I was reading some stupid thing about the gender neutral bathrooms and how these guys were like they’re just completely secluded little room installs and you just do your business and then go. I don’t want a social experience from going to the bathroom and you know immediately that it’s a dude who said that as a woman there are so many different reasons why women are basically forced into having a social experience when you go into the bathroom in the first place whether it’s escaping the men and boys bullying you in public or at school (WHO CANT FOLLOW YOU IN) it’s where you go to ask the women around you for female care products(BECAUSE ONE OF THE WOMEN IS BOUND TO HAVE ONE) it’s where a woman can take her child in and feel comfortable leaving them with you or asking you for help. ETC ETC ETC ETC ETC

and that’s another thing why this whole “GIRL Hood(🤢) I feel like a girl” phony baloney experience is just a bunch of Male bullshit because they literally don’t even understand any of the very real experiences of a woman or girl because of the way the world is constructed, they think we literally go in there and like?? hee hee ha ha play with pwetty lipstick. when I wake up to get ready for work, not a lot of things are on television, but today I happen to catch the episode of Black-ish that's about feminism. and that episode got me thinking a bit

they're completely right that there's been and still is a problem with feminism being White centric. feminism isn't "for everyone" because it's not feel-good club; it's for rights, liberation, and equality for females all across the board. but today, social media and big companies have convinced much of the general public to steer away from its original mission statement. big companies slap on a few subpar feminist quotes and have some smiling, conventionally attractive women and sell it as "feminism"

feminism is subpar today, and I truly believe that a lot of people forgot where it came from and what we've received from it, largely because it's commonplace and we all have gotten too comfortable. I thought that with the rolling back of women's reproductive rights it would reawaken women, but their anger was once again redirected and distracted them towards things that weren't the issue

feminism gave or helped give females voting rights, gave us the ability to wear pants, to go to work, to get a divorce, to own our own bank accounts and land property, to have full human rights, to have medical investigations to solve female-only illnesses and diseases, gave us accessible restrooms and washrooms and other places of privacy (which were also intended to protect us from males, because we all know that it's needed). of course, there's so many other things but that list is what's on the top of my head and I'm at work and I can't dwell on this for long

why is it that we haven't had any more women's marches? why do we not have any more things like pussyhats or widespread female liberation art, these things we no longer have which helped unify women of all races, religion, sexuality, and creed? ask yourself that, i challenge you to. we were making such grand progress and then, suddenly, it all evaporated. Why? Ask yourself. Now we're back to demonizing women, such as the victims being accused to be guilty (Megan Thee Stallion, Amber Heard), when everyone still remembers the #MeToo movement. Ask yourself why? What has distracted us?

I truly believe that our first and last global female unification were the women's marches with the pussyhats because there hadn't been a peep about another powerful movement since. and I truly believe that was intended and planned. women and girls everywhere have to unlearn the lies about sugar-coated "feminism" that it's for everyone and that it's a feel-good club. women who were true feminist were hardly liked throughout history, and today I think that's also the problem because everyone wants to be liked and seen as "right."

this is all a string of thought and I don't know where I was going with this because I was also thinking about race bs with it being Black history month and I was listening to a podcast too, but now I think yeah I need to get back to work. but yes, feminism has definitely straged bring being female centered in liberation, safety, and etc and has now focused too much on males' feelings and women being pretty, being partially distracted from the core issues of things that are still being influced by our oppressors (aka males), and has just generally hushed and calmed down. it needs to be fixed, in my opinion

were you raised in a household with firearms or did you learn about them as an adult? if the latter how did you get into it?

Sort of! My grandparents always had them, and I spent every summer on their farm, so I grew up around guns and my uncle and grandfather taught me to shoot by age 11. My own parents never owned any. Then in high school I got too busy, and in college Pulse happened and it took me about 5 years to be able to shoot again after that. So I had to relearn a lot, but that was super easy. There are SO many classes out there, and people who would love to talk firearms with you, and youtube channels and subreddits etc. As soon as I got back into it, though, I remembered how insanely safe and confident I feel with a gun as a woman. It's such a game changer!!

Everyone knows that maIes on average are dangerous predators and women are their prey so anybody telling you to trust them or that "it's not all men" wants you harmed by them. They want you dead, they want you raped, they want you sacrified to the beast to save their skin or their loved ones skin. Only to blame you for it after.

Look at all the precautions the average woman takes in every aspect of their lives to navigate maIe violence. I've seen women go as far as ordering food under a maIe name because the delivery drivers would prey on them otherwise. Even when a woman IS interested in a maIe she'd still take precautions dating him because -she knows- moid on average are dangerous. This is also why women settle in crappy relationships because they KNOW their chances of encountering worse is higher than their chances of encountering better so they stay because it's personally & socially better than being alone for them. "He's emotionally distant but at least he isnt cheating on me", "he's cheating on me but at least he's not raping me", "he keeps bothering me for sex every night but at least he hasn't killed me". Women know. This is why I no longer get into back and forth about moids with women either I aint wasting my fucking time arguing shit we both know is true. I wont be your goddamn sacrificial lamb.

Moids themselves know how dangerous moids are as they "shield" their female relatives/partners from other moids. Many moids are terrified of prisons or gay moids because they fear facing what they make women face.

People wouldn't typically advise women & girls that are close to them to trust maIes, heck teenage girls are often scared off moidlets with parents saying that "boys bring trouble"/"theres only one thing boys want" typa shit. Many parents worry about their daughters because they know the evil that moids are deep down and can only hope it doesn't affect their daughters badly.

So I dont fucking care what's said online, most of these women pandering to moids or moids pulling the "it's not all men!1! We get hurt tuh!1!" bullshit would not individually trust moids. Ladies dont ever feel bad for protecting yourself. Keep generalising & judging ALL xys. You aren't crazy for seeing their evil & having your guard up. Dont explain yourselves to moids, the world already explains. Womens lives > moid feelings. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Excuse me if this is spamming, but what can I do to make myself feel safer in this world? I'm recently reidentified as a lesbian woman after being nonbinary for many years, having realized that I only identified as such because I found the concept of womanhood to be so vulnerable and unsafe. I now understand that such labels don't actually "protect" me, but I can't help feeling scared, still. How may I find joy in something that cinstantly victimizes me?

Hey, I think I missed this but I'm not sure from when. I'm so sorry about that! I know it's not for everyone, but having my concealed carry was SUCH a game changer for me in terms of feeling safe and confident as a female person. If you aren't into that, I strongly encourage self defense classes/martial arts. The ability and knowledge to fight back is much more empowering than anything libfems call empowering!!
