ‘The Midnight News’ by Jo Baker is brilliant read, (especially as a lover of history and historical fiction) and it includes a character with Cerebral Palsy! He is a confidante to the main character and eventually her love interest. It very accurately describes life as a disabled person, in my opinion.

FREDDY CARTER'S CHARACTERS SAY "I LOVE YOU" FOR THE FIRST TIME

It was after a few months of dating. Pin had invited you to come along on a riding trip to pass time, you had ridden for two hours and stopped by the beach to look at the sunset, cuddling on a blanket and sharing occasional kisses and nuzzles. You laughed at Pin’s jokes and Pin fell silent for a moment. He admired your smile, listened to your laugh - God, if he had a choice at that moment, he would relish in it forever. Then, he said it, louder than he had intended. “I love you.”

Your smile immediately disappeared as you snapped your gaze to Pin, and for a moment he was wondering if he said it too soon, if it would make it awkward. If you would pull away and tell him that you should probably go. But then you broke into a smile too, took a hold of his hand and pressed a tender kiss on his lips. And you whispered against his lips, “I love you too.”

KAZ

Ok a bit longer because he refuses to say it for a long time. You know he loves you but he hasn’t said it. 

You’d been together in a way since you were teenagers, but it took years of him even saying it aloud he thinks of you two being a couple/dating, so the first time he says “I love you”? The boi had barely told you he cares about you in a romantic sense.

It happened quite spontaneously, you had had a fight over you risking your life during a heist, Kaz paced back and forth his office, telling you how reckless you were, how you could have died, how stupid you were when you went solo.

You clenched your fists, taking a step towards Kaz, making him stop pacing. “You never believe in anyone’s else’s judgment but yours, you get mad even if me going solo was a success - which it was! It comes off as entitled and infuriating, and quite frankly, sometimes I wonder if you really love me or if-”

“I do!” he let out, and the second he said it, all color left his face and he staggered back, leaving you stunned, staring at him.

You had definitely not expected that. Kaz Brekker confessing his feelings for you like that.

You both were silent for a moment, before Kaz could even out his breathing. He closed his eyes for a moment. “I do love you,” he repeated, this time quietly. “And that’s exactly why I can’t bear the thought of losing you.”

You stared at him for a moment longer, before you took a tiny step forward, lightly grazing the sleeves of his shirt with a small smile. “You won’t lose me.”

TOM

You had helped him escape after he committed the murders at the farm - you had always liked him and even though this “new” Tom scared you to some extent, you still wanted to help him, hiding him away just in case. But after his mum had been sentenced to prison, you were able to live more freely and not hide him every single time you heard sirens approaching.

It took some time, maybe a year. Your relationship had deepened during that time, and you lived together, his name was on the door too. He had moved from your couch to your bed, and you often fell asleep cuddling or after a make out session.

One such night was when it happened. You were making out in your bed, him hovering on top of you.

“I love you,” he suddenly muttered against your lips, and then continued kissing. Your heart had melted on that moment and you returned the sentiment in between kisses.

JASON

Your relationship was basing itself on raw passion and not really real love for a long time. You shared a room and offered each other pleasure whenever either of you needed it, but you were also free to do it with other people. But as time went by, it started shifting into something deeper - something neither of you had really expected. The mornings had begun to start with cuddles rather than just waking up and getting up. He started spending Crowley’s parties near you rather than go dance with other people and snog with them. He started to be visibly jealous if someone was checking you out or flirting with you.

So one night when you were about to go to sleep, changing to your nightwear, you asked him. “Why have you acted so weird lately?”

Jason paused while unbuttoning his shirt, looking over at you with a frown. “What do you mean?”

You shrugged. “You’ve been… different. I don’t know, it's just… our arrangement feels different.”

Jason was quiet for a moment, and then he sighed.

“I’ve been feeling different,” he mumbled, finally taking off his shirt.

“Different how?”

Jason looked at you, clearly contemplating if he should tell you. But then he said it. “I think I’ve fallen in love with you. It isn’t part of our arrangement, but it happened.”

You stared at him for a moment, but then your lips turned into a smirk. “Oh, really? Come here, then. Show me how much you love me.”

It took him a few moments to register what you said, but the next moment, he was already on top of you, kissing you passionately as he slowly undid the buttons of your night shirt, his head dipping to the crook of your neck, pressing more kisses there. You moaned softly as he ran his hands over your body, your fingers tangling into his hair.

After a moment you pulled away slightly, looking into his eyes and caressed his cheek. “Just for the record… I love you too.”

ELLIS

He’s a romantic. He hadn’t even told you about his feelings before he had already been completely and utterly in love with you. So when you agreed to date him, he wanted to sing his heart out to you immediately but instead, he held his deepest feelings inside him for quite a bit.

It really wasn’t before you almost died because of the Catherine-turned-demon. He ran in to hold you, almost crying from joy after you assured him you’re alright and then, he held your face between his hands and pressed his lips against yours, kissing you like never before. After the kiss, he leaned his forehead against yours, whispering, “I love you.”

You smiled after hearing it, caressing his sides. “I love you too.”

Hunger Games Men as Taylor Swift Songs

Idk if this is kinda odd to post but I'm a person who loves music and every song I listen to paints a scene in my head and I've been getting super into hunger games lately so a lot of the songs I've been listening to have reminded me of the characters. Specifically, my delulu self can imagine being in certain romantic situations with them based on the situations happening in these songs. For the sake of continuity, we will use songs from Ms. Taylor. I wanna write little one shots inspired by these situations. I already wrote the Snow one today so maybe I'll continue.

tldr- these are Taylor swift songs that reminded me of what it might be like to be in a relationship with these characters.

Peeta Mellark

Jump Then Fall- Taylor Swift, Fearless

"The bottom's gonna drop out from under our feet, I'll catch you"

Honestly I was thinking 'Mine' at first but I felt like Peeta HAD to have a song off of Fearless. He is the human embodiment of sunshine to me and Fearless as an album is gold, bright, and holds a theme of puppy love throughout it. All of those things just SCREAM Peeta Mellark to me. 'Jump Then Fall' is a song that is relatively vague in terms of story telling lyrics but it is about loving someone and being happy just to see them happy and wanting to be there for your partner no matter what. I feel like Peeta is that kind of ride or die lover. Even after the capital had brainwashed him into hating Katniss he still found his way back into loving her again anyways. He is a lover you can trust. He truly would stick through it all so it's okay to 'Jump Then Fall'.

(Story Idea: Kinda toying with a cute little fluff where the reader and Peeta are going swimming at a lake or something. I have another idea for him too but it's apart of the Finnick X Reader X Peeta story I'm theorizing)

Gale Hawthorn

Better man- Taylor Swift, Red

"But your jealousy, I can hear it now talking down to me like I'd always be around you push my love away like it was some kind of loaded gun, you never thought I'd run."

Firstly, Red is my favorite album. Sorry had to get that out of the way. Gale honestly, ugh there was so much potential here. I think as the movies progressed he started to lose his empathy and grew a more selfish shell. Better Man really reminds me of what Katniss might have been thinking with him. He would've been the one if he was a better man.

(Story idea: reader contemplating their relationship with Gale a month or two after the break up and reliving the memories of the past that are gloomy and haunted over by the fact that, Gale really wasn't ready for a relationship. They ponder over things until coming to the disheartening conclusion that brought them to breaking it off in the first place, it really could've worked out if he was a better man.

Also possibly a part two of that with a tooth rotting fluff about Gale going through some character development and becoming a better man and then they get back together)

Finnick Odair

Starlight- Taylor swift, Red

"He said "Look at you, worrying too much about things you can't change, You'll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way"

Ahehehe Finnicks my favorite. It was hard to pick just one for him but I went with Starlight because he is just such a charmer. Starlight is a song about a whirlwind sort of romance where you are at a party and doing some silly things and you're falling in love. I can totally imagine this happening with Finnick. You meet at a capital party, run off together and start creating some chaos and fall in love. There's specific lines that remind me of him like the "he was trying to skip rocks on the ocean saying to me, "don't you see the starlight"". I could totally see Finnick doing that and just truly being a charming man and finding those little bits of joy in the messed up life given to him. I could see this also being a sort of sheltered reader and it being their first party and he helps them loosen up and have fun.

Honestly, its hard for me to pinpoint just one song for him because so many remind me of him so here are some honorable mentions.

Holy Ground- Same kinda vibe as Starlight

Forever Winter- he has trauma and I can help him. Ours- Finnicks Reputation makes your family question if you should be with him but you know him truly and they can't take whats ours

Mine- A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK THIS ONE BECAUSE OF THE "I remember we were sitting there by the water" line but the rest of the song doesn't fit him

Paper Rings- They wanna get married but Finnick can't because of the capitals uh plan with him so they have a little ceremony with just themselves and some friends and paper rings before the events of Catching Fire and then they decide to run off to district 13 to be together for real

Coriolanus Snow

Tolerate It- Taylor Swift, Evermore

"I know my love should be celebrated, but you Tolerate it"

honestly this was the one that inspired me to do this post. I already wrote this story because I CANT HELP MYSELF! This song was playing in my car after I watched tbosas and it was just painting this whole picture of how the person Snow ended up marrying after Lucy Gray must have felt. I'm pretty sure there was that line in the book too that was talking about how Snow never wanted to fall in love again because he felt so out of control and how he would marry someone he didn't love so that he never had to feel that way again. it was something like that. So Tolerate It sounds like the total POV of his next partner. The song itself is about a relationship with a power imbalance where the person singing the song is giving their absolute all for the love, affection, and praise of their partner and their partner gives them nothing in return. The term "Tolerate It" also is insinuating that the person the narrator is in love with is mildly annoyed with the things the singer is doing for them. They simply deal with it but are never impressed and that just gave me snow vibes.

Freddy's characters preferences

Preference means there's a scenario, and I'll tell you how different characters would act like with you in those situations. Situation examples may be: your first date with them, them having a crush on you, them when you get injured somehow, them finding you asleep on their bed. Right now including: Kaz Brekker, Pin Hawthorne, Jason Ripper, Tom from 15 Days and Ellis from the Convent. More characters may get added if he potrays more (fictional) people who I feel like writing for. I will also possibly update my old preference sets and add those new characters into them as new characters come.

Rating Freddy Carter's Characters Goodness

Pure Cinnamon Roll- Ellis: The Convent. He is the goodest of good boys; ready to risk his life for those he loves, honest and kind. Truly, a pure cinnamon roll, too good for this world. You just want to bundle him up and protect him from demon possessed girls, creepy convents and weird old ladies. Deserved better, he did.

Good Dudes- Pin Hawthorne: Free Rein, David Friedkin: Masters of the Air. They may be a rough around the edges, a bit flawed, but you love them for it! Also, even though Masters of the Air hasn't been released yet, but since he is based on a real life person, and in my research (x), he sounds like a good man, and judging from the trailer, his character might butt heads with Austin Butler's character.

Grey Area Fella- Kaz Brekker: Shadow and Bone. While he is not the greatest man, could definitely benefit a good therapist, he is a good man underneath it all, who cares more than he let's on. He steals, he threatens, even kills, but the people he killed are assholes who take advantage of sex workers and nearly killed his wraith, so he's forgiven. Plus, he says trans rights are human rights, so he's really not as bad as people think!

Handsome Losers- Jason Ripper: Pennyworth, Scott: American Carnage, Gideon Fletcher: The Doll Factory. What losers, they aren't great, maybe a bit of a creep, classist, and dumb, but damn, they look good doing it. They aren't far gone, but you could fix him, I believe you can.

Puts the "Hot" in Psychotic- Tom Davies: 15 Days, Benjamin Stableforth: Death in Paradise. They started off fine, not great but they could have had a chance to at least be a loser, but family drama lead them to murder and there is no turning back from that. We get it, families are rough, but murder, really? Oh well, at least you looked good while doing it, but that's as far as your goodness goes.
