He gets jealous of your friend
Characters: atsumu, sakusa, kuroo, tendou
Summary: your boyfriend feels a bit left out whenever your best friend comes into the picture
Tumblr media
』 ATSUMU
Probably the most obvious about his jealousy
Feels like every time your bestie shows up he’s second place :(
Doesn’t even try to hide it he complains to your face
Your friend definitely amps up the affection to annoy him
Atsumu huffed loudly as your best friend arrived at the park. He turned his back to them ready to flop into your lap when suddenly you were standing and running away from the picnic blanket.
“Y/N!!!!”
“B/F/N!!!!” You fell into a fit of giggles as the two of you collided in a hug. Leading them to the blanket, you sat between them and your boyfriend.
“Why dontcha hug me like that doll?” Atsumu whined as he pulled you closer to him while glaring at your friend.
You turned to him, eyebrow raised, “we live together tsumu, I hug you all the time.” You offered him a bite of the cookie in your hand, “and you could hug me like that, yet you don’t.” He accepted your cookie, pout still etched on his face.
While you were distracted by your phone, b/f/n sent atsumu a smug smile and picked up a strawberry. They poked you on the thigh, “hey, y/n,” you looked up at them curiously, “the strawberries are so sweet, open your mouth and I’ll feed you this one.” Smiling you leaned over and let them feed you the strawberry.
Atsumu was glaring holes into their head, “jeez b/f/n, don’t ya got yer own s/o to feed huh?”
You and your best friend let out a laugh at his blatant jealousy. “See y/n, I told you he was jealous of me, you owe me $20” Rolling your eyes you took out your wallet, slapping the money in their hands.
Turning to your gawking boyfriend, you sighed, “couldn’t you at least be subtle about it.” He sputtered out nonsense, face turning red, you waved him off. “And you,” you glared at you friend who was still laughing, “feeding me is basically cheating, we both know that was gonna set him off”
Your boyfriend draped his chin on your shoulder, “doll yer not playin fair” he whined. “Why would ya play wit my emotions like that”
Running your hand over his cheek you placed a kiss on the top of his head, “it’s funny to watch because you know b/f/n and I are only friends.” You tilt his chin up to place a chaste kiss on his lips, “you’re the one I’m dating dummy, I love you”
The grin that you love so much returned to his face as he kissed you again, “I love ya too, even though yer mean.” You rolled your eyes and flicked his forehead, your best friend made gagging noises from their side of the blanket.
』 Sakusa
The hardest to tell he’s jealous
Doesn’t want you to know, he thinks it’s embarrassing
Gets upset when you ignore him for your bff
Literally will deny it to the day he dies
You had been texting your best friend for the past hour and a half. There was drama going on in your friend group and the two of you were going from the group chat to sharing your opinions with each other. Normally this wouldn’t have been an issue, but unlike most Friday nights, your boyfriend was home.
Sakusa was sitting on the bed next to you, he had been silent ever since you started tapping constantly at your phone. MSBY practice had been cancelled and he had been looking forward to spending the day with you. Which he technically was, but not in the way he wanted.
His eyes left the show he had put on as you let out a gasp and the tapping increased in speed. He wanted to lay on your lap and have you run your hand through his curls, but he couldn’t be certain you would stop texting to indulge him. He let out a soft sigh, “are you and b/f/n still going?” You nodded without looking up at him. His lips moved into a slight pout as he turned back to the tv, “oh.”
He startled as you let out a sudden string of giggles. Tilting your head up at him in what felt like the first time you showed him your screen, “look what b/f/n just said, they’re so funny I love them.”
He starred blankly at your screen, “yeah, they’re hilarious.” Lips pursed he pointedly looked away from you, to the tv. Sakusa was incredibly annoyed that you had ignored him for so long only to speak to him when complimenting your best friend.
You texted your friend you were gonna dip for a bit. Turn your phone off you looked at the grumpy man next to you. “Omi what’s got your boxers in a bunch?”
“Me and my boxers are just fine y/n.”
“Omg omi, your pants are on fire!!” You snickered as he gave you a deadpan state.
He rolled his eyes at you and crossed his arms, “there’s nothing wrong, go back to your texting.”
That’s when it clicked for you, he was jealous of the attention you were giving to your friend. Cooing lightly, you reached for him, pulling him down on top of you. “I’m sorry for ignoring you baby, there’s no need to be jealous.”
He huffed and pulled your hand towards his hair, snuggling into you as you began playing with it, “‘m not jealous, that’s a stupid suggestion.”
You smiled down at your boyfriend knowing that you were absolutely right.
』 Kuroo
Another obvious one, but not as whiney as Atsumu
Tries to impress you to get your attention
Will embarrass you with his attempts to prove he’s better
Your friend doesn’t know if they should be amused or embarrassed
You and Kuroo had been invited out to watch your best friend play a gig at your local bar. They’re band had landed they’re first performance and you had been excited to support them.
Running up to the stage, you waved eagerly at you friend. They smiled and and reached a hand down to pull you up on the stage. You gave a friendly greeting to the other band mates before giving your friend a bear hug.
“B/f/n I’m so happy for you!!! This is sooo cool.” At this point you were gushing and singing their praises. Your friend matched your enthusiasm walking you around the stage and explaining the set up.
Your boyfriend huffed from the bottom of the stage as you and your friend walked back over. He reached for your hand to help you off and pull you back towards him. “Congrats on the gig b/f/n, can I have my s/o back now?”
Rolling their eyes they turned to you, “hey, cheer extra loud when we play your song.” They smiled as you nodded eagerly. “There now you can take your precious s/o,” b/f/n gave Kuroo a smug smile before heading back to their band mates.
“You know if you wanted a song I can serenade you at karaoke when their set is over.”
Eyes widening you ignored his suggestion before pulling Kuroo over to the table that had been reserved for you. Sure you loved him, but he couldn’t sing for shit.
The performance was going great, then the music changed and you squealed recognizing it as your favourite. Kuroo glanced over at you as you grinned and waved up at b/f/n. What was so great about them? So what they were in a band, you played this song enough he knew all the words. If you wanted it sung to you he could do it.
And do it he did.
You looked up at your boyfriend as he stood from his seat, “babe what are you doing?” The only response he gave you was a lazy smile before he started belting out the lyrics to your favourite song, terribly off pitch and loudly.
B/f/n stifled a laugh at the scene as you glared daggers at them and your boyfriend. Kuroo kept singing his heart out as you face planted into the table, praying the lights were dim enough that no one would be able to see you. After what felt like an eternity the song finished and Kuroo sat back down next to you.
“See, wasn’t that better than whatever b/f/n had going on up there. I’ll sing for you whenever you want baby.” He slung his arm over you shoulder looking very pleased with himself.
You peaked out at him from your arms, “Who lied to you and told you that you were the next Micheal Jackson?” He whined in protest as you continued, “Out of all the ways to process your jealousy you do this.” Waving a quick goodbye to your friend, you dragged Kuroo out of the bar and headed home.
』 Tendou
Not vocal about it but you can see it in his body language
Would hate for you to think that he wants to control who you hang out with
Once you realize he’ll reluctantly admit to it but feels bad
Just needs some reassurance
Tendou sighed as he watched your story again. It was of you and your best friend at the club for their birthday, an outing which you had excitedly rambled to him about for the past few days. He knows that he shouldn’t be bothered, the two of you have been friends for longer than he’s known you. But that doesn’t help the pit in his stomach seeing you dancing on them.
The sinking feeling hasn’t left him since your best friend had arrived at the door and whisked you away with little more than a quick acknowledgment. The both of you in coordinating outfits, telling him not to wait up.
You love him, he knows that, yet his heart squeezes terribly at every new addition to your story. He shook the thought from his mind and turned his phone off, dropping his head into his hands. He was being ridiculous, if you wanted to date your best friend you wouldn’t have moved in with him.
As he wallowed in self doubt, he missed the sound of the door opening as you slipped into your apartment quietly, to ensure you wouldn’t wake him if he was asleep. You were shocked to see your boyfriend on the couch gripping his hair. “‘Tori?” you approach him carefully, “what happened sweetheart?”
He tensed suddenly before looking up at you with a shaky smile, “hi love, how was the club?” He reached out and grabbed your hands.
You fixed him with a stern look, “satori, you can’t lie to me.” Hands still intertwined, you reached up to cup his cheek, stroking it with your thumb. “What’s going on in that brain of yours?”
Sighing he closed his eyes and leaned into your hand. He was silent for a moment before speaking softly, “it’s stupid,” you shook your head and smiled up at him, giving him the confidence to continue, “I dunno... I just- felt kinda upset seeing you have so much fun with b/f/n. You guys are just friends and you love me, I know that, but you always just look so happy with them and I don’t know if I make you feel like that.”
You looked at him for a minute before peppering kisses on his face, “I love you both but I would rather eat dirt than date that idiot, we’re so close they’re like a sibling to me.” He gave you a watery smile as you continued, “and you can ask b/f/n yourself if you don’t believe me, but you make me so happy. You’re literally my favourite person ever.”
He tackled you onto the couch with a hug, “you’re my favourite person ever too y/n!!”
You laughed, running your hands through his hair, “you wanna cuddle and watch a movie?” He nodded enthusiastically as you handed him the remote, placing a kiss on his hair.
Tumblr media
This is my first preference so hoping it’s okay. As someone who had an ex be jealous of my best friend I thought this would be fun to write.
Have a wonderful day!!!

O Christmas tree.
Henry Cavill x Single mother/Reader.
Words: 705
You were looking for a perfect Christmas tree but you have found the perfect man.
It is finally December, and your little son Nathan couldn’t be happier to go on a hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. Being freshly divorced it was important to you to have these magical moments with your little one. Especially now when he needs to feel you are there for him.
Hunting for the Christmas tree was easy. You have talked to Nathan before and agreed to take 6ft tall, natural Pine tree. You were talking to the owner of the farm when he can deliver the tree not realizing that your son had a small talk with a stranger.
“Excuse me Witcher, I think this tree is too small for you.”
Henry looked down, chuckled seeing 6-year-old boy with quite a serious face.
“Do you think so, little man? Aren’t you too little to know who the Witcher is?”
“My mummy won’t let me see your show but I‘ve seen the poster with your face. Mummy reads me the books sometimes. She is the best. I like Superman too, but the Witcher is sooo cool”
You have heard that your son is talking to the stranger, not knowing who this handsome man is. Gently, you took your son’s hand and apologized to the man for Nathan’s interference.
“I am sorry, he usually doesn’t bother people.”
“No problem at all. He gave me good advice to take a bigger tree. You have raised a very smart little man. “
“Thank you, Sir.” You felt your cheeks burning recognizing the handsome man.  You have read way too many smuts about him.
“I am Henry, not Sir, I am too young for that.” Henry smiled blushed, shy and completely fascinated by your beauty.
“I am Y/N and this is Nathan. I am sorry but we need to go. I hope you will listen to my son’s advice and get a bigger tree. That one is way too small. “
“I will definitely get a bigger tree now, my dog will eat that one for breakfast.”
Henry stood in the same spot for a few minutes watching you walk away. He could not believe how beautiful you are. He was a little bit sad, thinking you have probably had a husband. On the other hand,  he hadn’t spotted a wedding ring on your finger…
Meantime, You and little Nathan were waiting for the taxi at the pick-up point. Your car broke and your ex supposed to pick you up, but he wasn’t answering his phone. It was getting colder and darker. Nathan was getting tired too. You hold Nathan in your arms, praying the taxi will arrive soon. You couldn’t believe what are the odds to meet your celebrity crush on the Christmas tree farm. He was so handsome, tall, and his smile… Your thoughts were interrupted by your son's excited voice. Henry exit the farm and walked in your direction.
“Witcher, Witcher we need your magic, can you fix our car?  We need to get home, but my dad doesn’t live with us anymore, he can’t do it.” Your heart broke hearing your son's sad statement.
“Nathan, sweetheart we can’t ask that. I am sure Henry is busy.”
“Actually, I am not busy. I can take you home, but first I will need to get a hot chocolate, I am too cold.  Would you like to join me? “Henry looked directly at you hoping you will make his dreams come true. He knew now that you weren’t married and probably not in the relationship. He couldn’t let you go.
“Yes! I want chocolate! “Nathan cheered happily.
“Thank you for the offer. Are you sure though? We don’t want to intrude…” you answered shyly, not believing what is happening.
“Nonsense, I could use some company.” Ladies first…” Henry showed you the way to his car being a gentleman as always. The drive went smoothly, wasn’t awkward at all, it was like you and Henry knew each other for a long time. Henry might have been the gentleman from the outside but from inside, he started having dirty thoughts, wondering how you would look underneath him.
Once you have reached your destination, Nathan was already asleep in the backseat. Henry took the chocolate on the go and you guys spend a wonderful date in the car.

lee taeyong x reader
description. I liked Lee Taeyong. A lot. And with every book I gave him, whatever purposes, I hid a love letter in between its pages. After all this time, I still wonder if Taeyong has yet to read even one of them.
Tsundoku— buying books and not reading them; letting books pile up unread on shelves, floors, or nightstands.
genre. fluff, angst, love letters!au, friends to lovers!au, one-sided love! au, bartender!taeyong, university student!reader
word count. 12.4k~
warnings. none!
a/n. was randomly scrolling through printerest when i found this word and suddenly this idea popped up in my headd. i had to change the meaning of the word so tha itll fit the story line better but the overall meaning is the same sooo. anyways that’s all i got for you now please enjoyy!
Tumblr media
Books. An interest both Taeyong and I shared since college. Though our interest laid in the same object, our uses for it were far from the same. For me, it’s for reading. Like how it should be used, its main purpose. Like any other bookworm, constantly having my head shoved in romance or fantasy novels. Taeyong on the other hand, he... he uses it as decoration. Something that to him, should be kept on shelves, unread for display purposes.
I got to find out quite quickly that it was a habit for him to collect books that had nice spines just so he could place them on his shelves. I’ve been to his home once. One entire wall was just shelves filled with books. It was aesthetically pleasing indeed, but it disappointed me that he didn’t even bother to read a single one. So we made an agreement that I’d read his books. If he were to buy a new one, he’d let me read it first before tucking it away to never be pulled out again. I guess that’s why my friendship with him worked so well.
Taeyong decided to work as a bartender after college while I, went to pursue my studies with university. Should say that I regretted that on-impulse decision of mine nowadays.
It’s Friday. I just got out of university, at one in the morning. What an ungodly hour, considering that my classes started at nine this morning. I agreed to meet Taeyong at his bar. Luckily for me, the distance between school and the bar wasn’t far. Taeyong took me as a factor into consideration while trying out jobs around the school’s area, just so he’d get to meet me more often. That, was one of the million reasons why I fell for him.
I dragged my feet across the side walk, the screeching of my boots scraping against the rough surface. As much as I tried to hold up my posture during my long trip there (it felt like I’ve been walking forever when really, it has only been ten minutes), my back slowly slouched with each step till I was fully slouching. The extremely poor and back paining kind. Can’t blame me. University is mentally draining, but physically as well, having to walk to different classes constantly that’s being situated on opposite ends of the facility. It’s a workout.
I looked up to take a breather, seeing the glowing sign above the bar. I gazed down, to the glass windows, noticing how there was a lot of people in there. Well, it’s a Friday night afterall. I placed my free hand onto the door’s handle, pushing it open and entering.
Classical music played in the background. People’s murmurs could be heard as they had their own conversations. The place was dimly lit with an orange hue; a calming atmosphere. I went right up to the bar, getting on an empty cushioned stool and adjusting my butt onto it. I looked around the area. Taeyong wasn’t to be seen. I only assumed that he was making drinks.
I took out my book from my tote bag, flipping to the page where I folded it’s edge to continue where I left off. I was already two third done with it. And I was determined to finish it by Monday just so that I could get a new book to read.
My head was faced down, eyes scanning each sentence as I blocked out the entire world, putting myself in my own little bubble as I imagined myself in the story’s plot, too immersed to give a single care for my surroundings.
Suddenly, a hand appeared beside me, tapping its knuckles against the wood to get my attention. I lifted my eyes up, seeing Taeyong standing in front of me. White button up shirt, three buttons unhooked, revealing the slightest bit of his collarbones in a way to tease you and having the urge to see them fully. Black dress pants with a belt that cinched on his waist, framing his lower body beautifully.
“Literally called you from two steps away and you didn’t hear any of it.” Taeyong leaned against the counter, elbows supporting him as his face got close to mine. “I was busy.” I said, lifting up my book slightly. “You done with that? I need to put a new book on the shelve soon. It bugs me that there’s an empty spot.” Taeyong shivered as he mentioned that, making me chuckle softly.
“By Monday, I promise.”
“Need anything to drink? You look worn out.” Taeyong eyed me up and down. I probably looked terrible since Taeyong scrunched up his nose and shook his head. “You know I don’t drink. I mean I can, but it’s still the school term. I can’t afford getting off track by anything.”
Taeyong breathed a short laugh in response. “Ah of course. Didn’t you say you wanted to dropout just yesterday?” Taeyong looked up for a moment before bringing his eyes back down on me with a teasing gaze. My mind went back to yesterday when I texted Taeyong a long ranting paragraph about how stressed I was this week. I frowned. “Should I?”
Taeyong bobbed his shoulder. “It’s up to you. But I sincerely think you should. I mean look at you.” He added a light scoff at the end, his hand going up and down in front of me. “I’m just worried.” He proceeded to shift his weight form one leg to the other, sliding his fingers into the pocket of his pants. I felt his sense of sincerity, invariably imbued. Another reason why I fell for him. He’s always caring, too caring for his own good, especially towards me.
“Will think about it.” I mumbled, taking note of my book’s page number since I was too lazy to fold it before closing and shoving it back into my tote bag. “Anyways, when are you getting off work?”
Taeyong turned around to grab something. I realised it was his wallet and phone as he shoved the wallet into his back pocket and kept his phone in his hand. “Right now.” He flashed his smile. The signature smile. One he has on ninety percent of the time, at least around me. It was unique. A smile that only suited him and not anyone else. He owned it . Like he should. Yet another reason why I fell for him.
I got off the stool as he went around the counter that had the space in between for staffs to pass through. “Want me to drive?” He asked as we made our way to the door. I shook my head. “You had a long day. Just go home.” I kindly rejected. I bowed my head as he opened the door for me. A gentleman; adding onto the long list.
“You had an even longer one. I don’t care. It’s late too. I can’t let you walk home alone.” I laughed weakly, waiting for him outside as he closed the door. As we make our way to Taeyong’s car, he whispered, “Sleep straight when you get home, okay?” He opened the car door for me. I nodded, “Yes father.” I dragged on.
The car ride home was silent. Completely silent. There wasn’t even music playing in the background. I had my eyes fixed on the view out of the window, too scared to look at Taeyong as I can’t bare to look at him long enough before I melt on sight.
My apartment came to view after the many trees and street lights we drove past. The car pulled to a halt and I turned to Taeyong, who was suddenly up close to me, one hand looming over my chest as he reached for the seatbelt. I possibly stopped breathing. His eyes looked into mine, expressionless. I couldn’t even blink I was that shocked. “Sorry. I thought you were sleeping.”
Taeyong pulled back to his seat. I exhaled sharply. I looked to the seatbelt. He didn’t unbuckle it. I huffed quietly and did it myself, sliding my tote bag onto my shoulder. “Remember. Sleep right away.” He advised a second time as I make my way out of the car, slamming the car door shut.
Before I turned around, he rolled down the window, leaning forward slightly. “And my book!” He shouted. I placed two fingers up my head and pointed it back at it as a way to say, “Yes sir.” Before swirling around and walking away, his car’s engine starting up and driving away. The noise was quick to get muffled and go away as he drove further out of the neighborhood.
The hours of studying I had to do at home went by quick. Before I even knew it, I didn’t sleep that night at all. Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to Taeyong. I had assignments to complete by Monday for God’s sake. I’ve come to terms with the fact that the number of times I’ve pulled all-nighters are now inhumane.
I checked the time on my clock. 5:05AM. I sighed, looking across my study table that’s pilled with worksheets and my opened laptop. I nodded my head as I made the mental decision of finally cleaning up as I rechecked to see if I’ve left any work undone before beginning to stack the papers and shoving them into my tote bag. The only thing left on the table was a stack of decorative papers, with beautiful outlines of red roses around the edges.
I slid one paper off the stack, placing it in front of me. I grabbed a random pen from my organiser, clicking it as I swirled it around, trying to figure out what to write.
Hey taeyong. This is my 127th love letter, confession letter, whatever you would call it. I’m not sure if you’ve read any of them. My last note was in ‘It Ends with Us’. I find that you aren’t giving any reaction or anything. I know you don’t read the books but do you even bother flipping through its pages for the letter to fall out? I’m still hoping you’d at least open this one. Please. I’ve been waiting for ages. For you. I like you, Lee Taeyong, for the 127th time.
I placed my pen back to where it belonged before holding the note in my hand, lifting it up to my face. I bit my bottom lip before opening my book, randomly opening a page and placing the note in, making sure it’s secured before putting that into my tote bag as well. Too lazy to even get into my bed, I fell asleep uncomfortably at the table.
It was now Sunday. I almost forgot the fact that I’m meeting Taeyong today to pass him the book, which to be honest, I didn’t finish. The book was boring. It was like those books that you force yourself through so you wouldn’t feel the regret of buying it. Though I used Taeyong’s money, I still felt bad for leaving it unread. I wasn’t like Taeyong at least.
While thumbing through my closet to find something to wear after showering, my eyes stopped at the sweater that Taeyong borrowed me not too long ago because I was dumb enough to meet him at two in the morning without a jacket. I was frozen stiff due to the cold.
Absentmindedly, I took it off its hanger and brought it close to my chest, dipping my head down as I deeply inhaled, Taeyong’s scent was still on there. I put it on and continued getting ready.
Just when I was done placing my valuables in my sling bag, the doorbell rang. Thinking it was the mailman, I rushed to the door with immense speed. I opened the door forcefully. But instead of the mailman, I was met with Taeyong standing in front of me. We locked eyes for a split second, which made my heart leap. I then eyed him up and down. He was wearing his usual all black outfit. Shirt, jeans, and boots. I liked how the plain and simple outfit was able to cup his body well, accentuate all his body features. It always made me swoon for him.
“What are you doing here?” I noticed how Taeyong kept eyeing his sweater that’s on me despite his attempts at trying to remain eye contact with me. “I thought of just letting you give me the book now and spend the day here. Can I?” No wonder he wore a regular outfit.
“So I dressed up for nothing?” I feigned my exasperation, folding my arms as I cocked an eyebrow, huffing ever so softly. Taeyong followed my poster one on one. “And wearing my sweater is called dressing up? How lovely.” It was now his turn to fire back, which made me frown. “Whatever.” I gave in, turning around to head back to my room.
I heard the door closing as Taeyong’s footsteps were quick to follow closely behind, maybe due to the large steps he took with his long legs. As I entered my room, Taeyong lets out a hum of satisfaction. “Your shelve’s looking good. More full than last time.” He complimented. I took a seat at the study table as he made his way to seat at the edge of my bed. “Mhm.” I softly answered.
With the remembrance of what he came here for, I grabbed my tote bag and fished out for the book. I then toss it onto the bed beside Taeyong, not speaking a word as I jerked my head to it. “Thanks. You read fast.” Taeyong held the book in his hand. Open it, open it. Oh God why can’t he just find the damn note I placed there?
“No I don’t. It’s just that the book was extremely boring for my liking.” I stated, matter-of-factly. Taeyong examined the book, quickly turning it over to read the synopsis. “Ew.” He mumbled.
“It was only good at first. The ending sucked.” I added on to my complains. “By the way...” Taeyong trailed on. I wonder what he wanted to ask. Was it something about the book? About the notes?
“I’ve been thinking I should read one of the books.” I folded my arms with arrogance, slouching into the chair as I tilted my head, the side of my lip lifted up slightly. “So after more than four years I was able to reel you in to read your first book?” I questioned, sounding smug.
Taeyong let out an annoyed ‘tsk’. “I find ‘If I never met you’ interesting, okay? Let me be.” Taeyong pouted and folded his arms, turning his head away from my direction. I stood up, walking to the bed and plopping myself down which made the two of us bounce up and down of a moment. “It’s cute how you’re a newbie to reading.” I made up an excuse when really what I found cute was how Taeyong acted. It made me blush a bright pink. It was probably extremely noticeable when Taeyong suddenly mentioned, “Did I make you so proud that you’re now blushing?” Taeyong teased, a giggle following after.
“Oh shut up.”
Lee Taeyong. This is the 128th letter. I still remember the first one I wrote. Feeling so hopeful and acting like a little girl that’s too shy to confess up front. I’m still like that. Yet to physically hint at you about my feelings. I can only express them like this, through notes that could all end up being meaningless if you’ve never looked at them. I’ll come by your house today. I’ll probably slide it in between books instead of pages. I long for your love, the kind that’s much more than that of a friend. I’ve been holding on for so long. Perhaps too long. But it’s okay, you’re Lee Taeyong. I won’t let the feelings I’ve bottled up for years go to waste. I’ll do something... soon. Yes, soon.
Later that day, I made my way to Taeyong’s house. I asked him to stay at home so that I could surprise him by coming over. But the reaction that I expected from him was way too predictable.
“You could’ve just told me to pick you up!” Taeyong whined. There he goes again being way too caring. Stop it. It’s hurting me.
“It’s not that troubling to travel, Yong. Calm the heck down! It’s really nothing.” I shouted back, reassurance being imbued into each word. He made way for me to enter. And as I did, I walked slowly, long strides to the living room where the large bookshelf was placed. The one that covered the entire wall. Well, almost, since he made space for the television. Other than that, it was just books surrounding it.
“Wait.” I turned around sharply. I realised that my sudden action made Taeyong stop in his tracks instantly. But he was close to me. Way too close for my own good. We stayed there for a moment, exchanging blank stares while I took the time to remember this moment; my heart stopping, his tall figure looming over me, his eyes looking into mine as if he’s trapping me in his gaze. Moments like these happen often. And I’d often take the time to remember them, shoving them into a mental folder called ‘Head over heels for TY’.
“Sit down. I’ll... get the cheesecake.” Taeyong was the first to back out, taking a step away from me and chuckling awkwardly. He quickly turned away after avoiding my eyes and rubbing the back of his neck. He looked nervous. But why? If I have seen it correctly, it looked like his cheeks were ever so slightly red as well. What even...
I shook my head vigorously, throwing those thoughts out of my mind. I sat down on the brown leather couch, leaning back and allowing my body to sink into it. Somehow, the thoughts crept back in. I thought about how what I observed just now could not have been real. It’s Lee Taeyong. Hundreds of girls are always hitting on him at the bar during his shift. He might even be seeing someone. Wait why am I even saying that to myself? I’d end up feeling jealous with no real reason. Great, you’re a dumb one indeed.
I felt Taeyong’s weight beside me. I looked up from the table, realising now that I was in a trance of my own thoughts, and to the cheesecake that he placed down. He leaned forward to cut a slice, placing it on a small plate as he placed the fork down beside it and handed it to me. “Here. Bought it especially for your brain recovery, and cravings. You’re period came, right?”
My eyes widened. My brows furrowed and got closer to each other as I backed my head away in surprise. “How’d you even know?” I asked shockingly. Taeyong lets out a chuckle, bringing his plate up and taking a bite. “I know you long enough to know that your period’s consistent and is usual around this time. But I was just taking my chances. I know you’d still eat the cheesecake either way.” Taeyong flashed a cheeky smile.
I knew he was extremely considerate towards me. He’d always advise me to take breaks, giving me a shoulder to lean on when I need rest, coming over to comfort me till sunrise whenever I texted him a ‘feel depressed lmao.’ He’s always on standby, ready to assist me when I need him, for whatever reason. Even if he wasn’t there, he was somehow able to choreograph his silent dance of support. But I never knew he was this meticulous to take note of my habits, my favourite food and even my period. He knew everything about me at the back of his hand. He really does make me feel some type of way. Perhaps a feeling far beyond love. An unknown feeling that only I could experience since it’s Taeyong. It’s always him. Always have been, and always will be.
I grabbed a big bite, scooping it in my mouth and moaning out dreamily, letting myself sink into the cheesecake and its flavours like a bath. “Fuck this is good. Where’d you get it?” I questioned with immense curiosity. I was genuinely curious. Because I’d love to get more.
Taeyong raised both his brows, his lips forming a thin line as he gave a slightly awkward or nervous cheeky smile. I couldn’t quite tell. “I made it.” He whispered. “No way!” I instantly take another bite, this time with Taeyong in mind. I mean, he already was from the moment he gave me the plate, but with now knowing that he was the one that made it? It suddenly tasted a thousand times better.
“Fucking bake more! Why haven’t I known that you can bake?!” I screamed with excitement. I finished the first slice, now on my way to tackle a second. Taeyong laughed hilariously at my reaction. “Is it that good? It’s my first time trying the recipe.”
“I know you cook like you’ve cooked for me many times but what the heck you should to do this more often. I’d eat it whole.” I squealed as I savoured the cheesecake’s flavours.
“If it’s for you then I’d gladly do it.”
Once again I felt the kindness and love through his voice and tone that’s ever so sweet and gentle. I’d imagine that this was how angels sounded like. Taeyong has always been able to put me at instant peace with just his words alone. Be it through the phone or in person. I always felt calm and protected.
It amazed me just what love could do to you. Everything they do now seemed perfect and beautiful, you blind yourself with their beauty and everything that’s good in them. In Taeyong’s case, I’ve never seen the bad side of him, shockingly enough. I’ve been friends with him for more than five years yet there wasn’t any argument between us that made a major impact on our relationship, if you don’t count those when I wouldn’t talk to him for only one day but we’d be able to act normal after.
We ended up spending the evening watching Netflix. We’ve been through two movies now. The cheesecake was now fully finished as well, down to its crumbs. “Want me to cook dinner?”
“I’m fine with anything.” I blinked my eyes once and a soft smile appeared on my lips. Taeyong hummed softly and nodded his head as he made his way to the kitchen, the sound of his slippers can be heard as he shuffled away.
I laid down on the couch, using my phone. A thought suddenly popped in my mind. I instantly peeked my head above the back rest, seeing Taeyong’s back in view as his body swayed slowly by the stove. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows. He ran a hand through his hair. How can a man look this... amazing. I can’t think of any other ways to describe Taeyong at that moment. Boyfriend material? Stunning? Breathtaking? All of the above.
As much as I wanted to stare at his figure, I had another agenda I had to accomplish before getting back to it. I rose from the couch, slowly and quietly, taking the note out of my sling bag. I walked up to the overwhelmingly large bookshelf. I scanned it carefully, trying to figure out where to place it.
“What are you doing?” I turned instantly at Taeyong’s voice. He was a few steps away from me, two plates of pasta in his hands. He turned around to place them on the table.
I took this chance to quickly slide the note into the shelve. One edge of the note was sticking out. Shit. It wasn’t obvious but it’s still there. I didn’t have any time to adjust it when Taeyong faced his body back to me.
“Just looking. The fact that I’ve read all these books... I’m such a bookworm for reading this much.”
“That’s what I like about you.” I was eyeing the pasta when Taeyong blurted that out. It was quick and soft, I couldn’t make out the words. I could only infer. “What?” I asked purposely, just to see if he’ll answer.
“It’s nothing.” Taeyong shoved a spoonful of pasta into his mouth, adverting his gaze on anything else but me.
I thought about how weird he was acting. It’s the first time I’m noticing that Taeyong’s been acting... wary, cautious of his every move around me. Just as I thought about how he’s clueless and delusional about my feelings for him, it could have been the same for me.

Luckily (Thank the Gods kind of lucky), classes ended early today. And Taeyong told me to meet him at his dance studio. For what reason? I wasn’t actually sure. I headed there, passing by the many other practice rooms till I saw the number that Taeyong told me. I opened the door, seeing Taeyong and two other guys I’m unfamiliar with. All of them turned their heads to me in unison, Taeyong blinding me with a bright smile while the others looked to each other with confusion.
“You came!” Taeyong squealed, running up to me and hugging my tightly. He was extremely sweating. I would try to push him away, but he probably wouldn’t let go and let me suffocate. Thankfully, he didn’t and pulled away, grabbing my wrist and dragging me to the other two guys.
“Ten, Mark. This is my friend, _____. I wanted her to come so that we’ll have an audience to show our piece.” Taeyong explained to them freely as he pointed to Ten and Mark respectively, an arm swung around my shoulders. I bowed my head amicably with a smile while they did the same. “You never told me you have a girlfriend, Taeyong.” Ten teased, lightly punching Taeyong’s chest. I couldn’t help but blush a light pink. I swallowed and looked up to him, who had a nervous and shy face on, which I didn’t expect at all.
“We’re best friends, please.” Taeyong denied, no hesitation whatsoever. In my head I wanted to frown but I had to keep a smile on.
“Hey, Ten. Wanna get Starbucks?” Mark suddenly asked, looking at him with a wicked grin as if he’s hinting to Ten about something. Ten was quick to respond, nodding his head with affirmation. “Yeah. I’m thirsty. You should just stay here with her. Need js to get anything?” Ten trailed on while the two of them began to take their wallets out of their bags that were at the back of the practice room.
“You guys are really going all the way to Starbucks that’s a fifteen minute walk from here?” Taeyong asked, extremely shocked. I did walk past Starbucks on my way here, and it is indeed extremely far. What the heck were they trying to do by leaving so abruptly?
“Eh it’s fine. Well we’ll leave you to it! Peace!” And just like that, Ten and Mark have left and it was now just me and Taeyong. The two of us turned to each other and chuckled at the same time. “Come on show me your dance!”
“It’s a duet that I’m doing with Ten. Can’t dance if he’s not here.” I looked up for a moment, thinking. “Dancer by day. Bartender by night. That’s Lee Taeyong.” I spread my hands out with jiggling my fingers as if showing a rainbow and mimicking stars. Taeyong laughed and shoved his hands into his pockets. “Broke university student by day, author by night. That’s _____.”
I looked at him weirdly, eyes narrowing at him as I furrowed my brows. “How am I an author?”
“Eh I just assume you’re one since you’re such a bookworm.” Taeyong fakely rolled his eyes but flashed a cheeky smile after. I smiled back and got closed to him, both hand resting on my hips as I rested my weight on one leg. “So what are we gonna do mister dancer?” I asked with the tone of a child, making me laugh after from how ridiculous I sounded.
Taeyong proceeded to take my tote bag off my shoulder, putting it off to the side with the other bags while he grabbed his phone and went to Spotify. “Let’s dance.” He suggested with confidence. He played a song. It’s one of my favourites. A song that didn’t make me think twice to bob my head to, which I instantly did. “I haven’t danced in years and you know that.”
Specifically, it was six years ago. I used to dance in highschool as extra curricular thing. But in college I started to dance less frequently, and my dance friends and I slowly grew distant. But I was okay with it. I mean, it’s life. The world still had to spin no matter the situation.
“Come on I know you have it in you. Just vibe.” Taeyong swayed his shoulders up and down slowly, grooving to the beat as his whole body began to work its magic, his dancing was at the level of professional ones. I never know why he didn’t want to pursue dance as a career and became a bartender instead.
I slowly moved my body in a weird way. Not dancing for years, your body is bound to be uncomfortable and you’d be looking weird as you move. Which was definitely me. Taeyong laughed at me, making me frown and stopped dancing. He huffed with a smile and held both my hands. Instantly, my legs and body moved in sync with his. It felt amazing dancing with Taeyong. It was fun and carefree. I could dance as stupidly as I want and even though Taeyong could pull off the best dance moves, he’d still choose to dance stupidly along with me. He was able to serve himself as a guidance as I found my groove and vibe that I didn’t have in me for a long time.
When the music stopped, Taeyong’s hands where on my waist, while I had mine on his arms. We turned to the mirror and giggled, throwing out heads back happily.
“You still got it.”

“Make sure to find the ones with pretty spines.”
Taeyong and I decided to head to bookstores today for our monthly book shopping. And while I was carefully reading the synopsis of books that had an interesting title, Taeyong was busy examining their cover pages and the aesthetics, mostly the spine.
“Have you started on the book you told me about?” I asked, flipping the book I just took out to its first chapter to get a feel of the writer’s writing style. “I have, actually.” My head shot to him instantly. He’s read the book. But I remembered putting the note in the back pages of the book. Has he reached there yet? “But I’m a slow reader. And busy. I’m only at the third chapter.”
As much as I was surprised about the fact that he’s speed in reading was extremely slower than what I would consider normal, I couldn’t blame him. He’s body with work most of the time and he has a life to live. Not to mention how it’s the first book he’s actually reading. This is a good example that the gap in terms of our reading abilities are definitely big.
“Liking it so far?” I asked. “Yeah.” Taeyong simply replied as he took a book off the display. “I’m getting this. And these as well.” He giggled like a happy child who’s buying a bunch of toys as birthday present from his parents. He lifted the books up slightly, fiddling around and trying to stack them properly while I closed the book that was in my hands. “I’m just buying this.”
“Seriously? Oh wait nevermind you’re a broke university student.” Taeyong taunted, rolling his eyes. My mouth opened slightly, faking my exasperated as I huffed loudly. “Okay mister bartender. You didn’t have to rub-”
“Oh my God. Taeyong?!”
In unison, the two of us turned around to the noise. A girl was running up to us. The moment she came, she didn’t hesitate to hug Taeyong around his torso. Taeyong chuckled, almost awkwardly and hugged her back.
I took a quick look at them. Their hug made a few things clear to me. One, she’s probably known him for a long time. But if she has, why didn’t Taeyong told me about her before? He shares all his secrets, I pretty much know him from A to Z. So why hasn’t he mention her before? Second, Taeyong was quick to reciprocate the hug, from his awkward form to a loving one. They looked like a couple that hasn’t seen each other in ages; a meaningful reunion.
I wasn’t exactly happy with where this was going. I didn’t like how in an instant, she could simply let herself be in such close proximity with him. I’ve never hugged Taeyong for that long at all. It made me feel a couple of things. Jealousy? Judgmental? Sudden hatred towards her? But why should I? It felt so invalid of me to feel these things.
“It’s been years, Taeyong.” She chuckled happily as they pulled apart. Finally. “Who’s she?” Her finger lifted up to me.
“A friend.” Taeyong answered. Of course, Why did I think I’d be any more than that? Just a friend. We’re just friends. Just.
While they were having a chat about who knows what, I wasn’t exactly paying attention since I simply assumed that it was to catch up with each other. I wondered off to another section of the store. After browsing through a few books, it was then I realised that they weren’t no longer in the store anymore when I got back. They left, Taeyong left. Without telling me. It was my fault for leaving the scene discreetly since I felt like my presence wasn’t needed in their bubble at the time, but why did Taeyong not come find me? Was I... simply forgotten?

I went straight home that day after cashing out the books. I didn’t know where Taeyong went after leaving that that girl, but I didn’t want to act like some busybody who asks something that isn’t her business. I got texts from Taeyong asking if I left yet. Was he planning on returning there after leaving for two hours? He actually expected me to wait. Unbelievable.
After that day, my meetups with him became less frequent. He occasionally replied to my texts. More like one sentence after four or so hours. He still updates his socials. And it was all about her. Photos, videos. They were hanging out together more often. For some reason, it felt like she was a replacement; my replacement. I somewhat distanced myself away from Taeyong thinking, “I assume you don’t need me anymore so I’ll stay out of your way.”
But one day, out of pure curiosity, I decided to follow them to a cafe. Taeyong did text me that he’d be heading there, but I left him on seen. Like I said, I’m slowly removing myself out of his picture.
I sat at the corner of the cafe, black jacket, black cap and large black sunglasses. I looked like a stalker in the eyes of strangers. I mean, I was.
I covered myself further by holding up a book to my face. As I continuously stared at them, I grew bored. Don’t get me wrong, I was feeling negative. I didn’t like how she’s teasingly touching Taeyong’s arm, how they laughed happily together and chatting as if they’re in their own little world. But I started to wonder why I even came here. I did want to see what they’re like. But I’m making myself feel more bad this way.
I decided to write a note. I was done with the book I’m currently holding. All I needed to do was give it to Taeyong. With the note. I took out a random piece of paper from my tote bag, fishing out for a pen as well and began to write.
It’s my 145th letter. Fuck how long am I going to do this? Might sound weird, but I’m currently looking at you. Watching you with her. Why does it feel like you’re happier with her? You’re smiling, laughing more. You’re more brighter. I mean you have always been bright. But you just... radiate differently; a new type of glow I never knew you had. I saw your socials, constantly posting about her. I’m jealous, very. I want to be like that with you. But it just feels wrong, perhaps not right. Like I shouldn’t be craving for you. For your touch, your whispers, giggles. Why do I feel like this? The more you spend time with her, the more I realise that my chances of getting you is slowly slipping away from my grasp. But why can’t I move? Why don’t I want to move? I’m not sure what’s stopping me. And that’s what I’m fearing the most.
I felt my cheeks getting wet. It took me awhile to realise that I was balling my eyes out, slowly and painfully. I took off my sunglasses for a moment to wipe off excess tears before putting them back on. I can’t belive I’m crying. I looked down to the note. A tear fell onto it, a spot crinkled as it left a visible mark of my feelings. Just as I was sniffing, constantly having to wipe my cheeks dry since my tears were getting uncontrollable, I looked out the window. And what stood on the opposite side shocked me.
I knocked on the glass, his head turning quickly. He looked around inside the cafe, not sure of where the signal came from. I knocked once again. He looked down on me and I took off my sunglasses, pulling down my hood.
“Nakamoto Yuta?” I mouthed to him, my lips moving widely so he could read them. His eyes blinked rapidly and he leaned in before widening them after realising who I was. We take a few of the same classes. I see him often in school. But we never really talked. He immediately rushed into the cafe, covering his face as if hiding his identity and running up to my table to take a seat.
“Why were you looking in like some stalker?” I asked, pulling my hood back over my head as I lowered myself, my eyes still fixated on Taeyong.
“You look more like one than I do.” Yuta commented. I notice how he was constantly turning around, specifically to Taeyong’s direction. “You haven’t answered my question.”
“I’m looking at them.” He pointed his finger out ever so slightly. And as I predicted, he was referring to Taeyong and the girl. “You know Taeyong?” I immediately asked, extremely curious as to why he was spying on them just like I was. “No, but I know Jiung.” So that’s her name. Pretty name for a pretty girl. Of course.
“And why are you doing that exactly?” Yuta let out a huff, leaning in with his elbows on the table, his shoulder rising up to his ears. “Because I want to see what they’re on about. I keep seeing her with that Taeyong guy. I like Jiung so I’m jealous.” I puckered my lips and nodded. My face showed as if I shrugged it off. But my mind began turning its gears. So he likes Jiung and he’s jealous of them together? He has the same reason of me coming here as well. What forces swirled around the world for us to come together like this? It’s weird how coincidentally the situation was.
“I actually came for the same reason as you. I like Taeyong, and I’m jealous of Jiung.” I frowned slightly, a sigh leaving my lips. I opened up to him quick about my situation since I felt a sense of similarity with him. He probably wouldn’t remember anyways. It’s not like we’ll be crossing paths in the future.
“Were you crying? Your eyes are hella puffy.” He asked suddenly. I breathed out a laugh awkwardly. I gulped and cleared my throat, thinking that I should shove all my feeling down so I wouldn’t look even more ridiculous in front of Yuta. “Yeah.” I quickly slid the note in between a random page.
“Funny how we met here. For the same reasons. It’s like fate.” I couldn’t agree more. “An idea just came to my mind.” Oh no.
Yuta has always been the class clown, saying out his ideas that were completely mind blowing and far fetched. His way of thinking is... unique, in a funny way. I got somewhat nervous after he said that sentence, you can never guess what he’s thinking about or get a clear grasp of the way he thinks.
“How about we try splitting them up?” I didn’t reply, his words slowly resonating in my mind. He can’t be serious, right? But why am I slowly being persuade by an unknown force?
I have yet to say a word, my eyes still on them as I was deep in thought, wondering about all the possible outcomes of me agreeing and disagreeing, weighing them carefully so that I could make the more beneficial decision.
“Come on. You’ll get to be with Taeyong more. And I’ll have Jiung. Win-win situation, right?”
I sighed, inhaling as my chest puffs up.
“Alright.”

Yuta: How’s it going?
Me: amazingg :D
“Who are you texting?” Taeyong asked, I placed my phone down to the side, screen faced down. “No one.”
This is the sixteenth outing with Taeyong after that day. I was able to spend time with Taeyong a lot more, just like before. And probably just like it should. I’ve seen Yuta posting more often on his Instagram stories, mostly of him and Jiung. Our plan of keeping them apart is working. Though Yuta told me that it was Jiung who’s constantly asking to meet up with Taeyong, he was able to force her to hang out with him instead, giving her no chance whatsoever. It was extremely helpful.
I know this whole situation sounds as if I’m being evil or whatever you call it. But why wouldn’t I accept a chance to be closer to Taeyong?
“Should we head to the carnival after this? Or desserts first? Oh I want to head to that new ice cream shop! Ten said it’s delicious but extremely crowded. I don’t mind waiting since I’ll have you to annoy.” Taeyong rambled on. I laughed happily, taking in this moment. I want to treasure such simple moments like these. I want it to be in a snow globe; something remembered forever.
“Do anything you please, Yong.” I chuckled, flashing an eye smile.
Just then, the bell above the restaurant’s door opened, signalling a new costumer coming in. Taeyong widened his eyes at the door. I tilted my head at his weird action, turning around to see just what made him react that way.
“Jiung?” “Yuta?” The two of us whispered at the same time.
Jiung’s eyes immediately went to Taeyong, her face lighting up at the sight of him as she tried to make her way over. But Yuta stopped her by the shoulders. I now understood what Yuta meant by saying, “She’s so attracted to him.”
While Jiung was struggling to eacape Yuta’s strong grasp, Taeyong was halfway off his seat. I immediately reached a hand to place on his arm. “Where you going?” I asked, faking a smile when in reality I was getting nervous.
“Wanting to say hi to Jiung.” Taeyong was about to alide himself off his seat so I grabbed his arm, trying to stop him in the most natural way possible. “I don’t think you should. She seems busy.” I tugged on his arm slightly, an attempt to get him to sit back down. “But it looks like she’s struggling. I- Wait here.” Taeyong noticed how I was trying so hard to stop him from leaving. He raised a brow and shook my hand off in an instant, his strength powering over my desires.
I followed behind him. Taeyong forcefully removed Yuta away from Jiung and Yuta’s eyes immediately glanced to mine. Both of us sending nervous signals to each other in that split second. “What the hell were you doing to her?” Taeyong growled lowly, his voice and tone suddenly growing dark as he held Jiing’s wrist, his body standing in front of hers as if he’s protecting her.
“I was just getting her out of the restaurant since it’s quite packed.” Yuta awkwardly replied with an excuse. “No you were purposely stopping me from going to Taeyong.” Jiung fought back. I stood there frozen, watching by the sidelines as nervousness started rising in me. Are they going to find out about my plan with Yuta?
“I think it’s just a misunderstanding. You two can go now.” I ripped Taeyong’s tight hold around Jiung’s wrist, dragging him back to stand beisde me. “I just want to chat with Taey-”
“I don’t think that’s necessary. Move along now.” I tried to shove Yuta and Jiung out the door. Taeyong’s hand suddenly gripped onto mine. I looked up instantly.
“Pause. You’re very acting weird. What’s going on?” Taeyong’s voice was raised higher than before. A few people were staring at us. “Nothing...” I whispered, looking down. I was now scared to the bone. I didn’t know what to reply, how to cover it up. It’s gonna have to slip out eventually. At least I was able to be with Taeyong more often.
“Yuta and I planned for you guys to never meet again.” That’s it. It’s all over. With that simple line of confession, the truth was now out. No where left to hide or run. Yuta smacked me on the arm, making me wince. “What the heck?!” He half-shouted in a whisper.
“Are you serious? And for what? Jealous or something?” Taeyong was mad. So mad. And I felt it. I was so scared. I was shivering with every word he said. I gulped, avoiding eye contact with him. I didn’t need to give a reply. My body has said it all. A moment of silence filled with tension circled around us. Suddenly, Taeyong stormed out.
I panicked, immediately going back to the table we were at to grab my belongings and rushed out, wanting to stop Taeyong. I looked around frantically. I spotted him walking down the street on the left. I ran as fast as I could, my hand reaching out for him as I shouted his name countless of times, but he doesn’t respond as if he was deaf.
“Taeyong, please!” I cried out. I finally had his wrist tightly around my fingers. He turned around sharply. He tried to walk away, but I tried harder to grip onto the hem of his sweater tighter. “What?”
I realised at that very moment that I didn’t know what to say. I wanted to stop him, but I never thought of what to do afterwards. I wanted to say “Don’t leave.” But it never left my lips.
I stood there silently, my thumb caressing against the cloth as I bit my lip hard. “Hello?” Taeyong asked, annoyed. That one simple word hit me, right on the heart. It was like an arrow, painfully accurate at where its being shot. Just as how one word from him could light up my day, and one word from him can make it come crashing down as well. His change in tone and mood was quick and intense. I couldn’t stop thinking about being terrified.
I eventually took in a deep breath, opening my tote bag and taking out the book that I have forgotten to give him that day while I was spying on him.
“Here. Have it, as a present.” I brushed a hand down the back of my head, my fingers combing through the ends as I turned around and walked away in the opposite direction after shoving the book to Taeyong’s chest, remembering the note was somewhere in there but I never bothered knowing exactly where.
My breathing started to become unstable. The further I walked away, the urge of falling down to the ground and collapsing became stronger. But I continued walking, telling myself to stay strong the whole way till I reach home. “You can cry on the floor all you want. Just quickly get home now.” I kept whispering to myself, begging my legs to speed up but my wobbly knees were not helping.
I cried that night. Very hard. The whole scene of kept replaying like a movie tape. All I could think about was how mad Taeyong looked. With his voice and eyes. It was a look I’ve never seen on him before. It was like a completely new side of him. The entire opposite of what he usually was. I now realised that he’s one of those “Their all butterflies and rainbows till they get pissed off.” That phrase cannot be any more true in regards to Taeyong.
Every day I tried to meet Taeyong. At the bar, his home, the bookstore. Anywhere he could be. He wasn’t replying to my texts, or calls. He probably blocked me. And on his socials as well. He wasn’t responding to me at all. I got worried sick. Is he never going to talk to me ever again?
Constantly, I mentally slammed my head against an imaginary wall, thinking about how I never thought of this outcome while weighing out the possible aftermath of the decision I made. How could I be so stupid, so reckless?
I eventually gave up trying to get in contact with him. He needed time and space away from me, completely. The hole this made in my heart was deep, like a dried up well with vines that has sharp long thorns growing in them. And every time I thought about Taeyong, I am constantly being pierced by those thorns of regret and agony, pricking deeper into my skin the more I fell deeper.
It was choking me; Taeyong’s absence. I couldn’t breathe at all. I was sinking, gasping for air each time I longed for him. I just wanted him back. I wanted things to get back to normal. I wanted to be us again.
Two months have passed. It was the worst two months of my life. Worst than the exam stress I had for last year’s final project. I had university to worry about on top of Taeyong. I was mentally going through hell. And again, the worst one yet. And it was now that I realised, I’d be much better off having him as a friend than anything less. But I was selfish enough to not treasure it that way, and it’s now finally gone. Completely out of my reach.
Tumblr media
One night, I was up. Doing assignments. Nothing’s new. Nothing’s changed. Taeyong has yet to open up to me. I glanced at the clock on my phone, groaning as I let my head fall on the table. I closed my eyes. I was too stressed. The world’s spinning too fast. I needed it to stop for awhile. My brain can’t bear this much.
As if on cue, the door bell rang while I lifted my head off the table. My head slowly turned to my room door. The bell rang again. A few seconds later, it rang yet again. Whoever’s outside was frustrated or something, jamming their fingers on the bell while saying “I’ll keep annoying you till you open this damn door.”
I pushed my chair back and walked over to the door. I looked through the peek hole. Taeyong...? I opened the door. On instinct, I grabbed him by his waist while his body fell on me. His face tilted up to meet mine. His cheeks were flushed red. His eyes were half opened and looking around as if stars are swirling above his head. He’s drunk.
“Good night. I wanna go in.” Taeyong whispered. Yup, he’s drunk. His breath reeked or alcohol as he spoke. I stood there for a moment, needing to process the current situation. At three in the morning, Taeyong showed up here drunk. I can think about why later. But now I had to figure out a way to carry his heavy body into the living room.
Taeyong wrapped his arms around my waist, sticking his body against mine. “You’re so warm.” I blinked rapidly. I looked down on him. I can’t believe it. He’s here. After two months of ignoring, he can simply show up here. Drunk, even. Worst of all, I still had the love to move along with this. The anger was still there. It’s just that his sudden presence made me forget about it a little while.
Out of the blue, like a marionette on strings, he jerkily push himself off me and staggered his way to the lviing room. I followed closely behind, not bothering to turn on the lights. I didn’t feel the need to. I sat down at the edge of the couch while he laid his body down. He giggled to himself and muttered things I couldn’t understand. I know what he’s like when drunk. Unstable, crazy, a lightweight. Will not remember a single thing the next morning.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, not even sure why. Why did I bother asking when he won’t remember any of this the next day? Well, he’s here now. And no matter what state he was in, I just wanted answers.
“To thank you. Me thank you. Mwah!” Taeyong puckered his lips in the end, eyes closed and shaking his head furiously. His fluffy hair moving along. I smacked my bottom lip and nodded. “For what exactly?”
“For getting rid of Jiung for me. She’s so annoying. I’d much rather be with you.” Taeyong mumbled, finger slowly pointing up to me. Unconsciously, I pointed back to myself too. “Me?” Taeyong pursed his lips into a thin line and nodded firmly. “Uhuh. Yes, right. Mhm.”
I kept silent for a moment. “That wasn’t really what I got from how you reacted two months ago.” Suddenly, Taeyong forcefully gripped onto my wrist, pulling me down. I let out a soft gasp, realising that my body was laying on top of his. We stared at each other for a long while, the close proximity making it so that I could feel his cold breath on my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I breathed heavily as I felt my face getting hot. Stop it. Why are you falling for him too quickly?
“Go home, Taeyong.” I whispered so softly in a calming and light tone. Taeyong whined in response. He was now pouting with his big boba eyes. He looked like a sad puppy. My heart instantly melted at the sight. I couldn’t resist. “I’m staying here.” He said in a high pitch voice, hugging me closer and putting me in an uncomfortable position for my body. Regardless, I stayed.
After two months he was finally here, and in my arms. This night might not mean anything to him but it made me feel relived. The fact that he remembered my house, my name, me. Whether it was just the alcohol driving him to do such things that are out of his control, I didn’t mind. All I needed was for him to be here. It felt good to be with him for that one night. Just one night was all I needed. It didn’t stop my anger for him about the fact that he ignored me, but I was okay with it. That night, I let it go. All I wanted was to feel such peace with Taeyong.
We ended up sleeping together on the small couch. I woke up with terrible body aches but either way, I sighed in relief when I woke up before Taeyong. I tried finding his phone, that was hidden under the crack of the cushions. I typed in his password. I memorise it like how he memorise mine. I went to his contacts and called the one person I knew.
“I have a favour to ask, Ten.” I said nervously as I watch him carry Taeyong into his car. He hummed, pulling his head out of the car and slamming the door. “Don’t tell him he went here.” Ten gave a half-shrug, nodding his head in response. “Sure. I’m not sure what’s going on between you two, but it seems like a lot. Should solve it soon.”
“Yeah... I hope so.”
Tumblr media
16th October.
I’ve lost count on the number of love letters I’ve given you. I can’t give them to you anymore, since you don’t even want anything to do with me. I can’t blame you. I knew you’d be pissed. I was hesitant on doing it but I was so selfish, wanting you all to myself. But what can I do, Taeyong? I’ve wanted you for so long. Yet you’re so delusional of my feelings. How could you have not read any of of my letters? Perhaps you have and chose to ignore it. That’s more painful than you being upfront and rejecting me. As much as I allow you to hate on me, I’d still say this. Fuck you, Lee Taeyong.
23rd October.
I saw you at the bar. You look... happy. Without me. You act as if nothing happened. Like I never happened. I wonder if you’re just putting on an act, or are you actually okay without me by your side. Are you still mad? Did you forget about it but have gotten use to not being with me? I want to know Taeyong so please, respond. That’s all I ask from you. Fuck that. You don’t even have to talk. I just want you here with me. Whether the air around us will be filled with tension, I don’t care. What I’m going through, is not nice, Taeyong. It is punishment for my actions. But how long do I have to keep it up? How long to I have to suffer to take a breath? For you to pull me out of this mess with your forgiveness. I’m falling apart.
14th December.
Wow. It’s December already. I’m sitting at the park we go to every Christmas. We’d be freezing to death but still glued to the bench chatting about life since we just loved being out in the snow. And yet, you never got back to me. I found out from Jiung that you left the country but never said where. I miss you, Lee Taeyong. I’m tired. So tired, of constantly penning my feelings down on pieces of paper. Words I can never say to you out loud, are all in the letters in your books that you never bothered to open. I even hid one between the books of your huge ass shelf. Why haven’t you said anything about them? I know I should move on, because it really does seem like you never want to talk to me ever again. I’m losing hope, more faster than before as each day pass, wondering where the hell as you and how you’re doing. I keep telling myself “Let it be. Let him have his moment.” But I wonder if you ever think about how I’m bearing all of this as well. That without you, I might never be able to forgive myself.
I slide the notes under Taeyong’s apartment door. I knew he was out of the country. Some nights I’d sit by his door, the note in hand as I envision him in his house. I couldn’t think about what he’s doing. And I constantly ponder about it. Is he eating well? Sleeping well? Is he enjoying himself wherever he’s at? Months passed. And as time went on, I began to wonder if my letters were even worth writing. Why was I giving so much? Why am I going through such lengths, physically and emotionally, for Taeyong to be okay? Why am I bearing such emotions when it’s not even certain that I’ll be given the same in return.
I’m making a promise to myself. I’ll let go of Lee Taeyong. I’ll slowly, bit by bit, remove my feelings out of my heart. It’s not worth it, I kept telling myself. I’m meaninglessly suffering for someone who is isn’t appreciating it. So why should I go on? I loved you, Lee Taeyong. I changed my words. I loved you.
And that was the last love letter I wrote.
Tumblr media
Along my journey to forgetting Taeyong, I suffered a lot. I was always drawn back to him. I was always willing to put my pen on paper and just write something to him. About anything. It was a bad habit that needed to stop. I had to let go years of feelings that were being pilled up in my heart. And it was something that’s extremely hard to let go. But other than my own factors, there were external, circumstantial ones as well. Whether it was coincidental or not, that was something I can never know the answer to.
I was on my laptop, casually scrolling through Pinterest to calm myself with the aesthetics of random things. Room decor, clothing ideas, handsome idols. Anything that can take my mind off my billions of overloaded projects for awhile.
I didn’t know how, but I ended up looking at quotes, Japanese ones to be exact. The deep meaning of words. Some were heartfelt while other were heartbreaking. I read them off casually till I paused at one.
‘Tsundoku— buying books and not reading them; letting books pile up unread on shelves, floors, or nightstands.’
I scoffed to myself, pinching my temples as I shook my head. It’s just like you, Lee Taeyong. “Fucking hell.” I mumbled, slamming the laptop shut. I’ve been able to not think about Taeyong for a long time now. Or at least I felt like it was a long time. I wasn’t going to let a word get me off course. I placed my laptop on the bed and went back to my study table, suddenly feeling motivated to continue as a way to distract myself from thinking about him.
Thinking that I wouldn’t be facing that state of dilemma again, I just so happen to see a quote the first thing I entered Pinterest.
‘If they were meant to reunite, they had to go separate ways.’
I was then reminded of Taeyong yet again. But I don’t think I was thinking about him as a person, but our relationship. Just our relationship. Having to part ways as a mean to reunite. That’s something I found hard to believe. Why am I having hope that it’ll happen when I highly doubt I’ll experience it? Why is my mind slowly pulling me back to the memories I have with Taeyong? I want him long gone. I want him holed up in the corner of my mind, out of sight, out of mind. But things are always popping up randomly around me, and it all reminded me of him. I feel like it’s his doing, funny enough. Constantly hinting about him with almost everything I come across.
“What the fuck?”
I looked at the Youtube home screen and what was recommended for me. One of the videos had Taeyong’s name. And his face was on the thumbnail. The title? Lee Taeyong | Freestyle dance | Paris In The Rain (Lauv) My finger moved on its own, bringing the cursor to the video and clicking on it.
As I expected, the video was taken in Paris. So that’s where he has been. He was in Paris this whole time without my notice. I was shocked to find that the video has tons of likes and view. I read through the comments. They were all swooning over Taeyong.
“Who wouldn’t?” I said to myself. I scrolled up and played the video. My eyes didn’t leave the screen for a second. I was frozen, not being able to move an inch as I watched, completely in awe. Firstly, Taeyong has his hair dyeda light ashy grey or blue. It suited him well, all too well. His dancing was immensely beautiful. Anyone would fall for him. Visuals, talent. He has it all. Dancer by day, bartender by night. He looked so free and alive in his dance. Serving the world with a hard punch with his deep emotions that were imbued perfectly into his movements.
I bit my lower lip. Fuck. I felt it. The goosebumps, the quivering of my lips. My eyes started to well up with tears. “No, this is not happening again.” The video was still playing, the music ringing in my ears but I couldn’t bear to look at the video. I was watching Taeyong, living the perfect life in Paris. What more could he needed? I clearly wasn’t in his equation. I’m completely gone, removed out of his life. No trace of my presence to be found.
The longer I think, the more I forced myself not to cry. Eventually, being weakling I am, I ended up falling deep into the harsh and intense whirl pool that is my feelings once again, a place I never visited in a long while. The feelings started dancing in my mind like butterflies flapping in unison to the soundtrack of my sadness. I could only assume that it’s what the world wants. It’s how it wants to spin, how it wants to work.
Tumblr media
Eight months. I actually counted how long I’ve lost contact with Taeyong for. It didn’t bother me. I was trying to live a life. It’s getting better. It took a lot of baby steps. But I’m feeling a whole lot lighter now. It’s March.
I was walking back from University when my phone started vibrating in my hand since I’ve always left it on silent mode. I lifted it up. It was an unknown number. Instinctively, I chose to not pick up the call. But a few seconds later, the same number showed up on the screen. With a light groan, I picked up and brought the phone to my ear.
“Hello? Who is this?” I asked formally, waiting by the traffic light. I heard the person on the other hand breathe out a chuckle, almost like a disappointed kind. “Who the-”
“So you deleted my number?” That voice... No doubt. It was Lee fucking Taeyong. “Meet me. My home. You got ten minutes.” The call ended.
Rapidly blinking my eyes, I slowly brought down the phone. I read over the number again. It was Taeyong’s phone. Why didn’t I remember it? I used to know it. It’s one of the few things I used to be able to tell off the top of my head. “Ten minutes?” I looked at the time.
I don’t know what urged me, but I ran. I ran as fast as I could. The unknown force. It was unfamiliarly familiar. If that made sense. I was able to live a life without Taeyong. I was. I was capable of it. And that’s what I did. But at the very moment, I felt the need to see him. The spontaneous out of the blue kind of feel. It was all just pouring out of me.
I stood at his doorstep, hand on my chest and other as support for my body against the wall. Panting heavily, I tried to slowly calm myself down. I gulped, and rang the doorbell. No turning back.
The door flung open. And there stood Taeyong. He still had his ashy hair colour. His face never changed a single bit. Nor did his overall physique. He was still handsome, breathtaking. “Come in.”
I sucked my lips and sidled in timidly and warily. Nothing has changed in his house as well. The large bookshelf with the television in the centre. I started to remember the love letters. All of them are hidden in the pages of the books in that very shelf. It reminded me of my feelings for him.
I sat down on the leather couch as Taeyong disappeared into the kitchen. I kept my head faced forward, placing my tote bag down, leaning it against the couch on the floor. Taeyong came back moments later. Two plates with a slice of cheesecake. He handed on to me. “Try it.” He said.
I slowly took a bite. Chewing on it, I scrunched up my nose, placing the plate down on the table. “I hate it. Tastes too artificial.” I commented dryly. Taeyong chuckled and cleared his throat. “Knew you’d say that.” Taeyong shoved a bite into his mouth, eating it as he placed the plate beside mine. “Want to know why you’re here?”
I bobbed my shoulders. This atmosphere, the air between us. It wasn’t awkward at all. Though our words were dry and short, it felt normal. It wasn’t weird being next to him after not seeing him for eight months.
Taeyong stood up, taking small steps to the shelf. As if practiced, he pulled out one letter from a book, another, and another, and another. It was never ending. It took him at least ten minutes to slide out all the letters and placing them on the table. I silently watch, my anxiety turning up a notch with each letter.
He finally took what I hoped was the last letter and went back to sit next to me. A specific letter is held in his hand. He unfolded it, placing the paper on the table and turning it so that I could read.
It was my last love letter.
“So you knew.” I whispered, looking down, leaning forward as I laced my fingers together. I took in a deep breath, my eyes scanning down the note before turning my head to Taeyong. “Then why the fuck didn’t you do anything about it?”
Taeyong lifted the paper off the table, holding it in front of him. He reread it. Running a hand through hair, chest puffing up as he inhaled and exhaled sharply. “Because I wanted you to keep writing to me.”
“What...?” That was definitely not an answer I was expecting.
Taeyong licked his lips, smacking them before sniffling a rubbing his nose. He lets out a weak chuckle. “I liked them. From your handwriting, to your words. I felt it; your love, with each letter.” He whispered softly.
I simply couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This was the explanation and truth I’ve been wanting to hear for months. This is what kept me up at night, what led me to have my mental breakdowns, the constant ‘what if’s I formulated throughout. “You just like them? Taeyong if you’re rejecting fucking do it now-” I was about to scream, but Taeyong was quick to cut me off.
“In a way it felt like you were writing a book. One just for me. That’s why I never bothered to read any other books. I just needed yours. Your... simply overpowering pain in the heart love letters.” Taeyong smiled down at the letter, hovering his fingers over the words.
“And I don’t just like the love letters. I love the author. Paris made me realise that. It took me that long. And I’m sorry for how long you needed to wait.”
“What do you love about the author?”
I could tell Taeyong was taken aback by that question. And I knew he would react that way. He still knew me well, bouncing back and giving a confident answer.
“I don’t want to sound common by saying it’s her smile, laughter, brightness. But it truly is what I love about her. All the times we’ve spent were filled with nothing but pure bliss. Serenity, is what I feel when I’m with her. Longing, like I was meant to be by her side. I’ve known her long enough to know every single detail about her, ones that maybe she doesn’t even know herself. Like how drinks two straws when she’s sad, or having the habit of twiddling her thumbs when she’s excited. Little things like those, I find them adorable. No matter what she is, a nerd, weirdo, plain crackhead, it’s... the energy, her own energy. A light and force only she could illuminate.”
I couldn’t say anything. I frozen stiff by his words. He actually meant it. I could feel it through his voice. He stuttered here and there nervously, finding words to say. But he was able to structure them in the most beautiful way possible. I had no words to say.
Suddenly, Taeyong slowly brought his hand up to cup my cheek. That one touch alone made me feel a lot of things. It was like I was hit by a huge wave of feelings all bunched up together and crashing over me. But it wasn’t something I couldn’t handle. It was overwhelming, but I was calm. I was at peace. It felt good. Just this.
He slowly and carefully swiped his thumbs across my cheeks like I’m the most fragile thing in the world. His touch was lightweight and simply serene. “Another thing the author doesn’t know about herself is that she really doesn’t know when she’s crying and spilling out tears.”
I blinked my eyes, Taeyong smoothing his hands from my cheeks and to my shoulders, placing them there firmly as his eyes stared into mine. I can’t exactly explain what I felt. But it was like the stars aligned, as cliche as that sounds.
‘If they were meant to reunite, they had to go separate way.’ I resonated with this now. I understood what it meant. Our months of separation were all for this exact moment. Both of us suffered, one trying to find themselves again while the other needing the time to realise that what’s most valuable was right in front of him. We needed that gap, for us to reunite and actually be able to love each other properly and willingly. Which definitely would not be a trouble now.

NEWAYS love yo selfs and drink water <3
part one
[ 3 weeks passed by]
“Okay remember we have a 3 day weekend starting tomorrow Friday. If your going home tell me and I’ll check you out and please contact me if you have any questions. Stay safe. Class dismissed” Aizawa says
My classmates all burst into talk that bothers me completely.
God why are they so loud. I need to get out before I tell them to shut up.
Good thing I’m going Home to my family for this weekend.
I missed my parents and siblings.
Sighing I walked to Shoji
“Hey Sho ready to go?”
Shoji has been the only person talking to after the outburst that happen. He was the only one that understood the situation and was probably the only reason at times I was laughing.
“Hey y/n. Yeah I’m ready let’s head out” Shoji says while putting his hand in the lower of my back
I felt the eyes of my remaining classmates look at me and Shoji.
I looked back at them with a cold glare and said
“Got a fucking starring problem?”
“N-no” the class said in sync
I rolled my eyes and continued walking off.
“So you going home for the 3 day weekend Y/n?” Shoji said while walking toward his dorm
“Yeah I want to be home with my family and my siblings. Some down time you know?” I say
“That’s good! Not going to lie I do miss being out this school.” Shoji says while grabbing his keys to unlock his door
I see Tenya, Deku and Shoto walk by to Tenyas dorm that happens to be right next of Shojis dorm.
“Wait why don’t you come to my house this weekend!” I say
“What?! No no y/n that’s your time to be with your family I don’t want to intrude” Shoji says frantically and waving his arms.
“Sho you have meet my family before they would love you to come over” I say grabbing his keys and unlocking the door “And besides your the only person right now that doesn’t see me as a emotional shit down person. You and my family and outside school friends happen to be the only silver lining I have just now.”
Opening the door I motion Shoji in and walked in myself and shutting the door.
I put the keys on his desk and walked toward his bed and through myself on top of it
“What do you mean by your silver lining y/n? And please shut your eyes for a moment I’m changing” Shoji said
Grabbing his nearest blanket I threw the blanket over me
“Well Sho by silver lining I mean that you are kinda my sun in the middle of the hurricane. You didn’t judge me when I did my outburst. You went to go check on me hours after the incident because you knew I needed to cool down before lashing out. Hell you sit at lunch with me when your friends say not to. And you have been there for me for so much even before I dated Iida and during as well. So yes you are part of my silver lining as much as my family and friends that don’t come here to UA.” I say
I feel movement on the bed and arms wrap around me.
This took me by shock and I pull the blanket down to see Shoji almost in tears.
“SHO WHATS WRONG?! DID I UPSET-“ I say frantically pushing back a bit to cup his face
“I’m fine y/n. I’m just shocked that you would even consider me such a close friend to you.” Shoji says in his wobbly voice
“Sho. I know I don’t say it much but I do genially care about you. Like you mean the world to me. Hell my family considers you family.” I say while sitting in front of him
He smiles and attacks me with another hug
“SHOJIIIIII!!!!!” I wine out
We both turn into fits of giggles and he pulled me up
“Okay let me start packing so we can head out tonight.” Sho said walking to get his to go bag ready
I pulled my laptop out my backpack and FaceTimed my Mom to tell her Shoji is coming for the weekend
Tenya POV
It’s been 3 weeks and I can’t find the courage or strength to talk to y/n.
Have I really put her second ?!
I didn’t mean to shes everything to me.
God why am I not fighting for this!
In class I saw y/n wasn’t paying attention in class more in her little world. She does that a lot when she’s not in the mood to learn.
After Professor Aizawa dismissed us I saw Shoji and y/n walk out together. I stared because the fact Shoji had his hand on her lower back. I didn’t notice it at first until Shoto said
“Does Shoji have his hand on her lower back?!”
Our group of friends heard and turned to see y/n and Shoji walking out.
We stared for too long because the fact y/n gave us a deadly glare and walked away.
Sighing I picked up my book bag and left to my room with Midorya and Shoto.
While walking to my dorm midorya spoke up
“Hey have you tried talking to her. I know you miss her and you want to fix it.”
Sighing I respond
“No i haven’t. But I want to talk to her when she’s comfortable and not in a situation where she has to shut down and let herself be emotionally unavailable and let her thought and actions go by what her body feels at the time.”
“So a clear mind in a way. Like in the comfort of her own environment.” Shoto says
“EXACTLY!” I say
Walking to my room I see Y/n leaning on the wall and talking to Shoji.
Calmly and smoothly.
In the process of opening my door I see y/n smile a bit and I thought the world stop for just a moment.
Seeing we walk into his room so gracefully.
“Hey Iida are you there” I hear Shoto say
“AH yes yes Im here. Sorry!” I say opening the door to let the boys in
Settling down I hear Midorya say
“Iida you are still head over heels for her. Why did you ever put her second.”
Sighing sadly I sat on the floor with my head in my hands
“I don’t know. I love her. Everything she does and how she can be such a punk to everyone. But as soon as it comes to her family she softens up. The way she interacts with animals. Or when her favorite characters from her favorite anime come on the television. As well the way she is so honest with everyone and not caring what anyone says. To the way she dresses. To the way she plays the ukulele guitar and so much instruments and the way she sings so softly but with power in rock songs.”
Tears started to form in my eyes
“I didn’t notice she was hurting until 3 weeks ago. She finally broke. And as a boyfriend I should have never let her believe she wasn’t lovable. She’s so lovable. She has flaws like me. But every of her flaw is so beautiful in my eyes.”
Softly crying I hear Shoto say
“Win her back.”
Looking up i say
“How. How do I win back someone that doesn’t believe in second chances. That’s her biggest pet peeve. She has only given second chances to certain people. And even then it’s rare.”
“Show her that your worth one more chance.” Shoto says
“Your brother Iida might know a way. He’s dating y/n sister after all?” Midorya spoke up
“Yeah they have been dating for more than 4 years now. She’s been though thick and thin with him. I didn’t even know out siblings where dating till y/n sister Athena picked up y/n for a doctors appointment and I saw her. But definitely I will call my brother now!”
I say rushing to my laptop
Ringing my brother I waited for him to answer
“Hello?”
“Brother hi!”
“Hey Tenya what’s up?”
“Well I was hoping you can help me with something if you are not busy?”
“Shoot what’s up?”
“Well you know how me and y/n are not together anymore because of me not giving her time and putting her second-“
“So your finally admitting that you where putting her second when she came first. In love and time” Tensie said scolding me
Looking down with tears forming
“Yes I’d finally have to admit that I was putting her second.”
Looking up with tears rolling down I choked out
“Please I want her back”
Tensie sighed and explain the plan
[time skip to y/n house]
Y/n POV
Arriving home with Shoji I see my family waiting for us at the door.
Smiling I slung my bag over my shoulder and closed the taxi door.
Playing
I grab Shoji arm and raced to my front door
My Parents greeted us and told us to head to dinner with them
While eating dinner with retome and conversing i hear my mom say
“Y/n sweety just wanted to tell you that the Iida family will be spending the 3 day weekend with us. As well with Zeke and his friends are coming in to see you.”
I stared at my mom
“WHAT?!”
“Are you not happy?” Dad said
“I am for Zeke and the crew haven’t seen them in roughly a year. But why the Iida family.” I say mumbling the last part
“Well you so forget Tensie is my boyfriend and Kyo best friend?” Athena spoke up
“I’m fine with him coming I could care less but why the whole damn family like. It was supposed to be us family plus Shoji and Zeke and the crew.” I argued back
“They are friends as much as Zeke and the rest of your friends from Marley. They are going all to be here till Sunday afternoon understand? The house is big enough do you to ignore The Iidas if you want. Shoji will be by your side and us as well. Plus the moral support of your 7 other friends coming in to visit you.” My father States
I sighed and agreed and finish dinner and head to bed.
Dropping off Shoji at his guest bedroom that isn’t too far from my room he spoke up
“You will be fine y/n I understand you don’t want Iida around. But his brother happens to be in love with your sister and best friends with your brother. I’ll be here for you and your other friends I can’t die to meet. You have told me so much about the 7 that basically helped you train and become your friends as well.”
Sighing I leaned to the wall
“I know it’s just bad enough I see him at school and he doesn’t even try to reach out.”
Groaning i looked at Shoji
“I need to move on.”
Shoji looked shocked but didn’t say nothing
Chuckling I looked down and spoke
“Thank god Zeke and the gang are coming. I needed a break from my crazy life and they just happen to be peace but enough chaos. Your gonna love them Sho.”
Standings straight I continue
“Well Sho I atta go to bed. Tomorrow everyone arrives. I need sleep I’ll see you in the morning sweet dreams Sho. “
Shoji smiled and pats my head
“Sweet dreams as well y/n”
Smiling i walked to my room and closed my door when I heard my messages go off.
I pick it up and see from Zeke.
Zeke👑: Hey shorty we are on the train to you as we speak. Get there tomorrow around 8am I expect your famous banana pancakes.
Y/n✨: bold of you to assume I’ll be up at that time
Zeke👑: im going to tell Reiner you are mean to me 😢
Y/n✨: what is he gonna do about it?
Zeke👑: please make us food someone decided to blow most of our food money for tomorrow on blankets - Rei
Y/n✨: let me guess pieck ?

Zeke👑: thank you see you tomorrow. Get some sleep - Rei

putting my phone to charge on my desk I see a picture of the gang from a year ago when I went to go visit them. smiling I looked at the picture and though "it wouldn't be so bad to move back with them."

se!saeran x gn!reader
a/n: I’m really really sorry for taking so long on requests,,, I’m working on them slowly, but I’m in a sort of weird mental state, so I wrote this mainly for comfort. Thanks for understanding ^^
Pfff, as i’m writing this, my internet has cut like 6 times- honestly i’m just trying to write comfortttttt
warnings: negative thoughts/feelings
word count: 1,869
Your stomach ached, as you wrapped your arms around your torso. So many thoughts flooded your head that it was beginning to make you feel physically ill. Your brain was screaming at you- things you should be doing, things you regretted doing, how lazy you were being, how tired you felt, how overwhelming every little feeling, sound, light, and texture was to your senses. Yet, all you could do was sit there. You wanted to cry, but, despite everything you felt, you were… numb. Where was the point in crying? It was best to accept everything as it was.
Though you told yourself it was best to accept such a defeat, there was a part of you that was well aware that you were close to some sort of breaking point. All day was spent doing things- all day for several weeks now, you spent your time working. Working, worrying, running errands. Still, every day seemed to bring another thing to do- another problem- more drama, none of which you could control. Everything was out of your control.
You nearly jumped at hearing your phone ring. Grabbing it, you were half-ready to give some sort of curt answer, before realizing that it was just Saeran. Holding the phone to your ear, you gave the most cheerful answer you could.
“Hello?”
“Hey, (Y/N)... I was just… wondering how you were.”
Of course, you weren’t doing your best. Knowing that, but also knowing that Saeran probably couldn’t afford to bother himself with your problems, you told him “I’m pretty good. How about you?”
“I’m fine… my stupid brother went into town, so I was thinking about walking to your place. Not like I… really feel like seeing you in particular, I’m just….”
“It’s alright. You don’t need an excuse to come visit me, you know? I’m decent, and I’ve probably got ice cream in the fridge.”
Saeran paused on the other line, and you could vaguely hear the sound of boots zipping up. “Right then. See you in a few.”
“Okay. Love you, see you in a few.”
“............” He whispered, despite the fact that no one was in his home nor yours, “love you too.”
The phone call ended, and you sat back, staring at the ceiling. Saeran was comforting to be around, sure, but… were you going to be comforting for him? You had no energy left. Just making yourself talk on the phone felt like too much work, you honestly just wanted to sleep… sleep for a long time. Maybe a month of two. A year or… ten.
“Alas, life goes on,” You whispered to yourself, attempting to lighten the mood. Forcing yourself to stand, you walked to the bathroom and grabbed a hairbrush, deciding to make yourself somewhat decent for Saeran.
You glanced at the mirror, pulling the brush through your tangled hair. The knots were tough, probably due to running your hands stressfully through your hair so often, and you watched as your face contorted in pain.
“You’re so… ugly,” You sighed to yourself, continuing to brush your hair. “You can’t even handle brushing your hair… it’s not hard. It doesn’t hurt that bad… you’re fine, you know? Just suck it up...”
Sighing, you tossed the hairbrush back onto the counter, then fixed your hair a bit with your hands. “Talking to yourself, huh… not even for a fun conversation. Just… complaining.”
You began your walk towards the kitchen, aiming to grab some medicine to calm your upset stomach. As you stepped, the thoughts continued- upsetting, self-deprecating thoughts, on top of impulsive ones. It was all… too much. Even as you swallowed the pain relieving pill, so many thoughts ran through your brain. Throw this, hit that, do this, clean that. You wanted to pull out your freshly-brushed hair, as you instead opted to chug the water bottle held in your hand.
“Giving your kidneys a boost?” A familiar voice asked, a joking tone laced in the comment. You nearly jumped again, calling yourself lucky for having just finished drinking the water.
“I drink plenty of water, actually. Maybe not today, but I usually do.”
You gently wrapped an arm around the tall boy, feeling him lightly return it, before the both of you sat back quickly. “Saeyoung always tells me that you should drink water every day. Not just when you feel like it.”
“And does Saeyoung follow that?”
Saeran laughed, “does Phd Pepper count?”
“Nope. So, his comments are invalid.”
“I didn’t take them seriously to begin with, sooo…”
You smiled, tossing the empty bottle into the recycling bin, before looking back over at Saeran. “So? What brings you here? Ice cream, a movie, popcorn?”
He shrugged, grabbing a bowl and a spoon, then making his way towards your freezer. He took out the ice cream container, before preparing himself a bowl. “...Want any?” He asked, not bothering to look at you as he did so.
“No, thank you though.”
"Sure… it’s your ice cream, so you don’t really need to thank me.”
After having made his bowl of ice cream, you found yourself resting next to Saeran on the couch. A comfortable silence ensued, and you finally felt at some sort of peace. Though your eyes were shut, at feeling a gaze on you, you peeked them open, catching a glimpse of Saeran as he quickly turned his head. Sitting up a bit, you smiled at his dismissiveness. He’d die before admitting it, but he had been looking at you… you felt lucky. He could look at you without disgust- something not even you could do to yourself.
“What’re you thinking?” You asked after a few minutes. Though the silence was enjoyable, his voice wasn’t something you could complain about either. Honestly, all you wanted to do was hear his sweet voice talk about whatever he pleased, and maybe fall asleep to him talking. The last part was less likely, but-
“You’re acting dumb,” He muttered, turning and shoving a spoonful of ice cream into your mouth. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, as you noted the pout on his face. You swallowed the ice cream, your heart rate picking up, worrying that you did something wrong.
“What do you mean?”
“See, you’re already getting defensive. It’s,” He paused a bit, and you didn’t bother speaking, knowing it was hard for him to put things to words. He didn’t want to seem too worried, although it was clear he cared. “It’s weird. You haven’t…” His voice grew quiet, as a pink spread across his face, “texted me as much. And I’ve had to initiate half the calls- and even then, you sometimes don’t pick up. And then, your texts are all quick and boring. I’m not… the best at picking up on things, but I can tell something’s wrong. So, just tell me. That’s what I’m here for, you idiot.”
You sat there, unable to form any words. You hadn’t thought that anything seemed wrong. You were… your normal self, right? He’d been worried just because you… couldn’t keep up with your own mind. His concern was your fault, despite the fact that all you wanted to do was focus on him. To help him. This wasn’t help-
“Stop. Stop thinking whatever you’re thinking. I don’t like that look on your face. You don’t need to force yourself or anything, just… I’m... here. It’s not a problem or a bother or anything.”
Like that, so many of those negative thoughts were contradicted. Your head hurt a bit, as you felt your heart ache. Tears filled your eyes, as everything finally came crashing down. Letting out a sob you were sure was ugly, you felt Saeran tense up next to you. Maybe he wasn’t expecting such a reaction- maybe it was overwhelming for him- still, despite the fact that he could turn away, despite the fact that he didn’t need to care, he wrapped his arms tightly around you. He began to rock you back and forth a bit, petting your head gently, as you had often done for him.
Normally, Saeran struggled to start physical contact. He struggled to deal with it, always needing you to slowly initiate touch. He’d gotten better about it, but just having him hold you so suddenly and so tightly, so comfortingly, made your heart ache further. He’d worked so hard, and, in that moment, you were so proud of him. You felt so much love for him that you were sure your heart was going to burst. And, the way he was treating you made you sure that, even if it wasn’t you yourself, there was someone out there who loved you… Saeran was that someone.
After a few minutes of Saeran holding you as you cried, you found the energy to sit back, wiping your eyes, almost embarrassed of the mess you were sure you’d become. He reached out, wiping some tears for you, before squishing your face slightly. His face was red, eyes slightly watery, as he made direct eye contact.
“Don’t hide your feelings from me… you convince me to tell you things, so you should tell me. If I’m comfortable around you… then, you… should be comfortable around me. It’s not like I have any room to judge you.”
Taking a shaky breath, you leaned back into the hug, the side of your face squishing against his chest. “Can I just… sit here for a bit…? Tell me about your day, please.”
Saeran hesitated, before shifting the two of you, leaning against the couch so that you’d also be reclining a bit. Once settled, he took in a strangely calm breath, before speaking. “Well… when I woke up, Saeyoung said he was making breakfast. It smelled bad though, and I realized he’d used Phd Pepper instead of water in the pancake mix… which, I guess was his way of saying ‘hey, Saeran, you make breakfast today’. So, I made normal pancakes. Actually, I put some… little chocolate chips in them, like the kind we got last time we ate breakfast-”
His voice continued on, as you listened to him describe every detail of his day. A sort of calmness enveloped your heart, along with exhaustion enveloping your body. There in Saeran’s arms, everything felt… safe. Nothing could hurt you, not even the problems, drama, and work that you had just panicked over. There… was no rush to do things. If you took things slowly, maybe… just maybe, it’d all work out. With those thoughts in mind, and Saeran’s voice in the background, you finally fell asleep.
---
“(Y/N)? Are you even listening?” Saeran questioned, lifting a hand from your back. As he did so, he glanced at your face, before freezing up. Realizing you were asleep, he put his hand back, sitting back in place. “They’re… asleep,” He thought, a bright blush growing on his face. Despite himself, he smiled slightly, proud that you were comfortable enough with him to fall asleep on him. He rubbed a hand up and down your back, beginning to realize how sleepy he was. As a few more moments passed, the only sound Saeran could hear being your gentle breathing, he found himself drifting off to sleep as well.

Deja vu [Heisenberg x OC]
Warning: age gap, slow burn, platonic to romantic relationship. Grammer issues (english is my first language criiii) . Child abuse, family abuse, death (not major character ). Eventual smut (maybe?)
Note: OK !!!! SO after drawing a bunch of RE8 OCs I finally could resist my self writing my own story about it. Cuz damm Heisenberg stole all my heart and I have no complains about it.
This is my first time writing a fanfic, so I will try my best !! And lastly-----
HEISENBERG DESERVES SOOO MUCH MROE LOVE.
And here’s a little potrait thet I drew for the oc (as for why I didn’t draw heisenberg as well, is bcuz im shit at drawing males ┭┮﹏┭┮)
Tumblr media
1.
The first time Heisenberg met Erin, she was only eight, can barely reach his waist and always be smiling everyday, like an every single child would at her age. She came to this shitty village with her dad, which claims to be her only family member. They are obviously foreigners to the villagers, as no one remembered there’s anyone in this place would have a such strong British accent, therefore they must be new.
Their family history has remained a mystery to most of them, oddly enough, only a few people who are about eighty or ninety years old do recall their family name, and were quite surprised to see that Erin’s father is back here again. Although every single one of them would shoot him with fierce glances that are not so friendly, even towards Erin. Except for Luiza, but even though her kindness was mainly for the poor little girl.
“I don’t understand, Charles. If you decided to leave this place before with such determination, why bother came back?” She asked her father sternly, while watching Erin just quietly standing behind him. She was thin, with a long, dark raven hair tied into a loose pony tail. But she does look endearing, those big, innocent watery eyes could gain everyone’s sympathy.
“That’s none of your business, and why does it even matter to you?” He seemed annoyed when answering this question, he roughly grabbed Erin’s wrist, without looking any of the people here, he just simply left, leaving others remain in silent confusion. Some younger villagers did ask Luiza about Erin’s origin, but all the time she just shooked her head, signed heavily.
“May mother Miranda bless that little girl. She does not deserve such man as her father.....”
Of course, Heisenberg would never missed such local news from the village. He did pay a visit to the new “guests” before informing Miranda and his siblings. The appearance of new faces surely hooked his curiosity quite high, but to be honest, he doesn’t even understand why he was that excited, as surely they would probably just end like the locals here, worshiping Miranda like she’s an actual god, and then would went missing mysteriously but eventually end up on her cold, metal operating table, with chest being cut open, blood splatters all around the body, while the Cadou parasite just devouring the remains.
Didn’t someone mentioned the family also has a daughter? Ah, then perhaps that lucky little thing would go to his sister’s castle and can becomes one of the “maid”. Just another victim, Heisenberg thought to himself, he could not hide his grin back. Holding his hammer at the back of his shoulder, he walked quickly to that infamous cottage where the new family is settled, a few quite whispers can be heard during his journey, the villagers were all surprised to see the presence of the metal lord, and naturally inquiring behind his journey.
Just like before, Heisenberg ignored all of them,
When he finally reached the shabby wooden door, of the cottage, he didn’t even bother knocking, just pushed the door wide open violently, using his ridiculous strength meanwhile announcing his arrival.
“Well, well, there’s been news all around the village about the new family, and I thought I could a pay a little visit, to get to know the new members! You are welcome, by the way......”
But when all he saw was a little girl standing by the dinning table, looking confused and stunned at him, his smug smile disappeared quickly, and even the eyes behind his dark specs were filled with momentary surprise.
“Uh, sir?” She asked quietly, putting the tray of cookies down on the table in a panic.
“Are you.... my father’s guest? I’m really sorry, he will be a away for a quite long time, and I’m not sure if.....”
He stood there for a moment, and then realized that she must be the daughter, although she’s much much younger than he anticipated. He cut her off before she finished the sentence : “Huh, so you don’t know who I am ?”
She looked so lost, after blinked her eyes a few times, she nervously said : “Sorry sir, I’m afraid I don’t.”
Heisenberg was never good with children, never, he didn’t really know what to do, after all he wasn’t expecting to meet a child who probably doesn’t even know what a dick is. So, they just stood where they were before, and staring at each other awkwardly in silence, to a point that even the little girl started to feel uncomfortable. She looked around quickly, trying to find something that could resolve this situation, then her eyes fixed on the tray of cookies on the table.
“Um, maybe...do you want to have a cookie, sir?”
The man with the hammer went speechless, he coughed a few times, put his hammer down next to the door frame, and blankly replied back with a tiny bit of fluster.
“Alright then. ”
   2.
It was fucking ridiculous.
Heisenberg would never imagined himself sitting in a old cottage, eating chocolate cookies and drinking teas like a normal human, while chatting with an eight years old girl.
Yes, he’s never good with kids, why would he? Being brought by a psycho bitch means he shouldn’t have any sympathy towards anything, everyone in this village had a good taste about his temper before, even his “Lord” title makes it too intimidate for anyone to have any contact with him. Thus, he never had a decent conversation with anyone else besides his cursed family. Frankly speaking, they were not really conversations, more like endless quarrels.
He had a quick look around in the room, when Erin went to the kitchen to make tea. This place is shabby, there’s no doubt about it. No painting, no decorations, only an old wool blanket laying down on the floor of the living room. He could see a few photo frames on the bookshelf, cover by dusts. He tried to have to closer look, but all he could see was three people standing together, presumably a family photo that was taken a long time ago.
“Here’s your tea, sir. And there’s milk and sugar.” She was holding a big tray, walking carefully towards table and almost got tripped by the chair. Heisenberg almost chuckled at her clumsy yet cute actions, but he remained silent, and finished his ninth cookie.
“Well, thanks, little one.” He said simply, then started to sip his tea. He saw Erin was standing next to the table like a lost little lamb, he can’t help but chuckled a bit, gesturing her towards the seat across him.
“ Oh come on, no need to be so frightened! I won’t eat ya.”
She was a bit hesitate at first, but eventually took his offer, sit across the table facing him. Although the teapot blocked half of her face.
“So....” Heisenberg started again, with his smug smile back on his face: “You are new here aren’t you, with your family.”
“Yes. Me and my father came a week ago, from England. But he used to live here, at least that’s what I know. ”
That made his curiosity even higher. An outsider, that originally lived here, how interesting, and how did they even escaped this twisted place.
“Where’s your father now?”
This question let her seemed a bit troubled, she shooked her head, looking disappointed : “I don’t know, sir. He said he’s busy, and that’s it.”
His grin became wider:  “And didn’t your daddy tell you, that do not let strangers come into your house while you are alone?”
To his surprise, she did not seem scared, but instead she tilted her head as she was a bit confused, and answered him back politely.
“But I didn’t let you in, sir. You just opened the door and, broke in........”
Heisenberg burst into laughter right after he heard this answer, it was really loud, even the teapot and the cups on the table started to shake a bit, but thankfully Erin didn’t notice, she was completely stunned by his reaction and didn’t know what to do. She thought she probably offend him by saying that. But the truth is, Heisenberg is not mad at all, this child’s unintentional boldness is exactly what he likes.
“ Oh yes! I did break into your house, and aren’t you scared?”
“Should I be scared?” She calmly asked him back, filling his cup again with more tea. “I was tho, but you seem like a nice guy. At least I don’t think a bad person would eat my cookies and having tea with me. If you want harm me you would've done this way earlier.”
He could have so much fun with this kid, Heisenberg though to himself. An outsider was rare enough on its own, no praying, no worshiping, and he won’t hear all those “Miranda bless us” shit. Although, it’s quite ironic that his first decent conservation in 20 was held with a freaking child.
But he’s not complaining. He finished his tea, looking around the room for the last time then shoot his glance back on her. He stood up, ignoring the girl’s skeptical look, Heisenberg chuckled a bit.
With that, he simply waved his hand, and left the house.
“Well, thank you for your service little one, I’m afraid I must got now. But I’m sure we will meet again soon.”
He grabbed his hammer by the door frame, opened the door in a swift motion.
“And send my greetings to your father, will you, little one?”

Campfire Nightmare [Skephalo]
Ayyyy did someone say angst? :D  Sooo basically, hurt and comfort fic here. It involves these two sitting by the campfire (I mean, ‘campfire’ is in the title so-) I created a parody of a ghost story so I hope you guys enjoy that. It is spooky month right now afterall. Happy spooky month. :)
It was a peaceful Friday evening tonight. ...Okay well, it WAS a peaceful evening. There was a commotion happening over at Zak and Darryl’s home. It would seem as if they were arguing again.
Unfortunately, this wasn't their usual back and forth playful banter. Oh lord no, it's even worse. Something disastrous happened here.
One of Zak's pranks went wrong. Very, very wrong. Zak was trying really hard to explain himself, but Darryl wasn’t having any of it.
"I said I was sorry!" Zak exclaimed. He isn't mad at Darryl. Far from it, but he was getting a little scared of how mad Darryl was getting at him.
"Sorry!?" Darryl shouted. "Zak! The kitchen is an absolute mess! Why is there so much Kool-Aid powder on the floor!? And how are there pieces of bread stuck on the ceiling!? I literally just finished cleaning the house!"
Zak winced and stayed silent for a bit. This wasn't the first prank that Zak did on him ever since they moved in together. There were many pranks before this. He does like to cause some mischief after all, especially if it involved Darryl.
You’d think this would be unbearable to Darryl, but surprisingly, Zak's pranks usually don't bother him. Usually, Zak's pranks were harmless enough and he would always make sure that Darryl was okay in the end. Heck, Darryl would sometimes try to prank him back.
It was all fun and games until it was taken too far. Of course, it wasn’t Zak’s intention for it to go this way. It was just really bad luck. It was also pretty unlucky for this to happen to Darryl who was already in a horrible mood to begin with.
"H-Hey-" Zak tried to calm him down. "Look, I'm actually really really sorry. I messed up, but I'll clean up everything. You know I always fix everything after I mess around!"
“Unbelievable!” Darryl let out a noise of frustration. He has had it with Zak's shenanigans. All the other things he tolerated, but this was just absolutely ridiculous.
"Darryl please! I'm sorry! What else do you want me to do or say?!"
"Maybe you can not be such an idiot once in a while?!" Darryl angrily spat out. "I swear, am I just someone who you like to mess with all the time?! Is that all I am to you?! This is what I have to put up with all the time?!"
"Wh-.. I-…" Zak was speechless for a moment, feeling crushed. Does Darryl really think he means so little to him? And does he really annoy him that much? It was like a slap to the face.
Wait a minute.
“This is what I have to put up with all the time?”
That struck a nerve. Zak suddenly got angry and shouted back. “This is what I- What the fuck is THAT supposed to mean?!”
“You know EXACTLY what I mean when I say that! And don’t raise your voice at me!”
This argument took a turn for the worse as things started getting ugly. It went on and on for a few minutes until Darryl was the one to end it all.
“Okay. Stop it. I don’t want to hear it anymore.” Darryl said with a stern tone. Zak stayed silent with a slight frown in his face as Darryl continued to speak.
"We are supposed to go camping tomorrow morning, but if you're going to keep being this way, then I don't want to talk to you."
Zak opened his mouth and tried to say something but closed it. He crossed his arms and looked down on the floor with a heartbroken look on his face. He has never seen or heard Darryl act so cold before.
Darryl didn't dare look at Zak. He knows if he took one look at Zak's sorry face, he'd probably feel bad. Not this time though. He refused to feel sorry for him.
"I-I'll clean it all up." Zak broke the silence, mumbling probably the 20th apology for tonight. "I'm sorry..."
Darryl stayed quiet while carefully walking over the broken pile of plates and a broken picture frame. "Goodnight, Zak." He said with bitterness in his voice.
As Darryl closed the door, Zak looked around the kitchen taking it all in. He looked at the clock. 9:00pm… This was going to take forever. He should probably start with fixing the sink.
He looked at Darryl's door, fighting back tears and holding himself back from going inside. Darryl needs some time alone right now.
He messed up.. he messed up so badly..
Darryl was laying on his bed, trying to calm himself down. A part of him did feel like he went too far, but he doesn't care right now.
He was so tired. He was so fed up with his tomfoolery.
Moments like these just make him not want to see his face ever again. He was that frustrated. He lays there alone with his thoughts until he slowly, finally drifts to sleep.
-
The both of them were at the campsite that Zak has talked about. It looked like Zak was excited to be here. He has talked to him about how his family took him and his sister here many times as a child.
Darryl was a little surprised how experienced Zak was. It was like he knew this place like the back of this hand as it seemed like they explored every part of the forest preserve.
The camp was set up surprisingly fast. It was pretty nice spending time just hiking through the forest. It felt like time passed by too quickly when they both realized it was already starting to get dark.
They headed back to the campsite. Darryl noticed that Zak already set up the campfire, along with a water bucket to put it out later.
Time went by, and it was now completely dark. Darryl was busy roasting marshmallows by the fire before he noticed Zak grinning across from him.
"Hey, do you wanna hear something scary?" He eagerly asked him.
Darryl frowned a little. "No ghost stories around the campfire Zak."
"Aww come on!" Zak whined. "Please? My dad told me this story before when I was young. It was really good!"
"So does that mean it isn't that scary?" Darryl hoped.
"Huh? Oh, no." Zak laughed a little. "That dumb story terrified me back then."
"Oh my goodness." Darryl let out a groan, feeling like he was going to regret this. "Okay, just make it quick."
Zak beamed. He grabbed a flashlight, turned it on, and held it below his face to get into the mood.
Darry felt himself shiver. He swore the world around him became so dark that the only things he saw were the campfire, and Zak as he had a frightening smile before beginning the story.
"Once upon a time, there was a young lady who lived in the forest. She fell in love with a young man, who she thought was really cute and sweet. But it had always seemed that the man wasn't aware of her feelings, until that fateful day..."
"To her surprise, he suddenly asked her to meet him by the river which was a part of the forest. He told her to come alone, wanting to tell her something important. She was so excited, daydreaming and hoping that it was a love confession."
Darryl hugged himself a little, knowing that things weren't going to end well.
"She showed up early, eagerly waiting for him to come. She stood there, waiting for hours… until he finally showed up. She smiled wide, so happy to see him. But her smile slowly turned to a look of confusion."
"He brought his friends over...why? She thought they were meeting up alone. But before she could ask, all of them suddenly started to laugh."
"'Wow! I can't believe she's still here! How pathetic!' One of his friends sneered."
"Her face fell. How could they do this to her? She broke into tears when she heard her crush speak up."
"'Yeah! I can't believe she thought that I would ever date her!' His friends cruelly laughed harder as the man she thought she loved walked up to her."
"She slowly stepped backwards as her tears blinded her. He pushed her, making her fall into the river. Everyone ran off afterwards, not knowing the full consequence of what they've done.. None of them knew that the woman couldn't swim."
"None of them knew that he murdered her."
Darryl was mortified as he clearly envisioned the scenario. He was too focused on Zak's story that he forgot about the marshmallows he finished roasting.
"Years passed, and the same guy and his friends have forgotten all about her. They went on a camping trip.. just like us.. to the same forest he drowned her in."
"Things were fine until he noticed that his friends started disappearing.. one.. by.. one. At first, he assumed that his friends just decided to ditch him, but then he felt that something was wrong. He can't find any of them now."
"It was getting darker as he was still looking for his friends, until he suddenly found something peculiar. Something.. or someone was emitting a bright glow into the river."
"Like a moth being drawn to a flame, he couldn't help but be memorized by it.. He went closer and closer until suddenly, BAM!"
Darryl flinched a little by Zak's sudden loud noise.
"A pair of arms suddenly pulled him into the river! The man couldn't do anything to escape before it happened, it was already too late."
"Whatever that was, grabbed him by the neck. It tightly and painfully dug its nails deep into his neck. The man failed around in fright. As he opened his eyes, he suddenly realized a familiar looking face."
"That glowing figure, had that woman's face. That woman he pushed in long, long ago. She had tears streaming down her face… and she looked angry."
"Showing absolutely no mercy to him, she kept him underwater. And he slowly suffered a long and painful death… Some say that her angry spirit still seeks for prey up north where the river resides in this forest."
"Wait, what?!" Darryl exclaimed. "Are you saying that the forest she died in, is in this forest we are in right now?!"
He heard a dark chuckle from Zak, something Darryl has never even heard from him. "Maybe. Coincidently, dead bodies have been found by that river a few times over the years. They all died from drowning. They were all men too."
"Oh my goodness then why did you take us here?!" Darryl frantically said, getting more scared then he already was.
Zak turned off the flashlight and chuckled to lighten things up. "Dude, don't tell me you actually believe in this."
"It doesn't matter if I do or don't, Zak! Any sane person would stay away from places that have dead bodies lying around! What if we get hurt or worse?!"
Zak only chuckled more. "Calm down dude, there isn't anything that's gonna- OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT BEHIND YOU!?" He suddenly shrieked out.
Darryl screamed and jumped from where he’s sitting, accidentally kicking the water bucket over which put out the fire. He looked behind him and saw… nothing.
As soon as he heard Zak's laughter, his fear turned into frustration. "Skeppy that was not funny!" Darryl shouted.
Zak was still giggly as he calmed down a bit. "I'm sorry.. oh my god. You have to admit that was good!"
"No it wasn't! You scared me! I thought we were in danger!!"
"That story is made up!" Zak cleared his throat, completely calm now. "There's no freaky woman that died in the river, you have nothing to worry about!"
"Are you serious?!" Darryl groaned. "You made me jump and put out the fire, you jerk!"
"Don't worry! I'll just get some more wood to burn and another bucket of water. We're fine!"
Darryl only sighed in response, glaring at him. They sat in silence for a moment. Zak slightly frowned, but then smiled apologetically.
"I’m sorry.. I'll be right back." Zak said softly before taking his flashlight and leaving.
Darryl wasn't even sure if he wanted to stay up anymore. He just feels like going inside the tent right now. Sitting in silence for what seemed like a few minutes, he suddenly heard a blood curdling scream.
He quickly stood up. That sounded like Zak screaming. "Zak? ..Zak y-you better not be messing with me.. I swear-"
"DARRYL HELP! SOMEONE HEL-" A big splash was heard in the distance.
"Zak?!" Darryl grabbed his backpack and immediately started running. "ZAK?!"
He ran deeper into the forest with no flashlight, running as fast as he could. Panic taking over, he cannot recall where to find the river. He was desperately trying to hear where Zak’s screams were coming from.
"Crud, crud crud. Crud!" Darryl swears that this forest has become even harder to navigate through. Even though he was running as fast as he could, he felt like he was going nowhere.
He heard Zak's desperate cries for help coming from a separate path before hearing complete silence. Darryl tripped and fell before quickly getting up and running another direction.
"ZAK?! WHERE ARE YOU?! CAN YOU HEAR ME!? ZAK!" He didn't hear anything else before he finally stumbled upon the river. He saw the bucket that Zak took, laying on the ground.
But no Zak.
Darryl was panting, frantically looking around. That's when he saw it… No way. This wasn't possible... This wasn't real.
Something was glowing in the water. And it was exactly like he imagined it. It was the same thing in Zak’s story.
Darryl almost ran in the opposite direction, fearing for his life before he saw something else in the water. He saw him. She had Zak captive underwater.
SHE HAD ZAK.
Having another rush of adrenaline, he grabbed a pocket knife in his bag, and jumped into the water, screaming out in both fear and rage.
"LET HIM GO!"
The spirit was confused to see another person jump in before shrieking in pain as Darryl managed to stab her arm.
It was like a game of tug of war between the two. But because Darryl was being relentless, she eventually backed off, letting go of Zak.
Darryl wrapped his arms around Zak and swam upwards to the shore. Once they were out of the water, he slowly dropped Zak and kneeled on the ground, shaking and gasping for breath.
While he wasn’t looking, the spirit came up from the surface, going towards the both of them.
Before she could drag Zak's body into the water again, Darryl noticed her and quickly dragged him far away from the water.
Even though he was absolutely horrified, he held the pocket knife in his hand as a threat. She stared at him angrily as he carried Zak's limp body away.
When he was sure that he got out of her sight, he gently placed Zak on the ground, catching his breath once again.
“Zak? ..Are you okay? ..Can you answer me?” He looked at him. Zak wasn’t moving an inch. Darryl immediately feared the worse.
He held him in his arms, shaking him a little. “Zak? ...H-Hey, please wake up.. geppy?”
He couldn’t hear him breathing.
His hand trembled as he checked for a pulse.
...Nothing.
Tears started falling from his face. “No.. nonononono. Zak, don’t do this. Don’t do this to me. D-Don’t leave me like this.”
Darryl tried to perform CPR in a desperate attempt to revive him. It wasn’t working. He knows that it wasn’t working. But he was still doing it, refusing to give up on him so easily.
“Zak?!” More tears started falling out as he stared at his body in disbelief. “You.. You muffin head!” Darryl started to shout.
“If you don’t wake up right now, I’m never going to forgive you! You hear me?! I-I’ll never forgive you!”
His voice started to crack as he trembled even more, attempting to do CPR once again. Tear droplets hitting Zak’s face.
“I’m never going to forgive myself if you died because of me, Zak! Please! Say something! Please tell me that you’re faking it! Please tell me this is a horrible troll! P-Please!”
Unforgivable cold dead silence.
“No.. no..” He broke down and hugged Zak tightly as if his life depended on it, choking out sobs. How could he let this happen?
Even with his blurry vision, he thought he saw something glowing from the corner from his eye. Did the spirit manage to follow him? Darryl doesn't know, but he doesn’t care.
“I’m sorry.. I’m so so sorry.. Z-Zak..” He barely whispered out.
He wanted him back. He wanted to see his muffin full of life again.
-
Darryl jolted awake, sitting upwards from his bed. He was breathing heavily, wiping the tears that were falling from his eyes. What a horrible nightmare...
He curled up, shaking.. taking a moment to process that it was only a dream. A terrible dream that felt way too real at first. He took out his phone to look at the time. It was 1:00am. He wasn’t going to go back to sleep at this rate.
He got out of bed and walked out of his bedroom. The moment he stepped out, he was surprised to see the kitchen, remembering that it was a total wreck before. But now it was as if nothing happened at all. In fact, it looked better than before.
The kitchen table caught his eye since there were flowers in a vase that wasn’t there before. He walked up to take a closer look at it and found out there was a note in front of the vase. Curious, he picked it up and read it.
“Hey! Good morning Darry! Hope you’re feeling a little better after last night. I’m still really sorry about that. It’s not much, but I hope these flowers cheer you up a little bit. I also bought a new picture frame in order to replace the broken one. When I wake up, you can tell me if you still want to go camping together.”
Darryl’s eyes trailed off to the side. He didn’t even notice the picture frame near the flowers. He picked the picture frame up. The picture… The picture was the both of them smiling happily into the camera. It was taken on the day they first saw each other in person. He looked back at the note.
“I’m sorry that you have to put up with me sometimes. -Zak <3”
Darryl felt even worse as he started to feel an awful amount of guilt. Tears were welling up again. He looked across the hallway and laid his eyes on Zak’s room.
Zak was laying on his bed, half asleep. He was exhausted, taking over three hours to clean up his mess and set up the few new things for Darryl. He was just about to fall asleep until he heard his door open.
He turned to his side, slowly opening his eyes. “Darryl?..” Zak looked at him warily until he sat up in both confusion and concern when he noticed that Darryl was crying. “Are you.. okay?”
Darryl still wasn't over the nightmare that he had. Even though it didn’t happen and he already knew Zak was fine, he was so relieved to see his face. He wrapped his arms around him tightly, sobbing quietly.
Zak didn’t know what to say at first. He didn’t know why or how Darryl was this emotional. As he hugged him back, he felt Darryl squishing him even tighter. “D-Darry? What’s going on? ..Can’t breathe.”
“I’m sorry.” Darryl quietly said, loosening his grip on him. “I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m-”
“Woah woah, Jesus Christ dude.” Zak let go of Darryl to look at his face that was covered in tears and frowned. “What the heck happened? Why are you crying? Sorry for what?”
“For being a dumb.. muffin head..” He wiped his eyes. “I-Idiot.. I’m.. I didn’t mean it. I-I didn’t mean any of it. I’m sorry..” He whined.
Darryl hugged him again, hiding his face against his chest. Zak looked down on him with a soft sad look on his face. He was still mumbling “I’m sorry” over and over again.
Zak wrapped his arms around him, ruffling Darryl's hair a little. "Darryl, it's fine. I'm okay."
"No, it's not fine!" Darryl cried out. "If I wasn't being such an i-idiot, I would've helped you clean instead of ignoring you like a jerk... 'Putting up with you all the time.' ..W-Why did I say that?!"
Zak felt himself tear up a little. Because yes, that did hurt a little bit hearing that from him, but he wasn't expecting Darryl to be this distraught about it. Zak already knows that he didn't fully mean it.
"Aww Darry.." Zak rubbed his own eyes before hugging Darryl a little tighter, speaking softly. "Aren't you being a little harsh on yourself? This is all you're upset about? I'm not even mad about it anymore."
"I-I'm sorry.." Darryl sniffled. "This might sound silly but.. I also had a really bad nightmare a-and," he started to tremble again. "I really thought I lost you."
Even though Zak didn’t fully understand, he continued to reassure him. "It's alright Darryl.. I'm here if you want to talk about it. I'm here for you.."
Zak still had both arms wrapped around him, lightly resting on his head. Darryl silently sat still, calming down to the sound of his slow breathing. After a few minutes, he opened up about his bad dream.
He recalled how they were both camping in the woods. He remembered the ghost story and how it ended up being "real." And worst of all, how Zak.. slipped away from him.
Zak stayed silent and listened to every word. He would hug Darryl tighter if he was starting to get emotional again at some parts. Once he was done, Zak gently cupped his face as he looked him straight in the eyes.
"You don't ever have to worry about losing me. Okay?"
Darry felt more tears falling as he held back a smile. "You muffin head. Are you trying to make me cry more?"
Zak slowly started to smile, still having a hold on Darryl’s face as he gently pinched his cheeks. "Besides, even if you try to push me away, I'm not going anywhere.."
He pulled himself closer to Darryl to make their noses touch. "..whether you like it, or not." Zak grinned.
Darryl smiled as he wiped his face one last time. A light chuckle came from him. "You know what? ..I think I won't mind if I'm stuck with you."
"Good!" Zak let out a short laugh before hugging him again, peppering one side of his face with small kisses.
Darryl was caught off guard until he felt himself melt. The sudden affection from Zak wasn't expected and as a result, it made him giggly. He slightly tried to squirm away from him, but he was trapped in Zak's arms.
Zak felt his own heart melting as he heard just pure adorableness. He'd prefer Darryl's giggles over Darryl's crying any day.
"I'm afraid you're stuck with me, Darry.." Zak giggled, continuing his kissing attack. Darryl squirmed even more, but to no avail. He was stuck as a giggling mess.
"Okay, okahahay! I gehehet it!" He gave up squirming in favor of trying to cover his flustered face from Zak.
Zak slowly came to a stop and smiled. "Happy now?"
Darryl was still giggling, but he nodded yes.
Zak let out a hum of content and took hold of Darryl's hands. "You know, you really didn't have to apologize to me. I did basically destroy the kitchen."
"I know but I felt so bad.." Darryl whined a little. "I was being mean.."
"Oh my god." Zak laughed. "Okay, then we're both idiots. There." The both of them giggled at this, happy that the atmosphere became light-hearted.
"I'll take it easy with the pranks, Darryl." He gently squeezed his hands. "I'm sorry."
Darryl smiled and squeezed back. "I'm sorry too. I'll try to watch my temper around you." He smirked a little. "Even though you make it hard for me to not lose my marbles."
Zak laughed. "Okay, you know what? That's fair."
Darryl sighed as he hugged Zak, cuddling beside him. He felt like staying, not wanting to leave Zak's side. Zak didn't mind, he looked at his phone checking the time.
Zak groaned a little. "I think we're going to be too tired to go camping later today."
"Oh my goodness, that almost slipped my mind… Should we reschedule it?"
"I think we should." Zak smiled. "I don't mind."
It was silent for a while. They were looking into each other's eyes and were completely exhausted.
"I'm so lucky I have you.." Darryl mumbled.
Zak's eyes widened and his face flushed before he burst out giggling. "You idiot.. that's my line."
Darryl giggled out tiredly in response. After a few minutes, they finally fell asleep after a long night.. hand in hand.
And the best part? No nightmares took place this time.

Sooo I was re reading hungry part 2 and I saw the part where you wrote about link making Amelia walk around Home Good and Lowe’s while she was heavily pregnant and I was wondering if you could write a fic about that? Hope your staying safe!
rocking chair
thanks so much for the prompt, i had a lot of fun writing this i hope everyone’s doing well and staying safe!
“Hey babe.” Link whispered as he shook his girlfriends shoulder, trying to lull her out of sleep.
“Leave me alone.” She grumbled into the pillow, turning away from him. He chuckled at her grumpiness, shaking her again. “Geez, what do you want?” She snapped.
“We’ve gotta go shopping for the apartment.” They had recently moved into an apartment together, before their son arrived. He was expected to come in 3 weeks and Link wanted to get everything in order while all Amelia wanted to do at this point was curl up into a ball until the baby came.
“Nooooooooo.” She whined turning around to face him.
“We have to. The baby can’t come home to an empty apartment.” Link chuckled at his girlfriends sleepiness.
“We have furniture, and we have baby things, why can’t we just order the other stuff online?”
“First off we’ve waited too long to do this, so stuff won’t get her in time, and secondly you can’t rely on the internet you have to go and see the stuff, and there are DIY projects I want to do. We’ve gotta make this place homey.”
“Hell no Link. I’m not going to walk around the store with you so you can get stuff for projects you’ll never do.”
“Come on babe, it’ll be so much fun. And we can get you a soft pretzel on the way to the store.” Amelia perked up at the mention of a pretzel. After some time Amelia reluctantly agreed to the excursion.
_______________________________________
“Ready babe?” Link asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt.
“Can’t I wait in the car?”
“Come on it’ll be fun.” Amelia rolled her eyes and begrudgingly got out of the car. She held onto her boyfriends arm and leaned against his shoulder, they had just begun and she was already tired.
“What do we need?” She wanted to try and make this excursion as quick as they could, so she wanted to assure she kept him on task.
“I’ve gotta make two key copies, paint for the baby’s room, some tile backsplash for the kitchen, some lightbulbs and a new light fixture for the living room.” The neurosurgeon sighed, she could tell the was going to be a long trip.
“After this can we get a pretzel.”
“I promised didn’t I?” Link chuckled absentmindedly, as he compared paint swatches. “So we decided on light green for the nursery right? Which on do you like better?”
“I don’t care whatever you want.”
“Alright.” Link sighed, staring to realize his girlfriend was going to be of no help. “This one then.”
“No that’s the wrong one.” The neurosurgeon dramatically sighed, picking up the paint swatch she thought would be best in the room.
“I thought you didn’t care?”
“That was when I thought you were gonna make the right choice.” Her boyfriend chuckled wrapping his arm around her.
“Come on this is so much fun isn’t it?” Link asked as they walked through the tile isle, he took out his phone to look at the pictures he took of the kitchen to try and see what would look best in their kitchen.
“No, my feet are swollen, I’m hungry, and I want to take a nap.”
“I promise we’ll get pretzels after this.” He smiled charmingly.
_______________________________________
“Link why do we have to do this?” Amelia complained as she trailed behind her boyfriend in Home Goods. “We have a couch, bed, crib, and changing table at home already this is unnecessary.”
“We’ve got to make it homey, babe.” Link wrapped his arm around her, trying to help her keep up the pace.
“I like our cold cave.”
“See wouldn’t this mirror look cute in the entryway?” Link asked pointing to one on a shelf.
“I don’t care, whatever you want.”
“Come on, lighten up. We’ve gotta make the apartment our home, it’s gotta have a little something.”
“I’ll lighten up once this bowling ball is out of me.” Amelia bit back, starting to lose her patience. Link kept grazing down the aisles, his girlfriend trudging along. “Can’t we sit down?”
“We’re almost done.” He got distracted with another item. The tired neurosurgeon sighed and walked away from him, and towards the front of the store where a bench was. She carefully lowered herself down onto the bench and sighed, she was tempted to fake contractions but she knew Link would take her to the hospital, as she was plotting in excuse an older woman then sat down next to her.
“Your husband drag you here?” The woman asked whilst smiling.
“Yeah.” Amelia chuckled, not bothering to correct the woman that it was her boyfriend.
“My husband drags me here all the time. Any home improvement store for that matter, it’s keen like this our whole marriage. Never made me when I was pregnant though, I would’ve killed him if he did that.” Amelia chuckled, as much as she loved her boyfriend she was at her wits ends with his restlessness. “With the first baby they have all this nervous energy, that they don’t know what to do with, so they do home improvement projects.” Amelia winced at the assumption that this was her first baby. “Our first, she’s 25 now, God that’s crazy to say, but he made this rocking chair himself. I remember we had this big fight, I can’t even remember what about, but I told him to get out. So he went out the front door and I cried and cried thinking he’d actually left, but in actuality he was out back in his shed building that chair. Throughout the years he’s made amazing things for our home but that’s by far my favorite.”
“That’s sweet.” Amelia smiled melting a little bit at the sweet story.
“I lied to you.” The woman said, Amelia crooked her eyebrow; confused. “My husbands dead, I just come here to feel him.”
“I’m so sorry.” Amelia sobered up a bit.
“It’s okay, he died of what the doctors said was something called a brain aneurysm. When the doctors tried to explain it they used all these fancy terms. I think that’s what upset me the most, they could see I was distraught but didn’t even dumb it for me. He was completely healthy, the day before he was at the doctors clean bill of health, how could they of not caught it? For how smart they acted, I couldn’t believe they missed it.”
“Their hard to detect, a lot of the time there are no symptoms, until it’s too late.”
“Oh, are you a doctor? I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“No offense taken, I get it. As interns we’re taught a list of bullet points, and they give you all that crap about being sensitive but that doesn’t resonate with a lot of people, until they’ve lost someone they love.”
“Would you mind explaining to me what a brain aneurysm is?”
“Of course.” Amelia nodded turning to face her a bit better. “There are blood vessels in your brain, and if one of them gets weak, it then kinda acts like a balloon and fills up until it bursts.” The woman simply nodded, indicating she understood, starting to understand better.
“What kind of doctor are you?”
“I’m a neurosurgeon.”
“So you see those all the time?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Are they ever detected early?”
“It depends. Sadly in most cases it’s too late and the aneurysm bursts, sometimes if it starts leaking you can clip it and fix the issue.”
“Thank you.” The woman nodded, shooting her a sad smile. “May I ask why you became a doctor?”
“Well all my siblings are doctors, so I guess it never really occurred to me to do something else, but I think we’re all doctors because our dad died when we were younger, in some way thinking we could change what happened I guess.”
“It helps when you start to accept the things you can’t change.” Amelia immediately noticed the phrase, it was from the serenity prayer.
“I hope you don’t mind me asking but are you in A.A?”
“I am, I haven’t been in awhile. I know it’s not the best to be in a relationship with another alcoholic but I think we kept each other in check, and were sober for each other.”
“Im in AA too.” Amelia smiled, watching the woman relax a bit. “If you want to we can go together.”
“You know, I’d very much enjoy that. I really should be going, the want to drink has been lurching over me since his death. Thank you.”
“Of course.” Amelia smiled as she took out a pen and piece of paper from her bag to write her number on and handed it to the woman.
“Thank you dear.”
“Sorry about that babe, you ready?” Link asked his girlfriend as he spotted her on the bench.
“Yeah.” Amelia nodded slowly standing up. “I’m sorry I don’t think I caught your name.”
“Louise. And yours?”
“Amelia. It was really nice to meet you.”
“Likewise, I’ll send you a text message later dear.” Amelia nodded and walked out of the store with her boyfriend.
“Who was that?”
“My friend.” Amelia smiled to herself. “I’m sorry for being cranky earlier.”
“No I’m the one that’s sorry. I dragged you to a bunch of different stores and we still haven’t got you that pretzel.” Link chuckled as he placed the bags into the trunk and closed it. “And your 8 months pregnant and exhausted.”
“No it’s okay.” Amelia smiled once he got into the drivers side and buckled his seatbelt. “What were you planning on building for the baby?”
“Well I know your tired so I’m gonna get you that pretzel and drop you off at home, but I’m probably go to ikea and get a rocking chair.” Amelia perked up to this and smiled.
“No don’t go to ikea, you should build it.”
“Well yeah, they give you all the parts there.”
“No you should build it from scratch.”
“What happened to the online shopping Amelia?”
“Come on wouldn’t it be really sweet?”
“I haven’t really built anything like that since high school wood shop, but I guess I can figure it out.” Link smiled, happy Amelia was starting to appreciate the DIY side of him. “You know what I think I will.”
“Thank you.” Amelia smiled, relaxing into the seat. “I have the best boyfriend ever.”
“And I have the best girlfriend ever.”
“That’s correct.” Amelia smirked.

Baby Universe (Steven Universe)
Peedee wasn't sure what made him go over to Steven's house. It wasn't like he normally went up there, when Steven wanted to hang out he came into town. Still with the restaurant closed while they were fixing the freezer he had nothing better to do. and as it would turn out, the walk would be MORE then worth it.
Steven was enjoying a rare bit of time alone for a change, and was taking advantage of it. It wasn't that he didn't like the gem,s they were like three mom's to him, but just sometimes he needed time alone. double so since his little fetish had kicked itself into overdrive as puberty was hitting him and while the Gem's didn't seem to care, Steven still had a hard time bringing himself to wear his shameful fetish gear while they were home. Said fetish gear wasn't as bad as it could of been, it wasn't like he was wearing 30 pounds of leather or dressing up like a fox to go and yiff, Nope, all Steven wanted to do was wear thick crinkly diapers, and usually up to half a pack at a time so he could barely waddle. This of course HAD led to him being busted by the gem's in the past, but once they were convinced he was ok and didn't NEED the diapers, they left it alone and passed it off as one of those 'human things.' Today with the place to himself Steven already had 4 tena's on and was wiggling his butt in the mirror and trying to decide if he should keep it safe and just add anther 2 or go for broke and add 6 more. it would be all of his remaining diapies and he wouldn't be able to get more for awhile which was the only reason he was hesitating. Still, Nothing ventured, nothing gained and he decided to go with as thick as possible and went to work. He was JUST getting the last diaper on, sitting on the floor and touage hanging out in effort when there was a knock on the front door and without thinking about it, Steven called out. "It's open!" and then slapped his hands on his mouth, having JUST got the last tape on.
Peedee smiled and walked in, he had assumed as much but had been taught manners so naturally had knocked. "Hey Steven, i was wondering if you wanted to..hang..out..Why's it smell like half a bottle of baby powder in here?" the slimmer boys asked, heading for the stairs and sniffing. "N-No reason! you should just go home! I'm sick!" Steven's panicked voice range out and then as Peedee got to the top of the stairs he was treated to the side of Steven's pamper clad butt sticking out, the top half of Steven was trying to hide under his bed. Without even pausing to think about it Peedee took out his cellphone and started to snap pictures. "Nice pampers Steven~ Did your mommies diapie you up nice and safe and sound before going out for more?" Peedee asked in a mocking tone. "J-Just get out of here or I-I'll-" Steven stammered, trying to think of a threat. "You'll what? make a stinky boom boom? doesn't look like baby Steven has any more diapies though so you'll hafa sit in your boom boom till they get back." Peedee laughed. the taunt had the desired result of Steven coming out from under the bed and glaring at Peedee, but all that did was let the slimmer boy get a snap shot of Steven's face to go with his butt and then clicked on his phone. "Andddd saved to my cloud. So if you get any ideas about trying to snatch my phone away tubby, it's doomed to fail." Peedee said, chuckling. Here he was, in shorts and a muscle shirt, slender and lanky but at least looking his age while Steven was a tubby little butter ball who was older then him but between his baby face and well.. BABY PANTS he looked so much younger. "ngggh..what do you want." Steven huffed, hands balled up into fists but staying his ground. "I wanna go and have LOTS of fun with the big baby, In town. if your a good boy, I won't tell anyone about your diapies. if your bad, I'll pants you in the middle of the amusement park. but if your a super good boy, I'll get you a new pack of diapies." Peedee said. Steven huffed and whined, but it wasn't really like he had a choice in the matter and after sulking, nodded.
the tricky part for heading out and keeping baby Steven in his bulky diapers was finding something to go over them, which between the boys chub and the massive thickness of the diapers was proving to be next to impossible. "well geez, if we can't cover them I'll just have to stay home. shucks, that sucks sooo much." Steven said, shrugging his shoulder and smirking while Peedee dug though a box of old clothes. "Don't count me out yet, I'll find so- AHA!" Peedee said, and held up a old hula skirt of Greg's (what it was doing there was anyone's guess) "This should cover your thick crinkly butt, at least as long as you don't bend over or there isn't too much of a breeze." Peedee said and smirked. "...ah poop." Steven whined.
the skirt actually did a fairly decent job of hiding the diapers for the most part, if anything was giving Steven away as they made their way into town the was the waddling and the crinkling Steven was doing plus his face being beat red. Thankfully most people just assumed it was from wearing the hula skirt and chuckled and told Steven and Peedee how cute they looked as they headed for fun land. "I swear to god, everyone know!" Steven mewed holding onto Peedee's arm for comfort even though the slimmer boy was the cause of all of his suffering. "now now, enough of that! Unless you want me to go and take you dress shopping thats the best your gonna get." Peedee said, though a evil look came over his face as he said it. "Uhh nope! I'm good! Let's go get some cotton candy!" Steven mewed. "Oh like you need MORE candy tubby~" Peedee teased and poked a finger into Steven's flab. "Come on, we'll go play a few games then go and get the baby a dress..and of course lots of new diapies." Peedee said, not bothering to keep his voice down but with the noise from the crowd no one heard him. that didn't stop Steven though from wetting himself a little as he looked around, almost crying. "Don't say stuff like that out loud!" he whined, sounding like a pouty toddler. "Sheesh your grumpy..Did I snag you before your afternoon nap or something? or does somebody need a diapie change?" Peedee asked and then even as Steven tried to say no, and with people around Peedee lifted up the back of the skirt and looked quick. it was quick enough anyone watching wouldn't be quite sure of what they saw and no one was close to being able to get a picture but it had Steven in mute silence, jaw hanging open. "Hmm, just a little soggy your good." Peedee said and then noticed Steven was frozen in humiliation. "Awww is the widdle baby scared somebody saw his diapies?" Ok, the plan HAD been to drag this out, but the look on Steven's face was waking something twisted up in side of Peedee and with a crowd around and some people looking worried about Steven frozen state, Peedee smiled. "I know a solution to get rid of all that doubt!" he said cheerfully. he grabbed either side of the hula skirt and far too late Steven realized what was about to happen and hand hands moved to grab Peedee's but were FAR too late. with a yank downwards the chubby babies thick massive diapers were on full display for the crowd to see and a silence went over the park, before a eruption of laughter broke out. "oh my god, Stevens a big baby!" cried Lar's holding his belly and laughing while Sadie covered her mouth and elbowed Lar's to be polite. "Man, I knew he had baby fat, didn't think he was a baby.." Snickered sour cream. "what are you talking about, that's not baby fat, he's just a little oinker!" Jenny giggled, taking out her phone for pictures. "Man, This explains so much about how naive he is." Buck commented. "S0Steven what are you.." Came Connie's voice, and shaking and tears welling up in his eyes he turned to see her with her parents, hands on her mouth and her father trying not to laugh, while her mother was shaking her head. "I think it goes without saying you won't be hanging out with him anymore, Unless it's a babysitting job." Connie's mom said and then with a bitchy sneer added. "And Steven, I can hook you up with a dietitian if you want." it was all too much for the little piggy and Steven plopped on his butt and started to bawl, kicking his legs and rubbing his eyes just like the big baby he was dressed like. any hope that this was the worse that could happen today was soon dashed however as Peedee intended to keep the rest of his promises to the big baby, which included a new outfit and LOTS of diapers.
Any and all fight was out of Steven as he held onto Peedee's hand, walking on the board walk toward the new little miss plus that had opened up in town. it had all the same styles of outfits most other girls wore but was meant for the chunky girls, or sissies in Stevens case. It was picked because well, where else was Peedee gonna get a dress that was going to fit his little butter ball and because it was the furthest away from the only shop in town that sold diapers in any size, so Steven would be showing off his new outfit when they went to get him his diapies. walking in the young girl minding the counter burst into the later and then excused herself, her name tag said her name was sally and she was tall, about 20-25ish and had her long blond hair in a pony tail. "H-Hi, I'm Sally, H-How can i help you?" she said, the back of her hand up to her mouth and trying not to laugh as Steven's blush traveled from his chubby cheeks down his neck, he was heading for full body blush territory. "Hi, I'm Peedee and this is sissy piggy Steven. Oink for the nice lady Steven." Peedee said and swatted Steven's padded behind, making him jump and let out a loud oink. "I was wondering if you had any cute short dresses that would help hide my little piggy princess fat rolls while also letting him feel all sweet and dainty. and before you answer, this is what your working with." at that Peedee grabbed Stevens shirt and yanked up up and over his head, leaving the poor half gem in just his Bulky diapers and shoes. "pffft..I dunno.. Maybe. I-I might have to set up a video conference with my fri- other consultants so we can figure out what'll look best on the piggy, is that ok?" Sally asked Peedee, since it was clear who was in charge. Steven mewed and looked at Peedee, willing him to say no, it was clear it was just gonna be a lot of women looking at him and laughing! "oh yeah, that makes sense. go for it." Peedee chuckled and then laughed as Steven started to whimper and suck his thumb.
Half a hour later and the full body blush was going on big time, all of the women on the call where on speaker and he could heard all of their cutting comment and mocking questions. for the most part he didn't answer them though, Peedee insisted he speak for Steven who was currently sucking on a large pink costume pacifier that Sally had found in the back that had been sent there by mistake instead of a costume shop. The nipple was too big really for his mouth and so Steven had a constant line of drool going down his chin but there had been a bib too to go with the paci and it'd been tied around his neck and adjusted to go over every outfit they had Steven try on, and the bib of COURSE had to read 'Daddies baby girl' "Have you thought about trying to put him on a diet?" One lady asked. "Yeah, but the little piggy will go though the trash looking for left overs. at least when I let him eat 2 whole pizza's to himself it's not trash pizza."  Peedee lied. "Does he use his diapers for like..everything?" anther asked. "Of course. he doesn't get a diaper change till he's totally filled the front and back of his diapers or he's leaking. I'm not made of money for him to just waste them." "aww, what a lucky little piggy! I bet you love your daddy VERY much huh Steven?" A third giggled, directing her question right to Steven who locked eyes with Peedee. there was no doubt what the right answer was and if all of this had happened with him trying to be a good boy and play along, he didn't wanna think about what would happen if he was a bad boy. Steven nodded his head slowly as Sally squealed and then held out what she claimed would be the PERFECT dress for widdle piggy Steven. The top part of it had no sleeve, just little puffy bubbles in a white cream color, little indents with hot pink, then the main part of the top half of the dress was also hot pink  and had a piggy face on the front, in a little shade of pink. the skirt part of the dress clearly wasn't going to be long enough to get close to covering up his massive diapers and was white with a little piggy head print going all around it. "I totally forgot we're getting in a line of fat shaming clothes for mothers and fathers who are sick of their girls being little piggy's! what do you think Peedee? prefect?" Peedee nodded and getting the dress on Steven it pinched at his flab rolls and much as Steven had predicted, did next to nothing to cover up his diapers, at least Half of them were still on display. with his bib on the top of it but not covering up the piggy on the front of the dress Peedee also got Steven a pair of pink flat heels and then of all things, promised that Steven would pay for the clothes by modeling them off in the store window for a few hours a week! "Well, as long as I don't have to change him I'm sure that can be worked out." Sally laughed. Steven just sniffled and sucked on his paci, knowing as bad as today had been so far, it was only going to get worse.
The end, for now.

Any studying, motivation and procrastination tips please? Desperately in need of some before a new academic year starts.
Hello hello! Yes! I’m sorry I took a bit to get back to you with these - I just wanted to give you the best I got. So here ya go, I mixed up everything you asked for in a couple of strong tips. I’ve divided into preparing for the new semester, study tips, and then procrastination tips with a sprinkle of motivation all over it.
Prep:
Sooo the academic year is right around the corner (or dreadfully yet, already here), and you need to shift to get with the times. Fixing your sleep schedule? Getting your syllabus ready? That’s all important and good, but how do you keep the determination strong as the first few weeks go by? How to prepare better?
make a lessons learned note
I learnt this from my internship. It’s a good practice that after a project, you take some time to review what happened during the project and create a final report, concluding it with a couple bullet points of the lessons you learnt from it. If you need a feel of what that looks like, here’s my lessons learned from last semester:
Using OneNote is a waste of time
If you don’t keep up in the beginning, you’re going to show up for attendance and give the bare minimum to move on
You need to learn how to speak up during class - you know the answer, what’re you so nervous about?
Don’t fear marking up your books - it’s yours??? You paid for it??? Using highlighters are useful if used appropriately
Be careful about helping people - you’ve been caught four times helping friends while they kept stuff from you and got ahead
Y’all I had to stop myself lol. I planned to write my top three, but then kept clicking enter again and again. Well. Now you know my concerns.
Getting back on track though, you should take some time to write down the stuff you learned from last semester’s experience to know what you’re going to take with you, and what you’ll quit doing. It’s a strong, positive start, and it prevents you from making the same mistakes again.
delete/move stuff off your phone + organize your laptop’s folders
It’s better to keep our phones clear and ready for the new semester’s mess, right? I have a bunch of screenshots, and files, and notes on my phone that I don’t need to keep anymore, but I’m a bit of a hoarder :))) I like to keep stuff in case I wanna look back, be that girl people just know has something they’d need, or hell if I need to retake a class (it’s happened unfortunately). Maybe you got a junior you want to pass your stuff along to. So what do you do? Move it to your laptop of course!
Well, that’s what I do. If you don’t have a laptop, you can upload it somewhere (google drive etc.), attach them on emails, anything that works for you! There’s always somewhere you can put your stuff that’s private and safe.
That goes into my next point - be sure to take the time to reorganize your spaces now. Since I put it on my laptop, I organize my folders to my liking, make sure everything is where it should be with older ones, and create new ones for the coming semester. Just pop on some music, sit down and get cracking. It gives me a pleasant feeling after I look at everything when I’m done.
set up your calendar/planner!
This is a recurring tip that I think is good enough to reiterate. Whatever method you use to keep track of stuff needs to be updated, upgraded, and ready to go! If you’ve used something that failed mid-way through last semester, or you didn’t like but had to keep with it because you were in too deep, put that in your lessons learned record. Here’s your chance to change to a better system. It’s fine if you already started your new term - it’s still early enough to switch/set up a new one!
Make sure you don’t overdo it though. The point of this is to keep track of, say, assignments and quiz dates, not spend an unnecessary amount of time organizing and stuff and falling into the pit of preparing to study. If it works for you and has been working for you - keep going! But if it’s taking time and having any negative correlation to your performance, it’s better to do away with it than to keep going and have it be another lesson learnt next semester. I’ll be the first to say that I tried setting up a bujo for myself - bought markers and washi tape and all - and I gave up after three days of using it. And I set up an entire month and then some. It hurt my soul to admit that it was a waste of time for me, and not keep beating at it, but I did, and now it’s sitting here mocking me everyday. But I have time to watch it mock me ;)
My go-to organizational system: Microsoft To-do (not sponsored :((), phone’s calendar, phone’s notepad. That’s it.
create a night routine
People usually say fixing your sleep schedule and having a night/morning routine is good, but in my opinion, a night routine is stronger than both. For some reason, for the life of me, I can’t get my sleep schedule right unless some force stops me from staying awake. I tried getting in bed early and throwing my phone across the room - but I’d lay there for hours thinking about the next day so I don’t bother anymore. The morning routine just ruins my mood because I’d either fail miserably and feel worse, or feel overwhelmed. It’s better if both happen either circumstantially or organically for me.
Night routines set an easy-going mood, and it’s full of potential because it also sets the scene for the next day. By night routine, I don’t mean what you do before you sleep, I mean the consecutive things you do every night. For example, I play a round of games with my siblings (card games and board games), then shower, do my skin care routine (wash-toner-moisturizer that’s it lol), watch a video as I’m combing my hair (and then watch a couple more), feed my turtle, and then see what I want to do. Sometimes I sleep right after, other times I’m on my phone or reading a book. But just this set of recurring events calms me down when my life is chaotic, and it’s easier and more doable than morning routines for me.
Action:
Now we’ve set the scene, so it’s action time (I’m so lame).
don’t let work pass you by
In regards to studying, this is the - BIGGEST - tip I can ever give you. The ironic thing is, it’s still going to happen no matter how much you try, and that can damper your mood and your drive, but here’s my tip: MILK IT FOR ALL IT’S WORTH!!
If you know it’s going to happen eventually, don’t let it affect you - focus all your efforts not in doing it everyday, but maintaining it for as long as you possibly can. Don’t let your studies pass you for even a second. Work it like you work a job as long as you can, and you’ll end up surprising yourself on how much you had completed when you gotta review for quizzes and exams.
You know how they say exercise and earn your shower everyday? How about study and earn your play time everyday :)))
if it does, work backwards
So we’re here. You’re behind by two weeks. Like I mentioned up there, we knew we were going to end up here eventually (and if you didn’t, share your ways lol. no matter how much I cred myself with studying and getting shit done, I still don’t know what’s going on), so now what do we do? Work backwards. The prof/teach is at point S and you’re still curling the bottom of J? Start from S and go to R, then Q, then P....while maintaining the new stuff you’re learning after S. Pinch it in. We should aim to follow the class as much as we can so it’s more effective to study backwards and keep going with it. It’ll also help killing the thing that’s refusing to let you go faster with the beginning stuff, and you’ll be reviewing what you learnt in real time along with the class.
Don’t know why I said the previous tip was the best I had to offer when we both know that this one is the real G.
pathetic notes are still notes
This one is a weird one - I had an issue with notes for a beat. I have this belief that you should always make notes every class, no matter how much new stuff you learn, but then there’ll be days where I write three lines and it just hurts my soul for some reason. I guess it’s the incomplete page? The three lines I’ll add tomorrow and face this again? Not sure. But whatever it is, do not stop writing notes! If you learn something new that’s not written anywhere, or hell you just wanna jot it down somewhere more accessible, always write it down, no matter how pathetic your notebook’ll look. I had to get over that, so I thought it would be good to mention. Always. Take. Notes. Nothing is too much information on the race to securing your livelihood.
If you can’t get over it, maybe try printing the slides and making your notes on the borders. I started doing this for more technical courses that don’t get a lot of notes, and it works really well having it in one place.
(I should pin a picture, idk, I’m really proud of it.)
starting strong is good, consistency is even better
In the end, that person who walks in stronger than last semester are plenty, but the one who wins in the end is always that one person - what makes them different? They don’t watch the ones who’re running strong in the beginning and mess up their pace by either trying to keep up with them, do more, or discourage them. They maintain a consistent effort and benefit in the end. It’s the story of the hare and the turtle - consistent, slow effort beats rushing and getting out of fuel in the last stretch.
There was this one semester where it seemed like half my class decided that they were all going to be on all of a sudden, and it threw me off, made me insecure, and then I started comparing myself to them. The only thing that saved me was that I kept my consistent effort in the meantime because I had consequences if I didn’t perform - so at the end of it, it didn’t matter how hard they started. Only two out of the thirteen elevated their rank. And I was where I needed to be, so that feeling was wasted.
Well, not completely wasted now since I’m telling you. Focus on yourself. Stay consistent. It’s good to be aware of where everyone is, and use it to motivate you, but no negative feelings that’ll hold you back. Release it.
(also pro-tip: teachers don’t care about the loud ones, they care about the consistent ones)
Procrastination:
Now we got the ball rolling - how to avoid this monster? Also, if you still haven’t gotten the ball a-tumbling,
what do you fear?
Oftentimes it’s the fear of something that hinders us from starting. My common fears that keeps me procrastinating are fear of failure, fear of taking too long and wasting time, fear of finding out how little I know of the thing I haven’t learnt yet - I could keep going forever. It’s easier ignoring it and treating it like it’s not there than to face it, I know. But we wanna be better, so how can we?
Write down what you feel, get it out, and then study. A lesson I learnt from last semester was that journalling before I studied helped immensely. Just try it for a session - get out what you’re thinking about, and end it with an action item (I’m going to do xyz now) and then do it. It’s like a weight being lifted off of you. I’ve never felt so light studying in my life, I feel.
do, don’t tell yourself you will, do
shameful self plug: read this to see what I mean (specifically the you don’t need a lot to get started ramble)
don’t take on more than you can chew
Something that can kill your grind is if you overwhelm yourself by tying yourself down to things you know you won’t be able to handle later on. It kinda plays off the doing too much in the beginning - you’re setting yourself for failure if you don’t think through your decisions, and then fall into procrastination with the things that’d breed the most consequence. So be careful.
I’m not saying don’t apply yourself - it’s really good to get as much experiences (fun and useful) as you can. But don’t let it be at the expense of what matters. Your health, your faith, your studies - all these things matter more than....insert something here....yeah.
start everyday intentional, end every night with intentions
I’ll end it with this. Start your day intentional on getting stuff done, and you can cleanly avoid procrastinating. End it with good intentions for the next one, and you’ll keep this habit going. Whatever that is, finding your happy place, making a to-do list, praying, journalling, talking to someone - always try to wake up with the mindset that this’ll be your day, and end it with a pat on your back and a promise to do better - if you managed or not. Everyday is a new chance. Every midday is a chance. Now is your chance. It’s just a matter of being hungry and taking it.
Ooof I took water breaks writing this, and it still felt like I had more to say. Sorry for the length lol - I hope this helped in any way. And good luck! New semester, same you, new mindset, better results ;))  (I’m so lame lol).
By the way y’all, if you happen to be loud and consistent, share those tips also lol.
Here’s to our collective success!

Neo Cortex pt2
There will be an alternate ending with this part.
......................................................................................................................................................
  *After defeating both N.Tropies*
"Right! Now that we've wrended things, we can take you anywhere,anywhen...after we rest."-says Kapuna-Wa-"For now I can only get us as far as the culinary capital of the universe: Neon City!
"Hmm...nachos."-says Akano walking through rift with everybody.
     *In Neon City*
"Do you know any good restaurants here?"-asks Cortex
"Yeah. One of them is quite nearby, why?"-says Tawna with curious
"Oh nothing.I just want to take this beautiful lady here..."-says Cortex as he points at you-"...on a date"
You couldn't hide your blush at his statement while the rest of the gang had quite dumbfolded faces.
    *On the restaurant*
"Sooo, why so much fancy place for a date?"-you ask while sitting at the table with Neo.
"Why? Because you my dear, deserves the best."-he says taking your hand in his.-"Also as I said earlier I want to make it up to you our lost time.So I thought that romantic dinner would be a good start."
"Ohh. I didn't expect you are a romantic type."-you say and giggle
"I try. Especially for the woman I love such a long time and now she is sitting here with me."-says Noe and you colud see hearts in his eyes.
"Such a sweet-talker"
You both stared at each other for a while.
"Hmm...(Y/N)?"
"Yes?"
"Maybe it's not the time, but may I kiss you?"-he asks shyly
"O-of course. You don't need to ask"
You start to lean in and your lips met in short but sweet kiss full of love.
"I love you, (Y/N)(S/N)."-he says after breaking the kiss
"And I love you, Neo Cortex. No matter what happened. Let's eat and don't let Crash, Coco and the rest wait."
"Yes, right"
    *Timeskip* with the guys
"I liked the pickled wumpa leaves"-says Coco
"So, (Y/N), if I can ask, how was your date, hmm?"-whispers Tawna
"You know, eating , talking, just a simple date"-you answer slightly blushing
"MMhhhmm."
You rolled your eyes and smiled at her remark.
"Oh Cortex you CAD! Why did you not see it before? Muahaha!"-says Cortex while taking Kapuna-Wa with him and run
"What is he doing?"-you asks with desbelief. While Tawna and Dingodile help Crash and Coco jump on the ship
"Tawna, I need to go with them"
"You sure?"
"Yes"-you answer and jump on the ship with Tawnas and Dingodiles help.
Before you can met with both bandicoots, you saw as they jump through the rift. You jump after them and immediately recognized the place, it was Cortex castle from that night when you run with bandicoots. While you were searching for any signs of Crash or Coco, the assistants took you and placed you in the cage.
"That's how I end? I was so stupid to believe yhat he is gong to change."-you say to yourself sitting in the cage and felling tears in your eyes.
"(Y/N), love, what are you doing here?"-you look up from from the place you are sitting and see Neo
"I can ask you the same question and don't call me'love'. What are you doing? I thought you are going to change for a better bud it was a lie.."-you say with cracking voice, avoiding his gaze
"Darling ,please, let me explain. Let's talk.."
"Now you want to talk! Ok, let's talk. I have one question."
"Yes?"
"Do you really love me or it was just a lie to manipulate us with thinking that you are a good guy?"
"Of course I love and I want to be with you. I love everything about you your eyes, your hair, your smile..."
"So, why are you doing this? Can we not go back to our future and lived there without this whole circus?"
"Maybe you are right. B-but this bandicoot... I need to fix the past."-he says opening the cage and running though the corridor.
"Neo,wait!"-you yell after him but he didn't listen. You've done one thing you could do right now, go out of the cage to find Crash and Coco and stop Cortex.'Why you have to be so stubborn Cortex?'
        *Timeskip*After final fight with Cortex
"Not like this."-future Neo says lying on the floor before boxes lands on his head
"Hmm, must 've taken a hit to the old temporal lobe. But a fallen foe can only mean one thing...it came to blows and I WON."-his past self says before he ran to exit-"My new Generals first order of business will be to dispose of you."
"You..Stay"-says Akano crushing Cortex on the floor
"Ugh..what are you going to do to me?-says Cortex
"Nuh-uh-uh! Looks like somebody needs a little time out..."-says Kapuna
"...somewhere he can cause any trouble"-says Lani-Loli
"Enjoy the end of the universe!"-says Ika-Ika. But before they throw Cortex into the rift, you run to the room.
"Guys,wait! Leave him."
"What!? What are you doing, (Y/N)?"-asked Coco
"Maybe it will sound stupid but despite what he did I still love him, even when he broke my heart few hours ago because of this. I will take care of him."-you assure them
"Do what you think is right."-says Aku-Aku
"Thank you. Kapuna, can you and others transport us back to our times and drop me and Neo to mu home? It will be great!"
"No problem."
Before you go with Cortex, you turn around to the others.
"Guys, you are free to visit in any time you want. You know where to find me."
"Of course (Y/N) and thanks for the help."-says Coco
        *Your house*( some random island)
"Oh thank you,(Y/N)..."-Cortex starts with sigh of relief
"Shh, don't say a word right now! I still consider if I want to slap you because of what you did or kiss you because I run at time to save you."-you say angry not looking at him.
"I would prefer the second option."-he whispers
"You want to know why I saved you, because I must be kind-hearted or stupid to still have a soft spot for you. Even when you broke my heart because of your ambition and stuborness."-you sat sadly at the table and stare at your hands. Neo seeing this came to your side, take your hand and give it the light kiss.
"I'm so sorry, darling. I didn't want to upset you. Please, my love, don't cry. I did what I did because I couldn't stand thwe thought I let you go that day and I wanted to get rid of this bandicoots and stop you from leaving."-Neo says
"But,I thought that you were happy that we reunite after this long time."
"I was and I am happy. Believe me. Now , I know that I was so selfish. And I only hurt you, the woman I love. Please, will you forgive, my love? I promise I will never do such things again."-he says while peppering your hand with kisses and squeezing it lightly.
You look at him in the eyes and see sorrow and regret. You squeezed back his hand which hold yours and curl lips in a small smile.
"Neo, honey. I believe you and I forgive you."-you say and lean in to kiss his cheek
"Thank you,(Y/N).For giving me a second chance."-he says with smile and kiss you happily giving you a hug. You hugged back and both of you stay like this for a while enjoying the moment. Until you decided to break the silence.
"So, do you want a small detour around the house? You will live here with me after all."-you say smiling at him
"I would be honored, darling."
       *Timeskip* few months later
During this months Cortex did everything to show how much he cherish you and love  you to prove that he is a better man. Crash and the others payed you a visit a few times and were in complete shock seeing as Cortex change his attitude.
Now you are sitting on a comfortable chair and read a book at peace. A the same time Neo is outside and hold a small ,velvet box with a beautiful ring inside in his hand. His head is clouded by many thoughts. 'If it's to early for this, if you say yes, what if you say no.'
You look up from your book and look at his back.'He stands there quite a long time. Is something wrong?'-you thought and stand to meet him outside.
"Honey, is everything alright? You stand here for a while. I'm started to worry."-you say with concern, walking to him. When he heard your voice, he quickly hide box in his pocket and turn around to face you with smile.
"My love, yes, everything is fine. You don't need to worry. I just need some fresh air that's all."-he say scratching the back of his neck
"Okaay. But please, tell me if something is bothering you."
"Actually there is one thing."-he say, taking your hands and kneel on one knee.Your eyes went wide and you stand still and waiting for him to continue.-"(Y/N), love of my life. I know it may be a little to early but I can't wait any longer to ask you this question. Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?"
"Neo Periwinkle Cortex, of course I will marry you."-you say and kiss him. He kissed back and smile , showing you the velvet box and sliding ring on your finger.
"Just think.Soon we will get married and after that there will be little children running around the house."
"I thought, I am the woman in this relationship."-you laugh lightly at his comment.-"But, if you want to, we could speed up a little part with children."
"What!? Like, r-right now ?"-he asks with shock and amazement. You only nod, take his hand and drag him to your shared bedroom.

eric sohn x reader
description. Being away from your family for Christmas, you decided to stay at a guest house for a week. Though the time you spent there wasn’t quite what you expected when another person apparently booked the same place as well.
genre. FLUFF, angst, strangers to lovers au
word count. 5.3k~
warnings. nonee
a/n. i wanted to try writing for the boyz so here’s my first one! i’ll try to be as accurate as possible with the personality but please excuse me if its not because im new to their fandom but i’d love to write about other groups than nct sooo
Tumblr media
You aimlessly scrolled through the options available to you on the app. The different houses flying in a blur while you scrolled your thumb up and scanned your eyes over the description of each listing.
You would love to spend Christmas with your family but they knew it would be a hassle for you to fly to them and only staying there for a month before flying back. Instead, they urged you to have fun on your own for the holidays, not being cooped up in your apartment.
After browsing for at least thirty minutes, you finally found a house that suited your liking. The house faced a beautiful beach scenery. It was large and spacious. The facilities around it provided you with lots of fun things that’ll occupy your week’s stay there.
After looking over the listing once more to ensure that it’s the confirmed option you wanted, you wasted no time to type in your credit card information and waited for the confirmation email to appear in your inbox.
Tumblr media
You were definitely going to have fun here.
The moment you stepped in, you were greeted with places like food courts, cafes, an arcade, and lots more. As a person who liked spending time alone, you appreciated how the facilities would keep you busy and not being bored during your stay.
You made your way over to your assigned house. Just when you were footsteps away from it, you stopped in your tracks when you saw a guy lounging on the couch through the large wall sized window that gave a clear view of the living room. Your eyes flicker to the top right of the window where it showed your house number, looking down at your phone to do a double check.
It was your house without a doubt.
Confused as to what was going on in front of your eyes, you decided to head over to the reception to try and ask for assistance. Unfortunately, it wasn’t too helpful.
“Sorry I can’t do anything about it. Fix it yourself.” The young teenage boy said, chewing a gum in his mouth and fully concentrated with whatever he was playing on his phone.
You heaved a quiet sigh. “Can I at least talk to your manager or something? It’s probably a mix up and-”
You stopped when his eyes flickered up, glaring at you intensively. “I already said no. Have a nice day.” He stated, clearly unbothered on doing his job and exiting out of your sight through the staff’s room.
“I swear to fucking God...” You mumbled under your breath. Your eyes went back to your house where you still saw the guy sitting on the couch and minding his own business.
Your feet stood rooted to the ground with your eyes wondering around the place as you tried to figure out a solution. You took in a deep breath. Although this wasn’t what you wanted to do, you had to do it.
You went in front of the glass, his eyes were still on his iPad. You gulped and knocked on the glass. His eyes immediately shot up to the glass door and looked at you.
Awkwardly, you kept eye contact with him. You could have sworn you were in some kind of staring contest for a whole minute. Not getting a response, you reached your hand up to knock once again.
Another moment of silence passed until he stood up and walked to the window, sliding the glass door open.
“Is there something I can help you with?” He raised a brow in question as his hand was still gripped onto the glass.
“Um sorry to bother but this house is actually the one that I booked?” You said, pointing to the number plate without extending your hand out too much. You watched as his forehead creases and a line appearance between his brows.
He glanced down on the floor before flickering his eyes back to you. “But I was the one that booked this house though.”
You bit the inside of your cheek before opening your phone and showing him your confirmation email. He blinked at you. “Wait what the...” He mumbled.
He scratched his head, signalling that he wasn’t sure of what to do as well. He clicked his tongue before saying, “Do you mind if I try to do something about this?” He lifted his phone up. You could only assume that he wanted to call someone to fix this.
“Sure.” You replied with a slight nod.
You decided to sit down on the bench in front of the house and watched making a phone call. You rested your chin on the palm of your hand, waiting for a long while. You were even shocked at the fact that he suddenly started laughing and joking with whoever was on the other side of the line.
Tired of waiting, you stood up and slide the glass door open forcefully, making him turn his head to you at the loud bang the door made.
“Okay I have no idea what you are doing but I’m tired of waiting for your so called discussion. If you want the house, have it. I’ll spend my Christmas somewhere else.” You snarled.
He wasn’t fazed by your sudden explosion of anger, keeping his eyes on you as a wide smirk was made. He whispered something on his phone before ending the call and shoving his phone in his back pocket.
The two of you remained intense eye contact as he slowly walked up to you with folded arms.
“I was about to let you in and share the house with me since I’m alone but apparently your anger seems to be saying that we won’t get along well. I now have a bad impression of you.” He taunted.
Your face immediately went blank as you blinked at him. “Um wait. I’m sorry for that. I need a place to stay for the week so please.” Your tone hinting a sense of begging.
You were certainly unsure of this decision he offered but then again, you thought about your Christmas, and how you wanted to spend it. This was better than nothing.
Without hearing an answer, you whispered a, “Please.” once again.
He sighed lazily and let out a ‘tsk’. “Fine. Come in.”
You bit your bottom lip and nodded, proceeding to drag your suitcase in. You noticed that he sat down at the same place on the couch when you first saw him. You decided to seat down as well, leaving a large gap in between the two of you.
“I’m Na Hyunjin.” You introduced yourself, observing the guy head down. You had to admit, he did caught you at first glance. HIs features that intrigued you became more defined and sharp as you looked at him up close. He had a lean and good looking body as well. He wore a white oversized shirt with grey sweatpants that eventuated his body in an appealing way.
“Eric.” He simply replied back. You puckered your lips as the two of you sat there in silence, awkwardly looking at everything else but each other. You were the first to speak up. “How long are you staying here for?” You asked, allowing yourself to get comfortable on the couch.
“A week.” A smiled unexpectedly appeared on your face. You weren’t sure how that sudden soft smile popped up, but you guess it was because you had something to talk about instead of being awkward with each other.
“I’m staying here for a week as well. Actually, why are you spending Christmas alone here?” You tried to carry on with the conversation. You saw him frown slightly, but quickly covered it with a small smile. “Well my girlfriend broke up with me. I only had her since my parents moved to who knows where for years now.” He whispered as he stared at the blank television. He gulped as he took in a deep breath.
“What about you?” He asked, finally turning his head to look at you. Your eyes widened slightly before answering. “I’m away from my parents and I have no one else so I decided to spend my holidays here for the fun of it.” You replied simply with a shrug. “Sorry about your girlfriend though...” You added on.
Eric waved his hand in the air lazily, as if swatting away your words. “I’m not here to be sad so you don’t have to talk about it.”
You nodded immediately and rose from your seat, grabbing your suitcase and pulling to close to you. “I guess I’ll unpack first then.” You announced. He hummed in response, taking his phone out of his pocket and proceeded to play with it.
You got your huge suitcase up to the second floor without a problem. You glanced at Eric who had his eyes on you with his mouth slightly gaped, probably impressed by how much strength you had. You got to the second floor and tried finding an unused room. It wasn’t a surprise to find out that Eric had the largest one.
You peeked inside and saw his belongings that were placed in a way that made his room looked extremely clean and organised. You shrugged and closed the door before finding another room.
It didn’t take you long to pick a room. It was big, but wasn’t as big as Eric’s. But you were fine with it and got in, starting to take your time unpacking.
Absentmindedly leaving your door open, you were playing songs on your phone while you unpacked, vibing and dancing around while you put your stuff in its designated places. You guessed your loud volume and singing overpowered Eric’s voice when you suddenly hear him shouting your name at your door, knocking twice. Your head instantly turned and went to off the song that was playing in the background.
Eric leaned his hip against the door frame, folding his arms while his eyes scanned your room. You would lying if you said he didn’t look good just by standing there.
“I’m about to buy takeout. Do you want anything?” Your eyes immediately widened at his words.
“Excuse me we’re out on a staycation and you want takeout? Let’s just cook something for dinner.” You requested.
Eric glanced sideways as you kept quiet, looking up and thinking about it. “Sure, we can head to the supermarket. I’ll wait for you to get ready then.” He stated. You quickly pulled out whatever’s left in your suitcase and tossing it onto your bed.
While you were sorting out your things, you still felt Eric’s presence and eyes glued to your back. Your turned around with threw him a raised brow. “Are you going to stand there the whole time?”
Eric didn’t reply. You noticed how he was observing you. You weren’t sure of what he was looking for, but suddenly made eye contact with you, boring into your eyes. “No.” He said in a monotone voice before swiftly turning around and going back to his room, hearing the door close.
You let out something that resembled a chuckle by how boring he acted. “He better not be those good looking guys that are cold and distant.” You said to yourself as you stared out to the hall as if Eric was still standing there.
You finally finished packing and grabbed your necessities, walking down the stairs and seeing Eric on the couch once again, this time he had a black hoodie over his white shirt that showed slightly at the end of the hoodie.
You got close to him and poked his shoulder lightly. Without saying a word, he stood up and the two of you went out together and headed to the supermarket.
“Wait, can you even cook?” Eric asked, clearly doubts and uncertainty shining through in his tone. You rolled your eyes and placed a hand on your chest, gasping loudly as you faked a surprised expression.
“You’re going to have to trust my cooking skills since you’re going to be with me for another six days.” You informed him confidently with a shrug as you took a cart and proceeding to take out your phone and headed to your notes app where you had a recipe for pasta in it.
Your eyes scanned down the list and you immediately went to an aisle to search for the ingredients. While you were picking out items off the shelves, you glanced at Eric, who simply followed you behind mindlessly.
You stopped in your tracks and spun around. Due to your sudden action, Eric lost his balance while trying to not bump into you. But instead, he fell forward and immediately supported himself by gripping onto the cart on both sides, trapping you in as the two of you got very close.
You were pretty sure your breathing stopped as you looked into his eyes. The moment went past quickly when he brought himself away from you and stood up straight. “What’s with the sudden stop?” Eric asked, seemingly sounding annoyed.
You let out a quiet laugh. “You don’t seem to be helping me.” You replied with a cocked brow and a slight smile.
Eric shoved his hands in his pockets and shifted his weight onto one leg. “So?” He asked back, tilting his head and copying your expression.
“So get me the rest of the items while I pick out other things that aren’t on the list.” You simply replied, shoving your phone to him. You let him look at the list, his eyes immediately widening. You could tell he looked unsure but he proceeded to look up at you with an arrogant smile. “Alright.”
You chuckled lowly at his confidence and walked away. Obviously you weren’t going to find anything, you just wanted to see how Eric was going to do what he was told.
You kept a large distance between you and him as he grabbed the cart and started strolling around the supermarket. He didn’t pick anything out, constantly looking down at your phone and to the sign above the aisles. You gaped your mouth open in shock when you found him in the chips aisle, grabbing random bags of chips and shoving it into the cart.
You immediately ran up to Eric and grabbed his wrist. He flinched at the sudden contact. “What are you doing?!” You shouted softly, looking down at the cart and seeing three bags of chips.
“I gave up finding what you needed so I went to get chips instead.” He replied nonchalantly, motioning his hand out towards the chips.
You placed a hand on your forehead, facepalming before snatching back your phone and faked an exasperated face. “Go queue up. I’ll find the rest of the ingredients.” You immediately looked down on your phone and dashed away.
You were quick to gather up everything that you needed and headed to the paying area. You widened your eyes when you saw Eric standing in front of the cashier as they started to check out the items one by one. You ran there quickly and dropped the items on the conveyor belt.
“Damn you’re good.” Eric complimented. You looked down and noticed the chips being scanned. “Why are the chips still there?” You questioned.
“Chill i’ll need it in case I want a midnight snack. Oh and I bought sweet drinks too.” Eric pointed his head towards the plastic bag where you saw two big bottles of what seemed to be peach tea.
You sighed and shook your head. “Okay, okay.” The cashier finished checking everything out. Just when you were about to take out your wallet, Eric held your wrist. You jumped at the sudden contact, looking up at him and nodding his head slightly before saying, “I’ll pay.” in the most cliché way possible.
You gulped and forced your hand out of his grip before nodding quickly. Eric paid for the groceries and insisted on carrying it all, though you consistently insisted on at least carrying one bag.
The two of you headed back to the house and placed all the groceries om the kitchen counter. “I’m going to assume you can’t cook so leave it to me and do your own things. I’ll call you when I’m done.” You informed Eric, proceeding to take out the groceries and lining them up on the counter.
Eric only shrugged. You turned your back and began to cook. Though once again, just like when you were in your room, you felt Eric’s presence. Glancing back, you find him playing with his phone while sitting on a chair at the counter.
“What are your plans for the week? You know, if I wasn’t here.” You asked, wanting to strike up a conversation as you kept your back on Eric.
“I would have gone out and have a meal outside. I’d probably spend the week playing at the arcade or the lounge area. Just... exploring the place I guess.”
You hummed, happy with his answer. “Looks like we have a similar plan.”
You didn’t hear Eric reply. A moment went past before you heard him let out a breath. “Why? You want to spend your trip here with me?” Eric asked with a tone of cockiness.
You scoffed and turned around after turning of the heat. “Would you like that?” You tilted your head with a wide grin. You were checking through the drawers to find plates. You heard Eric saying something but you couldn’t hear it since it was overpowered by the clanking of the glass plates.
“What?” You asked again, putting the pasta on the plates and grabbing two forks before bringing your readymade dinner in front of Eric. He glanced down at the meal before looking at you.
“I said I’ll be fine with that.” Eric whispered before digging in with no hesitation. “Holy shit this is good.” He hummed dreamily and he went in for another bite, chewing with a smile as he looked down at his plate. You couldn’t help but find him cute for that.
After the two of you finished your meals, you spent the night in your separate rooms, not a single form of communication was made. That is until you started to suddenly grow hungry at three in the morning and decided to steal some chips that Eric bought from the grocery shopping.
You slid your phone into your sweatpants and opened the door cautiously. Luckily, no sound came from it so you proceeded to walk down the dark hallway where the only place that was lit was the small light at the corner of the living room.
You tiptoed your way down, taking small steps down the stairs till you reached the kitchen. You chose not to turn on the lights because you were afraid it would produce a loud sound that might trigger Eric. You didn’t know if he was a light or heavy sleeper and you didn’t want to take your chances.
You opened the fridge and noticed how one bag of chips was opened. Specifically the spicy flavoured one. You were definitely intrigued by the chips and snatching it immediately.
You made the decision of sitting on the kitchen counter instead of your room so that you wouldn’t need to go back and forth.
While you were munching on the goods, you suddenly heard a loud bang. Your head instantly turned to the direction of the noise, realising it came from the glass door that lead to the backyard where you could get a clear view of the beach.
You squinted your eyes and tilted your head in awe. You didn’t see anyone there. Not being too bothered by it, you went back to reaching your hand into the bag of chips and stuffing it in your mouth.
While chewing, you heard the fridge open. Once again your head turned to the fridge, seeing a large figure standing in front of it.
“Eric?” You called out. He hummed in reply, taking out the large bottle of peach tea and closing the fridge before turning to you.
“Are you that lazy that you couldn’t at least go to the living room and eat instead of sitting on the counter?” Eric held the large bottle in one hand and taking a sip from it, his lips not making contact with the tip of the bottle.
“Yeah, I am.” You absentmindedly did a double take at him, noticing how the figure of his body looked amazing despite it looking like just a shadow in the dark. You looked at down on your phone, continuing to scroll through your socials.
Oddly enough, Eric sat on top of the counter as well, his body getting close to you as he peeked at your phone. Your heart raced at the small amount of space in between the two of you. It felt like the incident at the supermarket but this time, it wasn’t.
“Oh my god he did what?” Eric whispered shockingly, his eyes reading over what was on your phone. You were reading a story from an online website. “I find it funny.” You let out, hiding your soft laugh by covering your mouth with your arm.
“Hurry up and scroll. We need to keep reading this.” Eric whined, slamming the huge bottle on the table lightly.
You dropped the bag of chips beside you and took the drink, proceeding to down a few gulps while your lips made contact with the lid. It was a habit of yours to do that. “Are you saliva cautious?” You asked, completely forgetting that you were sharing the drink with someone.
Eric simply let out a shrug. “I’m fine with it.” Eric proceeded to take bottle back and take another sip.
“What should we do tomorrow? There’s so much to explore...” You suddenly asked as your mind went to the brochure that had a map with all the activities and such that the place provided.
“You got a clear plan?” Eric asked back. You shrugged. Kind of like the same way he did moments ago. “Not exactly.”
“Then we’ll just figure it out on the spot.” Eric answered nonchalantly. “Sometimes it’s nice to head somewhere without a map or destination. Who knows where you’ll end up.”
You let out a soft laugh in response. “That’s sounds... Amazing. But also terrifying.”
“It’s not like you’ll die here.”
“Never thought of you as a deep person...” You mumbled.
“How was that deep?”
“Travelling without a map and not knowing where you’re headed? That’s something deep to think about.”
You paused to think for a moment. “Is this your three in the morning feels or something?” A small smirk appeared on your lips as a brow cocked up.
Eric scoffed, seemingly in denial but quickly grew quiet as he didn’t give an answer until at least twenty seconds later. “Probably because of the reason I came here in the first place.”
You then remembered what he said in the evening about his girlfriend that he broke up with. You slowly nodded your head and frowned, thinking about how you would do the same thing.
“It’s an escape trip.” You stated with a soft sigh. “Don’t worry. I don’t like having people with a negative energy around me. Let’s make this a fun trip.” You nodded with affirmation.
Eric rested his chin on the palm of his hand as he nodded as well.
Tumblr media
You woke up peacefully at eleven in the morning. Yes, it was your habit to sleep early and have more hours of sleep than what is considered normal. You were still laying in bed despite being wide awake, rolling around in your bed and playing with your phone. As the clock struck twelve, you finally decided that it was time for you to head down and find something to eat.
You flinched back in shock when you found Eric silently sitting on the couch. It looked like he was going out since he was wearing jeans and a sweater. Once again, his clothes suited his body well.
“Well you look pretty.” Eric greeted, his eyes glued to his phone. You furrowed your eyebrows. He probably saw you come down while you were still half asleep.
“Are you going somewhere?” You asked, rubbing your eyes vigorously with one hand while the other went to the fridge to grab a cup of sweet drink.
“Didn’t we agree to spend time here together? You do realise it’s afternoon, right?” He placed his phone down and looked at me.
You yawned, accidentally but also not. “I am well aware. You’ll have to put up with this.” You took a sip and gulped it down. Before you were going to walk back up to your room, you looked at Eric who had his eyes on you.
“Give me thirty minutes.” Was all you said before heading to your room to get ready.
Since you didn’t want to keep Eric waiting, you quickly showered and threw on wide legged jeans and tucked in a random sweater before putting your necessities in a sling back and went back down.
You went to Eric as waited for him as he stood up as went to the door. You clipped your hair up in a lazy bun as the two of you went out.
Eric shoved his hands in his pockets as he swerved around to look at you. “What should we do first?” He asked, with a gentle and warm smile.
“Let’s go to the arcade.” You replied with excitement, jumping a little in your spot as your finger immediately went up to point at the arcade.
Eric chuckled with a wide smile. A smile that unexpectedly resulted in butterflies fluttering in your stomach. For once you actually felt and understood the feeling that every romance novel expressed.
If you could describe the day you had with Eric in one word, it would be special. The two of you did a lot of things that day. Going to the arcade, having a delicious lunch at a restaurant and discovered one of the few small theme parks they had. Since this was only day two of your stay here, you two decided it would be best to not explore the whole place too quickly.
To your surprise, Eric was way different from when you first met him. He was bright and cheerful as the two of you constantly made jokes and played around like kids. You felt happy to have someone you could enjoy your time with instead of being alone most of the time. It was something new to you grew to love it quickly.
“The sunset is pretty.” You whispered as the two of you sat at a random beach chair, looking out to the far distance where the sun started to set.
Silence filled the space between you and Eric. But this time, the silence was a peaceful one. One where you didn’t feel the need to break the ice like you did when you first met Eric.
“Should we do this everyday?” Eric asked, turning his head from the view and to you. You looked back, answering with a soft smile and nodding your head. “I’d love that.”
Tumblr media
As the days went on, you and Eric got close to each other quick. It felt like you instantly clicked with each other despite being different. Seemingly enough, you two followed your plan of exploring the place without an actual idea in mind. And to be honest, you felt extreme happiness. You tried places that you didn’t see before the first time you went to explore and you ended up liking it. You didn’t know whether it was because of the place itself or perhaps having Eric there with you. You liked how Eric was around you. And to be honest, it made your stomach churn, as well as making your cheeks blush a light pink whenever you were with him.
Eric was the same too. You noticed how to would steal glances at you whenever the two of you walked silently and he always had his eyes on you. Though you sometimes caught him looking at you, he brushed it off and made up an excuse to deny it. That was another thing that you grew to like about him.
It was now day six of your trip. You felt as though this trip was ending too quickly and time flew by too fast for you and Eric.
“Hey, do you actually ever believed in the mistletoe thing?” You asked Eric as the two of you walked down a path where there was a mistletoe at the end of it. Once again you have spent your day with Eric well as you surprisingly got through all the activities and amusement parks provided. “I did it with my girlfriend once. Supposedly, it was suppose to mean that the one you confessed to would be with you for a long time. But look at where that got me.”
Well, that answered your question.
“Stop.” You said in a firm tone as you lifted a hand up in front of Eric. He did as he was told, standing in his spot. You moved so that you were standing in front of him, one hand holding his wrist.
Eric was confused by your sudden action despite giving a blank face. “We’re above the mistletoe.” You pointed out, jerking your head upwards. Eric glanced up and hummed in response.
You didn’t know what came over you, but you suddenly went in and give Eric a quick peck on the cheek. You watched Eric’s expression. To be fair, you were just as stunned as he was by what you just did.
He remained silent for awhile, his eyes were widened ever so slightly as he blinked his eyes slowly, looking at you in somewhat a disbelief face. He finally processed the situation and gave a light chuckle. “That was cute.” Eric admitted.
You smiled at his response. You for some reason thought that he would react in a different way. Maybe in disgust or discomfort. But you also felt that you shouldn’t be surprised since the way he treated you throughout the trip has definitely grown to be more affectionate in a romantic manner, to which you reciprocated wholeheartedly.
Tumblr media
Surprisingly (but also not), you now found yourself on the bench at the backyard at two in the morning, lightly snowing as you admired the night atmosphere of the beach in front of you, with Eric’s head on your lap while you played with his hair between your fingers. You guessed that you grew physically attracted with Eric as well throughout this week.
“You like my hair that much?” Eric asked, his eyes were closed while he admired your touch, but opened it slightly as he turned his head to look up at you. You let out a quiet laugh and nodded. “It’s soft.” You whispered. “I’m also picking out the snow that’s stuck.”
As you gently brushed strands of hair that covered Eric’s eyes, you couldn’t help but think that you wanted to stay in this moment for a long time. You liked the peaceful atmosphere and scenery to set the tone. And importantly, you liked just being here with Eric.
“You’re pretty.” Eric whispered back after a moment of admiring each other’s faces. “You say that every morning when I wake up with my ugly hair and face.” You whined softly.
Eric let out a low chuckle that never failed to make you feel something. “Because you’re still pretty nonetheless.”
“How should we spend our last day here?”
Eric didn’t reply, his eyes glancing down to your lips for a second before taking in a deep breath.
“Can you extend your stay?”
You were taken aback by his request. But you were thinking the same thing as well. “I’d love to. But we basically explored the whole place. What if we get bored?”
Eric lifted his head up from your lap, his hand extending out to cup your cheek in his palm. With his warm touch, you couldn’t help but smile.
“I don’t care. As long as I get to spend all my time with you.” Eric’s hand swiftly traced your jawline before placing two fingers on your chin, tilting your head down as he went up to place a soft kiss on your forehead, his other hand going up to your hair and seemingly brushing off the bits of snow that laid on your hair
Eric didn’t pull back, his lips still on your skin. You didn’t know how long he was going to stay there, but you made sure to treasure every second of it till he pulled away.
“Then I guess I’m stuck with you for another week.”

Reassurance: a Raph & Donnie Drabble
I heard a cry in the universe for more Raph & Donnie content, so I took it upon myself to write this up. Just a quick lil’ somethin-somethin, nothin’ fancy. (You can expect a tighter, neater version of this drabble on my Ao3 once I get my deadlines out of the way!) Summary: [An interlude between Battle Nexus: New York & E-Turtle Sunshine...] Donnie finds Raph in the med-bay. They take a moment to reflect on the Shredder’s return and what had happened to them; comforting ensues.  Rating: General Audience Tags: Semi-Beta’d, Angst(?), Hurt/Comfort, Minor Injuries, Bad memories, and Hugging :U ! Word Count: Less than 1k Read it under the cut!
"Here ya go, Draxibald!" Mikey presented a box of colored chalk to Draxum, who eyed the pieces dubiously. Some pieces were never used, others were only nubs, and one looked like someone had taken a bite out of it.
With a shrug, Draxum pulled the cleanest piece of chalk out from the box, "These will suffice, thank you." He patted Mikey on the head and began sketching out a giant circle on the atrium's floor. Draxum worked quietly for a while until his eyes flicked up towards the Turtles, April, and Splinter, who watched him closely.
"Sooo, how long's it gonna take you to draw this bad boy, huh?" Leo asked, folding his arms behind his head, both bored and interested at the same time.
Draxum's eye twitched, though he continued sketching the elaborate runes with a resigned sigh, "A memory-retrieval diagram as intricate and extensive as this one requires time and concentration. Why not take this moment to relax, and I shall let you know once it’s finished?"
The group murmured in agreement, enticed by a moment to unwind, and went their separate ways. Donnie decided now would be an excellent opportunity to upgrade Sheldon and repair whatever damages had been done to his tech. If they were to faceoff against Shredder again, he'd be ready.
Donnie was about to enter his lab until he heard a noise coming from the med-bay. With his curiosity besting him, he pivoted on his heel and changed course.
The glass doors to the med-bay quietly slid apart as Donnie stepped inside. Multiple drawers and cabinets were left open; their contents were strewn about haphazardly. The disorganization offended him, though he was too tired to be bothered by it. What intrigued Donnie more was the culprit behind the mess.
"Raph?" Donnie raised a brow, "What are you doing here?"
"Donnie!" Raph gasped, somewhat startled. "Uhm, nothing! Wh-what're you doing here?"
"I heard someone rummaging around and took it upon myself to investigate," Donnie studied Raph's demeanor. There was something off about the way the Snapping turtle carried himself, "Arrreee you okay?"
"It's nothing, really," Raph's smile faltered. "Raph's back's a little sore, so I was lookin' for somethin' to help take away the ache."
Donnie's expression softened, "Oh. Did you want some help with that?"
"If you don't mind? I'd really appreciate it."
"Not at all," Donnie came up to Raph's side and gingerly touched his brother's rugged shell. "Does it hurt anywhere in particular?"
"Mostly over here," Raph gestured to the area between his shoulders. "But it doesn't hurt hurt, y'know?"
"Mm, let's have a look-see," Donnie lowered his goggles; the mismatched lenses scanned Raph's back and highlighted any bruise they came across. "It looks like your shell's a little tender from earlier," Donnie informed, raising his goggles. "Nothing a hot compress can't fix." The diagnosis wasn't surprising. Of course, Raph's back would be hurting him. After all, Raph did take the brunt of Shredder's iron-clad boots.
Donnie's brows knitted together; the unpleasant memories came rushing back, immobilizing him before he could reach into one of the drawers.
Everything happened so fast: one moment, Donnie's inside the safety of Raph's mystic aura. Then they were sent flying across the ruined betting room in Big Mama's hotel with no time to react.
Donnie had landed hard, right next to Raph. At first, he couldn't pick himself up, his sense of urgency working against him, even though he could feel Shredder's overwhelming presence looming over him.
But Raph was quick to roll over and shield him from the monstrous scrapheap with his own body. Donnie remembered how he clung to his brother's arm, bracing for the worst. He recalled how Raph struggled to keep Shredder from crushing them; how he fought to keep Donnie safe.
"Donnie?" Raph's concerned voice called Donnie back to the med-bay. "What’s wrong?"
"I...," Donnie cleared his throat, "Something just distracted, that's all." He shook his head, "L-Let me get you that compress..."
Suddenly, Donnie felt Raph’s arms gently wrap around him, pulling him into a hug. Maybe it was the troubled look in Donnie's eyes that prompted the action, or maybe Raph was that good at telling when his brothers needed to be comforted. Whatever the reason, Donnie found himself reciprocating the motion.
Usually, Donnie detested any hug that lasted longer than ten seconds, thirty seconds tops. But something kept Donnie from slipping out from Raph’s embrace. Did he feel guilty that it was his fault Raph got hurt? Or was he relieved that they all survived thanks to Splinter's quick thinking?
Donnie shut his eyes tightly. He didn't want to think about what could've happened to them; what nearly happened to them. He tried to think solely of their hug and how badly they both needed it.
"Are you okay?" Raph asked, softly breaking the silence between them.
"I... I think so," Donnie answered. "Are you okay?"
Raph blinked, thrown off by the question. Was he okay? He wasn't sure. They had all been through a lot, and they weren't out of the woods yet. Fighting Big Mama and her bozo Nexus champions was one thing, but Shredder? That was a whole new level of danger. It fell on Raph's shoulders as the leader to ensure the safety of his brothers, even if it meant putting himself in harm's way.
"I'm okay," Raph finally responded with a shaky sigh. "We're both okay, right?"
"Affirmative," Donnie nodded, their hug finally coming undone. "Now, how about setting you up with that compress I promised?"
"Raph likes the sound of that," Raph flashed his signature, snaggle-toothed grin. "Thanks, Donnie."
"Don't mention it," Donnie gave a small, sincere smile, "After all, what’re brothers for?”
"I couldn't have said it any better myself!"

Night
Katara listened to the soft snoring of her husband and daughter, who’d both come down with a light cold the moment their ship had left Fire Nation waters.
The gentle waves that rocked their vessel usually lulled her to sleep easily, but tonight the moon stood full and high, inviting the Waterbender to come and play with the wide ocean around her. Katara tried to ignore the seductive pull of her element, though– it was late, and they would reach port early in the morning.
Frustrated by her own restlessness, she turned– only to be greeted by huge blue eyes that were staring right back at her. It seemed she wasn’t the only one the moon called upon tonight. Smiling at her youngest, Katara raised her arm and the boy snuggled closer to his mother. She buried her nose in his dark curls.
While Kya tended to smell of singed hair and mischievous adventure, little Iroh's sweet baby scent had just begun to fade.
After placing a kiss on his temple Katara whispered, “Can’t you sleep, little penguin?”
“No, Mami,” he tried to whisper in return, but his high voice echoed through their cabin nonetheless.
She glanced over her son’s head. Zuko shifted a little, but he and Kya were still sleeping as soundly as their stuffy noses permitted.
Katara felt the boy looking up at her and brought a finger to her lips.
If neither of them could sleep, they could as well enjoy the full moon night. Slowly, she pushed their blankets aside and, like thieves, they stole out of bed.
In half-darkness, they put on their matching parkas and went up on deck hand in hand. Illuminated by the moon, Katara took in the icy night air of her childhood home. In only a few hours they would be reunited with their friends and family, her very first home.
Iroh hadn’t yet been able to walk when they’d last visited the South together, and by now he was already old enough to play in the endless snow; just like she’d done with her brother so many years ago.
Katara’s excitement grew.
Where Kya’s face was a well-rounded mix of her parents, Iroh looked Southern Water Tribe through and through.
She loved both her children unconditionally– to the moon and the sun; but being able to bring her little Water Tribe boy home to the people who’d raised her, filled Katara with pride.
Iroh tugged at her gloved hand.
“Mami, look, the moon is sooo shiny!”
“My, you’re right,” chuckling, she kneeled to fix his hood. “Is that why you couldn’t sleep, Iroh?”
Katara had been observing him lately. With Kya, they’d known from the moment of her birth that she would be a bender. She’d been born with fire in her eyes; and over the years, she’d in fact proven to be as bright and unstoppable as the flames she could command.
Little Iroh took his time, though. He’d already passed the age in which the first signs of bending– any bending at that– usually occurred. She and Zuko weren’t particularly worried about it; if he couldn’t bend at all, they would be more than fine with it.
It was just that Katara had an impatient trust in the dream – or vision?– she’d had the night of Iroh’s birth.
Zuko would never call her foolish– she knew that; but he definitely didn’t believe in superstition. She also didn’t want him to think that she was envious of him and Kya sharing an element– because it wasn’t true. Some things were just best kept between her and the spirits.
So Katara had never told him.
The day before Iroh’s birth had been sweltering hot and her first contractions had gotten her by surprise; at that time, she’d had yet another couple of weeks to go. Assuming a false alarm, Katara had heeded Zuko’s suggestion and had gone to rest in their bed. Sleep had claimed her instantly, as had the dream.
She dreams of the moon.
It is not the same one she has come to know in the short Fire Nation nights, but the seemingly never setting moon of her childhood. Since it is a dream, she recognises this serene moon to be Yue; although she doesn’t appear to her like on the day Katara has seen her body become spirit.
In her dream, Yue does not have any shape. Instead, she is the moonshine and the stars that mirror the endless ocean on which Katara finds herself floating. Yue is the water herself, and the sky; maybe Katara isn’t even floating on water but moonshine? A profound peace settles in her bones, and her tears mix with this magical place. There’s a heartbeat echoing her own inside of her; the waves she’s so magnificently drowning in pull her down in tune to the sweet melody. But breath comes easiest to Katara in the depths of the ocean. Her lungs and her heart expand and double, burst on the dark ocean floor. And then she– the last Waterbender born to the original Southern Water Tribe – knows she is no longer alone.
After Katara had been woken by Zuko, they had discovered that her water had broken. Only a few hours later, their little prince had been born– a little early, but completely healthy.
To this day, he wore the shapes and colours of his mother’s childhood home and carried the name of the man his father cherished most.
Instead of answering, Iroh looked up at the sky.
Searching his face, Katara asked again, “Can’t you sleep because of the moon? Do you–”
“It’s it true that there is a woman on the moon, Mami?”
The question made her heart skip a beat. Could it be…?
Following his intense gaze, she could only whisper, “Why do you ask, Iroh?”
The silence felt endless, before he finally said, “Yaya said so.”
Suddenly feeling awfully silly, Katara gathered the boy into her arms.
Maybe she did pressure herself too much into having a waterbending child.
Maybe she did have too much pride as a Master Waterbender herself.
Maybe she did give one pregnancy-induced fever dream way too much weight.
But it would have to stop– immediately. If Iroh came to any harm because of her own arrogant desires, she would never be able to forgive herself. Katara wouldn’t let it happen.
She withdrew from the embrace and nodded solemnly, “Well, Kya is right. There is a girl on the moon.”
Iroh beamed at his mother, “I knew it!”
Laughing at his excitement, Katara rose some water from the ocean and coated a fraction of the deck in ice.
Iroh, knowing what would come next, tugged eagerly at her sleeve. Together, they stepped on the ice and began to turn in slow pirouettes under the bright moonlight.
“Her name is Yue. She is very brave and beautiful,” she held Iroh by one hand, lest he would fall. “Did you know that your Uncle Sokka and Uncle Aang and I know her?”
The child’s eyes grew even bigger. “And Baba, too?”
Katara nodded again. He didn’t yet need to know the circumstances…
“Of course! Grandpa Iroh does, too.”
Giggling, he dared a small jump. “And Auntie Toph, Mami?”
Carefully stepping off the ice herself, Katara guided him along the deck.
“You know that Auntie Toph knows everybody and everything...”
There would be no proper sunrise, but time passed either way. The ship had increasingly come to life and it had been the captain herself, who’d brought them blankets to keep warm.
As not to bother anyone’s work, they had snuggled up in some wind-sheltered corner on deck. Sitting on Katara’s lap, Iroh rested his head against her shoulder. He followed the movements of her hands with his own, awestruck by how easily the water listened to his mother.
“Can I do that, too, Mami?”
“Maybe one day, penguin,” she kissed the top of his hooded head.
After a moment, she let the water fall away and pulled her son closer to her chest.
“You know Mami and Baba and Kya love you, even if you can’t bend, do you, Iroh?”
Katara knew he was too young to comprehend her worries, so it didn’t surprise her when he answered, “But I want to make ice, Mami. Just like you.”
“We’ll see, penguin.”
He sighed like someone ten times his tender age, continuing his apparent monologue, “Maybe I could ask the girl on the moon to help me do that.”
Despite everything, this made her laugh.
“What a clever idea, Iroh! But you have to ask nicely, promised?”
“Promised”, he nodded so hard, his hood came off. “Can I go now?”
There was no use in telling him no, as he was already untangling himself from the blankets and his mother’s arms. Feeling oddly calm, Katara watched him take off.
“Stay away from the railing and let the guards be, Iroh!”
He turned back smiling and waved at her.
It wasn’t long before the rest of her little family joined her on deck.
“Well, well. Look who’s rising with the sun now,” she teased when Zuko and Kya looked sleepily at her.
After hugging them, she wrapped her blankets around her daughter. The girl was always freezing cold, since she couldn’t quite control her inner heat yet. Katara tucked Kya's braid into her parka and let her run off in search of her little brother.
“There is no sun to rise with, Katara,” Zuko muttered, pulling her gently into his arms. He rested his chin on her head and tried to keep an eye on their children.
The moon stood as high in the sky as it had for days; Zuko knew it was normal for his wife to be that strongly affected by its presence, but he worried either way.
His voice was low against her ear, “Didn’t get much sleep, again?”
Katara shook her head, telling him that Iroh had been awake all night, too.
For a moment, she looked up at her husband and pressed a kiss against his jaw. Then, she rested her cheek against his warmed parka. “And the bed was too cramped, I’m afraid.”
Although she couldn’t see it, she knew that a corner of his mouth rose in amusement.
Zuko’s warm hand came to rest over her stomach.
“To think that it will be even more crowded on our trip back...”
They chuckled softly. It was too early to see with all the layers she wore in the cold, but the reason for their trip to the South Pole was warmly hidden away inside her.
“Oh, on the trip back, I’ll be tired for years, Zuko. I’ll be able to sleep anywhere.”
It was probably true. Besides a growing family, they’d brought a lot of work with them.
There were still post-war agreements to be upheld, healers to be trained and allies to be made. The world did not improve itself.
Knowing they had the same thought, they grimaced at each other.
“Let’s take it easy, yeah?”
She was just about to agree when Kya’s shriek pierced through the air.
“Ma, Ba! Look!”
A small gathering awaited them at the harbour. Whenever Katara came home, it had grown by yet another dock or lighthouse. Wasn’t the one to the West the improved outcome of the rudimentary plans she and Sokka had made years ago?
New and old faces looked up at the family exiting the ship. Over time, Katara’s little village had become a small town– a welcoming home to whoever dared bracing the cold.
Her eyes found her father next to Sokka in the crowd, but she looked away when she saw Hakoda’s face fall. Despite the biting cold, Katara hadn’t noticed new tears running down her cheeks.
“Grandpa,” Kya exclaimed the moment she saw him. “Look what Iroh can do!”
Before she could drag her brother away, Zuko laid an arm around Kya and gently pressed her against his side. He knew how important this would be for his wife.
“Let your Ma and Iroh go first...”
They fell a few steps behind and watched as Katara and Iroh made their way to Hakoda. Katara bowed her head respectfully to her father. Zuko had seen her do it only once before– on their wedding day; without looking up, she presented Hakoda their son.
Katara sunk to her knees to be at eye level with Iroh and asked him to show his grandfather what he could do.
The boy nodded happily and moved his hands more or less the same way he’d seen his mother do only a couple of hours ago.
Slowly, little drops of water rose from the ground and gathered around Iroh's gloved hands.
The shape was sloppy and burst after a few seconds– but he’d done it.
“He’s a Waterbender, Father.”
It was not like there were no Waterbenders in the Southern Water Tribe, but most of them and their parents had immigrated from far up North. They were good people, but they had not suffered as the South had, knew not what prices had been paid in order to survive.
To the South, a Waterbender was a blessing and Hakoda’s beloved daughter had brought them yet another one.
Hakoda stared down at Katara and his grandson.
It was Sokka who broke the heavy silence when he saw tears rise in his father's and sister's eyes.
“Amazing, buddy! You look just like your mama when she did her magic water tricks for the first time.”
Blinking rapidly himself, he picked his nephew up.
Even the people who’d gathered to welcome the Fire Nation ship turned and silently went away, paying their chief and his daughter some respect. They would have plenty of opportunities to greet Katara and her family later at the feast.
Iroh giggled when Sokka sat him on his shoulders since he was now as tall as his father, who’d come to stand next to them.
“Long day, I guess?”
Zuko nodded. “You bet, Sokka.”
He watched his brother-in-law look back at Katara and Hakoda, who stood a few feet away. Their heads were bowed as if they were in prayer.
“She fine?”
“Yes. Just overwhelmed,” Zuko pulled Iroh’s hood back over his small head, “We could already see the port when our little penguin here bend for the first time.”
It was Sokka’s turn to nod in serious acknowledgement; but when Kya told him that she’d seen Iroh do it first, his demeanour changed once again.
“My, that can’t be my niece Kya, can it? Last time I saw her she was this small!”
He held his hand ridiculously close to the ground, which made Kya cry out in protest.
“Liar! You were on my birthday, Uncle Sokka!”
“And it has been what, princess? Three months?”
“I can make ice, Uncle Sokka!”
“Are you sure? You’ll have to show me that again, bud.”
Zuko laughed but only half-listened to Sokka and the children.. He stole a glance at his wife, who was now in a tight embrace with her father.
From where he stood, Zuko could see that Hakoda whispered something against Katara’s forehead before kissing it.
The polar wind hadn’t carried all the words to Zuko– but it had sounded like they had been giving thanks to the spirits.
“Last one to get to Auntie Suki and Gran Gran is a wet blanket!”
He saw Katara smile up at her father then. Hakoda wiped away her tears and pointed at the ocean. Not wanting to intrude further, Zuko turned away.
It was just before he followed the excited screams of his children, that Zuko bowed his head in his own gratitude towards the moon.

Chapter 13:
Jaleia's POV
I waited at the baggage claim for Jesse and Diana. Their flight was due any minute now and I couldn't wait to see them. I was actually sick of myself.
Jesse had told me last night that Imani and him had some sort of "encounter." We were definitely going to have to talk about it but for now, I put it out of my mind because I missed him and I just wanted to enjoy the moment. I also didn't buy five new lace lingerie outfits to not wear.
I walked around the area a couple times until I saw a crowd of people coming out the doors. Diana ran over to me, the brightest smile stretched across her face. I wrapped my arms around her.
"How was the trip? How was the flight?" I said.
"It was so much fun! I can't wait to tell you everything!" She said as she bounced up and down. She turned around and pointed to the conveyor belt.
"That's my bag!" She said before running off.
Jesse appeared a few seconds later. We looked a little uneasy. But seeing him in that black v-neck had me feeling some kind of way. Three weeks is a long time, okay?
I ran over to him, practically jumping onto him, but he moved quick to hold me.
"Hey J-" he started to say but I kissed him, pulling him even closer. We paused to take a breath and then let our mouths explore each other as his hands slid lower and lower on my body.
"Ewwww, Jesse! People are starting to stare." Diana said. She wheeled her bag over to where we were.
"Let them stare." He said. He kissed me three more short times before we decided to break apart.
"I got your bags, Jess." She said.
"Aww thanks, little sis." He said, taking the bags from her. She put earbuds in her ear.
"Well we have officially lost her." Jesse said, holding my hand.
"I'm afraid so. So besides the giant hoe shaped elephant in the room which we will be talking about later, how was your trip?" I said as we made our way through the airport to the car.
"That's one way to put it. It was great I missed L.A. You gotta come with me sometime. "
"You keep saying that yet I never get to go. Anyway I missed you sooo much that I bought something a little special something for we to wear and you to take off."
"Oh yeah?"
"Wait until we get home. I want you and me to go into that bedroom and not come out until the next morning. I want to be screaming, not just pleasured, not just content, not just really good, I want to be screaming your name. Can you do that?" I said in his ear.
"Damn Jay, I leave for three weeks and your turn into a freak? Hell yeah I can do that."
"Good." I said. Jesse reached over and tapped Di on the shoulder. She looked up and took out an earbud.
"I'm just saying I suggest you watch a movie in the basement or play some really loud music when we get home." He said.
"Why? She said, her eyebrows scrunched in confusion.
"Oh no reason, just might be nice for tonight." He said.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"What the fuck did you just say?"
"I am so sorry Jay. I didn't mean it, I swear it just slipped out."
"You are about to slip off this earth! I can't believe you would say her name!"
We and Jesse were having a great night. We were on round two of the evening when Jesse called out Imani's name while we were doing it. I have never slapped anyone that fast before.
"I didn't mean to! I don't even know why I said it!"
"Are you trying to tell me something Jesse? What the hell was that? What the HELL was that?" I yelled at him. We were standing on the opposite sides of the bed and everytime he tried to get near me I picked something up to throw at him.
"I swear to God, Jaleia it was a mistake. It didn't mean it. I don't even know how it slipped out!"
"Damn right it was a mistake! Were you thinking of her while we having sex?"
"No, God no. Not at all I have no idea where that came from."
"I am so done with you I can't even look at you." I said.
"Come on, You love looking at this." He said, narrowly dodging the shoe I launched at his head.
"Okay not the time I get it." He said.
"You fucking Bastard."
"Okay, enough with name calling."
"All I wanted was to enjoy one night with my stupid husband and he calls me by his ex hoes name? You got me SO fucked up. Since it's clear neither of us will be having anymore sex tonight, let's talk about Imani. Let's talk about that." I said, grabbing my robe and tying it around my waist.
"Maybe we should wait until we're both a little more calm-"
"The calm ship sailed when your ship sailed into my harbor and called me by the wrong name. Let me tell you something Jesse. I am a doctor and I could kill you and make it look like accident. Sit down and Start talking." I said, sitting down facing him. He reached his arm out to me.
"Touch me and you will lose that arm. What happened between you and Imani?" He quickly moved his arm away from me and sat down.
"We were at the studio. We just finished and I stayed behind to work on another song. It was just Dre and me and Imani. Dre went to the bathroom. And then Imani-"
"Why didn't you leave? I told you not to be alone with her! Obviously I was right."
"Dre went to the bathroom, it was only supposed to be for a minute."
"But it wasn't, was it?"
"She pounced fast okay? She started dancing and kept trying get me to do stuff and then I walked away and sat on the couch. That's when she climbed into my lap. Eventually I got her off me and left. But that's all that happened."
"I still can't believe you would say her name!"
"Are you mad?"
"I'm not mad at you for what someone else did to you. If you didn't tell me I would've been pissed. Her, on the other hand, better not ever come near me or you again."
"I love you."
"Did you want to? Sleep with her." I looked him dead in the face. He squirmed a little and then looked up, not meeting my eyes
"Not really."
"What the hell does 'not really' mean?"
"To be honest, She's not ugly and I was sex deprived. But that's the only reason."
"You being horny? No other reason or feelings?"
"No. I have no feelings for her. Please don't be mad at me."
"I told you I'm not mad at you for something you didn't do. I pissed at what you just did."
Jesse put his arm on my shoulder. I slapped it off.
"Don't touch me. I'm still mad at you!"
"It was an accident!"
"I hope the couch is comfortable tonight."
>>>>>>>>>>>>
I flipped another perfect pancake. Sunday mornings were so peaceful. Both Jesse and Diana were asleep so I quietly came downstairs to start breakfast without waking them up. I flipped the bacon the hickory smoke smell filled the kitchen. I went to the refrigerator and grabbed a carton of strawberries and started to cut them.
I felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around my waist.
"Get off." I said.
"Are you seriously still mad, Jay?"
"Yes, how would you like it if we making love and I called you another man's name?"
"I see how that could be problematic. Can you pass me a strawberry?" He said.
I purposefully threw it across the room.
"Can you please tell me what's really bothering you?" He said. He cut the stove burners off and used my waist to turn me around to face him. I looked at the floor.
"Do you have any idea how that made me feel? You calling her name. I mean I know I'm the one to zone out. But I wouldn't call someone else's name. Makes me wonder if you're actually in the moment with me-and you know that's hard enough for me, or if you're think about other people. Especially her? Do you regret not sleeping with her?"
Jesse got on his knees looking up at me from my waist.
"I'm so sorry. Trust me it will never happen again. It was an honest random fuck up, it has nothing to do with how I feel about you. You know that. I'm done with Imani, I don't want her, she's done, she's history, in the past and sealed up. I love you and only you."
"Are you sure? Because if you ever do that again I swear I will-"
Jesse quickly attached his lips to mine.
"I will never do that again. Never. I love you."
"Love your stupid ass too. I hop you didn't max out your card in Cali, cause this is soooooooo going to cost you."
"Oh God. What is this going to cost me?"
"My bracelet could use some matching friends. "
"Do you know how expensive that bracelet was?"
"I know how expensive it's friends are going to be."
"So if I do that, will you stop being mad at me?"
"I might even have sex with you." I said, standing on my toes to kiss the tip of his nose. He kissed the side of my neck.
"I don't get a second chance?"
"Oh, you will. Try not to moan another girl's name though, total mood killer."
"You know what?" Jesse said, picking me up and slinging me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I laughed. He started tickling my sides, and spinning me around, causing me to scream and laugh. Eventually he brought me to the living room and threw me down on the couch. He straddled me, his hands still attacking my sides. I tried to push his hands off but he grabbed them and held them down above my head with one hand.
"I'm not going to lie, that was extremely sexy. But if you don't stop, I'm going to piss myself. " I said.
"Oh, really?" He said smirking. "I'll let you go, for a price."
"What's that?" I said looking at him, trying to catch my breath.
"Should I leave the room?" Diana said, walking down the stairs. We both looked toward the stairs. Jesse kissed me and helped me up.
"No, we're not going to have sex since you're here now." He teased. She was quiet for a second and then said,
"Have you done it on the couch?"
"Who wants breakfast?" I said as I walked back to the kitchen. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I looked in the fridge for something to eat. I found some chicken pasta that I had ordered a couple of days ago.
Jesse walked by me and said "I wouldn't eat that if I were you."
"I have a stomach of steel."
I did not have a stomach of steel. I threw up about two hours after eating that pasta. I was sitting on the floor of the bathroom after the second wave of vomit. I was trying to be quiet so Jesse wouldn't hear me and so that I didn't have to admit that he was right. At first he walked by the bathroom and then he backed up.
"I told you. I told you not to do it!" He said laughing.
"Shut up!" I tried to cross my arms but my stomach was killing me. Jesse walked in and started massaging my lower back.
"I'm sorry you didn't listen to me." He said.
"Shut up!" He laughed.
"Do you want something to drink?" He asked.
"Maybe some ginger ale and water please.' I said. Jesse got up, kissed the top of my head and started walking out the room when the doorbell rang.
"Jay I'll be right back." He said walking to the door.
"My baby!" I heard Aiesha say. Oh great, another random visit from Aiesha.
"Hey mom, HEY DIANA, come down. How ya doing mom?"
"I missed you guys so much. I have so much to tell you, Jesse."
"Okay you wanna sit in the living room, I'll be right back."
He came back to me with the soda and water.
"We have a visitor. " he said.
"I heard. If you wanna close the door so that it doesn't smell like vomit go ahead."
"Nah, it's fine. Let me know if you need anything, I'll check on you."
"Go ahead." Another wave hit me and I hurled myself over the toilet.
"We can go to the hospital."
"No, I'm fine. It'll pass. My fault for being stupid, hungry, and lazy."
"Okay, but if you don't feel better you're going." He said, kissing my forehead.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"So there's an offical date set for the start of your dad's trial. They will start in about three months. The prosecution wants him on as many charges as they can and want to put him away for as long as possible." Aiesha said.
I had finished, for now, my temporary bout of mild food poisoning, and I was sitting on the floor in between Jesse's legs, sitting literally anywhere else made me nauseous. Jesse was sitting on the couch, apparently his mom had a ton of news for him, that she waited until he was back for Cali to tell him. After her usual twenty insults she finally started talking.
"Also, I could be closing on the house in the next few weeks, there is a couple that is really interested in it and they are considering putting in an offer. So if that goes through, then I'll be able to really take time and find the house I want."
"Congrats, mom! I hope it goes through. But once it gets sold where are you going to stay?" Jesse said.
"Well, Mel's sister lives in the same neighborhood and Mel was coming up for a visit, so I'll be with them. But it shouldn't be for long because I put in an offer on a house and guess what?"
"Really that's great! What?" Jesse said.
"It's right around the corner from here!" She said with a huge smile on her face. I turned and faced Jesse with the fakest smile I could muster.
"Can you believe that Jess? She found the perfect house just around the corner from us. She'd only be five minutes away." I said, trying to keep my face pleasant.
"I know I heard, that's so great mom! Just around the corner, wow! Great!" He said. I could tell he wasn't that happy about it by the look he gave me.
"And Di wouldn't have to change schools because our towns share a school district. I can come over ALL the time. I might even have time to teach Jaleia some class." She said. I let that insult fly over my head.
"Oh my Gosh, she'll be here all the time Jess, isn't that going to be great?" I said, squeezing Jesse's hand.
"Super." He said.
"Don't get too excited. I still need them to accept my offer."
"Oh we would hate to Jinx it."
"Why do you have so many damn post its everwhere? Your house looks like a damn clown house."
"It's how I remember some of the stuff I have to do. Or how Jesse reminds me."
"I forgot you were one of those scattered brained people." She said her face turning up into an unpleasant expression. She was the type of person to say that ADHD wasn't a real thing or was a "white people" thing just because she didn't like me. But for anyone else it was a legitimate problem.
"Mom. You know-" Jesse started but I interrupted him. I wasn't going to have this conversation with her again, she knew what she was doing and I refused to waste time entertaining it. I had enough of a hard time dealing with having it, and an even harder time with people dealing with it. It wasn't something that most people knew about me. And I intentionally did that. And she knows that's a sore spot with me which is why I won't give her the satisfaction of upsetting me.
"Jesse your mom already knows and we've already had the discussion about her lack of sensitivity. So I won't discuss it again."
I felt my stomach bubble and decided to take my leave now before it got too much. I tapped Jesse's leg before I went to the upstairs bathroom this time. After emptying my digestive tract again and brushing my teeth I started to come downstairs. I stopped when I heard Jesse's voice sounding slightly angry.
"I told you mom, you have to stop. Nobody wants to deal with you criticizing them all the time."
"Well you know how I feel about her, I'm telling you, you settled with her. She is such a downgrade. And she's crazy, I mean she calls it ADHD, but come on? The girl is not wrapped tight. "
"I try to be patient with you, but you're not going to keep talking about her like that. Enough is enough. Stop it. I'm so sick of it."
"Fine, I'll try to keep my opinions to myself. I'm sorry to upset you but I'm your mother. It's my job to tell you the truth. You don't have to like it."
"Look when she comes down you need to apologize. She doesn't deserve that. "
I heard her sigh. "Whatever."
I continued my walk downstairs. Jesse had this crazy idea after the first time I met his mom that eventually she would grow to like me. But in actuality, she just hated me more with every day. He tried to keep the peace, and he always tried to get us to get along but as I've told him, it is never going to work.
"Mom." Jesse said. Aiesha sighed and gave me the most indifferent expression on her face and said.
"I apologize."
"Okay." I said. Jesse gave me a look to which I non verbally responded "What?"
His mom got up and went downstairs to the basement to talk to Diana.
"Jay." Jesse said.
"What?" I said.
"At least she apologized."
"If that's what you want to call it. I should not have eaten that pasta." I said as my stomach suddenly started bubbling again.
"I told you! You have to throw up again?" He said laughing.
"Worse, other end." I said running to the bathroom.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
I sat on the toliet seat and put the timer on my phone. I tried not to obsess too much about getting pregnant and I tried to wait a little longer before taking the test but it was three days since I missed my period and I couldn't wait any longer.
My timer went off. I grabbed the stick and took a deep breath, and looked.
