I see way too many fics where Caitlyn is cool. Arcane Caitlyn has a conspiracy board on her floor, no friends we see of her age despite being one of the richest people in Piltover, and sucks at making conversation. This is loser erasure and I will not stand for it. In this essay I will—

imagining a true crime podcast covering jason’s murder
and it’s two women giggling and drinking wine whilst talking about a child getting blown up (my favorite murder and morbid)
and bruce hates it. like i guaranteed he sues every single one.
and i guarantee jason thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. he goes and submits his own theories. he listens to it while on patrol. and one time he emails the podcast and is like “hmm i wonder if he was murdered by the joker” and bruce almost has an aneurism

I want fics that are outsider perspectives on cumplane post their deaths because like can you imagine. Like forget what our boys think on the scenario, think of the public. Think of the yt essays. The drama vlogs and makeup tutorials paired with. Like I want that perspective. An author and his anti die potentially minutes apart and you're telling me the internet didn't explode??? That there wasn't documentataries made by amateur sluthes investigating their private lives and pissing off the families??? You think this wouldn't be the fandom scandal that gets international release??? And like if Airplane is just in a coma isn't that even more sus?????!!! Like it's insane my dudes. Give me like fake yt video essays on this. Give me fanfic from random peoples perspective. Tell me all the pidw fandom conspiracies.

Obama had a true crime podcast and a group of my classmates and I decided we were gonna solve to crimes. We solved two cold cases before the FBI started trying to stop us and then Joe Biden yelled at them.
I’m not even American.

so I am primarily an Eddie x Chrissy shipper but I ADORE the Eddie Munson TikTok saga with my entire heart
can we get some more insight into how Eddie was affected by Chrissy in your universe?
Thank you for asking this!
I’ve wanted to talk about Chrissy in this AU since the beginning, but I just don’t realistically see Eddie talking about her on his TikTok. Anytime Eddie has so much as alluded to Chrissy over the years, it has stirred up all this drama about that spring break and it always gets back to her family. And he doesn’t want that.
He doesn’t want to remind her remaining relatives of her death. He doesn’t want the accusations that some people still have that he killed her. He doesn’t want to attach all that pain and suffering onto the memory of Chrissy.
She was more than that one awful week in 1986. She was so much more and every time the Hawkins Murders get brought up she becomes less and less a real human person and more just a footnote in a bigger tragedy.
So, he doesn’t talk about her publicly.
So, Eddie honors her in the quiet ways that he can.
He honors her in the tattoo over his heart and in the initials engraved on the inside of the ring he never takes off. He honors her in the silence before every live performance and in all the songs so filled with grief that they’re never performed to an audience.
He honors her in the life he lives.
He tries to at least, because Chrissy is not a ghost that haunts him.
She is a presence that sits beside him. She is the sun warm on his face and tea made just a little too sweet. She is the skip-beat of his heart, the stroke of a guitar, the sadness that seeps behind his eyes. She is an empty house built inside him, and she is the windows he made in those walls, and she is beautiful still. And he misses her. Still
So, he honors her in silent ways when she deserves so much more.
She deserved a life, so he lives his thankful and fully. She deserved the same love that she put into the world, so Eddie never misses an opportunity to show his. She deserved adventure, and travel, and to see a world so much brighter than Hawkins, so when Eddie got the chance. It didn’t feel like running away. It felt like honor.
Eddie knows that he was not always kind.
He knows that he has a capacity for cruelty, that Wayne raised him right but he has shades of his father in him. He knows that for as much as the world othered him, as much as Hawkins ostracized him, he played into it. He othered himself. He grew bristles and thorns young, and he bared them to anybody that got close. He was mean.
He could be so mean, but Chrissy.
She didn’t remember him that day in the woods, but Eddie has always noticed her because she was kind. She was so effortlessly kind to everybody, even to him. She apologized in the hall for bumping his locker. She stopped when he dropped his dice instead of kicking them across the floor.
She smiled at him like he wasn’t a freak, the same smile she smiled at everybody.
She was so kind. It was for everybody. She was kind to him the way that she was kind to everybody else, and it was just… It was never fair. It was never going to be fair.

This is called voir dire. And the English translation of the French voir dire is "to speak the truth."

To me the funniest thing in Glass Onion (a truly excellent movie filled with many funny things) is Benoit Blanc himself: Celebrity Detective.
Because.
This is not a profession that exists!
We think it does because it exists in media, but please name an actual famous crime solver, known the world, who isn't employed by law enforcement or journalism?

i've been rotating this post in my head, about how it's supported by the novel that drama!li lianhua might not have known real medicine at all, and was simply using yangzhouman every time he treated a person. and while it's true that his healing skills appear dubious to basic at best, li lianhua's abilities in deducing causes of death and post-mortem modifications are fairly sharp. i would say that his autopsies are probably the most in-depth/technical he gets onscreen when it comes to medical examinations. given, then, that his actual expertise lays in assessing the dead and not the living, li lianhua in modern aus is absolutely not still scamming people while calling himself a medical authority in an era where malpractice laws exist. no, my guy is forensic files true crime girlie-ing his way through murder mysteries on the internet. he's making debunking videos about suspicious deaths and claiming that he solved X closed case years later based on his research, and it doesn't matter if he's right or not because people are ultimately just here for the story he tells. it also doesn't matter that he dropped out and moved across the country before he could be properly certified as a coroner, shhhhh just listen to the case and his analysis and you'll understand that he's right, ok? <3

I ran a Spotify Podcast where I would document True Crime, and I documented this story about a brother who was supposed to do surgery on his other brother but ended up cannibalizing him and I had to watch it in like 4K.

Headcanon that Jason Grace takes his Roman history obsession to the next level, to the point where he has totally read illegal/restricted books in camp Jupiter before. Yk how there are restricted libraries? Camp Jupiter totally has tons of those only elite members can access. Jason totally exploits his position just for more history info.
Yk how annabeth said in Mark of Athena, that Jason looks like he knows way TOO much but simply doesn't tell anyone? Well he does. he has dark af secrets and tea, he'd literally be looking for an opportunity to spill all of it 👀 he has certainly read very um. Questionable things.
(another hc that annabeth is literally the only one he spills these stuff to bc she is legit the only one who gets the art of history, also, she totally bribed him for information, we know that canonically they both DID have nerdy discussions w e/o. Annabeth said in moa that Jason had described the exteriors of new Rome in perfect detail to her and how Reyna was supposed to look like, in the lost hero, those two spent hours researching about the Roman/Greek forms of gods by interrogating clovis + Piper noted how well they both debated about the Athena parthenos without any blame or hostility, just perfectly fitting their collective pieces of research information together. Ugh this friendship was such a wasted potential. It's literally no wonder that annabeth cried till she was sick for Jason's death. They weren't close friends or anything, but they intellectually respected eachother in a very healthy way, it was refreshing to read about tbh.
Jason and annabeth are the OG nerd friends fr.
