Surprise : Matt Murdock imagine
Tumblr media
asked by @v4leoftears as a part of my celebration
A/N: it;s been a while since I wrote for Matt, and damn! It's nice to get back to that :D, words in italics are the the references to the past, at first, and Matt;s thoughs, later.
****************************************
„Suprise!”
Matt could barely do as little as open the door to his place when Karen, Foggy and  Y/N jumped out of different furniture and started happily screaming. They have been planning this little birthday party for him for a while now. Even though Y/N was not sure about hiding in the Daredevil’s apartment, her friends convinced her to do so.
“Come on! It’s gonna be fun!” Foggy said
“Unless he goes full vigilante mode and kills us all in a blink of an eye. You do realize he can hear people heartbeats, right? What do you think would be his first reaction upon sensing three of those in his flat?” she scoffed
“You are too modest, my friend. Everyone knows Matt can tell your heart from everyone else’s. It just beats differently, cause he is soooo in love with you” Nelson grinned at poor, blushing girl.
“Stop it , Franklin!”
“Don’t be me mad at me…..”
“I'm not mad!”
“Last time someone used my real name was probably in middle school, so yes, I can tell you are.”
“We can use some nice scent to calm him down” Karen suggested “I don’t think he would become suspicious if he smells the freshly baked cake or something like this. Or maybe we can get some of his favorite takeout?”
“Nah.” Y/N shook her head “it’s his birthday. We are not taking take-out. If anything I am going to prepare something nice from the scratch.”
“Oh, I’m so glad you agreed to this. I was truly worrying you were going to leave us alone with all the preparations.”
“When did I agree…..?” Y/N trailed, but quickly realized how tricked she was “oh, damn…..”
The three friends had their hands full for the last couple days. The hardest task was probably pretending that they had no clue Matt’s birthday were coming. Even though he was throwing hints left and right.
“I think I should replace my hoodie soon, it seems like it is tearing.” He said one day.
“Really? I know a nice shop with good men’s clothes so I can take you there.” Y/N replied not even looking up from her documents
“I’m running low on medical supplies” he whined on the other
“too many dangerous adventures lately?” Foggy laughed “maybe the devil needs retirement.”
“I might be taking some time off next Thursday., That’s a special date for me” was probably the most suggestive.
“All right. I’ll write it down so no one forgets and won’t take any clients of yours then.” Karen smiled brightly not catching the bait.
So all that left Matt in sad belief that no one of his friends remembered and made him just a bit more nostalgic than usual. He spoke less and tried to bury himself in the work. The plan was working just perfectly.
The only thing left to do was performing some magic so the three of them could leave the office early on that big day, without making Matt suspicious. Now that, that would be a challenge, no doubts. He was just too… careful and observant.
But during all those times of being friends with him, Foggy, Karen and Y/n got sneaky and creative as well. Maybe even more than Matt, since, after all, they were the ones who had to keep his identity a secret and come up with excuses for him being late or bruised or disheveled.
So when the next Thursday finally came, miraculously Y/N got sick, Karen found a lead of a new investigation and Foggy had a family emergency. As a result Matt was left alone in the office, sulking, putting on his characteristic sad wet cat expression and getting lost in thoughts. Somewhere around six he gave up completely and with a deep sigh left the office heading straight towards his apartment. Apparently the only thing he could hope for (even on his b-day) was getting into gear and getting beaten up.
Yeah, well. If only he had more faith in his friends.
“SURPRISE!”
“What…..?” his surprised gaze landed somewhere above Y/N’s head, all his posture asking for any kind of explanation. “What…..?”
“Oh, you silly one!” Y/N rushed towards him, enveloping him a tight hug in which he immediately got lost “Please tell me, you did not actually think we forgot about your special day?”
“I….. I kinda did…..”
“You are a man of a little faith, my friend” Foggy laughed, reaching for the paper hat and putting it on Matt’s head.  “We’re gonna party like we did in college.” he added, handing him a bunch of party baloons in different shapes and sizes.
“We weren’t exactly party animals, Foggy.”
“Stop embarrassing us in front of the girls, Murdock!”
“If only that were the only thing that you can get ashamed of” Y/N rolled her eyes and grabbed Matt’s hand leading him inside “stop standing in the threshold birthday boy. There’s more than just some gadgets which were actually Foggy's ideas. ”
“Now you got me worried. I seriously hope you did not set fire in my apartment”
“Idiot!” Y/N smacked his head playfully “use some of your supersenses! Do you smell burnt?”
“Not really.” He smiled lightly “it’s actually pretty nice scent. What did you make?”
“Something special.” Karen grinned, getting the food out the oven “we figured you could actually use some home-cooked meal, instead of take-out again.”
“You shouldn’t have…..”
“Nonsense.” Foggy muttered.
“You, Nelson, have nothing to say in the matter! We made it all from scratch, you just came for the done!”
“Oh, I’m sorry! I brought the presents! That was some heavy lifting”
“Guys!” Karen interrupted Y/N and Foggy’s banter “stop fighting, we should focus on the man of the hour.”
“No, please.” Matt whispered “laugh and bicker all you want. I haven’t had so much laugh and fun in here for a while. It’s just …. nice. Thank you all.”
“Don’t thank us, yet. At least not before tasting and opening the gift.”
“You really shouldn’t have…..”
“Mattie….” Y/N took a step towards him “listen to me” she grabbed his face in her hands and looked him straight into the eyes “you. deserve it. All right? Nod If you understand.” He nodded obediently “don’t you ever think differently, love.”
“Ok, you two lovebirds, come sit and let us eat! I’m hungry!”
“You are always hungry, Foggy!”
“I’m a busy, important man! I’m entitled to be hungry. Can I start now?”
“ NO!” Karen and Y/N yelled in unison
“WHY?!”
“Not before a birthday cake!”
“There’s a birthday cake?” Matt raised his happy, gazeless eyes onto his friends “really?”
“Of course. What’s a b-day party without a cake? Now, here.” The girls put the dessert onto the table and lighted the candles.
“We weren’t sure how old you were, you ancient one….” Foggy joked
“We were actually surprised you lived this long…..” Karen added
“So this is just symbolic number.” Y/N ended the sentence “But the wish is yours to make.”
“I don’t…..”
“Sh! You don’t have to say it outloud. Just think it. It’s all right.”
“All right.” Matt whispered, his eyes glimming a bit as he leaned over the candles and blew them off in the first try.
“Please, I just want them to stay with me like this. I don’t want to be alone ever again”. He though
“Yes!” his friends clapped happily “you made it, it’s gonna come true! Happy birthday, Matt!"
It already did. He closed his eyes, trying to process all those happy feelings bubbling inside him. Thank you, lord. I don’t deserve any of this.
“Finally! Can I eat now?!”
Matthew Murdock never believed he could be happy. He was used to constant pain, fear, guilt and regret.  The feeling on carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders all alone. He was a martyr, who put himself on the cross and forgot how to get down from it. And now? Now all that emptiness that was his best friend, was extruded by laughing, joy and that warming presence of his favorite people – friends and the love of his life. They really were here. Despite everything he did, what he put them thought, they never stopped believing in him, never left him. God, he truly did not deserve them. Their voices, jokes and bantering was exactly what he needed. A reminder that no matter what he was not alone. He smiled lightly, digging into the food. Made just for him. To celebrate him. All the effort they put into that, all the planning and preparations. It was just too much to handle and he started to shake, almost unnoticeably by anyone.
Anyone except Y/N, who sat the closest to him.
“Matty?” she reassuringly put  a hand on his shoulder throwing him off his reverie “Are you all right?”
“I’m just…. I need a second all right?” he stood up from the table and exit the room, followed by his friends’ surprised gazes. Y/N didn’t even need to think twice when she walked right after him towards the bedroom. Her man was just sitting on the bed, sobbing lightly and that made her blood freeze in her veins.
“Matty?” in a blink of an eye she was by his side, cradling his head and taking all the mixed-up emotions filling him whole “what happened, love? Sh.” She caressed his cheek lovingly “it’s all good. Tell me. I can’t let you go through a mental breakdown tonight. And well, ever. But especially tonight. Tell me, Matt.”
“You’re just all so good to me.” He whispered, hiding face in the crook of her neck “I still can’t process that…”
“Process what, silly? That we love you? That we care about you? That we only want what best for you? Even if sometimes requires tough love?”
“Yes.” He confessed and his confession made her tighten the grip on him
“Good thing we can always remind you.” she smiled and kissed the top of his head
“Thank you, Y/N.”
“Of course. I told you. You deserve it. You are a good person, Matthew Murdock. Stubborn like hell and individualistic, for sure, but deep down, nothing but good.”
‘Can we stay here for a while?” he asked just wanting to be with her until he got back his composure.
“I think….” She trailed, but sudden yelling from the dining room cut her off.
“Are you two gonna come out so Matt can open the presents?!”
“WHO’S BIRTHDAY IS IT, FOGGY?!” Y/N yelled back “WHY DO YOU FEEL THE URGE TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO IN WHAT ORDER?!”
All Foggy did in response was a happy laugh.
“something tells me he's getting another kind of present there!”
“Shut up, Franklin!” she couldn’t help but blush a bit “what do you say, jubiliarian, shall we get back?”
“Only if you give me your present later…” he smirked and kissed her cheek.
“We’ll see about that…..”

2, 7, and 33 for the writing asks! -em
Weird Questions for Writers post
2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?
Nope, I couldn't! This is purely an accessibility issue for me. I can't write by hand for very long before my hand really starts to hurt. Also my spelling is sooo much worse. When I'm typing I rely a lot on muscle memory to spell words correctly, but when I'm doing it by hand the dyslexia is really a problem. Like m/w get switched, or b/d, b/p, d/a, d/q, p/q, f/t, i/j, even u/v. Sure I know I want to write an 'm', but I might end up writing a 'w' because it's the same letter just mirrored. Or I'm trying to write 'a' but my hand keeps going so now it's a 'd'.
The thing is, I didn't even realize I was dyslexic until a few years ago! So until my late 30’s I struggled so much with any kind of writing and didn’t know why it was so hard. If I mentioned to anyone that spelling was really hard for me they’d always say stuff like “But you’re so good at reading!” So I thought I was stupid or not trying hard enough, even though deep down I knew there was something going on that wasn’t my fault. Writing by hand actually gives me a lot of anxiety because of all those years being judged for something I didn’t have control over. And honestly, I don’t think I would’ve ever trying writing if I didn’t know I was dyslexic. Because I still would’ve been blaming myself for being neurodivergent.
7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
Answered here.
33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?
Yes I do! I’ve done a ton of different arts and crafts over the years. My grandma taught me to crochet when I was 8, and that’s something I’ve done on and off ever since. Generally I crochet lace because the feeling of most yarn as it passes over my fingers gets really irritating, and fine cotton doesn’t. Also I like to challenge myself to make tiny, tedious things! I used to draw, but gave that up in my late teens because of how quickly my hand would start to hurt. Though I really miss it. I’ve dabbled in quite a few different types of embroidery: cross stitch, needlepoint, and drawn thread work. But my favorite is black work/double running stitch/Holbein stitch which I always make completely reversible with no visible knots because I’m nuts like that. I know how to sew, both by machine and hand. I’m not an expert at it, but I can do basic fitting and make clothing that isn’t very complicated. Quilting is something I’ve dabbled in, and would like to do more of, it’s so different than sewing clothing! Another thing I want to do more of is making chain maille jewelry, I’ve done a bit of it and it was really fun! (I’m purposefully leaving out quite a few things I’ve done because it’s already a long list, lol!)
My favorite art form besides writing is bead work! There is something so satisfying to me about working with beads. For one I love jewelry, which I think is a large part my grandpa’s fault (he was a rock hound/amateur lapidary artist, and he used to make jewelry for me). And I love both the technical/mechanical side of bead work, and the artistic/design side of it! It doesn’t matter if it’s bead weaving, if it’s stringing beads, or combining beads with wirework! I love all of it! Working with beads just clicks on a deeper level for me than most art forms I’ve tried.
As to whether it ties in to my writing, I guess that depends on how you interpret that question. I use a lot of lessons I’ve learned about creativity and my own creative process when I write. The way I approach writing is heavy informed by how I work in other mediums. And if it makes sense in the story, I will absolutely use knowledge about other types of art in my writing. Though I haven’t had much opportunity to do so yet. That’s only a matter of time, I usually give my own characters a hobby I’m at least a little knowledgeable about, so it will come up at some point or another.
Thanks for the ask, Em! Also I turned this into more essays, lol!
Oh, man I was looking for examples of some of my work, but I have hardly any photos of things I've made! Well, I did find a couple I can show.
Tumblr media
This was done for a drawing class I took when I was 18. While I have regrets about adding color to it, I still think it turned out pretty well. I used a photograph of some rhododendrons from an old National Geographic as reference.
Tumblr media
I made these earrings for my mom back in 2015. They're sterling silver and apatite with silk thread woven through the fine chain to add more color. The silver beads next to the drops are 2mm, and the total length is only 1.5 inches/3.8 cm, so you can see I tend to work small.

Homecoming
I’m gonna keep my asks closed still, but I’m actually really proud of this bit of writing I did! It really boosted my confidence in my writing again, so I MIGHT open asks again soon, but I’m not sure...still on the fence.
For now, just enjoy me indulging in a fandom I am currently in the throws of being a fan of!
Now, on the topic of what to expect from this fic in particular. Creative liberties with the canon is a given. Akechi’s revealed to be alive, he is likely out of character in some fashion, and Akira is aged up so that he came to Tokyo at 17 and left it at 18. This story is just for fun, so please don’t come for me about these changes.
The day had come. In the blink of an eye, Akira had spent an entire year with Sojiro, attending Shujin academy, and making friends with the kids who had become the phantom thieves with him. And now, there he was. Waiting for a train with a suitcase in one hand and Morgana's weight pulling at the school bag on his shoulder.        "Man, do you have to leave? Can't you just continue to live at LeBlanc?" Ryuji asked with the best kicked-puppy look in his brown eyes, standing with the dark-haired teen while he waited, but Akira shook his head, making his friend sigh heavily, "Can't you stay with me? Maybe Haru?" He tried again, I wish I could, Akira thought, but instead of voicing the words, he simply continued to mournfully shake his head,        "My parents would miss me," He explained instead, watching the blonde's expression fall further and giving him a tight hug to communicate all of the regret and dread he didn't have the strength to say. Letting the ex-track star try to hug the breath out of him in return.        "Maybe I can hide in your suitcase. Come back with you," That suggestion got a small laugh from the teen, patting Ryuji's back comfortingly before the rumbling of his train arriving signaled it was time to separate. "At least keep in contact, okay?" The blonde sniffed, his brown eyes glistening, but any threatening tears were stubbornly kept from falling, much the same case as Akira's own eyes, he was sure.
With a nod, and one final, quick-yet-tight hug, Akira boarded.
Once on board, finding a seat was easy enough. The true challenge was finding ways to maintain his composure so that he wasn't sitting, curled up into a ball in the uncomfortable seat, shaking with anger, dread-ladden, and regretful sobs in front of the other passengers.
Really, why AM I so attached to going home? I'm already eighteen, I don't technically need to go. He reminded himself, but the nagging sense of unfinished business chewing at his stomach gave the answer. However, he was pulled from further thoughts when someone gently tapped his shoulder,        "Excuse me, do you think I could sit there?" A gut-wrenchingly familiar voice asked, making the teen snap his head up to the brunette detective standing in the walkway, waiting for him to move his bag with a small, warm smile.
All of a sudden, it felt like time had slammed to a halt. Taking Akira's breath with it, and leaving the teen to silently gawk at his rival.           "May I sit down, Akira?" He asked again, obviously repressing a chuckle at the way the teen shook while snatching his school bag up to clear the seat, ignoring Morgana's startled complaints at being moved.
However, the detective sitting beside him didn't open any conversation branches. Akira was too busy being consumed by the tsunami of melancholy emotions that followed the brief yet blissful moment of shock, so, Akechi was the first to talk as time finally seemed to progress once more.         "Sorry for vanishing for so long, I needed to heal." He explained, running his fingers along the inside seam of his tan coat as he spoke, but Akira simply looked out the window silently, fighting against the tide of the ever-growing emotions that had been pulling at him all day.
However, he couldn't bring himself to ignore the brunette entirely. So, despite how raw he felt on the inside, he eventually turned himself just enough to be looking at the seat in front of him, still fearing looking directly at Akechi would break him, but moving so he could just glimpse him out of the corner of his eye.          "I thought...I thought you were dead." He muttered thoughtlessly, nearly choking on the words, but Akechi didn't acknowledge it if he noticed the heavy emotion in Akira's voice,         "I...admittedly don't know if I was," He shrugged, "I don't remember much after our last conversation until I came to in reality again." He paused to look at Akira, the teen feeling his gaze burrowing under his skin the longer he chewed on his explanation. "Sorry to disappoint."
Those words hit Akira like a punch to the gut. Did I want Akechi dead? He did try to kill me and backstabbed the entire group, he asked himself, and some shred of realism did seem to agree, but that small voice of reason didn't stop the dark-haired phantom thief from looking at his rival in horror and vigorously shaking his head, making the detective raise an eyebrow,         "Oh? So, did you miss me?" Akechi asked, Akira hearing the teasing smirk in his voice despite how Akechi's face remained only slightly intrigued and felt his cheeks begin to warm a bit.
Now, Akira wasn't exactly shy, he could admit he had a bit of a crush on his rival. However, Akechi had always been very polite and purely friendly when they'd interacted before. His being so playful and relaxed, had Akira returning his gaze to the back of the seat in front of him while his insides twisted into knots like a nervous school girl attempting a confession. That feeling wasn't helped when his silence earned a chuckle from the brunette, but after that, another stretch of silence fell between them, giving the teen a chance to reign in his warring emotions before getting up the nerve to ask,       "Why are you here?" Which made Akechi blink a bit,       "You mean on the train?" The detective skewed his mouth to the side as he thought of how to word his next few lines, "Well, I could lie and say it's for a case, but I followed you." He admitted, getting eyed quizzically by the phantom thief until he smiled more, "Maybe I'm going to kill you properly this time, I haven't decided."
That time it was his turn to shake his head and wave his hand dismissively as he laughed at the way Akira straightened in his seat and glared at him,        "I'm joking! I don't plan on trying a second time. I have no actual reason to now." He promised, but when the dark-haired teen's storm-cloud-colored eyes didn't lose their lightning, his humor faded and he just sighed, "Yes, I was- am, jealous of how you handle your circumstances, and how you have a family to go back to." He admitted with a momentarily dark look cast to the floor of the train before he continued in his casual tone again, unaware of how Akira had to bite back a physical cringe at his words, "But I've been given an out for my crimes. I don't wish to risk jail again by another attempt at ending you."
For a tense moment, Akira and Akechi stared at one another. With how easily the brunette had lied and manipulated him before, Akira made sure to scrutinize every small shift in the man's body language or glint in his eyes, but when he found nothing new in the darkness his companion's eyes held, he sighed and sat back in the uncomfortable train seat. Leaving the conversation there.
Instead, the duo simply spent the rest of the ride in silence. Akira stared out the window at the passing plant life and buildings, mulling over the bombshell that now sat beside him. Akechi simply read or played on his phone for the duration of the trip, oblivious to the battle of anguish and relief that waged an arm rest's width away from him.
What do I do now? The teen asked himself as buildings blurred by outside. He doesn't have the same venom he had when we last met, but I still can't say he's actually turned over a new leaf. What if this is still some facade? Flopping his head against the warm glass of the window, Akira sighed. Even after all of his agonizing over what to do, his heart hadn't changed, still, a brick sitting stubbornly in his ribcage. However, as if the maelstrom of emotions swirling inside of him needed a fresh dose of steroids, a new thought came to him. Oh god, Akechi's following me home. He's going to see where I come from and likely meet my parents.
Akira felt his spit sour in his mouth at the realization, almost certain the color had visibly drained from his face, but he tried his best to will it back before Akechi could question him. Judging by the sparks of embarrassment that were intermingling with his fear and dread, Akira couldn't take having to explain why his stomach churned at the thought of revealing his home issues to his crush.
Regardless of Akira's wishing though, the train slowed to a stop at the only train station his hometown claimed.        "Well, this looks like a quaint little town," Akechi hummed as the train pulled to a stop at the platform, "Do you mind if I get off with you?"
Even with Akira having already realized this possibility, the question still sent a bolt of confusion through his core, earning the brunette a bewildered look that likely read more you want to get off here?! rather than the Are you trying to kill me?! message it really had. So, Akechi simply rolled his mahogany-colored eyes,         "I'm not up to anything, or stupid. I'm just...trying to get to know my rival." He shrugged as he got up.
Akira sighed, but also didn't say no. In too deep at this point. So, when he gathered his bags to leave, Akechi wasn't far behind. Which made stepping out onto the familiar, empty platform feel even odder than the glasses-clad phantom thief with his ex-dead rival behind him had assumed returning home would feel after his year.         "It's weird how quiet this station is compared to the other. Very peaceful," Akechi noted, "Do I get to meet your parents next?" He asked, his words and smile almost sending butterflies swirling in Akira's stomach, but they were frozen solid before they could take off at the thought of his parents.          "Oh yeah! I wanna meet your mom and dad too!" Morgana chirped, poking his head out of the boy's bag as if the conversation had summoned him from his nap.
At first, Akira wanted to lie and say his parents were dead, or away on business, but he knew that wouldn't work. His hometown was far too small, everyone and their dogs were going to recognize him, and they'd either ask about his parents or try to warn Akechi about hanging around him.
So, with a heavy heart, Akira called his mother.

[Tacones Rojos] Chapter 12: The Goddess Who Had It All
Summary:
ACT II: GABRIELA – Gabriela has everything she could ever want - a fulfilling career, great friends, and a boyfriend that could make anyone swoon. But despite of other people's assumptions, the Goddess of Bogotá's life isn't as perfect as it seems.
– The theme song for this chapter: Dance The Night by Dua Lipa
+👠👠👠+
It had been almost two months ago since her world turned itself upside down.
Gabriela lived a fairly normal life, as normal as one could get for an indie actress who also worked part-time as a music producer. Her time was filled with plenty of highs and lows, and she loved being creative, even if the challenges stumped her out. There was nothing else Gabriela wouldn’t exchange for the world, except, maybe, for a chance to breathe.
Whenever life became too much for her, she would put on her heels and go out dancing till dawn. Dancing brought out the truest form of herself, and when she hit the floor, there was no room for anyone to cast judgment.
In the recesses of the city’s hottest nightclubs, she was free.
People called her “La Diosa”, the goddess who evoked allure, mystery, fate and prosperity. For wherever she went, they believed luck followed, and when she danced, she lit the room on fire. Everyone had a good time when she was around, and even if her heart was on the verge of breaking, it never, ever, showed. Gabriela kept everyone’s world turning, the same way she tried to keep her own from standing still.
Tonight, however, she didn’t quite feel like herself.
“Do you think he saved our spot, or do you think it’s already taken?” Her friend, Ávila, asked Gabriela as they made their way to La Tribu, a trendy bar that was on the edge of the city. It was a long way away from Gabriela’s place, but it was always well worth the trip.
“I don’t know, you’re the one with the number.” Gabriela half-heartedly commented. Normally she would be up to celebrate the weekend by going out to have fun, but it was hard to get into the mood after the terrible day she had. “Hopefully it hasn’t, but I doubt it.”
“And maybe you’re right to doubt.” Ávila cringed when they arrived and found a long line of people waiting to enter the building. “Looks like it’s busier than usual.”
Gabriela tried hard not to frown. She anticipated this, knowing that the place itself had a reputation for being one of the best within the area, but had hoped otherwise. Despite looking worn down with graffiti, La Tribu’s exterior was vibrant, reminiscent of the colorful houses in Cartegena. “I thought you messaged your boyfriend, Ávi!” She groaned, adjusting the straps of her dress while Ávila grabbed her hand so they could jump the queue. They got a few displeased looks from other people, but most gave way when they noticed who was cutting through. “That’s the only reason why I agreed to go out tonight!”
Ávila didn’t look pleased at all with Gabriela’s whining. “And I did, but I didn’t expect this crowd. Besides, do you think I’d let you be all alone in that apartment of yours, sulking while your no-good on-again, off-again, significant other fucks his way through the entire city?”
The comment stung. “That’s low.”
“And?”
“You know that he’s…sorry and has been making it up to me.” Gabriela defended, though there was a hint of hesitation in her tone. Was he? “I know he hasn’t been the best, but not all of our fights have to do with his past mistakes.”
“You know that you deserve a whole lot better than him, right?”
“Yes, but…”
“But you two have this long history together since childhood and whatnot, and he’s your first love.” Ávila made a face. “And I get that. It’s really sweet when you think about it, but when push comes to shove, he doesn’t even have the common sense to realize that whatever stupid shit he does, you’d be caught up in his mess.”
Ávila always had a way with words. They were no nonsense, given their background in the cutthroat world of fashion. They believed sugar coating made matters more complicated than it needed to be, and was brutally honest where it mattered. Gabriela understood that Ávila, while seemingly rough on the outside, was completely worried for her. They weren’t good at showing it sometimes, but she knew they meant well. They had been like that since they first started together in the industry, and while Gabriela never hid secrets, there was more to the story than Ávila knew.
It wasn’t just the longstanding history — Gabriela’s predicament had more to do with the complicated and strained relationship with her family. Apart from her brother, whom she had just recently reconnected with, she had not been in contact with her parents since they kicked her out of the house. They didn’t like Marco to begin with, and if anything, they had good reason to.
“It’s complicated, Ávi.” Was all Gabriela managed to say. “He’s trying.”
“He might, but it isn’t good enough, though, Ella.”
The place was jam-packed. There were plenty of regulars milling about, but also some new faces hanging around the counter where José, Ávila’s boyfriend, was working his magic. They didn’t need to try to catch his attention —  he spotted the two instantly. “Oh my sweet wonderful man, thank god you came through.” Ávila murmured as José led them to the far end of the room, where a free booth was waiting for them. “Forgive Ella here, amor.” Ávila maneuvered Gabriela to sit. “We’re off to a rough start.”
“Nothing a drink can’t fix.” José shrugged. “If you have any requests, just let Javier know, okay? There’s a bachelorette party going on right now, and they’ve been at it hard.”
“We’ll be fine. Now go focus on your patrons.”
“I don’t think a drink would save me.” Gabriela slumped against the table. “This sucks.”
“Oh, don’t start with the pity party.” Ávila took Gabriela’s face in their hands and squished. “How many times have you gone through this? You and Marco have broken up and gotten back together more times than I could count on one hand, and don’t get me started on the scandal that’s circulating around him right now.”
Gabriela had almost forgotten about that, but now the memory of her earlier fight with Marco came back. She squashed down the uneasiness threatening to spill her tears.
As if on cue, Gabriela’s phone began vibrating in her purse. Before she could make a move to check, Ávila snatched it off her hands. “He can’t take a hint, huh?” They scowled at the screen when they saw Marco’s name pop up. “Please don’t tell me you’re going to answer.”
“I’m not.” Gabriela grabbed the phone back to turn it off. “Can we stop talking about him right now? I just want to unwind and forget about it all.”
“That’s more like it!” Ávila instantly beamed, quickly signaling one of the servers, Javier, over. “Let’s get you something really good. We’re going to party till the sun comes up!”
As the night progressed, Gabriela managed to forget her troubles, even if only for a little while. The drinks continuously flowed, one after another. “I’m in the mood to dance, Ávi!” Gabriela tugged on Ávila’s hand towards the dance floor. “Join me?”
“No way.” Ávila teased. “You go!”
“Pretty please? I love this song!”
“Yeah, but someone needs to watch over our stuff and you know my boyfriend can’t do it for us right now.”
“But you’ll be all alone and you’re the one who invited me out.”
“I’m not going anywhere. Go and have some fun.” Ávila tried their best not to laugh and shooed Gabriela away. “This is your moment to shine. Show them how it’s really done…La Diosa!”
“Haha, stop!” Gabriela started giggling, the alcohol buzzing into her system. She playfully smacked Ávila’s shoulder. “I don’t even know how that nickname even stuck. I’m no goddess!”
“Trust me, you’re too humble for your own good sometimes.” Ávila snickered in response before Gabriela made her way confidently towards the crowd. “Hey, DJ!” They called out to the person handling the mixer. “Pump up the music! La Diosa is here to dance!”
People always wondered how Gabriela managed to balance herself in towering heels without even tripping over her feet. On any given day, she would have chosen another pair, maybe even comfortable shoes. But for times when she needed a little boost, she would pick her gorgeous, blood-red heels, and go dancing in them. The shoes weren’t always ideal to keep on for long, but it made her feel confident. Beautiful, even.
Cheers erupted from the crowd and many more joined her on the floor. Gabriela twirled and swayed to the beat like her life depended on it. All of her emotions rose up to the surface and she felt a tear run down her cheek. It twinkled like a diamond underneath the neon lights, but Gabriela didn’t care. Sweat and tears and laughter mingled with each other and it was all she lived for.
She didn’t know how long she had been dancing. The rhythm made time move differently. Gabriela was too immersed to even notice a man who moved too close for comfort next to her.
“Gabriela.”
Her euphoria was replaced with confusion. She recognized that voice anywhere. “Marco?” She whipped her head around to find her lover standing there. “What are you doing here?”
He looked disheveled, like he had rolled off the bed and dressed himself in the dark. “I have been looking everywhere for you.” Without an explanation, Marco grasped her arm and pulled her away from the dance floor. “I’m taking you home. Now.”
“Wait, wait, wait. No.” Gabriela immediately yanked him off her and for a moment, she swore his eyes darkened. “I don’t want to go home just yet. The party’s just getting started.”
Marco ran a tense hand through his hair. “Are you drunk?”
“No.” She lied. “And what’s it to you? If you’re just here to be a prick, leave. You’re ruining my night.”
He scrutinized her carefully. “Unbelievable. You’re drunk.” Marco accused. “You’re not thinking straight.”
“First of all, I’m not drunk.” Gabriela hissed, annoyed that he decided to pick a fight with her. Wasn’t our earlier one enough? “In fact, I was feeling pretty fine before you showed up unexpectedly.” Other guests had begun to notice the trouble that was brewing and watched with keen eyes. “Why are you really even here, anyway?”
“I already told you, I’m here to take you home. Why are you being so difficult, mami? ”
“Don’t you dare mami me! Do you think that coming here and suddenly acting that you actually cared would make everything better? Like how dare you think I’d go with you just because you–”
Gabriela gasped when Marco suddenly kissed her, cutting her off. “Fine. I’ll come clean. I was worried when you didn’t answer my calls or my texts. I didn’t even know if you were coming home tonight.”
She stood there unconvinced. “Look, I know doing this doesn’t make it any better, but hear me out, please.” Marco moved closer, and Gabriela could feel his hot breath near her ear. It made her shiver, and she cursed herself for feeling weak. “I wanted to apologize. I’ve been under so much pressure lately that I’ve said some things that I didn’t mean. I shouldn’t have taken it out on you, Ella. I promise, it won’t happen again.”
Minutes felt like hours, and hours felt like eternity. Gabriela wondered how many times he had used this line on her. How many promises had he not kept? Yet like the sorry sap that she was, she fell for it over and over again.
“Let me make it up to you.” He pleaded.
If Gabriela took the time to be honest with herself, her gut told her to move along, dump his sorry ass and walk away. But her heart said otherwise, knowing she was not quite ready to let it all go. In the end, he won out. “Okay.” Gabriela agreed, feeling herself getting sober. Nothing had changed. “Okay. Take me home.”
I’m in love with this man. He’s in love with me. We are happy.
She let Marco lead her out to the exit, but not before Ávila stepped in, blocking their way. “You.” They growled at him, stabbing a finger at his chest. “I don’t really know what she sees in you, but one of these days, mark my words, she will wake up and your lies will no longer hold power over her.”
“Ávi…” Gabriela began, but Ávila shook their head. “My friend deserves someone so much better than you.” They continued. “She is too good for you.”
Marco ignored Ávila’s rant and discreetly sidestepped away. “Sure.” He deadpanned. “Her bag please, Ávila. We’re leaving.”
Ávila begrudgingly handed over Gabriela’s belongings and watched their friend’s retreating figure. They were worried, but there was nothing else they could do. Ávila’s only hope was that Gabriela would realize that she deserved someone who truly loved her for who she was, flaws and all. They just had to wait a little longer. It wasn’t like the next person that would pass by would be the one Gabriela needed.
And as Ávila turned their back towards the bar to get another drink, someone else was on their way out, desperately searching in the cold, dark night.

1/2
One of my resolutions for the new year was writing for 10 minutes every day. I didn’t do too well in February with this (as you can see I started this entry on 2/2 and just finished this first short bit today), but I am back to writing and I’m trying my hand at some creative writing and fiction! I normally post my writing only on my Tumblr for myself, but I think sharing is also fun once in a while! Anyways, I’ve wanted to start a little Scooby Doo adaptation for a while and this is the first little bit I have so far! Creative writing is foreign to me, but I’m trying to challenge myself through several different types of writing (letter-writing, journaling, descriptive writing, etc.) I love reading and the adventures that stories take me on, so it’s really fun to try my hand at it and create characters. It’s also cool that I get to make the rules and decide what happens. But anyways, please enjoy this short little blurb of a story I’ve started. I’m excited to see where it goes!
Mystery Mania (Part 1)
(Writing entries from 2/2/23, 2/3/23, 3/6/23, 3/7/23)
Steve jolted awake, gasping as he sat up straight as an arrow as he struggled to relax his breathing and get his bearings. He was in his room, the same as every other night. Different rock band and anime posters plastered the walls, and laundry spilled into the floor from an overstuffed hamper. At the foot of the bed, Saint was sprawled upside-down on the carpet, which was decorated with little roads and cars so it almost appeared to be a map. The carpet had been Steve’s since he was little. Saint had destroyed the carpet over the years, and as Saint grew the carpet became his own personal napping and lounging area (besides up in the bed with Steve of course). At the carpet’s edges the fabric was rough and frayed, and the rest of the rug was stained with all sorts of snacks and who-knew-what-else that Steve had given to Saint. Saint chuffed in his sleep, his oversized paws twitching and his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth, probably dreaming that he was chasing down a squirrel or enjoying a t-bone steak. The lava lamp on the bedside table bubbled lazily in neon green and deep blue. Stevie watched as a bubble slowly rose from the bottom of the lamp, and imagined it was him being pulled from his nightmare back into reality. Inhale through your nose, he reminded himself, and exhale through your mouth. As his breathing began to come to a normal and steady rate, Steve felt a chill, and realized he was covered in a clammy sweat. All the hairs on his arms had been raised while he slept. It was always the same nightmare, but for some reason every time he dreamt it, he felt like he was living it for the first time. The dark woods in his dream still towered over him, blocking out any light and swallowing any of Steve’s screams as he cried out for help. The branches and brambles still caught and pulled at him, lacerating and scraping his arms and legs as he fled in terror. He wasn’t sure what was chasing him, but he had felt the monster’s hot breath down his neck every night. He had seen the ghastly claw marks that seemed to have nearly cut the trees in half, and he knew that he couldn’t be caught by whatever prowled the woods looking for him. Hunting him. Every night, every nightmare, the beast got a little closer, closing the distance that Steve desperately fought to keep between them. Tonight, Steve had made it to the edge of a misty lake in the woods. With no other choice, he had plunged into the icy, black water. He’d reasoned that facing the freezing water was better than what was behind him. As he swam, he began to sink no matter how hard he paddled and fought to stay at the lake’s surface. Submerged, he held his breath till he’d felt like his lungs were going to explode. As he at last gave in and gasped for air, that’s when he’d woken up. Saint was now alert, looking up at attention from where he’d been sleeping. He had sensed Steve’s rapid breath, and he padded over to the side of the bed and placed his head under Steve’s hand. The movement and contact helped to reassure Steve that he was here in the present, and that Saint would protect him. Steve gave Saint an affectionate rub on the head, grateful for his best friend. Steve shook his head and rubbed his eyes, clearing the last bits of sleep away. He got up to look out the window. Steve’s room was on the top level of his dilapidated house, which had fallen into disrepair over the years. His dad mostly slept on the couch, usually after passing out when he got home from work or the bar. The attic-turned-bedroom had become Steve’s safe place. His dad wouldn’t typically risk the climb up the ladder-stairs when he got home in whatever condition he was in. Steve’s window looked out over the house and lot. The house sat at the end of a windy backroad, 6 miles south of a major freeway. Green forest surrounded the house, except where the dirt road up to the house cut a slight gap in the tree-line. As Steve surveyed the moon-lit forest, he scanned with his eyes trying not to settle on one object.

Positioning the Researcher
I was born in Korea and immigrated to New Zealand in year 9 to broaden my horizons. I started drawing because I was bored and depressed when I did not have any friends. I was looking for illustrations as a reference to make my illustration prettier, and I saw character illustrations from the game called League of Legends. I got intrigued by the game and ended up falling in love with it after noticing the charming character illustrations. I met friends through games because so many teenagers played, and as a result, my relationships grew and I was able to beat sadness. Then I suddenly thought that I wanted to draw like that. I wanted to design a pretty illustration that made everyone want to play games and also gave hope to those who suffered from depression so that I could give hope to others to overcome it. If my small artwork can be a joy in life for someone, it will be a joy that I can feel as a person before I am an artist and designer. Because of that reason, design became my major. It has not been long since I started to study design, but it is so much fun and exciting every time I design.
I had to learn several programmes to draw illustrations digitally. I found drawing lines on the laptop one at a time to be challenging because I have an analogue sense. Since I have always drawn with a pencil by hand, using my MacBook's trackpad was too difficult for me. However, because I liked the feeling of accomplishment after completing a project, I kept pushing myself without getting discouraged or giving up. Sight is the most crucial sense for humans out of all the other senses. As many as 70 percent of the sensory receptors in the human body are found in the eye (Antranik Kizirian Strength & Flexibility Expert, n.d.). So the sense of sight is the easiest, the strongest response. Designing graphics with so many significant visual components makes me feel cool and incredibly proud. Additionally, I enjoy observing how the design of game illustrations functions in real life. What makes an effective illustration? This is a subject that frequently crosses my thoughts and gets me thinking. The concepts, after much deliberation and research, can enhance my future work. I enjoy making creative artwork and I want to be a game illustrator who uses visual stuff as a way of communication.

Summary: This is your first anniversary with Spencer. And it’s nerve racking.
Pairing: Spencer Reid X GN!Reader
Content/Warning: Just fluff cause I’m a softie. But a few curse words and mention of anxiety.
Word Count: 2,021
Author’s note: I wrote this for @homoose ‘s creator challenge because I love her Spencer fics. I am so happy that you reached 2k, you deserve it and more.
Tumblr media
Spencer was, scrolling through Netflix, while you were getting some snacks. He came across Pan’s Labyrinth, which was the first movie the two of you had ever watched.
Very early on you had realized that Spencer hasn’t watched a lot of pop culture-relevant movies and that’s when you decided that they would have mini movie marathons to get him caught up. Spencer smiled at the memory that was in the first months of your relationship. And then it hit him, like a bag of bricks.
Their first anniversary was coming up. Real soon. Like in two weeks soon. How could Spencer forget? He had an eidetic memory. It’s just that everything was just so fast and nice, that it seems like time passed him by and he didn’t even notice. He didn’t have to stress about anything, everything came naturally between you two.
Yes, there were ups and downs. Spencer is a stubborn man and you can be even more stubborn. He would try to protect you by closing off, you would call him out on it. He had his bad days and you had her bad days too, but would always talk it out and resolve it.
He loved you with all his might and you had made this year incredible. He felt at home when he was with you. He never imagined being able to feel this love for a singular person. And he was excited to show you.
One problem though; this was the first time one of his relationships has lasted more than a few months. He didn’t know how to start. He didn’t know the proper etiquette for anniversaries. Hell, he had never read any literature about how to celebrate an anniversary. Fuck, what was he going to do?
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, while waiting for the popcorn to be done to get back to cuddling with your boyfriend, You had an inkling that you were missing something. It was like an itch you couldn’t scratch. You grabbed your phone to see if there was anything that would help you remember. But nothing. You still felt something wasn’t right. That’s when you saw it.
You knew you weren’t going to remember, you didn’t have Spencer’s memory. You wrote it on your calendar that was on the fridge. It was right there, with a red heart around the day and everything. Fuck.
Your anniversary was coming up. And you had no idea what to do. But that wasn’t the most stressful thing about the entire thing. It was that it was a reminder that you were Spencer’s longest relationship and this was the first time he has ever lasted a year with someone.
Spencer told you in the beginning about his woes and struggles with dating and being in a relationship. You found it adorable how nervous he was trying to figure out how to manage these relationship things. You even heard him talking to Derek and Luke one night to get advice.
Thankfully, he was much more comfortable now and realized that he just had to be himself. But those first months were filled with you reassuring Spencer that he didn’t have to change or anything. That you loved him just the way he was.
That’s why you wanted to make this day special for Spencer. To celebrate that you have overcome multiple obstacles and are still together, one year later. To show him that he was the best boyfriend you could ever wish for. But, how can you do that? How can you make this the perfect day for the certified genius that was sitting in the living room?
Out of all his friends, he knew only one of them could help him. Someone with the creativity, the passion for love, and the knowledge of you and that was Miss Penelope Garcia. Before he could even finish his sentence, she already knew what to do.
She grabbed a piece of paper off her desk and started to scribble some words down.
“Okay, boy wonder, you will meet me here after your last class. I will not accept any excuses. ” She gave Spencer a piece of paper. He smiled at his friend.
“Oh, I’m not done yet, mighty professor. How do you feel about shopping?” Spencer’s eyes widened. Shopping with Garcia wasn’t an easy thing, or so he heard from JJ.
“Hey, Reid! What are you doing here?” Luke said, poking his head from the door.
“I- uhm. My classes are later in the day and I wanted to ask Garcia something.” Spencer told his friend, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. Luke smiled at the brunet and turned his attention to Garcia.
“It’s Spencer and Y/N anniversary in a couple of weeks and we are gonna help our beautiful genius.”  She said with the biggest smile. Luke laughed at Spencer’s confusion.
“Oh, this gonna be so much fun.” Garcia clapped.
You, on the other hand, were on a phone call with Emily ranting about it. You had no idea how to start. You knew what you were going to get him, sorta. Okay, you thought about one thing. But it wasn’t enough. It didn’t feel like enough.
“Y/N, calm down.” Emily laughed.
“Emily! Please, I need your help.” You groaned while Emily let another laugh.
“How about a picnic?” She suggested.
“I don’t know. He probably won’t like the grass being close to the food. And then there’s all the people at the park. I don’t think Spencer would enjoy all the germs there must be. ” You rubbed your eyes, stressing out.
“Well, picnics don’t have to be in parks.” And that, folks, is why in Emily Prentiss we trust. You both started scheming to make this the best anniversary ever.
It wasn’t a competition but not even an unbiased jury of profilers and behavior specialists can decipher which one of you two was more nervous.
On one hand, we had Spencer checking his gift that he put in the backseat so you wouldn’t be able to peak. His head wasn’t even in the conversation you were trying to form, keyword trying. He just felt his hands getting clammy. His heart was in his throat, not literally but he felt it. He had never done something like this.
Then, on the other hand, we had you. Gripping the steering wheel as if someone was going to rip it from you. You were trying to calm yourself down by talking with Spencer but he kept looking over his shoulder, staring at the gift he got you. He said he wasn’t gonna show it to you till you reached your destination. The minute you saw a big purple gift bag, you felt your heart stop. But also your brain starts to run. What if he didn’t like your gifts?
You parked in front of the location and turned off the car. Spencer gave you a soft smile and grabbed your hand. He kissed it and rubbed the place where he planted the kiss.
“What was that for?” You giggled.
“No reason. Just because I love you.” He gave you a wink. You grabbed his face and pulled him in for a soft kiss.
“C’mon, sweetie. Let’s go.” You opened your car door and headed out. You entered the place, trying to set out everything.
“You can do this, Reid.” Spencer took a deep breath, grabbed the gift, and headed to where you were.
Spencer knocked on the door and quickly you opened it. You gave him a smile and let him in. Spencer gasped.
“Ta-da!” It was an art gallery, filled with brand new paintings and unknown artists. But in the middle of the room, there was a blanket, a light candle, and a picnic basket.
“What? I- How did you do this?" Spencer couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was just too overwhelming.
"Well, Emily Prentiss has friends in high places. And one of them just so happened to own this gallery." You explained, grabbing his hands leading him to the blanket. "So what do you think?"
"I love it so much! It's- Woah." Spencer was speechless. His eyes were sparkling with love. He couldn't believe it.
"Did I just render doctor Spencer Reid speechless?" You joked, Spencer rolled his eyes.
"You know it's not that difficult for you." You smiled at his words. Spencer remembered his gift and started to scratch his neck nervously. How could he top this? What he didn’t realize is that you are still nervous.
"Do you- uhm- want to have your gift right now?" He grabbed the purple gift bag, clenching it close to his heart.
“Well if you want to.” You said, trying to ease his discomfort.
“I mean you already gave me my present and it was spectacular. It’s only fair and just that I give you yours. Obviously, if you want to wait it’s fine by me. Or if you don’t want it till we get home, I understand. I-” Spencer rambled, before being cut off by you.
“Spence, hey, calm down. First of all, this isn’t your only gift.” You stated. Spencer looked at you strangely.
“Woah, it’s not that I don’t appreciate the thought, but this is enough. I mean look at this. This is incredible. I can’t believe you did this. I love everything about it. It’s the best way to have a picnic. ” He exclaimed. You chuckled at your boyfriend’s excitement.
“It’s just a small thing. Don’t worry about it. Now.” You made grabby hands at him, and he laughed while giving you the gift. You opened the bag to see a familiar color purple ball of yarn, a box, and a little book.
“I know you like my purple scarf and since I take it to cases sometimes, so I made you one.” You pulled the scarf out of the bag.
“How?” You gasped.
“Garcia took me to this recreational center she volunteers at and they had a knitting class. I don’t know, it just made sense.” Spence explained.
“It’s even warmer than yours.” You said putting it around your neck. Spencer’s heart clenched. “Wait, there’s more. Right.” You pulled the box out of the bag and opened it. It was a simple gold necklace with an S on it. You gasped at the gift.
“Spencer, I-” “That’s not all. Look at the book.” It was a simple leather small letter notebook. You gave Spencer a look, to which he responded by giving you a reassuring smile.
You opened it to see Spencer’s writing on the first page.
Whenever you are feeling sad, lonely, or need a pick me up, read a page from this book.
With love, Spencer
“They are a collection of love letters. Or messages meant to be in love letters, to you.” He said softly.
“Oh, Spencer!.” You pulled into a hug. He gripped you tightly. You pulled away and started peppering kisses all over his face.
“I love you so much.” You said, grabbing his face. He smiled. Something Spencer loved was when you hold his face in your hands. It made him feel safe and loved.
“And I love you.” He leaned in and kissed you. You pulled away first and gave him a smile.
“‘Now time for your present.” You opened the basket to pull out a box. Spencer grabbed the box out of your hands and started to take off the gift wrap. Spencer gasped, his eyes almost bulging out of his skull.
“You didn’t.” He said his eyes never leaving the book in his hands. You chuckled. Spencer had recently been going through all of his mom’s scrapbooks. And you would sit in his lap while he explained every picture and every article. It was like a therapeutic thing. So you decided you wanted to make one for you guys.
“Oh but I did.” You winked at him. He went through the pictures with tears in his eyes. A year’s worth of memories, right there. He noticed there were a couple of blank pages.
“For the years to come.” You said softly.
“For the years to come.” Spencer repeated.

8 and a half years ago, if you’d told me the story world I’d been scribbling about in my little notebook would grow up to be one of the best and most beautiful elements of my young-to-not-so-young adult life, I don’t know if I’d have believed you.
Colony 22 started from almost nothing—it was born from a heartbeat of passion, a handful of excitement and a modest collection of relatively new friends from a place called Belvedere, and it grew to become a hugely significant and constant rock in my life. Colony 22 became a place of friends, found-family and inspiration. It was my little brain-baby oasis where I met truly amazing, kind and talented people and writers, who inspired me, challenged me, and who fell in love with a world I’d dreamt up, and then dove right in with me to foster it, adopt it, and make it their own.
And that's been the most rewarding part of this whole journey. Seeing all of you come together in joy and collaboration, knowing that you had met in the vivid dreamscape world of my imagination and had built upon it like a coral reef, a beautiful display of colour and spirit and individual imprints of your own design that I never could have formed all on my own. Colony 22 connected me to the world. It gave me a sense of community and kinship I’d never had before, and fused bonds for me and around me, that changed my life forever.
Colony 22 is where I grew up.
I don’t know if I can quite describe to you what this place has meant to me over the past decade, and how deeply the friendships I have made here have changed me as a person. I started this place when I was still in my early twenties, before I had been accepted to film school, before I moved away from home, before I came out, before I transitioned. This community brought me comfort and connection when I was at my worst and my loneliest. It brought me joy and excitement and laughter—and people to share all that with—when at my best.
In running this place, I have learned so much about myself, as well as about friendship and life in general. The hardships and the blessings, both. This community, and every single person in it, kept me afloat in some of the toughest years of my life, and in some of the most rewarding, and of the brief list of things I’d consider my most significant and worthwhile accomplishments in my life so far, this has been by far one of the most fulfilling.
I could talk forever, but would never even come close to covering everything.
As proud as I am of this community, I am also so, so humbled by it, and by each and every one of you. To members new and old, to recent members and to those whose chapters with us ended many moons ago, I wish I could express in words how much you all mean to me, and the utterly irreplaceable place you have in my heart. I don’t know how to stress it enough or in the right way for it to stick, but you have not only touched my life, you have also changed me as a person and you have all had a hand in who I am today. You have been the magical Neverland to my Peter Pan, when I was just a lost boy looking for love and connection, for story and creativity and people to share it with.
And so my heart is breaking. As much as I always knew and understood that this day would come eventually, I could hardly wrap my head around how it would feel when it did, because I didn’t allow myself to think about it for too long. We have done so many good and powerful things. We have done just as many silly and frivolous ones, and I am grateful for both, and for everything in between. We had so much fun, didn’t we guys? Together we saw the beginning and (almost) end of a global pandemic lockdown, we kept each other company and laughed when laughing felt otherwise impossible. We had games nights and Games Events and over the years we have told so many stories. So many stories that I’m a little overwhelmed just thinking about it.
Characters and members have come and gone over the years, and so much of Colony 22 has changed since it was first born in late 2013, and I have absolutely no regrets. I’m amazed and humbled by how diligently the community kept merrily chugging along, even as we said goodbye to older members and welcomed in new ones (and many a time, returning ones!). 8 years is a long journey, and it’s been such a beautiful and remarkable one. At the end of the day, no matter when it happens, it’s never going to be easy to move on from something so special, and it’s with this in mind that Maddie and I have decided to finally close Colony 22′s doors, in spite of all the positive feedback we got from the survey we posted (thank you so much for all your kinds words by the way. They mean more than you know).
But with a number of members feeling burnt out and like it’s just their time to move on, Maddie and I have agreed that we’d feel better about putting Colony 22 to bed on the heels of a good and healthy place, rather than pushing it past it’s time and watching it struggle in an unhealthy or unhappy way. So far, we have survived several big changes and turn overs, and have always come out the other side unexpectedly stronger. But we think that this time, The Colony has simply reached the last leg of her memorable journey, and it’s time to close this amazing chapter of our lives, our hearts heavy, but full.
I don’t want to say that we have any current plans for a revival at any point down the line, but by the same token, never say never. I know for a fact I will be preserving this blog and all its affiliates with care and adoration for a very long time, and should you want to reach me, you all know where to find me. Alongside my discord and my Colony/character accounts, I may also eventually return to using my personal tumblr [x] once my heart has had some time to heal.
I will not be removing anyone from the OOC blog, so please feel free to use it to share any wishes, notes, contacts or anything you would like, and I am also quite seriously thinking about starting up a discord server open to all Colony 22 members new and old, as a place to keep the community, friendships (and games nights) alive!
As for your characters: Any of you who are still around are welcome to keep writing with them amongst yourselves if you like and for as long as you’d like. The dash will be open to you for anyone who wants to keep using it. All I ask is that no one takes or reuses any characters or bios at any other RP or anywhere else public, unless they were OCs you wrote yourself, and I also ask that you not take or replicate this verse or any of the story details anywhere else, as I retain copyright of all original content. Private writing for your own personal enjoyment is fine so long as it’s not publicly accessible. If you have any questions, please do not be afraid to reach out! <3
Again, I’m going to try (and fail) to articulate my utter gratitude and love for all of you, for all that you have done for me, for this community, and most importantly, for each other. I feel unspeakably blessed to have been a part of something like this, that has connected so many people across so many borders and ignited so many life-long friendships. To those of you who were around for the 6th year anniversary letters: I still mean every word of them and more, and I hope you can end this journey with that in mind. And to all of you, current and old members (and mods!) alike, I thank you from the bottom of my big, fluffy, tearful gay heart. Thank you for being my family, my inspiration, my friends. Thank you for being here, for your joy and enthusiasm and commitment, and thank you for being there for me, night and day. You have touched me in a way beyond summary, or simplification. Just...thank you.
Sincerely and with immense love and gratitude,
Rory Nathaniel Cameron Troye de Grasse

haikyuu boys slowly falling for you (fake dating edition) (gn!reader)
feat: atsumu, kenma, oikawa
warnings: fake dating, abuse of cliche tropes and commas and question marks, timeskip setting because im anything but creative, swearing
requests are open!
a/n: thank you for requesting this!! i hope you like it :D
atsumu
* you’ve been friends with him ever since high school and you watched his career grow
* youre both equally proud of each other n your friendship is built on mutual respect, trust and love
* you basically live in his apartment, with how much time you spend over there
* he would complain 24/7 about not having anyone to go to events with
* at one point you wanted to strangle him for never shutting up about it so you propose you go with him from time to time
* atsumu: “yeah, that was a setup”
* he KNOWS you’re drop dead gorgeous and everyone will be jealous of him that you’re with him (and you also look very good in formalwear, which he very much enjoys)
* and you get to have free food and drinks and also wear immaculate expensive clothes
* so,, you became his regular date for sponsorship events and stuff
* and you never really outright said you were just friends?? so you’re used to the media portraying you two as lovers but your close circle is aware that your relationship is platonic
* everything was going great until one of his sponsor company’s heir started hitting on you
* atsumu saw you flirting with the person and his mind went blank
* he,, he didn’t understand why he wanted to commit multiple crimes on the spot
* bokuto conveniently showed up next to atsumu at that moment
“hey, atsumu? why is your date flirting with them?” bokuto asked, suddenly appearing next to atsumu, which startled the latter out of his thoughts.
a better question would be why atsumu saw red at the thought of you getting friendly with anyone but him that night. he tried his best to keep his composure, but it was hard when you rested a hand on the heir’s shoulder, leaning your head back while laughing.
“atsumu, are you not going to answer me? your lover is-“
“my what?” atsumu asked, attention now completely off you.
“your lover? is that a term you don’t like? i could say partner... significant other... or anything you want, really,” bokuto answered, apologizing.
“you- you think me and (y/n) are together?”
“aren’t you? what, with the way you look at each other i was convinced you two were like... high school sweethearts or something, who hate pda,” bokuto explained, while atsumu’s eyes trailed back to you.
“you think... you think they’d wan’ me?”
“are you blind, buddy?”
you must have sensed their gazes, because as soon as those words left bokuto’s mouth, your eyes snapped towards atsumu and bokuto. the latter started waving with a cheerful smile while the former just stood, entranced by you and your presence. atsumu noticed traces of confusion appearing on your face, and watched as you excused yourself from the conversation you were previously interested in.
“‘tsumu, are you alright?” you questioned, approaching the pair. bokuto grinned and left, which made you even more confused.
“yeah, i’m fi- fine. hey, uh, (y/n), say... do you- why did you offer to come to these events as my date?” atsumu asked, eyes dead set on yours. you cracked a confused smile. you seemed to be capable of nothing but confusion at the moment.
“because you’re my best friend and i hated to see you so down because of your loneliness at these gatherings,” you replied, holding his gaze. “why didn’t you oppose it?”
his eyes studied you and when he saw nothing but sincerity, he let out a loud sigh. this was all very new and confusing to him. it’s like bokuto calling you atsumu’s lover set off a bomb inside his head that instead of causing a mess, made everything fall into place; why his gaze seemed to linger on you more often than before, why he was so eager to choose your outfits for these events, why he went to parties he didn’t even have to attend, why he got so jealous and angry when he saw you with the cute heir.
“holy shit,” he breathed and ran his hands through his hair, letting out a nervous chuckle and lowering his gaze to the ground. “holy shit.”
“you look like you’ve been enlightened, and i love that for you, but ‘tsumu, i’m still very confused.”
“i’m in love with you,” he said in disbelief, and quickly snapped his eyes back to your face when he realized he said it out loud. “i- i mean- i’m not in love with you, no way in hell, you’re- you’re my best friend, you- you smack my head whenever i say somethin’ inappropriate, you keep me from underminin’ myself, you always lift my spirits and for fuck’s sake, please, stop lookin’ at me like that because i will be getting hopeful and if you’re just joking, i will never hear the end of it and-“
you finally hd enough of his rambling and cut him off with a kiss. at first he froze, but seconds later he melted into your embrace, hands sneaking around your waist, pulling you closer.
when your lips separated, atsumu gasping for air after his word vomit and the long kiss you shared, you spoke up. “miya atsumu, you’re a real dumbass, you know that?”
his breath hitched and you kept quiet for a second to let him suffer a bit.
“but you’re my dumbass. i love you, you absolute piece of work.”
atsumu honest to god giggled and leaned in for another kiss, which you gave him without hesitation.
somewhere in the room, bokuto was collecting the money sakusa promised to give him if he got you two to kiss.
kenma
* kenma and you are both twitch streamers with similar content so you knew of each other but weren’t properly introduced
* until one of your mutual friends invited you both to stream among us with them
* you obv accepted
* so during the 3 hr stream, you and kenma were imposters together a lot and had the biggest, most twisted imp plays
* a friendly competition broke out at one point, too, trying to see who exposed the most impostors between the two of you
* your fans ate your dynamic up
* from then on, you two interacted more and started to appear in each others’ streams
* kenma even invited you to his minecraft smp
* you became besties basically
* SO
* all fun and games
* and then a huge sponsorship opportunity rolled in
* and the people at the company assumed you were dating
* uh oh
* you couldnt just tell them they have it wrong bc the whole thing depended on your relationship
* so
* big brain kenma suggest you two start to “date”
* you were against deceiving your followers but kenma assured you you could have a public breakup and tell everyone you were better off as friends
* so you reluctantly agreed
* it was only for two months anyways, what could go wrong?
* both of you, on week 3, in separate discord calls: uh oh, im in l*ve
* you both tried to cope (read: repress everything) but the realization on both of your parts threw your dynamic off a bit and fans have noticed
* so you had to do something abt it
* so kenma suggested you try your hand at a minecraft challenge together
* it was all fun and games until it wasnt
* you somehow ended up flirting back and forth ????
* chat was goin crazy, even in sub only mode
* both of you: ha ha im in danger
* when the stream ended, you stayed on call, because that was a routine you stuck to no matter what
“so... how are you doing?” you asked kenma, trying to clear the awkwardness from the air.
“good.”
maybe you should have taken kenma’s refusal to talk about anything into account when initiating conversation.
kenma, on the other end of the call was anxiously playing with his fingers, trying to figure out if his chat was right, and you were indeed flirting with him. and him with you. god.
“hey, y/n,” kenma said after a while, “were you flirting with me?”
his bluntness startled you and you had to mute yourself for a few seconds while you collected yourself.
“is there a correct answer?” you asked hesitantly.
“yes.”
“oh... uhm, maybe? it wasn’t intentional. or maybe it was, subconsciously, i don’t know,” you admitted quietly.
“good. it was intentional on my part, i think,” and okay, that was not the reply you expected to hear.
“really?”
“yeah, i- i like you i guess,” he said, sounding more confident by the minute. “do you like me too?”
“i- yeah. i do. i like you, kenma,” you replied, sighing a breath of relief. it felt good to admit it aloud to him.
“do you- would you maybe want to come over?” he asked sheepishly, which made absolutely no sense because he sounded so confident a second ago. “we could play mario kart?”
you let the beaming smile you were holding back take over your face. “i’ll be there in 10, kenma.”
“i’ll be waiting for you.”
oikawa
* on god mans hated your guts
* like,, okay, you were iwa’s close friend but you were so annoyingly honest all the time
* it drove him mad
* what also drove him mad is the fact that you loved to tease him
* no matter what the circumstance, whether he was in japan or in argentina, you always found a way to make him blush
* okay so maybe hate is a strong word, because he kind of thought you were pretty, but in a platonic way
* dumbass
* iwa always give both of you shit for not liking each other
* so you came up with a big brain idea
* you: ”oikawa! we should date!”
* oikawa: “what”
* after you explained the concept of fake dating to him and its benefits (which included a staged dramatic breakup, giving you both a reason to hate each other without iwa complaining)
* he was totally down
* iwa, when he first saw you holding hands: “i knew it”
* SO!! thus began weeks of pretending to be in love with each other for the sake of iwa
* which turned from pretending to not pretending real quick for your liking
* falling in love with oikawa was not a plan of yours
* (falling in love with you wasn’t his, either)
* with iwa’s constant nagging of “i knew it, you both were head over heels for each other from the moment you met”, the time for the breakup came quicker than expected (maybe you both had enough. so what.)
* you agreed to do it in front of iwa so he could see it happen
* you chose a mcdonalds parking lot, because then you could storm off and iwa would follow you to make sure you were ok and oikawa could go home and sleep
* maybe winging it was not the best idea
“babe,” you said with venom, “haven’t i told you a thousand times that i do not want to hear about your exes? seriously, it’s like the only thing you talk about,” you complained, as your fake-boyfriend took a sip from his drink.
“well, babe,” his tone matching yours, “i would shut up about them if took the hint sometimes. maybe i don’t like going to the movies as much as you seem to, it’s boring,” he rolled his eyes, subtly glancing at iwa, who looked very uncomfortable third wheeling your argument. good
“jerk. i don’t even want to go to the movies that much, asshole,” you spat, crushing your empty cup in your hand.
“oh, you want to go to the movies plenty. face it, (y/n), you’re boring. no wonder you didn’t have a boyfriend before me,” he replied and his words, even though you knew were fake, still hit hard and you couldn’t help the tears gathering in your eyes.
“okay, then, thanks for these wonderful past few weeks, so glad you decided to take pity on me.” you tried to keep acting, encouraging yourself with the fact that if oikwa meant what he said, you wouldn’t have to talk to him if iwaizumi finally saw you two break up.
you expected a lot of things, but genuineness in oikawa’s eyes was not one of them.
“(y/n), i’m sorry, i didn’t mean it like that,” oikawa pleaded, clearly forgetting about your mutual goal.
with a mumbled whatever, you started walking home, letting the sunset wash over your face. when you knew you were out of sight, you sat down on a bench and just started crying.
you don’t know how much time passed, but you heard a voice behind you speak up.
“hey (y/n).”
“what the fuck do you want, oikawa? to rub in the fact that my first boyfriend was just faking it so his best friend would get off his back? leave me alone, jerk,” you said, trying to wipe your tears away.
“i- i didn’t mean it like that, please, believe me,” he replied, taking a seat next to you. you scooted away from him. he sighed.
“why would i believe you? why do you want to make up, anyways? this fight was pretty real, no way iwaizumi didn’t believe it,” you sniffed.
“because maybe... maybe i was very happy about the fact that i could be your boyfriend, even if it was fake. maybe i’m in love with you,” he said softly, leaning towards you.
“please, stop playing games. it’s over,” you replied, trying very hard to ignore the raw emotion in his voice as he spoke.
“i really am, (y/n). i wasn’t at first, i admit it, but now i am. i love you, please, believe me,” he begged and you finally made eye contact with him. eyes were mirrors of the soul, after all.
you studied his face for a few minutes, looking for anything that could indicate he was trying to pull a shit prank on you, but you found nothing.
“asshole. maybe i’m in love with you too, what would you do if i said that?” you asked, wiping your nose with your sleeves.
“kiss you.”
“do it, then, i guess. but you’re still not completely forgiven.”
“what do i have to do to earn your forgiveness, (y/n)?” he asked and you sent him a mischievous smile.
“take the blame for this whole fiasco with iwaizumi.” he froze at your words and visibly gulped, but nodded nonetheless.
“okay, i will. can i kiss you now?”
you rolled your eyes. “yeah.”
and he did.

Poisson d'avril
Here, have a half-baked April Fool’s Day fic my brain decided to wake me up for. For context, one of the most popular jokes for April 1st in France is taping paper fish to each other’s backs, the more original the fish the better (my childhood is filled with trying to sneak behind teachers' backs to tape one on them; they were very chill about it, tbh). Poisson d’Avril is also what you say at the end of a joke on that day (think "sike", but festive). More about this great tradition that apparently dates back to at least 1466 here.
Hope you enjoy!

---
Marinette loved April Fool’s Day at Françoise Dupont. The school was always buzzing with little pranks at that time of the year, the blooming spring giving a wonderfully cheerful backdrop to the shenanigans the collégiens were up to.
These were all very light-hearted, if sometimes a little elaborate.
As usual, some students had been found early in the morning in the classrooms, thwarting their attempt to recreate the legendary horizontal fiasco of 20XX, where everything had been set up to look like the rooms had been flipped by 90°. Mr Damoclès had let them go mercifully, thankful that the students hadn’t been tempted to glue everything to the ceiling in an effort to one-up their predecessors. Somehow, he wouldn’t have put it past Kim and Alix to try and coordinate the project, as a last hurrah before heading on to lycée.
There were also seemingly well-meaning classmates offering chouquettes or donuts in the courtyard, which Marinette knew to stay well away from, knowing the former were likely sprinkled with coarse salt, and the latter filled with the likes of mayonnaise instead of jam. She’d been in their shoes a couple of years prior, building her classmates’ trust by bringing them the sweet delicacies every day for a week, and switching on April 1st as a joke.
Heading to class, she heard a lot of laughter, people telling jokes, or trying to see how far they could take a story without it being called out on it (this year, Nino had Kim panicking over a brevet exam part they supposedly had, which was a step down from the previous year, where he’d convinced him that everybody needed to come in dressed up in medieval costumes, and that he’d landed the court jester role; his friend had turned up the next day in a full outfit, complete with bells on his hat and shoes, and upon discovering the deception, had decided to make good use of them and make the joke everybody’s problem).
However much she enjoyed those kinds of pranks, though, Marinette’s favourite remained the classic poisson d’avril: taping paper fish to people’s backs. It was something anyone could take part in, as a predator or a prey, with or without premeditation. You didn’t necessarily need scissors and tape, if you managed to steal some from somebody else’s back.
Marinette liked to take it seriously. Done right, the exercise demanded stealth she’d had even as a little kid, and had honed ever since being chosen to become Ladybug, as well as creativity she had piles of. She’d stayed up the previous night, making plenty of fish varying in size and colour, some tailored to her friends, like the Rena Rouge and Carapace ones that were intended for Alya and Nino respectively. She’d of course also made the rest of the Miraculous team, as well as some other designs based on Kitty section, her classmates, or celebrities.
As always at the end of the day, Rose walked around with a whole school on her back. It wasn’t clear if she was completely oblivious to it, or if she knew what was going on but enjoyed the giddy giggles of the people who managed to add an extra fish in, or take one off.
The only person who’d managed to escape the prank so far was Adrien, and it wasn’t for lack of trying. Kim, Alix and Nino had gone to great lengths to get at least one fish on his back, even recruiting Markov to sneak behind him, but the boy seemed to have a sixth sense.
No sooner did he hear the faintest of ruffles, that his head would jerk up, eyes darting around to figure out where the sound had come from, thwarting any efforts, no matter how elaborate they’d been.
Marinette had been reluctant to target Adrien, despite having a special fish for him, complete with his stripes and an orange-tipped tail, but as the day went by and more people joined the challenge to trick him, she felt the urge to compete rise in her chest and started unwillingly tracking his every movement, trying to find a breach in his focus.
It was a fastidious process, even for someone who enjoyed watching Adrien happily live his life, but it paid off around the end of the day, just after the last bell.
Marinette noticed that Adrien’s shirt looked a little rumpled around the back as they were retrieving books from their lockers, and approached him calmly.
“Adrien?” She announced her presence when she was right behind him, surprised that he hadn’t turned around yet. He almost jumped out of his skin at the sound of her voice.
“Marinette!” He yelped, a hand flying to his heart. “Sorry, I didn’t hear you approach.” He chuckled nervously.
“No, I’m sorry I scared you!” Marinette looked down, apparently sheepish. In truth, she was cursing inwardly at the missed easy opportunity. Adrien had been at ease with her coming closer, which she assumed was because it was the end of the day and he’d started letting his guard down; she could have gone about her business and he would’ve been none the wiser. She shook her head; it didn’t matter, she’d just go on with her original plan. “It’s just that… well, it’s stupid, but the back of your shirt is a little creased, and I know how important your appearance is to your family so… Do you mind if I fix it?”
“Thanks Marinette, that’d be awesome.” He smiled at her in a way that would have made her lose her cool, had it been any other day. But she was on a mission, and there was no way she was letting the opportunity of pranking Adrien when nobody else had managed the feat go by.
“Okay, let me just…” Marinette reached into her purse and took the first piece of paper she felt, before gently taping it to Adrien’s shirt, making sure to smooth the fabric at the same time so he wouldn’t realise what she was doing.
“There, all done!” She smiled when she was satisfied the tape had adhered well enough.
He smiled back at her, but was interrupted in his thanks by Nino and Alya calling for them to hurry up.
“Today was really fun, I’m so glad I got to experience it first hand,” Adrien beamed as the group walked out of the building, Nino and Adrien a little ahead of the girls. “And I’m really proud that I survived it without getting pranked!”
Marinette bit back a laugh, eyes darting to his back.
“I wouldn’t be so confident, Sunshine,” Alya replied, untaping the fish from his back and handing it to him.
“What…” Adrien stopped in his tracks, looking at it, and particularly Marinette’s signature on the back of the piece of paper, in disbelief. He turned around with a look of mock betrayal. “I can’t believe you’d do this to me!” He pouted.
“I couldn’t just let you off the hook,” she shrugged with a small smile, making a mental note to reuse the phrase with Chat Noir when she saw him later. He’d enjoy the pun.
Adrien let out a small chuckle as he turned the fish around, but the sound died as he saw the pattern. The colour drained from his face and he froze as he took in the black and green colour scheme and the fish’s whiskers.
“Adrien? Is everything okay?” Marinette frowned, noticing his change in body language.
“Yeah, um… Can I talk to you for a second?” He looked up at her.
“What a great idea!” Alya pushed Marinette towards Adrien before hooking her arm through Nino’s and starting to go down the stairs. “We’ll see you guys tomorrow!”
Marinette thought she heard her add “Can you believe they might get together over an April Fool’s joke?”, as she waved them off absentmindedly, but her gaze met Adrien’s troubled one and she decided she’d deal with her best friend later.
“What’s up?” She asked, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks; the adrenaline from succeeding her challenge was evidently starting to wear off.
“What’s this?” Adrien asked cautiously, handing her the fish.
Marinette took it cautiously, saw the pattern, and smiled. “It’s a poisson-chat noir,” she said proudly. It was a bit of a shame she’d picked that one for Adrien, but she guessed she couldn’t have kept it for her partner anyway, given that she’d signed it. Still, she thought he would have liked the joke. Especially if it came from Ladybug.
“How did you know?” he murmured, looking at her incredulously. She tilted her head, raising her eyebrows at his cryptidness. He explicited his thoughts. “I saw the fish you gave Alya and Nino, and the one you managed to pin on Chloé; they were all references to their superhero selves. And now you get this one right as well… How did you know?”
It was Marinette’s turn to freeze and feel the colour draining from her cheeks. “I… I didn’t. I picked one randomly when I saw an opening.”
“Oh.” She saw the cogs turning in Adrien’s brain while she felt her own shut down, still processing one important piece of information.
“Adrien… Are you Chat Noir?”
“Um… Poisson d’avril?” He ventured.
“Adrien.” She repeated sternly.
“Okay, fine, you got me.” Adrien huffed, raking a hand through his hair. “Please, don’t tell Ladybug.” He pleaded.
“Too late, I’m afraid.” She dug out her poisson-Ladybug and taped it to herself. She saw Adrien’s eyes grow as wide as his smile before being engulfed in a hug and feeling his lips on her forehead. “Kwami, we really might get together over an April Fool’s joke,” she muttered against his chest. If the heat she felt at the tip of her ears said anything, she probably was as red as Ladybug’s costume, and it probably wouldn’t go unnoticed.
“What was that?” Adrien pulled out a little from their hug to look at her.
“Nothing.” She smiled, and took his hand. “Now come on Chaton, we have some things to discuss, and we should probably go somewhere more private.”
“You know I’d follow you anywhere, my Lady.” He picked their entwined hands and kissed hers.
Really, she thought as they made their way towards her parents’ boulangerie, she loved poissons d’avril.

Accessories and Crushes
This is Day 1 of the TSUS Challenge: Dukexiety!
Summary: Remus buys some jewelry to make himself look good and impress his crush, Virgil. But why does he look so upset by that?
Pairings: Dukexiety, background Roceit
Word Count: 3769
Warnings: Bullying, stealing, miscommunication, implied violence, blood
"C'mon boys! You need to leave now or you'll be late!"
"Coming Mom!" Both boys called out, Roman from the bathroom and Remus from his bedroom. The green-clad twin had finished putting on his makeup and was now frowning at his reflection. Something was missing. There was some part of his style that was incomplete. It had been missing for a while now, and because of it Remus looked incomplete. Bland. Boring. And he couldn't tell what was missing. He'd tried switching out his makeup palette (Roman had so many leftover, since he liked to do his own makeup in theater. He wouldn't miss this one), he tried different outfit styles, he even tried things that he never imagined wearing like skirts and high heels, but nothing felt right. Maybe I need new accessories?
There was a knock on his door and Roman poked his head in, a lopsided grin on his face. "C'mon, we gotta go before mom kills us."
Remus scoffed, grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. "Psh, I've been ready. I was waiting for you, prettyboy. How many hours did you spend in the bathroom this time?"
Roman made a sound that their mutual friend (and Roman's crush) Janus dubbed an 'offended Princey noise' as they walked out of their house. "First of all, low blow. You can't just use that nickname-"
Remus snorted. "Of course I can. Just not in front of Janny.” Janus had made up the nickname years ago, and Remus constantly teased Roman with it. (Honestly, Remus was halfway tempted to lock the two of them in a closet and leave them there until they either made out or beat each other up)
Roman continued as they approached the school. “Secondly, I’ll have you know that every moment I spend in that bathroom is absolutely vital to my daily routine.”
Remus smirked. “Yeah? Even the 20 minutes you spend just belting out romantic Disney songs to your reflection?”
Roman blushed but didn’t back down. “Yes.”
“Hmm, a blushing Roman. The perfect way to start my morning.” Janus suddenly slinked up behind them, throwing his arm up over Roman’s shoulder.
Roman groaned, blushing harder. “I can never tell when you’re being sarcastic and when you’re being genuine.”
Janus chuckled softly. “If you knew, it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to do.”
The bell rang and Remus groaned. “Gotta go. Catch ya later.” He quickly made his way to his first class, silently glad to be rid of the two hopeless lovebirds. He got to his class with 5 minutes to spare and was going to play on his phone and ignore everyone like he usually did when he saw a flash of green out of the corner of his eye.
On one of the student’s desk was an ornate wooden box, filled to the brim with hand-crafted jewelry. The student in question, Jacob Smith, was currently counting a large stack of cash as he waited for the bell to ring. Remus got up to look at the jewelry and he smirked. “Hey, Prince. I’m selling my sister’s hand-made jewelry. Like anything you see?”
Remus glanced down at the jewelry. There were dozens of accessories in a ton of different colors, but there were a few that caught Remus’ eye. There was a matching set of 2 bracelets, a ring, a chain necklace, a choker, and a pair of earrings. They were all a metallic dark green with black and dark purple accents. Remus looked at the prices Jacob had given the jewelry and winced. They were all super expensive, but they were also high quality and hand-crafted, so Remus wasn’t going to complain.
Jacob smirked as Remus paid for the jewelry, about to say something when the bell ringed. Remus sighed and put the jewelry away, grabbing his notebook to take notes. Even though Remus was the school’s resident ‘bad boy,’ he still liked to keep his grades up. Remus hated that he was always stereotyped as lazy and dumb. Yes, he regularly punched homophobes and transphobes. Yes, he tended to struggle in English because metaphors were bullshit. But that wasn’t his fault! There were only a handful of people that Remus wouldn’t immediately punch their teeth in for calling him dumb, and only three of them went to this school. Of course, there was Roman and Janus, but there was another person who was allowed to insult Remus, even if he never did.
Eventually, lunchtime rolled around, and Remus ignored his usual routine of vandalizing homophobic lockers to instead go put on his jewelry in the bathroom. He spent the whole 15 minutes making sure that the jewelry looked perfect and his make up was flawless. He had someone to impress, after all.
A few more hours passed and Remus was finally in his last class of the day, impatiently waiting to see his crush walk through the door. Virgil Storm, resident emo and snarky introvert. He and Remus were forced to work on an English paper together last year, and now he liked to sit next to Remus during class. Remus knew this was only so they could work together on creative writing assignments, but a part of Remus dreamed that Virgil sat next to Remus because liked Remus, not just tolerated him.
When Virgil finally walked through the door, seconds before the bell was supposed to ring, Remus barely resisted the urge to grin and wave frantically like an overexcited puppy. Instead, he gave his meat flirtatious smirk, angling his body to show off as much of his new jewelry as possible. Instead of smiling (or blushing like Remus fantasized), Virgil froze in place. He gave Remus a look that made his heart sink. He looked… betrayed? That didn’t make sense. But before Remus could get up and ask what was wrong, the bell rang and Virgil took a seat in the front of the classroom, away from Remus.
Now, most people would be able to see that Virgil was upset before he even walked into the room. They would realize that Virgil isn’t having a good day, and would give him some space until he was ready to talk to them.
Remus is not most people.
He spent the entire class staring at Virgil, several pencils snapping as he pretended to take notes. Virgil slouched forward, ignoring Remus’s gaze burning holes in his hoodie. When the class ended, Virgil practically ran out the door. Remus growled and stuffed his things into his bag, shooting a quick text to Roman.
Re- (2:21 PM) Staying after, go on without me
He turned off his phone, not waiting for a response as he stalked out the door. He knew that Virgil didn’t take the bus, and Remus had a feeling that the emo hadn’t left the school yet. He probably didn’t go to his locker, and he hated all of the teachers, which left-
Remus slammed the bathroom door open, Virgil jumping from the sudden sound. He was hovering over the sink, his face red and puffy from crying. His shock quickly morphed into anger as he glared at Remus. “What do you want? Here to rub it all in my face?”
Remus growled, ready to rip his own hair out. Or Virgil’s. He hadn’t decided yet. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Virgil barked out a laugh, and Remus ignored how beautiful Virgil looked, even when angry. “Wrong with me? What’s wrong with you?! I thought you were my friend!”
A part of Remus’ heart broke at his crush calling him just a ‘friend,’ but the rest of his heart shattered as he processed what the emo said. “Of fucking course I’m your friend!”
Virgil glared at Remus, pointing at him accusingly. “Then why the hell are you wearing those?!”
Remus looked down at his jewelry, which he had bought and put on just to impress Virgil. They had to be what he was talking about, since it was the only significant change to Remus’s normal outfit. He actually liked this jewelry a whole lot. And now his asshole crush was getting pissy about it. “What’s wrong with me wearing jewelry, huh? You got a fucking problem with it?”
Virgil growled, slamming his fist onto the countertop. “That’s not what I’m talking about and you know it, dumbass! I’m not stupid, I know where you got those!”
Remus huffed. “You got something against Jacob? I know the guy’s an asshole, but are you seriously gonna hate me for buying his little sister’s jewelry?”
Virgil froze, his hands gripping the bathroom counter like a death grip. “Little sister? So you didn’t know?”
Remus was confused, but he was still more irritated than anything. “Didn’t know what? What the fuck are you talking about?!”
Virgil stayed quiet for a moment before he started screaming. “THAT SON OF A BITCH!” He slammed his fists back on the counter, fresh tears rolling down his face.
Remus rushed forward, pinning Virgil’s wrists down so he couldn’t hurt himself. No matter how pissed he was, Remus couldn’t see his crush get hurt. “What the fuck is going on, Virgil?”
Virgil froze again, looking away. “It’s none of your business. Just leave me alone.”
Remus growled, adding pressure to Virgil’s wrists, ignoring the way he winced. “Not this time, emo. You can’t just accuse me and say we aren’t friends, then tell me to fuck off when I don’t even know what you’re talking about!” He stepped closer, not giving him any room to squirm away. “So we’re not going anywhere until you’ve told me what’s going on.” Virgil looked away, and Remus growled. “You said that we’re friends, right? Then fucking treat me like one.”
There were a few moments of silence between them before Virgil sighed looking away, mumbling. “My name’s on ‘em.”
Remus’s grip loosened, confused. “Huh?”
Virgil groaned, pulling himself out of Remus’ hold and grabbing him by the wrist, removing his bracelet with practiced ease. He showed Remus the inside of the bracelet, where V.S. was stitched into the fabric. “Jacob’s little sister’s name is Sally. That’s my name. I sewed and etched it into every product.”
Remus stared for a minute until it hit him. “Did you make these?”
Virgil blushed and nodded. “Yeah, I sell them online. They take forever to make but it’s fun and I make a good amount of money off of it.” He huffed. “I shouldn’t of brought them to school. Yesterday Jacob had found me and was be-” he coughed “was talking to me, and he found them in my backpack. Said he would sell them for me, and in exchange I wouldn’t leave with a broken nose. All of the popular kids knew that I made them, because they bought a ton and flashed it off in front of me in the hallways.” He sniffled and wiped his tears away with his hoodie sleeve. “I… I thought you knew too. I thought you were like them.”
Remus stared for a few minutes before getting out his wallet. “How much do you normally charge for these?”
Virgil sputtered. “W-what? You don’t-”
Remus growled. “I know I don’t have to. Now. How. Much. Do. You. Charge?”
Virgil rambled off the price and Remus frowned. That wasn’t even half of what Jacob had charged for them. Still, he paid the price that Virgil listed before opening a backpack and grabbing a notebook and pen. “Do you know everything that he took? And how much you usually charge for them?” Virgil nodded softly, still a little mystified. “Can you write them down? Or if you have a picture it would be helpful.”
Virgil carefully wrote them all down, giving descriptions of each piece of jewelry and their worth. Remus nearly growled when he read the list. Virgil was missing almost $200 worth of jewelry, and based on Jacob’s prices, the asshole was going to make at least a $500 profit from all of this.
Remus took back his notebook and put it away, giving his crush one last look. “I promise I didn’t know about any of this, but now I’m going to fix it. Here,” he grabbed Virgil’s wrist and scribbled something on the back of his hand “here’s my number. If those assholes try something like this again, give me a call and I’ll go punch their teeth in.”
Virgil looked away. “You don’t have to…”
Remus chuckled. “Punch their teeth in? It’s kind of my signature move by this point. It would be a shame if I didn’t.”
The emo blushed, finding his shoelaces to be more interesting than looking Remus in the eye. “You don’t have to be so nice to me.”
Remus shook his head. “You earned my niceness, fair and square. You’re my friend, Emo. Do you know how many people get to call me that and mean it?” He snorted. “Do you know how many people get to call me a dumbass without immediately getting their bones broken? It’s a very short list.” He sauntered out of the bathroom, stopping as he reached the door. “You mean a lot to me V. And I’m gonna make these assholes pay.” He didn’t look to see Virgil’s reaction as he walked away, one goal in mind: make Jacob Smith’s life a living hell.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Virgil went to class the next day, still in a slight state of shock. He felt numb all over, like he’d been drenched in ice water and was still dealing with the aftershocks. A lot had happened in the past 2 days, and he wanted nothing more than to lay down for a nap and not wake up until it all blew over.
Yesterday was awful. Usually Jacob just beat him up and went along his merry way, but instead he decided to ruin one of the few things that made Virgil happy. Jewelry making had been his passion for years, and seeing dozens of bullies showing him their new jewelry with a vindictive smirk, and knowing they were his but he wasn’t making a single penny, hurt him more than any punch or kick ever could.
But what hurt was seeing his only friend (and crush) sitting in the back of the room, showing off the jewelry that Virgil had specifically made with him in mind. Remus had been smirking, just like the bullies had as they flaunted off their jewelry, and Virgil had felt his heart break into a million pieces.
But that was yesterday. Today was a new day, and Virgil was wanting to crawl into a whole and never come out. Everyone would still be buying and showing off Virgil’s jewelry, some knowing where it came from, others having no idea. Jacob would probably come to beat Virgil up when he ran out of jewelry to sell, demanding more products that Virgil refused to make. He wasn’t going to spend all of his time on these products just to put money in Jacob’s pockets. And to top it all off, his friendship with Remus was probably ruined. Judging by how he acted yesterday, Remus would probably get upset if Virgil tried to distance himself again. But he was dreading the day where Remus would realize that Virgil wasn’t worth a decent English grade and tell him to fuck off.
Virgil was late to school today, so he didn’t actually realize that something was amiss until around lunch. No one had come up to Virgil to show off their jewelry, and a lot of students were staring at the emo as he walked by. When he took a closer look, he realized that the kids who had shown off their jewelry to him yesterday weren’t wearing them anymore, and some of them were sporting some nasty bruises. The ones who were wearing them were constantly staring at Virgil and… smiling? That was weird. But as Virgil sat down to eat his food another, more important question arose.
Where’s Jacob? And Remus?
His questions were answered in English class, where he overheard two students chatting as Virgil stepped in. Apparently Jacob and Remus had gotten into a fight and were now suspended. Virgil sat back in his normal spot, ignoring how the room went quiet as the ice water feeling returned with a vengeance. Remus got into a fight? Over him? That didn’t make any sense. Just the fact that Remus apologized and paid Virgil his debt for the jewelry was more than Virgil deserved. But the fact that Remus got into a fight with Jacob, because Jacob stole from Virgil, made something in his chest stutter. It made his heart race and his breath stop for a minute. Keep it cool Virgil, it’s not like someone as cool as Remus would ACTUALLY like you. His fight probably had nothing to do with me.
“Um, Virgil?” Virgil looked up at the random student next to him. Bethany, his brain half-heartedly supplied, still in a half state of shock. She was fiddling with the bracelets on her wrist, and it took Virgil a moment to realize they were his bracelets. “I-uh… I wanted to say sorry for what happened. Jacob told us he had brought those bracelets from home. We had no idea they were yours.” She pulled out her wallet. “Can I repay you for it? Or maybe buy more to make up for it?”
Virgil shook his head. “You don’t owe me anything. You already had to pay a stupidly high amount to Jacob, you shouldn’t have to waste more on me. I’ll be behind for a while on money, but I’ll get back up there eventually.” He blushed. “But if you want to buy more…” He scribbled down a url on his notebook paper and handed it to Bethany. “I have a website where you can customize your jewelry. It’ll take around a month or two depending on what it is, but I’ll have it done and shipped to your address as soon as it’s done.”
She took the paper and smiled gratefully. “Thank you so much! See you later Virgil!” She went back to her gaggle of friends, showing them the website url as they took pictures and typed it into their phones. Virgil smiled softly, glad to have at least a few potential customers after this.
When class was over, Virgil quickly grabbed his stuff from his locker and walked out the door. He was making his usual journey across the football field and towards the neighborhood when a familiar figure waved in the distance. Remus was underneath one of the bleachers, a familiar box in one hand and his backpack on the ground. Virgil ran over and hissed. “What are you doing here? You’re suspended right now! If they catch you on school grounds you’ll be expelled!”
Remus chuckled. “As if that would stop me from visiting my favorite emo.” Virgil flushed and looked at the wooden box. Remus suddenly perked up as he held out the box. “I got you your stuff back!” He sounded like an overexcited puppy and Virgil bit back a giggle, instead taking the box. He frowned when his hand came back wet.
“Uh, Remus?” He looked at his hand and cringed.
Remus tilted his head to the side, still resembling a puppy as he excitedly spoke. “Yeah?”
Virgil showed Remus the box. “This box is wet.”
“Yeah?”
“...With blood.”
“Yeah?”
“...Is it your blood?”
“I don’t think so!”
Virgil nodded, wiping his hand on his black skinny jeans. “Okay… thank you. It-” he looked away, blushing. “It means a lot to me.” He opened the box, looking at the contents. Around a third of the original jewelry was in the box, most of it he vaguely remembered the bullies wearing yesterday.
Remus smiled brightly, bouncing slightly as he grabbed his backpack. “That’s not even the best part! Look what I found while beating that asshole up!” Virgil hesitated before opening the bag, the not-so-nice part of him imagining Jacob himself shoved into the bag. Instead, the bag was filled to the brim with cash. Virgil stared at the money in shock while Remus explained. “That’s everything that he earned for selling your jewelry. He charged for a lot more than you did, but now you’ve made all of your money back and then some!”
Virgil tried to count the money at a glance, but his head started to spin after a minute. “Remus. How much money is in here?”
He giggled. “Almost $600. Jacob got a lot of money selling your stuff. He also had an extra 50 bucks that I added to the pot as compensation.”
Virgil nearly dropped the backpack in shock. He’d never had that much money before. This is it. I can actually start a business with this money. I can throw it into my bank account and actually have a chance at making jewelry after high school. At least as a side-job. He looked up at his crush, who was still bouncing slightly as he waited for praise. He did this for me. Remus gave me this chance. He did this because he cares. No one’s ever cared about me this much before.
Virgil didn’t realize what he was going to say until it was already out of his mouth. “Do you like coffee? With me?” He realized how jumbled his words were and he blushed. “I mean, would you like to go get some coffee with me? I know a good caffe a few blocks away. I know we aren’t too close, but maybe we could get to know each other better?”
Remus froze for a few seconds before he chuckled. “I don’t actually like coffee.” Virgil almost felt his heart drop, but his crush smirked at him. “But I know I’ll enjoy anything with you.” Virgil squeaked with a blush, and Remus chuckled. “Let’s go! We’ll get you some coffee, and we can talk about the inspiration behind your jewelry. Especially these.” He held out his wrist, showing off the dark green bracelet, a small purple heart sewn on the inside. Virgil blushed again. They both knew what inspired it. They both knew that Remus had inspired it. Or rather, Virgil’s feelings towards Remus. And Remus seemed okay with it, judging by his flirtatious chuckle and teasing grin.
Virgil eventually grabbed the resident bad boy’s hand, dragging him out from under the bleachers and towards the nearest cafe. He never thought he’d have a chance, but Remus gave it to him. And there was no way in hell that Virgil wasn’t going to take it.

hi! can i request minato fall for naruto kindergarten teacher please? thank you 😁
Ma'am: A Possible New Mom? Minato x KindergartenTeacher!Reader
My actual first request! Hope I did it justice! Thank you honey for the request. I wrote some sort of mixed AU so I hope you don't mind.
A/N: This took a lot of time because I have a lot of tests every month. Also i threw up a week ago and was somewhat sick. Then I lost the two drafts and was so irritated with ms word but somehow I managed to write again. So a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this. Please shower it with love if you even read this awful Author’s note.
Positive A/N: I did like how it turned out tho, the ending is too cute and you won't know what to expect as I didn't either. I genuinely hope you have fun reading this piece.

 Your POV
“It must be fun to play with the kids all day."
People who think that are the biggest fools on the planet in the universe.
You were picking up the various toys scattered throughout the main classroom, sorting them category wise while the kids took a nap. Most of them anyways.
A few babies had insane amount of energies that they refused to sleep whatsoever. But it wasn't as big a problem as people think it is. All kids have different strengths, a variety of ways to function and unique physiology. You knew if a kid was not tired, forcing him or her to doze off isn't healthy.
Just let the kids be.
So that explains why Naruto was alongside you helping you to collect the sponge shurikens scattered around while you put away the stuffed ninkens on the high shelf. Usually Kiba and Rock Lee would be awake as well, and this trio would play in the hall until their limbs gave out but today even they slept after tiring poor Akamaru out for weird challenges.
“Ma’am, I almost forgot! I want to show you something! Come with me!” Naruto suddenly grabbed your hand leaving his task in the midst and urging you to leave yours too. You looked at him puzzled but giggled at his enthusiasm nonetheless, sometimes kids were too darn cute. You loved the ways kids’ eyes lit up, so optimistic and happy and hopeful until the world snatched it all away. You wanted to preserve this for as long as could.
He took you to the room where the kids kept their small backpacks filled with their favourite articles that they thought were absolutely necessary to take everywhere.
No Neji, you don’t need to have three combs for the care of your luscious hair every possible instant.
Naruto generally brought a lot of snacks which you had to retain sometimes so that he would eat healthy but it became even harder to do so when all he wanted was for Sasuke to taste the tomatoey flavour ‘these’ chips had and gift Rock Lee the curry flavour. That boy had a heart of gold.
He pulled the zipper of his orange backpack open, and took out a stuffed fox.
“Ma’am meet Kurama! I told him all about you and he wanted to meet you!” He held Kurama up while you were gently petting the plushie’s head, he was so excited to see your happiness to meet his esteemed companion.
These kids and their imaginations! You loved every ounce of it!
“Hello Mr. Kurama!” You didn’t feign excitement, you actually were. You loved kids and their creativity and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“He’s my best friend! Don’t tell anyone else though! Others might get sad.”
You did an action of zipping your lips, “Your secret is safe with me, sweetie.”
“Look! I also drew something!” He hastily handed you Kurama and proceeded to take out his yellow sketchbook. He kept turning pages filled with rainbows of colours morphing into one another that made some sense in his cute, little head and finally reached his desired page. He pulled your dress with his little chubby hands, an action he often did when he wanted you to sit beside him. You kneeled down, his plushie settled in your lap now as you waited for him to go ahead.
He handed you his open sketchbook where there were three figures, two adults and one kid judging by the height, all wearing triangular outfits. One kid and an adult had striking yellow hair and blue eyes while the other adult wore an orange dress with a large circle in their hands. On closer inspection, you saw your own hair colour and eye colour being illustrated to the best of the toddler’s ability, as far as the crayons allowed him to portray it. You had a circle in your hands, almost the size of your drawn head with black spots in between while the child in the photo held an orange squishy ball. To save you from your confusion, Naruto came to the rescue and started explaining.
“That’s me and Dada over here. And I’m playing with Kurama! And that’s you Ma’am! Bringing me and dada cookies for being good boys like you do in class!”
Your heart melted right there and then. For some reason, your face heated up too.
“Oh my God, honey, that’s amazing!” You pecked his cheek as Naruto blushed slightly and rubbed his head, “You liked it?”
“I Loved it! What did Dada say about it?”
“He got so red like Sasuke’s tomatoes haha. But he put it on our fridge like my other drawings and he said it was the best one yet.”
Before you could reply, crying was heard from the nap room and you sighed. Looks like someone woke up.
“Yay, someone is up! We can now play!” Naruto began running but you stopped him.
“Let’s be sure to pack this all up before, Ma’am Anko will see to your friend okay?”

Minato was waiting alongside other parents, it was 10 minutes till the kindergarten was over. His mind wandered afar, thinking about his journey to this town.
Minato was very afraid when he moved to Konoha, about Naruto settling in and making friends. Of course, back in his previous town he had already got Naruto a place in the best Kindergarten there, pulling all the needed strings but his promotion caught him off guard. Being a single parent was hard enough as it is, and with the worry of adjusting to new surroundings for his growing son, he was almost going to decline the offer. Only after much conviction from his friends that he deserved this, he took the offer, albeit hesitantly.
He was happy with his new workspace and colleagues as well, and was over the moon when he one of his erudite associates had a son the same age as his own, and recommended the city’s best kindergarten where his son was set to go. He went blindly on his associate’s word, because he knew him to be a wise dad.
For the first two months, he had to work relentlessly to prove his position as the new leader in the branch, and so he had his assistant pick Naruto up while he prepared lunch at home for his precious boy, barely making it home fifteen minutes before they did. But when the company celebrated their first real accomplishment, only then did Minato feel he could take a step back and indulge with his son more as he used to do.
When he began picking him up himself, he realised what he had been missing on: small quirky tales, new words his toddler learned, new friends’ names, his favourite teacher’s cookies apparently. Minato quickly noticed, being the perceptive man he was, that Naruto could go hours and hours talking about his Ma’am. He would have thought of it as a crush, had Naruto been older.
But when he first saw you, he could relate to his son if Naruto did have a crush. He knew he was being superficial, being attracted to your appearance at first sight but he couldn’t help himself that you were almost ethereal, too gorgeous to be true. It seemed as if you were glowing when you laughed alongside the kids or held one of them on your shoulders while searching for the parents.
However, your personality was even more so captivating when he finally talked to you at the parents-teachers conference. You were such a quality teacher, he deduced when he noticed how apt you were at describing each kid individually and how dedicated to their growth you were. He loved the bond you had with Naruto, the boy couldn’t stop grinning upon meeting you on his day off.
The bell rung, breaking him out of his reverie, and he waited as the kids ran to the parents, waving goodbyes here and there, ready for their weekend. He could hear your faint shouting over the buzz, “Make sure you have taken all your belongings, kiddos! Have a good weekend!”
He knew if you had a special place in his son’s heart, he could let you stay in his heart as well.
Tumblr media
It was 8 PM, one hour past the Uzumaki kid’s bedtime, but the blatantly crying kid was nowhere near sleeping. A distressed Minato held him on his hip, as he searched the entire house for his favourite plushie, Kurama, without whom Naruto had never slept.
“We’ll find him, Naru. Do you remember where you last saw it?” Minato asked, pausing and sitting in the comfy sofa, looking at Naruto, hoping he’d have an answer.
Naruto’s wails quietened down, fortunately there were no tears, as he pondered and spoke, “I last showed it to Ma’am!”
Minato sighed, he grasped that Naruto would have left it at the playschool because no inch of his house was unsearched. He settled Naruto down on the couch as he deliberated calling you over a toy. He had your number for emergencies, but was this one? The real objection, the actual reluctance he had for calling was totally different though. He hated to admit it, but talking to Naruto’s daydream of a teacher always left him stuttering like a teenager. He could barely listen and respond when he met her at the kindergarten, but talking to that Goddess one on one was more terrifying and nerve-wracking than moving to a new town.
But he knew there was no way Naruto would sleep without Kurama and it was only Friday, nights to wait if he doesn’t ask you about the plushie today. He couldn’t imagine how disheveled will Naruto be without Kurama by then. He would surely award himself with wine if he managed to finish the call without fainting.
With clammy hands and a vigorously pounding heart, he dialed the number.
Tumblr media
You were finishing up the last batch of forms and cleaning up, when you saw something abruptly put in the otherwise shipshape playroom. Before you could further inspect, your phone rang, Mr. Uzumaki flashing on top of the screen. Your heart hammered as you wondered what he could be calling about.
You were not going to lie, Mr. Uzumaki was easy on the eyes, always in class A condition with his well-tailored suits as he came to pick Naruto up. Even the married housewives ogled him not-so-subtly. He was such an excellent father, really devoted in his son’s life while simultaneously conquering the business world. An eye candy, with all the best qualities that existed, an immensely put together God’s creation. He was dream partner to have, yet somehow he was single.
Your phone’s ring broke you out of your musing, as your sweaty palms grabbed the phone and received the cal.
“Good Evening, Mr. Uzumaki.” You managed out, your neck suddenly heating up.
“Good Evening, Miss. I hope I didn’t disturb you.”
“Not at all, I was about to head home. How may I help you?”
“If you are still there at the playschool, could you please…… If you don’t mind….. I’m sorry again I called-”
“I assure you, it’s fine. You don’t need to worry about it. Although you do need to tell me the problem if you want me to help.” You giggled lightly, amused at that man stuttering.
“Thank you. Umm Naruto left his night time plushie there I suppose and he doesn’t sleep without it. Could you please, please check if it’s there?”
“Of course.” You held the phone and as you hummed and went to the Kid’s playroom you found Naruto’s sketchbook with the drawing laying on it, and the Kurama toy beside it. You swore you promised Naruto pack it earlier in the day.
“Looks like he did leave it here.”
“Can you keep the school open a bit late, I’ll come and collect it right aw-”
“Its pretty windy right now outside, and you’ll have to bring Naruto too at this hour. I’ll drop it at your home on my way back, I was planning in leaving in five anyways.” Your mouth spoke before you could process what you said, offering to go to his house? Nice going there, you desperate weirdo.
His choked out “Okay” almost surprised you as you ended the call.
This will be a nice, little detour.
Tumblr media
About twenty minutes later, the doorbell to the Uzumaki household rang and Minato sprinted to the door, opening it immediately.
There you stood, with tousled hair from the wind, in your long red pea coat and black heels. Your cheeks lightly tinted, no doubt because of the unruly weather outside. Somehow you still looked absolutely perfect in Minato’s eyes as he traced your form, unable to initiate the conversation.
You, on the other hand, had halted completely when the door opened revealing a ripped Minato, his muscles bulging underneath his black shirt while grey sweatpants hung loosely on his hips. His biceps were so thick, you wondered how he managed to exercise on top of all the responsibilities he had.
You handed it over to Minato whose eyes widened at the piece of paper and stood there awkwardly, processing what to say.
Somehow stopping yourself from all the gawking, you cleared your throat as you dug in your black purse and took out Naruto’s best friend and his masterpiece.
“Guess he left this as well.” He gave a forced laugh, trying to make things less uncomfortable after he stood silent for two minutes.
You chuckled lightly in agreement when suddenly thunder boomed behind you, causing you to shriek and slip, only to be caught by Minato, his hands holding you around your middle tightly in a protective manner. You coughed as you stepped back again and he cleared his throat this time when suddenly it started pouring like hell’s rage on Earth.
“You should stay for a while, at least until the rain lightens.”
You were going to decline, but when you saw how bad it was raining, you knew you would have to accept. “Looks, like I’ll have to. Sorry to impose.”
“It’s no imposition at all. I’m inviting you, don’t fret.”
You stepped inside, shrugging your pea-coat off, revealing your black dress underneath. Minato reddened visibly, taking your pea-coat from you and hanging it. He cursed himself as he thought of conversation starters, wanting to say something, anything to not stand like a fool.
“Would you like wine? I have this blush flavoured bottle reading to drink.”
“I would love that, Thank you. What are you celebrating though, if I may ask?” You agreed, maybe the alcohol would calm your buzzing nerves. Besides you were a sucker for wine.
“Nothing much, a simple personal achievement of sorts.” He said with a grin as he led you inside, hopeful of where the night might lead. Maybe the liquid courage would help him finally ask you out.
Behind the wall, Naruto grinned with a pacifier in his mouth. Mission successful.

So that was that. Until next time, cookies.

What makes Dishonored your favorite game?
The biggest thing for me was the lore and the atmosphere. No game I've played has ever had such a well-incorporated feel and sense of immersion to it like Dishonored except for Bishock 1, which is incidentally my second favorite game of all time lol. The lore is brilliant, the world is creative, the atmosphere is spectacular, the soundtrack is to die for, and it taught me a lot about how to create a city and a world and a system of myths and religion and tales and perspectives.
The way it's set in a steampunk/clockpunk/fantasy world where whaling is the primary source of energy is brilliant. The books and papers and notes you can read throughout the game are endlessly fascinating, and the different perspectives you come across in writing on certain characters throughout is especially interesting to me. Granny Rags is amazing, Slackjaw is great, the Loyalists were quite a unique set of allies, and Daud is probably my favorite antagonist of all time.
The stealth and magic system is the only one of its kind I've ever come across, and literally no other game compares in quality to stealth missions and chaos systems and gameplay except maybe Assassin's Creed, and that depends on which game we're talking about. After playing Dishonored I legitimately scoured the internet for games like it that had good stealth/magic and nothing else was as good.
Also, I love the exploration of classism and the critiques on society. The main antagonist is the game is vile, and the reveal for why he did what he did will always stick with me. The Boyle party is my favorite part of the game despite my beef with the low honor choice. Largely because of a) the aesthetic, which is breathtaking throughout the entire game but especially on this mission, b) the boyle sisters themselves, who are very complex and who you can learn a great deal about through exploring their home before even meeting them, and c) the fact that even in this rich person's mansion, as all these wealthy and privileged people dine on a vast amount of food making small talk while the rest of the city starves and dies and bodies pile like mountains in the flooded district, there is still blood on the floor.
The disconnect when hearing the rich wonder why they're also dying to the plague is well done, too. The fact that they never even considered they would be vulnerable because they judge the lower classes so much.
The heart, which is probably the greatest part of the game, spilling secrets and giving you knowledge. A horrifying companion that tells you everything about the world you're in. It's such a great way to incorporate more lore as well as highlight the complex lives of the characters you're surrounded by. Even a random man wandering the street has a story the heart will tell you. I like that. I like how even the side characters feel fleshed out. There's no part of that world or that city that doesn't have a purpose. There's no piece of that game that feels worthless. You point the heart not even at a person but at a place and it will tell you the secrets of the world. That's the type of worldbuilding I admire. That's the type of lore that means something to me.
The religion is cool. The Outsider is interesting. The void as a concept is genius and the way its explored is so incredibly compelling. I love the way magic and religion are tied together. I enjoy the way cultism is explored. I ADORE the abbey and the religious corruption and how tied it is with the government. Just the entire setup of the government/accepted religion/'heretical' religion is really great.
There are dozens of ways to complete the missions and explore the city. Playing the game without powers is fun af. You are a rat bastard. I love the rats in this game. I love the powers in this game. You can have charms made out of bones and you can find shrines to the outsider and you can teleport in front of your allies without them even going "hey! why does this dude have a strange heretical marking on his hand?!" The powers are fun, the void is fun, the dynamics of the game are fun. It's just fun. I mean, maybe a bit too easy now, imo. I have to set it on very hard and make sure its basically unbeatable to really have a challenge anymore.
Corvo as a character seems dull at first when you don't get much of his story in the first game, but his potential and the pieces of his history that are dropped occasionally by npcs and his relationship with emily make him pretty fucking stellar, imo. You learn more about him and his relationships with people as the game progresses. The way the world changes is so interesting.
Like idk, I could go on but this is already enough of a ramble. It's just... really good. It was also the game that got me back into videogames. I had a massive gaming slump for about five years where nothing interested me. I gave Dishonored a try and loved it so so much I started playing other games again. Luckily I then played Bioshock 1, and that passion didn't immediately die. So really it just holds a sentimental place in my heart as well. Also I majorly shipped the Corvo/Jessamine/Daud OT3 you guys have no idea.

Rollerskating Into My Life (Symone x Gigi) - Strawberry
Summary:
“You’re really pretty, too. But I don’t really know how to skate. Balancing is so hard!”
“Let me get a soda and then afterwards I can help you out?” The curly haired girl offered, and Gigi grinned.
Or, Gigi is at Jaida's birthday party and doesn't know anyone else there. Symone changes that.
A/N: Hi! I originally wrote this for the Rare Pair challenge earlier this year, but I never ended up submitting. I reread it yesterday and was like "Wait, I don't hate this!" so I decided that posting it months later was better than never!
Being at a roller rink with half of her grade was not where Gigi wanted to be.
It was her best friend Jaida’s birthday, and she wanted to go roller skating to celebrate. Being fairly popular, she ended up inviting half of their grade to the party, and Gigi, who was not popular in the slightest, knew absolutely no one well enough to want to talk to and she didn’t want to change that.
However, that meant Gigi would spend most of the night by herself as Jaida went around the rink, talking to everyone. Of course, she didn’t blame Jaida, it wouldn’t make sense to invite so many people and then only hang around the redhead. It also didn’t mean that it didn’t suck.
The two arrived together, meaning that Jaida was her ride back home where they would have a sleepover, just the two of them. Just that made showing up to the big party worth it in Gigi’s opinion, but the minutes were dragging on so slowly. She would’ve been out skating to make the time pass faster, but Gigi was incredibly clumsy and could only stay upright for a maximum of twelve seconds. Skating was not her thing.
Sitting at the bar, Gigi’s eyes wandered from watching Jaida and Nicky skate around, to Rock making a fool of herself in front of Jackie and Jan, to two girls that Gigi didn’t think went to their school.
One was a taller brunette and the other was a slightly shorter girl who had curly black hair. Both of the girls were stunning, but Gigi couldn’t take her eyes off of the shorter girl. She was the prettiest girl the ginger had seen in a long time, and she wished they had the confidence to get up and (slowly and carefully) make her way over to her.
Gigi watched as the brunette slipped and fell after attempting to dance to the Dua Lipa song that was playing and instead of helping her friend up, the pretty girl stood there and laughed.
Her smile was so beautiful.
“Whatcha looking at, G?” Jaida’s voice scared the shit out of her, Gigi placed her hand over their heart as she turned to face her best friend.
“Those girls don’t go to our school, I was trying to figure out if they did. But they don’t!”
“Mhm. You should go talk to the one you think is cute.” Jaida always saw right through Gigi.
“Oh, fuck off. You know I won’t.” She rolled her eyes. Gigi was never one to just go up and start conversations with complete strangers, especially ones that she thought were cute.
“Anything is possible! You actually showed up even though I know you would rather be in bed right now.” Jaida reminded her.
“Of course I would go to my best friend’s birthday party! I’m not a monster.”
“I know! It just really means a lot that you showed up. I know being with large groups of people isn’t your cup of tea.”
“Anything for you, but I think Nicky is waiting for you at the soda machine.”
After trying to convince Gigi to get up and say hi to Nicky, Jaida went off to go see her friend by herself. Gigi pulled out her phone, deciding to see if any of the celebrities she followed on Instagram had posted anything within the two hours they had at the roller rink.
“Hiii,” a voice she didn’t recognize said, and Gigi looked up to see that the pretty girl with curly black hair was right in front of her.
“Oh! Hi,” Gigi let out a nervous giggle. The ginger always laughed when she was nervous and absolutely hated it.
“I saw you looking at me earlier, and my friend just ditched me for a questionable boy, so I’d thought I’d come and say hi. I’m Symone.”
What a gorgeous name.
“I’m Gigi. And where are they? The boy probably goes to my school.”
Symone pointed to where her friend was currently trying to dance with a guy Gigi had history with. “Yuck. Your friend better not hit it off with him. He’s gross.”
“Noted. Is there a school event going on or something?” She asked, looking around at the rest of Gigi’s classmates.
“Oh, it’s my best friend’s birthday. She invited like, half of our grade,” the redhead rambled on while Symone nodded, “I think you and your friend are the only people here who aren’t from school.”
Gigi was never up to talking to strangers, but they wanted to keep talking to Symone. Everything about her was perfect and they were not going to fuck it up by being cold.
Symone made her way to the empty seat next to Gigi, “It feels so nice to sit down. I’ve been on my feet all night.”
“You should definitely rest up then.”
“I haven’t seen you on the rink all night though, I’m starting to think that you don’t know how to skate.”
“So you were watching me too?” Gigi questioned, grinning.
“Yeah. You’re pretty cute, Strawberry Shortcake.”
Gigi didn’t know why, but she liked being called that. It wasn’t new or creative in the slightest, but it gave them butterflies. “You’re really pretty, too. But I don’t really know how to skate. Balancing is so hard!”
“Let me get a soda and then afterwards I can help you out?” The curly haired girl offered, and Gigi grinned.
“Sounds amazing.”
____________
Gigi and Symone did a little more than grabbing a soda. They ended up getting pizza too, and spent a little too long sitting there and chatting.
They might have only met Symone an hour prior, but they really liked her. She was kind and funny and actually seemed very interested in getting to know the redhead a little bit more. The darker girl was an extremely slow eater, so they were there for quite a while, engaging in small talk. They both were interested in fashion and hated boys, it was extremely refreshing for Gigi to meet someone that appeared to be similar to her.
When Symone finally finished up her pizza, she got up and reached out to grab the ginger’s hand. Gigi gladly accepted it, and together they made their way to the edge of the rink.
“Okay, I’m gonna let go of your hand and you’re going to try to balance.” Symone explained, and Gigi hesitantly let the girl take her manicured hand away.
They did not stay up for long. After a few seconds, they had to grab the half wall that separated the rink and cafeteria in order to stay upright. “This is hard!” Gigi yelped, blushing when she saw the amused look on Symone’s face.
“You’re not standing right. You’re putting all of your weight on your heel which is why you can’t stand up for very long.”
Gigi tried balancing their whole foot, and Symone adjusted their body so the ginger was leaning slightly forward. “Try that now. You should have an easier time balancing.”
Symone was right. Gigi had completed the first step of learning how to skate, something they probably wouldn’t have been able to figure out on their own.
“Okay, I think I’m ready to skate.”
“Hold onto me, Strawberry Shortcake. I don’t trust you to not fall quite yet,” Symone giggled, holding her hand out and waited for Gigi to grab it.
They went slow at first, carefully watching Gigi as they went around the rink. Halfway around they passed Jaida who was now skating with Dahlia, and Jaida nearly fell over seeing that Gigi had actually talked to the girl she thought was cute.
After two laps, the redhead was fairly confident in her ability to skate around without holding onto Symone; not that she would tell her that. Gigi was enjoying holding Symone’s hand and she did not want to let go anytime soon.
If the dark haired girl felt the same, she was definitely prioritizing teaching her new acquaintance (what were they? Gigi had no clue.) how to roller skate.
By their fourth lap, Symone was starting to catch on, “I don’t think you need my help anymore. I think you just want to hold my hand.”
Being called out flustered Gigi, but they were proud of what they responded, “Am I wrong for not wanting to let go of a pretty girl’s hand?”
Her new love interest pondered for a moment, “I guess you might have a point.”
____________
They ended up spending the rest of the night side by side, skating around and dancing to music. Gigi was much better at roller skating than they were a few hours prior.
Eventually, Symone’s friend made a reappearance and the people who showed up for Jaida’s party slowly started to empty the rink. Gigi knew that it was time to part ways.
“I had a lot of fun tonight. Maybe we could do it again sometime?”
“Depends. Will you pretend to be bad at skating so you have an excuse to hold my hand again?” Symone teased, getting out her phone and opening up the contacts app, pressing ‘new contact’ before handing it to the redhead.
“I’m never living that down, am I?” Gigi giggled, typing in her name and number into the phone that was now in her hand.
She shrugged, “I’m not complaining about someone as cute as you holding my hand, but I also found it amusing.”
After saying their goodbyes to Symone and her friend Rosy, Gigi made their way over to Jaida who was sitting at the bar, typing away on her phone.
“Hey, stranger.”
Their best friend looked up, smiling at them. “You had a lot of fun tonight, huh?”
“I really did. I’m really glad I came.”
Gigi couldn’t wait to see them again.

One of a kind
Charlie x Reader
Prompts: “Please shut up, I can’t stand how appealing your voice is.”
I have such a soft spot for Charlie Weasley, I think he’s so underrated and deserves so much more love!! So I wrote this little piece that’s completely and utterly filled with fluff. I also wrote it for @summer-writes writing challenge (and you should check her out too because she’s lovely)!
Three days. That’s how long it had taken for you to develop a crush on Charlie Weasley. You’d vaguely remembered him from your days at school but he was two years above you and let’s face it, Hogwarts is a big school.
Now, it was rare to see the two of you apart. You’d joined his team in Romania almost two years ago now. Starting as a glorified intern, you were more than happy to just be around the dragons. Today you were counted as an integral part of your research team. While Charlie focussed more on the handling and transporting of dragons, you were at his side to monitor the creatures’ health. Always the first to clock injuries, diet changes and sicknesses you really were an expert in the dragon department.
Not only were the two of you a wonder team but you got along like old friends. His happy go lucky demeanour sparked your creative side which meant work was never boring. Your sharp tongue counterbalanced his quick wit which meant you were always tossing back and forth a little ball of banter.
You worked together and you were known to take work home. It only made sense when the two of you moved in together a few months into your partnership. You set basic boundaries and you mostly managed to squash the tiny little voice in your head that begged for him to make a move. If being platonic meant you could have Charlie in your life, you were happy to just be friends.
Living together worked out to be a blessing, the only problem was his singing. Not because it was bad, oh no quite the opposite. His voice was gravelly and had such a warm tone to it that it was like fire whiskey to your ears. He was constantly singing, while he cooked, in the shower and even on the job. It got to the point where you would just zone out as soon as you heard his voice. It always gave you butterflies. No not butterflies, they were fully grown dragons flying around in your stomach.
“Y/N!” the object of your thoughts came bursting into your living room, full of energy as always, “there’s a rumour going around that we might be getting a Hungarian horntail in sometime this month!”
He dropped onto the sofa across from the chair you were currently perched on and grinned. The two of you had been busy at work preparing to transfer some dragons in from a sanctuary across the country. It was always exciting when you had new dragons to study and look after but Charlie was especially thrilled each time. You’d never met someone who loved their career as much as he did.
“That’s fantastic Charlie!” you closed the book that had occupied you and watched the curly headed man toss a ball up in the air as you chatted. He always needed something to keep him busy, he always had energy to burn. “I heard there’s some babies coming along as well.”
“I know, it’s fantastic,” he shot you a quick grin, “it’ll be like a brand new addition to our little family.”
“Our family?” you chuckled and raised your eyebrow at him, “that makes you what? Their uncle?”
“Mm yeah, you’re right, we’re like the fun uncle and aunt that the kids can’t wait to see at Christmas,” he stuck his tongue out at you and tossed the ball up again with ease.
“You’re one of a kind Weasley,” you shook your head and stuck your tongue back out at him.
“Then aren’t you lucky you know me?” he winked at you and rolled off the couch to stand up. You weren’t too phased by his flirty personality as much as you were when you first met him but it still kicked up a little blush on your face when he caught you off guard.
“I’m gonna shower and then I’m thinking of making pasta. You know, in case you’re interested.”
“In what, the pasta or the shower?” you flirted back and smirked up at him, “cause those are two very different offers Charles.”
“Hey, I’ll leave that for you to decide darling,” he wiggled his eyebrows and tossed the ball up and down again as he backed out of the room. He turned to leave and yelled a quick, “I’ll be in the shower!”
You smacked yourself in the forehead with your novel as your cheeks coloured red. You let yourself take the five seconds to consider following him before putting the book back in your lap and distracting yourself with the text. He just couldn’t help being flirty, you knew that, it was a part of his personality. You’d be a hypocrite if you didn’t say the same about yourself. But with Charlie it was always slightly different.
“Carbs will fix this,” you muttered, choosing to let your thoughts drift to pasta instead.
And there it was, as if on cue, Charlie singing in the shower. You couldn’t help but smile a little bit as he loudly sang along to whatever was stuck in his head today. He was far from shy and you loved that about him. The man could be comfortable anywhere and never had any shame for being a bit strange.
It was easy to fall in love with him the way you had. He was kind, fun, handsome and practically your best friend. You would be shocked if anyone managed not to fall in love with him if they were in your position. You knew you were basically an old married couple at this point anyway. Last Christmas he’d even taken you home to the Weasleys for a few days to meet his family. Normal, colleague behaviour, right?
“Hey,” Charlie stopped in the doorway on his way to his room, towel wrapped around his waist. It wasn’t rare to see Charlie walking around without a shirt, just as you would often walk around without pants. It was your house. But still, your eyes skipped over his torso and you forced your eyes to stay on his face. “so, yes on the pasta? Maybe some ice cream?”
“You should know you don’t even have to ask at this point Charlie,” you grinned and shooed him out of the room, waving your book at him.
His humming made nice background noise to your reading, trying your hardest to stay focused on the words on the page. Eventually you gave up and decided to see if you could help in the kitchen. There you found Charlie stirring a pan on the stove and humming along to the radio he had playing from the counter.
“You know you have a wand right?” you crossed your arms with an amused smile playing on your lips.
“You know, somehow this seems safer for me,” Charlie barked out a laugh and turned to grin at you, “don’t exactly have a great track record with household magic do I sweetheart?”
“Can’t deny that,” you laughed and pulled some plates out of the cupboard and started setting the little table in the centre of the kitchen. The two of you sitting down to gorge yourself on cheesy goodness.
You often split the chores between you, alternating who cooked for who. It wasn’t really a competition to see who was the better cook between you but if there’s one thing he could cook well it was comfort food. Something that came naturally to the Weasleys was a creating comforting environment so it was no surprise.
“Nope, I got it!” You grabbed Charlie’s plate before he could get up and put it away, “You cooked, I clean.”
“You’re too good to me,” Charlie chuckled and helped bring everything to the sink, “one of these days my mother will demand I marry you.”
You bit the inside of your cheek and turned towards the sink so he couldn’t see your eyes widen. Wouldn’t be so bad Charlie, you thought to yourself. You could hear him continue to hum along from the living room as you flicked your wand over the dirty plates to clean them. He came waltzing back into the kitchen as Frank Sinatra played over the speakers. Reaching out his hands dramatically to serenade you as you leant against the counter and crossed your arms with a smirk.
“Please shut up, I can’t stand how appealing your voice is,” you pretended to plug your ears.
Charlie just shook his head with a grin and continued singing, grabbing your hand to pull you into the kitchen to join him in his dancing.
I could be a king on crown
Humble or poor, rich or renowned
There is nothing I couldn't do
If I had you
You let out a laugh as he spun you towards him and rocked the two of you back and forth. Your hand clasped in his, the other on your waist he danced the two of you through the small kitchen. Resting your head on his shoulder, eyes closed as you listened to him sing along. He smelled like fire and cinnamon and Autumn. A smile was permanently stuck on your face even as your heart skipped a beat.
His hand was warm against yours, scars littered his fingers and forearms along with light freckles from the sun. His thumb stroked the back of your hand as you swayed comfortably, the music fading out.
You opened your eyes to look up at the man who held your heart and were surprised to find him looking back. His hand travelled up to your cheek and his calloused thumb stroked your cheek gently. You held your breath and nuzzled your cheek into his hand.
“I am so insanely in love with you,” he whispered. It was so soft, you’d feared you’d misheard him somehow. “It’s driving me crazy Y/N.”
Without second thought you stood up on your toes and pressed your lips to his. Your arms easily resting on his shoulders, pulling him closer to you as his hands gripped your waist and steadied you. His lips were soft and moved perfectly against yours. You smiled into the kiss and let out a soft chuckle as your forehead came to rest against his, the two of you smiling and laughing breathlessly.
“I love you,” you smiled, “I’m so in love with you,” you let out a joyful laugh as Charlie picked you up with a dopey grin on his face and kissed you again. You wound your hands in his hair as he held you against him.
“Thank god,” he laughed as he set you down, your feet touching the floor again. “there was a moment there where I thought I’d have to find the dragons a new aunt.”
You slapped his chest with a laugh and rolled your eyes at him. He tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear and kissed your forehead it’s a smile. It was everything you could have possibly hoped for with Charlie.
“So you really think my voice is incredibly appealing huh?” he asked with an innocent expression in his face, a gleam of mischief in his eyes.
“Oh shut up,” you laughed as your face flushed again.
“No, In considering a career change now,” he teased, “Yeah I can see it now, Charlie the dragon taming pop star.” he squeezed your hip with his hand.
“Right, you call me when that works out,” you snorted and patted his chest with your hand.
“What if I can’t wait that long to call you?” he smiled at you and kissed the tip of your nose.
“I’m sure we can arrange something,” you smirked and tugged him down by the front of his shirt to kiss him again.
