From about April to the middle of July, it was practice twice a week from 7:30 at night to about 11. There was a separate facility used to work and condition through the colder months, just following the Super Bowl. Once pre-season truly began, the whole team moved practice facilities. This put you in the same place as the Bengals practiced, giving you more field time than gym time to get acclimated. It was different, especially due to the fact that players and cheerleaders were placed at an arms length most of the time.

The afternoon of the first practice at the new stadium, you’d all been given the talk. This was basically your coaches and executives way of saying that if anyone found out that anyone off the squad had anything more than a friendly, professional relationship with one of the players—they’d be either cut or sanctioned. It was bad for the image of the team, making it bad for those in charge.

It shouldn’t have been a problem.

That first night practice in August was tough, you were coming off of a sprained ankle and the heat was blistering even at 8 at night. Amanda, your head coach, sent you inside to grab some ice from the athletic trainer to bring back out to the field. “Was that a question?” You chuckled, “I think that’s pretty obvious.”

“No, no. I was kind of just thinking out loud.”

“I should head back to practice,” you told him, watching him slowly nod in understanding.

The common room was oddly quiet. Normally, you’d hear people shuffling around and chattering in the halls, their laughter echoing off the dull grey tiles. But right now, silence. With the dingy wood and fluorescent lighting, it felt like a ghost town. It wouldn’t have bothered you on any ordinary day. Except today was your first meeting with the new residents of your dorm as their RA. And it was five minutes to eight and they were nowhere to be found.

You honestly couldn’t understand why anyone hadn’t shown up yet. The bulletin board had been decked out in the colours of your school football team, the Stray Kids, and you’d even promised snacks! In fact, a lot of the people you’d run into in the halls had been excited to come - or maybe they just felt pressured into it by your overeagerness. Soon enough, more people shuffle in, until the common room is filled to the brim with residents, and you let out a sigh of relief. Maybe they didn’t hate you after all. Before, long, everyone is settled in, and you waste no time, heart pattering as you launch into an explanation of the rules and expectations for the year.

As expected, a handful of people are nodding off, while others have their eyes glued to their phone. However, Seungmin, Jisung, and Jeongin are hanging off your every word attentively, smiling after every phrase, and despite it being corny, you can’t help but find them endearing. You’d have to make a mental note to visit their room later and get to know them.

While you continue on, not wanting to keep everyone too long, you notice a couple of guys sneak in the back, twenty minutes late, and immediately your smile drops. The blue jerseys tell you immediately that they’re the players from Stray Kids. A few heads turn when they walk in, and suddenly, there’s a hum in the air, the residents thrumming with excitement at the sighting of campus celebrities. Suddenly, all the attention is off you and on them.

Felix shoots you a look of apology, and you huff, watching the meeting go down in flames. You don’t know how many minutes pass before the crowd dies down, people spilling out one by one, until only the four players and Felix are left.

Putting on your fakest sweet smile, you stomp up to them, ready to give them a piece of your mind, when you bump into a solid chest, strong arms wrapping around you to steady you.

“Whoa there, you good?” A deep voice booms out, and you look up to see Chan, the captain of the team, looking down at you with a smirk.

“That’s Changbin,” Chan chuckles. “And over there is Hyunjin.”

You look to the door, where another tall, lanky player is leaned against the frame, a look of casual disinterest on his face. He gives you a nod, and you scoff under your breath, hoping he doesn’t hear you.

“And this is Minho, our other roommate.”

You freeze on the last introduction, finally taking in the final figure in the room. He’s just as paralyzed as you are, unable to move, lips parted in shock. Feeling like you’ve been struck by lightning, you feel your throat tighten, unable to look up. The ground beneath you feels like it’s about to give way, and you’re suddenly aware that Felix is no longer in the room, mentally cursing him out in your head for leaving you alone right now.

“Hey,” Minho finally manages to get a word out, and your eyes snap up to his, watching the way he shoots an easy smile in your direction.

You hate the way your heart reacts to that smile, because you’d promise yourself once already you’d never let it get to you again. All of a sudden, a distinct memory from the summer comes rushing back to you, one you’d tried so hard to bury in the back of your mind.

Twinkling fairy lights, red solo cups on the table out back, and Usher blasting from the speakers. The one house party you’d snuck out to this summer with your best friend, Ryujin. The one where you’d met him.

1) the theme.

So, as always, the boys changed their hair. It happens every era and i love it. Now from some screenshots from the Super Bowl where they where wearing hats, the fan base figured that Josh went red again and Tyler shaved his hair. Now from Josh’s pfp on instagram, we can see that we were right:

And I’m very happy about it.

Also, people have been calling it the ‘fire era’ or variants of that and I’m digging it icl it sounds AMAZING. The theme is- obviously- mostly red but I’m guessing its red+black. Funny thing is, there’s a few MASSIVE ties to their other album Trench (my favourite, which we will get into) and the trench theme was yellow+black. Yellow (in the lore so far) has always been a sign of the good guys or the banditos if you like to name them, and red has always been the bad guys (Dema, blurry face/nico, the bishops etc). The contrast is FABULOUS.

2) Release date.

So BBC radio 1 has leaked that they will be playing ‘the new hottest record’ from said album on the 29th of February 2024 at 6pm English time. Obviously this means that it will release the same day, being two days away from the making of this post (I am going FERAL.)

3) Details

Sadly I have no details along the lines of album title, song titles, how many songs are on it etc, but I think it’s only going to make the first listen better imo.

There are a few main links, one of them being in the actual music as Paulmeany, who had a VERY big influence on the sound and contents of trench, posted a mildly cryptic photo on Instagram not too long ago.

As we can see, the people’s eyes in the photo are covered up with red (tape) which has already been seen in the teasers leading up to release covering the eyes of those on the main album covers. This is an obvious hint that he’s come back to collaborate with TØP for this new album, and also that it may sound as if ‘returning to trench’. This is important for reasons in my next point.

Aside from the tape, the letters, and the social media changes, the big way we found out a new album was on the way was through the Instagram video. This video basically gave us a run down on all of the lore up until now, confirmed that Tyler is Clancy, and also mentions at the very end that Clancy (the main character of the lore) will be ‘returning to trench’. This is said in the last few seconds of the video where he states:

“I am a citizen. I am an escapee. I am an exception. I am returning to trench. I am Clancy.”

This. Is. MASSIVE. I’ll leave the link to the video at the end of the post so you can see why, but mostly it’s that this is likely to lead to a massive showdown/rebellion and a huge turning point in the lore. This could literally go any which way and I- like every other fan- am hyped beyond words. (Get it? The Hype is a song in Trench hehe)

That’s all I have to say at the moment, but as soon as I find out more you already KNOW I’ll be posting about it for days.

Dragon Ball Super 073

This is actually a really good two-parter. It’s a little formulaic in places, but I was impressed with it when it first aired, and I was worried that it might not hold up today, but it does.

So to set things up, Jaco has captured a dangerous criminal named Watagash, and on his way to headquarters, he stops off at a ramen stand. While he’s eating, Watagash breaks out of his containment jar and escapes into space.

Okay, so I love the idea of a ramen booth in outer space. However, this sort of undermines the idea that Beerus and Whis are completely blown away by Earth food, doesn’t it? Like, both of these are cute ideas, but if they have ramen noodles everywhere, then why is Beerus so impressed with our ramen noodles? And if our ramen noodles are so much tastier than everyone else’s, then you’d think Jaco would never eat space ramen again after sampling the Earth variety.

Wait a damn minute! Jaco can’t eat noodles! He told Professor Omori that the only Earth foods compatible with his biology were milk and cheese. Is that all Space Ramen is? A bowl of long strands of cheese? Now that I look at this scene again, it sure looks like cheese. But that’s gross! No wonder Whis and Beerus love Earth cuisine. This is nasty as hell! Continuity is saved!

Anyway, here’s Watagash before he busts out. I really like this design. Jaco describes him as a “mind parasite”, physically weak on his own, but capable of infesting a living host and controlling their body while also greatly enhancing the host’s strength. So it makes sense that Watagash should look so fragile and insubstantial. This is probably how Baby’s true form should have looked in Dragon Ball GT, now that I think about it. I mean, not exactly like this, but you get the idea. And I think they were heading in that direction when they designed Baby, but they could have taken it even further, and made him far creepier.

Actually, now that I think about it, could Watagash be another Tuffle weapon, like Baby or Hatchiyack? Hmm...

Meanwhile, Gohan and Videl see a TV commercial promoting a new movie: Great Saiyaman vs. Mr. Satan. Starring Barry Kahn as the Great Saiyaman, Pop Idol Amaguri Cocoa as the woman he loves, and Mr. Satan as himself!

Gohan and Videl are astonished, because they see Mr. Satan all the time, and never knew anything about this. Turns out the whole project has been kept secret, and if there’s one thing Mr. Satan cannot defeat, it’s non-disclosure agreements. But the teaser trailer’s out now, so he can take his family to the studio where they can see the movie being filmed. That’s right, they’re advertising the movie while they’re still in the middle of making it. That... doesn’t sound right, but I don’t know enough about the motion picture business to dispute it.

Mr. Satan meets his co-star, Cocoa, and tries to introduce Gohan as the real-life Great Saiyaman, but Videl cuts him off and explains to him that it’s a secret. Not everyone wants to be famous like Mr. Satan, and Gohan’s boss is a “stick in the mud”, so if he found out Gohan had a superhero identity, it could hurt his career.

All right, so we’ve got that all sorted out. Let’s talk about Barry Kahn. You might remember Barry from such films as Dragon Ball Z Episode 247, where Majin Buu flirted with one of his female victims and reshaped his face in an effort to look more attractive. He looked at a magazine to find a suitable model, and the image he chose was that of superstar actor Barry Kahn. This scene was in the manga as well, so Barry is more true-to-canon than Gregory, or that other Great Saiyaman movie they were trying to film in DBZ Episode 205.

But this is the first time we’ve actually gotten to see Barry as an actual character in the show, and it turns out he’s a huge asshole. As soon as she shows up on set, he starts demanding that the title of the movie be changed to “Barry Kahn in the Great Saiyaman vs. Mr. Satan.” Then he flirts with Videl and offers her an autograph, and when she declines, he tries to save face by suggesting that she’s illiterate, so an autograph would serve no purpose for her. Then while a stuntman prepares to film a scene, Barry calls for a last-minute change, making the stunt inherently dangerous to perform. I guess this isn’t a union production, then?

Mr. Satan tries to talk him out of it, but Barry quotes a line from Mr. Satan’s autobiography that convinces him to play along with this. It becomes pretty clear that Barry plays to Satan’s ego to get what he wants out of him. He says Satan’s book is his favorite, but in fact he’s only read the first page.

So, to be clear, Barry isn’t just an entitled diva. He’s also a manipulative, self-serving creep. They went a little overboard with all of this, but it ties into the plot, so just run with it for now.

Oh, and Pan hates Barry Kahn. She just takes an instant dislike to the guy, like she’s ready to throw down with Barry right now. “It’s on sight, Barry Kahn,” she’d probably be saying if she could talk.

So the stuntman looks like he’s in deep trouble, because he now has to leap over a tank, jump inside it and pull out the driver. And he can’t use ropes or wires because Barry considers them inauthentic and he doesn’t want them used for “his” stunts. And Satan’s on board and the director is just zoned out for some reason. Luckily, there’s a hero on set. Gohan goes to the assistant director and asks if he can do the stunt himself. Everyone’s skeptical of this idea, but Barry insists on it, because he likes the idea of Gohan getting injured in front of his wife.

Gohan says the actual reason is that he thinks it would be neat for Pan when she gets older. She can watch the movie and see her dad in a few scenes. But come on. Gohan wears this thing all the time at home. He keeps looking for excuses to put it on. No, he’s really doing it to bail out that stuntman, because Gohan is a Good Boy(tm).

So of course he nails the shot, and then he does the pose and the line, and...

... the director finally comes out of his coma and he’s deeply impressed. It’s like he somehow knows--without actually knowing-- that he just saw something special here. Like, whatever it was about the Great Saiyaman has finally been realized on his set, and he wants more. So he asks Gohan to join the cast and do the rest of the Great Saiyaman’s stunts for this production. Barry is outraged, but somehow the director seems to be the only one who can keep Barry in line.

Gohan tries to decline, but Videl tells him to do it, since no one will recognize him under the mask.

Also, Videl likes seeing him do this. A lot.

Ahem.

I forget what Mr. Satan is whispering into Gohan’s ear, but it’s probably something like “I’m the champ!” or “YEEEEAAAAHHHH!” I think he just wants Gohan on the set because the fight scenes will be a lot easier to shoot with someone he knows so well.

So Gohan agrees, and on his way home from shooting the movie, he takes the suit with him, but notices a bank robbery in progress. Krillin is there to intervene, but he’s about to get some reinforcements from the champion of justice...

Oh, shit. Sorry, Krillin.

Yeah, so if these robbers look a little familiar, it’s because they’re the same guys Great Saiyaman and Videl captured in DBZ 201. Wait, no. They don’t look like those guys at all?

Okay, he’s the flashback scene from this episode.

And here’s the two crooks as they appear in the manga, when Great Saiyaman and Videl first meet. Videl also has on the same flood pants in this chapter, in case you’re wondering why she looks different in the flashback.

But here they are in DBZ Episode 201, which modified their designs and added a third guy to their gang. Also, they hijacked a bus in this episode instead of a getaway car.

Anyway, they just got out of jail today, so they’re actually kind of happy to see Great Saiyaman again, so they can get some revenge. The smaller crook is especially furious about it, which is probably why Watagash takes over his body instead of the other guy. Suddenly the crook gets super strong and attacks Gohan.

I should note here that even though Watagash has taken over this guy’s body, it’s not the same deal as when Baby would do it in GT. The crooks still talks about how much he wants to clobber Great Saiyaman, and even though he has no idea what’s happened to him, he likes the sudden increase in power. He does not say anything like “You fool, I am the great Watagash, and I have claimed this body as my own!”

Neither does Watagash seek to trade up, the way Baby jumped from Goten to Gohan to Vegeta. Watagash has other priorities.

Gohan still defeats the crook, though, and Watagash is forced to retreat. The next day, news of the Great Saiyaman’s return has spread, and everyone at the studio thinks Gohan must have foiled the robbers using the costume he took home from the set. Then Bulma shows up and convinces them otherwise. See, the costume they’re using isn’t just any old costume. Capsule Corp manufactured it for them, and they made two, in order to have a spare in case the first one got damaged during filming. And Bulma claims that someone broke into the lab last night and stole the spare.

Luckily, she says, the thief ended up using the suit to fight crimes instead of committing more. This is a really dumb alibi, but everyone buys it. Bulma says this is because the entire film industry is used to stories with gaping plot holes. You know, Dragon Ball Super really isn’t in any position to criticize. I had to make up a whole thing about cheese ramen, remember?

Anyway, while Gohan thanks Bulma for protecting his secret, Cocoa overhears them talking and learns the truth. Uh-oh.

Later, she asks Gohan to help her rehearse her lines. Gohan finds that odd, since Barry would be a better partner for that, but Barry’s a dick, so this only makes sense. As it turns out, Cocoa just wanted to get Gohan alone to reveal that she knows his secret. And she asks for a flight home.

And as they take the scenic route, Jaco shows up in his spaceship and prepares to fire on them, because he’s somehow convinced that Great Saiyaman is Watagash’s host. Seems legit.

2022 Christmas Ads

What the Super Bowl is for U.S. commercials, Christmas is for most of the rest of the world, particularly Britain, where holiday ad campaigns are so highly anticipated they have teasers and drop date announcements.

These mini-movies provide the perfect bite-size dose of holiday joy, as much or more than so than selling a product. Clever, often tear-jerking sales pitches, sure, but also so much more.

It’s long been an annual part of our seasonal viewing to rewatch favorite ads from year’s past, as well as explore the new batch. To make that a little easier for my family, and yours, I’ll do my best to compile the best holiday adverts here, just as I did in 2020, and 2021, too.

Unlike my TV and theatrical listings, not trying to catalog every single Christmas commercial out there, just the ones I feel are worth a watch, for a little bonus dose of the festive feels.

Barbour “One of a Kind-ness” - Paddington Bear offers a grumpy neighbor a gift in this classic clothier brand’s annual animated ad.

Belvedere Vodka “Belvedere Presents Daniel Craig” - The former Bond channels director Taika Waititi for this not specifically holiday, but very fun, ad.

The Binge “Christmas with the Cat” - The pets celebrate the holidays.

BMW “Holidays are Here” - One of those ridiculous luxury-car-as-gift commercials, with a fun twist.

Boots “Joy for All” - Upbeat holiday happiness.

Burberry “The Night Before” - Shakira and Burns Boy rep the luxury line.

Cairngorm Coffee “For Those Who Care” - This one is sad in a way, I’m not the makers actually intended.

Celebrations “Bring Back Bounty” - The Lonely Bounty is back.

Chevrolet “Mrs. Hayes” - This extended ad is effective at stirring sentiment and how memories can be tied up in things.

Chick-Fil-a “The Snow Globe” - Long form animated ads set in the fictional “Evergreen Hills” have become a tradition for the fast food chain and this one is a much more serious, direct sequel to 2019′s “The Time Shop.”

Clogau “Christmas” - Simple holiday story of giving.

Coca-Cola Brazil “Christmas Always Finds a Way” - Sweet story of memory and holiday tradition

Super Bowl Film Spot Reactions

Note: forgive me i'm using a mix of text to speech and my one good hand right now. I've got an injured hand, so my writings will be limited this week. ugh...on with the show...

ANT-MAN and the WASP: QUANTUMANIA

I pre-ordered my tickets so yeah...I'm gonna watch this opening night!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 3

Looks great! I'm really excited to see it! Huge fan of the series.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES

I was down from the first trailer and honestly I'm still down to see it. I love seeing fantasy films and this looks like it might be a fun popcorn flick. But it is still from the studio that made Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins. Hmm.

INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY

The teaser was good. This TV spot...to quote another Harrison Ford role: "I got a bad feeling about this". I don't know why. Hmm.

SCREAM VI

Victims fighting back? COUNT ME IN! Looks great! But if anyone calls me asking if I like scary movies...I'm gonna say I prefer romantic comedies.

FAST X

My buddy and I have a pact to always see the F&F films on the biggest screen that we can together. So yeah i'm pre-ordering my IMAX tickets for this little muscle car.

TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS

Something about this feels more in line with the Bayverse rather than the rebooted universe that Bumblebee promised. I'm gonna go with discount day viewing.

An original sci-fi film from the writers of one of my favorite horror movies?! Shut up and take my money!!!

Michael B. Jordan, my favorite cameo from Space Jam a New Legacy, directing?!? I'm just kidding. I'm a huge fan of his filmography and I'm really looking forward to seeing this film.

THE FLASH

This is such a hard one. On one hand, I love the character and DC Comics. But on the other, more injured hand, I just don't know if I can support this flick. I love Michael Keaton's Batman but the real life drama is kind of in the way of my enjoyment. Maybe I'll rent it someday but not a see it in theaters...i'm sorry.

♡ physical affection- he loves holding your hand even at the most random times. if you seem anxious or upset, his hand slowly creeps closer to yours, just to remind you that he’s there. he’s not a fan of pda, but holding your hand is just fine :D. when you're alone, he waits for you to initiate anything like this but can and will be the big spoon every time you cuddle. he loves cuddling with you, holding you or just touching you, he’s just shy okay.

♡ physical affection- he loves being around you more than anything in the world, but he doesn’t really need any physical affection to let him know that you love him. he appreciates hugging more than anything, he just wants to be held in your arms because sometimes, it’s just what he needs to cheer him up. he doesn’t really care if your in public or not, if he wants a hug, he’s gonna get one. something that he does often is laugh with his hand on your arm or your knee, but he doesn’t realise how giddy that makes you feel.

♡ his favourite date- bowling

♡ he sticks to the basics when it comes to dates since he’s a little inexperienced and doesn’t wanna be too brave in case it ends up awful. bowling is his safe option, because the closer you get, the more you can both loosen up and have fun with each other and it’s the perfect place to relax free from judgement. you can both be competitive so there’s no chance you’re letting him win or vice versa, but as soon as you leave you kind of just forget who wins and no one ends up sulking. also!! double dates where you do actually end up winning because the other couple didn’t stand a chance

♡ physical affection- that style of holding hands where he’s just hold like two fingers in his hand or vice versa 🥰 he doesn’t mind pda but will rarely initiate it himself (but will sit dwelling over whether he should or not every now and again). he's not much of a cuddler, but if you happened to fall into his arms he’s not gonna be displeased.

♡ his love language- physical touch- ik i said he’s not much of a cuddler, but he likes it when you initiate it and he likes all the other good stuff like holding hands, letting him rest his head in your lap, linking arms when you sit next to each other etc. it just lets him know that you want him to be there and it gives him so much happiness and fills him with unmatchable joy.

DKB on a first date

Since I said I would write stuff... I’m writing stuff.

E-Chan:

Would definitely do something traditional but cutesy

Like watching a movie but instead of going to a theater he would take you to an old drive-in or some other outdoor projection

He would DEFINITELY cook you dinner first - it’s a 50/50 on how good it actually tastes, but he’s so endearing you’ll probably eat it anyway

He’s a big teaser and so much of the date is walking around and talking and laughing

Teo:

He talks a big game, but he’s super shy and VERY nervous

Would stutter the entire time he’s actually asking you out

(d-d-do you... maybe, wanna go - um - out?)

He’d worry so much about making a good impression he wouldn’t dress for the occasion

Like taking you to an arcade or bowling or something similar but he’s wearing a button-down and nice slacks and he sticks out so bad

He is such a gentleman and would hold the door open and walk you home - the whole nine yards

D1:

But really - he’d also be the kind to take you on a nice date to the fair or carnival or just a walk in the park

He’d buy you something cute and you would just walk and talk the entire time

And before you know it, it’s night and you’ve spent the whole day together

GK:

Would greet you with a bouquet of roses - no question

If it’s an afternoon date - he’d take you to a coffee shop

If it’s a nighttime date - he’d bring you to a fancy dinner

Either way, GK is feeding you

He loves sharing his favorite foods with people, especially people he cares about

He’s very quiet, there wouldn’t be a lot of fanfare, just the two of you eating together and hanging out

At the end, though, especially if it’s in the evening, he’d invited you inside for one last cup of coffee 😉

Heechan:

This would be the most fun date ever

Heechan would have no plans at all

He’d just pick you up and, hand in hand, take you wherever he wants to go

He might take you to a nearby park or to a museum or a cafe

Wherever he takes you, it’s full of jokes and laughing

He’s also the kind to sing to you whenever the mood suits him - his deep, dramatic voice that changes pitch every other word

Lune:

Does not go out

He doesn’t even ask, just walks up to you and tells you to join him for a movie

“Hey, come over, I got a new movie to watch with you.”

There would be snacks and blankets and pillows

and just the two of you on the couch

Lune, a clingy boy, would absolutely latch onto you, arm around your shoulders as he pulled you in close

It probably gets way too warm underneath the blankets, curled up next to Lune, but who cares.

Junseo:

Another traditional boy - probably meets your parents before he picks you up for the date

I have a feeling he'd take you to an amusement park

He wants to hold you close and nothing is better than roller coasters to cuddle

Or a haunted house!

Either way, there will be lots of cuddles because Junseo was made for cuddling

Yuku:

Cafés!

He probably takes a bunch of pictures too

Picturs of you and of the Cafe and whatever else he wants

He's so cute and sweet and will take you wherever you wanna go

Harry-June:

He is so chill he would probably just take you to a park

And you'd play some music and he'd dance

OR he’d take you to play video games

like at an arcade or something

But trust me, there is no mercy from Harry during video games

A/N: I promised @thedragonemperess that if xe finished xir project that I would give out a snippet of chapter six of TLW, xe did and so I must deliver.

Full Chapter Word Count: 2k and climbing

I sneak as quietly as I can, standing by the walls, not to look like a spy but because it’s where the floorboards are strongest. I then sneak into the room and open a cupboard, I’m not usually one to eat a lot in the morning, especially when I wake up because, like, who just wakes up and eats? That and I want to spend time with the others at breakfast, it’ll be our last meal together.

I pick out some blueberries and put them in a bowl, it’s not much but it’ll hold me over until real breakfast. I sit at the kitchen island, in the dark nibbling on the food when someone flips on the light switch.

I jump and put my hand on my heart, “Lord, you scared me!”

“Sorry Fianna,” Clint apologises, “I didn’t realise anyone else would be awake.”

“Wanda made me go to sleep early, she should know I get exactly eight hours sleep. What about you? Why are you awake at...” I trail off, throwing a berry in my mouth and checking the clock, “Half five in the morning?”

Clint smiles, making his way to the cupboards, “The kids, they usually have me awake around this time. And if not then Nathaniel does.”

“Nathaniel, he’s the little’un, aye?”

“He’s the baby, yeah, he’s almost a year old. How about you, do you have any siblings?” he questions, picking out an apple.

“Aw aye, I have Tommy, he’s wee brother, well I say wee. He’s eleven, and he doesn’t let me forget it. Him, and I count Wanda as my big sister.”

“Oh of course, she’s mentioned you a few times,” he takes a bite, “The puppy dog.”

I scrunch my nose, “You’ve seen that I’m more than a puppy, I’ve got claws, I’ve got fangs.”

“Not to Wanda, to her you’re her little sister. Someone she needs to protect, no matter how capable you are.”

I nod, “She wants to protect me, but she’ll do crazy things to do that.”

“We all do crazy things for family. Sure look at me,” he raises his arms at his sides, “I come back from retirement because the second I leave they all fall apart.”

“So what, you’re the pritstick glue that holds the team together?” I ask before taking a second to think, “No, yeah that checks out. You guys are weird.”

“Yeah, yeah we are kinda weird,” Clint agrees, “I mean we’re basically superheroes.”

I shake my head, “Yous are really weird. Seriously, the original team was a super soldier turned icicle who was thawed, a rich bitch in a tin can, an ex-russian assassin, a nerd who can turn into a beast, and Katniss Everdeen. Also Thor, a literal god who’s from space. I mean if you really think about it we’re all from space... but if you don’t really think about it, it helps.”

Clint laughs, “You’re one quirky kid, you know that?”

“I’ve been told.”

Headcanons for the Hyuuga brothers in a relationship

These are kinda influenced by the relationships they have with our OCs, but we tried to keep them as neutral as possible

Ryuuya

Always first to wake up. Would make breakfast for his s/o too, even if they don't have to wake up as early as him.

Pretty concerned about his s/o health, especially if they do a lot of office work. “Are you eating properly?” “Get up from time to time”. “Rest your eyes, don't look at the screen for too long”. “You should do some stretches and light exercise”.

Gets overprotective sometimes and, if his s/o tends to be rather independent, it can cause arguments between them. After cooling his head off, he always apologizes though.

On a day off, he would either stay at home or take his s/o somewhere no one cares about who they are. A ride on his bike to the beach he used to frequent with Ringo and Haruki, watching the sunset together with his s/o, and then having dinner at home is a perfect date for him.

Takes his relationship very seriously, and it's important to him that his s/o meets his family and they give them their blessings. He can't keep it a secret from them.

Best caretaker when his s/o is sick, along with Touma, but also expect a couple of “I told you so” from him.

The big spoon, the biggest spoon!

He can’t resist running his fingers through his s/o’s hair and caressing their neck, especially when he sees them from behind.

He's always busy, either with classes, recordings, or paperwork at the agency, but always makes time to check on his s/o once a day. Usually sends them a message asking how their day is going and reminding them not to overexert themselves at work.

Yamato

Dating Yamato means his s/o doesn't have a boyfriend, but also a personal trainer.

He's dense, yes, but when he finally realizes he has a crush, he would try to impress his s/o by showing off his muscles.

“Have you seen how strong I am?” “I can lift you with one hand.”

Now is the moment to praise his biceps, his waiting for it with puppy eyes.

At a festival or at the amusement park, he would get his s/o every prize they lay their eyes on. Shooting games, fishing games, UFO catchers… It doesn't matter what the challenge is, he always gives his all because he wants them to smile more than anything.

Will fight anyone if he sees they're bothering his s/o in any possible way.

He's terrible at flirting but can be surprisingly cute when it comes naturally:

From “You remind me of that monkey we saw at the zoo the other day, but prettier” to “Oi, you're hella pretty today. I bet it's those earrings. They look nice on you.”

This boy can't even talk about love without feeling all flustered, cut him some slack. No matter how many years he has been dating his s/o, his face becomes bright red when he says things like “I love you” or “You're precious to me”.

He thinks they are unnecessary since his s/o should already know he loves them more than anyone.

Due to his attitude and personality, clashing and disagreeing with his s/o is the order of the day.

Gets pretty angry when his s/o ignores him, he'll go and ask directly if something's wrong.

Touma

No one in the family knows he’s dating someone until he attends Ryuuya's wedding with his s/o.

Well, his grandfather knew.

“No one asked”, he says. And they realize it's true.

Even though, out of the four, Touma is the one who keeps his dating life private the most.

They met and started dating in college.

Study dates at the library! He has the patience to explain to his s/o anything they don't understand. Even if they’re not in the same class, he would read his s/o’s notes and explain them to them if necessary.

Likes to touch his s/o's hand under the table when they're studying together, and is really good at keeping a poker face and staying focused while he does it.

The one who makes intellectual remarks. But he can be a bit of a teaser too, how else would he had been able to survive with three delinquent jock brothers?

The first time he says "I love you", he whispers it in his s/o ear.

Prefers more relaxed dates, but would go to wherever place makes his s/o happy. Although, he would like to stop by a bookstore if there's a chance.

Would stay in bed for a little longer just to see his s/o sleeping.

His s/o is the only other person who can take off his glasses. He never lets anyone else touch them.

On rainy days, if his s/o has forgotten to bring his umbrella, he will offer to share his and walk them home.

Makoto

Nose kisses!

Loves seeing his s/o wearing his clothes. He never misses the opportunity to lend them one of his hoodies.

Super touchy, loves PDA. He’s always holding his s/o’s hand in public.

Likes to have his s/o sit on his lap.

He's gonna make sure everybody in the village knows who his s/o is.

Bowling dates. He would teach his s/o how to throw the ball for a strike, guiding their hand from behind. He's so euphoric after their first strike, that he would give them a tight hug, lift them off the floor, and spin around.

Always eager to go to the amusement park and ride all the roller coasters at least twice.

Has a very sweet tooth. He would buy the biggest cotton candy possible and share it with his s/o.

His s/o needs to be as energetic as him to keep up with his pace.

At high-school, he probably was in a sports club (soccer, basketball, maybe judo...) and loves it when his s/o goes to his matches and practices.

Gets all pumped up and tries to impress his s/o by scoring for his team.

Will dedicate the play to his s/o and wave them from time to time during the match, only to get scolded by his teammates.

Better if his s/o enjoys his brothers’ movies and dramas because he won’t stop talking about them.

But don’t use him to try to get close to Ryuuya or Yamato; he may be innocent, but not stupid.
