the sterek fandom has been racist For those that don’t know, sterek is the name of the ship between Stiles Stilinski and derek hale from the show Teen Wolf, which ran from 2011-2017. A sequel movie was announced last year and is scheduled to release soon (and with the announcement, brought back a dormant fandom). For context, the ship itself is controversial and problematic due to 99% of the scenes (and all of the ship fodder) between the characters taking place when Stiles is 15/16 and derek is 22/23 (shippers will argue that his age in the original draft of the script was listed as 19 (which is still an adult) but it’s irrelevant since his age was changed to 22/23 by the time the character was cast) making Stiles underage while derek is an adult. It’s made even more disturbing when you consider that one of derek’s traumas has to do with being molested by an adult when he was 15/16. There is always a lot of fandom discourse over underage/pedophilic ships but ultimately the problematic nature of the ship itself has little to do with the racism and misogyny of the fandom. To start with, the show itself has very few POC characters in the cast, 2 to be exact. The first is the main character Scott McCall (played by Tyler Posey who is half-Mexican and a MOC) and the other is Danny Mahealani (played by Keahu Kahuanui who is Hawaiian and a MOC). Danny is also the only gay character at the beginning of the series. From the start, Scott was sidelined by the fandom who, as always happens in fandom, ignored him in favor of zeroing in on the two white guys (which happens all the time like for example when FATWS came out early last year, Sam was often sidelined by fans in favor of Bucky, zemo (who is a villain), or even Steve (who wasn’t even in the show) when the show was about Sam’s journey). The sterek fandom would even try to argue that Scott wasn’t the main character of the show and say that they’re all the main character (ignoring that the show is about Scott and his story) or insisting that the show should have centered on the Stiles and derek instead.

The show also got accused of queerbait which isn’t inaccurate but if you watch the show itself, the baiting and subtext was actually between Stiles and Danny. Stiles repeatedly asks Danny if he finds him attractive and is grateful when Danny offers to sleep with him (and then disappointed when Danny reveals he’s joking). There is actual text and subtext between them but for some reason the fandom either ignores it, considers it a joke, or uses Stiles canon interaction to Danny as a form of “proof” that he is or will be attracted to derek

The relationship between Stiles and derek doesn’t have anything that suggest any romantic tension or subtext (and a lot of newer fans that watch the show talked about being confused by what made people ship it in the first place) and actually consists of Stiles being scared of derek and derek being annoyed by stiles. Their relationship slowly progresses to where by the end of the series they are somewhat friends but they each still have a lot more people they care about way more: one of them being Scott, who once again gets pushed aside and has his relationships with both characters diminished and ignored. there was also the added misogyny with characters playing canon love interests getting a lot of hate. in particular, Braeden and her actress Meagan Tandy got a lot of hate, facing both misogyny and racism. fans would at best hide their misogyny behind claims of wanting her to be a “badass independent woman” (as though a woman can’t be that and be in a relationship simultaneously) or at worst use blatant attacks her and her actress (including claiming that Meagan was “obsessed” with Tyler since she shipped Braeden and derek (something tyler said he shipped as well)). To top it all off, sterek fans have relentlessly harassed the actors and fans with their hate being targeted specifically towards Tyler Posey (who has publicly voiced his dislike for the ship) and their hate knows no boundaries with attacks even going as far as bringing up his past addiction issues, his looks, his sexuality (constantly trying to invalidate his sexuality when he came out as sexually fluid but at the same time insisting tyler h and Dylan, whove never suggested they were anything but straight, are secretly in a relationship), or even his mother (who had passed away from cancer a few years ago).

For example this account, that has page after page harassing Tyler over sterek and also page after page supporting Dylan O’Brien. but then being revealed as a conservative who supports trump and was one of the people rioting on January 6th and when someone brought up that Dylan would hate them, they claimed they hate Dylan too but support him constantly because they’re “curious” about his personal life.

Sterek fans either ignore people or are just like them. When teen wolf was called out and faced backlash for not paying Arden Cho (the only WOC in the main cast) the same amount as the other actresses in the movie, stereks either made it entirely about Dylan (who liked one tweet about the situation (the same tweet colton liked) and otherwise said nothing) or made it about her, Dylan, and tyler H “taking down” jeff and Tyler Posey. The irony here being that tyler h was a producer in the movie and had an active behind the scenes role. Making a Arden’s mistreatment and the gross racism she faced all about a white man or being gleeful that it’s a take down against Tyler Posey is latest in a long line of racist bullshit the sterek fandom has put out.

The sterek fandom and ship has in recent years been called out and hated on for the gross nature of the ship but fans should also keep in mind that it is also full of racism and misogyny and has been since the very beginning.

i headcanon steve rogers as bisexual, and mcu!bucky as gay (in terms of comics!bucky barnes, i could see him as more ambiguously MLM or bi). i consider myself a multishipper, with my main ships being stevebucky and samsteve, however i love love love samstevebucky (or stevesambucky ????), and enjoy others such as winterhawk, sambucky, clintasha, carolmaria, petermj, and sammisty too !! typically, i tend to only write for the first three but i enjoy fanfic and fanart for all of them. cartinelli also has a lot of nostalgia (and other more painful emotions) associated with it so there might be some of that on here in my older posts if you go through those tags. also i have three captain america ocs from my works a winter in the sun + a summer in new york: stepan, dani, and (bu)chanan, who appear on here from time to time.

MCU PHASE FOUR PROJECTS FROM SDCC

So its kinda weird how abruptly they announced the end of phase 4 but oh well. Thematically, it fits really well, as phase 4 is about grief and coping with the events of the war against Thanos (Wandavision, MoM, FatWS, Loki, Eternals, Hawkeye,NWH and ThorLT all deal with the aftermath of Endgame)

So ending it on a movie marked by grief not only on screen but in the cast too is fitting

anyway heres the information we have on the few projects left

She Hulk: Attorney at Law

This series will dive into the legal and administrative aspect of having a world filled with superheroes (honestly a nightmare) with she hulk representing superhumans in legal cases

Damage Cotrol (from NWH and Ms.Marvel) will likely be a part of that and we'll probably see why they were so pressed about Kamala getting powers

This series is probaly set closer tho Endgame than we think, given that Bruce is still in his professor Hulk form and not in the human form we see in Shang-Chi.

The amount of super humans coming out of nowhere they mention could be a way to introduce mutants as their mutant genes might have been activated by the cosmic energy surges of the different snaps

We get a look at frog man as well as many folkloric superhumans, and what looks like discussion groups about living with superpowers (again with the idea that many people randomly started getting powers and now have to cope with they ways it will affect their life)

Titania also appears and she seems to be a rival of Jennifer

It is likely that Jennifer will already have mastered her hulk form by the beginning of the series and then we'll see her origin story in a flashback episode.

Also we see her do the Hulk Thanderclap move. So slay of her.

We might get an explanation as to why Bruce goes back to human (him being jealous of Jen might be a reason why)

Dare fricking devil is here in his yellow suit from the comics. We can also hope for a Matt or even foggy Cameo in court (Manifesting it)

Jen is representing Emil Blonski in court after his crimes as abomination. 15 years after it happened. I would say they bring it up out of the blue but honestly the legal system is so tedious thzt it is almost realistic.

The wong cinematic universe continues as Wong appears in the trailer. He will probably work with jen on the legal aspect of some magic threats, as the world will face many events that human laws are not meant to cover.

Honestly it would be fun if this series was about Jen working through the legal aspect of phase 4 events, like the Westview situation, America Chavez popping out of nowhere, a random citizen by the name of Peter Parker just disappearing out of nowhere...)

The demolition team appears (is that the right name???) in the comics their tools get powers from Loki but their origin story will most likely be changed.

Jen breaks the fourth Wall like in the comics. The first time it happens even she seems surprised and it was honestly pretty fun.

It is rumored that this series will set up a World War Hulk project for phase 6, but we can only dream

Also i think i saw Thaddeus Ross in a scene but maybe im just tripping

Werewolf by night

No news about this project sadly but it is still confirmed to happen (right?? right)

Michael Giacchino confirmed he will produce this halloween special.

Gael Garcia Bernand will allegedly play Jack Russel (the werewolf)

Like the groot series, it will probably be considered soft-canon: the events happen within the MCU but will likely never be mentioned again due to this being a special

This character might appear in the upcoming blade movie, but honestly i dont see him having a major place in the MCU

Black Panther: Wakanda forever

Man talk about a trailer done right. It was the definition of no plot just vibes as we have almost no information ol the plot other than the war against atlantis and Tchalla's death

This movie will follow the Wakandan chzracters introduced in previous projects, as they fight agains the atlantideans, and Wakanda struggle to hold its political stance in the wake of Tchalla's death

The wakandans will obviously grieving the death of king Tchalla. We get shots that look like his funeral, as well as Shuri crying and queen Ramonda delivering a heart wrenching speech (give angela basset all the awards NOW)

We also get some shots of wakanda being flooded during the war against the Atlantians, as well as the Dora Milaje fighting in the open waters jumping off the deck of a ship

The conflict between the atlantians and the wakandan might originate from the vibranium mining operations we see in the trailer. It is rumored that Dr.Doom is the one ammassing vibranium, teasing is appearence in following marvel projects

Namor will probably be the second mutant introduced in the MCU and it seems like we are getting his backstory through flashbacks

Ironheart appears, meaning that her upcoming show will probably not be an origin story, she seems to build her suit during the movie out of vibranium most likely

We might get a romance between Ayo and Aneka (lesbian rights???? hello lesbians???)

A person is show in the black panther suit meaning that either killmonger is resurrected or they find a way to syntheticallt recreate the heart-shaped plant. I personnally hope it will either be Shuri or Nakia as bringing a character back from the fead in a movie centered around grief feels out of touch

There is a rumor that Nakia will give birth to Tchalla's son although the birth scene in the trailer seems to be Namor's birth.

The guardians of the Galaxy: Holyday special

According to James Gunn, this will not be a one off special but rather a project connected to the overall MCU. However, it wasnt mentioned during comic con, which might mean that its importance for future guardian projects might be minimal

I'm bored. Time to do my extremely Marvel fatigued takes on every MCU... Thing.

-Iron Man: Holy shit it's a movie! It's actually a movie!

-Captain America: The First Avenger: ROCK SOLID. Shoutout to Agent Carter for being cool enough for her own spinoff series

-Thor: there is nothing remotely Norse looking about any of this

-Iron Man 2: -10 points for Elon Musk, whole thing is freakishly libertarian, but I like Justin Hammer as a villain

-The Avengers: Look, you can hate on Joss Whedon all you like and probably be correct, but this was the gold standard of superhero movies for a good while and with good reason.

-Iron Man 3: Character development??? In MY bloated superhero movie franchise????

Captain America: The Winter Soldier: trying to be deeper than it is when really it's just Steve fighting hydra again

Thor: The Dark World: well, that sure was a movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy: James Gunn's skill with the needle drop rivals Quentin Tarantino. Not just in this film but in all of his actually

Avengers: Age of Ultron: oh god why is the ROBOT quipping please make the robot stop quipping. Oh look Quicksilver's dead.

Ant-Man: this would be really good if it was directed by a director instead of two million overworked VFX artists

Captain America: Civil War: Hey, y'know that actually fairly interesting character conflict we brought up about government regulation of superheroes? What if we pretended it never happened by act 3 and then completely ignored it for the rest of forever?

Was there another movie here or did I make that up?

Doctor Strange: I love it when rich assholes meet poetic justice and the costume design on this film was unmatched. Although I still think it should have been directed by Lana Wachowski with Michelle Yeoh playing the ancient one but that's just me

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: teaching your dipshit male protagonist that toxic masculinity isn't something to strive for and showing him how to be better? FUCK YEAH. Also found family in a shitty spaceship my beloved 💖

Spider-Man: Homecoming: this is the closest the MCU has come to an accurate portrayal of Peter Parker, it's only downhill from here. Wait, why is Ganke here?

Thor Ragnarok: It's all the humour of a Taika Waititi movie with none of the compassion. Man's gone on record to say he only makes Thor movies for the money so if this is the price we pay for Jojo Rabbit, Reservation Dogs, and Our Flag Means Death, I'm okay with that.

Black Panther: hey maybe having your villain and only your villain saying racism is bad isn't such a good idea

Avengers: Infinity War: HE CAST TOO BIG FOR HE GOTDAMN MOVIE. Time to strip all these characters down to their barest bones because we don't have the time to do anything more nuanced!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: My Favorite versions of these characters will always be from the 2010 animated series and these ones just don't compare

Captain Marvel: we made a feminist girl power movie! What's particularly feminist about it? Carol gets catcalled exactly once and that's about it!

Avengers Endgame: is it over? No? Oh no.

👆👆👆 ALL OF THIS!! How can people not be excited for Bucky in Thunderbolts is honestly beyond me. He and Seb are finally getting the attention they deserve in the MCU. I know he was a co-lead in TFATWS, but the show was mostly about Sam becoming Captain America. But now, being the co-lead in Thunderbolts, I think Seb/Bucky will finally have the opportunity to shine! ✨

Anon 2: Is Florence Pugh’s character the leader of the thunderbolts? Based on the poster it looks like it but it could also be for aesthetic reason seeing as she’s the shorted in the group. Wish Zemo was a member but maybe he will show up in this or another movie, I enjoyed his charisma

Anon 3: He couldn't be in Cap 4, they've been announcing a big cast for the movie, and Sam has a new sidekick the new Falcon, Sam's family is going to be in the movie. Cap 4 will try to follow in Black Panther's footsteps (without a talent team behind it lol). Bucky doesn't fit in this movie, he would be overshadow and you all would complain a lot. Also, he can't show his full potential as a Super Soldier, one of the complaints from fans of the comics. Two less movies to watch.

Anon 4: Eric Pearson, the writer for Thunderbolts, also wrote Black Widow, Thor: Ragnarok and the Agent Carter TV series. Bodes well for Thunderbolts having a combination of badass action, humor and sparkling dialogue. 🤞

Anon 5: Seriously…. People complain about wanting more Bucky and that FATWS wasn’t good, now they are complaining about Bucky coming back without even knowing anything about the movie 🙄. Why can’t people just be happy with more Seb content. And the ask about the necklace …. We’ve seen him with necklaces before and there’s zero pics of him wearing one on the trip. It could likely be one he’s had for a while. There’s no point in thinking that deep on anything with no proof. And honestly I’m kinda confused by Annabelle’s response to being asked if she’s dating Sebastian. I know she’s not ever gonna outright answer the question, but her laughter reaction just struck me as odd (and no, I’m not delusional, just pointing out that her response was a bit confusing from my perspective)

Anon 6: As a fan who has not read the comics, it can be hard for me to understand the antihero aspect. What I've seen presented of Bucky in the MCU is that he is a good man who was not corrupted by the serum because there was nothing to corrupt. His actions in releasing Zemo in TFATWS seemed out of character. That said, I'm excited to see whatever it is he does in Thunderbolts. I'm not going to let my confusion ruin my excitement.

Anon 7: BUT Val is a villain, Bucky will partner with a bad woman it's not ok. See, that's not Bucky. Our Bucky died at the end of Avengers Endgame, since then they've mischaracterized him for a version I don't even know what he is now, but it's not Bucky. Well, I hope everything flops, every movie continues to be poorly received.

Anon 8: It seems to me that Thunderbolts is a win for both Seb and Bucky no matter what. Seb will get to show Bucky with an actual personality to the MCU audience. This is a big deal and will help continue to get him the roles he wants. And Bucky in the MCU will get a story, however small or big it is, that isn't him being a foil to make someone else look good. That's a lot more than we've ever gotten.

The good/evil divide isn’t so black and white. Every single one of the characters has had either some kind of redemption at the end of their respective films/shows but they are willing to bend the rules/play in the gray area.

And if that isn’t your thing, oh well!

[10] The king of karaoke

End of November 2022 – Atlanta Sebastian left the room right afterwards, because he was scheduled for a costume check on the other side of the corridor. Thankfully Bucky's current arm wasn't a real prosthetic - it was more like a sleeve (and a glove) made of latex rubber. Most of Bucky's arm was CGI in the final result anyways. But he heard that he got a new leather suit and was really excited to see if that one was comfortable or not. And if it still fits or not, because he just had six exhausting workout weeks with his personal trainer Don.

The room was filled with silence because of his absent - y/n was still standing at the exact spot as she was when Sebastian let her go from the hug. She was overwhelmed. AGAIN.

How can someone have such an effect on her?

She shook her hand and managed to drop on the couch next to her jacket. Her hand covered mostly her whole face while her brain was working in hard-mode.

„I flirted with Sebastian Stan. And I wasn't subtle. Neither was he. And then the hug... but he acted like nothing happened right afterwards before he left the room. Maybe Christina WAS right and he does this to / with a lot of girls", she thought.

She tried to stop thinking about the situation and picked her phone out of the pocket on her jacket. She had two unread messages: one from Christina and one from Susan:

Christina Hope the boys are nice today. Don't be scared, you're doing an amazing job. They're going to love you. And please say hi to Anthony and Sebastian! xoxo

Susan Bar and cocktails? Tonight? I think we should celebrate the official start of our new movie. Michelle already said yes so you kind of don't have a choice. 8:30pm in our favorite bar. See you there!

Y/n smiled because of Susan's message. Celebrating the survival of their first day with the cast was a good reason for some cocktails. Maybe that would help her to forget THE situation that was going on here a few minutes ago.

End of November 2022 – Atlanta

The next days went by really fast as they started shooting the first scenes of the movie. Y/n main work was with Sebastian and Danny because Anthony's hair and beard were easy to handle every morning.

The crew created some huge sets in two halls at a film studio in Atlanta - 20 minutes south of the marvel headquarters. It was nearer to y/n's apartment so she only needed 15 minutes every morning to go there. Half of the movie was shot in Atlanta, another big part would be shot in Cleveland and they would also fly to Europe to shoot some scenes over there.

Originally they had planned to go to Prague (like they did in FATWS) or Budapest (because it is a beautiful city with ancient architecture) but both cities denied their request. Two years of covid were hard for a lot of countries and they wanted to focus on regrowing tourism. Hosting a big team like Marvel would lead to lot of blockages around the city - disturbing tourist to explore freely.

Sebastian suggested that they could go to Bucharest instead and after the team had reached out to the city they agreed on working with Marvel. It probably helped that Sebastian was Romania's most famous actor.

But they were going to stay in Atlanta until end of February what y/n really liked because she was just getting used to live in Atlanta – even enjoyed hanging out with Michelle and Susan. What was a big thing as she was always more of an introvert person.

Today they were shooting a 'meeting scene' in a set that should show a conference room in a military base. The scene included Sam, Bucky, Torres and Sharon discussing about how to stop their new enemy called 'New world order' that was leaded by Red Skull. All characters were going to wear casual clothes so their hair and make-up should be casual as well.

Anthony was the first one in y/n hair and make-up trailer – as usual. She combed his hair and beard, fixed everything with a bit of hairspray and he was good to go. He wanted to talk to Joe and Anthony Russo about the script because he had some changes in mind.

Sebastian was next and a few minutes before his scheduled time, y/n heard a knock on the door of the trailer.

"Come on in!" she shouted towards the door while she was preparing some hair gel next to the make-up stuff that was already laying on the desk.

Sebastian entered the trailer with a Starbucks tray in his hand that included two cups of coffee and two muffins. "I brought some breakfast. I didn't know if you like coffee and how you would probably drink it, so I asked the Starbucks employee for the sweetest ingredients they have for coffee. Because I remember you like to drink your drinks very sweet. He suggested a caramel latte, so I got you one of those and a blueberry muffin. Just because I love muffins and as I tried to be not too selfish, I brought you one as well."

Y/n smiled at him while he reached out the tray for her to grab her coffee and a muffin. "Caramel latte was a good choice Mr. Stan. Normally I prefer a vanilla latte, but caramel is fine as well. You are right: I like sweet drinks."

She took a big bite from her muffin and munched on it with a lot of pleasure. Sebastian laughed and took a sip from his coffee before he dropped down on the chair in front of y/n.

"You can finish that muffin before making my hair. I don't want to have any crumble in my style. I am not the cookie monster!" he said to her while looking in the mirror.

After she had swallowed the big bite she said: "Okay, but then you have to entertain me and tell me some stories about you. Like: What is Sebastian Stan typically doing after he leaves the set in the evening?"

He looked confused in the beginning but as she got another bite from her muffin and looked at him with expectations in her eyes he giggled and started to clear his throat.

„Marvel rented an apartment nearby for me so I usually get back to the apartment and take a shower first. Even if there were no action scenes on that day. I like to freshen up a bit." he took another sip of his coffee - which was black with just a little bit of oat milk in it.

„Right after the shower I usually take care of getting dinner. I mean having food is the best part of every day. But Don - he is my personal trainer and I work with him for more than 10 years now - prepared a meal plan for me so I literally just have to find a restaurant who serve a fitting dish. Makes my life a lot easier, but also very boring."

Y/n saw a little bit of sadness in his eyes as he said that. She knew how hard the actors work to get in shape for their roles but she never thought about how exactly they did it in detail. Eating only what your trainer told you, did sound very boring. She loved walking around the streets to get inspiration what she liked to have for dinner. Sometimes she even ended up in small restaurants with no one speaking English. These were the best experiences she ever had - regarding the fact that she was not able to communicate.

„What does Don think about blueberry muffins?" she giggled.

„Shhh!" he made and put his index finger in front of his lips. „Please, don't tell him!"

Both laughed before he took the biggest possible bite from his muffin. She looked at him in shock and curiosity how he would manage to munch on that amount of muffin. And she wasn't disappointed as he clearly had his problems to eat without choking to death. She clapped him on his right shoulder - showing him support with his challenge. Then she took a sip of her caramel latte.

Half of her muffin was still laying on the desk as she asked: „That's it? That's all you're doing? Taking a shower and having dinner?" He nodded in response.

„Sebastian Stan, you are a very boring person! No parties, no alcohol escapades, no dates or one-night-stands?" she never wanted to speak out loud the last part of the question, but her mouth was not following her commands. Their gazes met and she wasn't sure what he was thinking so she quickly added: „You know that this was just a joke, right? I know that you have a hard job doing all those scenes. I would prefer to have a relaxing evening as well!"

He smiled at her and she could see the relief in his eyes that he must not answer to her stupid question. „I just like to focus on my job and do everything, to be as good as possible!" he answered with a quiet voice.

„And I admire that, I real..." she started but he continued speaking so she quickly shut off.

„I was planning to do some karaoke on Friday with Anthony, Danny and my assistant Ann. Would you like to join us?" he turned around to look into her face directly instead of just looking into the mirror. His steel-blue eyes met her green ones and the world around them seemed to disappear. She could only hear her own heart beating like galloping horses. She was scared that she would lose everything in his blue eyes so she forced herself to blink - taking her back to reality.

„I would love to. Can I bring Michelle and Susan? They are my best friends in Atlanta!" she managed to answer.

„Of course! The more the better!" he winked at her and she gave his shoulder a squeeze in response. He put his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Then he reached it to her and said: „Give me your number. So I can text you where and when we're gonna meet on Friday."

She tipped her number into his phone - her heart still beating fast but not galloping anymore. He realized that she was still looking at his phone while he saved her number under the nickname „Y/N - Massage Queen". They both giggled before she slapped him gentle on his upper arm and stopped observing his phone.

He then texted her, so that she had his number as well. She looked at her phone and saw that he had send her a white heart emoji. „That flirty little bastard!" she thought before she saved his number unter the nickname „Sebastian - the nice guy".

As Sebastian didn't have a scene to shoot on Friday he was staying in his apartment. So he decided to send y/n a text in the morning:

Sebastian Good Morning. Miss me?

Y/n I miss my morning coffee, but I don't miss taming your stubborn romanian bunch of hair.

Sebastian Ouch, that hurt!

Y/n Don't be a baby, Sebastian. Why are you awake anyways? It's 7:00 am?!?!

Sebastian I meditate in the morning. You should try it. Helps me calm down and survive another day with Anthony.

Y/n I prefer to stay in my warm and comfortable bed. Why are you texting me? You know that I need to work and don't want to lose my job.

Sebastian I am sorry for disturbing your very important work. Just wanted to let you know that we meet at 8pm at a karaoke bar near my apartment. I'll send you the google maps location!

Y/n Okay, thank you. See you tonight!

He sent a google maps location right after her response so she clicked on it to look where they were going tonight. It was a regular bar near her own apartment - what confused her. She didn't knew where Sebastian's apartment was, but it seemed to be near hers.

She texted Susan the location and asked her if she wanted to stay at hers tonight so that she shouldn't pay for a taxi. Michelle had a date, so she was not coming with them. Susan was happy that she asked and was looking forward to their night out. It was a 10-15 minutes walk from the bar back to her apartment - perfect to clean their heads. She didn't plan to get drunk, but she was excited for some drinks.

During their lunch break Susan and y/n discussed about what to wear as Anthony joined them at their table. „What are you talking about, girls?" he asked.

„What are we going to wear tonight. Have you already prepared your outfit, Mackie?" Susan asked him.

„It's a friends night out at a bar that is mostly know for karaoke. I'm gonna wear a jeans and a shirt. That's it!" he said. He looked with furrowed brows alternating between both of them.

„Oh come one, Mackie. You're not helping at all. So the dresscode is casual then?" y/n asked him.

„The dresscode is: wear whatever you like to wear. Be comfortable, enjoy the evening. That's my motto!"

Y/n admired him for his straight view on things. He was one of the most honest and transparent people in the industry. And he was also right. So she decided to try not to put so much pressure on herself. It was a friends night out. Wearing casual clothes shouldn't be that hard.

Susan could read her mind - like always - and said: „He is right. We're about to have a good evening with our colleagues. I am just gonna wear a plain shirt and jeans. What about you? Casual, too?" Y/n nodded in agreement.

Right after y/n returned home from work she took a little nap to refuel her energy. It was 5pm when she woke up, finding a text from Susan that she was was going to be there at 7:30 on her phone.

She stood in front of her closet and tried to figure out what to wear tonight. Trying not to put too much pressure on herself definitive looked different! She knew she wanted to wear her black jeans because they were very comfortable - along with her white Nike sneakers. But for the upper part of her body she wasn't sure if she should wear a t-shirt or a blouse. She took a Guns'n'Roses shirt out of the closet and put it on her bed before she placed a white blouse with some little floral embroideries at the upper part right next to the shirt.

Then she grabbed her phone, took a picture of them and send it to Susan with "Which one should I wear tonight?" in addition to the photo.

Afterwards she turned around to head into her kitchen to prepare some dinner. She wanted to have some solid food before drinking alcohol so she cooked herself Mexican wraps that were filled with minced meat, cheese, tomatoes, kidney beans, corn and guacamole. Right before she wanted to take her first bite she heard her phone buzzing inside of her pocket. She took it out and read the message she got:

Sebastian I really like the blouse. It's pretty. Can't wait to see you in it tonight. See you later!

Wait a goddamn minute.

She scrolled through her chat with Sebastian as she realized that she accidently sent the picture of both shirts to Sebastian and not to Susan. Her wrap fell out of her hand onto the plate - spreading the ingredients all over the plate and table. How the hell did that happen. She was 100% sure that she had sent it to Susan, because she was the last one she texted with. But then she remembered that she clicked on the bar again, that Sebastian has sent her because she wanted to check what they offered for food. That's why she decided having dinner at home and not in the bar.

"How could I be so stupid?" she thought while she aggressively picked up the scattered wrap ingredients with her fork.

She finished her dinner – still ashamed about the whole pictures-sent-to-the-wrong-person-thing – and went to her bathroom to take a shower. The warm water helped her to clear her mind and when she started to get dressed around 7pm she was able to laugh about the mistake. Of course she would wear the blouse tonight but she was not going to tell Sebastian, that she originally meant to send the picture to Susan instead of him.

Susan arrived at her apartment with a big duffle bag.

"You know that you are just staying for one night, don't you?" y/n asked her while Susan put the bag on the couch.

"I need all that stuff. Stop judging me!" she hissed back before both of them started to laugh.

Y/n offered Susan to do her make-up before she applied some natural make-up on her own face. Her hair were in a loose ballerina bun – a few strands falling out of it and framed her face naturally. She looked in the mirror one last time before the girls grabbed their phones and purses and headed towards the bar.

Sebastian 7:54pm We are already inside. We were scared that we meet too many fans when we wait outside. 7:54pm Not that I don't like meeting my fans. But tonight should be a friends night. With lots of karaoke and drinks.

Y/n read Sebastian's first text out loud so that Susan knew about it, but she kept the second one a secret – not knowing why. As they head around the corner and arrived at the bar she saw that it was already really crowded in- and outside the bar. She sighed because she was still an introverted person who didn't like to be around that much people frequently.

Susan looked at her from the side and said: "It's gonna be a good night. They are famous actors, they probably have a table outside of the crowd anyways."

She hadn't thought about that but it made sense.

They entered the bar and glanced around to see where their colleagues are. Susan saw Anthony waving at them from the other side of the room, so she nudged y/n with her elbow and pointed at Anthony. They made their way through the crowd at the bar and y/n was happy that their table was indeed far away from the main 'trouble'. As they arrived y/n saw Anthony and Sebastian sitting next to an unknown brown-haired woman.

She hugged Anthony and took a step in Sebastians direction to do the same with him as he waved his hand to welcome them – making clear that he didn't want to hug her. He put one hand on the shoulder of the mysterious woman and said: "Y/n, Susan, this is Ann. She is my assistant and I invited her as well."

"Hi Ann, I'm y/n." she said and smiled at her. It wasn't an honest smile because she was uncomfortable seeing Sebastian's hand on her shoulder. They looked intimate with each other.

Ann was wearing an almost floor-length light red vintage dress with white dots on it. It reminded y/n of the 50s. "Wearing a dress in November is ridiculous" y/n thought but before she could dig even deeper in that rabbit hole, Susan exclaimed: "Where is Danny? I though he wanted to come as well?"

"He has a date. He preferred a hot lady over his guys. He should be ashamed! Where is Michelle by the way?" Anthony asked.

"She has a date as well", y/n said.

"Wait a minute. Don't you think the same?" Anthony laughed.

"There is no way! She would have told us about that, wouldn't she?" Susan said – looking at y/n with a raised eyebrow. Y/n nodded although she wasn't 100% sure, because Michelle indeed never told them where she met the guy she was dating tonight. Nor a name.

"Dating a colleague is never a good idea!", Ann snickered and patted on Sebastian's hand that was still on her shoulder.

He smiled ashamed (y/n knew that he was dating a lot of his co-stars in the past), put his hand off her shoulder and pointed on three drinks on their table.

"I already ordered cocktails for you girls. Two cosmopolitan and a peach-y cocktail for you y/n. That's the sweetest cocktail they have on the menu but I can get you some more sugar if it's not enough." He winked at her. Susan grabbed both cosmopolitans – happy that she could drink Michelle's drink as well.

"Thank you, Sebastian. Very kind!" y/n answered while she took a sip with an orange straw. Her face brightened as the drink was delicious. He seemed to notice that because he was dropping back in his seat – releasing the tension with a deep exhalation. His arm was laying on the back rest of Ann's seat.

They were talking about a few topics while drinking more cocktails when Sebastian suddenly stood up and exclaimed: "You should all have enough alcohol now. Grab your drinks, I reserved a karaoke room for us!"

All of them were whining – but he forced them into a small hallway to their right and into a large karaoke room. At least they had their privacy in there and none of the other bar attendants were forced to hear their terrible singing voices.

Anthony teased Sebastian with choosing a song from Mötley Crüe for him to sing.

"You portrayed Tommy Lee, man. So show us your skills!" he said to him.

Sebastian wasn't able to keep a straight face as this wasn't exactly the song he would have chosen but he forced himself through the whole song and earned applause for his braveness.

A slightly-drunk Susan volunteered to be next and decided to sing "Single Ladies" by Beyoncé:

Sebastian noticed that both Susan and y/n put their hands up in the air, while Susan was literally screaming into the microphone. He turned his head to y/n and still saw the ring on her left hand. Maybe she was just into the song. That didn't mean anything.

Right after Susan was finished, they ordered another round of cocktails and Sebastian asked the others if they wanted to perform a song as well.

Anthony – who played Papa Doc in 8Mile – ironically chose a song from Eminem to show off his rap skills. But as he had maybe a few drinks too much he wasn't able to keep with the pace of Eminem. He earned some big boos from Sebastian and Susan for his performance. So he decided to just sit down and have another cocktail.

Sebastian gave the microphone to y/n and said: "Come on, it's your time to shine!" but y/n immediately shook her head as a wave of anxiety flooded her body. She looked at her shoes and hoped he would just let go and don't force her to sing. Sebastian seemed to notice her changed expression and put his hand on the side of her upper arm to comfort her.

"It's okay. No one will laugh." He said but she still shook her head – her gaze fixing the floor and her shoes.

"What a bout a duet? You and me? Then we disgrace ourselves together!" he suggested and she finally raised her head to look into his blue-eyes. He was smiling and she felt the comfortable vibes that came with looking into them.

"Okay. But I am going to chose the song!", y/n said with a shaky voice. She was sitting on the couch while he was standing in front of her. His hand moved from her upper arm in front of her chest like a demand. She grabbed his hand, stood up and went to the karaoke machine to search for the song she wanted to sing: "Wonderwall" by Oasis.

The song started with a soft guitar melody as y/n tightened the grip on her microphone. The karaoke machine was set on the mode "duet" what meant that they were singing alternatingly.

Sebastian Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you And by now, you should've somehow realised what you gotta do I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

Y/n And backbeat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out I'm sure you've heard it all before, but you never really had a doubt I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now

She didn't need the lyrics because she knew this song by heart. It was one of her favorite songs. But she put her gaze on the monitor in front of her – she didn't want to face Sebastian.

As they were both screaming the lines into their microphones she finally didn't care anymore if her voice was cracky and bad. She just enjoyed singing this song – like she was used to while taking a shower. Sebastian was singing the next part and she looked at him from the corner of her eye.

And before they headed into the next chorus she turned her head to him and saw that he didn't need the lyrics, too. He was facing her and she was finally facing him. Their gazes met and she felt like there was a firework in her stomach. Those steel-blue eyes really let you know where home is. She felt comfortable and safe around him and all her insecurities were buried deep inside of her body.

They didn't notice their colleagues around them sitting on the couches or the waitress that came into the room to bring more cocktails. They focused on each while passionately singing the next part of the song.

Y/n was sure Susan knew that this was more than a karaoke duet for her. And that she had realized the sparkles in both Sebastian and y/n's eyes.

im gonna preface this with saying i wasnt on tumblr as much post civil war so idk the extent how bad things got though i saw some and im aware that's where alot of the drama is from but im kinda confused about the hate towards the stucky fans?

From what i can tell the ship was and hugely popular and still is to a degree though not to the same extent as before. Im sure with a fandom that massive you'd get alot of assholes in it just cuz sheer numbers. But its also so massive it also seems less cohesive and less likely to feel like a community like. Anytime ive been in part or smaller fandoms its felt more community like.

Because so few people make the content you get to like know alot of them by name maybe even reached out to quite a few commented on their posts encouraging them and because it was a smaller fandom they note you individually commenting more maybe reach out to you that kinda thing.

You probably even like similar subtropes and characterization because its a small fandom there will be less variety to that sorta thing. If you dont it will be less fun you might drop the fandom.

So then when one of you is a dick you feel a bit more reponsibilty to talk to them about it. Because you are more tight knit it will reflect more poorly on the fandom when a few of you are dicks that havent been kicked out if they not stopping their dick behavior.

So i will side eye smaller fandoms for not kicking out the dick.

But bigger fandom this isnt the case. They get all this fancontent regardless and those content creators get a shit ton more comments. They less likely to notice individuals commenting and the audience less likely to keep track of them. Sure maybe you reach out to certain individuals you like maybe even get close but it's more individuals. Within the big fandoms theres more variety too kinda sub fandoms like for say very popular ships there are people who prefer x characterization or relationship dynamic and not y so if they do get involved in a community it for the x sub community in the fandom. And they arent really involved in the y sub community within the same fandom they dont really communicate much at all you dont see or straight up avoid the other content.

And stucky is like large enough fandom or i remember being large enough in the past that that it would be kinda meaningless to give them an indentity as a whole. You might as well be salty at all MCU fans

I mean its much more variety than Stucky fans but the same idea its a large and diverse enough group of people that i cant really imagine an identity for them all so the salt towards Stucky fans seems odd. Unless you hate the ship in general and dont like seeing it. In which case its popularity would be irritating because it was less avoidable i get that.

The first sentence is the reason you’re not sure why: you weren’t here during CACW.

You couldn’t block enough people. They genuinely thought that Sharon and Steve kissing was there to stop Marvel from making Steve and Bucky a canon ship — something that must be emphasized was never hinted at by a single cast or crew member, they always called those two “like brothers”, especially their actors and the directors — and that Steve and Bucky were queerbaiting (no, they weren’t). Pre-Endgame, they were coming after Sharon fans all the time, we saw people run off of tumblr because of it, and they teamed up with Steve and Peggy fans up until Endgame. That changed when Steve went back in time to be with Peggy because before, she was assumed to have always been his past. From what I’ve heard, they stopped worrying about Sharon and turned on Steve and Peggy shippers, but we still got a lot of shit from them around 2019.

It didn’t help when it was implied that Sharon would flirt with Sam and/or Bucky in FatWS, because that could still stop Steve and Bucky from getting together (despite that ship having nary a plank of wood to drift on from Marvel), and then they came out of the woodworks again to shit on Sharon. It really is just misogyny disguised as wanting representation ~60% of the time.

And their vocal hate has lead to shitty writing decisions for her character in the MCU during 2021 (FatWS, What If?) that many people didn’t like, whereas bitter shippers were saying it was “proof she’d always been evil”/they “always knew”.

And it wasn’t just towards Sharon and Peggy, they really didn’t care for Sam either, and sometimes even Nat. Tony neither, but the racism towards Sam, like they kept throwing the “like brothers” argument about Steve and Sam, and in polls they’d leave him out a lot, and it was only done with Sam.

Whether or not things changed now, I don’t know. I do know I still have to block users. A vocal minority of a majority is still very vocal.

TL;DR a lot of fingers in their ears screaming “la la la” at the top of their lungs to make it seem as Marvel didn’t tell them “no” a hundred times about their ship and that it was all Sharon’s fault for existing.

no, the older and more important they get, the more they use their stunt double instead of risking injury by doing their own stunts and halting the entire production. And Mackie/Sam Wilson doesn't just do wire work, he has a lot of hand-to-hand combat, martial arts and acrobatics while Bucky usually tends to use weapons instead. I think the two are comparable, especially since Mackie will be the main character and Seb will be part of a large ensemble cast.

Again, you missed the interview with Sebastian where he said they use him as much as they can BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WEAR A MASK (which he said while they were filming FATWS). Mackie DOES wear a mask, so, yes, it's far easier for him to use a stunt double than Sebastian. So, again, no comparison and you've shown you haven't watched ANYTHING Sebastian has said about filming these movies. Also, CANWO also has ensemble cast, which has many upset, since it will take the focus off Mackie.

I haven't even seen Eternals yet but I agree with such a big cast a series would've been a better intro. Sure, GotG also introduced a bunch of characters but it's more comedy driven. As for which series should've been a movie instead, my vote goes to FatWS.

Had it not been for all the corporate in-fighting and subsequent poor decisions, Eternals would have been The Inhunans (that was the original plan before Pearlmutter and Fiege started fighting over the matter)… and though I’m biased, I think Inhumans would have worked better.

The Eternals’ world-bending/world-ending plot felt a bit forced and perfunctory so soon after the events of Endgame.

I bet this is the wish most of his fans has, but we also understand that he needs money // Given that Seb seems to place importance on who he gets to work with as much as the role itself, consider that Seb may choose Marvel projects for more than just the paycheck, e.g. TB has a stacked cast that includes several people Seb has not worked with before, including Julia Louis Dreyfuss, who was in FATWS but didn’t have any scenes with Bucky.

As horrible as these cases were, they were some of Bucky’s favourites. He had lost one of his sisters to traffickers, and this was his way of grieving. Bucky and Sam had gotten a lead on a child trafficking ring; these fuckers would take children from malls, knocking them out with DINOSAUR and putting them on their hips, as if they were their own children.

The White Wolf and Captain America had been given an anonymous tip where they were taking the kids. They had planned to meet with the parents in the evening, but they wanted to stake out the area first. And maybe they’d get lucky and would get to bring the kids home sooner. Their tip had been sketchy, sure, but from what google maps could tell them, it’d be a pretty good spot for a ring.

So, Bucky and Sam packed up their van and drove the 20 or so miles out of Manhattan, stopping to get donuts on the way. They drove through the neighbourhoods until they got to a long and empty road, forest on either side.

“Lots of trees, heavy on shrubbery, close to a body of water, checks all the boxes,” Sam muttered, looking at the map. “Pull over the next place you see, we’ll walk the rest of the way on foot.”

“Yes, Captain,” Bucky said sarcastically.

Sure, he liked taking the piss out of Sam, but really, he did enjoy working with him. Bucky pulled off the narrow road onto the dirt and turned off the engine. They got out and opened the trunk, where a number of weapons lay. Sam put on his wings and suit, grabbing the shield with care. Bucky snorted as Sam adjusted his helmet, grabbing his many knives and putting them in their spots.

“Hey, at least if one of them thunks me on the head I won’t get knocked out,” Sam said.

“I fell from a cliff and didn’t die, I’ll be fine,” Bucky laughed.

Then the humour of the moment faded. They closed the trunk, looked at each other, then made their way into the woods. The trees cast dark shadows on them as they walked. Bucky gripped his knives, and Sam fidgeted with the shield. Eventually, they came to what looked like a military bunker. It had a do not enter sign on it, but they could hear voices coming from inside.

“You ready?” Sam asked, taking a deep breath.

“Damn right I am,” Bucky grinned.

They kicked open the door.

There were seven adults inside, all of them wearing a strange combination of camo pants and polo shirts. When Bucky and Sam burst through the door, they all drew their guns and immediately started firing. Sam flew into the air and rammed right into three of them; one of them cursed in Spanish, another in French. While they were still dazed, he deployed Redwing and chained them to a pole before knocking them out again. A fourth person jumped onto Sam’s back and started slicing at his suit, but didn’t make much progress. Sam exhaled sharply and flew straight up, turning at the last second and smacking the attacker against the ceiling. There was a snap of something, and Sam winced. There were to be no casualties, A bit away, Bucky fought the other three traffickers, kicking, slicing, stabbing and punching. They were good, for sure, but they relied too heavily on their guns. Once Bucky had thrown all their weapons far away, they were no match for the White Wolf. Captain America drew a tranquillising gun from his suit fired three shots in rapid succession, and each of the other attackers went down like a sack of rocks. Bucky nodded at Sam, then sliced their palms open for good measure.

“What was that for?” Sam asked, walking over and tying their hands and feet together.

“Makes it harder for them to get out,” Bucky said.

“Fair enough. Where do you think the kids are?”

Bucky nodded to the only other door, which was heavily padlocked. He pocketed his knives and walked to it, easily ripping apart the blocades. Sam joined him, but didn’t open it.

“Hello?” Sam called softly. “My name is Sam Wilson, I’m-”

“Captain America?” a soft voice answered. “Captain America! See, I told you we’d be saved!”

Sam couldn’t help but grin as he slowly opened the door. It was dark, but he could count nine children, all seemingly between the ages of four and ten. Some of them curled away from the sudden light, others blinked rapidly, but one of them, a little girl with dagger eyes and long braids, looked up eagerly.

“It’s you!” she cried happily. “We’re safe!”

“Darn right you are,” he responded. “This is my friend, Bucky. We’re gonna take you home.”

The little girl smiled, then held out her hands, which were bound in rough rope. Bucky slowly approached her, then got out a knife. She flinched, but he held up his hands quickly.

“I’m going to cut your bonds, then you can cut everyone else’s, okay?” he asked.

She nodded slowly, then watched him carefully as he took his serrated knife and sawed through the rope. Sam went around and did the same for one of the older kids, as well. Once it snapped, she unravelled it and rubbed the red spots on her wrists. Bucky offered her the handle and smiled. She moved to take it, then paused.

“Your wrist,” she said, pointing.

Bucky looked down. There was a spot between his glove and jacket sleeve where the metal of his arm peeked through. He smiled and took off his glove, waving at her. She beamed at him, then untied the ropes around her feet and pulled up her pants. Her leg was prosthetic, too. She took off her prosthetic and waved at him with her knee.

Bucky grinned at her, then she took the knife and turned to help the others. Sam offered a hand to Bucky, and he rolled his eyes but took it and stood up.

“I’m not that old,” he grinned.

“Yeah, but still.” Sam watched the kids as they untied their hands and feet, hugging each other. “That’s why diversity matters. This little girl just saw herself as a superhero, both because of her skin colour and because of her leg.”

“Damn right.”

“Hey! That’s a bad word!” one of the little kids scolded.

Sam and Bucky hefted up the traffickers, not bothering to be too gentle with them, either. They lead the kids through the forest to the van, chatting with them about what they were going to eat for dinner. Bucky noticed that Same became quieter and quieter as they walked, and panted more and more. But he forgot about it as the kids piled into the van and grinned at how they threw the traffickers in the back, piling them on top of each other. Sure, they were unconscious and wouldn’t know it, but still.

Bucky drove them back to Manhattan as Sam handed out the donuts they had gotten on the way there. They had even gotten a gluten free one just in case, and the seven year old boy with a pin reading ‘I’m allergic to gluten’ was delighted to get to have it. Before the exited New Jersey, Sam asked to pull over. Bucky did on the side of the road, and Sam got out and grabbed the first aid kit. The kids started to get nervous, but Bucky said that Sam needed to check the tires to make sure they’d get there in time for dinner, and got out to help him.

“Sam? What’s up?” Bucky asked, walking around the car to where Sam was leaning against it.

“One of them got me,” he whispered. He unzipped the side of his suit to reveal a huge bloody mass on his side. “Oh shit.”

“Dammit,” Bucky cursed, grabbing the first aid kit from him and opening it. “Look, we don’t have time to stitch it-”

“That’s fine, just pad it and let’s get these kids home,” he said.

Bucky took out gauze and clothes, pressing them against the wound. Sam winced, then exhaled. Bucky padded the wound, doing his best to make it look even. Once he decided it was sufficient, he taped it down, then zipped up Sam’s suit.

“We’ll get the kids back, turn in these fuckers, then we’ll get you stitched up,” Bucky said, guiding Sam back to the van.

“No hospitals,” Sam said immediately, stopping short.

“No hospitals. I’ll stitch you up myself.”

“That doesn’t make me feel much better,” Sam mumbled, getting back in the car.

“Is everything okay?” the girl asked. She seemed to be the oldest, almost the leader of the group.

“Yes, now let’s get you home,” Sam said, forcing a smile.

They had planned a meeting with the parents at the police station, and it was almost time.

“I’ll go in and get the police and the parents, this reunion deserves to be outside instead of inside the station,” Sam said.

Bucky nodded and helped some of the kids out, picking them up and putting them on the ground. He fistbumped several of them. They lined up against the side of the van and waited patiently. Finally, after an astonishingly long 20 seconds, about 20 adults burst through the doors, followed by ten police officers.

“That’s why we do this shit,” Bucky said to Sam, smiling as he watched the parents run to their children. Even for him, it was hard not to tear up.

“Damn right,” Sam grinned. “Good work, White Wolf.”

“You, too, Captain.”

“Excuse me?”

They looked over to see the little girl and an older woman who was holding one of the little kids.

“My name is Becca, this is my brother, and this is my grandma. We just wanted to say thank you,” she said, nervously fidgeting with her braids.

“Thank you for returning my babies to me,” the old woman said, wrapping them both in a tight hug.

“Ma’am, it’s what we do. And this is why we do it,” Sam smiled, hugging her back.

“You’re my heroes!” the girl cried happily, hugging their legs. Sam and Bucky smiled at her and gave her another hug before she and her family went on their way. “See Gramma? I told you people like me could be superheros!”

“That you did,” the woman smiled. “That you did.”

Normally, they stayed with the families or victims longer, but Sam was fading, and fast. They gave their goodbyes and your welcomes and stay safes and send them to therapy goddammits and made their exit. Bucky returned the van to the station and got their keys. Sam climbed into the passenger seat and pushed the seat all the way back as Bucky got behind the wheel, pulling the seat forward.

“I don’t know how you drive sitting so far back,” he mumbled.

“Oh shut up and get back to the apartment.”

They drove back to their shared apartment in silence, Bucky trying not to speed. Once they arrived, Sam was struggling to stay awake. They parked and Bucky threw all pretence out the window as he picked up Sam and carried him up the stairs and inside. To hell with their neighbours. Sam struggled a little bit, but once they got inside, he relaxed. Bucky walked to the bathroom and set him on the ledge in the shower.

“I’m gonna take off your suit, okay?” he asked, slowly unzipping it.

Bucky inhaled sharply- the rags were completely soaked through. Sam helped him take off the rest of the suit, leaving him in leggings and a t-shirt. Bucky took off his armour and his t-shirt, pressing it against the wound. Sam inhaled and let out a shuddering breath.

“Shit, that hurts,” he muttered, trying not to move away.

“Okay, I’m gonna turn the water on and wash some of this blood away,” Bucky said, moving slowly.

Bucky turned on the warm water and gently washed away the blood that had started to dry. Normally, both of them would have had very different reactions to Bucky being shirtless and Sam being in his underlayers in the shower, but this was not normally. Sam sighed and leaned back as Bucky took a damp cloth and cleaned the wound.

“It wasn’t deep, but it needs stitches,” he said, putting down the cloth.

“No hospitals!” Sam cried, suddenly panicky.

“No hospitals,” Bucky repeated, putting his hand on his shoulder. “I’ll stitch it here.”

Bucky grabbed the first aid kit from under the sink (one of many stashed around the apartment) and opened it. It was neatly organised, so he had no trouble finding the alcohol wipes.

“This is gonna hurt like a bitch,” he warned.

Sam only nodded, gritting his teeth. Bucky poured some alcohol on a rag and gently dabbed the wound. Sam immediately tensed up, fingers gripping the edge of the ledge. Bucky did not flinch. He kept wiping until he could see the folds of the skin, then put it aside. He got out a surgical needle and thread and gently threaded it.

“I’m going to start stitching it, okay?” Sam nodded, taking a deep breath.

Bucky coaxed the skin together and began to stitch. Sam clenched his jaw and leaned back. Bucky worked slowly, methodically, and confidently. In, pull together, out, tie, cut. In, pull together, out, tie, cut. Over, and over, and over. Sam found himself watching Bucky’s hands, the flesh and metal working confidently. The warm water had chased the cold of his left hand away, and as Sam watched Bucky’s face in tight concentration, he found himself relaxing. Sure, Sam realised, it hurt like hell, but he trusted Bucky. He knew what he was doing, and wouldn’t hurt him.

With a final snip of the scissors, Bucky was done. He picked up the alcohol rag and wiped away some blood. Sam winced as the cloth pulled at the skin, but the worst of it was done.

“I’ll keep an eye on them, and chances are, that’s gonna scar pretty bad, but at least you won’t bleed out now,” Bucky said, cleaning up the supplies. He looked up and Sam was looking at him through bleary eyes. “Just like the old days,” he smiled, handing Sam some painkillers. “You and Steve really are one in the same.”

Sam swallowed the pills and nodded off to sleep, knowing that Bucky would take care of him. And Bucky did, cleaning him up, then picking him up like a baby and putting him on the couch. They wouldn’t talk about it, but there was a mutual agreement of care between them. And the stitches in Sam’s side proved it.
