Guys, check out this kickstarter for Koboa, a South American inspired high fantasy setting for DnD 5e, PF2 and CFR! Its trilingual (English, Spanish and Portuguese versions) and made by writers, artists and game-designers from several different countries in South America, including native indigenous creators! The art is incredibly beautiful, and the setting seems fun to play in. Please support them, there's 13 days to go!

Actually the concept of Nightbringer is so funny?
It's a fish out of water situation like with S1 (and many other otome games) except MC won't be the fish
They're the one who's going to know the most about the Devildom's history and culture and customs (even thousands of years in the past) while the brothers have just been dropped on their asses fresh outta the Celestial Realm where, at this point in time, demons are thought of as purely evil beings who can't even conceive the idea of peace
The brothers should, rightfully, be the ones floundering because their bodies, self, magic, entire world, world view and concept of just about anything has being flipped on its head while MC who was scarily adaptable to new situations in S1 itself has been living in & out of the Devildom for years now.
The brothers are going to be given new high positions within the Devildom while still holding disdain for demons and MC's gonna be their "demon attendant" who they'll obviously see as a lower class of demon from themselves - giving them two reasons to disregard MC - except MC would be scarily competent and just seeming to quietly know everything while also being weirdly mysterious.... do you see what I'm getting at? MC's gonna be giving off a S1 Barbatos-esque vibe to the brothers😭😭😭 (though obviously less stoic)
Mammon's gonna say or do something and MC's gonna say "oooh I know that look" and Mammon's gonna be like "????We literally just met???"
Or Belphie's gonna talk about how terrible humans are and how he wants to kill them all and MC's gonna be like "haha yeah wow they're the worst huh" while trying to pretend they're not a human who was more than willing to kill another human for daring to point a gun at Belphie
Or the brothers are gonna be settling down in their new home and MC's gonna be like "lol remember to put aside some money for Beel" and Lucifer's gonna be like "wha-" and Beel's already eaten half the sofa
Or MC's gonna forget and mention a new anime that was supposed to come out and Levi's gonna be like "what's anime?" and MC's gonna have to sit there in silence for a while to process
MC's gonna instantly know how to make Lucifer's shitty black-darker-than-his-actual-soul coffee and that might be the reason why present Lucifer likes his coffee like that
MC's gonna know the brothers more than they even know themselves and that's driving me insane
Also pretending to be a "demon attendant" as if Barbatos who can see through timelines & alternate universes and Diavolo who can tell when people are lying won't instantly know. And MC who knows them so well is going to know that they know. Just constantly "haha yes I'm the sins' demon attendant that you definitely appointed haha👁👁" and "haha yes you're the sins' demon attendant whom we definitely appointed haha👁👁"
Also what's Solomon's angle here?? Because he doesn't start seeing demons as friends until after he meets MC in the future. At this point they're beings he can trick & use to achieve his goals (one of which is getting closer to Lucifer & making a pact). So he's definitely not helping MC out of the goodness of his heart and this is probably another way to achieve that goal (specially if he finds out MC's already made pacts with all 7 sins).
Anyway, sounds like fun times for everyone! Oh and also trauma for the brothers ig

why does my tav look suspiciously like d from vampire hunter d? um... well i um well i. you see. it's called being incredibly picky and sensitive about character creation and not being able to make a tav in game that is a comfortable representation of yourself, and d's out there being peak gender goals and already looking like me so you just use him as your own self-insert and whoops now you ship them haha. i've commandeered d for my own nefarious purposes and no one can stop me.
also yes i chose to make d a little shorter than astarion. i can't actually find a canonical height for him in the books, he's just described as looking like a young man, so for my own headcannon (and because i'm not very tall) he's like 5'8.
i have thoughts about them under the cut
no but d's closed off emotionally but does experience emotions. and he's used to no one being accepting of half-vampires. astarion mistakes him for an elf at first, only realising he's not when he tries to bite him. getting worried and then calming down once he learns d isn't a full vampire. astarion continuing to flirt with him catches him off guard, he's not unused to people finding him beautiful but he isn't used to people being this interested, especially after learning he's a dhapmir. the feeling of not being accepted amongst vampires nor humans/elves is something they share. being on board with killing cazador, perhaps was already on a mission to kill him anyway. d is incredibly touch-starved. sometimes he doesn't want to be touched, needs quiet time, tries to show astarion it's okay to not want to be touched.
he turns down astarions suggestions of bedding him for the longest time as it is not something he indulges in… but perhaps… just this once… the few times people have tried to seduce him they've been vampires, so this, this is different, he feels as though he can trust astarion with this, with himself, and if the worst comes he knows he's stronger than astarion and can fend him off. but the more time passes, the more of himself he lets astarion see, the more they let each other see of themselves, d starts to share slivers of his past, he wants astarion to know he understands, and it… it's nice to have someone who doesn't judge him, not for what he is, but also not for what he's done. and the falling happens. and he's terrified. but so is astarion. and astarion is right that this… this feels nice. and he doesn't want to be selfish and let himself be with someone, have it interfere with his drive but he wants. and he fears that astarion will fear him, he has to confess what happens if he were to feed on a person, he urges that take hold of him, the vampire that rages inside of him. but astarion thinks, and says d can't let this full vampire that lurks control him.
and when they find cazador he convinces astarion not to ascend, that someone has to break the hold these vampires have, someone has to end the cycle of abuse and power. he could have killed cazador himself, but this is astarion's moment, and he's almost testing him, seeing if astarion is different from every vampire he's met. different from almost every vampire he's met. he thinks of meier, of his ability to find and feel love. and astarion resists, and he cries, and he kills cazador. and if he's willing, when he's more recovered, once the worms are out of their minds, they'll both become braver, both become able to voice things that they feel. and perhaps astarion will say he's proven himself a worthy ally, has he not? perhaps, since it's hard for d to give up hunting, well… perhaps they could hunt together.

Being Fix it felix and sergeant Calhoun child
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Best parents ever.
Both overprotective but at the same time trustful
Felix wants to keep you save all the time, meanwhile Calhoun wants you to know how to defend yourself.
They both support you at anymoment, at any goal you have and they'll always tell you to make your dream come true.
While you're a baby (2 years old), Felix would fix every part of the house to make sure it's baby safe (no pointy corner on tables,covering up any outlet on the walls, and having mini fence on some parts of the house)
Calhoun thinks he's being a little dramatic but she loves her hubby so she won't say anything.
Whenever they both need to go do their games, they'll left you on the house in the care of a nicelander(one that doesn't need to go outside while felix is "working").
They both love the drawings that you made for them and they'll always put them on the fridge or anywhere else on the house. (Calhound has some on her locker on hero's duty)
They take turns to put you back to sleep whenever you woke up in the middle of the night crying.
Calhoun's crew comes to visit once a month, they're the best uncle's ever.
Talking about uncles, of course you spend time with your uncle Ralph, he's the most funniest uncle ever.
Playtime with cousin vanellope, she wants to take you on ride on her candy car but of course Ralph says that you're still too young to do that.
Ralph will tell you the story about how your parents met (basically what happened in wreck it Ralph )
If you want to learn how to fix thing and be kind like your dad then he's more than happy to help
But if you want to be like your mom, shooting cybugs and being tuff then she'll help you (being careful of course) whatever you choose they'll support you.
You loved spending time with your cousin vanellope, she'll show you how to create and drive your own car 🚗 !
You basically befriend every game in the arcade thanks to your parents.
Qbert and his friends often play hide and seek with you.
Felix tells you stories while acting them before bed
They'll let you sleep with them if you have nightmares.
One you reach 9 years old, Calhoun is teaching you how to fight and defend yourself.
The nicelanders love,adore and worship you. You're básica a Felix Jr Jr (cause your dad is already felix Jr)
You love pie
Felix has a photo album of the family.
They'll start letting you round around the whole lobby, once you're much older.
But while you're still a baby, Felix will always hold your hand whenever you both get out of his game or Calhoun will carry you.
In the end they're the best parents of all 10/10

Why you should watch RWBY legally
Before I even begin, I want to clarify that it's not my intent to start a fight, guilt-trip, nor force anyone to do anything they don't wanna do. I am merely here to state the facts, as far as I know, and share with you all the reasonings that brought me to my decision. The goal here is to give you all the pieces of information for you to make yours as well.
That said, let's begin.
RT has been awful, employees deserve better, you're angry on their behalf, and I get that because I am too. But I still want and will support the RWBY through Crunchyroll, and here's why:
Pirating is going to hurt CRWBY much more than it will hurt RT. That's the simple truth, in this cases it's always the bottom line that gets the worst of it, so if your goal is to help the employees pirating this isn't the way to go.
Strictly tied to the first one, if a boycott was needed and useful, then they would have told us so. We're not there, we don't know specifically how this stuff works, so deciding to go on a mass protest in their behalf withouth their consent would probably just backfire and put them in even worse conditions. If they'll ever ask that out of us, I will, but for now that's not the case.
All CRWBY, former or not, has been nothing but excited to share their work with us. They want the show to succeed, to keep going and grow, and they're working so hard to achieve that; it just doesn't feel fair to deny them because of someone else's bad actions.
Crunchyroll is the best half-way if you want to support the show without supporting directly RT. Even if I don’t know how the deal works, I’m pretty sure that considering CR doesn’t care about anything else RT might have to offer, any money sent to them would be specifically for the show to continue (and possibly improve)
CRWBY litterally asked us to support them. We can see that on Geoff Yetter's post,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
on A.G. Nonsuch's tweet that Kerry liked (and that even if he didn't I would still trust, because since she did work with RT and met CRWBY, I'm pretty sure she knows better than us)
Tumblr media
and Arryn's (animator) explicit answer when someone litterally asked how to support RWBY withouth supporting RT (also, if you check their twitter page you'll find multiple likes and retweets or posts sharing the same sentiment)
Tumblr media
Again, this isn't to force anyone to do anything they don't want to. I just want you to have all the information, think about what you goal is and act accordingly. Sadly, we can either support CRWBY or hurt RT, with Crunchyroll being the closest thing to get both.
Now, I know that a lot of people might want to support but can’t afford Crunchyroll (or simply don't see it worth it because they don’t watch any other anime). That’s completely fair and understandable but, if you want, I might have a couple of solutions to offer:
Share the account with someone else. It will cut costs, and for just a couple of months it should be bearable.
See if you know someone who already has one and is willing to let you temporarely use it.
Wait until all episodes are released and then make an account; CR offers a 14 days free trial for their premium subscription, and you could use it to binge the volume and still give it views (you don’t have to abstain yourself from watching the episodes as they air, you just need to give CR these views in the end, and if you don’t want to rewatch you could just let them autoplay).
In case someone is wondering, CRUNCHYROLL DOESN’T COUNT THE VIEWS BASED ON THE ACCOUNTS ALONE.
What I mean is that they count rewatches as views of their own, so if you share an account with multiple people and you’re all watching the show, all the views from each of them will be counted, and it will still support it (if you’re wondering how I know, I maild their Support and asked them directly).
That’s all about Crunchyroll. Technically, no one stops you from waiting a year and watch it on RT's platform; they'll be accessible with FIRST accounts only at first, then become free with ads later as usual. I doubt any of you would want to do that, but a lot of people seemed not to get that it won't stay behind a paywall forever so I thought it was worth sharing. I did say I wanted you to have all of the information after all.
And that’d be all, I guess. As I mentioned, this isn’t meant to guilt trip anyone: everyone is entitled to their feelings and what they feel is right. You do you. But as for me, I’d rather accidentally benefit some assholes in the process of helping someone who deserve it than having innocents get hurt because of the actions of some assholes higher ups.
RWBY is a unique show that deserves to live, and CRWBY (and I mean all the people, past and new) has been working so hard, for so long, to get to tell their story and make their dream come true. I don't want all of their work and struggle to be in vain as much as I don't want to lose my favorite show. So, I will listen to them and help them the way they ask me to. That's my goal.
Find what your goal is, and act accordingly.

16/DEC/20XX
𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘬.
i hit the floor like a sack of bricks.
this time, of my own volition.
i pushed myself upright, choosing to ignore where my head had apparently been this whole time.
rolled onto my side (landing on the floor) to stop my phone's ringtone from waking tori.
i quietly stepped into her bathroom to muffle the sound,
" 'sup?"
"Are you..."
before i realized i'd enabled my camera in my barely-awake stupor.
"...At Toriel's?"
a "shit." stumbled out of my mouth as i slapped my hand over the camera. i let my hand drop a second after, as this was now pointless.
alphys snorted at my reaction.
"Sooooooo?"
with the intonation of someone trying to elicit more information.
"you first. you called me."
"My reason was 𝘸𝘢𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘺𝘺 more boring than whatever's going on here."
"So you're spending the night?"
"Tell me about that."
"tell me why you called, first."
"I was just gonna ask if the device was working properly."
"seems to be."
i tried not to linger on the memory of what was happening seconds prior to it going off yesterday.
"Anyway. What are you two up to?"
"Having fun with your 'sleepover'?"
"don't put air quotes on it. sleeping's been most of the activity."
she raised an eyebrow.
"nothing else to it."
"So did this just happen or did you plan a sleepover?"
"kinda just went from magic demonstration to this."
"you already heard about how undyne's went, right?"
"pretty tiring."
"ended up conking out here instead."
"And you just decided to stay?"
"yep. she's got a real comfortable couch, y'know."
"I'm sure that's the only reason. Mhm."
"sofa's just that nice."
"say, how'd you immediately know i wasn't just in my room or something?"
"I know you sleep in boxers. Currently, you're fully clothed, so I knew you weren't home."
"You're most certainly not 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦."
"fair point."
"anyway. i'm gonna go back to this couch sleepover."
"seeya, nerd."
"Tell me more about it later!!"
"nope."
——
quietly returning to the living room, i checked to see if she was still asleep.
tori was hugging the pillow i'd not ended up using for more than a few hours last night.
i tiptoed to the kitchen with one goal in mind:
eggs.
eggs are something that even a shabby cook like me can (hopefully) do.
ideally, they'll be omelettes.
really, they're probably ending up scrambled.
——
didn't hear her get close, finally noticing she was awake when she put her hands on my shoulders.
her face met mine when i looked up.
"Good morning, Sans."
"mornin'."
"you like cheese in your omelettes?"
"I do."
she looked at the pan.
"...That is an omelette?"
"sorry."
"𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦-in' you down with my cooking skills, here."
"I do not mind. Omelette or no, it will be 𝘦𝘨𝘨𝘴-tra special coming from you."
"do you have tortillas? could make 'em into wraps instead."
"Oh! We should, somewhere."
"I have bacon bits we can throw in as well!"
"bacon bits?"
"now we're talkin'."
"you're really a lady after my own heart."
out of the corner of my eye, it looked like a surprised expression flickered across her face, but immediately disappeared.
"Thank you for making breakfast. This is very sweet of you."
"consider it payback for yesterday's."
'sweet' isn't something i usually get called.
can't say i hated it at all.
——
instead of being able to focus on what we're watching, my mind is concentrated on tori.
she's running her fingers along my joints, taking everything in; such that you'd think she'd never felt another hand before.
a part of me wants to pull my hand back, say it's too much for me.
but the stronger part of me doesn't want it to end at all.
something that's so distracting for me isn't seeming to pull her attention away to the same extent.
she's normal about this.
i should be too.
——
"Is something on your mind?"
"kinda think i should get a shower too, but i don't have any spare clothes with me."
"You could ask if Papyrus will bring some."
"nah, don't wanna make him come all the way over here again just for that."
"guess i can just wear the same clothes."
"Would lending you something of mine work instead?"
"shirts are probably the only thing of yours that'll fit me."
"I could wash your current clothes along with my laundry."
"i'd have to hang out in your bathroom 'till it's done."
"Would you be comfortable if I were to give you a large shirt to wear in the meantime?"
"just shirt?"
"A very large one."
"don't know how i feel about bare-bones-in' it down there."
"I do not think you'll fit into any of 𝘮𝘺 underwear..."
she gave a playful smirk.
"You're open to try."
"should i put on a bra, too?"
ended up just going with the shirt.
lame, i know.
——
"It fits a bit like a dress, does it not?"
the shirt stopped just barely at the top of my knees.
"shortest one you've put me in so far."
"I could go get a real dress."
"nnnope."
"i'm good."
"You would look good."
"sorry, but we'll have to play fashion doll some other time."
"i've got a couch to go sit my bare ass on."
she cackled.
"Out of anyone, I suppose I would much prefer it be a skeleton doing that."
"really though, i'm gonna go put a towel on under this."
"Alright. The wash is started, so it shouldn't be too long."
——
sitting next to each other is suddenly very precarious, as i am apparently the king of overreacting.
i accidentally bumped my leg against hers, and flinched like i had been shocked from it.
i need pants.
——
thirty minutes left on the wash.
getting a shower here made me realize that i'm somehow staying another night already, without even a second thought.
"......."
"i should go home, right?"
"No!"
"...It is late, already."
"You may as well spend the rest of the night."
"Please, do stay with me."
"...ok."
——
is it odd to say i sleep better here than my own bed?

"You're a rotten driver," I protested. "Either you ought to be more careful or you oughtn't to drive at all."
"I am careful."
"No, you're not."
"Well other people are," she said lightly.
"What's that got to do with it?"
"They'll keep out of my way," she insisted. "It takes two to make an accident."
"Suppose you met somebody just as careless as yourself."
"I hope I never will," she answered "I hate careless people. That's why I like you."
This conversation takes place somewhere near the middle of the book and the start of Nick and Jordan's relationship. Noting the events of the book, we already know that most everyone in it is quite literally a reckless driver. That being said, Jordan and Nick aren't being entirely literal while having that conversation.
Jordan knows she's a reckless person. She lies, cheats, and is all around dishonest to get what she wants in a system that favors men. She doesn't acknowledge this as a problem as long as she's gaming it right, with the right people (who won't see through her). She gets what she wants, she wins. But she's reckless.
Gatsby has one goal in mind: Daisy will love him. He has an unhealthy obsession with the idea of wealth, prosperity and success that he's attached to Daisy., and thinks of nothing else. He seems generous (and is generous) but not for the sake of others, he's being generous for the sake of his name getting around to his lover, and in the long run he turns out to be only thinking of himself the whole time. Even sacrificing himself for Daisy, only to make her love him the most. One track minds are too preoccupied to be anything but reckless.
Tom clearly doesn't value anyone who surrounds him. Incredibly sexist, racist and unaware of basic human rights or any kind of marital loyalty. I can honestly say that he has almost no redeeming qualities. Thoughtlessly stepping on people in his attempt to be the most intimidating man at the top of every food chain., his way is law to the point of borderline narcissism. Aggressive drivers are reckless.
Daisy is the victim of this circumstance if it's anybody. She had everything handed to her on a silver platter, but she was raised in a way to think she's only worth the equivalent of the men she's surrounded herself with, that she's nothing but a pretty fool, so that is what she'll be. She has to focus only on herself to stay afloat. But fools are reckless too.
And finally Nick, for all his claims to be careful and honest. He manages to get himself involved in and and every kind of shady activity going on without once interjecting that maybe this should not be happening. His idea of himself is being a great judge of character and always truthful, is caught up in the fact that he doesn't do anything to affect the people around him to do better, he just watches them crash and burn around him being naive enough to think it had nothing to do with him. Reckless.
Anyways, all of this to say, The Great Gatsby is a study on the idea of the American dream. But it's also just a book about a bunch of self absorbed people. People too busy to trying to figure out how to manipulate their surroundings, to get what they want out of them, to notice anybody else. Everyone is driving around on their own paths, headlights off, not paying attention to the road, until they collide.
As the book is closing up, after reckless driving has killed more than just one person, Jordan and Nick have one last conversation.
"Oh and do you remember-" she added "-a conversation we had once about driving a car."
"Why,- not exactly."
"You said a bad driver was only safe until she met another bad driver? Well, I met another bad driver, didn't I?"

☽ Late Night Musings - The Halls of Mandos ☾
My personal take on Mandos is that it's a place of limbo, not heaven, hell or any sort of afterlife really.
For Men (including all mortals), that's already a given due to the fact that they don't permanently stay in Mandos and move on to an unknown place outside the circles of Arda. For Elves, it's the case because they weren't meant to die in the first place and the goal is to get them reembodied eventually; the same applies to Ainur. For Dwarves, it's their belief that Aulë gathers them in a different part of Mandos and they'll eventually aid him in rebuilding the world and receive a place among the Children of Ilúvatar.
(For Orcs as well as any other creatures who possess fëar, it can be assumed that they would also be called to Mandos and be met with a fate either like Elves or Dwarves, though we don't know any details. I have headcanons about the fate of Orcs in particular, but that's a story for another time.)
While Mandos is very much a place that physically exists and can be visited - even entered, though I would guess that Námo probably doesn't allow the living to come and go as they please - I think that it's also a spiritual place similar to/possibly located in the same plane of existence as the Unseen Realm and the Olórë Mallë in Lost Tales, and that the experience of those who come to Mandos in spirit after death is rather abstract and varies from soul to soul.
The purpose is not just to be judged if you have done great evil throughout your life, but more importantly self-reflection and healing, and each soul goes on their own individual journey.
For those who were good people in life, accept their mistakes and are ready to make peace with themselves and others, Mandos is a cozy, comfortable place where you may in time find loved ones, have a chat with Námo, Nienna, Vairë and their Maiar, admire the tapestries and rest. For those who committed great evil and are refusing to let go of their anger and spite, however, Mandos appears like a labyrinth or prison that they can't escape from. The key to their way out is not only Námo's judgement, but also - and this will influence his decision - the state of their being and the amount of healing they need, as well as any others they might have wronged.
It may be that this entire journey is like a dream, from which you will in time awaken to find yourself face to face with Námo for one final time - for he, his family and his servants may have visited you already a few times to offer guidance, wisdom and perhaps one or the other harsh truth - and hear his judgement.
For Men, he has no power to hold them and will always send them beyond the circles of the world. For Elves, he will offer them to return to life in Valinor, safe for the ones whose crimes and/or lack of repentance warrant a longer stay; the procedure for slain Maiar, provided they heeded his call, may be similar. For Dwarves, he will let them take their place among their ancestors and relinquish them to Aulë. Orcs may or may not share the fate of Elves.

SORRY FOR THE LONG WAIT. Really didn't mean to keep you waiting for this long. I hope you enjoy this fic.
Yandere!Darcy x reader(ROMANTIC HEADCANONS)
Yandere type: Possessive, obsessive, sadistic, manipulative and clingy. (The last one is a quirk they got from Marcy after 'taking over'.)
• It depends how you met them, unless you also haven't? There are many ways they could've known about you. • Scenario A: Maybe they knew about you after going through Marcy's memories. Perhaps you were her crush? Or maybe you two were already dating? Well, if that were the case you would've gotten kidnapped when they were invading earth. And if you were in amphibia you would've also gotten kidnapped. The only difference is that you would get less of a shock.
• Scenario B: Another way they could also have known about you is if you were helping Andrias with their plans. In that case you'd have to help with the core a lot or at least be near the core when they were shortly soon turning into 'Darcy' as they like to call themselves. In that case you would get a lot of attention from them while you're fixing or helping with work. Some very oddly personal compliments from them and just general clinginess.
Because of the multiple scenarios and how different they can all go down. I will list these headcanons in two stages. Scenario A and scenario B. (I originally had more but that would be too much for me to write.)
SCENARIO A: (Takes place when earth is being invaded)
• You're technically they're first 'love'. Sure, the core has multiple beings who have had romantic interests but most of the time they'd shake it off, not thinking much through it. You on the other hand was different. Unlike many others they couldn't just shake you off, you had a much stronger effect on them. Not because you had a special 'personality'. Just simply because they couldn't get rid of you. Sure, now that they think about it, you might've just had a stronger toll on them because of them possessing Marcy's body. Making the romantic feelings more evident and not controllable. They hated not being able to control their feelings. They've never had this kind of problem before. Even when their minds were all focused on one end goal you just had to pop up out of nowhere. You were essentially an annoyance at best and they simply just wanted to get rid of you. But they somehow failed at even bringing themselves to kill you. Instead they started to feed into their obsession. Constantly going through Marcy's memories, taking in any detail and any type of information that has with you to do. Replaying your smile over and over again. Their obsession only grows more as they learn more about you. Eventually they need you. And if that would mean having some errors here and there, then so be it.
• Since it's their first time dealing with feelings like this. They won't really know how to act or how it even works. You're charming and annoying, that's it. Well besides from that you've become a basic need if they wanna be able to continue with world domination. Considering the fact that they don't know how to deal with these types of emotions, they would essentially just immediately kidnap you. Thinking it would be over just then and there. Not even letting you get a refresher on the situation Darcy would force themselves upon you immediately (not sexually obviously, more or less forcing affection on you so basically nonconsenal touches) after you had been kidnapped. Practically stating you two are dating and will comply with them. They won't be slow with you at all, just forcing you into it without anything to at least get your head wrapped around it. Although you did not notice Andrias' worried gaze.
• Well that is to say if you're really confused and don't understand a single thing at all. They'll be a lot more slower with you if that were the case. Ordering Andrias to show you the ropes while they accompany you.
• Since their emotions and feelings for you are mostly based off of Marcy's memories of you and not actually knowing you. Darcy will get really confused or frustrated at you when you wouldn't comply or quote 'not doing what you're supposed to'. Not only that but there will be a lot of forced affection as well as nonconsenal touches. Whenever you thrash out of their touch or push them away they get annoyed but also.. hurt? An emotion they don't recognize very well. And if they can feel hurt just simply from rejection, who knows what else they can feel. It terrifies them that they can feel pain just from three words from you. But if they feel hurt when you reject them, that just has to be love! It just has to be, after all what is love if it doesn't have a few errors and setbacks?
• If you keep resisting Darcy will eventually seek Marcy out for help. Threatening Marcy that something terrible would happen to you if she doesn't help them. Most of the time, it works. Which would result in Darcy being a lot more open and patient with you or otherwise kind? Cracking up jokes and being more humorous with you, more Marcy-like. Although most of their jokes are more dark then light.
• However, that facade will eventually crack when you keep acting distant towards them. Instead talking with Andrias more and trying to find ways to escape. They practically snap right there already dragging out their scythe, pinning you towards a wall while spilling various threats. And if you somehow got them real mad, they wouldn't be afraid to kill your entire family and to make it worse, force you to watch the entire thing.
• Darcy loves being near you, fuck even knowing you simply exist is enough for them to feel a sense of calm. But when you keep ignoring them or just scoff and scowl when you're near them makes it emotionally draining for them. It's frustrating and tiring, it hurts being neglected. Neglect them for too long and they'll go in a fit of rage, destroying anything in sight, sending out robots to kill people you're close to. They'll insult you with weirdly personal insult with pure malice in their voice. They will make you feel like shit whether you like it or not. Andrias of course will eventually hear Darcy's screaming and will escort you elsewhere.
• As time goes on you will surprisingly get a close bond with Andrias or close enough that he'll open up to you. Of course you won't get to be with him for that long until Darcy comes storming in and immediately puts Andrias on duty while they tell him they'll have to do something very important, with you of course. Whenever this happens he always worriedly glances at you before he runs off. So moments with him aren't long but still treasured.
• Activities with them are weird and it's not like you get to choose either. They'll always force you into it. Most of the activities are essentially them showing off all of their gear and many other things. They offer their stuff to you free of charge, even talking on and on about how lucky you are to even be able to be in the spaceship. And well many other things. Don't be fooled, it's not as if you can use the weapons out of the room. They added a small detection system for that, so don't get any ideas now. But this isn't the only thing they do with you, sometimes you even get to be with them and help with the world domination thing. Of course you most of the time decline such offers. Which kind of annoys them, they want you to rule by their side at some point. But it's okay, they can be patient.
• They're manipulative. Another moment you might be yelling at Darcy and then out of nowhere you're suddenly in some sort of state of calm. Their manipulation tactics change every so often. Some are harsh and some are more at the psychological side. Unfortunately for you they like to use the harsh ones. Let's say you're just simply conversing with them about someone you know. You suddenly say something they don't like and then BAM! Suddenly they're making vague threats towards them, forcing you to believe you were insignificant to them and was simply a tool for their own amusement. Pointing out multiple things you had told them and twisting it into something sinister always making you re-think what had REALLY happened. Making them seem like they're the only person you can trust. And if they succeed you would suddenly have severe trust issues as well as lower self-esteem.
• Don't be fooled too much by their act! They're sadistic, sure not a huge sadist when it comes to you getting hurt. But more at your friends or other people you were near with before the kidnapping. That's not to say that they don't enjoy seeing you in pain sometimes. However that side of them is mostly left hidden and barely even shows. And even when it does it'll mostly be at your mistakes or just simply laughing at your reactions. Even then it'll mostly be on small things. But I will say one thing they don't enjoy it when you're in physical pain. Emotional pain is more their forté. Oh, but don't let that fool you they'll definitely hurt you physically if you get on their bad side. You won't lose a limb but you'll certainly get badly bruised. Or worse a broken limb
• This isn't the worst scenario to get stuck in. At least in my opinion it isn't. Sure it's emotionally draining but you won't have to go through absolute torture. You still have the chance at being saved because of Anne and Sasha.
SCENARIO B:
• At first you didn't even get a glance from them. You weren't a big deal. But you were certainly loyal towards Andrias and the core, just a little bit closed off. The reason why wasn't ever revealed, or at least you didn't wanna share it. Which might've sparked some interest in Darcy. When Darcy had asked about you Andrias would simply inform them that you had been a big help when it came to machines or anything that was needed to be built and even after the whole entire world domination thing you were surprisingly chill and simply told him you already knew. When asked about how or why you never answered and would tell him to be grateful to have someone as loyal as you, especially someone as great of an engineer. You were also very closed off, not talking to anyone ever. Even when Andrias tried to get friendly with you, you would always close yourself off or not acknowledge him, not ever wanting to converse with him for more than 5 minutes or two. Which only intrigued Darcy more. Darcy just had to get to know your entire ordeal and as dumb as it sounds, they wanted to get to know you.
• Just after their conversation with Andrias they'd immediately be hanging around the other corner just waving towards you. To which in Darcy's surprise you scowled and started to walk faster. Before they could even catch up to you or talk to you, you were gone. Darcy had never felt so many emotions at once, confusion, frustration, shock and amazement. Every single part of them was practically screaming at once, they were practically baffled. You're working FOR THEM? You seem to hate their guts. It didn't even seem like you wanted to be here. Were you planning to betray them later? Or maybe take all the power for yourself? Or maybe you just had a bad day? They were so confused, you didn't make any sense. Especially since Andrias said you were loyal to them.
• Don't be to surprised if you're met with a smiling Darcy looming over you right after you woke up. You understandably freak out and throw a pillow right at their face. But to your surprise they laugh at. If you decide to show more negative emotions towards them, they'll only grow more intrigued. "The hell are you doing in my room Darcy!?" "Relax, It's not as if we're going to kill you or something. We just wanted to invite you to our cupcake trips."
• You cannot decline, you will follow along with them whether you like it or not. Just be prepared for a lot of questions from Darcy while walking with them. Oh and they'll walk extra slowly just to lengthen the time spent and maybe to annoy you. Once you two do arrive Darcy will shoo you off with no cupcakes to eat and send you to do some work. Before you can even protest they shut the door on you, although you could swear you heard snickering from behind the door. Not only did they waste your time, but they also made you walk all the way there only to get nothing.
• You'll be 'called in' more than usual with Darcy in the system. Weapons and machines mysteriously break more often, and for some reason Darcy has to be near you while you fix the equipment. Constantly taunting you and occasionally complimenting your work. Although, let's say they don't think you spent enough time with them the equipment. They'll tell you something looks dodgy with your work telling you to do further fixes on it. Increasing the time spent.
• You'll find yourself spending more time with them than actually being alone. 80% Darcy, 20% literally anything else. One second you might be alone, away from anything else and finally getting a little time for yourself, taking a sigh of relief. Until.. BOOM! Darcy comes out, out of fucking nowhere, clinging onto you and complaining about how boring it is to wait for world domination to unravel on earth.
• Once they do realize they're a bit attached to you, they'll treat you like an object. Constantly convincing themselves they're simply using you and don't have any kind of attachment with you. After all any kind of relationship is stupid. They just can't stop thinking about you because so much needs to be fixed! Granted, most of the times they're the ones that have caused the damages- but still! They're just using you for entertainment, nothing else.. right?
• Unlike the other scenario they (partially) like your rude and unwanting side. It makes things more interesting for them. Although what really interests Darcy the most is how you'd come running whenever there was something wrong with the gear. However if it was anything else that doesn't have to do with future plans and objectives it was irrelevant.
• Your privacy? What are you talking about? Ever since they started to feed into their obsession your so called "privacy" is gone. Now you have cameras all locked into you 24/7. You won't be able to notice them of course, they're all so minuscule and most of them just materialize. Oh and did I mention that they're always recording? Only Andrias and Darcy knows about it, but you might just accidentally find it when Darcy gets a bit to sloppy and you're called in. Now how you take that information is up to you. Because Darcy will only react if you react.
• You might just be walking down a hallway and suddenly be in a deep conversation with Andrias. Of course these conversations don't ever last long because Darcy comes RUNNING if you ever talk to someone else. Especially if you're more open to others than them. You might finally be enjoying yourself until suddenly Darcy grabs your arm and yanks you towards them and yells at Andrias until quickly walking away with you. Andrias giving you a look of concern and sympathy until walking away to whatever duty Darcy has given him while Darcy is talking about all of their accomplishments and bragging about themselves.
• Darcy is also completely new to craving things from you, especially something as useless as touch or affection. They haven't felt anything close to romantic feelings in millennias, and this is probably the closest they can get to "romantic". They'll probably only notice they're in "love" with you after watching some stupid romantic human show, ironically of course. They wanted to mock humanity until realizing what the show had just presented was something they wanted with you. Marcy of course could've also explained to them what it was or they went into her memories while she was mass shipping and watching a movie about romance, religiously.
• After they realize this, Darcy will just straight up self loath which is surprising because of their incredibly big ego. They've always thought that they don't need anyone. But you just completely threw that idea out of the roof, because now they felt like they NEEDED you. So at this time you might suddenly find yourself getting more time for yourself. Not a random Darcy popping up out of nowhere and demanding you accompany them. And although it will probably not take that much time before Darcy comes back and accompanies you every single fucking second. It will definitely give you a breather before going through hell again.
• Don't think this makes them more nicer with you though. They're forcefulness will go up by a lot as well as their possessiveness, just with that new tint of "I love you" in there. Playfulness will spark and go up and they won't feel the need to break something to get your attention. Well, they'll still do it just not as much as before.
• Because of their egos they'll think you won't even think about denying them if they were to ask you out. So when they do ask you out and you reject them. They'll go in a tantrum of rage, breaking everything in sight and demanding you to be serious until you deny them again. Now if you think about running away in this moment they won't even stop you and will just let you go. You'll probably go in your room that had been assigned to you and take it easy.
• Don't be to surprised if Darcy switches your room to be with them. Because from now on you're with them forever. Always in their line of sight and always near them. They won't take no for an answer and you won't have any rights anymore.
• To them you're just an another planet to conquer, to dominate and control. I mean, they didn't call themselves a power-freak for no reason.
(Shh I know this seems unfinished but still-)
Base yandere Darcy headcanons:
• They crave your attention all the time and expect you to be free every single second to fulfill their "needs". Whether it be in the night or when you're eating, or doing anything really. Every ounce of your attention should be directed towards them. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. As long as you're paying attention to them they're content with it.
• They wouldn't hesitate to kill for you. To them they are completely irrelevant. Even if it were to be your friends or family, they'll kill them. But it's not as if they are oblivious to the fact that you might get hurt. In fact they are completely aware of it.
• They enjoys cutting ties with the people you feel bonds with. They do after all find that relationships are just obstacles and useless. Relationships keeps you from pursuing your goals. A bit hypocritical of them if I'm going to be honest.
• Sadism won't be a trait that appears as much when they're with you. It'll mostly appear when you make mistakes or just be clumsy in general. They don't however enjoy you being in physical pain. They're totally fine with you being emotionally vulnerable or having any other mental instability. Sadism will also appear more towards other people than you. They just feel bad whenever they hurt you. An annoying trait for them because they always enjoy hurting people. And seeing as they feel bad whenever they hurt you kind of hurts their ego.
• Clingy, holy shit are they clingy. They'll follow you everywhere and the minute they lose sight of you they freak out. Well not freak out as frantic. They're pretty dependent, they just cling onto you a lot. But if you do somehow manage to escape, they will lose their marbles.
• Ever since they became Darcy they had a sudden love towards games. For that reason they will invite you to game nights. It's not even an invite you just get forced into it. They really needed a buddy to game with. Even if it's abusive and a forced relationship from your side.
• They will manipulate you and make you feel as if you're taking them for granted despite the fact that they trapped you here and made you feel like shit. Manipulation won't be new, it will happen every once in a while towards you. Putting toxic mindsets on you, giving you trust issues and BOY is there coming a lot more.
(So sorry about making you wait this long, it was not my intention to keep you waiting for this long. I HOPE YOU ENJOYED!)

Back again after a bit of a break, absolute gem from the roommate on the title screen:
"Wow, seeing the Monado without Shulk on the title screen hits a lot different now that I know that he dies. It's like a memorial" <- she is unaware of (most of) The Horrors To Come
She then saw Fiora on her old save and said "aww, but at least Shulk will be with her" and I had a moment of absolute terror that she'd connected the dots on something I accidentally said earlier before I realized that no, she means they'll be together and dead lol
Man ok I still obviously wish I hadn't accidentally spoiled her about Shulk's death but she's still going to be in for a hell of a surprise when it happens. Just now she said that she's sure he'll die heroically and I'm like. man. I wish that his death meant something. That it was in service of a higher noble goal. But it's just senseless and everything hurts
We're wrapping up Satorl Marsh and she was like "do they explore the Giant and White Spider lore more in the next games?" and I'm like well. I have no idea how to answer that. "yeah it...gets explored"
And then she's like "yeah well it makes sense that we don't explore it too much in this game, with the war and all" and to myself I'm like "I think you'll be surprised by how much it does get explored here"
She was very appropriately grossed out by the Bionis Interior, and also she never bought that the Bionis was truly dead
She also said "we're just like microbes to them. Like the Bionis probably doesn't know or care that we exist"
Good news! We got through the Face Nemesis cutscene without her realizing that it's Fiora in there! She's too preoccupied with being shocked that the Face Mechon are, in fact, people
Roommate: "Is...is that Fiora??" Me: "...No, probably not." Roommate: "Yeah, I mean she's like dead dead. She got stabbed" Me: "Yeah, she was eviscerated"
(For the record, that totally makes up for the Shulk spoiler. I can keep a secret sometimes!)
Ehehe I convinced her that the mysterious pilot girl is "Lady Meyneth" which is! Technically correct!
This small deception is also helped by the fact that she interpreted Xord's last words as him being renamed when he became a Face. She hasn't seen that one Desiree dialogue yet, which I'm very thankful for
Oh yeah and she's raged against the High Entia for not helping in the Mechon War a few times, and I'm just thinking about how much more sense it makes that Egil would leave the High Entia relatively alone with a little more lore knowledge she'll get several tens of hours from now
lmaoooo she and Reyn asked if Sharla was going to shoot Melia with the water crystals at the same time. Same brain with her favorite character
Alvis!!! We met him!!!! She's been calling him "the man from Shulk's dreams", to which I've always responded "the man of my dreams" and she gets it now. We're both ace but she heard him say "hello there" and her heart skipped a beat lol
She didn't??? Notice???? That the High Entia have wings??????
I blithely mentioned it, assuming that she'd already noticed, but she hadn't. I feel a little bad about it now but there's not much worse I can spoil besides Shulk dying, so
And we finished off by meeting Riki, who she is delighted to have in the party permanently. Personally I'm looking forward to the middle-aged dad reveal for her reaction to it and to seeing all the sweet Riki moments again because I love him and miss him

Read my pinned post before you interact: like, reblog, reply, dm, ask, or follow. Must be over eighteen years of age to interact. 18+ only.
i keep thinking about forcemasc tboy or dyke altar servers. like joking around before setting up for mass. stealing so many tender glances at each other while working together. going through the motions until their hand brushes against yours. feeling so bored on a slow day and getting so much energy from their presence that you just want to hurry and clean up so you can hang out. spending every week looking forward to being around them again... but the more time you spend together, the more you begin to notice changes. the small boost in confidence, not remembering the last time you wore foundation or a push-up bra, trying new cologne just bc they said it'd smell good on you, feeling way more comfortable with them than anyone else... they just seem to get it, like they understand you in a way no one else has even tried. they're always encouraging you to relax and go after whatever goals you confess you've been thinking about. they're actually a really positive and healthy influence in your life, and they make you feel grounded, safe, and secure. it's weird how closely you've bonded together over the past... (wow, has it been that long already?!)... reflecting on your life when you first met until now, you realize how much of an impact they've had in who you're becoming. you're looking forward to every new day... and having to wear a dress for the last holiday mass didn't feel like part of your future. it feels like who you were - and not who are now. you find yourself wanting more advice from them, to dress like them, to be more like them in every way. they seem really proud to know you're interested in what they have to share with you, like their eyes light up every time you ask them about things most of your friends or family don't care for. showing them some stupid fashion trend your favourite actor's wearing has them asking questions, showing interest in whatever means something to you. no one else does that! but they're right there to suggest you try it next week, and they'll even bring something for you to wear so you won't have to buy anything new.
Read my pinned before you interact! 18+ only.

c3e92 pt. 1: the Bells Hells
Man, Matt really had to open with that somber tone, didn't he—
Orym immediately takes the lead, begins to guide them away from the city, away from the storms. It makes sense — the rest of them haven't experienced something like this before, the loss of a loved one, of a friend, in the heat of a battle when you can't stop for even a second to process what just happened.
Liliana can't go with them — if she leaves, they'll know, and she's more useful to them as an agent on the inside. If she goes, then the Bells Hells won't know the developments on the moon, won't know what's going on; but while she's here, she can relay that information back to Exandria.
In order to reawaken Predathos, there are boundaries that imprison it within itself, set up by the gods. The Ruidisborn are part of pushing through those boundaries, and are supposed to be what breaks the final one; without an exaltant vessel, Predathos can't step beyond its cage.
Liliana is not the only possible vessel — she is simply the strongest one. If she goes, then another Ruidusborn will take her place. She's communed with it, and she doesn't think that it wants them, wants mortals — it just wants to be awake, to be free. But they, and especially Orym, cannot take her word for it, because everything she knows about it is what it has told her.
Imogen makes the right call and clues the Bells Hells in to not telling Liliana about the secret passage. Liliana tells her that as long as Imogen is not on Ruidus, they can contact each other in dreams safely, presumably because she would be reaching out to Imogen beyond the eyes of the Weave-mind. She also tells them that the Weave-mind and Ludinus haven't been able to trust her because they cannot fully see within her mind. A wave of relief and heartbreak washes over her as Imogen tells her to stay.
Ludinus first made contact with the Weave-mind about three centuries ago (corresponding to the fall of Molaesmyr), and they both knowingly use each other to their own ends, each thinking that they'll have the final word. But Ludinus has been "following a path laid out for him by Predathos."
Liliana was at the conservatory in Jrusar when Ludinus found her and started to groom her to become an exaltant. He offered to free her and Imogen from the burden, but she didn't realize what was being done until she was already too deep in it.
"How can we get out of the city safely?" "Give me your hands." Liliana teleports them to the edge of the Bloody Bridge. "Find those who you can trust. Then, find me, when you need my guidance. I'll see you in your dreams."
As soon as they step through the bridge, they see that the interior is the same encampment. They bluff their way through, with the aid of a phantasmal force, and make it outside — there's evidence of recent battle here. There are "trophies," too — holy symbols and Vasselheim armor set out on pikes. They spot the familiar symbol of the Changebringer, looking off to an unknown horizon from a tattered cloak, and they take it.
Imogen sends a message to Keyleth: "We're back. We're at the surface of the Malleus Key, trying to find a way to get back to you." "Oh. That is wonderful news. I'll be at the encampment as soon as I can — can you get there safely? Oh. That's not how this works. Uh, I'll—"
The tension begins to fade as they make their way westward toward the encampment they first came from.
Ashton: "He'd been itching to do that since the day I met him." Orym: "But I've seen enough fights go south. If he didn't do that, we'd all be dead."
FCG made his death count, and they can all make it worth it — but Ashton can be angry, too. Those two things are easy to hold at the same time.
As for Liliana, they made the right call, not trusting her. She may have her reservations about Ludinus, she might not support him, but she's very much a believer of Predathos, of Ludinus' goal.
Laudna: "That bit she said, about how this is what you're designed for... it reminded me of FCG, but I also feel like I owe you an apology. I feel like I understood your mom, on a deeper level, in that moment; I think it's reminiscent of something I think we all struggle with, not being able to supersede that feeling of being designed. Controlled. Manipulated. But it also made my heart break for her. It feels like we've been very privileged to go on a journey guided by FCG to learn that we're more than what our creators intended for us, and I don't think she's had that." Laudna hits the nail on the head: any one of them could've been in Liliana's shoes. Until the shard incident, Ashton was. But they had someone, a group, to pull them back from the edge.
Ashton: "It made me very angry, and I don't like being angry. You're too fucking good for her. I hope she's right, I really do — I hope her ends are great, because these means are unforgivable."
Orym sticks one of Otohan's blades in the dirt. "That is the blade that killed my husband. She is not right." He walks away.
Chetney (/Travis) has a feeling about where Ludinus was; he turns to Everoa. She tells them that he's in Aeor. That's where he's been getting all these machines, the dispelling array, the influence for the keys, the war machines.
There are multiple layers of the Prime Pillar, and while they got through the first layer, the second was divinely-originated adamantine; when they discovered this, Ludinus left for Aeor to try and find a solution, but he hasn't returned in days. Something in Aeor, called the Dominox, was delaying his Aeorian excavations.
Aeorian technology had a unique understanding of how to unravel the basis of divine magic, which the Emperium needed to burrow through the shell containing Predathos. So Ludinus went in search of the Factorum Malleus within the depths of Aeor.
The glass on Ruidus is the remnants of Predathos' last form, the form it was imprisoned in. Its body was turned in to its own prison — the same thing that happened to Alyxian.
"There are moments in someone's life when they need to decide what to do next. I think this is one of them." Ashton needs to sleep, needs to break something — but in the morning, they'll all have some thoughts about who they're going to be next.
Orym breaks into tears, finally lets the facade slip to Imogen. "Every one of us makes our decisions through the lenses we see life through. I can't take mine down. It's not even about revenge for me; I'm just trying to honor what they signed up to do." Although they might not have seen eye to eye in the past, Imogen reassures Orym that he should have no doubts about her goals now; Liliana made her choices, and Imogen understands that now.
As Imogen leaves, Orym reaches out to Dorian. "We're home. Can you hear me? Northeast of Bassuras. Can you get there? I'm... struggling. Can you get here? Fuck, I miss you."
Matt asks everyone to leave the table, then he leaves, too.
Aabria sits behind the screen.
You know what? I think it's time to see the other half of the story.
I'm splitting this one into two parts! pt. 2 under the cut
This is most likely going to be my last summary-style liveblog post! I'll be reverting back to doing one-post stuff as things happen, it's just easier on me and my hyperfixation-addled interest that way :)
c3e92 pt. 2: the Crown Keepers
We open on the Crown Keepers plus Cyrus, not far from Kraghammer. They have been moving from village to village across the world to keep away from Poska. It's been nearly a month, and each of them have a cache of both money and brumestone. But two weeks ago, the Apogee Solstice began, and the Blightstar was lost from the skies of Tal'dorei.
Dariax's divine soul comes from a deity known as "the Observer." Even he, alongside Lolth, Melora, and the Raven Queen have felt fear from their patrons (though from the Observer, more a feeling of curiosity toward the world).
It was Orym's message that pushed the Crown Keepers to haste, trekking toward Zephrah. Even then, as they travel,
Dariax has no goal outside of a sense of kinship toward those he's traveled with, and a new sense of protectiveness over Opal. He's liable to stay at Dorian's side to follow in his footsteps. Protector.
Morrighan is like a horse chomping at the bit; she's been given new purpose from the Matron of Ravens, calls herself (and perhaps was designated) a champion. She feels distant from the Crown Keepers and allegiance to the Matron; the second she says bite, she'll bite, no matter who it is. She's multiclassed into paladin. Lying in wait.
Fy'ra Rai hasn't been fully lost or demoralized, but confused as to where she is most needed now. She remembers saying that not all family is blood, much family is chosen, so she's diverting her protective nature from her sister to the Crown Keepers, who the Wildmother pulled her to protect. She still feels the loss of her sister, Poska. Conflicted.
Dorian thought he wanted this scenario — freedom, adventure. But it's not the situation dragging his mood down; he's had more time alone, and he feels the group start to drift, and he's coming to an unsettling realization: he's missing something in this equation. It's something he ran from months ago, something he felt like he didn't have and wanted. He's starting to wonder why he's here, for the first time ever. From drifting to searching.
Opal is in a dream-like existence, where she's losing the thread. There are moments of clarity, and she works overtime to be more herself around the Crown Keepers then; she feels like if she can keep it together, then she has control. But much like when you're in that space between falling asleep and being awake, it's all confusing. In the moments where it feels more dreamlike, she becomes darker, unsettling and unsettled. Opal's dreams were the things that went first. It's not that she sleeps and has nightmares; every night for the past 2 weeks, she goes to sleep and wakes up exhausted, as if her body had been tensed and moving throughout the night, with no memory of the time between. Every dawn, if she reaches for Ted, she is exhausted. If she presses, she tells her little. It's not her fight.
Some days into this journey, something in Opal's mind breaks. She stops in the middle of the road, listening. Immediately, the Crown Keepers snap to attention.
Morrighan feels that same ineffable sense of purpose, the absolute density of presence, the pure light that she felt when she made the pact with the Matron — inverted. The same bestowment of power and purpose, tinged with something that curdles the stomach of the Matron, and so curdles Morrighan's.
Morrighan sees it in a crow's song before it happens, but Opal raises, levitates, then expands outward in every direction.
Matt slides over to the other side of the table, leaving Amy alone on the top table, and we launch into combat against Lolth-Incarnate Opal!
Opal hears the voice in her ear. "Hah. So sorry. I think... I wanted us to have a little more time to do this organically. But your sister keeps getting in my way. I don't care about my image; I care about my life. And what I need more than rehabilitation and public perception is a champion — a true champion. I need you to come with me, and I need to sever the ties that keep you with [the Crown Keepers]. They tie you to this place, they hold you back, and what I need is someone who works for me, who serves me. You accepted my crown, and now, the bill is due. Opal, Twice-Crowned, you will become my champion."
Morrighan update: She's an oath of vengeance paladin!
She hits Opal, but Opal takes none of that damage — Ted takes all of it. As the blade sinks in, it hits the dark shadow of something that looks like Opal but cut and muscled.
As Dorian beseeches her — "why are you doing this?" — the Opal that is acting responds, not the Opal that is within: "she doesn't know."
Off of a successful religion check, Fy'ra Rai asks the Wildmother first what she, Fy'ra, could do to stop Opal's transformation: remove the crown. Then, she asks what the Wildmother could do to stop it: why would I? As the third question, what does the Wildmother need from Fy'ra to help Opal? Why would I stop this from happening? The answer is not furious, it is fearful.
Melora, the Wildmother would not herself stop this transformation from happening. Opal donned this crown willingly, and these are the consequences; why would the Wildmother intervene? And further, the Wildmother is afraid of the Blightstar, of Ludinus, of Predathos. Why would she stop the exaltation of the champion of the gods? It's not like the Prime Deities and the Betrayers have never been united before. It's not like the circumstances weren't almost precisely the same.
Lolth speaks again: "What are you willing to do? I will make her mine. Are you willing to kill her? I will not die to that." They see a flash of red.
Then, as Morrighan picks up one of the clusters of crystals surrounding her, something inside Opal's mind shatters — a memory rises, then breaks and fades. There's a story, told to the pair of them shortly before their mother disappeared, when they were three years old. There's a word: "evalux." A splinter-group, mis-matched eyes. "A long time ago, a group of people found something called a Beacon. They learned from it about some great entity or god, a concept that sought to know itself, to understand via experience the world of Exandria. It split itself apart. This one was found far away. These people that worshiped the Luxon found and created magics within themselves to split their own souls apart so that they could learn who they were via observation." Opal was a child, torn in two, learned what she liked and loved and knew through observation of Ted — and so, Opal and Ted are entangled. Opal understands herself because she understands Ted; she is not lost to her, she is her. They are something rare and magical — a memory, rare and lost forever in the moment of knowing.
Matt: "I'm gonna go ahead and cast bless at 2nd level—" Aabria: "GOD DAMNIT"
Cyrus the Himbo my beloved — "BROTHER, I CANNOT SEE. Should I shoot an arrow??" "NO—"
As they pick up the gems surrounding Opal, they each see a memory. The one that Fy'ra picks up is from a week ago, a village hardly more than a hamlet, a mixture of cold and humid and quiet. In an inn, in the memory, they bump in to each other — Fy'ra is holding the two pars of the once-whole tiger eye, moving them between her fingers like worry stones. "I told you it was... important to heal things with [Ted]. I've always known that [my sister] is... my sister, but she's always been a bit of an asshole. But I never thought that she would want to kill me."
Fy'ra and Opal find common ground, being the one whose asshole sister is trying to kill her and being the asshole sister (respectively). As they do, Fy'ra looks to the crown digging into Opal's skin. "I don't know what is happening to you, but you can trust me to fight for you as if you were my sister, too."
(guys please watch this instead of reading my recap, the humor here is so much better than I could ever transcribe—)
The episode ends on the Crown Keepers breaking away from Opal and fleeing as she pursues.

“The bed is getting cold and you're not here...”
Tumblr media
pairing: Fyodor Dostoevsky x reader;
genre: some angst with fluff I guess (??);
word count: 675;
type: short drabble;
warnings: bad writing and maybe some grammar mistakes!! (english is not my first language, hope y'all understand it).
A/N: okay okay, I know this could be better but it's my first attempt to write and post something, so be patient with my shitty writing (I'm still learning 😭💀).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fyodor Dostoevsky was a man committed to his goals, and you've always known that. He would do absolutely anything to execute his plans without a single flaw and by this, I imply that, if necessary, he wouldn't think twice about leaving you completely alone for days just to accomplish something related to his schemes. But, even if you were already used to his skeptical and cold demeanor, you couldn't imagine how miserable you would feel every time he lefts you because of his job.
---🦋---🦋---🦋----
It was just another lonely night. Sprawled in the vastness of fancy sheets of an empty queen-sized bed, sleep was almost impossible. It had been fifteen days since he and Nikolai left, and, without him, you felt so fragile, helpless, and unprotected. Even as an ability user, you were in a constant state of alertness because, being in a relationship with Fyodor means that, if his enemies can't hit him, they'll go for the thing he treasures the most, which is you. And Fyodor knows that. You two were fully aware that he was putting your life at risk when he asked you to be his darling, and you accepted this situation not just because you loved him, but because he promised to protect you no matter what and you trusted him with your life. He's a man of words, after all, and you know that.
Wrapped in one of his coats, you sought some comfort while inhaling his scent. That soft fragrance of lavender and black tea was so addictive. Exactly like him. Oh, you felt so nostalgic, and missed his touch even more. Your hands clutched even tighter to the coat, and you could feel the hot tears starting to run down your face and onto the fabric. You couldn't stop thinking about Fyodor and about how much his absence darkened your days. Because of his mission, he wasn't able to establish any type of communication, and this lack of news just anguished you even more. It was pathetic how dependent you had become on him. Even though he was a man of questionable morals and awful acts, you adored him and treated him as someone worthy of all your love and devotion. How pathetic.
Your cries of despair, however, were interrupted by the sound of footsteps in the hallway. At first, you thought it was Sigma who was concerned with your behavior and was coming in to check how are you feeling during such tough times, so you tried to clean your swollen eyes and adjust your messy hair. At the sound of the door opening, you immediately raised from your bed, but all your sadness was abruptly replaced by a sense of relief when you saw Fyodor entering the room. Running out of bed, you immediately walked over to your exhausted boyfriend and helped him out of his heavy black coat, which, unsurprisingly, had some blood on it. When you were about to open your mouth to welcome your man, Fyodor surprised you with a sudden hug.
Hugs were an unusual thing for him, but he did it with so much passion that you could feel that he'd also missed being like this with you. And for a few minutes, you just stood like that, still and silent, his hands caressing your back as you rested your head on his chest, listening to the comforting sound of his heartbeat.
- "Fedya, I missed you so much..." - you muttered under your breath, losing yourself in his sweet embrace and feeling again the warmth of tears, but this time of pure satisfaction and joy. Hearing your mumbles, Fyodor brought his index finger to your chin and lifted it slowly so that your eyes met his violet ones, which were glancing at you with unexpected tenderness.
- "Me too, Myshka..." - he said with a sigh, followed by a tired smile and a soft loving kiss pressed on your forehead. After this, he just stood there, resting his chin on the top of your head as you keep hugging him as tight as you can, afraid that he would escape from your embrace and leave you again.

A Mission With Miles
Chapter 1 ( First encounter)
Summary: You've recently been added to quaritchs squad for an upcoming Pandora mission. You usually work behind the scenes but for this mission you have to retrieve some samples from Pandora. Quaritch agrees to train you one on one but isn't a fan at first but as time passes his interest in you grows.
Contains: fluff, teasing, cursing, possessiveness, brat taming, slight nsfw and nsfw scenes, enemies to lovers, overprotectiveness, sir kink, dominant/switch, degradation
A/n: This is my first time posting any fanfic I've written so enjoy! This is the first of many chapters!! ☺️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's like any other day at the office, behind a computer all day, filling out paperwork, you know the basics. Watching the squads come back and forth from their missions. As much fun as it is watching and hearing the stories of Pandora, it's a goal of mine to go out there myself. Seeing and hearing is one thing but to experience is a dream of mine.
"Y/n!!"
Your boss (Parker Selfridge) bursts through your office doors with an urgent look on his face. You almost jump out of your chair from the sudden noise but you catch yourself.
"Ahh! Was that really necessary?"
You say with an annoyed expression on your face. You hate being interrupted while you work especially when he does it.
"You're assigned to a new project, you know about Pandora plants and life well enough right?"
"I-"
Before finishing your sentence he cuts you off to finish the rest of his statement.
"Great, you'll need to go down to Pandora and collect some samples we sent to your tablet. Since this is your first time down there we have someone to help you train. Now get your ass up and follow me."
Without hesitation he leaves the room and bolts off somewhere. You frantically grab your tablet along with other supplies and quickly try and follow him. As much as you hate him he still is your boss. Last time you talked back you almost got fired but thankfully you convinced him not to. You speed walk down the hallways trying to keep up with him. "Why the hell is he so fast?!" You think to yourself as you finally make it to your destination. You run into the room and bump into something. You instantly fall backwards and drop all your things.
"!!Ouch...what the heck is that?"
You looked up and your eyes met the one and only Miles Quaritch. His Na'vi form towered over you as you sat stunned on the ground. Your face flushed bright red realizing what just happened as you try and gather your things.
"S-sorry sir! My apologies, I had no idea what I was doing! I was in a hurry! I-"
You start anxiously rambling hoping parker wouldn't yell at you. While gathering your things together you still ramble but you're cut off by the colonel.
"quit your yapping and stand up already. You're wasting my time already."
"Sorry sir."
You apologize again and quickly stand up. The Colonel rolled his eyes at you and Parker sighed with disappointment.
"Sorry about them but trust me they'll be more useful after some training. Isn't that right y/n?"
You nod frantically while trying to keeping your cool. You were pretty embarrassed from making a scene moments ago.
"Alright now what exactly do I need to train this small fry for?"
Quaritch says as he makes eye contact with. He leans up against the wall opposite of you and counties to eye you with an annoyed expression on his face still. You look back at him but in a slightly amazed way. You can't help but to be captivated by the Navi's appearance. You eye him up and down looking at all of his Navi features, comparing them to actual Navi looks. You zone out while looking at him but Parker starts talking to Quaritch.
"I need you to train y/n to use the weapons and basic combat skills. We need them to go to Pandora and retrieve a few samples from Forrest."
"And why don't you just have us do it? We don't need to drag along someone like them around."
"because they know the land almost as well as the damn natives that live there. They haven't seen much of Pandora but they study the land from the tapes and information we have. You knuckle heads don't know much, all you guys know is fight, kill, and shoot. Look. Teach them how to not die and you're off the hook. Got it?"
Once again he leaves the room in a quick fashion but you still were looking at Quaritch. He looks at still watching him a hawk but walks over in your direction. Once he's only inches away from you he bends down and lifts your chin up harshly.
"!! What the hell??"
You jump back into reality after he harshly grabs your face to look at him.
"That's the same thing I should be asking you for a small fry. Got a staring problem?"
"No, seems like you do though."
You push his hand away and back up from him. He looks shocked and stands back up. He crosses his arms and he ears perk backwards.
"I'm supposed to be training you. You know me and I could care less about who you are. Meet me outside in the court for 7:00 sharp. We'll see if you're good enough to survive out there."
You roll your eyes and look up at him.
"Yes sirrrrr"
You say sarcastically as you turn to leave. But right before you go you turn back to the tall and quite rude blue man.
"My name is y/n so use it. I might not know much about combat but I am a fast learner."
You turn around and leave quickly. Your face now bright red again realizing how smart of a response that was. "Oh shit he's gonna break me tomorrow!" You think to yourself as you basically run back to your room hoping he doesn't follow you. He was still in the room, ears now perked up with a slight smirk on his face.
"my my, we got a snappy one on your hands miles."
He says to himself while grazing his tongue across his fangs. He chuckled to himself and walked off to find his squad members. Maybe training you wasn't such a bad idea to him. We'll soon see how it is for him.
I can imagine like you being Shinichiro girlfriend so he brings you home to meet his family and then those chaos gremlins (namely Baji and Manjirou) tell you how he sucks that you should date someone else you just rub Shinichiro tell him how much you love him while he cries a waterfall
Thanks fot this amazing idea! I enjoyed writing this.
Rating: General
Warnings: toilet humor, fluff
"I'm sure they'll like you." There was a hint of nervousness in Shinichiro's voice. He was just trying to comfort himself with those words.
"I'll try to," you say, smiling at him. At the sight of your joyful face, he seems to have become a little more confident.
Shinichiro grabbed your shoulders and rubbed his head against yours. It was a surprise for you to know that he is like a cat: he just loves tactile contact when you pet him. Sometimes, when you don't, he starts rubbing his head against your hands. Just adorable!
"Of course you will," he suddenly began, "how can you won't? You're smart, beautiful, kind and... and amazing! My grandfather needs to see you!"
Shinichiro told you a lot about his family. You knew about some of the problems in his family and that they were raised by their grandfather. According to Shinichiro, he is a wise and understanding person.
"You flatter me!" you said and felt the red on your cheeks from his words.
"Absolutely not!"
When you came to his house together, Shinichiro became visibly nervous. He looked thoughtful and rubbed the back of his neck. He always does this when something bothers him. You took his hand and at his questioning look you just nodded and smiled. He squeezed your hand.
"I... never brought anyone home," he said quietly, "girls, I mean."
It was nice to know that you were the first.
You were met by two small children of about the same age. They ran towards you and pushed each other, competing who will get to the goal faster. The blond girl ran faster and the same blond boy grabbed her leg. Now there are just two fighting kids on the floor in front of your feet. You turned to your boyfriend who slapped his forehead. You sat down on the floor next to a mess of two bodies:
"Hey, I see you're so happy to see us?" the children froze as soon as you made a sound and just looked at you with their big eyes. Charming, "you must be Ema, right?" you stroked the girl on the head and she beamed. She opened her mouth to say something, but the boy exclaimed loudly:
"And I'm Mikey...I mean Michael!" he tries to get out his sister's arms from himself, but fails, causing them to start fighting again.
"Stop it already! How do you welcome guest? I don't think grandpa will be pleased with you two," he interrupted and grabbed Mikey by the ear and pulled the kids apart, "better go and tell him we're already here."
Mikey, who was standing and rubbing his injured ear, suddenly perked up, looked at you and rushed somewhere into the house, shouting something that he would arrive first. The girl followed him.
"Michael?" you raised an eyebrow.
Shinichiro just shrugged and hugged you. He's a little taller than you, so he kissed your head and rested his chin on the top of your head.
"They're cute," you said, his shoulder drowning out the sound of your voice, "just adorable."
"Sometimes these adorableness are like a pain in my a.."
"I'm glad to see you here," someone's hoarse voice reached your ears and Shinichiro instantly unhooked from you and straightened up as if on a string. What a wonderful discipline, you thought. Grandfather turned to Shinichiro, "Introduce us please."
"Ah... em, yes, of course. Grandpa, this is Y/n, my girlfriend. Y/n, this is my grandfather. A person I deeply respect."
You bowed slightly
"Very nice to meet you, Mansaku-san."
"Mutually, Y/n," he smiled at you and put his hands behind his back. You just now noticed that those two charms with big eyes were peeking out from behind his back. Their eyes just shone, so childishly funny and you involuntarily laughed, "I suppose you have already met the smallest inhabitants of our house?"
"Yes, Mansaku-san. They were the first ones I saw," you waved at them and they hid behind Grandpa in embarrassment.
You all had a good time listening to some of Mansaku-san's stories and telling your own. He asked about your relationship with Shinichiro, causing the second to constantly blush and stutter. So you had to save your poor boyfriend and keep the conversation going. You didn't mention it, but Shinichiro seemed to accidentally touch you all the time. It must have been too awkward to hold hands now, and he wanted so badly to touch you.
The kids chatted most of the time, telling you their childhood stories and fiction. Mikey brought toys and told the story of each one. Ema is more reserved, she just asked questions about why you have such beautiful hair, where do you buy clothes and stuff like that.
"Hey, Y/N! Come on, I'll show you what I got!" Mikey called out and pulled you by the hand. You apologized and followed him. The thought crossed in mind that it wouldn't hurt to leave your boyfriend and Mansaku-san alone so they can discuss some things. Like father with son.
The children dragged you into a rather spacious children's room, where order reigned. Surprisingly, not a single toy lying alone on the floor. All things are neatly arranged on shelves. Mikey let go of your hand and reached into a box in the corner. You sat down on the floor in the middle of the room, waiting to see what he would show you.
He exclaimed "found it!" and proudly raised his hand, in which he held a wooden airplane. The boy ran up to you.
"That's what Shini did for me!" he seems to be very proud of his brother and loves the gift. Shinichiro has an adorable family.
"Wow, I didn't know he could do that," you said, spinning the plane in your hands and looking at it from all sides.
"Yeah, but I could still do better!" Mikey puffed out his chest.
"I believe, Manj... Mikey."
"Shinichiro acted like a lovesick idiot when you texted him," Mikey suddenly said.
"Yup, he had such a red face!" confirmed Ema, rubbing her plump cheeks, "he looked like a tomato!"
"And he smiled terribly!"
You chuckled at such straight forwardness. It was nice to know, he was glad to be with you.
"Once we swam in the pool with him and he lost his swimming trunks. His ass is..." you covered the boy's mouth with your palm.
"I don't think it's need saying."
"And when we were watching a movie in the living room, he farted loudly and didn't want to admit that it was him!" Mikey replied indignantly and his brows furrowed, "but I knew it was him! Never watch a movie with him, Y/n!"
You chuckled nervously and tried to change the topic.
"Maybe you better tell me what else your brother can do?" your fingers carefully ran over the wooden surface of the toy, "I know he likes motorcycles."
"Yes, but he never wants to give us a ride on his motorcycle," Ema squeaked.
"But he rolled me, because I said I would tell grandpa that Shini said bad words!" Mikey said laughing and put his hand on your leg, "did he ever ride you on a motorcycle?"
"Never"
"Oh, just tell him something like 'I won't love you anymore if you don't give me a ride!' and he'll agree!"
"But I won't stop loving him," you said and smiled at your thoughts.
"Y/n, he loves you very much. Because he behaves differently around you," Ema spoke up and looked at you with sparkling eyes.
"What do you mean?"
"Ah, he was constantly running after almost all the girls, because he is dumb!" Mikey scowled and folded his arms, "he said such stupid things to them. I wanted to puke!" he made an appropriate sound and put his fingers in his mouth.
"Yeah, but you are very beautiful and kind. I want Shini to marry you," Ema said, her cheeks blushing pink. As are yours.
"If he doesn't, then he's just a stupid fart!"
"Y/n, are you here?" said your boyfriend came into the room.
"Yeah, I'm here. I really enjoyed talking to you guys. You're really cool," you said to the kids and patted their heads.
The two of you were heading to your apartment, home. Shinichiro was visibly beaming and his mood was transferred to you.
"They liked you! I knew it! I knew it!" he exclaimed and hugged you tightly.
"You have a wonderful family, Shini," you cupped his cheek with your hand and looked into his eyes, where a mischievous twinkle shone, "I love you."
"I love you too," Shinichiro leaned in and touched your lips in a gentle kiss.
"Let's go home," you whispered to him, "but I was warned not to watch movies with you."
Shinichiro froze and his cheeks turned pink.
"What did they say to you?!" he asked in panic.
"What? Those little angels? Nothing special, Mr. Silly smile and red face," you chuckled merrily as his cheeks turned almost red.
"Little brats..." he muttered and pouted.
You were happy to meet his family, wonderful people who respect and appreciate him very much. Today you signified a piece of his soul and you liked it.
Previous Part • Next Part
She held the door slightly open, blocking Luke from Beel’s eyeline as he approached her. “Hey, you know how we’ve been having a super good time bunking together?”
“Not really?” Beel asked, tilting his head to the side. “Have we been having a super good time?”
“Answer faster next time, damn,” Cass muttered. “I have an idea to make it twice as fun.”
Beel’s face lit up. “Cheeseburgers?”
“Yeah, I guess we could get some cheeseburgers?” Beel smiled, eyes glazing over as he started thinking about food. He walked forward blindly entering his room. “Wait, Beel!”
Beel nearly ran Luke over in his hungry state. Luke screeched, darting out of the way at the last second. The sound was enough to knock some sense into Beel. His eyebrows knitted together as he tried to figure out why Luke was in his room.
“Wahoo!” Cass fake cheered, but it did little to dispel the tension. “Twice as fun sleepover!”
Tumblr media
The first thing Cass felt when she woke up that morning was safe. In his sleep, Beel had put his arm around her, pulling her closer. At 7’2, he easily dwarfed her. Being surrounded by so many people taller than her, she didn’t think about it very often anymore. With just of the two of them, it was hard to ignore.
She slipped out of his embrace, not wanting to wake him. Part of her morning routine, when she was able to get enough sleep, was to spend time in the library reviewing course material. More times than not, Satan was already in there.
The first few days, he’d ignored her completely. Gradually, he started engaging more and would even bring his own materials to study. Despite her expectations, he was always happy to help answer her questions. Perhaps he was excited to share his knowledge just as Levi was when sharing his interests.
With his help, Cass had been advancing through the material at an incredible rate. She was almost able to keep up in classes with the others and even maintained an average grade comparable to Levi’s. After finding out Diavolo had requested she be graded more leniently, she demanded they hold her to the same standards. Even when he relented and expected a drop in her grades, her average continued to climb.
She stepped out of the library to stretch her legs. Hushed voices floated through the hall. Despite Lucifer’s warning, Cass wasn’t going to stop investigating the mysteries surrounding the brothers. She followed the voices, staying hidden when she was able to make out what they were saying.
“I haven’t heard from him, I’m worried.”
“The life of an exchange student is busy.”
“Why can’t he come home? I’ll go in his place. He doesn’t even want to be there.”
“I’m not having this conversation again. This exchange program is the first step of Diavolo’s goal for the three realms. I won’t let anyone stand in the way of that goal. Do you understand?”
His question was met with silence. The implication weighed heavy in the air. Lucifer would make sure that anyone who opposed Diavolo wouldn’t survive. Something about that didn’t sit right with Cass. Would he really take that stance if it meant taking it against his brothers?
“Answer me this, who would choose to side with, Belphegor or me?”
Another question met with silence. Before Cass could think about it for too long, she felt a hand cover her mouth. Whoever had snuck up, pulled her away gently. Once they were in another room and the door was closed, Mammon let her go.
“Didn’t want to get caught eavesdropping.” Mammon shrugged. “I’m not surprised that Beel couldn’t manage to answer Lucifer.”
“What happened? Why is he so confident in Diavolo’s decision?”
“I don’t entirely know. After we fell from grace, he changed. None of us know what happened, but he pledged loyalty to Lord Diavolo. Ever since, he puts Diavolo’s desires first, no matter what. Even if he doesn’t agree with it.”
For pride itself to give up that much, Diavolo must have done something that would have been met with dissent it would have made it impossible for the brothers to be in the position they were now. Lucifer must have pledged loyalty as a deal. But the only thing Lucifer would do that for, was his family. Yet, making that deal could lead to him turning his back on them.
“Belphie wasn’t a fan of the program from the beginning. He would have fought Diavolo every step of the way. Lucifer selected him as one of the exchange students without listening to anyone else. I tried to get him to reconsider or at least talk about it with Belphie. In the end, it didn’t matter.”
As much as she wanted to ask him more, she knew there were likely only two people who could answer the questions she had. She doubted that Diavolo or Lucifer would be willing to do that though. Everything she learned here was like finding a new way out of the maze only to hit another dead end.
“Why did you fall?”
“We-”
“Why did you fall?” Cass interrupted.
He looked startled, as if he’d never been asked that. “Because Lucifer did. I planned on following him no matter what his decision was.” He paused, as if remembering that time. “I still would.”
---
“Lilith, I know you’re here!” Cass stormed into the construction zone that was her former room.
After talking with Mammon, she decided to confront Lilith. She needed to know what the hell happened that led to the brother’s falling. She’d convinced Lucifer she wasn’t feeling well and needed to stay home. Since he had a council meeting, Levi had gone to classes, and she had the house to herself.
“Coming in hot,” Lilith laughed as she appeared, sitting on a pile of debris.
“What lead to the Celestial war?”
Lilith froze, surprised by the question. Cass tossed the book about the Celestial War she’d found in the library on the ground at her feet. All she could find was that the brothers rebelled and when they lost, they were banished. After falling, Diavolo accepted them as denizens of the Devildom.
“You’re at the heart of it aren’t you?” Lilith started to speak, but Cass continued. “I don’t want to hear that you can’t tell me. I know something you did started this.”
“I didn’t know what would happen.” Her voice wavered as her head dropped, unable to look Cass in the eyes. “I never asked them to take my side. I, I just want them to be happy.”
Even as Lilith recounted the events that led to the war, Cass felt more confused than ever. The six brothers had been willing to give up everything they knew, everything they were for each other and Lilith. So, why was Belphie currently locked in a closet while they all harbored secrets.
“I don’t know what happened between Lucifer and Diavolo. I don’t remember anything after I was hit until I woke up in the human world.”
“Knowing what happened, would you do it again? Give the person you loved the fig from the Celestial Realm?”
Lilith looked up, more tears threatening to fall. She didn’t have to give Cass an answer, she already knew. “Am I a bad person?”
“No.”
“I’m the reason they’re here. I’m the reason Belphie is stuck up there and why -”
“No, you’re not. You may have opened the door, but they walked through it, and your dad or God or whatever you call him, locked it behind them. There are consequences to every decision. If you choose to focus on the bad, you stop seeing the good. I’m assuming there were some pretty good things that came from your choice, or you wouldn’t make it again.”
Lilith’s expression softened and she gave Cass a slight smile. She remembered what Mammon had said right before she made a pact with Levi. I’m so sick of people I care about blaming themselves when it’s not their fault.
“Cass?” Cass turned to Lilith, not realizing she had zoned out. “I think you should be careful around Belphie. I can’t really explain it, but he seems different down here. Not in the same way as the rest of them.”
“What do you mean?”
“When he was an angel, Belphie loved humans. He’s the reason I started sneaking down to the Human Realm.”
“But Beel and Mammon said he was against the exchange program. Why would he be against the idea if he-”
Cass’s question was cut off by a door slamming and someone yelling her name. By the time she looked back at the pile Lilith had been perched on, the ghost was gone. Thankfully, she’d taken the book Cass had brought with her when she vanished.
Cass rushed from the room, not sure how she’d explain why she was hanging out in the rubble when she was supposed to be ill. She collided with Levi as she rounded the corner to the entry way. Were it not for the quick reflexes that demons seemed to have, she would have fallen.
“Woah, are you okay?”
“Sorry, yeah, you scared me.” Levi let go once she found her footing. “What are you doing home?”
“Lucifer made me come back to check that you were feeling alright.”
Despite the annoyed tone, Levi looked surprisingly peaceful. It was obvious Lucifer hadn’t asked Levi to check on Cass because he was actually worried about how she felt. Lucifer had asked Levi because he knew he’d need a break from everyone at RAD by this point in the day. Yet another piece that didn’t fit into the picture Lucifer presented.
“I’m doing a lot better, thanks,” she lied. “When do you have to get back to class? Want to play a few rounds of Devil Kart before you go back?”
“I have time.” Levi lit up at the question. He grabbed her arm, pulling her along as he rushed to his room. She glanced back at the empty door hoping Lilith wouldn't shut back down and keep hiding secrets.
---
<< My Son: I need your help!!
<< My Son: Can you come outside?
<< My Son: I’m already at the House of Lamentation.
Cass barely had time to breathe after Levi left before she started receiving texts from Luke. Was there any being in all three realms that didn’t need her help? As soon as she opened the front doors, Luke ran in under her outstretched arm. He looked equal parts angry and unsettled as he frantically searched the room.
“Are you okay?”
“You have to let me stay here with you!” He grasped her arm with a surprising amount of strength.
“Woah, okay, did something happen?”
“I can’t go back to Purgatory Hall right now. Please let me stay in your room.”
“Luke, you know I would let you stay with me in a heartbeat, but I don’t exactly have a room right now.”
He gave her a skeptical look, so she showed him to the wreckage of Beel’s outburst. He examined the room, muttering complaints about demons under his breath. Cass leaned against the door frame, letting him process everything however he needed to.
“I can ask Lucifer if it’s okay if you sleep on the couch.” Luke let out a noise of disgust as he turned to her, appalled at the suggestion. “Or I can ask Beel if you can stay in his room too. That’s my current living situation.”
“They’re making you stay in a room with a demon? This whole exchange program is ridiculous. How can they bring a defenseless human here and make them live with demons? Obviously, you’re getting taken advantage of, I mean, two pacts?!”
“Well, I do have some agency,” Cass interjected.
Luke didn’t seem to notice though. He continued ranting about the program and how much he hated demons. Without being too obvious, Cass started leading him towards Beel’s room. If he didn’t want people to know he was here, standing in the middle of the hall wouldn’t be the best plan.
The second her hand grabbed the doorknob, the front door slammed open. Luke yelped before pushing her into Beel’s room. Even on the second floor, she could hear when each of the brothers entered the house.
Beel was so hungry, the sound of his stomach growling activated Cass’s flight or fight response. As he usually was after a council meeting, Satan was aggravated. Cass had learned to tell how angry he was based on the strength of his steps. The quickened thumps were barely covered by Levi and Mammon’s arguing.
The two always fought more when Levi wasn’t able to have enough time to recharge away from people. More often than not, their arguments were about Mammon owing Levi money. Though, Cass couldn’t quite figure out why he still lent Mammon money all the time.
If Levi and Mammon weren’t fighting, odds were that Asmo and Mammon were at each other’s throats. There was something pure about the way they fought with Mammon. Something very human about it, unlike how Satan would fight with Lucifer at times.
Asmo’s voice faintly drifted from the entry as he mumbled to himself about needing to redo his nails. Once it was clear the brothers had gone their separate ways, the front door shut with a thud and a soft sigh that could only be Lucifer.
She held the door slightly open, blocking Luke from Beel’s eyeline as he approached her. “Hey, you know how we’ve been having a super good time bunking together?”
“Not really?” Beel asked, tilting his head to the side. “Have we been having a super good time?”
“Answer faster next time, damn,” Cass muttered. “I have an idea to make it twice as fun.”
Beel’s face lit up. “Cheeseburgers?”
“Yeah, I guess we could get some cheeseburgers?” Beel smiled, eyes glazing over as he started thinking about food. He walked forward blindly entering his room. “Wait, Beel!”
Beel nearly ran Luke over in his hungry state. Luke screeched, darting out of the way at the last second. The sound was enough to knock some sense into Beel. His eyebrows knitted together as he tried to figure out why Luke was in his room.
“Wahoo!” Cass fake cheered, but it did little to dispel the tension. “Twice as fun sleepover!”
---
“It’s horrible. He never listens to me. I tried to warn him about always having tea with Lord Diavolo and he still goes over there. Worse yet, he said I should ask Barbatos to help with my baking. As if I would ever do that. The idea of even speaking to a demon face to face is repulsive.”
Cass glanced at Beel at the comment. Not that he usually let things get to him, but he did look somewhat dejected at the word. “Luke.” Luke’s head jerked in her direction, as if he’d forgotten they were in the room. “You’re being cruel. I respect that you’re allowed to have your own opinions and beliefs, but I don’t have to respect what those are or let you say them.”
“I -” he opened and closed his mouth a few times before letting his head fall.
“I’m not saying that to make you feel bad, but I just want you to think about it for a second. How would you feel if someone said those things about angels while you were standing right in front of them.”
Luke glanced at Beel nervously but didn’t speak. knelt on the ground to address him at eye level. “I know you may not like Simeon befriending demons, but that’s his choice to make. You have to let him make it, just like he lets you choose how your relationship with demons is. He only suggested you talk to Barbatos. He didn’t force you to or try to guilt you into meeting with him.”
 Luke stayed silent for a moment longer, taking in Cass’s words. “You’re right. I’m sorry, Beelzebub.”
“Oh, um, that’s alright. If you still want to, you can stay in my room with Cass.” Beel pulled something from the side table next to him and handed it to look. Luke gave it a caution look, glancing at Beel and then Cass. “It’s not weird or anything, it’s just Hibiscus Pomegranate juice. Sweets calm me down when I’m upset sometimes.”
“Why are you being so nice to me?”
Beel’s face grew somber as he answered Luke with a sincerity that made Cass nervous. “You once gave me cake.”
Cass blinked. Did he just say Luke gave him cake? She knew he was always pretty serious when it came to food, but this seemed over the top. He had said it like Luke asked him to swear on his life. Luke’s shocked expression matched her own.
“What?”
“You gave me a cake once and this is how I can say thank you.”
“You’re right Luke, I don’t think staying in a room with a demon as devious and ghastly as Beel is safe.” Luke scrunched up his face, trying not to say something rude again. “Wait, why can’t you stay at Purgatory Hall anyways? It’s not like Simeon would kick you out for not visiting the castle with him?”
“Because he doesn’t care at all! I could disappear and he wouldn’t bat an eye.”
“Oh, I get it. You’re jealous, aren’t you?” Beel asked, head tiling to the side as he assessed Luke.
“What, I, OF COURSE NOT,” Luke snapped, his face burning red with embarrassment. “I’m worried about him being corrupted. What would Michael think? When he refused to listen, I told him our friendship was over and strode right out of the dorm. I can’t just go crawling back.”
After Luke calmed down enough, he thanked Beel for letting him stay. Beel and Cass had to remind him several times to keep it down as Beel hadn’t checked with Lucifer that it was okay. Were it her room, Cass wouldn’t have cared if Lucifer knew or not, but Beel was adamant they had to keep it between them.
Keeping him hidden that night wasn’t difficult, especially because Lilith was able to give her a heads up if Lucifer was leaving his study. Bringing him dinner wasn’t too much harder. The challenge for that was making sure Beel didn’t eat everything on the walk from the kitchen or before Luke had anything.
The next morning, Luke still wasn’t ready to be around anyone, so Cass let him know she’d cover for him and promised to come back as soon as possible when classes let out. Fortunately, she was able to leave early as Diavolo had cancelled a meeting for the exchange students due to Luke’s absence.
After reminding Luke that he couldn’t just wander the halls, regardless of if the brothers were at class or not, she gave him some snacks she’d bought on the way back. Despite his grumbling about being bored, he didn’t seem to mind staying and watching a movie with Cass.
It was late when Beel returned. He barged into the room right as Luke finally fell asleep. He’d been nodding off for the last twenty minutes, head falling and snapping back up as he forced himself to stay awake. Lucky for them, he was drowsy enough that he didn’t audibly react to Beel’s entrance.
“You have to hide. Lucifer’s doing a surprise inspection.”
“A what?” Luke and Cass asked at the same time.
“You know, when Lucifer checks our rooms?” Beel looked at Cass, equally confused by her reaction.
“No, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Aren’t you like thousands of years old? Why do you have room checks?”
“We didn’t used to but then everyone kept causing trouble, so now Lucifer does random checks.” Luke, who had been searching for a hiding spot started crawling under the bed. “No, that’s too obvious. Once he found a witch disguised as a spider in Asmo’s room.”
“Well, where’s not obvious?”
Before Beel had time to answer, there were two knocks on the door. He opened the closet door and shoved Luke inside. The door latched the same moment Lucifer entered. Cass took a sip of her tea, trying to act natural.
“Evening, Lucifer, to what do we owe the pleasure?”
“I’m just here to do a room check.”
“Seems like a bit of an invasion of privacy, but it’s your home.”
Lucifer’s gaze didn’t waver, not that it mattered. Cass had become accustomed to the icy stare and was hardly phased by it. She turned her attention to the movie that was still playing, hoping to convince him that things were normal, but she never knew. She still couldn’t read him.
“Care to share why everyone seems to believe you’re hiding a dog in your room, Beel?” Beel shook his head, not trusting himself to speak. “Cass?”
Cass pretended to think about it, eyes not leaving the screen. “I mean, it could be so many reasons. First thing that comes to mind, they’re jealous of my funky fresh dance moves.” Even without seeing his face, she could tell he was getting angrier.
“Open your closet door, Beel.”
“It’s just dirty laundry, it probably –”
“It wasn’t a request.”
Beel nodded, opening the door. She was certain he wasn’t doing it on purpose, but it really felt like he was opening the door as slowly as possible, as if to create more tension, something the room definitely did not need. Lucifer inspected the shockingly Luke-less closet before narrowing his eyes.
“Told you,” Cass released the breath she’d holding. “But I don’t blame you. It’s hard to believe how good I am until you see it for yourself.”
Lucifer rolled his eyes before leaving without a word. Beel and Cass stared at each other in shock before approaching the closet. Beel moved some things around, but it was clear that Luke was no longer in there.
“What the fuck?” Cass slipped into the closet check for a secret door or something that could explain his disappearance.
“I don’t know. Wait, let me try something.” Cass turned around in time to see the door shut. She stood in the dark closet in disbelief. “Cass? Are you still there?” Beel’s voice was barely above a whisper. Fucking demons.
“No, Beel, I’m back in the human realm.” He opened the door with a discouraged face. “Sorry, it wasn’t that bad of an idea. It’s just, how did we lose an angel?”
---
Cass flew down the stairs into the entry way as Beel came in from the living room. They’d been searching for Luke, and trying not to alert Lucifer to their search, for the last four hours. They had searched every room multiple times and nothing.
“Is there somewhere else he could go?” Cass whispered. “A creepy basement? Dungeon? A gazebo?”
“No! We’ve searched every room.”
“Okay, okay, this is fine. This is fine. I mean, there’s a lot of angels, right?” Beel nodded. “They probably wouldn’t even notice Luke was gone, right?” Beel shook his head. “Maybe we can give them Alana.”
Cass sighed and started pacing as Beel talked to himself about what could have happened. Her messages weren’t going through, and calls weren’t connecting, so Luke hadn’t gone back to Purgatory Hall or anywhere else with service. Not to mention, she knew Luke wouldn’t have disappeared without a word.
“Wait a minute,” Cass whispered and, without explaining, started running towards the parlor.
Why hadn’t she thought of it sooner? There was a scale model of the House of Lamentation in that room. She’d asked Lucifer about it when she first arrived. Apparently, it had been created as a dollhouse for the daughter of the family who originally lived in the house. If there was some room they hadn’t checked, it’d have to be there.
Cass skidded to a stop in front of the model, scanning over it as she tried to find a room or clue to Luke’s disappearance. There it was. A room she’d never seen before. It made sense where it was, right across from the attic currently holding Belphegor.
From the first time she followed his voice, she couldn’t figure out why there was nothing at the end of that hall. Turns out, it was because there was a hidden room. Well, two hidden rooms if she counted the now converted attic.
Without telling Beel why she was running around, she grabbed his arm and pulled him with her to the missing room. Supposedly, it was across from the attic. There wasn’t anything there though, no bookshelf, portrait, or fake wall.
There were slight differences in the wallpaper markings halfway up the wall. They were faint, the color difference between the markings and the rest of the wallpaper marginal at best. It was a quote in a foreign language. She mumbled the words under her breath, no idea what language she was reading.
“When the sun of morning graced the heavens, his light shone down upon this one, the eighth of the eight?”
“Cass, how can you read that?”
“What?” Cass looked at Beel, his face unreadable.
“That’s written in the language of angels.”
Cass didn’t answer, unsure how she could read it. She hadn’t even known what it was. “I have no idea. I mean, I don’t know if it actually says that.”
“Well, it’s not a perfect translation. It’s Morning Star, not sun of morning. That’s another name for Lucifer and eighth of the eight is –”
 “Lilith.” They said her name at the same time. Beel’s eyes widened in surprise, not from the result of answering the riddle, but at Cass’s answer. He stared at her in wonder as a door materialized before them. Pushing it open, she said a silent prayer to whoever was listening that Luke was there
“This is,” Beel fell silent when they walked in.
While Luke was nowhere to be seen, Cass felt pulled into the room. Three large windows took up the entirety of the far wall. For the first time in her memory, she was seeing sunlight. Cass held her hand up, letting out a shaky laugh. It was so warm. She’d forgotten what sunlight was like. Heaven.
“This is Lilith’s room from the Celestial Realm. I don’t know how it’s here, but I know this is hers.”
Beel didn’t continue, his eyes glossing over as he took in his surroundings. This was the first time he was seeing anything of his sister’s since she died. The look on his face was the same one Lilith wore when she’d told Cass about falling.
“I didn’t save her. I watched her wing get pierced by an arrow. I watched her fall to her death. I didn’t save her.”
“Beel?” Her heart broke at the regret, the sorrow, the sheer hopelessness of his voice.
“I couldn’t save them both. They aimed at Belphie and Lilith at the same time. I could only get to one of them. Belphie’s eyes met mine and I shielded him from the attack without a second thought. I didn’t save her. I couldn’t save her!
“Everyone always says that I did nothing wrong, that I couldn’t help it. But, none of them were there. They didn’t see her. I did. I’ll never forget the look of despair when she fell. Belphie won’t ever say it, but I think he blames me for choosing him. He wanted me to save her, and I didn’t.”
Cass wouldn’t have spoken if she had wanted to, knowing nothing she said mattered at the moment. Once again, the words Mammon had whispered came to mind. I’m so sick of people I care about blaming themselves when it’s not their fault.
“What would you have done?” Beel asked. “Who would you have saved?”
“I don’t know. I can’t even pretend to imagine what you went through. I can’t know how I would react. I’m so, so sorry that you do know,” she paused, debating to add the last part that had come to her mind. “And I’m sorry that you have to carry that knowledge with you.”
Lilith had asked her to save them, but the closer she got to the brothers, the less possible it seemed. Yet, the closer she got, the more she wanted to do just that. How do you help someone when you don’t even know how they’re hurt?
Her phone rang before either of them said another word. She had several texts from Mammon telling her to get to the underground tomb as soon as possible. Underground tomb? Why hadn’t Beel mentioned that when she asked if there was anywhere else to look? Had he looked there?
She put the call on speaker. “Mammon?”
“About time ya answered! Luke’s down here and I think Lucifer might try killin’ him.”
---
Cass and Beel burst through the door to the tomb, rushing to Luke’s side. Lucifer towered over his shaking form. He was backed against one of the stone pillars, clutching an old leather book. The same black wings that had once brought her safety and comfort were striking fear in the angel.
“Do you have any idea what it is you’re holding?” The question came out like venom.
“No-o. I, it, it was on that coffin and,” Luke’s voice trembled as he pointed at a stone coffin. A stone sculpture of roses with a place to place the book sat on the lid.
“It’s a grimoire,” Beel explained as Mammon tried calming Lucifer down. “You can use them to control a demon even without a pact.”
“Is it one of ours?” Levi asked. “I didn’t even know Lucifer kept them down here.”
“I didn’t know what it was!” Luke yelled. “I don’t even know how I got here. I was in Beel’s room and sudd–”
The dark aura Cass felt when she’d first arrived grew. It was overtaking the entire tomb now. “BEELZEBUB?” Lucifer’s voice sounded more like a growl at that point. “Is it true you allowed this angel access to the House of Lamentation. This angel who plotted to steal that grimoire?”
As seemed to be the norm, Cass moved without thinking. No one even processed that she was moving in time to try and stop her from nearing Lucifer. She stopped, putting herself in his path to Luke. As she stood before Lucifer, on the brink of transforming completely, she wondered if this was how a young Nestor or David felt as they faced their giants.
“This is between Beelzebub, Luke, and me. Step aside if you don’t want to die, human.”
“No.”
Cass didn’t break eye contact. The air around Lucifer was turning darker, threatening to encircle her, then, it vanished. It was as if a wall had been put between them. Except this time, she knew what it was. The same content feeling she’d gotten in Lilith’s room when seeing the light.
That’s when Cass realized the reason the brothers seemed worse when they weren’t at the House of Lamentation. It was Lilith. She was bound to the house and couldn’t help when Cass was away. From her first day, Lilith had been protecting her. She was Cass’s divine aid.
“How insolent can you be? Are you really willing to risk your life to defend a demon and an angel?” Cass didn’t falter. “Then choose one.”
“No.”
“Excuse me?” She could tell the others were saying something but could only imagine what they were saying. All of her energy was put into standing her ground and keeping her head high “You are nothing more than some lowly human. I was merely entertaining you, there is no third option. As if I’d give you that control.”
“I’m not choosing between them. Could you live with yourself with either choice? Do you think your brothers would ever forgive you for murdering Beel? Or would you rather kill Luke and ruin Diavolo’s precious exchange program? How do you think you would fare disappointing the being that is able to keep Pride Incarnate subservient?”
