Ivy's top 10 most wanted Life Series Teamups

1. The 4Gs (Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss and Gem)

I've gone over this before. 3Gs is my favourite team period, Gem has great dynamics with all of the members. Seeing them go on a rampage is always fun.

One thing I do want to mention: I think they should be Evil. Scott deciding to be evil and split people up in double life was very fun, Cleo is basically always some level of evil, Gem and Pearl are also fun when they're Evil, so yeah. Let them be Evil, as a treat

2. Team Etho (Joel,Gem, Bdubs)

Joel and Bdubs were fun together as mounders, Gem and Joel were fun for the breath time they were together in Real Life, this team would be very silly while also taking everything deadly seriously, and that's funny to me.

Also I imagine them constantly trying to convince etho to join the team, like full and giving him free stuff. There practically begging as etho strings them along

3. Seablings Expanded (Jim, Lizzie, Gem, Grian)

The fish and the fishers. We saw a Gem/Grian/Jim dynamic in the charity stream and that's basically how I imagine this team working, just the four of them constantly bullying each other. They probably will get nothing done.

4. Team Close-Knit (Jim, Pearl, Skizz, Scar)

People want a Scar - Pearl team up. People want a Jim - Scar team up. I want a Pearl - Skizz team up. This is what you get when you combine that. Complete chaos and complete loyalty to each other. (Mixed in with Pearl desperately trying to keep everyone alive)

5. Secret Soulmates (Grian, Bigb)

Ever since secret life this has been one of my most wanted. Seeing Grian completely befuddled by everything Bigb does would be so much fun, plus secret soulmates reunion. More people for Scar to burn.

6. Real Life Soulmates (Joel, Lizzie)

Let them kill people as a couple <3

7. The Villains (Martyn, Cleo, Ren, Tango)

Hell yeah another Evil team. Martyn and Ren's dynamic is always a highlight. Seeing Tango scheme with everyone would be fun. Seeing Cleo constantly debating whether or not to abandon them would be interesting. And we'll get to see what it would have been like if martyn had bothered to go find cleo in double life

8. The Tryhards (Mumbo, Skizz)

People don't mention this but one.of my all time favourite duos was skizz and Mumbo in last life. The two of them on red trying desperately to be intimidating and failing miserably was great and it would be fun to see them as a duo for a whole season

9. Big Dogs: 2 (Mumbo, Martyn)

Out of all the South landers, Mumbo and Martyn was my favourite dynamic. The loyalty martyn had for Mumbo and basically no one else, Mumbo trying desperately to intimidate people, it was all really fun and I think it should happen again (also return of Aha)

10. Soupgroup (Impulse, Pearl, Gem)

I am a simple girl. Life Soupgroup sound fun. Let them kill people together.

Chapter I

Excerpt:

It was sometime during that fourth week, totalling a month of them being on the island that Audrey woke up later than normal, a warm, familiar hand resting along the back of her head, fingers gliding through her hair and down her neck in a soothing motion. Audrey shifted, keeping her eyes closed in an effort to chase dreamworld, wanting just a little bit longer to rest. “They’re moving around,” JJ’s voice was low and soft against her ear, “but haven’t bothered with us yet.”

Audrey hummed in acknowledgement, enjoying JJ’s fingers as they stroked the back of her neck, “maybe they’ll forget about us.”

JJ snorted, “doubt it—we’re the best spear fishers here.”

Audrey giggled at that, curling herself further into her boyfriend’s arms as she listened to his steady heartbeat—something that she no longer took for granted, the sound a very real reminder that he was alive and with her. “I guess that means John B and Sarah will go to the west coast,” Audrey felt JJ shift, his hand sliding across her shoulders and down her back, “or maybe Cleo and Pope…?”

She felt JJ turn his head, “John B’s already in the water, doubt he’ll go.”

“Where’s Pope?”

“He’s still working on the signal fires,” JJ shifted to rest his arm behind his head, “looks like he’s up the cliff right now.”

“We haven’t seen a plane fly by like…ever,” Audrey snuggled into his neck, pressing her face further into it, wanting to be as close to him as she could while they had the chance, “clearly we’re not on a flight path.”

“Or we are and they’re just too high,” JJ said, “I don’t know where we are, maybe we’ll get lucky with a cruise ship or something.”

Audrey hummed, turning to rest her chin on his sternum, “do you want to get rescued?” It was a sensitive topic, Audrey had discovered. She knew part of JJ wanted them to be safe and secure—that he hated every time a storm blew through and they had to crowd into the opening of the cave to seek shelter. But she also knew he very much did not want to return to Kildare.

“Depends on the day,” JJ finally answered, fingers gliding along her lower back, gently rubbing soft circles onto the stretch of skin he found under the hem of her ratty tank top, “right now? Not particularly.” Audrey kissed his chest, “what about you?”

Bigb - Cerule resident - Has a cloud frog as a familiar - All it does is make his shoulder slightly moist - Runs a cookie shop

Cleo - Naga, Resident of Uaine - Graveyard guardian - Made herself arms of enchanted scraps the dead leave behind - Her human disguise is a gigantic ballroom dress.

False - Royal Knight of Amara - Gilded Eagle Hybrid. Eagle wings and colors but the feathers appear to be shimmering like metal - Kingdom is usually very calm so she spends most of her time hanging out with Stress and fishing - Kicks ass when she has to.

Fwhip - Fisher in Ochre - Gem's business partner and the less violent one of the two - Deals more in accounting than actual fish - Fixes boats on the side

Gem - Fishwife in Ochre - Not actually married. Married to THE GRIND. - Runs a fishing boat and market by the widest bend of the river - Can and will use this trident.

Grian - Geologist in Claret - That's some funny lookin floating rocks - Owns a mansion that's shared with several other people of science - Named one of the rocks Brian. Pronounced like Grian.

Hypno - Beekeeper in Flax - Has a little bee farm that he sells honey and candles out of - Has a little magic and mostly uses it to make his flowers bloom - Honestly just happy to be here :3

Impulse - Service Demon in Flax - Resident fiekind (trickster demon). Does favors for gold or food - Invented the farming plow for a request once - Will absolutely abuse vague requests and play as many tricks as possible

Iskall - Magic Blacksmith of Uaine - Makes magic weapons of all kinds, mostly swords - Has golems to help him with his work, mostly just handling hot metal - Charisma + 20. He will flirt with anything that breathes.

Jevin - Slime Amalgam - Hides in the topmost tower of Azure's castle. - Stole pieces of gargoyles to camouflage and has been collecting feathers for wings - Just a silly little guy, living his best life.

Jimmy - Whistler - Guardian of the Wishing Cave - A great guy until you realize he's evangelizing for a cult - Hasn't touched grass in years

Joe - Magic researcher in Viridian - Puts random mushrooms in his mouth - Purely curious and gets a pass from most forest spirits - Looking into the forces of death to write a funny book

Pearl - Royal Architect/Librarian of Azure - Started as a stable girl who threw a tomato at the design for the royal library. And instead of being arrested, she was hired to redesign it. - In charge of the upside down library - Her dragon is named Bikkie.

Ren - Crown Prince of Claret - Half dog and proud of it. - Twins with Jono who moved away to the neighboring kingdom - Curious to a fault

Sausage - Mauve Resident - Construction worker for the many dungeons and attractions - Works well with wood in the morning - Way too enthusiastic

XB - Resident of Azure - Book collector and moved out of Amara to pursue his love of books - Got a blessing from a water spirit so he doesn't suffocate - Learned flight magic and swims through the air

my name is celeste, i’m 18 and i’m just starting this blog! i’m planning on writing short stories or one shots on characters that i currently like, or by requests.

i won’t be writing smut, mostly because i feel weird writing it… 🌚 but maybe i’ll change my mind in the future..

Patches--2

Cliff comes over once a week in a pitch-black Jeep Cherokee with no windows or roof. One time Sandy saw him driving the thing in the pouring rain to Mark’s house, jump out, run to the trunk, put a massive tarp over the entire car that came from the trunk, and ran into the house with a front door preemptively opened by Mark. When Cliff leaves Mark’s house, Mark stands at the front door and watches the car drive away.

Patches lives in the neighborhood. Patches makes a mess. Patches has a tendency to stare into people’s windows, not making a sound. Patches doesn’t bathe. Patches dives in the street dumpster shared by the entire neighborhood, picked up once a week by Nicholas, the landscape artist who drew the shortest straw and became the volunteer garbage man.

Patches is also a giant, mangy cat. Maybe he was someone’s animal who got left behind. Maybe he showed up on the back of a mail truck or something and decided, “why, yes, this is the neighborhood to terrorize.”

Patches predates Mark’s arrival to the neighborhood and there were initial concerns about what the local population of dogs and their leashed humans would do with this new arrival—what if Lyla or Cody or Pepper or Jennings got loose and ate this cat? Who knew how many parasites that thing had.

But no. There was no chance that one of these collared, heartworm medicated, golden retriever and golden retriever-adjacent local hounds would eat Patches. Once Patches got his claws in Wiley’s golden labradoodle Cleo, it was understood that Patches was someone to protect from, rather than protect. Perfect.

They already had to worry about bears, fisher cats, bobcats that climbed up and down the gargantuan pines with such ease. Now there was a feral housecat that had the kill-drive of a half-starved polar bear.

Patches was probably a tortoiseshell variety, once upon a time. These days he was missing an eye, and a big chunk was taken out of his muzzle that scabbed over in a regal purple that matched the way he sauntered down the dirt road. Everyone was disgusted with Patches, and Patches was disgusted with everyone. Everyone but Mark.

hi cleo!! in your about page you mention ontario gothic literature and i don’t think i’ve ever read anything that falls into that category so i was wondering if you had any recs bc it sounds interesting!! i hope you have a great day!!

hello lucie!! sorry this has been in my askbox 4ever but boy am i sooo glad you asked. i love southern ontario gothic lit it is honestly 80% of what im choosing to focus my degree on. my author recommendations would be alice munro (practically pioneered the genre as is + has won a nobel prize in literature), margaret atwood, and jane urquhart. as for specific recommendations i would say "the pump" by sydney hegel brooman (excellent short story collection, really encapsulates the genre for me!), "wilderness tips" by atwood, and "cat's eye" by atwood (it is dubious if this counts as gothic but i like it enough to include it). i am of the opinion that the genre really shines through short stories rather than long form for a multitude of reasons which would literally be a dissertation so id steer you more in that direction. im about to start a s.o.g. novel called "the fishers of paradise" by rachael preston but alas i have not read it yet so i cannot comment. heres one of a million essays i have written on the genre. this is not even touching upon the influences of tom thompson which number many.
