a/n: this is my first time writing for peter and writing in general in a while so pls bear with me! i’m also on vacation rn so this is not proofread at all and i can’t get the word count because I’m on mobile but it’s a blurb!

You would have been lying if you said you didn’t feel second to Gamora.

When you met Peter Quill on the battleground in your fight against Thanos, his wounds were still fresh. Too fresh. The woman that he had loved had died less than a day before for him, and the presence of another version of her did nothing but prolong the sting.

Though, in the two years since you had met, your relationship had slowly evolved from that of friendship and blossomed into an all consuming love.

It was hard not to lose yourself in it. He was funny, optimistic to a fault, oh-so kind… you could barely hold your head above the water.

Most of the time.

Despite all of that, there remained moments where you reminded yourself of the fact that if matters were different, he’d choose her over you every time. Those thoughts came out of nowhere but when they did- the idea of him holding her the same way he did you, laughing at her jokes the way he did yours- they ate away at you. But, you’d shake them away, close your eyes and find yourself lulling yourself back to sleep in Peter’s arms.

Your feelings, however, were bound to boil over at some point.

You don’t even remember how you found yourself in this fight with Peter, but you were deep into it, shouting at each other as you paced throughout the ship when you said the one sentence that stopped Peter in his tracks.

“I’m sorry I’m not her!”

It was as if the air in the room changed. The tough facade that Peter had been displaying deflated in front of your eyes, your hands balled into fists at your sides and you felt a stinging sensation at the corner of your eyes that hadn’t been there early.

You and Peter had talked about Gamora of course. You had listened to his stories and comforted him during rough nights, but what you had never done was share how you felt as though you were living in her shadow.

He pulled away from you as he furrowed his eyebrows.

“What does that mean?”

It was too late to turn back now.

“It means I’m tired of being your second choice, Peter.” You sighed. “It’s just that… I just love you, Quill. I love you so, so much. But I feel like I’m just this placeholder for her. You spent so long chasing that other version of Gamora when I was here this whole time. And I know its hard, and I know it wasn’t easy, but sometimes I just feel that… that you… that you wish I was her and I just want you to love me, Peter.”

You felt yourself let out a breath you hadn’t even realized that you were holding in and watched as Peter’s face softened.

He hesitantly moved from where he stood and took a step closer to you. When you didn’t step away, Peter stretched his hands out to meet you and laid his palms against your arms.

“How long have you felt this way?”

You avoided his eyes.

“Always.”

It’s like you could see the pang in chest.

You watched him swallow and squeeze his eyes shut.

“Y/n, I will tell you this as many times as you need to hear it,” Peter gripped your arms and met your eyes. “I love you. I love you so fucking much it eats me alive, I swear. And I did love Gamora. I can’t lie about that and I won’t. But that’s in the past, babe. I love you. You’re it for me.”

“Peter,”

“No. Shh.” He cut you off. “Let me give you the most epic, romantic love confession of all time, okay?”

You nodded your head and laughed, wiping away the tears that were threatening to spill at the corners of your eyes.

“Okay.”

His hands left your arms as he tugged at his hair and waved them around animatedly.

“Okay good because I love you.” He said. “And not to brag but it’s definitely more than you love me. I let it slide when you call Rocket the captain. I take the blame for you when I know you ate the last of Drax’s Zarg Nuts. I pretend like I don’t hear you telling Mantis every detail of our s-”

“Pete-”

“And I do that because I love you, definitely not because it boosts my ego at all.” Peter stepped back towards you and placed his hands in yours, squeezing them tightly. “And I’m so glad that you have such sick powers that are way cooler than anything I can do because that means that… that uh… wow I didn’t think I’d get so tripped up on this.”

The confidence that he had moments ago faltered.

“We both know it means that I’ll die first and thank god honestly because I can’t imagine living without you.”

A silence hung in the air as you both stood in shock. Him, at having admitted it. And you, having learned it for the first time.

“So, yeah.” Peter finished. “I love you. A lot.”

Your right hand slipped out of Peter’s and instead cupped his face in the palm of your hand. Your thumb rubbed against his scruff as your finger tips brushed his hair ever so slightly.

“I can’t imagine living without you either.” You said. “I love you so much. I’m sorry, Pete.”

You wrapped your arms around his neck while his slid around your waist, both of you gripping the other as if your life depended on it.

“Not to be cheesy, but you’re the one for me, okay?” He said. “The only one.”

You smiled, holding him to you tighter.

“You’re the one for me too, Peter.” You sighed. “I love you.”

The two of you stood like that, at peace in the other’s arms for a good while, soaking in the overwhelming love that you both felt. Until-

“You ate my Zarg Nuts?” Drax asked.

“Oh my go-”

“Jesus Christ, man!”

You lay on your back in the sprawling green field, watching the pink clouds go by. This planet was calm, serene, its people kind and quiet, not making much noise or causing any trouble. The Guardians were staying here for a few nights, stocking up on supplies and enjoying the serene summer festival of rejuvenation. You, however, took this time to look back, to reminisce. You always wondered why she was the one that had to die, why the universe made such a dark law for the acquiring of the soul stone. Part of you understood the sacrifice aspect but you still let yourself grieve that Gamora was that one taken.

You held her knife in your hand, a gift she had given you on your anniversary. Balancing it, you hummed a song Peter had taught you, a song that you always caught Gamora singing when she thought no one was looking. The vibrations grounded your mind, a smile growing on your face as memories played in your head like a film. She would've loved this planet, it's people, it's culture, it's subdued vibrancy.

It was time to say goodbye, you told yourself as you moved from a laying position to a kneeling position. Using your hands, you dug a hole into the soft soil, burying the knife into the ground, a makeshift grave for a woman who couldn't be buried. Still humming, you felt a hand on your shoulder and when you looked behind you, you saw your family, the Guardians, standing behind you. Supporting you.

"It should've been me and her forever," you whispered into the wind, "She was more than a short time, she was bigger than the whole sky. She was my everything."

A stray tear feel down your face as you stood, leaning into Peter as he gave you a side hug.

"Goodbye, Gamora."

About me and what I write,

Hello, my name is Turtle and I’m a caregiver (sometimes?)

Writing is what I do, so might as well write caregiver blurbs for fandoms that don’t have any of the characters that I find cool and interesting-

(Good or bad I don’t really care..)

But Turtle, how do you write?

Simple! Here’s some guidelines to what I will write and what I might need help on,

Whenever I write little stories, I usually write for kiddos 4-10

If by request, a younger age (3 years to months), you would need to help me along and describe exactly what you’d want,

I don’t necessarily like to write about diapers and accidents.. it makes me feel a little funny.

This is a sfw coping blog, if you don’t like it go, and if you’re sexualizing this leave. Littles aren’t just a kink you can use. Please leave them be.

Hello, lovelies! it's been a minute since my requests have been opened up again, and since classes are finished up for me, I thought this could be fun again. However, I wanted to make things a little easier on myself while adding a fun twist. I know similar things have been done, so know that this definitely isn't an entirely original idea.

I found an Inktober list for 2020 that was meant to be one illustration a week and wanted to use it for blurb/drubble/mini Oneshot requests.

Gamora shot you a reassuring smile as she walked with you towards the ship that housed her friends...no, scratch that. Her family. You and Gamora had met when the Guardians stopped by Earth to go over some business with Nick Fury. Gamora took a wrong turn when looking for the bathroom and found herself accidentally walking into your bedroom. The two of you locked eyes and it was as if Gamora’s world had stopped. She never envisioned herself falling in love. Peter had mentioned some “unspoken thing” between the two of them, but she knew what love felt like, and she felt none of it for him. But you? You were different.

You shot her a warm smile and introduced yourself.

“Hi, I’m Y/N. You must be Gamora, I’ve heard so much about you! You’re such a badass!” You had excitedly exclaimed.

That voice had to have been her new favorite sound in the entire galaxy.

And then you giggled when she told you she had been looking for the bathroom, and she decided your laugh was even better.

After months of contacting each other via an intergalactic device that Tony had given each of the Guardians to stay in contact with the Avengers as they travelled the galaxy, Gamora knew you were the one. And when she told you that on a call one night, she was ecstatic to hear that you felt the exact same way.

It was hard, though. Long distance within earth is one thing, but when two beings in love are on entirely different planets? It got lonely. The two of you wanted nothing more than to be in each other’s arms, since you hadn’t been able to see each other since you had first met, 9 months ago.

So now, here you were, finally with your girlfriend. Gamora had insisted that the Guardians make a stop on earth, as she had someone to introduce them to. Although, she almost didn’t want to. It wasn’t that she didn’t want her family to meet you, not at all. It was more selfish than that. She had finally gotten you in her arms, and now she would have to share you? Not her cup of tea.

But she was willing to do it for you, since you had requested it.

The door of the ship opened to reveal the cast of characters you had heard so much about.

The only human of the crew, Peter, you assumed, approached you with furrowed brows.

“Gamora, who’s this? You brought us all the way back to Earth to meet a friend?”

A raccoon then pushed Peter to the side. Rocket.

“Calm down, Star Munch, let the woman talk.”

A few more beings gathered around you, and you identified them as Groot, Drax, and Mantis.

Gamora glared at the two, more specifically at Peter, before speaking.

“She’s not a friend. She’s my girlfriend. Everyone, meet Y/N, she’s an Avenger here on earth.”

Everyone’s eyes widened.

“Is there something wrong?” You said anxiously.

“I am Groot.”

Rocket nodded. “Yeah, Groot says he never thought miss scary green lady over here would fall in love, and I can’t help but agree.”

“Or if she did, we all thought it would be with me,” Peter said, half-cocky, half-jealous.

The ship went silent. Gamora wrapped an arm around your waist defensively.

Just as Gamora was about to yell at Peter, a loud belly laugh from none other than Drax broke the silence.

“Speak for yourself, Quill!” he said. “I personally think this earthling is much more her style.”

You smiled at him, feeling your anxiety slowly trickle away.

Mantis then approached. “May I touch you?”

“Uh...sure?”

She placed a hand on your head, closing her eyes. She then pulled away, smiling. “She feels romantic love.”

You blushed, and Gamora smiled at you, pulling you into her side. “I feel it too,” she whispered for your ears only. Your smile widened.

The group of you sat around and chatted for a few hours before Gamora pulled you aside.

“Okay, now you’ve met them, sharing time is up. Now can I have you all to myself?” Gamora said impatiently.

You laughed at her antics before pulling her into a soft kiss. “Of course, love. Let’s go.”

As the two of you walked off towards your room in the Avengers Compound, hand in hand, you couldn’t help but be grateful that Gamora’s family (save for Peter) had accepted you with open arms, paws, and branches.

Your eyelids were way to heavy to keep them apart and you were close to giving up your attempt of staying awake and waiting for Gamora to come home. She had left for a mission for two days now and as much as you knew how professional your girlfriend was, you couldn’t help but worry about her- even though you were the one bundled up in bed at home with mild injuries from the latest mission. Of course you had got impulsive again and didn’t listen to Natasha when she told you to stay behind. Now you were lying in bed with a hole in your torso, which was yet to heal.

It was probably your injury and all the painkillers you had taken that was knocking you out constantly- you were mostly asleep or way too sleepy to do anything that had nothing to do with food or Netflix. Yes, it was a comfortable lifestyle and at first you were enjoying yourself despite the constant pain, however, you had gotten bored really soon.

You didn’t even realize you were asleep until you were woken up by the front door shutting close and Gamora’s light steps approaching your bedroom. Your eyes lit up as you saw your girlfriend and you were immediately snapped out of dreamland- you would’ve even jumped out of bed and run up to Gamora if it wasn’t for the hole in your body.

“Gamora!” You cried out in joy, making her shake her head and even crack a laugh. 

“Ahw, you just ruined what could’ve been a perfect Sleeping Beauty scene,” she said, acting bitter and making you giggle.

“I can close my eyes and pretend I’m asleep. I can even snort,” you offered, smirking at your girlfriend. Gamora simply rolled her eyes.

“Move over, you lazy bean,” she instructed, getting in bed next to you and cuddling you for the rest of the day.

 You nodded and walked off to Groot’s room to retreive Groot for dinner. When you reached his room, you knocked lightly on his door.

‘’Hey Groot, dinner’s ready.’’

There was no response. You sighed and tried again. ‘’Yo Groot it’s dinner time. Come out if you want some.’’

 Groot still didn’t respond. You rolled your eyes and pressed the button which slid open the door into his room.

‘’Dude, don’t make me–Oh my,’’ you paused as you noticed what Groot has on his head. ‘’hey! Those are Peter’s headphones!’’ you barked. Groot jumped and scrambled the headphones off of his head and spun around. ‘’He’s been looking for those everywhere.’’

‘’I am groot.’’ groot said, hugging the headphones against his chest protectively. ‘’I am groot.’’

‘’No! You can’t keep them,’’ you scolded, walking through his vines and leaves toward him. ‘’Peter’s going to tear this entire ship apart if he doesn’t get those back.’’

 When you reached Groot, you clutched onto it, but Groot kept his grip on it. You pulled it toward you. Groot tugged it back to him. You two began to tug back and forth.

‘’Groot! Give it to me so I can give them back to Peter!’’ you demanded. Groot didn’t listen kept resisting. ‘’Groot! Stop being such a stubborn son of a bi–’’

 It felt as if the entire world has frozen at that very moment. You were holding a piece of Peter’s headphone and the other piece was inside Groot’s hand.

‘’I am groot!’’ groot accused angrily. ‘’I am groot! I am groot! I AM GROOT!’’

‘’My fault?!’’ you shouted. “If it wasn’t for you being so damn stubborn than we wouldn’t even have gotten into this mess in the first place!”

‘’I am groot!’’ he mimicked rudely. ‘’I am GROOT!’’

‘’Oh, ha ha,’’ you laughed sarcastically. ‘’that’s classic coming from you. I can’t be–’’

A sudden came to the door, causing you and Groot to jump in surprise. ‘’Are you two coming out for dinner or what?’’ the voice of Peter spoke through the door. ‘’Your soup is getting cold.’’

‘’Shit.’’ you muttered to yourself. ‘’Give me that,’’ you hissed at groot, snatching the other part of headphone out of his hands. Groot pouted. ‘’here’s what’s going to happen, there will be no talking at from the both of us at dinner, okay?’’

‘’I know how to get them fixed, don’t worry,’’ you reassured. ‘’but remember the plan, okay? Nothing.’’

 You twisted around as you heard the door slide open. You hastily tuck the broken headphone pieces into your gun holder in your belt and throw your hand over it to cover it up all the way. Peter entered with his arms folded and his eyes narrowed at both of you in suspicion. You nervously smiled at him.

‘’Why are you looking at me like that?’’ peter asked. “You two seem up to something.’’

‘’I am groot!’’ groot chimed in. ‘’I am groot? I am groot!’’ he laughed. ‘’I am groot.’’

‘’Yeah! Soup sounds great Groot!’’ you exclaimed, nodding in agreement. ‘’Let’s go.’’

 You kept your hand over the gun holder as you rushed past Peter and out to the hallway with Groot. You bolted to the area that you all ate dinner and sat down at your normal spot. Your leg was rapidly going up and down and Rocket instantly noticed.

‘’Hey kid, what’s up with your leg?’’ rocket asked, pointing at it. ‘’It looks like it’s having a seizure.’’

‘’Oh um, I uh–’’

‘’I am groot.’’

The entire team gasped. “You didn’t,’’ drax whispered, his hands over his mouth. ‘’Peter has been looking for them all–’’

‘’Shhhh!’’ you shushed loudly. ‘’I can get it fixed!’’ you added anxiously. ‘’I-I just need time, but please please please don’t tell Peter.’’

‘’Don’t tell Peter what?’’

 The entire team all looked over at Peter who had just barely entered. Peter first looked at Gamora. Her and Drax looked at each other and than went back to serving up the soup. Peter’s eyes than traveled down to Rocket. Rocket immediately went to licking his paw.

“Okay, what the hell you guys?’’ peter exclaimed, clearly irritated. ‘’First I see that (Y/N) and Groot are acting weird, and now you all are acting weird. What’s going on?’’

‘’Who’s hungry?’’ gamora called out, raising a bowl of steaming soup in the air. ‘’I know that I sure am.’’

 Everybody rushed over to Gamora who was handing out bowls of soup, all but Peter, who kept his eyes on specifically you. You were acting the most nervous out of everybody, which was good because Peter knew that you were the weakest when it came to keeping secrets. Peter knew that he could break you, and he had just the plan to do it.

 You sat down in your usual spot and took a bite out of your soup. The body of Peter Quill soon placed himself beside you. Sweat began to create on your forehead and you felt as if your heart were about explode right out of your chest.

‘’Heyyyy there (Y/N),’’ he breathed out lengthily. ‘’so would you like to explain to me what’s going on?’’

 You just ignored him and continued to eat your soup. Peter chuckled and crossed his arms.

‘’Hellllloooo?’’ he asked, waving his hand in front of your face. ‘’Earth to (Y/N)?’’ he called out, now snapping his fingers. He rolled his eyes. “Are you going to talk to me?”

“Hey uh, Drax, wanna be a buddy and pass me some pepper over here?’’

‘’What?!’’ peter uttered in surprise. ‘’First off, who in the hell puts pepper in their soup?’’ peter pointed out. ‘’And second off, why won’t you guys just tell me what’s going on! You’re making me itch with curiosity.’’ peter whined. ‘’What is it? Are you throwing me a surprise party? What is it?’’

 A moment of silence washed over the team. They all stared at Peter, contemplating on what to say. They all exchanged looks, gathered their final thoughts, and then went back to eating their soup.

‘’I can’t believe it,’’ peter exhaled in disappointment. ‘’my own team isn’t going to tell me what’s going on,’’ peter said, rolling his eyes. ‘’I am sure feeling the love you guys! Feeling it real good.’’
