Hii! How do I get into making gifs? Any tips for a beginner? I literally know nothing about it just that the I'd like to start. Also is not having photoshop a big obstacle?

is there a way to add like a circular inner shadow on gifs on photoshop? I'm trying to make a set that I think would look good with the edges faded towards the center but I think I might need something like after effects to do it bc I have not. figured it out. so far.
