Sometimes I hear people say that Rex's hair is dyed and bleached but that doesn't really make sense. Rex mostly doesn't have hair, it's practically completely shaved down save some incredibly short, blond fuzz. The days where you felt like neither a boy nor a girl. Being a young child, you didn’t know how to describe the feeling. And so, you pushed it away. 

Throughout middle school and high school, you claimed to just be “changing aesthetics” when you would have an off day, week, or month. Sometimes, you would wear a full face of makeup and tiny skirts, and other days you would opt for a plain hoodie and jeans. Sometimes I feel more feminine, sometimes more masculine, or sometimes in between. I’ve been experimenting with new hair and new clothes lately so I can have an androgynous style. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner.”

This is such a sweet picture. I’ve seen it pop up a few times on Tumblr.

And now I am going to ruin it. But then I’m going to try and unruin it! However, if you just want two girls kissing in nature then scroll on by and vote in some polls. It’s all good.

So this is an illustration from 1903 French novelette Le Poison des Pierreries (The Poisoned Stones) The two characters kissing are the Princess Alilat (the tall brunette) and the Prince Sparyanthis (the blond). Sparyanthis is eighteen years old and we weren’t yet at the point where we required super-buffness to indicate masculinity, so the artist depicts him as a pretty youth. But don’t stop reading! Because 1.) this is a tale of eroticism, revenge, obsession, and treacherous murder by sorcery, and who doesn’t love all that? and 2.) there is nothing straight about this couple or this novel.

Also, 3.) it’s pretty sexy. So, you know. Be aware fellow asexuals.

Le Poison des Pierreries was written by the author and essayist Camille Mauclair for his friend the Orientalist Georges Rochegrosse to illustrate. Orientalism was very pretty but very, very problematic and if you don’t know why you can easily find out by doing a search.

(BTW I am not an expert on textual analysis or art history, or queer and gender theory, and know almost nothing about the French language — when I get stuff wrong feel free to let me know! I’m sure at the very least there are lots of classical allusions I’m missing.)

The novelette tells of the distant city of Etesia. It is ruled by two brothers, the doughty warrior Cimmérion and the beautiful, decadent Sparyanthis. They are really really fond of each other. But in a way that wasn’t a big deal in 1903.

Cimmérion arrives home from war with the beautiful princess Alilat whom he has forced into marriage. Alilat is now the last of her house, thanks to Cimmérion, because he’s slaughtered everyone she ever knew, and she has opinions about this. Despite Sparyanthis’ best intentions, Alilat beguiles him, and they begin having an affair while Cimmérion is away hunting each day. ‘Two women kissing in nature’ is the moment when Sparyanthis finally gives in to his desire for Alilat.

But Alilat is (understandably) after revenge for herself and her people, and she uses her sorceries to bring a strange malady upon Cimmérion that robs him of his strength. At the same time she relishes the agonies of guilt Sparyanthis feels over his ongoing betrayal of his beloved brother.

Eventually everyone dies!

But until that happens there is a lot of queer sex going on.

The Queerness

So we can try and read this story as someone from 1903, or we can read it as someone from today. In 1903 it’s a story of masculinity as a vital, conquering, barbarous force versus femininity as a languid, yielding, civilising… perhaps too civilising… influence. A healthy nation was thought to be warlike and ever-expanding. Old civilizations — like the ancient nations of the East — were regarded as rich but dwindling due to becoming too decadent; their sexual mores (which the West took a not at all creepy interest in; c.f. Richard Burton) were held to be intriguing but Not The Done Thing. A proper western couple — one (1) man + one (1) woman, married — had quick, penetrative sex and then went to sleep or something idk. This is how Cimmérion takes Alilat, and she loathes him for it (there’s a line about her ‘being thrown down upon the couch of the conqueror’ and having to endure his caresses). Real men are too busy hunting or making war or running kingdoms to bother much about girls.

But Sparyanthis is quite a different sort of person from his dull brother. He wanders around the palace in women’s clothes having sex with whoever he finds; the explicit incidents are with women, but there are plenty of young men in the illustrations. And everyone is down with it because the Etesians are known for two things: war and having A LOT of sex, never mind with who (at one point Spary can seek out Aliat at night because all the servants are busy making out with all the soldiers in alcoves).

Both in words and illustrations Mauclair and Rochegrosse suggest Sparyanthis is a young woman. He is ‘more beautiful that all the maidens of that country’. He is frequently described as wearing women’s robes, or of being naked except for his jewellery. He is languid and wanton (not vigorous and virile like Cimmérion), with golden tresses and soft, white limbs. There are suggestions that he is sometimes rouged or kohl-eyed, but I don’t trust my translation enough to say for sure. He lies around on couches and beds a lot, and delves into non-manly stuff like magic and secret knowledge. There’s much made of how devoted to each other the two brothers are because of their differences. Soft, white Sparyanthis idolises tanned, brawny, bearded Cimmérion, and Cimmérion ‘adores Sparyanthis’ beautiful body’.

Alilat, meanwhile, is not an Etesian and is accustomed to wearing sombre modest clothing (there is a scene where Sparyanthis invites her to one of his afternoon gambols, and when everyone strips off and starts making out Alilat remains in her black robes and pointedly focuses only on her host, Sparyanthis, and he wonders what’s going on). But once she seduces Sparyanthis, she starts playing with gender too: she frequently meets him dressed in masculine clothes, while he is still in his woman’s garments. She is a vital force, determined as she is to achieve her revenge, and this is juxtaposed with Sparyanthis’ languorous attitude. She is compared to a hunter, and him to the quarry.

Alilat explicitly cannot stand the touch of a man, so she's having an affair with the beautiful, voluptuous Sparyanthis... because neither her nor the story considers him a man.

She intends to destroy both Cimmérion and the city of Etesia, and she takes a devilish glee in how tortured with guilt Sparyanthis is, but she does seem to be as sexually obsessed with him as he is with her. And there are moments of maternal kindness too, where she fondly treats Spary like a younger sister.

So while in 1903 it’s a story of what city-destroying calamities happen when men and women don’t follow their natures or whatever, today it reads like messed up queer people having a lot of queer sex. And I think it’s definitely much more fun to read it that way.

The Sex

So I am demisexual and modern sex stuff doesn’t really do much for me. But, tell you what, 1903 veiled door sex knows what it’s about.

Everyone is having great sex here, and it’s implied that because of all this sensuality the kingdom is doomed to fall: the ‘warm voluptuousness’ is ‘softening the men’. You just can’t run a country while everyone’s fucking all the time, and Mauclair is here to tell you all about how bad an idea it is.

No sex is ever described (though it’s taking place in the background of at least one illustration), so the excitement is all in the set-up: Alilat abducts and fucks Sparyanthis while dressed as one of his own archers (“and seized him with the audacity of a soldier taking a weak, conquered Syrian”). A magician approaches Sparyanthis while he is studying the stars in his chambers and traces on the ground with a wand the symbol for an astrological union, and then opens her robe enough to reveal her breasts and they have sex with Alilat still wearing her false beard. I mean

They met in secret caves and rut like beasts, howling, then sit in the throne room in their official robes and give each other secret looks (which, to be fair, is kind of like every new love affair).

Sadly there are no illustrations of any of this! I guess Rochegrosse just wanted to draw beautiful youths embracing and had no time for Mauclair's gender-switching antics, and I think that's a shame.

Anyway, because Cimmérion has laid hands upon Alilat without her permission she has come up with a very particular murder scheme. She tells Sparyanthis that Cimmérion prefers to take her ‘naked save all her jewellery’ and so she enchants her jewellery to burn away his vitality while it caresses his bare skin — the Poisoned Stones of the story’s title. The very act of sex brings about the stoic Cimmérion's murder.

Everyone in Etesia is making out with everyone else, and Cimmérion’s and Alilat’s marriage seems to be the only expected exception to all this polyamoury or so you would think. But then comes the kicker at the end: as Cimmérion lies on his death bed he tells Sparyanthis and Alilat that he knew all about their secret love the whole time and he was totally okay with it: they should carry on with his blessing. Sparyanthis is not okay about that. But too late, bud.

Anyway, not two women kissing in nature, but — I think — two genderqueer people kissing in nature. Read it for yourself! It’s really short!

(Okay, so this is too long already, but Alilat is just so cool. She sends dreams to Spary and begins seducing him before they've even met.

There’s this whole bit where she summons up a spirit of fire from the underworld to infuse her jewellery with wicked magics, and Sparyanthis is like “Do we need to use sorcery? Can’t we just stab him?” and Alilat says “Don’t be such a nerd, Sparyanthis, I wanna do it with evil sex.”

And there’s also another part where she’s wondering about how it will all turn out once Cimmérion is dead, and she’s thinking that maybe she’ll usurp the throne, but then again maybe she’ll just destroy the kingdom and then ride out across the desert as it falls, laughing, and then she’ll go to the mountains and establish her own country of sorceresses and she will be their queen.

And hey, maybe the Alilat who ‘died’ was only a simulacrum and the real Alilat did just that. I hope so, people should just leave a girl alone.)

Movie!Cassidy is an Afton - an entirely speculative theory

(CW FOR DISCUSSION OF CANON TYPICAL HARM AGAINST CHILDREN)

A starting note

I do believe our little boy in Golden Freddy is named Cassidy, because Cassidy in the game universe is not confirmed female. Again I remind you all that Scott does not confirm fuck about these games. Fans have a tendency to claim their headcanons or whatever new fanon theories get popular have been confirmed to be canon. This is basically never true. Look at the semi-recent "Gregory is Scott's favorite" ordeal for an idea of how this information is shared in good faith and gets twisted nonetheless. Look at the comments under a fnaf au gacha life video for an idea of how people just straight up lie about that.

Cassidy in the games refers to himself as "he" and "him", we never see his physical appearance enough to make any judgment calls on his gender- any idea of his appearance is totally speculative, just like this theory- and most importantly, Cassidy is not exclusively a girls' name- it's actually a unisex name that started as a masculine one! It derives from the Irish surname Caiside, then became a masculine forename, then as it became anglicized as Cassidy it became unisex. In both modern day and the 80s, it is and was applicable as a boys' name.

Now, with that in mind, on to actual discussion of the Afton theory, and why I think movie Cassidy is one.

They look strikingly similar

Compare, for a moment, the appearances of Vanessa, William, and Cassidy. I'm using pictures of their actors because the pictures of them I could find online SUCKED.

William: Light skin, straight(?) brown hair, blue eyes. Vanessa: Light skin, straight blonde hair (though it's wavy in this picture, it's definitely straight for Vanessa), blue/maybe green eyes. Cassidy: Light skin, straight blonde hair, blue eyes.

The movie does suggest that Vanessa colors her hair blonde from brown (see: the brown roots), however, when she shows the photo of her childhood self and her father off to Mike, young Vanessa clearly has blonde hair as well.

And notably, her roots are just as blonde, suggesting that blonde was her natural hair color, but that it darkened as she got older, only for her to begin bleaching it back to its original color.

Now, blonde hair and blue/green eyes are both quite rare, but not rare enough that it's a dead ringer for a genetic connection. Hell, the Chica girl has blonde hair and blue eyes. However, Susie in the games has blonde hair and blue eyes, and Cassidy in the games very clearly has brown, and likely dark hair as well.

This makes the change to blonde with blue eyes very noticeable, and very noteworthy. And it’s a set of traits that he shares with Vanessa, as well as the notable blue eyes with William, as well as appearing to have a similar face shape.

Cassidy is inexplicably special

Cassidy is the first person who shares the image of Afton as Spring Bonnie with Mike when asked about who took Garrett. He seems more aware than anyone else of William, Garrett, William’s crimes, and what they’re doing.

When Mike asks who took Garrett, Cassidy responds by drawing a rabbit in the dirt- Spring Bonnie. (I will come back to this momentarily.) While the other kids believe Spring Bonnie is their friend, Cassidy seems to know the truth. He knows Garrett is dead, and offers Mike the chance to essentially see his ghost in exchange for Abby.

Furthermore, Cassidy doesn’t ever attack Abby, he doesn’t respond when William tells the children to wake up and go after her, and most interestingly-

When Abby shows the missing kids what happened to them (in a scene I actually loved, btw, and I will take absolutely no criticism), you can see Jeremy in blue, Gabriel in the top hat, Fritz with the hook hand, Susie with long blonde hair, and… what I believe might actually be Garrett with dark hair and a red shirt. Because one thing is clear- that is not Cassidy.

Cassidy is not being controlled. He is fully aware, and he is angry. Hell, if you listen to his tone when he says “we want Abby,” it’s angry. Forceful. “We. Want. Abby.”

Again, Cassidy knows what is happening. He is angry and vengeful, and he’s the only one. So… why?

Well, honestly, this was my big qualm with the movie. Why was Cassidy special? In my eyes, there are four answers to this. He has a direct connection to William, a direct connection to Fazbear, a direct connection to every missing child that is unique to him, or he was the first or last of the missing kids. These would all set him apart. But we have no reason to believe he has a connection to FE, he was the fourth of the five missing kids as seen in the opening, and it seemed like the five of them were a group of friends. So what makes him special? He obviously knows or has something that sets him apart.

The imagery

Let me rewind now to when Mike first gets his answer about who took Garrett. He finds Cassidy in the woods and asks him for help remembering Garrett’s kidnapper. Cassidy responds by showing Mike a drawing of Spring Bonnie. Again, he knows that Spring Bonnie is evil, but more importantly here, he knows that Spring Bonnie took Garrett. Now, there are three ways he could know. One, process of elimination- the rabbit took him, so it took Garrett too. Two, assuming a relation to Afton, he saw or knew when this happened. Three, it was a matter of association.

Well, I actually doubt it was either of the first two. (You will see why this is not self contradictory in a second.) One, if it was because Spring Bonnie took Cassidy, well, Mike asked about Garrett, not Cassidy. For someone as obviously aware as Cassidy is, this is an obvious logical gap I doubt he’d make.

Two, Vanessa- Afton’s known daughter- didn’t know what happened to Garrett. When Mike asked- "asked"- if she knew, she said "not about Garrett." And while we don't have a clear timeline here (thanks Vanessa for your very ambiguous "in the 80s, kids went missing", we. we know), this was likely Afton's first kill. Meaning Cassidy was even younger then than he was when he died.

So, what do I mean by "it was a matter of association"? And how is this not self contradictory?

Well, assuming Cassidy didn't just. know Afton did it, what might have happened instead actually works even better with the idea that he knew Afton.

Compare the imagery here to that of the photo Vanessa shows Mike.

Spring Bonnie and the toy plane. If he saw Spring Bonnie and Vanessa with Garrett’s toy, seeing Garrett with that toy, he could assume that Spring Bonnie got it from him. Therefore, Garrett was taken by Spring Bonnie- Vanessa and Cassidy’s dad in the costume.

Their relationship

This one I’ll keep short. We only see Cassidy and William interact once. And it’s a very bizarre scene.

William is struggling, clinging to life, and Cassidy is standing, watching. Someone else said he was crying here, but I didn’t see it. Maybe, maybe not. I’m leaving that there. Either way, William reaches out to Cassidy, seemingly for help, and Cassidy shuts the door on him.

Watching the movie back and realizing Cassidy was never under William’s influence, this scene is… confusing, to say the least. Why would William reach for the help of the one child who was never under his thumb? What is he trying to appeal to? And why does Cassidy get the moment of being the one to shut the door on him?

Well, it’s obvious to see through Vanessa and the four missing children under his control that he is very clearly abusive to his children. Which isn’t a surprise to most, but anyway. Through the few minutes he and Vanessa are together, he berates her, strangles her, stabs her in the stomach and leaves her for dead, and Mike remarks that William “really messed [her] up”. He similarly berates and insults the missing kids, calling them pathetic and small. At the same time, however, he relies on his children to back him up. Vanessa is supposed to keep Mike from knowing anything and kill him if he gets too close. The animatronics are supposed to kill children and adults alike on his command. He leans on them. They are supposed to back him up.

And this would extend even to the one who he never controlled entirely if Cassidy was his son. His daughter let him down. His victims turned on him. But he still has one child left who hasn’t let him down. One who wasn’t there for him, but should be. Because that is the job of William’s children.

He reaches for Cassidy, the boy shuts the door on his murderer. The man who abused, betrayed, and slaughtered him all while he was meant to be his dad. William’s son is not going to clean up his messes now. He’s going to make him pay for them.

“CHOI JIUNG OPEN THE DOOOOOOOR”, the banging of the door causes you to jump off of jiung.

You turn back to the freshly blonde haired boy with the most scared expression.

“Stay here and make it look like we were messing with my studio stuff, okay?”, he says kissing you one last time before fixing his hair and walking out the door.

You quickly scramble to make it look like you guys were recording, logging onto his laptop and pulling up a random file just in time for your friends to pile in the room.

You and jiung had been secretly friends with benefits for a few months, of course both of you had been on your fair share of dates with other people but with jiung, it’s peace, comfort, and passion.

You both agreed to never mention it to your friend group cause honestly there wasn’t really much to mention, coming out and saying, “oh hey guys, btw jiung and i have been hooking up for the past few months” isn’t an ideal conversation.

“Took you guys long enough, oh my gosh”, keeho says dramatically while coming in and giving you a hug.

“The food was starting to get cold too”, kai says pouting, following keeho in and placing the food on the counter, “the least you guys could do is show us what you were working on”

“You guys came right in time, he was one second from breaking down the door i swear”, the pink haired lily says going straight to sit next to you.

You and jiung share a look, thank god you guys were actually recording before things started to take an explicit turn.

Just as you turned back to the group, huening picks up your opened notebook, “wow y/n, i didn’t know you wrote like this”, he says clearly interested in the lyrics written down.

Jiung never intruded on whatever happened with you and your ex, whatever you told him is what he knows and that’s that.

What he knows for certain is that you avoid him like celebrities to paparazzi, thankfully he never comes to the cafe, at least never when you’re working.

Jiung looks at you with a smile, those lyrics written down were about you and your progress moving on from him.

Although you weren’t as confident as jiung was in becoming and artist, he helped you realize that if you wanted to, you could.

Even if it weren’t exactly a year yet, you changed so much, not in a bad way of course, you just became more mature and perceptive.

What you and yang lacked was communication, even if you two loved each other, the best you could do for yourself was to keep moving on.

“The lyrics sound better when jiung sings them, he wrote the rap and i did the chorus it’s giving masculine energy more than feminine”, you say smiling at the group.

“Well then, let’s hear it!!”, lily says excitedly as the other two boys agree with just as much enthusiasm.

(1/2) OKAY, so strike any of these down at will because arranged marriage verse is YOUR BABY, but I came to you once with a whiff of Brocedes for this verse, and I have been pondering it A LOT because I would eat up toxic!Brocedes preceding a delicious Sewis in this au like a rich stew. I like to think of your arranged marriage!Lewis as very similar to the Lewis of right now, so comfortable with himself and his self-expression, loves creativity and bringing something different and fresh, and I think from your Seb’s jewelry selection (A+++ btw, I adore you so much for your work in furthering the cause) it’s not too far off! Contextually, maybe your Sebastian fell pretty hard for a certain Mark Webber once, a relationship Lewis knows affected Seb deeply, whether it was a passionate love affair, or just passionate hate sex is up to anyone, but very strong feelings involved for sure! And Lewis looks at Mark and sees someone who you might file under the traditional definition of masculine, someone with interests so different from his own, and thinks: Seb’s last (memorable) relationship was the exact opposite of himself. Maybe a closer comparison point is a certain Jenson Button, who always flirted outrageously with Seb and Seb flirted back (whether anything came of it…I leave to you). Lewis knows he doesn’t have Jenson’s easy charm or friendliness, he’s had to learn to protect himself too much for that. And he thinks Seb is very funny, but Lewis doesn’t have the natural instinct for a prank that will make Seb laugh like Jenson did. Lewis doesn’t like the things they like, he doesn’t look the way they look, truly the only thing he has in common with these men of Seb’s past are that he’s caught in Seb’s orbit just like they were. He’s clearly so far off the mark (haha) of Seb’s type. (On his pettiest days, in a secret corner of his mind, maybe he curses how much taller Mark and Jenson are 😊). And Seb wouldn’t have to concern himself about certain things with those men that he does with Lewis. He knows Seb is too kind to say anything mean about anyone much less Lewis who is his friend, but in the months after their contract, when Lewis puts on one of his more editorial looks, or he goes on one of his rants about special needs access in schools, or they end up at an event or dinner where he can’t eat anything because they don’t have vegan options, he’s always a little hesitant for Seb’s reaction, he’s always holding out for the day he becomes “too much” for Seb, just like how he became “too much” for Nico (too much drama, too much trouble, too much Lewis, he guesses, he’s not sure, he never asked Nico to clarify). It’s probably a good thing that their contract is so well-constructed and has a clear end-date because Lewis may love waking up to Seb’s baking and their walks with Roscoe and dragging Seb to surf with him and Mick, but that’s Lewis’ problem because if he keeps forcing his company on Seb past these boundaries they’ve set, he knows one day Seb will get tired of looking up a vegan alternative to the recipe he’s making or be annoyed at having to listen yet again to Lewis’ frustration over a journalist’s baiting question, and Lewis would rather keep his friendship with Seb at the end of all this, he wants to be in Seb’s life in whatever way Seb will let him, that’ll have to be enough.

(2/2) ON THE OTHER HAND, I love to imagine the opposite problem for your Sebastian! Where Lewis looks at Mark and Jenson and thinks “I’m nothing like Seb’s past lovers ☹”, your Seb looks at Nico and thinks, “I’m too much like Lewis’! ☹” (Sorry to Nico fans but) Your Seb who was definitely around during the implosion of Nico and Lewis’ relationship, knows that Lewis was in love with Nico for nearly a DECADE, thinks the depth of his friendship with Lewis couldn’t compete with this literal childhood and life he shared with Nico! He looks in the mirror and he sees the blond hair, and he hears the German accent, and that’s already a few painful strikes he’s sure, but it’s not just the physical similarities! He also thinks of himself as pretty privileged, maybe not to Nico’s extent but he grew up very comfortable, and he’s done enough self-reflection to admit he can be pretty caustic and competitive and petty at times (channeling Multi-21, Baku 2017, Canada 2019, bastard Seb my beloved). Nico also never understood Lewis’ obsession with fashion (Lewis once wore the Turkey 2021 skirt combo and Nico made a joke about “my girlfriend” and the way that Lewis faltered when Nico laughed made Seb want to punch Nico out even then), and Seb can readily admit he’s the least fashionable person in any room. Most of all, Sebastian knows he’s never been judged for how he looks or what he wears, he’s never had someone think horrible things about him because of the color of his skin, he’s never had anyone assume he was a visitor in his own home, or been told as an 8-year-old that he would never amount to anything or have the Daily Mail print garbage about him for something as innocuous as taking a vacation, or the million other things Lewis has gone through. He still feels woefully ignorant on so many things no matter how many hours he spends researching Lewis’ initiatives and outreach and systemic racism and dyslexia and police brutality and he knows Lewis definitely deserves better than that! Sebastian thinks bitterly that just like Nico, he’s not the partner Lewis deserves at his side. He doesn’t know that Lewis watched him tell dad jokes to giggling children at a school they’re visiting as part of a dyslexia awareness campaign (one of the many causes he’s proud to have Seb stand so vocally with him on) and had to physically restrain himself from going over to kiss him. Just like Lewis doesn’t know that the time Sebastian had come with Lewis to Law’s studio for the final 2021 Met Gala fitting he had ducked out the room not for the fictitious phone call he had told Lewis he had to take, but because it made Seb’s heart clench a little too tightly to see how breathtaking Lewis looked in the delicate white lace and the pearls at his neck, and he had allowed himself one selfish moment to imagine how Lewis might look on their wedding day before banishing the thought forcefully because the thought that Lewis might want to marry him in truth, in front of all their friends and family? Fanciful and childishly self-indulgent for sure.

For a little fluff to cleanse the palate: I love an outsider POV as well, so I can see Seb texting Angela trying to carve out a space in Lewis’ schedule for that skydiving trip he knows Lewis is aching for, or Lewis reaching out to Mick about that motorcycle that Mick showed Seb once that Seb’s been talking about forever because their anniversary is coming up and if he managed to get that thing into the house wrapped up in a huge ribbon, Seb would laugh himself to tears. Mick and Angela are the true heroes, suffering through these idiots not realizing how much the other loves them. 😊 OKAY derangement over, that’s my take on a maybe backstory to these two, I hope it brings you a few minutes of entertainment if nothing else!

also anon you and i are sharing a brainwave because i treated myself to half an hour uninterrupted Thinking about this au on my run and i was thinking about seb rushing home to change into a lewis-approved outfit for the art gallery opening lewis is hosting... plain black slacks, a light blue shirt and a lush forest green sweater, cozy and soft, and how he gets there and sees lewis surrounded by all these stylish, talented people, lewis the focal point of the conversation -- miles, in town for the opening, touches lewis's arm and nods at seb and lewis turns around and his smile is blinding. he's wearing a burgundy suit with a mesh top underneath, he's the most beautiful person in the entire room. and seb walks up to him and kisses his cheek softly and thinks, wow, there is no way he'd choose me if he actually had a choice. lewis has dinner plans with miles and tells seb that he made the reservation for three, in case he wants to come and seb's like -- he would actually love to come, but lewis sees miles so rarely and surely he also wants to talk about how living together is and he should have this space to talk about his feelings. if their marriage was real, he could go, but it isn't, so.
