Genshin Sagau (?) Isekai Brainrot - Language

I've seen like ONE small kinda related Genshin Sagau/isekai idea for this but I wanted more of it so BAD

It’s not the most interesting thing in the world, it’s about our modern vernacular vs. Teyvat's flowery speech

Pls feel free to expand on or add to this pLEASE TAG ME IF U DO IM STARVING OUT HERE :)))

So I saw someone write like one sentence abt this (can’t remember who :( sorry I’ll update if I find them ) or like a brutally honest version??

But I also took inspo from how fucking wordy and long conversations that are in Genshin, even with ppl like Xiao (the rude boy that he is) or even Tighnari who gets to the point pretty quickly

It goes smth like:

So, all of Teyvet, (esp ppl like Zhongli 💀 u know the ones) talk,, flowery.

Like, the whole Pride and Prejudice style speaking, euphemisms, metaphors, for some characters (or Npcs) its full on POETRY.

Lookin’ at you Kazuha.

And going off of any variation of you being the Creator, (or otherwise an older mythical being?), they could have this thing where the older a deity/mythical thingy is, the simpler the speech.

Kinda makes sense to them y’know? The older beings are serious, commanding, intimidating

And nothing says "I'm ancient as fuck and powerful as fuck" like simple blunt speech.

And being closer to the literal creation of the world, language would understandably be less complex (I’m assuming it’s the same as in human cultures in our world's history)

Like literally look at our fantasy typical stories, plenty of them have a dragon or ancient god that speaks in extremes, like so flowery its a metaphor, or so bluntly its startling (ie, "Be not afraid." "I am all powerful." etc etc)

And so, ancient powerful being = direct/blunt speech

…

...Y'know,, almost like our modern vernacular.

Like, part of some of our modern day comedy is purely based on a sentence being delivered bluntly for impact

Hell our ads and videos and content in general we always want to get to the point, to say things simply

So with this in mind, even if you try to deny being the Creator, they might still think you are, or at least a more minor ancient deity/creature

(like the Seven Sovereigns/Phanes/Shades/etc. for example would sound eerily modern or at least easy for you to understand bc of this trait lol)

(Also I'm just assuming u know Genshin lore enough to know what I meant by that ^)

And with every person you meet, you're like, "Ok, no, I promise this is just how my country/world speaks, it's not like that, I'm not some ancient deity…"

And They're all like 🤨🤨🤨 "Well, fine traveler and companions, why does your speech sound so simplistic and sharp? Surely, you do not expect me to truly believe you.."

You: "Please I just talk like this, I'm a regular human."

Them: "Alright, if it is as you say,, you wish to not experience being "known" yes? Fear not, I will keep your secrets close to my chest."

You: "No, for the last time, that's not-"

And it just keeps happening, lol

(srry I tried my best at emulate Genshin language + flowery speech idk how to do it)

Like maybe you would just sound weird or like a foreigner speaking y’know in simpler sentences bc they don't know the language as well as native speakers, at least that could be how you sound to NPCs and ppl who don’t know abt simpler speech meaning

...But the Adepti? Zhongli?? Barbatos maybe??? Even the Aranara??? Those who are old enough to maybe have heard how older beings speak or at least have knowledge of how they should speak/sound??

You couldn’t have predicted how shocked their faces were the second you opened you’re mouth…

Sumeru scholars would freak tf out i stg, as soon as you meet Haypasia, she's already losing it, first the Irminsul progress, now this ancient being/Creator?? Girlie thinks its a sign lmao

(I’m an Aether lover, and also bc I think Lumine looks badass as Abyss ruler, so I’m gonna go with Aether for traveler sorry Lumine mains love yall T-T)

You, and Aether being equally confused at first pLEASE 😭

lets say he speaks a little more fluffy than you at least, after all I’m assuming bc of the outfit that he’s from a fantasy-like place, and his replies can be a little fluffy like Teyvat’s residents, so he kinda fits in, kinda like everybody assumes he's just from another country when he gets to a new nation (at least that’s what I think happens??)

Like after (maybe Diluc?) Lisa, Kaeya, Venti, and Jean (who I think would all be knowledgeable, thru diff means, about this enough to maybe recognize the simpler speech = ancient god thing)

ALL reacted shocked as hell at hearing you talk, and would probably explain (or Paimon before then?) in that infuriatingly roundabout way, that you would usually skip a couple dialogue boxes just to avoid bc yOU ALREADY GOT THE POINT or alternatively WHATS THE POINT HERE?? JUST SAY IT, WHATS THE COMMISSION/QUEST FOR/WHAT DO I DO??

(Those blue highlights be savin my impatient life, and i actually like lore stuff 💀)

Oh that’s also another frustration. For you.

It would drive me crazy if I had to wait like,, 2-3 minutes for ppl to explain what they ate for dinner or sm shit

Like, now imagine that’s everyone, about everything.

You don’t know how anything gets done in battles or wars, like you need faster communication for that right??💀

Anyway, you, Aether and Paimon decide you just gotta not talk when you first meet people or like,, make sure you're gonna be around that person for a while so you don’t have to possibly get someone over the shock of your speech every time you guys talk to people 😭 that'd be so miserable I can already tell,,

Like at first, every convo ya’ll have had with people who recognize that direct speech trait as a thing, would take at least 10 minutes to finish talking about it/being shocked,,

It got so old so fast.

(Like I already can’t communicate that good with ppl irl bc I misunderstand them, or they do me, or they just dont get what I mean, and as my friends put it, which I think would fit here for any language shenanigans we go thru in Teyvat, "A Shakespearean level of misunderstanding, hilarious but such a downward spiral to watch, it just gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on...")

On another note, making fun of someone would be so fucking funny,

I’d like to give myself the benefit of the doubt that many characters, after getting used to your speech, would generally understand you (even if they always notice it, like an accent) and would actually rlly love hearing insults or even just generally how you would put things

(like maybe treating this almost like those vids of ppl with non-native english speaknig relatives/parents and its the most hilarious thing to watch them, usually get pissed 😭, at their kid, if u dont know what I mean look up on tiktok or smth)

And You just come off like those insults where you dont even use cuss words, you just like, drag queen read them into never showing their face again, and you did it in so few words!!

They're amazed and oh,

that’s a very mean question anon how am i supposed to choose One favorite thing about my wife :(

there are a few… what comes to mind is her lack of self preservation, her kindness, and how she’s so selfless it may circle back to being selfish. there’s a scene in ishval where riza tells roy what’s happened is her fault for trusting the alchemy to him in the first place but not in an accusing tone. she doesn’t blame the men in her life that abused her trust and thinks she’s the one responsible for everything, even though those men were older and supposed to look for her. it’s kinda frustrating that she never gets openly mad at roy or at her father, but also such a fundamental part of her character too so even though it’s frustrating her acting like that is.. what i would expect from the character that acts like that in other situations too…!!!

despite roy already having broken his promise to her once, she decides to trust him again and to follow him into hell. it’s always emphasized how roy is idealistic to a fault, but riza is too. saying that flame alchemy drives good men insane… she has every reason to hate everyone and everything and to want to see the world burn but she stayed gentle and believes in change…!! where roy has hardened she stayed kind and you can see that in every thing she does… she’s so full of love and kindness and hope..

there’s so much more… how charming and funny she is, saying stupid shit with a straight face. if you look at manga the times riza is the one saying something silly and roy looking at her like 🤨 probably happen more often than the opposite LOL like there’s no way this person gets to hold the shared braincell imo. how she always respects the elrics, despite always acknowledging they’re kids she still respects them as they coworkers, and tells ed about ishval despite not having any obligation to but because she thought he deserved to know…. ah

basically it all comes back to riza being GENTLE and KIND and FULL OF LOVE, everything she says and does comes from that to me. how she has traits that are usually virtues but taken to an extreme become flaws. her being like that is my favorite. so sometimes i see it ignored to make her nagging and mean especially towards roy, even as a joke it annoys me a bit because she’s never like that…

her being like that is why i’m adamant about her being always at the receiving end of love and kisses and etc .. she gives out so much of herself without ever expecting anything in return i think she deserves to have others give to her the same love and devotion and feel responsible for her wellbeing like she does for others. she only sees worth in herself when she’s being useful to others so i think everyone needs to love her until she realizes she’s wrong

*SPOILERS FOR HOFAS* (even though it's been like almost 2 months guys get on it 🤨🤨)

So the Cauldron was wrong 🤩 Isn't that something?

And by wrong, we mean it was corrupted by the Asteri / Daglan to create the most powerful offspring. Not necessarily bonds that are of the soul or formed by love or whatever. Not saying this CAN'T also be the case, two things can be true at once, but for sure-confirmed-the Asteri tampered with the Cauldron to fix pairings that would produce powerful offspring (for them to snack on, I guess).

What does that mean? Does it mean every single mating bond currently out there is wrong and created only for the purpose of the most powerful offspring?

No. Not necessarily.

We don't really know where mating bonds come from. The Cauldron, the Mother, etc.

Just based off the fact that Feyre or Rhys didn't go into the cauldron, I think their bond is not from the cauldron. Could it still be called into question? Maybe, but I think it's been shown they would've chosen each other regardless of the bond.

But Elain & Nesta, their mating bonds were only revealed after they were dumped out of the Cauldron. Could we say that their mating bonds were given to them by the Cauldron and are therefore tampered with?

Perhaps. That's a solid possibility.

The thing is, Cassian had a feeling as soon as he met Nesta in ACOMAF that she was his mate. He felt something before she even went into the cauldron. So maybe their bond existed before the cauldron, meaning they don't have a cauldron-given bond either.

Now let's look at Elain.

Elain's mating bond with Lucien was revealed as soon as she came out of the Cauldron.

You can argue that "oh he showed mate behavior and stepped toward her before she went in" but so did Tamlin. Tamlin said stop, Tamlin lunged for the King. So there's no way to discern whether Lucien also voicing his anger was "mate behavior" or Lucien genuinely being upset that Ianthe sold them out and kidnapped Feyre's sisters. Not if everyone in the room also reacted the same way.

Elain was in enough distress and struggling as it was. Lucien did not feel the bond snap and realize she was his mate then. Not until after she went into the cauldron.

I think just from the order of events, it's logical to conclude the Elucien bond is Cauldron-given. Not saying it's 100% true or right, but it's a plausible theory. Who's to say that if Elain & Lucien had crossed paths before the Cauldron incident, maybe Lucien would have felt the same attraction and feeling as Cassian had towards Nesta. Things did not play out that way, though, so we can't make that conclusion yet.

So to recap, here's what we have discovered:

Cauldron = Wrong

Feysand bond = Not Cauldron-given

Nessian bond = Not Cauldron-given

Elucien bond = Cauldron-given

Let's do some simple math. If the cauldron is wrong, and the Elucien bond is technically the only one that's Cauldron-given... wouldn't it mean theirs is the only one that is wrong?

And yes, I am aware, I have a huge Elriel bias. But the Elucien mating bond being wrong doesn't automatically make Elriel mates or anything. It just means there is something sketch about their bond. It is not like the others, and we can see that through the sheer way it has been written in the text since it was revealed.

Lucien & Elain avoid each other. Are uncomfortable around each other. Don't talk, don't communicate, can barely even be in the same room, are attracted to other people.

Did we see ANY of that from Feysand & Nessian?

I stand by my statement. One of these is not like the others: Elucien is not like the Feysand & Nessian bond. And it's not just because we haven't received their POVs. It's because:

"what if the cauldron was wrong" - voiced by multiple characters, and confirmed in HOFAS

"Why not make them mates" - Feyre, when she refers to Azriel and Elain

"Can you reject a bond?" - Again, Feyre when she considers how incompatible Elucien is. "she cringed when she thought of Elain subjected to that... fire"

Nesta observing Azriel's secret, the charged glances between the two

Nesta being so protective of Elain but allowing her to go with Azriel without protest

"death and the lovely fawn" - endorsement from the High Lady herself

"What happens if someone rejects their mate? What if the forces put you to be with the wrong person? It offers a lot to explore this concept of free will vs. true love" - SJM herself, on the today show.

But i thought it was obvious 🤷🏻‍♀️

- rindou is actually very good at doing stuff with his hair - he doesn’t actually try too hard to make it look good, he just kinda cuts it however he thinks is best and then dyes it and it somehow always looks perfect

- if you ask him how he cuts his hair he can’t tell you a single thing he does - he just says “use scissors, obviously 🤨”

- he dyes and cuts it when he’s bored too - that’s why it always looks like it never grows out because he’s constantly maintaining it 🫶

- so it surprised you when his hair started getting a lot longer than it usually is and he said he wanted a mullet

- “come over i’m doing my hair” - he used to prefer doing his hair alone (it’s like a therapy session for him) but once you came over whilst he was in the middle of it and now he says he can’t focus properly unless he has you sat looking pretty on the counter next to him <3

- rindou always cuts his hair with no shirt on because he hates getting hair in the back of his clothes - he does it every time, even if you’re not with him but he loves seeing you sit there like 👁

- he let you help him cut it <3 usually he doesn’t because he doesn’t need any help but this style was kinda different to his last and he didn’t want to take any chances and fuck it up

- he cut the top of it whilst you trimmed the long bits at the back - you were trying to be so careful because he told you to just “even it out and make sure it’s all the same length” but it was so hard because he kept moving his head forwards and pulling his hair away from your hands >:(

- “rin, stop moving forwards, i’m gonna make a mistake!”

- he just laughs and goes “no you won’t, angel.” you could tell that was meant to be reassuring but also a “don’t you dare fuck my hair up.” kinda thing <3

- it’s okay though !! it turned out fine <3 he let you go over it and do that thing where you cut upwards to make it less straight - you were kinda impressed at how he managed to do it pretty well tbh

- like he had layers going on and everything 🧍‍♀️

- it was a bit messy in a few places but eventually he would even that out and it would look fine <3 it looked great as it was though

- he got hair all over his face so he got you to brush it off n you gave him kisses all over his face :( made him blush n lean into your touch <3 - he’s a big softie i don’t care how scary he wants to act

- he has no reasons for dyeing his hair purple. he just wanted to. like he walked into the shop, picked it up, and left without a thought.

- did not want to get hair dye on his hands so he used gloves and a brush. he made you use a brush too - he hates having coloured fingers for a week straight and he just prefers brushes

- he just slapped the light purple dye on top of the blue and blonde 💀

- he likes the smell of the dye too <3 like he inhales it straight from the bowl he loves it

- lets you do the front and top of his hair - rindou kinda just wanted to have you sat in front of him so he could look at you <3 every now and then he leans forwards to kiss your nose <3

- he does the back and afterwards he gets you to check it to make sure he didn’t completely miss a spot

- while you wait to wash it out he plays music on his massive stereo and dances around like an idiot <3 sometimes he has moments where he’s not scared to embarrass himself in front of you and it’s so fun :(

- he gets you to hold the shower over his head while he leans over the tub and washes his own hair - it’s so funny because every now and again he’s like “move it to the right- no not that far- Y/N!!”

- you’re just stood there giggling over how annoyed he gets over tiny things which makes you move it around more and he just looks at you upside down like >:(( - he’s trying so hard to act like he doesn’t find it funny too

- once he dries his hair he lets you do the darker purple bits <3

- it’s really relaxing too because the music’s been turned down so it’s softer coming from the other room and rindou’s just quietly telling you where to run the dye through his hair and telling you how you’re doing a good job :(

- you’re kinda just working together to try and make his hair look cool 😭

- “oh wait, we have a lot left… should we put some on the ends, too?” “wait, yeah, that would be cool!” “go on then, pretty, that’s your job <3″

- and after another session of rindou telling you where to hold the shower and you moving it the other way to annoy him it was finished <3

- “you look so pretty, rin.” ooo he’s so happy to have long hair to hide his blush now <3

- lazy ran >:( you gotta do everything for him. (mainly because he knows more about taking care of his hair rather than dyeing it and shit)

- i feel like he started to get recognised by people who aren’t in gangs too much - he would see random girls in the street like omg it’s ran haitani!! 🥰 and he’d be like what the fuck… and as much as he would’ve loved to have his little fan club of girls, he did not want to become a celebrity any time soon

- not when he’s just become part of bonten 🧍‍♀️new gang new him ig 🫶

- plus he was TIRED of brushing out his long hair and finding massive hairs all over the house since he always wears it down at home - rindou will never forget the time he found one in his food.

- you see… he was going to leave it at short black hair (he was acting like cutting it all off was gonna change much). you loved it and thought it looked great on him, he was literally in love with himself and taking pictures left and right… and then he saw rindou’s hair and he was like now hold on.

- ran makes sure that everything you do is done properly - he likes to take very good care of his hair and it’s very healthy so he doesn’t want to completely fry it with bleach if he can..

- “fucking hell, that stinks!” ran is not a fan of the bleach 🤷‍♀️

- “can’t smell as bad as your room.” you were prepared to run.

- he was very much invested in watching the black lift out of his hair and turn blond - he just sat there with his chin in his palm like :0 whilst you finished putting it on <3

- it was burning a little though and he kept itching it which was a pain in the ass for you - you’d be there putting the final bits of bleach on and he would just shove his entire hand in the way like 🖐

- he also just wipes his hands on his shirt and sweatpants after. so by the time you’re done there’s like the same amount of bleach on those as there is on his head…

- “can i wash this shit out now?” its been 10 minutes.

- he hates the fact that he has to take breaks in between each stage. like he really does contemplate going and taking a nap whilst he’s waiting to wash the bleach out.

- he gets you to wash his hair too <3 but you know how much he likes it when you touch and play with his hair so he saw the opportunity and took it

- he’s just leaning over the bathtub like 🥰🥰 while you rinse the shampoo out his hair - “gonna have to get you to do this all the time, angel… feels s’ nice.” that man is ready to fall asleep right there.

- dye time no way !!

- he mixes it up for you <3 not because he wanted to make himself useful he just thought it looked fun idk

- “wait, i wanna try!” he ends up getting it all over his forehead and he sits there giggling like an idiot when you go and grab a wipe to get it off before it stains his eyebrows or something 😭

- has you sit in his lap when you do the sides and front of his hair - it makes your job harder but having ran’s hands settled on your hips and thighs as he gives you little kisses makes it worth it <3

- likes to mess around with you too - “you missed a spot… no there- to the left- no, my left!” “i’ve been over that bit three times, ran!” “no, that was the other bit you missed, silly!

- you did not miss anything actually 🫶 he’s just an asshole

- once you’ve finished putting it on he wraps his arms around your waist and puts his chin on your shoulder <3

- “get that dye in my hair and i’ll shave your head, ran.”

- “you can match with me ‘n’ rindou!”

- once his hair is washed and dried it takes him ages to figure out where he wants to put the darker bits

- in the end he was like y’know what lets just put it wherever and see what happens 💀

- he was BORED. once ran gets bored of something his attention span goes out the window and he just wants to go and do something else or nap

- you stood in front of him to put the purple through the front of his hair and he was sat looking up at you like 🥰

- ran loves you <3

- once you’ve washed everything out for the third time that day you’d think everything was finished and you could go and chill and watch a movie or something

- ran wants to do a hair mask with you so you have no choice but to do one 🤷‍♀️

- if you think ran is gonna bleach and dye his hair like that all in one day without doing some form of hair care you’re insane…

- he puts it on for you and tells you how you did such a good job on his hair mwah <3

- when rindou comes home he’s stood there with a shit eating grin like “we’re matching!” as if the tattoos aren’t enough 😭

As a team neutral fan who loves both teams, i gotta say i heard the most strangest justification for the Rhaenyra’s Strong kids since I can at least understand some views but this 🤨🫤

This person was basically saying that Rhaenyra’s boys are legitimate and comparing it to the other infamous royal-bastards situation aka Cersei’s kids.

Their first point was that Laenor claims the kids, well you can argue so does Robert he literally says “my son joffrey” when Ned writes down his will. Then saying that their claim is through Rhaenyra, then, sure maybe then Jace being heir is fine but you can’t apply that to Luke since his claim of Driftmark isn’t.

Saying the Strong kids get their claim also because the King recognises them as heirs but King Robert does the same for Joffrey and they’re both UNAWARE of the illegitimacy of their heirs!

It doesn’t even matter because all that matters is public perception imo. Like at least the Lannister kids physical attributes can be explained through their mother but you gotta jump through hoops to say the Strong boys having brown-coloured attributes unlike their mother+father makes sense. Whatever the character themselves felt personally with the illegitimacy does not matter because inheritance has rules which dictate no matter what, legitimate heirs come first, this isn’t about people’s personal choice but about the law and precedent. (lowk same thing regarding viserys’ choice to have rhaenyra as heir even though i love her)

The morality of the situation is not important and what the “fathers” think doesn’t matter. Just because Cersei is an evil person doesn’t mean her kids shouldn’t be heirs especially since at least they look like their parent.

I love Rhaenyra but I don’t understand how anyone can view the kids as legitimate but I genuinely want to see why anyone in TB believes this for any reason since these reasons felt nonsensical to me. The only thing I can get behind is the fact that since Corlys, the Lord of Driftmark says Luke is heir, that Luke has a claim.

OBLIGATORY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS™ TOWARDS THE NEW OFMD S2 PICTURES

hi y’all. hi besties. every time i think i’m solid and stable on my feet, new footage absolutely pULLS THE RUG OUT FROM UNDER ME ANDNW. EVERY TIME I THINK I’VE SUSSED OUT THEORIES, NEW FOOTAGE IS LIKE LOL NOPE.

So let’s Ramble let’s Discuss because djwndnsnd MANY THOUGHTS HEAD SCRAMBLED-

So this one is the ✨easiest✨ (IN THEORY), and also so very delightful. BECAUSE LOOK AT THEM. LOOK AT THESE SMILEY SWEETHEARTS. LOOK AT THEIR OUTFITS AND TEA AND FOUND FAMILY VIBES!!!

I would assume this is on a different ship, or maybe on the “floating market” that was teases in one of the articles. I’m of course leaning towards the Red Flag Fleet based on previous material, but I can’t really figure why or WHERE in the season.

Employing help to catch up with the Revenge? Attempting to stay hidden because Stede ran from the Naval Academy and is subsequently a VERY wanted man? A bit of both?

Either way, CUTIES. (Also that SKY 😩😩😩)

The first knee-jerk reaction I had to it is an immediate post-reunion shot. He looks very confused—very SHOOK, if you will lol. And he’s still wearing the same shirt he’s been traveling around in for some time. It’s also relatively dingy, which tells me a bit of time has passed.

And that flooring behind him,,, Is that the DECK OF THE REVENGE???

SOOOOOO reunion taking a bad turn? Him tripping back over himself because Ed reacts ENTIRELY differently than he expects? Him just RECOILING in shock???

But then also, I’m like 👁👁, because I feel like it COULD be a misdirect. It COULD be something entirely different. Because I feel like they love doing that with previews lol. Something ENTIRELY innocuous and unrelated to what it APPEARS to look like.

He’s just so so beautiful, but of course we all knew that. WE ALL FIGURED AS MUCH.

I will say though, something that caught my attention in this shot are the marks/cuts on his face. Particularly, the mark/cut on his lip, because it matches up with-

THIS shot. And this in particular is really scrambling my brain l m a o because,,,

My running theory for this was that it was Ed going through some sort of “battling his past phantoms” type journey, and was working towards healing on his own. LITERALLY on his own, because I also thought this came after him falling off the ship/getting thrown from the ship.

And I ALSO thought that him meeting up with the bunch again would come with happiness/healing as a result.

SO SEEING HIM STILL LOOK SAD AND STOIC WITH A BLUNT??? HONEY????? HONEY DARLING??????? I THOUGHT WE WERE GOOD LMAO WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU’RE STILL SAD 😭😭😭

Unless it’s just something more serious, and he IS indeed feeling better. I mean, he doesn’t have his makeup or anything, so he COULD just be in a more grim situation of some sort.

like is frenchie carrying marmalade and ed saw it and pounced and is like ⚫️👄⚫️

because honestly that’s Valid.

But it’s also VERY interesting, because Ed’s makeup is off, and his HAIR is in that one lovely updo. So again, AGAIN, it makes it very difficult to tell what the motivations are/what the characters are feeling, because it’s like,,, ED BABE ARE YOU GOOD??? DO YOU FEEL BETTER??? OR WHAT AKDJWJDS

Regardless, REGARDLESS, I don’t know how they manage when I’m already through the ceiling, but I’m somehow vibrating at an even GREATER level than before. I cannot, and I mean, CANNOT wait to know the context behind all of these.

And cannot BELIEVE we’ll know in ✨less than a month✨
