You finally gathered the courage within you to end your relationship with Sasuke. This wasn’t an easy decision. In fact it was tearing you apart. You still loved him. But the differences between your priorities and his were far too different to the point where they were conflicting with each other.

You might as well have been talking to a wall that day with how blank his expression was after you just announced how you were breaking up with him. The loud silence was killing you inside, does he not care at all?

-You wanting to break up with him was like a jab at his ego. The Sasuke Uchiha. The last prodigy of his clan and you wanted to leave him? Though this enraged him, he refused to let you know it. He couldn’t let you have the satisfaction of knowing that this actually affected him.

-After you left the apartment he started to completely trash the place. Everything in it was obliterated into nothingness. But as soon as he went out in public he acted completely fine as if nothing happened.

-Anytime you were around he would make sure you saw him with other girls. He wanted to show you that he could be with anybody he desired without a problem, at any given second. Show you that you weren’t nothing special to him.

-He was lying. Because as soon as you left his vision he treated the girls like shit and pushed them aside after they served their purpose in making you jealous.

-He tried to sleep with random women in the village to further prove that he didn’t need you. (He was really just trying to convince himself) but he couldn’t bring himself to do so. None of them even compared to your beauty. Even the thought of another person lying on the bed you two once shared disgusted him.

-After weeks of this even Sasuke couldn’t believe his own facade. He craved you. He craved your smile, your laughter, Your touch. And is willing to do whatever it takes to remind you that you belong with him.

-He sucked up his pride and begged Naruto to send you two on missions together. So you’d be basically forced to talk to each other . (Naruto uses this against him every now and then)

-During one of the missions, one of your comrades decide to get a little touchy with you. You pay this no mind since you have no interest in the guy, but Sasuke definitely notices it. What’s a worthless ninja doing talking to what’s his?

-A couple of days after that mission, the scenario of another man getting that close to you haunted Sasuke day and night. There’s no way in hell you’d ever willingly decide to be with any other man but him. Right? He needed the reassurance and he needed it now.

-It was 4 am when you opened the door to your apartment after you were awoken by loud desperate banging on the door just to be faced with your ex. He invited himself in, closing the door behind him as he slowly crept towards you.

“Sasuke?”

-He reached for your hand and held it in his, as he focused on you as if there was nothing else in this world. You could tell he developed dark circles since the last time you saw him.

“The day we got together was the day I chose you to be the one I repopulate my clan with. The only one worthy of the surname Uchiha. You’re mine and I’m yours.”

-He noticed how you were at a loss of words so he took this moment to do what he’s been yearning to. He grabbed the back of your head pulling you into a kiss. The kiss was messy and desperate. He kissed you as if you were the oxygen he needed to breathe. And to him, you were.

-Needless to say you were vulnerable to his request and took him back. How could you not?

ALPHA! NARUTO

naruto is a joyous and energetic person, his gift are as vibrant as him. in order to court you, he would definitely take you out on some dates. ichiraku ramen sounds like the perfect place to begin his courting! it's a place which holds countless of precious memories for him and he wants you to get to know him better. he's someone who speaks his mind, so I think he'll really talk openly about his desires and interests in you, it's one of the rare times he's being serious and it's truly a sight to see.

onto a more materialistic approach, naruto will 100% gifts you plushies. he thinks it's an adorable way to connect the both of you. extra points if the plushie is the effigy of kurama! he will sometimes scent it, sometimes not. it all depends on how you react to them, he'll pay attention to your reactions and decides if that was the right move.

I also think naruto will choose a more natural and spontaneous courting, surprising you with cute and funny outings. helping you escape at night so you can both see the stars together. he'll throw cute notes at you to cheer you up during class...

overall, naruto just wishes to spend more time with you, make you laugh and smile. he really considers your happy face as a reward, it literally makes his day. he wants the both of you to know each other and grow closer.

ALPHA! SASUKE

now sasuke is definitely more reserved in his approach and less explicit about his feelings for you. nonetheless, he won't stay on the sidelines and let other alphas steal you from him. I don't think he'll give you gifts at the very beginning, he's prudent and will first and foremost test the waters by subtly scenting you at times and assess your reaction. if he considers it a green light, he'll start acting more assertive. probably a few stargazing sessions to begin with and when you start to get closer, he'll be more possessive about his courting.

I think he would give an item related to his clan. it could be a luxurious silk robe with the uchiha crest at its back. he would love to see you wear it, in his mind, it serves as a symbol of unity and pride, having his omega wear that would reinforce the seriousness of your relationship along with solidifying his potential claim on you.

in the same spirit, later into the courting, sasuke would gift you a uchiha clan heirloom. that way, he puts you under his protection and his claim on you is now strong and clear, serving as a warning to all alphas that you're his. its strengthens your bond as it's a deep acknowledgment of the importance your hold in his life.

and in fact, sasuke's gift serves as a proof of his commitment to you and your relationship and it feels reassuring to know that he considers you as a member of his clan.

ALPHA! SHIKAMARU

as expected of shikamaru, he has a pretty good understanding of omegas' nature and will therefore, make pretty good gifts. he has a pretty laidback behaviour, this is why I think he wouldn't want to make courting seems too ceremonial and will adopt a more casual approach. oh you're cold ? here's his jacket, scented. you don't even have to ask, shikamaru is just great at making things seem so normal. you mentioned you liked soft items ? here's a cute blanket he bought today, no it's not really a gift, just a thanks for spending the day with him. and it's just that. of course if you're careful you'll catch him blushing if he sees you snuggling his scarf, it's redolent with his pheromones and he's pleased to see you look so safe.

other than that, it's mainly lazy indoor dates. just you taking a few naps, progressively getting closer to each other until you eventually fall asleep on his chest.

overall, shikamaru likes to do things according to your tastes and doesn't want his courting to seem unnatural and bizarre. he tries his best to be his usual self while also trying not to get too shy, surprisingly.

ALPHA! ROCK LEE

lee is a great alpha, always cheering you on. he's very open about his love for you and he just needs you to give in. of course he knows you're more reserved and needs more time to get to know him before you can make a decision. that's why he's so patient and devoted to you during the courting process. flowers, cheesy love notes, wood sculptures with your initials... with lee it's never ending and you're always surprised with what he was able to come up with.

he will give you gifts, but he'll also often take you out on dates for fun adventures, at least that's what he calls them. genuinely thinks rock climbing & hiking are the best ideas. if he discovers you're not sporty at all, don't worry! lee is more than happy to carry you around, take your hands to help you walk through a particularly tricky path and asks you if you need a break every five minutes. he takes it as his chance to prove to you how alpha, how reliable he is. how much his unwavering determination and passion are yours only.

probably will try cooking snacks, like cookies or brownies but I don't think he's that much of a cook so it'll end up messy. you'll have to console him about this fail attempt and reassure him that you can be the one cooking for him instead!

ALPHA! NEJI

neji is a great observer, he has your tastes and hobbies all figured out and he knows how to choose the perfect gifts. he is very gentle with the omega he is trying to court and his gifts are as thoughtful as you can imagine. small accessories! after assessing what you like, he'll settle on a small hairpin with soft colours, which compliment your eyes. jewelry as well! a subtle bracelet, a ring or anything, just to remind you that he thinks about you all the time. it's a way to show people that you too are connected and that neji is already pursuing you, the others can back off.

he knows you're sensitive to smells, so probably a few candles with sweet fragrant and cute designs. perfumes? (or insence burner) as long as he likes the smell, he's buying. he loves to know you're wearing the scent he has chosen for you, it's like a pre-mark. it's not his scent yet but it's only a matter of time.

however, neiji will not force things, you'll wear his pheromones yes, but only when you feel ready and you have completely accepted him.

a delicately sewed kimono, or an item you'll be able to wear more easily, like a scarf, gloves... but! his favourite courting gift and the gift which really sealed your relationship is the cute pendant around your neck, carrying a piece of his cloth so that you always smell like him. it's subtle, but enough for the time being, he'll have plenty more time later to scent you profusely!

ALPHA! ITACHI

to. provide.

this man's main goal is to provide for you and to show you he can do it. he's reliable and he's desperate to have a chance with you. please notice him.

while getting to know him, you'll get plenty of nest items, scented of course. a lot of blankets, a few pillows and some of his clothes, he'll give it all to you. he'll even help you build your nest if you let him, he's not so sure about what he's doing but he's attentive and learns fast so you can count on him!

he'll get you food as well. you'll never be hungry with itachi. when you meet up, if he didn't already brought snacks with him, you can be sure he'll buy some later just for you. you paying isn't even a option.

just like his brother, he'll give you clothes you can wear on a daily basis with the uchiha clan crest on them. all that to assure your protection and to claim you, nobody wants to meet a jealous uchiha anyways.

he's a bit quiet at times so he'll use notes to share his feelings. it's always really touching and delicate, you know he means it.

He uses it nonchalantly or when he’s being goofy. Like everytime he leaves home you always say “be safe baby” and he always responds with “yes ma’am.” In a serious tone. He knows you worry that one day he may not come back so he must reassure you!

“Be safe Sasuke. I expect you home by 10!” “Yes ma’am, i will I promise. I must go now! I’ll see you at dinner darling” you whisper “it’s cute when you call me that” right before he closes the door (he heard it anyways)

He is such a good boyfriend honestly. He’s the kind of guy to do little tasks for you when you ask. So normally when your to lazy all you gotta do is ask him to do it instead!

“Tachi, can you please get me some more water?” “Yes ma’am!!!” Very rare times you ask him to do something without him responding with a “yes ma’am~”

Kakashi🍃-*

His mouth gets himself in trouble, sometimes he says things that could be viewed a different way without realizing it. For example he once said you remind him of a frog. I don’t know how it’s a compliment but he meant it as one…which obviously you didn’t know

“ARE YOU CALLING ME AN UGLY FROG KASHI?!” “N-no ma’am! That’s not what I mea-” “NO I KNOW WHAT YOU MEANNNN! Like kakashi his mouth gets him in trouble, exept Kiba does it on purpose to try and get a rise out of you he likes it when your rough ofc that means he just teases as much as possible, but then he tries acting all innocent

He only calls you ma’am when you nag him about doing chores or helping you cook, he knows he can’t say no but “maam” is his only way of back talk

“Hey Shika be a dear and take out the trash” “ahhh yes anything for you ma’am.” He responded in the most sarcastic voice he could make “watch that tone babe!” “Yeah yeah whatever, such a pain” “I’ll show you pain.” A water bottle was soon thrown directly at his head LOL

Call me weird but I feel like if he was going to call you something like that he would call you mistress instead but that’s for another time! When he does call you ma’am it’s mostly because he admires your leadership. You guys would be testing battle strategy and when you command him into a certain position you could here his cheerful “yes ma’am” while he runs into position

He only uses it to get out of trouble actually. When he does something he isn’t supposed to he tries lying abt what he did

It had been so very long since the last time you laid eyes on that crimson, gem-like gaze of his. "everything alright, sasuke?" you asked, tilting your head. "your ramen's getting cold."

he finally looked up, his expression unreadable. "it's fine," he muttered, pushing the bowl away slightly. you frowned, a sliver of unease settling in your gut. sasuke wasn't one to waste perfectly good ichiraku ramen.

"is something bothering you?" you pressed, concerned about lacing your voice. he remained silent for a moment, then spoke in a clipped tone, "who was that guy you were talking to earlier?"

you blinked, taken aback. "kaito? he's just a friend from the academy."

sasuke's jaw clenched for a brief moment, barely noticeable. "just a friend, huh?" he said, his voice low and dangerous.

the playful banter you were used to with him was absent, replaced by a tense undercurrent that made the air crackle. you furrowed your brow, completely thrown off by his behaviour. sasuke uchiha, jealous? it was a concept so outlandish it almost seemed comical.

"hey, you okay?" you asked cautiously, reaching across the table to place a hand on his arm. his skin was cool beneath your touch. he flinched slightly at your contact, his eyes hardening.

"i'm fine," he snapped, pulling his arm away. you recoiled slightly, stung by his sudden coldness. this wasn't the sasuke you knew. the ramen shop, usually a haven of comfortable silence between you two, felt suffocating.

you finished wiping your hands with a napkin, the silence stretching between you. "i think i'll head home," you announced, your voice barely above a whisper.

sasuke stood up abruptly, his chair scraping harshly against the floor. "i'll walk you," he said, his voice gruff.

the walk back to your apartment was filled with an awkward tension. you stole glances at sasuke, his expression unreadable. he walked a step ahead of you, his usual confident stride replaced by a stiff gait.

just as you reached your building, you stopped, unable to bear the silence any longer. "what's going on, sasuke?" you asked, your voice trembling slightly.

he finally turned to face you, his eyes stormy. "you and your friend," he said, his voice tight. "you two seemed awfully close."

you scoffed, a spark of anger igniting within you. "close? we were just catching up. since when do you care about who i talk to?"

his jaw clenched again, and for a fleeting moment, you saw a flicker of vulnerability in his eyes before it was masked by his usual stoicism. "just a question," he muttered, his voice laced with something that sounded suspiciously like… insecurity?

you stared at him, bewildered. jealousy, insecurity – these were emotions you never thought you'd associate with sasuke. "sasuke," you said softly, stepping closer to him. "kaito's just a friend. nothing more."

he didn't respond, his gaze fixed on something over your shoulder. you reached out and cupped his face, forcing him to look at you. his eyes darted around, refusing to meet yours.

"hey," you said gently, your thumb tracing a circle on his cheek. "look at me."

he hesitated for a moment, then slowly, his gaze met yours. the storm in his eyes had calmed, replaced by a mixture of confusion and… something else you couldn't quite place.

"you… you two are so close, it's adorable," he finally said, a hint of sarcasm lacing his voice. but it was a poor attempt, the strain evident in his forced nonchalance.

you couldn't help but let out a small laugh, the tension easing from your shoulders. "oh, sasuke," you sighed, amusement dancing in your eyes. "is that what this is all about?"

he looked away, a faint blush creeping up his neck. "no," he mumbled, his voice barely audible.

you leaned in closer, a playful smile on your lips. "then what is it?" you whispered, your breath tickling his ear.

he remained silent for a moment, then mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like, "maybe i just don't like the idea of someone else taking up your time."

your heart skipped a beat. sasuke uchiha, admitting he didn't like someone else taking up your time? it was a revelation that sent a wave of warmth through you.

a slow smile spread across your face. "well, sasuke," you said, leaning up to brush your lips against his into a soft kiss. he stiffened for a moment, surprised by the sudden contact, then melted into it, his arms coming up to wrap around you. the kiss was brief, a mere brush of lips, but it held a depth of unspoken emotions that left you both breathless.

when you pulled away, a blush stained his cheeks, a stark contrast to his usual pale complexion. "see," you murmured, a playful glint in your eyes, "you don't need to worry about kaito or anyone else."

he stared at you for a moment, his expression unreadable, then a small, genuine smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "just promise you won't ditch me for him next time, alright?" he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

you chuckled, the sound light and carefree. "there won't be a next time," you promised, looping your arm through his. "besides, who could ever compare to the brooding intensity of uchiha sasuke?"

he snorted, a rare sound that sent a thrill down your spine. "very funny," he muttered, but there was a hint of amusement in his voice.

the walk back to your apartment was no longer filled with awkward silence. you teased him about his jealousy, earning a playful scowl and a muttered retort. the air crackled with a different kind of tension now, a charged intimacy that made your heart race.

as you reached your apartment door, you stopped, turning to face him. "so," you said, a mischievous glint in your eyes, "care to come in for some tea… uchiha-san?"

he smirked, a genuine one this time. "maybe," he drawled, his eyes glinting with a familiar playfulness. "but only if you promise to make it worth my while."

you leaned in closer, your voice a husky whisper. "don't worry, sasuke," you said, your breath warm against his ear, "i have a feeling you'll be very well rewarded."

he chuckled, a low rumble that sent shivers down your spine. he leaned down, his lips brushing your ear as he whispered, "just the way i like it."

you pulled him inside your bedroom while closing the door behind you.

Next thing I knew, I was kissing Naruto, again, and this time it wasn’t an accident. I don’t know what got into me but he was arguing with me about him being stronger and he could do anything he wanted to me. As he was shouting at me, I was focused on his lips. Someone in the comments of my own fic asked for NaruSasu recs, so I thought I'd also make a post compiling my absolute favourites here! I've been so fortunate with the response to my work on AO3 so I hope this is a nice way to share the love around:

Swimming against the current by GODZILLA90095. Part 1 of the series with the same name. College AU. When I tell you I devoured this fanfic........ Lowkey-emo!Sasuke, hockey-player!Naruto. It's funny, it's got lots of pinning, it's got feels, it's got Naruto figuring out his sexuality in the most typically Naruto way, basically it's got IT ALL. And the writing is amazing. It was the fic that inspired me to get on the website and post my own work.

Tears don't fall by GODZILLA90095 (again bcs they rule). Part 1 of the series A different way but just as good. Modern AU. It's kind of a Naruto and Sasuke get a second chance in their 30s after a huge break-up. Naruto has kids with Hinata, but he's gay. It's heartbreaking, raw, real, beautiful.... fuckkkk read it!!!

The Symposium series by candlewix. Told from the perspective of ace!Kakashi. We see Naruto and Sasuke's love story across the years from his eyes. No one, I mean NO ONE, is as funny as this author. The way they write Kakashi's POV is hilarious, but so well balanced by the profound and beautiful descriptions the author writes about what Nart and Sake mean to each other. ugh.

We Deserved a Better Ending My Love by narutophobia. Reencarnation babyyy! Naruto and Sasuke in modern times, but everything that was in canon was real just reaaally long ago. Naruto remembers, searches for Sasuke (who doesnt remember!!). SHENANIGANS ensue. Beautiful love story and such an interesting take on things.

love like this is forever by moonplums. Part 1 of the series forever. It's set in Boruto era/world - I am not usually into that tbh, it gives me anxiety to think about Sasuke and Naruto not getting together after the war BUT this series does it quite nicely, kind of like they have their awakening later in life and it's very cute how they have a family with the kids. Sarada's POV. Worth reading for sure!

when it all comes together, there's just you by kintou. It's short fragments of both Naruto and Sasuke discovering their sexualities across the years, with and without each other. Super cute and interesting, and smutty! I love the concept. (author is @ao3-kintou on tumblr!)

Now this boy has a lot of hair, it’s a like a blanket! So sometimes you just cling to his back and bury your head into his fluffy hair.
