FIGHT SCENE (that came to me while sick and slightly out of it so bear with me if it sounds CRAZYYYY)
Jazz is fighting some villain. Villain tries to use her dead brother as emotional collateral. She ignores it, seemingly unaffected, and continues to fight.
At some point the villain will be almost defeated, awaiting the final blow. They try one final plea to the red haired woman defeating them, “What would your brother say?”
At that moment, a boy falls through the ceiling, landing on the ground in front of the woman with a smug smile on his face. “I’D SAY -Actually wait hold on a sec.”
The boy gently tugs on the woman’s foot. “Jazz c’mere!” He loudly whispers.
She lets out an irritated sigh, says “Fine.”and hops over until her foot is lightly resting on his stomach. It’s almost picturesque. Her standing triumphantly on the boy who has now dramatically put his hand to his head.
He cries out (with a shit eating grin on his face), “OVER MY DEAD BODY!”
Villain: …
Danny: …
Villain: …
Danny: GET IT? Because I’m DEAD???
Jazz: “Ugh, you’re SO dramatic.”
Danny: Eh, it was funnier in my head.
Villain: …But he’s not dead?!
Danny: Would a LIVE person be able to do THIS? *does something completely normal and human*
Villain: …
Danny: …
Villain: yes.
Danny: Dammit. How about THIS? *does another completely normal human thing*
Villain: …
Danny: …
Villain: …also yes.
Danny: You’ve gotta be shitting me.
Jazz: Just soup them already!
Danny: No no! I will figure this out! How about THIS?
Villain: Yes but WHY would you WANT TO?!
Danny: Ugh Fine. What about this one??
Villain: …I personally don’t know how to do that, but yes that is something a person could do.
Danny: Really? It’s easy! Here, let me show you!
Jazz: …
Jazz: I’m going home.

what's really fun about embracing batman's antics as a parallel or representative to BDSM culture is like. the doylist explanation is that the secret identities are such a large part of the plots
but from the watsonian perspective, why does no one pull off each other's mask?
why don't the villains pull off batman's mask? not just during a physical fight, but during the others - when scarecrow knocks him out with poison, when the riddler knocks his head in to put an exploding collar on him, when the joker drugs him so he can do his weird shit to him?
why do none of them pull batman's mask off during regular fights, unless the pulling off his mask is SPECIFICALLY a plot point of the comic? why doesn't batman pull off bane's mask, or catwoman's?
why in gotham do people generally let other people keep their masks on?
unless it's a specific plot point of the story, as i said, in general everyone - both villains and heroes - respects the other side's anonymity to a certain extent. the villain is only unmasked once they are caught and apprehended, the hero almost never
and it's because like. the masks are part of it, right. their identities are part of it. both villains and heroes engage in these personas to represent parts of their identities that are otherwise stunted or repressed
where the likes of wonderwoman and superman appear in their superheroic antics unmasked - implying that THESE are their "true" identities, implying that there is little artifice to them - batman is an alterego of another man
and yet, as many kinksters will tell you, a mask does not necessarily create the repression your real face does. wearing a mask or a disguise or costume can, in fact, strip away layers of artifice - as it does in the soul of batman
batman is cold where bruce wayne often doesn't permit himself to be. batman laughs at joker's or other freaks' jokes sometimes, and makes dry - dark - quips of his own.
batman goes out in the rain and beats people up, and craves to be beaten up in return.
and yet he doesn't tear anyone's mask off - and for the most part, they don't go for his. joker even comments on it in some things, talks about how it would ruin the game if he unmasked him, and that in itself is a sort of metacommentary on what i'm discussing here
as i've said before, all superheroes are kind of gay, and kind of kinky, because what they do - being in the closet and having a secret identity; having a special costume and/or mask and/or powers that you don't usually have when closeted, etc - but here like
there is an implicit boundary here between superheroes and supervillains where they don't cross this line, and it's to do with maintaining the sanctity of the "space" in which they're "playing" (not playing) together. they maintain their respective identities to maintain the vibe
the villain is unmasked when they are apprehended because that marks the end of play, in which their identity is stripped from them as punishment for being apprehended; the hero is unmasked when the villain wishes to graduate the level of pain and/or remove them from the space
this tbh is also why i love so much when like. the joker makeup is literally burned into his face and is just Like That now - it's the idea that this was once or WOULD HAVE once been an alterego, but it is now permanent whether he likes it or not
because the fundamental point of the joker is that he can't stop, won't stop, because he is so devoted and so deep in his villainy - and that while batman and bruce wayne are a few identities deep, he might as well always be wearing the cowl, even though ppl can't see it

Fourth floor: Jason Todd x reader
Tumblr media
Imagine Jason having a target.
A new gothamite villain pretending to be a regular, common civilian, living in a tenement house, having his little happy famliy that had no idea of his real proffesion.
Real profession being the most bloodthirsty, ruthless crime boss that Gotham has ever seen.
Yes, worse than Black mask, Joker, Bane, Riddler or whoever else.
And being who he wa Jason made it his personal mission to eradicate the rodent.
And since while gathering intel he learnt that his family (his wonderful, clueless wife and his innnocent princess of a daughter) were out of town, the best way of dealing with shit was to get his target alone in his apartment.
After all, in his lair he was always surrounded by his minders. And why bother making it harder than necessary when Jason could have a clean in and out in villain's flat.
Well-
Jason had intel, had preparation, skills and a perfect plan.
But what he didn't have is a little bit more of an orientation.
Becuse by some crazy accident he confused the flats and instead of entering the crime boss's one?
He broke into yours.
Not realising it at first.
At least not until he got hit with a baseball bat and met with a fuming girl that looked a lot like rabid squirrel.
"the fuck!?" she struggled against the grip Jason had on her wrist while holding her arm up, almost making her legs dangle in the air "who the fuck are you?!"
"You're not him." Jason, the-smart-cookie-Todd stated watching her fight against him despite having zero chances.
"Him? The hell! Look I may be a little disheveled but I think it's obvious I'm a woman."
"Yeah... sorry..." he let go off her wrist trying to calm the girl down. The last thing he needed was a hysterical female making a fuss in the entire building and startle his quarry "I was looking for..."
"Oh, yeah, he lives on fifth, this is fourth."
"What? How are you--"
"Common mistake. Unlike many other buildings in the city we have ground story, so-" she shrugged
Jason grunted in some sort of appreciation, but before he could leave she called his name.
Not his real name, obviously, the vigilante one!
"Be careful, Hood."
"I know how to handle myself." he almost hissed in annoyance at those stupid words.
"Yeah I know. Just thought you haven't heard those for a longer while and you look like you need to know someone actually care and appreciate your work. Not just Bats' one."
Good thing she didn't see him blush under the helmet.
And even better thing she didn't know that after dealing with his mission, Jason actually stalked her a little.
Learning her name and profession.
Making it his other personal mission to hear those words from her again.
Maybe not only as a Red Hood.
And he smiled to himself, when in the middle of some other cold, dark Gotham night he subconsciously found himself standing on the rooftop of the opposite building.
Staring right into her window.
Fourth floor.
Noted.

Gotham Ghost AU, let’s go.
Ellie wakes up in an alley in Gotham after the whole Portal Incident Part II: Electric Boogaloo goes down. she’s fully stabilized now, but she’s also in a whole new universe because, y’know, you put a half-finished halfa in the middle of an opening portal… things get kinda weird.
she’s lost in a completely new place with no idea what’s going on, and worse, she’s in Gotham. one wrong turn in this place and you’ll end up worse than dead (or half-dead, as it may be), so obviously Ellie has to invoke Murphy’s Law and wander right on into the current disaster zone, thereby gathering the attention of none other than the Joker. she panics, maybe mistakes him for a ghost or something, and instead of running or freaking out like any ordinary gothamite would, she… punches him in the nose.
and now there are rumours.
I mean, you don’t just deck the Joker and get off scot-free. the Joker himself is now interested, because her entire color palette inverted (much like his and Harley’s), but she’s in greyscale? the Joker wants details now, which is Bad. his sudden interest in a girl with white hair and toxic-green eyes also incurs the attention of half the rogues’ gallery, meaning that most of Gotham’s villains are now keeping an eye out for poor Ellie.
including, of course, a certain E. Nygma. in true Riddler fashion, he sets a trap to catch a runaway girl in need of a hiding spot, and she falls for it hook, line, and sinker.
like most of the Riddler’s traps, Ellie is presented with a puzzle to solve if she wants to escape. Ellie being Ellie, however, she simply phases through the wall to get out (hooray for ghost powers) and then continues on her merry way.
and that’s what truly captures the Riddler’s attention, because for the first time since maybe Batman, someone has actually managed to cheat one of his traps.
And it was a random little girl who did it.

DP x DC Prompt: IT'S LIKE YOU DON'T LISTEN
(Inspired by the song: Don't Listen (Amanda The Adventurer Fan song)
So, we've all see Danny interacting with the Joker in fanfics (I love them so fuckin' much). He's just an absolute menace but I think we're missing on other interactions with the DC villains. (I've explored some of these in my fics but ignore that I just love this idea so much I use it a lot)
Scarecrows whole thing is making people see their biggest fear which as far as we know Danny's biggest fear is hurting those he cared about. Literally he's faced his biggest fear and because his powers prevent him from being affected by drugs he's going to really piss Scarecrow off. No matter what mixture, how dangerous, how deadly he makes it he can't get it to work on Danny and it's driving him crazy.
Killer Croc is a whole threat, but this 5'5" teen who hasn't slept in four days and just poured five-hour energy and monster into his coffee is ready to brawl and can catch his fist with a single hand all while cracking jokes or complaining about how he was hoping to take a nap. It's not just Croc either, Bane is having the same issue with the white haired kid who just showed up out of the blue one day and it's pissing them both off.
Penguin and Cat Woman will steal something just to get home and realize the damn thing is gone! But who the hell could have stolen it from them? AND HOW THE HELL IS IT BACK FROM WHERE THEY STOLE IT FROM?! It's becoming more and more difficult to be a hard working thief these days.
But then there's the Riddler. He sets up puzzle after puzzle, countless traps, countless counter traps. He's planned them out and made sure that there's no way he can lose. At least that's what he thinks until Phantom shows up and suddenly just deactivates all his shit without bothering with his riddles. Then the one time he gets him to actually do a riddle he doesn't seem to care that his life is in danger! Or that other lives are in danger - turns out a duplicate saved the hostages and he was literally just messing with the Riddler who just got a bit too invested in the fact that he finally caught Phantom.
Villains are getting more and more frustrated and they're starting to get desperate.

I think it would be interesting for batman villains to display different responses to extreme trauma. Not just insanity, make them less insane insane as they are just making sense of what happened to them in the most reasonable way they feel works.
Ivy in my world is a politician until she's assaulted and dumped into bog to never be seen again. Reborn as a spirit of nature, not particularly human, and by the way she was gotten rid of; it's made clear that she's unwanted. She gets back at those who wronged her and slander her by eating them alive as a monster that may wear the face of a woman but is no longer human at all.
Riddler doesn't even conceptualise that his way of growing up isn't normal. Watching peers get trapped and killed in training trials isn't normal. Being ordered to regularly kill your friends isn't normal. Which is why he sees it to be acceptable to put other people in his killer escape rooms and sometimes the answer to getting out is to kill the other person trapped with you to get through.
Scarecrow is a guy that is scared of lashing out, under near constant stress of a demon that follows him around as a protector. He's afraid of it lashing out to a percieved threat and getting him into serious trouble. So he hides away absolutely terrified of the world and of the demon that will slaughter anybody who may threaten him.
Two-face is not split personality he's a man trying to reconcile the personality he puts out to the public, good and reliable Harvey and the absolute pain of having half of his face disfigured (cut off and burned) trying to play off the incident as nothing that can keep him down but knowing that getting into office and not complying with those who hurt him will result in him getting the other half agonisingly ripped off, if he makes THEM unhappy.
Joker...I prefer him as a plot device that other people have opinions on than an actual character. I like the idea of joker's son wanting to kill joker, to be ashamed of being related to him. Joker's son looking at batman and asking him what does blood mean when they've killed someone you care about, and saying that there's no amount of redemption or justification in the world that could make him forgive joker for killing his best friend (practically brother) so the guy needs to die.
I want insanity to come as a result of something, to have it be the most functional response to the most horrible incident. It's not one bad day, it's an upbringing that tried to wipe out a person to turn you into a tool, a purposeful attempt to dehumanize you erase you and everything you sought to build, it's a life time of terror and not being capable of asking for help for something that's beyond anyone's understanding, it's alienating the people you thought were your friend's because they don't have anything to offer when you're in the worst position of your life, it's being told to not be angry to be quiet and let it be and trust the adult who's already failed you in the one thing that's ever mattered to you and watching as they continue to to fail you and still ask you to not get mad.
I'd like a batman that asks what's more crazy? To keep pushing people and expecting nothing to ever give or to believe that people who have no basis of understanding of what proper kindness or mercy is to begin with because they've never received it in the acceptable means to know how to be good correctly.

Hey guys, do you remember this post i made about an AU were Thomas is Batman and his sides are Batman villain: https://www.tumblr.com/beetlewine-art/710102337156530176/okay-listen-ive-been-thinking-a-lot-about-a?source=share
Well, i mentioned that i also wanted to make a post about the sides as Spiderman villains, so here is what i have so far:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Those are my takes, i want to clarify that i'm putting Virgil as Spiderman, mostly because i think it fits him too well. Also, i wasn't happy with making him any of the villains, i thought of making him Electro but i decided it didn't match well outside of the electric aesthetic. So far i think they all match pretty well, specialy Remus as Mysterio, i thought of switching Remus with Janus, but i am not sure. I feel like Remus could be an amazing villain if he had Mysterio's powers and the outfit just fits so nicely.
Roman is not in the post because, if i am honest, i have no idea of what villain he could be. I just can't make my mind about him, the only one that i can think about is Mysterio, but I already made Remus Mysterio and i don't want to repeat it. So, i am taking suggestion about wich villain would fit Roman the best, because at this point, my shipper side and my funny side is thinking about Roman being either one of this two:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neither of them fit, but i'm a prinxiety shipper so in my mind it makes sense the Black Cat one. And for Carnage... Well, they both red, to be honest, it would be more about Roman having a Symbiote more than him being Carnage. So if anyone has more suggestions, i'm listening. (Might as well just make him MJ)
Also, about the Batman AU: I think i'm going to change some things, don't worry, Bane!Patton and Scarecrow!Virgil are staying, Remus is also staying the same most likely. I thought of changing him and instead of making him the Joker, i could make him "The Creeper" but aparently Creeper is not actualy a Batman Villain (i need to investigate more about him) and every Batman needs a Joker, so i think Remus is staying as the Joker. Logan and Janus are going to change, Logan is most likely going to replace Janus as Riddler and Janus is either going to be Two-Face or Pinguin, mixed a little with Killer Croc.
I'm, again, not sure about Roman. I want to keep i'm as The Music Meister but i also got some very cool suggestion from @donttellthemangosiwashere about making him Clayface or Babydoll and now i can't unsee it (Calendar Girl is good option too). I'll see what i do with him.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BATMAN AND HIS ROGUES AND THE JOKER #2
Tumblr media
I'm not entirely saying that Batman treats the Riddler horribly all the times, but majority of the time he does. See the difference is that Batman allows him to call him partner, but just announces he doesn't have to like working with him, but he never just says don't call me partner, because the Joker calls Batman partner a lot. Batman even called the Joker his buddy and his friend. Batman is okay with the idea of the Joker being his partner. He doesn't give an answer most of the time, so it can be a mystery. 'Hey you'll never know'
But with the Riddler it's different. Batman doesn't even want to hear partner comes out his mouth. This is just a few examples of that. Batman also seems to snap more easier with the Riddler, however with the Joker not as fast.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Yes, i can get into the reasons why he treats the Riddler differently, but that's not what this is about, you know? It's about how wonderful Batman and the Joker relationship is in the dc world. It's about the patience Batman has with The Joker compared to the other villains. I mean sure we can't ignore the certitude of it all. The fact is that Batman eagerly works with the Joker. He doesn't have to say much at all, and Batman even offers for them to team up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman even goes as far as saying their partnership has ended. Batman acknowledge their partnership. Their relationship.
Tumblr media
Again Batman calls the Joker partner, and The Joker calls him partner. Now let's go back to theses examples. Batman doesn't even consider the idea of them working together. It's Edward who always have to do the asking. He also let the Joker talk with him before getting quickly upset, but with the riddler. Nope!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the way this was one of those issues. Where I can actually ship Batman and the Riddler. Batman confidential #27 #28 was a pretty good read, although there's still differences.
Tumblr media
I'm doing two face next or scarecrow.

I know you said at some point that you had zero idea on how to put your own stamp on the Bat Rouges, and that does sound super difficult I feel like I have a few suggestions for the big 4 (Joker, Riddler, Selina, and Penguin) at least.
Joker - Follow B:TAS, bits of the 1989 film. In addition to actually being funny yet scary (especially B:TAS) those takes on the man were ex-mafiosi. Do what you will with the concept of Joker once being in the mob.
Riddler - He's an actual genius, but he's also an attention seeking narcissist, and the Arkham games the man has a case of megalomania, so maybe have him at some point move some operations to metropolis. Basically make the man an honorary Superman villain. He HAS worked alongside Lex in the silver age and in SOME comics, so like a Riddler-Lex team up could be in the air.
Catwoman/Selina - This is a free box so long as she remains a thief within the grey area of morality.
Penguin - Another free box honestly because Oswald has been redone a LOT, though I recommend going back to some earlier comics and some modern stuff to distill his essence.
While I appreciate the suggestions, I feel like I'm not clear enough with communicating why I struggle doing a reimagining of the bat rogues. So to put it plainly, when I do a re-mix: I need a thesis (a story to tell). I usually form a thesis if I find a narrative opportunity or I'm dissatisfied with how the character is handled in canon. That thesis will then fuel the story and design interpretation of that character.
Lately I've been reimagining Conner Kent/Superboy because I feel in canon after his initial debut in Reign of Supermen, Conner struggles being overshadowed by Jon Kent Superboy or Superman's legacy. DC doesn't know where to place him or what to do with him after his Lex Luthor-Superman-clone origin as a solo. Much of the later additions to Superfam don't feel as politically motivated as Clark would later be interpreted as (with the exception of Kong). So I wanted to create an origin that helps Conner stand on his own, be a uniquely different experience to Clark, and place him somewhere new after his origin is revealed- that adds longevity to his narrative. That's how my Paul Westfield/Conner Luthor version is created, from that thesis.
And that's my approach with all the characters I've done so far too. I wanted to tackle Martian Manhunter's ableist lore, or I wanted to reinforce the immigrant allegory in the Clois dynamic, or revitalize Superman rogues because they're underappreciated (Livewire), or I wanted the evil robot to be more gender (Brainiac). When I get suggestions to just follow what works, that's not creatively fulfilling for me.
Stuff that gets the gears in my brain turning are when I see fans passionately talking about but also being critical of characters they love. Like this Scarecrow video! It opened my eyes to how underutilized and undeveloped a character Scarecrow is (who I previously thought was popular). That's the kind of thing that gets me excited to pitch an interpretation on a character!
And lastly! I really don't want to crossover Batrogues into other hero's worlds where I can. I've done it sometimes sure, but only when there's a story to tell. Rogues are created to tackle a specific superhero's abilities and themes. A superhero crossing over rogues too often (especially with the Bat rogues, I get it they're the best rogues gallery in the business) feels like the creator lacks confidence in that hero's own rogues gallery. I'd rather revitalize a hero's rogues gallery than have My Adventures With Other People's Rogues Gallery. Amirite, MAWS.

I always knew that Gotham War was going to be stupid because Selina's plans of stealing from the rich has flaws and Bruce has his whole Zurr still lingering in his mindscape thing, but like goodness. So after I read the first two issues of the Gotham War event I'm wondering if I'm the only one who noticed this
Tumblr media
Now this might just be me grasping at straws to try and make their ooc moments seem in character but why would Barbra correct herself? We know from Batman/Catwoman Gotham Wars Issue 1 that Bruce said that he turned off his comms, but did that include monitoring? Also, why would Bruce take out his suits monitoring but still keep the tracker in there? For plot relevance yes, it makes sense but this is delulu town and I'm making up excuses.
I feel like some readers are looking at the ooc moments and going well that doesn't make sense, which fair because girl same, but I got to this sentence and was like Oracle babe why did you correct yourself? Why did you feed intel to Jason knowing that he is working with Selina?
UNLESS
They know that they are being monitored. It's been weeks since Bruce got into his coma, right? (I refuse to say he was just sleeping because that's not how sleeping works) So what if something happened during that time that has them acting like this? Because I simply refuse that all of the batfam drank dumb bitch juice for breakfast 8 weeks straight. Again let us be delusional for a bit longer.
They know that whoever is working the bigger game here wants Batman to be alone, to be at his weakest, so they play that part.
Tumblr media
Whoever is watching them now knows that Batman is going off the deep end, he can't be helped because who knows what he'll do next, and they are going to help Selina if she asks. This gives the unknown watcher the thought that he won't have backup when he needs it.
We already know that they're being watched by The Riddler
Tumblr media
But I refuse to believe that they're being like that because of the Riddler, like he's good villain, don't get me wrong but it just seems too easy for it to be him.
Hell they aren't the only ones being watched I mean even the villains are being secretive
Tumblr media
Of course the villains are going to be meeting each other in secret but we are indulging on the idea that even they know something bigger is in Gotham and watching their own every move. Could they be talking about Batman? Maybe. But they also could be talking about an unknown being.
I know this is just a theory that probably isn't true but I can't live through another Civil War 2 type of hero vs hero. I didn't like it when it was Avengers vs X-men, (even though Scott was in the right #Cyclopswasright), or the many times when heroes had to fight against each other to create sales. On a side note wouldn't it be funny if this just tanked? Like I'm not going to buy anymore because to me it's a waste of money.
Anyway, I know that they're doing this to go back to the status quo of Batman and Robin being the only heroes in Gotham and that the Joker (boring) is going to be back and it'll be like the good old days of the crime duo fighting together. I mean who can't wait to read the amazing villain known as Shush (She-Hush)? Joking aside I'm sure it'll be good but dear god that villain name.
Anyways the only good thing about Gotham War was this banger of a line.
Tumblr media
I don't know which one wrote Batman's line, Howard or Zdarsky but it was the greatest thing that I read so far. 10/10 made me laugh and was able to foget how bad the premise to this whole war was.

Batman The man who laughs explores the idea of what would Batman and Joker's relationship look like if it had continued from Batman #1.

Joker #1-15 2021 AND The Joker: Clown Prince of Crime (1975-76) series
The Joker: Clown Prince of Crime Series is a spin-off series with other villains such as Lex Luther, The Riddler, The Creeper, and more.
Joker 2021 #1-15 is a different series following the events of Infinite Frontier #1 involving Jim Gordon getting contracted to kill the Joker. To best understand this series I would suggest reading Batman: The Killing Joke, Joker War, and Black Mirror first.
This link will give you access to both collected editions.
Batman: The Killing Joke
Originally released in 1988, Batman: The Killing Joke was adapted from the 1951 short story The Man Under The Red Hood. This comic was also adapted into an animated movie in 2016.

Batman: A Death In The Family
A Death in the Family begins when Batman relieves Jason Todd of his crime-fighting duties. Jason begins a search for his biological mother but ends up being tortured by The Joker. This leads to his presumed death.

The Three Jokers
The Three Jokers is a 'spiritual' successor to Batman: The killing Joke and Batman: A Death In The Family. Batman, Batgirl, and Red Hood (now Jason Todd) explore a lead on The Joker, who, as the title suggests may have been 3 different men this whole time.

to elaborate:
Bruce terrorizes Superman villains with just angry glares and growls.
Clark has to learn to live in a not invulnerable body.
Clark on his first night as Batman: "Ouch! You stabbed me! It hurts!!!!"
Everyone thinks Batman has gone completely insane and might turn into a new Joker.
The Pentagon is this close from activating their anti-Superman plan because the man looks one inconvenience away from a worldwide dictatorial regime.
Bruce has to learn to hold his strength back because he breaks absolutely EVERYTHING.
obligatory NSFW: they masturbate to see how the other's body works (bc of course Clark has alien genitals).
Bruce starting to have blood pressure issues from having to act meek with all the ppl shitting on him at work.
Clark not putting up AT ALL with Riddler's schemes and riddles and stops him by entirely other means.
Clark getting anxiety from having to be in the spotlight all the time and being chased by ladies.
Tumblr media
@jellyfitzjelly OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. Yes this 100000000000x this!!! (You sent it in two messages so I screenshoted the first for context for everyone and I’m using the second as the answer since I didn’t wanna transcribe it lol)
I am WEAK in the soul for body switching fics and headcannons. To add on more thoughts to your thoughts
The absolute body horror/dysmorphia/dissociation at being in a body but not your body but still having that vouyerustic fascination at being able to explore someone else’s body from your own consciousness.
^^^ I am 100% on my bullshit about those “I have a crush but we haven’t said anything or been close yet and it’s so wrong but this is my opportunity to get as close as possible to them in a way I’ve been dreaming about” tropes.
The uncanny valley at seeing the other’s expressions on their face! Like Batman’s signature scowl on Superman’s normally cheery face. Or Clark’s sunbeam smile on Batman.
An excuse to push them together to work through it! Maybe secret phone calls alllll day to each other. “How do you deal with the Wayne enterprise board?” “I broke another door handle. What now?” Just so many options.
Do they try to hide it? CAN they hide it? If not who figures it out first?!? If they don’t hide it now what? What do they do with their time?
I 100% believe that Bruce would make Clark practice sparring/ hand to hand combat in Bruce’s body. Just let the implications of that sink in. Are those thoughts nice and marinated yet? Because YES.
Do they have the angst and unsureness of “this might be forever?” Or the bittersweet relief of “we only have _ amount of time to experience each other like this.”
And on that note - if it’s established relationship Superbat. O.M.G. The wonderful idea that they get to use this opportunity to get to know each other in ways they never could under any other circumstance.
Like imagine Clark finds out all the little things bruce has been hiding. Maybe Bruce actively suppresses blushing every time Clark runs a finger up his arm. He had no idea. And Bruce finds out that while he knew Clark doesn’t need to eat he actively craves certain things sometimes. They use this to learn more about each other and carry that over into a stronger relationship once they’re switched back.
My obligatory NSFW addition - sleeping together. Is it an act of ego? Sure, maybe. But the body is a shell to house the person they love. That can change and they’ll still love them no matter what. I wanna see some fic that just goes for it. Let Bruce as clark sleep with Clark as Bruce. No cop out ‘this is too weird.’ Na bro it’s interesting and novel and Batman is a detective who loves puzzles, and Clark is an investigative journalist. You bet your ass they’ll sleep with their partner who physically looks like themselves.
Second NSFW addition - in Smallville the heat vision is absolutely first triggered by horny feelings. I just want Bruce to have to experience that and Clark having to bumble through and explain it to Bruce. But then Bruce’s mind immediately goes to “so you have to be turned on to use heat vision!?” And letting flashbacks of all of the times he’s seen Clark use it.
And if you wanna go the public/political/social investigation route - ooooo boy! How does each of them handle that stress? Are any aspects of each other’s life harder than they thought? More pleasurable? Surprising?
Does bruce cry big alligator tears when visiting Martha Kent and she calls him “son” and looks at him with such love? Sources say yes. (Sources are my head)
Okay okay but also if they don’t know each other’s identity when the switch happens?!!?!!! Wouldn’t that be something? Alllllll the identity reveal. And the mad dash to find each other to help hide both secrets from the world. Do they form an initial alliance? Lay it all out?
Alternatively, what if Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent body switched. Neither knows the other’s superhero identity. But the sheer panic from Clark about Bruce using super strength and immediately finding out. And Bruce panicking because Alfred doesn’t know he’s not him. What if he says something in 2 seconds upon arriving home about anything batman related and this investigative journalist will now immediately know who batman is.
I just have a lot of thoughts and feelings about this. Not enough cohesive ones to write something. But A LOT of thoughts and feelings.

The batman: strange minds episode analysis.
Plot summary: SPOILER ALERT
Joker kidnaps detective Yin and locks her in a box that will explode as soon as the time runs out. Batman catches him and brings him back to Arkham where Strange uses a device to enter his mind in search of clues. Batman uses it too, manages to trick Joker into revealing Yin's position and saves her.
EASTER EGGS
Joker fish from Btas.
The gotham statue in his mind is a monument to himself, it reminds me of "the rubber face of comedy" in which he modelled it to look like him.
Joker is usually a strong fighter but he immediately gives up after falling in the small pool. Maybe he has PTSD from his fall into a vat of chemicals, his bad day as he puts it (the moment is even shown in the episode).
"I Pagliacci"is an opera by Leoncavallo and Joker's pizza is called "Lee'n cavalos". Coincidences? The coupon also had a clown on it.
Joker's mind looks like his lair in the episode "the rubber face of comedy"
Chicken!Joker asks Strange why does he cross the road.
Joker stops running away with his loot after seeing Dr. Strange and tries to hurt him. Even when he gets into his mind, Joker makes remarks about how he isn't looking for Yin. It's a red flag for Strange that, after some episodes, is revealed to be a villain. It's highly probable that Strange, since he was so eager to use radical or experimental methods in his therapy, probably did something to earn Joker's hostility (electroshock? Violence?).
Joker's EEG looks like one from an epileptic seizure.
The importance of opera
The theme of opera is always present in the episode. Since the beginning, Joker is shown to be an opera enthusiast and he clearly states that he has always wanted to participate in one. He also tried to steal the costume from "I Pagliacci" and wears it in his mind, where he also sings "vesti la giubba", the most famous part of it. Now, why is he obsessed with this opera, since it's a tragedy and he clearly loves jokes and fun? I have some hypothesis.
"I Pagliacci": plot summary
Canio is a circus leader and discovers that his wife Nedda is betraying him with Silvio, a member of the company, thanks to Tonio, who is jealous of Silvio. Canio is devastated and at the end of the play, he kills Nedda and Silvio.
Now imagine this: Joker is Canio, Yin is Silvio and Batman is Nedda. Joker often flirts with Batman in the series and in the comics so we can suppose  that he has a crush on him or that he simply wants to be the only one in Batman's life. Batman however, has a partner, Yin that, even if she's not romantically involved with him, is a third wheel for Joker. Who is Tonio? Riddler. He knows about Batman and Yin's team up and probably told the other inmates about it. Joker must have felt betrayed by this reveal, so he went after Yin. This is the only episode in which Joker purposely kidnaps a specific, single person for a reason that is not money of twisted fun: this is revenge. If we compare the opera to the plot, Joker discovered Batman's new partner and got jealous, so he planned to kill her (Silvio) to figuratively stab Batman (Nedda) in the heart. After failing, he is seen crying alone in his cell, like Canio did when he discovered the betrayal.
Why did I come up with this idea?
Joker says that he needed a costume and a female character. In that moment the camera zooms on Batman, who is listening outside the asylum. Is he the character he wanted, Nedda?
Joker is usually called freak, monster or clown, he is not treated as a human being and in "Vesti la giubba" Canio says that he is not a man, just a clown, made for people's amusement (Joker's goal). Joker is probably trying to express his inner turmoil caused by his own bad day and by Batman "cheating on him".
The theme of puppetry and theatrics is recurrent : there's a scene in which Joker controls some puppets and then Batman himself.
Joker swallowed Batman whole 😅
Joker cries at the end and this never happens when his usual plans are foiled. He was probably heartbroken.
Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think!

Out of curiosity, thoughts on Scriddler?
i thought, that one day, i’d might be asked this lol.
i’ll be frank, the nature of popularity of that ship kinda confuses me to this day. not in irked sense, i just generally was surprised to see so much stuff for them. like, i don’t remember them interacting in anything, that i’ve watched / read. which tbh, doesn’t say much, since i’m very picky about what i engage with, when it comes to superhero media outlets. so maybe, it did happen somewhere an’ i just didn’t see it. i remember casually browsing a few of accs, who shipped it, curious, if they had some specific comic strip or cut scenes from the game, which depict those two together an’ that’s what lead them to idea of this ship. but i saw nothing of sorts. an’ it’s not a problem, naturally. but for me, an outsider, who ships a completely different thing, it was a bit puzzling. just how it came to be this broad, if there wasn’t any huge kickstarter. or well, not the one, that i’ve glimpsed.
either way, i’ll begin with saying scriddler doesn’t personally work for me. nor does it have smth, that i seek in my otps. with this in mind, i have no intention to belittle anyone with what will follow below. it’s just my own whimsical outlook on it, based on many individual criteria, that might be vastly different for others, who see things in that ship, that i’m incapable of. similar to how i see things in my rare ships, that i know would make many folks quirk a brow as to why ‘that’s even a thing’.
now, about jon an’ edward. a pair that might sound good on paper, depending on what you include in said paper, but for me it’s like putting a hardcore dnd fan into a pit with hardcore bookworm, an’ expect them to get along swell, just bc they’re both outcasts. ignoring how the first one is more show-offish an’ loudly proud of his abilities, an’ the other one is kinda shut-in with occasional god complex lol. one of them tends to throw ugly tantrums, the other one prone to meltdowns. both are sociopaths, who have little understanding of ‘how to human’, unless they need to pretend *for small periods of time*.
in short, i cannot see them having enough patience to handle one another in almost 95% of their interactions. i can’t imagine antisocial, snappy jonathan to be able to tolerate edward’s endless need for praise an’ attention. more so, i struggle to picture jon even knowing how to react in those situations, or being willing to put aside a book, an’ listen to nygma’s newest scheme, if he’s not in the mood for it. or see edward going along with whatever crane has cooked up *some fear plan*, if he already has his own in drafting. it doesn’t help, that they’re also a slightly different ‘breed’ of villains too.
indeed, they’re both operate more on intellectual level vs brute force *not without use of it tho*, but where riddler’s tick is the actual level of intelligence or level of knowledge, the scarecrow is a mindrape kind of villain. nygma likes building traps an’ labyrinths, giving quests an’ a chance to ‘win’, even if it’s all be a faux in the end. jonathan, on other hand, is mix between being sadistic an’ pragmatic. they both want / need a very different things *usually*, when they kick bruce or whoever else around. or in other words, they’re kinda useless to each other’s obsessions an’ it’s hard to imagine them functionally combining their efforts, without smth going wrong or one of them getting pissed off at the other. which was one of few reasons why jonathan got fed up with the joker, when they had their team-up *during the bane era*. crane doesn’t play well with others, an’ he also has a short temper, when someone keeps doing things, that he views as useless or silly. an’ nygma being prideful as he is, most likely won’t just swallow jon’s critic, esp bc he would have some of his own stored as well. neither of them is actually a team player. so here goes their supposed villain team up for me, like even from a technical aspect. they don't strike me as villains, who can have buddy-buddy relationships, even in part bc of their 'big personalities'.
an’ circling back to their obsessions, it’s pretty much a core of their persona. the root of their disease an’ addiction. an’ also a thing, that usually pushes them to engage with anyone in a meaningful way at all *at the very beginning, at least* an' it’s kinda clinical in that regard too. i don’t think that jon would be engaged with riddler’s fear in any intimate fashion, for one. i don’t think, that past abuse or trauma or hardship is enough for him to get obsessed with a person. in fact, i think that he usually simply gets pleasure from making someone feel awful as simple as it sounds. unless, they’re his bully or someone, who has wronged him, he seems to just forget about those, who he hurt along the way. it’s unflattering aspect of the antisocial brain, but that’s just how it is. nygma’s past won’t be able to be memorable for him, partly due to crane’s general lack of ability to relate to others, without it being very heavily connected to his own woes. an’ even then, he tends to misunderstand it. an’ in return, doubt that nygma would understand why jonathan was that affected by bullying, considering that in edward’s eyes, it’s an attention *no matter what kind* an’ attention is good. after all, he did say that people usually literally looked past him, not even jocks were interested in tormenting him, until he became smth ‘worthy’ of their aggression. so from his perspective, he might think that jon being dramatic about it, since crane was on opposite side of the issue, he always attracts attention to himself. a very bad, bad kind, but attention anyhow. meanwhile, nygma *in his own eyes* has to fight tooth an’ nail to get any. an’ it might start as one time fight, but it will be an always looming issue, that eventually would blow into their faces. there is no denial, that it played a huge part of what made them so dependent on their gimmicks in the first place. the way the world around them engaged with them or in nygma’s case, the way, it did not. so yeah,  it’ll be a big ole mess, an’ neither would be able to navigate such a situation.
from what i saw, people tend to depict them as ‘two evil old men in relationships’, an’ it feels like they both more put together in those set ups, than they usually are. or like jon is very receptive toward edward’s attempt to befriend him, an’ nygma actually is pretty good at figuring out what scarecrow might like an’ what not. an’ the problem with it is that i don’t see edward being this thoughtful about anyone. ever. period. in most cases, his disorder just won’t let him be this considering, even if he would have wanted to. like, even if we take newest batman 2022 movie, in there riddler is very-very delusional about the bat, an’ it doesn’t even occur to him, that bruce might have different needs / goals vs what edward imagined him to lol. an’ jonathan is this, but even worse. he openly tends to dehumanise an’ objectify others, seeing them only as tools or props to get what he wants. i don’t think that such person would suddenly act differently around nygma, who on top of everything is also clingy an’ needy. for jonathan, who doesn’t have any experience with companionship at all, an’ who lived most of his life alone, that’s be overwhelming an’ confusing, an’ also annoying. whatever good qualities they have, an’ whatever we love them for, it’s given that both jon an’ nygma be hard to be around in long term, an’ would at times get hella unpleasant too. picturing them trying to mend things in 'normal' ways, or talking about it like normal people is smth that i personally cannot invision at all. or in other words, from my perspective, they’re too mentally ill for each other. in fiction, it's often be a positive thing. like, that two mavericks with huge problems can make it work together, but my personal experiences pretty much prevent me from seeing it this way. unless, one of the two is at least somewhere leveled or tries to be, there is just no way for such relationships to hold on for too long. in jon's an' riddler's case, we talking about an actual extremes on top of all, so it's be even harder for one of them to pull up the other, when they themselves unwell. one might argue, that there is potential for them to make each other worse, then. but they already *objectively* suck on their own as people. the corruption only works if there is smth too corrupt to begin with. some versions of the scarecrow an' riddler are already too far gone, for anything else to make them suck more lol. an' once again, they don't share gimmick, they don't share worldview or have the same goals, so it's hard to picture them infecting the other with their own desease, so to speak.
there is kinda more, that i can say on the topic, but it’s getting hella long already, so i’d skip a few things an’ will go straight to my next point. i suppose, that i already gave an outline of why i cannot see them working together personality wise, so next i’d get to their general aesthetics or visuals. the surface stuff, if you may.
i love their general designs *some more than the others, naturally*. but when i look at them side by side, i’ll be honest, i just see two bottoms lol. an’ while yeah, there is such a thing as switching, i kinda rarely vibe with it. an’ with jon an’ edward, it’s just that. they're purebred bottom cocksuckers in my eyes. them havin’ twink on twink sex isn't very sexy or hot to me. i feel like they both would want or at least have that not-so-secret fantasy about being domed into ground by a 'superior man'. bottoms fighting each other about who should top is more of a comedy set-up in my eyes, than anything else. esp bc they both will be like 'you should top' vs 'i wanna top' lmao. i also will add, that i hc both edward an' jon as kinda shallow in sense of who they find attractive. i picture them pawing after men, who are *technically speaking* out of their league. my personal joke about them is that they're both middle aged virgins with hilariously high standards, who won't beat it just to anyone or anything. they pick misery over everything else lol.
an’ that’s all that i’ve got on the topic of scrridler, pretty much! hopefully, this mini essay did explain my view on the pair. an’ i also hope that it was at least, kind of entertaining to read as an outsider's pov. in the end, if you ship it, i do encourage you to just see this as some rando sharing their opinion an' nothing more.

Thinking back on the idea of RWBY and rogue galleries in general, which comic book rogues do you think would be interesting to see Team RWBY (and JNPR/ORNJ) go against?
Obviously some villains would be flat out ridiculous (Superman's, Hulk's, etc.), but others, like the Spiderman or Batman villains, seem like they have potential...
Both rogue galleries are accustomed to teenage heroics yet are still susceptible to being defeated by them.
Some members are flat out crazy (Joker, Electro, etc.) and will probably get trounced without mercy while others are WAY more sympathetic in spite of their villainy (Curt Connors, Clayface, Mr. Freeze, etc.) adding a "human" twist that RWBY isn't exactly used to.
I mean can you imagine Blake, a faunus, trying to call the Lizard or Clayface monsters despite them not wanting their horrendous appearance?
Or Weiss trying to stop Mr. Freeze plunging beacon into the Ice Age despite the fact that all he wants to do is save his wife who brings warmth to his lonely existence?
What do you think?
When it comes to RWBYs own rogues gallery, it's not hard to find a set point on who fits who best.
For example, starting from the beginning, there's Vale's criminal underworld run by Roman Torchwick. I'd consider this
GANG-LEVEL
Street thugs, ne'er-do-wells, and general human scum who will lie, cheat, and steal, doing whatever it takes to survive. These are villains on the same level as most of Gotham's worst of the worst; Joker, Penguin, Scarecrow, Riddler, ordinary humans with slightly above average physical skills. But, it should be noted that these are also villains who have tricks up their sleeves. Tricks like, well, a trick cane... or Joker Venom.
But after the Fall of Beacon, we reached a new level of threat that gives us a broader perspective. These are the villains who have went beyond the ordinary and into the extraordinary, bringing with them a dangerous arsenal of weapons, skills, and super-powers that make them a threat to even the most skilled fighters. In honor of this, I choose to classify them as
HUNTSMAN-LEVEL
Superhumans, supervillains, and super pains in our backsides, these are the kinds of baddies that definitely make a Death Battle list. Villains like Tyrian Callows, Adam Taurus, Arthur Watts from RWBY get put up against super-criminals like The Scorpion, Shredder, and Doctor Doom. These would be tough fights for RWBY and would require help from the other side to assist. I'm thinking entire stories with them as the big bad guys. There's some kind of superhuman skill they have that makes them more than just a threat, but a super threat.
Speaking of Big Bads, going beyond the scope further are the enemies that are way too much for RWBY and would actually the fun of writing these universe together. Yeah, I'm talking
EXTINCTION-LEVEL
Thanos, Darkseid, Salem; you know them, you fear them, and there's a reason for both. These are the final bosses of their own franchises, and the reason for that is pretty clear. Planets? Dusted. Galaxies? Peanuts. Life? Meaningless. Resistance? Futile. However, my biggest problem with these villains for RWBY is they're too big. Like, these guys just blink, and the worst thing that could happen to our heroes is just the start. So, yeah, don't expect me to write anything serious with these players anytime soon.
---------------------------------------------------
Now, as for sympathetic VS merciless, it kinda depends on the situation they're in.
For example, Basil Karlo, Clayface, was a famous actor who desperately wants to regain his original appearance. Sympathetic. However, I can also see Weiss freezing him without hesitation because he's trying to kill a doctor who can't fix him.
Dr. Kurt Connors would be similar with Blake, as you said, but I feel she would also feel no hesitation in putting him down. She might draw some parallels between him, and another seemingly passionate man driven over the edge into becoming a monster.
Honestly, these are both interesting scenarios, and I'd like to do more with them if I get the chance (COUGH, COUGH, 70 ASKS) but we'll just have to wait and see until then.
Keep up the good work and thanks for the food for thought!

Okay, I really need to know: how do villains react to Talon!Dick? Joker, Penguin, Ivy, Riddler, Killer Croc, you know classic Gotham rogues who know him almost whole his life? And how does Dick react to them? Does he continue to fight crime after transformation and use his wings to hit bad guys during combat? What if some villain is allergic to feathers?
I hadnt thought that far ahead so it's not a solid idea yet but here's a lil brainstorming! Anyone feel free to add to this! Even in tags I'll read them :D I wouldn't mind learning more since my knowledge is quite surface level compared to how much comics and information there is out there. Sorry if this seems like nonsense DHSHDJ I just woke up-
I think a little after Dick's disappearance, they'll catch wind of Nightwing being missing eventually and maybe quite quickly too. Im sure some of the villains would even take the chance to taunt the fam about it and usually it does NOT end well for the villains cause the fam are on the look out for Nighwing. They’re worried, they’re tired, they’re trying, and they do not have time to deal with them trying to get under their skin. They just want him back.
Like you’ll for sure hear the classic, “Your little Blue Bird gone missing?”, “So I’ve heard that our dear Nightwing hasn’t been showing up as of late!” or anything along those. And Im sure the thugs talks about him to.
“Nightwing’s been gone for a long while. You think something happened?”
“Who cares? Less of the bats to worry about.“
“I dunno, man. I’d take Nightwing over Batman or any of the bat brats. One of the kid’s got a damn sword! And don’t even mention the Red Hood...”
“What about me?” (Jason)
“oH SHIT, RED HOOD-“
I think that in this AU Dick would eventually be back out to patrol and fight crime with the batfam again at some point!
IF a villain is allergic to feathers that would be absolutely hilrious actually DJSHGDHD LIKE IMAGINE YOU PLANNED OUT ALL THESE SCHEMES... and then a guy with wings shows up and your allergy acts out DHSHDJ I’d just give up and go home HDGSHD
ALSO ALSO? Slade, Deathstroke, whatever we wanna call him tbh DHSGDH. from what I remember, he is quite fixated on Dick/Nightwing so like, he might be some of the first few to notice Dick hasn’t been showing up. That’s definitely going to make him suspicious and curious on what might have happened to Nightwing.
When the villains see him again tho, Im sure they’re in for a rather big surprise tbh. Like imagine seeing this kid you fought with so often and pretty much watched him grow and change, and then suddenly he lost most of what you remembered about him and now has wings and eyes do some glowy shit and is a bit more stabby than you remembered.
Feel free to add onto this or correct anything!
